Managing my charity stall during Genshins Weinlesefest!
Tumblr media
I’m having a fun time managing my own charity stall during the Weinlesefest festival within the event “Of Ballads and Brews”! It’s a peaceful and enjoyable little side game and section of the four quest sections which I’m having a good time with, bringing goodies to customers and sometimes free things. Business is running incredibly well for the moment and I’ve hit all of the tasks needed to be done.
For anyone who doesn’t know what Weinlesefest in the Genshin game is, it is a festival in Mondstadt revolving currently happening to do with making new wine and inviting the Anemo Archon (Venti/Barbatos) to drink if the Anemo Archon is happy with the wine.
Weinlesefests are a real life annual tradition in Germany's wine regions, such as the German Weinlesefest in Neustadt an der Weinstraße.
It has been joyous to learn new juice recipes and purchase them from the drinks stall too, and selling of produce I’ve foraged in exchange for currency. 😄

A Barbz Brainrot~🤍
Still thinking about Venti and a composer/performer windblume ngl~🎶
Maybe you meet him at the Irodori festival, later at night at Ritou, a light and pleasant breeze enveloping you as you sit on the dock, facing the sea. Most people have turned in for the night except for you and a most peculiar green clad bard who had caught you humming to yourself, notebook and pen in hand, trying to create a melody to accompany the harmony you had composed.
Tumblr media
"I don't think I've seen someone write music without a lyre in ages! Ehe..." He chuckles, you trying to compose yourself and be rid of the bright pink dust on your cheeks. It's surprising how you managed to not fall into the water.
"Uhm, yes! Yeah, I'm not...I'm not that good with a-a lyre...to be honest?" You say awkwardly to the stranger with pretty braids and a flower you don't think you've seen before in his hair.
"Aha...I'm just messing with you. But if you've ever stepped foot in Mondstadt..."
He gives you a cheeky smile and takes out a lyre, prettier than you had thought one could be.
"You'd know exactly what I mean."
"So I take it you're from Mondstadt?" You ask, already able to match his energy for some reason.
He daintily strums the lyre, his face turning into a posh smirk. "Guilty as charged."
As you laugh softly into your hand, you take more notice of his features. You could have sworn you could have seen him before...
"So!" He announces as he plops down right beside you. "What's a little poet like you doing all alone out here? It may not seem like it, but the night is still so young!"
"Oh...no no no, I'm not a poet, see, this is just a bunch of nonsense and vomit in the form of what I like to call "lyrics." You anxiously giggle, already alert of his emerald eyes dangerously eyeing up the journal stuffed with sheet music in your lap with a growing chaotic excitement.
"I-im also a bit shy when it comes to performing and the like, so..."
"Why? You've got one of the most beautiful voices I've heard since I've been here! And trust me-there is way too much talent here."
Your heart skips a beat.
"But I wasn't even-"
"Don't be silly, humming counts." He says sing-songingly.
"Well, I- uhm, thank you, Mr. Bard." You finally give in, a small blush dusting your cheeks.
"Ah, that's more like it." He sighs with a relaxed smile on his face.
...
He looks at you expectantly, knowing what you're going to ask him.
"I'm sure your voice is lovely too! Uhm... Mr...Bard...uhm... Wouldnt you prefer if I called you anything else?"
"Other than the 3x winner of 'Best Bard of Mondstadt?" He can't help but laugh at how your mouth forms an o shape.
He leans over and props his elbow on his knee, raising his eyebrows dramatically. "You, Cecelia, may call me "Venti."
He leans a little closer, shoulder to shoulder with you, and gives dramatic jazz hands. "Venti the Bard..."
You try to do the jazz hands along with him, but you just can't help but look at him in awe. Was he bluffing? Sure he was kind of flamboyant, but...
"Allow me to soothe your troubled mind~a Cecelia is a flower from Mondstadt...personally my favorite, but..."
You're still staring at him, kinda confused.
"ah, I see." He smiles. "A flower is a plant that grows out of the ground! It's got pretty peeetaals, and steeemmms, and-"
You lightly bop him on his head so his hat falls slightly over his face. "Not that!"
He fixes up his hair as he smiles goofily at you. "I'm just messing with ya!"
"it's just that your...are you actually..."
"What? Don't trust me?"
"No, no! I-"
"I'll have you know that I have a multitude of compositions to my name, thank you very much!" He playfully yells, whipping out some sort of book and flipping the pages so they all brush against your nose. You crinkle your nose and close your eyes, trying to stifle your giggles. Who even is this person?
"Here. Hold my lyre for a moment." He says, plopping his pretty lyre in your lap softly before thoroughly digging through his music.
"Mein Frühlung is a dear thing, but she's seen some things. Feel free to play a little bit! Go on! We've a performance in a while, she needs a good warm up."
"Why so late?" You ask, letting your fingers delicately grace the strings of the lyre.
"I told you. The night is still is still so young. Taverns are thriving, and the locals have not even had an ounce of their fair share of Mondstadt music."
"I suppose that makes sense. Also isn't tonight one of the nights where performers get free drinks or can at least guarantee someone's gonna buy a drink for them?"
"Oh! That's even better...hehehe..." The Bard recalls deviously as he seems to have located the music he was looking for.
"Alright, cecelia~ I'm gonna prove to you that I can make pretty music too, just like you~"
"I don't doubt you, "Mr Venti the Bard." You giggle as you look at the music now laying in your lap. He takes the lyre from you, and then already looks prepared to play.
"Ready?!”
You look back up at him as he adjusts himself to the key. “Wait, what?!!!”
He huffs. “Well, how will you know if you like my music if you haven’t sung it?”
“But-“
“And it’s a dueeettttt~”
“Wait, really?”
“Sure is, silly! Now… top or bottom? Both voice parts are closer in range to each other, but the top is definitely the main melody for most of the song. Personally I think you could go either way, but I kind of want your voice to stand out…”
You giggle, still in disbelief that he’s actually getting you to sing. “Okay, fine~ I’ll take the melody. It looks quite pretty.”
He smiles warmly and doesn’t waste time in playing a delicate intro to his piece.
The first verse belongs to him-his voice catches you off guard with how smooth and soft it is. There was something so unique about it too. You had heard so many male performers with beautiful voices, but there was just something so different about Venti’s. It was almost as if it were the wind itself-so innocent and free, yet it knew all the secrets of the world. Before you can get too lost in the beauty, his eyes lock with yours, cueing you in.
Now it’s his turn to hear your gift. You’re sight-reading~ he knows this. It doesn’t phase him one bit when your voice is a bit shakey. He doesn’t understand how you could be so nervous with a beautiful and consistent voice like yours. It’s so distinct, but just fits perfectly. Something about it resonates with him…but he’s going to contain his excitement so he doesn’t ruin your flow.
