Voltron Characters Headcanons, go!

FINALLY! I HAVE.. too many..

Let's start with the original Red & Blue duo:

KEITH (Aka. He isn't emo, just unique)

- Demisexual Homoromantic (Yes.) - He/Him Pronouns - Full Name Headcanon: Keith's full name is “Keith Akira Kogane” and other languages. However, I like to think that Keith's father (whom I've named: Hyeong-Min, Hyeon by itself means “Virtuous or Worthy” and Min means “Sharp-minded” which I think fits someone who is Keith's dad.) His surname in Japan is Kogane, yes. But in Korea, it would be Kim. As both Kim and Kogane mean “Gold” in Korean and Japanese. This does mean that Keith has a Korean name along with his usual one. I'm choosing to go along with the idea that when Hyeong-min's parents left Korea and moved to Texas, they gave him a Korean name but when Hyeong-min and Krolia had Keith, they chose to gave him multiple names depending where he was. TLDR; (Japanese - Akira Kogane; Korean - Ki-Joo or Ki-Joon Kim/Kogane; Common - Keith Akira Kogane.) - Absolute Literature nerd (He spent a shit long time in that cabin. There's no way Adam or Shiro hadn't found him before and given him books or something to occupy himself.) - I love having him as Japanese-Korean + Half-Galra but he was raised in Texas so he's forgotten a lot of his Korean since no one was there to continuously talk to him in the language like his dad did. Shiro talks Japanese with him so that one is still fine. Keith's been trying to relearn Korean but it's hard since he gets sad (and mad) when thinking about his dad. - He wears eyeliner. Shiro taught him to. - He wears too many rings. And whenever he has to wash his hands, he takes them off, and Lance practically faints every time Keith flexes his hands to ensure his rings are in place. - Despite being touch-repulsed, Keith is so fucking touch-starved it's unreal. - Keith only calls Shiro “Takashi” when he's mad or sad. No in-between. One time he did it was when he was younger, Shiro beat him in Mario Kart and he got so mad, he screamed: "I'm disowning myself from you, Takashi!" and Shiro almost cried. - Keith's Galra side only comes out when he's focused, mad, or extremely flustered about something. Lance teased him to no end one time and his skin started turning purple. - After Allura and Keith had their talk, Allura's been trying to make his little Galra situation better. If she sees him slowly turning purple and becoming anxious about it, she'll turn purple too for the remainder of his ordeal. (And then it becomes a “who wears purple the best”) - Keith loves music, he likes to play the keyboard or piano at times, only problem is that he's a bit tone-deaf (which is surprising considering he actually is pretty good at playing those instruments.) - He is lactose-intolerant, only that he doesn't give a shit and does continuously eat or drink dairy products, it doesn't make him sick though because of his Galra genes... but he does, quite literally, destroy the bathroom.

LANCE (Aka. Too many sad shit)

- Bisexual Disaster (with a hint of internalized homophobia) - He/Him Pronouns - Full Name Headcanon: His real name is Leandro Agustín Nuñez Carmen Esposita-McClain, shortened to Lance McClain. Just like @autisticlancemcclain's headcanon, I love it a lot. (Sorry for the ping, if it did) - All his siblings have acronym names along with their mother. Mervin, headcanon McClain papa's name, is the only one without one. - Lance has central heterochromia, meaning the inner ring of his eyes are brown whilst the rest is blue. Kinda like this:

(This is a picture I got off Google, please don't sue me. And yes, I know it's more orange than brown but I couldn't find a good enough reference to show you all, basically it's just like that except the middle is much darker) - He's constantly terrified he'll forget things from Earth. Like his sense of time, the way colors are, the way the light moves, the moon changing every night, everything. Not just because of you know, Voltron and stuff, but because he has memory issues too. - He accidentally forgot the name of his niece and nephew one time and panicked afterward as he scrambled to think of what they were. Now, he has little notes in his pocket that holds all his family members' names. - Lance is a prodigy at playing music, specifically guitars but he doesn't think he's good after the last time he played in a competition, he got absolutely destroyed and insulted by one of the other sour competitors that he never tried to play a guitar again because everytime he tries to, that memory keeps coming back and it's one of the many reasons he has such low self-esteem. - He thought he was sick the first time he had a crush on a guy from the first week of being in the Garrison (it was Keith) and rang up his mother only to be politely told that he wasn't sick. - Lance often tries to write little poems for Keith because he knows how much he likes literature only to throw it allow or out the airlock when he thinks it isn't good enough. It leads to the first poem Keith received from him being the most romantic and elegantly made poem he's ever read... (and he only got it because Lance forgot where he left it when he was planning on throwing it away again) - Despite being a flirt, Lance cannot handle being flirted with. Keith is surprisingly smooth with his comebacks (it's only when he doesn't try). - Keith sometimes accidentally (or purposefully, depending on the situation) initiates physical affection and it flusters Lance to no end. - He prefers wearing gold because Keith told him one time that it suited him. Aka: Keith's opinion of anything Lance wears is what he sticks to as a fashion choice.

