one (1) person said they wanted to hear more about the alex de minaur jannik sinner narrative so here we go
it is 2019. your name is alex de minaur. you are 20. you are seeded first in the atp next-gen finals, you have three actual atp titles, you're ranked 18th in the world, and you're an aquarius man; consequently, you are somewhat full of yourself. you wear tennis gear with your ridiculous nickname on it. you speak spanish every two seconds in the documentary, because you must show off. you believe you are, by all rights, The Main Character.
then this skinny italian wild card pops up and destroys you.
okay. that's fine. embarrassing!!! but fine. whatever. we move on. he's cool! you're friends! let's keep going. at the end of 2020, you run into him again in the sofia quarterfinals, where you take the first set and then he destroys you again. with a breadstick to really rub it in. he goes on and wins the whole thing, which means he wrecked you on his way to his first-ever atp title. fine! okay. whatever.
it is 2021. you don't see him again, which is just as well, because you have a soaring high and then a terrible low (string of r1/r2 losses). you drop to 34th in the world; meanwhile, jannik sinner has spent the year going from 37th to cracking the top 10. things are not looking great.
in 2022, you make it to the third round of the auso for the first time, where you meet—guess who—jannik sinner. again. you're starting to get really tired of this guy. he knocks you out of your home slam. thankfully you have a relatively successful year afterwards, climbing back up the ranks.
it's 2023! this will be your year, surely. you kick it off by winning your first 500. the sunshine double doesn't go great but you do brilliantly at queen's club and los cabos, only losing in the finals to top 10 players. then.... Canada.
you beat fritz. you beat medvedev. you make it to the final of a 1000 for the first time! and then jannik sinner is there in all his ginger glory, and, well. you know how this is going to go. bye-bye first 1000 title, hello increasingly miserable h2h. you start wondering if you're going to be there for all of this guy's career-defining wins. you start wondering why the hell it had to be you specifically. this is getting ridiculous. because now it's 2024 and he won the whole entire australian open and then to really seal in the whole thing he had to go and beat you, specifically in rotterdam to make some more history.
and like, you guys are friends. pretty good friends, actually. you played doubles once and it was hilarious!! but also, consistent and absolute annihilation??? seriously???
in summary i find their friendship absolutely mindbending. alex de minaur you must be the nicest person ever because personally if someone did me like this i would spend my entire life trying to blow them up with my mind

My memory is terrible so I wanted to do a breakdown of my stuff every once in a while. Might be monthly, might be whenever I feel like it. Also there are too many shows on and something is always finishing or starting so a month is a lot.
BL - Currently Watching
1000 Years Old [2/12] - It's silly, and entertaining and makes me laugh. The friend group is delightful and I'm having a good time watching them. Was excited for a minute when Yo suggested a haircut for Pun because I cannot handle that wig. 🤞
Anti Reset [5/10] - This is one of the most frustrating shows I've watched in a while. The show doesn't seem to settle on what is actually trying to say about the AI of it all, and when it says something I'm not crazy about it. Why is it so frustrating? Because they are so fucking endearing when they're together on screen. I wanna love this show so much.
Cherry Magic Th [11/12]– I love them so much. I'm fascinated by the choices that the show is making. As a big fan of the manga and the jbl I came into this with reservations and this show is just blowing my mind. This was the best episode 11 of all time and Tay/New are delivering. My heart is so full with this.
Cherry Magic Anime [7/12]– Another helicopter ride! Yay. The date song was hilarious. We're now getting to the point where they are dating and Adachi is feeling guilty for lying so I'm curious how the show will adapt the next phase of the relationship.
Dead Friend Forever [10/12]– Glad to see we are all on board with Tan's murderous impulses. It's been so much fun having more people join in on the fun. As for me, I NEED White to stay alive. That's really all I want. Getting curious about how Perth factors in to all of this.
My Strawberry Film[2/8] - I feel it coming. I see sadness in my future. But I'm bracing because I'm loving the look of this show. And pining boys are my favourite type of boys. I'm ready.
Ossan's Love Returns [8/9] - The videos messages destroyed me but then that ending made me annoyed. I don't know what to expect in terms of Kurosawa but I hope he's not actually dying and there's a really good reason for all this. Medical mal practice might be the thing. Although as @twig-tea pointed out to me, since it was said in show it might not actually happen. I want happy for the ending anyway.
Perfect Propose [5/6] . Why must I only have them for 6 episodes??? I need more. Kai is everything to me, and that back hug followed by that smile melted by cold heart. Hiro's boss needs something heavy to fall on him from a great height. And please Hiro,sweetie, I need you to eat better and sleep.
Although I Love You, and You? [7/10]- Sakae is letting me down. And by that I mean, the show is letting me down. Sakae needs to put his foot down with Mizuki and go back to being a fool in love with Soga.
To Be Continued [1/8] - It's not amazing. but I'm a sucker for second chance romance and there are two couples so there's a 50% chance I will like this. We'll see. Also, they need to start hiring younger actors for the high school flashbacks. This goes for A Secretly Love too. Having 27 year olds and up playing ten years younger just won't do. It's terrible.
Unknown [2/12] - I'm intrigued. Not completely sold yet but I'm liking it so far. Also nothing would keep me away from watching Sam Lin again.
Also watched the first episode of A Secretly Love and caught up with City of Stars but it's on the 'I need to shut of my brain' schedule so I'm not necessarily watching to weekly.
BL - Finished
Cooking Crush - I will miss all of them. I loved it so much. The whole cut/uncut version thing was annoying and the editing was weird at times but overall this was wonderful. Communication done right. Relationships and character growth was stellar and both couples won my heart. Aungpao really surprised me, considering he was surrounded my pros on all sides. Dynamite was a joy to watch. And OffGun delivering with all the kissing. Everyone should watch this.
The Sign - I mean, what they did to this show is absolutely insane. Not airing the finale like the rest of the show. Having to pay extra for happy ending is ridiculous (although I kinda predicted this and @lurkingshan is my witness. I said as a joke and it turns out reality is a joke.) Then waiting 2 whole weeks for whatever that was. Just the most unsatisfying experience. Go read this from Shan because I agree with everything said there. Also @bengiyo final thoughts here really echo how I felt about this show overall.
Happy Ending - 20 minutes split in 3. Why? No idea. Was it a happy ending? I think so. Was it cute? Sure. Was it great to watch Seong Hyuk again? You betcha. But I didn't love it. I need Choco Milk Shake S2, like, TODAY.
Playboyy - It ended.
Rose Watches OJBL - I feel bad about this. I didn't watch any of the ones I planned to. This might seem like whatever but I've been trying to catch up with awards season films, because since uni, me and a couple of friends always do it and finish it by watching the oscars together and so ojbl was were I dropped the ball. Gonna restart soon though.

