Camp Damascus was amazing! I love it as a horror novel, as a queer experience and just as a thing I put in my brain this year. It was one of the best.
It was also a huge watershed moment for me in my neuroatypical existence, as I kept going "But this is just normal, right" to the autistic signs of the main character. Like. I've known I was in the spectrum for a long time, but this experience really put it into perspective.
Also gave it to a friend who's been so happy and felt so seen by the autistic behaviour of the main character. They texted me about it every time it sparked joy, and it's been beautiful to experience.
So, thank you so much! Thank you so, so much, for both our thrills and joys of this horror rollercoaster!
thank you buckaroo this is a very kind gift to receive i am so thankful and honored that you and your bud have seen yourself in this story. i am honored to create an autistic hero who is not beholden to her neurodivergent way in some tragic fashion. it is just a part of her trot like it is just a part of OUR trot.
i think my horror stories connect with specific buckaroo groups because they are honoring these experiences in a way that is more than just surface level. it is fascinating to see the way CAMP DAMASCUS resonates with autistic vs neurotypical buckaroos differently (not bad or good, just different). same can be said for the way STRAIGHT resonates with queer buckaroos vs straight cis buckaroos differently. i think BURY YOUR GAYS will resonate with buckaroos involved in fandom as well as ace buckaroos in a different way than those who do not have this trot (and honestly just queer buckaroos in general are going to like bury your gays it is pretty universal to this experience)
but that is just art i guess, it is a wonderful little mirror that reflects us all in different ways, and it can be so POWERFUL to finally see yourself in that reflection
i am so honored to be a part of this experience for you, thank you bud you have proven love to me today

Most LGBT cishet movie?
Tumblr media
Movie Submissions!
Sometimes a cishet movie is a hit in this community even without any stories or characters reflecting us (or at least not explicitly or intentionally or... tastefully). Either because of its campiness and witty banter, its drama, its weirdness, amazing soundtrack and costumes or its diva-like personality taking center stage. Please don't take this poll seriously.
Examples of movies that follow the rules below:
The Wizard of Oz (1939), Clue (1985), The Exorcist (1973), The Servant (1963), The Sound of Music (1965), Heathers (1988), Little Shop of Horrors (1986), All About Eve (1950), Jawbreaker (1999), What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962), 9 to 5 (1980).
Rules for Submissions:
Please don't fight we're literally just ranking the straightest gay movies and transest cis people. The most conforming and queer paradox.
Because of the tendency of this site to call something "gay" just because 2 conventionally attractive men stand next to each other for 5 seconds, I'm not counting shipping possibilities that much. The level of drama, camp and the number drag parodies it has is way more important than possible romantic relationships or sexual tension in submitted films. Also there's ace and aro people voting. Keep them in mind!
It has to be cishet but somehow still queer. Can be the camp, general weirdness, gnc clothes, sassiness, the inclusion of a diva, accidental coding, or some other secret option. Honestly if you find a way to reason so hard it works, you could even try to submit The Godfather (... it is very quotable...)
Submit movies that aren't just American!
Submit movies that are cult classic masterpieces or movies that objectively suck!
I love Mamma Mia but it does have gay characters. This poll came about because I found that a lot of older movies had queer fans that were able to connect to others through these movies while creating their own spaces. This was despite the movie being "straight and gender conforming". I love that there's more rep now, but I'm aiming for this to poll contain more vintage movies for a reason. and I want to expand my watchlist. I'm aware that there are movies from the 70s, 1920s, and other older eras with explicitly gay themes and characters like Victim 1961 or Salome 1920 (and I encourage you to widen your scope of historically significant films) but this isn't that poll.
Old movies with very stealth trans or gay coding with its side characters and unintentional lgbt+ coding is allowed, but you know these things can be hit or miss. Besides, I put Heathers on here even though it's homophobic. Fun but homophobic. You can submit movies with homophobia or conformist themes to a degree.
You can submit propaganda videos, text, and images! If you know any drag parodies of the movies, send them my way!
If you don't want to submit directly, you can @ me
Posts with polls will be tagged as #mlcm poll. Movies posts with #user submitted or #user submission means it was submitted through the google forms and will enter the tournament
Given that not a lot of people watch older movies, the battling polls will be paired by decade until it gets whittled down to the finals where old and young will both compete.
