Mr. Fenton is a competent teacher. Almost too competent.
If Mr. Daniel Fenton had any more than a BS (with a minor in education), Tim would’ve flagged his profile as a potential Rogue. That’s the way of most charismatic academics, at least in Gotham. (Got a PhD? Instant watchlist.) Instead, he’s Gotham Academy’s newest celebrity, as a young, passionate, out-of-towner substitute while the chemistry teacher’s on maternity leave.
Tim gets the hype. Fenton seems to genuinely love teaching, and is invested in the welfare of the student body. He hands out bananas during exam week, hosts a “study habits seminar” each month to coach effective learning strategies, and the third time Tim falls asleep in his class, he even pulls Tim aside to ask if he’s doing okay. With all the late work he accepts and the protein bars he sneaks Tim, he’s every teen vigilante’s dream teacher. He could’ve been Tim’s favorite.
In fact, Mr. Fenton was Tim’s favorite. Up until Tim walks into Mr. Fenton’s chemistry classroom for a forgotten textbook, an hour after the final bell.
On the board where tallied scores for today’s review game had been kept, “THE CHEMISTRY BEHIND DR. CRANE’S FEAR GAS: ANXIOGENICS, NERI’S, & YOU,” is now scrawled. A detailed diagram of the human endocrine system projects in front of a small crowd of adoring and attentive students.
Fenton is wrist-deep in the skull cavity of an anatomical model. A short tug, and out pops the brain.
It’s plastic. It’s fake.
Tim identifies the nearest emergency exit.
Fenton turns to the door, and in the dark classroom with the projector illuminating half his face, his eyes almost seem to flash red. “What’s up, Tim?” he asks. His friendly grin is too big for his face. “I didn’t know you wanted to join the Just Science League!”
[OR: Danny’s a science teacher at Tim’s school. Gotham’s a pretty wild place, even for someone who grew up a superhero in a ghost-infested town, so he takes it upon himself to start a club teaching kids how to manage themselves in the event of a crisis. These Gothamites are pretty hardy, but a little extra training never hurt anybody! And he suspects one of his students might be a teen vigilante, like he’d been, back in the day. As a senior super, it's Danny’s duty look out for him! Surely, this is the subtlest and most appropriate way to give the kid pointers.]
[Tim immediately assumes supervillain.]

Was thinking about the OP Danny tag and had an Idea.
So you know that one fic where everyone not from Amity Park are instinctively terrified of Danny? It’s basically that but with superheroes.
The supers are expecting, prepared for even, the aura of danger that Phantom and other ghosts emit and therefore aren’t too freaked out by him.
What they aren’t expecting however is feeling Existential Dread when they meet the otherwise unassuming son of Dr. and Dr. Fenton.
I'm not sure which fic that is but please!! send me a link!! I want to read it!! I love anything about outsiders interacting with anything/one from Amity Park
also Dr. and Dr. Fenton I am all about that, I've had it in my head for a long time that people who don't know them personally refer to them as Dr, but not people in their general daily life because they find it confusing, and I'm now realising I never made a post about that oops
(to clarify, the Fentons go by Mr and Mrs in regards to school meetings and professional conversations and such so they know which one of them someone is addressing, using body language and eye contact cues do not work because Jack doesn't generally look at people he's speaking with, it was Maddie's idea to drop the Dr titles because she preferred to make things easier for Jack rather than harass him about being better at reading people, because she is a Supportive Wife who doesn't shame her neurodivergent husband)
and I love that Creepy Boy aura, especially when people don't know he's Phantom because okay since we've been using DC heroes a lot I'll use them as a solid example for this next giant tangent
they probably wouldn't peg Danny's secret identity right away, like we know Batman is World's Greatest Detective but until he actually sees both Danny AND Phantom with his own two eyes he wouldn't make the connection because Danny has a Superman identity
by which I mean his strength is that nobody expects him to have a secret identity
people think Superman lives in the Fortress of Solitude, he has an alien home and an alien name and as far as people are concerned he just dropped onto earth a fully grown man, why would he need a secret identity?
Danny is exactly the same, as far as people know he's a ghost, his home is the Ghost Zone, he can't have a secret identity because he's dead, the closest thing he has to that is whoever he was when he was alive and that could have been anyone from any time within the last decade, any similarity noticed between Phantom and Danny would be chalked up to a simple coincidence, especially considering the headcanon that Phantom's body is built slightly different to Danny's (I run this through the transdanny canon where his ghost self presents more masc due to it reflecting Danny's body in a way that Feels Right to him)
so nobody, not even Batman, expects him to have any kind of human disguise, the only giveaway would be the fact that Batman has seen this trick before with Superman and still figured it out, so once he meets this kid who is the child of ghost hunters, who lives on top of the ghost portal, has an incredibly off-putting aura, and looks an awful lot like Phantom, that would be enough for him to start digging where most people would brush it away as coincidence
but like, who even knows how long it would take for him to come into contact with Danny's human self, he could have known about Phantom for days, weeks, or even years before ever realising that he's part human
it is super fun to imagine that first meeting though, when this gangly needy teenager is tagging along with his parents on this trip to install ghost tech in the watchtower (actually I vaguely recall reading a one shot fic about that premise yeeeaaaars ago but I can't remember what it was called RIP if I find it again I'll link it) and then any one of these seasoned superheroes who interact with him are like, 'bruh that kid gives me the creeps'
I can't help but draw a comparison to people feeling the same way around him as they feel around Jason Todd, because death leaves a stank on people that they just can't shake off
also I just want another excuse to use the Dead Boys Squad tag again sorry not sorry

Fic prompt for Valerie getting ghost-adopted. She has no idea what's going on.
This was beginning to become disturbing.  And Valerie had a pretty high bar for what she considered ‘disturbing.’
Ghosts were not supposed to act this... friendly... with hunters.  Even Phantom didn’t act like this, no matter how much he insisted he and the hunters were on the same side.
This ghost also didn’t extend the behavior it displayed with Valerie to anyone else, ghost or human.  Which was.  Creepy.
Getting gear from a human benefactor like Mr. Masters was one thing.  Getting... stuff from a ghost was something else entirely.  Having a ghost swoop in to ‘save’ her, one that wasn’t a pathological liar like Phantom was...  At least Phantom had a motive.
She didn’t like it.  At all.  She especially didn’t like how the ghost kept complimenting her.  Kept showing up no matter how many times she beat it up.
Claimed that it had made her new suit.  The one bonded to her body.  The one that whispered static to her mind.
She didn’t have a lot of places to turn to, when it came to ghost-related issues.  Her Dad knew about the hunting, now, but he didn’t know about ghosts.  Her first choice for info and aid would be Mr. Masters, but he was out of town, and she didn’t exactly have his phone number.
That left the Fentons.
.
“Perhaps it’s trying to possess you,” said Mrs. Fenton, taping electrodes to Valerie’s arm.  “Can you try summoning your suit again?”
Valerie sighed, fixing her gaze on the Fenton’s stained kitchen wallpaper, but complied.  She knew that telling the resident mad scientists about the weird ghost tech integrated into her body would result in some poking and prodding, but that didn’t mean she had to like it.
“Wow, Mads!” exclaimed Jack.  “Get a look at these readings!”
“Oh, my,” said Maddie, leaning around Jack’s bulk to get a look at the readout screen.  “That is interesting.”
Valerie’s phone buzzed, her alarm going off.  “I have to go,” she said.  “If you figure out what the ghost wants, you have my number, right?”
“Er, yes,” said Maddie.  “Although, I still stand by my first thought.  Ghosts like to make you doubt yourself, to make you afraid, or uneasy.  That’s what they feed on, and I doubt this one is intelligent enough to diverge from seeking that, even if it is going about it in a relatively novel way.”
“Right,” said Valerie, dubiously.  She agreed that ghosts were evil, but mindless?  Not a chance.
She didn’t know what she’d expected to accomplish, here.
“Thanks for your help,” she said.
As soon as she got out the front door, she let herself sigh again.  Hopefully, Mr. Masters would be back soon, and she’d be able to get some real help.
“Hey.”
Valerie jumped, just barely keeping herself from summoning her suit in the middle of the street.
“God, Danny, you can’t just sneak up on me like that.”
“Sorry,” said Danny, completely unrepentant.  “Ghost stalker, huh?  You know, my parents are not the people you want to go to for that.”
“I thought they were the experts,” said Valerie, rolling her eyes and starting to walk home.
“They are,” said Danny, keeping up with her easily.
(He was cute when he was earnest.)
“They are,” he repeated, “but they’re experts in ghost technology.  And ghost physics.  And ghost biology.  Stuff like that.  Which is good for your suit and all,” he paused to jump up on the side of a planter and use it as a balance beam, “but not so much for the problem you asked about, which is more of a ghost culture thing.”
“Which you know about.”
“I do!” protested Danny.  “Just because Mom and Dad don’t bother to actually talk to ghosts, that doesn’t mean that Jazz and I are like that.”
Valerie stopped.  “Are you telling me you know why this ghost is following me?”
“If the ghost in question is Technus,” said Danny, “then, yes.  Yes I do.”
“And are you going to share that with me any time soon?”
“Yeah,” said Danny.  “Just, keep an open mind, okay?”
“Danny, I swear, if you go on one of Sam’s ‘poor misunderstood creatures’ rants, I’m going to yeet you all the way back to your house.  I’m stressed.  I don’t want to deal with this.”
“Technus is trying to adopt you.”
Slowly, Valerie inserted her pinky into her ear and rotated it, trying to clear out the wax that had clearly built up without her knowing.
“No, really,” said Danny, his tone that of barely suppressed glee.  “It’s a thing adult ghosts do with ghosts that are kids, because usually there aren’t too many kid ghosts.  I guess with your suit you’re ghostly enough to count.”
Valerie suppressed a shiver at being called ghostly at all.  “How do you even know that?”
“I talk to ghosts about things.”
“About adoption practices.”
Danny shrugged.  “It came up.”
“Great.  How do I make ‘Technus’ stop?”
“No idea.  Nothing I’ve done seems to work.  But who knows?  Maybe Technus is different.”
“Different from-?  Danny, what are you saying?”
“Well,” said Danny tucking his hands behind his back and looking up at the sky.  “You’ve seen our house and our lab.  If you’re ghostly because of a suit you’ve had for a few months, what do you think I’m like?”
“Do your parents know?”
“Nope.  I’d like to keep it that way, if it’s all the same to you.  And I can help you navigate Technus.  If you want.”
Valerie scowled.  “You think this is funny.”
“Of course I do!  I think it’s great that someone else has to deal with this.  It’s not dangerous, though.  You can literally just humor him.  Might get him to stop attacking so often, even.”
“You’re joking.”
“Nope,” said Danny.
Valerie pinched the bridge of her nose.  “Ghosts have done this to you, too?” she asked, because she needed to know for sure.
“Yep.  So, do you want help or no?”
Valerie hesitated.  “This doesn’t mean we’re dating again.”
Danny frowned.  “Why would it?”
“No reason.  Tell me what you know.”

Cruel to be Kind
[Dead by Baelight’s Kinktober // Day 3, 17, and 24 : Knifeplay, Bond, Basement]
Tumblr media
🖤 🖤 🖤
“You gonna tell me what we’re doing here, or…?”
“I mean I could,” Danny conceded, casually throwing up his hand in a sort of shrug gesture that Frank was positive was specifically manufactured to show off his knife and the fact that he was holding it, steel glinting menacingly in the unnaturally red light of the basement.
“But that would ruin the surprise.”
🖤 🖤 🖤 Pairing: Ghostface (Danny Johnson) x Legion (Frank Morrison)
Rating: Explicit
CW: homophobia, non-con/dub-con, knifeplay, bondage, smut, canon-typical violence
Word Count: 2,828
Tumblr media
“Well, well, well. What do we have here…”
Incredulous, Frank squinted at the man through the pinhole slits of his mask, lip curling over his teeth. “I - You’re literally the one that did this. You haven’t even left the room.”
Ghostface had torn him away from the lodge and tied him to this fucking chair in the basement - and Frank had been helpless to stop it, because even with all their God-given gifts from the Entity, Danny was still stronger than him.
All the others had fucked off, Joey in a Trial somewhere, and Jules and Sooz were… doing their thing. (God help anyone who fucked with ‘girl’s night, that shit was sacred.)
The minute he’d been left alone, that fucker swooped in like he’d been waiting - shit, maybe he had been. Creepy bastard.
And now he had the audacity to act like he’d just stumbled on him here? For - what - dramatic effect?
The man deflated exaggeratedly, his head flopping to the side like his neck suddenly just couldn’t support it anymore. “Don’t be a party pooper, Frank.” He sighed, somehow managing to make even disappointment reek of dishonesty and condescension. Nothing about that guy was real. Not a goddamn thing.
Releasing a nostril-flaring, profoundly annoyed breath out from his nose, Frank bunched his hands into fists so tight his fingers cracked and tried testing out his restraints behind his back. He wasn’t terribly surprised to find the ropes completely unyielding, but it still shot an ample dose of pure, uncut panic right into the mainline. Not that he’d ever fucking show it. Frank didn’t even want to think about the level of sadistic glee Danny would bag from that. A whole metric fuckton, he was sure.
Frank did not like it there. It was the place where the veil - if there was such a thing - between the realm and the Entity was the thinnest. The place where her whispers were the loudest. It gave him the creeps. Of fucking course Ghostface would feel right at home there.
“But that would ruin the surprise.”
“Which is?” There was a beat of silence, just long enough for Frank to realize what a stupid fucking question that was.
“…I’m starting to think you don’t grasp the concept of ‘surprise.’ That’s fine.” He said, hooking his knife underneath Frank’s hood and knocking it off his head, gently tracing the flat of the blade along the side of his neck. It was cold against his skin, and he had to reign in a shiver. “I never did pick ‘em for their brains.”
Pick… who? Frank wondered. His victims? “If you kill me I’ll just come back,” Frank scoffed a little too quickly, sounding nervous even to him. Dying fucking hurt. And it’s not like it happened all that often for him to have built up some kind of tolerance to it - if that was even a thing. “What’s the point in that?”
“Very astute, Frank,” Danny cooed, quietly flipping the blade so that the sharp side was just grazing Frank’s neck. “But…” He continued, leaned back and quiet, like he was distractedly admiring the sight. “I think that overlooks an awfully big part of the whole appeal. Don’t get me wrong; I’ll admit, that little caveat can be a little… dissatisfying at times. But I’ve never killed people just because I want them to stop existing. That’s boring.”
If he weren’t literally being held at knifepoint, Frank would have let his head fall back with a groan. Did he ask for a fucking monologue? Was that why he tied him up? So he’d be a captive audience to his bullshit?
“No,” Danny continued, “Sometimes… You just want to watch ‘em bleed.”
A sharp, stinging pain biting through his neck had Frank suddenly sitting up a little straighter, muscles clenching at that zing that shot through him.
That son of a bitch actually cut him!
“Fuck. Off.” Frank grit out.
“No, I don’t think I will.”
Frank grunted at the weight of the other man suddenly dropping himself into his open lap, no warning or discretion, just plopping down and straddling him like he owned the place. Once Frank got over the initial shock he immediately tried to jerk away in protest. Shit, Danny was surprisingly dense for someone so short. Heavy. “What the fuck are you eating, guy?! Get the hell off me, you fucking… fag.”
Another beat of silence that seemed intentionally timed to make him start regretting it. Not that he needed any time to regret it. Saying it always made him feel fucking gross. But he’d rather just bullheadedly… keep on keeping on than actually acknowledge that weird ass feeling.
“Hm.” Danny lifted Franks mask, sliding it up and off his face to rest on top of his head. “That’s an awful nasty word for someone who regularly fools around with another guy, himself, don’t you think?”
It didn’t even feel like it was supposed to be a stinger, it felt like he was just… asking. Taking off his mask like this was some kind of personal aside, just your friendly neighborhood Ghostface, checking in. It only pissed Frank off more, clenching his teeth tightly before finally responding.
“That’s fucking different. I’m not gay.” Most of the time that he was with Joey… that way - which was the only thing he could possibly be alluding to - it was all of them. Together. Threesomes or foursomes or whatever weren’t gay. It was hardly ever just the two of them; sometimes he had Joey blow him or something but that was it. And even if they did do shit - that was Legion. It was different. Danny wouldn’t understand. (How could he? He didn’t have anyone or anything.)
“Call it what you want, handsome.”
Frank’s lips couldn’t help but tug in two different directions at that little nickname, like he didn’t know whether he wanted to scowl or laugh. The middle ground was an embarrassing, wobbly, stupid little smirk that he just couldn’t seem to wipe off his face.
Mercifully, Danny didn’t call any attention to it. Returning the knife to his neck - on the opposite side now, Danny dragged it around to catch just under Frank’s chin, forcing his face up. Frank put on a tough face, jaw clenched, chin jut resolutely, eyes full of defiance, but he was hanging off every word and the bastard knew it. It was just - he was taking that little barb suspiciously well, and part of him was kind of just waiting for the other shoe to drop. For him to plunge the knife straight through his throat.
Instead, he leaned in and said “…But a spade’s a spade.” Then… he just eased off. Removed the knife. Pulled back.
And just when Frank thought he could take a breather -
“So you like dick!” Ghostface announced like it was one half of a headline, and far too loudly for comfort.
Frank visibly startled at the emotional whiplash, blinking back shock and incredulously glancing around the basement for witnesses even though he knew it was just the two of them. His mouth hung open, tongue buzzing with some acidic, half baked response that he never managed to get out.
“Big deal, that’s nothing to be ashamed of! And- not that it did before- but what the hell makes you think that kind of thing matters here? What are you scared of? The survivors? The Entity? You think big momma in the sky is gonna fucking… Spank you? She doesn’t care.” Danny huffed, clearly amused.
“I don’t-…” Frank sighed, gaze averted. He was tired of arguing, and hoped the note of… genuity? Would make him fucking drop it.
Fat chance.
In retrospect, maybe he should have just gone down kicking and screaming.
His attempt to deny everything was swiftly interrupted by a breathy laugh that Frank was disgusted to discover he actually found kind of cute. Until he promptly ruined it.
“Sorry - what was that? I can’t hear you over the fucking boner that’s been brewing ever since I sat down. You know your dick kinda jumps whenever I hold the knife to your throat?” Danny shook his head, chuckling. “No offense - but I think whether or not you’re gay is the least of your problems, you adorable little sicko.”
Furious, indignant heat shot up to the surface, Frank’s face becoming utterly inflamed as he burst out the first thing that came to mind. “F-fuck you!”
Okay - it wasn’t a particular intelligent, or even good response, but what the hell else could he say? If he was free, he’d just start talking with his fists, (or his boots, or his teeth) but there wasn’t shit he could do. Not that he wasn’t champing at the bit to try, struggling against the restraints so hard the friction was starting to make his wrists feel raw.
“No…” Frank could just hear the shitty smile in his voice as he put the knife away. “That’s not how it’s gonna go. You can blow me though!” Danny decided cheerfully, hopping off his lap and resting his hands on his hips, looking down at him expectantly. He had to be joking - he had to. But he didn’t even budge.
“Are you out of your fucking mind?! I’m not going to-”
“Sorry,” Danny gestured dismissively, as if he could just wave away the opposition, “Let me be more clear.” He told him, the smile gone from his voice as he spoke slowly, with a dangerous precision. It was such a severe tonal shift that Frank actually stopped struggling just to listen.
“You’re going to blow me. And if I feel any fucking teeth, I’m going to kill you, and every one of your friends.”
He felt the jolt in his core, but didn’t quite connect the dots that his body had reacted until he heard Danny snort, and realized that - not only was he right about his dick twitching, but Danny was playing him like a fucking fiddle. That wasn’t a threat, it was dirty talk. And he fell right for it.
Frank had to admit, the logistics of how he was going to do this while tied up weren’t exactly at the forefront of his mind as Danny began pushing the opening of his coat aside and tinkering with his pants.
And maybe he should have been more concerned, but asking would have been too close to - he didn’t know, acceptance? And he was still stubbornly clinging to the idea that he didn’t want this, despite the evidence on full display to God, the Entity, and whatever the fuck else was out there, no amount of twisting around doing anything whatsoever to conceal the painfully obvious bulge in his pants.
What he was thinking, was how it was kind of fucked up that the first real flash of skin he’d ever seen of the guy was his dick. That was like glory hole levels of dirty; it should have squicked him out that he had no idea what the guy looked like underneath that mask, should have had bile crawling up his throat, but it didn’t. He had a lot of pretty clear expectations in his mind about how he should have been feeling at that moment. But maybe Danny was right, maybe he was more fucked up than he thought. Because all he could feel was hunger.
Frank would be hard pressed to call another man’s cock pretty, okay - but it kind of was. He was paler than he was expecting, and he wasn’t sure why, he’d probably seen pictures of him at one point or another, international sensation that he was, but fuck if he ever paid any attention to the news. But he was from Utah or some shit, and Frank didn’t know all that much about the US but he guessed it made sense that he was whitebread whitebread. It just made it incredibly obvious how flushed it was, so very, very pink. It might have been funny, if it weren’t intimidatingly massive. Kind of lean - Frank could definitely say he was thicker, and yes, he was immediately mentally comparing like it was some kind of competition - but long. Sleek. With a glint of metal at the tip - that was unexpected.
“That’s right,” Danny hummed, gloved hand stroking himself to grip at the base, cock head swelling as he flexed it. He was fucking incorrigible, the cheeky bastard. “Keep staring. You’re really selling me on the heterosexuality.”
Fuck - that’s right, his mask was off. His eyeline, and his every goddamn expression completely out in the open. He was pretty sure he was still scowling - that was just the default - but he wasn’t sure it was terribly convincing.
“Someday, Frankie, you’ll realize what a gift this is,” He continued, faux-wistfully as he stalked forwards and grabbed the posts on either side of the chair back. For someone who wasn’t all that tall, he was awfully good at looming. Commanding attention, like he was the only thing in Frank’s entire field of vision.
The chair started to slowly tip forward, back legs lifting off the floor. Frank’s stomach lurched, and he immediately barked out in protests. “Hey!”
“Really - you should be thanking me,” Danny ignored him, steering the chairposts, dragging them down, down, down, tipping him further and further forward.
Frank felt like his heart was going to fall through his ass, if he didn’t go into cardiac arrest, first. Danny’s cock was practically in his face now, but all his lizard brain could think about was how he was going to fall flat on his fucking face, his arms frantically struggling to break free from behind his back so he could catch himself.
He couldn’t possibly be intending to…
“No teeth,” He warned, before pulling Frank down onto his cock by the chairposts, driving him down until he was forced to take him into his mouth. Danny sighed in relief at the warm, wet heat, guiding him down, unbothered by the choked sound of panic muffled around his cock as a particularly sharp falling sensation shot through Frank’s gut.
“Taking your choice away is the best thing that could happen to you.”
Oh, if looks could kill. Frank’s eyes were filled with hate, tears pricking at the corners as his nose finally bumped against Danny’s pelvis. The mask was looking down at him, unchanging expression mocking while he fought just to breathe, noisily and erratically shuddering through his nose, the intrusion down his throat making it feel like he was perpetually choking on top of perpetually falling.
“Now you don’t have to worry your pretty little head about it, or what it means about you,” Danny continued blissfully, rocking the chair back and forth, guiding him up and down on his cock like he was nothing more than a fleshlight. Frank’s frantic heaving was starting to sound wet, snot loosening down his nose as he desperately snivelled for air.
And yet despite it all, he could still feel that dull hum in his core. Muted, slightly, by the glut of overstimulation everywhere else, but there nonetheless, and constant. Begging for just a little of that attention to be directed there.
“You can always just say it was my fault. That I made you.”
Frank could hardly track what he was saying, but that feeling in the bottom of his stomach was starting to get sharper, an urgent fullness that was becoming more and more demanding by the second.
“And you’ll never have to learn-” Danny interrupted himself with a short grunt, and Frank could feel his cock twitch in the back of his throat, “Or grow or self-reflect. Aren’t I nice?” He pulled out, and the sound Frank made as he gasped for air wasn’t pretty, snapping the thick threads of spit still connecting them.
Danny kept him suspended there, one-handedly holding up the chair while the other lowered to pump at his spit drenched erection. “Thank me.” He growled.
“F-fuck you.” Frank managed to choke out, feeling pretty proud of himself until warmth splattered across his face, and hot mortification rushed to the surface. But apparently not even the embarrassment of Danny cumming on his face was enough to tamp down his want, arousal flaring parallel.
“Hm.”
Suddenly he was thrown back, chair clattering and pain shooting through his arms as he collided with the floor.
“Surprise,” Danny’s voice floated down to him, colder than he’d ever heard it as Frank’s vision struggled to come together in one picture.
Two Danny’s hovering over him. Two knives glinting menacingly in the unnaturally red light of the basement.
“Maybe you should have thanked me.” 🖤  🖤 🖤
Thank you for reading!!!