PART: 2 & 3

Sexualities of the original Ocean's crew, as decided by me and my partner while watching Ocean's 13:

Danny: Straight, but has fucked Rusty. Liked it well enough, but decided that he wasn't into men. Would still do it again.

Rusty: Bisexual, but in denial. Liked fucking Danny way more than Danny liked fucking him and doesn't know what to do with that information.

Basher: Pansexual. Has never once cared what was in someone's pants, unless it was explosives. And then he was even more excited.

Livingston: Too anxious to have a sexuality. Would pass out if put in a situation where he was expected to have sex. Homoromantic.

Linus: Genuinely does not know. Is trying to have whatever the coolest sexuality is, mostly by copying Danny and Rusty, but is getting signals that he doesn't understand due to the "will fuck men platonically" and "deep repression," respectively.

Frank: Straight. I'm sorry, my guy just has very straight energy. Highly vocal ally though. Dated a lot of girls that turned out to be lesbians and loves hanging out with them.

Yen: Slut. The rest of his sexuality doesn't matter. The most important thing is that this man fucks, and he fucks often.

Turk: Straight, but has somehow only managed to ever date trans women. It's not a fetish and he's genuinely not doing it on purpose.

Virgil: Queer. If it happens, it happens. Will only date people who annoy his brother.

Saul: Straight, but only has gay friends. Lived through the hippie 60s and the AIDS crisis. Threw a Molotov cocktail on Reagan's White House lawn.

Reuben: Are you fucking kidding me? Gay.

Bonuses:

Tess: Demisexual. Will become attracted to both men and women, but she has to know them well first. Does not know this about herself.

Roman: Gay and isn't hiding it, but isn't flaunting it either. He'll tell you if you ask, but you do have to ask. Greco is his ex and the guys at boarding school made a LOT of GrecoRoman jokes.

Benedict: Considers having a sexuality a waste of time and energy. Only gets off as a bodily function like any other and doesn't understand why no one else treats sex this way. Has not considered that not everyone feels this way about sex.

Is it possible to be aro without being ace?

The extremely short version: yes, absolutely! You may want to look up the term 'aroallo'.

This post got huge (nearly a thousand words), so below the cut it goes for A Lot of detail!

With the disclaimer that I'm aro-ace personally and so this isn't my personal experience, yes, absolutely! The split attraction model (first proposed in 1879, later repopularised exactly a century later in 1979, with the aspec community in particular embracing it from around 2005 when the term 'aromantic' was first used, and coining the term 'split attraction model' specifically around 2015) says that romantic orientation and sexual orientation don't necessarily have to be the same thing.

A lot of the times, these orientations are congruent - someone who's panromantic pansexual, for instance, who might just describe themself as pan (or pansexual without differentiating the panromantic part), or aromantic asexual. They can also diverge - someone might be, say, homoromantic bisexual (romantically attracted only to the same gender, sexually attracted to two or more genders).

The aspec community does use it more in particular, I've noticed, although jury is still out on whether aspec people genuinely do have a higher instance of split attraction, or whether there are sociocultural reasons behind it (the term originating largely in the community).

So, some definitions! Aromantic = not romantically attracted to anyone. Arospec = on the aromantic spectrum, including aromantic, demiromantic, etc. Often uses qualifiers to describe who the attraction is towards. Alloromantic = romantically attracted to people. Asexual = not sexually attracted to anyone. Acespec = on the asexual spectrum, including asexual, demisexual, etc. Allosexual = sexually attracted to people. Aspec = pertaining to the arospectrum and acespectrum. Allospec = pertaining to alloromantic and allosexual people.

