again i feel like someone has snipershot me to the heart with tenderness, everything about this fic and the premise just speaks to a core desire i have to create moments like this, to bypass someone’s armor and touch their heart, and be a source of healing for hurt just by the gift of our mere presence and vice versa - and have this moment and memory become an indescribable source of light and strength in dark and dreary times to be taken out and relived over and over again as needed (or is it just me that does this lol idk)

Today, along with the rest of your shitty week, was just not going your way. As a servant in the castle, of course days are usually busy and a little hectic. Normally, you're able to navigate the highs and lows effectively enough, and whatever storms you can't weather you can always lean on your friends or partner, Cedric.

Well, that would be the case if King Roland didn't decide to throw a very last minute ball that was only a week away. The rigorous work coupled with no adequate time to prepare left you completely devoid of energy; so visiting friends seemed like a daunting task.

You also knew that whenever a ball was scheduled, Cedric was equally if not more busy than you preparing for a magic show. You usually give him his space to work in peace in these situations, but you find yourself yearning to just see his handsome face.

However, something inside you recently has kept you from reaching out to him.

You sigh deeply, rubbing your temples to try and ease the brain fog thickening in your mind. Multiple restless nights along with work related stress has your mind wandering to dark but familiar places.

Whenever you find yourself overwhelmed, bad memories and feelings always pop up more often than usual. You sigh again, willfully ignoring the tightening of your throat and the way your eyes felt sore from holding back tears.

As more dark thoughts churn in the forefront of your mind, you feel your actions going into autopilot. Turning dumbly to your task at hand, you lift the bulky box of decorations from the floor.

Because the box was so big, your field of vision was greatly reduced; coupled with you not paying attention, you missed the last step on the stairs back to the main castle.

You felt your heart drop as your body crumpled to the floor. The box quickly followed suit, the crashing sound of breaking glass activating your nervous system. You hear blood rush to your ears, and before you could stop it a sob escaped from your lips.

You weren't sure how much time passes, but eventually you will yourself to get up. Propping your hand off the floor, you begin to push off when a searing pain rips through your palm.

You cried out, yanking your hand back to your chest. Your eyes flick to your hand, dark red already trickling down in steady waves to your forearm. You see a piece of crystal embedded in your flesh, along with a nasty looking gash ripping across your palm.

You curse loudly, internally criticizing yourself for forgetting the broken glass on the floor. Even though the pain was growing in volume, you almost feel relief in a way- at least with this pain, your head finally feels clear.

With that clarity, you realize you need to get this wound dressed immediately. You scoot away from the hazardous material on the floor, using the stairs as leverage to get your body off the ground.

You suddenly hear Violet's familiar voice from the nearby corridor, and your body stiffens. You suddenly feel exposed, and wish to whatever forces above that they won't turn the corner to find you in the state you're in.

Your answers fell on deaf ears as Violet came rushing to your side, her eyes wide with confusion and shock.

"What happened, dear??" Violet exclaimed, taking in the mess before her.

"I missed a step on the stairs...." You croaked, cringing at how hoarse you sounded. You pray Violet wouldn't catch it, but she was never one to miss small details. Tearing her eyes from the ruined decorations, she takes you in with a worried look.

"Oh, are you alri-" Violet's words got caught in her throat, eyes bulging at the blood seeping from you. Her skin blanched, and you quickly tucked your hand out of sight in shame.

You stand there awkwardly, shame and guilt quickly traversing your body. You don't look Violet in the eyes, unable to witness her reaction anymore.

"I-I'll fe-f-fetch a doctor, right away!" The maid squeaks, already turning away from you to rush off. You didn't even have time to protest before she disappeared as quickly as she had come.

You stare in disbelief, and for some reason the interaction left you feeling angry. The pain from your palm swelled in time with your anger, making your skin buzz. Your breathing started to hitch as you attempted to take in a deep breath to calm down.

Feeling fed up with waiting, you find your body moving of its own accord. Wrapping your oozing hand in your skirts, you briskly walk to the destination you have in mind.

Cedric's workshop.

As you neared your destination, your body lost its furious pace; now replaced by a lingering feeling of dread. You knew Cedric wouldn't react well to you being hurt, and knowing this didn't make you feel any less anxious.

The dangerous thoughts clouding you earlier flicker in the depths of your brain again, in between worrying about Cedric's reaction. You blink rapidly to try and regain your focus, trudging up the sorcerer's staircase you've walked a million times.

Using the last ounce of courage you had, you timidly knocked on Cedric's door.

A moment of silence passes before you hear the familiar footsteps. Your heart leaped in your throat as his door cracked open, his angular face peeking out from the wooden frame.

Upon seeing you, his eyes immediately lit up. You can't help but crack a small smile at his happiness.

"Y/n! I was just thinking of you, darling!" Cedric purred as he opened the door. Within moments you tuck your injury closer to your side, thankful he still hasn't noticed.

You chuckle in response, trying not to sound too nervous.

"Really? ...All pure, innocent thoughts I hope?" You chirp back, tucking yourself against the wall to help conceal your hand from Cedric.

You looked up at his rose-tinted cheeks, and you let out a genuine chuckle this time.

Seeing your amused smirk, Cedric decided this time to be bold in his response. Before you could tease him further, he closed the gap and pressed his body against you.

As Cedric leaned in to connect his lips to yours, a flash of icy pain runs up your arm and into your elbow, sending shooting waves of agony throughout your body. You cried out loudly, instinctively shoving Cedric away from you.

With your arm now out in the open, there was nowhere left to hide. Cedric looks at you hurt and confused, but before you open your mouth his eyes drift on the source of your distress.

His eyebrows shot up immediately, worry lines etching onto his forehead. His golden eyes grew dark with fear, and you see his hands start to tremble. His mouth hangs open in shock, and while he's still processing you grab your opportunity to explain yourself.