Doppelgänger (5/?)
Previously on Doppelgänger ~ Masterlist ~ Next time on Doppelgänger
Danny, Sam, and Tucker were just 14 when they took a look inside the portal Danny’s parents had built. From there, everything changed. They woke up with white hair, green skin, and powers they could learn to control. They were hybrids, halfas.
They were the hero Doppelgänger.
{Fright Night}
“So a trio of ghosts need to create a haunted house room,” Danny said, smirking at his partners as he dropped down on his bed.
“Think we could just stick Audrey II in there and call it a day?” Tucker asked and sat backwards on the desk chair.
Sam shrugged and sat next to Danny so she could put his head in her lap. “If I stopped pruning her, she should be big enough to give someone a scare by then. I don’t think just one thing will cut it though.”
“We could bring in some more plants for you to move around and have it be a haunted jungle,” Tucker said.
“Oh, so Danny makes a stupid bet and I have to do all the work.”
“Hey, I’m the one who gave Twoey sentience and unless you force her with your powers, she only listens to me. I think that counts for something,” Danny pointed out.
“You know, what is it with you and the non-sapient ghosts and ecto-beings?” Tucker asked. “Twoey, Cujo, those will-o'-wisp blob things that follow you around when we’re in the zone. You’d think Sam would be the one they're attracted to with her nature thing.”
Danny hummed and pressed into Sam’s hand so she’d start carding her fingers through his hair. “Well, like I said, I brought Twoey to life, so maybe she imprinted on me. And Cujo might just be able to sense that you guys hate dogs.”
“We don’t hate dogs. They're just loud and annoying,” Sam said.
“And Cujo is literally as demonic as his namesake,” Tucker added.
“He’s a good boy and this is why he doesn’t like you.”
“He trashed a lab for a toy!” Tucker said.
“And they put him down. Fair's fair.”
“Can’t disagree with you there,” Sam said with narrowed eyes. She’d launched quite the internet scandal when she’d dug up why, exactly, the old kennels she’d found the toy in were abandoned. “Back to the matter at hand though, you still haven’t explained the blobs.”
Danny blushed. “I, uh, might feed them chips sometimes when they show up while I’m cleaning the lab.”
There was a moment of silence before both his partners started snickering.
“Don’t feed the wildlife, Danny,” Sam said mockingly.
“All this time, they’ve been the ghost equivalent of pigeons.”
“Not pigeons! They're actually really sweet. Like… hummingbirds!”
“Sure, dude.”
“Whatever you say, Danny.”
“Can we just get back on topic? Sam, you’re goth, shouldn’t that make you our resident creepy person. What would go good with a living jungle and a literal man-eating plant?”
Sam patted his cheek condescendingly, but leaned back to plot. “I had something else planned, but if you guys insist on the jungle idea…”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“This has to beat whatever Dash has,” Danny said as the trio looked over the room.
Audrey II’s pot had been attached to the ceiling so her stalks could hang down, dripping -- thankfully only harmful to ectoplasm -- acid. Once the haunted house was open, she’d been instructed to snap at anyone who came near. She luckily didn’t like the taste of humans so there wasn’t any worry about her going overboard.
Sam had brought in some crawling vines and tropical plants to cover the walls and floor so she could have them tug at or trip people as they moved through the room and make it harder for people to find their way through.
Danny’s herd of blobs were drifting around the makeshift jungle, making soft lights flicker through the semi-darkness.
Tucker had set up electric field generators to give the room an eerie feeling.
The pièce de résistance, however…
“Did you get it set up?” Sam asked.
“Try it out,” Danny said.
The boys watched as she walked over to an archway on one side of the room. She walked through it, only to come out an archway on the opposite side a second later.
“Yes!” Tucker cheered, high-fiving Danny. “Thank you, Space Fold!”
Sam tested out all the other archways to be sure they had a similar effect then came over to join the boys. “Congratulations, you’ve built a cartoon hallway.”
“You’re just mad you didn’t think of it,” Danny said and she ruffled his hair.
“Well, my work here is done. Now if you’ll excuse me,” Tucker grabbed the empty pumpkin-shaped candy bucket waiting by the door, “I’m a little late to start scamming some free candy.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Danny flinched when Sam pinched him for squirming.
“I’m almost done, you big baby.”
“Sorry if I’m a little creeped out by you sticking sharp things very close to my eyes.”
“Just be glad you don’t need contacts. There, perfect.”
Danny smiled when Sam held up a mirror. His hair was covered by a long, braided black wig that a crown of thorns sat atop. His face had been given a slight green tint while his lips were a deep forest. His smile showed off fangs that were just as long and sharp as their ghost form’s and prosthetic ears gave him the same points. Dark makeup made his eyes look sunken, which highlighted his eyes when he let the red of his ghost form glow through. His hands had been given claw-like fake nails before being dipped into blood-red paint while he’d been dressed in black and dark green princely clothes. It all came together to make him look like a ghastly elfin prince.
He stood up and turned to Sam. “Thanks, Sam. This is great.”
She frowned and shook her head. “No, more brooding.”
“I really don-”
She pointed a finger in his face. “You wanted my help. This is me helping. More brooding. Imagine all the light draining from your soul.”
Danny pushed her hand away. “You’re just using this as an excuse to make me goth for a night.”
“Only for a night, but yeah. It’s a good look on you. Now brood or I’ll leave and you can do without my plants.”
Danny rolled his eyes, then tried to channel his angstiest self.
Christmas Danny.
Sam blinked at his scowl. “Wow, I didn’t think you could even get that dark. You’re usually our resident prep.”
Jingle Bells. Gingerbread. SANTA.
Danny shoved it all down, but the scowl only lessened slightly. “That’s because your family always goes away for the holidays.”
Sam looked confused, but didn’t get a chance to ask before they heard footsteps approaching. She transformed, saying, “Showtime. Maybe lose the anger a little.”
“I’ll try.”
She disappeared and all the plants except Audrey II started to sway and glow slightly. They seemed to thicken, making it impossible to see more than a few feet into the room.
Danny shooed the flytrap’s stalks up towards the roof. “Alright, Twoey, just like we practiced. Remember, be a good girl and you get a nice big bottle of ectoplasm as a treat.”
One of the lobes nuzzled him then they all retreated into the darkness Tucker had carefully maneuvered the lights to create on the ceiling.
“This is why she likes us. We spoil her,” a voice whispered in his ear.
“I don’t… I only spoil her a little.”
Sam chuckled and he felt her drift off.
“Mr. Fenton, it’s time,” William Lancer said as he arrived at the door to the room Daniel had taken. It was painted with toxic green glowing runes and vines as well as the words, The Kingdom of Thorns.
The door creaked open slowly to reveal Daniel standing a few feet away.
Automatic door, nice touch, William noted. The boy was also in a more elaborate costume than Dashiell’s. His contacts were actually a bit disconcerting with how the light made them appear to glow. It wasn’t helped either that the normally cheerful, if downtrodden, boy had on a scowl that looked rather resentful and fell.
The boy gave a graceful bow. In an empty voice, he announced, “Welcome. May your stay be eternal.”
A shiver went up William’s spine. The boy’s voice sounded off. Echoey-perhaps, except it didn’t sound like Daniel’s voice echoing back. More like multiple someones were whispering his words alongside him. Some sort of speaker setup, maybe? But the teacher swore the voices were coming from Daniel.
Pushing down the emotions, William pointed to the door. “I hope that’s not permanent.”
“What?” The eerie expression and voice were gone in a blink. “Oh, yes. I mean no, it’s not permanent. It’s just a little ectoplasm from my parent’s lab. I have the dissolving agent.”
That… was not as comforting as Daniel seemed to think it should be. “Is that safe?”
“Yeah, sure. Pure ectoplasm is harmless to humans in small doses. You could eat the amount on there and still be perfectly fine. It’s the charged stuff that’s dangerous.”
Still not as comforting as the boy’s smile made it out to be. “Right. Shall we begin?”
Daniel gave a toothy -- fangy? -- grin and stepped to the side, gesturing William forward.
The door slammed closed once the teacher started walking, not close enough to hit, but enough that he could feel the breeze of it passing on the back of his neck. He glanced back and was surprised to see vines covering the door. He made note of it.
“You’re free to roam, but I would stick to the path,” Daniel said as William passed him, his show voice back on and just as creepy as the first time. “And I wouldn’t recommend eating anything. Or being eaten.”
William glanced back, only to see the boy was gone. But he had just heard him right behind him.
He shook his head and continued forward.
So far the room itself didn’t look particularly scary. It mostly looked like a poorly lit and abandoned greenhouse without the glass walls and ceiling. Though there was the odd lights flying about, like fireflies the size of softballs. The plants almost seemed to be moving as well, like in the wind though William couldn’t feel anything, and he swore they were glowing a bit. Some sort of paint?
“You didn’t put anything harmful on these plants, right?”
“Of course not,” whispered something in his ear and he jerked away. He looked around, but couldn’t see anything.
“No, they’re Sam’s. She’d kill me if I hurt her plants,” came Daniel’s normal voice from somewhere across the room.
“G-Good.”
“Are you alright, Mr. Lancer? You’re not lost are you?”
“No, Mr. Fenton.” He shook himself. He must have been hearing things. He took a step forward and immediately felt like he’d stepped into something, or through something. He rubbed his arms as goosebumps began to crawl up them. He made a note and quickly moved on.
After a few moments more of the random goosebumps and the feeling of vines or leaves brushing him despite being sure he wasn’t getting close to any of the plants, he reached an archway. The teacher frowned and he pulled aside the curtain to look in. He swore the passage was supposed to lead directly into the next room, but instead he found a short hallway. It appeared to be a pitch-black void littered in stars that went on forever, but directly ahead, perhaps two feet in, was another doorway with a curtain. Some sort of mirror trick?
He made another note and walked carefully through the hall. Perhaps it was the star pattern, but he almost felt weightless as he passed through. He pulled the curtain aside… and found himself in the room he’d started in? But that was impossible! And yet, the windows were on the archway’s left, just as they had been for the arch he’d come from. The chandelier hanging above, original to the house though Daniel had wrapped it in vines, was also the same one that had been in the previous room. He must have curved around, except he was sure he’d gone in a straight line.
“Something wrong, Mr. Lancer?”
The teacher jumped and spun around to find Daniel standing right next to him, staring up at him through half-lidded eyes. His head was tilted almost unnaturally to the side and he was giving his usual smile, though the sharp fangs made it feel like he was baring his teeth instead. Some of the flying lights were perched on his crown, but their shapes were indistinct which made it appear the crown was alight with swirling green flames.
“Just-just taking in your creativity, Mr. Fenton. I wish you would put such effort into your schoolwork.”
His grin grew and his eyes glowed brighter. “What can I say, I guess I have an affinity for all things ghostly and dead.” He turned on his heel and disappeared into the foliage. “I’ll leave you to it.”
If William was shaking as he moved through the room, there was no one around to tell. He kept a careful eye out, but even still it felt like more plants were brushing against him and he was in a constant state of goosebumps. Then, just as he reached the center of the room, a hand grabbed his shoulder.
He shrieked and spun around, dropping his clipboard in the process. There was no one there. He looked all around him, but couldn’t find any sign of a person.
Something creaked above him.
He slowly looked up and saw something moving in the shadows, multiple long necks and wide heads with gaping maws.
“Mr. Lancer?”
“The Iliad and the Odyssey!” William shouted, looking down to see Daniel standing right in front of him, looking worried.
Aside from his glowing crown, none of his showman’s grace was on him anymore. Not even in his voice as he glanced down and said, “Oh, you dropped your stuff.”
William’s eyes widened as he spotted the three long stalks that had lowered down from the ceiling, each carrying the heads of a horror-movie approximation of a venus flytrap. The flat lobes were all around a foot long and would have looked normal, if not huge, except for the toxic green acid dripping from their centers.
At the same time that Daniel leaned down, one of them shot forward to strike like a snake, its jaws closing around the space his head had been not a moment before. They all darted back to the ceiling as Daniel stood up, appearing his normal awkward and helpful self.
He held out William’s pen and clipboard. “Here you go.”
The teacher’s hands were shaking as he took his things from his student.
Daniel rubbed the back of his neck. “Sorry, I guess we might have gone a little overboard. Was it the halls? I can take those out.”
Something grabbed William’s ankle. “No! No, it was wonderful. Leave it as is. I just remembered I have somewhere to be.”
“So… does that mean…”
“Yes, Mr. Fenton. You win. Now how do I get out of here?”
Daniel pointed to the side.
There was a straight path to the door that most definitely had not been there before.
William shook the vine off his leg and walked quickly out of the open door.
Danny threw his hands up and cheered as soon as the door shut behind Lancer. He turned and gave Sam a high-five. “That was great! He didn’t even stay long enough to see Twoey in action.”
“We’re an oblivious idiot,” she said as she turned visible.
“What do you mean?”
She plucked off one of the blob ghosts nuzzling his head and shook her own. “Nevermind. Come on, we’ve got a few new ideas from that test run.”
“Cool.”
“By the way, that line about eating ectoplasm. We haven’t actually done that, right?”
“Well, not on purpose, but you’ve seen my house. Sometimes a bit of ectoplasm ends up in the food.”
“We’re never eating at our house again.”
“Hey, it’s okay. I never let you guys stay for dinner when my parents or I cook and Jazz sterilizes everything so she never gets ectoplasm in anything.”
“Never again.”
“And besides, we’re ghosts now. Ghost food is made of ecto-”
Sam put her hand over his mouth. “Never.”
He nodded. Once she’d removed her hand and floated off, he muttered, “It’s not even bad as long as the food doesn’t come to life. Just kind of citrusy.”
“We’re going to throw up!”

Jesse soon faces the wrath of ruthless vixens who despise her fresh-faced beauty. On top of that, she must contend with a seedy motel manager and a creepy photographer. As Jesse starts to take the fashion world by storm, her personality changes in ways that could help her against her cutthroat rivals. I love this film because it’s very weird but beautifully shot. It’s a slow-building thriller that shows LA in a creepy, neon light! -Megan Bennett
The Big Sleep (1946)

P.I. Philip Marlowe (Humphrey Bogart) is hired by a wealthy general to discover who is blackmailing his daughter over gambling debts and stop them. Marlowe finds himself deep within a web of love triangles, blackmail, murder, gambling, and organized crime, not to mention falling in love with the general’s other daughter, Vivian (Lauren Bacall). Marlowe goes all over L.A. looking for clues, including the Hollywood Public Library and up into the Hollywood Hills. Author Raymond Chandler was rumored to have based the General’s home on the Greystone Mansion. This film is one of my favorites because it has the best dialogue I’ve ever heard in a film. The one-liners and quick exchanges are awesome, and every scene with Bogie and Bacall is exquisite. - Liz Highstrete
Chinatown (1974)
Streaming: Amazon Prime, Hulu, iTunes, Google Play
Tumblr media
I know this title is radioactive due to its connection with Polanski.  But, as the recent book by Sam Wesson, The Big Goodbye, points out, Chinatown was a significant collaboration of many creative forces, including Robert Towne, Jack Nicholson, Robert Evans, Faye Dunaway, John Huston, Diane Ladd, John Alonzo, Richard Sybert, and others.  Their work can still be admired.  Plus, there are scenes shot on location throughout L.A. city and county. https://la.curbed.com/maps/chinatown-filming-location-map -Tom
L. A. Confidential (1997)
Streaming:  Netflix
Tumblr media
L.A. Confidential is a 1950’s Hollywood crime drama of corrupt cops and mobster bad-guys filmed at historic locations across Los Angeles.  In particular, the movie showcases Richard Neutra’s “Lovell Health House” on Dundee Road in Los Feliz as the supposed home of the local pimp, who runs a prostitution ring of women who have taken on the appearances of famous movie stars.  Kim Basinger stars as Veronica Lake look-alike.  Russell Crowe, Kevin Spacey and Guy Pearce star as three very different cops.  Danny DeVito writes the local tabloid news. Originally built and named for a health-and-fitness guru, the Lovell Health House has just been put on the market, according to Curbed Los Angeles, and the current owner “wants to find a buyer who will appreciate the home’s architecture—and either preserve it or restore it”.  Any takers? -Leslie

