The taxi glided to a stop in front of the Plaza Hotel. A bellman opened the door before the passenger finished paying the driver. With a quick thanks the passenger exited the taxi, squinting in the early afternoon sunshine, nodding a hello at the bellman and his top hat.
Quietly the man entered the hotel and crossed the lobby.
“Hello,” he greeted the woman standing behind the Guest Services desk. “I’m here to see Colum Laird.”
“Certainly. Your name, sir?”
The man pulled a business card from the breast pocket of his blazer.

“One moment, please.” The woman dialed a string of digits, speaking softly into the phone.
Raymond waited, glancing around the lobby. A cluster of photographers sat, bored, around a side table. Several young men and women with spiky hair and leather jackets stood in another corner, some clutching record albums and permanent markers. Two women in low cut dresses primped in front of their hand mirrors.
“Dr. Germain? Mr. Laird is ready to see you. Please follow my colleague.”
A man, dressed in a smart suit, appeared seemingly out of the wall. “Right this way, sir.”
Raymond followed him across the lobby, through a set of double doors marked STAFF ONLY, and into an elevator bank.
“The band has booked the entire northwest corner of the sixteenth floor,” the man explained. “It’s configured in such a way to provide total privacy. This elevator is the only way to get up there.”
“I see.” Raymond shifted on his feet, sliding his hands into the pockets of his slacks. “How long have they been staying here?”
The elevator arrived, and the man gestured for Raymond to enter. “Three nights so far. From what I understand, they’ve played two sellouts at Madison Square Garden. With the final show tonight.”
The man pressed 16, and the doors slid shut.
“How have they been as guests?”
The man smiled. “It’s hotel policy to not comment on any guest who stays here. But what I will tell you, is that it’s much more sedate than the last time they stayed with us, in ’86. The entire fifteenth floor had to be re-carpeted.”
The doors opened onto a hallway. A short, middle-aged man with shoulder-length graying hair stood in the elevator lobby. A dozen doors trailed away in the corridor behind him.
“Dr. Germain.” He extended a hand in greeting. “Welcome.”
“Mr. Laird. Colum. Call me Raymond, please. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
The elevator doors slid shut, leaving Colum and Raymond in the hallway.
“Well, Raymond – thank you for coming. I know getting up here is a bit unorthodox – but it’s the only way to ensure total privacy. Things have been a bit of a zoo this summer.”
Raymond smiled kindly. “I truly can’t imagine.”
Colum sighed, wiping his eyes. “Fortunately it’s been a bit of a quiet morning. The band and the crew are pretty exhausted.”
A crash from behind the closest door. Followed by a man’s voice, and a woman’s high-pitched giggle.
Colum smiled tightly. “Pay no attention to Angus. His only vice is women - he’s had a menage-a-trois going all tour.”
“I see,” Raymond remarked quietly. Not quite seeing at all.
Colum coughed. “Anyway, let me take you down the hall. They’re waiting.”
Dougal MacKenzie had not provided many specifics about Jamie and Claire Fraser. The broad strokes, of course – that both had been patients at The Ridge last year; that his addictions were alcohol and cocaine and women and hers were pills; that they had been married less than two months. That she was a surgeon.
Oh, and that he was the singer, guitarist, and chief songwriter of just about the biggest rock band in the world.
Raymond hadn’t a clue about Jamie’s music. But Dougal had said it wouldn’t matter. And in more than ten years of knowing each other, Dougal had proved to have impeccable instincts.
Colum knocked on the final door in the hallway. Muffled voices – and then a beautiful woman opened the door.
“You must be Dr. Germain.” She extended a warm hand in greeting. “Pleasure to meet you. I’m Claire Fraser.”
Raymond took her hand between both of his. “Raymond. And the pleasure is all mine, Dr. Fraser.”
She smiled kindly, surprised. “Claire, please.” She tilted her head, just a bit. “Have we met before?”
Raymond returned her smile. “I don’t think so. I’m sure I would remember.”
Colum quietly stepped away and padded down the hallway.
Claire gestured behind her. “Please do come in.”