"Okay, I know it looks bad, but- I just need to borrow some of your things to dress it. I'll be quick about it too, and then I'll be out of your way. Promise."

Your words feel more like a plea rather than a promise, and your body tenses in preparation of Cedric's answer.

Your eyes lock with his bright amber ones as Cedric stays eerily silent. You didn't expect such a... non-reaction, and that unnerved you moreso. You see multiple emotions whirl across his features; bewilderment, concern, shock. All in succession.

What surprised you the most, however, was the rising look of anger darkening his face.

"You'll be out the way?" Cedric echoed, his head tilted in exasperation.

"I... Well, yeah... You're busy right now, so-" You start, feeling yourself shrink with each passing word. Your words quickly died on your tongue as the storm brewing within Cedric's eyes grew.

He suddenly turns away from you sharply, almost making you flinch. Taking his wand from his robe, drawers magically flew open with a loud creak. Potions, a few bottles of herbs, and tightly bound cloth assemble midair and hover just above his head.

You hear the sorcerer muttering to himself, presumably double and triple checking to make sure he grabbed the correct ingredients.

Even though he was doing exactly as you asked, you can't help but feel a little... Hurt. . Even though logically you knew Cedric wasn't really mad at you, his upsetting stare carved a hole in your heart. You really didn't want to bother Cedric, and already felt bad for interrupting thus far with such a gruesome sight.

Insecurity writhed in your gut like a beastly thing, and you feel the urge to bolt back to the hallway you came from to wait for the doctor.

However, Cedric turned back to you before you could seriously consider the notion. His face was less pissed than before, now replaced with a furrowed brow of concentration.

"Alright, sit." Cedric commanded, placing down his things with a flick of the wand.

"What?" You question, your mind snapping back to reality.

Cedric sighed, placing his gloved hands on your shoulders.

"I need you to sit." Gently but firmly guiding your body to his work chair, he pushes you down into the seat. It begins to dawn on you that Cedric plans to treat your hand himself, contradictory to your plans.

You felt your heart warm at the gesture, and you bit your cheek to keep from grinning too hard. You feel just a touch lighter than before, and you say a silent prayer of thanks for Cedric's kindness.

However, you're quickly reminded Cedric was still upset with your wording, and it poisons your previous happiness.

You squirm a little in Cedric's seat as he preps himself. Taking off his leather gloves, he ferociously washes his arms in soap and hot water. You try not to linger on the curves of his hands and arms for too long, but in the end you end up staring anyways.

Sanitization complete, he sits and turns to you. You wordlessly offer your injured hand, and he in turn accepts it into his own. His hand was still hot from the water, and you exhaled in relief from the contact.

Cedric hums as he inspects the damage, the wheels turning in the back of his eyes. With his silent inspection done, his amber eyes flick upwards to you.

"This is quite the nasty one, love. I'm afraid I can't do anything until I get the glass out. And it must come out immediately." Cedric proclaimed, grabbing a delicate pair of large forceps that cheekily glistened in the afternoon sun.

The glare seemed to mock you, and for the first time today you feel fear for what would become of your hand.

"Right." You nod meekly, unsure of how to answer. Even though you train your face to be neutral, Cedric knows that it's a thinly veiled facade. He gives you a gentle apologetic smile, leaning to give you a soft kiss on your forehead.

"Not to worry though; in that cabinet below you there's something to dull the pain." Cedric nodded in the direction he was talking about.

"I suggest taking it liberally before I do anything further." Cedric eyes you with a slightly mischievous grin, and you return his smile with a confused yet slightly amused one yourself.

Cautiously opening the drawer, you find a bottle of spirits waiting for you.

"Booze?" You scoff wildly, a laugh bubbling up from your chest. You whip your head towards Cedric as he joins in with your laughter.

"I promise, it's the fastest acting remedy I have at the moment!" Cedric gushed, trying his best to keep a straight face.

"I'm actually lucky enough to not need to keep healing magicks around the castle." He added more somberly, his laughter dying down. His eyes cast downwards to your hand again, a pained expression on his face.

"I'm sorry." You offer a weak apology, gesturing to your injury. You're again reminded of your position as an intruder in Cedric's work flow. You sigh inwardly, feeling uncomfortable.

"What do you need to apologize for?" Cedric cooed, shaking his head.

"I.. I don't know." You confess, thinking back to what got you in this mess at all. If only you weren't so clumsy. If only your head wasn't your worst enemy, enmeshing you into a dangerous trap whenever you feel stressed. If only you'd reach out to Cedric this time around, instead of trying to shoulder everything alone. But none of what came to mind seemed to satisfy what you felt most sorry for at all- because all of it was true, and all of it was you.

Your fault.

"...For just, being me I suppose." You finished, your voice noticeably cracking. Your throat begins to tighten up, and your eyes stung with a familiar pain.

"Y/N-" Cedric starts, but you quickly reach for the bottle in the cabinet as an excuse to move your face away before the tears begin to fall. With blurred vision, you swipe the alcohol from its resting spot and try in a vain attempt to open it one handed.

"Let me help," Cedric reached towards you, muttering a short spell to release the cap to the bottle. You sighed in resignation, staring at the stone floor as you try to regain your composure.

"Thank you, Cedric." You speak softly.

You force your eyes to meet his, hoping that he could see that you weren't just thanking him for opening the bottle. You and Cedric lock eyes for a moment, and a beat of silence passes.

Cedric breaks the tension with a bittersweet smile. "You know, I wish I could comfort you with more than words at the moment. But sadly, I'm sterile." He groaned comically, hanging his hand while he held his arms up in mock defeat.

You snicker, holding up the hefty liquor bottle in response. "Well, I guess it doesn't matter if I end up forgetting today ever happened."

