Villain bit their lip anxiously as they watched the hero storm off angrily mid-fight.

“Wait!” Villain called out in a desperate attempt to get the hero’s attention. They knew it likely wouldn’t work though. The hero had finally snapped. After years upon years of working their tail off for a thankless job, they were over it.

“Villain, I’m done.” Hero bit out as they hastily snapped around to face the villain, their teeth gritting against each other in frustration. Villain flinched, causing them to stumble backwards by a step. 

“You can’t just be done, there are people who need saving!” Villain cried out as they gestured vaguely around them. There was nobody there though. Just the concept of people, a desperate villain, and a bitter hero. 

“Fine. You save them.” Hero growled as they turned their back on the villain once more. “I’m so tired, do you realize how exhausting this job is?” Hero sighed as they halted. 

“And I’m not exhausted? I have to make elaborate plans and then get my ass beat.” Villain huffed as they folded their arms across their chest.

“Well then maybe this is for the best. You won’t be getting your ass beat anymore, and I won't be stuck in this endless loop of doing the ass beating.” 

An unbothered queen has entered, and subsequently left.

(The prosthetic might be a lot sleeker than Leonardo deserves but Donnie designed it and he's a fourteen-year-old who is very much into the Rule Of Cool so that's what we get)

it is funny though how kids' shows are so so so careful about death, no one's ever killed except MAYYYYBE the big bad, all those random side characters are fine, here have a quick shot of them before we leave just so you know they really did survive that 50-foot drop into a stormy sea,

and meanwhile kids' books nearly all agree that it's not an adventure until it has a body count.

Since I already drew Persona 5 characters in the Omori style... how about the other way around? 🔄

okay but "would i were a man, i would eat his heart in the marketplace" is like. The Line of the play. it's beatrice's anger and frustration and, most importantly, her complete lack of power as a woman. her best friend and cousin was humiliated, abused, and left for dead, and there is nothing that she can do, because, even if she's allowed to make fun of the men when people find it funny, she ultimately has no power as a woman. and no one understands, no one believes her, no one gets the absolute rage that she feels on behalf of hero. to the men it's all a game. and it's this line that makes benedick understand. after that line, he goes from refusing to hurt claudio to promising to fight him, because he understands. he sees when no one else does that beatrice has no power. and he agrees to fight his friend, not because he wants to, but because he sees that she can't.

Just a thought but what would a Cat Walker but it’s Ladybug act or what facet of Marinette’s character will center on that?

I feel like Marinette has a healthy balance of herself as Ladybug and vice versa so I’m wondering just what facet of her character would bring life to create a Cat Walker version of a Ladybug hero.

love how the fandom collectively reimagined drew's character. recently had a cousin of mine pick up the lost hero, and she told me, "reese, i don't get how you like drew. she's so mean to piper." and i kind of sat there for a moment trying to reorganize canon from fanon.

gotham fic idea/prompt i might add onto later but who knows

the bats face a powerful meta/magic user/idk who is able to basically trap people in an illusion of some significant night in their lives--see notes for more on that. in order to get out, they have to literally fight the illusions. everyone can see them doing this, but they can't necessarily see other people. maybe they get regressed back to the age where it happened, idk yet.

so. bruce get hit just when the fight is slowing down (someone didn't secure the criminal properly) and suddenly the entire battlefield is overlayed by an image of a circus---but not just any circus. screams everywhere, crying, gunshots, brutal sounds of people being killed and tortured everywhere. the games are all disgusting facsimiles of circus/carnival games--whack-a-mole with people's heads, darts games aiming at people, etc. all from the gotham tv show.

bruce, seventeen years old, with a painted face, kidnapped by a man with red hair and a sewn-on face, a man who looks so much like the joker... but isn't.

the man calls him bruce. the joker /never/ calls him bruce (not in front any of the batfam, anyway), always batman. because the joker likes to take credit for creating the batman.

but the truth is that both the batman and the joker were created by the same man: the man with the sewn-on face. jerome. a name they had never heard before.

idk, thinking of the bats' response to this is fun. what is also fun is imagining a de-aging situation or a ressurection situation--maybe at the same time? who knows!

i think i’ve learned a lot when it comes to not applying my own values to the media i consume

for my script analysis class yesterday, we discussed two gentleman from verona, and nearly every classmate of mine was up in arms about how sexist the story is.

and i'm not saying it's not, or that it's not infuriating to read. but i'm also not putting my energy into getting upset about something written 500 or so years ago. and i'm not about to put my own beliefs onto these characters that are not me. i'm going to let their choices speak for themselves, and interpret it in the context of the story.

all that said, this now brings me to the point of alastor in episode 5, and how viscerally people are responding to it. those of you up in arms about the choices he’s making, and the violent threat he gave husk, you’re missing the entire point of his character, of this place they’re in, of the story being told. he’s an overlord, and he became an overlord by killing much bigger overlords and broadcasting their deaths over the radio.

HE IS NOT A GOOD PERSON.

if you started this show with the belief that every character working the hotel is a good person, you’re in the wrong place. watch the good place if you’re looking for a good wholesome story about getting dead sinners into heaven, because that’s not what this show is about.

you’re more than welcome to hate him after seeing the way he exerted power over a being whose soul he owns, but you’re doing the media you’re watching a disservice by writing it off so quickly. if you don’t like to be uncomfortable watching media, watch something else. this is an uncomfortable show, it handles uncomfortable topics, and it’s going to be an uncomfortable ride, and if you’re not up for something like that, then you should take a break from it and pick up something else. you don’t have to get online and defend your own ideals while you watch a show that goes against your ideals.
