he watches you carefully from the cooling shade of the tree above. whatever you're currently off doing, it seems to be entertaining you much more than usual. but there's something entirely charming about the way you find such joy in the timid moments teyvat gives you.

the gentle breeze sways past the two of you bringing in the salty scents of the nearby port and the mountainous ranges just beyond. he closes his eyes just a moment, soaking in the sound of your bubbling laughter and the symphonic winds.

"xiao!"

his eyes flicker open and, in a moment, he's at your side. he seems rather alert for a second before he realizes there is a board smile dressed across your face.

"is something the matter?"

you shake your head; that odd, little grin neglects to fade from your features. he raises an eyebrow at your behavior.

"no, just wanted to see you. oh, here."

and suddenly your hand is reaching towards him and you're leaning in a little too close and his breath catches in the back of his throat and now he's debating whether or not he should lean in too and—

"you had a leaf in your hair."

xiao turns a brilliant shade of red as your hand pulls back and you reveal a little green leaf. he stumbles through a mismatched phrase before you stop him with that stupid grin.

"what? did you want something else instead?"

you can practically see the steam burst from his ears.

— 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢

another night, another set of drinks for the anemo archon and his beloved. venti belts out a brilliant set of notes for just the two of you as you plop down beside him on the grassy hillside. the moonlight streaks down on you both through the stony fingers of the statue of seven.

"do you think master diluc will notice?" he mumbles aloud.

"notice what?"

"the wine we stole!"

you laugh, waving him off. "i left some mora on the counter, i'm certain he can put two and two together."

venti joins your laughter. then he strums the strings of his favored lyre. venti feels the buzz of alcohol hit the back of his throat and he's grateful for this brief moment of mundanity the two of you have been given.

"oh, venti."

he turns as you call him and it's at that moment he realizes just how close you've gotten to his face. his eyes briefly flicker down to your lips and the buzzed gaze in your eyes.

then you pull back, having grasped the bottle of wine behind him with a grin.

"another round?" you pause, noting the pink dusting his pale cheeks and the way he looks absolutely hypnotized with you."

"oh? did you think i was going to kiss you?"

venti seems to snap out of his trance and gives you an apparent pout. "of course! why else would you get so close?!"

"to get the wine?" you shake the bottle a little, raising an eyebrow at him.

"wah! then just ask me! now kiss me properly!"

kazuha's grown a little tired of your constant teasing for today. perhaps you woke up a little too mischievous this morning, but he's not sure how much longer he can tolerate your behavior.

once: this morning while attempting to wake him up, he was certain he caught you trying to kiss him. and yet, he was surprised to hear that you were just brushing hair out of his eyes.

twice: early in the afternoon when you grasped his waist and looked at him from over his shoulder. he even unconsciously leaned in towards you, but instead you moved in to your right in order to pass.

and now three times: after lunch, having just watched you walk away after cupping the side of his face and leaning in, only to be met with you wiping crumbs off his face.

"kazuha, is something the matter?"

he stares at you before flashing you a smile you're certain is bound to be trouble.

"not at all, but would you like to explain your actions today?"

"what actions?"

"are you playing coy with me now, y/n?"

"whatever are you talking about?"

kazuha leans in, reaching to grasp your chin and adjusting it to match your eyes to his. his eyes flicker down to your lips and the butterflies in your stomach swarm almost violently.

then, he stops, pulling back with an overly-sweet smile.

"still don't know what i'm talking about?"

you swallow thickly, taking in the peeved expression in his eyes. whoopsies.

he should be used to these types of long night chats. he wants to be used to the way your voice chimes about the challenges of the day or the pleasures of it. but he also finds it addicting all at the same time.

the light of the candles illuminate your face as he listens carefully to you. whatever you're talking about has to do with something he can no longer attempt to remember. but you haven't asked him any questions on his comprehension of the matter so he doesn't clarify anything.

instead he watches your lips. the way they look so kissable, so delectable, so... ah, what were you saying again?

scaramouche snaps out of his stupor upon hearing his name leave your tongue. but, even then he hopes his eyes weren't about to tell you what exactly he was paying attention to.

"what?" he spits out.

"nothing, you seem a little distracted."

"well, you're wrong. i'm just getting sleepy is all."

you chuckle, scooting just a couple inches over to him. "i think i understand what's going on."

your face grows nearer to his and he can feel his heart ready to beat out of his chest and his face turn redder by the second. his eyes flicker down to your lips once more and for just a moment, he has to snap those eyes down to prevent them from tattling on his intentions.

your lips just barely graze his own and by then his skin is bursting red. but, you stop and you grin at him.

"you want to kiss me, is that right?"

scaramouche's eyes light up in a strangling embarrassment, but instead of the words he's ought to say it comes out a sputtering mess of emotions and excuses.

"what!? no! of course not! you- i—" then he pauses, grasping onto your wrist, "stop saying stupid shit like that and just kiss me if you're gonna do it already, okay??"

Mondstadt Men Teasing You About Your Crush and Not Knowing it's Them

Pairing: Kaeya, Diluc, Venti, Albedo x Reader

A/N: Bit more fluff cause I plan going with nothing but smut tomorrow.

Kaeya is relentless in his teasing from the moment he catches onto the fact that you like someone. He has always been a tease, lately more then usual you've noticed and he seems to be spending more time around you with the excuse of seeing who you're head over heels for. Call him nosey and overprotective and even jealous. Or actually he'll admit that he wants to be there when you confess so he can tease you some more. He accidentally catches you practicing your confession and right as he's about to leave he hears you say you love him. Despite this he doesn't ruin your confession, he waits patiently for you to do it when you're ready and to answer, but you bet he will still tease you for it.

Diluc asks who this person is, they must be pretty great if they have your head spinning. Since you're a little nervous every time he's around he assumes it must be someone he knows. Don't try to avoid saying the name he will find out, he knows you too well. At least he thought he knew you well, apparently not well enough to pick up on the fact that the you've only been flustered by him and no one else, or that you always glance at his lips. Only his lips. It's him?! Are you sure? Cause if so he has a confession to make, he's been looking at your lips too and he'd love to know what they feel like against his for the first time. It was all that he imagined and more, because this time it was real.

Venti teases you a lot but only when you're alone. Can't let your crush hear and have your confession be ruined. Even goes out of his way to help you write a love letter to your crush. You can see that he's not fully in it, you know he can do much better, but you don't say anything about it, blind to his feelings for you. His jealousy would never get in the way of your happiness and by the end he's helped you craft the perfect letter to confess your undying love to the one who captured your heart. Imagine his surprise when you turn around and tell him to read the letter. He does so, assuming there's something wrong with it, but his whole world stops when you step up to him as he finishes uttering the final words and kiss him.

Albedo offers to help you by telling you that you can practice your confession on him. That way when you really need to confess it won't be as embarrassing. You're cute when you're embaressed though, he likes it, so your crush might like it too, you never know. Except you do because your crush is him. He doesn't realize how much heart you're putting behind every word, he has this gentle smile on his lips the whole time though, as if in awe at the things you say. Whoever your crush is will be very happy to hear those words. You really hope so because you really want to know what he has to say. Oh. What he... has to... oh. He thought that it was beautiful, like the person saying the words, like the person he'd been pining over and wanted to kiss.

while xiao has many behaviors comparable to that of a cat, whenever it comes to something he wants, he gives you the puppy eyes. — and the funny thing is, he doesn't even realize he does them.

"xiao ? do you need something ?" you turned to the male standing a few feet away from you, by the door of the room which he just closed behind him. to you, he looked fidgety, like he did indeed need something. but to him, he — archons he can't even deny it himself, he does need something.

he needed your attention, your affection, come on that's not too much to ask, right ? he's been venturing away from the inn more frequently due to the random increase of monsters in the area that he takes upon himself to wipe out, and whenever he returns it's always clashing with your own schedule, be it you'd be in the middle of a long discussion with the innkeeper, or you'd be sound asleep in your shared room.

the poor thing has been deprived of your attention for some time now, so it wouldn't be too much to ask for your time, right ?

"uhm . . ." he just couldn't seem to get it out. his fingers wrinkled the fabric of his sleeve as you moved your chair to more easily face him. "take your time now, xiao. would you like to come here ?" you beckoned him over to you, to which he quickly accepted, walking over to you and standing right in front of you. you wrapped your arms around his waist, pulling him in and hugging him as you looked up against his chest, waiting for him to continue.

he knew you were trying to encourage him, but please, this is only making him even shyer.

"i just wanted your . . attention." your eyes lit up when he finished, looking up at him with surprise. "attention ?" you sat up, your arms still around him as xiao's eyes darted around the room in embarrassment. "mhm . . please." his voice was rather hushed, but when his golden eyes met yours, you saw that he was pleading, for you to give him what he wanted. and who would deny that ?

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ｡ﾟ ⊹ㅤshikanoin heizou !ㅤ

heizou, heizou is a menace, take that as you will. he will get what he wants from you, much like a sassy yet playful cat waking you up early in the morning for you to feed it. absolute cat eyes behavior.

being a detective, he knows all the right methods to get his way, to obtain what he wants and needs. and he definitely takes advantage of that when it comes to craving your love.

