notes: when i read this before continuing this wip after so so long, i realised that it was inspired by a spidey/venom comic i read in march/april so... idk which one it was but hopefully you don’t need much context. also, i love (v)eddie, but for the purpose of this blurb.... i do not. (i do.)

peter’s hot-headed, irate and enervated whilst a throbbing headache troubles him.

there are a number of conspicuous changes in his behaviour that you notice instantly when he’s like this; along with his clenched jaw, his fist closed into a tight ball has his upper arm bulging out of his t-shirt, and one specific vein more prominent than ever, you would go out your way to consider that this attitude in some way is lewd. but not when he has the super-strength to punch through the wall with his bare hands and you both have to suffer the consequences of it.

it’s more than evident when you see the steam emitting from his ears, as his figure storms through the front door. peter’s composure only seems to settle the slightest bit when he turns around to lock it. his arm then rests on the doorframe, followed by his head.

he comes through to the living room of your usually humbling home that you two share, rips his bag off his shoulder and throws it off to the far end of the room, whereupon you hear a tear from behind him as he does so. a series of cracks sound after his bag hits the wall. it makes you cringe badly.

by the looks of it, not only has he tore the wallpaper, but he’s cracked the wall behind.

peter, realising what he’s just done, begins to blurt out to apologise, “i-”

“—no. just... water first,” you cut him off, leaving to the kitchen to fetch a glass.

rubbing the back of his neck as he pads to the kitchen, he sees you fill it with the water filter once he’s there. your eyes dart towards him in the doorway, moving to go get some ice from the freezer.

you’re surprised he’s simmered down so quickly, but you know him best — he isn’t one to be enraged for too long. now that he’s caused damage to the wall in the living room, he definitely shouldn’t be anyway.

when you give him it, he’s relocated to the counter behind you, accepting the glass when you offer him it.

peter mumbles a thank you before drinking, then waits for a moment or two for you to meet his gaze. after downing it whole, a hand finds yours, causing you to look up. he maintains eye contact whilst he starts with, “i’m sorry, baby. i really am.”

your eyebrows raise to indicate that he explains further. his shoulders slump.

“he’s pissing me off,” he admits, voice tremulous, “so so much, y/n.”

“who?” you squeeze his hand.

“you know...” he replies, before you squint an eye, tilting your head ever so slightly to indicate that you, in fact, don’t know. “eddie...” peter comes out with before he sighs, “it’s eddie.”

your mouth turns in an ‘o’ as he hands you back the glass. he’s mentioned a friend that he’s known for a long time, but the problem is that he’s become somewhat of an adversary as of recently. a walking havoc, new york thinks, and a hulking and distorted version of your boyfriend’s alter-ego.

“he does everything he can to show me that i’m some kinda wimp to not have done anything about kasady,” he observes in annoyance, “in every. possible. way.”

“he’s gonna let it go some day, pete,” you try to convince him, to no avail since he begins to roll his eyes and replies with, “it’s been 3 months. he’s even got a job at the bugle.”

he contemplates loudly, “he killed him though, so what’s left?” he laughs before shaking his head, “stupid bastard.”

“weren’t you once friends with said bastard?” you tease.

“and i fought tooth and nail to get him away from me when he sabotaged everything we had: our trust.”

and with that, peter’s reminded of the relentless ordeal he's having to endure with eddie. it must be the nonsensical alien in his mind.

“no way am i letting you talk to him.”

too late. you met at a party weeks ago.

“wasn’t fucking gonna anyway,” you huff, having no intention to in the first place, “he’s like a smidge hot but he’s not...” you move your hands in an attempt to try to explain what you’re about to say, mouth fumbling for the right words, continuing instead with: “you know, a hero, if you will.”

“yeah,” he smirks mockingly, tongue clicking against his cheek, “hero, my ass.”

he thinks about the thing that’s nagging him, one that eddie confessed to him just half an hour ago. he trusts you, with everything and anything, but the image of eddie sweeping up your feet torments him.

you’re noticing his demeanour again, shifting to what seems to be more angry, “that bad, huh? i—”

“—he likes you!”

startled, your eyes meet his — seeing him look down and away; poor peter thinks that you knowing that will ever change your feelings for him, that eddie has a chance with you. it’s all a ruse. why would you ever think of doing so, when you have the paragon of a boyfriend right in front of you, in your heart and forevermore?

then your hands proceed to his shoulders to gain his attention, letting them rest there before you rub them.

“peter, i know.”

“look, i don’t li- wait... what? how?” his eyebrows relax, eyes softening. it was stupid thinking you hadn’t bumped into him yet.

there’s a few moments of silence as he gazes at you, unnecessary insecurities gnawing at him briefly before he lets it go to ask in a whisper: “why didn’t you tell me?”

“because he means shit to me, sweetheart,” you urge, “i don't have an ounce of love for him, i don’t see him that way.”

the jealousy vanishes into thin air as you say that, leaving him feeling feeble-minded that he ever even thought about eddie with you. you continue to reassure him, “better yet, i’ve never really thought about it. you shouldn’t either.”

