I love the fact that Hiccup has a whole little speech that he periodically gives Astrid to remind her that the twins serve a purpose like what else does he have to constantly remind them of

The 'Snotlout is clearly going through something rn just let him be stupid' speech

The 'Stop telling Tuffnut you're gonna eat Chicken, I can only handle him sobbing in my hut for so long' speech

The 'Stop jumping out at Fishlegs at night' speech

The 'Don't interrupt Astrid while she's throwing axes bc I can't save you' speech

The 'No you CANNOT shove the dragon eye up your ass no matter HOW MUCH you want to see if the projection scome outof your mouth' speech (that one's mostly for Tuffnut)

Thinking about how Hiccup is considered The Dragon Rider by friend and foe alike, including his Dragon Riders.

Thinking about how he's the Dragon Master. Even when facing Drago Bludfist, the other Riders were fearless because they knew Hiccup and Toothless ("The best Dragon Master this world has ever seen!") were coming.

About how Hiccup trained the Riders' dragons and he retains that relationship all throughout RoB through RttE. How he's still considered the best rider and trainer, though he has taught many others his tricks and skills. He's even indirectly helped teach Heather!

The Riders consider the Hand Thing his Hand Thing! Before the twins ask if they can do it, too, in RttE, no one thought they could do that as well.

Heather and Astrid talk about how he can train any dragon minus a few. Mala, Queen of the Defenders, believes only Hiccup can truly train a dragon.

And when Hiccup returns home in Httyd 2, the people cheer because Berk's Pride has come home and he'll deal with Drago for them.

Tonight, I'm just having a lot of feelings about the boy who no one thought would be anything other than a nuisance (they literally chose a dangerous possibly very fatal and potentially USELESS expedition over spending time with Hiccup!) becoming so revered by almost anyone he knows.

Just a guy! Just a sleepy noodle guy!!

Literally crying over the fact that the gang never hung out in the academy/arena after rtte

Like that’s where they first became real friends with Hiccup and where they befriended their dragons but it’s just forgotten after rtte

That should have been the first thing they mourned about when they lost Berk especially because of all the adventures and memories they had there

That was the first place Astrid went when she lost her home

They spent nearly every day there in rob and dob

The twins are SO smart. They successfully sneak into a MASSIVE dragon hunter operation, Ruff managed to steal that key by faking an emotional breakdown and confuse Viggo about when they would attack, they're constantly teaching the gang new words and concepts, they speak at LEAST 3 languages, they've written at LEAST one book that was on the top of some best seller list somewhere, they've memorized so many random facts that they will never need, they've managed to learn how to fly through the air and do BATTLE while working together with each other AND both heads of their dragon as ONE UNIT

I think Hiccup is more like Dagur and Heather than we give him credit for, simply because he does tend to become obsessed with certain things, too.

Dagur has obvious obsessive traits. He starts a whole war just to get to Hiccup because he betrayed him and then spends a whole three years after that war thinking about getting back at him. All because of a personal slight.

Heather also has this trait and it shows itself when she's obsessed with her quest for vengeance. And I do mean the word "obsessed" because at some point, she puts her life as well as Windshear's life in danger in a mission to kill Dagur, a mission in which she saw ahead of time she was outnumbered, Hiccup told her she was outnumbered, and she still decided to take the risk. Which ended in Heather immediately being overwhelmed. And despite her recklessness almost costing her Windshear and her life, Heather still asked the Dragon Riders for help behind Hiccup's back. She probably wouldn't have even been there to go behind his back if it wasn't for Hiccup saving her life.

And then, after all of that, she would even infiltrate the Hunters by pretending to be their ally just to get close to Dagur.

Not to mention that Heather came into RttE sinking ships (not caring who they belonged to) and even hurting the Dragon Riders to avoid being seen only to later capture and hurt them again (Astrid especially when she and Dagur infamously keep her awake, which is an actual real life torture method) all in the name of keeping her cover.

So you may be thinking... Okay, but how is Hiccup, of all people, similar to them?

Well, the most obvious example is when Hiccup grows obsessed with dragons. He does it to the point that he can neglect other people and things in his life.

And then he obsesses again in RttE when Viggo shows up, to the point that Astrid and Fishlegs had to bargain for one single day off and the dragons getting infected by a grimoras was mistaken for a rebellion caused by Hiccup's actions. Even Dagur noticed Hiccup nursing the seed of revenge and warned him not to let him consume him.

So yeah... Berserker siblings indeed.
