First Time Cuddling w/ Liu Kang
Pairing: Liu Kang x reader
Summary: just what the title says👍🏽
Warnings: none
A/n: something to post while I try to figure out how I'm gonna write Raiden in this hc list
Tumblr media
The silence that fell over the room was comfortable despite Liu Kang's slightly shocked expression. He wasn't shocked that you had never cuddled before; it was the fact that that meant no one had wanted to cuddle you before, which didn't register in his brain.
The silence had gone on too long, and seeing you were becoming uncomfortable, Liu Kang finally spoke. "Would you like to try with me?"
Your brain froze at Liu Kang's question. As always, his voice was so steady, offering a true suggestion. No judgement in sight. Although you wanted to say yes, you really weren't used to things like this. Honestly, you were scared.
"There's no pressure," he spoke again. "If you don't want—"
"I do," you cut in a bit too fast, "We can cuddle." You slowed yourself down, lowering your voice.
A small smile curled onto Liu Kang's face as he stepped forward, taking you by the hands. After sweetly kissing each of your fingertips, Liu Kang gazed into your eyes, running his thumbs over your knuckles. With each movement of his, you could feel yourself relaxing.
"Do you have any positions in mind?" He asked softly. "I could spoon you, we could face each other, or..."
Liu Kang finished, but you actually had an idea in your head for some time. "Can I lay on top of you?"
Liu Kang's face lit up as if he liked the idea as much as you did. Nodding with a smile, he led you over to the bed.
You laid on Liu Kang's bare chest with his arms wrapped around you. The only word you could use to describe his embrace was loving. His hands rested on you so gently, and his fingers traced your skin with such interest and innocence. With your cheek pressed to his chest, you could feel Liu Kang's warmth. As you heard his steady heartbeat and felt the rise and fall of his chest with each breath, you felt in tune with him. It was as if he were hypnotizing you into a deep relaxation. However, you got a bit too lost. As if you lost control of your body, you suddenly found yourself sighing against Liu Kang and your eyes fluttering shut. Quickly, however, you got a hold of yourself and hoped he didn't notice you trying to melt into him.
There was a small sympathetic smile on Liu Kang's face that you didn't see. You were still overthinking this.
Suddenly, you felt Liu Kang's lips press into the top of your head as his arms squeezed tighter around you.
"My light," he spoke softly. "Don't be embarrassed, I like seeing you relaxed against me."
That evening, you cuddled for the first time, and you couldn't think of a better first than Liu Kang. As he held you tight against him, tracing slow patterns into your skin, you fell asleep against Liu Kang's rising and falling chest to the steady sound of his heart.

Mistakes
Pairing: Johnny Cage x fem!reader
Summary: you screwed up trying to do something nice for Johnny
Warnings: none
A/n: is the event of this fic a real thing that happened to me an hour ago?? Now that's silly what makes you ask that!!
Tumblr media
This was not happening.
Johnny had been working longer days on set, and you wanted to surprise him by cooking his favorite meal tonight, but... You had to run back out for one thing, and you were in such a hurry that you didn't think about the pot on the stove that was still on. By the time you got back, the whole kitchen was filled with smoke.
Mad wasn't the right word for the emotion you felt. Once you got the windows and back door open you couldn't believe you let this happen. You could cook better than that, but your common sense must have run away without your knowledge. Johnny's surprise was ruined, and you spent the evening out on the porch hating yourself.
Eventually, you heard keys jingle in the garage door and panicked. What were you going to tell Johnny about the state of the kitchen? The smoke had mostly cleared, so you ran into the kitchen. Your mouth was open, but you couldn't think of anything to explain yourself. Johnny turned the corner to see you looking frightened in the still slightly smoky kitchen.
"Oh my God, baby, are you okay?" His first reaction was concern as he grabbed hold of your arms.
You stood there stammering for a moment before finally coming clean. "You've been stressed out over the longer shoots, so I wanted to make your favorite, but we didn't have an ingredient, so I went back out, but I forgot to turn off the stove because I was rushing, and when I came back—"
Both of you were surprised Johnny managed to catch all of that; your words came out at lightning speed as you tried to blink back tears. As he started to rub up and down your arms, you brought your hands to cover your face, failing to hold back your tears.
"I'm sorry, I just wanted to surprise you."
Johnny frowned and started to shush you as he pried your hands from your face, "Hey, buttercup, it's okay. Y'know, I've set actual fires in here before." He laughed but could hardly get a smile out of you, and you still wouldn't look at him.
Grabbing your hands, Johnny placed a kiss on your forehead. Then, he cleared his throat, making you focus on him.
"Tell you what, pretty mama. You, me, a dinner date at Madam Bo's, and we both forget about this whole thing."
Johnny and his impressions were no match for your sad face. You just wanted to hate yourself in peace, but he'd never have that. You couldn't stop the laugh he knew he'd get from you; Johnny's face lit back up as well.
"There's that pretty smile."
"I've never been asked out by Johnny Bravo."
"Few are lucky," Johnny was still doing the voice. "Is that a yes?"
Slowly, you nodded, holding Johnny's hands back. "Yes."
Johnny's voice went back to normal as he started leading you to the car. "Good, now let's get you out of this smoke."

Dating Johnny Cage Would Include
Pairing: Johnny Cage (mk1) x reader
Summary: hcs about dating our favorite movie star
Warnings: none
A/N: I've got so many Johnny ideas running around this head
Tumblr media
Alright let's cut to the chase
This man's love language is gift giving
Jewelry, clothing, shoes he's buying it all for you
You know in Iron Man 3 when Tony bought the giant Christmas bunny for Pepper? Yeah expect something like that from time to time
But he's also very sentimental and will buy you things he knows you love/will make you happy
That book you've been talking about reading all year? He'll surprise you with it on a random Tuesday just to see you smile
And don't be a collector or something
You like mugs? Funko pops? Magic the Gathering?? He's the sole sponsor of your collection
His net worth may be in the millions but nothing he owns is worth more than pure joy on your face
Speaking of your face he's constantly trying to get you on the screen
Whether you think you have talent or not Johnny just wants your perfect being captured on film
"C'mon, doll, I found auditions for a lead in a rom-com. You'd steal hearts on the big screen!"
Lord knows you've already stolen his
The man's a huge kid and nerd at heart so if you're also a movie buff he'll be on cloud nine
He hasn't had many people to talk to about the magic of entertainment since his mom when he was younger
The two of you would lose track of time talking about the good, the bad, and the cheesy of movie history
This also means he will talk and flirt with you almost exclusively in movie quotes
And if at any point you start thinking they're cheesy he'll switch it up with an expression bc he knows they always make you laugh
While he is silly, nerdy, and impulsive Johnny also values quality time with you
He wouldn't trade his job for anything in the world but sometimes it's a lot
Sometimes he just needs a movie night you
Nothing but the two of you cuddled on the couch, a bottle of wine, and the entire Star Wars saga
He could never thank you enough for supporting him and in turn he fully supports you in all of your passions
Imposter syndrome and insecurity are not allowed in the house
For every flaw you see in your work he will list 10 things he loves about it
"I know it's hard not to feel like this, but even when you can't believe in yourself, I'll always be your cheerleader."
Where's his favorite place to kiss you? Where isn't
It all depends on which part of you looks most kissable at any given moment
He'll kiss your lips, cheek, forehead. He'll even kiss your stomach totally unprompted.
Got freckles or beauty spots? He's abt to become a problem
In his eyes, you're walking cinema that he can touch, taste, and love. He wouldn't miss a second of you.
Bottom line: Johnny's happiness in life is bringing joy to the world and you're no exception
The smiles of millions of his fans at Cage Con is only equal to one of yours

