a/n: i’ve tried editing these as much as i can because MAN these stories are old lmao. However they aren’t entirely proof read!
warnings: slightly suggestive (bc jeonghans’ a menace) but reader doesn’t want that rn 🙄, otherwise pure fluff and appreciation
Dawn's light seeps through closed blinds, neither crisp nor a clear morning as droplets of rain mist themselves above homes and busy streets. If it weren't for the warm figure embracing your side, this morning would have begun much less desirable.
You shift in your spot, sheets lazily tangled between your legs. Carefully you unravel yourself as to not wake him, just cherishing the moments like these where you can embrace how truly peaceful he looks. Even as he’s lightly snoring with his mouth ajar. Gently, you place a knuckle from underneath the blankets to his face, stroking a soothing line across his jaw. The boy's head subconsciously nuzzles into your palm, feeling it's warmth radiate throughout his entire body. Within a few seconds his face heats into a soft blush, and if he were awake he'd scold himself for being so vulnerable, trying to hold back the thoughts of how easily he comes undone for you. From a single stroke of your palm you make him go shy, as he usually does whenever he spends his time with you. It opposes his state of ridicule and teasing, and would most certainly ruin his reputation if any of his friends were to see. However when he’s with you, Jeonghan really doesn’t mind.
He gently twitches his eyelids, pinpointing his gaze into yours.
"Hi Hannie."
“Hi sweetheart”.
He guides his arms around your waist, encasing you in the cocoon shape he's formed himself into. His eyes close once again, blindly caressing your nose with his own as you brush a few stray strands from his forehead, tucking them behind his ears. He hums at the contact, intertwining his leg in yours and you let out a little laugh, honeyed by the mornings raspiness on the tip of your throat.
God, those little laughs are what he lives for.
You dip your head a little more into his chest, taking in the way his sweatshirt releases his natural cologne with every caress. When he hugs himself around you, his heartbeat lulls you back into that light state of peace, forbidding to shelter anyone else's heart like he does for you. Jeonghans’ mind and soul are overflowing by his love, unable to take in anymore from anyone else.
His stomach on the other hand, was another story.
With a loud grumble and a quiet groan from himself, you snicker, leveling your face with his.
"Could we get something to eat?" he asks, convincing a part of you with his cheesy smile and gleaming eyes
"I don't really wanna move.” you half-innocently pout.
"I know you don't baby, and you look so pretty right now. But you know what else looks pretty? A nice stack of pancakes and syrup."
You continue to lay in his arms, stuffing your head deeper into the crook of his neck. It sets off the smallest tingle to his skin, inspiring him to coyly comeback at your idling.
"Or I could take a bite out of you." He smirks rather confidently, tracing his fingers lower against the dips in your hips. He can feel your face contort against his skin, and suddenly your motivation to start the day skyrockets.
You glimpse his joyous smirk appearing as you release yourself from his arms.
"Anything else with your pancakes?" You ask humorously, a raspy tone still in your voice as you approach the stairs. Jeonghan laughs as he follows your figure through the doorway, running his eyes down your body clothed in his large and longly-discarded t-shirt.
You’re his and he’s yours he relishes. The thought alone gives him all the energy he needs each day. Raising from your bed, he hurriedly tags along to meet you again, just as he always find himself doing.

Hiya! Sorry to bother, I really love SoH and I'm sure you hear this all the time but your writing is so amazing I can't help but come back and reread what's available just for fun! ♥
I have a small wonder, My main MC is going for exRed romance just full steam no eyes for anyone else and it's been a fun ride to watch them be so affectionate yet hesitant I gotta wonder though what the rest of the gang thinks having to watch their ridiculous dance? (I fully believe chase has a betting pool for when they get together.)
