The 40 - A traumatic revelation
Hey ya'll I'm back with the next fan comic I promise you all!
Oh ho, drawing this fan comic of The 40's reaction to the ending of Death Note was a challenging one due to the lack of motivation and anticipation of the final chapter of Main Character Syndrome. And I got to say, it came out pretty good...for the most part.
Now, oh my gosh, the ending to Death Note regarding Light getting shot by Matsuda and nearly killed was quite a dramatic climax when I first watched it back in middle or high school. Then, I stumbled upon The_Ravenclaw_Werewolf's fanfic and became hooked on the possible reactions to the forty chosen anime of the main characters. I have to tell ya, emotions would be flying high for many of our anime audience as they watched Light Yagami's descent into madness and saw him stoop to many lows unimaginable for them.
But the one low I really would like to see The 40's reaction to Light is how he calls his own deceased father a "fool" whose idealism would only be inefficient in his new world, where it might as well registered to any sane person's mind that Light is saying that Soichiro deserves to die even though that probably wasn't his intention. That particular moment would be the trigger for those in The 40 with really bad Daddy Issues and probably go as far as hallucinating themselves in Matsuda's shoes opening fire on Light afterward.
----
For L, I know that he's the world's greatest detective in Death Note and saw plenty of nasty crimes committed by the most heinous serial killers while growing up, along with him being very stoic and cool-headed as a result of his own "quirks" and the desensitization of seeing death bodies to deal with the obvious high stress that comes with the job. However, emotions are not rational and I wouldn't put it past him to have an anxiety attack from witnessing something really bad (e.g. his scared reaction upon the mention of Shinigami for the first time in the manga), and obviously, L would be triggered in his own way after witnessing his own death and Watari's, the growing hatred he'll gain for Light, and to his own surprise when seeing himself in Matsuda's place as a result of his emotional imbalance and frankly, having enough of Light's bullshit. When drawing the hallucination L, I looked up the character art from the bad ending of The Boogyman regarding Keith Baring aiming a gun at the villain with his blood as tears coming down his eyes, which represents Keith's unresolved grief and guilt from being unable to cry from the death of his son.
For Edward, it's very obvious that he's got a deep-seated grudge against Hohenheim for his abandonment of him, his brother, and their mother (even if it was for good reason). But Edward witnessed Light's madness and willingness to endanger his own family for his delusions of godhood will, not if, earned him a spot on his hatred and would override any hate he has for his estranged father. Also, Edward has shown a very humanist approach as a State Alchemist by refusing to kill others, and he'll likely advocate for Light's imprisonment despite his hatred for him. Of course, it would come as a shock for Edward to see himself in Matsuda's place shooting Light multiple times before being readied to execute him with a headshot, showing that he's not ok, and ironically, jump-starting his resolve to reconcile with Hohenheim. When drawing the hallucination of Edward, I just included his tendency for dramatic facial expressions.
For Tohru, oh bless her kind heart, but I had to draw her reaction for the finale to Death Note. I don't know much about Fruits Basket but I have read the broad strokes from the TV Tropes page of it. Apparently, in the past Tohru once had a hatred for her late father due to his death causing her mother to neglect her for a time and almost commit suicide, though even then she recognizes it's wrong to feel that way. Seeing Light's father dying due to Light's actions, even on the possibility that Light actually feels guilty about it, would slowly bring that part of Tohru's personality back to the surface and the obvious guilt that'll come with it, and god forbid her breaking point upon witnessing Light calling his late father an "idealistic fool". Never mind that Light Yagami is going to be one of the many people that even an all-loving girl like Tohru would hate with all her heart in my opinion. Also, there's the cultural significance of Tohru seeing herself wielding a gun against Light in Matsuda's place. In Japan, there are very, very strict laws regarding citizens owning firearms, with only the police and military being allowed to own them. For a minor to be seen as willing to hold a gun is unthinkable given the whole "children are innocent" angle in Japanese culture and how every child in Japan is expected to have obedient and quiet deferential behavior toward authority figures. Plus, in Japanese culture, killing someone, even in self-defense no matter how justified, will always be seen as "murder". So unlike L (a detective) and Edward (a soldier hailing from a culture similar to Germany), the hallucination!Tohru holding a gun and being readied to fire upon a now defenseless Light, even if he did deserve to die, would really highlight to a native Japanese audience just how bad Tohru's sanity has taken a dive and the obvious shock she would have to the core. When drawing the hallucination Tohru, I took inspiration from Winery's design as she pulls a gun at Scar upon overhearing that he murdered her parents, because it was just perfect in my opinion and there were obviously weren't many images of Tohru having a "mad face" that would be appropriate for the climatic moment in the Death Note viewing.
For Rin, it'll be obvious for him to also hate Light Yagami, especially with how his actions killed his father, who had always wished that his son isn't Kira. Upon seeing his hallucination, Rin would be shocked and horrified to see himself as a demonic shadowy being damning Light for taking to his father for granted and it'll be a foreshadowing of what's to come when The 40 will view Blue Exorcist. When drawing the hallucination of Rin, I just decided to go with a silhouette to represent a "shadow archetype" of Rin due to his troubled childhood of being perceived as a demon child, along with Rin not seeing what would happen to his adoptive father, Shiro, in the viewing yet.
----
In conclusion, what are your thoughts on this fan comic and how accurate do you believe I drew the character's reactions to the finale of Death Note?
P.S. The next fan comic I'll be planning for The 40 will be in celebration of the recent release of chapter 3 for Poppy Playtime and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