"Let's not get ahead of ourselves." Cedric looks at you pointedly, tutting in disapproval.

"Right, of course. How could I forget?" You ask sarcastically, moreso talking to yourself more than Cedric. Before the bottle touches your lips, however, you feel a hand wrap around your wrist.

You stop, shooting Cedric a puzzled look.

"I'm glad you came to me when you needed help." Cedric held your gaze boldly, his eyes aflame with a passion that made your heart skip a beat.

"And even if you do end up forgetting today... I don't ever want you to forget how much I care for you. You're never "in my way", no matter how busy I look." Cedric shakes his head, and for a moment you feel like a scolded child. You look away from the sorcerer in shame, fidgeting in place.

Seeing you cast your eyes away, his hand gently leaves your wrist and settles against your cheek. Cedric's fingers and thumb coax your head back up to look him in the eyes again.

"I know you struggle with feeling otherwise- but you don't need to apologize for it, either. We all struggle with something; what matters is how we can get the help we need to overcome it. Alright?"

Cedric finished gently, his hand leaving your face too soon for your liking. You stare in silent awe at his proclamation, and then feel a swell of pride at how far he's come to be able to say that with confidence.

With your heart ready to burst and your eyes already misting over, you eagerly nod in approval of his words.

"Yes, I think I can drink to that." You squeezed out, lifting the bottle in a toast to Cedric. His eyes twinkle with love in response, a smile creeping along his cheeks.

You down as much as you could in one sitting, the fiery liquid scalding your throat. You bite back coughs as you give one last chug, setting the concoction down in haste.

"I'm... ready." You slur, your body immediately feeling heavy.

"Right; let's get to work then." Cedric nodded, grabbing the forceps on his work table with a slight hesitation.

After about an hour of minor surgery, a few more swigs of alcohol, and a very distressed Violet storming Cedric's door to hunt you down (according to her, you left quite the horrific blood trail) you were thoroughly cleaned up and your hand was neatly bandaged.

While you were no longer incapacitated by your injury, you were just as helpless from being drunk during the procedure. Cedric had asked if you would rather see a doctor a couple of times, but honestly him taking care of you was the more appealing option.

Plus, the pain wasn't the only reason you needed a couple more drinks- this week was shit, and this was the first time you felt yourself loosen up.

"Alright, let's get you some fluids that isn't alcoholic in nature." Cedric chuckled, but you pouted as you relinquished the bottle to him.

"Oh, don't make that face at me. You've lost enough blood as it is without the alcohol thinning it." Cedric chided, mixing together fresh water with an herbal solution at his couldron.

You huff in response, laying your head lazily on the work table beside you. Your watch Cedric's face as he mixes together the solution meant for you, his brows burrowed and his lips purses in concentration. His white bangs hung slightly in his eyes, creating a dreamy curtain of silver as they catcyh the sun's rays.

Your cheeks already felt warm from being intoxicated, but now they burned like hot coals. Acting on a whim, you quietly get up from your chair to sneak behind Cedric. You knew he easily gets absorbed in his work, so even in your clumsy drunken state he hadn't realized your presence.

You slink to his side, your fingers eagerly reaching to touch his hair. Your fingertips brushed against the silky strands, catching Cedric's attention.

"Oh!" Cedric exclaimed, head raised in alarm at your sudden appearance.

"Haha, caught ya..!" You laughed, your body swaying dangerously in your delirium.

Cedric grabbed your waist, trying to steady you. You leaned in closer to him for support, your forehead resting comfortably into his chest.

"My, it seems you did..." Cedric murmured into your hair, gently stroking it. You hum in contentment, relishing the moment. He pulls you closer into a full embrace, and you return it swiftly.

"It seems like I have you now though, hm?" Cedric laughs lowly in your ear, and immediately you realize you've fallen perfectly into his trap.

"Damn..." You curse under your breath.

"So, what will you do with me?" You try to keep your face neutral, but you make sure to put in an extra flirtatious lilt to your voice.

You look up from your eyelashes to meet Cedric's face, and all he gives you in response is a raised eyebrow.

"Well, for starters... Make you drink this tea." Cedric thrust the cup into your face, and with a sigh you drink the beverage.

You wince at the intense bitter taste, and immediately you feel a little more sober. Reluctantly, you soldier on until it's all gone.

"Excellent. Now, to put you to bed." Cedric chirps, and before you can even process a flirty reply the sorcerer puts a finger to your lips.

"And no, not like that. So don't get any ideas." Cedric said sternly.

You chuckle, but say nothing in reply.

Cedric gently helps you to his bed, easing you down carefully and making sure your injury isn't being pressured.

You slowly get comfortable, sighing into the pillows as you inhale Cedric's scent.

"Would you like to drift off naturally, or would you like a sleep spell?" Cedric asked, already covering you with a blanket.

"Sleep spell... Please." You peek up at Cedric, taking in a final look of his eyes, his hair, his face, everything.

"All right." Cedric spoke softly, leaning in to give you a quick kiss on the lips. As his lips left yours, he uttered the spell you requested.

You feel the pull of sleep tug at your eyelids instantly, and you relax more into the fine down mattress. Cedric lingers by your side, watching to make sure the spell was taking effect. Seeing your eyes grow heavy, he whispers goodnight as he rises to return to his workshop.

Before you slip into unconsciousness, your last waking thought was how much you adored your sensational sorcerer.