Coming Home Injured
Pairing: Liu Kang, Kenshi, Johnny Cage, Raiden, Sub Zero, Scorpion, Smoke, Reptile x fem!reader (separately)
Summary: returning from a mission with a few bad injuries
Warnings: Canon typical violence, some descriptions of bad wounds
A/N: let's see if I can make personalized pet names for each of them without them being cringe. Feedback encouraged. Also if we're gonna keep writing for all 8 of these guys at once it's gonna take a minute for me to post so sorry abt that but more mk1 content is coming
Liu Kang
Tumblr media
The two of you sat in silence from the moment you returned home. You had completed the mission, but only by an inch of your life. The image of Liu Kang's concerned face, before you fainted in his arms, was still clear in your head.
Liu Kang assessed your injuries before treating them, trying not to be alarmed by the long, deep gash cut from your side into your abdomen. All the while, that look on his face never faded. You had seen Liu Kang when he was concerned many times, but this was different. That crease between his brows was deeper for some reason. As his hands shook, uncharacteristically, while he cleaned your wound, you finally identified the expression. It was the same one you saw when Kenshi lost his sight on the mission to capture Shang Tsung.
"Darling," your voice was weak as you looked down at him.
Immediately, Liu Kang's eyes shot up at you. With his worry growing, he placed a hand on your thigh.
"My light, please do not exert yourself."
Slowly, your hand took hold of his. Your grip was so weak that Liu Kang could hardly bear it. Instead, he took your hand in his and kissed your knuckles. You felt a shuddering breath against your skin as he pulled away.
"Don't you think you're a bit too concerned?" You asked.
With deep regret, Liu Kang bowed his head, not able to look at what he'd done to you.
"You shouldn't have returned this injured," his low voice started to break. "I shouldn't have—"
You stopped him before he could say another thing, "Lift your head," you told him.
Liu Kang looked up at you, slowly, his breaths still heavy and unsteady.
"You used your judgment as well as you could, and I fulfilled your orders. I came back to you."
Starting to calm, Liu Kang nodded in understanding.
"Not every round of Kombat is easy, but I'll be okay."
Upon seeing your reassuring smile, Liu Kang's breathing finally steadied, and his grip on your hand started to soften.
Kenshi
Tumblr media
You winced in pain as Kenshi finished a stitch on a rather brutal injury. If he hadn't gotten to you sooner, the blood loss would have killed you. What you did lose on your staggering trek back home already made you lightheaded. Kenshi insisted on you resting; he made you something to eat and made sure you were drinking water. As you laid on the couch, resting yourself after a tough mission, Kenshi was rubbing your feet. You noticed his clenched jaw and the tight line his lips formed. Part of you wished you could sit up and hold his face, but you didn't want to risk popping a stitch while it was still fresh.
"What's on your mind, Kenshi?"
He turned toward your voice before trying to dismiss you with a shake of his head. "Nothing, my flower. Please try to rest."
"Don't say 'nothing' when it's clearly something, love."
You didn't say anything else, still too out of it to try and coax anything else from him. Thankfully, he wasn't going to make you do the work.
"I should've been there," He said quietly. "If I were there to protect you, you this wouldn't have happened."
Kenshi was such a gentleman, your very own knight in shining armor, but he often piled too much on his plate without noticing. He did know he didn't have to save you every time, didn't he?
A lazy smile graced your face, "Honey, I'm fine." You told him.
"You aren't fine—"
You interrupted, "I'll be fine," you said slowly. "You've patched my wounds, forced food and water down my throat, and you're even keeping me company here and rubbing my feet. You've saved me already, my hero."
Kenshi sighed as your words put him at ease, silently accepting that you were right.
"Besides," you continued. "I'm a big girl; I can handle myself. You should ask Sento to show you the other guy."
As Kenshi started to chuckle, you wore a proud smile before feeling yourself fall asleep on the couch.
Johnny Cage
Tumblr media
Johnny was all over the place. While you held onto your side on the couch, he searched the area frantically for God knows what. All you could hear was his half-rambled sentences around.
"Johnny." You tried to get his attention.
He stopped for just a second just to point a finger at you. "Hey, don't move over there. I just gotta..."
As he left again, you let your head fall back, sighing in pain.
"I'm calling Liu Kang." You said.
Something in the kitchen clattered as Johnny shouted. "No, don't call him; I've got this!"
"I've been bleeding on our couch for five minutes!"
Sighing, Johnny came back again and looked at you. In any other circumstance, it would be cute how frantic he was over you. Unfortunately, however, your life was at stake and he was running around the house like the Roadrunner. Finally, Johnny finished assessing your injuries.
"Water," he snapped his fingers. "I'll get you some water."
"Johnny!" You stopped him before he could take off again.
In Johnny's defense, he was very worried. It was written all over his face. As you sighed, you spoke to him very carefully.
"I keep a first aid kit in the bathroom cabinet."
With many understanding nods, Johnny seemed to calm down before heading to the bathroom.
"First aid kit," he said to himself. "Why didn't I think of that?"
Raiden
Tumblr media
You didn't know how you were still alive, and if it weren't for Raiden, you'd surely be dead. Once you got through the portal, you tried to make it home to him, but Raiden ended up finding you collapsed on the academy grounds as blood quickly made a pool around your stomach. When you came to, the only sensation you could make out was Raiden's feet striking the ground as he ran with you in his arms. You must have managed to say something because you saw his eyes meet yours before darkness obstructed your vision again
The next time you woke you were somewhere indoors. A bright yellow light blinded you before your eyes could adjust. You felt Raiden squeeze your hand as your head turned.
"You're awake." He gasped.
All you could muster was a faint smile. That searing pain from the gash that opened your stomach still wasn't gone.
"Not for long." You said weakly.
Raiden's face became worried as he inched closer to you from his chair at your side.
"I must keep you awake," he said almost as a plea to you. "I've taken you to the medics, and they said if you wake I couldn't let you close your eyes again."
You whined with a frown. "It hurts, Raiden."
Raiden brought his free hand on top of yours, trying to comfort you with small rubs.
"I know, but I am here. I've got you."
As you looked at Raiden, the pain seemed to lessen. Everything felt warmer as long as you focused on him.
"I bet Shao thought he killed me." You said.
A bright smile appeared on Raiden's face at your decision to stay with him. "He is in for a surprise the next time you meet."
Sub Zero
Tumblr media
You were a victim of Bi-Han's cold frustration. Honestly, it agitated you more than the searing pain caused by the cleaning of the open wound across your side.
From the moment you came back to him, limping through the front door with the last of your strength, he didn't utter a sound. You remained in awkward silence as he had you sit on the kitchen counter with your back straight while he patched you up.
As he stitched you up, Bi-Han was moving at a harsh pace. It wouldn't harm your wound, but it was almost more painful than the wound itself. Bi-Han was aware of the sharp breaths you sucked in and pained gasps, but they were no deterrent to quickness.
"Bi-Han," you finally snapped at him.
With a cocked eyebrow, Bi-Han stepped back, eyeing you with such an icy glare and that scowl you thought wasn't welcome in your home.
Your eyes searched his face, hoping to find your lover buried beneath that avalanche, "You're hurting me." You said.
A scoff came from Bi-Han as he attempted to work on you once again. "This can't hurt nearly as bad as your other injuries."
You wouldn't let him come back to you, however, pushing him back with the palm of your hand. "Well, it isn't exactly helping."
Bi-Han folded his arms over his chest. "Do you expect me to coddle you?"
"Some sympathy wouldn't hurt." You spat back.
In disbelief, Bi-Han came back to you, forcing himself into your view. "You want my sympathy for the consequences of your reckless actions? My assistance is enough comfort."
He readied the needle for the next stitch, but before he could jam another hole into you, you took the needle out of his hand.
You didn't look at him as you spoke. "I would rather help myself."
After staring at you for a moment, Bi-Han walked away with a grunt. However, even as he started to leave, your wincing continued. You tried to finish the stitching yourself, but the wound was in such a place that you couldn't reach it without straining the rest of your body. Not to mention aggravating the wound itself.
Bi-Han couldn't bear to watch and listen to you struggle. You were only hurting yourself more. Casting his face down for a moment, Bi-Han exhaled before returning to your side.
Before you could begin another stitch, you felt a cold hand stop the needle.
"The stitching will be ineffective this way."
That growl had left Bi-Han's voice, and his face softened, save the deep crease between his brows. Although his gaze would not meet yours, you gave the needle back to Bi-Han, feeling in the air that his anger had dissipated. As he went to work once again, he was much more gentle, and his work didn't hurt nearly as much. Still, he was very quiet. It was clear he wasn't angry with you anymore, but something still troubled him.
Once the stitch was finished, Bi-Han went to tend to your smaller injuries, remaining so quiet and drawn away from you. As he went to clean a cut on your cheek his eyes remained fixated on the wound, not once glancing towards you. Becoming concerned for him, you stopped him with a gentle hand on his arm.
"Bi-Han," you began turning to face him, but his face turned away. "Will you look at me, sweetheart?"
He couldn't; he was ashamed to do so. Although he should have had better control over himself, Bi-Han lost his temper with you.
"I was worried," he said, his face finally falling. "Seeing you come home in this state concerned me. I'm sorry I let it contort into anger."
With a small smile, you took the side of Bi-Han's face in your hand, fixing it towards you. It melted him a bit to see your face. Even after how he had acted, you still smiled at him.
"I knew of your anger long before we got together," you said. "And while it can be frustrating, that doesn't mean I'm not willing to work through it as long as you are."
Bi-Han leaned into your touch, sighing as he let his eyes close. "Just promise you'll act more carefully on future missions."

Kuai Liang tended to the large gash across the length of the back. The wound was deep and wide, he could hardly fathom how this had happened to you. However, his focus remained on bandaging you before it suffered any infection. Kuai Liang worked gently as he secured the bandages around you, but you dreaded turning back to him. Once you did, you turned away quickly from his gentle face, eager to get away from where his eyes gazed. Confused by this, he stopped you, taking a soft but firm hold of your arm.
"You should let me help with getting you ready for bed. I don't want you exhausting yourself, precious."
You huffed, but couldn't lose your temper with Kuai Liang's warm eyes gazing at you. Still, you snatched your arm back, turning your back to him again.
"I can manage, Kuai Liang." Your tone wasn't exactly angry but somber instead, bringing a confused expression to Kuai Liang's face.
He started to catch up to you again, "Your injuries are very serious, Y/N." He said as a word of caution.
As your jaw clenched, you quickly turned back to Kuai Liang, your tone more serious now. "And I said I can manage."
Suddenly, a sharp pain radiated through your shoulder, causing you to wince and grab at it. You turned too fast. Kuai Liang placed a hand on your shoulder, generating the softest heat to ease the pain.
"Beloved, what is wrong," He said with concern as he turned back in front of you. "It can't just be your injuries making you this upset."
With a soft sigh, you started to break your frustration, letting the sadness you truly felt manifest in your face, "Aren't you disappointed?" You looked up at him.
Kuai Liang's brows furrowed in confusion. Your expression was so sad and apologetic. How could you think he was disappointed?
"In you," he asked in disbelief. "Of course not, precious. Why would I be?"
Gesturing to yourself, you let out a shuddering breath, "Look at me," your voice began to break. "This is no state for a champion to be in after Kombat,"
Kuai Liang felt his heart break; he knew you always held yourself to a status that kept you worthy of the mantle that was Earthrealm's champion, but he hated to see you acting this harshly towards yourself.
As tears started forming in your eyes, you continued. "You and your brothers fight to bring honor to your clan's name; you persist no matter the challenge. How can I be a champion when I haven't done the same for Earthrealm?"
You faced the floor as tears streamed down your cheek, but Kuai Liang wouldn't let you shut yourself out from him again. Lifting your head with his index finger, Kuai Liang started wiping your tears as his hands cradled your face.
"Beloved," his voice was soft as he spoke to you. "You accepted your challenge and fought with all you had. Honor isn't about winning but fighting valiantly in the name of your clan. By engaging in Kombat for the glory of Earthrealm and its champions, you have brought honor. For that, I am proud of you as I always am."
As your tears slowed, Kuai Liang gazed into your eyes with a nod of understanding. Once you nodded back, he planted a kiss on top of your head.
Smoke
Tumblr media
Tomas hadn't left your side since you returned home last night, and though he tried his best to conceal it, you could feel how worried he was. All of your wounds were patched up, and you were starting to feel better, but he still insisted on doing every little thing for you. It was sweet; you knew how much he cared for his loved ones, especially you, but he did know you'd be okay, right?
By the time you had woken up, Tomas was in the shower, and you were starving. It wasn't going to strain you to cook breakfast, so that's what you went to do.
You had just begun cooking when Tomas came out of the shower. When he returned to your bedroom and found the bed to be empty, he froze in fear. Frantically, he hurried around the house, looking for you. It didn't take him long to reach the kitchen where you were cooking at the stove.
"What are you doing out of bed, my love?"
You turned to see Tomas' concerned face. Smiling, in hopes you would put him at ease, you gestured to the pan of bacon on the stove.
"Cooking," you answered him. "I'm hungry; I bet you are too."
With a small frown, Tomas sighed softly as he leaned against the island, "I could've handled this." He said.
As you turned back to the stove, you nodded. "Yes, but you were in the shower. Besides, I felt like cooking."
You could hear Tomas grumbling behind you as he came closer. Suddenly, he put his hand on top of yours, trying to take the pan from you.
"I'd much prefer it if you stayed in bed, my love."
Tightening your grip, you looked back at him. "I've been in bed since yesterday evening, let me cook us breakfast."
By this point, Tomas didn't know what to do other than pout disapprovingly, but you weren't going to have it.
"Tomas," you called him. "Look at me."
With a sigh, he listened, backing up to eye you before you explained your instruction.
"I'm doing better. It's not like I'm going to fall over at the stove."
He tried to interrupt, "You don't—" But you silenced him with a hand on the center of his chest.
You continued softly. "Go sit down and wait for your food."
The two of you shared a brief look before you closed your eyes, waiting for him to kiss you. Once he did, you opened your eyes to Tomas walking to sit at the table.