Ok, so, just watched the season 4 specials, and wow that is a ride.
I'm not going to spoil what happened, but I want to talk about something at the end that i believe links into who the next "big bad guy"(s) is/are.
So, potential spoiler warning, go watch the specials and come back here once your done!
What I am referring to specifically is this image and something Wukong said.
Now, lets get down to business.
During the final confrentation Wukong said something to Azure that could only mean one thing to me. He basically implied he killed Azure back in the past.
But, if that was the case, there is no way Azure should be top side. And unlike my belief that Wukong didn't kill Mac, in this case, I have to believe Wukong killed Azure. Wukong's confusion and questions along with Azure's own recognition that something is wrong and that he was used can only point to the lion's death.
But if that is the case, how was he top side? How did he escape the Diyu?
This will not surprise anyone who has read the journey to the west, the source material for a lot of the Lego Monke Kid past and characters, but, only one person ever went into the Diern and escaped back to the mortal coils. And that was the Monkey King, as shown in Mac's explanation of Wukong's past.
And this vissage looks strikingly familiar to the temple we see at the end, to the point it has to be the same place. Plus some of the individuals who were in the scene were interacting with more pieces of the scroll that was used, specifically referring to it as the "scroll of memories".
The backstory imagery, Wukongs statement of Azure being dead, as well as this scene linking the scroll back to this place can only point to one thing for me.
The Diyu's 10 kings are the next bad guy.
That place can only be the Diyu, the image is shown when Mac is referring to Wukong's travels into the realm of the dead and removing his name from the leger. And with Azure being dead and the scroll seemingly being the property of the Diyu, and the Diyu being damb spiteful about keeping it's souls in the land of the dead unless they reincarnate there is no way of any of this happening unless the 10 kings set this up. They let Azure out of the Diyu with the scroll in hopes of achieving something.
And based on Azure's almost continuous hate and desire to kill Wukong till Wukong pointed out the problem the only reason I can think they would do it is exactly that they wanted Azure to kill Wukong.
It makes sense after all, the 10 kings were humiliated by Wukong in the original story and they likely would have wanted to get back at Wukong. But why now? Why over likely 1000 years later? Well, part of it likely relates to Wukong trashing the place and it taking them time to get the place back in order. The other reason, I think, relates to them thinking Wukong would be weak enough for Azure to take him down. We all remember how beat up and drained Wukong was for all of season 3, and while time had likely passed between seasons 3 and 4 it probably wasn't a lot of time. So, maybe once the 10 kings got word of what happened they searched for a soul to use to achieve their goal, kill Sun Wukong.
I don't think they expected their plan to go so far off the rails and almost destroy the universe, but I am positive they wanted Wukong dead.
So, I expect season 5 will either be the group having to protect Wukong from even more of his old enemies trying to kill/kidnap him, or having to rescue Wukong again, this time from the Diyu.
I can't be sure though, and if this all is the case that they were trying to kill Wukong, it is entirely possible my believe Wukong didn't kill Mac is wrong and the Diyu was trying to use LBD to get rid of Wukong, potentially multiple times and tried to use Mac as a tool to make it happen!
Also, Mac being so tight liped about what happened to fully push apart Mac and Wukong even now, makes me hope we will see it if/when Wukong and Mac finally fully apologise to each other and start rebuilding their relationship. What wukong did with Mac in the ending scene makes me think Wukong wants to try the two's friendship again, but I can't be sure.
However, I need to ask, what do you all think?

AITA for destroying an entire world.
I was born in a family of over 10 pair of twins and I lost my twin when I was very young. We were living in a terrible environnement where we could die or get killed for being deemed as incompentent failures and we were send off a battle field at a young age. On top of that, my other half siblings were often ploting against one another and killing their own twins. I had to deal all alone with all of this. One day, I met one of my half brothers. It was a shy kid who happen to look exactly like me. We quickly became the best friends ever and he became the one person who could replace the void left by losing my twin. But he soon died on the battlefield and he begged me to replace him so that his older sister wouldn't feel sad. And I accepted to change place, partly because I wanted to live to honnor his memory. I think I should have been the one dying in his stead since I had no one, no meaning to my existence. But for him, I did it anyway. I ended up becoming attached to my half sister, to the point of feeling as if were twins, like I did with my brother. But I couldn't help but feel guilty, as if I were stealing what's rightfully his, what doesn't belong to me, as if the love I received from her was just deceit. This feeling eventually extended to my friends, were I felt like they didn't belonged to me, but to my brother. That I was just an impostor. But my father, the man who would send us on the battlefield promised me to make me his heir. At that time I didn't realized he put a spell on my chest to control me. I so needed to feel validated and felt so haunted by the guilt and feeling as though I had to grant and live in my brother's stead that I became an easy puppet and ended up doing something horrible. I took advantage of the fact that one of my most precious friend entrusted me with a secret to set a plot to bring my father back when my friend successfully defeated him, destroying the world that my friend died to save. I also killed and revived some of our previous allies and leaded to the death of one of my knights. I hurted my sister by betraying her when I was the only one she used to trust and even tried to kill her and someone who ressembled that friends and came here to save this world. My sister sacrificed herself to break the spell I was under. I lost the only thing that actually mattered, wished to protect. I was so enraged at myself that I refused to let anyone take the blame for my actions and I spend 1000 waiting for her to wake up, offering my life energy in exchange. That would mean I would have lost some of my life span as well but it didn't mattered. I waited alone, hoping she would wake up and that I wouldn't be alone anymore, ever again. Eventually, she did. And she forgave me. And after that we came to join our friend who invited us to arrive, as we promised. And ever since, I did everything I could to atone and make up for my sins. I still live with the guilt however, and I know i don't deserve forgiveness which leads me to be cold to other and make them believe I didn't changed. However, talking to certain people made me being more open to my sweeter side but I still feel largely underserving of their kindness and friendship. But I really want to atone for what I did. I would even die if that means paying for what I did and tbh I do deserves to die.
So... ? What do you think ?... That's useless, I already know that I am just an irrdeemable monster who doommed an entire world

Mesut Özil, A Footballing Genius
March 22nd 2023 marks the day my favourite player of all time, Mesut Özil, retires. Mesut Özil was one of a kind, probably the purest playmaker number 10 you'll ever see. Maybe it's personal bias but I truly believe Mesut Özil is the best playmaker of all time. In no doubt in my mind should he be amongst the conversations of the Xavis, Iniestas and Zidanes of the world.
He could find space anywhere on the pitch whether it was himself getting into the space or just finding a pass that no one in the world would have thought of let alone execute it. His technical ability on the ball would just make you get off your seat. The passing ability he contained, the weight of the pass being perfect, the direction just pin point and even creating his signature pass/ shot. It's as if he had eyes all over his body, his vision and ability to find space is so good he managed to find space at a mosque during ramadan.
It breaks my heart that his career ends like this. As an arsenal fan, I believe we EXTREMELY let him down. The amount of chances he would create and just the quality on the pitch he brought was out of this world, if we just had a competent striker we could've won leagues and Mesut Özil would've obliterated records. For a player of his talent to only win one league title throughout his whole career saddens me.
2010 only at the age of 20 he introduced himself to the world. Displaying his immense talent on the biggest stage in the world, the world cup, which he would go on to win in 2014 as well as playing a very instrumental part in both campaigns. After his first World Cup Campaign he would go on to sign for Real Madrid registering 27 goals and 81 assists, just the thought of how many records he would've destroyed if he played with Ronaldo for more seasons. Then again, nothing beats that deadline day signing of Mesut Özil to Arsenal. Most chances created in the history of football, I truly don't think anyone else was better at pure playmaking. I think you could pull some random person of the streets, make them immortal, make them practice nonstop for 1000 years and they wouldn't be able to replicate what Mesut Özil could do on a football pitch.