"baby ~ please, don't ignore me ~" his hands are wrapped around your waist, his head in the crook of your neck, and he was acting like a child. "babe, just a few minutes, promise." you tried to reassure him, but those few minutes, to the detective, are being wasted !

because really, you're prioritizing soup over him ?! well - okay, it is dinner for the two of you, he loves your cooking, so he should watch his mouth, but come on ! he's been drowning in cases as a detective, when he would much rather be drowning in your affection.

"just a kiss ? just a kiss, please ~ ?" he won't be satisfied with just a kiss, but he swears it'll be enough to shut him up for a whole minute ! "promise, when i finish, you'll get more than one kiss, okay ?" you attempted to persuade him, and it was tempting. but you're just trying to shoo him away ! detective shikanoin heizou will not be shooed away ! but then again, more than one kiss ? he'll have to contemplate his choices here . .

"oh fine, i'll sit right here then." he says, and proceeds to sit on the counter where you were working. you shot him a 'what the hell are you doing ?' type glare, only for him to give you the teasing eyes of a cat urging you to pet it. oh, the urge to shove him off is strong. but you endure it because he is damned pretty, and you can't do much against a pretty man basically begging for your attention.

"are you done now ?" "almost, just plating." you scooped some rice into two separate bowls and served with soup too. "now ?" "not yet." your eyes examined the counter in search for the jar of pepper. "have you seen the pepper ?" "right here." he raised his hand up, revealing the jar of seasoning you were looking for, only to raise it higher and out of your reach when you moved to take it. "babe, give it." you tugged on his shirt as he pouted, "kiss me for it." "babe." "kiss, kiss." he was puckering his lips out for you now, like the needy partner he is. "oh my archons." and despite you rolling your eyes at him, you did give in and kissed him, but, only on the cheek. and when he made a gasp of surprise, you took the opportunity to grab the jar of pepper.

"he - hey ! that was so cheating !" "you'll get kisses later, eat first."

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ｡ﾟ ⊹ㅤkaedehara kazuha !ㅤ

he's the type to say please everytime he kisses you, what do you expect ? those puppy eyes are irresistible. don't even make him wait, just give him what he wants, he deserves it anyway.

"my dear ?" you perked up from your place on the comfortable, cold, wooden bench, forgetting about the book you were just reading as kazuha stood in front of you. "dearest ! take a seat, did you need something ?" you sat up, making room on the bench for him to sit, which he gladly did. "i just wanted to spend the rest of this afternoon with you. besides, the wind is gentle on the sails today." he gazed at the waters that the alcor was currently on. the ship was temporarily stopped near a small village on the outskirts of liyue for the crew to rest.

"it certainly is." your eyes followed his, watching the way the light from the sun danced on the surface of the waves. it mesmerized you, and kazuha won't deny that it was a beautiful scenery. "it sure is a beautiful scenery." "undeniably so," you nodded your head in agreement, still watching the waves — though, you seemed to miss the fact that the 'beautiful scenery' that kazuha was referring to, was actually you. while he can't deny that the waves looked especially mesmerizing today, your beauty would rival it if he does say so himself.

"[name] ?" only when kazuha called your name did you turn back to meet his cherry eyes. you shifted to sit closer to him as you hummed for him to continue. "would i be . . would i be selfish to ask that you give me your undivided attention, even for just this hour ?" he managed to finish, his eyes trained on the thick wooden planks of the alcor, missing the way your cheeks heated up. "no, i don't think you'd be selfish. you are my boyfriend after all, but why do you ask so suddenly ?" "it's silly, just that we've both been busy." he moved to lay his head on your lap, which you wordlessly accepted. "i was feeling deprived of your time."

at his confession, who were you to judge him ? you looked down at him and cupped his face with one hand, brushing through his hair with the other.

"then, let me make it up to you, hm ?" you started to pepper his face with kisses. and as he was about to meet your lips, a familiar voice cleared her throat in front of you two, causing you both to shoot up.

"for the sake of the rest of the crew, get a room you two." beidou teased.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ｡ﾟ ⊹ㅤventi !ㅤ

the way this man would shamelessly beg for you attention, puppy eyes are certain.

"sweetheart, darling, love of my life, my dandelion, my sweet—" venti's long recital of his pestering list of cheesy but sweet nicknames was cut off when you softly slapped a hand over his mouth, only for him to lick your palm like a child. "ack - venti !" "pay attention to me !"

his methods of catching your attention was growing rather embarrassing, especially in public. here you were, trying to maintain a serious conversation with charles, the bartender at angel's share, only for your boyfriend to waltz in and do all of this.

"you have an interesting choice in . . suitors." charles commented, shooting you a sympathetic look as you sighed, opting to squeeze venti's face in your chest to shush him for a few seconds. "he's like this when he's needy, which is most of the time." "my only hope is that he treats you well." "hey !"

eventually, you gave up and dragged venti out of the tavern with you, choosing to save some of your dignity for the night. for your boyfriend, you don't know if being a popular bard makes it so that his dignity is immune to it, or makes it so that it was all gone long ago.

"are you mad ?" "not really, just embarrassed." "well if you weren't ignoring me maybe i wouldn't have caused such a fuss." you rolled your eyes and smiled at your boyfriend's childish defense. "i know, i know." your hands were intertwined as you kept walking back to your shared apartment.

"will you pay attention to me now ?" you pulled venti close and landed a brief kiss on his lips, only to continue walking with your hands intertwined. "will that be enough until we get home ?"

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ｡ﾟ ⊹ㅤwanderer !ㅤ

cat eyes, hissing, biting. sometimes he reminds you more of a cat than an actual boyfriend. but, oh well.

"don't ignore me." "love, i'm not ignoring you." "yes you are." "no, i'm not." "yes you are."

your boyfriend shot you a glare from his place on your bed, across the room. he watched as you continued to read a book on your desk, irking him that you weren't next to him instead. "you're ignoring me." he spoke again, earning a sigh from you. "no i'm not." "then why are you so far away ?" he retaliated, leaning up on his elbow and resting his chin on his palm, the other hand gripping your pillow next to him. "i can't read on the bed, kuni." "why not ?" "i don't like reading while laying down." he huffed. "you can sit on the bed, you just don't want to be next to me." he pointed at your back accusingly, pouting like an ignored child.

finally, this caused you to turn to face him, the most puzzled stare on your features. "now where'd you get that ?" "you're sitting so far away, when you could sit here instead." he closed his eyes, facing the ceiling instead.

now that you've finally turned to him, he chooses to face the ceiling ?!

"come on, kuni. i'm not ignoring you." "hmph !" what the hell are you supposed to do with this man ?

you let out a loud sigh, closing your book and setting it on the side of your desk. finally getting up to move over to him. "kuni ~" oh that's not fair, don't say his name like that. he rolled over to his side and faced the wall as the bed shifted slightly when you finally sat next to him. "kuni ~" your arm snaked around his torso as you leaned over him, waiting for him to look at you. at this, the man started to glare at the wall, growing stiff in his place.

you sighed, opting to pulling him down and sitting on top of him, which finally, finally worked for him to look at you. your hands rested on his chest as you looked down at him triumphantly.

"now am i ignoring you ?" "what the - don't you sit on me !" you shushed him with a kiss to the lips. "now am i ignoring you ?"

he scoffed shyly, "no - no. no you're not."

Sleep Headcanons💤

How your non-human husbandos need or not need to sleep. This is part of Better Find Husbandos AU and speaks of the times when reader was in a relationship with each of the boys. Contains: fluff! Domestic slice of life! Headcanons canon for Better Find Husbandos!

Characters: Venti, Albedo, Xiao, Scara/Wanderer/Kuni in order x female reader. (arranged in the order reader slept with them :3)

Venti

The body your dear wind spirit created to inhabit completely resembles the one of a human. Even if he is strong and resistant due to his nature, he needs to eat, drink, go to the bathroom, etc, to sustain this vessel without resorting to using his Archon or wind spirit powers, which cost energy that is no longer unlimited now that he doesn't have the Gnosis anymore.

Therefore, obviously, he totally needs to sleep. He sleeps every single night (or day, after a hangover) like any healthy human. That keeps him in shape and without the need to cheat and grab elemental or divine energy from his stash, which he only does when strictly needed. Because of this, in his humanoid, weakened state, it's really easy for him to get drunk. But if something very bad happens and he needs to sober up to protect you, he won't hesistate to grab that power and using it to strengthen or modify his body and fight alongside you.

As I said, he sleeps every night and he likes doing it with you. He was so happy when you gave him a room in your teapot, since then he didn't need to sleep on the street or sneaking under Diluc's vines to get shelter. But ever since you got intimate with him he doesn't use that room and to be perfectly clear, he has no intentions to go back to it. He crawls into your bed every single night and he loves it.

He uses the cute little pajamas you made for him when Barbara taught you how to sew, sleeping hat and all. He snuggles up to you and demands being little spoon. He snores all night, most of the time softly light a spring breeze, but some nights noisily like a hurricane, and he drools all over your pillow.

