ned's breads & the lemonade (& josh)
ned's breads - pieces of creativity that sustains tyler along his 'journey' (album-writing process). he's got to hold on to that creativity during periods of depression (dark, windy rainy scenes). in the end though, it has been damaged by his struggles and he inevitably runs out, forcing tyler to 'backslide to where he's started from'.
ned is, quite literally, what makes tyler a 'breadwinner', echoing ned being his 'papermaker' in chlorine.
the chlorine references are continued with the lemonade which tyler drinks out of a plastic goblet: lemons, being characteristically sour, suggest that this process of channeling his creativity can be unpleasant or even painful (i'm not telling you anything new). lemonades also represent the cliche of 'when life gives you lemons...', reiterating the fact that tyler's inspiration often comes from his struggles with depression.
& josh? josh is a constant, the one who patiently waits no matter what, the icing on the cake except it's the meat in the burger and that changes everything—you cannot have a burger without the meat. he completes what tyler brings to the table (no pun intended). he is the last stop: home.

Parallels DMC3 - DMC5
The first four pictures are about Vergil pushing Dante away. In DMC3 he even threatens Dante with Yamato, but in DMC5 he doesn't try that hard, he just gives his brother one last chance to turn back. In DMC3 Dante is kind of processing everything (this is how I see his silence) and doesn't get the chance to say something; in DMC5, instead, he had enought time to think (like two decades) and he's 100% sure of what he wants to amend. Since DMC3 we can see the instant regret in Dante's face the moment Vergil falls. In my point of view, Dante does in DMC5 what he feels he should have done in DMC3: Stay by his brother's side.
The next two are about Nero taking Dante's place. Is now Nero who helplessly watches how the family he's just found (and the remaining one), leaves. His fear it's similar to Dante's (in DMC3), he doesn't know if he'll see them again but, unlike Dante (who thinks that Vergil is aproaching to a certain death), he knows for sure that they'll be alright. I believe that Dante's last words to Nero were of comfort, that he somehow kept in mind when he was in Nero's place and wanted to free the boy from the same thing he felt. I believe that Vergil had that in mind too when he promises his return to Nero (in his own special/weird way).
The next two are about the selfless/violent sacrifice. In DMC3 Vergil's attitude (cutting Dante's hand with Yamato) is not just about pushing Dante away, but a way to free his brother from him, to letting him move on and have a life too (that's my interpretation, not a fact btw, like almost everything in this post). It's the same when Nero is punched/knocked back because, in theory, he can go with them too and I don't think the world is gonna end for that, but they know (especially Dante) he has a life and bounds that ties him to the human world. That punch is about making it easy for Nero to let them go.
The last two pictures don't need much explanation. It's again about Dante doing what he thinks he should have done. He regrets letting Vergil go alone to the Underworld, so this time is him the first one to jump and making sure Vergil doesn't run off on his own this time. After all, they're meant to be together; in Visions of V it's reaffirmed. Both brothers stop fighting against it.
I probably didn't say everything I had planned, but this is a good summary. Sorry if there are mistakes, I wrote this from my cell phone and it seems that my autocorrect has a mind of its own.

Brennan is setting up the Bad Kids to get angry.
We've seen new anger mechanics (Riz and Kristen both rolling related to anger, one saving throw, and one advantage due to embracing it). He's also been asking leading questions ("How does that make Kristen feel?" "So angry.") and I can't help but wonder why.
Brennan is intentionally piling on stress. He's making it so each kid has more than they can handle and eventually will break. It's not an if, but a when. These schedules and tasks aren't sustainable and Brennan is doing that intentionally. He's even created a perfect anti-party for the kids to rile them up- because there's no way the Rat Grinders are the Big Bad. They're introduced as an annoyance- as something to frustrate the Bad Kids. He's forcing the Bad Kids to face anger.
Why?
And how is this related to the Big Bad of the season? (because it must be)