When your voices meet in the chorus, it’s a dance. Two beautiful voices intermingling and breathing life your waltz, only supported by a harmony of arpeggiated chords on the lyre. When you repeat the chorus one last time, the bard decides to play the chords together-one reason being variety, the other just being…it feels right.
The last chord settles, and all you can do is look into the bards eyes. You had no idea someone could sing like that…even with such a simple song, he put so much life into it.This clearly wasn’t a gig just for money, or a silly title like “Best Bard of Mondstadt” to him.
“Well, what do you say?” He says, cocking his head. “Is it worth my title?”
“That was so pretty…how did you make that all by yourself?”
He chuckles. “Well, I can’t take all the credit…your voice truly is something, my dear.”
You put your hands on your cheeks. “Oh please… even then, I didn’t write it!
“What’s that supposed to mean?” He asks, gently strumming his lyre.
“I mean-“
“Ah. You’ve never played a lyre. I’d love to teach you!”
“That’s not what I meant…but wait, you’d do that?”
He puts a friendly arm around your shoulder, and you allow him to pull you slightly closer.
“Of course I would! You’re already clearly a talented musician, so it wouldn’t be too much trouble-just a lot of dedication on your part.”
He takes your hand with his free hand and inspects it. “And you’ve got some good hands, by the way. They would be perfect for lyre playing.”
You blush deeply, eyes widening at the out of pocket compliment. “Uhm, thank you!”
“So, how would I repay you? I’m far from rich, but I’ll do anything to return your kindness!”
He smiles cheekily, his cheeks turning slightly red. “Ehe~”
“Mr. Venti the Bard?”
“So…first of all, may I have your name? We’ve a deal to strike.”
“Oh dear…”
“Come on, come on! You just said…” he says.
“It’s (y/n).” You respond with a huge nervous smile. With this bard, he could be asking anything.
He takes your hands in his. “Well, fair (y/n)… in exchange for me taking you under my wing, would you be willing to do me a few favors from…time to time?”
You still are smiling, eyes now closed. “What type of favors?”
“Ehe~”
Archons help me.
“So… remember that performance I was talking about?” He asks, twirling his braid in his fingers.
“Yes…you were referring to you and you’re lyre, right?”
He just smiles. It’s a very pretty smile.
“Right?”
He raises his eyebrows.
“Oh archons, I should have known!” You say, laughing nervously into your hands.
“Please (y/n)? I promise, I know what a beautiful voice is. I’ve been there and done that, I have a lot of experience! More than you would think!” He begs. He gently takes your hands back into his own.
“I’m gonna mess it up…”
“No you’re not! And even if you do, nobody has a clue. Only me. And I think the performance has much more to do with quality rather than memorization and using the score as a script…okay?”
“Pretty please?”
“Promise you won’t get mad?” You ask shyly.
He holds out his pinkie to you. “I promise.”
The deal was made, and he instantly pulls you up with him and links his arm with yours.
“I’m so happy you’ve decided to join me!” He says, beaming. “Now let’s go!”
"Its now?
“Archons help you…”

am i the only one who thinks scaramouche being an anemo user actually makes sense, given that most of what we've seen so far has been him rebelling against, well, everything?

Wind and sky, in the land of contracts (Part 1)
You and Venti plan to head to the Lantern festival in Liyue, but little do you know that Venti will NOT appreciate your tour guide
Warnings: A little angsty, a little inappropriate at the end
Characters: Clingy Venti, Y/n (from Liyue), Zhongli
(Read part 2 here!)

'Eh! Why are you all dressed up like that..' With your hands on your back you sighed, looking to the side. 'Did you forget..?' You replied with a disappointed gaze, the man pouted. '… Well, it seems like you're going on another date with another man..?' He responded, your eyes widened.
'Wh-!? Is that what you're thinking about?!' You said surprised, the guy blinked a few times while he tilted his head. '… Am I right? No.. Right? I hope! Well you wouldn't want another man anyways~' You glared at him, not speaking a word.
'Well.. In fact.. I'm going on a date with a friend of yours in Liyue… Who's way more fun than you..' You casually waved your hand around, kinda shooeing him away in some way as you started wandering away slowly. His eyes opened up instantly, his jaw turning a bit sharper than before. '… And who may this lad be? I just.. Wanna play a ballad or two for him.. You can take me with you?' He brought out, sounding more like an order than a request. You threw a grin to him over your shoulder, her your finger resting on your lower lip. 'You sure? I'm heading to the Lantern festival..? Wouldn't that be boring for the Anemo Archon?' You said it with such a mocking tone, he couldn't help but pout and cross his arms. '… As if you, someone who left their home country, would find it any fun.. If you enjoyed the Lantern festival, you would've stayed in Liyue.' He spat out, you giggled while you turned around.. Walking towards him again.
'Geez.. You're quite easy to make jealous..? Do you even notice that? Anyways, I left Liyue because of various reasons. I'm sure I told them all to you, eh? Venti.' You poked his chest, your eyes never breaking eye contact with his.. It was rather intense.. But you could stare into them forever. They told you tales of the skies, of the Archon War, of the future.. 'You did indeed! Also, I'm not easily jealous, but you gotta hear yourself.. What if I told you that I would go out with Lumine while you're in Liyue.. She did ask me tho..~' He notified, you instantly cringed lightly. '.. I know her intentions aren't wrong.. She knows about us.. So I wouldn't worry.' You lied, well..  A part of it was true, just the 'not worrying' part was a little lie..
'Are you sure? It might get interesting in the Angel's share.. We'll have Dandelion wine.. I'll drink till morni-!'
'Okay! Geez.. Come along to Liyue already..' You cut him off and grabbed his hands with a pleading look on your face, Venti grinned and softly pressed a kiss against your lips. 'My my! Who's jealous now..?' Embarrassed you let go of his hands and backed off, turning your back to him and crossed your arms. '.. Pack your bags already, or I'll leave without you..'
'Quite a fine idea to hire a carriage.. I wouldn't even be thinking about just walking to Liyue..' Venti brought out, a cider in hand. '... I'm an experienced traveler Venti.. Also.. Quit drinking!' You snarled, grasping his drink out of his hands. 'H-Hey! Give that back..' He begged, trying to reach for the bottle in your hands. you held him back by his forehead, squinting heavily. 'No way.. Get off, you're not drinking till we're in Liyue. Before I know it you'll throw this whole cart around with your stupid anemo powers.. Tch.' You yell-whispered, Venti pouted and quit trying.. Knowing he wouldn't get his alcohol that easily if you were that attendant. 'You're torturing me (y/nnn)! You can't just do this to me..!' He pleaded, you shut your eyes and shook your head. 'No. Remember the last time we went traveling and you drank a whole bottle of that liquor..  Huh? I had to pay that poor man my damn month salary because you totally destroyed that cart without a motive.. So no.' You snapped back, flicking his forehead with your finger.