Then you can basically mix and match to describe your experience! Let's say you're romantically attracted potentially to all genders, but only after a strong emotional connection develops, and not sexually attracted to anyone. You could describe yourself as demi-panromantic asexual, or, more simplified, as arospec ace. Or, let's say you're a man romantically attracted to men, and sexually attracted to men and androgynous people. You could describe yourself as homoromantic bisexual. Or, if that same dude wasn't sexually attracted to anyone, he'd be homoromantic asexual, and could use 'alloace' as shorthand - alloromantic, asexual.

And yes, that absolutely includes being not romantically attracted to anyone (aromantic) and sexually attracted to others (allosexual, which can be described further - homosexual, bisexual, et cetera). As an umbrella term, you could use the term 'aroallo', which does seem to be the most popular term to use, both as a Tumblr tag and as a subreddit (r/aroallo). Probably on other socials but I don't use those XD;;

(Aro-ace specifically seems to use both 'aro-ace' and 'aroace'. I use the former. AFAIK, aroallo and alloace mostly use the non-hyphen version, but again, not much personal experience there.)

An important disclaimer - orientation is messy and imprecise. We use language to try to give some sort of definition, but it's not a black and white thing. People may describe themselves with apparently contradictory terms, like ace lesbian or the like. This is largely due to those spectra (the arospectrum and acespectrum) being huge. There are so many ways to be on those spectra! A small selection of acespec identities include not just asexual, demisexual, and grey asexual, but aceflux (sexual orientation fluctuates, either solely within the ace spectrum or between no and some/a lot of attraction), aegosexual (someone who experiences a disconnect between themselves and the target of arousal, ie. someone who experiences sexual attraction towards others but without themself being in the picture; I've found a lot of people in fandom fit aego, where they're sexually attracted to, say, two fictional characters but they never insert themself into the scene), cupiosexual (asexual or acespec, but still desires sexual actions despite not feeling sexual attraction towards a partner; someone who is otherwise ace but enjoys sex with their partner as a method of being close may describe themself as cupiosexual), etc.

There are also various views towards orientation, sort of along two spectra. One of these spectra is about how you view sex in general, between positive (sex, conceptually and in general, is a good thing!), neutral (sex sure is a thing that exists!), and negative (sex, conceptually and in general, is a bad thing!). Then, there's how you feel about it for yourself - sex-favourable means that even if you're ace, you may enjoy sex for assorted reasons (see: cupio), sex-indifferent means, eh, you don't have strong feelings about having it yourself, and sex-averse is "no thank you not for me!!", with sex-repulsed being considered a stronger variation ("sex is Ew and I don't want to even think about it") that can fit on either spectrum. I would consider myself sex-positive (leaning more towards neutral, I don't think it's a negative thing but it can be used in that way, like any sort of relationship) and sex-averse (no thank you not for me!!). A sex-positive and -averse person may still enjoy erotica; a sex-neutral and -favourable person may enjoy being intimate with a partner even if sex itself is just kind of. A thing.

This has got extremely long-winded, but the short version is: yes, it is absolutely possible to be aro without being ace. The split attraction describes that precisely, and precise definitions of attraction are imprecise and fiddly and can only really give an approximation of individual experiences, and all of these terms are optional anyway - but yes, very possible, often called aroallo.

Primarch Sexuality Headcanons

Inspired by this post in which I got very excited to see someone else advocating for an ace-Fulgrim so I'm gonna list my view on the primarch's and their various sexualities.

May do a follow-up on the various captains and other Astartes in the Legions, though that post would get pretty huge pretty fast. I have a lot of opinions.

I invite others to share their perspectives if they have them. For full disclosure, I am coming at this as a homoromantic asexual who is VERY sex-repulsed, so that is, naturally, going to tinge my own perspective.

In Legion order:

Lion El'Johnson - Demisexual or grey-ace, uncertain about romantic interests. I haven't read too much on the Lion, and I know it seems to be popular to make the lad gay, but I don't quite get those vibes from him. I think he prefers women.

Fulgrim - Asexual panromantic. As was said in the thread linked above by the Consortium-human, definitely for aesthetic attraction. He is a peacock in the most literal way possible and I think he'd like his romantic partners to maybe be similar? I can definitely see him dressing them up ostentatiously.

Perturabo - Love the iron hermit, he's definitely a demiromantic asexual. Definitely sex-repulsed. Others would say aro but I could see him being romantically interested in someone if they took the time required for him to see them that way. I don't think gender would matter too much, but I think he'd have a more masc preference.