“fine,” he nods, sighing, “i’m so-”

“stop apologising, pete, just... forget about it, it’s okay.” you bring his head towards your chest, and he nestles in the midst of it.

all until he grabs the underside of your thighs, spinning you a hundred and eighty degrees so your bum sits comfortably on the counter.

he beseeches you, “i’ve had a terrible day, though, so just please... please kiss me.” he pouts. “tell me i’m yours, baby.”

your palm rests against his cheek, grinning, “you’re mine, pete. always have been, always will be.”

when your lips meet his, he smiles into it instantly, the ache in his heart recovering. his arms embrace you whole as he leans into you, desperate, and you taste nothing but the burning kick inviting on his tongue. it tells you only one thing, which only you’re able to discern as such.

you pull away, wiping the moisture that’s evident next to his mouth. “upstairs?”

he nods fervently.

This wasn't asked for because nobody in their right mind would ask for this but this is a fic rec list of fics I cannot stop rereading

Just started yet another reread of Inimitable Verse by deniigiq and I fully plan on rereading their into the multiverse series which occasionally crosses over also - this is a Spider-Man/team red focused series, think comics canon infused early mcu-spidey since only homecoming had come out for a non substantial amount of time they were working on the series and the daredevil stuff is explicitly tv show AND comics. Also the multiverse series is how I got into Murderdock and therefore how I got into Spider Gwen

Unpretty's Sorrowful And Immaculate Hearts series which is just a loosely interconnected series of DC fics. My personal favorites are Empty Graves, in which Martha Kent keeps killing time travelers trying to kill baby! Clark; any of their clois fics but especially Third Wheel; and Anti-Social, which is a social media fic mostly about Tim and Bruce that made me cry laughing. Catch Bruce trying to get Walmart's employees to unionize. Also shout out to unpretty's only fic with Jason in it, it looks awesome but is tragically incomplete

This particular Reverse Robin AU which put in the work to reverse every single younger generation and is chef's kiss I LOVE this version of Tim he's wild

Both of Shoalsea's fics are in constant rotation for me I talk about Into The Brighter Night all the time in the tags of reblogs and stuff it truly lives in my head rent free. Anyway Tim gets kidnapped by aliens and the batfam have to watch as yj98 saves him and it's angsty and funny and such a good take on what could have been if the new 52 hadn't happened. And Compassion Builds No House is about Tim and Pru from Red Robin. Ugh they're both so good

Speaking of Clois (I did you've just forgotten this by now) brilliant (like a confession) by kathkin (penny-anna on the hellsite) is so fucking good I'm. Okay. Anyway it'll be listed as inspiration if/when I finally post my two person love triangle fic for them

I'm too anxious to catch up on this before it's done but jumble sale chic is hands down the best spideydevil fic series despite and because of the omegaverse

Make A Little Birdhouse In Your Soul is my favorite take on Jason, period, and has a lot of fantastic Damian stuff going on too. It's updating every few weeks still! Sometimes more often! I love you bacondoughnut it's me JustGail the person who will not stop commenting on your fic you're stuck with me forever

I lied above Rumspringa Murderdock is what got me into Murderdock but that series is second place. I found this one while scrolling through the tv show's mattfoggy tag, thinking I was safe

Speaking of Murderdock mattfoggy, The Lawyer All the Wickedness was written early on in spider-gwen's history and so diverges from canon really early in ways that I think are super interesting and creative

Oh also straight on 'til morning by merils (Tumblr url mamawasatesttube) does SUCH a great job unpacking Kon's trauma and building up healthy relationships around him including a budding timkon romance and yeah it makes me sad and happy at the same time

We're getting into poisonivory territory so just trust if you like the pairing and poisonivory is writing it you'll like it. Ok rapidfire

Like A Handprint On My Heart mattfoggy soulmate au with a twist

Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow? Damijon future fic/au. Jon came back from the future when both of them were 19. Demisexual!Damian at its best. Damian's terrified of being abandoned by Jon again and it made my heart hurt

I feel like I've already recommended every JayRoy fic by poisonivory and genuinely I do reread them all, sometimes in order of publication if I'm in a particular mood. Maybe the one I've read most though is I've Got the Feeling You're the Right Thing After All which is about Roy and Jason starting a fwb thing while Roy still harbors old feelings for Dick. Can't see anything going wrong here lmao

Mmm this post is long enough so I'll leave it at just superhero fic for now but I do in fact have the ability to do a whole post just for the Witcher or Leverage so I might do that. Anyway thanks for following me on yet another burst of insanity it will happen again

Spidey Gang X Hyper, chaotic reader who always needs saving

Gwen, Miles, Pavitr and Hobie x Harley Quinn/Gwenpool(inspired) GN!reader Platonic and general HCs for the whole group(together)

BIG warning: unfortunately, I have never read any Gwenpool or Harley Quinn comics! Most of the things I know about them are just from pinterest, so I'm sorry if this is totally inaccurate, the reader was mostly based on my own preferences either way, I just did this inspired by them because I saved some cute icons and fragments of comics on my board and they inspired me.