The 40 - A starting point
@the-ravenclaw-werewolf and @purplemochi20055
So, after reading the fan comics created by purplemochi20055, I wanted to get my own crack at some potential future scenes in The 40 fanfic.
P.S. I'm also a cartoonist looking for work in illustration, visual storytelling, and character design by the way (although I don't really keep up my drawing skills every day)
----
For this scene, Spike is currently teaching Izuku Jeet Kune Do and they had hit a snag early in the latter's training. While Izuku is a serious student and pays close attention to Spike's lessons, the problem that plagues Izuku's ability to properly learn the martial art is that he keeps subconsciously trying to fight with brute force and strength, as a way to imitate his idol and future teacher, All Might. Seeing the problem and knowing what had Izuku told him about All Might's fighting style beforehand, Spike instructs Izuku to come at him with all he's got and promptly flips the broccoli-haired teen on his back.
As Izuku's murmurs at what had happened just now and slowly gets back up, Spike critiques his tenseness compared to his calmness, and due to Izuku applying excessive force, Spike can control that force through the fluid motion. All thanks to Spike being relaxed in full body and reacting without resistance, without thought. Concluding by asking Izuku if he saw it now, like clear water, and that Jeet Kune Do isn't about relentless offense.
While Izuku does understand the principle, he admits that he's still having trouble fighting differently from All Might. In response, Spike gives Izuku two important lessons that will play a big role by the time he goes back to his own world: 1) He needs to stop comparing himself to someone whose body structure, fighting style, and personality are very much different from his and 2) Spike quoting Pablo Picasso's famous saying: "Good artists copy, great artists steal." as an indirect way for Izuku learn and gain a revelation, with the moment foreshadowing his canon counterpart learning "Shoot Style" from All Might's own indirect lesson.
----
Anyway, that's all I have drawn for the moment, and planning on doing another fan comic that'll be pretty interesting regarding the climatic and dramatic scene where The 40 witness Matsuda almost killing Light Yagami.
Hoping that the final chapter of Main Character Syndrome comes out soon!

As Senku prepares to head to a planet filled with intelligent life, he combs through the big book of universal languages for verbal communication with the natives.