Local Teen Unaware of how Weird Family is, Local Goth Decides To Go All In and Learn Magick, Exhausted Teens Do Fun Dumb Teen Stuff
It was the day after they’d taken down Skulker, and Tucker had to collect up the armor.  Danny helped him, of course, and he flew home with some help from his favorite ghost boy.  They landed in Tucker’s room, and Tucker gave Danny a hug as soon as the suit was set down.  Danny returned to his warmer flesh and blood self and hugged him back before they got to work searching for a port to plug Tucker’s laptop into.  Thankfully even the dead respected the U in USB and they manage to connect. Before long, however, Tucker’s mind wanders from his code-breaking program that’s now hard at work with Skulker’s head and to his situation with Sam.  And considering what all he’d learned about Danny’s family so far, he might as well ask. “Danny do you have access to transparent solar panels?”
“Yeah, all the windows at Fenton Works are solar panels - I think they run at uh 50% efficiency.  Why?”
“Danny, that’s like, the exact last piece I need for my solar-powered car design.”  Tucker was tempted to inform Danny of how amazing that fact was, but he knew Danny wasn’t a fan of being extraordinary, so he’d let it slide for now.  “Now I just need some way of building it.”
“Well, you have the design itself saved right?”
“Yes…”  Tucker wasn’t sure where this was going, but he was hopeful that it’d be a place he liked.
“We can just print out the design at my house?”  Danny shrugged, as though that was obvious and the most simple thing in the world.  “We have like, a pretty big 3D printer, it’s uh modular, and we use scrapped metal from junkyards that we liquified as filament.  We can print a car pretty quickly.”
Danny was going to say something that made Tucker fall completely in love with him one of these days, the idiot.  “Danny I need you to take me to this 3D printer.  Now.” Skulker’s head was left where they’d put it on his desk, the rest of the suit stuffed in Tucker’s closet, and the pair flew off to Danny’s house.
When they arrived at Fentonworks, they turned to one of the other buildings on the block and set down there, Danny taking the time to unlock the door and everything.  “So this 3D printer you guys have…”
“Well, Dad calls it the Fenton Fabricator.   See, there's a theory that went around a while ago when 3D printers and fabricators first started, it was the Recursive Loop Theory. It goes like this. You buy a 3D printer. Mid-range, sorta useful, but with enough detail and strength that you like it. But then you need something a bit more detailed. So you look online and you find a set of 3D models for a second printer. This one you can build on your machine, and with only some minor parts you can make the more detailed printer for a tiny fraction of what it would cost.”
Danny took them to a set of stairs and Tucker was so focused on his friend he nearly missed all the art Danny’s ever done hanging all over the walls.
“So, you can make more detailed parts. And you find designs for a bigger printer. It's modular and sorta rough, but it needs those detailed parts. So you can then build massive somewhat detailed pieces… and so you do. And now, with your 3 printers, you find designs to a fourth. Bigger, better, more detailed, it's another generation, and you can print it off your current designs. Boom, bam, rinse and repeat.  Eventually, your diminishing returns drop till you can’t make a more detailed printer, but at that point, you have one hell of a machine, particularly if you have a couple of crazy hackers building your final design as a custom project. Course, it’s not quite that easy. We had to fabricate a lot of weird and unique bits for them in other ways - well, my folks and their friends in the Secret Scientists did anyway."
“So the Fenton Fabricator?”
“Is a massive, customized high detail 3D fabricator that can even print metal and glass, yes.”  Danny turned on the lights as they entered a large underground workspace. Tucker saw the fabricator and felt he might’ve gone to heaven.  It was a massive aquarium tank, easily twenty feet from corner to corner and at least eight feet tall. Above it, hanging like a mechanical spider on segmented green and red limbs with shiny metal joints and points, was a motorcycle sized 3D printing extruder. Tucker could see a set of lasers for dust printing, a pair of high-heat high-speed extruders for wires, several dozen smaller legs with colors and specific grades of wire, all of which fed up and around the room to spools of plastic and cylinders of dusted metal.
“There are hidden parts in the walls with directed gravity manipulators and some arms kept out of the way until needed for assembly-based stuff.  I think Mom and Dad built a car or something down here recently. The canisters are all refilled completely.” Danny shrugged, moving around the lab and grabbing up papers - notes about what feeds to use, hints for setting things up.  “I can help you connect up and plug in your stuff - though you’ll have to leave it here so that the thing can print. If you’re legit making a car here, it’ll take about 2 days to finish printing it out at all, let alone assemble.”
“Danny, after I finish with that, we are so using this place for other projects together, do you understand me?”  Tucker saw doors that likely lead off to other rooms in the lab and wondered just how Much of Fentonworks there was.  “This is too amazing.”
“If you say so, bro.  Here, let’s get started.  I can help with setting up the print file.”
Sam had to say, going through the bs of school was beyond irritating when both of her friends were barred from the school until they could get around the weapons the Fentons were installing.  Paulina’s gratingly loud personality was especially difficult to tune out that day, and Sam found herself feeling proud of her self control in not throwing something at the shallow cheerleading idiot when she started going on and on about the upcoming spirit week.
Once school was out, Sam grabbed the board that Danny apparently made for her after he finished Tucker’s, though she wasn’t sure how, and put on her helmet.  New, magnetic boots planted firmly on the board, Sam pulled out her phone, put in the address of the Skulk and Lurk, and activated the Nav AI that Tucker had managed to make an app for to download.  “One of these days Tucker is going to overwork himself into an early grave.” Shaking her head Sam took off into the sky, and no amount of gothic reputation could keep the smile off her face or prevent her from cheering.  “Woooohoooo!” Who could possibly blame her? She was flying .  There was nothing more awesome than this that she knew of.
When she arrived, Sam had her board hover itself up to the roof, where it was less likely to get snatched by someone who thought it’d be cool to snag a hoverboard.  Walking into the store, Sam took off her helmet and grinned. The Skulk n Lurk was one part book store, one part poetry reading area, and one part coffee shop. It had the gothic, occult theme down pat with black, blue, and shades of purple being the only colors to be found around the store.  Heading straight into the books section, Sam managed to flag down an employee and nudged him in the arm. “Nice mohawk, Chris, I see you’re branching out.”
Chris turned around, hair dyed a brilliant blue and his clothes all pastel shades of purple and grey with a bat-shaped nametag pinned on his chest.  He smiled and elbowed her right back. “Yeah, just got it done the other day. How’re you holdin up, Sam? Parents still trying to push you into being a prep?”
“Such is my curse.”  Sam sighed and leaned heavily on Chris while he laughed.  “But, that’s not what I’m here for today. Think you can help me find some books on magick?”
“Cursing people is wrong, and will always go wrong for you, I hope you know that.”
Sam rolled her eyes, standing up straight.  “It’s not for cursing anyone, Chris, it’s for something else.”
“Hitting that cheerleader with a love spell is not the way to go about getting over your crush on her.”  Chris smirked and turned away from her, walking steadily while Sam scoffed and scowled at him.
“That’s gross on two fronts.  A love spell sounds ridiculously creepy, and I don’t have a crush on Paulina of all people.”  Sam made a gagging noise and Chris laughed yet again.
Ludicrous notions about cheerleaders aside, Chris lead Sam to a section about magick and left to go help another customer while Sam browsed.  She held her hand up, letting her fingers brush over the spines of the books as she read their titles and stilled. There was a vibration, warm and far more humid than any bookstore should be and humming so much like Danny and Agatha and even that piece of trash Grovsner did when she was close.  It was a feeling that she hadn’t really noticed until now that all of the ghosts she’d encountered shared, however few of those there were. The tiny hairs all over her arms and the back of her neck stood on end and Sam grabbed the book.
Roots, stems, rain, warmth, leaves, petals, heat, crushing cold, withering emptiness, life granting rain and growth .  Sam dropped the book and just barely bit off a loud swear, staring at the cover.  Magick: The Life Blood of the Earth.  “Well.  Danny can see weird shit, I guess I can feel it.  Being that close to the portal must’ve done something to me.”  Picking up the book slowly, Sam waited for any weird feelings to hit her again.  When none did, she grinned slowly. “Let’s see what I can do with that.”
Danny takes some of the time after fighting Skulker to relax at home, get his schoolwork done that was emailed to him, and figure out a plan for working around the school's new anti-ghost security system.  It had been two days already and he was coming up blank. Of course, it's at dinner that Danny thinks to ask his parents. "Hey Mom, you said the Fenton Finder works by keeping track of a ghost's ectosignature, right?  What is that, exactly?" Jazz, as she standardly did when Danny instigated ghost-themed rants, looked as offended as one might have had their mother been described with every cuss word in the dictionary. She stabbed her chicken alfredo while holding this look for 5 continuous seconds without blinking.
Mom smiled wide and ecstatic.  "Well you see, Danny, an ectosignature is the frequency of electrical signals running throughout a ghost's body, shaping its form and directing its actions."
"Like brainwaves?"
“Exactly, hon!”  Mom reached into her pocket and pulled out a macaroon, which Danny devoured immediately.  “When a ghost manifests outside of the Ghost Zone, its ecto signature is a signal being broadcast from the Ghost Zone into our reality.  Since ghosts are 4-dimensional constructs made of exotic matter that of which exists beyond our standard perceptive abilities, a ghost can receive this ectosignature from just about anywhere on Earth or beyond.  Like the best cellular reception in the universe.”
“Like any signal though, an ectosignature can be tracked!  And that signal can be disrupted and blocked!” Dad only spoke in exclamation points Danny realized some time ago.  He waved his fork around in presentation at the blueprint that his mind had likely superimposed on the air next to him.  “The Fenton Thermos™ uses charged ectoplasm and what I’ve coined as Fentonite to isolate any ectoplasmic mass contained inside of it from its corresponding ectosignature by creating a four-dimensional enclosure!  The filthy ghost is still charged with the ectosignature though, there’s a centralized network of energy that allows the ghost to immediately take on its form after it’s released.”
“So the ghost is conscious within the thermos?”
Mom shrugged.  “As conscious as a ghost can be, sweety.  It’s not an actual person or anything, just a static imprint of what used to be a person’s thoughts.  Like an A.I.”
“The Fenton Finder™ used scanners specially made to detect ectosignatures that are on our satellites up in space!  It’s also how our security system works, though that works off of scanners here in the house!”
"So is there a way to track down ghosts by their specific ecto signatures?  If you can track the general signals maybe you can create a way to lock into a specific one."
"Mm, I suppose we could!  That'd be useful for tracking down that scum that attacked you and friends!  We've got the blueprints for the ecto signature scanner down in the lab somewhere if you wanna try the idea out, son!"
"Will do, Dad.  I'll tell ya how it goes."  Danny grinned around his chicken and pasta.  He had a game plan now.
After dinner, Danny raced downstairs to print out the blueprint from the computer - his father stacked the blueprints in an infuriatingly chaotic way that Danny hadn't the patience to sort through - and then ran through the door on the left.  Behind it was a hallway into a tunnel, one that lead Danny to the alternative lab under the building right next to the house. Hopping into his wheely chair, Danny slid over the linoleum floor to his work table and laid down the blueprint.
"Alright, I can work with this.  A signal can be tracked, and it can be isolated.  Which means that My signal can be isolated and tracked specifically."  A smirk crossed his face. "Which means the scanners can be set to ignore my signal.  Perfect!"
Danny slid over to the laptop connected to a second Fenton Fabricator, glad that his parents were always thorough enough to make a back up of everything they did.  "This should be done in no time. Then Sam can help me test it and Tuck can- speak of the devil." Danny whipped out his phone and hummed, tilting his head at the simple message his best friend had sent him.
FriarTuck: Hey Dan, almost fin breaking the security in Sklkr's suit.  Bout to crack this badboi open n make it mine. Muahahahaha! Hyd?
"Ugh, stars, I don't wanna think about that asshole."  Danny shot back a quick reply and set his phone down, finding a notebook he typically kept around.  Writing in a code only he, Tucker and Sam knew, Danny got everything down that he could. "Skulker has been a major set back in my plan to prove not all ghosts are evil to Mom and Dad, and a few other weird developments made themselves known.  I can now see everything in the lower intensity ultraviolet spectrum 24/7 instead of having to concentrate, as well as the electrical currents running through everything; I can somehow see my emotional connections with people I'm close with and use those connections to influence their emotions as well as read them clearer than other aurae."  He stopped, taking a breath and looking over what he'd just written. " Mierda , ain't that creepy?"  Danny pulled on his hair a bit while he wrote.
"Joining that on the list of creepy-ass things about Danny: I can reach across that link to everyone and pull on their love and affection and all that and use it to heal myself.  Stars, that's such a gross way to look at everyone's care for me. Just a fucking- a bandaid? A free trip to the nurse in a minute?"
Turning back to the parts being made, Danny huffed and dragged his nails against his scalp a touch too roughly.  "Physiological changes in my ghost occur when Tucker and Sam are in danger; Canines grow into fangs and according to Sam my voice starts to echo as though it's coming from everywhere.  Thankfully a check in Tucker's mirror proves that the changes are temporary. Reaction to my temperament? On that note: being a psychoreactive exotic material, the ectoplasm that makes up my ghostly body reasonably reacts instantaneously to my emotions, but it seems to be enhancing them as well.  It's either that or maybe puberty, but I have a feeling puberty doesn't make you violently angry at the slightest provocation and likely to turn any ghost you see into a splatter on the ground." Danny groaned, closing his notebook. "I fucking Executed Skulker. What the fuck? Why didn’t I just suck him into the thermos?"
A ding from his phone and Danny snorted.
GardeningClaws: Hey Star boy, don't go angsting without us there to hug you.  We will know and you will pay the price.
"And what price is that, being buried in a pillow fort?"
GardeningClaws: do you know how many pillows I have in this house??  Do you think, like a fool, that I won't use them against you?
Danny laughed, sending a quick 'fair point' before heading to the door opposite the one into the house lab. Behind it was a room with rows of lockers, each holding three sets of suits.   Danny didn't need them though. At the far end, there was a large octagonal metal rim, blast doors sealed shut within.
Opening it up to just the right coordinates, Danny watched the doors pull back and felt the building charge of the portal's startup.  For a fraction of a second, Danny was filled with a bone-deep fear that gripped his entire body and held him stock still. With a thunderous crack, the fabric of space-time was folded around and torn, and Danny relaxed, staring out at an expanse of white and grey.  Opening the blast door, he let the void fill him up and spread outward to chill his bones and freeze his veins. Skin blue, eyes and freckles green and his fluffy hair snow-white, Danny flew past the event horizon and gasped silently at the sight before him.
The moon is so much more beautiful when you can look with your own eyes instead of through the lens of a helmet visor.
Sam, smartest of the group that she was, called Danny and Tucker both to head to her house for a horror movie marathon.  “After what we’ve been through, none of these B rate movies are gonna scare us.” It was so close to inarguably true that the boys both shrugged at their phones and headed on over.  Danny came down from the sky in that space where everything was heat and impossible colors, everything around him highlighted in a panorama view that almost made him dizzy. Landing in an alleyway, Danny checked to make sure he didn’t see anyone around him and took a deep breath.  He folded himself up, cold edges practically trapped within him tugged and bent until the brilliant moonlight that bled from his form retreated into the center of his chest, light and freezing cold as it hummed in an offbeat pulse next to his heart.
Pulling the hood of his jacket over his head, Danny jogged out of the alleyway and down the sidewalk with his hands in his pockets.  He looked around the neighborhood properly and hummed, wondering how he never put together that Sam was rich when the address she’d given them ages ago was very obviously in the rich part of town.  “Stars, we’re really just that oblivious aren’t we?” The stars in mind, Danny cast his gaze up and smiled at the full moon that greeted him, counting the tiny dots of the stars around it while he walked.  Thankfully, his odd kaleidoscopic vision seemed to extend to his human form a bit and his foot froze mid-step as a car drove past him at an intersection. “Sweet mother of the gods, why can rich people not drive right?”
When he got to the gates of Manson Manor, Tucker was there typing away at his phone.  When he looked up Danny waved and grinned, pointing a thumb at the huge mansion behind the gate.  “This is ridiculous.”
“It’s just so much .  Why does anyone need that much space?  How do they keep it clean?”
“If I meet some butler named Alfred I’m going to eat your hat.”
“Are you sure you wanna make that bet, Danny?  This is looking Batman-ish.”
The gate opened up before Danny could respond to that and instead, he nudged Tucker’s side before jogging toward the door.  Sam was there, opening it before Danny could trip on nothing and faceplant into the mahogany or whatever expensive wood the door was probably made from, and he instead landed on a soft carpet.  Tucker nudged his foot with his shoe and Danny groaned, resigned to simply laying there for the rest of his life. Two pairs of hands lifted him up from the ground however and Danny laughed, getting up properly.
“You can’t just let me wallow in my shame in peace, can you?”
“Of course not,” Sam scoffed.  “If you’re going to be ashamed, I have to be there to make sure it’s appropriate.  Now, c’mon!” Sam dragged Danny down a few halls, and up some stairs, followed closely by Tucker.
“I need to make a map of this place so we don’t get lost the next time we come to visit,” Tucker muttered, and Danny nodded.  When Sam opened the door she was headed for she let Danny go and grinned at them like a cat that’d eaten the canary. Walking in, Danny felt his jaw drop and took a moment to soak in what he was seeing.  “You have an entire movie theater in your house?”
“I know, it’s grossly excessive and we absolutely don’t need it, but-”
“Sam, what the heck are you talking about?”  Danny waved a hand in the goth’s face and snorted when she swatted at him.  “This is awesome! We can marathon every Dead Teacher movie here and it’ll be like when we went to see it in the actual theaters but better !”  Danny pulled down his hood and hopped over one of the chairs - of which there were two whole rows - and plopped himself into the soft cushioned seat with a laugh.  “The only thing that could make this room better would be if you had movie snacks.”
“Well, good thing I have a popcorn machine right back there full of fresh popcorn, a cotton candy machine, and ordered us pizzas.”  Sam grinned, sitting next to Danny with a bowl in hand full of greasy buttery popcorn, and Tucker sat on his right. “What should we watch first?”
Halfway into Dr. Sleep, the pizza arrived and three laughing teens had to pause the movie and pull themselves together from the heap of giggles that they’d become.  “Oh, oh stars, that hurt , laughing so much hurts!”  Danny leaned on Tucker while Sam leaned on him, the bowl of popcorn practically forgotten next to Tucker.  After a few minutes, Danny took a deep breath and patted his friends on the back. “I can grab the pizza - I can fly, so unlike you two I can actually go and be back before the things are cold.”  Before either friend could protest, Danny let the shimmering void of silvery dark cold spread out from the center of his chest to every hair on his body in a flash of light. He slipped through Sam and Tucker like water through the air and flew off toward the red aura of the pizza guy, diving to transform behind the front door when he appeared outside.  In just a moment he was back inside and setting three pizza boxes down on the snack table. “I see we got ourselves a meat-lovers for Tuck, a veggie everything for Sam, and-” Danny gasped. “A dragon’s tongue pizza for me! Aww, Sam~”
“Oh stuff it you goof,” Sam said as she and Tucker grabbed slices and plates.  “I just knew that you’d complain your pizza isn’t spicy enough unless it has ghost peppers, reaper peppers and every other kind of spice known to man and dolphin on it.”
Tucker rolled his eyes, already scarfing down his first slice.  “Dolphin? Really?”
“Dolphins are the closest animals to humans in behavior and observed intellect, Tucker.”  Danny took the time to go through three slices of pizza while Sam ranted about how dolphins might as well be classified as non-human people before pointing accusatorily at her.
“There is nothing wrong with my sense of taste, thank you.  Anyone with a strong enough tongue can handle this pizza, Sam.”  Danny took a bite to emphasize his point and smirked when he was flipped off.  “I’ve just got the strongest stomach here.”
“ Excuse you? ”
“Unlike you, I can eat veggies without my stomach declaring a mutiny.”
“Um, go fuck yourself?  That was the lowest of all low blows, I am utterly betrayed !”  Tucker covered his forehead with the back of his arm and half fell backward.  “Truly, my trust has been shattered by mine own brother, how could you? And I’ll have you know that the amount of capsaicin you consume is well beyond what any human being should have in their body.”
“Funny, I’m pretty sure I’m not human.”  Danny paused mid-chew, ignoring the look of disgust on Sam’s face over the two of them talking around their food.  “I wonder… what smaller changes like that might be going on because of my ghost? Like, regular puberty is already horrible enough but now I’ve got like, ghost puberty to deal with.”
“First of all, ghost wise, you’re baby.”  Danny pouted at Tucker, feeling mildly offended.  “You haven’t even been half-dead for a whole year yet, you’re baby.”
“Tucker, can you be reasonable for one moment?”  Danny nodded, gesturing to Sam, who was clearly the only one with her head on straight between them.  “Danny is always baby, not just because of his ghost.”
Crossing his arms over his chest, Danny rose up in front of the movie screen, less crossed in the air as he frowned down at his friends.  “I am offended, I am revolted, I dedicate my life to our lord and savior Jesus Christ and this is the thanks I get?”
“I wonder,” Sam said loudly as she walked toward his pizza box.  “What it would taste like if I put cotton candy on your pizza?” Danny dove for his pizza box, nearly crashing into Sam as he grabbed it up and flew toward the ceiling.  He flipped upside down and stood with his feet to the ceiling, grinning down at his friends. Carefully opening his box he took out a slice and stopped.
“Sammy that is a wonderful question!”  Gravity shifted, reasserted itself in the correct direction, and Danny flipped with it, landing in front of the cotton candy machine.  He dipped his pizza slice into it and smirked at the despaired wail of his friend while he ran away from her, munching away at his unholy pizza slice.  “This is so sad, Alexa-”
“You don’t think I’d have Alexa in my home, do you?  First you defile my cotton candy, now you insult my common sense?  Do me a favor and parish.”
“Been there, done that.”
“As amazing as all that is, I was wondering something about you, Danny.”  Danny flew over to Tucker, landing on his shoulders with a snicker. “So like, can you do that thing from the movie?  Like, turn your head all the way around like an owl?”
A wide grin spread over Danny’s face and he set his food down on the table, before pulling the void up and out and around himself.  Bright silver light illuminated Tucker and cast odd shadows on his face. To think about later.   Danny turned his head slowly, cautious of being wrong, and almost stopped when he heard the pop of the joints in his neck.  Still, he kept going until he was looking at Sam’s gaping face right behind him.  He raised a hand to give her a thumbs up and winced at the sound of more popping joints - though, fascinatingly enough… “None of this hurts at all.”
“Well now I gotta see you spider-walk up the walls, that’s just the natural result of you showing off like this, Danno.”  Turning his head the rest of the way around, Danny saw Tucker’s phone pointed at him and snorted. “Dude this is wicked !”
“Oh my gods, we have to time you, hold on.”  And like that, Danny was doing laps around the walls and ceiling, reversed on all fours while Sam timed him and Tucker recorded.  When he dropped back down to the two rows of seats, Danny crossed his legs behind him with a hum.
“Anything else y’all wanna test?”  Tucker raised his hand and Danny let his gaze slide from Tucker himself to the brilliant yellow-gold-grek air around him.  “I’m going to regret hearing out this question, aren’t I?” Tucker nodded, his grin widening and the grek in his aura growing brighter.  Danny sighed and pointed at his brother.
“Can you possess people?  Cause that would be pretty fuckin cool.”  Tucker T posed as if that would help Danny with the wave of discomfort that crashed over him at the idea.  “How would you know? Go ahead, try me. See if you can like, take me over.”
Danny drew the darkness back into his chest, warmth and the beat of his heart and the weight of gravity tugging relentlessly against him like countless invisible chains made themselves known to him.  Digging in his pocket, Danny pulled out a coin, looking at Tucker with as much seriousness on his face as possible. “Heads I tell you to yeet your PDA into the cotton candy, tails I try to possess you.”  Danny flipped the quarter and caught it in his open palm. He took in a deep breath through his nose, and let it out the same way. “Shut.”
Slipping back into the void, Danny stared at his Tposing best friend and considered just how he was supposed to do what he had asked.  The only thing that made any sense, of course, was to slide even deeper into the void. Light and sound and even the air circulating through the room all faded away and the world shifted like a gradient scale from Xtreme Indigo to a deep dark blue sprinkled with green that lit up the empty world in bands, rivers, and threads that Danny could’ve stared at for the rest of his life and probably never grown tired of.  The only constants were the gold and green aurae at the ends of silver threads that shone like solid moonlight. Danny dove for the golden light and dipped a hand in where he guessed Tucker’s head was. The silver thread practically yanked him in, and Danny sank into a desert of yellow and glittering light.
In the next instant, he was blinking unfamiliar eyes, falling out of a dumb pose he hadn’t taken, stumbling on legs longer than he was used to and warmer than he’d been in months.  “Holy shit.” Danny held out his - Tucker’s hands and turning them over each other again and again. He took a few testing steps forward and back, turning and stretching every way he’d ever seen Tucker move, and felt a laugh bubble out of hi-Tuck’s mouth.  “Sam holy shit!”
Sam was staring at Tucker-Danny like he was the most out of this world thing she’d ever laid eyes on and she wasn’t sure how to react to him.  The cheer of figuring out yet another ability dimmed at the sight of her expression and what might’ve been horror was building itself up in his chest.  Then Sam schooled her expression and pointed at him. “You sound the way you do when the two of you are speaking in unison.”
“I feel like I’m wearing a costume that doesn’t fit right, I’ll be honest about that.  Stars, Tucker’s vision is horrible.”
“Alright, that voice thing is actually getting annoying, can you like, leave him now?”  A moment of silence passed, the room growing incredibly small and Sam stepped closer. “Danny, you can leave Tucker’s body now, right?”
“Gimme a second, Sam, I didn’t know I could go into him in the first place.”  Danny huffed and closed his eyes. He focused on what was different and wrong about being in Tucker’s body instead of his own, thought about floating upward to the surface of a large body of water, the moon coming to his mind’s eye and he reached for it.  There was a solid kick at the edge of his shadows, golden sands rising up and filling the empty space to push him up and out toward the moonlight and-
Danny flopped onto the ground face first, sensing a trend of him faceplanting on Sam’s floor, and Tucker let out a loud gasp.  “Holy balls, that was weird as fuck !”  Danny flipped around onto his back, letting his own familiar warmth and heartbeat fill his senses before he looked up at Tucker and found him wiggling his fingers and toes.  “It was like blacking out or something. I had the weirdest dream where I was like, I dunno, made of fire or something?”
“It was a lot of weird, hard to describe feelings on my end but mostly like a suit that doesn’t fit right.  Like, I know what my body feels like and that wasn’t mine, ya know?” Sam and Tucker nodded and while Danny knew they had absolutely no idea what he meant, it was relieving all the same.  Standing up, Danny reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out the scanner he’d printed earlier. “By the way, I made something that’ll help me get back into school.”
Tucker, without missing a beat, said, “That sounds like a horrible evil device.”  Sam snorted and Danny nodded. “What does it do?”
Danny launched into an explanation of what he’d learned about ectosignatures and his idea for tricking the security system at school.  “Also,” Danny added when it came to mind, “the car should be done printing in my basement by now.”
“Wait, you not only finished designing it but also started making it?”  Sam looked between them with narrowed eyes. “What do you mean printing?”
“The Fenton Fabricator™ is a giant, modular, high detail 3D printer that can make complex metal technologies - like our hoverboards.  The first 3D printed car took a couple of days and it wasn’t as complicated as this so I guessed about 48 hours.” Danny shrugged. “Probably done by now.”
“Isn’t that cool?”  Tucker practically had stars in his eyes.  “We can build anything in there, Sam!”
“Before that, we gotta get this ecto signature of Danny’s recorded."  Sam held up the scanner and Danny nodded. Things had to happen in the right order or things would go wrong.
Danny reached inside of himself and pulled the dark, endless space between space that rested within him out to wrap around him like a cool, relaxing blanket.  The extreme indigo of the world rose to an even more brilliant blue and purple that blended together and unwove from each other and wrapped around everything. Tucker shone from within with gold that glittered like desert sands and Sam was wreathed in the viridian green of the forests.  The threads between them were silver and thick as though woven from many. "I never need to take drugs cause all I need to do to get a trip is go ghost. I swear."
"Yeah, well, I think I have the reading on you right here.  Tucker, can you make any sense of this?" Tucker rolled over and stared at the data on the Fenton Finder remake.   After a moment of silence, Tuck started tapping away at his PDA ferociously. "I'm gonna guess that means yes."
"I can record this signal and have a filter to keep the school's system from recognizing you as a threat by tonight.  Think we can break in and do it then?"
"Probably," Danny shrugged, flipping a few times in the air.   "Ishiyama probably had them set the security system to an activation button or lever or verbal input.  They wouldn't want them to make something automatic in case a ghost was too close to a student."
"Fair.  Tomorrow night then?"  Tucker grinned as Danny tucked that blanket of not so empty empty space back into the very center of his everything and flopped onto his seat.
"Sooner I can tell my family we beat Skulker the better.  I don't like worrying them like this." Ever since his Spirit Vision or whatever got turned permanently on, Danny could feel the undercurrent of anxiety that ran through his family.  It made his skin crawl with the itch to make them all feel better and left a bitter taste on his tongue.
"Agreed, I can only keep this info from my parents for so long."  Sam sighed, rolling her eyes. With a grin she handed the scanner fully over to Tucker and ran a hand through Danny's hair, messing it up as much as she could.
Danny swatted away Sam's hand after a moment and sank further into the soft cushiony seat.   "Your chair is eating me, Sammy."
"You've been getting a healthier amount of meat on you, so yeah it might be."  Tucker was steadily getting engrossed in his task and Danny knew they had precious few seconds before he was completely lost to them so he decided now was a good time to be a dick.
“So like, when the first hoverboard exploded and I put up a forcefield on a reflex we completely skipped over that cause of hyper-focus but like.  Should we talk about that?"
"You have protective instincts," Tucker mumbled, "and ghost stuff reacts to the deeper parts of your mind right?   So it's just you defending someone you care about."
"Which reminds me."  Sam poked Danny in the sides until he was squirming and giggling to get away.   "You're keeping like, a journal of all the things you can do right?"
"Mostly notes on what I learned about ghosts in general, like a bullet point list of the stuff that happened with Agatha and Skulker, and stuff but yeah.  I need to add ‘owl neck’ and ‘possession’ to my list of Things I Can Do."
“And what, pray tell, is on that list?”
"I can turn intangible or invisible, defy- no, actually, with what happened at the zoo I guess I can influence gravity, I can see all the radiation in the world, which is a trip lemme tell ya, I can apparently make a wall of ectoplasm?"  Tucker and Sam were staring at him for a long beat of silence before both were tackling Danny and pulling him into a big group hug. “I know, I’m awesome, but so are you guys and you should celebrate it.”
“Yeah, I am pretty awesome,” Tucker said with a grin.  “You guys are lucky to know me. I feel I deserve a reward for the amazingness I bring to this group.”  Tucker was promptly dropped by Sam onto the floor and Danny laughed.
“Another cool thing you can do is heal yourself and other people.” Sam poked Danny in the side until he was squirming away from her in that unreal state of being, slipping through her fingers like the space between air and flopped onto Tucker’s lap before solidity came back to him.  “That’s probably one of the coolest powers you have.”
“One day, Tucker is going to copy everything I can do, but with technology.”  Danny poked Tucker a couple of times and got his hand swatted away for his trouble.  “He’s already copied my language-”
“Spanish doesn't belong to you just because your dad is Mexican, Danny, try again.”
“And now he’s tryna say what’s mine isn’t even mine, can you believe this guy?”  Danny didn’t even try to hold in his laughter now, waving a hand emphatically in Tucker’s face.  “Next he’ll say I’m not the greatest ghost fighter in the world-”
“Your Mom.”
“Or the first boy to step foot on the moon-”
“Neil Armstrong - also, did you just say you walked on the m-”
“Or the unthinkable, like I’m not the very first Fenton that’s gonna be built like a brick house.”
“No no, you can’t just talk your way out of this one, Danny, you were on the moon? ”  Ah, Danny loved riling up his friends.