Other warnings: cussing? idk if I gotta put a warning for this, but yeah, very brief mention of wounds

A/N: I made this first one with all the characters together, but I'm making one with specific sections for each character, still platonic

This is how I'm healing my inner child, sorry if it seems too childish

How they met you

When you were first introduced to the Spider Society by Jess and Miguel, let's just say it was hard to not notice you

You were so excited, asking them a hundread questions and talking so fast and loud, you caught many eyes just by stepping out of the elevator while rambling to them about how you had been dealing with this whole "Spider-Person" thing

You were so focused on your super interesting story(at least for you, it was!) that you didn't even notice how the four Spideys were staring at you - so curious and intrigued by this new recruit

The three boys somehow convinced Gwen to ask Jess later about who was the new Spidey that caught their eyes

For a while, they just keep an eye out at the HQ, trying to get a glimpse of you and find out more about this new recruit

Soon enough, you all get properly introduced for a mission together

Your excitement was totally contagious, and you were so friendly and fun that it was only a matter of time until you became friends

After that mission, they just decide to adopt you basically. You're part of the group now, no escape(and you were so happy about it)

How they are with you(general group HCs)

Whenever you see them at HQ, your first instinct to greet them is to run towards them and jump into their arms or on their back, and they always catch you(specially because of their Spider-Senses), usually spinning you around before letting go of you

You are a menace to Miguel - he totally hates you, specially when Hobie teams up with you to annoy the shit outta him. But you get the job done, one way or another, so he doesn't really have a reason to kick you out of the Society

And unfortunately for him, the five of you work really well in missions, so most of the time, you all get paired together

They're always giving you piggyback rides, not only because you think it's fun, but because that's how they make sure they know where you are and they keep you from running into more problems

You also get thrown over their shoulders more times than you can count - they always gotta drag you away from trouble because you do not know when to stop messing around

They got used to you always running into trouble, so now their protectiveness is almost intuitive

Like catching you right before you trip, without batting an eye

They're not even that surprised anymore when their Spider Sense alerts them that you're in danger during missions(or other occasions), they just rescue you right in time

You tend to get easily(but briefly) distracted during missions. There's always something colorful and sparkly catching your eye, or maybe something cute like a stray cat!

So you just have to stop for a second to pet it and take a picture with it, leading it away from danger until the others are yelling at you to focus on the mission

Or once, when the five of you were in a fight in your universe, and you ended up seeing a cute little kid with a costume just like your Spider-Suit. It was the first time you saw that. You couldn't resist it, you had to go talk to the kiddo(who could blame you, though? so cute!!)

It was adorable, but you quickly lead them away from the fight because everyone was yelling at you to focus on fighting the villain

Internally, they were melting over your cute interaction, but that should be gushed over later, when no one was trying to kill all of you

They had to make deals with you at some point, because Miguel was almost done with your shenanigans: if you didn't get distracted during important missions, they'd take you to your favorite burguer joint after, or let you plan a sleepover for the five of you, or play some game you'd been begging them to play with you... anything they could bribe you with, really

You couldn't refuse, the deals were always too good not to take. They'd accept any hang out ideas you had just because you focused on kicking the villain's ass and saving people?? Oh, you'll have so much fun planning these hang outs

Also, how do you manage to always eat or drink something during missions? No idea. But you do keep everyone fed by sharing your snacks, even when you're fighting some villain in another universe

That's only for snack though, they're actually the ones to make sure you have eaten enough meals, and not only candy and chips

You never mess up that badly during missions though, if there's something you're good at(besides being a menace and causing trouble) is kicking villain ass

You're always giggling and having fun while you're fighting them, and your Spidey friends always appreciated your excitement and playful energy

You insist on taking group selfies when the mission is over, usually with the villain tied up in a web-cocoon in the background, and they just go with it lol

They'd take turns on who would patch you up after you almost got your ass beaten during more demanding missions(not that they mind it, though, because they do love you)

You keep a collection of cute band-aids and first aid items, like Hello Kitty(my personal favorites) or other cartoon themed band-aids, and they always use those for you because they know you love them(and they find it adorable, too)

And you always make them laugh when you ramble about the mission or something cute that caugh your eye while they're taking care of your scratches and wounds

You thank them with friendly kisses on the cheek and tight hugs, which they love

Your 'thank you's were also taking care of their scratches when they got hurt as well, making sure to clean them properly(because you might be reckless but you don't want any of your friends to get sick or hurt even more) and treat their bruises gently

They really appreciate how calm and focused you are in those moments, showing just how much you care for them(even though they already knew)

During Miguel's meetings and 'lecture sessions', they had to be even more careful with you lmao

You were on thin ice with him, and being bored was not something you delt well with...

So they always have to find ways to distract you, or you and Miguel will start an argument and this will last hours

Sometimes, you do that job yourself. Distracting yourself by climbing on the walls, or sitting on the ceiling, spinning around in a rolling chair... you couldn't stay still for very long

Whether in a meeting or just hanging out, though, they're always amused by the way you're always climbing and sitting in unusual places

Or swinging upside down with your webs

Once you got stuck in your own spider web, they all laughed for a while before helping you get out of it lol

(Miles kept taking pictures of you just to tease you later)(he loves you tho)

You're always saying weird, conspiratory stuff they never understand, but it always gets a laugh out of them

Like those 3am "What if..." theories, or silly questions like "can worms have feelings?"

