it never fails. 100% of the time I complain about a weird reading compulsion like "God I read a book for an hour before work and then I compulsively needed to finish it so I sat in my car after work for two hours dirty, dehydrated, and hungry" someone is like "oh I wish I could read that fast" like I will.... fucking trade you

Just learned that hyperlexia can have a flip side. You can read at much higher levels much earlier than your peers, but actual comprehension of the content is worse.
Is that why I forget what happens in every book I read so easily? I don't remember any specific scenes or lines, just vibes. idk
I was told I'm hyperlexic bc I started reading so early but it was treated as a cool power or something lol

assumption: you were an avid reader and/or a notebook doodler as a kid, and people find you very trustworthy/dependable irl
hi joey of course I was an avid reader and notebook doodler as a child, I started that particular trajectory early!!
I think I'm trustworthy and dependable also, I'm always the person who other people expect to know what's going on and be on top of things and I would simply never betray a person's trust <3

Absolutely painful flashbacks today.
I’m never sure how hard to work. Be lazy, get crap. Do well, get called out as mean. Show skills, get called a manipulative girlboss.
Challenge myself, be told I’m no fun. Withdraw from people, I’m a jerk.
Ask people why they think I should live. Be told that’s a “complicated” thing to think about

My Headcanon Crafts for the House of Feanor:
Nerdanel: a sculptor; about the best in all of Valinor. Many of her early sculptures were praised, but also seen as a bit strange because they looked so real, but no one could identify any model they'd been based off of. Later, it would be recognized that she'd sculpted several of her own children, long before they were born.
Maedhros: an actor. Back in Valinor, he often played romantic leads in comedies and tragedies alike. He was very dramatic back in the years of trees, but got more subdued in Middle-Earth for... obvious reasons. A few of the posters for plays he was in made their way to Middle-Earth and got passed around Himring like contraband.
Maglor: a bard. While he often composed his own songs, he was also one of those charged with memorizing the old oral history of the Quendi– the elven equivalent of like, being able to memorize and recite the Iliad. Much of this early Elvish history was almost lost by the end of the First Age, and Maglor attempted to preserve it by writing it down. Eventually, those books ended up saved in Rivendell's library.
Celegorm: a hunter in Orome's train. Was famous for his ability to hit quickly moving targets through the thick forests of Valinor, even when mounted. He also enjoyed making various things out of the pelts, teeth, claws, and antlers of his kills. He's made very nice fur coats for several of his siblings and cousins.
Caranthir: a fiber artist; mostly focusing on weaving and embroidery. He's not sure whether to feel flattered or vaguely worried by all the Miriel comparisons. He insisted on making most of his family's formal clothing because all of Feanor's kids can get at least a little craft-related hubris. As a treat.
Curufin: a smith. His father was most famous for his jewelry, but Curufin would come to be known mostly for his weapons. They were so reliable that many of them lasted until the Third Age. There are rumors he poured some of his soul into the weapons he made for his brothers. But those are only rumors.
Amras & Amrod: painters. They specialized in incredibly detailed landscape paintings. I say "they" because all their works were done together; Amrod would make the sketch and darker linework and Amras would add the colors and shading. Their work was often very nostalgic and peaceful, with bright watercolors and gentle shadows.
Bonus! Feanor saved a lot of his kids' work from when they were really young and just starting their crafts. It's all what you'd expect from a small child's art, but Feanor still acts like they're masterpieces. His kids all think it's super embarrassing but he's really proud of them.
Headcanons for Finwe and his Children, the House of Fingolfin, the House of Finarfin, and the rest of the House of Finwe. Thanks for asking about Finwe's grandkids @hyperlexia-1 :)

I'm autistic and I love making lists. I also hope it may help spread awareness about neurodivergent people!
I am not an expert. But I do believe that we should be careful to include people in the neurodivergent umbrella. We are stronger together.