Phase 1: BLUE | Peter Parker | Soulmate AU!
Pairing: Peter Parker x reader
Series: Additive Colors
Warning(s): this story is set between Homecoming and Infinity War, swear words, badass reader.
Word count: 1.8K
Side note: heyyy, it’s been a long time since i’ve posted something online, but i hope you enjoy this <3
Peter blasted web after web at Queens' buildings. After Liz left because of him (even if she wasn’t his soulmate, he liked her anyway), his patrols as friendly neighborhood Spider-Man became crude, crass. The streets had no taste, no color until everything around him changed in an instant.
He crashes into a supply lorry, denting it just slightly. Peter stood up the instant he hit the ground oblivious to the worried bystanders.
I need to get somewhere high.
Peter's mind activated autopilot the moment a balcony came into his shaky view. His stiff feet landed on the balcony's rail. He seemed a panther looking for its prey amidst the jungle —a spider waiting for the fly to get trapped in its webs. He searched for a person instead of prey. What he felt the moment his life did a one-eighty was exactly what he was hunting —perplexity.
A girl struggling for breath chasing colors appeared under his eyes and his blurry view cleared. The people pulsed around her, they were fast-paced whilst she had no pace whatsoever.
Peter can't remember landing in front of her but he faced the girl anyways. Without any first words or glances, he picked her up and shot a spider-web to the top of a building. It took a moment for the girl to assess the case at hand. Usually, she'd be the one striking the first word —and as a bad habit, she’d get the last word too— but this time her mind went numb. To distract herself from the suited hero in front of her, she stared at the sky —a thing she could never appreciate before. In the corner of her eye, she sensed him imitating her. The question throbbed in her mind, in her throat, and on her tongue. If the answer to her question were "yes"... What would it mean to him? What would it mean to her? What would it mean to both of them?
Too many feelings at once. I think there was a word to describe the churning in my stomach.
Spider-Man stared at the blank canvas painted on the girl beside him. Her gaze set on a distant cloud the moment Karen pulled out her personal details. The boy behind the mask assumed he shared the same emotions as the girl next to him. His brows kept knitted together as he read the girl's file. With difficulty, a gulp passed through his tight throat.
"You're... seeing the same thing, right?" It was unusual for Peter to take the first step but the more he read her file... the more he urge to know if she was... the one.
"Blue, the sky's blue." A pause before indulging in her dramatics. "It's haunting to realize just now the beauty of the wild blue yonder which was over our heads all this time." She hasn't stared at him yet, the jetting jaw painfully clear in his sight. "I'm at a loss for words. My soulmate being Spider-Man and all that —God I really hope you're a teenager."
He carefully watched her every moving muscle. Still, he can't grasp the instant she faced him. For once, Peter felt as if someone were looking right through his mask and into his eyes.
The words sunk in and he felt his body heat up. "No! No! Don't worry! I'm... I'm not some creepy-old-man, I swear! I go to Midtown —ah! Shouldn't have said that. Forget I said that. Mr. Stark would dissect me if he knew I said that." The girl couldn't stop the laughter that crawled through her lungs as she stared at the hero's wobbling arms. "Karen, no! Delete that footage! Oh my God, Mr. Stark cannot hear that."
"Karen?" She managed through giggles.
Peter stared at her amusing raised brow, her smile reaching the eyes. The sight made him smile too.
He somewhat regained his calm composure after Karen erased the footage. "Artificial intelligence built-in the suit."
"Did you develop her?" He couldn't fail to notice the spark in her eyes the moment he mentioned the AI.
"No, uh, Mr. Stark did." He almost experienced a hard attack when Karen announced to Spider-Man a message from Tony Stark which said he was on the street under his apartment. "Oh, God, I want to stay here and get to know you but right now Mr. Stark needs me."
A pang went through his chest at her disappointing stare.
"Listen, you're not supposed to know who I am. So we'll just have to get to know each other this way." He pointed at his mask with both pointer fingers. "We'll make it work — I think."
"Can you tell me at least your name?"
"Sorry." He hugged her.
"I'll swing by your place when I get time. See ya, (Y/N)."
In a blink, he was gone. Spider-Man didn’t even need to ask her name, she was sure that he even knew where she lived in an instant. A shiver ran through her spine.
(Y/N) doesn't know how she managed to stay on her legs for so long without trembling. But the moment he disappeared, she instantly laid in the on the cold floor. The sky was still blue. Her brows knitted together but then relaxed and closed her eyes.
This is unfair... How come you get to know my name but I can't get yours.
A smirk painted on her face as a light bulb lit up in her mind.
Spider-Man, you might think you’re smart and mysterious. But the joke’s on you, I’m smart and mysterious too.
*******
It was too quiet in my apartment, the atmosphere more stuffy than usual. The dirt on the floor indicated that a person was here. On guard, I walk into the living room. The breath in my lungs got kicked out and in less than a second, I was on the floor with someone choking me.
A normal person would be scared in my place. But I am not an average girl. My situation is self-explanatory and it takes just one name: Jessica Jones.
Jessica taught me no mercy, Jessica forced me independence, Jessica trained me to take care of myself, better said: Jessica’s small group of Defenders beat the crap out of me — which made me tough.
Jessica took me in after my parents’ death and she’s taken care of me since then. The other Defenders appeared later on. In the beginning, Jess taught me self-defense and sometimes she’d break some of my bones by letting her real strength slip through.
“It’s how it is in the real world,” she’d say. “If you’re lucky, of course.” And the moment I’d hit the floor, she’d kick my obliques ready to kill. “If it’s an average day… they won’t hesitate.” She’d kick again. “That’s why you won’t hesitate either.”
The Defenders weren’t around for long. Still, I learned many things from them. Every one of them had their own style to teach and none was better than the other. Jessica taught me to endure the pain; Danny (Iron Fist) taught me to control my inner calm; Matt (Daredevil) taught me to concentrate; Luke taught me to manage my strength. Actually, Luke let me hit him as hard as I wanted so I had a human punching bag.
Jess never wanted me to live with her —she made it very clear. The moment she was sure I could manage, she got me an apartment in Queens and told me to enroll at Midtown School —a nerd school. I thought she was kidding and scoffed at the idea, but her lack of humor seemed obvious. After I went through Jessica’s stuff (once... on several occasions), the reason she wanted me to go to Midtown became clear: an offer to attend the school personally written by the principal. I ignored Jessica and enrolled in Queens Metropolitan High School.
But discovering that Spider-Man, my soulmate, goes to Midtown creates a twist in my life. Guess I’ll have to put up with the nerds for some time.
Transferring really seemed quick and simple given that it’s the school’s department that carries out the process. But then again, we’re talking about nerds. It took me less than a week to get all the papers right. And since nerds like everything neat, I could start on Monday.
I had really been pushing my feelings to the back of my head. But what am I actually going to do after I find my soulmate? Improvisation was my go to plan.
Anyways… what was I doing again? Oh yeah! Getting strangled.
Jessica’s face came into perfect view and her look betrayed intent to kill. She was between my thighs, her grip on my neck firm. It only takes her six seconds to make me unconscious. I don’t let her. My body switches to muscle memory at this point.
Cross grip.
Shoulder-blade.
Foot on hip.
Turn.
Boom.
Forward thrust with hips.
“Shit!” Jessica hurriedly skidded from me. “Why’d you break my arm for!?” We both knew it didn’t hurt as it should. And instead of pain traveling through her voice, it was indignation.
I scoffed, “you had worse.” I waved my hand dismissively before plopping on my sofa. “And I broke your elbow, not your arm —you’re the one who taught me.”
“Not that,” she grimaced.
Jess settled casually right next to me. I glanced at her elbow, knowing damn well she wasn’t going to get it treated properly —neither of us cared.
“So you’re finally listening to me.” I knew what she meant, Midtown. “Don’t want to admit it? Alright.” She stood up, her broken elbow long forgotten. The cork-board on the wall catches her attention. “You’re still into this?” She plays with one of the strings. She trails her finger across the string that’s different than the rest. “What does Spider-Man have to do with any of this?” I forgot Jess was able to recognize the colors on the board, all of them. Jess still loves Luke and it shows.
“The string’s blue.” Her body turned faster than I could imagine.
“When did this happen?” To ever understand what Jessica meant, you always had to look at the big picture. It was annoying at first but it helped to analyze the bigger picture in everything else.
“Like a week ago. I don’t know who’s under the mask... yet.”
“Yet?”
“The only thing I know right now is that he’s enrolled at Midtown.”
She scuffed, “figures.” Her gaze shifted back to the board. “And Spider-Man’s connected to Tony Stark in what way?”
“I don’t know but it’s obvious that there’s some connection.”
She stared at the center of it all: a picture of me. “A piece of advice: don’t do anything that I would.”
“Yes, mum.” Mockery. One stare was enough to know she wasn’t a fan of it.
I didn’t matter who she was, I wasn’t planning on listening to reason anytime soon.