My problems with DreamTale
First off, i don't care if all of @jokublog 's hardcore fans come and witchhunt me. This rant is my opinion (+ facts) and why would i care if a bunch of random people i dont know hate me? In fact, go on and hate me! Hate me all you like! Everytime you interact with my blog in any way thats free promo for me. Also i don't care if DreamTale is independant of Undertale nowdays or not because it started out as an Undertale AU and i will treat it as such.
Anyway lets get to it.
Let's start at the beginning with the childhood of Dream and Nightmare. After Nim merged with the tree she left them behind without a proper caretaker and she put the responsibility of taking care of the balance between positivity and negativity on their shoulders. May i remind you that they were basically children back then? And when the village came to be (or it already existed idk one of these) no one, absolutely no one, decided "hey there's these two kids that are basically homeless and live by a tree! Why don't i care for them?" even if they hated Nightmare, someone would've surely taken them in. To the homeless factor, sure they were fine when it was dry but what the hell did they do during rain, storms or snow? You can't tell me that it never rained or snowed in DreamTale. That is absolute bulshit. Also how did Dream and Nightmare provide for themselves? Did they work? As far as i remember the thing with giving apples to villagers was unpaid. Did they have a part time job? If yes, oh dear- If not, did they steal? Did the villagers just provide them with everything they needed to survive for free? I need answers.
Then lets move on to something i literally did math on. The apple incident. The story goes that Nightmare ate 999 black apples under peer pressure and Dream ate the last golden apple. First off, 1000 apples on a tree? Max an old and big Apple tree can carry is 800. Oh well it's magic, who cares. It's only 200 off. But can we talk about how incredibly nonsensical it is to have Nightmare eat 999 apples? He ate them, not ansorbed them. Well lets do the math then! The average time it takes to eat a whole apple would be around 11 minutes, lets round it to 10 for simplicity. 10 x 999 = 9990 minutes. 9990 minutes = roughly 7 days. These villagers pressured a kid with a panic attack for 7 days straight to eat apples, and thats not even counting possible breaks! Do these people not have anything better to do that insult and yell at a crying kid for 7 days straight to eat 999 apples? And the thing where Dream froze up or smth idk whatever reason he had to not stop Nightmare. 7 days. He had 7 days to do something and he didn't.
So, after 7 days of forcing a kid to eat a stupid amount of apples he corrupts. The story goes on as usual and we fast forward 500 years to when Dream and Nightmare fight. How does Dream even have a slight chance? If we go with videogame terms i assume the apples boost the stats of the one who ate them, otherwise they'd be pretty useless if they only increased positivity or negativity each. Nightmare had 999 black apples plus the corruption that altered his mind and body. The man's pretty much an elder god. Before we continue, how did he not manage to take over the multiverse or destroy or it whatever his plan is in the past 500 years when no one was actively opposing him? Was he waiting for Dream to break free? Did he simply not try? What DID Nightmare even do in the past 500 years? Whatever. So we have pretty much an elder god and then theres Dream. He has 1 apple. If the apples make you stronger how can one apple rival 999? Does the stat boost not stack? If yes, i remember there being a thing where Dream and Nightmare protected the tree from bad people who wanted the apples for themselves. If more apples don't increase your strength whats the point again? Or are golden apples simply so OP that 1GA = 999BA? If yes, why did they give out golden apples to others then? Or did Dream simply have way higher base stats than Nightmare? Then that's unfair as fuck and Nim is an even worse mother than she already is. The 1 = 999 ratio is bulshit and makes no sense.
Then let's go to the fun part! The personalities and they don't make sense! Look, i can forgive their personalities at the beginning of the story because they were pretty much children but holy shit are they awful later on-
Let's start with Joku's favorite, Dream. Dream is as bland as a brick, dense like one too. His entrie character is "perfect uwu boy" and Joku acts like he has no flaws and would never do anything bad. Thats not the case and that is not how you write a good character. Why do y'all think everyone hates on Mary Sue characters? Everything resolves around them and their only "flaws" the creators gave them are that they're "too good for this world". And thats the same case with Dream. He has no personality other than that he's perfect and a good guy. The only character depth is that his brother is evil. Thats it. And it's not good character design. Funnily enough in the original story Dream has a shit ton of flaws that Joku decides to ignore lmao
Let's get to Nightmare, a character who only exists to be hated by everyone and even his creator. His personality did a complete 180° after the corruption and i don't mind that. But the execution is dogshit. The original Nightmare (from now on referred to as Passive) apperantly died due to corruption. That makes no sense? What? If a plant is corrupted with a parasite it'll eventually die, sure, but then the parasite living on it will die too. Thats entire point. Passive wasn't corrupted by a virus or fungus or whatever but it's still the same concept. The parasite needs a host. If the host dies the parasite is screwed. If Passive is dead, so is the corruption. Because it needs the soul and if Passive is supposedly dead, so is the soul. So the "Passive is dead and there's only corruption" is bulshit. He's dead in spirit at least. Moving on, apperantly Nightmare became sexist after the corruption? What? From what i caught up he gained alot of traits simply to make him hateable and that is not how personalities work? If he wasn't sexist before why would he be sexist now? Did a woman wrong him in some way or why does he hate all women all of the sudden? Everything in a person's personality can be explained with psychology. Give me me the psychological answer to this, Joku. I get other shit in his personality because he's quite literally traumatized by a life of bullying and abuse but what the fuck are these new traits that make no sense? Also i remember reading somewhere that he can't feel positive feelings anymore. That is quite literally impossible because not all feelings can be categorized as positive and negative. Too much of positive shit can also quickly turn negative. What about neutral feelings? Please someone explain.
There's a good reason why everyone rewrites these two to fit their interpretation of them. They write them in a way that actually makes sense on levels other than surface level.
Conclusion: DreamTale has alot of plotholes and flaws, but nothing that can't be fixed over time. Characters and stories develop over time and the longer you use them the better they get. Unless you stubbornly believe your first draft is the perfect version and refuse to change anything despite some critism here and there. I'm not saying that i hate DreamTale, quite the opposite. I love the concept and what the fandom does with it. I just hate the original execution and the fact that Joku believes that it's perfect the way it is when it really isn't. Dear Joku, criticism isn't a bad thing and can cause alot of improvement because you hear the opinion from people with different points of views. But you'll reach nothing if you stay in your echo chamber where everyone looks up to you like you're a god and agrees with everything you say.