Jaghatai Khan - Grey-ace or Bisexual king. He's not someone who actively looks for relationships or flings but isn't opposed to them either, if he finds the person attractive.

Leman Russ - Exists in a quantum state between "homosexual bear" and "omnisexual bear". On the one hand, I can see him with basically anyone, but on the other, he gives that rugged sort of "passes as straight lumberjack, is actually gay as hell" type.

Rogal Dorn - Asexual... demiromantic? It's either demi or heteroromantic. Preference towards women or femme-presenting people. Probably sex-repulsed if not sex neutral.

Konrad Curze - Aromantic asexual. Has never had the interest. Has never wanted the interest. Pretty straight forward.

Sanguinius - I feel like it'd be cliche and also wrong to say demiromantic asexual. Aspec for sure. Maybe homoromantic? Maybe biromantic? He's tough to put a good finger on in terms of vibes.

Ferrus Manus - This is a gay man. Homosexual aromantic. I do not think he'd be very into a romantic relationship.

Angron - Heteroromantic asexual. If he ever had the true capacity for romance, anyway. The Nails probably stole it from him.

Roboute Guilliman - This one is tough. I want to say something aspec, as I said before maybe demi or grey. I don't think it's hard ace for him. In terms of a romantic orientation... Tough. I think he'd be interested in trying a date with a man, but I do want to say heteroromantic. Not closing himself off to the possibility of also being into them, but if he is bi-or-panromantic, he still has a preference for femme-presenting people and women.

Mortarion - See, most would probably also assume asexual, and I would maybe agree, but I've always had a thing in the back of my mind where he's just straight. Heterosexual man. Nothing wrong with it. He may be aromantic or just not interested in a relationship.

Magnus the Red - Aromantic asexual, I will say this with my full chest. Not opposed to a relationship, potentially, but would rather sex not be involved.

Horus Lupercal - I've seen some people say he's a bisexual disaster and while I can see where people are coming from, he's always had big asexual vibes, someone who's up for sex if his partners want it but is also just as fine without. Pan/omniromantic for sure though.

Lorgar Aurelian - Asexual for sure. I am consistently flipping between a bunch of different romantic orientations for him. I think he'd be an oriented demiromantic, but on the other hand. Hmm. He's tough. I saw panromantic and I think that is correct. May have a more masc preference though.

Vulkan - I feel like demisexual kinda cheapens him since everyone has flanderized him into being the "friendly" primarch, but it does feel fitting after everything I've read on him. So demi it is. Romantically... tough. Part of me wants to say aromantic. Another part wants to also put him as heteroromantic. One of those two.

Corvus Corax - Heterosexual, probably. I can definitely see him as a Castlevania-Dracula-"if you hurt my wife I will scour the lands and make sure your souls are damned for eternity"-type.

Alpharius/Omegon - It's a mystery, OooOooOO! I'm not gonna cop out like that. Based on what I've read, I see heterosexual aromantic. May be open to experimenting with men or androgenous people, but solidly prefers women as partners.

Bonus Round:

The Emperor of Man and Malcador are gay lovers. I have seen the light. I have read The End and the Death. They are homosexuals.

okay, so this is a great question and there are a couple reasons for tae not knowing.

kstl jk is demisexual. for him, that means he isn't sexually attracted to people unless he knows them well/has established some sort of relationship with them. it's actually very difficult for him to open up to people sexually, and it causes him a lot of stress. he's also homoromantic, meaning he only develops romantic relationships with men. but he has had sexual relationships with people of other genders.

tae doesn't know about jk's sexuality because he just assumes jk is straight (since straight is usually the "default" that we assume people are in our society, yknow), and jk never talks about his relationships with tae. in tae's mind, it makes sense because he views jk as this innocent, quiet kid - bragging about his sexual experiences wouldn't be in-character for jk.

jk doesn't talk about his sexuality cuz a lot of people don't understand demisexuality, and he is shy 🥺

the whole fic is pretty much a commentary on how hard it can be for young queer people to figure out our sexualities when we're expected to conform to society's expectations. ie, tae thinking being bisexual is "bad", and jk thinking not being a very sexual person makes him "weird". that's why i chose bisexuality and demisexuality - two sexualities that are often judged/erased in queer spaces and oppressed by homophobia.

the man is EXTREMELY homophobic towards his own self. (or at least he was while teen but now he at least tolerates himself)

it's a really hard topic for him, even though koyo was and is SUCH a good mother figure for him and was extremely caring and accepting and educated him really well. I believe it's his rogue street-kid upbringing playing up, street laws dig into your mind really deep. not something you can weed out easily, even if you get picked up by someone early on in life

like. it's BAD. while teen and ESPECIALLY after dazai left the mafia (which I rewrote to be a few years later and longer 'cause extra angst yessss yummy) he tried to get with women bc he thought he ... could, let's say that. thing is, he Couldn't. absolutely. abysmally.

because he's homoromantic. and demisexual. and as monogamous as a jackdaw. the man is - totally - f_cked.

