this man uses so many abbreviations that even if you think you use a lot just know you're learning a new one everyday. not even kidding makes up his own shit. once sent mina "lmkiydthesicci" and nobody could figure out wtf he meant. lowkey flirting with every mssg he sends. every single person in the class, girl or not has received a message from him that just says "hey bbg ;)". he received a very long lecture from iida and a very confused reply from todoroki. todoroki didn't actually know wtf bbg meant. thought he misspelled bbq at first.

unironically sends messages that just say "rawr". uses the :} face a lot bc he thinks it looks like his unbreakable.

🐙Mezou Shoji🐙

i feel like he has such a low screentime that if anyone needs to text him he's only available for like an hour a day. accidentally leaves ppl on read. messages seem very bland usually.

❄️Shoto Todoroki🔥

another bland person but tbh hes the worst out of them all. like he can look at a whole paragraph asking him if he wants to go to the movies with the rest of the class and all he will reply with is just "ok." uses periods at the end of every message but I swear he's not mad.

if he receives any messages past 8pm the "reply" will be you getting left on delivered even if he's still up, or a message just saying "shut the fuck up and go to bed.". also bland but he's more of a "k" bland rather than a "ok." bland.

🥦Izuku Midoryia🥦

he will not even kidding receive a message that just says "hi" and will send a whole paragraph that is basically just a lengthened "hi! how are you?". uses the smiley emoji a lot.

💫Momo Yaoyorozu💫

lots of ! at the end of messages, you can feel the happiness through your phone screen. uses heart emojis at the end of messages and memorizes the meaning of each color so she can use them accordingly.

🖤Shihai Kuroiro🖤

another :} user, sometimes uses :] but mainly :}. only ever texts ppl at hours like 2-4 am. you cant convince me he gets enough sleep.

As the old saying goes: "Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes".

From what the beings of the multiverse have to offer, Izuku desires to understand his former friend Katsuki by gaining the Quirk, Explosion. They granted Izuku's wish by bestowing him a Quirk that's the same as Katsuki, and to Izuku's surprise and subsequent delight, activating Explosion feels like...in his own words..."freedom".

Once Izuku gets the hang of it, he gets into a kneeling position and lets his emotions and passions loose. Allowing him to achieve a short-lived flight through the air as the giddiness and wonder he always has deep down regarding the numerous times he saw Katsuki use his Quirk to propel himself in the air.

I spend a lot of time harping on the disappointing and frustrating aspects of MHA, so I'd like to change gears and talk about some specific positives for me:

- Ida, Todoroki, and Izuku's friendship during and post Stain Arc. The way those three stuck together was just awesome, and we got the legitimately funny 'Hand Crusher' moment.

- Eri being 100% ride or die for Izuku. I'm not a fan of Eri (specifically her writing), but seeing her going so hard for Izuku in the light novels were the ONLY bearable moments for me.

- Kota becoming an Izuku fanboy and apologizing for how he acted towards him, specifically how he ran up to hug Izuku after the Dark Izuku Arc.

- All Might and Inko owning up to their mistakes and working to make up for them.

- The audience legitimately cheering for Sero after his match with Todoroki during the Sports Festival, seeing as how unfairly matched up they were.

- The OFA vestiges (for the most part) being genuinely kind and helpful towards Izuku, gently encouraging him to rest and not push himself during the Dark Izuku Arc

- Dark Shadow absolutely loving Izuku and being so gentle with him during 1A vs Izuku 🥺

- Aizawa FINALLY realizing how unfair and awful he'd been towards Izuku during the PLF War, specifically after hearing Izuku stand up for him

- AFO in Kamino Ward was badass. Enough said.

- Dadmight and Izuku. No other words needed.

- Ida comforting and reassuring Izuku that he'd always be there to help him during 1A vs Izuku.

- Endeavor actually realizing how awful he was towards his family, and Natsuo and Shoto being more or less allowed to feel conflicted/resentful of him.

Those are all very nice moments, I do have to say. I agree wholeheartedly with all of them.

Adding to that list, I love how the girls support each other. It’s such a good group dynamic and I love that despite their differences they all look out for each other and their friendship is strong.

I may criticize the plotline as a whole, but I do like that instead of turning on the Yuuei traitor they understood the traitor’s situation and promised to help the traitor with their issues. It was honestly really heartwarming.

I love Kaminari, Sero, and Kirishima’s adorkable friendship. They’re all so goofy together!

I love seeing Kirishima and Tetsutetsu’s bonding moment during the Sports Festival. Kiri definitely needed another friend and branching the gap between the (at the time) nebulous 1-B and our 1-A was really nice. (Plus the separated at birth theory makes me laugh. Too many coincidences! Get the string board!)

Eri SMILING and finally acting like a kid during 1-A’s musical number at the Culture Festival and making Mirio cry? That hit me right in the feels.

Speaking of Mirio, I love his friendship with Midoriya. He is the exact kind of friend he needed and he’s so goofy he makes me smile whenever we see him. The Big Three are honestly one of the better parts of the Academia part of the manga/anime.

This is a bit of a petty moment, but I’m petty and it makes me laugh: Overhaul’s whole cameo in the Lady Nagant arc. I personally despise him so seeing him so disheveled and bewildered all of the time gives me joy.

I LOVED Shuichi/Spinner’s loyalty/friendship with Shigaraki. He is such a ride or die friend and it made me smile every time he mentioned how much he was willing to do just to save him. It reminds me of how dedicated Iida/Todoroki were to save Midoriya from himself and it hits home that they’re effective foils of each other.

