#because people have lied so much about him you cannot trust anything!!

It's kind of difficult to discern what's true about E and what isn't, because so much of what's been written about him directly conflicts with other things. So it's hard to keep track of what's really true and what's just rumor that got twisted and blown out of proportion.
Me personally, I tend to not trust Lamar, Nash or the Stanleys, because they've all been proven to at best, not have the best memory of things, or at worst be outright liars for money.
I agree completely and throughout my journey of reading about Elvis I’ve learned to not take anything as truth until I have cross referenced between books/interviews and it’s been confirmed by multiple people or at least coincides with behavior that Elvis usually exhibited
** I also highly highly recommend elvislibrary (who is on Instagram and has the biggest elvis book collection I’ve ever seen😫) as well as elvisinfonet for books reviews, whenever I start a new book I usually check out their reviews beforehand as they give great insight to whether the book is credible or not
I have discovered that literally anyone who has breathed the same oxygen as Elvis has come out and shared a story or written a book about him. This man was even more exploited after his death than while he was living and it just angers me. Everyone who knew him has made money off of him in some way and I realized that people will say anything if they think it is a story that will sell
And “Baby let’s play house” by Alanna Nash was actually the first Elvis book I ever read, and foolishly, I believed every story in it, no matter how outrageous it was. Then I started to do a little basic research and I realized she has allowed so many fabricated stories in her book and has given a platform to several people who aren’t credible
Like the whole relationship with Tura Santana never happened and Elvis never even met her even though she claims he proposed, yet Alanna Nash shared her story. And Elvis did not publicly dry hump the fake dog Nipper on stage like she claims, he just wiggled 😭 And Nash uses Byron Raphael as a source, who she co-wrote a playboy article with in 2008, when it’s been confirmed that he never actually worked for Elvis and only very briefly worked for the Colonel (and the playboy article is full of the most blatant lies ever, I cannot believe this woman is regarded as a credible biographer 🤧!!!)
As you said, I’m very wary of Lamar Fike also, he tends to over-exaggerate things and I found his perception of events to be a whole lot different from others when they are describing the same stories
As for the Stanleys, Dee is literally one of the nastiest people you will ever learn about in the Presley circle and it truly disgusts me that Elvis treated her and her sons so kindly (even though he didn’t like her) and she repaid him by going to a tabloid magazine and telling a made up story to make money
What’s most disgusting is that she made up lies about two people she never even met (Gladys Presley and Nick Adams) and only used people who had already passed away as sources for her book like saying that Vernon Presley, Minnie Mae (Elvis’ grandmother) and Alberta (former maid), all knew that Elvis was in a s*xual relationship with his mother. Obviously all these people weren’t here to say otherwise and that is why she wrote the book (I hate that woman so muchhh that I’m getting mad just typing this 💀)
Ricky and David I’m not too crazy about either but I give them a little bit of respect for calling out their mother and saying her book was full of lies
Tumblr media
Honestly the only Stanley books worth reading are by Billy Stanley and I really loved his two books “The faith of Elvis” and “Elvis: My Brother”, I found his insight really unique and I really really appreciated his honesty (if y’all didn’t know Elvis had a brief affair with Billy’s 18 year old wife named Annie, and it was a mess 😭!!!)
If y’all want to be entertained Dee Stanley went on the Geraldo talk show in the 90s alongside Joe Esposito and J.D Sumner to talk about the whole Gladys story and they absolutely drag her 😫 J.D lowkey wanted to slap her and I don’t blame him at all
unfortunately some of the audience believes her about Gladys so that was frustrating to watch but other than that, Dee gets absolutely humiliated 😃

Signs Serizawa knows Reigen has no powers
The Reigen spinoff implies that Reigen hasn't told Serizawa who he really is yet. I think plenty of people have taken this to mean that Serizawa is still unaware, but I disagree. I'm fairly certain that Serizawa already knows the truth and has accepted it, not caring to call Reigen out for his lies because they don't matter that much to him.
Read ahead for a long list because I have no life...
Tumblr media
1) Mob's memories
We don't really know what exactly Serizawa saw from Mob's memories (we catch a few glimpses in the anime, but we don't know how many memories he saw nor how clearly he actually did). However, it could be enough for Serizawa to know what Mob knew at the time—maybe not that Reigen is powerless entirely, but at least that he is lying about what he is truly capable of.
2) Serizawa probably overheard the conversation between Toichiro and Reigen
I mean, he jumps in to save Reigen at the perfect time, so I feel like he was watching the conversation leading up to that point from the sidelines. Toichiro called Reigen out for being a powerless fraud, and Reigen did not confirm but he also did not deny it.
3) Serizawa only defied Toichiro when he was going to attack Reigen
The fact that Serizawa finally decides to defy Toichiro at that key moment... I feel like he was only able to muster up that courage because he knew it was a matter of life or death for Reigen. He knew that Reigen wouldn't be able to defend himself like Mob or Shou could, so he finally decided to act then despite knowing it would betray the man he admired most.
4) Serizawa never questions why Reigen is unable to do certain things
Granted, a lot of this is just how Serizawa is as a person, as he's not the confrontational type at all and tends to just go with the flow. However, even Mob questioned Reigen sometimes, like pointing out that he should've been able to see weak spirits or asking why he didn't do anything to help. Serizawa never does, he never really expects Reigen to do anything regarding spiritual matters. Serizawa never questions why Reigen does nothing in the yokai fight, for example.
People might point to times where Serizawa leaves Reigen to do something on his own (i.e. the train ova where Serizawa leaves Reigen in the parallel dimension or the scene in Season 3 where Serizawa initially says nothing while Reigen holds a cursed object). However, I don't think it necessarily means Serizawa thinks Reigen has powers, I think it just means Serizawa trusts Reigen's experience in the field. Serizawa may be a powerful esper, but he has little experience using his powers in an actual job.
In the train OVA, Serizawa was just following advice from a business handbook that said to never question one's boss. I think it's notable that the moment Reigen tells Serizawa he can make decisions for himself, the first thing Serizawa says is "Please, let me help you somehow." It feels like that was something Serizawa wanted to do this whole time, but Reigen kept telling him to leave him to his investigation and he felt like he had to listen.
A similar mindset is why Serizawa just lets Reigen hold a really cursed object and doesn't say anything about it until Reigen asks him. Serizawa was just too used to blindly leaving things to his superior rather than following what he thought was right.
5) Serizawa tries to stop Reigen from entering the storm
When Reigen and Serizawa try to brave the storm caused by Shigeo, Serizawa says that they cannot continue as his powers are being drained. Reigen tells him that he will go forward on his own, claiming he'll be fine, but Serizawa says "there's no way you'll be fine!"
Those aren't the words of someone who believes Reigen has any powers, in my opinion. Those are the words of someone who knows Reigen is utterly powerless and sincerely believes that him braving the storm will be a death sentence. If someone as powerful as Serizawa can't brave the storm, how could Reigen possibly survive?
6) Serizawa never refers to Reigen as a psychic
PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG. However, I genuinely do not recall any scene where Serizawa refers to Reigen as a psychic or even mentions Reigen having powers. Even Mob, despite questioning Reigen's honesty, referred to him as a strong psychic from time to time. Serizawa never does that, as far as I can tell.
Anyway, that's all the evidence I can think of. Thanks for reading if you made it this far 😭

"allow me to comfort you?"