When did Mr plant stopped wanting to kill Argos and fall in love with him?
In the first episode, Argos visits Mr plant's house 2 tell him about his dna results. The narrator tells us that "Mr plant doesn't care much for them, but even introverts need company once in a while". And also Mr plant fantasised about killing Argos probably because he's annoying. This suggests that Mr plant most likely didn't like Argos, but only tolerate him cuz he didn't have any other friends.
Tumblr media
His feelings for Argos start to SLIGHTY change in the moon guy episode where Argos gives him a star. He now thinks that Argos might not be as bad as he think, but he still doesn't like him. This is implied cuz he rejected Argos' invitation 2 go stargaze and killed the kids he was supposed 2 babysit for Argos.
Tumblr media
His feelings for Argos start to get conflicted in the episode where he gets a job. This is the point where he starts to actually appreciate Argos a bit. This is because of this guy who calls him says that he's lonely n asking his help 2 make a friend. This make Mr plant realise that he's lucky to have someone who cares about him (Argos). The fact that he's starting 2 appreciate Argos is reinforced in the fact that he willingly visits Argos' void 2 watch TV with him. This is probably the first time he's ever done that, cuz like Argos was so surprised when he showed up in his void, meaning he didn't expect him 2 visit him.
Tumblr media
Mr plant starts to treat Argos as an actual 'friend'. Making these star thingys for him on Christmas, listening 2 his rant about the present head guy, and even helping him clean up the murder.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then finally, in the Valentines day episode, he gives Argos a heart and they officially become boyfriends. But he still wasn't very sure abt it. This is suggested because he wasn't planning 2 give Argos a heart, he only happened to do that cuz he killed the valentine heart shop manager guy. And also when Argos asked him if this meant that they were "more than friends", he shrugged instead of nodding. This shows that he's kinda uncertain.
Tumblr media
Anyways so the episodes after this one shows that Mr plant's feelings of Argos isn't conflicted anymore, and now is actually sure that he loves him.
Soooo yeah this is how his feelings towards Argos changed and developed throughout the series! :D

My personal conspiracy theory is that Melkor actually wanted Fëanor to be captured, not killed, so he can continue to be creepy and obsessed with him. Unfortunately for him, Mairon was so pissed that his lover came back with burned hands, an entire army chasing him and drooling over someone else and their smith work (and jealous too) that he secretly bribed the Balrogs into killing Fëanor instead, and then they all pretended it was an "accident" and they "tried so hard", but he "wouldn't cooperate" and "just randomly died"

Theories?

She's a future companion who the Doctor hasn't met yet
She older Ruby? (Maybe a bit silly, but it crossed my mind so I had to include it)
She works for/is the Master (I don't know about you, but this picture is kinda terrifying)
She's somehow linked to the mystery behind Ruby's ancestory? (Probably need to expand this one)
Please reblog with your own theories!

You know how everyone was freaking out about the scene of Charlie crying at Angels door? I think I know what happened
Tumblr media
I have a feeling that word got around of how the meeting in Heaven went, and Angel Dust learned that if redemption was possible, he should’ve already been redeemed by now
I think Angels still in his room, he just wants to stay far away from trying any new ways to be redeemed now that he thinks it was all for nothing

My thoughts in regards to the rabbit on the new season poster: Tu’er Shen is a Chinese deity known as The Rabbit God. He’s the god of love and sex between men. Ed wanted to go to China, and we’re getting Chinese pirates this season. So maybe the rabbit is an allusion to Tu’er Shen and Chinese culture (and also Ed being gay).

