blaire’s angel wing visual headcanons / angel!au

lucifer

3 sets of wings that look like 1 set when at rest

when spread they radiate around him, drawing attention to his face/head

(as if a halo wasn’t enough to draw attention)

his feathers have a special property that lets them store light which he can emit later

this allows lucifer to shine as the sun would even in complete darkness

thus, the name morningstar

preening his wings does take 3 times the amount of time as it would those with 1 set

only allows mammon to preen his wings, despite simeon’s constant insistence to help

lucifer sees it as sharing intimate bonding time with his favorite little brother while mammon sees it as a punishment

mammon

smaller wings than most angels in his rank, but much stronger

mammon is always using his wings for an extra boost to get somewhere quicker, wether running, swimming, or flying

-his feathers aren’t even water-proof he’s just built different-

since his feathers have no special property, he is always dedicated to strengthening his wings to achieve new heights as heaven’s fastest angel

because of the smaller size, he is able to keep his wings fully spread in smaller places

he usually keeps his wings spread, even when sleeping. the only person to see his wings at rest is lucifer

(mammon had a bit of a rough day and lucifer sought him out only to find him curled in a ball with his wings in and sobbing)

will let any of his brothers preen his wings, though it’s not often that they offer

levi

i Imagine levi’s wings to be in the shape of the above image, but decently larger

levi’s feathers are water resistant and the shape helps him swim faster with more control

has been mistaken for a sting ray several times, sparking myths and legends alike

levi is heaven’s most proficient swimmer, among also being one of the few with feather that can fly despite their wings getting wet

he won’t brag about it though

hides his face in both his hands and wings when embarassed

only preens wings when they get noticeably itchy or painful

very shy about others preening his wings, but as long as it’s someone who won’t tease him asmo, he won’t say no to some much needed help

satan

a bit of an anomaly, though no one truly understands his existence.

satan’s wings are attached to his arms, requesting him to flap his arms in order to fly

other than shedding more frequently than most other angels, satan’s wings have no special properties

his large wingspan allows him to conserve energy by not needing to flap as much in order to take flight

when in smaller spaces he tucks his arms in, surrounding himself in his wings in a bat-like manner

he considers his wings to be at rest when his arms are comfortably at his sides. allowing his wings all the space they need

smuggles various items easily due to his wing placement and is constantly stopped by lucifer and raphael on suspicion of this

asmo

both at rest and in flight, asmo’s wings are heart shaped

his feathers’ special property causes them to refract light into a rainbow of colors, as well as reflect light so his wings appear to be glowing

asmo loves entertaining other angels with his self-proclaimed ‘light shows’ where he sings and dances as his wings act as a colorful disco ball

simeon will scold asmo for this, usually along the lines of ‘do not be so self-absorbed. it is a sin, and one the celestial realm has enough of’ lucifer shade ooh

he is very particular about keeping his wings in pristine condition

only allows lucifer, satan, or levi to preen his wings for him. he otherwise takes the day off to clean them himself

his wing flaps are graceful but slower than average

often will have accessories littered throughout his wings until lucifer instructs he remove them while on duty

beel

beel’s wings are almost as tall and as heavy as himself, which benefits him as a sort of guardian angel

the mass of his wings are mostly muscle, feathers thinly covering the skin

it’s said beel’s feathers are heavier than the average angel feather, but that’s been up for debate for centuries, most angels divided on the topic

if not flying, his wings are always at rest.

even in combat, he finds the naturally coarse texture of his wings more useful folded in rather than spread

otherwise, beel’s feathers have no special properties

debris can always be found in beel’s wings, wether it be dirt, crumbs, or entire servings of food

snuggles one of his wings when he sleeps

is surprisingly aware of the space his wings take up, not usually hitting others

belphie often preens beel’s wings daily but will fall asleep before the job is sone

belphie

belphie’s wings are as long as beels

at rest his wings drag behind him as he lazily trudges

very soft compared to other angel wings

wraps himself up comfortably in his wings when sleeping

his feathers’ special property allows him to roughen the texture of his feathers to that of beel’s— this can be controlled at will

when curled beneath his wings on a bright day, he is sometimes mistaken for a similar looking bush

when startled in this state, he will roughen his feathers, allegedly out of shock, and prick whoever dared to interrupt his slumber

seems to be weak at first glance, but when he has no other choice, belphie’s wings excel in all areas expected of an angel his class

will let only beel or satan preen his wings— occasionally mammon as well but only beel knows that