Trembling Essence [Extended Demo]:💙Quality of life progress finished💙
Hello and welcome new followers! I've been focused on the quality of life changes I discussed in my last two update posts. :]
Happy one month of the [Extended Demo] being released! Yay! Thank you to everyone that has been patient and supported this! :,]

Here's the finished endings collection gallery! I enjoyed the process and learned a lot from this. I can't wait to implement what I've learned in other places within the game! :,]
When you load up the game you just have to click on each tab to see your progress. If it's greyed out that means you haven't earned it yet and if you do, it'll have color and a "+" added to it! I also changed the hue's compared to how it looked last week. :]
I also discovered there's actually 12* Bad Endings and not 13. At some point during development a Bad Ending was turned into a Neutral Ending and I accidently forgot to change that. :S
The game page will be adjusted to indicate this now:
12 Bad endings
6 Neutral endings
6 endings that continue the rest of the Day 3
For those that are new or have been here for some time, entering the cabin with Noah starts Day 3 due to the player(Y/N) being lost in the terrain for 2 and a half days which Noah mentions. Sometimes this can get confusing since some consider it Day 1 while the game considers it Day 3.
I added a notification tab in the upper left corner and moved it slightly to the right so it wouldn't overlap the player(Y/N)'s HP bar. This is meant to show what day it is in the game to resolve confusion. Once you enter the cabin with Noah it starts Day 3. :]

hello!! i am pretty new to tumblr so still finding my way around, and part of my current project was going to be looking into fandom space to see how some of the word of mouth and online space mimics oral storytelling. i am especially looking at villains in arthuriana and fan interpretations and headcanons for this, so any advice of where to look hereabouts would be really lovely!! ty for your time and hope you have a great day!!

Honestly I'm at a bit of a loss where to even begin. The scope of Arthuriana and what constitutes a "villain" is so vast. There are the obvious Black Knights and usurping nephews, but even those characters have more than their fair share of morally gray/nuanced portrayals depending on where you look. Medieval literature in and of itself was varied even before we get into modern interpretations and the far reaching corners of fandom. I think in regards to this, it might help to narrow your scope to specific "villainous" characters—Morgan le Fay, Sir Mordred, False Guinevere, Sir Meleagant, and the mysterious Knights of Green and Red and Black.
There's also the matter of where you intend to make the cut off. What constitutes "canon" character interpretation? Where does "canon" end and fan extrapolation begin? To my mind, personally, anything after the Middle Ages falls into the "modern" category, which would include Alfred Lord Tennyson's The Idylls of The King on our end of the divide. Speaking for myself, I don't devalue any interpretation based solely on the era of it's inception. If Sir Thomas Malory wrote in Le Morte d'Arthur that Sir Gareth married Lyonesse, then it is so. But when Tennyson claims that, no, Sir Gareth married the Savage Damosel Linet, then he is also correct. Each iteration is it's own self-contained world and anything is possible within that framework. So it is for "villains," as well.
But that said, the beauty of Arthuriana is that each new addition to the literary tradition (and I include films, TV shows, video games, comics, and every other conceivable medium) builds on what came before. I don't necessarily enjoy or recommend them all, but there's definitely a connection from one retelling to the next. In John Boorman's Excalibur (1981), Percival is first revealed as a strange boy wandering the forest who happens upon Lancelot sleeping. Percival is captivated by him. He endears himself to the knight by waking him with the smell of meat he hunted and roasted especially for him. From there, he's brought back to Camelot to begin working under Kay in the kitchens and eventually rises to knighthood. When I first saw this, I was elated. "It's just like in The Adventures of Sir Lancelot!" Go back thirty more years. In The Adventures of Sir Lancelot (1956-1957), there's a character named Brian, a kitchen boy. After Lancelot helps end the siege that was threatening the castle Brian worked at, he begins following Lancelot around, and one morning, cooks breakfast for the knight. By the end of the episode, Lancelot has all but adopted him, and enrolls him in lessons to begin his squiredom, and eventually, achieve knighthood. Sound familiar?
Could it be that John Boorman, as a child, watched The Adventures of Sir Lancelot, saw what they did with their Brian/Gareth hybrid, and said, "I like that idea, I think I'll use it for Percival." To me, Boorman drawing on that 50s show for his own work is no different than Tennyson building on what Malory had done, who in his own turn wrote from the Post Vulgate.
Now we come to the present day. Bloggers share these stories. We quote the texts. I stream movies and TV shows every weekend in the Arthurian Theater Server. We make connections from one creation to the next. You can see the web of inspirations all interconnecting. Then we branch off into our own new interpretations based on the foundations of these creations that came before. I don't know how popular an opinion this is, but I think that goes beyond "head canon," because there is no canon. Arthuriana is a continuously flowing font made up of tiny beads of details. The stories can only function with the existence of the others. It's not derivative in the same sense as one drawing a little too heavily from their favorite childhood fantasy novel. This tradition dates back hundreds of years. We're just continuing it with the technology of our time.
You want to focus on "villains." But I wonder—Is Morgan le Fay's character beholden to a specific source? How do we determine what that is? If one chooses to write Morgan le Fay sympathetically, or even outright benevolent, is she still a "villain?" Is she still Morgan le Fay? Personally, I think we should respect what came before us, and consider how that impacts the new addition we intend to create. Change Morgan too much and she ceases to be recognizable as Morgan, and I'm here to read about Morgan! I think it's important to maintain the same resonance which has kept us interested for so many centuries. And yet the basis for sweeping changes is all around us. Just as Morgan plotted to kill Arthur and seize his throne, she also rode by his side in the boat to Avalon, where he sleeps still. The range of possibilities is vast beyond imagination. So go wild and get creative, I'm not your mom.