The 40 lives with the Neanderthal tribe (The 40 x Ice Age)
Tumblr media
----
@the-ravenclaw-werewolf, @purplemochi20055, @hulkchloron99, and @r3dp4nd4ch1ld
----
So...it's finally here!
The 40 have met the Neanderthal tribe and live amongst them for a whole week.
Thanks to the "all speak" gift bestowed upon them by the Entity, they can understand what language the Neanderthals communicate in.
In that short time, they taught the tribe many things and befriended the leader and his family. The 40 show them how to toil the land, grow edible plants and grains, and fish in the streams. The female members of The 40 would teach the concept and importance of matrilineality (which Nadia greatly appreciated despite already being treated well in the tribe due to being the "wife" of their leader) and that any female they sire or take in their tribe would be treated and taught to also carry out the duties of the male hunters. Most importantly, they would teach the tribe how to greatly respect the animals they hunt and kill for food by making it mandatory that all the remains of the animals that are unedible will be given a burial of sorts.
In the miscellaneous times, Levi would often converse with Runar, Senku working on pottery to make cups and containers for food and water, the woman and girls (aside from Emma) politely rejecting the "proposals" of the male hunters, Killua conversing with Nadia as they work on weaving baskets and making rope, and Emma playing with the infant Roshan by making a flower crown.
However, the vengeful Soto and his pack of Sabertooth tigers are undaunted by these "strange humans and the walking wolf". The plan to attack the tribe will continue, but they have to re-evaluate their initial plan due to seeing the obvious danger of just rushing in at night.

The 40: Catch the Bullet
Tumblr media
"To answer your question, you get to be a superhero by believing in the hero within you and summoning him or her forth by an act of will." - Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias
----
@the-ravenclaw-werewolf, @purplemochi20055, @hulkchloron99, and @r3dp4nd4ch1ld
----
I decided to bust out my drawing tablet and use Photoshop again to create a comic for The 40, and I will say...it's a start for me to brush up on my digital illustration skills.
Izuku has come a long way after his year-long intense training regiment compared to his Pre-Character Development self. But the most gracious physical feat he had performed that would make Bakugou jealous and All Might proud, was being able to catch a bullet fired from a revolver.
I was looking over Alan Moore's well-known comic, Watchmen, and was greatly interested in Ozymandias' character and the astonishing physical and mental feats he's able to perform after dedicating himself to training his mind and body by retracing the steps of Alexander the Great by traveling the world. The one thing that interests me about how he managed to become what he is, is through his interview in the second to last issue. Where Adrian firmly believes that anyone can do what he can achieve, as you need to have the belief and willpower to see it through.
And what do you know...Izuku manages to do the impossible after the many trials that await him in the year-long intense training regiment. Reacting immediately upon seeing an unknown assailant pull a revolver on him, and summoning all of his willpower and technique to time his catching of the bullet correctly. However, like with Ozymandias, Izuku's skin was damaged from the bullet due to the obvious friction from the speed it had. But it's still a great accomplishment compared to his pre-training self, as the bullet would've burst through his hand and killed him, never mind the idea that he could actually catch it.
----
Afterward reaction from the other members of The 40.
Spike Spiegel: Shhiieeeeeeeeettt kid...you actually caught it...
Levi Ackerman: Well I'll be damned...
Zuko: Izuku...you did it.
Korra: That...was the most craziest thing you have ever done.
Saitama: ...Good for him...
Mob: That was close!
Edward Elric: How is that possible?
Ishigami Senku: That can't be scientifically possible!
Gojo: Bwa ha ha ha! Amazing!
Hanako: That was close.
Souma: Holy crap!
Mako: Whoo hoo Izuku-kun!
Kobayashi: That was too close for comfort!
Tohru: (worryingly) Izuku-kun!
Chika: Hmm...I must keep a close eye on this one.
Haruka: ...Huh...
Naegi Makoto: He actually caught it!
Ciel Phantomhive: That was...impressive...
Katsuki Yuuri: That took some insane reaction speed.
Shouyou Hinata: Go for it Izuku!
Saiki Kusuo: I knew he would catch it. Looking at you Omnitheist27.
Suzui Ryōta: I wouldn't take a gamble like that.
Heine Wittgenstein: He has come a long way.
White Blood Cell / Neutrophil (U-1146): The medulla oblongata must be very active for him to do that.
Satō Mafuyu: ...
Hasegawa Langa: ...
Killua Zoldyck: While impressive for someone like Izuku, I've seen greater reaction time.
Kamado Tanjirou: Yeah! Izuku-san!
Kuroko Tetsuya: ...
Okumura Rin: I've got to train harder if I want to do that.
Fujioka Haruhi: That really was close.
Emma: Go Izuku!
Serinuma Kae: I've got to read Observepeople again!
L: To possess the will needed to pull that off...
Shiota Nagisa: I'm not sure if I want to do that...
Legoshi: So humans are capable of such feats.
Suzuki Iruma: I wonder if learning to catch a bullet would come in handy for school?
Fujinuma Satoru: That...is something you don't see every day.
Feliciano Vargas (North Italy): I'm starting to get flashbacks of Japan wanting to cut bullets.
----
Canon MHA cast reaction:
Midoriya Inko: (bawling) IZZUUUUUKKUUU!!!
All Might: (in English) Oh my...oh my...GOODNESS!!!
Bakugou Katsuki: Tch! I would've caught it as well!
Uraraka Ochako: You did it Deku-kun!
Iida Tenya: WHILE I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND SUCH ACTION, I WILL ADMIT MIDORIYA-SAN'S EFFORT!
Todoroki Shouto: Midoriya...
Asui Tsuyu: That was reckless Midoriya-san, but good job.
Mineta Minoru: HE'S INSANE!!! Although he was pretty cool.
Kirishima Eijiro: MANLY!!!
Shinso Hitoshi: Could I do that...
Togata Mirio: POWER!!!
Izumi Kota: Kick his ass Izuku!
Eri: D-D-Do your best Deku!
Shouta Aizawa: (to the rest of Class 1-A) If I catch any of you performing a stunt like that...