'Ouchie.. You don't have to be so mean..?' He brought out on a child like tone, you closed the bottle and stuffed it in your bag, Venti's eyes never actually leaving it. 'I'm not mean, I'm just preventing accidents..' You muttered, caring to shoot a glance at him. He sighed deeply as his braids peacefully waved along on the wind, his eyes closed. With a stern look on your face you observed him, feeling your heart beating quicker every second. 'Say, (y/n).. I'm curious. Do I remind you of someone?' The question caught you off guard.
'... Eh? Why that..?' You replied confused, the guy sighed deeply and lowered his head, his body being less tensed for a second. '.. It's just, I can take on any form you know.. And I remember one time someone really saw and respected me when they saw their beloved one. They realized there was actually someone else..? You know. I told you that story about that adventurer right? Who had a pupil who praised him greatly..' You nodded silently in reply. 'I remember transforming into his friend, and he finally saw me for who I was.. So, I wanted to ask you if.. I reminded you of someone, that you have such an attraction to me.'
...
You sadly looked down to the floor, keeping your silence a while longer. With nothing but the sound of wheels crushing the earth below, it was all dead silent. 'I'm not a fan of cheesy stuff eh..?' You mumbled, your eyes locked on the bottom of the carriage. '... But I don't like you for your looks.. Sure, you're adorable.. But, I love your personality.. And to answer your question precisely.. You don't remind me of anyone.. I just love the way you are..' You replied a bit straight forward, Venti nodded silently. '... Back in Liyue, there was nearly no one who I really cared about. When the seas were still, the legends wild and the Adepti as close as they could be with their folk.. I was simply a child, roaming around the place and searching for my ambitions. I wasn't busy with people, but I felt incredibly lonely. There was no one who felt special to me.. I was a simple kid, with a small edge of anxiety and fear.. And no one was able to break through that, I wasn't a people person.. I would rather be alone, but feel lonely and sad at the same time..' There was a certain emptiness to your words, feeling a certain depressing wave falling over you when you thought back about that time of your life. '... What I'm meaning to say, you all in Mondstadt, and especially you, are the first real friends I had and cared about..' A genuine smile formed on your face, Venti stared at you with widened eyes. '... I'm.. Somewhere very glad to hear this. I'm, even feeling honored and lucky.. And.. I want to thank you.' He said, surprised and startled at the same time.
'For.. Making me such an important role in your life that is.'  Your breath quit out of nowhere, being absolutely stunned. '.. I.. I'm.. ' Without anymore attempts of saying something you just wrapped your arms around the boy's torso, hugging him tight and not letting go for a few seconds.. 'Hehe! Quite speechless now huh..?' He smiled soft, not taking his eyes off you.. His hand caressing the top of your head carefully.
'When are you gonna wake up.. It's already noon.. We gotta have some diner!' Confused and disoriented you opened your eyes, your body automatically standing up while you were still half sleeping. 'W- What.. Diner? Already noon..?' You repeated, rubbing your eyes and tried dragging your consciousness back in. '(Y/nnn).. It's so late, we're already in Liyue. In fact, we're in a hotel. I carried you and everything inside..' Venti said and gave you a soft peck on your nose, your eyebrows furrowed while you clenched your fists. '.. You did? Thank you Venti, I was so tired.. Let's go have some diner..' You said while opening your eyes and yawning afterwards. '... Are you that tired that you forget food? It should be really bad than..? You know what, you just go lay back there.. I'll go search for something! Besides, I can cook.. Eheh!' He giggled, pressing another kiss on your forehead and ruffled playfully your hair afterwards. '... If you... Won't mess up.. Yes please..' You said, sitting back on the bed and laid down. 'Well, I'll be back in a bit.. Be sweet while I'm gone~~'
Before he knew it, you dozed off again.
….
There was a knock on the door, you raised your eyebrows.  After having an amazing sleep, being back in your hometown after so long, you rose and shine again this morning while Venti was still snoring steady, trying to sleep out his hangover.. Since that drunkard bard managed to buy his booze in Liyue and decided to drink it all.. 'Who could that be..?' You asked herself, walking towards the front door and unlocked it. 'Hello..?' You said while you opened the door, in front of you the well known man who was supposed to act like your tour guide.
'(L/N)-chan.. Hello, it's a pleasure meeting you again.' You blinked a few times, clasping your hands together a few seconds later and smiled. 'Zhongli! Hey! Fun to see you too.. Come inside please...' You stepped aside, letting the man enter the room. 'I'll make some tea.. It's really cool to see you here.. I brought Venti with me too. Eh.. Barbatos!' You notified, pouring in pre-made tea in a cup for the visitor, a cup of your own standing right on the table there in the living room. 'Ah, Barbatos? Did he come along eventually? So we'll explore the Lantern festival with him by our side? He can be a pesky little guy though..' Zhongli answered, thankfully accepting his tea. 'Pesky? Eh! Rex Lapis.. Did I already told you that Vent- I mean.. The Anemo Archon.. Sorry.  Is my boyfriend..' You answered, your cheeks shot a pink color.
'... He is?' Zhongli answered surprised, you scratched your cheek awkwardly.. It literally sounded like it was even more surprising than Lumine was when he gave Signora his Gnosis.
'.. Yeah..  For quite some time now actually.. Although, I can see why you find him annoying and a bit troublesome..'
'I sincerely apologize than, ... You must have already gotten used to him by now?' He said, you nodded with a laugh. 'Yes, I surely have.. Took me quite a while..'
'(Y/nnn)- What are you doing.. Why are you talking-' Out of the hallway the guy appeared, no clothing except some sheets covering him. There was an extreme awkward silence, thank Rex Lapis the most essential things were covered up. '...' Slowly but steadily the scene started playing out before the eyes of the God of Liyue.
You  managed to throw a pillow towards him faster than the speed of sound, your body stance was like a little gremlin. 'VENTI?! GO PUT SOMETHING IN YOU IDIOT- WE'VE GOT VISITORS OVER.. THERES NO TIME FOR THIS-' Embarrassed you turned yourself around, placing both of your hands on your back and bowed down so fast that it seemed like there were a few afterimages of you brought to existence. 'My excuses..' You eventually apologized to Zhongli who scratched the back of his head. 'The lad has always been a little weird..' Was the only comment he gave in reply, you silently sipped your tea and sighed deeply.
In no time the guy stood back in their midst, gazing at Morax for a few seconds. 'Couldn't you tell me that with 'my friend that you're going in a date with'.. Was Morax all along?' Venti brought out and pouted, being extremely clingy to you outta nowhere. 'So that's how you got him to come along.' Zhongli commented, you grinned. 'Easily, yes..' With that you tried pushing off Venti. 'As for you.. I do not know what's up with you, but you're being a ton more clingy than normal.. It isn't like you-?' You turned your head around to him, Venti's cheek squished by your arm because he was hugging you so tight. '...'
