Calling Tabby to save your ass is apparently the correct option 80% of the time, and every time it gets funnier.
You could be fighting Satan himself. This wet cat of a woman would pull up with a shotgun no questions asked, call everyone in the room poor, shoot the devil in the face, and then refuse to process a single emotion about it for the rest of the day.
Anti-horror protagonist. Love her. This game will definitely use that to hurt me later and I’m profoundly not ready for it.

Concept: Duke’s pupils glow white when he uses his powers. White rather than gold matches his bat symbol and fits that he’s about light itself, not just sunlight. The pupil glowing represents how his retina, the part which the pupil opens to and actually responds to and absorbs light, would probably be the part affected by his metahuman power to absorb light in superhuman ways; is a somewhat more subtle power indicator than glowing irises; avoids giving yet another black character/PoC unnaturally non-brown eyes, even temporarily; and tell me circles of bright white inside dark brown irises isn’t an immensely cool image. Light in the darkness. Like the classic solid white eyes in Batman’s cowl in some art styles.

I love writers I love when they ramble on abt characters and their motivations, their core values and the reasons why they react to things in certain ways and having character interactions work off of each other due to their differing ways of viewing the world and in general I just love character analysis
#as someone who loves humans and human behaviours and figuring out why people react to things the ways that they do#uhhh I'm actually surprisingly really bad @ writing characters with those same traits 😅#unless it is smth I can connect to on some sort of level like a few of my characters have issues that I specifically relate to#thereforee I can understand the ways they act in certain circumstances#BUT when it comes to characters that are like almost entirely outside of my wavelength it's pretty hard for me to understand how they work#and it's pretty basic habits and behaviours I just fuckin lack them in general#like the concept of clinginess or abandoment issues or wanting to stay around people who treat you badly or jealousy or missing people#also love like I understand my type of love but my type of love isn't typical from what I've seen from others#even some of my own past issues like dealing with trauma have kinda been lost on me especially bcuz I'm the type to ignore stuff#like I just ignored it til it came back to bite me in the ass and had to just kinda struggle with it and go completely numb#until I got tired of feeling that way and pulled myself outta it step by step and my various negative ways of thinking elude me#since I just gradually built myself up and rearranged my brain so that all negative thinking eventually turns into dust#whether be positive or purely neutral until I'm able to handle it better#REGARDLESS I try to get a sense of what these other traits are like and how exactly they work for people but it is VERY difficult for me#bcuz the stuff is just such an alien emotion to me like people get REALLY emotional about things that simply aren't a problem for me#and I wish I could understand why and what goes on in the brain that causes that but my brain just doesn't work that way#SOOO me trying to make characters of typical issues I see people having DOESN'T really work when I have no idea what's going on#like IN GENERAL my characters need to have more emotion behind them but the emotions I need them to have are#like I said before. something I totally lack ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ so I have no idea how to do it#I mean I think I need like a check list I need to make a list of traits my characters have in general cuz I never write anything down#it'd be easier to figure it out if I had words to go along with it and then I could figure out the behaviours behind those words#plus I need to draw my characters cuz I'm very much a visual person I can't get as good of a feel without some visuals along with it

I receive many wonderful and kind comments about Phangs in my inbox daily, but the ones that stick with me the most are always from fellow neurodivergent people, usually elated or crying because Phangs is the first book they've been able to read since their teens, sometimes even decades.
"I thought I'd lost the ability to read; I thought there was something wrong with me; I thought I was broken," over and over and over again.
I've talked about it before, but just in case you need to hear it: it's not just you; it's the publishing industry.
If you follow my Twitter, you may have seen the thread where I talked about what that was like, and how I was often handed the "problem" writers who struggled to conform to the industry standards. (The original thread is gone, but for context, it was about the lack of accessibility in publishing for people with ADHD) I didn't know it then because I wasn't yet diagnosed, but I understood the problems these writers were having because our brains functioned on the same wavelength.
I understood why they felt specific changes harmed the text, but I also understood that it was the cost of being published, and it was my job to help them with it. I went above and beyond to make it as painless for them as possible. All the while listening to my colleagues around the wine water cooler deride these writers as "pretentious" and "too thin-skinned for publishing."
I hated them. I still hate them, and I hate that the industry is the way it is because it's really not that difficult to accommodate.
Suppose an ADHD author tells you the changes you've made have made a sentence incomprehensible to them (and I cannot stress enough how distressing it is to have something you wrote be turned into something you cannot read). In that case, it's likely because you've removed certain critical elements for the sake of brevity. It might not look like vital elements to you, but for ND brains, longer sentences with additional qualifiers and descriptors can really help us latch onto the "rhythm" of a text, which can help us feel more immersed and hold our attention better*.
Filler words can help with this; it gives our brain time to process but also figure out which parts are essential and to hold onto. It's sort of like, uh, how people say "like" and "uh" a lot (😋). These act as both social cues that indicate that while we might be pausing in our speech, we are not done talking yet, but also help keep our brains jogging along via the act of vocal stimulation. (If I can find the study I read on this, I'll come back and post the link.)
Regarding "superfluous" adjectives and "weak" adverbs, they often function to provide emphasis and context we might otherwise miss. Sure, you can go overboard with them, and they can lose all meaning if you do, but the general writing advice that "adverbs NEVER be used" is not only lousy in general but also means those of us who struggle with social cues and emotional context can be left feeling out of the loop.
I can't tell you the number of times I've had to go back and verify that a character is experiencing an Emotion because it wasn't emphasized, or the author tried to make it into a gut punch by using "sharp, punchy" language (but all they use is "sharp, punchy" language!), and my brain glossed over it because, well, if it's not part of the greater sentence structure, it's irrelevant.
And this shit is my job! I'm being paid to notice these things! It's just not how my brain works naturally, and forcing it to do so long-term is not only exhausting but distressing. Why would I keep trying to read something that causes me exhaustion and makes me feel stupid because I'm struggling to understand it?
Now, obviously, there will be times when a text needs sprucing up. Everyone has their "comfort" style of writing, and while repetition can be soothing to read, it can also make the text hard to engage with. Same with run-on sentences. Sometimes you need those one-word gut punches. Or everyone's favorite, the italicized "oh."
The trick is finding a happy medium between the two that retains your personal voice and writing style. A good editor will work with you to make this possible. A bad one will hack everything to pieces and tell you, "that's just how it's meant to be."
I was lucky with my editors. Sometimes, I had to tell them that the proposed changes wouldn't work and were causing me distress because I couldn't read them. And I knew. I knew if I couldn't follow the sentence structure, a good chunk of my prospective readers wouldn't be able to either. They weren't doing anything wrong. They were doing their jobs and ensuring my book had as much mainstream readability appeal as possible. However, the problem is that "mainstream readability," as we've already established, isn't accessible to a large chunk of the population. So we found ways to work around it. We made it work.
As is evident in the messages I get in my inbox daily.
Every single day, someone else tells me their friend recommended Phangs to them, and they were skeptical because they haven't been able to read a published book in years. And every single day, someone new tells me they loved Phangs, but the biggest thing they loved about it, was that they were even able to read it at all.
So thank you for the greatest compliment you can give me. A lot of work went into ensuring Phangs would be accessible to as many people as possible.
Also, sorry the industry is like *gestures* this.
----
*This is a generality and not true for everyone. People are not monoliths. I am merely speaking from my personal experiences from the things I have observed in the industry as an editor, a writer, and a lifelong reader who also now struggles to read the current style favored by the mainstream industry.