I don't think he really realizes he's demi, just thinks he's 100% gay. but then he tried to go with guys, and then it wouldn't work out, and then he'd feel even worse, and stopped trying anything at all. good for him, good for him, please rest my man

he probably thought he's just broken though :( something like "guess I'm gay but I can't even be gay properly! f_cking AMAZING! (/sarc)". blamed it all on a broken heart even though accepting falling for dazai must have been an ABYSMALLY tough pill to swallow. I don't really believe that though, he disliked himself too much, so it's more of "I'm broken" than "I'm heartbroken"

I always focus specifically on Vax's identity as I relate to him and project on him a lot, but I have so many thoughts about all of them that I don't ever really talk or write about.

For example, I see Vex as a demiromantic bisexual woman who is polyamorous but also monogamous.

While I see Vax as a trans masc nonbinary guy who is bisexual, demiromantic & polyamorous but a bit sexually repulsed.

I see Percy as a bisexual demiromantic man who is monogamous but is open to causal friend sex for fun.

I see Pike as a demisexual biromantic woman who is open to causal friend sex but is strictly monoromantic and strictly monogamous as well.

I see Scanlan as a genderfluid man who is a hypersexual, pansexual, demiromantic, polyamorous and polygamous nightmare (self-identified).

I see Keyleth as an agender person who can shapeshift between different gendered forms at will, and she's also demisexual, demiromantic, polyamorous and polygamous with deep sexual curiosity.

I see Taryon as a gay man who is monogamous but open to causal friend sex.

Last but not least, I see Grog as an aromantic and agender man who is sexually attracted to people who have more physically feminine bodies.

Then, outside of the party, I have headcanons for Allura, Kima, Jarett, Gilmore, Kaylie, Cassandra, Zahra & Kashaw.

I see Allura as a bisexual and biromantic nonbinary person who uses starself pronouns, star's also open to causal friend sex and is polyamorous but strictly monogamous.

I see Kima as a lesbian trans woman who is monogamous.

I see Jarett as a gay man who is biromantic and polycurious but thinks he's monogamous.

I see Gilmore as a genderfluid man who explores casual sex freely as a pansexual demiromantic who is polyglorious (polygamous).

I see Kaylie as a bicurious lesbian who is monogamous.

I see Cassandra as a repulsed asexual and demiromantic, monogamous demiwoman.

I see Zahra as a bisexual and biromantic woman who is open to causal friend sex but is strictly monogamous.

I see Kashaw as a bisexual man who is monogamous, demiromantic and very sexually repulsed.

Bonus, but I also see Tary's husband Lawrence as a trans man who is monogamous, bisexual and homoromantic.

Last bonus, I see Gilmore's husband Darius as a gay man who is also polyglorious.

I'm just curious, what's your headcannons about the sexualities of the LMK crew? I know you have a post about your ideas about their gender identities and I know that you mentioned that Wukong is ace (in a Celestial NATO post)? So if you're okay talking about it what are the others? (The babies are not included. I find it annoying when people push little kids/toddlers/babies being boyfriend & girlfriend because of hetero normality. Cis people are weird. Sorry for the rant.)

For the LMK versions of the characters specifically:

Sun Wukong: Asexual/Demi-romantic. If you're not Macaque, keep walking.

Macaque: Bisexual/Biromantic. Loves whatever config Wukong has on at present.

Pigsy: Bisexual. This man has been canonically attracted to a spider woman, and a man who turned out to be a cicada. He has a type.

Tang: Gay. Men hot. Specifically strong ones that know how to cook. ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡° )

Sandy: Asexual/Homoromantic. Doesnt understand why he's considered "the hot one" of the gang. Has have any flirting spelled out to him.

MK: Gay/Demiromantic. Romantically attracted only to people he has forged deep bonds with in battle (preference for men/a certain fire demon).