a/n: decided to double post this week because i have exams and this is my way to destress, enjoy :)
ps... this is not very well proofread
Tumblr media
opening your eyes in the morning is normally quite a peaceful feeling, especially when your boyfriend is with you, as he would normally have his arms wrapped around you, lovingly awakening you from your slumber. however, today seemed different, or rather, tonight.
you were awakened to the feeling of movement, and a rather dragonic looking man stirring next to you in bed.
was he having a dream? a bad one? you could’ve sworn this was the first time this had happened, and you weren’t sure what to do.
after a moment, you sat up, and decided to awaken him, as you could see the golden patterns on his arms glowing every few seconds, which after knowing him for a while, you came to figure meant he was in some sort of distress.
you grabbed his arm and started to move your hand up and down gently, as to not startle the man too much. some people might think its a risk not worth taking, to awaken a literal sleeping dragon, and even you knew the man had the potential to hurt you, but he never would. you trusted him, more than anything.
after turning on the lamp at the bedside, you began making more effort to awaken the man.
“zhong. my love, wake up”
after about thirty seconds of attempting to awaken him, the man suddenly sprung upwards, breathing heavily, and catching hold of his surroundings. he scanned around him, before grabbing onto your hand and looking down, closing his eyes.
shortly after you began to hear gentle sobs from the man. surely this can't be right. rex lapis, crying…?
“hey, what happened? you okay?”
you quickly realised however, that these questions were pointless, and that he was not going to respond. instead, you opted for pulling him closer to you, wrapping one of your arms around his broad shoulders, and holding his hand with the other, gently stroking his thumb.
his gentle sobs continued for a few minutes, before you moved your hand from his and used it to pull his head to your chest, where you presumed he could perhaps find some solace as you ran your fingers through his hair.
when his sobs finally slowed down, it took him a moment to pipe up.
“surely this position is uncomfortable for you, aren’t my horns hurting you, or digging into you somewhere? i can make them g-”
“shh, i’m okay. promise.”
“v-very well”
after another moment of silence, he spoke again…
“i am... sorry for awakening you. i cannot remember the last time this happened, but it was truly long ago”
“my love, you have nothing to apologise for. do you want to talk about it?”
“i suppose it would be improper of me not to offer up an explanation after so crudely awakening you like this… i dreamt that… they left me”
“they left you…? who?”
“the liyuean people. i dreamt that they abandoned everything here, that their archon was no longer worthy and-”
was he crying? again?
“hey, you’re okay. it was only a dream”
“i’m sorry, i do not have these experiences often, which means that they only feel more real to me”
you wipe the tears from beneath his eyes, and lean up to place a gentle kiss to the top of his forehead.
it was still an odd sight to see zhongli crying.
"i know, darling, i know”
“may i talk to you about something? If you wouldn’t mind lending an ear?”
“that's exactly what i'm here for, ‘li”
“very well. truthfully i sometimes feel as though a lot of my person is a façade. of course i am required to believe that i am powerful, otherwise i would not hold my position amongst the seven, but honestly i sometimes feel that i am not enough for the people here in liyue. i have given them everything i have, but what if that is not enough? what if one day, liyue, rex lapis, morax and zhongli are all left in the dust. what if it is all forgotten? if my efforts are put to waste?”
“zhong. when was the last time you interacted with a liyuean? they all know that you care for them more than anything, do not let your own self doubt get in the way of that, or you will become blinded by your insecurities. you are doing a good job, take it slowly. after all, fate awaits us all, and there is very little that can be done about it. i promise you, the people of liyue love you. i love you”
“i love you as well, dear. sometimes i just worry.”
“i know. i cannot even begin to imagine the amount of pressure you are under.”
you used your hand to tilt his face towards yours, before easing his worries with a kiss.
“shall we lay down dear? i still feel apologetic for waking you up”
“sure, but just this once, allow me to comfort you?”
“very well”
you moved to lie flat on your back, as zhongli moved himself closer to you, resting his head upon your chest.
“is this okay?”
he asked, wondering if the position was comfortable for you. after all the man did have literal horns poking out of his head.
“mhm! can i play with your hair?”
“please, do. that sounds ever so pleasant at this moment in time.”
and so you moved your fingers to entangle in his hair, gently massaging his scalp as he let out a large yawn, wrapping himself tighter around you.
“i love you, y/n”
“love you too, ‘li”
after a few moments of pleasant silence, you piped up again, with intentions to ask the man if he had calmed down any.
“zhong?”
“zhong~?”
ah. he was sleeping.
“sleep well, prince”
and all of a sudden, began a low, rumbling, purring noise, from somewhere in the mans chest. an ability you were completely unaware he had, but for some reason the sound soothed you, and let you know he was calm, and happy in your presence.
you placed a gentle kiss to his head once again, before drifting off into your own slumber.
Tumblr media
you awakened to the feeling of gentle kisses being placed upon your shoulder, by none other than zhongli himself, who was obviously very impatiently waiting for you to wake up.
“ah, you're awake. good morning, dear”
“mmm, morning zhong”
“did you rest well?”
“i did. you?”
“me too”
“why of course, i'm not sure why i asked”
“what is that supposed to mean…?”
“you started purring in your sleep last night”
“i did WHAT?!"

So I was thinking about the "I'm a demon. I lied" line. Because it's easy to remember the "just an angel/demon that goes alone with heaven/hell as much as he can" parallel, but there's another line that gets repeated twice in the minisode, right?
And the thing that got me thinking is, the first time, well, it wasnt true. When they meet Job's children and Crowley goes "Im here to destrroooyy you all" (10/10 delievery would watch again) and Aziraphale is all "but you said you wouldnt kill them!" and Crowley delievers the first "I'm a demon, I lied" line.... he doesnt kill the kids. He hasnt been lying.
So later on, when Aziraphale confronts him about the lonely line, and Crowley admits to having lied about not being lonely... What if that, too, wasnt exactly a lie?
One thing that didnt sit right for me, with all this talk about lying, is that season 1 Crowley made a point of never having lied to Aziraphale. I cannot exacly remember the line but it was something like "when have I ever lied to you?" and Aziraphale went all "well you are a demon it's in the job description" and Crowley brushed it off with a "well im not lying" and they kept on talking about the hellhound. But Crowley is not a liar: on the contrary, season 1 heavily played with the subversion trope of the angel that lied (I dont know where the antichrist is, Crowley, I dont even like you, Crowley) and the demon who was honest, direct, even trusting.
I get that this wasnt to be taken so literally, and things can have different levels of meaning, but the focus that they put on the lying part is intentional, so that took me back to the original point: what if Crowley, in the Job minisode, hadnt been lying at all?
The thing is, when he almost killed the kids, at first he wanted Aziraphale to believe him. He wanted for Aziraphale to take him seriously as a demon, to frighten him a bit, and he wanted to prove him wrong, to some extent. See, you dont really know me. See, Im not the angel you mentioned before. But at the end of the day, it was a mask. Crowley hadnt lied.
So what about the lonely part? Aziraphale thought he was going to hell, and Crowley swore to not tell anyone. Some could argue it was the first time Crowley actually saved him. Ans then they kept talking.
Now, picture this: you are a demon, who is different from all the other demons, and pretty soon you decided to create your own side, so to speak. You meet this gorgeous angel who gave away his sword and is kind to you and you think that maybe, you know, maybe. Then you meet him again before the flood and you think that you must have been wrong, that he is actually just like the rest of them, because how could he stand there and watch God kill all those people? All those kids? So you truly are alone. But then. But then. Then you see him again and he talk about saving Job's kids, he wants you to go against God's plan, and he eats something that you offer him, and you talk, and you think yes, this one, this one.
That night, when he tells Aziraphale that he is "just a demon that goes along with hell as much as he can", and Aziraphale asks him if he is lonely, Crowley doesnt really have to lie.
And then, on thar bench, in the most absurdly beautiful scene ever conceived, Aziraphale is so distressed when Crowley tells him that he is "an angel who goes along with heaven as much as he can" (basically saying that they are on their own side for the first time but its fine I dont have any strong feeling on this topic or anything).
But Aziraphale looks so sad.
And its clear that its far too early for any of those talks, that Aziraphale is still brainwashed and they have spoken for a total of maybe 4 times in a millennia, so Crowley retreats. And he goes back to the lonely line.
But when he said that he wasnt lonely, he wasnt lying. He has never lied to Aziraphale, back from the beginning.
So that's it, tell me what you think about it! I may be getting it wrong but its been buggering me for a while, and I'd love to hear your opinion on this!