In Red's case, I think he's naturally affectionate/subtle/socially-mindful enough to not come off as stupidly over-the-top with his feelings in a really obvious or public way; because he's proceeding cautiously with an ex-MC and deliberately "feeling things out" without wanting to make them uncomfortable/make a fool out of himself, I don't think it'd be as obvious to others what's going on between him and MC unless they went to school with them both and witnessed the history there? (AKA Pan, Neon, etc.). For everyone else, it's:
Blade: literally doesn't think anything of it (unless he's also romantically interested in MC)--from his perspective, Red is equally friendly/comfortable/flirtatious with pretty much everyone, plus it would make sense that their being old friends/former lovers would come with certain closeness. In other words, he's not thinking about it
Trouble: took Red and MC at their word and just thinks they dated when they were teens, does not notice anything remarkable going on between them, but he can be naturally a bit dense in that area (though sometimes he isn't)
Tallys: oh my god just hook up already, the tension is starting to get under her skin lol she's of the camp that they should just jump each other and get it over with
Shery: she's 👀 and watching with bated breath, and subtly concocting excuses for them to be together, like "oh MC I needed to deliver a message to Red in his lab, but I'm "busy", could you please let him know so-and-so while I go do this other thing?"
Riel: he's actually broached the topic with Red before out of curiosity because the romantic tension was sooooo obvious to him: it was a really brief conversation because Red was caught so off-guard by Riel going "so are you going to tell MC you still have feelings for them/do you want to try things again?" that he just sort of looked at Riel blankly, but they sort of fumbled their way through a conversation where Red was sort of airing his thoughts/asking for advice and Riel was just like clinically listening?? and then they never talked about it again, lol. It's not like Riel ships them, he was just interested in what was going through Red's head at the time, and now he doesn't really care anymore, whatever happens is between them! but now and again Red will look up from subtle flirting with MC, catch Riel's eye, and Riel will have this unimpressed face like 🙄
Chase: gleefully has a (private) betting pool and trolls Red/the two of them as often as he possibly can without entering the zone of over-interference, much like an ecologist trying to observe a rare animal without over-affecting its natural behavior
Ayla: she notices if she's romantically interested in MC, but otherwise shelves their behavior as "things exes/old friends must do, which I wouldn't have any personal experience with, so I guess that makes sense to me" and doesn't give much romantic significance to the way they act around each other, that just must be how it is! 🤷🏻♀️ She'd be really surprised if someone like Lavinet was like, "Oh, darling, they are obviously still mad about each other..." Ayla: "oh, I just thought their whole thing was how all former lovers who stayed friends acted." Lavinet and Briony: noooooo
Briony: she is peak shipper for ex!Red and MC, she picks up on things right away and is watching both of them with her ponytail whipping back and forth like she's at a tennis match 👀, she's squealing and swooning internally every time they smile over a book together and is like barely keeping things together out of respect to them...
Lavinet: she's amused and intrigued by what's going on, ex-lovers who reunite years later is so inherently romantic, it's like something out of a drama!!! She's smirking and making sly comments here and there to sort of nudge things along now and then, but otherwise she subscribes to the "leave no trace" observing from a distance mentality rather than an active interference (unless her interference is specifically requested, in which case she's all hands on deck)!
Halek: didn't even realize they're exes, I think because no one told him or he wasn't paying attention, he just thinks they're Like That (as in, they want to bang each other, obviously, he just figures they're dragging their feet about it because they work together or something)

Where's Daryl?
This was very difficult to write. It opened up a lot of old wounds for me, so if you read this, thank you. If my thoughts on this show haven’t been your cup of tea, that’ll most definitely be the case here as well, so maybe just move along. ***Trigger warning for discussion of childhood abuse***
For about a year and a half, Caryl fans asked Where's Carol? as a pointed reminder that the spinoff was always meant to be hers just as much as it was Daryl’s. Even though she's back now, her fans didn't always know she would be (nor did the EP's 🙄) so her absence during filming and promotion of the first season was a heavy burden to bear. The irony is, though “Daryl Dixon” sticks out like a sore thumb in that ridiculous font, he's the one who feels absent sometimes, as if important parts of his character development were lost when he washed ashore while other parts come and go as the plot demands.