And of course, Uraraka and Midoriya’s bond is one of my favorite parts. Not only are they both super cute/adorkable, but they care about each other SO MUCH and it HEALS me to see them showing that.

There’s just so much good and while it frustrates me a lot due to the wasted potential I just can’t hate it, y’know? Not when there’s so many good parts to come back to.

Headcanons I love even tho they go against my main beliefs for these characters

Ace/Aro bakugou. Idk why but I just. Love it. So much. Like yes lil dude be free!!! Fuck nobody!!! You never needed bitches!!!

And especially the headcanons where he's like. Absolutely clueless about love. Like Mina will ask "so bakugou what's your type?" And he just looks confused n goes "?? You mean my blood type???"

Izuku and Katsuki being brothers. Like not literal brothers by blood but they have that brotherly bond. I actually do ship dekubaku but this headcanon is still very dear to me and I think in another universe it could work.

Like it's so funny imagining them fighting the way brothers do or being mean to each other but also having each other's backs and protecting/defending the other. I love that for them

Idk why but asexual todoroki just. Wow. I love him

I feel like he would still want a romantic relationship just without the sex part. Like he's totally cool with kissing or cuddling bc cmon there is no way in HELL this boy is not absolutely touch starved.

I feel like while Ace bakugou thinks sex is gross and is repulsed by it, ace todoroki is just indifferent to it. He doesn't rlly care or have any feelings towards it. Like ok bestie go smush your peepees together while I watch the entire Beverly Hills Chihuahua franchise

As much as I love my blorbos bakudeku together I have to admit the idea of izuku being the token straight friend in a class full of the ell gee bee tees is so fucking funny to me. Like he doesn't understand the lingo and is absolutely sweating his balls off trying not to say something offensive and it's just hilarious. He accidentally uses she/her instead of they/them once and almost commits seppuku ( a japanese style of suicide which includes disembowelment)

I'm sure he includes everyone's pronouns in their description in his notebook to make sure he remembers what to use

Himikos eyebags come from the many long nights she spent as a villain doing literally anything else but getting a good night's sleep. Like I know in the backstory episodes we see her with the eyebags as a child, but when I first watched the show I just assumed that that was the reason she had them, and I'll stick to that till I die

More questions hell yeah...as next week we'll see more of my kaachan academy.

I have to ask...what is Izu endgoal here? Bc look people can ship him and Ochako as much they want(they will be together) but canon has give all the reasons for them not be together...they will if Hori wants to follow the shonen formula but...I know it will be smth miserable for him.

On bright side, she wont cheat on him with bk....but will dream about Toga.

Which makes me think: this once was the story how Izu became a biggest hero...but "we became the biggest hero" hell, who am I kidding? "I, bakugou, became a great hero" is more likely.

1) Ochako has hidden her feelings for Izu (as if she is ashamed) we have seen novels where some girls do say Izu would be a bad BF and Ochako is silent. Granted no one is confessing their love to BK yet (I have a theory Hori will created Horiko to date BK) but the love interest doesnt know shit about him.

2) yes. Kota and Eri like him and even help him when class A1 forced him back...cool. but it tells me smth...if Izu is not killed (its Hori if he can shit Izu, he will) will he be respected by others heroes or...single out again? (Will never forgive how class A1 believe the words of bk so easily...bk is so openly hostile to Izu)

3) What will be his life after all this? Say he saves Shig somehow (20 mins hearing him moaning and doing nothing) well...would he start think highly on himself?(I laugh as if...this is Hori we are talking about)

4) will anyone be inspired by him? Bc in my first watch I really thought the ending would be "a kid sees Izu and is inspired by him" ...my bad, it will be "a kid will see bk and be inspired by this useless dead weight"

I could talk about how IzuOcha is a mess and cant work as friends ...but this is for another ask.

To conclude. Izu's ending will be as miserable as his start...even if he and Ochako are married with kids. Bk shall be glorified for no reason (like the first epi) oh its indeed cyclical 🙄😒

1. I've heard about this novel. Izuku's just Horikoshi's punching bad isn't he? It feels vastly OOC for the girls to say something like that. Admittedly, Izuku doesn't have many visible romantic qualities shown, but he doesn't have any negatives either. He's a fair bit younger than me so I won't comment on looks past him being a cutie pie, but I would think Kaminari would be the pick for bad boyfriend. He might not be as bad as Mineta, but he does condone and sometimes encourage Mineta's behavior. I don't have a lot of issues with Kaminari and he's matured quite a bit, but he definitely wouldn't be in the running from my POV (better than Bakugou at any rate)

2. I sure hope that the kid who's been at the forefront of a war would be respected

3. I hate to say it but probably not :( We've never seen Izuku affirm his confidence in himself. Self doubt and self resentment is part of him and I don't think Hori even thinks it's an issue

4. Luckily, Eri, Katsuma, and Kota are good indicators. Uraraka too. Izuku does inspire people. Though, it's overshadowed by Bakugou apparently also inspiring 1A with him (more bs from Aizawa)

Isn't it beautiful how is Izuku the one who always serves as an inspiration to the people around him? beyond the characters of Kirishima, Kaminari and being generous to one of those children in the exams to get his hero license. Bakugou was never able to inspire anyone, but Izuku continues to inspire his friends, classmates, heroes, and even those who classify themselves as villains like Gentle and Nagant.

Thats why izuku is the truest hero. Not only is he ready to safe and protect villains and gives them a second chance, he also inspires other heroes to do their very best and become true heroes too. He shows so much sympathy to children with a shitty childhood like eri and kota, stands up for people who are mistreated by their society like he was, but never askes or wishes for his own justice (thats actually not really a good thing, because izuku needs to learn that he has the right for asking for his own justice), and that shows how truly selfless he is!