This is the last suuuuper long post of me wondering what pripara outfits mayoi might wanna wear ! If you're somehow here without coming from part 1 or 2 (since again, i wont be tagging this....) here should be a link to part 1 and also part 2 (sorry again foosybit followers for triple posting)

Gaarmageddon Red Dia from Love Devi !! a card theme was present in an outfit i would die if i didnt draw it. no original masc version cuz it's literally a card wonderland theme so say hi to pathetic pushed over vermilion mayoi. also at this point i was admittedly getting quite pooped from all the drawing so unless i really wanted to see something i just didnt do it lol

Hello ninja association again, no brand for this one cuz it's actually from a merch line so idk if it even exists outside the merch line ?? Which. Lets slow down a bit lemme tell u my shock when i find out that not only is there boypara but theres a ninja idol boy with partially yellow hair ???!?!!?!???! shinobu come pick up ur little bro he's out here performing in a wrestling ring !!!!!! so of course i listen to all the grand total of 2 songs he has and try to find all the images i can of ushimitsu (name of the ninja boy) and find this silly merch line where he gets to work at the ninja monja (which i believe is established as a thing he actually does if the wiki trivia section is to be trusted cuz as i said im nowhere near learning about him thru the show or stage play or whatever)

Aromat Card Aroma from Love Devi !! it looks like the original has tarot cards but a card's a card in my book so they got the symbols. honestly it's mostly just me vaguely tasking inspiration from the original to create my own outfit but whateva im near the end and im having fun and i really liked this one so woohoo !!!! also that dress length is supposed to go to the ankle, it's just scrunched up rn hehe

Moonlight Purple from Baby Monster !! Last one !!!! I think the pripara characters deserve to have bigger hats dam !!! I think this is a very pretty outfit hehehe he's bound to get little shorts like these some day (me hoping and praying) !!!!

one last thing b4 y'all leave !! ya as i just implied, i actually watched a bit of aikatsu (enough to get to the second protag is all i remember) i just ended up with a greater attachment to pripara cuz it was my very very first anime, but yea yurika's eternally flickering flame go listen to it and imagine it's mayoi maybe even wearing his fs trust me on this one u have to experience it please please please please heres the full version too (no shade to the vers w ozora i just think yurika fits mayois voice more), anyway im on my knees begging for this to be what his solo ends up like just cover the song it'll be fine no one will notice trust me mayoi u gotta sing this

SPLATOON 3 DIRECT my thoughts n stuff :]

ok so obviously spoilers kjdfhgkjd i have Many Thoughts so i am gonna put everything under a readmore!

i am so eXCITED to walk around splatsvilllee!!!!!!!!! it's so much bigger n feels more Lived In!!!

n i'm guessing the music playing in the first part of the video is what's gonna play in thee tutorial? w how the music builds up and everythingg and it's of the main songg n stuuff just like how it is in the first two games!

the new ink refill sprite thingy is super neat!!! a lil on the fence abt how it loooks but! i like that it shows that u get ink faster when swimming in ink!!

tHE STAGESSSS ARE SO COOOOOOLL i especially lOVE that including hammerhead bridge gives us an explanation as to hOW exactly we're transported to and from splat1 and splat2 stages -w- also it's so cool to see it finished!!! i haven't played splat1 nearly as much as splat2 but i'm happy that that stage is coming back -w- aND FLOUDER HEIGHTS IN THE UPDATE TOO also i lOVE the detail of the NILS statue being in the bg but u can't see it in the eng ver of the direct bc of the name covering it but u can see it in the japanese direct dhkdjfgs

mahi-mahi is nice too!!!!! i really liked that stage in splat1 :D and it looks so much better skjhdfgd and i am also wondering abt tHIS badboy history museum lookin stage in the updates >:3c

i actually really love the new weapon currency?? it's super clever n i love that you can get weapons early!! dualie squelchers my beloved skjhdfgd n by how the freshness stars look and work i don't think that the freshness goes down when you lose a bunch now like how they did in splat 2! :0 which is really nice -w- when checking the splat website for extra details it looks like there are different kinds of liscences too! :0 bc having splatoon 2 save data grants you 3 gold sheldon liscences so that should meann that the ones on the screen rn are silverr? maybe tin n then there's bronze n silver? idk???

the music that plays in sheldon's shop is really nice ;-;

the new shopkeepers are pretty neat too -w- i don't have very many thoughts abt them :c except for mr coco he sounds so silly i love him dskjhdfg

tHE NEW LOBBY UI IS SO COOL BUt also has me wondering a lil w how similar it looks to the oe ui. that coulped w the sea cucumber phones makes me hOPE that we get to see deep sea citizens around! or at least iso padre n cq maybe 🥺

they show which team is in the lead!!!!!!! i fucking love that ty it takes less brainpower now <33

and rainmaker has checkpoints now!!! which is super nice so now the rainmaker doesn't always spawn back in the middle and you don't have to do that jump off the map to bring it back thing anymore bc the checkpoints are closer to your base now so yEAH that's super nice!!!

hiii <3 thats a good question...i never actually sat down to think which my top 5 is :o

n1 is def eremika (eren yeager + mikasa ackerman from aot). one of them fell for the other first, but the other fell harder, one of them is like “let me carry the burden of ur sins with u” and the other is like “i am a monster but she has nothing to do with it, i will not let her take the blame for my sins”😭😭 their love is so tragic, but also so beautiful. they are the definition of right person wrong time and they make me cry like a baby.💔

n2 is yuchi (yuki sohma + machi kuragi from fruits basket). idk what exactly it is about them that makes me go crazy, but its probably the fact that i relate to those 2 characters the most out of every single character ive seen in media. they are so broken and self deprecating, not knowing what they want and if they are enough to love and to be loved...and then they find each other and lift each other up, make each other better, teach each other that u can be found and loved even if u’re damaged, but u also need to move forward, make an effort to realise that life isnt all bad and there are people who care for u.💗

n3 is iwaoi (iwaizumi hajime + oikawa tooru from haikyuu!!). best/childhood friends to lovers my beloved...they are soulmates, their banter is like my favorite thing ever, plus u can so effortlessly tell they will always be there for each other even if oceans are between them. they are life partners whether someone sees their relationship as romantic or just platonic.