Zabel talks about swapping Daryl's iconic vest for "old man" suspenders as a matter of pragmaticism i.e. they were the only clean clothes available. Norman says it was a choice he wanted for some unclear reason, but neither of them seem to consider the intelligence of their audience, particularly Carylers, to see it more symbolically. The costume change is our visual reminder that Daryl isn't himself. In some scenes he's chattier than he should be, far more trusting of strangers with personal details, and far more theatrical. Then in others, the differences are even more alarming. He calls a child cruel names, puts his hands on him, and feels conflicted about returning home to his family, to the woman he said he loved.
I mentally prepared myself for retcons, but the one I'm struggling with a lot right now, which I haven't seen anyone bring up yet, is the retcon of Daryl’s childhood abuse. Daryl tells Isabelle that he and Merle had to take apart engines and if they couldn't put them back together, their dad wouldn't let them have dinner. It's a milder version of the stories the scars on his back tell us, though I can buy Daryl omitting the worst of it like he did in the pilot. What I can't buy is Daryl saying his dad was "hardly ever" around and emphasizing it as the main source of his pain growing up. It feels contradictory for one thing. When we see Daryl's scars for the first time in S3 of the flagship show, it's implied Daryl was trapped in an environment that enabled his dad to physically hurt him often. Presumably that's why Merle felt guilty about leaving him behind. The revelation also seems like it's only intended to highlight the consequences of an absent father figure, explaining Daryl's fear of not making it home, but also justifying his "close" bond with Laurent. The best stories allow a character's emotions to drive the plot, but this just does the opposite, twisting Daryl's backstory to fit the current narrative.
Daryl's backstory made so many people root for him in the first place. It allowed Carol to see him when nobody else in the group could. It helped me process my own childhood trauma. The ways I got to watch him overcome his violent past gave me hope that masculinity could mean more than what I grew up around—more than anger, shouting, and swinging fists. Daryl taught me that men could still be tender, kind, and loving even if those closest to them in their childhood never showed them how. I imagine Daryl's representation has been important to boys and men too, specifically to those who were afraid to speak up about their abuse because of the stigma around it. The implications of this scene may not be easily noticeable to some, but they are to me, and I'm deeply offended by it.
I’ve talked at length on this blog about how it takes a village to make or break a show, though it’s usually the showrunner who has to answer for it. I've already mentioned that I do blame Zabel. His knowledge of French history has no value when he obviously didn’t bother to study Daryl’s history aside from reading old scripts and (maybe) watching the first couple seasons. That's incredibly irresponsible and terrifying for S2. I also blame AMC for their short-sightedness and their determination to save face no matter how much it costs them. I blame Gimple for his pettiness. I blame Greg Nicotero for his insensitivity to Melissa and her fans.
As for Norman, he's hinted very loudly that he wants credit for the show being "different," so in theory he should be prepared to take some of the blame too. I can't name all of the decisions he specifically made, but no matter what they were, I can blame him for not speaking up about the shipbaiting, Daryl's wavering loyalty, and the childhood abuse retcon, all things that hurt his character and hurt the fans. I genuinely don't know what else to think other than Norman didn't give either the consideration they deserve. The show has been treated like nothing more than a vanity project, and it’s unfortunate when you think about what he and AMC had to gain from the original Caryl spinoff.
I love the version of Daryl I knew before this whole mess, I love Carol, and I love the relationship between them. I want them to have the story they deserve in S2. At the moment, I don’t know how to reconcile that with the agony I feel over the damages to half of my two favorite characters. If Carol is going to cross the Atlantic ocean to find Daryl, I want him to be the man who threatened to punch holes in all the boats so she couldn’t leave and the man who told her he loved her before—ironically—leaving himself. I need to hear Daryl admit he hasn't been completely honest with the French characters, not because he was afraid of getting too close to them, but because he didn't want to face the pain of potentially living without Carol and TF. I need to hear him say that he can't be Laurent's father, which is okay because the kid has plenty of other family to take care of him. I need to hear him say, out loud, that he could never love another woman romantically because he's already in love with Carol. That's what I need to feel better about this story. That's where my investment is. I feel like Carol is safe in Melissa's hands, but I don't feel like I have anyone to rely on for Daryl. That’s a big problem because their stories are so intertwined. There’s no Daryl without Carol nor Carol without Daryl. If you ruin one of them, you risk ruining both of them, and that’s a possibility I really can’t bear.