Competition will start May 1 in honor of The Wicker Man 1973, which i wish counted as a poll entry, but I limited myself to one movie I'd slip into the tournament despite the fact that there's not a lot of lgbt fans of the movie. And this was my runner up because I really liked The Exorcist's Regan and Karras. Unless someone else submits him, Wicker Man's not gonna be there. Rest in Peace Christopher Lee and his ugly blonde wig.

wrightworth !!
since it's a fine november noon, i've decided to bless you all with my paragraph on why wrightworth is canon ! wrightworth is literally canon. THERE WAS 15+ YEARS OF PINING PLUS PHOENIX WENT TO LAW SCHOOL FOR EDGEWORTH. “oh, my ex college girlfriend framed me for murder?? i’ll let that slide. OH MY GOD MY CHILDHOOD FRIEND THAT I HAVEN’T SEEN SINCE KINDERGARTEN IS A LAWYER??? I’M SWITCHING MAJORS.” their dynamic fits every single possible ao3 tag. enemies to lovers? childhood friends? red and blue? pining? angst? they got you covered. PLUS THE UNNECESSARY FEELINGS LINE PLUS THE ONE-SIDED HATE LINE. oh and did i mention the matching wedding ring AND the anniversary wine AND the matching perfumes??????? i mentioned rivalries, right??? WE CAN’T FORGET ABOUT THE “love creates rivalries” LINE SAID BY….. you guessed it….. PHOENIX. PHOENIX BECAME A LAWYER FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF SEEING EDGEWORTH AGAIN EVEN THOUGH HE ONLY KNEW HIM FOR A FEW MONTHS IN FUCKING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. BOTH OF THEM GRIEVING SO HARD WHEN THEY THINK THE OTHER IS DEAD THAT NEITHER CAN HANDLE HEARING EACH OTHER’S NAMES. MILES FLEW HALFWAY ACROSS THE EARTH THE MOMENT HE FOUND OUT PHOENIX GOT HURT. cmon man. WRIGHTWORTH IS CANON THEY’RE LITERALLY SO GAY IN COURT LIKE YOUR HONOR!!!! I THINK THEY’RE HOMO!!!! the article written in issue #72 of an official uk nintendo magazine was about the best fictional couples, and wrightworth was on that list. the writers of ace attorney say that edgeworth isn't interested in women, and it’s confirmed that both edgeworth and phoenix find each other attractive. THE OFFICIAL ACE ATTORNEY FACEBOOK PAGE POSTED WRIGHTWORTH ART ON VALENTINES DAY!! i could go on and on about this but you probably hate me enough by now. in conclusion, WRIGHTWORTH IS CANON!!!!! :3

One Piece Shipping War - Round 2 Side A
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda under the cut.
Propaganda for Deuce x Ace:
Have you read the novels? They’re gay your honor.
The classic captain/first mate combo. They even have matching names! Also if you have read “Ace’s Story” it’s clear how affectionately Deuce views Ace. ☀️
Stranded idiots to friends to lovers
They are very cute together!!!!
Deuce is from Novel A and my godd is he gay for Ace. They met on a small deserted island and at first Deuce didn't like him because he was in his angsty phase. He had just renounced his name, becoming nameless, but Ace wanted something to call him, so he started calling him Masked Deuce (because he wore a mask and so the names matched). Deuce didn’t like it at first and then suspected Ace was taking the few resources there were for himself. So then he picked up a stick, intent on killing Ace when he found him with a fruit, but he was so weak that when Ace turned around he went "cool stick!" and simply yanked it from him, Deuce deflated. And that's when Ace realized he'd been trying to kill him, but he didn't panic. It was a bit awkward but he decided to share the fruit between them. A half for Ace a half for Deuce. Ace took the first bite and then the other did as well. It was horrible, and yet delicious for the simple fact Deuce had been starving. It was of course the Mera Mera no Mi. After that moment, they became much closer and Deuce's perception of the other completely changed. He became infinitely loyal to him. He kept the name. They worked together and when finally being able to leave the island, he remarks it suck they couldn't even find any treasure, and Ace turns around, looks directly at him, and says "I wouldn't be too sure about that" with a smile. They deserve to be in this competition. They're just...
Novel A is the propaganda, they're so gay for each other. Deuce talks about how lucky he is to be dedicating his life to Ace and Ace calls Deuce the treasure he found on Sixis.
