Now I have to ask. How would the boys from Your New Pack react to the reader being injured by a different hybrid, either intentionally or accidentally?
not good my friend, not good. but hey let's get into it.
sorry if this is a little short!!
HAWK! KEIGO
You watch his wings twitch and gulp. It was an accident, the fox hybrid truly didn’t mean to swipe at you. He takes a slow step toward the poor hybrid and you do the only thing that will make Keigo turn back toward you, you begin to whine and cry. Of course, it didn’t hurt that bad, but from the way the hawk turned to you with wide eyes in alarm, while the fox ran away, it was pretty believable. He curses to himself and tears a piece of his shirt off to wrap your hand in a bandage, all the while mumbling stuff like, “You are alright. I know Im sorry, Dove.” and “Please don’t cry. Please, you know how much it hurts me seeing you like this.” mostly to himself to calm himself down and not chase after that fox bastard.
BUNNY! IZUKU
This was your fault. A bear hybrid pissed you off and one thing lead to another, and he landed his teeth on your arm. You expected Izuku to freeze, maybe even cower, but he did just the opposite. He stands in front of you, teeth bared, against the bear who was twice his size. His ears go back and he tries to control his growls. When the bear takes a step closer, you are the one that has to pull Izuku away. Although he looks fierce currently, you are not willing to risk your bunny getting hurt. So, you put all of your strength into pulling him away (which is a lot, and he barely budges). But, when he hears your pleas, he allows himself to be dragged away. He cries when he helps you bandage the wound.
WOLF! KATSUKI
Wolves are possessive by nature. In Bakugous mind, every inch of your skin was his. So when the small pup tries to dig his canines into the hand he has already claimed (accidentally, but he tries not to think about it that way) he bares his teeth with a small warning growl. His muzzled face did nothing to hide his sharp teeth and the poor pup gulped, tears lining his eyes, as he scampered toward his mother. You get mad at him, and he goes off on a tangent on how he was in the right and the pup should know his place. You just sigh and apologize to the mother.
PANTHER! SHOTO
The vulture hybrid didn’t even get a chance to strike. The second Shoto saw the malicious glint in his eyes, he dove for the other. Honestly, it freaked you out. The way his usual polite words turn to descriptive, condescending threats. Like he was playing with the fool, trying to scare the absolute shit out of him. “If I so much as see you glance at my owner I swear I’ll find you. Do you understand? I will find and kill–” You grab him by the collar with wide eyes and he immediately pauses. And just like second nature, he switches back to how he usually is in your eye, “I apologize Y/N, but I just couldn’t let him hurt you! You know you mean so much to me. I just...wanted to protect you. Of course, I would never do anything to him, you know me!”
DOG! EIJIRO
His happy-go-lucky mood would switch instantly. It surprises you considering he has never seemed to get mad, but the second that cat hybrid landed its claws on you he did a 180. He turns quiet and cold, glaring at the cat, and small rumbles pull in his throat. He readies himself for a fight. The cat scampers away instantly, feeling the harsh mood and he immediately turns to you. His eye water and he apologizes profusely for not being “strong enough to protect you”. You have to reassure the poor dog that it wasn’t his fault.

i dont know anything about fallout except its a wild west postnuclear survivor game and there’s a jaunty lil dude who’s always giving you a thumbsup? Anyway i would love to know your thoughts on water collection/distribution and/or the economy of mended stuff.
sorry your brain is on the brink
In the context of fallout? The post-nuclear Water economy is the backbone of three different games; the plot of the first involves you getting kicked out of your fancy underground Bunker City in order to find replacement parts for the water filtration system, and the rudimentary post-apocalyptic society you explore uses a currency backed on the water standard (in lieu of the Gold Standard- one bottlecap for one bottle of water.). Water Merchants (those with access to water towers, etc) are power players in the nascent political ecosystem. The (not-very-well-considered) plot of the third game involves trying to get a widespread water purification program working for the DC area. And the central conflict of New Vegas (sometimes referred to as "the really good one,") consists of the local powers brawling over control of the still-functional Hoover Dam due to the control it would provide over the regions freshwater and electricity supply.
I liked New Vegas's take on the scavenged-equipment economy the best. The setting shift to Nevada (previous games by the same writing team being in California) is in part meant to reflect that people back west have simply run out of old-world materials to scavenge, and are now back to living in actual cities that they build out of novel materials, eating food they grow and cook- which makes for a boring place to set a game, hence the shift to the "frontier" of Vegas, where you'll encounter neo-western "prospectors" (scavengers) looking for new claims to tap for pre-war resources to supplement what re-industrialized society can produce. Many of the weapons and armor-sets you use and fight against are encountered in a mad-max style environment, but many of them aren't implausibly-still-in-use antiques- they're being manufactured by a largely off-screen 21st-century-styled liberal-democratic society that's rebuilt enough to redevelop mass consumption and arms conglomerates, the negative externalities of which are spilling out to affect those on the frontier.

hi guys! if you are a fan of my ao3 series, Your New Pack, i got some news…
i am honestly struggling to finish it and even write the next chapter. i’m trying not to discontinue it, but my heart isn’t in it anymore. so it might be a couple of months IF i post another chapter.
that was my first ever writing piece and i feel as though i have moved on to better things. i think my writing has improved so much and honestly, i cant even reread the story because i cringe so much.
i really like the story, but bc i didn’t know anything, the way i executed is just so so poorly. it’s really embarrassing honestly.
I also feel alot of pressure to get it done. like whenever i get a comment on ao3 about the next update it really stresses me out and makes me feel so bad. so idk that sucks.
i am thinking about rewriting it, but if i do follow that plan it will be in a couple of months from now.
idk if i’m going to discontinue it or just come back to it when i feel more motivated.
but, i am hundred percent willing to write other short stories/headcannons for the Your New Pack AU. I still love the characters I created.
i just thought i should let you guys know since a lot of my followers i think came from ao3.
i apologize.