Elliot Edwards : Hey, Nights! Remember us? It's the kids, Elliot and Claris. Yeah, we're rich and famous, we just got back from our honeymoon after our years of marriage. Huh? Who are these extras?
Maka Albarn (as Claris Sinclair) : I'm not you or that girl you just married. (dips herself into the fountain to convert her original appearance) I'm Maka Albarn! These two extras have been using your appearances extras!
Nights : Extras? Sega didn't order me to hire any extras. What am I'm gonna tell Yuji Naka about hiring extras? That is literally not my idea of putting those two together. [To Elliot and Claris] It's been awhile to see you again, Elliot and Claris.
Elliot Edwards : Yeah, 1996 was a blow out.
"Elliot Edwards : Basketball Celebrity and Ex-Sonic Team Star"
Claris Sinclair : You have a strong advice, Nights. Seeing a girl that was mistaken for all those crimes that she did not commit. Poor thing. Don't worry, you're with us. Yuji Naka had his order claiming that he all wanted us a honeymoon for our vacation.
"Claris Sinclair : Legendary Diva and Ex-Sonic Team Star".
Elliot : You must be the visitors, Will and Helen, two blonde kids that we foreshadowed to Square Enix's new visitors by the year 2021.
Nights : That is correct. Naoto Ohshima would bring a new character to Square Enix by the year 21 itself.
Elliot Edwards : So these two kids are new here, nothing's a big shot of here, but you sure you brought someone to make a statement, is she really in the right place?
Nights : It's because that world she calls it "Soul Eater" was really a trap orchestrated by my oldest enemy or sometimes my former master, Wizeman.
Elliot : Wizeman!? So that entity you fought against had lured this girl into a trap?
Nights : Yep. Can't say how he managed to pull a few tricks up his sleeve, that's a big no no from Ohshima himself.
Elliot : Wizeman that sly dog. Using Maka Albarn as a victim to think that the Ohkuboverse really existed, but it turns out that the Real Ohkuboverse was destroyed by the Time Eater 1000 years ago.
Claris Sinclair : Yeah, it's because Shinra was scoled for the creation of that Shinigami person and the world you lived in that does not exist. So, uhh, you know, how do we say it.
Elliot Edwards : Your so-called world of Soul Eater created by Mr. Shinra himself was just all a fantasy in your head, a dream that you were living in. There's no such thing is Shinigami,nor a Kishin, and's there's no such thing as Madness. That author of yours knows how'd he used his imaginations to make his crazies stories into make believes to get all the stakes that he wanted.
Elliot Edwards (?) : And with our help, I believe that she was not the second destroyer of the Ohkuboverse, It was Kirby's first true villain, Nightmare. Because, I will break her free from the author's imagination, regain her livelyhood in Real World AU and she will have everything back to the way it was.
Claris Sinclair (?) : But we wouldn't let people meddling in the way of every villain's plan on taking out their crimes of everything did. So the real world itself needs Maka, the Real Maka Albarn as we all know it.

Ok, so what kind of power-ups would it take for the entirety of canon to defeat the Dehanatian Army?
Btw, the Dehanatian Army is… absolutely CRAZY, even as far as fanfiction’s concerned. I mean, despite the fact that the way I plan for them to be beaten in my story is with an army described as consisting of “every iteration of every form of every Ultra Warrior and every Absolutian Warrior that has ever existed in the multiverse” as well as every Ultra Series defense team ever, they’d still put up quite the fight due to their numbers and the strength of an individual foot soldier of this army (the weakest ones are around the level of GingaVictory, the strongest are around Ultra Brother Level).
But yeah, let me break that whole statement down for you: let’s use Zero for an example. This army’s not fighting Zero’s base form, it’s fighting all of the forms he’s ever had in my multiverse. On top of that, it’s fighting a version of each of those forms from every year since he gained them. So they’re fighting several thousands of every form of Zero. And yes: on top of just Zero, they’re doing the same with every Ultra and Absolutian warrior that’s ever existed. That includes those who’ve been long dead and those who still have a long way to go in life. Plus, on top of all that, you even have every defense team.
We’ve already talked about who’s in charge of the Dehanatian army: Dehanatis. However, I’ll send you the link to his doc again. Just know he’s planned to fight Ultraman Milave Perfection Mythical, Ultraman Constelas Beyond, and Ultraman Ignitious Solar State to a near perfect standstill and is only defeated with the aid of a heavily buffed Absolute Tartarus (who had just gotten back from sacrificing himself to summon that insane army) and the light of an energy source I’ve named the Multiverse Firmament (which is basically my take on the Eternity Core).
As for the scaling of Milave Perfection Mythical, Constelas Beyond, and Ignitious Solar State, I’ve sent you information in regards to them, too.
Oh, also, don’t use Zhrodulus in this: Dehanatis is already a ridiculously overpowered threat in base form, so there’s no need for that form to be included.
Youre asking a pretty weird question tbh.
Let me explain why.
Firstly, we can obviously see that yr OC is multiversal level, and no one in canon has demonstrated any feats on this level, with the best known feat being of course King fusing with the entire Side Space Universe (Lets just say he's Universal level for the sake of argument)
Secondly, restricting to canon means that u also cant bring in potentially beings that are potentially higher than the Legendary Ultras (eg Power Sources).
Thirdly, theres no powerup we've seen thus far that allows any Ultra to close this gap in power. iirc the best powerup Ive ever noted and explained before was the "Potential Unleashed" form that Ken had when he wielded the Ultimate Blade, which I calculated, grants about 30 000 years of M78 power growth, or a power multiplier of around 10^9 - 10^12 x base power. But we've only seen this work on the Ultra Great War Era Ultras.
iirc, the lowest Multiversal level for powerscaling is Low Multiversal, which the character can destroy from 2-1000 Universes, which is what im gonna put yr OC in since u brought in multiversal feats here (Gonna highball this yr OC abit cause i wanna sidestep the question of the extent of dimensional manipulation that u brought in as well). In contrast, canon has thus far only demonstrated Universal level feats
So clearly if we stick to canon, this would be an easy win for yr OC, and theres no known powerup that we know of in canon that could balance out the scales here. Which means the only way to actually answer this question is to go beyond canon to postulate, which is why yr question is weird cause ill have to go beyond canon to answer this question, or else there simply is no answer due to canon.
With that being said, theres a few ways I can approach this question:
Firstly, by extrapolating canon. Recall King is at 10^90 NG, if we assume that this is the minimum required power level to destroy say 1 Universe, the next known strongest is Noa, being 10^15 x stronger than King, therefore being able to destroy 10^15 Universes, this places Noa in Solid Multiverse Level (or 2B in powerscaling terms). Means we already have an existing member of canon that can hold his own against your OC. But this then becomes a discussion of who can manipulate/destroy to a greater extent, which is a very difficult question to answer cause recall that in the first place, we dont even have a solid Universal feat from canon (which im extrapolating from in the first place), and neither do you have so for your OC.
Another way we can approach this under the same category is of course to include the other postulated beings that are stronger than Noa that are in canon, such as VoL, Ultra Mind, Plasma Spark, Radical Destruction Bringer etc, but the only one that I am able to actually calculate is the DoL, being at 10^9000 NG, but itll just lead to the same undefined conclusion as above, but this just provides another perspective.
Secondly, by sticking as close to canon as possible, while im very sure Legendary Ultras surely have access to greater forms than what we see them portray (they have 300 000+ years of battle experience so of course), I wanna stick to known powerups for now, or else the entire answer would just be AU-based, not grounded in canon. We can simply just use the greatest canonical powerup that I pointed out above, that being the Ultimate Blade and assume it also works on Legendary Ultras, say Noa (whos the oldest and thus, assumed to be the strongest), whos at 10^105 NG, with the Ultimate Blade, this gives a resultant of 10^114 - 10^117 NG. Tho, this still gives the same result as the first point.
Another possibility is more ridiculous tbh as its mainly just testing the limits of the technology Ultras use to power themselves up. For example, theres no known canonical limit as to just how many of say Ultra Cards Orb can fuse to continuously give a stronger and stronger fusion, Like yeah sure itll take ALOT to reach even say Universal level, but considering that theres countless Ultras across the Multiverse, its theoretically possible? But of course its ridiculous nonetheless. Same idea with Ultra Overlapping, Ultra Fusion, Fusion Rise, pure fusion etc.
Lastly, is of course going into AU powerups, which tbh I dont wanna go there cause theres no point discussing this as one can always come up with a powerup thatll somehow bridge the power gap. But unlike the rest of the previous possibilities, this is the only one that could give a definitive answer to your question. Because to sidestep the discussion of which 2B-scaling (or 2A) is greater than the other, we just simply need to come up with a powerup to definitively place a canon being on Tier 1 at Extradimensional level, cause we can then say that itll definitively trump any Tier 2.
So yeah, stuff gets really insane and difficult to discuss on Universal scales and beyond, especially when we dont have solid feats from canon on this scale in the first place, which is why u cant really expect good answers that are based in canon cause your question premise wouldnt even be answerable without me making so many assumptions and large extrapolations