Look at bakugou in comparison. He would never safe or protect a villain, because they arent even humans in his eyes. Would never give them a second chance or listen to them (aoyama is different, because he is a classmate and not REALLY a villain, even bakugou can difference between when someone made a choice willingly and when they were forced), children dont go to him because he makes them feel safe, he has whole phases of selfpity and likes to make his problems EVERYONES problems, he doesnt inspire his "friends" they only admire him simply for his quirk and because he is a "winner" and thats actually quite ironic, if you realize what a big ass damsel in distress bakugou actually is, never won a single fight outside of ua and needs his ass to be saved EVERY SINGLE TIME! Bakugou is only good in school related stuff, outside in the "real world" he is a big damn loser! Meanwhile izuku safed more people, won against more villains and inspired more to become better people, then bakugou was busy with screaming, having hissing temper tantrums and insulting others. He is simply not fit to be a hero. Did he change for the better? Yes! Did he change so much you can say he is a different and better person now? No! Bakugous core character and with it all the problems about him are still the same! After 370 chapters or so bakugous character has changed only enough for hori to write a chapter titel thats says: "the guy who (only) changed a little".

Its really beyond me how anyone can look at bakugou and think that this guy is fit to become the nr. 1 hero. Its beyond me how his classmates inclusive izuku can look at bakugou and think he is a great guy, admire him for his strengh and see him as a winner type. And I really hope the day may come that espicially izuku realizes that there is nothing about bakugou to admire him for. And as a dfo fan, I hope this realization comes with bakugou saying something about killing afo (after the reveal) and izuku finally loses it. Not because afo isnt a asshole and doesnt deserve to die a horrible death, but because for izuku its still his dad and heroes arent supposed to kill! I want a fight between izuku and bakugou with izuku finally letting all out what bakugou did to him for 12 years! And I want the rest of class a listen in horror and their rosa bubble bakugou floats in their minds to finally burst! I want iida, ochako, todoroki, kirishima etc. To tell bakugou to stay away from izuku if he really is sorry for his actions so izuku can finally heal. He deserves that!

Is Izuku Midoriya a boring character? Yes.

Absolutely so.

Here's why below the cut. As a general warning there will be spoilers so don't click this shit if ya haven't read any of the manga. This is just my opinion and how I'm perceiving the manga. Not some weird stab at deku stans or the like. I just wanna put this out here cause it's fun to explore.

Izuku is your typical MC in a shonen manga, friendly, bit meek, likable. We start off with two obvious and main conflicts of the story, Izuku is one of the RARE few without a quirk and his former best friend that tells him to kill himself as he's more likely to get a quirk in his next life than this one which sets up some sweet irony as Izuku does indeed get a quirk. I'd also like to point out early in that I realize there are deeper and more underlying conflicts that affect the story as a whole but currently these two issues are more closely related to Izuku.

As far as personality Izuku hasn't changed much. Still the optimistic, happy go lucky with some small down trodden moments that is typical of a main character. Surface level and nothing more than skin deep has been explored making Izuku one dimensional. If anything it feels as if his character has reversed since he was given his quirk.

All Might saw the act of heroics and decides then and there this kid is going to be the next user of One for All (OFA). Izuku now has his dreams come true by a single swallow of hair before enduring a bit of a challenge with training. Which he will encounter again and again as his body isn't strong enough for OFA, understandably so since he was both born without a quirk and didn't train before being bestowed the heavy burden of responsibility.

Before his quirk we see Izuku's true hero heart when he sees Bakugou, who literally just told him to off himself, in trouble. A crowd of grown ass adults watch this boy suffocate and be essentially ingested in front of them but take no action as a "hero will handle it."

Once Izuku sees the fear and desperation in Bakugou's eyes he springs into action. No game plan nothing, his body, in his own words, moved on its own. Which this dialogue will be paralleled later by Bakugou as the two slowly take on a ying and yang theme that we will explore later.

Izuku brings many characters through their own arcs of growth both big and small throughout the entire manga. Most notably Bakugou, although Izuku's involvement could be considered more indirect, Bakugou still changes and adapts to better keep up with Izuku under the motto of Win to save and Save to win. Another important, foreshadowing-esque aspect that would make for excellent story telling.

Now we know Izuku is strong in body and in mind. We watch as he continues to pour into others from a seemingly empty cup. A perfect set up for a small break that could happen later on. We see small glimspes into what I'll call Izuku's darker side or even hidden rage. An emotion he does not often engage in, at least not for himself. Usually Izuku is passive about his own thoughts and feelings, more worried about the aggressor's feelings and emotions or whoever he is protecting. Shouto it's your power, when fighting Stain, saving Eri and Kota etc. ( Again unlike Bakugou who actively rages and speaks his mind, unafraid or aware enough to voice exactly how he's feeling. )

The rage or "darker side" first rears its ugly head when we watch Bakugou get taken through the portal as he hisses don't come for me while Izuku shouts GIVE ME BACK MY KAACHAN. Izuku then tries to organize a rescue party amongst his peers in order to rescue Bakugou from LOV. This is the first time we see Izuku, who absolutely adores heroes to the point of keeping detailed notes for fun, not believe in their ability. Especially not to save someone he considers himself close to. A silent introduction to the reader about the true colors of hero society which only get highlighted after Bakugou's rescue and the fall of All Might.

Now this is where the story could start getting really, really good. Teeming with character development.