I decided to read the Ace book and I thought everything was exaggerating about Deuce and Ace being gay. And wow was I wrong they were not. When Deuce says Ace didn’t find a treasure on the island Ace was like “yeah I did ur coming with me right” then Deuce goes off on a whole internal tangent about how he will stay by Ace’s side. They also almost have a Ferris wheel date because Ace sees Deuce looking at the Sabaody Ferris wheel and when he finds out he’s never been on one they go on but this off duty marine girl ruins their date :(
It's that first mate devotion. It's the matching names. It's all the poetic waxing Deuce does when writing about Ace.
They are amazing and so underrated.
Propaganda for Usopp x Kaya:
When we first meet them and see them interact they just act so sweet. There's also a chapter in one of the novels where a guy interested in Kaya asks the old Usopp pirates "what kind of guy does she like?" And all 3 reply "Captain Usopp." Which I think is very cute!
He wanted her to laugh! Help her when she lost her parents because he knew exactly what it felt like! He helped her get better! And she was so heartbroken when it seemed like he was lying to her about Klahadore! Then she was more heartbroken when it turned out he'd told her the truth!
They will also be endgame trust me.
The ship that I would put money on becoming canon at the end of the series. It's very romantic how Usopp would come to see her every day, and how they are both still thinking of each other after so much time apart.

I was wondering if you had thoughts about how Ice and Mav's politics don't fully align with their actions? There was a post where you said Ice's politics are more socially liberal than Mav's but Mav is also the one who goes out to La Jolla to hit on guys before Ice, and later again when he's broken up with Ice, but Ice only goes out with women out of fear for his honor or whatever. Same with their respective thoughts on feminism, with Mav's mild respect for Charlie (telling Ice not all women fit the stereotype) but later Ice is the one who sends Juno to Mav's Top Gun class without telling him she's a woman and Ice has a respectful friendship with Juno. I think you said Ice is vaguely on the ace-aro spectrum (demi-homoromantic) which is a sort of fascinating irony that he doesn't have the words for it whereas Mav is the one with the theories about Ice's sexuality. Though with their hypocrisies and inconsistencies this all just feeds into their characterizations of the fact that they keep divorcing their actions from their spoken words from their identities.
okay going to take this point by point
1. yes i have addressed their politics in relation to their actions before, so maybe read this post and this post before you read this one, just to see where my other thoughts line up
2. gay republicans and conservatives do exist (at the very least certainly republicans and conservatives who have gay sex in secret)
3. before maverick is a political actor he is a human being, and the characterization that we are primarily given for him is that he is impulsive and reckless and doesn’t think through his actions. As ive written about many times before—from a story construction standpoint, his thoughtlessness is his number one most important character trait. He is both thoughtlessly dangerous (his hero’s “fatal flaw;” he can’t stop himself from making bad decisions) and thoughtlessly brilliant (the navy’s best and most daring and heroic pilot). He does what he wants without thinking about it; and he makes excuses and hollow promises whenever that plan doesn’t work out (“I know better than that. It will never ever happen again;” [it happens again] “I’m not gonna let you down. I promise.” [goose dies shortly thereafter]). His thoughtless impulsiveness overrides everything else. Maybe the act of having gay sex (to address your “he gets fucked in La Jolla before ice” point) is politically subversive, but for Maverick’s thoughtless character that we are shown in Top Gun, the most subversive possible thing would be to LABEL the gay sex and think through the consequences of it. To call a spade a spade and call himself gay or bi or queer or whatever. That would be the most subversive (and with mav, entirely unbelievable imo) possible thing. That takes conscious effort of thought, something maverick is near-incapable of doing. As long as he can get away with it without thinking about it, he’s politically in the clear, with regards to his character & character arc. If that makes sense. “Don’t think. Just do.” That’s literally his motto lmfao. He represents thoughtless action as an archetype; his politics come secondary to his desires
4. Their “respective thoughts on feminism” are divided into two camps: 1. “Professional as required by the law” and 2. “Sex pest mode.” They’re naval officers in the 1980s. Whether republican or democrat, that’s kind of par for the course. How men treat women can be a performance to other men. Any respect i made them show towards women had broader, more metatextual “need to move the conversation/story from A to B” reasoning behind it. See the first post I linked for much more on that.