The 40 - A Discussion about the Nazarick NPCs
Tumblr media
----
@the-ravenclaw-werewolf, @purplemochi20055, @hulkchloron99, and @maximum18
----
I've been looking over the Overlord light novel series, and one thing I found funny would be The 40's reaction to the antics of miscommunication with Ainz and the Nazarick NPCs.
In this fancomic, we have The 40 expressing their bewilderment at how the Nazarick NPCs, in general, accept all of Ainz's obvious not-fully-true explanations and let them draw their own conclusions...and make it into something smarter than Ainz intended or didn't think of at all.
Sooner than later, The 40 realized that regardless of how false or contradictory a claim Ainz could make, the NPCs would accept it regardless due to them being programmed to be loyal to the "Supreme Beings" above all else, which is carried over to the New World.
Also, there's also the fact that the Nazarick NPCs mindset is equally terrifying to deal with just as it equally makes them humorous, given the atrocities they are willing to commit towards innocent humans, and even other heteromorph races, in the series (especially if you read the Light Novels, which shows the crimes and their thoughts of committing them that the manga and anime adaptations cut out or glossed over).

The 40 - RPG tutorial

So...it's been a while everyone.
In this fancomic, we have Edward and Senku playing YGGDRASIL (ユグドラシル Yugudorashiru), a DMMO-RPG (Dive Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) from the Overlord light novel series.
Aside from marveling over the advanced technology that allows people to upload their minds in a virtual world, the two of them are enjoying the wonders of role-playing as the heteromorphic race and seeing the entire realm of YGGDRASIL had to offer with plenty of missions and customizing items and weapons...so long as they can avoid encountering Human Race Players who are PKing those of the heteromorphic race.