Class 1A has been exposed, twice now, to direct criminal activity under the "sanctity" of UAs safeguard. Which at this point had been unheard of but the hero commission and the school board take it in their own best interest to further indoctorate these young children to lay their lives down for the "greater good" in what is no an inevitable war. (which could have been prevented but that's an entire OTHER essay about the parallels of IRL government and the hero society that I'm not equipped enough to make)

Pushing the children harder, longer hours, more trianing. Faster paced schooling and even skipping to internships that were normally a 3rd year on the cusp of adulthood activities.

We watch Todoroki, Bakugou, Ochaco (although no where nearly in depth which given the genre of manga) and most of class 1A grow into themselves and their quirks. And sure we can say Izuku is maturing and growing as well but in the same hand I don't think he's learned a damn thing at all. He still pushes his body well beyond it's limits even to the point he could risk permanently damaging his muscles and ligaments. He pushes himself mentally far beyond what a teenager should and still shoulders the burden of a grown ass man's secret that he only shares with Bakugou for the time being because Bakugou was quick to figure it out.

We turn to the first Shigi v Deku showdown. Starting to get angry the more and more people fall around him but especially so when Bakugou steps in to take the hit from Shigiraki head on. Bakugou had just "moved on his own" when going to save Izuku.

Control your heart becomes the main conflict for Izuku from this point forward. Which again, could be an excellent set up for development as we clearly see Izuku doesn't have a lot of healthy coping mechanisms or even people he can confide any of his heavy emotions in, other than maybe Bakugou.

But even still when he goes rogue it is more so to protect others around him since Izuku knows he is being targeted. Easier to bear the weight of the world on his own, as the chosen one often does, than to trust fully in your friends/peers capabilities.

Now class 1A shows up for Izuku, all of them if I'm not mistaken and care for him, reassure him that things aren't going to go south and that he doesn't have to do it alone.

Fast-forward to the current arc, which is another long winded essay I'll spare you as it crumbles after Bakugou dies. Now I'm not saying as a Bakugou Stan I'm just mad he's dead, nah I think I would have PREFERRED he stayed dead over whatever the fuck this denim heart, Edge shot living inside his chest shit is. However Bakugou's death or possible death could have been an excellent set up to the true climax.

The break, the snap.

The moment the strong, grin and bear it character, the has morals, will be a true hero and save everyone even the villain SNAPS.

No pupils, no thoughts propelling him other than the grizzly scene of dying, dead heroes and most importantly Bakugou.

Imma break down the first panel below.

Right away we are hit with heavy emotions as Izuku takes in the scene. His eyes going where you may ask? BAKUGOU FUCKING KATSUKI FIRST. Which Izuku was spared an even more horrific image cause at least Bakugou looks more cleaned up here and is "fixed up". We see the shock on Izuku's face, see his heart fall into his stomach as he realizes and then we see him notice the card. Now in this moment, the bloodied card that Bakugou kept with him all this time, Izuku realizes exactly what it means. The card symbolizing their friendship that prideful Bakugou first pushed down since the day of their little miscommunication, Bakugou through all his mean fucked shit he said and through his apology that he meant, carried Izuku's friendship with him.

Now we see the horror, the slow leak of rationality as his heart rate increases. As he fully digests what exactly he's seeing. His best friend lies dead.

The same very friend we first saw the glimpse with, then again the full blown episode and finally the one who kept propelling Izuku forward as both characters uplift and yet fight to "stay out of the others shadow." Since both are too prideful or dumb to figure out they are equals, balance to the other side.

Win to save, save to win. All for one, One for All.

Are we getting the parallels yet?

THIS WAS THE FUCKING TURNING POINT TO SET UP THE REVERSAL OF BAKUGOU AND IZUKU'S CHARACTERS. The "bad" in Izuku finally coming out as he loses all thought to do anything but eradicate Shigiraki from this realm and in turn AFO. Where Bakugou could have, even with his denim heart, woken up and STOPPED IZUKU with the calm controlled manner that Izuku usually has.

"YA SAID YA WANTED TO FUCKIN SAVE HIM REMEMBER?" "I DONT SEE YA SMILING IZUKU."

Bringing Izuku back to his senses, where he can control his heart and do what he said he would do. Save everyone, including Tomura who was discarded by the fucked society he wants to destroy.

But instead we get this.

Miro, an older teen he only met last year and fought along side once, and turn this fucking wilding out raging deku fully consumed by emotion into this?

I doubt it. I don't know if any of you have ever experienced anger to a point that you black out, but sometimes even people you love and care for cannot reach you in that state. All rational thought is gone.

This was a moment for Bakugou and Izuku.

The fact that Miro tells him to chil and Izuku does right away. No one holds him back, he still stamps down his emotions, does nothing that we can see as far as training or even exploring his depth of rage, especially for Bakugou that so obviously triggers these emotional response. Izuku is just born perfect and lovable. Nothing to change.

He gets to fight this fight fully fine? Fully in tune with a zen enough state of mind to hone his anger like a sword? Dog he hasn't even explored his anger as fucking whole and you're telling me he just gets it under control after he's entered that state first try?

His ever perfect, ever controlled emotion, ever optimistic and doing the good and ultimately right thing the first time, every time is lack luster. A slap in the face to it and those heroes that did lose their lives and the trauma all of these young teens are going to experience

Not only that but it is a disservice to Izuku's character development in general.

Izuku is stagnant, not only in this arc but through the entirety of the manga. Nothing changes him at his core or alters him for the better or worse. He's still good Izuku taking on the world and the problems all on his own.

This is what makes Izuku Midoriya boring

Grief

Izuku Midoriya was familiar with grief. Throughout his life, his precious heart loved too much. So when tragedy struck, the pain oftentimes felt unbearable. His generosity was taken advantage of far too many times. His compassion was abused. He lost people faster than he gained. Izuku Midoriya was very familiar with grief.