5. i never said ice was on the ace/aro spectrum, or if i did i DEFINITELY meant it sarcastically. That could not be further from what i believe. This isn’t something I’ve ever discussed on this blog before, but a MASSIVE part of the philosophical discussion I’ve been trying to moderate within this project over the last year is the question— “do labels even work with characters under these very specific and extraordinarily extreme conditions and societal pressures?” It’s a question I took from my time studying early American history—the contexts of certain environments, and I would definitely count the elite officer ranks of the navy in the 90s and 2000s as one of these certain environments, simply Are Not Conducive to the easier (path of least resistance maybe) ways we civilians handle sexuality and friendship and trauma. There are so many variables and external and internal pressures within an environment like the upper ranks of career navy officers that sexual orientation labels lose all nuance and accuracy. I don’t think Ice (as i have written him) is gay. I don’t think he’s straight. I don’t think he’s bi. I think he’s an unlabelable product of too many variables for labels to have any effect on how he is perceived. Which, in our society built around labels and categories, is admittedly difficult to wrestle with. But doesn’t make it any less worth wrestling with.
6. Yes, ice and mav’s hypocrisy is the linchpin of the entire story.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They’re both trying to have their cake (“honor” and moral superiority based on the harmful traditional subjective morals arbitrated by elite navy officership) and eat it too (a fulfilling relationship with the love of their lives). & the point is that they cant. they have to settle for one.
#adam & eve can either stay in eden or eat from the tree of knowledge. but the moral authority told them not to eat; so they can’t have both#or—they can have both but they can’t ACKNOWLEDGE having both; they have to keep it a secret even from themselves. that way it’s not sin.#(the navy is ice/mav’s religious institution as i keep repeating)#re: ice and labels.#like i am both joking and not joking when i say he’s mavericksexual#simply because maverick represents both the guilt Ice must deal with re: the death of a friend#AND the recklessness that would inspire him to realize (in the actionable sense of the word) the full extent of his sexuality#no one else can do that. he and maverick were made for each other like that.#same thing where ice is the only one who can legitimize maverick in the eyes of their overbearing institution.#they’re made for each other in a way that imo transcends sexuality and labels.#I’m not going to touch the politics of ‘demi-‘ labels because i know people feel very strongly about it#and you come to me for Top Gun not necessarily my thoughts on modern identity politics#but suffice to say i don’t believe either ice or mav are demi anything.#they’re just guys. they’ve killed people and killed with each other and killed for each other. they don’t need labels. just let them be#tom iceman kazansky#pete maverick mitchell#top gun#icemav#top gun maverick#asks#edts notes#thanks for the ask! hope it isn’t coming off as aggressive or argumentative#* argumentative yes. you can argue with me.#but the labeling issue has been on my mind since DAY ONE & influenced much of how i wrote the story#human beings are so much more complex than most labels give us credit for

I have two sins that somwhat cohenside:
As a Cole stan for life I despise the Cole is gay HC and have had to abandon the tag because of its prevalence. Lavashipping is a NOTP and of all the art and edits I've seen polluting my Cole tag I still cant see any chemistry or dynamic between them besides they are both attractive. All the ninja ships are incest vibes (not just the gay ones. Looking at you Braincellshipping) to me as they treat eachother and call eachother brothers but at least there was tension and chemistry between the old days of Bruiseshipping. Lava's prevalence online had me quit for a long time as I couldnt understand why it randomly gained such traction and then showrunners made the dumb idea to try and bait fan perceptions in crystalized. I see cole as somewhat aromantic (although the term is mostly meaningless and used to describe anyone who is uncmfortable or disinterested with romance without analysing the deeper psychological reasons that might be the case) but he obviously wants to be a father and I don't see how any of his defined traits attribute to being the fans gay stand in besides the fact that fandom always has the urge to pick one to be the LGBT mascot and create content that isnt there simply for their own self indulgence. I like Coliel (if anyone remembers Seliel) as it leans into Coles obliviousness to advances while it shows off his honorable and protective personality. I don't find Cole particularly coded LGBT in any of the seasons up until Dragons rising, which the episode focussing it was badly written and OOC.
My other "sin" I suppose is I disown ALL of DR for being a horrible soft reboot that does everything a soft reboot shouldn't: messing with preestablished lore in an attempt to prop up these random new characters as just, if not more, powerful than our protagonists. The new writer has a horrible track record with character ensemble shows like TMNT 2012 and its a worthless slap in the face continuation of an ended series. The diologue is horrendously tacky and most jokes dont land. The push by the writers to add in fan characterizations and expand the lore beyond whats established is lazy and uninspired. There is so much left to explore in Ninjago the way it was. We never went to most of the continent but why try to write compelling stories and dramas with an already defined map when you could throw everything out the window and make your own sandbox, shoehorning it into Ninjago regardless on how ridiculous it looks and feels.