A lot of people are theorising that it will be revealed that Ashlyn was imagining all her friends and that she made it all up, and as interesting as that could be I honestly would be so disappointed if that was the case…
No offence of course to Red or the people theorising, I just personally think it would be kinda anti climactic and upsetting as a reveal.
Also my English teachers #1 rule is “never end a story with ‘I woke up and it was all a dream’” and I feel like that’s border lining on that as it would mean all the things they went through together, the deaths, the feelings, none of it was real, it was all in her head.
I also just don’t really think it’s actually canon for many reasons. For example, we see quite a bit of other people perspectives where Ashlyn is not present, also the whole Aiden having feelings for her thing. If she was imagining Aiden’s feelings I feel like she would probably be more accepting of them, where as she tends to be unsure of the way he acts.
This is just my opinions I love hearing theories pls don’t attack me😭🙏

I noticed something in the new FF7 Rebirth trailer
Sephiroth reveals the nature of Jenova and her ability but why?
Sephiroth never even revealed Jenova like this in the OG as a part of his plan, so why is he doing this? Isn't revealing her nature the last thing Sephiroth wanted to do?
Here's what I think is happening, Sephiroth is being forced to work against Cloud. He traveled back in time, still tethered to Jenova, hoping to stop her and save the planet from whatever destiny it's tethered to (yet it also has consequences as we see in the alternative timeline)
Sephiroth is doing this of his own will
Yet he's still shackled to Jenova, so he needs Cloud's help in order to break free from her, but Jenova is taking advantage of Cloud's shattered mental state and false persona, so it's like a godly game of tug a war.
I think the Sephiroth who's manipulating Cloud and trying to convince him that Tifa isn't real is the past version of him from the OG, while the real Sephiroth, the one who we've been following all along, is trying to break free from destiny's grasp, stop Jenova and save the planet.
I could be wrong, and this is just a retelling of the OG, but I don't buy that one bit, especially when both the developers and part of the story say otherwise. Anyways, that's what I grabbed from this scene.