I’m fascinated by the fact that I still see variations in the new quintessence ghoul’s name. Phantom is the obvious front runner, but I’ve also seen plenty of people use Aeon and a few people still use Midas as far as I’m aware, and even some people that still refuse to pick.
This is immensely funny to me and so I present to you an absolutely non-answer of a headcanon: What if he doesn’t actually HAVE a name?
What if things were so hectic when he was being summoned, needing a sudden replacement for Aether, like, yesterday, that Copia just. Forgot to ask the name of the new ghoul he summoned in favor of rushing him to the rest of the pack.
And as a result the ghouls just… kind of started giving him a bunch of nicknames that the others thought were his real name?
Aether’s the one that starts to call him “his little Phantom,” or just Phantom for short, since, at the time, the man was like a living ghost in their den. Barely made a sound the whole time he was there, barely noticeable as a person, blended into social situations so even if you knew he was there, you never really have track of where he is.
Not long after he was summoned, Dew finds him looking out the windows at the night sky, absolutely enamored with the stars and nebulas above them, and Dew takes it upon himself to drag the new ghoul outside and stargaze with him while he points out every constellation and star he can remember from all the times he’s sat out with Aether in the past. The next day, when ghouls start gathering at the breakfast table and Dew asks “Orion” if he wants some coffee, everyone there takes it in stride.
Mountain was likewise quick to come up with a name. “Aeon,” he called him with full confidence one day after spending the afternoon showing him around Primo’s old garden. When asked where it came from, Mountain claimed it was in reference to his quintessence. “It’s hard to describe. It’s something that feels simultaneously older than memory and younger than the present. It’s time and space stretched like taffy and bent in the shape of a ghoul.”
“Midas” comes from Swiss, who insisted on sitting in on a practice session between the new ghoul and Aether. Swiss was blown away by the progress he’s made in such a small amount of time! “It’s like the strings turn to gold under your fingers, man! Which archdemon did you make a deal with to play like that?”
Other nicknames followed. “Quint,” “Shadow,” “Bug,” “Puppy,” “New Guy,” it just kept going. It got to the point where if anyone just said a word in his general direction with enough authority, his head would turn, assuming they were talking to him.
And yet, not once this entire first leg of the tour did he ever correct the other ghouls. It seems he’s content to let them each have their own name for him, at least for now. After all, each name is like a gift: something personal that his new friends have given him, something that grounds him in this new and hopefully permanent pack. Then it would be rude to just choose one over the other, wouldn’t it? And he doesn’t want to disappoint his new pack. How could he possibly choose?

I absolutely LOVE the Squirtle/Wartortle illustrations by kantaro in Pokemon 151!
The Squirtle jumping so joyfully from the rock into the ocean, the colors are STUNNING! I love the contrast of the Squirtle's aqua blue framed in the vivid orange sky, the soft bit of blue reflecting in its shell and its tail just catching the sun, how little and squishy its body looks as it launches itself towards the water with such tremendous excitement!
The lineless style of the background gives me the feel of a travel poster and I sense the tropical environment around it from the rocks and trees framing the corners, the waterfall splashing with as much energy as the Squirtle!
The layered blues on the surface of the water and the bubbles rising at the corner make me FEEL the liquid rising to meet the Squirtle--I can just feel how the next moment it's going to break through and be immersed in a cool island swim!
And the Wartortle running along the sunset beach, this is somehow everything I always imagined for Wartortle! I adore the way the rich purple melts into the warm red/orange sky, the matching purple clouds and shadows in the foreground, and how the dimming sunlight glows red on Wartortle's deep blues!
I love how the yellow and orange of the sky illuminate the lapping waves, I can just feel the gentle motion of the sea at dusk. The aqua color of the ocean matches Wartortle's ears and tail and sets off the red-orange sand, I just love how the colors are here!
Wartortle looks so round and squishy, I love its happiness as it goes frolicking through the shallows, chasing the bubbles caught in the setting sun! The shine and deep shadow on its shell give it an almost jewel texture like real tortoise shell; I love the silhouetted splash Wartortle leaves as it goes running across the shore. It's so full of energy and delight at the end of a gorgeous day!
The colors in these are SO vivid and harmonized and the style is so cute and bursting with energy and joy. I just LOVE it (also Squirtle is my starter)

"Recently, a wave of fresh paranormal romance books have hit the shelves. The real question is, which new books should you pick up?
Paranormal romance is a subgenre of romance that follows the HEA/HFN (happily ever after/ happy for now) arc of human, non-human, and/or superhuman characters. The paranormal beings involved could be ghosts, werewolves, vampires, witches, or other supernatural creatures of legend that slot into a paranormal version of our world. If it’s in a high fantasy otherworld or is a monster romance, I am following the judgment of fellow Book Riot writer Jessica Pryde in her paranormal romance recommendation list and disqualifying them from this round-up.
As a longtime fan of the genre, I have plenty of backlist recommendations and a carefully curated list of fresh paranormal romance books. Every book here was published in the last five years, between 2019 and 2024. As a general personal rule, I like my paranormal romance to have believable, well-developed characters and a plot that hooks me in. If either the love interests or plot are paper-thin, my attention swiftly drifts. So, if you are looking for a witch, werewolf, vamp, or otherwise paranormal being falling in love, I’ve decided these are the ones you should read."