The 40 - "Freedom"
Tumblr media
----
Listen to this song as you read the fan comic:
youtube
----
@the-ravenclaw-werewolf, @purplemochi20055, and @hulkchloron99
----
As the old saying goes: "Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes".
From what the beings of the multiverse have to offer, Izuku desires to understand his former friend Katsuki by gaining the Quirk, Explosion. They granted Izuku's wish by bestowing him a Quirk that's the same as Katsuki, and to Izuku's surprise and subsequent delight, activating Explosion feels like...in his own words..."freedom".
Once Izuku gets the hang of it, he gets into a kneeling position and lets his emotions and passions loose. Allowing him to achieve a short-lived flight through the air as the giddiness and wonder he always has deep down regarding the numerous times he saw Katsuki use his Quirk to propel himself in the air.
----
Canon MHA reactions:
Midoriya Inko: (teary-eyed happiness) Izuku...
All Might: "Freedom"...interesting...
Bakugou Katsuki: Of course, my Quirk would be awesome! But that damn nerd better get rid of it before he gets back!
Uraraka Ochako: (Happily) Deku-kun!
Iida Tenya: SUCH A GREAT AMOUNT OF APTITUDE!
Todoroki Shouto: Midoriya...I wonder how you'll fare with my Quirk...
Asui Tsuyu: I hope Midoriya-san doesn't get too overconfident. But good to see him enjoying himself
Mineta Minoru: He looks so cool flying.
Kirishima Eijiro: GO MIDORIYA!!!
Shinso Hitoshi: So that's how he feels about his friend's Quirk.
Togata Mirio: Keep flying Izuku!
Izumi Kota: Whoo hoo Izuku!
Eri: Fly high Deku!
Shouta Aizawa: Guess there's more to the problem child than I thought.

The 40 x Kill the Justice League (1/4)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
@the-ravenclaw-werewolf and @purplemochi20055
Hey everyone! I'm back again for the first part of this crossover fan comic between The 40 and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Ever since it was announced, I was excited for the video game's release since it's Arkhamverse Batman's return and final appearance by Rocksteady Studios. Oh, and paying tribute to the late Kevin Conroy's last performance providing the voice of Bruce Wayne/Batman.
When it did come out through early release playthroughs on YouTube...it was underwhelming but still an overall good game in my opinion.
----
I took inspiration from the scene where Wonder Woman was using the lasso of truth to restrain the brainwashed Flash. When she tries to get him to tell the truth through the lasso's magic regarding how to free the Justice League from Brainiac's control, The Flash, after regaining some semblance of control, eerily states that she has to kill them and they have to die to save the world.
As one of the members of The 40 whose been brainwashed by Brainiac and turned into an enforcer, Corrupted Deku is essentially Izuku whose earnest desire to be a hero is now twisted to serve Brainiac by killing anyone who tries to resist the cybernetic alien's attempt to terraform the Earth.
----
Profile: Corrupted Deku
Personality: Corrupted Deku lacks the original Izuku's shy and kind personality, instead, he's somewhat similar to Katsuki Bakugou's arrogance and hot-blooded attitude and is full-on sadistic in inflicting any potential enemy with a slow death if it's convenient for him (though he's still pragmatic enough to take the shot).
Powers and Abilities:
Artificial Quirk: Through Brainiac's vast knowledge of the multiverse, Corrupted Deku has been bestowed with an "artificial Quirk" of the alien android's creation.
Cybernetic enhancements: He's been cybernetically enhanced by Brainiac to not only have superhuman physical abilities but also be nearly immune to the friction that would build up from the constant movement of his super speed.
Superhuman Speed: The Artificial Quirk, in addition to his cybernetic enhancements, allows Corrupted Deku to move at extreme speeds, potentially at the speed of light. It functions better than his canon counterpart's Full Cowl (minus the other Quirk abilities he would unlock, starting with Black Whip in the Joint Training Arc), making his powerset closer to a user of the Speed Force.
Superhuman Strength: Corrupted Deku possesses an unprecedented amount of superhuman strength, and can potentially go further in conjunction with his super speed.
Superhuman Endurance and Durability: Corrupted Deku is extremely durable from physical harm and capable of enduring the friction build-up of his super speed.
Superhuman Reflexes and Accelerated Perception: Corrupted Deku can react at extreme speeds and can slow his perception of the world to the point that everything moves slowly.
Superhuman Intelligence: His already above-average intellect has been enhanced to a genius level one, allowing him to formulate over 100 different scenarios with a high success rate.
Regenerative Healing Factor: Corrupted Deku is fitted with cybernetics that is capable of self-healing, allowing him to regenerate and heal from damaged and/or lost tissue.
Wind Generation: He can create cyclones and tornados through his super speed.
Lightning Throw: Corrupted Deku can charge up Lightning from his Artificial Quirk and cybernetics to throw at potential targets.
Invisibility: He can move so fast that he can disappear from the sight of the naked eye.
----
Also, much like in how the brainwashed members of the Justice League had to die in ''Kill the Justice League'', Izuku and all the other members of The 40 who have been brainwashed also have to die for them to be stopped. Making it a very, very, very personal and angst-filled adventure for Zuko and all the other non-brainwashed members of The 40.
To make it even worse, Corrupted Deku and the brainwashed members of The 40 have already been racking up a body count estimated to be over 5000 people (including children, infants, and the unborn) by the time Zuko and the other non-brainwashed members of The 40 go off to fight them.
As for the identities of the other members of The 40 whose been brainwashed? Well...you'll just have to wait and see~
----
Lastly, I just want to say that the next fan comic will be about The 40 exploring random parts of Poppy Playtime and dealing with the mascot villains plus learning about the lore of Playtime Co.
And, I just want to say Happy Lunar New Year's Eve! On the zodiac, I'm the rat! 🐭