n4 rn is probably asheiji (ash lynx + eiji okumura from banana fish). basically for the same reasons i love eremika... those little moments of happiness they shared together made everything more painful for me </3 i think about the parallels between the 2 relationships and cry myself to sleep 😭

n5 gotta be renga (reki kyan + langa hasegawa from sk8). strangers to friends to best friends to lovers...even in the actual show u could sense the mutual pining altho they werent explicitly canon. there was angst, but in the end all they need is each other to be happy. reki is a ball of sunshine extrovert who brought light to a broken soul’s life, even tho behind everything he is very insecure himself. langa is a spaced out introvert who was deeply wounded and had lost sight of the meaning of his life and yet learned to have fun again thanks to reki and is now ready to shower him with compliments at any given moment, so that he never feels not enough again.🥰

so xiao cuddles <3 he’ll read to his partner but it’s likely he’s also just sitting there in silence holding his s/o

i think ningguang respects ganyu too much to force her to run around for stuff but ganyu probably likes ning’s partner enough to do it anyway

she stays at her partner’s place while they’re sick because the crux might make them feel seasick instead

but she goes back and forth to the crux to get her things and take care of business and such. her crew probably loves her partner so they have things for bei to bring back <3

bei doesn’t even leave her partner’s town but she’s got sango pearls, cecilias, qingxin, cor lapis jewelry, dendrobiums (even though those are like. blood flowers. they’re pretty it’s fine) and many many fruits

xiangling comes by with food for bei and co and sticks around to hear beidou telling her partner stories about her time at sea

beidou is. she’s so buff okay. she carries her partner in and out of the room and to the living room or kitchen or brings everything to her partner and you can see how defined her muscles are bye i’m in love with her

we already know bei learned to cook a little bit from xiangling but beidou is absolutely learning to cook more while her partner is sick. xiangling is there giving her cooking lessons while beidou’s partner watches <3 bei with that look of concentration and she’s so quick with the knives too i’m- okay but her spoonfeeding her partner?? *chef’s kiss* ;)

beidou puts too much pepper in a dish and it deffo clears sinuses LMAO but she tried and it actually does taste very good if you can handle your spice 🤷‍♀️ i cannot so find me with a gallon of milk later

n e ways beidou cuddles her partner to sleep and falls asleep as soon as she knows they’re resting <3 many cuddles and many kisses, even if they insist not to because cooties will get u sick bei 🥺

visits bubu’s pharmacy to get her partner’s medicine herself but also has remedies from other places too! zhongli deffo helps her with some other gifts for convalescents so it’s historically, traditionally and socially acceptable

is so worried omg

wherever his ass is, he’s going to his partner as soon as he finds out they’re sick. he’s so frowny and worried it’s almost cute but also,,,kazu it’s a cold, it’s FINE

he goes to collect qingxin and sweet flowers and stuff himself and makes his own poultices and soups and such <3

he shows up at his partner’s home with arms and buckets of flowers and herbs as soon as he possibly can. bei understands if he has to go tho, she gives him leave uwu

makes his partner soup and dried fish and gives them many smooches <3 they are not allowed out of bed LOL they just have to stay there and wait for him to dote on them

many many cuddles and smooches. he plays leaves and grass and recites poems for them he’s so cute <3 sigh, this man plays grass and i’m out here simping

also comes bearing gifts from wherever he was last tho. if he was on the crux, he’s probably got gifts from beidou and the crew even if they don’t really know kazu’s partner, they just know he’s happy and that’s what matters. if he’s not on the crux, his boss probably gives him leave and a gift or smth even if it’s just like a tea or a bottle of wine or smth

he’ll cuddle and be a blanket. but he’s also got fabrics that beidou picked up in inazuma and he uses that as a blanket for his partner <3

she’s so worried she’s such a sweetie omg

she goes to her partner immediately and fusses over them before they have to gently tell her that they’re fine

she goes to collect sweet flowers and stuff and goes to ohm, albedo and barbara for help making medicines and such

doesn’t want to leave her duties unattended to but jean also knows that amber wants to be with her s/o so she tells amber that she has fewer duties for her <3

jean tells kaeya to go make sure amber is doing okay and doesn’t need help or anything so he drags ohm, diluc, albedo and lisa too LOL

lisa was planning on going anyway, she just used diluc to carry her books w this opportunity <3 albedo is just treating amber’s partner w meds and potions and things and lisa takes a peek at that too

she’s so sad she doesn’t have ohm’s super cold skin so she can’t be a human cooling pack for her partner </3 but she gives them many smooches on cheeks and foreheads and temples

barely resists giving her partner kisses on the lips bc she still wants to go to work but also wants to give her partner what they need and sigh. it’s a struggle for amber

she wears pajamas and cuddles with her s/o <3

cooks her partner some (fully cooked!!) meals, not her specialty steak. but she makes soup and goes to good hunter and gets good hot food there too

wants to take some time off to help her partner feel better but also doesn’t want to leave work. ningguang probably sends her home at some point because she’s fretting and working and stop feeling so bad keqing, you have sick days

she still goes to work but she’s just taking marginally shorter days sigh, she goes home early instead but brings work home so she can do it while sitting with her partner

wears leisure clothes when at home with her partner but the fact that she has clothes she doesn’t use for work is shocking LMAO the cat ears stay tho ;) catgirl always

ganyu comes by with keqing’s work, some wanmin takeout and a card and gift for her partner <3

xiangling hears that keqing is home with her partner while they’re sick and brings food over to keqing’s. she’s got extra golden shrimp balls for keqing. AND AGAIN. GUOBA CUDDLES ❤️❤️❤️

keqing feels so bad for not doing as much work, she’s making herself almost as sick as her partner </3