YANDERE ! EREN JAEGER X READER HEADCANNONS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
TW/CW: mdni, yandere themes, masturbation.
Have some headcannons while I wait for my henna to dry/watch the first season with my cousin.
I wish there were more who wrote for Canon! Eren. Like don’t get me wrong, Modern AU Eren is hot but I mean, fuckboys can be seen everywhere.
But Canon! Eren is batshit insane and that’s exactly what I love about him. I wish they at least add that to his modern counterpart instead of making him a basic bad boy but I mean if that’s what they’re into 🤷‍♂️
Anyways Exhibit A of why Eren in all eras is my fave AOT character:
Like I said, he’s batshit insane.
He has directly killed 2 people by the age of nine, and assisted in killing the third. Although this is out of self defense it still can’t be denied HOW HE TReateD THE SECOND DUDE HOLY SHIT- THE AMOUNT OF TIMES HE STABBED HIM.
Normal kids would just be terrified, maybe be even fight blinding and/or cry, probably even run tf away. But ya boi brought a knife and even deceived the person at the door.
EXHIBIT B:
He’d be a great yandere.
Let’s say that we age up our cast and make 18 the minimum age of enlistment (making him 21 around the attack of Trost).
Trainee Eren has the will of fucking steel. He’ll do whatever it takes to wipe out titan-kind, to make the cruel world he lived in finally know true peace.
To be with you in that new world he’ll build.
You were one of his fellow trainees. Someone who unconditionally believed and supported his desire to see the outside world. You didn’t treat him like a child as Mikasa did, and you weren’t so oddly distant when it came to his help and presence like Armin.
At first it started as a crush. An infatuation towards your looks and kind demeanor which morphed into a twisted sense of love.
You were the only one that understood him, that resonated with his wavelength.
He definitely frequently masturbated to your image. Stress was a known issue amongst trainees and soldiers alike. Many drank to rid themselves of such a problem. But to him just the thought of you two becoming one gave him relief and pleasure that any form of alcohol could never give. In the aftermath of the Trost incident, when faced with your unconscious, battered body he pulls a Shinji and jerks one off. Covering you with his release.
You think you’ll leave his mind once he gets busy with being a titan-shifter and the future of Eldia and such but nope.
Eren only has you and the new world he promised in his heart, body and soul. And that’ll never change.
EXHIBIT C:
Eren believes in freedom first and foremost.
So none of that kidnapping. At least in earlier years. He just wants you to be happy and safe. He’s more of the type to hurt others for your sake rather than be abusive and take away your rights.
Eren in later seasons has the capacity to keep you isolated, and that he will.
Like in other (unfortunately rare) fics of him, he keeps you in a farm land with a bunch of loyalists. If reader is afab! or has the ability to bear a child (for those with abo ocs or something idk) he’ll tell them that you are bearing his child and the future inheritor of his powers.
Otherwise he’ll come up with other excuses like having you as a tactician or war-hero they have to pay respects to.
He’ll give you as much freedom as he can provide while keeping you away from danger.
Though one might argue that his version of freedom for you is just an illusion.