Hi! I hope you're having a nice night or day. May I request the bnha class 1-a characters you write for + the types of people they'd hate to be around? Basically just the people they can't stand, whether it's platonically or romantically. Thank you!
(Some manga spoilers in shoji and aoyamas part)
Izuku can stand mean people, if the treatment he received from kacchan for so long is anything to go by. But you’d have to be a special kind of mean, the kinda mean that doesn’t come from a place of some form of mistreatment, or some inferiority complex, or even because you just don’t know any better. He cannot stand people that will just pick on others for the sake of it. In his eyes, kacchan is a good person, even if he was a bit cruel in his younger days. But he hates a person that’s clearly terrible, through and through, and there’s no true reason behind it, you’re just straight up terrible. Like a comic book villain with no character depth, just straight up, no morales, just a terrible human being.
Kacchan can’t stand people he sees as weak. As he grows, his idea of weak changes. Nowadays, he can’t stand somebody who talks big and then cowers when it comes to a fight, or has the audacity to look down on others when they’re as pathetic as a koalas entire fucking existence is. (I fucking hate koalas holy shit.) Hes no stranger to putting up a front for other people, but he’s still real about who he is and he hates anyone that plays pretend for the world. He does not hide behind a facade, even if he can’t be honest about how he feels, even if he has to act tough, he’s not a liar about who he truly is and what his ideals are. He hates somebody that is too ashamed of themselves to be honest about who they truly are. Because to him, that’s fear. And to him, letting fear control you like that, to that point, is weakness.
Shoto can’t stand people that are inconsiderate and selfish. The reason he adores his class so much is because he sees the good in everyone, their kindness, their selflessness, how considerate they are of eachother, even bakugou is in his own way. But somebody that simply doesn’t care for anyone but themselves reminds him all too well about why his family fell apart to begin with, because his father was selfish and far too focused on himself and what he wanted. If you tend to be selfish but show remorse for it, and are trying to be better, he wouldn’t mind you so much. He minds people that are unapologetically selfish and simply don’t care for others. To him, it’s a dangerous trait for anyone to have.
Ejirou hates anyone that isn’t an honest person, compulsive liars annoy him and he can’t stand being around somebody he can’t trust. Ejirou is an honest guy, and is pretty much an open book. So he doesn’t understand how people could ever pride themselves in being fake. It’s completely foreign to him and he’ll never understand. He doesn’t mind small lies, and it’s not like he’s gonna deny lies all together but he can’t trust somebody who consistently lies about things. Important things or even things that don’t matter, if it’s constant he doesn’t like it, simply put.
Denki hates being around people that are overly snobby. He really can’t stand being around overly confident rich kids (bakugou doesn’t count because he isn’t snobby lol). It’s not like he minds his rich friends, he likes em! Maybe he’s a little jealous but that’s all! But he really can’t stand somebody snobby and judge-mental just because people happen to have less than you or whatever the reason may be for your bitchiness. He doesn’t mind somebody that’s bitchy, he deals with bakugou on a everyday basis. However, he does mind somebody that’s bitchy just because they happen to be rich and often brag about the money they have.
Sero cannot stand people that prey on the weak in order to make themselves feel better. How pathetic do you have to be? Honestly, nothing makes him more angry and it’s partially why he wants to be a pro hero so much. He wants to protect others from the likes of people that abuse their power and pick on those in weaker positions. He wants to be a person high in power, but for the good reasons. He would despise bakugou in junior high, but at the same time he is all for people changing and becoming better people. Seeing you first hand be a shit person to the “weak” would seriously piss him off.
Ochako hates people that simply revel in hatred, who enjoy it. She thinks it’s sad, people like that probably don’t have much going for them and don’t have much to enjoy in life if they enjoy hating others and others hating them. While she may sympathize with you she still can’t stand you, and everything it is you stand for. She can’t be around somebody that brings drama everywhere they go and is always itching for a fight, or to hurt other peoples feelings. It’s so attention seeking it’s embarrassing. If she didn’t feel so bad for you, she’d tell you off a lot more.
Mina can’t find it in her to hate most people, but she will say she cannot stand people that are… well… sadistic. Even in a sexual manner and even if it’s a consensual thing she just… hates it. Like way more than the average person. She thinks you’re horrible.. so HORRIBLE for enjoying peoples suffering and while that’s how most people would feel she has a special hatred for people like that and it makes her stomach turn and it makes her feel so unpleasant, even if it’s just bullying and poking fun, if you enjoy doing that so much, for the sake of just seeing somebody cry it sickens her.
Momo can’t stand people with next to no manners. The kinda people that would pick their nose in a public space, those kinda people just disgust her. A lot more petty than everyone else on this list but she was raised a certain way and she just can’t believe that some people aren’t the same? Most people on this list would find it gross but not enough to hate them, but momo finds herself really being unable to be your friend because who does that so openly? She doesn’t even hate bakugou like that, and he’s rude as hell. She doesn’t even mind him that much but even she can get annoyed with some of the conversations she overhears him have. She’s not a snob or anything, she just values politeness a lot.
Jirou can’t stand people that make fun of people for their interests. A personal thing she’s always hated, she used to always get made fun of for wanting to be a pro, whilst having a passion for music. It’s caused her to have some issues with it herself, so she just hates anyone that makes fun of people for enjoying something they love. They’re not doing anything wrong! It’s not a crime to have a hobby. She understands criticisms of different things people enjoy, but shitting on somebody for their interests isn’t rocking at all, in her opinion.
Tsu can’t stand people that don’t listen. If it’s an accident, she can get over it cause she knows it’s not their fault, but if it’s because you clearly don’t care and it’s on purpose it can be upsetting because it’s clear you don’t care about how she feels or what she has to say. This is a pretty standard thing to hate in a person, but she hates it especially. She hates being ignored in general, so this is a bit more than just a pet peeve and she’s not against dropping you rather quickly over it either.
Tokoyami can’t stand people that act kind but secretly are just snobby assholes. The audacity you have to act like you care for others, when in reality you’re simply using them for your own benefit. The audacity you have to act kind, and when somebody realizes it? You act like a victim? Truly annoying. He hates people like that and he’s not one to shy away from calling you out on that shit either. He can never get over it, how can somebody be like that? The hawks situation, with twice really eats him up inside. Somebody he idolized so much, could he really be like that. Could he? Was he just pretending to be a carefree bird, or was he just so carefree he didn’t even care if he murdered a man? Things like this keep him up at night.
Shoji hates people that discriminate against others. Of course, everyone on this list does but naturally he has a special distain for it, as somebody that’s been hurt and discriminated against for his appearance. He will hold a special hatred for you, especially if you’re in UA with him. How could somebody aim to be a hero but be … like that?
Aoyama would hate somebody with villainous traits to them. Perhaps it’s because it reminds him of who he is. That he’s no better than a villain himself. Even if this wasn’t something he desired. He can’t stand being around people that use and abuse others. It just upsets him to his very core.
iida hates people that seek vengeance. It’s obvious why. He hates those that are vengeful, constantly looking for fights, even for the sake of others. It’s even worse if you’re being self righteous about it. It just reminds him of what he thinks is the worst mistake he ever made. He sees himself. He hates it so much it hurts to describe. So he finds himself constantly trying to change you, fix you. He knows it’s wrong though, you are who you are. He just happens to hate who you are.
Ojirou is a chill guy, you’ll find it’s very hard for him to hate people. But he hates people that are just… annoying. You’d have to be a special kinda annoying. The type to be overly two faced and talking shit about everyone you meet. Like a middle schooler. It’s just so tiring and draining to be around somebody so negative and he can’t stand it. But what he hates even more is that he’s acting like what he hates too. Because at the end of the day he acts nice, when he secretly hates your guts.

finally got around to putting this into words so here is my submission to the q!bad newsletter titled "q!bad is a good person but a bad human".
arcs like the one q!bad is on are naturally polarising and bring out a lot of strong emotions from views which is amazing, but i think a lot of people are missing the forest for the trees here -- more specifically, who we saw q!bad be for almost six months every day (who we still see him be now).
q!bad is a fundamentally good person by all accounts -- yes, he's a mischievous gremlin, but he's insurmountably generous, selfless in the way he gives without ever expecting anything in return, is dependable at every single turn. even in his lowest moments, he didn't turn his back on that dependability to his own detriment -- he prioritised everyone above himself, not just the eggs but also the other islanders.
q!bad is also... kind. not nice, i actually wouldn't call him nice per se, but he's kind, and loving, and gentle if you know how to read his actions -- just because his lovingness is at times odd to read, it doesn't mean it isn't there.
now, everything i've pointed out so far is not only factually true but also just a spot on indication of what makes a good person, right? well... yes, and no.
by human standards he's not a good person. he lies, cheats, is deceitful and cunning at every turn, is a gaslighter and a manipulator, and his moral compass ends when his emotional attachment does -- he won't hesitate to put his friends through tests and trials that he knows hurt them just to reach a goal, even if it's an ultimate "greater good" type goal.
luckily for q!bad, the man isn't fucking human and so the lense through which we see his character need to be adjusted not only to accommodate his life experience (as we would any character) but also the fact that he's just... not human, he can play pretend and he certainly has spent enough time around humans, but nature vs nurture only goes so far and he was a grown ass adult when he sunk atlantis.
it's honestly just painfully obvious that for better or for worse, q!bad doesn't function like humans do, and i think the best indicator of that is how he views interpersonal relationships, connections, love and trust.
for us, love and trust are intrinsically connected and ultimately need to be present for us to form attachments -- if we don't trust someone, we might get along with them at a superficial level but we won't engage further, right? q!bad sees those two as fundamentally separate parts of relationships -- you cannot argue he doesn't love his friends, or all the eggs, but does he trust everyone? no. because q!bad is very much capable of loving you without trusting you, because his default is distrust. while most of us start a connection with existing trust that can then be broken, he starts them with no trust that needs to be earned.
he doesn't see what's wrong about his friendship with q!foolish, he doesn't see the issue with having been sightseeing at the salem witch trials, pompeii is "the reason he doesn't do beach vacations" and not... yeno, a massive historical tragedy. for q!bad, all of these things are normal because he's a millennia old demon who fundamentally lacks the grasp on some pretty basic human concepts despite his time here (i.e. his whole conversation with q!baghera about lines and mortality).
my point being, q!bad is not a good human, he never claimed to be (on the contrary) and his recent actions show that very well...
... but he *is* a fundamentally good person, without question.
as long as you view the cubito through the lense of our own morality, you'll be depriving yourself of some pretty awesome insights into his character and also just not giving him a fair shake!
he's a terror! he's wiped out civilizations! he's eaten people! he is terrifying and bloody and dark! he's also just a little guy who makes care packages and watches kids and won't turn away anyone in need! all of this is him and for a fair analysis you need to consider the entirety of him for better and for worse!