You hissed as Syzoth finished a stitch on your shoulder.
"I know it hurts, but we're almost done." He tried to calm you.
Usually, you tried to fight him when he patched you up, but you came home in pretty rough shape. The only complaining you could manage was in the form of winces and grunts. Syzoth never really minded, though. If anything you reminded him of his younger siblings when they'd hurt themselves playing.
"There," He said, putting the needle down. "You'll be fine in a few days."
As Syzoth looked at you with a soft face, you couldn't help feeling a small sense of shame.
"I'm sorry." You apologized, playing with your hands in your lap.
Syzoth tilted his head at you. "For what?"
"I can be so stubborn when you're only trying to help."
An incredulous slithering laugh started to leave Syzoth at your words, confusing you a bit. Putting your hands in his, Syzoth looked into your eyes.
"Firefly, I have faced much worse than you upset about getting a few stitches. As long as you're okay, you can bicker and grunt at me all you like."
Syzoth kissed you on the forehead before leading you to the bed.
"I never did ask how your opponent ended up." He looked over at you.
With a proud smile, you answered him. "Let's just say if I was injured the same, would have done more than bicker at you."

Mornings
Pairing: Liu Kang x fem! reader
Summary: waking up with Liu Kang
Warnings: none
A/N: guys the amount of homework I have to do today is unreal
Tumblr media
You and Liu Kang had been awake for for several minutes, but you stayed in bed in total silence. Spooning you, Liu Kang occasionally nuzzled into you, taking in the gentle scent of your beautiful soft skin. The sun's first light flooded through the window, shining on you just right.
Many responsibilities had been thrust onto Liu Kang, but at times like this in complete quiet, while your back rose and fell against him with each breath, it felt like he only recreated the universe for you and him. As Earthrealm's protector, Liu Kang always felt the need to shelter all of the realm's inhabitants. You were no exception, and where were you safer than here in his arms? So gentle, so beautiful, and, as he was lucky enough, all his. It was selfish for a man of his responsibilities to think that way, but he desired it nonetheless.
For the past few minutes, your fingertips traveled the length of Liu Kang's forearm. His eyes had been busy admiring the features of your face, but he wondered what the cause of such wonder in your eyes was. Following them, he found you traveling along the ink patterns on his arms.
"Tracing my tattoos again, dear," He smiled against your jaw before planting a sweet kiss. "I remember you combing your fingers through my hair until you fell asleep last night, as well. Not that I minded."
Reaching the end of one of the patterns, you smiled before bringing Liu Kang's hand to your lips and kissed his knuckles deeply.
"You're just such a marvelous man, darling," you sighed. "How could I not admire you?"
It was things like that that made his heart flutter. Suddenly, Liu Kang wrapped around you more tightly, and before you knew it, he was rolling the both of you over so that you laid on top of him. You laughed above him, in shock from the sudden movement. As the both of you settled, Liu Kang rested his hands on your lower back and part of your leg. You saw him gazing earnestly at you and your lips curled as you folded your arms on his chest to rest your head on.
"You make it very hard to leave this bed and tend to my duties, my light."
The lightest chuckle escaped your chest as you leaned in slowly to press a soft kiss on Liu Kang's lips. Smiling into it, his hands found resting places within your curves. You pulled back just the slightest, just enough so your lips were still brushing together.
"Go do your work, my darling," you gazed into his eyes. "Earthrealm needs its guardian."
Sad to leave you, Liu Kang sat up with a sigh, and you returned to your side of the bed. Before he left you for the time being, Liu Kang stared back at you on the bed before bringing a hand to grace the side of your face. His palm was rough and calloused from years of Kombat, but the grace and gentleness in his movements almost made it feel soft against your skin. Liu Kang leaned down for a final kiss, deep and passionate like an apology for leaving you. But you understood and kissed him back with reassurance. You would never hold a man's noble actions against him.

Puns
Pairing: smoke, scorpion, and sub zero x reader (separately)
Summary: telling bad puns about their powers to the Lin Kuei brothers
Warnings: none
A/N: so many thoughts about so many mk1 men
Smoke
Tumblr media
You had been waiting to see Tomas all day. Both of your duties in the Lin Kuei so frequently keep you apart, and finding each other at the end of the day is a delight. Sometimes, before going home, the two of you would simply take in the sights at the grounds. It was well into winter, and snow was falling over the palace. In complete silence, you and Tomas held each other in your arms. As time passed you heard him sigh and looked up to see Tomas blink slowly. Placing a hand on his chest, you smiled softly before resting your arms around his neck.
"The cold always did make you tired, my dear." You swayed slowly in his arms.
Tomas' hands found your hips as he gazed at you lovingly, and speaking so softly. "We should go home and warm up, my love."
Smiling, you moved closer to Tomas until your lips ghosted the shell of his ear. You felt him exhale slowly against your chest while he held you tighter.
"Yes," you whispered. "But we shouldn't let the heat be too intense tonight. You know where there's smoke, there's fire."
You felt Tomas hesitate against you, his hands still on top of your back. Pulling back slightly, with an innocent smile, you his face and the curious crease between his brows.
"Did you seriously just say that?" He gave an incredulous laugh.
"What?" You feigned the sincerity of your answer, but your doubly wide smile always gave you away.
You couldn't help laughing due to the look Tomas was giving you, and he soon joined you. Huddling together from the cold, you began walking home.
"Your puns continue to get more and more ridiculous, my love." Tomas looked at you.
You looked back at him, feeling a warmth spread through you at the sight of the crinkled in the corners of his eyes. Smilling, you nuzzled into him further.
"They make you smile."

Ten minutes. That was all the time you had to steal Kuai Liang from his duties at work, but he was wasting that precious time. The man couldn't be taken away from the reports he scanned with that furrowed brow of his. Behind him you whined.
"Kuai Liang," you pouted, throwing yourself over his strong back. "Did you forget this was our time?"
He didn't mean to keep you waiting, the mission reports were just giving him extra stress to process for some reason.
"I'm sorry, my precious. I won't make you wait much longer."
But he did. It wasn't really Kuai Liang's fault, he was hardly paying attention to the time. However, only five minutes remained, and you couldn't bear to wait until the end of the day to be with him again.
Kicking you feet boredly in the corner, and idea came into your head. Your lips curled as you sprang to your feet, approaching Kuai Liang from behind. Quietly, you stepped closer to him until you could throw your arms around his torso. It was more like a hug from behind at first.
"Kuai Liang," you called again in a sing-song voice.
You knew that act on its own wouldn't get him to budge, so you began tugging him towards you playfully. The final pull, however, had a bit more strength to it.
"Get over here!" You commanded with the faintest rumble in your voice.
Kuai Liang found himself stumbling back, forcing him to grab onto you for support. You were laughing to yourself as he quickly realized you had pulled another one of your schemes. Giving in, he let his body relax against yours.
"Are you mocking me?" He chuckled, bringing a warm hand to cup your cheek.
"Mocking you? Why, beloved, I'd never." You gasped dramatically before a fit of laughter gave you away.
Not wasting anymore time, you brought your hands to Kuai Liang's chest, lingering only for a moment before you pulled him by his armor. The distance between your faces was closed, and you could practically taste his ashen kisses on your lips.
"Come here." You tugged him, impersonating your lover once more.