'So, since you know how to baby sit.. Mind dragging this baby along today?' You then asked, looking back at Zhongli.  'I'm used to Xiao in the earlier days, so I shouldn't have a problem.' Zhongli answered, Venti immediately let go and shot Rex Lapis a glare. 'Did you know that Geo can't crystallize Anemo.' He squinted, Zhongli closed his eyes as he drank the last bits of tea.
'Quit declaring war with Zhongli Venti..?' You begged, pinching his cute and chubby cheek firmly. '...'
When it all just didn't work, you stood up and dragged Venti by his ear to your bedroom. You opened the slidedoor, closing it behind you after the two of you had entered and Venti kept on repeating 'ouchie.'
'Whats wrong with you--?' You asked surprised, letting go of his ear. Venti crossed his arms and shrugged his shoulders. 'We don't need a guide.' He snarled blunt, you rolled your eyes. '... Is it really about Zhongli?? Venti, you're being such an idiot..' You face palmed yourself and stared straight ahead of yourself for the next few seconds. '.. When is he going to leave..  I wanna explore the event with you alone (y/n)-Chan..' He notified, you rubbed the bridge of your nose and sighed. '.. Well today he is tagging along, if you're really that eager to just go with me.. We could go tomorrow..' You answered and softly booped his nose, walking past him with a certain sway to your hips which made Venti even more attendant..
'We're done..' You notified, Venti stared at your beautiful figure.. The (dress/suit) you were wearing was wayyyy different from your usual clothing when you were working, it was something completely new. To his surprise you beckoned him to come, your hand movements gracious and seductive. 'Talk about being inappropriate..  Mhmm mhmm.. I like where this is going actually..' He brought out with a  smirk on his face, forgetting all his worries for a second.

reminiscence.
fem! reader, scara and nahida would act like siblings change my mind, includes sumeru archon quest spoilers!
Tumblr media
“would you mind telling me more about [name]?”
scaramouche had to make sure he was hearing things correctly.
“excuse me?”
“[name]. i want to know more about her.”
the tiny god of wisdom gently rocks back and forth on her makeshift swing created by her control over dendro—watching over the city of sumeru with soft eyes whilst the former harbinger stares daggers onto the back of her head.
a sigh escapes the man's lips from behind her, a telltale sign of his incoming exasperation, “you read my mind without my permission again? i remember clearly telling you to cut it out, didn't i?” his annoyance doesn't come unnoticed by the observant child.
“it was quite improper of me to do so, but i'm the god of wisdom. i actively seek out knowledge, and such—i couldn't resist the temptation of peering onto a mind as eccentric as yours.” her tone remains understanding of his irritation, yet all the more wise in explaining her unwarranted prying.
the dark-haired male behind her hums, leaning back onto the tree as he shuts his eyes closed, seemingly given up on voicing his displeasure towards the archon.
“tell me what you know so i'll know where to start.”
his immediate compliance makes the curious child turn her head his way, staring at him with wide eyes.
“you...” nahida trails off as she smiles in relief, quickly reminding herself to not comment on his chosen act of opening up as he might get impatient and dismiss the subject altogether.
the distant chatter of her people down at the city successfully averts her attention from him, her eyes now gazing down at a certain blonde traveller stopping by to buy some supplies for their next adventure.
“you were dreaming of her during your slumber. she's...the fourth betrayal you encountered, correct?” nahida knows that you were anything but a betrayal, but she has to bend her words to his whims for now as to avoid a temper tantrum.
scaramouche hums in response.
“out of all the companions you've trusted, you seemed to cling onto your memories of her the most. why is that?”
“if you've read my mind, then i'm sure you already know why.”
“you're not gonna deny it?” the lesser lord cranes her neck to look at him over her shoulder, brows raised questioningly at his statement. “that you were in love, romantically?” she had carefully formed the question to give him the freedom of denying it just in case he wasn't ready to face his past just yet, but this situation was clearly something she didn't expect.
the male remains resting against the tree behind him, uncaring of the child's rather surprised gaze as his eyes stay shut. “if there's one thing you taught me while being under your care, it has to be acceptance.” he feels his anemo vision thrum to life by his chest, but he pays no mind to it as he continues, “i have nothing to lose now, so I might as well stop lying to myself to give my existence some type of meaning.”
nahida can't help the softening of her eyes towards the male, her smile widening by a fraction before she returns her gaze towards the city below her. if anything, that's probably his way of thanking her. it's a pretty roundabout way considering the better alternatives, but it managed to get the message across, didn't it?
she sighs in content, “that's essentially all I know about her. once again, would you mind telling me how she was like?”
you would probably pass out if you found out that the god of wisdom wishes to know more about you.
the ends of his lips twitch upwards for a moment as he thinks back on the memories he held dearly of you;
ranging from the embarrassing and funny moments you two shared like that one time you accidentally mistook him as a girl due to how graceful and fair his skin and face was, or up to the more intimate moments—like watching the narukami festival unfold along with its blooming fireworks from the mountain peaks of tatarasuna...
...and that one time he finally let your desires free and bared himself for you to touch—his first time.
he feels his cheeks burn at the thought, crossing his arms with a huff as if to breathe out the sinful thoughts.
now that he was free from the shackles of burdens and hatred, everything he experienced with you no longer seemed to be as bitter and disgusting to recall—unlike the times before where he'd have occasional dreams of you back in the fatui, the pettiness in his nerves as he calls it a nightmare that reminds him of how naïve and weak he was back then.
he returns to the matter at hand with a new sense of clarity—now what was he supposed to say again?
right. he was supposed to tell nahida about you.
he can't believe he's still blushing over you after all these centuries.
lifting his eyelids, the first thing he catches in his eyesight was nahida's knowing smile—directed right at him as she stays still on her swing.
why is she—?
oh.
making haste with his movements, he quickly lifts his hand to pull down his hat over his face, only to discover he wasn't wearing his hat at the moment—so pathetically enough, he opts to cover his face with a hand, shyly hiding his face from the grinning archon as he looks away with reddened cheeks and ears.
he got too carried away while reminiscing, it seems.
“i see...so you're still very much in love with her, hm?” nahida speaks up with a teasing tilt to her voice, relishing in this rare moment of the male's lowered guard, “not like i blame you. she was really pretty in your dreams, and probably even prettier in person.”
“shut up. do you want me to continue or not?”
with a quick apology amidst her fit of giggles, she nods, looking away once again from the eccentric wanderer to give him the privacy he deserves.
“sorry, sorry. now you may start.”
her curiousity is piqued. just how much of an impact did you make to cause the male to make such interesting reactions?
she's about to find out now, it seems.

please and thank you. Take care and have a nice day, night, or afternoon. See you next ask♡

characters: sub!scaramouche x gn!dom!reader
warnings: overstimulation, degrading, dacryphillia, breeding, orgasm denial
notes: i had to rely on my maladaptive daydreaming for this one. takes place after scaramouche’s defeat era but reader and scara came across dottore during a sumeru festival.
i’m so sorry i took soo long😭😭 see you at the next ask and please come again by the cafe!