His father disappeared for a job across the world. Hisashi was too busy to send a text. He was too busy to say happy birthday. He was never there. All he was, was an idea. Only the thought of him existed to Izuku. The grief he felt from losing someone he never knew hurt the worst.

The people Izuku considered friends left him at the drop of a hat. No one stuck around. No one defended him. They changed faster than Izuku could comprehend. One second they played in the sand and in the next they were throwing sand at him. They were no longer people Izuku knew.

Izuku lost the one person he desired the most. Katsuki Bakugo became a star. Something so far away he’d never dream of being able to touch. Katsuki glowed and shined brilliantly. He was perfect in Izuku’s eyes. Izuku would chase Katsuki, refusing to give up. While the new version of his friend wasn’t tasteful, Izuku still knew how amazing Katsuki was deep down.

As Izuku grew up so did his list of losses. Quirkless people that he would meet on social media died. Once he got into U.A. he gained a lot of friends and strong adult figures, but just like in the past, people still left. His teachers died, many heroes died, villains died, and innocent civilians died. Midoriya at one point ran away, having to lose everyone he cared about to keep them safe. He watched the world crumble around him. Some of the people he held closest almost became memories.

Through all of it, Izuku persevered. He dealt with grief in many different ways. His method always changed and alternated depending on what and how.

Izuku was now in the middle of his third year at U.A. and couldn’t have been happier. His friends were alive, his teachers were alive, and villains were at an all-time low since the rise of quirks decades ago. Heroes were still needed by all means, but the League of Villains no longer existed and no war was about to break out.

Izuku had time to visit Eri and Kota more often as his workload was not nearly as big as it was in his first year attending U.A. The kids grew so much within two years. One day Aizawa informed Izuku he would need a babysitter for Eri. Izuku dropped everything to do so. Izuku took her out to the school’s garden, finding it a beautiful day to go outside.

Katsuki and Shoto got asked by Hatsume to go get Izuku quickly. She needed his opinion on some gear she was making for a first-year. They wanted recommendations and Hatsume knew asking the quirk analyst would help shorten down her list of ideas. The duo tracked him down to the garden with Eri after asking around.

Eri was currently weaving some flowers together, mimicking Izuku’s instructions. Izuku had asked about Aizawa and how she enjoyed living with him. Eri was more than happy to talk about her father, but suddenly she went quiet.

“Eri-chan? Is something wrong?” asked Izuku, worried that the chattering girl suddenly went silent.

Eri seemed to be contemplating something before looking up at Izuku. “Mister Deku, I have a question.”

“Go ahead,” encouraged Izuku, knowing Eri would ask no matter what. She knew she could ask Izuku anything.

Eri sat down the half-weaved flowers on the ground and focused on Izuku. “What is your Dad like? I can’t remember you ever telling me about him.”

“Oh, that’s because I never met him Eri. He went away for work before I got a chance to remember him,” revealed Midoriya, speaking to her in a soft tone.

“Why was he away for work for so long?” questioned Eri, not understanding why Izuku’s dad just wouldn’t be around.

Izuku shrugged, weaving Eri’s flowers for her. “I don’t know. His work was too important I suppose.”

Eri frowned, sad Izuku’s dad wasn’t around. “What about others?”

“Others?” repeated Izuku back to Eri, confused about what she meant.

“Yeah. The grandpas and grandmas and stuff. All of those people!” revealed Eri, a chipper grin on her face.

“Well, when I was young… they seemed to leave,” chuckled Izuku, unable to bring himself to tell her why.

Eri’s eyes widened, shocked Izuku was a lot like her. “Why did they all leave?”

Katsuki and Shoto arrived at the garden, spotting the two. They approached and saw the two talking. The expressions on Eri and Izuku’s faces signaled they were having a serious conversation. Katsuki walked right over, shamelessly snooping. Shoto went right alongside Katsuki. He wanted to know what Izuku was talking about.

Izuku was quick to come up with something, anything to keep Eri from getting too upset. He raised his head to see the sky peek through the leaves of the tree they were under.

“Sometimes special people come into our lives, stay for a bit, and then they have to go.”

Eri frowned, scooting closer to Izuku. “But that’s sad.”

“It is,” agreed Izuku solemnly. Izuku returned his gaze to Eri, resting his hands on the cloth of his slacks, smoothing out the wrinkles. He remembers how it felt to lose Toshinori. The news that Toshinori wouldn’t be around for much longer struck him in the gut so hard he couldn’t move. He couldn’t lie and say that it wasn’t hard. He smiled softly at her, tilting his head to the side. “But the bit where they were here was happy wasn’t it? Like Lemillion. When he was around, those were happy times.”

Eri’s eyes lit up, seeing the point Izuku was making. She giggled, a bright smile appearing as she nodded. “Yes! I brought his quirk back!”

Izuku hummed, nodding his head in acknowledgment. He recalled how monumental of a moment that was for everyone. Still, the thought reminded him of the war where no one walked away a winner. He pushed those feelings down, finding unconditional love for the girl he saw as his little sister.

“Maybe that makes it all worth it,” chuckled Midoriya, looking down at the flowers before putting one in her hair.

Eri smiled, touching the flower happily. She could understand what Izuku was saying. She missed Mirio always being around, but the time when he was around was a happy time. It made the time he was away bearable.