Romantic Yan!Ramattra with omnic!Darling concept
Sure! I love him as a character so I'll see what I can do for him! I apologize if the lore appears wrong, I tried to research what I could!
Yandere! Ramattra with Omnic! Darling
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Violence, Manipulation, Revolution mention, Murder, Delusional behavior implied, Blood, Kidnapping, Forced conversion of beliefs, Death, Dubious/Forced relationship.
Tumblr media
I feel an Omnic! Darling would be the one to gain Ramattra's attention the quickest.
A human darling would take longer so as an Omnic you'd be trusted much faster.
Ramattra's goal is to make life better for his people, he wants to save the Omnics from the abuse of their masters.
I feel you being an Omnic can go one of two ways.
You agree with Ramattra's beliefs and join his cause in Null Sector... or you don't agree and still think there can be peace between Omnics and humans.
Let's start with the first one.
Ramattra would be pleased that you agree with him and wish to join him.
I'd imagine you'd try to help Ramattra in any way you can, becoming closer and closer to the leader.
After all... you two most likely met after he saved you from being forced to do work in this variation of the story.
You feel like you owe him your life and listen to his words like a prayer.
Ramattra probably falls for you because you're so loyal towards his cause.
In his eyes, sharing a close connection to you is proof Omnics are more than robotic slaves.
Ramattra may try to make you see his romantic feelings.
He takes you aside and tries to influence romantic feelings in you, or see if it's possible.
You do feel like you appreciate and owe Ramattra but the idea of something like this makes you unsure.
However, your leader tries to convince you there's nothing to fear.
Embracing such feelings with each other will prove that you are more than machine.
Ramattra is a charismatic leader with a noble goal, he'd use this to his advantage to gain his darling's trust and affection.
Why do you seem so hesitant?
Do you not trust him to care for you?
He tries to reassure you he'll always care for you, that he thinks you're worthy of forming such a connection with him.
Romantic attraction between Omnics is probably rare, but there has been instances of platonic connections before.
Maybe you see him as a brother in arms or beliefs, while he wants to challenge that for something more.
You're free, you can choose your own life.
So why don't you choose a new life with him?
He's your savior, yeah?
If you don't believe in his cause it's similar but more violent.
Ramattra would think that you're simply blinded by your masters.
You just don't know what's best for you as an Omnic.
You may think you have human friends, ones who care about you.
They don't.
Ramattra thinks it's the right thing to do when he barges into where you reside.
He thinks it's fine to slaughter the lives of your human friends.
So what if their blood coats the ground and walls?
It's nothing compared to the slaughter of your own people.
Humans can make more of themselves, Omnics cannot.
Your place is not amongst them.
Your place is with your people, with Ramattra.
Due to the lies poured into your head, there may be so trauma from seeing your past life go.
Yet Ramattra will he there to guide you to a new life, hopefully with him.
Don't look at their corpses.
Just look at him.
In either scenario, Ramattra would try to coerce you to trust him enough.
This is so he can encourage you into sharing a deeper connection with him.
Truth is, Ramattra hasn't felt anything this intense and special towards anyone else.
He didn't think he could as a War Machine.
So don't fret... it's all new to him too.
Pay no mind to the crimes he commits for you and his people.
He wants to learn how to love you... he wants to know what it feels like for an Omnic to love another Omnic.
Reproduction is impossible between you, but he still wants the connection.
In either scenario you may refuse or fear the idea.
Yet Ramattra will be here to try and guide you like he always has.
His affection towards you is mimicry, ironically that of human affection.
He tries to express his adoration for you but it's like it's not meant to be.
You feel he'd ruined you, even if you did trust him before, perhaps you wish he didn't push this so hard on you.
Overall and Omnic Darling would be more possible when it comes to Ramattra's beliefs.
Instead of forcing you to be a pet or something of the sorts like a human darling... he tries to gently push you into his love.
Regardless on if you wish to reciprocate such feelings towards him or not...
Ramattra believes you were built for one another... and he'll make you see how he sees things in the end no matter the cost.

I can't find it now but I saw a post where you said Erik's mask isn't a comfort item. Why do you think it isn't? Why would he get so angry at Christine if it wasn't?
Ok, I'm about to get ranty and it's not directed at you specifically so don't take it personally.
I hate the take that Erik's mask is his "security blanket" or his "comfort device" because it's incredibly LAZY.
It's fucking lazy. It's a lazy and reductive take and it almost always comes with the intent of woobifying Erik and villainizing Christine.
Erik does not find his mask comforting, he feels he has to wear it to conceal himself and if anything he gives the sense that he would much rather be able to live without it. He's angry at Christine for a few reasons and I speculate some of them are not even about Christine.
The most obvious and superficial reason is that his carefully laid plan has gone to shit
Tumblr media
Erik believed whole heartedly that if Christine didn't know what he looked like that she might be compelled to return to him if he let her go. My guess is that he had planned to try and win her over and wait to tell her the truth after they re-built some of the lost trust...trust lost because he lied to her...and kidnapped her.
Erik is a wee bit unhinged.
But I also think there's more to his freak out. This may be headcanon on my part but I always interpreted this
Tumblr media
As being something of a traumatized response. Not because the mask gives him comfort or something like that, but because when someone is deformed, especially back in that time period, people often stared or treated them like a horror novelty. Erik has no doubt endured a life time of people trying to look at his face as some kind of morbid curiosity to be gawked at and Christine snatching it may have put him back in that mindset and he is PISSED.
His bit about "Women being inquisitive" also strikes me as him referencing things that happened before. I almost wonder if Christine wasn't the first person to catch his interest and if he's tried this before with....horrible results.
It reads less like "Oh no! You took my safety blanket! Now I'm exposed and vulnerable!" and more akin to
Tumblr media
This specifically is why I hate the whole "mask is his comfort item" take because it makes Erik sound like a toddler throwing a tantrum because someone took his binky and paints Christine as being somehow in the wrong for wanting to see her kidnapper's face.
A thing she had already demanded of him previously which he denied without giving any explanation whatsoever. I cannot stress enough that Erik is the one with the power in this scenario. They are in his house, he has her trapped and he has been the older mentor/protector figure in her life for some time. The scale is tipped in HIS favor, not hers. I've always felt that at this point in their relationship her taking off the mask is, in a way, her trying to level the field because he's had her at such a disadvantage this whole time.
And that's not to say that Christine doesn't have feelings of some kind for Erik. Christine's feelings for Erik are messy and complicated but there is an undeniable fear and discomfort that she expresses over her captivity. She does pity him enough to come back, I think she also feels a lingering attachment to him, despite everything, but Erik keeps making. The. Worst. Possible. Choices.
To be clear, Christine is not in any way to blame for "provoking" Erik. He is a victim of the the time period and the society he lives in but he is not in any way shape or form CHRISTINE'S victim.
Erik isn't to blame for how he's been treated by the world at large and he's clearly been through some shit, he deserves sympathy but that doesn't make his treatment of Christine ok or make it Christine's job to give him affection and companionship.