So saying this as I've seen some bullshit today, There is no way to be a trans woman and not be seen as creepy or a freak by transphobes no matter how much you try to make yourself "one of the good ones" make yourself ultra fem, remove even the smallest bit of sexuality from yourself and pass to the highest degree. You will be treated the exact same way those who do not pass are kinky or are butch are treated by transphobes. There is no perfect box to fit in to please them there is no way to be a trans woman that will not draw their ire and those who do not fit your drawn guidelines of how to be are not the reason for your discrimination. The discrimination you face is not because you or others don't fit neatly enough into this box it's because they don't want us to exist the sooner you realise this the better.

"people only pick on trans people because they're easy targets" yeah no shit they're easy targets just like flat earthers and antivaxxers. what they believe is absolutely fucking insane when you think about it for more than 2 seconds.

the idea of trans is no different from the idea of predestination.

predestination says only those who have been chosen by god will be saved and will go to heaven. how do you know you're predestined? there is literally no way to tell externally. there is no test you take to make sure you're predestined. you just have to put your faith in jesus and know, internally, in your heart, or whatever. funny how literally everyone who believes this also happens to be one of the ~chosen ones~.

the idea of being trans is that some people are born in the wrong body. how do you know you're born in the wrong body? there is literally no external way to tell, aside from maybe a few "am I trans?" quizlets (which as we all know are 100% accurate always and only made by professionals and not 12 year old furries). you just look inside, or whatever, and somehow "know" or you decide for yourself. then, based on your own self-reporting, which you have no way to externally verify, you expect people to bend to your will and you expect society to give you special privileges that no one else gets. no other man gets to pee in the ladies' or compete in women's sports but once you self-id as trans? well, right this way "ma'am", pay no mind to the women cowering in fear of you. their rights don't matter nearly as much as your feelings. funny how damn near everyone who believes in this also happens to be trans themselves, will a few outliers.

even "gender critical" transes like mr. blaire white and ms. buck angel will talk in hours upon hours of videos about the importance of gatekeeping and protecting women's spaces, yet /they/ demand the exact same privileges as every other "fake" (in their words) trans person on tiktok. do you seriously think "fake" trans people are going to listen to you and suddenly not go into the women's? No! are you fucking kidding me? it's so much easier to tell a buck or a blaire to fuck off than it is to a delusional fetishist who will 100% either hurt you or make a scene. there is no "true trans" because EVERYONE claims to be truly trans, everyone from bruce jenner to the "IT IS MA'AM" gamestop dude.

it fucking baffles me how youtube skeptics - people i used to admire, people who taught me how to think critically about shit - will spend all damn day dunking on flat earthers and creationists but will turn a blind eye to the trans cray and will even go as far as to support them. they think they're so above it all and they can't be fooled, but they have been, and I keep waiting for them to snap out of it - just like I waited for my own family to snap out of christianity - but they haven't.

if you seriously think a dress and some hormones and plastic surgery will make a man into a woman, you're insane, and you're no more crazy than a youtuber who thinks antarctica is an ice wall or a pastor who still prays to his "sky daddy". you have no right to make fun of these people for the insane shit they believe when you believe in this nonsense. you are quite literally the pot calling the kettle black.

and if you're one of those people who's like "oh well i know they're not actually women i just call them that to avoid hurting their feelings" im sorry but you're still in this cult, you're physically in but mentally out and the only way to really get out is to call a spade a spade, admit the emperor has no clothes, admit you were fooled just like me - just like all of us - and speak out against it.

Personal challenge: a simple sketch each day

Goal: forcing me to keep things simple - inking, shading, just a few sashes of colour

Improvement pursued: to get the movement, the emotion, finding how to add depth, learning how to leave things barely finished

Max time allowed: 2 hours, as usual for my Daily Challenges. Well, this is a very special Tribute for me, and I was on a three-days break. So I didn’t really set a timer for the « On Thin Ice » sketches. Plus, I drew them quite in the same time and on the same file to be sure Crowley and Aziraphale would match. I guess I spent more or less 3 hours on the lineart for each one of them (the clothes and the figures needed a lot of time), plus 1h30-2h on the colouring/shading for each one.