I knew you'd like the idea >:3
Just imagine the characters having an intervention meeting without the creator and they bring THAT up and the notebook along with it and the entire room just goes to silence and no one know how to bring the fact that close to half of the deaths later on were of their own creator's hands.
You're right though, I def think that Sumeru would actually make the problem worse and potentially cause a relapse in which case another nation takes over and Sumeru is seen as worse or inferior for causing more pain to the creator (like the little hypocrites they are smh)
Imagine there's some pages on the old notebook of just describing how they felt and the reader can see the slow descent to madness as each death happens and it's like forbidden knowledge for them to the point that it actually like becomes risk of being lethal, so they kinda stop looking into it and just try their best to heal their creator and just leave the skeleton in the closet, per say.
I forgot to put my little thing on the last post but here it is again! I have way more ideas for sagau that i will probably never get to write so i'm happy to share them!
🍌anon
🍌 anon I want you to know that I am eating everything up cause MY GOD THE WAVELENGTHS WE'RE HAVING AAAAA
And ohhhhh ohhhhhh forbidden knowledge, your brain rn omg. CHRIST ALMIGHTLY
Some of the notes would actually be forbidden knowledge, especially if we're talking the early ones and if the creator was isekaied before Sumeru's archon quests. Omg- NO ONE CAN READ THE FIRST COUPLE OF EDITIONS, besides for Traveler-
Wait....this just made me realize something. I FORGOT TO EVER THINK ABOUT THE TRAVELER, WHAT ROLE WOULD THEY EVEN HAVE??? OH GOD HOW COULD I OVERLOOK THIS WAIT
Putting a pin in that for later (slamming my head against the wall over this)
But yeah Traveler is probably the one that creator would be closest too, because they have to be the first ones (besides Nahida or Neuvillette) to know the truth. So when the notebooks are found they're the only ones allowed to read it. So they would be at the meeting and conveying what is necessary but also keep the important parts our for the sake of the creator's privacy and to keep the forbidden knowledge from infesting again.
What probably keeps them at an advantage is the language creator uses can only be read by Traveler since Teyvat's language is usually translated for us in game in our own languages.
And also yes Sumeru would be worst, glad we agree. BUT THAT'S ONLY BECAUSE OF THE AKADEMIYA, Azar fucking sucks and would never understand. BUT- if we're talking with Alhaitham being the acting leader then there's a higher chance for them. Especially with the other Sumeru characters being there, and Nahida!! Nahida would be a godsend since she obviously would have the most knowledge, both known and unknown, and also would be able to peer review others ideas based on when she's read the memories of the creator (poor baby got traumatized tho-)
PLUS! Kuni (Wanderer name I use, making sure that's known) being our body guard, ain't no way creator is dying even if it is their wish. Combine that with Cyno also on guard duty and you got a chance of healing way better then whenever Azar (fuck that guy seriously) was in charge.

Garou's "Crush"
I wanted to make this little meta as soon as I read Chapter 170. Long story short, I couldn't at the time, but I can now and apparently there's some discourse going on? IDK. There's a reason I generally avoid Twitter ̄へ ̄
Anyways, here's my two cents about that time Murata tried to "no-homo" Garou and, in my opinion, ended up backfiring wonderfully. Keep in mind, this is coming from an asexual, so my understanding about sexuality and romantic attraction may be skewed.
So, let's digest this panel:
Tumblr media
In it, Bang makes the valiant attempt to bond over what he thinks is a safe subject matter. Garou's a young man, right? And what do all teenage boys have in common? Their raging hormones and crushes, obviously. Only, Garou doesn't seem all to keen to discuss this particular topic. Blabbing about the rotten morality of so-called "heroes" to some random stranger? A-okay. Admitting he has a crush to his father figure? Atrocious.
In fact, look at the facial expressions Garou's making:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dude is looking like he's gay straight up not having a good time. He looked shocked and anxious and uncomfortable (just look at that sweat). And, yeah, the phrase "if you twist my arm" can, and frequently is, taken to be more sarcastic than genuine, Garou isn't really someone known for masking his feelings all that well. His facial expressions are vast and he always shows his genuine feelings, whether they're shock or fury or fear. (good compilation of Garou's many expressions compiled by someone more talented than me: https://the-nysh.tumblr.com/post/185831833031/garous-so-cute-and-more-like-his-age-when-his)
But he does give in and provide a name. And, honestly, his answer made everything clear to me. Like how Saitama knew Garou wasn't "Absolute Evil" despite all his bluster, I knew Garou wasn't Straight™ with this one answer.
Tumblr media
Garou names a character. Not a real person, but a character from a show he, most likely, watched as a kid. This is like back in school when any gay kid in the closet would go "I'm not gay, I totally love Britney Spears", or maybe "No, yeah, I totally love boys, I've got a Jack Sparrow poster up in my room". You know the drill. Celebrities are a safe "crush" because they are unattainable, and you will never have to actually act on such a declaration. Fictional characters, by virtue of being -you know- NOT REAL offer even more separation. (And the reason I bring up the fictional character angle, is because Garou remembers her character from the show before her name, suggesting that he has more of an attachment to the character than the actress).
So now he's done it. He's declared a crush. He's answered the question. He's safe. Now what?
Subject Change.
Tumblr media
The very first chance he gets, Garou shifts the topic immediately to something else. And look at that. The cockiness is back. The sweat is gone. I daresay, he looks ecstatic to be talking about literally anything other than a girl he supposedly likes.
Tumblr media
Just look at his smile (ಥ ◡ ಥ)
And if that weren't enough. We are told exactly why Garou picked this character, this actress, of all the others at his disposal.
Tumblr media
Okay. So, first off, that's sad. Like, major oofs here for Garou and his Mommy issues. Secondly, you mean to tell me that Garou likes this woman because she seems kind? Really? That's the main reason? Because, not to get too shippy on what is supposed to be a semi-serious sexuality analysis.........BUT, do you know who else is really kind? Someone who gives off major "familial" vibes? (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hmmmm, I wonder if there's someone Garou's met who he's seen to be very kind and protective over his ward.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some who, thematically, represents the strong familial love Garou has never had and, apparently, craves. Someone who is closer to his age and he might be able to relate to. Someone who, canonically, he operates on a similar wavelength with?
Tumblr media
I dunno, just a thought ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyways, thanks for playing "no-homo" Murata, but I'm afraid I'm still sitting tight on this Batarou train. Maybe next time ;)