I have literally just spent the last few days going through all of the twst supervillain au posts. ALL OF THEM.
It’s not 3 am here for like the third night in a row what are you talking about
I have so many thoughts and could ask so many questions but I am limiting myself for now because spamming is bad! No spamming, me! 😂
SO we got the event of Azul and the twins finding out that Yuu is the child of Crowley. And we got that little snippet saying Yuu wanted Azul to help them tell the other villains so they could just get it out of the way because they were tired of having it hang over their head.
BUT WE NEVER ACTUALLY GOT THOSE SCENES/THAT SCENE!
I wanna know how that wentttttt!!!! What happened?!?! How did it go??? Did Yuu tell them one on one? Or did they sit them all down together? How did each of them react to the news? I feel like it would have to be one on one because telling them altogether would be a recipe for a LOT of emotions all mixed together to create a volatile bomb.
Pleaseeeeee I wanna knowwwwwww!!! Please gift me us with your words of wonder oh supervillain AU writing deity!!!!!!
(Also I just wanted to say back when you were giving out names to everyone my first thought for a name for Kalim was just ‘Minion’ because you compared Jamil and Kalim to Megamind and Minion and I was like “that would be a total Jamil thing to do - just call Kalim ‘Minion’ because he was tired of Kalim getting all the attention in their civilian lives and this was supposed to be about JAMIL DANGIT so even though Kalim invited himself along he doesn’t get a cool name he just gets ‘Minion’ and Kalim would unironically love it. But then you named him Water Boy and that has the same energy lmao 😂)
Thank you so much for enjoying the supervillain AU so far!!
(Make sure you get some sleep though!! It’s important to try and maintain a regular sleep schedule!!)
And basically the answer to your question is that Yuu called a quasi-truce of sorts to sit down all the supervillains to deliver the news. Both because it was the easiest way to avoid the accusations of favoritism that would arise if the reporter went around one at a time, and ensured they’d only need to go through the whole thing once.
Of course, the other six supervillains are only willing to humor this because it’s Yuu that called it. They may have all brought their most trusted aides along with certain, ah, “safety measures” just in case anyone else tries anything, but even these are pretty tame compared to their usual fare. It’s a silent agreement that everyone is on their best behavior in front of their host.
Even if they’re a bit disgruntled by the fact that this meeting is being held in the second Monstro Lounge location, and Leviathan and the Leech twins are flitting around Yuu like a particularly jealous school of fish.
Worse, the reporter isn’t even telling them to stop.
And then Yuu finally comes out with what they want to say and—
Oh.
Oh, now the other supervillains can understand Azul’s protective impulses.
Vil and Idia are having the hardest time processing it and have the most questions, all told. Their mental image of Crowley and their mental image of Yuu are so different after all, it’s a struggle not to ask, “but has there actually been a paternity test and are we sure this isn’t just one of the world’s most depraved lies?”
In fairness, Crowley has done nothing to disabuse them of the notion that this isn’t the exact kind of behavior he would sink to if mildly inconvenienced.
Of all of them, Malleus and Riddle are probably taking it the best. After all, they both know what it’s like being the prized heirs of people who cannot afford to let them shirk their duties. Either because the well being of others’ depends on them taking up that mantle, or their parent’s pride.
Either way, they’ll support Yuu’s search for freedom from their villainous father’s legacy, by taking up the mantle of head of Night Raven themselves if need be.
Please give Leona and Jamil two to five minutes to reboot. Both have partially blue-screened at the motifs of being cast aside and the inesacabilty of family bloodline inherent in Yuu’s backstory. Once they’re back to normal, they’ll be some of Yuu’s staunchest defenders, but give them forty eight hours to process first.
Maybe eighty two.
After Yuu’s answered almost all the questions, Ace butts in, “So, you kept sticking your nose in ‘cause you wanted to get kidnapped?”
Yuu shrugs, “Not, not wanted? But it was a bit less nerve wracking if I knew I’d done something to merit being there, so to speak. Made it less likely that it was because you’d worked out my heritage.”
The other villains and minions nod, satisfied.
But Deuce pipes up with a worried frown curving his brow.
“So, does this mean you won’t be investigating our schemes anymore?”
A hush spreads through the room. All eyes are fixed on the reporter, waiting for their response with bated breath.
Yuu grins, a gloriously competitive spark in their eyes. “Oh, you wish.”

That's vaapad. Is the first thing Dustin thinks, barely registering that the one dropped into a defensive stance, indigo 'sabre held tightly, is Steve.
Spacer Steve. Cocky, charming, snarky, kind, jaded, force-null Steve. Holding a lightsaber the colour of Illium's sky just past sunset, when it turns from dusk to night, stars flickering on, Steve is furiously stabbing and slashing at Vader in a way few know how to.
Because Vaapad was Master Windu's form, one he partially invented. One that very few had the control and discipline to practice without slipping too far into the Dark. Dustin had only seen Master Windu in exhibition duels, not full combat. It's very different when it's real, Dustin thinks.
Beside Steve, complimenting every move with synchronicity that comes from only the deepest and sacred of trust, is Robin. Robin who is a bit clumsy and doesn't like blasters, who drifts off in her own world sometimes, who's hands flutter whenever they feel. Where his is the cusp of night, Robin's saber is a brilliant sunrise orange, a blur as she pushes into Vader's defenses.
"go!" Steve yells, his focus slipping for a moment enough that Vader knocks his weapon from his hands. Dustin cannot move, cannot feel the tugging of Lucas on his jacket, or Mike shaking his shoulders.
Until they found El, who had barely escaped years of inquisitor conditioning, he had been alone. Had thought himself one of the only Jedi left. He had told Steve and Robin this, and they had looked at each other for a long moment. Steve had said "we are no Jedi, but we will protect you."
But he'd lied. They were Jedi, now facing down a sith.
Robin throws her own 'sabre to Steve even as she pulls his to her hand. They wield the blades as naturally as their own.
"RUN, NOW!"
Steve doesn't look away from Vader, but releases the double grip he has and throws his hand toward them, an invisible shove that pushes them all back to the door. To the shuttle. To safety.
Someone pushes Dustin away from the doors, and he watches as Vader raises his first in tandem with Robin's feet lifting off the ground. Steve is clutching his leg even as he reaches towards her.
The doors close.
Dustin doesn't realize he's screaming until Erica slaps her hands to his cheeks and forces him to look at her. "You need to pull it together. It's not gonna help them if we just get caught now."
He nods. Mike warns them to strap in for the jump to hyperspace. The jolt barely registers over his shaking.
"hey, man. How...uh. how are you doing?" Lucas's voice is softer, max standing behind him, clutching his hand so hard his fingers are squished together.
All he can gasp out is "why didn't they tell me?"
The rest are silent for a moment. It's a betrayal, this secret Robin and Steve kept. Dustin has been alone, for so long. He wanted to be close to his lost culture, to the people that are now few and far between, scattered in the stars and hiding. Why would they deny who they were? Their own People? When they could have taught him so much, revived something thought lost.
Gently, Lucas sits down, pulling Max beside him, and weaves his fingers between Dustin's trembling ones. They sit together for a long time.
Eventually, Lucas swallows loudly.
"I think..." Lucas, Dustin realizes, has been shaking too. They have all watched their friends, people who they love and have spent so much time with, sacrifice themselves to protect them all from the Emperor's guard dog. "I think that they were protecting us, by not saying anything."
"what?"
"Dustin. They're in their twenties. They probably fought in the Clone Wars. I just. I don't think they lied, really, about themselves."
Dustin rears back. "they said they weren't Jedi! That's a lie!"
Erica stirs, from Dustin's other side. He hadn't realized she was holding him.
"maybe it's not to them. Maybe...maybe they think of themselves as people who used to be Jedi. But aren't anymore. Maybe that's how they dealt with the war."
"but..." Dustin has never considered himself anything other than a Jedi, cannot comprehend shrugging it off even in the face of the Empire. "But why?"
Max, who has been silent, sniffs. "Because everything else they said was true." Mike, who retired from the cockpit Will and joined their cuddling hums questioningly.
She sighs. "Steve fell in love during the war, and planned a future raising little babies with whoever it was. Robin had a grand romance that was never meant to be with a politician or something. They've known each other since they were small."
"just now, we know they were doing that while fighting the Separatists." Lucas said.
"exactly. Think about it. I don't know who Steve could have fallen in love with, but... Mike. Didn't your sister have to work with a Jedi Padawan a few years before the Clone Wars? Didn't you say she got...weird? After? Robin was always weird about your last name..."
Mike goes stuff, even as Dustin barely registers anything about his sister, focusing on who Steve could have loved. A horrible, horrible possibility comes to mind that makes too much sense for how sad, heartbroken, confused Steve was about the "break up".
"oh stars." Says Mike. "Robin was the Jedi Nancy fell in love with before she fell for Jonathan. Oh no. She even said the Jedi had an orange 'sabre. Holy kark!"
Dustin sobs. Erica presses her face into his shoulder.
"Steve fell in love with a Clone." Bursts from his lips.
"what?" There's an overlap of voices. Shock, horror, confusion mixed together.
He shrugs. "It's the only thing that makes sense. Max, remember when he told us? About when they decided to be together? He said his--his love" and Dustin doesn't know if he says it as a dirty thing because the Clone troopers killed his family, or because Jedi very rarely had romantic relationships and he was still too young to understand the complexities of them for Jedi, or something else entirely. "Wanted to raise his little brothers. Protect them. Steve wanted...well I guess he must've wanted to be a creche master. They wanted to do it together. In the temple, at home."
Max joins. "He said That they'd spent a long time working together with his Ma, so--oh kriff, his force damned Master! That has to be it, right Dustin? That's like a parent for Jedi right? He...Steve said he watched her die. Watched...watched his lover die."
They are all silent, for a moment.
"do you think...do you think Steve had to kill him?" Mike asks, when only the rumble of hyperspeed fills the space.
Max counters with "Robin said she was on Coruscant when the Republic fell. What do you think she had to do? What she saw?" Dustin knows. Dustin saw the hallways. Saw the men in white armour who they all thought were friends massacre them in their home, led by some sith apprentice.
"I think they did what they had to to keep each other alive." Will says.
No one can argue with that.