ningguang comes over one night with beidou while keqing is doing work in bed while her partner is resting and she sees keqing stressed as all hell. she just gives keqing some food and tells her to actually rest. soft!ning and bei being moms god i love them

okay but keqing tucking her partner in with a sweet kiss before retreating to her work in the corner, the lamps turned to the lowest they can possibly be because keqing refuses to leave her beloved but can’t not do work

keqing trying to cook food for her partner that isn’t meant specifically for survival but for taste is so cute. she’s trying to cook golden shrimp balls and soup and stuff and she’s not bad at it! she took a single night of giving her s/o hot tea and some wanmin soup before she learned the whole cookbook so she can be the one to cook for them <3

venti

he brings his partner wine u cannot tell me otherwise

he goes to diluc’s. not the tavern but straight up dawn winery and asks diluc if he can get a bottle of wine for his s/o and please please please he’ll go fight some of those slimes for you, please? with the big 🥺 and staying outside diluc’s window to beg bye

diluc just gives him the wine with a glare but won’t make venti do the commission <3 venti legit says “thank barbatos” and gives diluc an ~ehe~ before he gets ready to glide away. he turns around and asks diluc if he’s sure he can’t do the comm but diluc just glares at him all broody~

diluc comes by to check on venti’s partner too bc where does venti live- venti is just camping out at his partner’s place for now and feeding them and giving them wine and diluc just kinda goes a little pink but glares while he says “get well soon” and leaves a windwheel aster from near the winery

venti makes soup and many vegetable/fruity foods because “they’re good for you! have some wine with that ehe”

jean comes by at some point with barbara to check on venti and co. they’ve got other foods and some hydro healing for venti’s partner <3

ohm comes over to see his friend and brings him some medicines, food and wine. he gets to witness the anemo god get all soft and squooshy for his s/o it’s so sweet

he uses anemo to entertain his partner with some gentle breezes playing through leaves <3 but he also plays his lyre for them and gives them smooches in between and during songs because he’s a god ofc he isn’t gonna get sick, pay the bard with kisses. and where’s his gratuity :( 😗

he doesn’t read to his s/o but he does tell them stories with a musical accompaniment. sometimes his partner will fall asleep so he just smiles so softly and tucks them in and continues playing his lyre at the window while they sleep <3

but also brushing his partner’s hair back and giving them a kiss on the forehead please i love my beloved kinnie

n e ways venti forehead smooches and playing the lyre for his s/o <3 no cough meds ehe, just dandelion wine and whatever ohm gave him (that was, in fact, the cough medicine)

scaramouche

bro this dude looks like he CANNOT be assed but he really cares <3<3

his work schedule doesn’t change but he’s going to his s/o’s home super often with soup and food and medicine and extra blankets

even to his partner, scara looks broody but he always looks like that LOL

tartaglia finds out where scara is going and he brings food and toys and stuff too <3 scara later has to read one of the kids books tartaglia brought and he refuses to voices but it’s very sweet anyway

scara probably asks sandrone if his doctor brother can get him some good cold medicine but would never admit that he asked ohm for help LOL. ohm shows up anyway and finds out <3

can and will cook soup but that’s all you’re getting from him. the takeout he brought is most definitely not something he made, no sir’am he would never do something as soft as cook for them. soup doesn’t count, it’s oboiling water with some added flavor, shut up tartagalicious he’s not soft

will give his partner kisses only after he thinks they’re asleep. refuses to give them any affection besides a headpat or two and maybe one hug when he shows real concern. his partner isn’t quite yet asleep one time and then feigns sleeping when they hear scara’s whispered “i love you” and he presses a kiss to their forehead 🥺❤️

he takes off his hat inside the house but will go around with a blanket around his shoulders to mock his partner smh. the blanket is on his head like a hood and he fake sniffles with an almost derisive laugh but he gives his partner a real smile at the end <3

9/10 times will never admit that he’s soft unless it’s a Very Serious Moment but he’s a squishy dood for his s/o and his s/o only

will not read or sing to his partner but he’ll sorta cuddle if they ask very nicely and many times. it’s just kind of him sitting next to them and they kind of have to muzzle before he’ll move his arm for his own comfort LMAO

will bring his partner gifts and food, a few flowers but he’ll just claim he’s delivering it from someone else with a look of fake disgust </3 maybe like two of those are actually from other ppl and not him

but u don’t wanna bother him, u HATE being a burden for anyone

u guys have become good friends since meeting each other through sam

u met sam at one of his group therapy sessions he ran at the VA in d.c.

and ended up befriending him and his cyborg buddy

u ended up moving to brooklyn, new york where a certain super soldier also happens to live

anyways ur terrified right

and bucky knows about this fear u have

and that sweet precious baby boy is just naturally protective of his friends as he was with steve

there might be other motivating factors with him being overprotective of u.,... *cough* like his crush on u *cough*

and bucky is in his own apartment reading the hobbit AGAIN when he hears the first clap of thunder and he already knows

he knows u must be terrified rn but ur too stubborn to reach out and ask for help or comfort

and without a second thought he’s grabbing his jacket and heading out the door to ur apartment

u live a couple blocks away, so bucky decides to make the journey by foot

also so he can buy ur favorite snacks on the way

when u hear a knock at ur door u jump bc ur already on edge with the thunderstorm going on

and at first u think it was just thunder so u ignore it

until u hear bucky’s calm voice

“y/n?” “it’s me bucky”

u freeze for a second bc u were DEFINITELY not expecting ur crush bucky to show up

u open the door to see bucky soaking wet from the rain

“yeah, so are u gonna invite me in or not?”

as u let him into ur apartment he reveals from under his jacket some of ur favorite snacks

ur able to collect urself while bucky goes to change and take a seat on ur couch, blanket wrapped around ur shoulders to protect u from the storm outside

bucky walks into ur living room while drying his hair with a towel

and u realize u could get used to this view

once u guys have settled and found ur spots on opposite ends of ur couch, ur about to break the silence when