to avoid extreme spam of anyone brave enough to follow me, i’m putting all of my 9.12 thoughts in one post. tl;dr: i loved it.
the (much, much) longer version:
the “previously on” starts with scenes from episode three or four of season one oh gosh
THIS IS A GRACE HIGHLIGHTS REEL. I’M ALREADY EMOTIONAL
first question of the night: rachel wakes up and finds that grace didn’t come home so she jumps in the car and races to danny’s, but where did she leave charlie in the middle of the night??? i’m assuming he was with her
i’ve already seen this very first bit in one of the previews but still: grace was driving a car that stan bought her two weeks ago and that DIDN’T HAVE PLATES YET and nobody told danny. there are so many things wrong with that
these actors are both so good in their despair though. the opening credits are just now starting and my heart has already been squeezed to a pulp???
steve!!! the very first thing we see after the credits is steve, sick with worry, half running into the hospital and speeding up when he sees danny to wrap him in a hug. he does this little hop thing?? that kills me??
so steve squeezes danny (and it kind of looks a little like danny was going for a handshake bro hug thing but steve just bulldozered over him and gave him the real hug they should be having? good steve) and then he rushes to rachel to hug her too, like a matter of course. i like that
oh noooo. the other girl’s dad turns up and blames he crash on grace (understandable under the circumstances but not helpful in the least) and as soon as steve realizes what’s happening he steps over to situate himself in between this guy and danny??? i love steve so much gosh
duke turns up with critical info and he tells steve about it??? not danny or rachel, and admittedly he maybe has a stronger bond with steve i guess but at least danny he definitely knows pretty well too (they’re ohana too, right?) but he tells steve about what’s technically danny’s daughter and there’s so many things to be read into that (the main thing obviously being that steve is as good as grace’s parent too and it’s canon fdjkfdjk)
i’m five minutes in at this point and i already have this much commentary. this is going to be long
i think i’ve said this before but: it’s not necessarily bad that stan bought grace a car. it’s not bad either that rachel didn’t tell danny, but if what rachel says and it’s because grace wanted to tell danny herself, then rachel should have put her foot down and not let grace go out with the car (that didn’t have plates yet??? that can’t be legal right?) until grace had actually told danny about it!!! rachel just doesn’t learn from her past mistakes about not telling danny shit about their kids that danny DEFINITELY should have been told and it’s a believable character flaw but it’s so painful
“there’s all kinds of things that happen that you should’ve told me about that you don’t tell me about, i’m used to it, alright? i’m used to it.” danny fucking knows and this is honestly the number one reason why romantic danny/rachel can’t ever work again as far as i’m concerned because it would be built on so much resentment and pain and pure shit that it’s just too much to put behind you, because they won’t ever be able to fully, completely trust each other again (and not all of it would be rachel’s fault, btw, i’m not saying that - it’s just that when she fucks up, she fucks up big time)
“i’m a cop now. i’ll keep it professional.” [cut to tani pushing her suspect out of his chair and onto the floor] well, you know, she’s got a point there. that’s exactly what professional looks like to five-0 (i like this secondary plotline a lot though! tani as protective and slightly violent older sister is super interesting)
danny is calling steve to update him even though there’s barely any knews because steve deserves to know everything (and probably because danny’s wants to hear his voice, lbr) and it’s good
this phone call between tani and junior is also super sweet!! (though it does kind of add obvious fuel to the fire of parallels they’re drawing between tani&junior and danny&steve, whether that’s something you like or not)
the whole team is so concerned about danny and of course they are but it’s still really good to see!!
of course grace can’t just get in a car accident, it has to be some kind of a crime. (i don’t even really mind but it’s just so predictable, gosh. they need someone to blame)
kamekona and flippa are bringing food to the hospital!!! that’s so thoughtful!
charlie! he exists in this episode! i’m still slightly fuzzy on where he was all night (because noelani comes in with him but the way she then asks charlie if he wants to hang out doesn’t seem like he’s been with her this whole time, so where the hell was he?) but it’s good to see him now, at least
also!!! noelani babysitting charlie!!! EVERYONE IS HELPING OUT. OHANA. <3
danny had noelani bring some stuff for rachel which is good and kind but the sweatshirt thing makes me... a little concerned... about romantic connotations. but i’m stubbornly deciding to read this as a purely platonic gesture to help out a sort-of-friend/co-parent
OOPS steve calls because they located a phone that grace received a threatening text message from at the hospital, but is leading danny to this person really a good idea right now? oh gosh
oh god grace was helping a classmate that got bullied and she dropped a girl’s phone in someone’s beer to stop her from showing around a picture and i love grace
the thing is, right. the thing is. I KNOW that grace is going to be okay because she’ll be in the next episode, eating pancakes at danny’s and laughing with steve, but i’m STILL almost crying watching danny and rachel wait with all this sickening tension without knowing anything and then watching them rush to get some news only to hear there’s been a complication and all they can do, AGAIN, is wait more
it’s GOOD but it’s SO PAINFUL
steve, junior and lou watch a security tape of zippy’s where some creepy guy keeps coming up to grace and katie’s table and then grace gets up and clearly tells the guy to go away and a) that’s really good on its own but also b) steve’s proud “atta girl”!!! yes!!!
danny apologizes for being mean about the car, holy shit. and yes, he was a little mean, maybe, but he was also incredibly stressed and he had a right to be angry, god.
“i should have been more honest with you. about a lot of things.” at least rachel had realized that much, omg.
rachel is playing the “what if” game and danny tells her that she shouldn’t and it’s actually a really nice moment. i like this.
THAT VIDEO. and both rachel and danny just crying and crying and the mutual forehead kisses and comfort??? i think i’ve made it pretty clear that i don’t ever want romantic danny/rachel again but this? i LOVE this. they can’t be a couple but they can still be a team and family in this weird way through their kids.
danny is just sitting on the floor in a hallway now and steve finds him and sits down next to him before they even say a single word and i’m already swamped with feelings just from that. i’m easy like that djfdkjf
steve says that grace is really taking after danny by going after bullies and standing up for the little guy and danny says “i think maybe she gets that from you more than me” anD I AM DECEASED. RIP ME. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO HANDLE THESE FAMILY FEELS??
i’m not going to quote their entire conversation about steve being in more of grace’s pictures than danny and steve saying they should throw grace a big graduation party in steve’s backyard and danny actually smiling about something but i COULD because this is EVERYTHING I EVER WANT.
rachel finds them with the news that grace is OKAY and FUCK YES but also???? danny and steve’s expressions of relief???? are the exact same??????? and then there’s THAT ONE HUG that involves danny and rachel and steve, all three of them, and at this point literally nobody can convince me that steve isn’t as much a parent to grace as either of these other two
ALSO. LET ME JUST TALK ABOUT THAT HUG FOR A BIT. danny and rachel fall into each other’s arms because duh, at this point, of course you’d hug, and danny kind of swings them around a bit and then REACHES FOR STEVE who’s standing there right next to them with his hands on his hips and just DIVES into it and rachel makes room for him too? and then they’re CLINGING TO EACH OTHER and steve has closed his eyes and wrapped himself around them and he has his chin on danny’s shoulder and danny is smushed between them and have i given of the vibe that I LOVE THIS yet because I DO
grace! we get to see grace in color for the first time this episode!
there’s a party for grace at danny’s home!!! and danny says he didn’t know about it and i’m leaning towards believing him because i can easily be 100% convinced that this was steve’s doing oh gosh
GRACE AND STEVE HUG. literally just the hug content in this episode is lethal to me oh shit
“we’re still here, okay. anytime you need us, we got you.” PRIME DAD!STEVE. FUCK YES.
djfdjkfd @ steve somewhere in the background when kamekona mentions the restaurant going “i still prefer the name steve’s”
koah’s thing about appreciating tani and appreciating being brought into this big weird family????? almost made me cry again
OH NO. yep i was bracing for this already because i’d seen enough people talking about this, but i’m at the end, with danny and rachel outside at a small table and danny brings her some food they ate at their first date and she points that out and he says that it’s on the menu because it was their first date meal and, uhhhh, no. nope. don’t do that, come on, guys, what the fuck
alright, so yes, there are pretty undeniable flirting vibes here, but i’m stubborn. i’m still going to deny them. i’m going to view this as a happy end where danny and rachel have been brought a little closer together as divorced parents of two kids and where they can share a moment again without it devolving into a fight and i’m choosing to let that be all it is. and steve’s look and smile at them? that would honestly be out of character if it was supposed to be “oh i’m happy that danny might be getting back together with his ex-wife” so obviously i’m going to interpret that as “oh i’m happy that danny and rachel seem to be getting along platonically because that’ll make danny and grace and charlie’s life easier”
okay, now that i’ve seen all of it, two things:
what happened to katie??? she was just as bad off as grace from what we heard but we never got to hear if she was alright??? and the thing with her dad was never resolved either???
MELISSA. remember, danny’s girlfriend??? i’m about 99.9% sure we never heard that she and danny broke up, unless i missed something, and i don’t think i did. so. what the fuck are we supposed to think there? i’m not certain they’ve mentioned her once this season but at the same time danny was definitely teasing steve about his lack of dates in 9.01 and that was a prime opportunity for steve to say something, anything, to danny about danny’s dating life as a comeback, but they didn’t take that chance so at that time i assumed he was still with melissa. but? now they seem to be doing this thing with rachel? and melissa has been forgotten? i see people in the fandom say that danny is single all the time and i get it because at this point it’s an assumption that makes sense, with how little melissa has been mentioned for seasons now, but we’ve never gotten confirmation of that and it bugs the hell out of me because she’s a character that supposedly played a big role in his life at one point and she was in multiple episodes and now they don’t even have the time for like, one line of dialogue that somehow tells us what’s what? the complete irony here is that i never really liked danny and melissa’s relationship (she is so young for him, and that’s just the start of it) and now i sound like i’m defending it when really i just don’t want this poor woman to be treated so ridiculously. i swear i’m going to file a missing persons report omfg where is melissa #melissadeservedbetter
aside from my bitterness about melissa though - i LOVED this episode. it was tense and painful and i’m as concerned about the danny/rachel hints as the next guy, but it’s not that explicit here and i do like seeing them together as friends so i’m good with it for the most part for now? and there was SUCH good dad!steve content and some amazing steve/danny and the steve-danny-rachel hug killed me as much as i’d hoped and there was a steve and danny hug and a steve and grace hug and the sideplot was great too and i loved seeing tani and koah together more, and i just??? really loved almost every second of it a lot

BUCKLE UP MOTHERFUCKERS I WAS PROVOKED TO MAKE A LIST OF REASONS WHY DANNY AND SAM DEF DESERVE TO END UP TOGETHER SO HERE WE GO:
They’re best friends. They really know each other. Remember when Danny recognized that Sam wanted to go to the dance? Yes, they understand each other.
They’re def in sync (not like the musical group). They always say the same things at the same time. They think similarly.
She already knows his family is insane. No entrapment here.
He also knows her parents are basically batshit crazy too.
Sam gets along with his family really well. She gets along with Jazz way before there was forced tension in Girls’ Night Out.
Sam keeps Danny grounded and in check. He basically does the same for her. They balance each other out well. They also have a lot in common even though their personalities are quite different. Very protective of their friends, passionate, etc.
E V E R Y O N E knows they have chemistry together and would “always end up together”. Tucker. Valerie. Paulina. Danny’s dad. All of Casper High basically. Hell, even some of the ghosts know (Ember, Kitty, Nocturne, Walker to an extent).
Sam was already his friend before the accident. Like they went through their awkward middle school years together and that’s hardcore.
Sam knows all the dark and creepy shit, which actually helps him fight ghosts (Pandora, Fright Knight).
Sam also doesn’t mind getting in on the action. She WANTS to help. She knows how to work the weapons, etc. She fucking jumps onto a moving train when Danny is under Freakshow’s control to help him and she doesn’t have any powers to help her, she’s just ready to fight at all times.
Even when Danny is under control, he still saves her and she helps pull him out of the spell several times.
Both are willing to cave for the other person, even if it’s not something they support. Sam keeps her family’s money a secret and has the “utter disdain for anything popular”, yet she’s willing to buy Danny that stupid jumpsuit thing for Dash’s party because Danny wants to be popular, even though he treats her like shit in that episode and he basically ditches her and Tucker.
Sam obviously likes him, yet she still wants him to be happy even if it’s not with her.
Same goes for Danny. He gets hella jealous when she’s with Gregor but he still comes to terms with things.
They already argue like a couple. They fight like Jack and Maddie in the Fright Before Christmas.
They’re hella supportive of each other. Sam went to the football game when she was sick to support him being a mascot.
They never really picked on each other or bullied each other, looked down on the other, etc.
Danny finds Plant Sam hella attractive and you can’t convince me otherwise.
Jack got the ring engraved with Sam’s name. Hello Captain Obvious.
The voice actors always knew they would end up together too (explained in the Nick podcast with the trio + Jazz’s voice actors).
Their relationship is built on friendship and loyalty and trust. Danny protects her, she protects his secret. It’s not just attraction, but a mutual respect for each other which is hella important.
All the blushy moments.
They just love kissing each other, don’t they?
They both just like each other all the time. Not even necessarily romantically. Also they share that experience (yes, with Tucker too) of the accident and fight together. That bonds you for life no matter what.
Because I fucking said so.

The Legend of Frosty the Snowman REVIEW:
Hello there everybody. My name is JoyofCrimeArt and welcome to the third review in my month long "Deviant-cember." special event. If you where here last time you would of seen my review of the 1992 holiday specials "Frosty Returns." But as I said at the end of that review, we're not done with Frosty the Snowman just yet. Because there's not just one, but two Frosty the Snowman sequels that came out after the fact that weren't created by Rankin-Bass. One was "Frosty Returns" and the other was 2005's "The Legend of Frosty the Snowman." which we are going to talk about today!
Tumblr media
 "The Legend of Frosty the Snowman," as previously stated, was a 2005 special direct to DVD special created by Classic Media and Studio B productions, and was designed to be a "broad strokes reboot." of Frosty the Snowman. Other then that, there's not much history behind this special other then the fact that they use to show this all the time on Cartoon Network when I was younger. How does this special hold up to the other entries in the Frosty mythos? Well, let's dive in and find out.  The special opens up in the dark and creepy attic of an old man...  ...Not the best place to start.  All jokes aside, this is where we meet our celebrity narrator, this time played by Burt Reynolds. He introduces us to the story, just like all of the past narrators have done in these specials, and he has an advantage over Johnathan Winters because he is not a scary gremlin man. So points to this special right off the back.  The special starts with a series of chained up crates being magically opened, with Frosty the Snowman's hat locked inside. The hat, free from it's shackles, flies out the window. The narrator tells us that Frosty the Snowman always goes where he is needed. We then get to see our main character of the special, Tommy Tinkerton, (played by Kaith Soucie.) Tommy, and his brother Charlie, are woken up by there father Mr. Tinkerton, and told to get ready for school.  Now might be a good time to talk about these three characters. Tommy, our main character, is rather bland. Now granted the main kid characters in all of the Frosty special where bland, with Holly from "Frosty Returns." being the closest to not bland, but still not quite making it. So Tommy being the boring "generic kid" character isn't really that much of a surprise. Tommy's brother, Charlie, on the other hand I actually kinda like. He's the stereotypical "big brother bully" character but with the added twist of, rather than being a delinquent he's actually a of a stickler for the rules, which is an interesting combination of traits that you don't see that much of in characters. It gives him a bit of depth, or at least by Frosty the Snowman standards, which is not much.  And then we have Tommy's dad, Mr. Tinkerton. He is the mayor of the town (called Evergreen) and also one of the whitest humans to ever white. This is appropriate because he is voiced by Tom Kenny, who is also one of the whitest people to ever white. This guy is a control freak, to a cartoonish extent. Granted, that's obviously the point of the character, and it's used for comedy, but still. It's a bit insane. He goes outside to inspect the city, I guess, and he goes to make sure that the sun rises at exactly six am. (Which by the way is frickin' earily for the sun to rise in winter.) He licks a sidewalk (to test how clean it is.) And then he "convinces." a flower to be in bloom despite it being winter. This Mayor is frickin' nutty to say the least.  He then goes back inside his house to "inspect." his family before the kids go off to school. Now I know this is all suppose to be played for laughs, and Tom Kenny's voice does make it much harder to find this scene terrifying, but all I'm saying was that if you put these scenes and played them off a little different it would come off as a LOT more cultish. It kinda comes off like that one dystopian future run by Ned Flanders in the fifth Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episode.
Tumblr media
(Look at those eyes. Those are eyes of true fear.)    Mr. Tinkerton inspects his kids and they they go off in there single file line off to school. The narrator tells us that the kids in this town never stepped out of line, unless it was on accident. Then as there walking they all slip on some ice, causing a massive chain reaction causeing Tommy to knock over a mailbox, which makes a car swerve into a fire hydrant. The fire hydrant burst releasing a massive flood of water that instantly freezes, causing the kids to slip more until they crash into city hall. And do you want to know what the messed up thing is? The special heavily implies that it was FROSTY who did this. Because right as Tommy is getting up after crashing into the wall of city hall, he see's the hat fly by and land on the school statue. And this special establishes that in this incarnation Frosty can use magic without being built, because the hat itself is sapient and magical in it's own right. And Frosty's consensus is held there.  What the heck Frosty, what did you do all of that for? To show them about non conformity by forcing them out of there line? I mean yeah, you did that, but you also nearly killed these kids! And what about that guy driving the car? He easily could of died, and now he has to ride the bus everyday to work! Frosty is just a being of pure Chaos!
Tumblr media
FRICKIN' REK'D SON! (Part Deuce!)   Tommy goes and talks to his nerdy black best friend, Walter. (Cause you have to have a nerdy black best friend. "Danny Phantom" taught me so.) And talks about how he's going to ask out his crush, Sara, out. Walter teases Tommy, saying that he says that everyday by Tommy tells him that "There's something different about today."  Tommy makes it to school where he sees the flying hat again, and tries to tell the school principal, Principal Pankley, about it. Unfortunately for Tommy the head fly's off before the principal can see it, and he yells at Tommy telling him to get to class.  In the classroom we see that things are just as strict and cultish as they are outside. It seems that Principal Pankley is just as strict and uptight as Tommy's dad is, only he's a lot meaner about it. He also seems to stalk the classrooms watching the students just to make sure that the students are acting in line. Shouldn't he have like, paperwork to do, or something? Tommy once again see's the Frosty hat, this time outside the school window. But since hes in class there isn't much he can do about it.  The school day ends Tommy tries to talk to his crush, Sara, but he strikes out. We then cut to Tommy's house at dinner time where Tommy and his brother compete in an...table etiquette themed game show? WTF! (Which, by the way, stands for "What the Frosty." in this context.")
Tumblr media
So yeah, just in case we haven't drove home the point that Mr. Tinkerton is a frickin' maniac, this scene is here to reiterate that this guy likes rules. Tommy's brother Charlie dominates the game and Mr. Tinkerton ends up giving him a number one pin for winning. While this scene is...dumb, it does sort of serve a point. Shocking, I know, but hear me out. This scene shows, in a kinda subtle way, that Mr. Tinkerton as a lot more in common with Charles than he does with Tommy, showing a bit of a parental favoritism. I wish the special dove more into this, but sadly it does not.  After dinner, Tommy is seen looking out the window and the hat appears to him one more time. This time Frosty shows off one of his many new superpowers. This version of Frosty can create an astral projection of himself, cause why the heck not, am I right? I mean if Elsa can use her ice powers to somehow make herself a dress in "Frozen" then I don't see why Frosty can't use his ice powers to make an astral projection of himself.  Tommy see's the astral snowman beckoning to him, but Tommy tells Frosty that he can't go outside because he's scared of getting in trouble and disappointing his father. This is very different from the most realistic response of "OH MY GOD! THAT FLYING HAT CREATED AN ASTRAL IMAGE OF A SNOWMAN OUTSIDE MY WINDOW! WHAT THE ACTUAL F#&K!" But I guess somethings never change with these specials. (I swear I think the traffic cop is the only one who ANY of the Frosty specials to actually react to Frosty!)
Tumblr media
 So the hats like "Ugh, whatever, screw this kid." and flies off to find a kid who's more willing to be a main character! So Frosty's hat flies over to Tommy's best friend Walter's house instead. We see a bit into Walter's home life. We see that Walter is a very nervous child with a very loud and demanding mother, who Walter is kind of afraid of. Walter see's Frosty's hat tap on his window and...wait, what the heck is wrong with that map behind Walter?
Tumblr media
(So is that weird land mass in the lower right hand corner suppose to be Australia? Or is this confirming that this special actual exist after some kind of nuclear Armageddon ravages the land and ends up reshaping the continents #CARTOONCONSPIRACY)  Anyway Walter opens the window and grabs on the hat, only for the hat to fly off with Walter holding on to the hat. Taking Walter flying over the city. Tommy see's this and opens the window asking where Walter is going. Walter response that he doesn't know. Tommy then proceeds to do nothing to help his friend and is nowhere to be seen for the rest of the scene. Man between Tommy and Holly I think there might just be a tradition of the main character of Frosty specials to be massive jerks to there friends.  So after Frosty kidnaps this child he then proceeds to bring him to the middle of the forest. #happyholidays. Walter admits that the flight across the city was fun a proceeds to put the hat on a snowman, thus reviving Frosty the Snowman, this time played by Bill Fagerbakke. In case you don't know Bill Fagerbakke is the voice actor of Patrick Star in "Spongebob Squarepants" and his voice really works for Frosty in this special (Though it can get a bit grating when he yells, though luckily that's not that big of a problem here because Frosty actually whispers a lot of his lines in this special.) As typical at this point Walter only seems slightly surprised to see a talking snowman. Though to be fair he did just fly across the city riding a hat, so by comparison I guess this isn't really that out of the ordinary.    So Frosty shows Walter about all the fun one can have in the snow when there not to concerned about rules and safety and the like. They have a snowball fight, the race down a hill, Frosty makes it snow (Showing off more of his reality warping Godlike powers.) And then Frosty walks Walter home. Walter talks about how he's scared to go inside, because he's scared of how his mother is going to react. Frosty ask why Walter would be scared of his own Mom, and asks if Walter's mom is some kind of hairy monster or something. Walter tells Frosty that his mom is just a normal lady and Frosty wonders why Walter would be scared of a normal lady. This gives Walter the bravery to go inside his house.  This is what I really like about this iteration of Frosty. He manages to combine both the dim witted nature of the original Rankin-Bass Frosty with the wisdom and insight of the "Frosty Returns" version of Frosty. He comes off as an idiot, but he actual ends up having some sage advice for the kids, weather on accident or on purpose. In fact, do you want to know what this version of Frosty the Snowman reminds me of? A better version of "Uncle Grandpa." Think about it for a second. He's a magical entity who shows up out of nowhere who only interacts with kids, and takes them on adventures where they learn about themselves while also acting kind of like an idiot. It's a pretty apt comparison! I remember at one point the creator of Uncle Grandpa said this during an interview with the website Cartoon Brew about the character of Uncle Grandpa.
Tumblr media
He talks about how at the end of the day you don't know if Uncle Grandpa is an idiot or if it's all really planned. The thing is though, is that when you watch "Uncle Grandpa" it's made pretty frickin' clear that he's an idiot. We see him when he's not with kids and he acts like an idiot there to. However, I feel like this version of Frosty fits this description better. It is kept vague. There is a bit of mystery around Frosty, and how much he knows. You really don't know if his advice comes from genuine wisdom, or ignorance or both, and that's what I really like about this version of him.  So Walter walks inside and when his mother asks him where he was, he just says that he was "out having fun." and walks off. This disobedience causes his mother to faint. The next day Walter goes to school and, because he stayed out after curfew, is considered "the bad boy." of the school and everybody takes noticed. Including Principal Pankley and Tommy's dad. And because Walter stayed up past curfew, Principal Pankley decides to give him detention, which is...way beyond his jurisdiction. A principal can't punish a student for something they did after school. Also why is Tommy's dad here? He's the mayor! While he may have some kind of ability to punish Walter for breaking curfew he has no power to punish him in the school. Evergreen seems to be pretty much a dictatorship where the mayor and the principal have the power to do whatever the heck they want.  During lunch Charlie ends up threatening Walter, warning him that if he keeps up this delinquency he'll be sorry. Unfortunately Charlie pounds the table, knocking Walter's food off it, and the food lands all over the principal and Charlie ends up getting detention too. Mr. Tinkerton ends up removing Charlies number one pin. Mr. Tinkerton and Principal Pankley ask Walter where he was the following night and Walter tells them that he was hanging out with a talking snowman. Mr. Tinkerton has a weird reaction to this, but Principal Pankley just says that that's nonsense.  While all of this is going on, Tommy tries to stalk er, I mean "follow" Sara into the forest so he can tell her how he feels about her. But unfortunately for Tommy, he chickens out yet again. We see that Sara is building a model city out of snow in the forest because she dreams of being an urban planner. But her mom does not want her to become an urban planner, because even urban development is to much fun for the people of this town. But then, for like the ten billionth time in this special so far, Tommy see's Frosty's hat. Only this time he actually decides to chase the hat down. The hat ends up flying into the local library. Tommy runs around trying to find the hat only to trip on a secret lose panel in the library, leading to some kind of secret passage way.  Okay, now here is when things get a bit confusing. Even though we just saw the hat fly into the library we immediately see a fully formed Frosty outside the school window. (Which by the way how is he fully formed. Who built him the body this time? Did the hat just fly all the way back to where he left his body before showing up?) Charlie and Walter see him and leave detention through BECAUSE THERE'S NO TEACHER WATCHING THEM! (like I know they locked the door, but they where still able to leave the room through some off screen other door I guess!) and they go outside to go see Frosty. They goof around and Charlie begins to warm up to Frosty.  Then we cut right back to Tommy, meaning either this special is telling events out of order or that the scene with Walter and Charlie took place in exactly zero seconds. He's still at the top of the stairs that he started descending in the last scene! He goes down the stares through the secret tunnel in the library where we see Frosty's hat again! This leaves only three options, either  A.) The scene with Walter and Charlie takes place after this scene, and the specials telling these events out of order. (Which the special gives no other hints of.)  B.) Frosty entered the library (in hat form.) Then left the library and met up with Charles and Walter (in snowman form) and then came back to the library (in hat form again.) all in the span of time it would take Tommy to walk down the steps. Which would be like a couple minutes at MOST!  Or C.) THERE ARE TWO FROSTY'S #CARTOONCONSPIRACYAGAIN!  Anyway Tommy ends up finding a comic book in this library. This comic book happens to be a comic book ABOUT Frosty the Snowman, telling of his origins! (D-Don't ask why. Just roll with it.) We learn of the story of a small little boy who is the son of a magician (a magician who you may recognize if you've seen the original Frosty the Snowman, though they change his name.) This kid grew up never believing in magic since, being the son of a magician, knew how all the tricks where done. This was until he ended up putting his father's hat onto a snowman, and the snowman came to life. But after his first meeting with the snowman was unable to find Frosty ever again, and assumed he made it up.  It's a cute re-imaging of the origin story all things considered. Though in some ways it does seems like a bit of a self insert fanfiction, replacing Karen with this new kid. But whatever, it's neat.  But then Mr. Tinkerton enters the library and the librarian informs him that his son is here. Tommy quickly runs out of the secret basement and meeting up with his father. Mr. Tinkerton tells Tommy that he needs to rely on Tommy to help him keep order, and tell him if any more mischief comes up. He also tells Tommy that all of his rules are there to make sure that people don't have any unrealistic expectations when it comes to things like magic. Mr. Tinkerton gives Tommy the number one pin and gives him a hug. It's a nice scene that puts Tommy in the situation where he has to pick between his father's acceptance and what is actually the right thing to do. (Also I think the voice acting really sells it. This special might not be that "good" but it does have some great voice talent.)  That following night we see Sara, working on her piano scales, which she does not seem to find much enjoyment in. She tells her mother this, but she does not seem to care. That, or course, is when Frosty shows up. Sara mentions that nobody seems to listen to her and Frosty says it might be because she's talking to loudly. Because to paraphrase Frosty "The quieter you talk, the more attention you have to pay just to hear what your saying." See, this is what I like about this version of Frosty. He has this air of wisdom to him. It's a good lesson, as the loudest people aren't necessarily the ones who you should be listening to.  Sara says she wants to learn how to ice skate and Frosty obliges. He demonstrates more of his Godlike powers my making THE FRICKIN' MOON SHINE ON THEM, MAKING IT THERE OWN PERSONAL SPOTLIGHT! (Why can Frosty control the moon? This goes way beyond the power of ice and snow. Also Frosty vs Elsa "Death Battle" please.)
Tumblr media
(Or maybe Frosty is just trying to activate his Oozaru Form.)    The next day at school it seems that all of Tommy's friends have turned against him because, now that he has Mayor Tinkertons number one pin, they believe him to be the enemy. Tommy mentions that Frosty's powers steam from his hat and walks off, unsure if he should chose his friends or his father to follow (even though his friends are kinda being jerks here, in all honesty.)  That night Tommy walks into his family room to see his mother scrap booking when he see's a photo of the boy from the comic book. It turns out that the boy from the comic book, the one who originally created Frosty was none other than...Tommy's father.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvcoly2i-3M
(Except, y'know, it was pretty dang obvious.)  The next morning Mr. Tinkerton goes outside to do his inspection and nobody is listening to him. The sun refuses to rise at 6 am (rising at 6:01 instead. Which I think is less a sign of disobedience and more just a sign of the season changing.) and nobody is following the rules. Even the adults, for some reason. Even though later we see that the adults are just as upset about the disobedience as Mr. Tinkerton is.
Tumblr media
(Here's something my older brother pointed out. This special is basically "Footloose with Frosty." It's Frostloose!)  Anyway this mild chaos makes Mr. Tinkerton spiral even further into his madness. Principal Pankley goes up to him and tells Mr. Tinkerton that he does not have what it takes to quell this rebellion, and so Principal Pankley decides to take matters into his own hands. Pankley ends up seeing Frosty while he was spying on the kids playing in the woods. (Which sounds a lot more eff'd up now that I right that sentence down.) and decides to take action. You see throughout the special Walter has been getting progressively more and more jealous of the other kids for stealing his time with Frosty, to the point to where he kinda becomes that clingy girlfriend type who always wants you to themselves. Principal Pankley see's this and tell's Walter that if he wants to have some time with Frosty all by himself he should go after dark when there less people around, and Principal Pankley agrees to chaperone the excursion since it's set after curfew. Walter ends up agreeing to the arrangement, even though this entire special has made it really clear that Principal Pankley is even more of a rule freak than Mr. Tinkerton is, and has made it pretty clear that he would never do something this nice to anybody ever.  Then, in case things weren't out there enough Principal Pankley decides to basically just, declare himself mayor of the town, in order to more efficiently take down the menace of Frosty the Snowman. Y'know I don't think a snowman running around is really worthy of bring out this kind of marshal law. And of course everybody in the town just kinda rolls with it, because why wouldn't they.
Tumblr media
That night Tommy is reading the comic book, trying to looks for some kind of a solution when suddenly some more pages of the story are magically reveled to him. The books shows that the reason that Frosty never returned to Mr. Tinkerton as a kid was because another, jealous child had found the hat and locked it up. And that kid happened to be Principal Pankley! And the comic also reveled that Walter was at the lake with Principal Pankley right now. Thanks magic comic book for waiting this long give give Tommy the answers he needed. If you just had all your pages from the start maybe we could of avoided this, but no, you had to wait till the very last minute give us all the information we needed, because you wanted to be dramatic! Also how come Frosty waited this long to leave the trunk that Principal Pankley locked him up in? I mean he just kinda broke out of the box at the beginning of the special. It's not like anyone let him out. Why did it take twenty years to escape?  But whatever. We see that Walter is out in the middle of the woods...at night..with Principal Pankely...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgJYTeBynqA
And Walter is skating with Frosty. (Principal Pankley is hiding behind a tree so Frosty doesn't see him.) But while there skating the thin ice breaks and Frosty ends up falling into the water. What would of happened if the ice didn't break? This plan isn't very thought out at all. After Frosty melts Principal Pankley grabs the hat and leaves laughing.  Later all the kids have noticed that Frosty stopped showing up, and everybody assumes that it was Tommy who got rid of him. The think this on the ground that Tommy never spent any time with him, he has Mr. Tinkerton's number one pin, and he would have the knowledge on how to destroy him because he mentioned knowing his origin earlier. Principal Pankley begins to revel in his new found power. But Tommy decides that he has stop being scared and do whats right and save Frosty! He get's Walter to confess to his accidental role in Frosty's destruction and the hatch a plan to bring him back. He shows the comic to all the other kids and gets back to there good graces and then they storm to school to retrieve Frosty's hat. (Which is just in a frickin' glass case in the middle of the school where everyone can see it. Cause that'll stop the hat that broke out of like six chained up trunks.)  Principal Pankley chases the kids back to the frozen pond where they engage in a snow themed chase and snowball fight that is way less epic then the specials says it is. Everyone in town hears the commotion (because the glass case had an alarm.) and goes to the pond as well. The kids rebuild Frosty the F#&k Boi and all the adults see Frosty for themselves, including Mr. Tinkerton. He and Frosty reconnects and Tommy gives the pin back to his father. Frosty ends up hitting Walter's mother and an entire snowball fight with all the kids and adults break out as all the adults learn the error of there ways. As for Principal Pankley...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Okay that doesn't happen, but let me have my version dang it!)  And the special reveals the shock twist. That Tommy ends up growing up to become...Burt Reynolds! Er, I mean the narrator. The narrator is a grown up Tommy. I like the twist, making the narrator have more of a point then just being some random guest star. Though it is a bit weird that the narrator isn't some kind of horrid uncanny valley version of Bruce Willis. It just feels like it's breaking Frosty tradition. Oh, and we learn that Tommy ended up marring Sara, and I definitely...don't care.  Oh and what happens to Frosty? Um...In don't know. They never really say what happens to him once the winter ends. Also they never really say what happens to Principal Pankley. I guess he's still the principal? And will continue to make life for the student miserable at school? I dunno, who cares? The special is over now.  So that was "The Legend of Frosty the Snowman." is it any good? Well, probably not, but it has some good parts. The voice cast is pretty good, including Burt Reynolds, who has a really good voice that adds a lot of gravitas to the narrator. (Also Bert Reybnolds sings, which is probably something that you won't here in Dukes of Hazard.) The animation is okay, kinda generic looking but they kinda make up for it by having a lot of nice colors, with lots of blues and whites. Also I really like this version of Frosty. I don't know if I like him more or less than the "Frosty Returns" version of him (as Bill Fagerbakke loud and oafish sounding voice he gives Frosty can get a bit grating at times, like I said previously, but It's prety good for like 90-95 percent of the film) I still think the voice is a perfect fit for what there doing with this version of Frosty, there are just a couple of times where it sounds a bit to much like Patrick Star yelling. (By the way, I like how this special has Bill Fagerbakke still being friends with Tom Kenny.) I love the idea of Frosty being this world traveler and I think this special does a good job combing elements from both the original and the "Frosty Returns" incarnation. It's a good reboot even if it's not the best story.  Unfortunately the film has a lot of problems to. Most of the kids are fairly generic. Charlie and Walter are kinda interesting but Sara and Tommy are both rather bland. Tommy has a good conflict in the story, and a good arc, but outside of that he's just a generic kid. And there love story felt very tacked on, like I think they only speak to each other a couple of times in the whole movie and they don't have any chemistry. We don't get a reason on why Tommy likes her other than "cause I'm the main character and she's the token girls so I guess we're suppose to be together! Also the story is pretty dumb and full of plot holes. They go to cartoonish lengths to show how uptight the adults are but it doesn't come off as funny. It's just another 'fight the establishment." story that we've seen many times before. Also Principal Pankley, while having some goofy and amusing moments is nowhere near as fun of a villain as Mr. Hinkle or Mr. Twitchell. Also this special is sixty six minutes long and it can be a bit of a drag by the end. They probably could of cut it down to forty four if they cut out some of the more filler-y scenes.  So do I recommend this special? Well, it depends on who you are. I think you can tell by reading this review if it's something that would be up your alley or not. It's dumb, cheesy and kind of bland but there are some creative elements in it that might warrant you checking it out. It available on Netflix and on DVD if you are interested.  So I hoped you liked my review. It's a bit longer than I was expecting but what are you going to do? Have you seen "The Legend of Frosty the Snowman?" and if you did what do you think of it. Tell me in the comments. I think discussion is a great way to never fall into a echo chamber so I'd love to start a discussion. Where does it rank with the other Frosty special? And what are some of your favorite Christmas specials that not that many people talk about? Do you have any ideas for things for me to review in the future? Leave all of that or any other thoughts in the comments down bellow and feel free to fav and follow if you liked the review. As you can hopefully see I put a lot of thought and time into so I would be very appreciative. I'll be back next Friday for the finale of "Deviant-cember." with the "2016 year in REVIEW!" Hopefully see you guys then and have a great holiday. (I do not own any of the images or videos in this review all credit goes to there original owners.)