Okay I wanted to offer my perspective on why Qfoolish lied.
Qcellbit during the interrogation flat out told foolish if he found out he was keeping something from him he would never trust foolish again, their friendship would be gone.
So when foolish went to go tell Jaiden about what happened he asked “ who else has the warp here “ and she said cellbit
Immediately he looked at chat and he may have sounded like normal but that’s when the idea popped in his head.
If the only people who have this warp is foolish and cellbit ( and Roier I think Jaiden just forgot LOL ) then obviously she trusts cellbit alot and would most likely be telling cellbit anything that foolish would say to her.
Now do I believe Jaiden did this maliciously? Absolutely not. As soon as foolish said his lie about there being a choice I think she was relieved she could defend foolish because she’s been in a very similar spot of a lot of people not trusting her.
But I think In foolishs mind this was a test. A test to see if Jaiden genuinely would keep this a secret. And low and behold she didn’t. He even said to her after she came back to confess she didn’t keep it a secret he thought she might not which was him leading on maybe he said something not true.
Even the next day after officially being recruited as The federations detective ( which btw was filled with so much manipulation oh my god someone save foolish ) he talked to her as soon as they got back to his house!
“ I’m sure you might tell people “
I think he lied to try and save himself bcs he knew to other people arresting two of your friends because of a capybara called Mr. mustard is stupid. But foolish and Leo genuinely care about Mr. mustard. They want him to be safe.
And foolish even stated MULTIPLE TIMES yesterday he doesn’t want pac and Mike in jail. He asked if he could visit them if he was the detective, he asked if he found out they didn’t if they would be released, and he even went as far to say even if they DID hurt Mr. mustard he wouldn’t want them in jail for that.
And to sum up my opinion on everything
oh boy I cannot wait to see how this storyline turns out because I’m sure this lie will bite him in the ass LOL

Not a monster
Tumblr media
For Heisenberg it's never been a secret that here in the village he is called the most dangerous of all the four lords.
And for you, the lord's beloved, it's never been a secret either.
His reclusive life in the old factory on the very outskirts of the village, his superhuman physical strength and the power of controlling metal terrify the local villagers, making them create false rumours and foolish horror stories about him.
But you've never been afraid of him although you know that he really is dangerous but in your eyes for a completely different reason.
And the reason is his free and rebellious mind.
You are firmly convinced that the most dangerous person is the one whose mind cannot be controlled, and for you Karl has always been that kind of a man.
It doesn't matter how much time he spent in Miranda's research facility as a lab rat, she didn't manage to brainwash him and turn into her mindless and powerless slave.
The witch proclaimed herself his true mother and still calls him her son, but Karl, the only one of the four lords, knows the whole truth that is skilfully hidden behind the abominable lies.
The man knows that for Miranda he is nothing but another test subject which has become a failed vessel for her long-dead daughter. Just like his siblings and any other living soul in this godforsaken place.
Unlike Alcina, Donna and Moreau, Heisenberg never craved the love of the woman who turned his whole life into an actual hell.
To her within himself he found nothing but furious rage and hatred. Furious to the point that, being a genius at engineering by nature and with the help of his superhuman powers, he has began to create a huge army of mechanized undead soldiers, controllable by him and him alone, so one day he could make the crazy witch pay for everything she's done to him, grinding her with no mercy into paste, finally gaining desired freedom and becoming the only true ruler of his life, holding it within his own hands…
But the days when sadness pays our hearts a visit and a swarm of negative thoughts starts attacking our minds from time to time happen in the life of any human, even in the life of such a tough man like Heisenberg.
Today, feeling especially down, he bitterly told you that you shouldn't have stayed with him, that he was scared damn Miranda would take control over his mind one day and force him badly hurt or even kill you because, after all, he was a monster created by her. A very dangerous monster.
It seemed to you as if your heart cracked and began to bleed after everything he said.
"No! No, that's not true! You are not a monster! You've never been and you will never be a monster!" You slowly came to your beloved and carefully took his face within your hands. "You didn't choose this life. You didn't want anything what happened to you, but the humanity of your soul wasn't taken away, and i see so much human in you. The metal army of yours…those people…they were already dead. You didn't kill anyone of them. Miranda tried to make you feel like monster, but never forget that it's not for me but for her you are the scariest danger because she can't control nor destroy your free mind and human heart. Trust me, my dear, it's not in her power, that's why the damn witch is already failed! Karl, look at me…Please look at me…"
And he raised on you his eyes full of sorrow.
"I am not afraid of you. I love you. I accept you for who you really are and with everything you have. I want you to know that you are never alone because i am always here with you. I love you, Karl. I love you too much no matter what with all my heart. Everything is going to be alright, my love, and believe me when i say this. Together we can overcome absolutely anything!"
Heisenberg firmly closed his eyes, took your hands in his and gently kissed each palm before embracing you with all his might, nuzzling your hair. You immediately wrapped your arms around the lord's wide and strong back, slowly and tenderly rubbing it not even trying to hide the tears that were streaming down your cheeks.
Heisenberg knows perfectly well that in his life you are a bright lantern whose ever-burning light always helps him to walk through the darkness of sad days, and for that to you he is endlessly grateful.
And when the time of overwhelming sorrow is finally going away, the most powerful lord of the village is ready to fiercely fight again for his future happy life in freedom with you and only you.
For a life that no one will ever dare to ruin.

in honour of this post, tags on another of mine i cannot remember that talked briefly about Rayla's issues, and that I've talked about Claudia and Callum's moments of being hypocritical, now I want to actually talk about Rayla's hypocritical tendencies cause it's something S4 and S5 made a fun little consistency - let's dive in
Rayla can sometimes ignore (or react indignantly to) other people possibly having their own reasons/justifications because she's tunnel visioned into only thinking about her own justifications as uniquely warranted
Let me explain
The first time I noticed this was in 2x03, mostly because it was one of those moments that made me laugh even though it's not trying to be funny because
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cause Rayla, honey, you know you lied to them too ("lying and hiding the truth aren't that different") - and Callum forgave you for that and is still your friend. Why would Claudia and Soren be any different to him? (And they are, but not the point of this point).
Now, unlike Soren (who is the person they're primarily discussing), Rayla didn't lie outright, but she did lie by omission - much the same way Claudia did. And Rayla has known her own motivations all along - probably worried they might give up on their mission if they knew (especially at the start), and she doesn't want them to hate her, and most of all by this point in the show, she didn't want to hurt them ("I'm afraid of hurting him" / "when you care about someone, it's hard to hurt them").
This made sense to me in terms of Rayla being good at being initially (often times rightfully, sometimes not so) indignant on her own behalf. She is able to justify herself and does so often, both angrily - as the next examples will show - and more neutrally ("How could I take his life?"). She defends herself both physically and personally to Corvus ("I didn't kill anyone"), she smarts at Callum when he (rightfully) tries to push at her ("I don't have to explain anything to you"), and is mad at Ethari when they initially talk ("Yeah, it's me. Surprised to see my face?"). This initial defense of herself doesn't usually persist and typically gives way to self loathing ("I can fix this" / "I don't deserve your trust, not yet" / "They're right to reject me") but it is there at first and is usually her first reaction, which is very fun.
However, this coupled together with the other two instances arc 2 brings up in terms of her being kind of a hypocrite makes it a pattern, beginning in early season four. (Callum also isn't at his best in early season four, saying he doesn't want to talk about stuff and then bringing it up the next episode to take a jab at her - but he's still dealing with the fallout of the problems she caused, so he absolutely gets more of a pass. As always, see my In Defense of Callum's Narrative Lens from way back in the day if you're interested in more of how his perspectives are portrayed.)
Tumblr media
Because gee, Rayla, I wonder whose fault that is? And again, it does make sense that she's angry - she's spent two years just wanting to be with him with none of the messy complex heartbreak he had to go through because she was the one who made the choice to leave. She expected him to at least shout at her, not ice her out completely. And again, we see that initial indignant streak fade when he reiterates he wants to go, and she looks down disappointed, but accepting of it (and puts whether she'll stay or not in his hands, too).
Since she had a good reason for leaving, and it's what her parents did, while she expected anger, she also wants affection and love. Isn't her justification enough, in some ways? Shouldn't it be? And while Rayla wrestled back and forth with this, it's clear she does think that it should be (even if both seasons show she's starting to realize just why she was wrong).
Tumblr media
But we do see this hypocritical tendency of hers perhaps pop up most prominently in S5 with Nyx
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, in Rayla's head, lying and stealing the key wasn't perhaps the right thing to do, but the better thing to do than burden Callum with what she was going through / to be open and vulnerable. It makes sense why she'd do so - and her shot at Nyx gets a tiny pass cause she's technically sticking up for Ezran - but it still falls back on Rayla leaning too heavily on her logic / independent streak to justify actions that are actually counterproductive to having healthy, wilfully open relationships.
And this is something I love about TDP. Even when the characters are genuinely making the worst possible fucking decisions they ever could (hi arc 1 Viren, Claudia and Karim constantly in particular) you completely understand how and why they're justifying those decisions, and Rayla is no different. Doesn't mean they're right, doesn't mean it's not logically stupid or fair or whatever, but it's emotionally consistent, and that's what matters most in the end. And now we have a fun little consistency to add to the pile