Every other social media platform has turned to burning garbage and I haven’t made weird life updates on Tumblr since November 2019, so let’s do a brief rundown, because oh man, it’s been a ride! Everything is mainly related to mental health, so if you somehow still follow me but also don’t care, you can just carry on!
I was diagnosed with
LQTS2, which is a heart thing (”abnormal feature of the heart's electrical system that can lead to a potentially life-threatening arrhythmia”) that generally only acts up once, with the consequence being “death”. Except mine’s the more chill version, and the cardiologist’s genuine professional opinion was “if it hasn’t killed you by your thirties, it’s unlikely to do so at all”. So I guess it’s great I haven’t... died? I’m not allowed to do competitive sports though, which is absolutely tragic oh no whatever will I do with my life now??? I shouldn’t eat licorice either, but fuck that. If licorice is what gives me a heart attack, then so be it.
Bipolar 2 and generalised anxiety, which is probably not even a little bit surprising to anyone who has met me, ever. Especially the bipolar bit. Again, I got the slightly more chill version, so I only get a little manic sometimes, and the annoying kind of depressed where you’re not really sad or happy, but rather just...meh. Mixed episodes seem to be my jam, and they’re absolutely 0/10, would not recommend.
Somewhat related to the previous two: I did one more round of burnout, and I’m currently maybe going through a Burnout Lite, which is honestly not even surprising at this point, because my mental health has been confirmed as wonky af, and my coping skills are still pretty much “I DON’T NEED HELP I CAN DO THIS OK”.
I have a therapist now. She keeps telling me I keep intellectualising my feelings, which is a very rude thing to point out, but also 100% true. I’ve told her I like to think of my feelings as something I’ve stuffed into a worn-out cardboard box that I’ve the taped up, tied with a nice bow, and buried under my bed. She does not like this. (We’ve actually made a lot of progress and I can already feel my feelings. Sometimes. It’s awful.)
I have a job that doesn’t destroy me emotionally, even if it’s 1000 % not something I ever thought I’d do for a living. Which I guess is kinda nice, because I have no emotional attachments to it, and I can just leave my work behind after my work day. Buuuut I also still kinda live to overachieve (see: Burnout Lite).
I was given manager-type responsibilities in my previous job, with no extra pay, and I was supposed to manage a team while also doing my own work tasks. This was the key reason for the second round of burnout. This was also why I eventually, finally quit.
I started studying for a new bachelor’s degree (see: overachieving) in August, and completed 61 credits by the end of the year. You’re supposed to do 30 per semester. Maybe perhaps perchance a little less if you’re working full time (see: Burnout Lite).
My dog is still the absolute best and the light of my life. She’s almost ten and getting grayer by the day, but she still acts like a puppy most of the time. Look at her.
Anyway, I’m still around. I’m closer to 40 than 30, feel like 80 or 20 depending on the day, and can apparently still pass for 25. I still browse Tumblr daily, and miss the olden days, when there was life and constant garbage fires, and stupid fandom wars that I could watch fly by in utter confusion.

I finally watched 2005 pride and prejudice and holy crap where do I begin like that movie did NOT have to come for me like that. It brutally murdered me and then blew me a kiss. everything about it has left me feeling raw. the banter, the hatred, the wit, when they were arguing in the rain and Darcy leaned forward slightly and they glanced at each other’s lips and I thought it was boring that they were going to kiss and then he pulled back and they DIDN’T and that was somehow worse. the fact that the entire movie was a massive build up of almost touches, lingering gazes, and pained yearning that had me waiting a whole dang two (2) hours for them to kiss exactly once in the tenderest way possible, completely obliterating me on the spot

using game theory to solve wilbur soot’s minecraft button game and submitting it as my final project
For my final project in my political science game theory course I am required to turn in an analysis of a game that I found in The Wild. Either the fates smiled upon me or they really hated me because a few days before the proposal was due Wilbur uploaded his button video where he dumps 100 kids in an empty room with a button and sees how long they can go before pressing it. And I thought wow. That would be an interesting and really confusing game theory model. Am I too embarrassed to tell my professor I want to model a game from a minecraft youtube video?
Apparently I have no shame because here it is in all its glory.
The Game: One hundred people are in a room with one button, if they make it ten minutes without pressing the button, one participant will be randomly selected to win $1000. The participants take turns choosing whether or not to press the button. If they press it, the button will randomly select one of the players to be removed, including the player who pressed the button. For each player removed, ten dollars are deducted from the prize.
For the sake of not destroying my sanity we’re removing the incentives of getting bored, wanting to do something interesting to be in the video, people’s bad risk assessment skills, and the different values that people place on $1000. Those are all important but I’m an undergrad and I have other finals to worry about so this is the best we’re going to get. I’m also going to pretend that Wilbur lets everyone have a turn pressing the button, and if they run out of people the cycle starts over again. I don’t think this will matter that much because while it is technically some variety of simultaneous move game, who presses the button doesn’t matter because everyone has an equal chance of being randomly removed so you can’t improve your utility by determining whether or not to press it based on other people’s decisions. I also only model the game with three players because it is very long and making it longer was making my eyes hurt.
Basically a game tree is just like a model of all the different outcomes that could result from a player making a particular decision. The program that i was using actually told me i needed to pay to include more squares and i was like no. so this is as fancy as it’s going to get i had to remove the squares which told you when the command block moved and when the button moved but i think its still legible