Or even weirder things when it comes to spiritual/universe/philosophical themes, "are you real? can you prove it to me? how can you be sure? how can I be sure?"

If they have time(like, not during a mission), they'll take some time to think about your questions and continue the topic lol

It's even funnier when Miguel is around, because he's trying to get you to listen to him but the five of you are just discussing whether or not someone can prove if they're real to someone else

It's just like that scene where he's like "no puedo más, no puedo más", hilarious

On Befriending Spiders

2012 Leonardo x Spidey powered!reader

As per the request of @donatelloexceptimdumb, we have Leo x reader with Spiderman powers. I'll also have a Raph version eventually, but I finished this one first, so y'know.

Summary: You form an allyship- and possible friendship- with a fellow vigilante.

Info: Reader is gender neutral as always, and so I gave them the superhero name of '(F/C)-Spider' for 'favorite color'. IDK, something like Scarlet-Spider or Violet-Spider? Also this is intended to take place in the Spiderverse Spiderman iteration, as that one is my favorite, but eh, you can probably picture any version pretty easily.

(I guess you also don't need to know much about Spiderman: Point is you're a superhero with spider-themed powers. You'll figure it out)

“Hey, Blue!” You grinned, sliding your mask on. “Just the guy I was lookin’ for!”

“Oh sewer apples, it’s you again.” Leo groaned, glaring up at you from the alleyway.

“What, sad you can’t have a peaceful patrol? You wound me, Blue. I know I beat you up and called you The Lizard, but that was a simple case of mistaken identity- we can move past that, no?” You said, leaning over the edge of the roof precariously.

“Careful,” Leo caught himself saying, despite his determination to dislike you.

“Aw, I knew you cared. Luckily, I-” You leaned forwards further, but then you were hurtling off the edge and freefalling towards the ground-

“(Y/N)!” Leo shrieked, diving forwards to catch you-

“Hm?” You said calmly, hanging off the fire escape by your web.

Your nose bumped into his snout as you swung gently back and forth, and he facepalmed.

Right, you were a spider-themed vigilante with high-tech resources and possibly superpowers. In his momentary panic, he’d forgotten.

He rolled his eyes and walked away, crossing his arms in irritation. He heard the silent thud of you hopping off the fire escape and following him down the alleyway.

“I can hear you following me,” He said, not turning around.

“I know.” You hummed. “You’d be a pretty shitty ninja if ya didn’t.”

“Language.” He replied automatically, used to correcting Raph and Casey.

“Hm. A crummy ninja then, Mom.” You said, and Leo scowled.

“Why exactly are you following me?” Leo said, turning to glare at you. “What do you want?”

You staggered back dramatically, and while Leo couldn’t see your expression through your mask, he guessed it was wide eyed and offended. “Gasp. Do I have to want something? Can’t I just enjoy a gander through this lovely series of alleyways with my favorite ex-rival- uh- I mean my favorite ninja?”

Leo gave you a bored stare.

You sighed. “Okay, okay, you got me. I wanted to warn you and your bros about some rogue robots I spotted on 23rd- There’s this asshole- uh I mean jerk, language, sorry- there’s this jerk named Kendra from my fourth period who’s trying to use them for robberies.” You shrugged, tossing a spider-shaped ninja star reminiscent of Wingnut’s batarangs up and down as you spoke. Leo wondered if you’d taken inspiration from the bat themed comic book hero.

“That’s not a big deal on its own, obviously,” You continued, “...but I tried to stop one and lemme say! These guys are strong! Like the droid in that one Space Heroes episode, but times three. So…I just figured I should let ya know.” (You liked Space Heroes? …Cool!)

Leo raised a non-existent eyebrow, and you immediately dropped the casual demeanor.

“Leo, look, I’m serious.” You said, your voice suddenly urgent as you misread his gesture of intrigue as dismissal. “I know I’m not as uptight as you or whatever, but I wouldn’t joke about this.”

“No, no- I know, I believe you!” Leo said, raising his hands as if trying to soothe you, but he thought better of it and lowered them again a little awkwardly.

“You do?” you said, dropping your spider-ninja-star in surprise.

“Yeah, I do. I’ll keep an eye out, thanks for the tip.” He said with a slight smile.

“Oh thank goodness. I’ll handle them once I get some backup, but I didn’t want you guys to get hurt in the meantime.” You paused, and your mask’s white eyes narrowed playfully, giving Leo the impression of a smirk. “You know, since hurting you is my job, apparently, ‘Lizard’.”

Leo smiled. “Obviously. And watch it ‘Webhead’, I’m a turtle.”

You nodded, playing with your web-shooters. “Sorry, Was that okay for me to joke about? Maybe I shouldn’t-”

“No you’re good!” Leo backpedalled, slightly taken aback by your nervous tone. “I usually get worse.”

“Oh. That’s…really lame.” You said weakly.

“Yeah, it really is. But uhm that’s not what I took it as- you were just referencing how you mistook me for The Lizard, not calling me a lizard, so it’s different, right?”