*exhale* alright. I lot to get through here.
there is nothing wrong with not HCing cole gay, especially if you seem him on the aro/ace spectrum. I'm in the exact same boat. And just because there are very prevalent gay interpretations of the text does not mean you have to adopt them, or watch them with that subtext in mind. The true potential episode can obviously really easily be read as a coming out allegory, and a lot of people have latched onto that. And good for them!
But it's just as easily read as a story about defying your parent's expectations for a career path- especially if that's something you can relate to. I think the episode works even better in that respect (cuz that's kinda more directly what it's about, but also) because it adds in this layer of also respecting the place where your parents came from and make their living with. Honestly, I didn't see any gay coding on my first watch through of that one dragons rising episode. I saw Cole's relationship with Geo as much more of a mentor/mentee thing, probably because he's typically taken on a father role. I thought Geo and Sora had more chemistry honestly, with that one scene where their bonding over rejection. That's the beauty of media, multiple interpretations! It sounds like you're letting the fandom color your viewing experience, and that's your problem. The crystalized kai/cole stuff can just as easily be read as brother shenanigans. Don't let fanon make things canon for you if you don't want them to.
I'm on the same page of not shipping the core 4 together. The early seasons were directly focused on their brotherhood in my view, so I get it. But, let's not begrudge people their imaginary LGBTQ rep. As far as I understand lavashipping took off cuz it's the only gay pairing of the main characters who could still potentially be canonically shipped together. Jaya and pixane are pretty set in stone, and lloyd is pretty much off limits. But kailor is very iffy in canon, and cole has never had a love interest. And even if I don't ship it, I can see the value of people having some level of hope that the show might give them some rep. But again, none of this means you have to ship it or feel bad for not shipping it.
Second, you've got some unique opinions on dragons rising. Cool. I don't think you're completely invalid or anything, but I do think some of these opinions might be a little biased?
You're mad it brought back the... finished tv show? The show that finished with crystalized? The worst possible ending of the show? Honestly, it wasn't that much more conclusive than other seasons. Ninjago has always struck me as an evergreen property- a world with endless adventures in it. To begrudge future stories for existing seems a little selfish to me. Ninjago should be a property that new kids can get into for years to come. I've got some problems with what dragons rising has done. I don't think the merge was the best way to go. I hate how needlessly small it makes everything feel. I think sora is a little too chosen-one-y. There are things to criticize here. But it's pulling a lot off. I think it's balanced screen time between old characters and new characters pretty well. It's established a fairly unique identity for itself, which can be a real struggle for sequel content. Again, I think you're coming into it with a distorted fandom lens which is making you hate it more. Not to say that you're wrong, but you're feelings associated with your opinions may be a little exaggerated.
if you have a sin you would like to confess, please direct it to @ninjago-sins

Manga Bonus and Omake Time!
It's June, so I'll do one of the gayest ones. Surprisingly, it's none of Judar's, though they came in very close second hahaha. Nah, I'm going to go over the other magi with vol 19's.
The scans below are mine. I was too lazy to find good copies online, despite cleaning up the images from my shit camera probably was more effort than just finding them. Another note is that they're the English translation from Viz Media. I usually like fan translations a lot of time for analysis because I find it easier to pick apart the more literal translations a lot go for. Alas, I don't have that so these are the same that were published at the end of the volume in America.
These are mostly my own interpretations from this specific scene. Nothing really to back anything up, more-so to explain my thought process because I can and I think it's fun.
Tumblr media
Not gonna lie, when I first read that I was like yesss. Fuck gender and sexuality! That's the spirit. And I do think, even though the conversation before is talking about gender, sexuality also applies to the statement since the immediate reply to Scheherazade's words is refuted as Aladdin's perverse behavior is brought up. If she wasn't referring to both then that would be a bigger leap in the conversation. I'm also biased because I am ace, lol.
(for the record, I do see Scheherazade as acespec, and both Aladdin and Yunan under the non-binary umbrella, though not necessarily agender for either of them. I will get my pride Magi hcs up this month. Idk when though so stating this here in case curious.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(from right to left)
I feel like Scheherazade is doing her best to help Titus out and explain but she should let Titus identify himself.
Tumblr media
Titus, you deserve the world. All the future happiness to you to help ease any doubt <3.