Mei: Lesbian/Aromantic. Girls hot. Romance hard. Details in bio.

Red Son: Pansexual/Panromantic. Why worry about the gender of their probable mate, when they could judge them based on their power?

Nezha: "Get out of my room!" Likes guys.

PIF: Pansexual. Canonically attracted to power.

DBK: Bisexual. He be making eyes at Azure back in the day until PIF came on the scene.

Spider Queen: Bisexual/Homoromantic.

Syntax: Pansexual. Really doesn't care about the gender of his potiential partners, but you wouldn't know it from his lack of swag.

Huntsman: Gay. Specifically for a dense asexual river demon.

Goliath/Strong Spider: Ace. Thinks romance and stuff is just little too complicated/messy for them.

Spindrax: Lesbian. Like loudly so. Has a million different flags and vest patches.

LBD: Doesn't care. Destruction and Destiny first.

The Mayor: Straight but is on thin ice.

Scorpion Demoness: Panromantic. Is romantically attracted to pretty much anyone. Please give her kisses.

Tripitaka: AroAce. Didn't know that there was words for their sexuality until Tang started contacting them via meditation/possession - they just thought they were nailing this celibacy thing.

Zhu Bajie: Bisexual. Used to think he was straight as his rake until he saw some very pretty dudes while on the pilgrimage.

Sha Wujing: Asexual. Wasn't even included in Guanyin's catfishing (pun) chapter cus she knew it would be lost on him.

Ao Lie: Questioning. He never really thought about it? Guys hot maybe??

Azure Lion: Demisexual. One of the reasons he fixated on SWK back in the day was cus he was so unused to feeling "like that" that he figured that his interests would solely be on SWK for all time.

Peng: Bisexual. Men hot, women hot, them hot. Whats not to love?

Yellowtusk: Ace. Continuing to stay tf out of the Brotherhood's romance problems.

Erlang Shen: Closeted Gay. Running from his gay thoughts like that one Family Guy clip.

A bunch of characters are more detailed than others based on the vibes I get/fave interpetations from others.

To commemorate, I'll be recounting some of my life experiences before I knew I was asexual lol

When I was in middle school, I found it strange I never really developed crushes like others did. I also never understood celebrity crushes or fictional character crushes until high school.

I was always labeled "the innocent one" because of my lack of romantic and sexual interest and knowledge.

I was always baffled at why people dated in middle school because I always figured the relationships at that age would never last, so why even try?

When I began 6th grade, a friend of mine asked me if I had a crush on anyone. My first thought was, "oh right, I guess I need to have crushes now..." and I just blurted out a name. Cut to me being pressured to ask this girl out and one awkward "confession" later, we were an item. The relationship was so awkward we literally did not speak to each other, and we ended it after just two days. I look back on it now and laugh. That girl and I are still good acquaintance though.

If I read a book with a surprise sex scene, I would always skip a few pages until I could get back to the story. I thought this was just a maturity issue until I realized I still did this long after middle school. I never felt broken; I just assumed I was some kind of "late bloomer" or something.

When I learned about asexuality, I just thought, "Oh that sounds like me! I guess I'm asexual until proven otherwise!

I'm happy that they went with the Buck and Tommy storyline, 'cause I really don't think it would have worked with Tommy and Eddie (especially if they would have them kiss in the 100th episode)

In my head Eddie is demisexual (if not wholly asexual), but I'm not sure if homoromantic or biromantic, but I'm leaning towards homoromantic.

He only had 3 relationships, and honestly he only thinks positively of his relationship with Shannon ("I loved being married to her"), but he spent most of their marriage not physically with her. Also from what we know he was friends with her first and they only got married because of Chris. I kinda believe if not for Chris they would have gone back to being friends (also if they the show haven't killed off Shannon, we could have gotten a good divorced parents who stayed friends -besides Michael and Athena).

His relationship with Ana was built on the fact that he wanted to find someone who could be a mother-figure to Chris and would fit into what his parents wanted to him. Also the "I thought I'd love you in time" (i'm paraphrasing) is the most demi thing to say. Also the panic attacks are like not normal even if you're not ready for being a ready made family, it points to something deeper.