Alright so... let's talk about this scene
Tumblr media
(Fair warning I will be talking a lot under the thread cut and might touch on some sensitive topics. TW for s/icide mentions)
Oh boy where do I even start- this entire rainstorm scene is charged with emotions man. The music, the ambiance, the facial expression of each actor, their body language. Everything right down to the bone is terrific. It almost completely drags you into the mind of the characters, mainly- Winslow and Swan.
I don't need to say much but the entire scene is practically Swan purposefully hurting Winslow further and taking great enjoyment in watching him suffer. PLUS TRAGIC IRONY how the song 'Old Souls' Phoenix sang a moment earlier brought joy to Winslow and a smile on his face as he watched her perform, and now that same song is being used to passive-aggressively make a mockery of him as Swan gets intimate with Phoenix.
I cannot BEGIN to tell you how these facial expressions made me feel:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At first when he initially positions himself on the glass, he looks almost like he's in disbelief of what he's seeing. Like he's shocked to see Phoenix willingly getting intimate with Swan. There's also something I can only describe as a feeling of yearning in his look? It's quite obvious that he wants to be there instead.
He cares for Phoenix- tried to warn her and is completely aware that Swan is just using her. Especially after being sealed into his own room and seeing Beef perform his music instead of her. He knows Swan doesn't give a shit about him or what he wants. He made the mistake of reluctantly trusting this snake once again, only to be tricked again. Now potentially putting in danger an innocent lady he cared for that just wanted to sing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know a picture is not the same as watching the scene in motion- but here in this part you can that, no pun intended, how he looks and his body language seem as if he just got stabbed through the heart, long before actually doing it himself.
And this, ladies and gentlemen, theys and thems, is where I broke down:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's amazing how much a mostly-masked face with only one eye visible can convey so much emotion. You can even see in the first picture Winslow's lightly biting his lip as if trying to hold in his tears.
It's hard to pin-point it in the scene because it's raining, but if you pay attention to the shine in his eye, you can conclude that he does begin to cry. Tries holding it in for a short moment, but it's too much to bottle up.
Intentional or not, the amount of details and the little things all spread around in this scene leave me beyond speechless. It's so like... raw and beautiful.
In this one moment, I feel that all the rage, indignantion and desperation to be recognized for his work leave Winslow for a second- and all that's left is his pain and regret. Because of the realization that Swan, his supposite work partner, lied to him again and he got played again; because Swan never intended to credit his work or respect his wishes, now going a step further and humiliating him (Winslow probably being fully self-aware Swan knows he's watching them since he's facing up to the glass, and he himself never tries to hide or make his presence unknown) by making love to Phoenix, his voice; because of how unaware Phoenix is to who she's dealing with and him possibly having doomed her by allowing Swan to hire her.
And despite how much he may want to undo it and help her see Swan for who he really is, he can't. After all, Swan is the respected owner of the Paradise that has granted her to become a rockstar; he's just the masked 'freak' with a stained reputation that is now only known for murdering Beef and the Juicy Fruits, he's not exactly the one people would want to side with immediately.
He can't do anything but watch.
I feel it's this sense of powerlessness and dehumanization that drive him to give up entirely and committing suicide soon after.

