Update: North Gaza Women's Project!
Mahmoud Abu Salama is doing an amazing thing in North Gaza! He is starting a project to help Deaf Palestinian women use their pastry making skills while also distributing food to families in need. This is helping both the women make a bit of a living and feed the hungry in the North.

toshiro is also autistic and clearly envies how much laios doesn't mask and is able to say whatever he's thinking outright (he literally says so after their fight). and he was raised as like a minor lord or whatever in feudal japan so he learned to mask early on and that combination of masking + raised in a high-context culture + being in a foreign land with different etiquette means that he'll go through herculean levels of discomfort to not upset any perceived group balance and only snaps when he's like three days away from dropping dead. which is also something he sees in falin btw and is a big reason why he's drawn to her. imo

In my mind: amy could not love metal to the degree metal loves her. He is a tool, perpetually dying, lacking any control over his life. He wishes he could have control over her, his relationship with her, small beacon of hope and stability in his life, in which he cant even stay in the same body, his elements repaired and replaced. Symbolically having control over her would mean control over his own life and happiness. But its never gonna happen, because she is a person, and a person who has other people to help. She wants to save him too, of course, but she can't be dedicated to him to the same degree he can.
