Thinking about how to beat performative all-or-nothing thinking vs. listening to your body
you don't have to do the whole workout if it's going to push you into a flare, meltdown, or a lack of energy in a significant way (even 5-10 minutes of movement is BETTER than doing an hour of cardio; stopping when you're done is VALID)
"fed is best," regardless of what you're eating (can't even tell you how many times I just didn't eat because I couldn't cook, buy food, or decide to eat)
what incremental lifestyle choices can you do right now that make things sustainable?
collect information and data on yourself: for example, taking note of when you're shutting down and what led up to it
don't shame yourself for doing 1% of the *thing* when you want to do 100%
don't shame yourself for not doing it at all
if it's stressing you out MORE to do the *thing* -- change your approach, figure out if your way to do the thing is the issue
you may not be able to heal, do the things you want to do, change behaviors IF you hate your body (valid feeling tho), hate doing those things, or overscrutinize those behaviors
drop your expectations
do it badly!!!
do it in a silly way - do it in an angry way - do it in a way that makes absolutely no sense
your life situation is NOT stagnant - know you have the power to change things, to change your commitment level, to take back your consent, etc.

what is YOUR American dream?
like obviously there the generic American dream, which is owning a home in suburbia, having a partner and 3.5 kids. But that's just what has been told us. What is your American dream like outside of the programing?
What is your American dream? You know too much about the American landscape and the different types of communities and living styles available to everyone.
Do you wanna live near a retirement community in Florida? Just going on walks and having a solid group of people that you see every day?
Do you want to live on an isolated ranch in North Dakota? Only going into town once a week to get necessities?
Do you want to live in New York City? Being a social butterfly and floating between friend groups and communities at your leisure?
Do you want to live an organic hippie lifestyle on a commune in Arizona?
and something I like to do when planning or envisioning these types of lifestyles Is acknowledging that this will probably only go on for about 5-10 years.
10 years is the maximum amount of time I will probably spend engaging with that lifestyle and that way of being before i want something new. The limitation of the time Span kills the limerence, and makes me approach my desires in a more "realistic" way.

I just asked my soon-to-be sister-in-law her bra and underwear size so I could buy her some cute lingerie.
Her response was "I don't really even know about bra and underwear size but like a small"
Is this normal?!? Like, bra sizes are one of the only woman's clothing things based on cold, hard measurements. One of the few things we can buy practically tailored. Are people really shrugging off a perfect fit for a nebulous some sizes fit some people????
So I gotta know...
Like rn I'm mostly wearing nursing bras which only came in s/m/l, and they suck. They do things bras are technically supposed to do but very poorly. It's transformative to put on a normal bra that fits more specifically.

No weight.
I started a new supplement last night called nomorbidity. Very excited. I had a meeting with a new weight loss counselor and she said that I needed go absolutely celebrate the fact that I went from 285 to the 240s this year. I was beating myself up for this plateau, because I am so eager and happy to move on. But, that is a big weight loss for someone who was so stuck for so many years.
What did I change? Almost everything.
Trying to be active daily. Goal is 10k steps or equivalent in elliptical miles.
No drinking alcohol.
Meditations and hypnosis at night.
Meal preps. Kept tweaking these. Failed some. Work in progress.
More veggies, always. Definitely trying to stop the produce I buy from going bad (my gf's too). Sometimes a dinner date is based on whatever will be going bad and is likely to be tossed.
Tea. Coffee. To go cups. Always BYO drinks.
Skinny chews.
Glucomannon tabs.
Fiber fiber fiber.
Supplements. Started with Slim and Burn. Slim 2.0 does not seem as effective but I still have 2x bottles of it.
Started taking Thesis, which is a supplement and my God it changed my life. Made me realize I might be undiagnosed ADD/ADHD and that it is affecting me more than I ever thought possible. I am shook.
Standing desk.
Workouts at work.
Kayaking, that is a pretty new thing for me.
Working on consistency.
So, that is alot of things. I was able to say goodbye to alot of bigger clothes, so there is NO GOING BACK. ALL MY COMFORT FAT CLOTHES ARE GONE.
That is epic. I spent a pretty penny on some of those clothes and had emotional attachment to some of them.
I got rid of a shirt that I loved that I bought in the middle of my first relationship. I was a beautiful red with black embossed flowers. Very pretty.
Worn 1x or 2x a year at holidays because it was so fancy and pretty.
It was a size 24.
I don't ever want to be a size 24 again.
This is me, taking a moment to recognize that I did a heck of a lot of work to get here! Yes I may have plateaued but I am maintaining a lower weight than I've been able to maintain for almost like 10 years!!!! This is probably close to the best I have maintained for close to 20 years, to be honest. The weight loss journey from 2009 and 2010 was stomped by the trauma of a cheating partner that absolutely blew up my life and my next partner had terrible lifestyle habits that I fought so hard not to fall into, but I definitely did.
I'm just going to celebrate this WIN and allow my body the time to adjust and keep doing the things that I'm doing to continue to be healthier as a person.
I have always been active, yes.
But I deserve to look HOT.
CELEBRATE THIS VICTORY!!

Navigating Faith: My Spiritual Journey Through Orthodox Christianity
Journey with me, across borders and beliefs. A dance with divinity, in church aisles and urban streets. Explore our shared values, through a lens that's uniquely ours. New blog post, embracing the spiritual rainbow of life, awaits you.
Once upon a time, nestled in the tranquil, rolling landscapes of Bulgaria, I was born into an Orthodox Christian family. In the warm, rustic embrace of my homeland, faith wove itself into the fabric of our daily lives. The chime of church bells, the fragrant clouds of incense, the powerful cadences of liturgical hymns – these were familiar threads in the rich tapestry of my childhood. However,…

Lesbians started to speak of themselves as women who choose a particular lifestyle, not identified with homosexual men, and not defined by any particular sexual practice from 1950. They also challenged the convention of heterosexual relationships and traditional female subservience. This linked lesbianism with feminism – which itself was becoming clearer, more coherent and better known.