Autistic Spencer Reid
Happy Autism Acceptance Month, everyone! By request, my wonderful friends and I have taken on the daunting task of documenting the reasons why Spencer Reid is considered Autistic. Big thank you to you @spencer-reids-adventures and @foxy-eva specifically for their help. We hope everyone enjoys! This is not an exhaustive list.
Tumblr media
Stimming/Self-Stimulatory behavior, including rocking/spinning in his chair, twiddling with his fingers, gripping sheets, bouncing his legs, biting his lip/tongue, rubbing his eyes, spinning pens, pacing (e.g., S6E12 "Corazon")
Averse to touch, dislikes hugs (S7E13 "Snake Eyes" & S11E11 "Entropy")
Explains multiple attempts at masking, including "being more conversational," (S2E19 "Ashes and Dust"), scripting conversation (S15E4 "Saturdays"), saying what people want to hear (S6E20 "Hanley Waters")
Verbosity - Difficulty recognizing when he's talking too much/speaking at inappropriate times (e.g., S1E16 "The Tribe" & S10E16 "Lockdown")
Began studying behavioral science to understand behavior that made him frustrated/confused (S11E22 "The Storm")
Averse to hosting/hanging out in his space; didn't invite his friends to his apartment for over 15 years (S15E9 "Face Off")
The only team member capable of proficient communication with other Autistic people (S6E16 "Coda" & S11E22 "The Storm")
He is referred to as Autistic by multiple characters, including a literal profiler, and does not deny or question it (S1E5 "Broken Mirror" & S8E3 "Through the Looking Glass")
Lack of social awareness, such as focusing on a convention while at a workplace shooter crime scene (S7E3 "Dorado Falls")
Various special interests, like Doctor Who (S6E16 "Coda" & S7E23 "Hit")
Literal thinking, such as focusing on scientific accuracy of a star-based fable (S5E13 "Risky Business")
Difficulty recognizing common phrases, such as the "sitting in a tree" song (S3E14 "Damaged") or jokes (S7E9 "Self-Fulfilling Prophecy" & S1E8 "Natural Born Killer")
Makes inappropriate references, such as to Derek's playboy behavior (S1E18 "Somebody's Watching") and Rossi's age (S7E13 "Snake Eyes")
Coordination/Spatial deficits (S1E17 "A Real Rain" & S8E6 "The Apprenticeship")
Hyperfocuses on a task to the point he doesn't notice his surroundings (S5E20 "A Thousand Words")
Unusual/hyper-specific pedantic language (S3E6 "Remembrance of Things Past")
Resistance to change, manifested as a luddite dislike of technology (S6E7 "Middle Man" & S8E4 "God Complex") and struggling with Gideon's death (S10E14 "Hero Worship")
He receives (apparent disability) accommodations to be in the field (S6E10 "What Happens At Home...")
Introverted, difficulty sharing emotions, even with his closest friends (S10E13 "Nelson's Sparrow")
Heavily bullied as a child (S3E16 "Elephant's Memory")
Difficulty making friends (S2E1 "The Fisher King Part 2")
Trouble with eye contact, which persists throughout the series
His mother is schizophrenic, which has a strong genetic link to Autism
Dislikes small talk (S8E3 “Through the Looking Glass”)
Enjoys memorizing lists (S7E11, “True Genius”)
Savant skills - eidetic memory and hyperlexia
Matthew Gray Gubler has also explained that, regardless of the canonical confirmation, he views and portrayed Spencer Reid as Autistic. Specifically, he stated:
"He's an eccentric genius, with hints of schizophrenia and minor autism, Asperger's syndrome. Reid is 24, 25 years old with three Ph.D.'s and one can't usually achieve that without some form of autism." (Note: Asperger's is an outdated term with Nazi origins, which is now referred to as a part of "Autism Spectrum Disorder" by most countries)
DISCLAIMER: I am Autistic, as diagnosed when I was a toddler. These thoughts are my own and shared for fun. If you disagree, please make your own post about it rather than posting them here. This was a labor of love for fans like me and those who love Autistic people and the characters like us. Thank you for respecting and understanding my boundaries!