The 40 x Poppy Playtime (2/4)
Tumblr media
@the-ravenclaw-werewolf and @purplemochi20055
Senku just can't catch a break, can he?
So here's the second update of The 40 x Poppy Playtime fan comic I promised around midnight!
In Chapter 2, we have Mommy Long Legs as the arc villain to deal with, and one unlucky teen with the worst physical stamina just so happens to need to deal with her while getting the train code and saving Poppy.
As expected, Mommy is quite the terror to deal with in her games, especially her boss battle as it's equal parts spooky as it is to escape her. Seeing the predicament at hand, Senku has to rely entirely on his intellect to survive, outrun her at crucial moments, and keep track of where to hide if she ever comes within his sight.
Hope you all like this!

Mainstream meets One-Shot
Tumblr media

Tumblr media

@the-ravenclaw-werewolf and @purplemochi20055
So I'm here to showcase a fanart showing Izuku Midoriya of The 40 getting a chance to meet his prototype counterpart from My Hero (2008).
This one has been in mind lately as I saw the artwork showing Earth-616 Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic and Earth-1610 Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic either meeting each other or just being shown side-by-side.
Since Horikoshi is a big fan of American comic book superheroes and often draws things in references to them in his current work; My Hero Academia, then I thought it would be appropriate to do a fanart of Izuku meeting his prototype self, Jack Midoriya. On a humorous note, I have both Izuku and Jack pointing at each other like the famous meme regarding the alternate Spider-Men pointing to each other, which is doubly humorous since Izuku's character is based on Spider-Man regarding Horikoshi's statement that Spider-Man is his favorite American superhero.
What do you all think?

The 40 x Poppy Playtime (1/4)
Tumblr media
@the-ravenclaw-werewolf and @purplemochi20055
I'm on a roll, people!
I've been following the video game, Poppy Playtime, since its first chapter and I've been hooked ever since. So why not have a member of The 40 investigate the abandoned Playtime Co. and survive the horrors that had happened there?
As you can see here, Levi has encountered the first mascot and arc villain of Chapter 1, Huggy Wuggy. Just from the onset alone, Levi can tell that Huggy isn't simply a statue and isn't impressed by the toy's design (also helping that Levi is a 30-something-year-old man who grew up having to live in harsh conditions in a medieval-like period). While Huggy Wuggy doesn't talk at all in his debut chapter, he's not dumb in the slightest and the succeeding chapters and lore reveal that he can talk and is capable of rudimentary deception, with one VHS tape explaining that Huggy has "sufficient intelligence".
Furthermore, while Huggy Wuggy is quite fast in open spaces, Levi, being dubbed "Humanity's Strongest Soldier", won't have that much difficulty taking the 17-foot-tall Bigger Bodies' toy mascot down with just one hand of the Grabpack, given that he regularly fought and survive against plenty of Titans in his own series.
P.S. I'll be toning down on the quality of the fan comics to save time since I'll be putting together some artwork and self-publish an online comic on webtoon.