You shrugged sheepishly. “I still should stop. I mean jokes aside, there’s some…some seriously fucked up stuff goin’ on nowadays what with…mutants, and I don’t wanna even mildly be part of it…” You trailed off and swallowed.

“Seriously, it’s fine.” Leo said, hesitantly patting your shoulder. “I appreciate the concern though.”

You stiffened under his touch, and he promptly snatched his hand back with an involuntary blush.

“Sorry-” He squeaked.

“Nah, you’re good, I’m just not super used to the whole….y’know, sense of touch thing. It’s fine, really! It’s just…new is all.” You said, quickly. “I mean- it’s not bad, seriously, like- you can do that! I was just surprised, you know? I don’t mind that, is what I’m trying to say, and- crud I’m rambling.” You groaned, facepalming.

There was a slightly awkward silence, and he tried to think of something to say.

“...Well, arrivederci, my good sir. Stay safe.” You said finally, hopping onto a fire escape ladder and effectively ending the awkward pause.

“...Yeah, you too. Good luck with the robots!” Leo waved.

“Thanks Blue! Good luck on patrol!” You waved, before vanishing onto the roof and out of sight.

…Maybe you weren’t too bad after all.

The next time he saw you, he had a funny feeling he wasn’t supposed to.

Possibly because your suit was all black instead of the usual black and (F/C) combo. Also possibly because the instant you noticed him, you slammed your finger to your lips and frantically gave him a thumbs down.

He stared at you blankly, tilting his head in confusion.

You rolled your head as though imitating an eye-roll, waving towards yourself.

He stifled a groan. Patrols were never normal nowadays, huh? But despite his reluctance, he hopped off the building and landed next to you in the shadows of the building- as much as he mentally complained, he was admittedly intrigued. (And it was nice to know that you’d stayed safe- he’d been a little worried, since he hadn’t seen you for like two weeks.) (Wait since when did he care if you were safe?!)

“What is it?” He whispered, and you beckoned him closer, looking around nervously.

“Shh. If we’re seen, we’re done for.” You muttered. “God I’m so glad you’re here, it makes my life a bit easier…”

“What the he- (Y/N)?! What’s going on?!” He whisper-shouted. You facepalmed.

“Shut up. You’re getting louder.” You growled, somehow managing to keep your voice low.

“Sorry.” He mumbled.

“Lookit this.” You said, shooting a web at his chest to force him to follow you as you knelt over something.

It was a laptop. He frowned, trying to make sense of it.

“...What? You…got a new computer?”

You snorted. “I wish, this thing is a piece of garbage- my funding ain’t great, I’m thinking of getting a patreon, y’know? ‘Support your friendly neighborhood (F/C)-Spider, get a safer New York City, baby!’ -But no, I actually want you to see this.”

You pointed at the screen, and Leo took in the image. It was a video…no, a livestream- of a courtroom. The people were talking back and forth, and the judge sat at the podium looking irate.

“Look, it’s almost over, but you can still see some of it.”

“What is it?” Leo asked.

“A trial. For a certain mutant-killing rich guy who just paid the government enough money to get outta jail.” You growled.

Leo’s eyes widened as he read the caption on the livestream. “Don Vivioso.” He said, mouth going dry.

You nodded grimly. “We’re not supposed to see this, hence the laptop and the stealth. Man, I wish my cameras worked long-range.” You added under your breath.

“So he’s just…free then.” Leo said, horror rising in his throat.

“Yep!” You whispered, voice cracking. “And y’know what else?”

Leo wasn’t sure he wanted to.

“His goons have been purchasing warehouses and factories…ten bucks if ya can guess why.” You said, resting your head in your hands dejectedly.

“No.” Leo swallowed, taking in your body language. It couldn’t- not that- Another wave of dread washed over him as he finally found the words. “It’s…it can’t be- (Y/N) is it anti-mutant weapons?!”

You nodded, tugging on the fabric of your gloves in frustration. “Yeah. Yeah. It is, Leo. …C’mon, let’s take this somewhere where we’re not in danger.”

“Okay.” Leo said numbly, but he shook off the shock to refocus. “I know a place.”

“Cool cool.” You murmured, and followed him out of the alleyway.

“Pizza gyoza? Well there’s a fusion food worthy of Portland.” You said lightly as Leo led you to a restaurant that he’d described as ‘low profile and fairly private’.

“I know, it sounds weird, but trust me, you’ll love it. Uh…Hopefully.” He shrugged, and swung the door open. He made the order while you picked a seat. You pulled your mask off and threw on a t-shirt from your backpack in hopes of looking like a normal civilian- not that it really mattered, come to think of it, considering you were with a human/turtle mutant with katanas strapped onto his shell. The mutant part was becoming more normal slowly, but the katanas? …Still not quite socially acceptable.

Oh yeah, and the shop owner was supposedly blind. Still, it was a good precaution….okay maybe it was just a habit.

“Wow…” Leo mumbled, coming up to the table.

“Hm?” You said, looking up from your laptop to see a wide eyed Leo with two plates of ‘pizza gyoza’ and a blush dusting his face.

