Morpheus was intrigued. Honestly everything you did was intriguing to end but this topped the cake. He had come up from the dreaming to see how you were.

It was a simple check up.

That's why he came when the sun was still out. He knocked on your door but heard no response. He materialised inside but couldn't find you anywhere.

Till he reached your bedroom. He heard your soft sighs first and assumed you were sleeping, but he hadn't sensed your form in the dreaming.

He slowly opened the door, and was greeted to the sight of you. On your back. Legs Spread out. With a hand on your breasts and the other fiddling down on your between you legs.

He closed the door and sat in the one of the chairs in your room. Which gave him a good view of you. No matter how hard you tried tho you couldn't come.

He knew of how humans touched themselves for pleasure. He'd even seen some have certain dreams about it but he never thought you would be one he'd come across.

I love stories where Dream thinks he must offer Hob a boon for his friendship/assistance/rescue/etc. And I love Hob’s instant and vehement rejection of said boon.

Lately I’m thinking Dream is at least as stubborn as Hob, and much less easygoing. If Dream insisted, what is the smallest, most insignificant “boon” Hob could ask for? A few things I’ve come up with:

A glass of water. Or bottle of water. Esp if they’re in Hob’s flat at the time

Hand me that thing you’re right next to. (A book or something he doesn’t even need right now.)

Drop the subject and we’ll call it square.

A high-five

Roll your eyes. Just once. You know you want to.

Part 2: So Kiss Me Then

The Dream Lord had been avoiding you. You knew this because every room you entered that he was in he'd take one look in your direction and then casually slip behind a bookshelf or beam or body and he'd be gone. Now, it wasn't uncommon for Dream to simply be busy, that was something you'd gotten used to, but this... The tense and unavoidable tension in those short seconds of eye contact, this was far worse.

It had started shortly after his close proximity in the library. You'd tripped and fell into him, face smacking into the center of his chest and his arms instinctually catching you. Of course you thanked him, but something seemed off with him. He'd excused himself quickly and left you no time to ask why he suddenly seemed so tense. The days that followed were void of all signs of him until you'd caught him in the library or at least you thought you had. That was when his disappearing act began. But you'd had enough.

When you finally managed to squeeze his location out of Matthew you moved with purpose to Cain and Abels, catching a fast glimpse of him just in time to point your finger at him and yell. "I swear to god Dream if you disappear I'll fucking hit you!"

He paused in his step and sighed, bidding the brothers farewell before standing in front of you. "Yes Dreamer?"

"That's it?" You demanded. "You've not spoken to me in days and all I get is yes dreamer?"

"Do you need something of me?"

"I need to know what your problem is!"

Dream remained expressionless. "I do not know what you're referring to."

You scoffed at him, taking a step forward. "You've been avoiding me."

"I have been busy." He stated

"Bullshit. Even when you're busy you always find time to at least say good morning to me before I wake up." Your anger began to dwindle as you looked up at him. "Have I done something to offend you?"

"No," he answered instantly, softness returning to his eyes.

You wanted to cry. "Then why?"

"That night you fell into me... When you looked up and apologized I was overcome with the impulse to kiss you." He cleared his throat. "I had hoped the feeling would fade with distance."

For a moment all you can do is look at him. Then in a quiet and nervous voice you asked, "Has it?"

Dreams eyes fell to your lips for a moment. "No."

"So kiss me then."

He froze, eyes widening and throat bobbing. "What?"

"Kiss me, Morpheus."

For a minute he seemed to hesitate, his eyes searching yours as he took a slow step forward, his coat of stars and night swallowing the space between you and forcing a soft gasp from your lips. Dream lifted your face up with a tender finger beneath your chin, the sparkle of his eyes capturing you complete just before he closed the distance between your lips.

He was cold and yet his kiss felt like fire sweeping across your lips, sending shocks across your face. His lips were soft against yours, moving slowly as his hand skid into your hair, cupping the back of your head gently. The kiss was exact what you'd imagined it would be. Passionate and consuming, just like he was. When he pulled away, a gentle breath fanning across your face, you took hold if his coat, intent on keeping him close.

Dream wasted no time reconnecting your lips, pulling you into a deeper, more urgent kiss. Your mouth moved against his as he coaxed it open and tangle your tongues together, exploring one another in ways you thought you'd never be able to experience. His hands pulled you in closer, wrapping you fully in his silky arms. God he's good at this, you thought as your hands buried into his hair.

A door closing made you both freeze, realizing that you were in fact still in Cain and Abels garden. The two of you separated slightly, your bodies still close enough to one another that you could feel the fine material of his coat against you. "So... Did that, uh, help you with your problem?"

"No," Dream said. "I fear it has given me a few more."

"Oh? What problem does the mighty Dream Lord face now?"

"The urge to do far more than kiss you, darling dreamer."

You smiled at him, blushing furiously as you smoothed your hands down his chest. "I'm open to exploring solutions to such a powerful urge."

"I have a few ideas I think you'll find interesting."