Thank you everyone! 🌈♾️❤️

✦Call of Duty Bio Headcanons✦
(I know they have canon ages and heights and stuff, but listen. It's fiction, and I think I know better(/j). You can disagree, but these are my opinions. Also, obviously, not all of the info has changed.)
✧John Price✧
Age: 42 y.o Height: 6'2" Pronouns: He/Him Sexuality: "Sexy-Is-Sexy" (Or Pansexual) Middle Name: Samuel Likes: Whiskey, vintage radios, old westerns, horses, & mint ice cream. Grew up around them his entire childhood and was honestly devastated when he realized they make him sick cause he loves'em. -He was definitely a fuck boy in high school/college. Not an asshole one, he made his intentions up front and he was overall sweet, but he didn't wanna be tied down. Ironic given how he ended up wanting the exact opposite later on. -Wishes he took better care of his teeth as a kid. They look great now but he has five fillings in his molars and one (now replaced), silver tooth all the way in the back. Phobia: Amenisphobia; The fear of amnesia Neuro...: Neurotypical

Age: 26 y.o Height: 6'0" Pronouns: He/Him (I heavily support the trans!Gaz HC) Sexuality: Bisexual w/ a male preference Middle Name: Dylin Likes: Hot chocolate, the smell of lavender, coconut, licorice toffee, & nostalgic music. Dislikes: Milk, politics(irony again), Winter, grocery shopping, & spiders. Birthday: September 5th Zodiac: Virgo -Trivia- -Second oldest of four children, the only boy. He's a family man when it comes to his siblings, but not so much when it comes to his parents. Barely present father and a stressed out mother create for a shaky relationship with them. -Cannot cook to save his life. Man lives off of delivery, MREs, and cup noodles. He knows like...four dishes, and most of them are really simple. -Struggles decorating and making outfits cause he likes tons of different aesthetics. Everything from Scene Kid(for his inner teen) to streetwear. His version of housed decor are a bunch of plants. Dislikes: Silence, sitting still, vague answers, being told what to do, & big dogs. Birthday: August 12th Zodiac: Leo -Trivia- -Constantly on & off with a caffeine addiction. He'll do really good about just drinking water, then he'll have one energy drink and he's fucked it all up again. -The scar on his chin is from a dog, the scar in his eyebrow is from a fight he got in as a teenager. He got in a lot of trouble as a teen. -Borderline pyromaniac, honestly. Hyperfixated on fire as a kid and now he's really happy to be a bombtech. Bro loves blowing shit up. Phobia: Cynophobia; fear of dogs. Neuro...: Neurodivergent (ADHD, hyperlexia)
✧Simon "Ghost" Riley✧
Age: 36 y.o Height: 6'4" Pronouns: He/It (Using "it" makes him seem more ominous, which he thinks is fun) Sexuality: Gay or Homoflexible, demisexual/demiromantic probably Middle Name: Achilles Likes: Birds, alternative indie music, dark chocolate, Victorian architecture, & murder mystery books. Dislikes: Snakes, graveyards, the dark(when it's completely pitch black), 99% of physical touch, & fluorescent lights. Birthday: December 30th Zodiac: Capricorn -Trivia- -He'll never admit it but he loves babies. They're super tiny and super cute, and Simon's heart always melts when one's around. Alas, he's also terrified of scaring them or getting attached, so he avoids babies as best he can. Can't have people thinking he's soft. -Makes the best steak in Manchester. Sometimes his seasoning is bland but the meat itself is perfection, you won't find any better. Melts in your mouth every time. It's a steak equivalent of 6 orgasms. It IS an orgasm. He makes great fucking steak. -Isn't fond of pure silence like Soap, but he doesn't often wanna fill it with loud sounds. He has a playlist of softer, more instrumental songs for this. Or he'll listen to nature sounds. He likes quiet, just not silent. Phobia: Taphephobia; the fear of being buried alive. Neuro...: Neurodivergent (Autistic, dyscalculia)
✧Alejandro Vargas✧