Bi-Han was angry. Again. Although he would easily frighten most people with the frozen aura of his rage, he seemed to thaw whenever he lost his temper near you. Often you wondered if he was aware of it or not.
Although it was what he wanted, you wouldn't let Bi-Han find a quiet place for himself. The last thing he needed was to be alone to ponder his angered thoughts.
Quickly, you stood by Bi-Han as he stared out of your living room window with that signature scowl on his face, "Sweetheart, your brothers mean no harm." You said as softly as you could.
You had been trying to calm him for some time, but that seemed to do it. With a sharp sigh, Bi-Han finally started to relax, though still slightly upset. He turned away from the window, but did not look at you.
"It's just so frustrating when they don't realize what we could make the Lin Kuei."
Slowly now, you walked towards Bi-Han, carefully taking his hand in yours and placing the other on his chest. Finally, he looked at you, softening even more.
"Perhaps it would help all of you if you listened to them once in a while." You suggested.
Bi-Han broke your shared gaze once again, clearly against the idea. His hand started to grip yours, but you wouldn't let it, tracing slow circles on the back of his hand.
You smiled as you stared at the side of Bi-Han's face. "For a man able to wield ice, you do have such a fiery temper, my sweet."
Bi-Han halted as he registered your words. Then he looked back at you with such indifference in his face. Your lips twitched as you smiled, trying to hold back laughter. Taking his hand out of yours, Bi-Han turned, beginning to walk away from you.
"Puns at a time like this." He said more to himself than you.
Hopelessly, you tried to catch up with him, "Please, there's no need for the cold shoulder." You couldn't contain your laughter at that point.
Bi-Han kept walking, not even looking back at you. "I'm going to bed."

Nervous
Pairing: teen! gojo x black fem reader
Summary: gojo was a cocky son of a gun but for some reason that changed whenever you were around
A/N: I've got too much tumblr stuff I'm tryna juggle😞
Tumblr media
Geto just wanted a little one-on-one with Gojo, but that idiot was too occupied with staring at you as you finished stretching for combat training. He'd been going on like this for two weeks, if he wasn't staring at you, he was thinking about you and nothing else. Geto sighed as he threw the ball at Gojo. He didn't even have his infinity on.
"What the hell, man?" He grabbed his arm where the ball hit
Geto went to grab the ball himself, throwing shade as he passed Gojo.
"If you're not gonna focus at least find the balls to talk to her."
"The hell are you talking about?"
Geto held the ball at his side as he stood next to Gojo. "You stare at Y/N like she's a piece of meat."
Gojo scoffed, "No, I don't." He said as he watched your arms flex while you stretched them behind your back.
Next were hamstring stretches, Gojo watched your dark curls and toned legs for a moment until he realized you were doing toe touches. He finally looked at Geto.
"At least you're not a pervert." Geto walked off as he dribbled the ball, Gojo following behind.
"Shut up."
For a while, Gojo was actually focused. It was anyone's game as usual, both of them staying evenly matched. Gojo scored another point, but caught a glimpse of you sparring with Shoko. He tried to keep his head in the game, but that split second he caught of you felt like an eternity. Your strength was just so captivating, not to mention your beauty to match.
Gojo tried to handle his ball but missed his shot despite how close it was. Finally, the bell rang, and Geto sighed. Coming next to Gojo, he watched his best friend continue to stare at your backside.
"Tell her, Satoru," he said. "I hate winning because you aren't engaged."
There was no way he'd say it out loud, but there was no way Gojo could confess to you. He was intimidated by you. It was stupid that he was, you were so nice, but you were also so cool, so pretty, so strong. What could he possibly have to offer you? Sure, he wanted to be with you, but would you want to be with him?
"Hold on," Geto said, suddenly. "Are you scared to talk to her?"
The expression Gojo's face twisted into said no, but the blush over his cheeks proved otherwise.
"Huh! Of course not; she's just a girl."
"A girl you like," Geto added. "I'm not making fun of you, Satoru, but it's not like she'll rip your head off."
Gojo sighed, his gaze shyly returning back to you. "Yeah, but...who wouldn't be scared to talk to her. Have you seen her? She's..."
Geto nudged Gojo who was so lost in your image that he wasn't paying attention. "Coming this way."
Gojo's eyes widened; Geto was right. With a towel in hand, wiping the sweat from your glistening face and chest you approached them. No. You approached Gojo. He looked to Geto with his mouth hanging open, but he simply hit Gojo on the shoulder with a smile.
"See you in class, Satoru." Geto walked away.
Gojo was ready to kill Geto right in the gym, but he froze as you stopped right in front of him.
"Yo, Gojo."
He thought he'd melt right there at the sight of the towel draped over your shoulder and the small smile on your face.
"Y-yo, Y/N." He kicked himself for the way he stuttered, but thankfully, you didn't seem to notice.
Gojo was struggling to pay attention to your words, more focused on each of your muscles that flexed as you pulled your hair back in a ponytail.
"Could you spar with me next time," you asked. "Shoko says I've started to surpass her. I doubt I'll be able to keep up with you, but it's either you or Geto."
Gojo's brows rose at the humble laugh you gave. He had no idea what your strength levels were, but for all he knew the two of you could be on the same level. Was that why he liked you? No, it was because in spite of all that, you still lifted up those that were weak, by his standards. You looked after the innocent on missions and assisted your fellow sorcerers. You were everything Gojo wasn't. Gojo could feel himself blushing.
"You alright?" You tilted your head with concern as you noticed Gojo's flushed cheeks.
"Yeah!" Gojo said quickly, his voice cracking slightly. Swallowing that extra embarrassment, he cleared his throat and finally answered your question. "Yeah...I'll train with you."
A bright smile spread across your face, "Thank you," you beamed. "I've almost perfected my reverse cursed technique, and if I get it right I'll be able to help so many people."
Your compassion was astounding. Gojo had seen you obliterate curses without breaking a sweat, but they weren't even your main concern. It warmed something in him. Your passion was admirable, and that smile...he wanted to make you smile like that all the time.
You started to turn on your heels, waving goodbye to Gojo, "I guess I'll see you in class," you said. "Don't be late. You're still not back on Yaga sensei's good side."
Gojo wanted to move, but he was stuck in place as you started walking away. How long could he let this go on? Would he even be at his 'A' game when you started training? You were so many things he couldn't define, and he didn't even feel worthy enough to ask you out. Still, it was now or never. He either faced rejection now or let you figure it out after you beat him way too easily.
Gojo sighed before catching right as you opened the gym door, "Y/N," he called.
As you turned back, Gojo started to catch up with you. Before he knew it, he was right in front of you. Your beautiful dark eyes gazing softly at him was enough to want to make him chicken out, but there was not turning back now. After a moment of hesitation, Gojo spoke.
"After school, did you want to see that movie you've been talking about?" Despite his best efforts, Gojo couldn't look at you. He glanced around before struggling to meet your eyes.
You smiled again, softly and definitely catching on, "Zombie Catchers 3," you chuckled lightly. "But I thought you said zombie movies suck?"
Gojo bit the inside of his cheek. Not too long ago, you, him, Shoko, and Geto got into a debate over the best movie monsters. Gojo believed that aliens were undefeated.
"I did, but...you really like them."
You couldn't stop yourself from smiling. You didn't think Gojo would remember how you've been waiting for that movie to come out, but he did. Gojo remembered so many things about you. Even if they were things he disagreed with, they were your traits and quirks. They only made him fall harder for you.
It was your turn to get a little nervous and hesitate before you answered. "Then I guess it's a date."
You and Gojo shared a glance before you left the gym, and he followed not too far behind.

Tumblr media
Your eyes fluttered open to Hobie's arms still holding you tight, and as you woke up, you realized that you didn't want to do anything that day. Hobie's chest continued to rise and fall against your back as he slept, but away from his warmth, you could feel the cold air of your room on your face and shoulders. As the nights got colder, so did the early mornings.
With a groan that was almost whiny, you turned over to face Hobie and buried your face in his neck. Feeling you sigh against him, Hobie began to wake up. As he pulled you closer, Hobie rubbed his hand down the length of your back and kissed your cheek
After a moment of holding each other in silence, Hobie could tell you were starting to doze off again.
"Don't you have stuff to do today?" He asked.
You smiled against him with a content sigh. "It's cold, and I don't feel like it."
A small chuckle came from Hobie's chest as he let his eyes close.
"I could use another hour myself."