Before Pepa started to set him up on blind dates, Eddie was really content in living his life just with Chris and having Buck and the 118 around them as a family and support system and I don't think if not for those blind dates (and Buck starting dating, which kinda scared him into thinking he needs someone too as Buck is gonna have different priority now) he wouldn't have gone dating Marisol. My main to support this is that before the blind dates, Felisa could have been a perfect love interest, but he wasn't interested in her that way. But the people around him started to make him dating again into a thing (not intentionally, but having romantic relationships is a big part of society and too many people seems to think that without a romantic partner our life is incomplete), so he kinda asked asked out the first woman he ran into.

Now with his relationship with Marisol, he's overcompensating and trying too hard to turn this relationship into the perfect one. Like he's moving Marisol into his house after dating her for like 3 months, and I know the whole "she wants to have sex with me" storyline is supposed to be funny, but it doesn't feel like Eddie knows he can say no to it (hiding in your best friend's flat is not a behaviour that screams "I know what consent is and I know nobody is entitled having to sex with me 'cause we did it before").

But to turn back to my original point, Eddie is soo repressed and even if he wasn't realising you're demisexual is hard and most people thing that's how everybody feels, so he probably doesn't even realises that's not how allo people feel, let alone that he's not straight. As someone who is asexual themselves, for the longest time I thought it's normal not to find anyone hot (I always joked that I feel the same way about a hot girl as I feel about a hot guy - I don't feel nothing except noting that they're pretty).

So I don't think they could've played it out in a 1.5 episode storyline with Tommy (it works with Buck, it was suprising, but not unbelievable), not even in a 6 episode long one.

Having Eddie realise he's into Buck is a different story for me, because in that case, the backstory and emotions are already there and Eddie just need to work out what are they (I also believe he's unconsiously aware of them)

it's interesting how coming to terms with my transness led to a shift in perspective on a lot of different things that I didn't expect. things I didn't think had anything to do with my gender identity. I realized today that, while I'm still likely demisexual, there was a lot of tension with my romantic attraction that I didn't know was there until it wasn't. there was something uncomfortable about being "heteroromantic". it felt increasingly like a burden almost. the dynamics of it felt alien and like I'd always have to struggle to keep up with what I was expected to be. it felt wrong. but being able to see it as homoromantic, and myself as a lesbian just feels so much more free and natural. like, this is the way I'm supposed to feel. I don't know if I know how to put into words why or how it feels different to be a lesbian than a straight man, but it does. and I like it.

CLOUD STRIFE

🎟️ SEXUALITY HEADCANON: Demisexual homoromantic. He has tried to be straight and it went poorly. It also took him quite a while to differentiate between platonic and romantic feelings.

⚧️ GENDER HEADCANON: If Genesis is cis+ (as described by skadren), then Cloud is cis-, on the opposite side of the spectrum. Cloud identifies as a man but in a similar way as Nero, which is "what I'm wearing works fine." He doesn't actually care much, but doesn't identify as nonbinary because it matters so little to him overall.

💕 A SHIP: Strifentine is my OTP for Cloud, although postcanon it 100% ties with Valenstrifesodos.

🖇️ A BROTP: I really like Cloud+Tifa in a platonic sense, in my head they come to an understanding post-AC where they realize that they're like...best friends, and that's more than "enough" for both of them.

🚫 A NOTP: I don't ship Cloud with any female characters in general.

💭 A RANDOM HEADCANON: The reason Cloud "washed out" of SOLDIER, to the point that he wasn't actually even allowed to formally assess, is because he was originally going to be recruited into the Turks. He's clever, determined, good at keeping things under wraps, and very situationally aware—he also swept in and saved the day for SOLDIER and Turks on more than one occasion back when he was just an ordinary trooper. He should have been a shoo-in for SOLDIER, and the only explanation I can think for why he wasn't is that Turks are the ones that decide whether or not someone is "fit" for SOLDIER, and this means they get first pick of the rookies. Cloud was supposed to be a Turk, and if the Nibelheim mission had gone to plan, he would have started his formal training with the department upon his return to Shinra HQ.

🗣️GENERAL OPINION: Cloud is easily in my top five favorite characters in fiction as a whole. He meets himself head-on and comes out the other side in a way we don't normally see in male characters, and he's willing to say the quiet part aloud—in the OG, when he talks about saving the world and admits that that's too much, it's overwhelming, even if you want to save everything you can't look at it that way because humans are small and weak but they love each other and so saving each other has to be enough? Holy shit, man. Changed my whole brain chemistry. He ties with Genesis for my second favorite FF7 character.