After each player presses the button, I include a node that I’m calling a move by nature but it’s really The Button move. At the end of the game, there is an implied move by the command block and I included a box with the possible utilities for each player, with the top number being player 1, and the last being player 3.
I solved this game using backward induction, meaning that I started at the bottom of the game tree where the last player is moving, calculated the expected utility of each branch, and then highlighted the branch that would get the last player the highest utility.
Expected utility is the amount of utility, in this case money, that you could receive times the probability you would receive it. In the last branches this means that the expected utility of not pressing the button is 20(½) because you have a one in two chance of receiving twenty dollars. The other branch, where you do press the button, you have a one hundred percent chance of winning 10 dollars, but you have a ½ chance of being removed from the game. So your expected utility of pressing the button is 10(½)=5, which is less than if you had not pressed the button.
There are two “moves” by “nature”, which in our case are the move by the button and the move by the command block at the end of the game. One of these moves always happens, the move by nature where you are randomly selected or not selected to win (the command block). Then there is the move by The Button, where you are randomly selected to be removed. When the person decides to either press or not press The Button, they are presented with the utility of being entered into (100-n)/(100-(n-1)) different worlds where you stay in the game, multiplied by the chance of winning 1/100-n.
In other words:
The average payout to the remaining players stays the same throughout the game. There are always the right number of players and the right amount of money remaining such that the money divided by the number of players = 10. But every time the button is pressed there are more and more worlds where one player is ensured 0 dollars. For an individual player, pressing the button increases the number of times that they could be removed. The player prefers to stay in the game, because when they are removed by the button they get 0 dollars, but when they stay in the game they on average get ten dollars.
This is easy to understand if you think about the version of the game where only two players are left. The second to last player is given the option of receiving either the expected utility of pressing the button, or the expected utility of not pressing the button.
This is the part of the project where I ask the question any undergrad under the page limit good game theorist asks: What would we need to change about the game to make the real players actions logical?
No matter what we change the probability of removal to pressing the button will always result in a slightly lower expected utility because pressing the button will still introduce some possibility of removal. But what if we were bored? What if there’s a benefit to pressing the button? Let’s call attention a, and let’s just do the model for the two person game since we’re now positive that the two person game and the one hundred person game work out the same way.
This almost certainly will result in some button pressing equilibrium for some players, but let’s figure out a more specific value of a.
We already solved this earlier, but remember that the expected utility of pressing the button is 5 and expected utility of not pressing the button is 10:
What value would we need to add to 5 to make players indifferent?
5+a ≥ 10
a ≥ 5
With only a value of 5 dollars (or just utility), people get the same utility from pressing the button or not pressing the button. Pressing the button at the end of the game is the most punishing of any part of the game, because the probability of removal at this stage is higher than any previous stage.
It might be more accurate to call this something like excitement, because toward the end of the game Wilbur is already paying attention to both of the players. But it definitely means that the attention and risk taking required to get into the video at the beginning of the video isn’t very large. You just need to value being in the video at roughly five dollars, which clearly a lot of people did. The excitement of pressing the button then is in my opinion likely the reason the video played out the way that it did.
There you go. This took a while but honestly it wasn’t even that bad because this is only 7 pages long in word with the images and equations and it could have been even longer. I’m publishing this now knowing full well that my professor might want me to extend the game. I’ll let you know how I do.
TLDR; If you are an attention whore press the button otherwise don’t.

like it seemed cool and all but she would never try it bc. being lovey-dovey is weird.

once you decide to hold her hand, twizzly certainly won't let you go. turns out holding your hand is actually pretty nice!!
if you're fine with holding hands and being physically close to her, twizzly gummy will be very happy!!
however, if you want to put some (physical) distance between you and her— even just one or two inches,, she'll probably yell at you to come back and to NOT leave her side.
just,, don't.
so, hum. being "friends" with twizzly cookie can be kinda draining. you can't talk to anyone else, you can't get too far from her, and she's always talking about violence.
if you wanna stop talking to her, and thus, ending this really terrible relationship, this time, she will threaten you.

unlike other yanderes, when twizzly gummy cookie threatens you, she actually means it. if you try to like, run away from her, you'll just have a few hours alone before she catches you, and then. everything you've always known is gone forever.
while you and twizzly go into another universe, probably way way different from this one, all your friends, the cookies you've always known— they're gone.
twiz' won't even take her very much evil gang with her. it's just you and her, now.
she'll probably try to find another place for you two, preferably an empty universe, void of anyone.
that pretty much counts as kidnapping i think.

oh yeah and if you, like a dumbass, try to escape again, she'll have no problem destroying this universe too.
so in short, twizzly gummy cookie is an extremely dangerous yandere to have. she'll literally destroy an entire universe just so she can be with you. she doesn't really care about your feelings, as long as she has you with her, she's fine.

This makes me nervous, but I’m going to post it. I’m going to try my best to achieve my goals. I’ve put in a ton of work already, so I’m looking for additional help.

My name is Trey Briggs, and I'm a black woman who writes paranormal horror, speculative fiction, and other types of fiction.

My stories are aimed at black people who want to read dark stories that focus on original black characters that are complex and interesting.
I genuinely believe Black audiences deserve a variety of genres to delve into, and I want to introduce them to paranormal horror, dark romance, and fantasy that they haven't gotten enough of in the past. I also believe that this can be done across multiple mediums, and I spend my money with black creative professionals to make these experiences extend beyond my words.
For the last two years, I've run my stories on sites and Instagram to great reception. I like to craft complex experiences that offer looks at character backgrounds, side and backstories, full websites for each title, and more. I also provide encyclopedias, maps, audio journals, and other ways to get into each world.
During these last few years, I've run into a lot of walls, jumped a lot of hurdles, and tried my best. I've worked with amazing black artists, voice actors, and actresses, musicians, designers, and more. I trust my ability to run a project, especially when it comes to planning and finding talent.
My overall goal is to run a team of black creatives that crafts novels, graphic novels, audio experiences, and animated series for a dedicated audience.
Why I Need Help
Long story short: I have the skill, I have the marketing/website building/business experience, and I have the drive. There's a lot I can do on my own, but there's also a lot that gets left behind because I don't have the money I need to proceed at a steady pace.
I need help with funding so I can focus, hire the right people, and craft these stories the way they deserve to be crafted.
I have thus far spent over $60,000 of my own money on my projects over the past two years - the writing and site-building are easy for me; the rest has to be hired out. I have art, site costs for hosting, domains, templates, specific plugins, and maintenance, audio (and vocal artists to pay), musical, and editing costs.
I'm by no means rich or even particularly financially stable. I have taken on tons of extra clients for my digital marketing business, transcribed hundreds of hours of audio for dirt cheap, and taken out personal loans. I even worked a second full-time job along with my full-time business last year to afford to produce the content I love. It's starting to take a toll on my mental health.
I plan on continuing to fund these projects out of pocket (and finding ways to do so), but having financial help, however big or small, would allow me to move a lot faster and with less stress. It would let me flesh out ideas and concepts that I have had to scrap because I can only physically handle so much extra work.
I run a full-time marketing business from home, homeschool my autistic 10-year-old, and generally have a busy life. Some of the strain is taking a toll on me, and I don't want to give up. Having some financial backing could allow me to drop a client or two after a few months and focus on the work I love to do.
How You Can Help
I mainly need a start—a sort of base.
I want to emphasize that I plan to continue to provide the main bulk of funding for my projects. I know my goals are ambitious, and I know each step will take time and money. I welcome any help to make the process smoother and to get around the initial hurdles. I'd like to have ebooks and novels offered on my site by the end of the year (along with the free serials and stories).
Funding means that I can broaden the projects, include more free aspects to my sites, and secure direct financing through sales of ebooks and audiobooks sooner. It also means that I can offer MORE stories, whether they are online only or fully fleshed out novels and sites.
I am swamped with trying to work enough to cover all my bills and creative projects, so I lose a lot of time I could spend plotting and writing. If I have better funding, I can get my stories out quicker (and with fewer mistakes).
The Initial Stories
Let's talk about my stories! If you're familiar with my work already, you can skip to the next section.