The Hands We're Dealt
Pairing: Cherokee bill x black fem reader
Summary: Bill wanders into your town just to see you
Warnings: angst and use of the n word
A/N: finally watched The Harder They Fall and I still can't resist a man played by my future husband
Tumblr media
It hadn't been your week recently. After all the years, the law was finally catching up to you and your gang. After all you sacrificed to build this town where your people could prosper, the man was finally coming to collect.
It started with the law responding just a bit too quick after your hits. That morning, a general of the U.S. army stepped into your town and gave the gang until next week to disperse before his men dealt with you themselves.
You sat with your brothers and sister that had been with you from the start. You would never surrender to the white man, but there was still only so much longer you could run. If there was one thing you hated, it was running, but even if you killed the whole fleet of troops the army sent, you'd never be safe in your town again. Your name would be all over the west.
Tina got your attention, the first to provide a solution instead of just talking about finding one.
"Law's not bad just two counties south from. We could set up there."
You waved your hand dismissively, reaching for the glass of whiskey on your desk.
"The further we run the further they'll spread. Do we keep runnin' til we're in the goddamn ocean?"
The room fell silent as defeat finally sunk into the air. At this rate, the only thing that could help you was a night in the saloon.
Suddenly, the call of a bird echoed into the night, and the corners of your mouth twitched. Everyone looked around curiously.
"That damn bird again."
"Where does it come from?"
They'd only hear it about once a week, but no one ever managed to see it. However, you knew exactly where to find that bird.
You stood from your chair, breaking the murmurs of confusion. "Y'all turn in; I'll deliberate overnight. Keep your senses sharp and your spirits high. I'll die before I let this town burn."
Everyone gave you a nod as they walked out. No matter how stern and sure you were, they all knew what was coming for them. In the empty room, you let out a heavy sigh before downing the rest of your drink.
Bill had waited a while at the back of your office building. Just as he was about to call again, you finally met him, walking slow as the distance closed between you.
"Cherokee Bill," you all but whispered. "In my town?"
A small smirk rested on his face as he leaned against the building. "I must've lost my way, ma'am."
You stared into each other's eyes for a moment before leaning into each other. Bill's hand rested on your hip as he kissed deep into you, hungry for you. You knew that kiss, and you knew the look in his eyes when you pulled away.
"How's Trudy?" You asked.
Bill shrugged. "Still Trudy."
"And Buck?"
"Do you really care?" Bill gave a dry chuckle
"No," you shook your head. "But I need somethin' to talk about, and I can't count on you for that."
Bill smiled as he crossed his arms. "I'm fine, by the way."
You mimicked him as an act of defiance. "I know you are; you better be."
"How are you?" Bill asked sincerely.
There were so many ways you could answer him, but what was Bill going to do about it? Even though you weren't fine, after those fifteen minutes he'd go back to his town and you'd go back in yours to fight your own battles.
"I'm fine," you said. "Need a favor though."
"Anything."
You stiffened a bit in front of Bill. Meeting like that was supposed to be a chance to unwind for the both of you, but you couldn't afford to not think of your work.
You looked up, staring Bill in the eye. "Next time Buck gets a score, make sure it ain't my fuckin' money."
Bill looked down and nodded slowly. A week ago, Buck's gang robbed a train whose company was in business with you, and Buck knew it. You hated how Buck pushed every other gang around like they weren't his people with his goals. He may have been big enough to get away with it, but you weren't going to let your buttons get pushed again.
Bill started to reach into his coat, "That's right," he pulled out two stacks of cash and held it out to you. "Here, it's my cut."
Just managing to hold back your scowl you lashed out at Bill. "I don't need your money, Bill."
"You just said it was yours." He went back at you in that exasperated tone that irritated you.
"And now it ain't," you couldn't yell and get caught with Bill in your town, but the intention came across crystal clear. "The last thing I need from you, Bill, is your pity."
Bill squeezed his eyes shut and faced up at the sky as a frustrated sigh left his lips.
"Take the money, Y/N," he stretched his hand further, his jaw visibly clenched. "You think I agreed with Rufus takin' that money from you. I'm just tryna make somethin' right."
Your face was stone as you huffed at Bill before snatching the money out of his hands, not waiting until later to count through it.
"What's the matter with you," he asked sincerely, scanning over you as if he'd find the answer in your features. "We're not in trouble, are we? I'd rather you step into Redwood and shoot me than let me ride all the way out here to chew my ear off."
As you put the money inside your own coat pocket, you dropped your shoulders. You were still livid, but you stopped directing it at Bill.
"Seventy grand, Bill. That's how much y'all took from me," you waved his finger at him. "I can't run my town off two grand and bank heists. I'm runnin' out of white folk to rob this far west."
Bill nodded in understanding as he brought a hand to your arm. "I know, baby, and I'm sorry."
His hand traveled the length of your arm, and your gaze finally softened. Seeing your curls in the moonlight, Bill brought his other hand to cup your cheek as he leaned in to kiss you once again.
You loved Bill more than anything. In a perfect world it would just be you two as outlaws together. But your hands were already dealt, and you had to see them through the end of the game.
With his hand snaked around your waist, Bill pulled you flush against his body; your hat fell to the ground as you put your arms around his neck. Softly, he pushed you against the wall as his hands and lips started to travel. As he started to push your coat off, he felt your hands on his chest.
"Bill," you called him, staring into those big brown eyes that you knew held your reflection inside. "The army's after me."
A worried crease put itself between Bill's brows. "The army."
"Yup," you said softly before picking your hat off the ground. "General gave us a week before he came back to shoot us niggas down himself. We're thinkin' of runnin'"
"To where?" Bill asked knowing the same thing you did.
"I don't know where, but..."
Bill called your name, and you knew by the look on his face exactly what he was about to say. Usually, he was only dumb enough to say it half drunk off his liquor or love for you.
"Don't you look at me like that, Bill."
As if he knew how stupid what he was thinking was he hesitated before speaking. "I want you to be safe; you and your folks."
You got angry again, stepping closer towards Bill. "And we'll find a way, but I am not moving to Redwood."
Bill just shook his head. "If I talk anymore, you'll shoot me."
"Then hold your tongue."
But he couldn't. Bill couldn't leave your town without trying everything in his power to keep you safe. He knew this ended with you dead, and so did you. For the past few years, a good part of his world lied with you, and he didn't know what he'd do if he lost it.
He said it anyway, talking fast so you didn't have long to act on your reactions. "We've got more men, more resources, and half the state's law work for us. You'd be safe in Redwood."
Bill was right; you were stuck between smacking him across the face or putting a bullet in his leg, but you stayed still with your hands balled in fists.
"Who the hell do you think you're talkin' to?"
"The woman I love—"
"Shut your mouth." The distance closed between you and Bill again, but this time the air around you turned threatening.
"I'll put a bullet in my own head before I work for Rufus Buck, stealin' from and killin' my own kin."
"Buck is building a promised land." Bill remained calm.
You spoke through clenched teeth. "He is building a dictatorship."
Bill looked away and put some distance between you two, "I don't wanna lose you, Y/N." Was all he said with a tired voice.
"But you don't ever think about what I'd lose," your words bit. "You want me to tell my gang that we'll follow the orders of the man who wronged us, and we were forced to wrong back? You ain't thick in the head, Bill."
Bill had nothing to say for himself. He thought it best just to let you talk yourself out.
"You said you didn't agree with Buck stealing from me, yet once we're done here, you'll go running back right to him."
"If I leave Rufus, I'll be on the run for the rest of my life."
"You think I can't protect you?" You cocked your head to the side.
"And what about the army," Bill started to lose his temper. "I want you in my life, Y/N. Since that shoot out in Odessa, all I've wanted is to see you next to me in the morning and take a ride out with you at night. I know how selfish I am to ask you this, but I don't care."
Your lips were in a tight line as a shuddering breath escaped you and tears pricked your eyes.
"You think I don't want the same? Sometimes all I can wonder is how easier things would be if you were here, but these are the hands we've been dealt. You make all this talk about choices, but don't ever make one yourself," you turned from Bill, starting back to your house. "Go on outta here before I shoot you dead."
As Bill watched you walk away, your dress flowing in the wind, he felt part of his spirit die. He didn't have to wait for you to get killed, he lost you all on his own. As he unhitched his horse from a tree nearby, all Bill could do was pray that you'd make a way out of this mess like you always seemed to before.

Being A Kawata Sister
Summary: imagine being the sister of out favorite demon twins
A/N: black fem reader and blasian angry and smiley
Tumblr media
The boys look out for each other and love each other dearly
That being said
They bicker nonstop at home
You can't count how many times nahoya snitched to you or you had to desperately stop souya from crying out of frustration after Smiley's been playing too much
Sometimes they even try to make you the judge in their squabbles but you have none of it
"Y/n, tell him he's being stupid!"
"Will yall quit it! Kill each other about it for all I care but leave me out of it."
They're big softies at home tho
They've trusted you with many secrets to take to your grave
Their fellow delinquents could never find out about the stuffed panda that angry sleeps with (or the times you and Smiley had to keep him from crying when he couldn't find it)
Not to mention the fact that Nahoya still sucks his thumb and cried at every movie
Yall could watch the funniest comedy where the lovers get together and the dog doesn't die and he'll still find something to sob over
When it comes to cooking they'd be dead without you
Souya overthings every step
While nahoya doesn't think enough
They both annoy you in that brotherly way
Nahoya will constantly poke you then insist he isn't doing anything when you get agitated
And souya will crash himself into you without warning
It's not all malicious he'll just want a hug or something but he knows being all up in your space at first will irritate you
You do their hair exclusively
Souya will have the decency to manage his own hair twice a week but nahoya treats you like a personal stylist
Them hardly being injured after a fight is only partly from them being that good
You hate it when they've been out all day and stumble back in the house all beat up
It only ever happened twice and that's because you held your tongue the first time
They felt so guilty for making you worried like that and swore they wouldn't fight so recklessly anymore
Being together brings all of you a lot of comfort
It always feels a bit empty between them when they're out with toman while you're back home
If they come home late and you're already in bed they might just jump in your bed
While you don't mind in theory, they both toss turn and kick like they fight demons at night
At the end of the day you love your brothers and they love you
But it'll always irritate you that you're the only who knows how annoying they are

Dating OJ Haywood Would Include
Pairing: OJ x black fem reader
Summary: things that come with dating our favorite cowboy
A/n: Daniel Kaluuya pls marry me
Tumblr media
He was probably real shy to ask you out at first
Emerald would tease him and say if he wasn't gonna ask you out then she would
However if you confessed first he'd be chill about it and very flattered as he accepted your affections
Love language is definitely quality time
A movie night snuggled together on the couch is his idea of a perfect date
Whether it's eating together or taking care of the horses during the day he's just glad whenever you're around him
He's also a great listener and could follow along your rambles and rants for hours
He can be a bit awkward with physical affection
Not that he doesn't like it he just overthinks it
But that usually doesn't happen if you're feeling particularly needy
He'll hold you for as long as you need
And when he is affectionate he holds you and kisses you like he needs you to survive
He's strong and silent but inside he's just all warm and fuzzy for you
And the longer yall date the more it starts to slip out
He likes being silly and messing around with you
Mostly so he can hear you laugh
Every once in a while he might hold something over your head and chuckle as you jump trying to reach it
He'll also realize that he loves making out with you
Holding you close to him and letting his hands wander as he comepletly loses himself in you
Best thing in the world to him
He'll flip through a few pet names before landing on one that's yours
Methinks it's "sugar"
At some point it replaces your actual name
He'll be talking to em or angel and all of sudden goes "I was talking to sugar the other day" like it's what your mother named you at birth
If you ever need comfort he's definitely a solution giver but gives the best hugs
If you're crying he'll have you sit on his lap and wipe your tears while he shushes you