This is one of the times gender is the focus on the conversation, and it's about Titus being self conscious on his gender. We see a bit of Yunan's other lives, with some being shown feminine, but that's it. The manga brings attention to it for Titus, although this isn't in the main manga either. The whole conversation and Titus in general gives off big trans energy.
I dunno. I like that they reassure him on who he is. Should have laid off him in the first place, but it's sweet.
(Plus, Aladdin, you are a little shit and should apologize for invading the guy's space when you met and not just for assuming his gender. Bad child.)
Tumblr media
I love when they do start to talk about Aladdin, Titus mentions that neither he or Sphintus gets it concerning woman. It could be because they're young, and that's fair. But the more important conclusion:
They're gay, your honor.
Yup, that's what I have. I enjoy that the main talking point was about gender and sexuality, and for me it's easy to see no one there as cishet. The end note is that Scheherazade is likely more wordly than she appears (or wants to be), but I do still see her as ace. I will break down more of my headcanons later; this is long enough already.
Happy Pride Month All. Sharing all my fluffy freshly-baked ace cakes.

I keep seeing this poll floating around. "How many times have you changed your sexuality?" I didn't want to tack this onto the post but I wanted to rant about it.
The other day I was working on my local sister's computer. Distant sister called her. At some point in the conversation distant sister asked "so how is that weirdly asexual brother of ours?" Local sister corrected her saying that it's not weird and we should normalize it. Since both of them are really big on that alphabet community crap it turned into a big circle jerk about embracing alternative lifestyles and what great allies they are. By the time the discussion moved onto something else neither one realized that the question of how I'm doing was never answered.
I'm straight by the way. Always have been. Never doubted it. I just don't talk about my love life because I figure nobody cares and this kinda proves it. My sexuality only seems to matter in the context of their own diversity points. I'm white and I'm a man. They can't change either of those things, but if they can fool themselves into believing I'm not straight that's one less straight white male they're related to so they're winning!
Local sister once told me she thought I was gay. I told her I'm straight and I just never talk about it. The first time she called me "ace" we had this discussion again. I don't bother correcting her on it anymore because her memory is too shitty to remember we even had this conversation, and again those diversity points matter more to her than how I'm actually doing so it doesn't matter.
I just find it funny how this is a prime example of horseshoe theory. Their little corner of the political compass hates how the alphabet community and mentally ill are black sheep in their families for not being "normal". Now here I am being the oddball for not having some exotic identity or wearing mental illness like a badge of honor. The idea of what they want me to be supercedes the actual person who is in their lives.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sound of beeps and screeches echoed throughout the Wayne manor on a seemingly normal Friday night. However, it wasn't a normal Friday night, it was Mario kart night.
Cursing and the coconut mall song raged as you pressed the button on your remote, sending a shell flying at Jason. He narrowly dodged it and glared at you. You smiled winking at before realizing you had another shell, and he was right behind you.
“Hmmm, what if-” You began
“Oh no, don’t you start that sentence, don’t you dare make that face.” He shouted only for you to press the button sending the shell straight into him.
"Damn it, Y/N!"
You cackled as you zipped ahead into the top five. Ahead of you was Cass. Harper, who sat next to her was sucking on a lollipop, occasionally shouting cheers.
"Yeah Y/N kick their asses!"
You cackled some more as you moved up into third place. Cass however, just crossed the finish line as you began to move up to second. Shooting her a slight glare you sighed and accepted second.
Turning to her you smiled shrugging.
"To be beaten by you is an honor."
You bowed your head as everyone else giggled.
"Thank you sensi."
The giggles continued and you watched as Cass smiled and passed her remote to Harper.
'She is my favorite sister.' Cass signed and you laughed looking at her.
Giving her a look, you signed back, 'I'm not even your sister.'
Cass smiled and said very softly, "Not yet."
You froze looking around only to see everyone holding back laughter.
"Do you guys know something I don't?"
"Yeah," Duke snickered.
You paused for a moment, and everything began to connect.
"He wants to adopt me."
Dick nodded and you smiled before elbowing Tim who snorted.
"Hey, at least we'll finally be actually siblings Timmy-timmy-timbo."
"Are you insane?" He laughed
You grinned broadly and shrugged.
"Most likely."
He laughed and you laughed to. Elbowing him again you gestured to the screen.
"Shall we continue to play... I mean shall you let me, and Cass continue to whip your ass, Tim?"