Age: 38 y.o Height: 5'11" Pronouns: He/Him Sexuality: Bisexual (Maybe Poly? He's not sure) Middle Name: N/A Likes: Hot drinks, the smell of roses, his nieces/nephews, physical affection, & cowboy hats. Dislikes: Sweaty palms, tourist-y Americans, caramel sauce, white-lies, & the feeling of glue. Birthday: March 25th Zodiac: Aries -Trivia- -Was with Valeria for awhile, but differences, stress, and Valeria discovering she was pretty gay broke them up. They had some tension, but he wasn't bitter towards her. Until she betrayed them, of course. -Was actually the last of his friend group to lose his virginity. He's a passionate, flirty man, but he's not throwing that kind of trust out willy-nilly. He had a few relationships but didn't reach that point until he was like, 19, about to turn 20. He asked a friend to share the moment with him. ...a close friend. -Cannot function in the cold at all. And his definition of cold is 21 degrees Celsius. (70 Fahrenheit for us Americans) He layers and complains all day, he's got a fuckin' heated blanket. A heated blanket owner in fucking MEXICO. Phobia: Coulrophobia; the fear of clowns Neuro...: Neurotypical
✧Rodolfo "Rudy" Parra✧
Age: 38 y.o Height: 5'9" Pronouns: He/Him Sexuality: Bisexual (Also maybe poly but he's very hesitant about it) Middle Name: N/A Likes: Ice baths, windchimes, baked sweets(mostly pie), clean handwriting, & naps on the couch. Dislikes: Cutting onions, heavy blankets, confrontation(with like, loved ones. Not on duty, obviously), slow walkers, & reptiles. Birthday: June 20th Zodiac: Gemini -Trivia- -Super good at singing, but he never does, because he's embarrassed. His mother would often encourage him to sing when he was younger at family gatherings, and now he cringes when someone hears him sing and comments on it. -His house is full of fans. Some rooms have more than one. They're running basically all the time, as well as the AC. Sometimes he has to get a family member to go home and turn them off when he's on a long mission. -He knew Alejandro before Alejandro knew him. When they were kids, Rudy was shy and had some problems with his health(exercise induced asthma mostly), so he didn't go out of his way to befriend other kids much. But he was a people watcher, and Alejandro was the most fun to watch. They actually met because one of Alejandro's friends pointed it out and called him creepy, only for Alejandro to defend him. Then they became super close friends! Phobia: Bufonophobia; the fear of toads Neuro...: Neurodivergent (Autistic, echolalia)
✧Valeria Garza✧
Age: 39 y.o Height: 5'7" Pronouns: She/It Sexuality: Sapphic Demiromantic Middle Name: N/A Likes: Expensive paintings, perfect nail-polish, sandalwood incense, lemon water, & flowers. Dislikes: Shaving, back-talk, tiny text on documents or books, chunky rings, & pineapple. Birthday: January 23rd Zodiac: Aquarius -Trivia- -Has a pull to religious imagery in a darker light because of religious trauma. Roman Catholicism is quite common in Mexico, but her parents were really heavy about it. To the point it makes Valeria bitter over it. She has a rocky relationship with God, but finds Mary comforting. Because when she was brought to church, but wanted to hide, she'd hide beside a Mary statue in a corner. -She has an odd sleep schedule. She often only gets four hours of sleep, but she doesn't seem to be tired at any point. In fact, the more sleep she gets, the more lethargic she is that day. -Her first girlfriend was when she was still in the military. A traveling medic from Italy. Unfortunately, the flame came and went thanks to the medic having to leave. Valeria has moved on, but she does mourn their lost time sometimes and has a little dream of meeting her again one day. Though she knows that's not practical. Phobia: Ecclesiophobia; the fear of church Neuro...: Neurotypical
✧Alex Keller✧