BOOM

a huge clap of thunder goes off and u pull ur blanket over ur head

bucky hears ur quick breathing

and suddenly u feel his weight shift closer to u

then the weight of his arm around ur shoulders

bucky is still readjusting to civilian life but something like muscle memory kicks in from the times he would care for steve

“it’s okay y/n, i’m here” “ur not alone”

u pull the blanket back and bucky sees ur watery eyes and tear stains on ur checks

and this old man baby is so god damn in love with u

bc his heart breaks seeing u sad and scared like this

bucky says the same words he once said to steve

ur about to defend urself again when another boom of thunder goes off and ur body, almost instinctively, shoves itself into buckys chest

bucky moves his arm around ur shoulder to ur back, rubbing small circles

and he places his other hand on ur head pulling u closer to him, smoothing ur hair back over and over to help calm u

u guys have never been this close before and yet it doesn’t feel close enough for either of u

u can hear his soft hums and him telling u over and over that ur okay bc he’s here for u

eventually the storm settles down but u guys remain cuddled up on the couch

u pull ur head back from bucky’s chest and look up at him

bucky literally almost has the wind knocked out of him bc of how beautiful he thinks u are

“u wanna watch a movie?”

bucky smiles and nods before pulling u close to him again and leaving a gentle kiss on ur forehead, almost like he’s done it a million times before

neither of u expected that to happen and both of ur faces are bright red but luckily neither one of u can tell bc of the dim lighting in ur apartment

“i’m gonna go grab the snacks u brought”

u needed an excuse to leave before he could notice ur blushing

u guys settle in for a movie night, which u’ve had plenty before but never snuggled up like this

ur legs are on bucky’s lap and his left arm is wrapped around ur shoulder while his right arm rests on ur legs

neither of u are paying attention to the movie bc ur both too focused on how the other person’s body feels so close to urs

after debating urself in ur head for 20 minutes u muster up enough courage to grab his hand and hold it in urs

bucky freezes and then turns to look at u

u smile with rosy cheeks back as u look into his steel blue eyes

“thank u for today”

bucky is now beet red (shy baby boy!!!) with a soft smile on his face

“i’ll always be here for u, anything at all”

u give him a soft kiss on the cheek and u pull back only to feel bucky’s metal hand pull u back in

this time for a kith on the lips!!!!!!

it’s a soft, light kiss

when he pulls back he instantly feels like he misread some signal or something (shy bucky🥺) and immediately starts to profusely apologize

“i’m- i’m so sorry was that okay?? i should have asked u first—“

“bucky, BUCKY!”

u take both of ur hands and cup his face

“that was more than okay”

u smile at him and bucky could feel his head spinning bc ur just the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen

how could it be? the boy is so full of energy and excitement

there’s never a dull moment even in the quieter times

linking pinkies, an arm around your shoulder as you walk the streets around the barrel - mainly to show people you're taken by him, but jesper doesn't like to admit to his jealousy

can and will pepper your entire face in kisses

it's extremely likely that he's taller than you, so please be ready for him to rest his chin on your head at any and all times

always goes to you for comfort. jesper often feels like he has to keep up his reputation of being the funny, eccentric one, so he's glad he can let his walls down around you

if you trace shapes on this man's back or arms whilst he sleeps, he'll likely propose to you on the spot

jesper is extremely hesitant to let you join the crows on heists, because if you get hurt, he'll never forgive himself

you bring up the fact that you're in the same boat, letting him run off doing stupid, highly dangerous things whilst you wait for him to return in one piece

he agrees - very reluctantly - but makes sure you can protect yourself enough first, and makes sure kaz never lets you be alone at any point of the plan

if you ever get injured, jesper will lose it

he'll try to bandage you up right in the middle of the heist if he has to, grabbing nina and asking her to help as best she can

this boy is just hopelessly in love with you and everyone can see it okay

I swear to god I just see MC taking them their Blanc/Rouge and being like “here you go sir, one enslaved moisture” and they just go fucking hog wild from day one. MC starts impersonating Theo when he leaves the room around Dazai, like fake deep voice “you all only hate me because you do not like me and I am mean to you. grow up.” Or like the MC meets a baby on her travels with Leo around town and she holds them and says v seriously and sagely “So you are Baby? I have heard tales of your exploits.” and Leo about loses his shit right there. They both think MC is the funniest person alive--they’ve never been more eager to throw a ring at someone in their entire life.

Also a bonus for my beloved Dazai: MC, facing even the slightest inconvenience (like dropping her fork) in the most dramtic voice possible: Life is not daijoubu. Dazai: wheezing

MC, after watching Theo turn down a woman at the bar in the meanest way possible: bro quit letting the darkness consume you u r scaring the hoes Dazai, literally rolling around on the ground, half-drunk and dying:

Dazai’s expecting some sad or twisted shit, since people often feel comfortable talking about those things around him, but instead she just: “Oh, it’s you. At this point don’t be surprised if his next book is about an absolute madlad woman similar to MC

Napoleon finds it to be a delightful quirk more than anything? He doesn’t really understand it, but he finds it funny when they change their voice for effect or speak in exaggerated tones. If it’s just comprehensible enough for an outsider to understand--or Sebas gives him context--chances are it’ll send him into a laughing fit

For this one I just imagine MC singing that Ratatouille meme song obnoxiously bad while cooking, and Napoleon and Comte are just so wildly amused by it bc it makes zero sense and it’s only vaguely French at this point