Shoto stood there, gripping the fabric of his shirt. He could feel his heart pound beneath his knuckles. The expression on Izuku’s face gnawed at him. The way Izuku said everything so mindlessly made Shoto realize Izuku thought of loss, a lot. Shoto lost a lot in his life, yet he couldn’t begin to deal with the grief in healthy ways. It took outside help to get to the point he was currently at. Even with the help he got, he couldn’t say there was anything that made it worth it. Not losing Toya, Rei, and the list of others he lost.

Katsuki watched with a blank expression. No matter what Izuku did, he couldn’t hide anything from Katsuki. Katsuki could see the strain in that smile. He could see the exhaustion replace the hope that was once in Izuku’s eyes. It made his palms sweaty. The way he felt was similar to the way a person would get when they had an itch they couldn’t scratch.

Katsuki loved Izuku. Izuku was like a porcelain sculpture, handcrafted by the heavens. Izuku's heart was made out of gold and he had the strength that could rival Gods and Goddesses. Katsuki looked at Izuku and drowned in hills of green. Izuku was the human embodiment of green: symbolic of life. His eyes, his hair, his everything.

Katsuki fell hard and Izuku had no clue. He watched Izuku tend to Eri with the maternal instincts he knew mimicked Inko. He knew deep down what Izuku was thinking the whole time. He knew what Izuku went through and how he dealt with losing people. Katsuki knew he had scared Izuku on numerous occasions when it came to “going away”.

Katsuki was about to step up and ruin the special moment, but Eri stopped him in his tracks. “Mister Deku… I don’t want you to go. You’re special.”

Izuku looked at Eri and his eyes widened. “Eri, I’m not going anywhere.”

“But you’re going to be a hero next year.”

“I am, but that doesn’t mean I’m leaving you,” reassured Izuku, giving her an earnest smile.

“You’re not?” sniffled Eri.

Izuku scooped her into a gentle embrace. “Nope. Never ever.”

Eri cried into Izuku’s shoulder, hugging him tightly. Izuku rubbed circles on her back as tears made their way down his cheeks. His smile cracked as he listened to the relieved cries of Eri. Izuku pulled back and tucked her fly-away hair behind her ear before wiping away her tears. “You won’t be going anywhere either. You’re just as special.”

Eri smiled, patting Izuku’s tears as well. “Never! I’d never leave!”

Izuku laughed, rising to his feet and extending a hand out to her. “Good, because who else would I have tea parties with?”

“Yeah, and you can’t leave because no one else can make me candy apples,” threatened Eri adorably, taking Izuku’s hand and jumping up.

Izuku patted her head, smiling fondly. “Speaking of food, it’s about time we get you some lunch. What are you hungry for today?”

Katsuki revealed himself to Izuku and Eri. Todoroki magically appeared beside Katsuki and waved at the two. “Hi.”

Izuku’s face lit up. “Kacchan! Shoto!”

Katsuki crossed his arms. “Hatsume needs your help when you get the chance. Also, I’m making us lunch today. You’ll burn down the kitchen.”

“I’m completely capable of cooking Kacchan,” sassed Izuku, raising a brow. Izuku had cooked before Katsuki on numerous occasions.

Shoto lowered his head in shame. “I can’t cook.”

Eri smiled up at Shoto. “Me neither! We are the same!”

Shoto perked up, nodding at the small child. “We are.”

Izuku was distracted by the two’s little scene and smirked. “Well, neither of you has to worry about that. It seems that Kacchan has you covered since he won’t let me cook.”

“Ha! Don’t try and do that guilt-tripping bullshit Izuku,” roared Katsuki, all bark no bite.

Izuku smiled, shrugging his shoulders. “Just saying the truth Kacchan. Let’s go then, me and Eri are hungry.”

As the four made their way into the main building, Katsuki wrapped an arm around Izuku’s shoulder and bit his chubby cheek. Izuku, used to the violent forms loving Katsuki showed, lightly bonked his head against Katsuki’s.

“Nothing makes it worth it if I can’t have you by my side,” murmured Katsuki into Izuku’s ear.

Izuku’s heart melted at Katsuki’s voice and his words of affirmation. Izuku leaned his head on Katsuki’s shoulder, using his free hand to wrap around his bicep. “You know I can’t live without you either,” whispered Izuku.

Izuku may be used to grief… but he will never be prepared when the time comes he loses the ones he holds the closest for good. But for now, Izuku has everything he could ever want. Eri, Shoto, and Katsuki had everything they could ever want. As cheesy as it sounded, it was because they had each other. They had love to keep the grief at bay or they made themselves believe so.

Till The Clock Stops by The Loser Candle

Izuku Midoriya? No one in Aldera Junior High remembers a boy that goes by the name of that. Inko Midoriya is nowhere to be found but records of her never seemed to have existed. So why does a pro hero remember meeting a boy along the names of such? All evidence of the boys existence seems to be erased. Eraserhead clearly remembers a boy in a junior high uniform asking if he too can be a hero. Battered and broken a boy with green hair and hopes for a better life never existing? No there was more going on behind than this.

Izuku is a mystery to those around him and somehow Aizawa ends up being a father to him ((Cross posted from Wattpad!!!))

Out of curiosity, how has the project of the crossover Kamen Rider going?

It's been going well. It's caused me to come up with several other ideas, so I'm taking my time to test them all out and see what ones really speak to me when writing them.

So far, I have

Kamen Rider OOO + Miraculous Ladybug

The Greeed appear in Paris during Hawkmoth's attack on the city and cause more chaos for the people there.

The story would follow the new OOO, their little sibling, and Ankh as they try to collect Medals and stop Hawkmoth. All while Team Miraculous tries to capture the new OOO because of his ancestor's notoriety.