Albedo

Your dear friend Albedo, the chalkboy, the homunculus. It took a bit of time of friendship and some nights of sharing the bed with him whether because there was a snowstorm after you visited his lab and you were trapped or because he invited you with a straight face, but you learned about his sleeping habits too.

Very much like Venti, he needs to sleep and eat. He is a nice cook but he has weird tastes, such as eating spiders or so, but when he has guests he cooks decent food. He does have some resistance when it comes to spending some days without sleep, but it's not clear if this is due to his physical nature or his workaholic behavior. Sometimes he works for three days in his experiments running on 3 hours of sleep and caffeine seeminly unaffected. But besides those marathons, he does sleep regularly. He is careful with his health and the health of those close to him, like Klee and Sucrose, and he always exercises and eats healthy. (Matbe thst's why he is obsesses with the nutrients of spider and other unconventional foods) He is a grat brother and a grear friend and makes healthy foods for Klee and forces Sucrose in and out of bed whenever she is in one of those workaholic insomniac marathons or depressive strikes that prevent her from going out. After all, she doesn't have his superhuman resistance.

From the few times you slept with him, you know that he has a comfy double bed in a room behind his lab, sheltered from the frigid environment of Dragonspine. You were super comfy there, but honestly Albedo is kinda restless even when he sleeps. Apparently his curiosity doesn't stop even if he is dreaming, and he twitches and mumbles things about his experiments in his sleep. Sometimes he sits up, turns on the lamp, and writes notes on the notepad he keeps on the nightstand for when he gets ideas in the middle of the night. The few times you were with him, he apologized for waking you up, he gave you a warm smile and a gentle kiss and tucked you back, spooning you just to fall back asleep and mumble things about whopperflowers in your ear while his hand twitched like he was trying to write in his dreams.

Xiao

Xiao doesn't need to sleep. He can go an entire century without doing it, but it doesn't mean that doesn't take a toll on him, or that sleep doesn't help him. In fact, it's wonderful for his health, both psychological and physical, making him get stronger.

But sleeping is not easy for him. He hadn't slept in a long time, because he is scared of stopping his watch over Liyue for the smallest second, and because the nightmares he gets are atrocious.

It was only very deep into his relationship with you that you convinced him to sleep. The bond you have with him is so special, not only you cleanse his karmic debt energy but also your proximity manages to calm him down enough as to fall asleep. It took a long time to reach this stage but then when he laid by his side he could finally sleep, even if Venti was making a ruckus with his snoring and drooling. He loves him too, and wants to protect the both of you. So no, he doesn't need to sleep, and most of the time he is only keeping guard while in bed with you, enjoying the peace and quiet and your proximity, the sound of your breath. But sometimes he does relish in the luxury of sleeping by your side, and the morning after he always feels so refreshed that he feels like a different person: light, stronger, healthy.

He is a big spoon with an iron grip, his protective instincts never go down, not even when he is asleep.

Kuni

Ei created Kuni based on Khaenrian technology that aspired to create perfect humans, (such as Rinherdotir plans for Albedo) with a twist. She didn't want to create a human, he wanted a puppet that could fool humans into thinking that it was one of them.

She did succeed in making him indistinguishable from a human from head to toe. On the outside. But on the inside, he doesn't have the same organs humans have, (not even synthetic, improved humanly organs like the ones Albedo has) but synthetic organs that even if they are not like the ones of humans, they were designed to mimick their noticeable functions.

That is to say, as we all know, Kuni can drink and eat, and feel the flavor of the food. He loves bitter tea and despises sweets. But that doesn't mean he needs to expell those things. In fact, his "stomach" will dissolve everything with a potent acid which its recepy was lost along with Khaenria's demise.

So that's about all his bodily functions: he can perform them, to trick humans, because that was his original purpose. But he doesn't need to do it to survive. Eating, drinking, peeing, breathing. That is unnecessary keeping himself alive. That's just for show (As Kabukimono, not only he began drinking to pass as a human, but also he learned that he had to blink often to make humans less uncomfortable). Or for pleasure.

Because he knows you love when he breathes in your neck when he gives you kisses. And he loves to enjoy the flavor and aftertaste of a bitter black tea. Or to accompany you with a little platter of whatever you two are making for dinner for you and your glutton floaty companion.

Same goes for sleeping. He doesn't need to sleep. He could go an eternity without doing it and he would not die, his body would not get weaker. And as Kunikuzushi and Scaramouche, he never slept, he deemed it lowly and weak and he considered that the fact that he was able to wake himself from the slumber in which Ei put it was a signal of his superiority.

But sleeping is good for his mental health.

Ei planned his body meticulously, making sure to be in control of all his bodily functions. But as we all know, she everything regarding his mind slipped out of her control. She wanted a thoughtless, emotionless, empty puppet. But Kuni is so much more than that.

He had his own thoughts and emotions and desires from his first waking moment, and oh those feelings were human. They were so profoundly human Ei panicked and did what she did. Because if humans do have a soul, then Kuni definitely has one too.

And even if the body and brain don't tire, age or wear down, the mind does. The heart does. The soul does. Going around without sleeping won't make his body crumble, but it sure makes him stressed, irritable, depressed.

He got back in touch with the act of sleeping when he was still the Balladeer, when he started hooking up with you. Just to play. Just to experiment. After your passionate nights, he fell to the temptation of closing his eyes while you were cuddled up against him, nestled in his bed he never used before he met you. He was just planning to rest his eyes for a while, to experiment with those mundane pleasures. He never expected them to feel so good.

Nowadays, he loves sleeping. But it has to be with you. Otherwise, who would comfort him when he gets those atrocious nightmares??

When they don't haunt them, there's nothing better than to cuddle up against you in your shared bedroom in the Teapot after a long day. To close his eyes, hold you tight and relish in the warmth of your human flesh, of your steady breath, of your beating heart. Well, maybe there is something better: to wake up beside you the next morning and play with your hair until you wake up, laughing at you because you're grumpy that he interrupted your sleep.

He demands being big spoon all the time: he NEEDS to cling to you and cage you in his arms all night to feel like you will never abandon him because he truly doesn't want to end up alone again. He doesn't hate being little spoon though, it's just that it makes him feel so...vulnerable. Receiving love always makes him feel so vulnerable. Because it reminds him of how much he is convinced that he doesn't deserve it. So getting in contact with his feelings it's a struggle for him. He prefers when you hug face to face, when you nestle your face in his chest.

The same way he loves your human flesh, you love his truly special body. You love how cool it feels. It's not cold, it's just cool. His warmth is subtle, it's there, but it's not enough to make you sweat under the covers. He is the perfect cuddle buddy for summer! You love the way he syncs his breath to yours until you fall asleep. You love the sound you hear when you press your face to his chest. That sound you found that night when you held Scaramouche close for the first time in his camp. When you discovered it ticked.

He was defensive and ashamed back then, and he is insecure until today. He is convinced he doesn't have a heart, he can't press his ear to his chest, he can't hear the magical sound you claim to hear. He thinks it's your infatuation for him playing tricks with your mind.

But you know what you hear. When you nestle your face in his chest, on the left side, you can hear it. Tic, tac, tic, tac, steady, a mechanical sound ticking like a clock. Tictactictactictac, quickens, if you mamage to fluster him. It's the only sound that soothes your nights, along with your voice, so you sleep by his side every time you can.

But when you're away in yoyr travels, so busy or imprisoned in Meropide Fortress for stealing Furina's cake that you can't even go back to spend the night in the Teapot, what can he do?

He doesn't wanna sleep. There is no point. He has spent ages without doing it, so he can keep going without sleeping until you come back.

But...

He is now a college student, and the mental health toll of having to keep up with the Akademiya classes, his classmates that seem to chase him everywhere, and the constant deadlines of his thesis is too much to bear without sleeping. He knows he wouldn't be able to survive that hell without ending up snapping and kicking some sage's butt if he doesn't sleep regularly. He doesn't want to upset Nahida, so he does sleep when he has time. But it's just not the same without you! Hurry up and come back from those dumb travels to cuddle him!

Author Notes: I guess it surprises no one that Kuni's part is always longer ehe. Homegirl has her favorite. Also I'm super sorry I always do the same: posting a new random thought I had one night instead of finishing chaptwrs of ongoing series I've been promising for ages. I swear I'm working on them. I'm working on finishing that Albedo fic and I had a meeting with my editor (aka my boyfriend) to talk about the major plotpoints of Assembled Love and that gave me some inspo to write the next chapter. Im also working on another spin off chapter for it. (Honestly my most popular post is the other spin off, I wonder why)

Weird of me to post something that it's not smut, ain't it? 🤔 Normally my fluff has smut in it but ig this is like, my 3rd or 4th completely sfw post. Anyway, the posting of something new and random instead of finishing old wips is like a personality trait of mine 🥲 I struggle so much to finish old things cuz I don't find the right vibe that I craved to write something fresh and new. Note to self: hurry up and finish what I'm writing while it's new and the vibe is not gone, exactly what I did with the Assembled Love spin off that blew so much, I pulled an all nighter finishing it before I forgot the plot bc it was a dream I had.