Childhood Headcanons
These particular, sort of apocryphal headcanons (depends on who believes what after all) provide further context for the brothers' childhood under the constraints of my canon-divergent fic, "When Lightning Falls," that was proved wrong by canon after the release of Fall.
There's also an accompanying Creation Theory I made up, to provide context for the fic, which becomes especially relevant here.
And, if anyone's wondering, this post has been around for far too long—I just never posted it some while after the fic itself was done. I have a lot of stuff on backlog anyway, and figured I may as well edit and post this.
Note:
Most of these thoughts focus on Rafal, and there is a slightly dark undercurrent that runs throughout this post.
First, the brothers were originally foundlings, like in the fairy tales of yore.
Fittingly, they have been the youngest and the oldest beings ever to live at the School, at different points in time.
At first, they led a deathly existence, an insecure, unstable one, with potential death at every turn.
Rafal became used to death threats, and being called "demon spawn." He hardened in response. Ever townspeople tried to ward him off, but their feeble sigils did no good, did no true harm against him and his latent sorcery, even whilst he was still learning magic.
They were found, possibly, doddering around in the Woods, on the outskirts of the School, at somewhere from three to five years old? So, they conveniently have little to no memory of their existence beforehand, as vagrants, outcasts, rejects, waifs, who knows—they were alone in the world.
The twins crashed through the brambles, clothes torn, faces scratched, scrapes on their limbs, drenched by the rain, just... waiting to be taken in like strays, as if they simply... appeared.
Rhian trailed after Rafal who forged a path ahead, until they emerged in the light of a clearing, as if guided by the hand of fate, to the School for Good and Evil.
Shortly after their discovery, they became the youngest students to ever attend the school.
Of course, taking them in was the Good thing to do, but perhaps, if we let conspiracy run rampant, the Storian had a hand in the proceedings.
Oddly enough, the Pen just might have brainwashed all the faculty to come to the unanimous agreement of raising the brothers as their own, among the lot of them. How odd that they agreed for once, the one time in decades that Good and Evil have agreed on any matter.
It was probably done for the greater fate of the Woods, the way they were all swayed by the Storian, nearly unconsciously.
And so, they came to terms with the new status quo because there seemed to be something behind this decision of the Pen's, that was greater than they could ever know, or so they believed.
They accepted it. They didn't question it because it was so obviously the Storian's doing. Controlling their minds that had already been made for them. No chance to decide for themselves.
But, they let the Storian handle it, handed over all control to the Storian. Because, no one, not even the highest ranking sorcerer or fairy godmother of either School, or lord or lady could have taken issue with what the Storian did. No one went against it. No one could. Contradicting it would have been a death wish just waiting to happen.
And they all knew that. They knew that very well, considering the nature of the tales they taught.
Eventually, they came to the common conclusion that these children must have been their future School Masters.
Thus, they took the Storian's apparent decision to heart because it wasn't their place to step in.
No one could overrule the Pen, so they lived with it, and continued to train the mysterious, foundling brothers—while they worried for their lives and all that was to come.
That particular set of faculty became a little like the brothers' parents, until they died off, one by one, each from old age or the occupational hazards of working at such a School.
Their professional lives were demanding and they didn't pay as much attention to the brothers as they should have.
All they could do was follow through and hope the Pen had charted the right course, that it chose well in the end.
Even if they would never live to see the future, they were aware they had played a monumental role in securing safety and balance for the Woods, by acting as these children's first, human influences.
"When Lightning Falls" takes place around three years after the brothers' arrival, when they're about seven, so they've had time to have grown used to the schools.
Everything has become a bit mundane to them. There's nothing new because it's all they've ever known and grown up with, unlike the incoming students' experience of the manor every four years.
So, they've never been around peers their own age, which led to Rhian feeling special and becoming fragile with no challengers and to Rafal gaining a massive superiority complex.
During those years is when Rafal starts on his skepticism, early in life.
Rafal starts to question the Pen, and ask why of everything and everyone that can possibly answer him, or that would answer him if he persisted and probed enough, and didn't relent. And he threatens his way to the answers, to get his way, to figure out what makes everything in this world of theirs tick.
It's the only way he knows, to bribe or exchange, even unethically, or to beat and to hassle information out of others, to trap them in their own bedchambers or offices and not release them until they answered him or fulfilled his demands.
He learned the word "leverage" early on, and the Evil faculty thought he was a prodigy.
He doesn't know any other way because the Never faculty took him in first, claimed him as one of their own. They took a liking to him and his silence, over his crybaby brother.
Predictably, the Never faculty were rough around the edges and they never showed displays of pleading and begging, so Rafal never did that, even as a child.
He never learned the art of apologizing either. Everyone was remiss to let that pass by... but it was too late.
He refused to resort to such means as begging, to lower himself in that way, like Rhian would, even at such a young age, because he wasn't taught mercy. He was told kindness was a weakness and that justice was right. And so, even as a young child, he maintained an adult-like level of dignity in how he conducted himself, always.
Meanwhile, he'd look on at his brother, and wonder: why is he acting so childishly? Having Evil imposed on him forced Rafal to grow up sooner, before his time.
Evil taught him never to whine and whinge, to never cry to get his way. He could already get his way, by other, more sinister means. Cleverer, more artful, more guileful means besides, and in doing so, he could still feel superior, boosting his ego, inflating it and inflating it as a result.
So, that was what he'd grown up around. It was the natural way of things, to him.
At least, this is how children ought to be treated in his eyes, simple as that. And he turned out fine, didn't he? Of course he did. No question about it. He's him, and he's great. The best. Superior to all others, everyone else in his school.
He probably considered himself the smartest little boy alive, not necessarily the most knowledgeable, but the most clever or capable of outwitting others, of negotiating deals, and plotting schemes and doing other, crooked deeds. He thought himself smart in that artful sense, skilled to the point that he could outfox adults over twice his age, outdoing the teenage students in everything he did.
Oh, and if certain knowledge were established as forbidden? Rafal would still try all the more diligently to go after it. That's how he contended with all things.
And what of Rhian? To Rafal, Rhian was naive. Secretly, Rafal never considered Rhian his match. No way, no how. That brother of his couldn't tell Good from Evil in the simplest of challenges.
The Evil faculty were decently well-meaning, thinking Rafal would be good villain material, but again, they weren't exactly attentive or warm or caring like Good's faculty was in "parenting" Rhian.
They weren't neglectful either, but still, Rafal was left to his own devices outside of lessons, and he grew accustomed to being alone when Rhian wasn't around to play with him. Not that he really played that frequently.
Thus, time passed, and the staff believed the twins to be foundlings. That they were adopted, taken in under their wings. Children of the School.
In reality, the twins were children of the Storian.
Everyone knowingly buys into the lie because they didn't want to think beyond the present. They wanted to believe the brothers were of woman-born, abandoned, and insignificant. But, the truth could only be delayed, not buried.
The brothers are foundlings, they all said, persistently. That's what most of the faculty believed, and that's what the brothers were led to think.
Yet, a select few knew their actual purpose of existence: the brothers were not being trained up to follow the Rules of fairy tales themselves—they were being trained up to rule. (Or rather, "rule" as figureheads for the greater Pen.)
They were bound to the School grounds, and only a few people, none in living memory, knew they belonged to the Storian...
Any thoughts anyone?