Currently, I have two big titles and a bunch of smaller ones that I am seeking help with funding:
Astrid the Devil
Astrid the Devil is the complicated story of a girl who inherits not only her family's features and DNA, but their fears, struggles, and fights. It's the story of a condition called Devil Syndrome, the women who suffer it, and the monsters that devour them. It's the story of the fight to save the people you love at the expense of innocent lives.
At its core, Astrid the Devil is the story of a woman who inherits the chaos of three generations before her. It's a look at what is truly passed down to our children, and how they're left to fight our battles in the aftermath of our failures. It's the tale of an indescribable monster and the women who struggle to defeat it. It's a journey into how their every decision could save or destroy an entire world.
Astrid the Devil is the story of Astrid Snow, but her story can't be told without the story of the women before her.
Vicious: On MaybeTrey and The Vicious site (in progress)
Somewhere, a war is brewing. That's the only thing that's for sure to Junnie Gorton, a young horned girl suffering from a debilitating disease called Horn Rot. She typically dealt with her low survival rate and abnormally large horns by escaping the world with her best friend, Lewish. Now she's forced to figure out which side is which, save her entire species, and find out the truth behind the sudden uprising in her home.
Horn Rot, a highly contagious and violent disease spreading through horned people, is causing mass amounts of madness and death. Normal horns grow in ways that will pierce, suffocate, and maim their owners, and the only one who can stop it is Junnie's mother, Lyria. As Lyria falls deeper and deeper into an anti-social revolt, the country reels. While Junnie broods, her entire species must prepare for mass extinction. Her brother plots with a group of people with less than good intentions and Lewish is quieter than usual.
In a civilization brought up on extreme violence and competition, Junnie and Lewish try their best not to get swallowed by their culture, their lives, or their horns.
Bunni and Bosque :
Bunni lives. Bosque dies.
We all know how this story starts.
Bunni is obsessed with destruction and death. She comes from the healthiest Horned family in her country. She's from the oldest, purest bloodline in the world. And she's bored with it.
Bunni spends most of her time trying to escape her duties as a pureblood. She wants things dirty, messy, foul, inconsistent. Having parents that are willing to kill to keep their bloodline pure is annoying. Knowing that she'll live a long, full life, produce more perfect children, and die unscathed is agonizing.
Bunni wants something to mourn.
We all know how this story ends.
Bosque is destined to die an agonizing death, alone on his family's land. He's watched everyone he loved and grew up with perish. Sometimes it was because of their disease. Sometimes it was because of the malice and hatred of others.
While he's absolutely withdrawn and satisfied with his life, Bosque has never had a chance to live it. He spends his days basking in the sun, bathing in wood baths, and contemplating the end.
Bosque isn't interested in joining the rest of the world. He'd rather die out, alone, where his family belonged.
Bosque wants to go peacefully.
But neither expected to meet each other one day in a supermarket. Neither expected to fall in love, lust, and every vicious and dirty thing between. Neither expected to be so right for each other, all while being wrong for everyone else.
You know the end of this story. Bunni lives, Bosque dies.
But maybe something will change.

The Business Plan
The initial phase of my business plan is to get the sites populated with ebooks and audiobooks for sale. I also have prints that can be sold. Right now, I am in the audience-building phase while I save up for editing the full novels.
In terms of an actual business with which to publish the stories, I already have a registered publication company in Illinois: Wolfless Studios LLC. I took this step earlier this year with plans to self-publish Astrid and Vicious. So that is paid for and done.
I have also gotten initial editing done on the first six chapters of Astrid, though it will need to be edited from the beginning again once everything is said and done. I've spent over $1000 on that so far, and it would go a lot faster if I didn't need to save up to edit each chapter.
Astrid the Devil is fully plotted, outlined, and only needs the last three chapters. Bunni and Bosque and Vicious are newer, but plotted and already deep into character development (all being shared across social and Wattpad for audience growth). Aite and Jude and other shorts are plotted, and three other unshared stories are plotted and at the editing phase.

Rating the Books I read after Gideon the Ninth (in order) by how well they made me forget my Gideon the Ninth angst
I starred the ones that I actually recommend if you want something similar to gtn.
I was bored so I made this. Mostly just so I can look back at this and laugh at myself in a few months and remember what I’ve read.

**Harrow the Ninth -Tamsyn Muir
Summary: A depressed girl has to navigate murder attempts by both the mom and the dad of her dead ex-girlfriend who she can’t remember. She tries to make soup and writes fanfic to cope.
How well it helped me forget: -100/10 but also 10/10
Rating explanation: This one gets a 10/10 because it did make me feel better about a *particular* GTN plotpoint which I was very angsty about, but tragically it did make me more feral. After reading it I reread both books so I don’t think it helped me forget my angst.
Similar themes to GTN: all of it, plus more memes
I Want to Be Where The Normal People Are - Rachel Bloom
Summary: Rachel Bloom who wrote the world’s most relatable song: “You Stupid Bitch,” and starred/created in Crazy Ex Girlfriend, writes about having anxiety, feeling like she’s not normal, and Harry Potter fanfic.
How well it helped me forget: 8/10
Rating explanation: For a few minutes I actually did forget about my griddlehark angst while I learned more about Bloom’s life and laughed at the painful relatability of it all.

Fingersmith - Sarah Waters
Summary: The book The Handmaiden was based on. A girl is sent to become a Lady’s handmaiden to con her out of some money. She falls in love. Many plot twists.
How well it helped me forget: 5/10
Rating explanation: I was sadly still thinking about TLT the whole time I read this. I liked it but I actually like the Handmaiden better because the women spend more time together. Like in this book, I wish that Harrow and Gideon could spend more time together.
Similar themes: wlw enemies to lovers, at some point you realize the main character’s love interest understands what’s going on way more than the main character
Kindred - Octavia Butler
Summary: Very dark book about slave narratives. I cannot make a joke here, but this book is excellent.
How well it helped me forget: 10/10
Rating explanation: Again, I can’t make a joke. But Octavia Butler is amazing.
Ash - Malinda Lo
Summary: A wlw retelling of Cinderella with fairies and an emphasis on stories

Rating explanation: This was really quick and fun and I definitely was rooting for the lesbians. Also it was nice it had a happy ending! If you liked Crier’s War (which I did), this was clearly an influence for Nina Varela.

Station Eleven - Emily St. John Mandel
Summary: A deadly pandemic wipes out so many people that the world spins into chaos and no one can figure out how to use electricity apparently? But the book is really about fame and wanting to be remembered. Go figure.
How well it helped me forget: -10/10
Rating explanation: Ok that’s not fair. It helped me forget about Gideon and Harrow but it did NOT help me forget about Corona. It was technically good and a lot of people I respect love it, but either because I was still thinking about TLT or because it was about a pandemic, I couldn’t really enjoy it.

Red, White & Royal Blue - Casey McQuiston
Summary: The Prince of England and The son of the president of the US are enemies. They are definitely enemies.
How well it helped me forget: 6/10
Rating explanation: This was such a fun read that it almost distracted me! Tragically I was in such TLT headspace that I kept pausing to read fanfics where Gideon and Harrow switch eyes.

Troubling Love - Elena Ferrante
Summary: In true Elena Ferrante fashion, an event spurs an Italian woman to do a lot of internal processing and have some flashbacks.
How well it helped me forget: 7/10
Rating explanation: This book was a bit disturbing so it distracted me in that way. Plus I love Elena Ferrante’s writing so much that it felt like coming home to an old friend. Unfortunately for me, this is Elena Ferrante’s least queer book. I know because I have now read them all. Her most queer book, The Lying Life of Adults, would have distracted me better. Also just using this space to tell anyone who’s still reading this (probably no one) to go read My Brilliant Friend (and the corresponding Neopolitan Novels). They are not similar to TLT except they are vaguely queer and about competitive friendships where the girls are obsessed with each other in maybe an unhealthy way. Ok so a bit similar. Genuinely my favorite books ever.