Lean On Me
Pairing: hobie brown x fem reader
Summary: though you need a place to rest, you won't let yourself take it
A/N: ik we had a strong gojo streak (which is not over) but did you really think I could ever leave this man
Tumblr media
Hobie noticed that you were acting strange. He knew you. He knew the giggly, starry-eyed girl who put up with his antics. He knew the dancer, the singer; the nerd he fell in love with. So...where did she go? You had your bad days, or even weeks, but Hobie never saw you withdraw like this.
On his bed, you sat wearing his hoodie while Hobie played God of War. Usually, you put yourself in the game with him, yelling at NPCs or pointing out ways to beat a difficult section. But that time you sat silently, only responding with "I don't know" when Hobie looked to you for guidance.
Eventually, Hobie put the game down and joined you on the bed. He noticed how your eyes lingered on him, but there was a sadness behind them he couldn't quite place.
There was just one thing you wanted from Hobie. It was a hard week, and all you wanted was to rest in his arms; to feel peace for one moment. But that was silly, right? It wasn't his job to give you comfort.
"What's goin' on, babe?" Hobie's voice brought you back to reality.
Your eyes scanned over his arms before meeting his eyes; you could see the concern behind them, but you mustered a smile to ease him.
"Nothing," you lied. "I'm fine."
A frown formed on Hobie’s face. You knew he was smarter than that, but it was worth a shot.
"Baby," you felt guilty hearing the concern in his voice. "You've been actin' different lately. If there's somethin' wrong, I wanna help. It worries me a bit when you just shut me out."
Looking away, you bit your lip. You didn't want Hobie to feel bad.
"I'm sorry...I don't mean to." You apologized
Hobie was quick to reassure you. "It's a'right, just...talk to me, if you want."
You were too tired to talk. All of your thoughts ran together in your head, and you just wanted a break. Catching a glimpse of Hobie in your peripheral vision, you turned your whole head away, digging into your palms as you clenched your fists. You were almost shaking as you spoke, but you took in a deep breath, dropping your shoulders.
"Can you hold me?" You asked slowly.
Hobie tilted his head curiously with a low hum. Not wanting to let a silence hang in the air with your vulnerable state, he kept the conversation going.
"Of course," he said without hesitation. "C'mere."
It took some work to be able to look back at Hobie, but he just sat next to you with open arms and a calm face. Still, for whatever reason, you felt stuck where you were. It wasn't the first time you and Hobie cuddled, so he was a bit confused about why you looked so nervous. Deciding to take it slow, Hobie held out one of his hands for you to take. Slowly, you transitioned from your spot on the bed and into Hobie's lap. A small smile formed on his face, but you kept yours hidden. As his hand softly rubbed along your thigh, you could feel shame taking you over once again.
"There you go," Hobie let a brief pause hang in the air. "Was this what had you all upset?"
After you didn't answer, Hobie brought his hand to cup your cheek, turning your face towards him. His touch set you on fire; it took everything in you not to give right into it.
"I've held you a hundred times before. You know there's no need to be shy."
You still couldn't look at Hobie, and he started to notice that you never relaxed in his arms.
"Y/N, if you don't want this," he started. "Tell me, plea—"
"No," You blurted out, wincing at your own outburst, "it's just," finding the words was difficult, but you guessed there was no option other than getting it out. "Can you comfort me? You don't have to, but—"
Now Hobie interrupted you. "Of course, I can do that, babe. Why wouldn't I?"
"It's...stupid." You replied quietly.
Hobie tilted your chin up so you'd look at him as he spoke.
"There's nothin' stupid about needin' comfort, babe. I just want you to be okay, and if I can make that happen, why wouldn't I help?"
You felt like you were about to cry. All your life, you never had someone care for you like this. It used to make you feel like a sobbing little kid, just wanting to fall in someone's arms and for them to tell you that they've got you. A few tears fell down your face, and Hobie finally realized that you must have never gotten this before.
His hands held either side of your face as his thumbs wiped your tears away, "oh, babe," he said softly. "Let me know how you want me to comfort you."
Sniffling as the tears finally slowed, you looked at Hobie, "Can I lay on your chest?" You asked.
Hobie nodded and the two of you laid down, you resting yourself on his firm chest. The steady sound of his heartbeat and his chest rising and falling with each breath lulled you into deep relaxation. All of the embarrassment you held before melted away. Hobie didn't think you were weak or give a brief, half-hearted comfort; he gave you a place to dwell and rest your spirit.
"Can I put my arms around you?" Hobie asked.
You nodded against him, answering softly. "Yeah."
Hobie brought one of his arms over your waist and the other across your stomach. He kissed your temple before looking at you with a smile.
"I'm proud of you, baby," he said. "For admittin' when you need comfort, and lettin' yourself accept it. You're very brave."
You froze at Hobie's sudden words, looking up at him with wide eyes before darting them away. Swiping his thumb across your stomach, Hobie kissed you again.
"I guess we'll work on praise."

Lonely
Pairing: platonic! Gojo x fem! reader
Summary: gojo checks in on you after you've been acting strangely
A/N: irls pls don't read this. Also this is my favorite example of Megumi being irritated by Gojo's existence
Tumblr media
It was an awful week for Megumi. For seven days straight he had to stay at home with Gojo and be driven everywhere by Gojo. He might not make it much longer.
Usually, he'd go everywhere with you before having to go back home to that annoying man; he'd even ask to spend a night at your apartment if you let him. Still, even if he couldn't be with you as opposed to Gojo, he could talk to you from time to time. However, you stopped answering your phone.
It was a Saturday night, and after locking himself in his room all day, Megumi decided to eat and try texting you again. A half hour passed and there was no response. He could never get annoyed with you. If anything Megumi was worried, you were just as talkative as Gojo, thankfully without the capacity for annoyance.
Just as he thought of the devil, Gojo walked into the kitchen. Unfortunately, if anyone knew what was up with you it would be him. Megumi turned to Gojo who hummed as he grabbed a box of pocky.
"Do you know if Y/N's on a mission or something?"
Gojo perked up, thinking for a second before replying. "I don't think she is. Why?"
"She hasn't texted me back all week," Megumi looked at his phone.
It was then Gojo also realized that he hadn't heard from you in over two weeks, nor has he seen you much. It was definitely out of character, especially as his best friend. Placing his snack on the counter, Gojo began to walk away.
"Would you be this beside yourself if I went missing?" He joked.
Megumi grumbled. "Just go check on her."
~
A knock at the door broke you out of your trance-like state at the TV. With a tired sigh, you paused your show and went to answer it.
When the door opened before Gojo, he was surprised to be met with your tired eyes, a blanket and pillow on your couch that was surrounded by empty snack packages, and Queen Charlotte playing on your TV. With a smile, he held up a bag of sweets in his hand.
"You busy?"
You let Gojo in, falling silent as he did a quick observation of your living room.
"Gotta say, this doesn't look good."
You simply fiddled with your hands in response.
Despite your pleading and assurance that he didn't have to, you sat on the couch and ate some of the various sweets Gojo bought while he tidied the area. As he dried and put away the last cup, Gojo went and sat next to you. He almost thought you would speak first, but you inched away slightly, nibbling on your mochi. It had been years since Gojo had seen you like this, and although he'd wish you'd open up, he would of course take his time until whenever you needed him.
"You almost sent Megumi in a downward spiral," Gojo said. "He didn't have anyone to save him from me."
He could barely get a smile out of you, but at least he got you to respond.
"How is he?" You asked.
Gojo shrugged. "Fine. He sent me to check on you."
"I'm okay, Gojo." You tried to convince him with a weak smile, but it only summoned a small frown on his face.
Gojo tilted his head. "Really? 'Cuz it looks like you've been living in your couch and binging all of your emotional period dramas."
With a light sigh, you averted your gaze as Gojo continued.
"How long have I known you? This really isn't like you Y/N. What's going on?"
You were hesitant in your response. "I'll be fine, Satoru."
Gojo's frown grew longer as you turned your face away. There was nothing the two of you never told each other; why the secrecy now?
"Y/N," he said. "Whatever's going on, you know I'd never judge you right? I know I'm an idiot, but you're still my best friend...I care about you."
You started to feel bad. It wasn't that you didn't trust Gojo; what was bothering you was just so much more complex.
Your lips pressed into a line before you spoke. "Do you ever have a certain problem you hate talking about, a specific one that stays bottled up?"
"That you're ashamed of?" Gojo added.
You gave a small nod still not looking back at Gojo. He placed his hand on top of yours. Your fingers twitched under his touch and you felt your cheeks burning up.
"Whatever it is, I'm sure there's nothing to be ashamed of. It's not good to keep your feelings bottled up, especially when this is the outcome."
Gojo put you at ease just a bit, besides, you knew he wasn't going to leave until you were feeling better.
Keeping your gaze forward, you finally spoke slowly. "I've been living on the couch because...at least it feels normal to sleep alone here."
Gojo's brows rose as he took a firm hold of your hand, slowly rubbing his thumb along your knuckles. The action made your head turn away completely.
"You've been lonely." He said.
Snatching your hand back, you stared down at your lap with your hand clenched into a fist.
"It's more than that," You spoke quietly, "I...it sounds pathetic."
"Hey, I won't let you talk about yourself like that," Gojo cut in. "There's nothing wrong with feeling like that, alright?"
You tried to accept Gojo's encouragement, but you couldn't. Why did you feel the way you did? It didn't make rational sense; it shouldn't have bothered you this much.
You hugged yourself, finding the strength to continue, "You remember the last time I was in a relationship?" You asked.
"Two years ago," Gojo answered. "But I thought that ended well."
"It did," you nodded. "But...that was the last time I was touched, held, or cared for,"
Gojo noticed how your hands shook as you held yourself. Although your face was hidden from him, he could hear the soft sniffles that left you.
"I hate feeling so needy; I know I don't need someone but I want someone so bad."
With a sympathetic look, Gojo placed a hand on your knee, feeling you tense. "How long have you felt like this?"
"A while," you answered before jerking your leg away from Gojo's hand. "Please don't feel like you have to comfort me."
Gojo did as you wished and moved his hand away. "Well, one, it's kind of in the job description of best friend. Two, I know I don't have to, but I want to. You mean a lot to me Y/N, and to see you hurt like this...it makes me want to help."
You sat in broken silence as Gojo kept talking. "This isn't being needy, Y/N. People need physical touch; we need to feel cared for,"
Gojo inched closer to you, a smile returning to his face, "If it helps," he reached over to your right cheek, cupping it softly as he fixed your face towards him. "I care about you."
Gojo's hand was so gentle against your skin. As he slowly wiped away your tears, you couldn't help nuzzling deeper into his touch.
"There," he spoke softly. "It's okay."
Tears of relief began to fall this time, and Gojo just let them roll down the back of his hand.