So glad it wasn’t just me who noticed the lack of Eddie in that promo 😑 and the only shots focused on him were like old footage from s2 and 3. None of his s5 breakdown or hostage situation badassery or May Day cool moments (like smashing the glass with the fire extinguisher), not even any of his sassy faces from s6. And not a single line of dialogue from him. My motivation to watch s7 dropped about 10 points. The shot of buck and death doula didn't help either 😑

I noticed the lack of Eddie immediately then I watched the promo again to make sure I didn't miss him but I realized I was right the first time. I was pissed they didn't include any of Eddie's badassery from all the seasons he's been on the show. Let's check notes on how Bad Ass Cool Under Pressure "Sexy Eddie Diaz" is for a minute.
First and foremost, Eddie Diaz is the best dad there is. He's been raising Chris and he sacrifices EVERYTHING for him!
He removed a live grenade from a man's leg and everyone who doesn't remember should realize EDDIE WAS GOING TO GO INTO THE AMBULANCE BY HIMSELF!
(I can't find the GIF I made of him doing the damn thing but if anyone wants to see it, they can watch 2x1 to see sexy Eddie do it because he's the one who KNEW THE ORDINANCE.)
The man was trapped in a well and swam to safety on his own while the team was above ground trying to figure out what to do to save him.
He was shot by a sniper.
He was held hostage by an escaped convict.
He had a mental breakdown and went to therapy to get better.
He climbed a 70-foot ladder to rescue Buck after he WAS CATAPULTED OFF THE BASE OF THE TRUCK WITHOUT BEING HARNESSED IN!
But the season 7 promo didn't include any of that.
What else does Eddie have to do to get some damn respect?
It was my main issue with season 6 and it looks like they're going to repeat history and it appears Past will be Prologue for them because they continue to ignore Eddie, Bobby and Chimney. They weren't in the promo that much either but you know who was, Buck's ridiculously short-term love interest ND who's been around for like 2 minutes. It's season 5 all over again, ND is the new TK and I'm not here for it.
They didn't even show Karen, Denny or that much of Ravi in the promo. Or Josh or Linda and these ARE ALL RECURRING CHARACTERS WHO'VE BEEN ON THE SHOW FOR YEARS!
I'm so sick of this BS. They never treat Eddie right and they've been sidelining him for too long. And for those who always holler, "Eddie had a big storyline in season 5" the amount of screen time he receives shouldn't have anything to do with that and if we're being HONEST, all of Eddie's scenes are made to be about Buck and his reaction to Eddie being hurt. Also, Eddie's scenes are usually crammed into the last 5 minutes of the episode and are rarely given the attention they deserve.
HE'S A MAIN CHARACTER BUT THEY KEEP SIDELINING HIM! But they sure don't have a problem giving Buck a lot of recurring characters for his gazillion storylines. Hell, he had 7 in season 6 alone but all they gave Eddie was some raggedy dating storyline and set him up with a chick who's more in love with her brother. 🙄
It would have been better if they would have included ONLY THE MAIN CAST AND LEFT ND OUT OF IT. SHE SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN INCLUDED AND I'LL KEEP SCREAMING IT AND NO ONE IS GOING TO STOP ME!
FREE EDDIE DIAZ FROM 9-1-1'S RIDICULOUS SIDELINES AND GIVE HIM THE SCREEN TIME HE DESERVES.

It's actually made me re-think some things, and the Vogue shoot hopped into my memory. It was SO queer-coded and intimate. Way more than I remember. Just two women being domestic together and loving each other, and yeah...to think that it was presented as just "GALS BEING BEST PALS" is super sad and extremely gaslighty. I mean...there's even a photo of the two wearing white dresses together.