You weren't really sure, all you knew was that Lyney was special ordering you a outfit for his next show and he'd asked his sister to measure you, only she seemed a little perplexed with the results. "You're eating right? You make sure to have three meals a day? Maybe even some snacks?"

You raised a eyebrow at her, "Yes of course. Why do you ask?"

She paused for a second, her features not giving any hint to what she was feeling, "Your measurements are just very small, for a second I was worried you might need to eat more."

"Nope, I was actually worried about that at first as well, but I always make food and she eats it. She's just naturally thin, which is exactly why I'm thinking you'll be perfect for the trick I have in mind...if that's alright of course?"

You and Lynette turned your attention to Lyney as he walked up to you, his eyes sparkling with inspiration as you contemplated his request. "Hmm do I get a kiss after the show?"

"As if you wouldn't mon amour~"

Venti wrapped his arms around your waist tightly and rested his chin on your shoulder, watching as ran your fingers over the details engraved in his lyre. He'd been teaching you how to play little by little everyday and now you could almost strum a whole song...but it still just didn't sound as good as when he played it, "Venti do you think one day my music will induce feelings like yours does? I want to play you a melody that leaves you feeling calm and happy, just like you do to me."

He smiled softly and kissed your cheek, his embrace growing slightly tighter around your slim waist, "I think one day you will make music that leaves everyone feeling calm and free, you have talent and a beauty even crystal flies would be jealous of."

You felt your cheeks heat up at his words and butterflies fill your stomach...one day. One day you'd play him a tune that explained every feeling just right and then when he held you tightly after, chuckling happily and making a joke about how he hopes he doesn't break you with his hugs...you'd tell him just how much you loved him and it would be the most perfect of days.

Synopsis: When he tells you he loves you and you don't say it back. {So like forever ago I don't remember how long, there used to be this Tiktok trend where a person wouldn't say I love you back to their partner and film their reaction.} That's the idea behind this but it's not really a modern au. The boys aren't being filmed. You're just messing with them.

Disclaimer: No pronouns used/gender specified. Not a modern au just straight up fluffy stuff with a small amount of angst in Chongyun's part.

Characters: Aether, Chongyun, Tighnari, Venti, Scaramouche.

A/N: I want to write a new 5wirl post so bad but I also doubly realized how much I enjoy writing for Tighnari. So you guys will have to suffer till I get bored of him.

Venti

☆ He says he loves you so often that your reply has become second nature. So much so that you worry you might not be able to trick him like this.

☆ Yeah part of it was because he was the absolute cutest and sweetest boyfriend ever. But the far louder side of your brain nagged on about how you'd end up hurting his feelings.

☆ Though you pushed those worries aside and did it regardless. It was just a test of sorts after all: "I love you." He mumbled sweetly into your ear as the two of you sat side by side, feasting on apples and bread for breakfast.

☆ The words sat on the tip of your tongue, an equally affectionate reply replaying in your brain. "Mhm." You settled on.

☆ His head swiveled towards you so fast you could've sworn it'd disconnect from his body. Though it only took a glimpse of the corner of your eye for a small smile to stretch across his face.

☆ "Not feeling it this morning, Windblume?" His words so close to your ear cause the hairs against your neck to raise and you let a little shudder flow down your spine. "Or maybe you just feel like teasing."

☆ "Ven.." You cut off at the feeling of his lips on your cheek.

☆ "It's ok." He giggles "Though if you ever genuinely don't feel like saying it back, don't worry I understand."

☆ "I love you too, so much."

Tighnari

☆ Listen he rarely ever says these three words. Not because he doesn't feel as strongly for you as you do him or because he's heartless. He just doesn't want to overuse the phrase. He thinks it should mean something every time.

☆ And it's been a while since he last said it so at this moment he just stops, deadpanning in the doorway.

☆ No words to break the awkward tension just a full blown not blinking staring contest.

☆ "What?" You gaze back at him innocently

☆ "Don't play dumb, I believe I said something very romantic and heartfelt a moment ago."

☆ "Did you??" You continue to tease, pulling a confused expression for effect.

☆ And yeah sure you could spend the whole day trying not to let a grin slip as his unamused grimace gets darker. But of course you slip and say it back. Just be prepared for him to be the petty bastard he is and revoke kissing privileges later.

☆ What do you mean he's dodging your kisses? He's just busy right now. Guess you'll have to wait till he stops finding your annoyed huffs funny.

Aether

☆ He says it at least once every time he sees you for two reasons: One the constant fear that the next time he sees you will be the last. And two he's just naturally affectionate in that way.

☆ So yeah: this time when he says it and he's met with pure silence he's more than a little worried. He's not exactly looking at you right now. He's cleaning the last of the dishes in the sink, while you dust the living room only a few feet away.

☆ He ponders over whether or not you heard him or maybe in fact he just hadn't heard you. So he just repeats himself, waiting a bit anxiously for a reply. Though this time he notices the quick flinch of your shoulders and the way your cheeks puff only to relax a second later.

☆ Suddenly your little game is exposed. He dries his hands, walking up behind you quietly enough that you don't hear him coming.

☆ He soon enjoys the wriggle of your hips in his grasp as he pulls you off the table you'd been standing on. Gently he lowers you to the ground his kisses swiftly covering every inch of your face. A soft murmur of "I love you" pressed into every spot on your face until all you could do was breathlessly wheeze his name.

☆ Now you can't help but state the words back outright. Your beaming grin and adoring eyes giving you away before you could even utter it.

☆ But Aether's, Aether so of course neither of you are moving from that spot till he gets the appropriate amount of kisses and love you's back.

Chongyun

☆ Another one who doesn't say he loves you often but he knows what displaying those emotions can do to him plus he's a little shy. It's ok you live with it.

☆ Today had been sort of rare though. He'd been off the whole day, just meditating during the early morning and training until the sun had finally set.

☆ Unlike Xingqiu, you didn't play pranks on Chongyun. Actually you were the one who normally took care of him after Xingqiu's latest prank. But you felt a sort of playful mood arise. Perhaps not seeing your boyfriend today had stirred up some energy in you.

☆ He slipped into his side of the bed like he always did, reaching out to intertwine your hands. "Goodnight Name, I love you." He whispered

☆ "Goodnight, Yun." You shifted closer to him, eyelids drawing shut.

☆ You can feel every shift of the mattress as Chongyun wiggles about, hand holding yours a little tighter and then suddenly everything stills.

☆ You almost pretend to wake up but he takes the choice away, taping your shoulder.

☆ "Name, Did I upset you? You always say you love me back.." His eyes shift between each of yours as he nibbles the popsicle. (You honestly can't imagine where he got it from.)

☆ "Yun.."

☆ "Is it because I didn't spend the day with you? I probably should've have, shouldn't I.. I didn't mean to be a bad boyfriend.. I'm more accustomed to training on days off and-"

☆ And of course you have to kiss his cheek and talk him down because he won't stop worrying.

☆ "I'm so sorry Yun. And I do love you."

☆ The light pink dusting his cheeks makes the pang in your chest lighter as you pull the blankets up to cover you. (Not him cause heat.)

☆ "I am thankful you were just pranking me." He mutters into your collarbone. "But next time if you do can you just do it the way Xingqiu does instead?"

☆ If you love him at all you will never do that shit again.

Scaramouche

☆ He's surprisingly spontaneous with how infrequently he'll tell you he loves you. Someday's he'll say it when he first sees you and then again at night. Other days you won't hear the phrase uttered at all.

☆ To be fair It's always a little shocking to hear how easily those words come to him no matter how long the relationship has gone on for.

☆ He's just sort of laying in your lap when you decide to test him. His head cradled by your thighs. Your hands carding sections of his hair away from his closed eyes.

☆ A little sigh falls off his lips before those affectionate words fall off his lips. You opt for pure silence however. Keeping a blank expression as best as possible as his eyes soon fixate on you from his spread out angle.

☆ "Didn't you hear me?" He asks

☆ "Hmm?"

☆ His hand reaches up to take your wrist, "I said, I love you."

☆ "Ok, heard you loud and clear." You give him a thumbs up.

☆ You only get a split second view but his grimace is instantly noticeable. "You can be so annoying sometimes."

☆ "Scara wait!" You can't hide your giggles as you trot along behind him but he doesn't even bother to stop walking.

☆ Don't worry he's already accepted your apology. He just really hates your little pranks.

He notices the first time you do this. He was about to leave for a work trip when you decided to play this prank on him. "I heard you" you said happily working. He gave you a confused look "Can you say it back please?" he said coming up behind you. He hugged you from behind and rested his chin on your shoulder. He kissed your cheek and looked into your eyes. You rolled your eyes and sighed; He had figured out what you were doing. "I love you too Ayato" you said smiling at him.

You came to visit Albedo at dragonspine and you had stayed a few hours, but you had to go back to the city since it was going to get dark soon. "Be safe y/n, I love you" he said, his nose buried in his work. "Bye Albedo" you said as you kissed him on the cheek and left. He didn't think about it till later that night when he was thinking about you. He realized you hadn't said "I love you" back.