Kamen Rider W + Scooby-Doo

Instead of Philip, Scooby-Doo is the one who has access to the Gaia Library and he, Shaggy, and the rest of the gang have to fight an evil organization by solving mysteries/cases connected to this organization.

Kamen Rider Drive + Fillmore

Largely the same as the Kamen Rider Drive series, but with the Fillmore characters aged up as adult police officers and replacing the main cast.

It basically follows Fillmore as he tries to stop the Roidmude.

Kamen Rider Ex-Aid + Glitch Techs

This one is a mix of both series. The stories and other parts are mixed together. Such as Bugsters's first forms being Glitches instead of those clay structure forms.

It will follow a gamer who joins Glitch Tech after taking the Game Driver away from its original user (Mitch Williams) and using it better than him.

Kamen Rider Ryuki + Descendants (the Disney movie series, not my story)

Someone gives kids of the Isle and young royalty of Auradan Advent Decks and has them compete in a Kamen Rider Battle Royale, with the winner getting one wish.

This one has my own characters replacing the main cast as well. The current plan is to have it follow three kids specifically. The son of King Adam (Beast) and Queen Belle, the son/daughter of Hades and Maleficent, and the son of Gaston and an unnamed woman.

Kamen Rider Blade + Yu-Gi-Oh

Same plot as Kamen Rider Blade but with different characters.

Now this story I am split on. It's either having four original characters or the protagonists of the first four series as the riders.

If I go four different original characters then the king, queen, and jack would look like this.

King = Protagonist

Queen = Female love interest of one of the Yu-Gi-Oh characters

Jack = sidekick/rival Yu-Gi-Oh character

If I go with all the first four Yu-Gi-Oh series protagonists, then the main rivals would be the Kings instead. Either way, the Yu-Gi-Oh characters would be corrupted versions of what they are in the show.

Kamen Rider Zi-O + My Hero Academia

This one follows Izuku Midoriya becoming the greatest hero in the world instead of Sougo Tokiwa becoming the greatest king. He'd be traveling across the time-space continuum collecting Ridewatches with his friends/enemies, who are future versions of Eri and Kota. The two being sent back in time to destroy The Great Demon, Zi-O. As well as his fanatic believer Himiko Toga/Spinner/Re-Destro (it's still in the works).

Getting in his way are the Time Jackers, which are Tomura, All For One, and some of the Vanguard Action Squad members.

Kamen Rider Decade + Penn Zero Part-Time Hero

This one follows Pen, Boone, and Sashi as they travel through the rider-verse to try and stop an evil organization from defeating and stealing the riders' powers. All while Pen is mixed up with an evil version of himself.

Kamen Rider Wizard + The Owl House

This one follows Luz, a wizard-in-training, as she tries to fight the mostly evil race of witches led by Belos to try and overthrow the human world. Throughout the adventure, she makes friends with a few of them and wants humans/wizards/and witches to co-exist.

Kamen Rider Build + either Star Vs The Forces of Evil or Phineas and Ferb

This one is another one that I'm split on. So, I'm going to explain both plots.

The SVTFOE plot follows Star being sent to Earth after Pandora's Box splits the world into three sections/groups. There she teams up with the new Build and his family to save the Earth, learn about becoming a ruler, and maybe some family secrets along the way.

The PAF plot follows Phineas and Ferb becoming amnesiacs like Sento and their journey of trying to discover who they are, end the war, and defeat Evolto.

So the project is going relatively well. I'm taking my time, and we'll see where I take each of these ideas.

gunjou no fanfare review

I really wanted to like it. It’s horse boys. I like horses. It looked like there was thought and care put into it with big names like sawano and oreimo guy and joi (jay oh won and not Joy-ee).

I was not expecting the BL vibes from the first episode. I wonder if that turned off a lot of the viewers. I mean I definitely wasn’t expecting it from this sort of thing. I don’t know the producers/writers enough to know if the LGBT thing is legit or not. But I don’t trust like that.

Ngl I was expecting more from Yu. He’s kinda boring. Yeah the backstory is interesting to see him go through the change from being an idol to something totally unrelated and having to face the backlash of it. Unfortunately he’s not very interesting personality wise. He’s kind of just A Guy. Not really even an endearing one. Iunno, he hadn’t really done anything that stood out to me. I was waiting the entire series to see what captivated him about horse racing that he dropped his idol career for. I was thinking something about the spiritual horse visions or whatever that he would sometimes see, but it didn’t really add up for me. I just didn’t get it.

I guess that final race with Shun showed what he always saw when he was horse racing? Was that it? I guess it went over my head. And I guess CEO was his adoptive mother that she groomed him into idol-ing so it was just him growing up and being his own person that he chose to do horse racing.

Anyway next chara, Star girl horse boy jockey Manami Shun. I didn’t like him at first because he came off as the natural prodigy kind (which he was and I dont care for those kind of charas). I liked him more when he went through the kisuke arc. Only because I enjoyed seeing someone who’s usually all smiles finally cry and break down. I’m… not totally surprised that he chose not to stay a jockey. He really didn’t feel like the competitive type and more of the whimsical Horse Boy type.

Other characters uh… Eri Is There. The fact that they had a staple girl but didn’t do much with her other than to say She Is The Girl. Rip.

I liked Aki’s reveal because after Amane came in, I was like we can’t have Two antagonists being mean to Yu at the same time can we? but it was for different reasons and it was great. Theres not much else with his chara tho other than being the red haired hothead osakan, because of course he is.

Hayato’s character arc was the best. I wish we got a little more on him and his friend but most of their backstory was through their word of mouth. I don’t really care about his friend though. Real BL hints dropped in that last ep. (HAYATO PONYTAIL IM GONE!!!!!!!)