Snatch Game (Biadore oneshot)
First of all sorry this isn't under a "read more" because I'm posting it on my phone. When I get a chance to I will change that. Also sorry I haven't updated I Really Like It. I've kinda lost faith in where it was going and need some more time. In the meantime enjoy this xo
It was the moment they'd all been waiting for. They'd made it to Snatch Game. This was what separated the front runners from the losers. As Bianca was getting into her Judge Judy drag, she felt confident, despite the pressure of Rupaul loving Judy. However, comedy was what Bianca knew best and she'd certainly done her research. She glanced over at Adore's Station to see her in her blonde bombshell Anna Nicole wig. She couldn't help but move her eyes up and down Adore's body. It was pretty obvious that there was tension between the two of them but they were both too scared of getting caught trying anything together. So instead they attempted to keep their distance before it all blew up.
Adore stood behind Bianca as they were being led into the Snatch Game studio and couldn't help but watch her every move. Even as a caricature of Judge Judy, Adore couldn't deny how gorgeous she looked. There were so many things she wanted to do to her but knew she couldn't. Bianca turned around briefly and made eye contact which made Adore look away promptly, blushing under her makeup from the embarrassment. When they got in, Adore was the last in so sat next to Bianca as all the others were taken. She looked to the queen next to her and smiled softly. Bianca returned it before it was their cue to get into character.
Soon after, Ru entered and introduced all of the queens as their characters. Bianca and Adore both introduced themselves before they moved on to the others. "Are you avoiding me?" Adore whispered under her breath to not get anyone else's attention. Bianca simply answered by shaking her head gently, still facing the cameras to look like she was in character. "Don't lie to me. You told me you were attracted to me and haven't spoken to me since. Were you lying then?" Adore was still whispering but Bianca was getting noticeably irritated by the younger queen. "Roy, please," Adore had never called Bianca by her boy name before. She loved the way it sounded coming from her mouth.
"Cher is so addicted to social media, even her blank has a Twitter account!" Ru said into the microphone and all of the Queens wrote down their answers. After putting her pen down, Bianca simply rested her hand on Adore's thigh, which made her jump slightly. It was only a gentle touch but Adore felt like she was on fire. Slowly, Bianca's hand moved up Adore's thigh until her hand was dangerously close.
"Is this enough of an answer for you?" Bianca whispered to Adore, smirking at her. Before Adore could reply, Bianca's hand had moved again to write the answer for the next question. Adore was just staring at how calm and collected she was, despite just having her hand a few inches away from Adore's cock. Soon enough her hand was back, only this time higher, so high she could feel Adore's untucked dick twitching. "Good queen's tuck." Bianca tutted, which made Adore giggle.
"Joke's on you, there's a desk covering my crotch so why would I tuck?"
"It's almost like you planned this." Instead of replying, Adore just winked at Bianca, but her cockiness disappeared when Bianca's hand was palming her, now semi hard cock. Rubbing through her panties so slightly, it felt almost like he wasn't being touched at all. Adore tried so hard to keep her composure but that was proving difficult with Bianca now basically jerking her off through her underwear. The Snatch game seemed to go on forever, and all without anything close to any kind of closure for either of the two queens. That was until they'd just finished de-dragging in the work room. As Roy passed by Danny on his way out he whispered directly in Danny's ear, "meet me in my hotel room." Danny was elated to finally find out what was really going on.
Danny all but ran up to Roy's room when he got to the hotel. He was trying to not be seen by anyone in case of being caught fraternising outside of the studio. He knocked distinctly and heard a rustling on the other side of the door before it swung open, showing a tired looking Roy on the other side. Without saying a word, he stepped aside for Danny to enter, looking out the door down the hallway before closing it. Danny made himself comfy sitting on Roy's bed before finally asking, "so, what's up?"
"Well," Roy started. "I guess I kinda like you. But I mean, we can't do anything about it obviously." Danny stood up to halt Roy who was pacing back and forth.
"Why not?"
"Well first of all I'm fifteen years older than you, it's kinda weird." Roy finally stopped pacing and looked Danny in the eyes. "You're a great friend but we can't be any more than that. It'd be too creepy. Not to mention we're in competition." Danny was silent whilst he thought about his response.
"I guess. Come find me when you finally want the hot 24 year old who's throwing themselves at you." Danny smiled, glancing between Roy's eyes and lips. All he wanted was to kiss him and touch him all over but he wasn't about to make the first move after what Roy just said. He was just about to turn around to leave when he heard Roy mutter, "for fucks sake," before pulling on Danny's wrist and smashing his lips into the younger man's. It was like nothing either of them could have imagined. There was so much heat and passion behind it purely due to the long wait and all of the built up tension behind it. Roy had a vice-like grip on Danny's jaw, knowing how badly he's wanted this. Danny had his grip on Roy's ass, which was firmer than he expected. After making out like that for a few minutes Roy eventually moved his hands down to Danny's waist and guided him towards the bed, where they both laid, with Roy straddling Danny.
Roy moved his hips rhythmically, feeling Danny grow hard all over again. Knowing the effect he was having on the younger man only encouraged Roy. It was far too late for him to care about anything other than the beautiful younger man laying beneath him. Roy hastily removed Danny's shirt and his own in order to feel more skin to kin contact. Even though he'd seen Danny shirtless before, this was the first time he was able to truly appreciate it. His slender frame, small nipples, freckles dotted over his shoulder. He must have been admiring for too long as Danny whined "please do something."
Roy couldn't not comply to Danny's wishes, as he moved to unbuckle his belt and pull down his jeans, noticing how hard the younger man was through the thin material of his boxers. Roy was almost drooling at the sight and couldn't resist for long, pulling Danny's cock out of his boxers and almost immediately taking the head into his mouth. Danny gasped and threw his head back, finally getting the contact he'd longed for for so long. Roy was bobbing his head up and down, licking and sucking whilst occasionally looking up at Danny to see him panting with a sheen of sweat on his chest, his mouth open slightly and his beautiful lips shining. It was a view that alone could make Roy hard himself. "Fuck Roy, in gonna-" Danny moaned and before he could finish his sentence, Roy had moved from sucking him. He moved up Danny's body and kissed him again. "I want you to fuck me," Roy requested, much to Danny's surprise. He wasn't going to say no however and moved around so that he was on top of Roy and between his legs. Roy rummaged in his bag and handed Danny some lube and a condom. Danny gave him a quizzical look and Roy simply replied "always be prepared." Danny giggled and rubbed the lube on his index and middle fingers before rubbing the former around Roy's hole. Roy pushed down, forcing Danny's finger inside and basically fucking it himself. This was a side of Roy Danny had never expected to see. He looked almost vulnerable. After moving his finger in and out of Roy, he added the second one, fingering him and separating them slightly in order to stretch Roy out. Danny was just preparing to insult a third finger when Roy said, "that's enough," clearly telling Danny he wanted him to just fuck him. Danny obliged, pulling out his fingers and sliding on the condom, coating it in lube. He flipped Roy onto all fours before slowly sliding his length inside him. It was an amazing feeling, one which Danny hadn't felt in a while. Once he was all the way in, Danny stopped, waiting for Roy to tell him he was okay to continue. Instead of doing this, Roy simply moved himself back and forth, basically riding him, which made Danny lose control. They were both a mess of grunts and moans as Danny was holding on to Roy's hips, mostly to keep himself upright. He was so close to climax and he knew it wasn't fair to either of them. Knowing this, Danny reached around to grab Roy's length and start jerking him off. Roy was overwhelmed with Danny hitting his prostate and jerking his cock in sync. He was about to warn Danny that he was close but by then it was too late. Roy came all over the mattress, his clenching in the process sending Danny over the edge into the condom. They both collapsed, sweaty, panting messes.
Once he had his breath back, Danny removed the condom, throwing it in the trash can and moving back over to Roy, laying on his chest. After a few moments of silence, he moved up to kiss him and whispered on his lips. "Knew you wanted me."