Tim narrowed his eyes and you leaned back to shoot a wink at Cass.
"Challenge accepted, L/N."
You raised an eyebrow at him jaw dropping slightly.
"Copying Damian, I see Drake."
"Please stop, mimicking me," Damian muttered from underneath Ace and Titus, "it's rude."
You laughed and turned to see Tim scrolling through the racetracks before stopping on the dreaded one. Rainbow road. Everyone went quiet for a moment.
"Rainbow road, only certified gays can beat it." Harper whispered.
The silence continued for a moment more before everyone burst into laughter. Dick however gave Harper a shocked look pressing his hand to his chest.
"Are you saying I'm not certified?"
Harper shrugged, "I don't know Dick. You're a bit of a hoe to both genders."
More laughter followed and Tim clicked on Rainbow Road. He looked to you and you smiled.
"Let's do this."
Just as you were about to start Bruce appeared in the doorway, papers in his hands.
"Y/N," He said, "After this race could you and I talk for a minute?"
You looked to the others, eyebrows raised, and Tim mouthed 'adoption'. You fought back a laugh but smiled and nodded.
"Sure!"
AU where all the people who called their hotline learn what happened and storm the asylum and jail and rescue them and they get to get actual therapy and fight for equal rights together.
(Chromatists putting pride flags on their sides is the best thing ever)
(I seem to recall art somewhere with Bill with the aroace flag...? Might be remembering wrong)
@2d-dreams I love your story and characters. They're so cute.
Tumblr media
[ID: A simple, lineless digital drawing of Pollux Codex, an original Flatland character, and Bill Cipher from Gravity Falls, sitting in a bench under a tree and smiling at the camera while saying, "Cheese!". Pollux is a blue hexagon with his left side, which we see on his right, darker blue and covered with scar tissue, with another scar on his lower side. He has a black bowtie, and holds a yellow cane in his right hand. The two of his sides on the right have been painted in the gay flag and the ace flag. The gay flag has stripes of dark green, seafoam, off-white, medium blue, and very dark blue. The ace flag is black, grey, white, and purple. Bill is a yellow equillateral triangle with darker scars on his lower half, concentrated on his right side, wearing a black bowtie and a tall tophat, holding a blue cane in his left hand, which we see on his right. His diagonal sides are painted with the gay, agender, and aroace flags. The araoce flag is orange, yellow, white, light blue, and dark blue, and is drawn upside down here. The agender flag is black, grey, white, light green, white, grey, and black. He has his eye closed while he smiles, and both he and Pollux are reaching out with their hands around the other while looking at the camera. Behind them is a large tree, and below them is green grass. The background is blank white. End ID.]
You should all go read The Arts of Being. You don't have to know anything about Gravity Falls except for the very ending. You can read Flatland here for free for context for that stuff.
They're adorable, your honor.
i still dont have zhanna pride hcs im sorry... i havent read the comics yet.. i will when i read them i promise
solly put off coming out as transfem to zhanna for ages but when she finally did zhanna was SO accepting... adjusted so fast to her new pronouns
solly literally had no idea being trans was an option. and it made so much sense when she found out. scout mentioned to the team he's transmasc as like an off comment and solly was just like "THATS AN OPTION?" /pos
Y'know Yuri fans are shockingly homophobic
You might not think so but god damn I've gotten death threats because I wrote yaoi shit. I actively feel safer writing yaoi because at least the comments section isn't filled with people being homophobic
Like I wrote something for a Yuri pair and deleted it because every comment was homophobic against the yaoi ship I liked.
"oh finally someone isn't writing that yaoi shit" dude... Leave my comment section
"these two girls have more chemistry than the stupid fags" bro why are you being homophobic under my fic?
LIKE BOTH ARE GAY 😭 HOW ARE YOU SO FUCKING HOMOPHOBIC
And then when I told them that I didn't want this hate on my comment THEY CALL ME A STUPID FUJOSHI "oh you're one of those annoying cishet white girls that only likes yaoi ships" EXCUSE ME?! And I'm not even exaggerating with these comments
First of all, I WROTE what you just read! YOU READ THE LESBIAN ROMANCE I WROTE WHAT DO YOU MEAN I ONLY LIKE YAOI?!
Second, I'm neither cis, white, or a woman. I'm nonbinary, Mexican, and I'M ARO/ACE.