Kota was my favorite and I honestly think it might have been more interesting if he was the main chara just because he was an underdog type of chara. Lol maybe I just want my MCs to be a nervous wreck and a noob and I want to see them climb up. (i was rooting for Amane/kota, but I’m sorry nobody could handle my big brain) I can’t say that I didn’t like his growth because I’m proud of him, but he’s just a side chara at the end of the day. rip

Amane was fun but he didn’t really do much. He was supposed to be the Punkass rival but huh? Hanae’s English isn’t the worst but I kinda wish they got someone with better English to voice him. Kind of breaks the immersion sometimes. (Him and sakurai sensei having the English off was funny ngl)

Like can I even call this a sports anime? I don’t really even feel it? Like maybe if there was like, a chara from a rival school and they’d like “let’s meet on the track” kind of thing. I think if we got them racing each other like in the last few episodes earlier I might have thought it was more sporty but I understand if they want it to be realistic and can’t jump right to riding horses without all the build up.

The horse racing world just feels very Adult. Which is maybe why the series is about Adolescence and seeing the jockeys grow up. There were definitely a lot of time skips and they felt a little older when they were doing their internships. The little fake out in the beginning of the last ep gave me real Yuru Camp vibes lol. I love timeskips so I kind of wish we actually got to see it that way.

How do I feel about the BL “bait”. Like, I don’t know the creators intentions, like, Can I Say that they meant to write Yu and Shun as intertwined souls? Yeah, definitely. It could be LGBT friendly without making the homophobes too mad I guess. Like the way Run With the Wind did it, I guess. But I think Yu and Shun had a little more soft scenes that I’m fine with it. I guess.

Kinda mad that Yu got Shun’s horse whispering powers though. I mean, I get it, in that way that its like “Shun as a jockey is dead but Shun wants Yu to take him with him as he rides horses” or something.

Also, not really sure what the ghost horse on the right trail symbolizes? The path to jockeyness? Because Yu takes it when he can but Hayato doesn’t see it, and Shun chooses not to go that path. Yeah something like that I guess.

Uhhhh all in all, that… certainly was a show. I guess I was expecting something a little more wholesome because horses were involved? Even though that makes no sense because horses are delicate and stupid creatures apparently. The whole horse racing as a sport feels gross to me though, because I always get those “middle age old men smoking and betting all their money” vibes from it.

Kuwaza Hana

Kuwaza Hana, to be known as Hanahaki, is a 6 year old girl who lives at the Fat Gum Agency. She occasionally stays at UA with Kusune Lucía and Eri.

Appearance

Hana has pale skin and long, green hair kept in pigtails. She has light pink eyes. She stands at 112 cm, and has a chubby stature.

Personality

Hana is a shy, quiet child at first. She is often scared and hides behind people's legs. She is closed off to others and always has wide, frightened eyes, like a deer. She speaks very quietly, if at all. Hana is prone to crying, and often has trouble sleeping.

Later on, she becomes more comfortable with her environment and comes out of her shell. She turns into a very hyper, excitable child. She likes to run around and play with toys, and likes talking to people and playing games with them. She enjoys candy, tea parties, and bedtime stories. Hana is rather loud and jumpy.

In the future, she attends UA with Eri and Kota. She is proud and bold, and likes to take the lead. She is confident and expressive, and often acts or speaks before thinking. In combat and training, she uses her Quirk effectively for offense, defense, support and healing.

Relationships

Family

Hana was born to two parents, but her father died shortly after she was born. Her mother was determined to take care of her by herself, but struggled, and had to turn to shadier means of survival. Eventually, she got herself tangled up with the wrong group of villains, whom she owed money. They had her killed, and almost killed Hana, but she was saved by Lucía before they could. She stays at Fat Gum Agency and sometimes goes to UA with Eri.

Friends

Hana's friends are Eri, Lucía, Kirishima Eijiro, Amajiki Tamaki and Fat Gum. She is especially close to Lucia, who saved her, and Fat Gum, who she lives with. Eri is often her playdate, and they get along very well whenever she visits UA to see her, Lucía, Kirishima and Amajiki.

When she goes to UA, Hana's friends are Eri and Kota. She is very close with Eri, having known her since they were both 6, and meets Kota at the UA entrance exam. They are all in class 1-A and are promising hero candidates. Kota takes a while to warm up to Hana and Eri, but they quickly become inseparable.

Quirk

Basic function

Hana's Quirk is called Flowering. She uses her own stores of water and energy to create any kind of flower or other small plant that grows from her skin and hair. Making 10 small flowers takes about the same amount of energy as making 1 large flower. She needs more sunlight than the average person to make energy to grow her plants. Picking flowers from her skin hurts, but not her hair. The pain varies on the size of the plant, ranging from a needle prick to a finger being chopped off.

Special Moves

Pollen Attack: Hana will produce a pollenating flower, causing her opponent to experience allergies. Occasionally, she will make a flower whose pollen has poisonous properties, like causing rashes or hives.

Vine Prison: Hana will send vines out from her hair to wrap a person up, so they can't move or attack.

Blossom Shield: Hana will create a large flower, ranging from the size of her torso to the size of 3 people, that will cover her and her allies and block attacks.

Limitations/Weaknesses

Hana relies on water and sunlight for her Quirk. Overusing her Quirk leads to dehydration and fatigue. The plants that grow from her skin are connected to her nerves, and removing or damaging them causes pain to her.

Hana is the same age as Eri and Kota.

Hana is inspired to become a hero after being saved by Lucía.

Hana's favorite candy is gummy bears.

Hana's name means woods and flower.