When Ice Melts
Pairing: rengoku x frost hashira! reader
Summary: you're told about Rengoku's death
A/n: falling this in love with a man I lost in 2 hours is kinda crazy. Also ik there's no frost breathing style that's why I made it up👍🏽
Tumblr media
For as long as the hashira had been united, you were an enigma to all. While not all hashira were talkative or expressive, none were quite as calculative and cold as you. For these reasons, none of them could quite grasp the relationship you had with Rengoku.
Mitsuri delivered the news to you on the day he died. While any normal person would cry after hearing about their lover's death, all you did that day was think. You were almost more angry than sad. Angry at the resolve you always admired because you knew it would only end this way and angry at memories that consumed your mind.
You were told that Rengoku's final words were that he would never leave you. Already, you could feel his soul looking down at you with care, but it would never see what his mortal body had witnessed. In all your life, Rengoku was the only one to see you laugh and the dimples that cratered into your cheeks. He was the only one that knew you could feel at all. As his heart burned for you, you were water, fluid in his hands. None of the hashira believed him when he told them how funny you were, and each day they learned a new fact about you. Although his soul was an endless blaze, you encased his heart in ice, keeping it frozen in time.
As the sun began to set, you stared absently at the horizon. The nights could get so cold, but you weren't sure you could feel anything for some reason. Tears fell from your eyes as the last orange glow disappeared behind the mountains, and Giyu walked past, noticing your skirt clenched in your fist.
"Y/N," his voice was sympathetic. "Are you okay?"
A gasp left you as you spoke, never meeting Giyu's gaze.
"It's just...so warm."

Without You (Final Part)
Pairing: gojo x black fem reader
Summary: final part! Gojo followed you down the hall. Will you hear him out or has he lost you for good?
A/n: I had a lot of fun with this lil 3 parter
Tumblr media
You were doubled over with one hand on your chest and the other on the wall. Every breath felt like suffocating, and you couldn't get you heart beat out of your ears.
"Y/N..."
You managed to look up at the source of the voice that had the audacity to speak so gently to you.
"Don't get any closer to me!"
It sounded like a threat, but in your heart you were pleading. If he got any closer you didn't know if you would cry, scream, or fall into his arms. And all options scared you.
Gojo stopped in his tracks, and stood awkwardly for a moment. He had the option to do the sensible thing and walk away so you could both forget that night had ever happened. Eventually, you'd heal; you'd never think about Gojo the way you were now again. All you'd be was coworkers. As for Gojo, he'd probably find some new girl to take advantage of. One he wouldn't care about so much, or he'd never stop thinking about you. He had no doubt that you'd get over him, but would he really bounce back from you so easily? Even if he did, the reminders of his mistakes would still surround him.
Even if you shouted at him again, punched him, and never talked to him again, Gojo needed you to know that he was sorry. Not to ease his own guilt, but to make sure you knew that you never deserved what he gave you from anyone else.
"Y/N," he said again. "Please listen to me."
Would it kill him to shut up for once? His voice, that low siren song, it was vile, making you hang onto every word you didn't want to hear.
Your voice trembled as you spoke. "What part of 'I'm not doing this again' didn't you get? Just go awa—"
"I'm a dumbass, I know that," he suddenly blurted out.
Your mouth fell open, but all words seemed to escape you. Whatever Gojo was on about, you didn't want to hear it. Still, you couldn't find the strength to get away from him.
Gojo continued. "I don't take anything seriously, and I can't take responsibility for my actions...but,"
He had the audacity to follow that up with anything. Gojo wasn't telling you anything you didn't already know; he knew that.
"This is the first time I'm realizing it."
All you could do was sigh. "Gojo..."
"I don't want you to take me back; I just want you to know that I'm sorry, Y/N. For every time I hurt you."
Finally, you found the strength to stand straight against the wall. You looked at Gojo, it wasn't like your senses were overwhelmed by his surprisingly mature apology, but it still hurt your heart to see him.
Slowly, you tried to find your words. "Gojo...I wish we could work out. Every time I let you back in I prayed it'd be different. And I hate that it does, but it hurts without you. All I want—"
Gojo finished. "Is to be with you."
His entire body cringed as you stared at him. Turning on his heels, Gojo tried to walk away and avoid your shocked face.
"Shit, I didn't—"
You inched closer before he could get too far, "Gojo," You called out.
With his hands in his pockets, Gojo turned back slowly.
Looking away, your voice was quiet as you spoke, "Did you mean it," you asked. "That you know you're an idiot; that you're actually sorry for everything."
Your voice wobbled as you finished; Gojo noticed the hem of your dress fisted in your hand. He stepped just a few feet in front of you.
"Y/N," he said. "These last few days all I could think about was how I should've treated you better and given back the love you gave me. It took losing you to realize that I don't want to live without you, and you're the only person that's ever made me feel that way. Yes, I mean it."
A choked sob escaped your throat as the tears started to slow. That was definitely the worst outcome of the three, at least you didn't fall into his arms, but God you wanted to. After everything though, he had to give you a reason to. Who knew that he'd actually take you up on that?
Gojo closed the gap between you, and next thing you knew his hand was on your cheek, his thumb wiping away falling tears.
"I never want to make you cry ever again. Your laugh is the greatest thing I've ever heard, and I wish it was the sound I heard the most."
In his touch you felt warmth, tenderness...love. For what felt for the first time in months. Your tears calmed, and you found your hand finding its way on top of his. Pushing his glasses up onto his head, you looked into Gojo's eyes.
"I only ever want you to make me laugh."
Gojo's breath hitched in his throat as he stared into your eyes. There weren't any words for how he felt, so his body sent him leaning into your lips. He was gentle, so caring and warm, and you both missed each other. As the song reached its epic finish, you ran your fingers through Gojo's hair and his arms tightened around your body.
The music faded out, and you and Gojo pulled away from each other, taking a moment just to take each other in.
"Party's probably over now," he said. "Are you hungry?"
You shook your head with a smile before taking Gojo's sunglasses and placing them on your own head. "There are at least two more songs, and I wanna be in your arms."