Tumblr media
ever since the defeat of scaramouche from his false godhood and the therapy sessions with nahida and the aranaras, he’s mentality has been getting better and better. not all of his trauma is healed yet but hey he’s working on it!
and it seems like the people of sumeru has held another grand festival in the name of the lesser lord kusanali. of course a festival is nothing if it doesn’t invite everyone who wants to join of course. however not everyone is an exactly a welcome guests. that includes dottore, the 2nd of the fatui harbingers.
don’t get me wrong, just because a guest isn’t a welcome one doesn’t mean they would be shoo-d out. but your sweet boyfriend didn’t like it. not at all. seeing dottore casually talking to you with a carefree, lopsided smile while he has to stand back and try not to march over where you two are and make out with you was hard. so hard to the point he accidentally put out the lanterns around him with his newfound anemo power.
and there dottore was. chatting with you as if you two were old friends, reunited after years of not seeing each other. throwing a snide remark about how your loving darling was a failure, how he can be a better boyfriend for you and how he was even better than him in all ways while you tried your hardest not to break his jaw.
the last straw for your darling was the doctor leaning against you like you two were lovers and whispering in your ears. that’s it. he’s had enough.
pulling a random citizen close by their waist, scaramouche started to flirt with them. compliment after compliment, flirty remark after one another, it even seemed like the fool was falling for his trick.
looking sideways for your lover’s help only to see him throwing flirtatious remarks with some fool, something in you snapped. first was dottore and now this? that’s it, you’ve had it. pushing the blue haired man away from yourself and striding over to where your lover is with a fuzzy mind, everyone around you backed away.
“so, what do you say if we meet up more oft-hey! let go of me you-?!” when scara was suddenly pulled away and collided with a broad chest, he knew he fucked up big time. looking up at you with a wide eyes and a shuddered breath, the dark look in your eyes made him shiver. was it anticipation? fear? excitement? he didn’t know. but frankly he didn’t care since he finally have your attention on him now! and only him alone.
“forgive us but a sudden work has popped up for me and my lover” sending a sweet smile towards the stranger, you quickly walked back home with your lover struggling to catch up with you.
as soon as the door to your small shared home is closed, scaramouche found himself trapped against the wall in a hungry kiss. he didn’t mind it, this was his plan after all. moaning into the kiss and grinding his ass on your legs, your short lover was starting to grow restless. why weren’t you touching him already?!
it seemed like his wish will be granted for soon he soon found himself thrown into the bed harshly. anticipating your next moves with lust drumming in his veins, scaramouche looked up at you with a cloudy purple eyes.
“aanngh-gyah! c-cumming! cummingcummingcum-!” scaramouche helplessly whined and sobbed as you kept fucking him stupid. but just as he was about to reach his peak you pulled out again, leaving his hole feeling empty and hips twitching.
“NO! nonononono! p-put it back! [name]~ put it ba-ackk! please!” more tears fell down his face for the pleasure you denied him of. sticking out his stretched, gaping hole and wiggling his ass for you, he hoped it would be enough to lure you back in. you’ve been denying his orgasm for hours and it fucking hurt.
“sniff… please? p-please? hic i-i won’t do it again…” seems like your precious boy has completely gave up. sniffling and praying to any archons, scaramouche wailed and trashed around when your thick length entered his hole again. a mess of desperate “please” and “i’ll be good”-s tumbled out of his mouth. well, you were mean to him for long enough, you supposed.
“cum for me love” letting out a loud wail and blabbering “thank you”-s, scaramouche came all over the sheets, hands scrambling to hold anything. some even squirted on his tummy. laying flat on his stomach as his legs had finally gave out, your sweet boy tried to catch his breath. but you aren’t done with him yet.
“haah haah [n-naME]?! S-SHTOP! WHA-WHAT AANGGGH♡︎♡︎!!”
“shh, it’s okay baby boy. you did some stupid shit today so you have to learn how to pay for it. or else you’ll never learn” kissing his shoulder, you ignored his incoherent sobs for you to stop and continued to thrust into his sloppy hole.
“i’ll just make you dumber and dumber scara. until the only thing you can scream is my name”. that night was filled with scaramouche wailing and sobbing your name, begging for forgiveness.

soft yandere!wanderer headcannons
warnings: none
Tumblr media
the wanderer had many names: kabukimono, kunikuzushi, scaramouche, the balladeer.
after he lost a battle with the well-known traveler, he became the wanderer, a puppet with no strings. a puppet with a different style and his very own anemo vision.
he changed for the better and it was all thanks to nahida, the traveler, and you.
you helped him retrieve his memories along with nahida and the traveler.
you helped out only a bit, but still, he was grateful.
he would feel indescribable emotions whenever you were around. at first, he thought there was something wrong with him, but discovered what he was feeling was in fact love.
“love” was a foreign word to him. ever since his birth, he never once experienced love. his creator, the almighty shogun or the god of eternity, saw no worth in him and discarded him like trash.
sure, he had met a few friends, but neither of them filled the void of loneliness in his heart because they either died or abandoned him.
he wanted to forget his past and focus on the present, so he tried his best not to act in a way he would back when he was a harbinger.
he wanted to shower you in gifts as thanks, but that would be a problem since he wasn’t acquainted with the fatui anymore, meaning he had no mora and would have to make mora independently somewhere.
“sc– i mean, wanderer, what are you doing?” you asked, furrowing your brows, as you saw the ex-harbinger behind a fruit stand.
“oh… i’m just trying out a new job... figured i’d have to do something to make a living since i’m not in the fatui anymore.” he felt his face heat up at the sight of you. just one look at you was enough to make him flustered. “so, this is what sumerians do to make mora? sell pieces of fruit?”
”yeah, i guess. you can try selling jewelry too or make mora off of dancing.” you imagined him, an ex-harbinger, dancing for mora. the thought made you chuckle.
“dancing? for mora? how would that benefit anyone?”
“benefit? people just like that sorta stuff. it’s entertaining for them.”
“i see. do you like that sort of stuff?”
the way he asked that question was adorable.
oh no, did you just find him adorable? he literally tried to kill you, nahida and the traveler not too long ago. how could you find him adorable?
“i– i do like watching dances. nilou’s my favorite dancer. i make sure not to miss out on any sabzeruz festivals or just any sumerian festivals.” you rubbed the back of your neck.
“hm.” he looked like he was actually considering it.
“hey, wanderer, (y/n).” nahida greeted, approaching the both of you.
“oh, nahida! it’s nice to see you again.”
“it’s nice to see you too, (y/n). i’d like to thank you once more for your help back then. traveler and i really appreciated the gesture.” nahida smiled at you then turned to wanderer. “how have you been faring, wanderer?”