Time for a random headcanon thing!
At this point, it's widely accepted/practically canon that Diane was the breadwinner & Rick was the stay at home parent. So he would have spent the most time with Beth.
Another widely agreed upon thing (though maybe less so than the first one) is that Rick, without all his cybernetics, is/would be kinda weak & wimpy, yes? There was a popular post about this a few months back, but sadly the account it was from deactivated, so I can't link it. 😔
Little kids bring home lots of germs from school. This is a fact even non-parents like myself are aware of. If you have friends with kids, you've definitely heard at least one of them say they thought they had a great immune system, then their kids started school. If you are a parent, perhaps you've said it. I'm assuming this is all the same in the RnM world, so.....
Put all these thoughts together and you get: Young Rick was definitely that one unfortunate parent who caught EVERY bug that went around little Beth's classroom. Even when Beth herself didn't.
Is this an important theory? Nope, not at all. But it made me go "awww", and I am sure that I'm right, so I figured I'd share.

That post break up interview where John says "I was trying to put 'round I was gay by going to all the gay clubs..."
Then the interviewer says, "I've only heard that about Paul lately..."
In which John responds, "Oh, I've had him. He's no good..."
But seriously. Does this keep anyone else up at night? You know when people joke, but there's actually truth to it?
You can show me a million photos and interviews, but this verbal tease is 100% the proof that Lennon & McCartney touched dicks.
That is all. Thanks for listening.

Janeway and Chakotay totally slept together in "Timeless"
The evidence:
Tumblr media
That is NOT platonic lighting.
And then she greets him with "I hope you've got an appetite" in that extra soft, sultry voice she only uses when she's alone with him
Then, in the same voice, "It's a special occasion"
She also mentions "After desert"—but at no point does she actually mention having made dessert!
And then… she walks over to him, touches him on the shoulder, and says…
Tumblr media
"Are you ready to try some home cooking?"
Like. Excuse me? I don't care how close we are, if someone I'm in a platonic relationship with talks to me like that, I would assume it is no longer platonic.
But then! He puts down his PADD…
Tumblr media
And the very next shot! Is it still on her table, frosted over, 15 years later!
Tumblr media
HE DIDN'T LEAVE WITH IT THAT NIGHT
BECAUSE HE DIDN'T LEAVE AT ALL
They slept together, your honor😭

