AN OPEN LETTER to THE PRESIDENT & U.S. CONGRESS; STATE GOVERNORS & LEGISLATURES

I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the discrepancies and alarming loopholes in marriage age laws across the states and to advocate for action towards implementing a standardized marriage age of 18 nationwide, with strict provisions that prohibit underage marriage below 16 and set an age of consent not below 16. Additionally, I recommend setting a consent age gap provision that is no more permissive than at least 14 years old and up to five years older, further ensuring the safety and well-being of our youth.

It is alarming to note that four states—California, Mississippi, New Mexico, and Oklahoma—currently have no official minimum age for marriage but require parental consent or court approval. This inconsistency in laws creates dangerous loopholes that could be exploited by individuals seeking to harm or exploit minors. Allowing underage marriage below the age of 16 poses serious risks, including increased vulnerability to exploitation and abuse.

I urge you to take immediate steps towards implementing a consistent and protective legal framework by advocating for standardized marriage age laws across the nation.

Thank you for considering this urgent matter. I strongly believe that uniform marriage age laws are essential to safeguarding the rights and safety of young individuals and preventing potential harm.

If you struggle with substance abuse but not addiction, you still deserve support. If you struggle with suicidality/self harm urges but don't act on it, you still deserve support. If you struggle with psychosis and paranoia but have insight, you still deserve support. If you struggle with anything but are "coping with it," you still deserve support.

You dont need to be in imminent crisis to get help - safety planning, harm reduction, resources, and accommodations. You're still struggling. You're still suffering, You're still at risk/in danger. You deserve better - you need better. Your health and wellbeing matters.

Barriss-centric story where the 41st and the 501st get paired together for the duration of the war. Barriss gets close with Ahsoka on her (ahsoka's) breaks back at the Temple early in the war, and then eventually goes out and joins the 41st as the war gets worse. She kinda figures that if she can't keep saving people the right way back at the temple, maybe she can at least keep Ahsoka safe. There's pining, there's a teenage love story, there's some 'teetering on the brink of total self destruction as the war slowly degrades her sense of self,' there's a whole lot of 'trying to tell your mom that you are this close to killing yourself and she's just not getting it'.

Meanwhile Luminara is scrambling to deal with this entire situation and the growing sense of dread it inspires. She and Anakin are pretty successful together but holy shit. There is so much wrong with this kid what the actual fuck. Anakin tries to talk to her about Barriss except he offhandedly mentions the chancellor thing in the process and no no no go back what do you mean the chancellor involved you in private senate matters as a teenager.

living with my mom and getting help from family members so i can pay my bills 🥴 i was receiving a considerable amount in student financial aid via grants and scholarships that helped a lot, but i'm now banned from receiving them for several years bc i dropped out of classes too many times due to family crises + mental and physical health issues so i can no longer afford to go to school. and the main family member who was helping me died last year so uh. yeah. currently applying for welfare and trying not to kms ❤️

#my only other option is to move back to msia and live with my dad. love malaysia but my father is abusive so i will not be doing that lol #if i could find a way to live there w/o living with him i would. or live here. or live anywhere #& my chronic health issues prevent me from having a normal job i used to work 30 hrs a week retail and then i got sick #so i am entirely reliant on my family helping me

I have no idea about the first day, but the second one happened because Chairman Rose kept forcing wishing stars into it and causing it pain, and then it escaped and well people saw the news.

Was it a potential apocalypse?? Yes!!! But did Eternatus want it?? No!!! I know this because I'm currently it's caretaker and good lord this is one traumatized pokémon.

The worst mindset you can labour under is the idea that your pain not only represents every person like you but that your pain also must be Meaningful - especially when applied to politics or minority groups.

It's so tempting to want to justify your pain, the injustices you faced, the abuse you endured. But by making it so that your pain is the standard, your pain will define the way you move in the world. It feels liberating in a sense, believe me. But this won't solve the issue that you have been hurt. The anger you feel at the injustice that you were mistreated isn't your fault, but it shouldn't ever be made standard. It shouldn't be the baseline of existence for anybody, including you.

#politics #when i was younger the pain i felt as a trans person felt all-consuming. i wanted to define myself by this pain...#...because i felt that it was all i was worth. i felt that i had to justify it in some way - i had to find some reason for it all...#...i projected this pain onto other trans people at times and i didn't understand at all how other trans people could breathe...#...i felt a crushing force of dysphoria and societal/familial rejection for the longest time and i didn't want to suffer alone...#...and i didn't want to suffer without cause so i made MYSELF the cause of my pain and projected that onto the world #i see so many people define their hurt in such a way that hurts them *and* others #this is vaguely about a person lamenting that another type of person existing almost... invalidated *their* work and *their* experiences...#...and part of me understands that - but is it the other person's fault for *existing*?#i use transness as an example because i was going *through* it as a young trans person and i didn't deserve that actually!!!!!!!!#no trans person deserves ANY of the shit i went through! or any other negative experience for that matter!#realizing THAT made me want to distance myself from defining my worth through suffering #which is hard when a lot of my experiences are contextualized from being an abuse victim #but it's worth that hardship because it is right. it is right to want to prevent suffering