Age: 36 y.o Height: 6'1" Pronouns: He/Him Sexuality: Heteroflexible Middle Name: Sebastian (he's embarrassed about this) Likes: Golden retrievers, bad jokes, most seafood, provolone cheese, & hummus. Dislikes: Thanksgiving, the sound of rubbing styrofoam, being told to "do what he wants"(makes him feel aimless), tobacco smell, & overzealousness. (He likes simplicity...excluding his tattoos) Birthday: December 2nd Zodiac: Sagittarius -Trivia- -He doesn't really talk to his family excluding holidays. BUT, he will always keep in contact with his older sister, and his niece by proxy. They're the only two that made him feel wanted in his family. He wasn't abused in his mind, but he wasn't paid attention to much either. He always seemed overshadowed by something/someone, and as he got older, he got tired of feeling like an outcast in his own family. So he slowly drifted away and he goes on the guidance of orders he receives. -Probably born in a small town in a place like Utah. He's got small-town-mid-south manners. But I like to imagine he spent a lot of his time in California too, he seems like he'd enjoy the sun and the ocean. -Picks up languages really quick, somehow. At least, when he's around people that speak it. If he had to learn purely from books, he'd have choppy speech at best. He's fluent in English, Spanish, and Arabic. Also, knows a bit of ASL, but he's still working on that one. Phobia: Lilapsophobia; the fear of hurricanes/tornadoes Neuro...: Neurodivergent (Hyperlexia, SPD)
✧Farah Ahmed Karim✧
Age: 30 y.o Height: 5'5" Pronouns: She/Her Sexuality: Aliquaromantic Demi-Bisexual Middle Name: N/A Likes: Poppies, motorcycles, pretty much any food with chickpeas, super spicy stuff, and the sky at dusk. Dislikes: Overly salty things, riddles, genuine cockiness, the feeling of rust(that includes on spoons...), & long winded responses. Birthday: July 1st Zodiac: Cancer -Trivia- -Keeps her hair long despite the fact it's annoying to deal with sometimes. Purely for sentimental reasons. To her, it represents the growth she's had as a person. A far cry from the buzz-cut she was forced into when under someone else's control. So she refuses to cut it. -She will never use it, and she despises it, but she's semi-fluent in Russian. Being around it for so long made her pick it up. It works well if she needs to translate, but she'll be caught dead before she speaks Russian. -Honestly can't cook for shit. She doesn't know what the hell she's doing in the kitchen and basically relies on MREs or the skills of others. She's not a picky eater though, and she'll always finish what's put in front of her, even if she's not fond of it. Phobia: Agniophobia; fear of choking Neuro...: Neurotypical
✧Konig✧
Age: 28 y.o Height: 6'10" Pronouns: He/They Sexuality: Bisexual Middle Name: Obercht (Bonus)Last Name: Badubrecht Likes: Making bracelets, boxing(watching or doing), soda, heavy metal, & fresh bread. Dislikes: Certain kinds of wool, small cars, low doorframes, having to go to the medic, & the smell of hay. Birthday: March 9th Zodiac: Pisces -Trivia- -Was bullied all through high school for various things. His demeanor, his size, his hair(which was long), his cleft lip scar, etc. It took until he hit the largest growth spurt he ever had in secondary school when people began to stop poking fun, but instead avoid him. He maybe had 2-3 actual friends in his entire life before the military. And even now he mostly has acquaintances, not friends. -Doesn't talk to his mother, she was overbearing and cruel, mostly because Konig looks a lot like his father. He doesn't really talk to his father much because the man is hard to talk to. He's not completely cut off, but they are estranged. Konig's grandma hears from him almost every day, sometimes twice a day. She's a badass in her 90s who has never done him wrong, and he would blow up the entire world if anything happened to her. -Sometimes Konig gets comments that say he's got multiple personalities. (By uneducated people, clearly) Because he seems to switch dramatically between modes depending on time, place, and circumstance. Sometimes he's childish and giggly, cute even. Sometimes he's silent, unreadable, and withdrawn. And on the battlefield he's...inhuman, terrifying, and nothing short of bloodthirsty. Phobia: Equinophobia; the fear of horses. Neuro...: Neurodivergent (autistic)