I present to you my 1st Writing Challenge!
The theme is inspired by me, clearly :) I'll list below the fortnight challenge I intend to follow for July. The idea is for me to post a scenario, either a short blurb or a longer one-shot with each prompt for two weeks straight (11—25), giving me some time to work on other things if I want to, but I may not be able to do all of them.
If you want to write any of these, I'll be honored to read them on the day of the Challenge. Tag me with #nightskychallenge and I will read and share them. The settings for (almost!) all of them will be my realm: the night. Any characters are welcome, any amount (or lack of; smut writers, gimme your all, too) plot, as well as a range: if you want to write something platonic, friendly, enemies to lovers, just enemies, long lost lovers—everything is on the table.
The prompt is given to you in bold (i.e. The Night I said 'I love you first'), and in brackets, I added a sentence prompt (i.e. ["I can't believe you said it first. Of course you would."] that you may or may not use. It's up to you.

Hello there! Please, call me Nimue. I’m 22 years old and German (English is my second anguage). I am on the aromantic spectrum. I am genderfluid and thus what I identify as will shift on a whim. Please ask me for pronouns and what gendered terms I'm fine with at the moment! Or use They/Them and do not gender if you want to play it safe all the time. Due to this I also prefer to not label my sexuality (not like I know what to call it anyways).

Selfship Stuff
Overhaul? Yes. But I try to be a bit more careful with f/os nowadays so a lot are pending. I mainly focus on Ensemble Stars and Hypnosis Mic tho, so expect me to gush about them the most. I mostly post about Fling Posse at the moment. I love all of my f/os though!
"Shipped with s/i" means that I ship them with my s/i but I do not consider them f/os! I just enjoy the ship dynamics. Thus these ships are not personal to me by any means and I would not rank them as my partners due to a lack of feelings for them.
There are also a few f/os who are a bit complicated due to past circumstances (I rather not talk about it). Once I recovered and sorted my feelings I add them to the other rows especially Romani Archaman, I love him so much and want to decleare him my boyfriend again you have no idea... However long that will be. I love them though and plan to add and gush about them eventually once I moved on from the situation! I just don't know when that will be...
Iffy sharing Fling Posse (Ramuda, Gentaro, Dice), Henry (FE) and Blaze romantically (except with my friends). I will not block you but I might block your tag (if possible) or not follow back and/or interact with your posts (related to that f/o) if possible. I will also do it if we share f/os you feel uncomfortable sharing with. If I miss it though, I apologize. Just notify me if I do! If I follow you first (or reblogged something from you before) or if we already know each other from another platform, we are good though. I'm fine sharing everyone else though!
My top secret f/os are f/os I keep a secret for own reasons and at most I will vague post about them in public (if ever). I talk about them in private though and publish fanfics about them elsewhere. There is a chance I open up about them one day but no gurantee (I doubt it matters since none of them are f/os I often write about as of now). I am fine sharing them though!