Some things noticed on a DFF rewatch
Just some things that stood out rewatching and chatting with folks!
Tumblr media
When we see the knife in the opening, someone puts it in a backpack. The bag is brown on top, and the front has red, a white strip and a star backed with blue
Tumblr media
This is the same backpack Non wears in the past. So is this just part of the clip show or is it giving us a hint? Will Non use the knife in the past and it's reappeared in the present because they're re-enacting things in a way? Or does this mean Non is involved in the present?
Tumblr media
In this post I discussed how Keng the math teacher is not so great at teaching math (via my roommate's math expertise). The answer 1/7 isn't correct, and it's something an online math tool can solve pretty easily so perhaps this is intentional.
Tumblr media
Tee's jacket has 0.17 on it. So between our bad math and this, are the numbers 1 and 7 important? If so are they more symbolic or plot relevant (I'm guessing the former)? 1 and 7 do add up to 8...
Tumblr media
Everyone is accounted for when Top and Tee first see Masky in the woods (everyone else is helping Por) and when Por initially gets chased. However, after Top is attacked in the bathroom Tan and Fluke aren't around. Fluke is with Por, White, and Phi before they hear the commotion. But Phi just says Tan went up stairs to sleep a while ago.
Does this mean Tan was the one attacking Top? If so, he can't be doing it alone since other times everyone is accounted for. Like some other folks have theorized, if it's not supernatural (still not ruling that out) it's likely there's a 9th person involved. Does Tan attack inside the house while our 9th person mostly operates outside?
Tumblr media
If we go with the theory that there's hallucinations happening, there's a lot of ways the boys could've gotten them in their systems. Smoke, in their drinks, in the food or water. In the same closet that White finds the knife, he looks at this bottle. To me it looks like a liquid medicine prescription bottle. Liquid would be very easy to mix into things. Then again, perhaps it's Non's and in the past they hid it from him or something.
Tumblr media
One more theory about the hallucinations. What if it has to do with sound. From a cursory search it does seem that there's some research showing that some infrasound can cause hallucinations and some argue this might be one explanation for why people feel they're being haunted. From what I found (again very cursory research), infrasound can be heard if it's sufficiently loud. I doubt it would be recorded or sound like what they heard from the recording here in real life. But it's possible we could have a fictionalized take on this here.
Tumblr media
Why was the knife left so in the open? Yes it was in a closet but it still seems very staged. Similarly, why cut Por? My first thought is that the person chasing Por didn't plan to impale him. And of course that could just look like an accident. The knife cuts make sure the group knows there's the possibility of someone physically attacking Por. The knife then shows up at the point where Top and Tee are convinced it must be supernatural. It kind of seems like someone wants them to know it's a real person. And of course Phi is also very insistent on this.
Could this mean that Phi's plan was to have them know it was a person? Or does is it just to make them even more panicked and confused? If the former is the case, the hallucinations and/or supernatural appearances aren't in the plan. That could mean that someone or something else is doing things and perhaps working at cross purposes from Phi (still trying to harm them but not how Phi wants to or planned for)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the start of episode 1, Por tells the Janta story and says that his Dad told him it. But in episode 5 it seems like Non comes up with the idea. So is this Por claiming credit again? If so that could mean that the cult doesn't actually exist and just was an idea Non put in the script that Por is playing on. On the other hand, Non could've done his research knowing they wanted to film at Por's vacation home. So does/did the cult exist or not? Or at the very least did the stories of Janta and the cult exist and were they attached to the area around Por's cabin before they did this film?
Tumblr media
Mr Math has on his desk which I believe is of Pythagoras. Now according to my math nerd of a roommate, Pythagoras also started a cult called Pythagoreanism. It's quite the stretch, and I imagine the production just put the photo there to show he is into math, but what if Keng is related to the cult (if it really exists)? I think we're getting into clown connections here, but it's fun to speculate. Especially since it's entirely possible that what Jin saw in the temple was an alive Keng. If Keng is part of the cult perhaps they're aiding Non and/or Phi for some reason 🤡
Alrighty just some thoughts for now fellow DFFers! It's fun to pitch theories, both the more grounded and the much less substantiated 😆