I've seen autistics with (mainly) low support needs arguing that those labeled as high/medium support needs usually get the label becase they have comorbidities like apraxia, intellectual disability, (epilepsy), etc. which are separated from their autism therefore levels of support needs are not legit.
I think that although it makes some sense, that statement is not consistent with the way those same advocates talk about (their) autism.
Because even if those are diagnoses on their own, they are intrinsically connected to their autisticness. Even more so considering that autism is characterized by developmental delays and differences in cognition. So it doesn't make sense that they're not part of their autism.
I also find it particularly hypocritical because they do connect things like hyperlexia, difference processing information (which is what ID is), motor problems, etc. to their autistic neurotype.
Why their processing differences and developmental delays are part of autism but more severe and disabling expressions of these are not? (this is a retorical question)
I would really like to know what you guys think about it, especially those of you who fall into medium and high support needs.

I'm posting about the Thomas Family now because I can't deny the voices anymore!
Elaine has hyperlexia as one of her more dominant tism traits
You will not be able to find this woman without a book or writing in hand
Doug found it endearing at first but then he caught Elaine up at 5 am devouring a book under a bright night light when he came back home & decided it was probs not a great idea
Duke gets his reading addiction from her absolutely & his parents where trying to set up a proper bedtime but he'd always smuggle a book or puzzle book into his room at night
Doug has a big sister I'm calling Tracy short for Patricia who has a son Jay[Jay is canon although his familial relation to Duke is like just cousin with not much else said] short for Jayden
Doug is a couple years younger than his sister like im thinking 9 or so
Tracy had moved with her husband Alvin Peters & Jay to Bludhaven when Jay was little tho they would visit the rest of the family in Gotham as often as they could
Doug & Tracy's parents are Patrick & Lucinda Thomas & they are wonderful people
When Elaine runs to Gotham she gets a job as an archival assistant at a college library in Gotham, Doug is working on getting a degree in engineering & is immediately smitten with the pretty assistant who helped him get a textbook that was hidden deep in the library
In my head Elaine has Duke before she & Doug even start dating, & Duke is a a toddler when they do get married
But he's too baby to have realized that his parents hadn't been married before
That's all I got for this post but I'm definetly gonna do more, tagging this post spree #void&goldAU

You know one thing I appreciate being able to find when I get curious about comparing different types of neurodivergence? Actual reliable information.
I freaking LOVE being able to see comparisons like this.
Yes, there's some external behavioral overlap (like how there's external behavioral overlap between autism and ADHD, or ADHD and anxiety, or C/PTSD, and on and on and on), but getting to have that acknowledged and see it clearly stated 'These bear some similarities and these are the ways they're different, and just because they look similar externally doesn't mean they're the same thing; the different source points for these overlapping behaviors point to different support needs that won't be met if they're treated as all the same thing when they're not' is both immensely satisfying and deeply fascinating.
(Especially since trying to look up comparisons between allistic versus autistic hyperlexia usually results in me slamming into a wall of 'autistic hyperlexia is the only form of hyperlexia that exists (pay no mind to the sources that briefly mention allistic hyperlexia before moving on to the "problem" of autistic hyperlexia) and autism and anything associated with it is supposed to only exist in children'-- which is infuriating as hell. 🙄)
That said, I will say I didn't appreciate that some of the results I came across took that patronizing 'autism is a problem and autistic people have tantrums' perspective. Way for those authors to show their ableist bullshit. (At least one of those articles I linked briefly toes that line for a sentence or two, but they moved past it quick.)
Still, I am so damn glad there's information that actually gives a clear-- AND ACADEMIC AND PEER-REVIEWED-- comparison of how autism and being an hsp are similar and different.