“tch, it’s you again–“ he stopped, remembering he wasn’t supposed to act like his arrogant, aggressive self before (at least in front of you). “i mean i’m fine. selling fruit isn’t too hard.” it wasn’t as hard as shedding blood every single day.
“i’m glad you’re doing well.” nahida put a hand on her chest.
“well, i got to go now. you guys continue talking. goodluck with your new job, wanderer. see you around, nahida.” you said, giving them a wave, and left before wanderer could say anything else.
“you have feelings for her, don’t you?” nahida noticed his expression turn from soft to irritated. “i can see the longing look in your eyes.”
“shut up. you ruined everything with your presence.” he grumbled.
he watched as you were getting further and further away from him.
you would be his someday. he’d make sure of that. and once you were his, he wouldn’t ever spend a day apart from you. he would treat you so well. he would shower you in gifts (using his self-earned mora), take you out on “dates” (a human activity where you bring your partner to eat somewhere beautiful, he learned) and eventually confess his feelings to you.
if you return his feelings, oh that would make him the happiest puppet alive. he would happily sweep you off your feet and start a brand new life together with you.

BARBATOS, The First.
MASTERLIST | MORAX | BEELZEBUL
cw: yandere!venti, sub!venti, dom!reader, they/them pronouns, unwanted advances, obsessive behavior, public sex, cock stepping, also a warning for yandere!venti’s overall behavior.
a/n: i had a taglist for this but i lost it LMAO
Tumblr media
———
You’ve always noticed how different he acted towards you since the beginning.
The way he sits on your lap playfully, grinding himself without warning and when you ask him what he’s doing, he always pretends to be drunk although you were aware of his schemes.
Or when you’re wearing a skirt and somehow the Monstadt breeze always got stronger, your thighs or more accidentally showing even if you tried to pull it down.
And let’s not forget the time when he intentionally triggered his allergies so you could take care of him while he was “sick”. You didn’t doubt the fact that he was capable of taking care of himself.
You touch the rim of your glass, thinking about him. While it was definitely annoying, it sure did work and got your attention.
“That bard is quite strange, isn’t he?” You asked the bartender in front of you and he takes the empty glass from your hands to give you another fill.
“What’s strange is that he isn’t here chatting your ear off while you drink.” Diluc stated in annoyance. Archon knows how much the bard has actually ended up drunk under the table.
“Perhaps he hasn’t heard that I’ve come back to visit?” You questioned.
“He knows. If he says he doesn’t then he’s obviously lying. That bard knows more than you think.”
“Yet, he’s nowhere to be seen… How peculiar.”
“To think that we have a whole festival offering him flowers and yet he shows such indecent acts says a lot about our city.”
You stop before taking another sip of the alcohol in your hands. “What?”
The redhead stood in awe, realizing he’d made a mistake. “Forget what I said, I thought you knew.”
“Ragnvindr. Are you saying?”
He neither confirmed nor denied it.
You laughed at the new information. It was unbelievable, truly. “But, he’s so tiny? I could cup his face with my palms.”
“Get out. Don’t mention this to anyone.” He ordered.
“Excuse me?”
The next thing you knew, you were outside as Diluc closed earlier from the situation. Well, he was supposed to close earlier but with your pleading he served you a few glasses.
It did make sense, as strange as it sounded. Still, the idea of Venti being the Anemo Archon?
That and the fact that he’s obsessing with you made you want to go home and sleep.
Although, going home was never really an option for a traveler like you.
Should you really pester the Darknight Hero for a room?
You decided against it and went for a midnight stroll instead. There weren’t many hilichurls around due to the Honorary Knight getting rid of them for a quick bag of mora.
The stars were shining as you walked through the land of Mondstadt.
That still didn’t prepare you for the brightness that came along with the Anemo Archon appearing in front of you.
It looked like something out of a drama. A God staring down at a human as he fluttered his wings, creating strong breezes around the two of them.
Fuck. Was this really Venti?
The Anemo Archon presented himself in a form you haven’t seen before. Pure and white wings on his back, with a rather revealing outfit than his usual.
“Well, this is new.” You said.
He tightened his lips as he stared at you like you were his. “I’ve fallen for you, (Name). Why can’t you see that?”
A confession at this hour. One, which you did not appreciate either.
“I’m not looking for anything serious right now, so.” You scratch your head. Alice never wrote a book about rejecting Gods when they confess to you out of nowhere.
Barbatos floated towards you, clasping your hands together. “(Name). You don’t want another city to fall into ruins, do you?”
“Are you threatening me?”
You chuckled. “My, I’ve never thought Barbatos to be such a brat who rattles around if he doesn’t get what he wants.”
His wings quickly fluttered around.
“I’m not!” He yelled. “You don’t get it. Ever since I first saw you, I knew you were different from any other human I’ve met.”
You aggressively pulled him towards you by his braid. “I think you’re the one not understanding, Venti.”
“I’m not accepting a confession from someone who acts like a cheap whore. Surely, you can do better than that.” You scolded and it seemed to be working with how red his face got with each word that you tell him.
“You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?”
You pulled on his hair again, your faces centimeters away from each other. He presented himself to be intimidating when he came over here and yet all you see right now is a puny little god, one who grit his teeth and trying not to let an unwanted noise come out from his throat even if the white shorts he’s wearing is leaving nothing to the imagination, his cock twitching from your words.
“I’m not—” He fumbled over his words, he knew just how enamored he was but he didn’t expect it to this effect.
“It’s not like that…” The red on his cheeks deepened.
“Do you really need to travel to the other regions? Haven’t I made Monstadt the perfect home for you?!”
You never asked for any of those, you wanted to say.
“I’m even offering myself to you. Isn’t that enough?”
There are tears coming out of his eyes and you couldn’t understand whether these were actually his true feelings or he was trying to guilt you into accepting his confession.
Either way, it was working.
The Archon embraced you tightly, pressing his cock against you and humping your thigh like a desperate bitch needy for attention.
He’s sensitive.
Right, someone like him would have been void of this kind of intimacy.
You waited until Venti was flushing heavy, moans signaling that he was close to cumming on you.
Then, you stopped him.
“Ah—Wait!” He mewled pathetically from the ruined orgasm.
“You don’t do things unless I say so, alright?” You warned him, the whole shtick of grinding against you without permission was getting old.
“Lay on the ground, Barbatos.”
Venti hesitated, unsure of how exactly. Eventually, he rested his back on the ground with his hands crossed together. He stared up at you, opposite of how you two were at the beginning of this whole conversation.
If you told him you were a god born in a human’s body, he would believe it.
His back arched as he felt you step on his groin, your shoe aggressively putting pressure on his already sensitive cock.
“Haah–(Name)-” He breathed out.
His wings moved involuntarily while you continued stepping on him. Venti writhed on the ground, moaning your name repeatedly as if it were the only thing he could remember.
“Don’t close your thighs together.”
“C-cant…’m trying.” He complained.