Be aware that in my first sketches for this project, Crowley and Aziraphale were supposed to train on the same ice rink, and I dearly wanted Crowley to be watching Aziraphale, and Aziraphale was supposed to glance back to him. I had to give up on this idea later – because the figure I chose for Aziraphale definitely couldn’t allow such a shared glance. (but, hello, it will be a triptyque ! So, guess what? About the third part… :-p)

About Aziraphale, as my « Falling Angel ».

« On Thin Ice » author, @blairamok, describes the Hydroplane ice skating figure as very representative of Aziraphale, and the drawing reference pictures were numerous enough to get some solid inspiration. It’s a complex skating figure. I have watched some ice skating tutorials on YouTube – because I wanted the movement of the clothes and hair to be accurate and, if I understand everything properly, even a slight alteration in the position of the arms can make you fall. Such perfection ! That IS the right move for Aziraphale !

I told sooner on my Gymnast !AU challenge that I appreciated drawing Aziraphale with realistic curves more and more each day – even if it still triggers me sometimes about my own shaming roundnesses. I realised my way of doing art – and my mind too, maybe - was evolving when I got back to check references in the amazing Blair artworks (link AO3). A few months ago, I felt insecure watching Blair’s Aziraphale, which seemed to me too much plump and very soft – not a « good sportive look », I thought then. But now I like him more and more, so maybe my way of thinking is changing, and I think this is for the very best.

My Aziraphale is performing a difficult figure, so he is using all his muscles into maintaining his balance. He seems so statuesque, so powerful, yet very focused and oblivious to the world around him, with his eyes shut. That is why he couldn’t share a glance with my Crowley. T.T

Maybe this is my way to guess Aziraphale’s behavior in the so-awaited « On Thin Ice » next chapters. Focused on his own training, trying to ignore Crowley’s sassyness but still secretly impressed by his partner’s skills. Because they share the same love for Ice Skating, even if they don’t show it in the same way.

Blair, if you ever read this, thank you. For your artworks, for making us dream about a wonderful story that still remains to be told.

Thank you for « On Thin Ice », for your so-kind message last week, and for everything else.

I have faith. I’ll wait for your story. But even if it doesn’t exist yet, I am already dreaming about it, and this is priceless.

as mother and twitch streamer ecelare.tv once said. parents should find a show to binge while settling a child down

and finding a show to binge is exactly what neuvillette did.

(its gossip girl. he's so invested in season 1. do not spoil the rest of the seasons in the comments because ying is still watching season 1)

neuvillette now brings his tablet in with him to the melusine's room each time its his turn to settle them down...

its so contradictory its hilarious. serena and blair are fighting while little puca, iara and mela are about to doze off.

sometimes, neuvillette gets too invested in the plot..

"oh. the girls are fighting." he whispers, hoping the children can't hear him

little iara sleepily blinks at him

"the girls are fighting, papa?" she asks quietly, rubbing her eyes.

"go back to sleep, ma poupette." he apologises and runs his hand through her hair, the sound of her breathing the only sound now in the room. gossip girl has been silenced. serena and blair are now reduced to lipsyncing upper east siders

"papa? i can't sleep." the tired, frustrated voice mela breaks the silence of the room – as well as neuvillette's concentration on the little tablet screen in front of him.

"well, what can i do to make it better, angel?" he peers down at her, bending down to her eye level from her bed.

"sing, papa?" mela begs, resting her head on her pillow once again.

"you want me to sing? darling, i can't promise you that i'll sound very good," he chuckles. nevertheless, an attempt is heard throughout the room – a soft, sweet, fontainian lullaby.

"Bonne nuit cher trésor, Ferme tes yeux et dors, Laisse ta tête s’envoler, Au creux de ton oreiller, Un beau rêve passera, Et tu l’attraperas, Un beau rêve passera, Et tu le retiendras."

"Good night, dear treasure. Close your eyes and sleep, let your head fly away in the hollow of your pillow. A beautiful dream will pass, and you will catch it. A beautiful dream will pass, and you will remember it."

little mela falls asleep as the last notes fade out, his gentle humming setting the rhythm of his fingers that found their place, running through mela's hair.

"good night, papa."

"good night, ma fée."