I already did two masterposts and intros to my blog, but I thought, why not make another one, now, the theme of the blog has changed.

My name is Mimi (she/her) and I’m 24 years old. I am a computer science student in Germany, planning on becoming a software engineer and a web developer.
My main interests are all around writing, self-care and lifestyle. Cozy vibes and some good, positive mindsets is perfect for me.

Hello everyone
Lots of new people joining us here in the last 24 hours... I am assuming from Twitter? Welcome to my little corner!
Honestly though, I am leaning toward Twitter not going anywhere, however, it might be a little different over there eventually. I guess we’ll see how it all shakes out after this weekend/week when they turn the lights back on in their corporate headquarters.
Here in my space, I will sometimes talk about BTS news and often highlight Jimin and Jungkook but I do talk about all the members. I will not cover every miniscule bit of news and I am not very timely sometimes. There are other blogs who do that better than I do.
I usually just blab about inconsequential things, my observations or musings or just frivolous things just because I can.
Jimin is my first bias. Jungkook is my second bias and my spirit animal dude. I have strong feelings for Yoongi. I love Hobi. Namjoon is very relatable to me. Jin has captured my heart via The Astronaut and Tae is a little rascal.
If you are totally new to Tumblr, it can be a frustrating, non-intuitive little app/website...here are some tips:
Depending on the device you are using, touch/click a Tumblr user’s name to see their “home page.” If you are using the Tumblr website, touch the 3 dots in a circle to see those options. You can follow/unfollow, get notifications, view that blogger’s archived posts amongst other things.
If you are on a small device/phone and want to access those options, touch that little “person” icon in the top right corner.
Tumblr has a feature called “Ask me Anything” and if the account you follow has this turned on, you can send in a question or a rant or whatever. Then that account can choose to answer or post your question. A lot of times, the blogger will have the anonymous feature turned on and you can ask/rant anonymously.
Personally, I will answer some asks but not all. I do not delve into shipping wars/dynamics. I am not a shipper. I don’t analyze every touch or glance between Jimin and Jungkook. I am a jikook lover/supporter and I sometimes talk about that but I don’t address every little concern/insecurity that some people tend to fall into. There tends to be a lot of drama in that area and I really am not into drama though if you go through my archived posts, you can see I have felt the need to offer my perspective here and there occasionally. There are other bloggers who answer every ask more consistently than I do.
But I do read everything you send in, even if you just need to say something into the void, know that I am seeing and listening. If I feel like you have a legit thing I can address, I might. More often though, I might see the humor in what you are saying and run with it... we are here to have fun, so don’t take it personally.
If you really want to talk about something and keep it off the public blog, then send me a DM and I will be happy to talk to you but I also have a day job so I might not reply right away. To send me or another blogger a private direct message touch/click that little chat bubble with the + sign.
I love each and every one of you and I hope the troubles at Twitter are not stressing you out too badly. BTS stan twt is a huge community and has made it possible for all of us to connect with each other, communicate the latest news, support BTS as a group as well as the individual members, and each other for so many years. Hopefully it will all settle down very soon.