“Hold them for me.”
Venti puts his hands on his knees, spreading his legs open just for you. His trembling fingers barely even did anything more than when they were on the ground.
“I like this outfit on you, should wear it more often to show off how much of a whore you are to your people.”
He wailed in response, drooling at your words.
“Do you like it, Venti? Do you like it when I degrade you less than dirt?” You asked.
He shook his head, muttering ‘no’ over his whimpering.
You pressed down harder and Venti choked on his breathing, coughing in embarrassment.
“You say that…but my shoe is getting cleaned from how soaked you are. Not to mention, your feathers are all over the place.”
“I’m c-close–(Name), please…want to-”
Venti moaned louder, he wasn’t even holding himself back even if he knew that the two of you were in public, that if anyone were to see how he looked now then they would be able to figure out that their dear Barbatos was the one creaming on the ground.
“Admit it first. Maybe, I’ll consider it.”
“Admit–what?”
You removed your shoe away from his cock and were immediately met with pleading. “No, no. Please, (Name),”
“Yes-yes. I like it when you talk to me that way. I like how you ignore me even if I’m bouncing up and down on your lap at Angel’s Share. I love how you treat me like I don’t mean anything to you.” Venti confessed.
“You’re sweet, Venti. You’re such a good boy for me.”
You placed your foot back on him moving around until he was helplessly sobbing from pleasure, cumming while screaming your name out as loud as he could.
Venti panted, his cock continuing to leak out even after he’s done with his orgasm.
You went on your knees, head still above his.
You caressed his wings which lay flat on the ground. “I like this one.”
“What–Hmpf!” He bit his lip in pain as you plucked out one of his feathers.
“I think I’ll keep it. You don’t mind, do you?”
“No–anything for you, of course.” He quickly answered.
“Then, let’s continue.”
Venti’s hole seemed prepared for you already. Still, you inserted two of your fingers inside him and felt his walls around. “Do you finger yourself, Venti? Do you think of me while you get yourself off?”
“Hh–yes.”
You inserted another finger in for his honesty, touching every part of his insides and avoiding his prostate, no matter if tried to plunge himself deeper for it.
“Close your eyes. Tell me exactly what you think.”
You removed your fingers while you listened to every detail he said out loud. “I imagine you placing me on my back and pounding me from how tired you are of me.”
You followed his directions, placing Venti on his back and pushing yourself in without warning. Venti gasped loudly, stopping his story momentarily until he realized that you weren’t going to move unless he continued.
“You pound me rough and deep, filling me up–as–ah!” He faced the ground, eyes still closed. He wouldn’t dare open them.
“You-you.” He tried to focus while feeling you all inside of him, how warm you are, how you hit his spots and how your hand is pushing his back down.
“You let me scream—hh—as l-loud as I can, how you’d love to parade me around like t-this to everyone, that my mouth could do better than tell tales.”
Venti continued to moan, gripping the grass on the ground and unable to hold himself from the pleasure.
“You say that the only time I should open my mouth is when I use it to please you.” He finished.
You grinned, this bard of yours sure let his imaginations run wild.
“And I bet you liked that, didn’t you?”
“Mhm—So, please don’t go anymore, (Name). You can have me a-all you want.” He said from underneath you.
You enveloped his dick in your hands. pushing him to his limit while his prostate was getting abused by your rough and quick movements.
Venti shivered flat on the ground as he came once more, saying your name over and over again.
“So?” The bard asked.
You entered Angel’s Share, desperately wanting a drink after you had ventured from Dragonspine for a quest. Diluc took a single look at you and grunted.
“Ragnvindr, the usual.”
He eyed your side and tutted his tongue.
“To think I was enjoying not seeing the two of you together and now he looks like he’s attached to your hip.” He elaborated.
Venti hugged your arm, snuggling on it as if it were a pillow. “Oh dear bartender, I think you’d find me attached to more than their hip!”
The redhead looked as if he wanted to throw the bard out right now. “I didn’t need to hear that.”
He tilted his head at you. “I’m putting his debt on your tab.”
“I can’t get rid of him, unfortunately, would cry his eyes out if I do.” You replied.
“(Name)? I’m here, you know!” He waved his hands in front of you and you continued to ignore him.
You hoped to yourself that claiming a god as your partner (of sorts) won’t go anywhere more difficult.

Venti x Reader
summary: Venti and his continually reincarnated lover
wordcount: 1.4k+ | tags: mild angst, fluff, reincarnation trope
pairing: venti
Barbatos knew ever since he had taken the form of his friend that life was fickle. He watched people pass on like grains of sand in a time glass, one after the other, soon forgotten about as others followed suit. But the wind does not forget. Not so easily.
He once again felt his bleary eyes open, the calls of his people ringing behind his ears. He felt anemo swirl up around him, eyes flicking around the forest he lay in. It was different than when he closed his eyes, bushes in the wrong place and trees moved, but it was not much of a shock. He felt the prayers of his people chorus behind his ears and heeded their call.
And then he met you. You, who was so fierce and brave and still so kind yet in the face of war. He watched as you fought, talked with you, and sat complacent as you charmed him. You had asked for his name, once. He had told you to call him Venti and to remember him as the eccentric bard home to Mondstadt.
And then he watched as you were slain. You had been strong, vision or not, but you were unlucky just once. And Barbatos watched as your chest concaved to the force of the blade, and as your blood joined the many already fallen, and he felt a strange sense of calm as an arrow flew through the head of the enemy.
Barbatos mourned you, just like he did every mortal. He mourned you by the bottle, by the sweetness of the wine that trickled down his throat. He mourned you as he mourned all the fallen of Mondstadt he couldn’t protect, as he mourned those who died trying to protect the nation he held so dear.
During a Windbloom Festival, over two hundred years later, Venti saw your eyes again. You had changed- you were a little shorter, hair a little lighter- but those eyes, with a bold determination as you bickered with a shopkeeper about her price of goods, he couldn’t forget. Your mannerisms stayed unchanged, you still had the familiar inflections and your hands still held the hems of your clothing when you were stressed.
Venti slips behind you, glancing towards the rather annoyed shopkeeper.
“What seems to be the matter here?” He chirps, voice light as he smiles towards the two of you. The shopkeeper barely spares him a glance before dismissing him.
“I’m sorry, I can’t take payment right now.” She turned back to you, eyes sharpening to a glare in an instant.
“And I told you, I won't lower my prices. What you see is what you pay.” Venti winces as you grind your teeth, watching you become more agitated.
“Your prices are extortionate.” As you continue to rant, Venti looks down at the shop's products. You had been pretty accurate- for selling simple wrappers to hold windblooms when gifting them, they were at a high price. When glancing around, he found this was the only stand selling them.
“It takes advantage of people just wanting to enjoy Windbloom- how did you even decide this was fair?” The shopkeeper stares at you flatly.
“Inflation.”