Five times peter and Stiles pretended to be in a relationship and the one time they were
This is for @greenmornings I hope you enjoys and I am sorry it is a WIP. Warning there is some mention of what happened between Derek and Kate.
Part 1- The beginning
Stiles was beginning to get sick of the man in front of him. Danny had dragged him to the Jungle after Stiles had finally admitted to the other man that he is bisexual. Danny looked at him, shook his head then said, “You are attractive to gay guys, but you are not my type”, Styles could both understand and respect that point. Something Stiles wished the guy blocking him against the bar.
“come on baby boy I can show you a good time.” The man in front of him was blond and skinny, with far too much alcohol on his breath, he was unfortunately made stronger by the alcohol and Stiles didn’t want to start a fight and show his dad up. Scanning the crowd Stiles desperately looked-for Danny hoping that the other guy could help him out of the situation. Unfortunately, Danny was nowhere to be seen and Stiles had a feeling the confrontation would end with him being thrown out.
“Look man, I have told you a dozen times already, I have a boyfriend and even if I didn’t I’m not interested.” Stiles tried one more time.
“Yeah right, where is he then, if you were mine I’d never let you out of my sight” he slurred before grabbing Stiles arm.
Just as fast as the hand grabbed him it was gone and a howl of pain came from Mr grab hands, looking behind the fool, Stiles could not help but smirk.
Peter Hale stood behind the guy, snarl on his face eyes flashing ever so slightly blue.
“When my partner tells you to leave him alone, you leave him alone.” Peter growled in the other mans face. The idiot was obviously much drunker than Stiles originally thought, because even though Peter had shown his strength the guy just wouldn’t give in.
“Yeah right, as if he would date someone old as you. Fuck off man can’t you see I’m about to seal the deal with him” he bragged before trying to pull his arm out of Peters grip. Before Peter did something he regretted Stiles darted around the other man to peter, taking a grip of Peters shirt Stiles pulled him down and into a passionate kiss. Peter soon let the other man go, so he could wrap both arms around Stiles. They were drawn apart by the shouting of the man behind them.
“… Freak, you must be old enough to be his father. What the hell is wrong with you. Don’t worry baby boy I will save you from this pervert.” He said before moving forward to attack Peter before being intercepted by Danny.
“Ryan dude what the hell. I saw the whole thing and the only one being creepy is you. Take a walk man.” Danny said before handing Ryan off to a couple of bouncers who he had called over. Stiles peeked around Peter -who had pushed Stiles behind him when Ryan started screaming- before walking forward to stand beside the older man. Peter put his arm around Stiles shoulder in a show of protectiveness.
Danny turned back to them and smiled at their position, Stiles arm having snaked around Peters waist.
“Sorry man, If I’d known he was in tonight I never would have left you on your, Ryan has always been a dick that hasn’t known that no means no. Looks like you don’t need me though you have your own knight in shining armour.” Danny gave peter a slow and obvious once over. Before winking at Stiles.
“I approve” He said before walking off into the throng of people.
Stiles groaned and buried his head Peters shoulder.
“What’s wrong” Peter asked eyes scanning over Stiles for an injury he had missed.
“Danny is the biggest gossip in school because everyone likes him, and everyone talks to him. So, by Monday everyone will think your dating me.” Stiles answered then stumbled as peter pulled away.
“So sorry that everyone will think your dating an old man.” Peter huffed before turning to walk away.
“Dude no, I didn’t mean that. It just that everyone is going to know you are dating the town screw up. Also dude your not that old your only 32 and I was held back a year in first grade because of my ADHD so I’m 18. Legal age dude.” Stiles said only to have his face gently taken in Peters hands.
“You are not a screw up; every single member of that pack would be dead already if it wasn’t for you. I will be proud to have my name along side yours.” Peter said sincerity ringing in every word.
“You know your going to have to put up with my dad right.” Stiles said a smile stretched over his face.
“And we will both have to put up with Malia who will be unbearable as she saw you first. But on the bright side imagine Derek’s face.” Peter smirked while Stiles burst out laughing.
“Fake boyfriend?” Stiles asked with a smile.
“Fake Boyfriends” Peter agreed mirroring his smile.
Part 2- Malia
Peter and Stiles had been texting during the weekend to work out the kinks of their fake relationship, such as how they started dating (Peter helping Stiles with his Emissary training, creating a friendship that turned into more.) Did they have pet names for each other (Wilk for Peter and Hud for Stiles.) How long have they been dating (Three months, four months after he broke up with Malia.) As well as other such questions that could come up.
However, despite that Stiles couldn’t help but be worried about the reactions especially Malia who he had dated. Unfortunately she was completely unable to keep a secret so they couldn’t tell her about the deception.  So, with a sigh Stiles hitched his backpack further up onto his shoulder and braced himself before walking into school.
He had barely been in school five minutes when a snarling Malia grabbed his arm and yanked him ruffle into the boys changing room. Before Stiles could get a word out he was flung against the lockers and pinned there by a pissed off snarling woman.
“What kind of game are you playing.” Malia snarled eyes electric blue.
“Playing what game, I don’t know what you mean, there’s no game…” Stiles rambled only to be shoved up against the lockers harder. “Squishy human… need to breath” Stiles panted, which caused Malia to finally releases her grip slightly.
“My dad, what the hell are you doing with my dad” she asked. Stiles realised in that moment that Malia was worried that he was using her dad.
“Dating him” Stiles answered only to get a scoff in return “No seriously, he started helping me with my emissary training, because of the number of magical books he has. Then we started going to dinner outside of beacon and then it sort of snow balled from there. I’m sorry we didn’t tell you.” Stiles explained prompting Malia to let go of him. As she stepped away her body language changing from hostile to fragile.
“Was that the reason you dated me, because you thought you couldn’t have him.” She asked, shoulders slumped and her head down. Stiles rushed forward and quickly pulled her into his arms.
“No, never. When we met I didn’t even know you where a Hale, I hadn’t even thought of him like that before we started hanging out… well I mean I had but only because he looks like that, I mean who wouldn’t have a few fantasies… well obviously you wouldn’t because you’re his daughter. But other than you… and Scott… and Derek… you know what maybe it was just me.” By this point in his rambling Malia was hanging on to him to keep standing because of how hard she was laughing, Stiles smiled mission accomplished.
“Okay, at least I know he has taste.” She told him broad smile on her face.
“That he does” Stiles replied holding out his arm for her to take, which she did. Swinging her hair over her shoulder they walked out of the locker room and walked down the hall, everyone parting in their wake.
“Want to go to the mall tonight and make my dad buy us stuff, we don’t actually need” Malia asked before they walked into homeroom smirk firmly on her face.
“Oh yeah.” Stiles answered with a smirk of his own.
Part 3- Derek
Stiles and Malia dragged Peter to the mall after school, he followed behind them carrying bags with a resigned air of someone who had grown up around shopaholics. Despite his continued grumbling he was brilliant at knowing long lasting fashion trends and what colours would look best on his two younger companions. Which is how he was sitting in a dressing room waiting for his daughter and Stiles to model their latest picks.
Malia came out first modelling a white strapless shirt, short black leather skirt with a top to bottom and four-inch sliver stiletto shoes. She managed to seamlessly pull off sexy, badass and touch me and die with that one look.
“Wow, you are getting that right” Peter asked.
“Totally, I’m kinda surprised that you aren’t shouting about keeping myself covered up” Malia admitted.
“Why would I, your body is just that yours. Plus, if anyone gets to close I know you can make sure they don’t touch if you don’t want them to.” Peter told her, he would never understand people who tried to control what their partner and/or children wore. Before he could say anymore Stiles came out.
Stiles looked slightly uncomfortable for half a second before squaring his shoulders and coming to stand beside Malia. A green wife beater brought out the green in his hazel eyes, and drew attention to his muscles built from fighting the supernatural baddy of the week. Skin tight black leather trousers drew attention to his very long legs and the look was finished off with paint splattered sneakers adding a pop of colour to the outfit.
Looking at him Peters pupils became wide; his eyes flashed blue and he gave off enough pheromones to have Malia wrinkling he nose. Standing Peter stalked forward and took Stiles around the waist.
“You look edible.” Peter growled his eyes flashing blue, which caused Stiles heart rate to kick up a notch whether from fear or excitement he wasn’t sure. Before he had time to analyse that, lips were on his and he was being kissed passionately, in a way that stole the air from his lungs and left him craving more.
Malia made a noise somewhere between a coo and a snort of disgust. Turning she was about to walk back into the dressing room when a snarl came from behind her which did not belong to her father because it raised the hairs on her neck. She turned around just in time to see her father go flying into the partition for the dressing rooms, causing the whole lot to fall like dominos. Wincing both for her father and the fact that the store was going to call the cops, Malia groaned when she saw Derek Hale about to lay into her father.
“What the fuck dude you can’t just assault someone like that, especially not Peter.” Stiles cried putting himself between Derek and Peter unwilling to let any harm come to Peter who was staggering to his feet.
“Move” Derek growled fully shifted into his beta form. Malia quickly crossed the space in front of her and went to stand with Stiles in a protective position.
“Not until you calm down and explain what the hell you think your doing.” Stiles Snarled back doing a damn fine impression of a werewolf himself.
“The better question is what the hell is Peter doing. It make you feel like a big man to kiss stiles in front of your daughter who is dating him. Does it make you feel strong to force yourself on someone under age?” Derek screamed while trying to get around Stiles and Malia to Peter. Stiles didn’t know whether to laugh because of how wrong all of that was, or cry because of how much Derek’s previous trauma obviously still hurt him.
“Derek Stiles and I broke up like seventh months ago, we both agreed we were only together because we saw each other as a safe option.” Malia answered causing Derek to stop fighting against them both so hard.
“Derek dude I’m almost 19, I was held back in first grade because my ADHD had me miss so much school, Scott and everyone else is a year younger than me.” Stiles explained making sure to keep his voice calm and even.
The blood seemed to drain out of his face as he shifted back at this revelation. Peter pushed past the two people in front of him before taking his nephew by the shoulders.
“I am so sorry for what happened to you if I could go back and kill that bitch more slowly I would, but I can’t. I promise you Derek I will never be with anyone that doesn’t want me, I would never betray Malia by stealing her boyfriend. Derek I’m sorry we should have told you.” Peter said maintaining eye contact with the other man. Derek nodded before gripping his uncle’s wrists and pressing their foreheads together.
At that moment there was a yell of
“Stiles! Ah crap kid what did you do this time.” The sheriff sighed surveying the wreckage. “Do I even want to know kid, or do I just charge you all with public disturbance” Noah asked pinching the bridge of his nose.
“That was my fault sir I misunderstood the nature of Stiles relationship with Peter. I will pay for the damages to the shop.” Derek said. Which caused Noah to look sharply at Stiles who seemed to shrink.
“What relationship would that be Stiles?” John asked looking between his son and Peter who had come over to stand next to Stiles.
After taking a deep breath Stiles answered, “Peter and I have been dating for the last three months.”
“You have to be shitting me kid, seriously? Fine you know what fine. Peter, you better be over for family dinner tomorrow. Derek, you can work out repayment with the owners. I am going to get a burger and fries. Stiles get changed your coming with me.” With that the Sheriff walked out of the shop.
“I’m so screwed” Stiles muttered.

Liveblogging The Shining
Tony is definitely not just an imaginary friend, so creepy
As they are given the grand tour of the hotel, all I can think of is “These are probably all places we will revisit when they are being hunted down”
“This place is actually built on an Indian burial ground” Nothing good could ever come from doing that, smh
This overly cheery guy somehow knows the nickname for the kid when he has never met him before, nor have they said it in front of him before... SUSPICIOUS
Confirmed, this guy is really bad news
Oh shit, TITLE DROP
“is there something bad here?” Little boy asking the real questions
there is definitely something in room 237
I am so stressed for this kid, riding in circles around this empty hotel by himself
“I’ve never been this happy or comfortable anywhere” hes says monotonously. Veeeery convincing...
“When we first came up here, I thought it was kinda scary” AND YOU WERE RIGHT TO, WOMAN!
Oh hell no, they went into the hedge maze
Phew, nothing bad came of it... for now
Kid, don’t you dare open the door to room 237
The dad is beginning to lose it
Oh dear lord, he’s definitely messed up
The snow storm is blocking them from calling the outside world, meaning that they won’t be able to get help when shit goes down. Oh phew, at least she can communicate with the radio, not that it would help them too much
Oh geeze, its the creepy little girls
Honey, I wouldn’t trust your little boy to be in the same room as his dad, something is very wrong with him right now
He’s lying to you kid
Ball rolls down the hall, no one at the end of it, guess I should just WALK DOWN THE HALL!
OH hell no, room 237 is open
Jack is being oppressed by some kind of spirit probably, probably the guy that killed his family there a long while back
This poor mom has to deal with all the guys of the family going through messed up stuff
The screeching soundtrack is so unsettling, gosh
Oh fuck no, he is gonna get drunk
And now he’s kissing some lady who was in a tub, who is definitely a ghost or something.
Ew, she is decomposing
That man is one big crazy liar
Now he’s just throwing a tantrum!
So he absolutely sees nothing wrong with the fact that even though there is supposed to only be 3 of them in the entire hotel, and that they are snowed in so there couldn’t possibly be anyone coming to the hotel, let alone hundreds of people. So why doesn’t he see anything wrong with all the things he is seeing?
Well now he realizes that something is off
I think ‘corrected’ is really understating what he did
So Tony is in control now. The question is, is Tony a bad thing or a good thing in this situation?
Uh oh, Jack disabled the radio
I thought he was a little creepy at first, but Dick is trying his best to help
“I’ll be back in just five minutes, and I’m gonna lock the door behind me” Oh no, this can’t be good
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” so is this where that came from?
Something’s gonna come up from behind her!
Oh man, Danny can hear everything they say
It’s getting tense now
Oh wow, now it is straight up threats of murder
GOOD GOING GIRL!
This poor woman, she’s going through so much
Damn, he sabotaged everything!
Hell yeah she is stronger than you thought she was
Oh wow, the ghost can let him out
I fear that Dick won’t reach the hotel in time, or he may even die on the way there
Ok, what the heck does Redrum mean?
What is Tony gonna do with that knife?
Oooooh now I understand, it’s Murder backwards!
Get out of there Danny!
“Here’s Johnny!”
Don’t give up fighting woman!
Really worried about Dick, but thank God he is there now
Oh no, he’s giving himself away because he just had to call out!
Welp, so much for that. They are so dead.
He’s gonna go into the maze, isn’t he... not that it’ll help since he can see your tracks in the snow!
If she survives, which I don’t think she will, she will be so traumatized, poor girl
Covering up and retracing his steps, smart kid
But seriously, what is with the elevator blood thing? When did that elevator ever have that much blood?
Smart kid, got Jack all disoriented and exhausted
GET IN THE SNOW MOBILE AND GET OUT OF THERE!
And now he’s gonna freeze to death in the maze, serves him right.
So, he’s in a photo that he has no business being in cause he probably wasn’t alive back then.

Doppelgänger (7/?)
{Public Enemies, Part 2}
“Okay, listen up!” Dash’s voice said and Danny followed it to a science lab. He peeked inside to see a bunch of students and school faculty watching as Dash continued, “Is everybody clear with the plan?”
“Yes, yes, it should all go down tomorrow after the town meeting,” Paulina said.
“Meeting?” Danny transformed then stepped in. “What town meeting?”
The group all turned to him with frowns.
Suddenly the door slammed behind him and he turned to see Kwan glaring at him.
“I’ve seen this one hanging around the girl. They’re dating.”
“Girl? Dating?”
Dash grabbed him, then Dash was falling to the ground and a white ghost was holding him.
“Walker!” Danny said without thinking.
“Oh, you know me?” the warden asked, leaning closer with a smirk. “You might just be the most useful one yet.”
“Useful?” Danny looked over the ghost’s shoulder and blanched as he saw the horde smirking at him with glowing eyes. “Oh no, you do not want to overshadow me, trust me. The last guy who did that did not enjoy it anywhere near as much as he thought he would.”
“We’ll see about that,” Walker said and dove into him before he could react.
A presence, pushing, pressing, trying to force him out. Out. OUT! GET OUT!
Danny snapped back into reality to find himself kneeling on the ground. He looked up and was relieved to see it was Walker sitting in front of him instead of himself. “Ha! Poindexter is better at possession than you!”
“How?” the warden growled, looking up.
“Dude, my family’s been ghost hunters for centuries. You think we haven’t built up an immunity to possession?” he lied.
Although, he supposed it might not be a lie. They didn’t know for sure why possession didn’t work right on Danny since neither Sam nor Tucker had been overshadowed before. His dad had managed to throw off Vlad for a short time though so maybe there was something in the Fenton genes.
Oh well, something to consider another time. “Now if you’ll excuse me…”
Danny ducked under Kwan’s grab and rushed out the door. He heard the overshadowed people take chase and let a little ghost strength and speed slip through. He glanced over his shoulder and grabbed a pistol out of the fold when he was sure no one was looking. Kwan had said girl, so they thought Sam was Doppelgänger. The longer they thought that, the longer the trio could use it to their advantage.
Danny hissed as something slammed him into the lockers.
Though, if it came down to giving up the ghost or dying, Danny’d transform.
He shot Lancer with the gun, knocking him out the window. He flinched as he took off running again, hoping his teacher couldn’t feel that.
“Gotta get away long enough to disappear.”
Ishiyama and Paulina dropped down in front of him and he fired on instinct. Paulina dodged, but the principal went flying.
“You can't get away from me!” the popular girl growled and Danny was hit by both her fist and the irony.
“Wow. I waited all of puberty for a girl to say that to me and now it's a complete bummer,” he groaned, rolling away from her grab and rubbing his jaw.
She snarled and made another grab, only for a blast of pink to throw her back.
Suddenly a hand was pulling Danny to his feet and dragging him down the hall. “Let’s go, before more of them come.”
Danny’s eyes widened as he realized Valerie had just come to his rescue. Where was this helpful attitude when you were trying to blow me out of the sky last week?
“Watch out!” Danny jerked them to a stop just in time to miss a grab from his history teacher, who flew past them and out a window as a result.
“Thanks,” she said.
“Thank you. I don’t think I would have lasted this long on my own,” he shot back as they both fired on the science teacher. “Nice gear, looks familiar,” he added as he saw the gun she was holding.
It was exactly the same as his, but with pink detailing.
“Nice aim. I didn’t think you were into this stuff,” she said as they ran down the stairs.
Danny shrugged and ducked a grab from Dash. “I’m not obsessed like my parents, but you can’t exactly live with them without knowing at least a little about how to fight a ghost.”
The two made it out of the school and Valerie summoned her board. “Get on. I can take you to your house.”
“Thanks, Valerie.” He climbed on and knelt down so he could watch their back.
The board jolted. “What? Who’s Valerie.”
Oops. “I-I just meant…” He glanced up and sighed. “You do realize you don’t change your voice at all in the suit, right?”
She cursed and dove around a cheerleader Danny didn’t recognize.
“It’s fine, I won’t tell anyone. I mean, Sam and Tucker already know, but they won’t tell anyone either. Promise.”
“Thanks.”
“You wouldn’t mind telling me where you got all this stuff, would you? Some of it looks like Fenton tech,” Danny said, shooting Dash out of the sky.
“It’s not stolen.”
“Didn’t say it was. My parents do sell their stuff. I just didn’t think anyone in town bought it before today.”
“I have a benefactor. They’re worried about the ghosts.”
“I mean entirely no offense given the circumstances, but they thought a teenager was the person for the job?”
“I didn’t ask, for obvious reasons.”
“That’s fair.”
“What were you doing in the school anyways? I thought everyone had evacuated.”
“I did too. That’s why I thought it was safe to go grab something I’d forgotten in my locker.”
“Clearly you were wrong.”
“Clearly,” Danny snorted and used a lull in attacks to pull out his phone. He texted Jazz, telling her to turn on the ghost shield. “The ghosts were using the school as a gathering point. Apparently they’re planning to do something at a town meeting tomorrow. I overheard them plotting, hence the trying to kill me thing.”
“Noted. I bet that ghost kid is part of this.”
“You mean Doppelgänger?”
“Doppelgänger?”
“White hair, green skin, androgynous?”
“Yeah.”
“Yeah, that’s Doppelgänger. They’re the one the ghosts are after. Not sure how they think trashing the town and overshadowing half the school is supposed to help.”
“Why are they looking for him?”
“Them. Androgynous, remember.” The trio had decided to just use gender-neutral pronouns for all their sakes. “And no clue.”
Valerie turned a corner, then slowed down at the sight of the shield.
“It’s fine, it will only stop ghosts.”
She nodded and flew through.
Once they landed, Danny turned to her with a smile. “Thanks again.”
He couldn’t see her face through the mask, but he could hear a smile in her voice. “No problem. Try to be more careful.”
“You too. And hey, if you need any help with your gear, just ask. I know my way around quite a bit of it thanks to my parents.” It’d also give him and his partners an idea of her arsenal.
“I might take you up on that. You’re… not so bad, Fenton.”
He smirked. “You’re not so bad yourself, Gray.”
She shook her head with a laugh. “You could use some work on your form. If-if you want, we can train together sometime. I have a black belt, so I could teach you a few things. I mean, unless you think your girlfriend would object. I don’t want to cause trouble.”
Danny groaned. “Sam and I are queerplatonic. Same with Tucker. No romance involved.”
“Oh, cool.”
Danny blinked. Did she sound… happier?
“So, training?”
“Uh, sure.” It would make Jazz stop bugging him about spending more time away from his partners. And he’d get to see what Valerie was capable of while learning new fighting techniques. “I mean, yeah, that sounds great. Thanks, Valerie.”
They swapped phone numbers and agreed to meet up Sunday afternoon as long as the ghosts didn’t cause a problem.
“Why did you want the ghost shield on?” Jazz asked when he came in.
“Ghosts were chasing me.”
“You okay?” Jazz said, looking him over.
“Fine. I need to call Sam and Tucker.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Ghost kid!”
The trio froze and turned as Valerie flew towards them. Sam and Tucker got into defensive positions, but Danny tugged them back. “What do you want? You here to blame us too?”
“For once, no. I know the mayor’s overshadowed. I ran into a pack of overshadowed people last night saving someone so I was looking for the signs. I also found out they’re here for you. So spill. What’d you do to tick them all off?”
Danny scrunched down slightly as his partners went through his memories of the night before. He hadn’t actually told them about his meetup with Valerie.
We’re talking about this later. “Their leader, Walker, runs a jail in the Ghost Zone.”
“Are you a fugitive?” Her hand twitched towards her gun.
“Only because anything and everything is illegal in Walker’s book. The zone’s laws only apply lair to lair from what we’ve been told. Walker just likes to enforce his own laws on the entirety of the zone because all he cares about is locking people up. He’s a menace. We were locked up for duplicating. That’s pretty much our thing! And we were in someone’s private lair. He literally wrote a rule against duplication into his book right in front of us as we were being arrested for it! He didn’t have any right to lock us up! So yeah, we broke out. Now he’s turning the town against us as punishment or something.”
She looked between them.
“Look,” they said as Danny floated closer, hands up in a sign of goodwill. “You don’t have to believe us, but will you at least help us free the people they’ve overshadowed and get them back to the zone.”
“Fine. I’ll agree to a truce, for now.” She crossed her arms and looked them over again. “You know, the talking together thing is really creepy.”
They shrugged. “We can’t help it. We’ve tried.”
“Do you have to be split up?”
“We’re stronger this way, and there’s a lot of ghosts. Three’s better than one.”
“That’s true. So what’s your plan?”
“We can get the ghosts out of people by pulling them out or using a low energy blast.”
“You want to fire on random people and hope they’re overshadowed,” she deadpanned.
The three shared a look. “She’s got a point. It’s faster that way though and a blast like that wouldn’t hurt anyone. We’re trying to convince them we’re here to help. We don’t think they’d see it that way if we’re attacking people.” They turned back to Valerie. “We can get the ghosts out by pulling them out of people.”
She pointed between them. “Did you just have a fight with yourself?”
“Ever hear of talking aloud to work through a problem?” Danny elbowed Sam. “Can your suit detect people who are overshadowed? Human bodies block our ghost sense.”
“I don’t know. I can try when we get to the town hall.”
“Alright, so we’ll work on getting the ghosts out, and then you can knock them down. Agreed?”
“Fine. Just know, as soon as this is over I’m knocking you down too.”
They nodded and the four shot towards the town hall.
Danny grabbed Valerie and phased her through the ceiling so they could hover over the crowd invisibly.
“Order! Order!” the mayor was yelling and everyone quieted down. “All in favor of declaring martial law, and allowing the completely competent Jack Fenton to mobilize a massive ghost hunt, please say-”
“We… might be too young to vote, but we’re casting one anyway!” they said as Sam turned visible.
The crowd panicked.
“You people have to listen to us. We’re on your side.”
“You're not fooling anybody, ghost kid! You are going down!” Danny’s dad yelled, brandishing the still tangled fisher. “As soon as I untangle this thing!”
“I’ve got the mayor on my scanner, but I’m having problems scanning the crowd,” Valerie said.
“The Fentons?”
“No, they’re clean.”
“That’s bad.”
“Why?”
“Maddie Fenton’s a good shot.”
Sam dropped to the ground as Danny’s mom fired at her. A moment later the ghost girl was dragged through the floor.
The three followed to see the horde from before all standing over Sam, with the mayor leading the charge.
“Walker! I should've guessed you'd end up in the guy that makes the rules!”
“Shouldn't you be running?”
Sam looked up as Danny, Tucker, and Valerie turned visible. “Shouldn't you?”
Danny passed Valerie his thermos then the trio launched themselves at the ghosts. Knocking them free with punches and blasts while Valerie vacuumed them up.
Then Danny’s mom was there.
“I’ve got her,” Valerie said, tossing Tucker the thermos and intercepting the woman before she could blast one of the trio.
“Ghost!” she said, pointing the bazooka at her.
“Human,” Valerie countered, removing her glove to show her human skin. “A hunter, like you. Name’s… Red Huntress. The ghost kid’s working for me, for now. The mayor and a few others are overshadowed.”
“Ghosts can’t be trusted,” Maddie argued.
“I don’t trust them, but I’m willing to use them until we can solve the invasion.”
The woman hummed and looked to where the trio were freeing their classmates. “I don’t like it, but I see your point. You’re certain the mayor’s overshadowed?”
“Saw it for myself. He’s the leader and he’s got a grudge against Doppelgänger. The ghost kid. That’s why he was trying to get you and your husband to lead the charge against them specifically.”
Maddie nodded. “I don’t have anything on me to deal with possession.”
“Neither do I. That’s why I’m using them.”
Maddie considered her arsenal. “I’ll be back.”
She ran upstairs and grabbed Fenton Zapper. She was about to run back down when the mayor appeared, hauling the ghost kid with him.
“Let us go!”
“Not a chance.” He forced the kid’s arm around his shoulders then threw the front doors open. As Maddie ran closer, she heard him quietly say, “I’m making sure your prison is the town where you live.”
She aimed.
“Help. He-”
She fired and a large white ghost was knocked out of the mayor.
The ghost kid caught the mayor and lowered him to the ground carefully.
“You okay, Mayor Montez?” she asked as she ran up to their side.
“What happened?” he said, looking around.
“You were overshadowed by him,” she said, gesturing to the angry ghost floating in front of the town hall. She glanced at the ghost kid, who held up his -- her? -- hands and smiled awkwardly. “We’re just… going to go fight Walker now if that’s okay Mrs. Fenton.”
She glared at… them and turned to the white ghost, drawing the bazooka and firing.
“Or you can do that. That works too,” they said as the ghost disappeared into the mini-portal.
She turned back to find the ghost kid gone.
“Mrs. Fenton! Mrs. Fenton!” some reporters rushed up to her, waving cameras and microphones. “What just happened? Was the ghost kid really kidnapping the mayor?”
“Mayor Montez was possessed -- or overshadowed -- by a ghost attempting to frame the ghost kid for reasons we don’t yet know.”
She heard footsteps behind her and turned to see Red Huntress leading out a group of people.
“They’re all free, but the ghost kid took off while my back was turned,” she said, voice annoyed.
Maddie nodded and turned back to the reporters. “It seems we were wrong to think the ghost kid was leading the invasion, but they're still dangerous and we don’t know why they are here.”
“He saved me!” one of the teens shouted, flipping her hair over her shoulder and beaming as the cameras turned to her. “He’s totally a hero!”
“Yeah, she was awesome!” a blonde teen in a letterman’s jacket said as an Asian teen nodded along behind him. “You should have seen her blasting the ghosts out of us!
"It was like something out of a superhero movie! Awesome!”
Maddie tried to interject, but a few more teens joined in and the reporters turned all their focus on interviewing the victims.
“This won’t end well,” Red Huntress huffed and jumped into the air so a hoverboard could form underneath her. “It was cool working with you, Mrs. Fenton.”
“You as well.”
Valerie only made it out of sight of the town hall before she was stopped. Her hand settled on her pistol, but didn’t draw it. “You’re an idiot for sticking around.”
The ghost kid shrugged and rubbed their neck. “We just wanted to thank you for giving us a chance. And to apologize for what happened with your dad. We really are sorry we couldn’t stop Cujo before he reached the lab.”
“I thought the dog wasn’t yours.”
“He isn’t, technically, but someone has to keep him out of trouble and clearly no one else is going to do it so we kind of took him in after what happened to your dad. He’s actually really sweet when he’s not upset about being put down and losing his favorite toy.”
“Sure,” she said sarcastically. “Look, this was a one-time thing, understand. I just needed your help. I still don’t trust you.”
“We’ll just have to change your mind then.” They gave her a salute then disappeared.
She could have followed them with a scanner, but she let them get away. This time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sam and Tucker were scowling when Danny met back up with them in Sam’s room. Head ducked, he landed and transformed. “So…”
“What were you thinking?” the two said.
“You know what I was thinking,” he sighed, dropping into a bat-shaped bean bag chair.
“She’s trying to kill us,” Sam growled.
“Exactly. If we can get her to realize we’re not the bad guys then that’s one less person after us.”
“It’s dangerous, dude,” Tucker said.
“I’ll be careful.”
“Uh-huh, sure.” Sam crossed her arms and stood over him. “Just remember you’re not the only one at risk here.”
“I know.” He stood up and hugged her. “Like I said, I’ll be careful.”