And lastly, DON'T INSULT THE CREATOR OF A WORK YOU LIKE
FOR FUCKS SAKE MAKE IT MAKE SENSE
I don't care what prejudice you have. It's not my damn job to change your mind. I'm not your caretaker nor am I your parent.
I almost always write for myself and my friends. I don't need to post it. I can share the doc with my friends. I don't owe you shit. NO AUTHOR OWES YOU THEIR WRITING, so don't act like you reading my stuff is a damn honor! A damned homophobe's praise means shit to me
I love my readers. It makes me happy when people see my writing and like it as much as I do. I love it. But I will delete a whole fic is too many people don't behave
And that's what I did with the Yuri fic I wrote. I deleted it. It's in my notes app collecting dust. I read it for my own enjoyment and share it with friends if they ask.
I feel bad for the kind people that liked my work but I won't put myself through mental anguish just before some homophobic Yuri fans.
I might reupload the fic and delete and block any users that act that way. But currently I don't think I'm mentally prepared for that yet. (Maybe later for any of the nice people that like that pairing)
I won't stand by allow my writing to be whatever permission they think it is to be homophobic.
If you're going to be homophobic in my comment section GET THE FUCK OUT OR LEARN HOW TO SHUT THE FUCK UP
21 for the oc ask game,and congratulations!
Thank you! We've been pretty quiet about it on tumblr because it's been eating up 110% of our entire brains in every other part of our lives.
Very excited! But oh god the logistics leading in.
How does your OC handle relationships, platonic or otherwise? Do they forge bonds easily, or prefer to not get attached?
Benny is a deep classic romantic at heart. She's not terribly demonstrative with her feelings, but when she lets herself fall for someone, she falls fast and hard. She's prone to insecurities in her romantic life--she's ace and extremely sex-repulsed, sex is never going to be part of any of her romantic relationships, and that's a deal-breaker for a lot of people. She tends to hold back on letting herself fall for anyone if she's not...sure they mean it, when they say they understand what that means.
Rinda's courtship with her wife was deeply emotional and extremely quiet. They worked very, very well together in the field--with Rinda acting as her secret-keeper and sharing an intense mutual respect for one another's honor, courage, and kindness. Rinda saw how Talet acted around her apprentice-slash-ward, a traumatized young mage with debilitating anxiety and PTSD around using her own magic; Talet saw how Rinda handled herself, heard her talk about her kids and her late sister. They didn't make a move right away--but they kept in touch, arranged to work together again a few months later, and during a quiet moment in that adventure, they sat down and had the conversation they'd both known would need to happen.
It was a very honest, earnest, adult relationship from the start--tender beyond words, but not dramatic.
Rinda is much more demonstrative with her platonic relationships. She'll roughhouse with Talet's daughter, toss her own kids in the air, rib them and their respective partners; but with her wife, it's usually very quiet and soft and private.
Kite mostly-but-not-entirely left her family for ethical reasons, and is a walking disaster of a woman when it comes to romance. Mostly it's that she was.........it's kind of the gnollish equivalent of having been raised in a wealthy, very blandly American Protestant household. Nothing exciting, no crazy uncles dropping slurs at Thanksgiving dinner, but still very rigid in ways the family didn't even seem to notice. Gender roles enforced not by violence but by stifling homogeneity and constant very reasonable requests not to rock the boat or by persistent "confusion" and open discomfort and "concern" any time you deviate from an extremely narrow norm.
(The people who wholeheartedly believe that girls are just as good as boys! Girls can do anything boys can do! They would LOVE it if their little girl grew up to be a doctor or a scientist or a CEO or a cop! They say while equally cheerfully taking a toy horse out of their son's hands while explaining that no no sweetie, that's for girls, we'll get you a different one that's for boys instead? Flip the gendered expectations--gnolls are hyenas, so females are expected to be dominant and aggressive while males are meant to be submissive homemakers--and you've got Kite's family.)
So, she was raised in the privileged position in that kind of household. Her family wholeheartedly accepts and supports her being gay! But she herself was raised with....expectations for what romance looked like. She knows this about herself, that she's internalized a lot of normative bullshit, but that doesn't make it....easy, to stop being afraid.
Vulnerability is hard for her. She's the second-eldest daughter of a strong clan. She was meant to be strong, confident, desirable, her romance was meant to be her having her pick of any of the several pretty girls who'd be falling over themselves to catch her eye. She knows that's toxic and awful. She doesn't want it. But she doesn't....know how else to be. She's trying to learn.