“The economy has been on an incline for a while, you lying-” Venti places a couple of mora on the table, cutting you off. He grins at the cashier, eyes twinkling.
“I believe this should be enough, correct?” The shopkeeper diverts her attention immediately to the coins, swiping them off the counter before any objections. She thumbs over them, waiting a few seconds before pushing the bundle of paper towards you.
“Take it. Next.”
Venti dragged you to the side, glancing at you. You were a bit dazed by his action, eyes trailing up from the bundle of thin papers in your hands to stare at him- studying him. So, he thought, it was only fair to return the favor. You surely had changed, your clothing less knightley and more of the common folk- and you dressed comfortably, too, which was good- but as your eyes dragged over his own appearance he found himself admiring that familiar fire, kept safe within the borders of your iris.
“You…” he hears your voice, hesitant and unsure, and hates how it reminds him of your demise. Your former demise, he supposes.
“We haven’t… met before, have we?”
Barbatos finds himself strangely silent, feeling the warmth as you hold his hand to keep him still. Like he would run. And he finds himself smiling, whether from the absurdity of that notion or the look on your face he didn’t know.
“Maybe when we were younger.”
It's a few years later when Venti finds himself gently strumming his lyre, your head in his lap, during a bright summer day. It was cool, with the wind constant and the shade of the tree at Windrise. You were dozing off, smiling as you listened to his song. And when you looked up at him, eyes tired yet shining and happy, he couldn’t stop himself from pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. He loved the way your eyes crinkled as your smile widened, and he relished the way you pulled him back down for a proper kiss.
It was these small moments Venti cherished, where the two of you shared these quiet moments together, where he could simply enjoy your company. The moments the both of you could just sit, stop for just a moment, where he could hold you and sing to you and you could just be happy with him.
And then you died again.
It was different this time, though. You had lived long this time, the crows feet beneath your eyes that used to only appear as you smiled became more permanent. He wished he could have grown old with you. He wished he had the heart to change his form from how he died, to give you the sembalance of growing old with your partner. He wept in your arms time after time, agonized over that fact.
But even if he could age, Barbatos thinks, it wouldn’t change anything when you eventually passed. While even when a gust of wind peeters out, it only resumes someplace else. At a different time.
He held your hand, bony and thin as it was, as you looked at him with the smile he so adored. And you passed.
And so he slept, for years and years and years, until he was needed again.
He would wake again and again and again, and would meet you again and again and again. Sometimes your hair would be different, other times your frame. But your eyes were always the same. They always looked at him with a distant sort of recognition, and that small flame would always be lit.
He would never force his way into your life. There were lifetimes that went by where you simply said hello to him on the street, just as many as the two of you would become friends. You would have your own loves too, aside from him. He found that any lover he would try to have would only remind him of you, so he abstained.
In the times you were gone, sleep and wine became his friends. His children of Mondstadt were easy to converse with, yes, lively and kind as they were. But they never had the comfortable familiarity you brought. Only the remembering of ghosts long past.
Venti finds you again, years later, humming a gentle song on the base of the tree of Windrise. And you look up as he walks over, smiling. But he stops, shocked, as he sees more than just the usual faint recognition in your eyes. There was something… more there. He can’t help himself from gently murmuring your name, and just the sound sends you smiling and laughing.
He feels you crash into him, shocked still, arms instinctually wrapping around you. Venti finds himself laughing along with you, the bottle of wine he had brought to drink dropped somewhere to his side. When he finds your eyes, he sees recognition he hadn’t seen in them before- at least, when the two of you met for the first time. And he sees your eyes filling with tears: of relief, happiness, and other emotions he couldn’t place.
“You haven’t changed a day, my love.” You smile up to Venti, grinning wide as he gently wipes your tears from your face. Your smile wavers for a moment, growing bittersweet. “I thought I’d never see you again.”
And Barbatos smiles, gentle, as he runs his fingers through your hair.
“For as long as the wind blows, I will protect you, just as you have protected I.”
And you smile. And he thinks that his patience has been worth it.

soft, icy crystals of silken snow fell from liyuen skies, a crisp blanket over wangshu inn. said inn had never appeared so serene before; there was a gentle whisper of the wind that breezed through leaves, the divine light of the moon a stark contrast to the deep inky black of the winter sky.
you were sat, awaiting your lover’s return. on the table- two plates of freshly prepared grilled tiger fish, made just for him. the favourite meal of your favourite guy, just in time for the festive season. they were cooling quickly due to his absence, yet you didn’t want to eat without him. he was late. later than he usually was when his duties would keep him out for longer than intended. worry clawed its way into your heart, ripping any semblance of hope to shreds. it made its way to your head, screaming at you to go find him.
right as you were about to move from the table, there was a smoky flashy. wisps of anemo disappeared as quick as they came, leaving in their wake your beloved xiao.
you rushed towards him, arms wrapping tight around his. you peppered his face with small kisses, doing more than enough to convey your worry to your adeptus. you pulled away, hands shifting to his shoulders, to ask,
“xiao, where have you been?”
to this, he winced, and that’s when you noticed. his hand was clutching his side. traces of blood seeped through the thin fabric of his shirt and onto the scarred skin of his hand.
you gasped, shocked still. it took a second to realise he was still bleeding while you stood before him, so you rushed to move him to a chair. seeing the urgency in your eyes, he followed without complaint, knowing any resistance will just worsen the pain. you hurried over to the cabinet, returning to your lover with bandages and disinfectant after washing and drying your hands. he rested awkwardly on his side, jaw clenched and eyes shut tight. gently, you reached for his hand, disinfectant at the ready.
the wound was, admittedly, not terrible. not as bad as one would assume, what with it being more of an unfortunately placed graze than anything. a deep, stinging graze. but not bad. regardless, you dressed the wound to the best of your ability, a skill you’ve been practicing since you fell in love with the yaksha.
with your main concerns put to rest, you remained on the floor, hands resting on xiao’s knees. you gazed up at his face expectantly, his eyes now open, but averted.
“darling..? are you alright?” receiving no response, you followed his eye-line, having completely forgotten what was on the table. there was… your stone cold dinner. before you could voice your apologies, xiao spoke up,
“don’t worry, my qingxin. im sure it was delicious, your cooking always is. i appreciate it still,” despite his shaky breaths, you could hear in sincerity in his voice. you looked to him, his favourite smile on your lips.
“here, for you,” he hands you a small qingxin, its petals somehow still pristine, “i picked it for you before the fight. i’m… surprised it lasted this long.”
“it’s a christmas miracle…” he offers a rare smile, placing the pretty flora behind your ear before reaching for the back of your neck, pulling you in. wanting to avoid any strain, you leaned up the rest of the way, meeting his lips in a sweet kiss.
his injuries may not have been lethal, and as regular an occurrence they may have been, you were glad he was still there with you to spend christmas together. you’ll have to thank your lucky stars for the miracle of him.