----
Here's the final update for The 40 x Poppy Playtime! Like with my The 40 x Kill the Justice League fan comic, this one will also get an epilogue update as well.
Man, Ciel had just passed into the Red Smoke upon heading to the Playcare orphanage. If things were bad enough with CatNap stalking him in Playcare, getting a dose of hallucinogenic gas in his system would stir up some unwanted memories and seeing a certain demonic butler again.
The young boy needs to rely on his cunning wits to take down the giant toy mascot, who also has no slouch in the brains department.
For symbolism, CatNap is certainly a foil to Ciel. Especially in regards to their view of the Prototype and Sebastian Michaelis respectively, along with being a leader of a certain group.

The 40 - A good investment
Tumblr media
----
@the-ravenclaw-werewolf and @purplemochi20055
----
"An investment in knowledge pays the best interest." - Benjamin Franklin
----
I'm back again with another daily drabble of The 40. (Encouraging the completion of the final chapter of Main Character Syndrome (With Exceptions))
After going through some investments I made in Robinhood.com while trying to find a job, I decided to apply my woefully illiterate financial knowledge to the characters of The 40 by having an OC give them a challenge involving a loan of a ¥100 check.
The challenge? Use the ¥100 check and raise up to ¥100,000 in the stock trade by the end of the month.
Edward and Haruhi are woefully unknown to the Japanese stock trade, they are hitting up the books in the library regarding business and economics, and learning at a fast pace while simultaneously interested in the financial subjects. While Senku and Kobayashi started investing the ¥100 check into stocks.
To raise ¥100,000 in such a short time, the four members of The 40 traded like crazy. Many days went by as they loaded themselves with free caffeine to keep their eyes glued to the rise and fall of the stock trade, adding a certain level of stress.
To help ease things, Senku and Kobayashi both wrote their own computer programs using the library's computers that can track trends, analyze data, and automatically invest in something that would profit.
By the end of the month, the four of them managed to earn themselves good fortune that not only paying back the ¥100,000 and having a good amount of paper currency for themselves, but also gaining some great financial experience and literacy.
----
Speaking of money, I think it's a good time for me to start doing the "tipping" feature of Tumblr to earn some side income for my artwork.

"Battle of the Titans" (The 40 x Pacific Rim)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
----
@the-ravenclaw-werewolf, @purplemochi20055, and @hulkchloron99
----
So...here's the crossover fan comic.
I will admit, trying to draw mecha is quite challenging compare to living characters as there's all sorts of geometric shapes to account for. Never mind the kaiju that the our heroes are going up against in the fan comic here.
I just want to say that Pacific Rim was one of my favorite movies in the 2010s, as the idea of seeing mechas and Kaijus fighting each other on the big screen besides anime. Though, the sequels kind of suck due to becoming more of a colorful mishmash of anime cliches in my opinion, but understandably more technologically advanced.
For those who are aware of how the "Jaegers" work in Pacific Rim, they need to be piloted by two or more people as one person wouldn't handle the neural overlord. In addition, they have to be "Drift compatible", able to share each other's memories without any issue.
So for the two pilots I have in the fan comic, I choose Zuko and Izuku to be co-pilots due to them being very similar despite their initial differences and backgrounds.
Also, their Jaeger is called, "Yīki", a combination of Chinese and Japanese wordplay meaning "one gleam" (fitting their nature as the "underdogs"). Yīki is also a Mark 3 Jaeger, with similar capabilities to Gypsy Danger from the movie.
P.S. You can bet that Levi will want to pilot a Jaeger to kill some Titans. It would allow him to "even the playing field".

So...it's been while...
This is something of a doodle I made with Zuko and Izuku doing a martial arts spar.
Zuko is fighting with a handicap by blindfolding his sight where he only relies on his newly developed "Heat Vision" (i.e. seeing the world as if it's made of fire through his firebending) while Izuku is showing off his hard earn Charles Atlas Superpower through physical, mental, and martial arts mastery (e.g. he's now capable of breaking off large pieces of the stone ground for offensive and defensive purposes).
Hopefully, I'll be uploading the fancomic where The 40 lives among the Neanderthal tribe in the first Ice Age movie soon.