Only you
Characters: Yae Miko x Reader
Synopsis: Fluff with a nice twist <3
Word Count: 753 words
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The birds were chirping at your bedroom window. You laughed at that, knowing Yae would have a blast chasing them around once she was up. The melodious chuckling that left your mouth caused Yae to stir, she normally wouldn’t wake up to random noise, but she knew it was you. Should there really be more questions?
You found it adorable, the way she stretched her limbs, you likened it to a puppy. And she noticed you staring, so with a teasing look, she whispered “My, my, little one.. your gaze is quite too intense this early in the morning.”
Yae stared at you, her arms coming to wrap themselves around your torso. She pulled you in by the neck to give you a slow, sweet kiss. Nuzzling her forehead to yours afterwards. She gave you tiny pecks all over your face, adoring how your eyes held nothing but love for her.
She giggled at your lovestruck face, booping your nose as hers scrunched.
“What do you want for breakfast?” You asked, Miko didn’t reply. Squishing your cheeks with two of her fingers, she made her teeth click against each other,
“Your cheeks look delightful, how about I get a taste of that,” you were about to roll your eyes when she whispered, “Up to you to decide which one though,”
“Miko!” You groaned with a blush. Stark crimson spreading to your cheeks as the fox envoy laughed at your flustered state. Her hand coming to rest near her lips. You continued to glare at her, she gave you a kiss to lift your mood, her ears folding in delight.
“I hate you, you know that.” She caressed your cheek, relishing in your current embrace. “I hate you so much,”
“Mhm,” you could only agree. Finding the way her legs tangled themselves with yours ironic.
“No I do, because you gave me something that’d be so painful to lose,” she snickered with a sly smirk. You giggled as well, looking at her piercing violet gaze.
You nuzzled your nose to hers, scrunching them. “You always tell me that,” you laughed, eyes crinkling at the ends. “And you were right.”

A snap. “What?”

“Wake up Miko.”

The head Shrine Maiden jolted awake. Chest chasing heavy breaths, beads of sweat racing against each other down her porcelain face. Her delicate fingers touched her cheek only to find herself startled at the presence of silent tears that continued to cascade from her reddening irises. It couldn’t be,

It was all just a dream,

She reluctantly turned to your side of the bed with dread, her worst nightmare catching up to her. You were gone. Y/N, her sweet Y/N, had left her. With terrible damage to her already broken heart that no one could ever mend.
As her eyesight traced the sheets where you once slept, she was reminded of the day where her life came crashing down.
You were part of an enormous village fire while visiting a different nation. And instead of saving yourself, you, her selfless love, chose to rescue the others first. There weren’t any casualties, only you.
And that day she found out, that moment, Yae felt like she could destroy the entirety of Tevyat with a wave of her hand. And she wanted to. A huge wave of electro surged from Mt. Yougou, they’ve felt different wavelengths of electro before considering it’s Inazuma, but the one that reverberated throughout all the islands was nothing they’ve ever seen before. Windows and glass from the Grand Narukami Shrine shattered in a blink of an eye, and a bloodcurdling scream was heard echoing from the mountain's peak.
Thankfully there weren’t any visitors, and the shrine maidens were ushered to safety while the shrine itself was closed until further notice. That never happened before in all the generations since it’s been there, there hadn’t been a good enough reason to. Only now, only you.
Yae found it so bitterly ironic. But she had no one to tell it to now, her incessant teasing and playful laughter came to a halt the moment your existence in this dull world did, you were the one who brought joy to anything she did after all. But no matter. You will forever flourish in her heart and in the novels she wrote for as long as Yae Miko ever lived, and as she’ll always love you, the hatred she holds for you will also remain tenfold. For how cruel were you to take the one thing she couldn’t live without.