Trembling Essence [Extended Demo]:💙Quality of life changes + Q&A.💙
Hello and welcome new followers! To show my appreciation for all the support I've received again, here's one of the Valentines Day concept drawings finished! A big thank you to everyone that has continued supporting this through a like, re-blog, fanart, comment, tip jar, share, etc. :,]
I wasn't expecting it to take as long as it did but I'm very happy with the result and how much I've been improving! I'm not too good at drawing angled faces so being able to get it to look just right made me very happy! :,]
I still have this one to go so hopefully at some point I'll have it done!
Quality of life changes:
*Please note that these changes aren't in the [Extended Demo] yet! It'll be something for me to work on adding and I'll let it be known in a update post!
Now that it's been two weeks of the [Extended Demo] being released, It's time to go over some changes to help the player out when going through the game!
I noticed from comments and playthrough's that certain Bad endings/Neutral story progressions were difficult to find, especially the full afternoon route. I don't want players to feel burnt out from trying to search for everything.
I want to add a check-list menu that shows all the Bad/Neutral endings you can get while playing so it's easier to navigate the game.
2. For those that are new or have been here for some time, entering the cabin with Noah starts Day 3 due to the player(Y/N) being lost in the terrain for 2 and a half days which Noah mentions. Sometimes this can get confusing since some consider it Day 1 while the game considers it Day 3.
It's still up in the air about how I'm going to go on about this but I'm thinking about adding a little notification tab in the upper left corner of the game to notify the player(Y/N) of what day it is in the game to resolve confusion.
3. I talked about this last week but I didn't know until recently that the tags I use for Trembling Essence were very unorganized and hard to search through.
I went through and tried my best to re-organize all of the lore and art about Noah/game posts. I also cleaned up the #Trembling Essence tag since it was flooded with game development posts and not much else.
I'm also working on a master post and plan on creating some reference sheets of Noah which will be placed under a different tag! :]
#Get to know: Noah : This will be filled with answered asks and lore dump. Sometimes(?) there's random dev-logs that have lore attached to them too.
#TE Updates : This only includes dev-logs/updates about the game and development progress.
#Trembling Essence : This tag is mainly used to post fan art / art and anything else in general that might belong here which includes lore posts. I really want searching through the tag to be enjoyable and not filled with a bunch of dev-logs.

Hi, hello all of you new followers! It's awesome to see you guys, welcome to my little corner tungl. There's a whole 1,500 of you guys now! holy shit!
Did you know I post spoilery snippets in my Discord? Different from the ones I post here AND on Patreon! (Patreon gets larger snippets and more behind the scenes access, but Discord gets some tasty things, too!) Discord goers will also get early access to updates to my games starting with the next update that comes out, after Patreon gets a full day ahead. (Patreon: 1 day full access beforehand, Discord then gets ~12 hours or so after Patreon's day is over, then it is announced publicly!) Yes, I have a tendency to drone on about boring things there sometimes, but Discord does get some interesting perks for just simply being a member!
Did you also know that I have a Linktr.ee that has all kinds of useful links off-site? HELLO!
Hi, there everyone! I’m Quiet Whispers of Affection (but you can just call me Abby!) At the moment I am new to Tumblr but I have been reading fanfiction off of it for some time now. I have always wanted to create my little corner where people can pop in and have a nice time reading without any huge form of commitment or difficulty. I mostly write fanfiction about anime and manga characters (if you haven’t noticed that already heh heh) but I am also open to writing for fandoms like Marvel.
A little about me!
I am someone who loves writing and reading, as well as gaming. MBTI is ISTP and mm STRONG is ARC. I have raging ADHD but I am not a hyper individual. If I’m not in lectures or at work I often am playing Assassin’s Creed or Genshin Impact (I know I can hear the groans from here haha). I am an English Major with a minor in Japanese Studies and one day I hope to live in Japan and become an English teacher for children in primary school. I hope that I can be a positive role model and help guide children to their desired dreams. I am non-binary and thus my pronouns are they/them. I am also pansexual but these aspects of my life do not entirely matter to you all, it is just purely informative. I often enjoy writing dark romance or fluffy stories, there is often no in-between. It often takes me a long time to come up with a story so I will spend a lot of time brainstorming and going through multiple drafts. I am always someone looking to improve every day so constructive criticism is something I take very seriously.
My mindset is, “I want poeple to absolutely tear into my work and tell me everything that can be improved or things I did wrong.”
I am not someone who will be able to keep up steady uploads of my work here, unfortunately. I am a very busy individual but I will try to upload at least every month with the pieces of writing I think are the best. (I have many stories that I have made over the years so I will never run out of something to upload).
I can say with confidence that I was not expecting people to like my posts so much within a week or two. That came as a surprise to me but not one that was ill-received. I can not thank you all enough for liking my posts and following me, I have so much gratitude for all of you. This has been a secret dream of mine for so long and seeing it flourish before my eyes has brightned my days.
Mayhaps as I continue here, I will make monthly check-ins on how the page is going and thanking everyone for their support because I very much mean it when I say I am grateful.
Anyways, I hope you all continue to love my work, and if you are new here, I entend a warm welcome. I want this to be a safe place where everyone can enjoy fanfiction in peace. (I apologize for this being so long. Another thing about me: I word vomit!!)