MC, conflicted because she’s tired and wanted to sleep in but also got to see Napo’s cute sleeping face for a few hours: For my next stunt, I’ll wake up at 5AM on the day I can sleep in. Isaac is the type to be bewildered and concerned at first (especially when he hears the more nihilistic ones hoOOOoooOO BOY) but eventually begins to understand it’s some bizarre attempt at humor (that hurts Zack baby). While some part of him laments that it reminds him of Dazai and he’s secretly jealous of how she and Dazai bond over it, he will sometimes join in the chaos when the mood strikes him and he’s feeling mischievous

Isaac: How are you feeling? MC: Oh, I’m not Isaac: seconds from dialing 911 Isaac: Are you okay? MC: Oh yeah dw I just suffer from that syndrome where your neutral expression makes you look like you’re an angry serial killer Isaac: say sike rn

Isaac, tutoring MC and correcting something: MC, muttering while redoing it: The risk I took was calculated, but man am I bad at math. Isaac: unable to help a laugh

One time MC was avoiding Isaac for fear of hurting his feelings and he just confronts her like: Isaac: back by unpopular demand, me! What’s wrong, MC pls MC was so hecking proud of him

Isaac, telling MC about a recent discovery he learned at uni from another professor: bones typically heal stronger after they’ve been broken--so long as they’re set properly, of course MC, looking him dead in the eyes: So what you’re saying is that I should break every bone in my body until I become superhumanly powerful? Mozart and Jeanne are just. Totally lost. Why are you talking like that??? Why are you making “crab hands”???? They don’t understand. Maybe never will. They reach a point where they just kind of laugh and shake their heads, endeared by the oddity after they’re used to it and have determined it isn’t a threat/insult.

MC: It’s a cold and it’s a brooooken, Waluigi. Waaaaluigiiiii...waaaahluigi..... Mozart: surprised, then starts snickering and playing along on the piano

Arthur, asking MC very personal questions out loud because he is an idiot sometimes: Soooo MC, are you a top or a bottom? MC: I’m a threat. (If he asks a second time, the response will be “Wouldn’t you like to know, weatherboy.”) Jeanne, fighting a smile:

Also, because I genuinely can’t help myself. You know that knight meme like “Parry this you fucking casual.” I cannot stress enough that it is literally the personification of Jeanne’s entire character. I’m not even joking.

Arthur and Shakespeare are utterly fascinated by the rapid evolution of wordplay and the sheer hilarity. They will ask all about these so-called “memes” and ask for examples of them if MC can show them (either somehow accessing her phone or drawing them). MC draws Arthur the knife cat meme and he about a s c e n d s at the hilarity of it all, points and yells THEO IS HOLDING THE KNIFE. He is correct. They will be delighted and follow along eagerly, and--god forbid--will make their own based on late 19th century struggles.

Is this where Shakespeare got the idea for “What, you egg? stabs him” and “You are a saucy boy.”? I’m too scared to ask. Don’t even get me started on “The Fool jingled miserably across the floor.” That one is just too on the nose...

I can’t even imagine what would happen to Shakespeare if MC like translated vines and memes into Ye Olde English around him. Imagine she’s at one of those noble balls and hears rumors of these two guys living together and they’re so obviously gay and he says “And those gents w’re roommates.” And in the most false surprised tone ever MC just replies “oh mine own god, those gents w’re roommates.” Imagine having a wife that’s just as hilarious as you are and hits you with all the force of a bag of wet mice every time you speak in retaliation, he’s going into palpitations.

Every time Arthur does smth stupid MC just: “I Pretend I Do Not See It.”

Vincent is tickled pink by MC’s penchant for finding joy and/or amusement in nearly everything they do, and he smiles gently when he sees them muttering and laughing to themselves. He wants to be able to join them in what they love, but he has a harder time following along and understanding the darker humor sometimes. Mostly gets confused??? Please give him the easier ones to mimic and laugh when he tries--or just include him in your jokes MC. He’s babie your honor...

But he also. Will not. Stand any kind of self-deprecation or borderline verbal self-harm. He’s usually very easygoing and calm, but for whatever reason that stuff makes him go deathly quiet and upset.

MC, after something goes horribly wrong, hugging Vincent: Oh Vince, we really in it now Vincent: giggling a little despite his worries, relaxing

MC: Theo stop simping for Vincent that’s my job

MC, when Theo leaves the room and she gets Vincent all to herself: The evil is defeated.

Theo is conflicted because on the one hand, he loves to see you smiling and having fun. On the other, you’re clowning as hard as Dazai and Arthur and he can only handle so many monkeys in his circus. Most of the time he will roll his eyes and be the straight man of this comedy, but you might find him cracking a smile--or accidentally letting a chuckle slip past his lips now and again.

MC, after meeting Theo: I’m a nice person, but I’m about to start throwing rocks at people.

Sebastian is last because oh boy. OH BOYYYYY I LOVE HIM. Okay so the way I see this happening with Sebastian is just. So wild. Because at first he’s t r y i n g so hard to be the proper butler man. He does not meme. But then he starts to drift closer to what Niles from The Nanny was, where he’ll quip and joke in private or when the situation is just beyond the amount of absurdity he can handle without making a snarky comment. Everyone in the house can’t fathom how Sebas and MC got so close so fast, but there are points where they’re just “Are they even speaking English anymore???” It’s 11 times funnier than normal because Sebas almost never smiles or laughs when memeing, the deadpan quality of his playing along sends MC every time

Has ABSOLUTELY said “HEY. PANINI HEAD. ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME???” jokingly when MC made a mistake in the kitchen. They laugh about it for y e a r s

MC: I can’t date someone who keeps a lamb as a pet, that’s so weird Sebas, brushing Lotte in front of MC: MC: MC: Okay, I will make an exception because she looks very polite

MC and Sebas, fully aware of the fame some of the men will reach in modern times: We will watch your career with great interest. (I s2g that’s like half of Sebas’ rt right there I’m crying)