one thing i'd like to say about kaneki is how neurodivergent-coded he is, just from the first few volumes of tg alone.
let's start with the beginning in how kaneki wanted to take rize out on a date. when asked by hide, he talks about going to the bookstore and if not there, then to Big Girl. hide laughs about it, because in terms of socialization, kaneki seems kinda odd for picking those locations. i can say as a neurodivergent myself, picking locations that are familiar are a go-to, not because of the fact ND (neurodivergent) people don't care about where their date might want to go, but because it's a social circumstance we are accustomed to and feel the most comforting in being able to be in a social setting without having to mask completely. i feel ken is similar in that instance, because these are places he frequents enough to know how to navigate around.
the next instance that comes to mind is when he and rize do talk, he gets really invested in the topic of books (especially his favorite author), that it's seen a bit as a burst of enthusiasm. oversharing, or in this case i see it as infodumping, is a common "love language" of ND people. i think it speaks for itself.
one more memorable instance: kaneki describing food to touka and yoshimura after the surgery. in this instance, he goes into intricate detail about just how awful the taste is in detail. it's not just "this food is gross", but articulating how exactly each part of the sandwich he ate was off. touka and yoshimura's response? they chuckle about it, and touka even goes to say that kaneki's weird for it. it's not uncommon of ND people to have this kind of relationship with sensory input, especially with food. that, and it's also not uncommon for ND people to speak in mannerisms that people find off or weird, whether that be in tone, dictation, etc.
in terms of what i see of kaneki, his hyperlexia more than likely influenced him to go into detail of his senses.
my last note is how using abstract thought was able to help him understand how to proceed with a problem: the egg = the world, and that to break out of the egg is to destroy a world. this thinking helps motivate him into action, and until then was unable to act in a way that made sense.
in conclusion, i see kaneki as neurodivergent, and it's hard to not see him as such when there's also more evidence to back it up.

Ever since I started Clavis’ route and realized that Chev is definitely autistic and not just a miserable dick, that’s all I’ve been able to think about, so I’m making a post about it. The following is a list of stuff from him that seems 100% autistic to me. My qualifications here are just my “as*erger’s” diagnosis I got in 7th grade and the fact that just about every person I’ve ever known is neurospicy.
Hyperlexia, obviously. Normies don’t have entire personal libraries and do the Spencer Reid thing of reading fucking everything all the time and then remembering all of it after seeing it like once.
Callous, antisocial tendencies, lack of social skills and active avoidance of social interaction that makes it seem like he finds it challenging/tiring to perform social interactions successfully so he just avoids them altogether. This is not the same as being an introvert and like, the girls who get it get it, the girls who don’t don’t.
That really strong pattern recognition which allows him to easily make really accurate predictions and makes up a big chunk of what gets labeled as “genius.”
High intelligence, especially since it’s coupled with such a complete lack of social competency.
How harsh his expression is all the time, like he has a really bad case of RBF, makes it seem like he really just doesn’t bother masking at all since he has enough privilege and power that he doesn’t have to, which goes with his aversion to social interaction and his ability to successfully lead a whole ass faction in spite of being so socially inept.
I also think that the combo of the strong sense of justice and the tendency for black and white thinking that’s so characteristic of ASD could contribute to his ability to make tough calls most people couldn’t without seemingly any emotions getting in the way. For example, with Bloodstained Rose Day, he could deadass look at it like “well 1000 people is less than the whole fucking population so alright, go on and just kill them, it’s worth it” and not bat an eye because it’s objectively correct.
He could be especially perceptive due to like sensory sensitivities (idk how to say that so it doesn’t sound super redundant but you know what I mean), which could contribute to his ability to always know when someone is trying to kill him or detect poison or whatever the fuck else.
Now, I haven’t actually read his route yet so maybe I’m wrong but I really don’t think I am lol. Lmk what y’all think!