Without You (pt 2)
Pairing: gojo x fem! Black! Reader
Summary: it's party time, but can you and gojo really enjoy yourselves without each other?
A/n: guys it's my birthday!! Also third and final part tomorrow<3
Tumblr media
Parties just weren't the same without you. Who did Gojo have to match outfits with, or walk in with him looking absolutely stunning on his arm? Worst of all, the music didn't have a soul without you.
"Was I dragged to this party just to watch you sulk?"
Nanami appeared in front of Gojo who was standing by himself at the punch bowl. The party was the last place he wanted to be; he didn't mind most of the people there, but Nanami wasn't a dancer nor did he care for loud music.
"'Course not," Gojo said before pouring some punch and holding the cup out for Nanami. "Drink with me."
Nanami did not appreciate being brought to the party just so Gojo didn't feel alone, but he gave in, taking the punch and standing beside him.
Just then, you walked through the door with the girls. Fashionably late of course, and from the looks of it, Gojo was the last thing on your mind. The pain in his heart slowly turned into anger. At you for looking so damn happy with the friends who never wanted you with him in the first place or at himself for never being able to put a smile like that on your face, he wasn't sure. Gojo downed the rest of his drink and got away from the table before you all went for yours.
You were having the time of your life, and Gojo suffered because of it. He couldn't even enjoy himself dancing because instead of being in front of him you were in the center of the floor with the girls shaking absolutely everything. But the main attraction had to be that dress. He noticed that dazzling green and how it hugged tight against every curve of your body. He especially noticed how short it was. After all, it was the one he bought you. It was going to take a lot more punch to make that night bearable.
A dance circle formed on the floor of you and the girls. First you went out one at a time, cheering each other on; then you went in pairs and danced with the person on your right. It was then that Gojo wished he never left his house at all. You went out with Shoko, and it started off fine. Making silly faces, you pushed each other back and forth in a lazy tango style. Then, Shoko spun you around her, and as she still held your hand above your hand, you started to whine your waist while Shoko's free hand held onto your hip. The cheering— or rather, screaming— that followed was completely drowned out in Gojo's ears.
Getting all worked up like that wasn't a good look. Shoko was your best friend, and you weren't Gojo's anymore. It didn't matter how you danced together. At least it wouldn't matter if he had danced similarly with you in the past. Gojo didn't know why he didn't leave. It wasn't like there'd be a scandal; everyone knew you dumped him. However, sideways glances were already following them, and paired with whispers would create a juvenile embarrassment he wouldn't care for.
"More drinks." He muttered to himself.
More drinks and more leaning against the wall.
A few hours passed and the party was beginning to die down. You and the girls were having a good time against your own wall, and when Gojo looked around for anyone else to focus on, he noticed that Nanami must have left earlier. That only left Ijichi who was across the room, deciding whether or not he was going to talk to Shoko.
When Gojo saw you laugh all he could wonder was what was on your mind. Your smile was infectious, and every move you made was filled to the brim with joy and life. The same joy and life you shared with him and he continued to take for granted. Gojo forgot how sentimental he could get when he was drunk. He couldn't hear the music anymore, and the strobe lights hardly affected him. All that was left was you. Beautiful you. Why couldn't he change? Why couldn't he fight for the one thing his heart felt as ease with.
One of the more low-key songs came on at the perfect time for drunk, emotional scream-singing. However, you didn't feel motivated to shout along once you really listened to the lyrics. It was strange, you had listened to this Mary J. Blige song a million times, but it never sunk your heart like this.
Utahime started them off. "Chemistry was crazy from the get-go
Neither one of us knew why."
All this time you realized Gojo was staring at you. You were just convincing yourself that he wasn't there. Convincing yourself that you didn't feel his eyes burning through you. You wanted to let him go and finally get better for yourself, but he was a flea and you were the dog. Yet, unsure if you wanted to shake him off.
"We didn't build nothing overnight
'Cause a love like this takes some time" Mei Mei joined in.
What you and Gojo had wasn't love. If it was then why did building it feel like torture trapped in eternity. You gave your trust, your love; your forgiveness— no, acceptance— to this love, and all you got in return were lies, façades, and tears. Why were you too blind to see the signs?
"People swore it off as a phase
Said we can't see that."
Why could you never listen to the people that wanted better for you?
"I've known Gojo for years; he's a good person."
"He's treating me well; he's a good boyfriend."
"It was a mistake; he said he's sorry."
Did you even ever believe yourself, or did you just not want to admit that your poor judgement made you a fool?
Gojo was finding it harder to think. He saw you were strangely quiet, holding onto your drink like a lifeline. But this song was attacking him too much to fully take it in. No matter how badly he missed you, Gojo knew he deserved this fate. The hell he put you through was finally catching up on him. All he could think about was what he should have done.
He should have made you smile more, he should have cherished the love you gave instead of taking it for granted; he should have given that love back instead of making so many mistakes.
"Too strong for too long (and I can't be without you baby)"
But he had to find a way; he had to find a way to leave the party and stop himself from dragging you back in the tragedy that was loving him. All of this yearning and wallowing, it was just his drunkenness, and he definitely couldn't make that your responsibility. However, although Gojo didn't doubt that he was drunk, how come all of these revelations came so clearly to him?
"And I'll be waiting up until you get home ('cause I can't sleep without you, baby)"
The night never seemed as quiet as it really way. Gojo only ever felt at peace when he was clinging to you, feeling your body against his as you rose and fell with each breath and the snores that passed your lips. Every night he'd pray that you'd call saying you'd take him back, but there wasn't a chance in hell of that happening.
"Anybody who's ever loved ya know just what I feel."
It wasn't like he hadn't done this to himself a million times before. Gojo had used so many women, broken so many hearts; toyed with so many emotions. But it never ate him up like this. Not until you; he never felt the way you made him feel with anyone else. And karma had come to collect its dues.
"Too hard to fake it, nothing can replace it"
Have you only been telling yourself that you're over Gojo? Sure, you went out that night instead of crying into a pint of ice cream at home, but if you didn't need him, if you didn't want him, then why did he still exist in the back of your mind? When you looked at the good, you had never known someone like Gojo in your entire life. He had a talent for making you laugh, he had mastered the element of surprise, and he could remember the littlest thing about you if it meant it'd make you happy. Most of it, however, was only puppy love; it didn't take long for his true colors to show. Still, that pure love you had at first, you weren't sure a thing like it existed anywhere else.
"Call the radio if you just can't be without your baby."
Your heart sank as you felt your breath quicken. Searching around the room to ground yourself, you accidentally locked eyes with him. It was for a brief second, but you saw him all too clearly, his lips parted as he stared at you. What in God's name was he thinking?
Little did you know, you both thought the same thing.
"I need him."
"I need her."
It felt like you were going to have a heart attack from that thought alone. You couldn't stay in that room any longer. Absently handing your drink to whichever girl grabbed it first, you stumbled down the hall to the bathrooms.
"Don't follow her, don't move, don't ruin her life more than you already have." Gojo clenched his fist as he thought.
But it wasn't enough. It was like something kept pulling him closer to you against his will. That force ripped him off the wall, dragging him down the hall to you.

Without You (Pt 1)
Pairing: gojo x black! Fem! Reader
Summary: you're tired of Gojo's behavior and finally leave him for good
A/n: part two tomorrow!!
Tumblr media
"Get out!"
Gojo tried to catch up with you stomping down the hallway, but you weren't going to let him catch you.
"Y/N!" He tried to call you helplessly. In your state, he may as well have been talking to a brick wall.
You finally stopped as you reached the door, opening it before Gojo.
"Get the hell out of my house."
Still, he had the audacity to flash that ignorant smirk at you as if you weren't dead serious right now.
"Baby." The honey in his voice made you sick.
You pointed your finger. "Don't you dare 'baby' me! I'm tired of this Satoru; you're a grown man but refuse to act like it."
With his hands raised, as if to admit he was wrong, Gojo tried to reason with you. "Y/N, can we just—"
Your fingers snapped out the open door, tired of hearing excuses, and tired of letting him in again. Sighing defeatedly, Gojo walked slowly out of your apartment. The second he was past the door frame, you shut the door and didn't look back. You expected the sigh you breathed out to be frustrated, but it sounded more like exhaustion. Every time you took him back, you thought he loved you again. But if he loved you, then why did he make the same mistakes?
~
Gojo knew you well enough to know that the face you put on at school the next day was a desperate act. Desperate for control, desperate to ignore your feelings. He wasn't going to be arrogant about it, you had every right to scream at him and break things off, but he never knew you could sting his heart so badly.
Honestly, everyone except the kids could tell what happened between you. They did question why Gojo never came to your class just to annoy you by interrupting your lesson, but you seemed fine so they thought nothing of it. However, when you got time to chat with Shoko, she knew right away.
"So, what'd he do now?" She asked out of nowhere.
For a split second, you looked surprised she could tell, but you knew by now that Shoko knew everything.
You scoffed. "What do you think? I'm just sick and tired; I can't deal with it anymore."
"Does this mean we're spared of your dance to Crazy In Love at the party this weekend?" Shoko laughed.
Although you laughed along with her, you thought about that dance you and Gojo did together. It was mostly his choreography, and although you practiced for hours to perfect it, you couldn't recall hating a single minute of it.
Your smile turned sad, "I guess so," you quickly bounced back. "But, hey, when's the last time we got down on the floor?"
Shoko joined you with a smile as you started two-stepping. You heard your watch beep over the sound of the two of you laughing. It was time to head back to your room before the last class. Before you left, however, Shoko called out.
"Come hang out with us at Mei Mei's to get ready, we've missed you."
You thought to yourself. Had it really been so long since you've hung out with your friends? In a few months, it would've marked two years that you and Gojo were together, or on-again-off-again. With an absent look in your eye, you nodded.
"I'll be there."
You got back just as Nobara, Yuuji, and Megumi were entering your class. Everything went as normal as you taught your lesson. The bell eventually rang, and Yuuji and Nobara hung back to chat with you. Along with Megumi, who tried to look reluctant but really didn't mind. It was the usual conversation of how they've grown as sorcerers, further mastering their techniques and general skills. Then, Yuuji asked an unusual question.
"Are you and Gojo going to the teacher party this weekend?"
Amusement and shock mixed on your face. "Where'd you hear about a teacher party?"
"From Todo," he explained. "Well, from Todo who heard it from Miwa who overheard Ms. Utahime talking about it."
You chuckled lightly, "Well, I'm going."
They all noticed how you stressed that you'd go alone, "What about Gojo?" Itadori pressed, and you'd realize you had to figure out how to professionally tell them that Gojo wasn't worth the sweat off his back.
"I'm pretty sure he will." You smiled absently as Megumi's eyes narrowed.
"You broke up." He realized, bows raising like he'd seen you rescued from a car crash.
A light sigh left you. "Yes, Gojo and I broke up."
Nobara and Yuuji gasped almost overdramatically while Megumi still seemed to be holding back a smile.
"What happened?" The two demanded.
You couldn't help the laugh that came out. It was only natural that they reacted this way. You and Gojo were their favorite teachers, and they were ecstatic when they found out the two of you were together. Still, you definitely could not spill such personal details of your life to your students, so instead you laughed them off.
"Will you nosy kids go back to your dorms and out of my hair?"
Looking positively deflated, they did what you said and turned on their heels out of your door. Once they were gone, you stared out of the classroom door and back to your class. Your eyes looked over the chalkboard. All full of your writing and examples and absent of any stupid doodles around the edges.
You packed your things and erased the board before going back home.
~
Mei Mei's bedroom and attached bathroom were filled with music, laughing, and the smell of margaritas. You, Shoko, Utahime, and her were spending three hours before the party picking outfits and doing your makeup and hair. Shoko wore a suit with heels, and Mei Mei insisted on making her hair wavy. Mei Mei herself wore a sparkly silver dress with heels to match and a black choker. She took out her usual braid and kept her hair swept on one side. Utahime was the most casual out of the four of you, simply wearing a black halter top and leather pants with black heels. Her hair was in a high ponytail and she drew a purple star under the corner of her eye.
You were still in the bathroom, however, finishing up your makeup.
"I'm so happy for you Y/N," you heard Utahime say. "Gojo was never worth the time of day, but I'm glad you cut him off for good."
"I don't know how you stayed with a man that ridiculous...or cheap." Mei Mei added.
You sighed, continuing to apply your eyeliner. "I tried to make it work, but I can only be lied to for so long."
"Don't think it's your fault," Utahime shouted. "There's no changing a man like him."
Stuffing your makeup back in your bag, you went out to your friends to show them the outcome. You kept your hair how it was, glossed your lips and lined them darkly, and added a beauty spot under your eye. As for your dress, it was a mini emerald green bodycon with subtle ruffles. And you paired them with black heels that strapped all the way up your lower legs. The girls all gasped, staring at you in awe.