hey y'all remember soul eater? i just randomly remembered soul eater existed and then my brain got taken over by cubitos about it. if you don't remember soul eater, the important thing to know is that some people can shapeshift into magical weapons wielded by partners called meisters. technically anyone can become a meister, but it is a thing you do have to train to do while being a weapon is something you're born with. anyway, this first post is just characters' first impressions of each other and i'll make another post with more secrets and truths if ppl are interested (i was gonna make it this one but this post is getting Long)
First Residents
FitMC and Spreen
Spreen is a cocky and extremely well trained meister who is used to working with his brother Missa or his Good Pal Roier who are both relatively laid back and used to his shenanigans. He absolutely deserves to be cocky given how absurdly skilled he is, but he clashes badly with fiercely independent, reserved, and paranoid grenade launcher Fit of 2b2t. Fit sees Spreen as an entitled brat and they simply do not vibe with each other well enough for Spreen to wield him.
Fit will let Ramón wield him fairly freely because it's important for kids to learn these things early, but prefers to handle any situation where Ramón might actually be in danger by himself.
Quackity Luzu and Wilbur
Quackity is a single chainsaw in search of a meister. Luzu and Wilbur are both meisters not in search of weapons. Luzu has his own shit going on with an AI taking over his body sometimes so he's mostly out of the picture. Wilbur was trained as a meister by his father but isn't all that interested in the job and just wants to play music. Besides, he has skinny little noodle arms and chainsaws are heavy and hard to wield.
Neither Tilín and Talluluh have ever received any formal meister training.
Philza and Missa
Phil is an old and skilled meister in need of a new weapon. Missa is a macuahuitl of pretty middling experience. He's certainly not incompetent and he and Phil are capable of working together well enough, but it's hard to get to know each other well enough to truly bond when Missa isn't around very often. Still, they probably have the most effective combat record out of any of the Federation assigned partnerships.
Chayanne is also a macuahuitl and the only weapon among the eggs. He is far more eager to learn the craft than either of his parents are for him to learn.
Slime and Mariana
Slime and Mariana are probably the Least effective duo in combat. They're both weapons, for one thing. Mariana is an extraordinarily powerful gauntlet and Slime is a 9mm glock. Mariana has at least a bare minimum of meister training, but neither of them are actually like. Any good at it. Or very good at being weapons for that matter. Or in tune with each others' wavelengths enough to wield each other. At least they're trying.
Juanaflippa could dual wield her papas on the rare occasions she could get them to both show up for her.
Roier and Jaiden
These two are another weapon4weapon pair but much stabler than Slime and Mariana. Jaiden is a scythe but she's always had an interest in learning how to be a meister. Roier has learned a trick or two from Spreen that he's willing to pass along and he's got enough experience as a weapon on his own to cover for her if she messes up. He's a backsword and he's learned how to wield himself and gotten pretty good at it, especially since Spreen betrayed him.
Bobby preferred his guns to wielding either of his parents and never got any formal meister training either.
DanTDM and Maximus
Maxo knows that he's a meister and that SOFIA isn't a weapon. That's all he can say for sure. He never knew Dan or Trump well enough to say.
BadBoyHalo
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Whatever he knows, he won't give a straight answer about it. Everyone is pretty sure his counterpart is probably Skeppy.
Dapper has been seen to wield an array of different red and black or cyan colored weapons when Bad isn't around, but so far Bad has always had an alibi and there's no solid proof Skeppy even exists.
Foolish and Vegetta
A pair of outliers. Foolish is an ex-meister long since turned pacifist and Vegetta exclusively wields weapons that don't shapeshift into humans. He says it's because he has no time for weapon drama <- the most dramatic bitch on the island.
Leo is very skilled with many weapons, but again, not the kind that shapeshift into people.
The Brazilians
Mike and Pac
One of the strongest partnerships on the island, these two have been fighting together forever. Pac is Mike's egg, but also his trusty rifle. Mike is a decent sniper, but mostly Pac just gets waved in peoples' faces when Mike is mad about something. Pac can reload himself absurdly fast, but also will frequently just jam himself and refuse to fire if Mike is making decisions he doesn't agree with.
Cellbit Forever and Felps
Felps is the rare meister who will dual wield weapons who don't come paired already. He spent years with Cellbit, a main gauche dagger, and the pair of them got along fine. A lot of what he did was keep Cellbit's bloodlust in check, but it worked. Then they added Forever, a rapier, to their little trio and Cellbit found his comfortable place as a parrying dagger defending Felps with Forever on the offensive.
Richarlyson
A baby meister in training, Richas is learning the most from Felps since Mike has been keeping his distance since the bull incident. At least he was before Felps went missing.
The French
Kameto
Kameto is a self wielding guillotine perfectly capable of handling himself, so wherever he's gotten himself off to, he's probably fine.
Antoine and Baghera
Antoine and Baghera are easily the least experienced pair on the island, but they make up for that with their sharp intelligence and the fact that they have excellent mentors. Antoine is a poleaxe with Baghera as his meister.
Etoiles and Aypierre
Etoiles and Aypierre aren't the most experienced pair on the island, but they're close to the most experienced working with each other and definitely the most dangerous. They were mentoring Antoine and Baghera when the plane crashed. Etoiles is a bec de corbin so he has a lot of relevant experience for Antoine. He is also extremely independent and capable of wielding himself to the point where he sometimes gets mistaken for a shapeshifting weapon. Between that and Pierre using non-magic weapons like Vegetta, they both spend more time apart than together.
Pomme
Pomme is going to be a meister someday, but for now, Etoiles is just teaching her how to the individual weapons that make up him and Antoine since he can defend her better on her own than by trying to have her wield him.

VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION: in YOUR opinion who do you think tops and bottoms in prongsfoot?
hello anon! thanks for coming to me with a big question but with gentleness and absolutely no disrespect, i don't really care and it's not important to me.
i don't see james or sirius as a top or a bottom, i don't see them switching but having a "default" top bottom role. i think they both do both and i like reading both, as long as i recognise the characters and can feel their connection in the fanwork.
sexual expression and identity and having the freedom to embody them can be incredibly important to a person but no one characteristic or life experience aligns with a stock set of sexual preferences so it makes no sense for me to try and fit fictional characters into roles that were never written for them. i also just don't find it that interesting because topping/bottoming doesn't specifically reveal anything about a character or their relationships.
that doesn't mean that i mind or think that it's bad if an author writes james or sirius as having a preference either way, i more object to when people write them as only concievably being able to do one or the other, ever, because of x y z personality trait. sirius' family doesn't make him either a top or a bottom. james liking quidditch doesn't mean he prefers penetrating/penetration. you know?? linking character and sexual performance/expression works into the old chestnut of queer people being defined by their sexuality and sex lives whereas straight people are seen as the safe neutral (not saying this is what you're doing but i've just seen the discourse get way out of hand).
like also, the whole james/sirius thing is that they're equals, wholes of a half, perfectly matched, on the same wavelength, trust each other implicitly, there's no reason that they need to adopt particular roles.
so i appreciate you asking my opinion anon and i'm not trying to judge or preach or be rude here but i don't care. top/bottom discourse is incredibly boring to me when there are so many other things to talk about and i think that more than a rudimentary focus on it veers into fetishisation which affects real queer people in the long run.

I was wondering your thoughts on Yui Kodai and what would you have done differently with her character?
Alright, buckle up, cause this is going to be a trip down head-canon city 😂. Feel free to let me know what you think about my head-canons.
So Yui’s seen as a blank slate character. In the manga/anime, she has little to no personality and really only exists to enlarge objects for other characters to use. However, even from such a small template, there’s quite a lot you can do with her.
Before we start, I wanna say that Yui’s got one of my favorite designs in all of fiction. I don’t know why I like it so much, but I think it’s cause it’s the perfect blend of cute and plain. I tend to like the simpler designs and she’s without a doubt got that all down.
Now for the head-canons:
- Yui’s a clear introvert. So much so that her idea of fun is hanging out in her room either alone or with one individual who’s on a similar wavelength to hers, hence why she’s usually seen around Reiko… whenever she’s out of her room. 1-B’s a bit too eccentric for her most of the time, but it’s not like she’s got any ill will towards them. She sees them as friendly people and doesn’t really resist being dragged around to their hangout sessions, but she’s not too involved with anything they do.
- Yui’s a cat person over a dog person. She really likes dogs, and animals in general, but cats have a personality similar to hers so she enjoys their company.
- She’s a huge Ultraman fan. So much so that if someone gives her the time, she can recount everything there needs to be known about the Ultraman series. She also likes other manga and anime, but Ultraman’s really where her passion lies. Why did I pick Ultraman of all things? It’s cause her costume and quirk are actually based on Ultraman.
- Yui’s stoic nature is due to the popular kuudere trope, but if we wanna add a realistic explanation for why she’s stoic, in one of my fics, I’ve made it so she has Schizoid personality disorder. For the most part, Yui feels like she’s more of an observer when it comes to her life. She struggles to make meaningful relationships in her life, struggles to find excitement, and a reason to exist. She’s not suicidal or anything, but it’s hard for her to get involved with the world. She’d rather be in her own world, which is quiet, cozy, and the one place she can find entertainment.
- Though mostly apathetic to the world around her, in her eyes, she knows there’s something “wrong” with her. It’s something that gnaws at her and is one of the rare topics that’ll cause her to get frustrated. When she gets like this, she shuts down as drifts off into space. This is one of those head-canons that is based around my own experiences with my mental health.
- When it comes to friends, Yui has given it little thought. She views 1-B as friendly people she interacts with, but isn’t sure she’d call them her friends due to her struggles of forming relationships. At best, she closest with Reiko, but it’s due to Reiko being a quiet individual herself and the fact their quirks synergize with one another’s.
- Yui’s got a 5/6 A+ ranking in skill. How does that translate into a fight? First off, she knows numerous martial arts, that much is a given. She took it to feel more alive and ended up being quite good at it. Her brain doesn’t really overthink things, so she never hesitates. That’s not to say that she isn’t a strategic fighter. One of Yui’s favorite tricks is tossing an item and enlarging it. Against those with destructive quirks like Katsuki, it forces them to either dodge or break the item, and when the enemy breaks it Yui capitalizes on the new weapons. In a fight, Yui’s quick and to the point. Her model of fighting is to finish things as quickly as possible, and she doesn’t think twice about playing dirty. Throat punches, striking pressure points, enlarging objects like rocks to bludgeon someone with them, she’ll go for it all. If she has to break someone’s leg to get an advantage, she’ll do so too. Her method of fighting’s something most people would see as brutal and somewhat morbid, but for Yui, it’s a means to an end, and due to her apathetic nature, she almost never hesitates to go for low blows if at a disadvantage. She does know self control though, but she doesn’t really care what others think about the way she fights.
- Her reason for being a hero is a mixture of her being inspired by the Ultraman comics and because people told her she’d make for a good hero due to her quirk and skills. Having no other prospects in life, she decided to give hero work a chance. Hero work’s one of the few things she’s somewhat passionate about and she hopes to learn a bit about herself along the way.
- According to Hori, Yui had a fanclub of guys who liked her in middle-school. Yui has no idea about their existence. For the most part, people see Yui as an enigma. No one knows what’s going on inside her head and that combined with her looks is why she’s popular with guys. She has no idea when guys are flirting with her and is always blunt with her answers. For the most part, she’s not interested in relationships, mainly because she lacks the ability to form such relationships, but if someone can knock down all her walls, she might be interested.
These are all my head-canons for Yui. I know it’s a lot for a character with very little screen time but let me know what you all think 😊