You came back to visit him the next morning and when you got there, he greeted you with a hug and a kiss. "I love you y/n" he said. You smiled and sat down on the couch in his office. He frowned and looked at you. "Are you upset with me?" he said sitting down next to you. You shook your head "Why would I be mad at you?" you said. "You haven't said I love you back" he said giving you a confused look. You felt terrible and you couldn't keep it up anymore and you admitted to pranking him. He sighed and kissed your cheek "You're strange y/n" he said before getting back up and going back to work.

You and Venti were having a relaxing evening at home when you decided to mess with him a little bit. You both were cuddling when he kissed the top of your head "I love you" he whispered as he rested his cheek on the top of your head. You just sighed and nuzzled into the pillow.

Venti closed his eyes and expected to hear a response but after a few seconds of not hearing a response he opened one eye and looked down at you "Y/n I said I love you" he said. "I heard you, Venti" you responded trying not to laugh or break character. "Can you say it back please" He said. You just nuzzled into the pillow trying to keep a straight face.

He sighed and rolled over and started pouting "hmph!" he said crossing his arms. You couldn't hold your laugh anymore and when you started laughing, he rolled back over "What's so funny!?" he said in a frustrated tone. You explained to him that you were just messing with him, and he rolled his eyes "Yeah i knew you were joking!!" he said rolling his eyes as he wrapped his arms around you again.

He's so busy running errands for people all the time it honestly takes him a day or two before he notices. He was thinking about you on his walk home one night and he realized the last few times he had said "I love you" you hadn't said it back. When he got home, he went upstairs where you were working on something.

"Hi y/n, I'm home!" he said running upstairs and sitting down next to you. You turned to him and smiled "Welcome home" you said as you kissed him on the cheek. "I love you y/n" he said as he wrapped his arm around you. You felt bad for not saying it back especially since had just gotten home but you wanted to see how long it would take for him to notice.

You just kept working. He frowned and pulled you closer to him "Did you hear me?" he asked. You nodded "Yes, I heard you" you said as you kept writing. You couldn't look him in the eyes because you knew that you'd feel too bad, and you'd cave. "Do you not love me back?" He asked worriedly. You looked up from your papers and shook your head "Nonono, Gaming I was just messing with you!" you said "Messing with me?" he said giving you a confused look. You explained that you were just joking, and he laughed and kissed your cheek. "Okay, you got me" he said gently.

He figured it out pretty quickly. He had to go on a commission early that morning and before he left, he went to go say goodbye to you. "I'll be back soon, I love you." You nodded and looked at him "Okay, be safe" you said as you smiled at him. He turned around and looked at you "I said I love you y/n" he repeated. He could see you breaking character a little bit and trying not to laugh. He just smiled and kissed the top of your head "I'll be home soon" he said before ruffling your hair and walking out the door.

Mush’s two cents: hello! this was just a cute lil idea for all these flirty genshin romancers that came to me as a shower thought. I originally thought of only the lyney one, but then I was like “erm I just wrote for lyney?? I need more characters!” and thought long and hard (it took me a few seconds) to come up with these. I wanted to make them all have different stories but make them off of the same concept, so I’m sorry if the repetition of the flower quote as you’ve seen before gets old... alas! I hope things appeal to your expectations. enjoy!

venti

You swung your legs back and forth slowly to the melody venti plays beautifully for your ears only on a branch of the Windrise tree.

His eyes were closed as his experienced fingers plucked the strings, you watched him closely, sighing an admiral sigh as you take in his painting-like appearance.

A sudden breeze flows up through the open air, and you watch as the god of anemo’s braids flow along with it— allowing the wind to guide your hair in the same direction as well.

The breeze doesn’t last long, but by the end of it, you eye a flower flying towards your direction, not batting an eye at it as all that mattered right now was your rhythmic lover..

Suddenly, right as the flower flies past both of you in the current, venti sticks an arm out to catch it swiftly, ending his lyre playing abruptly and pulling you out of your trance.

“Oh look! Here’s a flower!” He exclaims when he grabs it out from the gushing winds grasps.

Venti holds the flower up to you, chuckling softly as your expression changes to widened eyes, clearly not expecting that. “For you, my dear.”

The wind had stopped and all that you’re met with is ventis eyes, his hand extending a lovely Dandelion up to you.

Your cheeks warm up as you take the flower from his hands, smiling sweetly before looking back up into your lovers eyes.

“Thank you, venti..” you speak, softly, watching your lovers eyes flutter closed once more as he picks up a different melody on his instrument.

Afterwards: “venti! how’d you grab that flower so quickly?” “ehehe.. who’s to say I wasn’t the one that sent it this way?”

Lyney

Having not had seen your boyfriend, lyney for a while, you both opted to make time for each other at your place, setting up a comfortable space on your sofa for some quality time.

You were both on separate cushions, a card game of Genius Invocation TCG plastered out on the center cushion in the middle of you guys.

As far as it seemed, you were winning the card game so far, having all 3 of your cards still playing as only two of lyneys were left.

He let out a playful gasp when you took down his first card, having him looking up at you with a little pout before he resets his facial expression to his usual smile.

“I admire your handiwork!” *he says with a playful glint in his eyes, before he suddenly looks as if he’d noticed something.

“Hey.. what’s that behind your ear?” he questions, making you take your eyes off the card game and focus on what exactly is behind your ear.

He leans forward, moving his hand behind your ear, reaching for something before pulling his hand back into your view, holding a rainbow rose!

Your eyes beamed as you gasped. “Oh look at that! It’s a flower!” he exclaims, putting on an act as if he wasn’t the one that made it appear. “For you, my dear”

You take the rainbow rose into your hands excitedly, your eyes shining as your admire the rose, blushing softly when your eyes meet his as you remember the meaning behind gifting rainbow roses.

“Thank you lyney!” You thank him, excitedly leaning in close to him and hovering over the cards to place a quick kiss to his cheek. “Let me go put this somewhere safe now..”

With that, lyney nods and watches you walk not too far away, placing your lovely new rainbow rose in a vase and setting it down on your coffee table in front of the sofa.

“There!” As you set down the flower, you admire it proudly, taking your seat a few seconds later.

“hey! what happened to my cards??” “now you see it now you don’t! looks like I win!”

Ayaka

You watched mesmerizingly as Ayaka finishes her Sakura Bloom Dance in Chinju forest, applauding once she finishes and watching her bow with a sweet smile on her face.

“Wow, Ayaka… I’ve seen this dance so many times.. but each time I see it I’m always amazed.” You say, sighing out when you finish speaking, and she lets out a little giggle at your compliment.

“Thank you, I do appreciate your admiring.” She replies sweetly. “There is something different about this dance in particular though..”

When she mentions that something was different about the dance she performed this time, you were lost. You hadn’t noticed anything but to be honest, you also felt like nothing changed about it.

You tilt your head, straightening out a bit as you wonder what she’s referring to, inevitably drawing a blank and asking her what it was.

She chuckled softly, looking off to the side and opening her fan to block her face before walking towards you, hiding something behind her back.

When she reaches you, she pulled out a bouquet of Sakura Blooms, handing them to you with her face hidden behind her fan.

“These flowers are for you.. my dear.”

Once you take the flowers: “ayaka? are you blushing?” “ah.. perhaps— maybe a little bit.”

Lisa

You often find yourself in the Favonius Library, reading countless of books all afternoon alongside your girlfriend, Lisa when she voices her complaints about nobody coming into the library as of late.

It had turned into a regular occurrence, and now the two of you find yourself here for dates as well.

That brings you to where you are now, sharing some tea with your lover whilst reading separate books at one of the library tables.

You had your head down in a book when she closed hers, letting out a yawn before she begins to play with some electricity in her hands.

Noticing her immediately once she closes her book, you pick up your head and look at what she’s doing, noticing that she’s forming something out of electro!

“Oooh what’s that, Lisa?” You ask, leaning forward a bit.

She looks at you once she notices you’ve seen what she was doing, her usual smile appearing on her face as she forms the object she was making quicker and placing it on the book you were reading.

“Hm..? See for yourself.” She says, pointing towards the object on your book before leaning her hands on the table, watching you look down to see… a purple rose!

“Wowww..! It’s so pretty!” You say, reaching your hand out for it before feeling a sudden zap against your fingers- making you pull back with a gasp and look at your hand.

Lisa only chuckled when she watched this, making you blush a bit out of embarrassment.

“Did you feel the spark, cutie~?”

Afterwards: “lisa! thats not funny!” “awh.. well what did you expect cutie~?” “..staaaaaaahhhp…”

After an especially tiring day at work, the thing that Diluc needed most was to lay down next to his beloved. As he walked through the door, you took his coat and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. He embraced you for a moment, breathing in your scent, which always seemed to calm him down. Once Diluc released you, you took his hand in yours and brought him to the bedroom. Hugging you from behind, he laid down next to you on the bed and rested his head on your shoulder. All the stresses from his day melted away, and the only thing he cared about was you. As you drifted off, Diluc gently whispered words of affection into your ear. He made sure you had no doubt that he loved you more than anything else.