“….and they were roommates.” Or gal pals 🙄 Tale as old as time. It’s called Lesbian Visibility for a reason, it’s still too often that people ask me if we’re sisters when I’m out with a girl even if I’m holding her hand or sitting with my arm around her… I was in a straight passing relationship for 9 years and never once got asked that question. Queer celebrities could do so much to change that perception in society, but their platform is the hardest of all to be queer in without being slaughtered or losing your career.
I get that nobody owes the world a service even if they have a platform and could bring change. But I was so conflicted about the whole ‘Taylor and Karlie BFFs’ narrative. On one hand, they seemed really happy with this and we would never have seen this gorgeous love story if it had forever remained behind closed doors. But on the other hand, given their massive pop cultural relevance, they were setting a completely false standard for friendships vs wlw relationships. It was literally thrown in my face thousands of miles away on another continent. Just because I was a girl in a relationship with another girl and somebody else with a bigger audience than me was telling the world that women who hold hands, hold each other and go on romantic getaways together are just friends. I can’t deny that I was annoyed by that and when their vogue story came out I was all WTF YOU GUYS because (like you said) it was the gayest shit ever and the impact that could have had on lesbian visibility if they’d done it as a couple… huge. I can’t quite describe why it impacted me so much, but as a queer kid we already don’t get the Disney movies to show our stories, finally there was a real life fairytale right in front of me and I couldn’t even openly enjoy it because people would say “they’re just friends, don’t be ridiculous!” That’s why this online community is really nice to share that joy with.
So, bottom line, yes it was nice to see them together, but if they are publicly reuniting in the future, there better be a plan for a friends to lovers narrative, I’d rather not have those conversations again that that’s not how friends look at each other…

All of this is really important, and because I didn't touch on a lot of this in my post, I really want to highlight it in its own post.
People have a fundamental misunderstanding of D/s dynamics (and BDSM in general), of top/bottom dynamics, and the impact of trauma on one's sexual expression.
These misunderstandings and misrepresentations come from a lack of education in these topics (often taking unhealthy depictions of these dynamics in erotic fiction as fact and never looking further), combined with social expectations, are deeply rooted in heteronormativity, homophobia, sexism, and ableism.
Where does "who's the man and who's the woman?" which is targeted at visibly queer couples come from? It's an inability to conceive of "acceptable" sexual roles outside of:
Woman: to be submissive and be the one penetrated, both are inherently degrading and dehumanizing
Man: to be dominant and be the one penetrating, anything else is inherently emasculating and "womanly"
and applying these harmful and narrow gendered expectations to all couples regardless of gender/actual preferences, while stigmatizing and shaming anyone who does not fit this mold (look how people talk about men who like getting 'pegged').
Especially in M/M relationships, the ridiculousness and oppressiveness of these expectations and assumptions is clear once you have done the internal work to understand sex isn't bound by this binary.
Bottoming or being submissive (since these two don't always go hand in hand, bottoms can be dominant and tops can be submissive, and you can bottom or top without there behind D/s dynamics involved at all) isn't inherently womanly or degrading, it's just a way of participating in and enjoying sex.
Topping or being dominant isn't inherently manly or empowering, it's just a way of participating in and enjoying sex.
Disabled people are often stripped of our ability to be allowed to exist as sexual beings, we are seen as undesirable and/or as incapable of enjoying or being an active participant in sex.
Disabled men whose disabilities lead to them physically not fitting into social expectations of what a man "should" look like are often heavily emasculated and denied the possibility they could take a dominant role, especially if their partner is able-bodied.
The conversation around D/s dynamics and trauma recovery is incredibly nuanced.
Trauma survivors can still enjoy bottoming and sexual submission after trauma (not all survivors do and I do not want to erase their existence), but there is a strong resistance to and stigmatization of the people for who this is true due to the assumption that it's degrading.
Many trauma survivors find healing, empowerment and enjoyment in handing over the reins to someone they trust in a controlled environment that relies on their total consent. It also heavily relies on healthy/open communication between partners and following D/s play with aftercare.
There is a lot of information out there on the benefits of healthy exploration of kink on recovery. It's important that, instead of making assumptions on the impacts of trauma on sexual expression, people listen to the lived experiences of survivors.