I’m in Love with the Villainess Reaction
Episode 9
Before we get started, I wanted to say something first. I’ve been curious for a while what the reaction to Lene’s secret would be and I’ve made an interesting observation. Most of the comments condemning her and her relationship sounded way too similar to the comments I’d seen condemning homosexuality. As for me, upon some self-reflection, I decided that if I had someone like Lene in my life, it’d be far worse thinking they couldn’t come to me for help because they felt I would judge them.
Can’t forget that even with only a High attribute, Claire has her own OP attack spell.
Yes, Rae has absolute faith in Claire’s capabilities.
Noo, Prince Thane’s hair! You monster! What’s that? He’s bleeding? Poison? Eh, I’m sure he’ll walk it off.
That’s still pretty impressive to use knowledge from a game to counteract a real poison.
Nur Empire crumbs. It’ll probably be a few years more before the manga gets there.
The Commoner Movement might have lost its steam with the reveal of the conspiracy, but that doesn’t mean any of the underlying issues are resolved. What happened with Dede’s sentence is still an excellent example of certain nobles’ sense of privilege and superiority over commoners.
So, here’s the thing a lot of people didn’t understand about the potential motivations and consequences of Lambert and Lene’s actions. They were committing an act of treason against the crown, who generally take extreme measures to punish such things. Right or wrong, the entire family will be judged and punished for their crimes, regardless of their awareness or involvement. That’s why simply threatening a single family member isn’t a strong enough motivation on its own to betray the crown. Family is important, but who would doom the entire family for a single member?
I love it when they’re on their same wavelength, plotting together. We don’t get too much of that this early in the series.
We heard you loud and clear, Claire, you find Rae very attractive in formal wear.
Fun fact, Rae prefers wearing pants over skirts and dresses. Even Claire has a hard time trying to get Rae into a dress.
Look at those knights in full armour. And now I’m thinking about a certain fight scene later in the books. Those who’ve read them know what I’m talking about.
All hail, King Vegeta!
You gotta admit, even though it was obvious what they were going to ask, at least for the audience, it’s still a ballsy move. Like I said, treason is punished so harshly, even those whose only “crime” is being related to the actual criminals are executed.
Ah, Salas, the Prime Minister. Another character who I should avoid talking about.
Wow, look at Thane, the least favoured for the throne, sounding very much like a king right now.
Oh, these two are couple goals.
You know, we never learned what happened to the rest of the Aurousseau’s, just what Lene and Lambert got up to on their own.
Don’t think I didn’t notice what you slipped in in that flashback montage.
Quite the optimistic and hopeful parting. It’s not like Lene can visit, unless something extreme happened in the Bauer Kingdom, like a revolution or some- oh wait…
She’s almost here. And wow, they just revealed it in the promo that she was Claire’s first love (the charming “prince” little Claire mentioned in that flashback). Sure, she thought she was a boy, but Thane also had some pretty feminine features, enough to pull off a maid outfit. And who can forgot how Claire was convinced to go along with that cafe idea. Just saying, there’s a pattern here and it’s saying quite clearly that there ain’t no way this girl is straight.

wait now i need to actually turn this into a post
( @sweetmariihs2 thank you girl for the brainrot and my bad if literally everyone has already talked abt this im newww)
I don't hate at all wormwood's betrayal of cedric in the "in cedric we trust" episode, and I actually think its super interesting in a narrative sense because it shows that he and cedric are two different beings with differents personalities, different morals, different thoughts and opinions
And I don't even think cedric thought of wormwood as an extension of himself, its just that (assuming wormwood is younger than cedric, since he's like a bird) having basically raised him he thought they would be inseparable, sharing the same goals and that they would just be in the same wavelength i guess
cedric was never really evil so he thought wormwood shared that sentiment
and the problem i have is that they never really showed the progression of their dynamic between "day of the sorcerers" and "in cedric we trust", which could've been an opportunity to show how they could interact in their day to day life now that wormwood and cedric could actually communicate, or even show wormwoods thought process, and him coming to the conclusion that noo he doesn't actually like this new life they have, and he doesnt like the sudden change in cedrics behavior
speaking of that!!! show that compared to the allegedly many years of planning and scheming and being bitter and angry cedric's redemption was so sudden and fucking out of nowhere, he doesn't see that redeemed cedric as the person he actually is
and shit, even show how wormwood being by cedrics side for so long, but not knowing WHY he is that way, he doesnt understand why he wouldn't want to be that way anymore
why he would want to give up on getting revenge against people who wronged him, why he wouldn't want to be king and have power when that was the only shit he would talk about all the time
he decided that since he doesn't actually know his master, he might as well not be his master anymore
I don't hate wormwood as a character even if cedric is my hands down favorite character of the show, and i miss them as a little duo, and i wish they could've stayed together after cedric's redemption
but i know that would not happen at all and i like that it did, and yet,,,,, i still wish that we could've seen more of them