Albedo ⋆⭒˚｡⋆

Albedo, as an introverted alchemist, spent most of his time alone. On top of that, being an artificial human, he never knew that he could even experience love. But when you came into his life, everything changed. He hated being away from you, and you were the one person he always wanted around. As you and Albedo lay in bed, he slowly ran his fingers over your neck. The red marks of your earlier activities were scattered all over it, and Albedo couldn’t help but feel slightly proud of himself. Those marks showed that you were his—and his alone. Albedo moved his head down to listen to the slow beat of your heart; something about it always fascinated him. He loved every inch of your body, and he smiled gently as he pulled you closer to him. You played with Albedo’s hair as he drifted off, which was something that always soothed him.

On some days, Venti would stumble home at night completely drunk. Ignoring your scolding, he’d throw himself into your arms and beg you to cuddle him. Despite being annoyed by his bad habit of drinking so much, you found it very hard to stay mad at him. The way his eyes sparkled as he smiled at you with flushed cheeks instantly melted your heart, and you agreed. Leading him to the bedroom, you laid down and pulled him into your arms. You could smell the scent of wine all over him, but you found that you didn’t really care. You quite liked having him in your embrace, even if he smelled like the tavern. Venti nuzzled his face into your neck, squeezing you as tight as he could. Even if you couldn’t see his face, you could tell he was smiling widely.

Dottore .𖥔 ݁ ˖˚☽˚｡⋆

After spending the whole day cooped up in his lab, Dottore was glad to be able to relax. He simply couldn’t sleep without having you in his arms, and he had been eagerly awaiting spending time with you after his awfully boring work day. You were waiting for him in bed, and you smiled as he opened the door. Dottore took you into his embrace and rested his chin on top of your head. In that position, your head was nestled gently against his chest. The slow rhythm of Dottore’s heartbeat lulled you to sleep as he stroked your hair. Something was magical to him about how defenseless you looked as you slept—a silent reminder of how fragile your mortality was. The way you trusted Dottore with your life made his heart flutter a little. Nothing could ever compare to how much he loved being close to you.

Alhaitham .⋆✮ ✧̣̇˳·˖✶

Alhaitham always stayed up too late at night, studying and whatnot. You’d always wait for him to come to bed, but oftentimes you became impatient. This evening, you walked out to the living room, where Alhaitham was sitting. Absorbed in another book, he didn’t even look up as you walked over to him. Without a word, you pushed the hand holding the book out of the way and wrapped your arms around his neck. Looking up, Alhaitham couldn’t even speak before you kissed him. Seated comfortably on his lap, he embraced you gently as you told him how much you missed his company. Moving one arm under your legs and one around your back, Alhaitham picked you up bridal style and carried you to your room. Only you knew the sweetness hidden by his prickly personality.

𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢, for once, is absolutely quiet. he has to stop and stare at you for a moment. his face grows a tad pink and you haven’t even noticed his gaze from across the bar at all. he’s just so smitten all at once. it takes him a moment to stop staring and when you do notice his persisting gaze, he grins softly at you. but he certainly makes it obvious that he finds you absolutely breathtaking.

𝐊𝐚𝐳𝐮𝐡𝐚 doesn’t show much physical emotion upon spotting you. but you can tell in the way he talks to you often and makes light touches. none of which are unwarranted or certainly uncomfortable towards you. he just happens to enjoy when your fingers graze against his or when you laugh at a story he recalls for you. your smile makes butterflies swarm in his stomach. kazuha was a gone man the moment he lay eyes on you.

𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐮 appears almost starstruck. he pauses what he’s doing for just a moment to admire you. you’re stunning and he makes no mistake in letting you know. he flirts with you like no tomorrow and how could you resist him? he’s sweet with his words, trying not to let it show deep down just how loud his heart is thundering underneath this seemingly confident persona he’s put on.

𝐗𝐢𝐚𝐨 doesn’t exactly know what he’s feeling now. his heart is engulfed in this fluttery and light feeling. his face is flushed as he glances back and forth across to you. he’s unsure whether or not to look away from you when you finally notice him. his eyes grow wide when they meet yours and he slowly looks away once more. but after another second or two, he appears to gain the courage to try one more time.

𝐀𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 smiles like there’s no tomorrow. his eyes shine so radiantly when he looks at you for the first time. there’s a smile on his face and he adores the rush of butterflies that rush into his chest. his smile is practically blinding when you notice him out of the corner of your eye. he waves at you, instantly going over to talk. he was struck with puppy love the moment he lay eyes on you.

𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐞 refuses to acknowledge the sudden warmth in his chest when he spots you. his eyes follow your figure in an almost hypnotic trance before he shakes his head to pull himself back together. but he can’t stop himself from glancing your way occasionally. eventually he gives up, resting his chin on his hand and staring at you. how could he not admire you? but as the songs go, he won’t say he’s in love.

the traveller, the honorary knight, the swordfish II captain, the first sage of buer: just a few of the multitude of titles aether has earned from the many battles he's fought for teyvat. he's always fighting for people, protecting people, blindly jumping head-first into danger; he needs someone to protect him for a change, and that someone is you.

he always feels safe with you, and the way you stand behind him when he's chatting with friends or purchasing items from vendors makes him feel untouchable; evident by the way he practically melts under your touch.

one of the first things people tend to notice about you is your height, and although it doesn't really bother you, aether thinks it's ignorant and unfair. don't get him wrong, he loves your height, but there's so much more to you than that. he wishes people would notice your style, or your personality, maybe even your smile, anything. as long as nobody tries to steal you from him, he doesn't mind.

he'll often find himself being the little spoon while cuddling, and honestly, it's the thing he most looks forward to after a long day of completing commissions and collecting resources.

your height sometimes intimidates people, and discourages them from wanting to strike up conversation with you. venti, however, was never bothered by it, and had no problem shamelessly flirting with you the very second you entered angel's share that fateful day.

the bard struggles to understand how people could possibly be afraid of you. of course, he knows how strong you are, and is aware of the lengths you'd go to in order to protect him, but nothing about your personality was something to be scared of.

the more he got to know you, the quicker he came to the realisation that you're really just a big softie - a gentle giant, if you will.

your impressive stature also means that you can carry him around. venti loves nothing more than being in your arms, face nuzzled into your chest as you take him to bed after a long day, or resting his head on your shoulder and forcing you to lift him up when he 'falls asleep''.

all in all, your boyfriend views your height is anything but negative. he loves you the way you are, and, as cliché as it sounds, wouldn't change anything about you for the world...

no matter how tall you are, itto will give you piggyback rides. and you will enjoy them. to put it quite frankly, you don't have a choice.

even though you're taller than him, he still loves to have you in his arms, whether that means cuddling, carrying you around, or simply just hugging you from behind. something about having you in his hold makes him feel stronger and more confident than he ever has before.

the members of the arataki gang were shocked when they first met you, genta mistaking you for itto when he caught sight of your silhouette. nonetheless, they have all grown to be quite fond of you, and often leave small gifts on your doorstep which never fail to bring a smile to your face.

your height was something you sometimes felt ashamed of, however, itto always makes sure you feel happy within yourself, and will do everything in his power to wash the insecurities away; showering you in kisses and telling you just how perfect you are...

at first, alhaitham was slightly embarrassed that you were taller than him, not because of your appearance, but because of how he'd been relentlessly teasing his roommate for his height while having a partner who stands at an impressive 6'5"...

nevertheless, the scribe truly admires everything about you, and will often just stare. even though he wants nothing more than to have you in his arms, he's more than happy to admire you from afar, to watch you go about your day or make idle chit-chat with the local vendors so that he can just take you in; "archons, they're beautiful".

even though he stands shorter than you, he is extremely protective over you; intertwining his fingers with yours whenever he has the chance, and staring down anyone who 'looks at you wrong'. you often tease him for this, poking fun at his pout before kissing it away with a smile, only for it to return as you pinch his rosy cheeks.

the love alhaitham has for you is immeasurable, and the (not so) little things like your height only make him fall harder for you. his heart skips a beat when he feels your arms snake around his waist from behind, being pulled into your chest as you rest your head on his shoulder. yes, you could still do this even if you were shorter, but for him, nothing compares to being able to sink into you; he rather enjoys feeling smaller when he's with you...

you and your husband, diluc, stand at a similar height, him just slightly taller than you at 6'1". people often stare when you walk into a room hand-in-hand, but the darknight hero couldn't be more proud.

he never misses the chance to show you off, introducing you to everyone he knows while making sure to subtly flash the wedding ring he oh so gently slides onto your finger every morning. however, as soon as someone dares to make a rude remark about you, your husband has no problem stepping in front of you and handling the situation himself. yes, you're capable of looking out for yourself, but the redhead always feels the need to protect the ones he loves most.

the two of you are a package deal, and are rarely seen apart from each other unless absolutely necessary. diluc can't stand being away from you, and often finds his mind flooded with thoughts of you when he should be focused on the financial papers spread out on the desk before him.