On This Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous -Ocean Vuong
Summary: A Vietnamese immigrant reflects on his mother, grandmother, and his own life experience in the US. It is poetic and beautiful and will make you cry.

Rating explanation: This book is beautiful. It really changes how you think about the US. Plus really interesting stuff about the western way of telling stories. Cannot recommend it enough, though very little to do with TLT.

**The Priory of the Orange Tree - Samantha Shannon
Summary: OK sorry none of those were good suggestions for what to read after GTN. THIS is what you should read after GTN. It is an incredibly slow burn wlw enemies to lovers. There are dragons, there is magic, there are very cool female characters who I am in love with. This is like Game of Thrones but if it was good, queer, and only one 800 page book.
How well it helped me forget: 10/10
Rating explanation: Enemies to lovers!!!! What more do I have to say? Also very cool world-building, interesting religious themes.

*The Traitor Baru Cormorant
Summary: Baru is a very smart girl in a colonized island. She decides she will play the game of the colonizers, rise up in their society, and destroy them from within. How is that going, Baru?
How well it helped me forget: 100/10
Rating explanation: This DID make me forget TLT. The only book to truly make me. It made me forget so badly that I wanted my Griddlehark angst BACK. GIVE ME IT BACK I don’t wanna feel sad about Baru anymore. I cannot recommend it more, it is so good, but it did make me ugly cry. It also made me majorly depressed about colonization and the state of the world.

*The Monster Baru Cormorant - Seth Dickinson
Summary: Baru is depressed, has brain damage, throws up a lot, is sad about (redacted), does some things without remembering them because there’s something going on in her brain. Sound familiar? It’s kinda like Harrow the Ninth but more depressing. Oh also a lot of new characters are introduced, old characters come back, a lot of setup for the next book. Euler’s identity shows up out of nowhere?!
How well it helped me forget: 10/10
Rating explanation: Again, it made me forget but only because I was so engrossed in this story. Also kinda depressed. This book is kinda depressing. But Baru is very fun to be around, and there are some other great characters. Marry me, Yawa.
Similar themes: again, this is just harrow the ninth on steroids, I am in love with every single woman in this series
*The Tyrant Baru Cormorant - Seth Dickinson
Summary: Baru makes a new bestie, reunites with an old bestie, and discovers a dead bestie in her brain!
How well it helped me forget: 1000/10
Rating explanation: I loved this book. There were a few scenes I reread >four times. This book makes the other books in the series worth it.

*The Ninth House - Leigh Bardugo
Summary: A girl has seen ghosts her whole life and because of that, gets accepted at Yale even though she didn’t finish high school. Yale is like a hotspot for ghosts I guess. It’s dark academia, the girl has a secret, the narrator is pretty funny.
How well it helped me forget: 6/10
Rating explanation: I was trying to get distracted from TLT (and Baru at this point), but it’s hard to forget about Harrow and Gideon in a book called The Ninth House (hello?). It was enjoyable and there was some good humor. I’m curious about the next book in the series when it comes out. It is not wlw unless you squint (which I do).
Similar themes: debatably wlw body posession, nine houses, the ninth one being important, nerd boy who reminds me of pal, woman is revealed to be MUCH older than I originally thought, soul eating, revenants, tombs, necromancy, character named Mercy
The Bone Season - Samantha Shannon
Summary: It’s the future and London is a hotspot for clairvoyants. Paige is a woman who has a special gift and can jump into people’s bodies and possess them briefly (among other things, this is a terrible explanation). Because of this, she is sent to a secret part of the city where clairvoyants are trained to be monster fighters (but also like, kept there in captivity against their will). Unlike every other book on this list I honestly wouldn’t recommend. I know there are other books in the series. If you’ve read on and it gets better let me know. (I know no one has gotten this far reading this but still)
How well it helped me forget: 4/10
Rating explanation: This one was disappointing because I loved Priory of the Orange Tree so much. This book did not distract me from my griddlehark or barhu feels. There’s also a character named Warden so I thought about SexPal a lot.

****The Unspoken Name - A.K. Larkwood
Summary: A girl is in an isolated cult that wants her to die as a sacrifice (sound familiar?). A definitely not evil wizard helps her escape. She meets a cute necromancer who’s also kinda from a cult. She goes on some gay adventures, gets the help of a morally grey older necromancer (who I’m in love with), and fights with her frenemy.
How well it helped me forget: 10/10
Rating explanation: This is the most similar to TLT on this list. Gideon and Csorwe would be friends. Seriously I recommend this! And the second book comes out soon! And it’s not sad like TLT or Baru!

The Invisible Life of Addie Larue - V. E. Schwab
Summary: Adeline Larue made a deal with a demon in 1714 France, because she wanted to see the world and stuff. It backfires of course. She is immortal but no one remembers her. This causes all sorts of problems and makes her very angsty. The narrative flashes between her going through the years, and her falling in love with the only person who will remember her.
How well it helped me forget: 2/10
Rating explanation: I know people loved this book but I did not. I liked the last 50 pages, I’ll give it that. I wish it was more queer (it was a little queer).
Similar themes: as I said, a little wlw, immortality, demons, I guess falling in love with someone and them not remembering you now that I think about it
Sula - Toni Morrison
Summary: A story about two black women in the 1920’s-1960’s in an Ohio town. It is really great and interesting. It is a book about complicated female friendships (among so many other things that better writers not writing a list no one will read about their TLT feels have outlined) which I love. I was told I should read this after the Neapolitan Novels by Elena Ferrante and it did not disappoint. Same vibes.
How well it helped me forget: 10/10

Summary: Muderbot is an artificial construct who just wants to be left alone to watch tv, damnit! It doesn’t want to interact with humans, and it definitely does not want to talk about feelings. Too bad some humans want to become friends with it.

Rating explanation: These books were so good. They did help me forget! The books are really about having anxiety, making friends, and letting yourself have feelings. Also they are SO FUNNY. Highly recommend. In the way that I love Gideon’s POV, I love Murderbot’s POV

*A Memory Called Empire - Arkady Martine
Summary: Mahit is sent a dangerous, evil empire to be an ambassador. Lots of beautiful writing about colonialism, assimilation, language, and culture.There is gay angst and funny characters. I am once again in love with a morally grey older woman character.
How well it helped me forget: 10/10
Rating explanation: Yes this book is great and did distract me from gtn (mostly. I did end up reading a great fanfic about wake, g1deon, and pyrrah in the middle but otherwise...). It is part of my holy trilogy of wlw books (this, baru, tlt) that I just read recently. The next book comes out on March 2nd so it will be a good distraction from waiting for Alecto. Like Baru, it made me feel like shit about colonialism but unlike the other two books in my trilogy (redacted but if you’ve read those books you know) didn’t happen. It had a not too sad ending.

*The Luminous Dead - Cailtin Starling 9/10
Summary: A woman needs money and to get the money she goes on a risky cave dive. It turns out the only contact she has with the rest of the world is a woman who’s kinda a dick. It’s 400 pages of creepy cave diving and these two women talking to each other. It’s creepy and uncomfortable and I loved it. I did spend the whole book thinking it would be such a good story podcast.
How well it helped me forget: 10/10
Rating explanation: It did make me forget about tlt! There are some kinda boring parts but it pays off. The relationship between the two main characters is very interesting (though a bit fucked up).