I have a question about fandoms, fics, canon and characterization. If fanworks in general are transformative work, then fanon and characterization shouldn't matter, right? For example, let's take modern AUs. In this sense, the characters will be adapted to the setting and it makes sense that interpretations would differ. On that same wavelength, isn't characterization negligible alongside the concept of OOC? If you don't like something about canon, you can just change that in an AU and I'm assuming this applies to characters as well. I guess I'm wondering whether canon or the original text is even important .
Okay so let me ask you a very important question before I answer this with my own opinion:
When you are going into the fanfiction of a particular work, why is it that you’re going in there? Is it cause it’s a fantastic setting and you want more works in the world? Is it cause it had a plot with promise but was poorly handled and you want to see if people were able to do it better?
Or is it that you enjoyed the characters so much you want to see more of them?
Because depending on which one your answer is makes the question of if canon matters much more relevant. I adore Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji, so I want to read stories about Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji, not someone’s original characters that might share a name and a couple superficial personality traits. I have backbuttoned out of so many of those fics and I can’t enjoy them.
I have seen arguments that trend towards “canon isn’t that important for my story, cause that’s not what I want to write about”, and I find that most of those writers tend to work in… very subpar works. MCU for example. If you have a cookie cutter premise with cookie cutter characters, then perhaps it doesn’t matter that much to those writers, because they’re not in it for the love of the work in the same way. They were disappointed by what the work did, so they set out to create something else, something more interesting.
I personally disagree in the sense that eventually you do just stumble into original work with the vague skin of someone else’s names and faces. I don’t go into fanfiction for a fandom unless I adore it and want more. For me, I want to see respect and commitment to the original author’s work; modern aus are fine, but how do you maintain the integrity of those characters? Wei Wuxian is a canonical genius and inventor, so do you let him flourish in a modern world? Does it fit any of the elements of his character that are not so tightly wedded to the society and setting that he’s in? We know he’s a romantic who never kissed anyone besides Lan Wangji, so a modern au where he’s had a long string of lovers is going to annoy me a lot more than a modern au where he’s been happily going through life and then fell head over heels for the cool new guy in his lab because one of them is a lot more reminiscent of the Wei Wuxian in canon.
It matters because if you go into a fandom because you liked the characters, it’s not so fun to read about generic fanon trope #620. It matters because for fanfiction, ninety-nine times out of a hundred, the defining interesting part of the work is the characters.
It matters because it shows how much respect you have for the work if you are able to maintain what keeps the characters functioning as recognizable versions of themselves, something that still pays homage to the source in which they came from. Otherwise you’re not writing fanfiction, you’re writing original fiction with a funky skin over it.
Thank you, and to sum up, yes ooc and fanon are things I would call problems in fandom, because the thing that should matter most is the wellspring from which your stories come from.

No one’s ready for my red string conspiracy board on Oscar being a Faunus. Blake & Ilia passing for human. THE BANDAGES. Oscar being comfortable among the Faunus in the crater slums after Ironwood shot him off a cliff. Faunus in cages in jinn’s vision. No Faunus Allowed signs in shops in Mistral & Atlas. Oscar vs. Leo. Oscar’s entire deal with the reincarnation process and his own believed disposability. Salems connection to the Faunus and the Faunus’ connection to the Grimm. The gods having horns. THE BANDAGES. The implications of all these disparate pieces together. How much more weight in the story setting and connections would his character have if Oscar was a Faunus?
give that boy gills
gbrhckfj on a similar wavelength actually i like to headcanon that he’s adopted and his aunt is a faunus—granted ‘comfortable around faunus’ is the norm with the main characters so i don’t think it’s necessarily significant that oscar falls into that category; what strikes me more is that the casual connection oscar makes with the faunus in the crater can be juxtaposed against how nervous and awkward he gets when he meets, you know, the largely-human main cast. which might just be down to the narrative skipping the introductions to get right to the important piece of oscar sharing a meal with these new acquaintances when the kids arrive to pick him up (and there is a little awkwardness when he’s surprised by the soup being offered to him) but. yk.
i think if he himself were a human-passing faunus it surely would have come up by now (oscar doesn’t Like Lying + even if he didn’t feel safe with the humans in the group, there’s blake) and that’s One reason i land more on raised by faunus (<- another is that i have a pet theory ozma Can’t reincarnate into faunus Because they’re beyond light’s power to harm—the whole theme in their mythology of freely chosen transformation and freedom and all) (<- a third is that there’s . only one interspecies family in the entire story and the scarletinas are so marginal you’d only know velvet’s dad is human if you read the CFVY books, so why not expand). but as a headcanon or like potential au oscar being a faunus himself does track thematically really really well
i would also point out: neck is an odd place for a faunus trait to be (other than like, gills) and if he’s trying to pass then wrappings are a really conspicuous way to hide vs like, a turtleneck. but we’ve also never seen him without those work gloves on, and we know it’s pretty common for faunus to have claws.

Forgot to say this in my original tags but I love how you draw Papa. I love how the entirety of Taleblr draws papa, never have I seen a fandom more willing to draw a fat, bald bearded man and love him so dearly. /pos /gen He really is the “guy” of all time. I’m unsure if this ask is coherent lol-
Don’t worry about being coherent, you’re on my wavelength!! I feel like if we as a fandom had hang ups about drawing Papa Acachalla as a fat, bald, bearded man when all of those traits are ones he’s borderline prideful of, it would disrupt the natural order of the universe. Honestly, I think there are people who do a better job at embodying Papa’s primary traits while maintaining that they and he look endearing in a character-design sense.
Also, if you like how i draw the fat bald bearded man, just wait until i draw the fat bearded balding WOMAN THAT’S RIGHT I’VE BEEN DRAWING SALLY BETTY JESSICA!!