I find really ridiculous that some fans angry that Steve almost kill Peter in CW. They bashing steve for almost killed peter
Okey one how he knows Peter is a teenager, yeah Peter voice sound young and Steve called him kid, but in remember Steve calling Wanda a kid too, or whoever in age 20s. So Steve probably thinking Peter like 20s.
Also Peter wear mask, Steve didn't know Peter literally a teenager, even rodey questioning Peter age when he made star wars reference.
Honestly if Steve accidentally killed Peter it will be on Tony because he brought him to battle field.
Luckily for Peter team cap really trying hard not hurt team iron, while team iron look like not care if they made team cap got hurt or getting killed. I meant seriously team iron they really not care property damage and someone getting killed.
I think I mentioned this in another ask, but Steve measured Peter's strength in a previous scene. This one 👇
He knew Peter could lift that tank, he never tried to kill him. Honestly, anyone who thinks Steve would have ever done something like that doesn't understand his character at all. (Also, Sam and Buck were in comms, they could have told Steve about Spidey)
Not only people should be angry that Stark recruited a kid to battle, the very FIRST thing Steve does is try to talk it out. It's Stark and Rhodey the ones who begin the fight because they refused to listen to what Steve was telling them. I kinda blame the Russos for that because at that point after knowing him for so long it makes no sense that the team would disregard him so quickly, as if Steve went around making stupid decisions on the daily? 🙄
If Pete got hurt in that battle, that's on Stark. No one else.

Your intuition is useless. it is genuinely aggravating to watch and see people like timothee chalamat and jacob elordi get almost a pat on the back for doing terrible things. just because the internet dubs them as "it boys" or "baby girls" so it's impossible to hold them accountable.
like timothee can make a disgusting joke about a genocide, and not even give the slightest of shits to even apologize and recognize what he said was awful. jacob elordi can seemingly be involved in an ongoing investigation where he allegedly assaulted someone (not to even mention other rumors that go around about him).
but still in the year of 2024, nearly three years after the initial viral clips of austin's voice he would and is still more condemned for that, then anything said about jacob or timothee. (this isn't even mentioning women and people of colour that have been harassed on social media).

changing my bedroom
I don’t like change, the rooms in my house included.
But I’ve had this giant hand-me-down bedroom set for years. It’s too heavy for me to move to clean and I can’t get anybody to help.
I recently got a new mattress and it’s amazing, but I wasn’t planning on changing anything else.
I have asthma and allergies, and even though I have an air cleaner running in my room every night, it can only do so much when I can’t get a vacuum under the bed or behind and under the chest of drawers and nightstands (yes even the nightstands are ridiculously heavy).
So yesterday my mom was like you know you don’t have to keep those just because they’re hand-me-downs right?!
The thought hadn’t occurred to me (yay schizophrenic brain that gets stuck in boxes) that I could get rid of a bedroom set just because it doesn’t work for me instead of waiting for it to fall apart.
So yesterday I tore the bed apart and got all the pieces out of my bedroom and did a big cleaning. It took five hours to get the stupid bedroom set dismantled and out to the garage.
My bed is on the floor until the new frame arrives, but I’m super excited about the frame because it’s lightweight (super easy to move for cleaning) but made to withstand 3500 pounds. Like seriously they showed a car on top of this thing.
It wasn’t nearly as expensive as I thought it would be.
BTW why has cost of living gone up to unbearable levels but beds and frames are NOTHING compared to what they were when my parents were my age?! seriously the mattress alone was $1200 25 years ago (adjusted for inflation that’s $2300) and my new mattress was $250.
I have blankets thumb-tacked to all four walls in my bedroom to dampen sound from outside -- noisy neighborhood and sleeping like a paranoid schizophrenic means I wake up so so so much.
I took those blankets down and instead of tacking them back up (because it’s hard to wash them regularly) I’m going to hang them on curtain rods on the walls.
The room feels so much lighter already!
One of these days maybe I’ll realize some change is good and actively change things instead of stumbling into it without meaning to🙄