Doppelgänger (2/?)
{Parental Bonding}
“We can possess people!” the trio said, Tucker bouncing in midair. Sam crossed her arms. “That seems really wrong. We didn’t do it on purpose. Imagine how many dates we could get this way. We don’t need dates. We know we want to go to the dance.”
Sam turned human, dropping onto Tucker’s bed with a scowl.
Danny floated closer to her with an apologetic expression.
“Sorry,” he and Tucker said.
“It’s okay. I know you guys aren’t intentionally prying. It’s just kind of annoying sometimes.”
“We’re getting better at keeping things separate,” they said as Tucker sat down at the end of the bed. “Maybe we’ll be able to figure out secrets as we work on it. Do we need to have secrets though?”
“Yes, Danny, we do,” Sam said, poking the boy. “You might have loose lips, but I like my privacy.”
Danny pouted and transformed. “I don’t have loose lips. I just don’t get why anything has to be a secret between us. We’re best friends.”
Sam grabbed his arm and tugged him onto the bed with her.
His pout immediately fled as he curled up in her arms, his head tucking beneath her chin.
Tucker gasped and turned human. “It’s a cuddly Sam day!”
She shot him a glare. “Not for you it isn’t.”
He ignored her and joined them on the bed, pressing up to her back and draping an arm over both his friends. She grumbled, but relaxed back against him as Danny poked his head up to give them both kisses on the cheek.
They rested together for a while before Sam’s phone went off.
She nudged Danny, who’d been dozing. “Come on, it’s getting late. We should get home before someone realizes we aren’t in our beds.”
“No one will check on me before morning,” Danny said with a nuzzle.
She pushed him off the bed.
“Well then.”
Tucker sat up as the two stood and transformed. “Sam, wait.”
They turned to him.
“Uh, you know, since neither of us have dates and you really want to go, the two of us could go to the dance together as friends.”
Danny smiled and Sam tilted her head.
“Really?” they asked.
“Sure. I’ve pretty much struck out with everyone in school anyways and someone has to keep an eye on Danny.”
“Hey! True. HEY!”
{One of a Kind}
Skulker looked between the human boy he was tailing and the ghost child glaring down at him. He could have sworn the half-ghost was the child of the hunters Plasmius had paid him to investigate, not the boy's female friend.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No, that can’t be. He was sure the girl was the ghost child. He knew he had seen the technology-boy asleep with the hunters’ child!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Skulker gaped at the three ghost children surrounding him. “What are you?”
“We are Doppelgänger, and you are done here,” they somehow said together while sounding like only one.
At least he'd still accomplished the job Plasmius required, Skulker thought as he was pulled into a cylindrical device.
{Attack of the Killer Garage Sale}
“You’re not going to go to the party?” Sam asked as Danny tossed the invite Dash had given him in the trash.
“Sam, I don’t think we’d need our bond to feel your hatred for this entire situation,” Tucker said.
“Sorry.” She’d really been trying to hold back her more jealous and controlling nature since the accident. It wasn’t fair to her partners.
“It’s fine,” Danny said, knocking their shoulders together with a smile. “It’d feel weird without you guys anyways. Who would talk trash about the A-listers in our heads or get turned down by every person in the room?”
“Rude,” Tucker said.
“Besides, what would happen if a ghost showed up. Dash’s place is too far from either of yours for our mind link.”
“That’s true,” Sam agreed.
“You could always just call our phones,” Tucker said and his partners paused, surprised.
“Phones,” Sam chuckled. “How did we forget phones exist?”
“We might be getting too dependent on the mind link,” Danny laughed, rubbing his neck.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sam and Danny looked up as Tucker dropped down onto the couch between them.
“You guys could have helped,” he huffed, passing the thermos to Danny and turning human.
“Tech’s you thing,” Danny said with a shrug, tossing the thermos into his Space Fold.
“Did you need help?” Sam asked, handing Tucker a bowl of popcorn.
He snorted. “Technus, master of technology and destroyer of worlds, was running an old version of Portals XL. It was easy to slip through the cracks with my powers. That’s not the point though.”
{Splitting Images}
Sam and Tucker watched Danny’s parents run off, then turned to their partner. “Watch it, Danny. Your parents almost c-” they stopped, then glared. “Who are you? Where’s Danny?”
The boy who was mostly not Danny frowned. “I don’t know what you mean.”
Sam grabbed him by the front of his shirt and slammed him against the lockers, her eyes glowing yellow.
“Tell us where our partner is now?” she and Tucker said as one and he stepped up next to her, his own eyes purple. “We can feel you’re not him!”
Poindexter immediately caved. He was smart enough to know he’d have a hard time taking on one halfa on in a fight, let alone two.
Sam was a lot more willing to hear out the old school nerd once her own nerd was safely in her arms and the three decided to let Poindexter stick around, so long as he agreed not to hurt or humiliate any of the bullies he went after, only spook them away from their targets. Especially when Danny told them about how Poindexter was treated in his own version of Casper High.
And they thought Dash was bad.
{What You Want}
You said she’s a genie ghost? Why didn’t you just wish her into the thermos? Sam asked.
Tucker and Danny shared a look from where they were hovering over the sick girl’s home.
You both are idiots. Get out of here before one of my parents spot you.
We’re invisible, they pointed out, but said their goodbyes and left all the same.
“Why didn’t we think of wishing her away? Because only one of us got all the common sense when the portal mashed us together. True. Oh, man! What? We forgot to share about the plasmablasts! Shoot, we’re dead. No puns right now, this is serious!”
{Bitter Reunions}
“Bad news,” Danny said as soon as he picked up the group call. “My parents are dragging me and my sister with them to their college reunion in Wisconsin.”
“That sucks,” Tucker hissed.
“Yeah, but our news is worse,” Sam said. “Knock knock.”
Her words were matched with a knock at Danny’s window and he opened the curtains to find Sam floating outside.
“Who’s there?” Tucker asked.
“Sam,” Danny said, gesturing her in.
“Sam who?”
“Sam’s at my window,” Danny snorted as she floated through intangibly. “What’s going on?”
“Wait, she’s at your house? Why? Do I need to come?”
“No, we took care of the problem for now.” Sam reached into the bag she’d strapped to her belt -- Danny could open the Space Fold for her and Tucker from a distance, but they only really did that for the thermos -- and pulled out a torn picture. “Look familiar.”
“Is that my dad?” Danny asked, taking it. The man in the picture certainly looked like his dad did in his collage pictures.
“That’s what we thought too.”
“What’s going on?”
“We took on this group of vulture ghosts just now and they had a picture of Mr. Fenton,” Sam explained. “They said they were on a search and destroy mission.”
“They want to kill Danny’s dad?”
“Why?”
“We don’t know,” Sam sighed. “They got away from us before we could interrogate them properly. We could have used our speed.”
“Sorry, my parents are in an inventing lull so they’re actually paying attention to my curfew,” Danny said, still looking at the picture.
“I still don’t get why Danny’s faster than us.”
“Tiny.”
“You mean smol.”
“No.”
“Yes. And it’s not fair.”
“You take hits better than Sam and I,” Danny pointed out. “And Sam’s stronger than us. It balances out. Now can we get back to the fact that someone put a hit out on my dad?”
“Sorry, we don’t know anything else.”
“At least you guys are going out of town. Hopefully, Sam and I can track down the birds before you get back.”
“Yeah, I hope so.”
Sam took her partner’s hand and pulled him into a hug.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Holy crow.”
“Tell us about it,” Danny groaned.
“We should have been there,” his partners said.
“We’re kind of glad we weren’t,” Danny said, poking his head into the RV for a second to make sure his parents and sister were still asleep. “Who knows what Vlad would have done if he knew about us? He thinks we use the royal we.”
“We can’t believe there’s another halfa out there. And he’s such a creep. Do we think he’d want us? Or only one of us?”
Danny frowned, rubbing his chest. It was weird being in ghost form, hearing his partners in their ghost form, and yet not being a part of the mind link. “We don’t know. And we don’t want to know. He doesn’t need to be anywhere near us. He’s a fruit loop.”
“Agreed.”
{Prisoners of Love, Part 1}
The trio floated back to back as they looked around the Ghost Zone. Danny pressed closer to his partners, eyeing a group of small blobs that he swore was following him, while Sam vibrated with excitement and Tucker snapped pictures with his phone.
“Can we just find the gift already? This place is amazing. No, it's not. It's creepy. And it goes on forever. We don't even know where to start to look! Maybe we can ask for directions?”
Tucker flew up to one of the doors. He knocked and opened it.
“Excuse me,” they said. “Would you be able to -”
“Get. Out. Of. My. ROOM!”
Tucker shut the door.
“Well, that won’t work. This is hopeless. We’re never gonna find that present. Our folks are gonna get divorced and it’s gonna be all our fault.”
Sam wrapped her arms around Danny.
“We’ll figure this out. Maybe we just need to think like a box. Think like a box? Well, the box isn’t a ghost. It’s from the human world.” Danny’s head popped up. “Yes, maybe the ghost zone’s gravity affects human world stuff differently than ghost stuff. If we can track the orbital paths, then we can figure out where the box went. But how would we figure out these orbital paths? We know one way. No.”
Tucker flew down to one of the floating islands, then transformed.
“Stop!” Sam and Danny shouted, flying up to him. “We don’t know how the Ghost Zone will affect a human. Our parents haven’t run any tests yet!”
“I’m fine, see,” Tucker said, gesturing at himself. “I can even breathe just fine. Everything’s okay.”
“For now.”
“I think it’s a little too late to worry about ectoplasmic radiation, so what are you two so worried about.”
“Only one of us is worried. We’re both worried.”
Sam shoved Danny, then shoved Tucker when he started laughing.
The boy yelped and braced himself when the shove knocked him towards a tree.
He passed right through it.
“What the heck?” the two said.
Tucker stood up and set his hand on the tree. Then he pressed down and his hand slipped through the tree, coming out the other side.
Danny dropped down next to him and tried to do the same, but couldn’t get his arm to go through the tree even when he turned intangible.
Sam snapped her fingers.
“Ectoplasm. Everything here is made of ectoplasm. Maybe being in the ghost zone naturally puts everything in a semi-intangible state, which means humans can pass through it if they try.”
“So we’re the ghosts here!” Tucker cheered, bouncing. “Sweet!”
“It’s definitely something to keep in mind.”
Tucker smiled and held up his arms. “Now that that’s settled, let’s see how this human gets affected by ghost gravity.”
Danny hesitated, but Sam shrugged and picked Tucker up and threw him into the void.
He flew a few yards before slowing down until he was just floating in place. They waited a moment, but nothing else happened.
“Well, that was anticlimactic,” Tucker said then transformed.
Danny and Sam flew up to him, all three saying, “That should have worked though. There has to be some sort of orbit or else the box would have just been right outside the portal and we check right after it got knocked in.”
Tucker shrugged and pulled out his phone. Danny’s eyes locked onto it. He grabbed it out of Tucker’s hand and tossed it.
“Hey! Look, it’s moving!”
The trio watched as the phone’s trajectory slowed, then started again slightly to the right of where it had been heading before.
“Humans might just be too heavy or dense for ghost orbit. Or maybe it’s a consciousness thing, like with the intangibility. Whatever it is, let’s just get going. If we lose our phone, we’re going to regret it.”
The three set off drifting a short ways behind the phone. They stuck close enough to be sure they didn’t lose it, but far enough that they wouldn’t accidentally alter its course. Eventually, the phone floated intangibly through one of the doors, this one looking like a rolling warehouse door.
The trio shared a look then opened the door and flew inside.
The lair was just a purple void filled with a variety of random items.
“So this is where all that stuff ends up. It’s like the void of lost items,” they said as Tucker grabbed his phone.
“Yes!” the trio turned to see the Box Ghost flying up. “It all ends up in the possession of THE BOX GHOST!”
“Ugh, this guy. What are you doing here? Don’t you have a cardboard box to haunt.”
Boxy blinked looking between the three before pointing at Sam, who was floating in the middle.
“I am The Box Ghost! Where do you think we go when you release us from your round, cylindrical trap?”
Danny looked unimpressed, Sam crossed her arms and started looking over all the junk, and Tucker ran a hand over his face.
“It is not our turn to deal with this. You mean the Fenton Thermos? The gift has to be here somewhere.”
He looked between them then threw up his arms menacingly. “I am the Box Ghost!”
“We know.”
“And beware! For I am merely ONE of your foes who reside in this realm! In fact, you might say,” the box ghost snorted, “we’re a PACKAGE DEAL!”
“I swear if we laugh at that, we’ll punch us. We’re not laughing at that. It’s the Box Ghost. We would laugh at that. That was a bad pun even for us.” They groaned and Danny floated closer to Boxy, holding his hands up in a show of good faith. “Look, we’re looking for something important, we don’t have time for your box puns.”
Suddenly police sirens sounded and the trio looked around.
“Flee!” Boxy shouted. “Lest you be hermetically sealed and shipped to your doom!” He tried to fly off, but a blast of green energy hit him, causing his wrists to be bound in handcuffs made of energy.
Sam and Tucker flew up to grab Danny’s arms. “Hey, what’s going on? We need to get out of here! Let’s -”
A blast hit them and they were bound together.
“Unauthorized duplication. That’s against the rules.” The trio looked up to see a large white ghost hovering over them. He pulled out a green book. “Or at least it is now.”
“Duplication? Like Plasmius? Wait! This is all a big misunderstanding! We’re not -”
The ghost moved so it was like he was crouched on invisible ground and shoved his face into Tucker’s. He grabbed Tucker’s phone and said, “There may be chaos everywhere in this Ghost Zone, but there’ll be order in my prison.” He stood up and turned to a group of ghosts in riot gear. “Merge them and ship them off.”
One of the ghosts smiled and pointed a police baton at them.
“Hold on! You’ve got the wrong -”
He shot them with a blast and a ring of energy wrapped around them and squeezed. It grew tighter and tighter and their bodies were pressed closer and closer.
“Stop! Wait! Please!”
And then there was a snap. It wasn’t audible. It wasn’t even physical. It was just a feeling as three bodies became one.
Doppelgänger looked down at their hands in shock, their mind a whirl of emotions and thoughts. They barely noticed as the ghost police grabbed their arms and threw them in the back of a prisoner transport van.
“We’re one?” they whispered, staring at their hands.
They certainly didn’t feel like one. They could feel Sam's and Danny's and Tucker’s minds rioting against one another in their head. It was like the trio were all trying to overshadow each other at once. Their body shook with hot and cold and lightning. They tried to pull apart, but the bands on their wrists, ankles, and waist kept their powers dulled and their ectoplasm merged.
The police returned and Doppelgänger shuffled into the corner of the van to keep away from the monsters. Thankfully they only shoved the Box Ghost inside and shut the doors.
Doppelgänger turned to the wall of the van. “If we transform, we can slip out. Can we transform with these bonds? Better question, what would happen if we transformed like this?” They shivered at the idea of being merged in their human forms. “Yeah, no. We need to figure out how to separate, then we can transform and get away from these psychos. Seriously, as if living corrupt police weren’t bad enough. We need to focus. Can this situation get any worse? Our folks are splitting up, our sister’s a basket case, and we’re going to ghost jail.” They curled up, trying to hold themselves as best they could with their bonds. “It will be okay. We’ll be okay. They’ll have to remove the bonds at some point then we can get away. It will be okay.”