“Uh- nothing! Nothing. Just- wow, your face! Um- you’re- (H/C) haired, I ah…w-was- wasn’t expecting that! Ahem. Here’s your food.” He squeaked, sliding into the booth and looking anywhere but your eyes.

“Oh, were you not expecting a secret identity reveal? Uh…surprise, I have a face.” You smiled a bit awkwardly, pointing at your face. “And it’s…normal human looking. I know, I know, kinda boring- you’d think I’d get like rad spider-features or an extra set of eyes from that radioactive spider, but uh…nope, just sticky skin and spider-sense. …And I realize now that you probably aren’t aware of that last one. It’s just what I call this weird sixth sense I have in my mental narrations….uhhh I’mma stop talking now.” You said, practically hiding behind your laptop.

Leo nodded and took a bite of his food, eyes wide and curious. “You narrate things in your head?”

You opened your mouth and closed it again. “Uh…no comment.”

He grinned. “Raph makes fun of me for doing that. I think I just built the habit from reading too many comics.”

You snorted. “...This is such a dumb thing to bond over, huh?”

He grinned back. “Who knows, maybe it’s normal for vigilantes. Our friend Casey does it too.”

You leaned back, taking a bite of your gyoza. “Maybe we all just have main character syndrome.”

Leo nodded. “Oh, definitely. I blame Captain Ryan.”

You grinned and pointed at the ‘Space Heroes’ t-shirt you’d thrown on over your super-suit. “Ayyy, same!”

Leo gaped, and you smiled proudly. “I need that shirt.” He said, eyes wide.

“I’ll buy you one!” You exclaimed. “It’ll be like…a sign of the new allyship between the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The (F/C)-Spider- the fans’ll love it.”

Leo grinned. “Well, if it’s for the fans then I guess we have no choice.”

“Lovely, you see the vision.” You said, taking another bite of pizza gyoza, before staring at it for a second. “...This tastes good but I feel like it shouldn’t. It’s…it’s like blursed. Blessed but cursed.” You added, staring at the dumpling with a mix of fondness and confusion in your face. “But um…back to business. So as we just saw in real time, Vivioso is getting out of jail free, and has some pretty horrible plans for mutants…and naturally, the police aren’t gonna stop them, as per usual. Neither is the city. So I say…”

“We take it into our hands.” Leo said grimly, with the dorky awkwardness usually in his face practically gone.

“Yup.” You nodded. “I’ve fought this guy before, and I know you probably have too, so I’m proposing….we team up. You’ve got the strategies and brains and I’ve got the brawn and charisma, you know?” You said, flexing your arms dramatically with a smirk.

Leo hummed, taking another bite of food hesitantly. “Don Vivioso tried to dissect my brother once.”

You froze.

Shit.

“Damn. That’s…heavy.”

Leo nodded, his eyes narrowed intensely. “Yeah. …So my brothers? They’re staying out of this.”

You nodded back, feeling a weird throb of nervousness at the look on his face. You swallowed. “Okay. I can work with that.” It was arguably better this way- you were convinced that the red brother hated you, and you knew the orange one was easily distracted, and the purple…okay you really didn’t know much about the purple one, but it didn’t matter. It was only Leo who was joining you, who was all you really wanted, anyways.

“So that means the team-up would be you, me, and whoever your ‘backup’ is.” Leo continued.

“Backup is Miles…er, you’d know him as that new Spider-man. He’s got the same powers as me.” You said, tapping your fingers on the table contemplatively. “Is that enough people for…um, you know, taking down an evil asshole for good?”

Leo shrugged. “I think it’s as good as we’re gonna get.”

“Okay. …So are you in?” You said, holding your hand out across the table.

He swallowed and shook it. “Yeah. I’m in.”

“Great, let’s talk strategy.” You grinned, letting go of his hand.

i'm very new to comics and i'm really enjoying your Daredevil reading guide!! i was wondering if you or you knew anyone who had a reading guide for spiderman? mainly for other spider people that aren't peter parker since the new spiderverse movie is coming out soon?

Hi, and welcome to the wonderful world of comics! First and foremost, I'm going to point you toward the Spider-Verse event, which is the storyline that inspired the films (or the first film, at least), as well as the Edge of Spider-Verse series of stand-alone issues, which highlighted some of the key players and introduced Spider-Gwen and Peni Parker (SP//dr). There was a sequel event a few years later called Spider-Geddon, with its own Edge of Spider-Geddon tie-in. I also have a Spider-Gwen reading list (which is not fully up-to-date at this point but will give you a solid grounding in the character). The recent Spider-Punk series was really fun, Spider-Girl about Peter and MJ's daughter is great, Ultimate Spider-Man volume 3 (Miles Morales' first solo series) is great, and I've heard only good things about Spider-Man 2099, which introduced Miguel O'Hara. I also, of course, have a recommendation list for some of Peter Parker's team-ups with Matt Murdock.

Beyond that, I am not the best Spider-People source, but I know I have a lot of followers who are big Spidey fans who, I'm sure, could shower you with reading recommendations (I'm going to summon @yellow-suit-daredevil and @brawltogethernow in particular, but I know there are many others).