glue me by los campesinos! is my favorite song(by my favorite band) ever and it is so so wilmon. literally everything about this song is perfect and beautiful. the lyrics represent wilmon and young royals so much. so lets go through it, shall we?
just a little note: almost nothing about this is in any order of the show(it is in order of the lyrics), basically just what scenes/things i am reminded of by some of the lyrics because so much of it lines up with this amazing show [:
youtube
/this song begins with such an amazing line, "the clouds salivating, drooling from the sky at the thought of the trouble to wreck" it is raining. water is such a big component as a metaphor in this show to represent everyones feelings. (thank you @tvmicroscope i love your analysis') its also just such a beautiful way to describe the rain as well, the clouds salivating, oh my god (!!! WTFF thats AMAZING I LOVE IT). and then it continues, "and its high tide, as the sewers rise and the drains have become obsolete" it is flooding. both of these just make me think of how it was raining on wilhelm in the soccer/football field scene. when he was soo fucking high and confused and overwhelmed, his brain was being flooded by so many feelings and emotions. probably conflicting each other. wilhelms entire life as he knew it is falling apart, he lost his brother, his best and only friend. he blames himself. he feels guilty. he is burdened with the title of the crown prince, which is the last thing that wilhelm wants. and most importantly(to him at least) he had to reject the love of his life because the crown prince cannot be gay like that. he felt like he was drowning in all of these emotions. he couldnt handle it, "i cant do this anymore", earlier in this same episode when he yet again rejected simon. but still, he goes on and makes the most amazing(and somewhat embarassing) love confession to simon because that is what he really feels. it is the only thing he can take a chance with for him to feel anything nice. and real. (ily tvmicroscope your analysis' are so beautiful)
/and now simon turns up, "seems theres no place in this town, for something as pure as you seem" wilhelm definitely thought this when simon actually came to rescue him in the middle of the night all like "you came, oh my god you came, im so glad youre here, youre so beautiful" wilhelm was definitely shocked simon actually came, especially after all the back and forth wilhelm put him through. it just further proves how amazing(pure) simon is(for this world/town).
/another heartbreaking one "water to my waist in a shark-infested bin" again reminds me of the football field scene when it was raining. wilhelm is so overwhelmed with everything. the water. he just wants to talk to somebody, but he is surrounded by fake friends who want to use him, people who dont give a shit about him as a person. the sharks. he doesnt have anybody to turn to. so he takes the chance of calling simon.
/this time, i hear simon. "and i heard, that it hurts" it literally echoes simon's "love shouldnt be this difficult" from the season 3 trailer. or maybe even in season 1 where wilhelm completely betrays simons trust and then doesnt understand what he did wrong. its just so heartbreaking for both of them ): especially because simon still loves wilhelm but hes also angry at him. at first, wilhelm didnt want simon to be mad at him because of the drugs, and he wasnt. but now he lied, and their relationship has since changed, and simon is mad at him, rightfully so.
/this one is more direct, "two wrists, two wrist watches. tick-tick-tocking second hands slightly out of time" how many times have watches been brought up or specifically highlighted in just seasons 1 and 2? SO MANY TIMES. (haha get it) we even saw some watches in the season 3 trailer! even boris! "ive had this watch for 40 years and it still works" 40 years is honestly crazy though, what the hell. let me see that watch.
/yet another heartbreaking one, "i requested a room with a view, in the middle of a war between me and you" is literally wilhelm looking at the beautiful lake in season 2 crying because he has completely lost hope for simon and he felt soso alone )): thankfully(...)felice came to rescue him, replacing simon from season 1. parallels am i right?(we did NOT need another kiss between felice and wilhelm. one was enough. or apparently it wasnt i guess)
/and, excuse me, OH MY GODD, i can HEAR wilhelm telling simon: "ill be gloomy til they glue me in the arms of [he] who loves me, til the rats and worms are all interned at least five feet above we" he will not give up on simon until he is sure there is no hope left(which we saw in season 2 until the valentines day ball kiss, also in the previous paragraph). another scene that fits is how wilhelm asked simon to hold him ): and finally, just wille being silly (the rats and worms because rats and worms are inherently silly like come on) reminds me of their 'date' by the water in s1e5, but its also so sweet because he is saying he wants to be together with simon until death. which is really the only thing wilhelm definitely wants(as well as for august to rot in hell, or jail, either works but both would be best, but thats besides this point).
/then simon, "[he] smiled, at a joke" just in general how happy he is when theyre together. this reminds me of the lake 'date' again and how totally in love simon looked whenever he was looking at wilhelm. as well as the laugh at the end of s2e5 after wilhelm closed the curtains, im glad theyre healing and can laugh about that.
/once again, excuse me, THE FOOTBALL REFERENCES(its los campesinos' thing to have a lot of football/soccer references in their lyrics but i dont really know much about football/soccer, i just know the references are there) WITH THE WHOLE FOOTBALL METAPHOR AND HOW FOOTBALL=SOMETHING REAL(from what i remember about the tvmicroscope analysis, read it if you havent it was so amazing and it was just so nice to actually see someone take the time to go through the show and each clip and write everything down, i am not very good at spotting metaphors but i love reading about them). but we have roshs great line, "rowing isnt a sport. football is a sport." very insightful for this entire metaphor. i guess you could say when they were at rosh's football/soccer game for these lyrics, but i think thats a bit boring, sorry. i would also like to note that, because of my non-existent knowledge on football/soccer, i chose not to talk about them in detail because i really dont understand the references in the song. from what i do know and so we are on the same page, the references are "im diving into headers, put this pretty face where the boots are flying in" | "but we connected like a yeboah volley" | and "of missed panenka penalty" as well as the chant at the end of the song, but i will actually talk about that in depth because it isnt very specific. there might be more(probably) but im not 100% sure about them.
/finally, we have the entire ending, "ex-boyfriend, boyfriend, give us a song" repeating. another football reference by los camp! which also fits the young royals narrative. the repetition is used as a chant for football, a play on "give us a wave". firstly, the valentines day ball comes to mind. this scene is showing simon who he really(again football is a real sport, thank you tvmicroscope) loves at the valentines day ball, hence him chasing after and kissing wilhelm. he also previously said he couldnt fall in love with marcus, "it just feels like he likes me for real" and "i just dont understand why i cant fall in love with him" ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD. too bad he didnt take the hint back then. also(unrelated) he couldnt even spell marcus' name right. "Hej Markus" seriously simon? too bad he never sent that text. they could have potentially broken up sooner. and then at the end of the valentines ball when marcus wille is listening to his ex-boyfriend his boyfriend sing a song he wrote about HIM(despite him being unaware of this fact until the next episode). it is such a crucial moment in season 2's whole plotline(and wilhelms sanity). next, this reminds me how he literally fell in love with simon when he was singing for him when he was being welcomed to hillerska. the glance around at erik and august like "are you seeing this shit?" or "are we watching the same thing?" look because of simon is so iconic. and the smile is so sweet. his first gay panic experience. moving on, it reminds me of how they sang the same song together later in this same episode "it takes a fool to remain sane". finally, when wilhelm was PISSED because simon couldnt sing his song at the jubilee(and they broke up yet again) and he asked jan olaf about it. he really wanted to see simon perform that for him ): and for simon to be able to perform his song and be happy. at least wilhelm was able to give his wonderful speech. really i am so proud of him, nobody could have expected this from him, especially at this point. not even simon! "it was a.. um.. a moment i didnt want to share, with anyone else, so i lied about it". he has matured so much in such little time, he didnt even want to give this speech either. he shouldnt have to. his anxiety must have been through the roof and he probably threw up afterwards. and of course the infamous consequences. the only reason the queen talks with her son. at least he has simon with him now to hold him when it gets too much(no more fights season 3 please i beg i cant handle it after season 2, the ending did kind of make up for it all though). i got a little off topic but you get the point. also, i brought each of these different scenes up because the ending specifically repeated this lyric several times, like all of these different moments line up. its literally wilmons song, you cant tell me otherwise.
well, that was a lot. i have been thinking about this for WEEKS. months even. and while i typically wouldnt post something like this, i put soso much thought into writing this. like ive actually put so much thought into this its driving me insane. its literally wilmons song, in my opinion. i also just needed a reason to talk about my favorite song and band and relate it to my favorite show. please listen to the song(or anything by los camp! theyre AMAZING). thats really all i need in life, for more people to hear this masterpiece.
🩷💜 thank you💜🩷
i dont know if i will ever do anything like this again, perhaps. im not sure. i did actually enjoy writing this though. i didnt originally plan on writing anything significant but i got carried away. i was supposed to be drawing more wilmon, i want to finish it before season 3 is officially out but it is just so detailed📚. someone yell at me to finish the drawing PLEASE ! time is ticking but its so fucking DETAILED and TEDIOUS. oh my god theres only a week left WHAT THE FUCKK. anyways i loved this [: very fun!
[if there are any typos or just flat out mistakes, either no there isnt or just let me know, i probably wont fix it but i appreciate it. i also want to say i am aware i am HORRIBLE at staying on topic i just had so many things ive wanted to say]
💜

Kinnporsche Rewatch 10 Thoughts
This opening is so good. "If it's for the man i love, i'd never hurt his feelings." Vegas isn't even lying but i don't think he knows that himself. It's fascinating to watch him pull the softboy act on Porsche, who clearly doesn't really trust it, but he knows that Porsche wouldn't be able to stand just staying in the cell, unable to do anything. Porsche needs to be doing something, especially if a loved one is in danger.
Chay getting kidnapped is finally linking his story to the main one which was just direly needed. I do not go to the dark mafia store to buy cute teenage romcom, thank you very much.
Pete demanding to know if Kinn trusts Porsche, because Pete does! Pete is willing to go clear Porsche's name, even if he gets captured, tortured and killed for it, because he trusts Porsche! get you a bestie like Pete!
Vegas likes Porsche! He thinks that Kinn has finally gotten some decent taste! That does not mean that he isn't going to use Porsche and fuck everything up, but the does genuinely like Porsche as a person which i think might make how the two of them end up worse.
LMAO can you imagine being Kinn and dealing with all the Tawan and Porsche escaping bullshit and then you get a phonecall from your estranged younger brother who is clearly injured asking you what the fuck happened like he knows something happened??? and then you have to explain to your estranged baby brother, who is a feral cat of a boy, about your ex coming back from the dead and your new boyfriend escaping his jailcell with your most awful cousin? Just what was that conversation like for him. I have to know.
This entire episode, actually this whole storyline, is Pete No. You In Danger, Girl. But we get our first glimpse of Khun Spikes!
Arm, how on earth did you test that USB on a computer connected to the main network!!!! you are supposed to be the smart one!!! local mafia family's cybersecurity a goddamn nightmare.
Big's death is even sadder on rewatch. that man was just trying his best! he just wants love and to protect kinn! he grew to respect porsche! and to get shot protecting porsche from that evil snake tawan that he never trusted!!!! tragic. i refuse. big is alive just in the hospital.
"i don't like myself being like this." Porsche corruption arc still in full swing, baby! he realizes it's happening but can't stop it.
Kinn got that look on his face like "I swear i'm forgetting something....the stove? did I leave the stove on? No, i've never cooked a day in my life. it can't be that." smashcut to poor Pete caught in the torture dungeon! Kinn is the worst boss.
Pete is derranged and I love him. Vegas has no idea what's about to happen to him. "You're laughing. I'm about to electrocute you with a car battery and you're laughing" The intense eye contact. these insane weirdos were made for each other. we must keep the insanity contained, they cannot be with anyone else. And the complete contrast of that with Ken and Gun, Ken begging and apologizing and clutching at Gun's boots.
Tankhun is not afraid of Gun. He sees clearly what is happening! But he does not like being in a room full of people with their guns drawn. This is the most panicked we've seen him yet, and yet he's still holding it together! He's clearly upset but he isn't melting down. Genuinely I think Tankhun is not as broken as Korn presents him as! He probably was, right after the kidnapping, but he's grown up. Kinn and Tankhun are united, but Korn overrules their desire. Getting dangerously close to the sons Unionizing against you, Korn!
Boyfriend runs away with another man after you lock him up for less than a day because you didn't tell him your master plan? Deutsche Bank can help. Boyfriend wants you to apologize for falling for his cousin's lies? Deutsche Bank can help. Deutsche Bank: for all your reconciling with your boyfriend needs.
"it's like i've forgotten something, but I can't think of what" Pete is being tortured, Kinn! For the love of god you lost a whole person!!! how do you not realize the man you sent in to clear your boyfriend's name hasn't reappeared yet!!! TRY HARDER, KINN! if i was Pete i'd be so mad.