being the taller ragnvindr, diluc often takes it upon himself to hand you items from higher up shelves, knowing full well you can reach them just fine by yourself. "given my stature, wouldn't it be rude not to hand my partner the things they couldn't possibly reach?", he always asks, pressing a loving kiss on your forehead and handing you whatever you were reaching for. such a tease...

kaeya is subtle. a hand inching toward yours, a soft smile when he offers you his arm, growing wider when you accept. he invites you to the angel’s share just to have an excuse to have you sit next to him, already having a glass of your favorite drink by his side. he’s always willing to give you a drink from his cup if you’d like to try, and often steals sips from yours, if only to take your attention back from whatever bard is playing that night. he drinks less when you’re with him, whether because he’s talking or because he’d rather stay sober to hear you speak. he sticks close to your side at most times, whether shoulder to shoulder or a hand lingering over your side. he knows of what the city thinks of him, but the last thing he’d want is for you to think his feelings are anything but genuine. he sticks to softer ways to show his affection instead, whether by bringing you lunch during your breaks or flowers after work, trying his hardest to find the line between what could be seen as manipulation and what isn’t enough. take him out for a picnic sometime, by the edge of cider lake. lean your head on his shoulder and promise that you understand his affection, just don’t tease him too much if he trips over his words.

venti is cautious. he’s not that familiar with human relations, and is rather lonely after years of solitude. being a god is isolating, and he’d hate to be overwhelming in his attempts. he starts with flowers, little bouquets of dandelions and windwheel asters. he goes out and picks them himself, wandering through fields to find ones he likes best. he could go to flora, but the sight of you smiling over flowers he picked himself is far more appealing than the extra fifteen minutes of sleep. as time goes on and he can confirm that you’re not opposed to the idea of his love, he gets a bit more bold. he teases about asking for a kiss, acting more confident than he is. should you lean down and actually give him one, even if on the cheek, he’ll fluster quite easily. listen when he promises that he loves you, as it took him a long time to work up the courage to say it.

zhongli is clear. he’s always quick to dispel any doubt in your mind about your relationship, his arms warm as he holds you close. from the moment he approached you at the shops, he’s never made a promise he couldn’t keep. lying is something he’s learned not to let into his life so easily, well aware of how quickly a handful of words are able to shatter relationships. he does keep his true identity private for a long while, needing to be sure you can keep a secret as easily as he can, but minds his words until then. he never speaks without fully intending what he says, his sentences prefaced by a pause as he thinks. every morning he makes his tea, wishing you a good day. every night he greets you with a kiss, ready to listen if you have anything to speak about. his advice is as genuine as the rest of him, but he also understands the effectiveness of a good hug sometimes. lay with him on the couch, let him tell you a story, have some tea if you’re so inclined. don’t worry, he’ll carry you to bed if you fall asleep.

ayato is protective. he can’t lose you, not now and not ever, so is willing to do anything to keep you safe. his behavior almost comes to a fault, as he tends to put himself lowest on his list of priorities. he’s likely been pining for years prior to the start of your relationship and only confessed by way of an accident with ayaka, which you were happy to hear. in his defense, he didn’t want to ruin the friendship the two of you had, even if his feelings burned in his chest whenever he saw you. even now, he’s tentative about trying anything new, sticking with what he knows you’ll like. you’ll likely be the one to say you love him first, and don’t be surprised if he doesn’t return it right away. he wants to ensure he can—for lack of better phrasing—support your relationship, as if you haven’t been working by his side for years. he probably talks to you in private about the dangers that come with being with him, promising that he wouldn’t be hurt if you were hesitant. take his hand in yours and stay by his side, and he’ll reward you with the world.

Of course he knew you weren't, in fact you seemed to like it...even sighing in relief afterwards, but he just couldn't handle the noises, "Heh....my dear, I know you aren't doing anything dangerous but can you wait to crack the rest of your bones? I'm just worried for my heart..."

𑁍༄Xiao:

You stretched upwards, a satisfying crackling sound coming from your back as it popped and your body loosened up, but you didn't get get to enjoy it long. Xiaos arms suddenly wrapped around you, eyes filled with horror and his voice panicked, "Are you alright?! Did you break your back?! I'll take you to Baizhu!"

"N-no Xiao-"

He lifted you up bridal style rushing out the door as you tried to explain, blush creeping onto your cheeks out of embarrassment, "Xiao I was just cracking my back!"

"Just try not to move, Baizhu will know how to help. Humans are such fragile creatures..."

sometimes the wind can be cold, and those are the times that venti uses to his advantage as an excuse to coddle - or to be coddled by - you.

and in his defense, it's not much. since it's not everyday and night that he has your undivided attention after all. so he wants to make the most of this evening with you, even if it means refusing to let you get out of bed.

"windblume don't leave the bed ~" he pleaded, hand tugging on your clothes to hold you back, though it wasn't really effective. you stood up from the bed despite your boyfriend's protests, slightly dragging him with you by the arm that still refused to let go.

"i'll be right back, promise ! i'm just gonna go make us hot chocolate." you took the hand that tugged on your shirt in yours, chuckling at the childish huffs your boyfriend let out. he begrudgingly got up, rubbing his eyes and choosing to follow you instead. "i'll just . . go with you." "i said i'll be right back ?" "it'll be cold without you either way !"

"alright, alright, if you say so."

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ｡ﾟ ⊹ㅤalatus xiao !

he believes he's adapted to the cold, both figuratively and literally. but even a yaksha can't deny the comforting warmth that shields against the harsh breeze.

here he is, sitting by his now favored spot on the balcony of the inn, across from you. the makeshift coffee table you had borrowed from downstairs sat between the two of you, with the tea set you had oh so excitedly showed him the other day set out.

as you poured the newly boiled water into the cups, xiao sighed as the steam warmed him up. "i think it's strange how instead of making tea with this set, you're brewing up milk instead." he commented, bringing the cup closer to his face to further warm himself up with the steam. "well we don't have tea now do we ?" "couldn't you have asked smiley yanxiao ?" "i did, he didn't have any." "i see,"

the wind on the balcony brought a sudden breeze, and xiao reached over to tuck some stray strands away from your face for you.

"do you like the cold, xiao ?" "i like it better with you."

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ｡ﾟ ⊹ㅤkaedehara kazuha !ㅤ

the winds were feeling generous today, he hummed to himself as he chose to redo his low ponytail, brushing back most of his bangs as he tied it back up, slowly growing inconvenience by how the wind blew his hair into his line of sight.

kazuha took a deep breathe as he admired the moon, illuminating the water in a way you'd see in a painting.

"kazu, come down would you ?" he whipped his head around to see you below, taking note of the two cups in your hands. he smiled softly as he used the ropes to glide down to the deck. "sorry darling, did you get cold without me ?" he asked, taking the cup you offered him and breathing in the scent of the cocoa. "i did actually, but i figured to make some hot chocolate before coming out for you." he chuckled, pulling you in as you two now sat on a nearby bench, his hand resting on your waist as he blew softly on his cup.

"the moon is beautiful, isn't it ?" he leaned his head on your shoulder, while yours leaned on his. "it is, but that's no excuse for you to be staying up so late." you flicked his forehead lightly, laughing along with him.

"i know, i know. besides," he looked up at you, "i have my own moon already."

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ｡ﾟ ⊹ㅤshikanoin heizou !ㅤ

soft lips trailed kisses all over your collarbone as heizou laid on your chest, the pitter patter of the rain on the windows fading into somewhat of a melody.

he sighed whenever your fingertips would massage his scalp lightly before brushing through his burgundy locks. "mhmm, if only we could be like this more often." he huffed, nuzzling his face further into your chest as his arms comfortably wrapped around you.

you chuckled, "yeah, but a great detective is always needed, otherwise, cases aren't going to solve themselves are they ?" this earned a scoff from the detective. "but you need a great boyfriend too, am i right ?" he smiled up at you, now leaning up on his elbows.

you shook your head with an ear to ear smile on your face, reaching over for the cup of hot chocolate left on the table, with heizou mimicking you and reaching for his own.

"but seriously, i do wish we could do this more often too." you whispered, leaning back on his shoulder as heizou nodded. "and i promise you, we'll do this as much as we want soon enough." he smiled, both for you and himself.

he's never felt the cold before, nor has he ever felt the warmth. he can't, really.

but he can at least imagine what it feels like. and this, the way your face nuzzled into the crook of his neck with your arms around his shoulders, breathes tickling his skin. this is what he imagines warmth to feel like.

he felt everytime you blew the cup of warm milk in your hands before taking a sip, while he instead would drink straight up while it was steaming. as a matter of fact, this is what he hopes warmth feels like.

"kuni, you seem lost in thought again." you shifted back, looking at him with a concerned hint in your eyes. he shook his head, mustering the most genuine smile he can. "i am, but don't worry, they're not bad thoughts." you nodded, "if you say so."

his gaze shifts around the room, then back to you. "can i . . can i ask you something ?" he hesitated, but relaxed when you hummed so patiently. "this, like this," he set his cup down on the table next to the two of you and pulled you closer by the waist, "is this what warmth should feel like ?" he looks up at you, looking for every hint he may find, the way your face heated up, is that warmth too ?