I spoke about this idea with meldoesthedraw on Twitter, but what if Zoot's cousins also had some type of weird, unexplained power?? I think it's a hilarious concept that fits so well into the whole randomness that is the muppets so here are some ideas I tossed around

I think Liv would have spidey sense, it'd probably come in handy when she starts working with the band and all the chaos they get themselves wrapped into

Zephyr has the power to censor swears. I'm not too sure how this would work since it would affect people around her, not just herself, but when somebody swears near her a little black box appears over their mouths and the swear gets bleeped out (maybe the person swearing has to be at a certain distance in order for the curse to be censored?)

I'll hold my hands up and admit this was 100% inspired by Sans from Undertale, but Raph having the ability to teleport/appear randomly without a sound

I wasn't too sure with Penny and Laser, but my first thought with Penny was the ability to read and communicate with people telepathically. And for Gavin (I'm the most unsure with what his ability could be, so if you have any suggestions feel free to share them!) I had two what-if ideas: -When he senses something is going to happen, something exciting or dramatic, his mowhawk twitches (totally inspired by Pinkie Pie and cockatoos)

-I'm not sure how to word this so sorry if it's a bit confusing, but you know in classic comic books where somebody gets punched, and they'll be a big speech bubble reading 'POW' or 'BAM'. I thought it'd be fitting if Gavin had the ability to make these onomatopoeia's appear behind him when he makes certain sounds

Well Im VERY MUCH still in the spaghetti-at-the-wall phase of planning, so its still pretty vague >_<

First off, the "Final Girl" idea for MJ has changed a little since I first imagined it. Originally, I was picturing the story as a one-off run-in with a murderer, which only MJ survives. But now I'm toying with the idea of MJ and Spidey having more episodic run-ins with a rogues gallery of horrors. Still, I think in a proper comic or movie set on Earth-1818, MJ would be more of a central protagonist than Spidey-1818.

I'd like to work more varied horror inspirations into the rogues gallery. That's a work in progress

But so far I've been thinking a lot about Resident Evil-- Oscorp having an Umbrella Corporation type moment yknow.....testing weapons on citizens and all that....and the general vibe of doing a dance on the line between sci-fi and supernatural. Love thatttt.

I also named the dimension Earth-1818 after Frankenstein being originally published in 1818. Spidey-1818 ended up as a sort of more childlike version of The Creature, in my mind.

My original idea for the Spider-thing was a shapeshifter, & so the "thing" in its name was originally a reference to THE Thing, but...it isn't anymore. 😔

Now, for headcanons:

Since Peni works for Oscorp, she Absolutely milks the fact that they Need her to pilot SP//dr to get Things like rare snacks and merchandise and music and trinkets for Spider's terrarium

She was already kind of an Oddball while going to boarding school when her dad was out being SP//dr. The typical parent-influenced child cruelty towards kids with absent parents

She was transferred to a school closer to Oscorp and her Aunt and Uncle upon getting Bit, and she’s kinda known as the “kid with her head in the clouds” and “kid who definitely brings a spider with her to school but as long as her grades are good and it doesn’t bite anyone then whatevers”

There’s a bit of contradictory info in the comics about how secret her identity as SP//dr is, but for the movie-verse I imagine Oscorp tries to keep that info contained since she’d be vulnerable while at school but also More Importantly to avoid a Media Uproar about them having a Child fight deadly foes on the regular

As I’ve said, I’d want Peni and Addy to be Besties before the VE#m Incident. Maybe instead of the ill-timed approach during school that the comics had, Uncle Ben would’ve introduced Addy to Peni as a potential support/partner during missions. Peni would be kinda resistant at first like the comics cuz What Is She without SP//dr and now there’s someone who could potentially Replace Her???? But then maybe they’d bond over music and that’d snowball into friendship as Peni showed Addy the ropes concerning mech piloting and “it’s different since you’ll be bonding with just the AI but I’m sure you’ll be fine!”

The “new” SP//dr design was based off schematics Peni unearthed after being in a bit of a Fugue State post-VE#m Incident. Maybe they were files her father had hidden away.

It's Awkward when Peni starts living with Ben and May. Peni was probably already a bit self-sufficient from living at boarding school, and Ben and May are scientists first, guardians second. That changes, softens, when time passes. I think by the time the VE#m Incident happened, maybe Peni was beginning to see them more like parents

It's kinda curious that Ben wasn't a genetic match for SP//dr. Maybe Peni's dad and him aren't blood-related??

In the comics, Daredevil is sorta like Peni's mentor? Would love to see him in the movie-verse, too, as like a mentor/dorky uncle who keeps giving her stickers with weird/funky imagery cuz he can't see them and thinks it's funny to surprise the both of them upon gifting like "here, kid." "...Uncle Matt, this is a sticker sheet of gold stars saying 'you tried.'" "Oh, huh, well, you're welcome." (She sticks one of these on him when he isn't paying attention)

And ohhhh MAN, I know we didn't see him in ATSV, but there's a Kamen Rider/Super Sentai-inspired Spidey who pilots a huge zord called Leopardon and he and all the other mech/robo Spideys are like a Squad in the comics. Would love to see him and Peni bonding over mechanics!!