Sprites
LI2′s sprite is done and I will be posting it on Friday as that’s when I queue my posts for! If you’d like you can check him out earlier on the itch.io devlog, and add the game to your wish list while you’re at it ;)
I’m currently working on the LAST main character sprite, the third love interest. I expect to finish him by early next week. My next post might be a schedule update, because I am way ahead of schedule!
Writing
Writing has commenced! I have 3/30 scenes drafted for the demo. I plan on writing 1 a day. With break days and such, I expect to easily be done by the end of October as planned.
Here is a sneak peek of Lune’s first scene! And also a little look into how some of the personality stats will work. This is one variation of the scene, there are two more that spawn from different choices. I’m writing this from the perspective of a male Terra using he/him pronouns.
"This is my kingdom, he does not get to decide what is {i}best{/i} for it."
"I shove the letter toward my advisor, who stands beside my large cherry wood desk."
terra "Can you believe this...this nonsense? He's threatening war if I don't marry him?"
lune "The offer bears consideration, Your Highness."
terra "Consideration? Marry a man I've never met and relinquish control over my kingdom?"
terra "I think not."
"I stand, anger making me restless."
lune "Then you believe war is the better option?"
terra "The people will not survive a war. We are not--"
"As I stomp toward the window, I bang my thigh against the corner of my desk."
tune "Mother Neptune!"
l "Language, Your Highness."
"I rub my thigh through my pants, taking in a deep breath and limp hopping the rest of the way to the window."
terra "{i}We are not prepared.{/i} The general agrees with me."
"I shoo the falcon away, needing time to collect my thoughts without it staring at me."
terra "Go fill your belly, I will give you your response later."
"It lifts its head imperiously but spreads its wings and obediently leaps off the sill."
"Outside, I see storm clouds rolling in from the East. It feels all too appropriate."
lune "If he is so sure of his own incompetence then I will not argue."
lune "But your father chose him to lead the army because had had faith in his ability to prepare him for moments like this."
"When I turn, Lune is standing precisely where he has been this entire time."
"The expression on his face is as calm and unaffected as it always is, like we're not talking about the future of Laute as we know it."
terra "Will you stop looking at me like that?"
lune "And how am I looking at you?"
terra "Like you don't care at all. A war would affect all of us. Thousands could die. You could die."
terra "And if I leave Laute to marry King Aalam, who will rule in my stead and ensure the peace treaty is upheld?"
terra "You might have to take the throne!"
terra "And you're just standing there as if I'm discussing last night's play."
lune "I simply have a better hold over my emotions. If I were you, I would endeavor to do so as well."
lune "If the people see a panicked King then they're going to panic too."
lune "And we wouldn't want to cause a panic, now would we?"
"I scoff at his condescending tone."
terra "Yes yes, you're right, I'm wrong, as per usual."
Conclusion
We are on track to make a great product folks! I can’t wait to share more with you. Once I finish the last sprite I’m going to start working on the UI and making the itch page/tumblr pretty with some artwork.