"well, warmth can be felt in many ways," you tried to explain, with kuni nodding on, listening. "but this is one of my favorite ways to feel it." he blinked, "so, yes ?" "yeah, yes." . . .

"then, this is my favorite warmth too."

Synopsis: How the 5wirl boys + Tighnari react when you move their hair aside to kiss their cheek. Otherwise known as you shamelessly flirting with them.

Disclaimer: This is some adorable fluff to unscrew up my tired porn ridden brain. No gender/pronouns used. Enjoy!

Venti

It'd been a while since Venti had last invited you out to lunch. Whether the reason had been work related or just a need for space you weren't sure. Though today you felt a surge of confidence. A sort of push like every cell in your body was telling you to finally admit your feelings. As though you'd never get the chance again if you didn't. So you bit the bullet.

"Oh hey, you've got something on your cheek." You stop him in his tracks brushing his braid aside and trying not to physically combust at his cute little hm?

He leans in a little closer, just enough for you to press a quick peck against his cheek. His eyes enlarge for just a quick second and you're almost ready to spurt out some apologetic words when he mutters,

"What's on your lips?" His kiss is soft yet fleeting. Cold from his drink and yet sends heat roaring through your body.

His grin is shitty when he pulls back, a chorus of raucous laughter soon falling off his lips. "You should see your face, it's so cute!" He soon devolves into breathy giggles stopping when he realizes you haven't said a word. Or blinked or.. wait were you even breathing?? "Wait! Name, breathe!"

Your head rests against his knee while he summons calming breezes to your side. "Geez, you kissed me first and yet you could barely handle reciprocation." He tsks teasingly.

"I didn't know you would kiss me back!" You pout

"Ugh the point is we're even now." He retorts with a playful roll of his eyes.

"I guess.."

"So, wanna kiss again?"

Your heartbeat slams against your rib cage. One hand sliding up to your chest entangling your shirt in your fist. "I-I need a minute.."

Heizou

You'd been waiting for what had to have been a full month for Heizou to come back from vacati- his private investigation. And the second you'd heard the rumors that he'd been found and was returning. You knew you had to snag him up before you didn't see him again for another couple months.

"Look at this beautiful view." He cycled on as you rested your face in your palms. "I took this picture the moment I set foot on the island. It truly is a sight to behold. This picture doesn't quite do it justice either because during the night time when the water is bathed with glowing moonlight.. ugh it's quite majestic."

"Hei, you've got a little something on your cheek." You tap your own face with the palm of your index finger.

"Oh." He slides a hand across his face, eyebrows creasing as he looks at his fingers.

"No, right-"

You shift your face to the side, brushing long red strands aside quickly taken aback when your lips are snagged. Pressed against his so suddenly that you nearly snap your head back. But he doesn't allow it, keeping you close with a hand on your cheek. His kiss so firm yet gentle. Before you can even get used to his taste however he's leaving you high and dry.

"There?" He finishes

"Wha-" You ask or well try to as he continues to hold your face. His breath fanning the bridge of your nose as he chuckles.

"I believe your next question is, how long have you known?" He remarks "The definitive answer would be: I've always known. I notice your little lip bites when I make corny jokes. I've noticed the way you absolutely must rub your knee against mine whenever we're sitting close, just as we are now. And I've seen the way your eyes flicker to my lips when you think I'm not watching. I assumed you'd just come out and tell me you like me. I mean I have been waiting for so long, my heart was starting to break." His chuckle is far deeper this time. Far more teasing than the first.

"You're such an annoying little tease." You hiss, shakily entangling his shirt in your grip.

"Come now, you must find some enjoyment from it." He pecks your lips. "Otherwise you wouldn't be clinging to me like this."

Aether

The two of you had finally made plans for the first time since he'd left Inazuma. While you'd always felt like the two of you had a not dating but acts as though you are, kind of relationship today you wanted to take it a step further. Before you'd met up he'd shooed Paimon off to the teapot and prepared a basket of food fit for a banquet. He wanted you to try all his new favorites after all.

"Ae, I think you've got something on your cheek."

He blinks in between bites before leaning closer to your hand. Your thumb slides beneath strands of silky blonde hair brushing them aside before pecking his cheek with a quick kiss. His eyes dart towards yours and without warning he pulls a tissue from the basket bringing it up to his cheek with a quick swipe.

"The wind wiped away your kiss, you have to do it again."

"Why can't you just ask for another kiss like a normal person."

"Lips this time please." He retorts puckering up.

Xiao

Not seeing Xiao for a couple weeks was pretty normal usually but you found yourself missing him these past few days. Which soon lead you to the Wangshu Inn kitchen to prepare a bowl of almond tofu for his return. Once you'd finished and tidied up the space you'd used, you headed back to the balcony. The view swept you away for a moment, quickly entranced by the way the landscape could stretch for miles. Almost so taken in that Xiao's entrance nearly caused you to tip over the bowl in your hands.

"You're here." He greeted simply taking the bowl from your grasp.

"Mhm, How was your patrol?"

He simply huffed heading downstairs to grab a spoon. No surprise there, Xiao never had been ready to conversate after a long patrol.

"Oh hey Xiao, what's that on your cheek?"

You could feel the roll of his eyes despite his back being to you. "I've told you not to dote on me." He stops at the bottom of the staircase, halfway facing you.

"Well you should want to get cleaned up right?" You reply curling a handful of strands around his ear.

"I can do that on my own. Just leave I-" A sound you'd never believed Xiao could make escaped the adeptus in front of you. His face soon hung, the bowl of tofu hanging between shaky fingers. You giggle as you watch his cheeks flush with red, briskly rushing to the tips of his ears.

"Xiao.." You mummer close to his ear unsurprised by the faintest shiver being his only reply. "Thank you for all you do for Liyue." You whisper, without another word you head back upstairs to allow Xiao the space and comfort to eat in peace.

Kazuha

When Kazuha came back to Inazuma he always made sure to spend at least a week at your place. A time in which you'd found that Kazuha took up very little space, he'd always kept his area neat and if he was gone the whole day he'd make sure he'd bring you back some goodies.

This time had been no exception: It was only twelve am when he'd arrived home but he quickly insisted that he whip up a, "thank you for letting him stay" dish. You sat a ways away allowing yourself to become swept up by the intoxicating aroma wafting into the living room.

"It should be ready soon, Name."

Suddenly an idea floated into your head. You stood from your seat softly inching up behind Kazuha. Though it soon proved to be worthless as Kazuha's eyes quickly drifted behind him. A small smile brightening his features.

"Oh, have you come to sneak a taste?"

"Actually, you've got a little-" You smooth his hair back and before you can hesitate further you give his cheek a quick peck leaning back to anxiously take in his expression.

"Hm so that's why you've been so distracted tonight?" He places the spoon in the pan before removing it from the fire. He slowly turns back to you deep crimson eyes filled with adoration. "Is it ok if I kiss you too?" He asks

"Sure.." You're not sure how loud you said it but you soon find Kazuha's lips pressed to yours. The only description you could come up with to describe the way his lips felt against yours being airy, light almost feather-like. As though he had some internal fear he could break you with a single touch.

Before long he's leaning away and you can't help your childish huff. "Don't worry, we can continue once you have dinner." He smiles softly.

"I eat all the time. Kiss me."

Tighnari

Today was kind of special. Tighnari wasn't busy with the usual training of forest rangers and he'd finished his patrol early which meant the two of you had time to take a leisurely stroll. Which for Tighnari meant he could point out random flora and facts about them as you walked. While for you it just meant you could bask in his every word while barely keeping pace because he walks surprisingly fast.

"Are you still listening? I was on a roll there and you missed it."

You trot along till you catch up to his side. "Sorry Nari, hasn't anyone ever told you, you walk super fast?"

"No, I don't believe I've heard that until now actually." He retorts with a small lift of his chin.

"Well anyway for your information I actually was listening. You were explaining the temperatures at which Sumeru roses grow the best in." You reply

"Exactly, excellent!" He perks up, smile broadening "I don't think I'll ever understand why you didn't come with me after we graduated. I don't really need to explain this stuff to you the way I would a rookie forest ranger. Plus you're so skilled with medicinal remedies you'd be such a big help to me and Colliel."

"The akademiya begs for you to come back and you try to talk me into becoming a forest ranger someday. Somethings never change."

His chuckle is dry and you soon realize just how close you're standing. Your elbow resting on his shoulder. The tips of his ear twitching as your breath flutters against them.

"Hey Nari, what's on your cheek?" A small hum leaves his throat as he checks his left cheek with two fingers.

"Huh, did I get it?"

"No I mean this cheek." You whisper, his hair is silkier than you'd thought it would be and when you press a kiss to his cheek you make a mental note of his deep shudder. "There it's off now." You giggle immediately pleased at how quickly his entire face blooms pink.

"Wh-what was that for?"

"Consider it my thank you for a lovely afternoon."