Peni Definitely had a hand in building/improving the Go Home Machine with Margo

Something someone said to me on Twitter because of my Trust comic is that Spider probably hangs out with other Spideys while Peni is hyperfocused on her work. And I was like YES she Absolutely has to basically play hide n seek with Spider and go to all her friends to see which one has him

Spider likes being spun around like a yo-yo and has a Lot of fun hanging with Pavitr. Spider has a specific reason for liking each of the Squad, actually, and will go to them depending on his Mood

Spider is Highly Intelligent and can pilot SP//dr independently to help Peni with tasks (in the Spider-Verse Unlimited webcomic he helps Peni with her hardwiring homework)

Peni and Spider's psychic connection happens with feelings instead of words. In the suit, those feelings tend to synch so they're of one mind. With the other Spideys, Spider usually communicates with a Lot of gestures and hopping but will resort to Charlotte's Web and weave words if he needs to

Back to my mention of Spider with a Terrarium. He has multiple: one at Peni's house, one at Oscorp, and one at the Spider Society. None of them follow a specific aesthetic, just whatever Spider and Peni like at any given moment

Peni keeps a container of live insects on her person at all times for Spider. She has absolutely almost opened the container on multiple occasions forgetting it's not one of Her Snacks

In the spirit of Peni's heinous ability to chew bubblegum and eat chips at the same time, she Loves eating things with strong flavors and weird textures

One time she spent a Whole Week grinding levels for an MMO with her tech bud, Margo, and they celebrated their raid boss victory by turning the Go Home room into a massive blanket fort where they were found fast asleep in a pile of pillows surrounded by snacks (oh, shit, I should draw that hold on I'm adding it to my list, lol)

And to close on a somber note, Peni has a small shrine at home for her father, her aunt, and Addy. She always takes a moment with it before leaving the house.

And nooow, here’s some Actual Canon things in the Movie-verse I noticed after watching ITSV Everyday for a Week:

Her psychic link with Spider and SP//dr means she Feels when the mech gets Rough Up

Her eyes glowed red when Spider bit her and I imagine they just Do That whenever she focuses on their Bond

The SP//dr mech probably had its own sentience/AI since it emoted without either of its pilots inside. Remnant of her father, maybe?

Okay also speaking of her father, since he Built that suit that means he was probably a Huge Dork for designing the outer panel to emote like that (or Peni programmed it that way but it’s cuter to think her dad did it, lol)

Also, either her dad was a Small Guy or the pilot’s chair was adjusted to fit Peni after she took over, which MMM means it has to get adjusted every time Peni grows like that’s not a particularly efficient design choice??? Or maybe the hull can just adjust itself depending on the pilot, lol

SP//dr’s joints are Magnetized, which gives it a pretty broad range of movement

Peni was trained in some sort of martial arts, which makes sense if she ever needs to fight while outside the suit and gives SP//dr more versatility during combat if it’s in-built weapons aren’t viable

At the very least, Peni is Bilingual. Her New York probably has a majority mix of English and Japanese speakers

She embossed the Goober with a Spidey Insignia, which she either made on the side while working on the Goober or her universe just Has That, lol. Maybe it’s the insignia they use in Oscorp to label SP//dr-related things

She knew where Aunt May's house was in Miles' universe, so she canonically lives in Queens, too. I wonder if she tried going to Oscorp at all?

I first found your page because I liked your Spider-Man x MHA comics but as I've followed you for the past two years, I find myself preferring your OC content more and more; I've especially grown fond of your monster designs and the mix of humor/horror you inject into both characters. If you ever plan on making a webcomic or something similar, I would read it in a heartbeat.

hello andro0s I've been mulling over this ask for awhile.

The short version is that I really really really really am grateful that you enjoy my original content as I'm at a crossroads of rebuilding my self esteem and confidence in myself and as an artist. And that whats really holding me back is my own self doubt. But also I want to try. It's why I bought a bunch of books for inspiration for these specific projects to see what I can conjure.

I still want to do Spidey x MHA because well......i still enjoy it. And rewatching the raimi films and rereading the lee/Ditko run right now is reminding me of how much I love spiderman.

New locations, updated exploration, exhilarating traversal, near-instant switching between heroes, a rogue’s gallery of villains, new abilities and gadgets, and brand-new Suit Styles are just some of the ways we’re upping the game this time around.

So, what’s new?

In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we’re nearly doubling the size of Marvel’s New York. Expanding beyond the East River, you’ll swing and soar over iconic landmarks across Queens and Brooklyn—complete with story missions, side quests, and city activities! This expansion also means even faster traversal options such as the Web Wings, which can be combined with traditional web swinging to move at exhilarating speeds.

Players will also be able to switch between Peter Parker and Miles Morales in the open world, near-instantly thanks to the power of the PlayStation 5. Both Spider Heroes are important characters to the grand story we’re telling in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and each will have their own separate side stories to uncover throughout the city. Help students at Brooklyn Visions as Miles Morales or accept new requests for aid as Peter Parker via the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man app—you can even choose to tackle certain activities as either Spider-Man!

Kraven the Hunter and the monstrous Venom join our roster of villains and will strain our heroes, their relationships, and the place they call home.
