Your Potential.
Ok now for the lore, came up with most of this just thinking one night about the arrow:
The Requiem Arrow:
it can be activated just by simply cutting yourself with it or stabbing yourself with it (as we see done with Giorno.). However, there are a couple complications in doing this, it could work, you could get a requiem stand but it may result in your stand rejecting & acting against you, if you're not mentally strong enough to control it (Polnareff, prime example), if it doesn't work depending on how you use the arrow on yourself, like if you stabbed yourself, you could just die & that would be the end. Anyway, I was thinking about fugio & insecurities in their own selves & how that can bleed into their relationship, Giorno becoming mildly obsessed with strength & weakness. GER is like, no doubt, one of the most damn OP stands in Jojo, so it's not like he has to worry too much about himself, but he worries obsessively about his remaining loved ones not being able to protect themselves or he won't be there to protect them. As he believes he failed to do in Golden Wind, and this is especially protected onto fugo... SO i imagined like a big scene where Giorno pulls fugo in close & he's doting on him per usual, he tells Fugo how much he loves him and how much he wants him to be well & all, as he's talking to him he slowly pulls the arrow from his back and then stabs Fugo with the Arrow.
Giorno thinks he’s helping fugo "realize his potential", they're becoming "stronger together", Polpo with his test awakened Purple Haze in Fugo; and now Giorno wants to bring out something better.
The great thing about giving your hero an insane powerup is that you can make them addicted & dependant on them.
Some more food for thought:
Everything Giorno does is because it's what HE thinks is just & right, it's repeated over and over again that he fights for the dream he believes is just. But this, to him, is the first time he's done something out of love' he loves fugo, doesn't really care if what he's doing is the most 'just' way, he loves him and he wants him to be strong with him, even at the cost of what he thinks will be just a little pain, a little inconvenience. It’s for the overall good.
TLDR; giorno stabs fugo with the arrow in the name of love, whether Fugo survives it or not is…. Up to you?
Also, the fact that fugo was being held by Giorno, somewhere he feels safe & comforted, he feels loved in his arms. And when you get stabbed with the arrow, what manifests is what you desire most in that moment and… Heh hehe hehe.

people are so quick to laugh at other people for taking extremely loaded and upsetting representation in media ~too seriously~, but also conflate the words of some of the most powerless marginalized people with censorship by the FUCKING US GOVERNMENT. it’s so disingenuous it’s so silencing it’s so fucking shitty
it also very much feels like the cultural moment we’re in right now, where bringing up issues rooted in deep irl power structures is automatically written off as oversensitive and reactionary. it’s just media, until it’s an example from real life—then it’s just not that serious, or it’s childish to draw those connections, or it’s censorship to bring it up in the first place. allusions to irl violence are chump change but irl violence is always an isolated incident. and no one cares that this attitude magically seems to exclusively benefit the extremely conservative worldview that holds power
like lmfao no i don’t think it’s your right or anyone’s right to cover your eyes to obviously shitty offensive media writing laden with cultural baggage…. so that you can ~just enjoy it~! does this say nothing about you when you jump to silence the critiques of folks who noticed the harmful shit that went over your head? hot take… media is actually made and consumed by human beings who live in a society

WHICH SYMBOLIC FRUIT ARE YOU?
Cherry. (Man, this is going to need some tag rambling; because while it's what I suspected and it's very fitting in many ways, I need to address one element).
In popular culture, cherries have come to represent sensuality, sex, and seduction. In the cult classic, Twin Peaks, Audrey Horne expresses her sexual expertise by tying a cherry stem with her tongue. "Cherry" is also used to refer to the concept of virginity: why? I don't know to be honest, but here we are. Much like the cherry, you're a sensual person who enjoys all the creature comforts the world offers. You enjoy delicious food, dynamic relationships, passionate lovemaking and stimulating conversation; however, you may also come across a touch vapid or shallow, due to your quickly fading attention when something has served its usefulness to you. To quote some man on tinder: "you're here for a good time, not a long time". You can come across, at times, slightly tart, carrying a bit of a bite to you that not everyone can handle. That’s okay: you’re an acquired taste!

Their first kiss happens one evening at Jonathan’s house. They are in his bedroom and Jonathan wanted Argyle to hear this band he was really into. They are sitting on the floor by Jonathan’s speakers. They had just shared a joint. Argyle is doodling on Jonathan’s skateboard.
Jonathan is lost in the music. Argyle isn’t super into the first track on the record but he is enjoying seeing Jonathan get into it.
It isn’t until the fifth track starts that Jonathan speaks and says this one is his favorite. He turns the volume up a little louder. Argyle puts the board aside to give all of his attention to Jonathan. The opening notes are softer than the previous tracks. And Argyle has no idea what the woman singing is saying but he is enjoying it much more than others. He watches Jonathan for a bit. His eyes are closed and there is a content smile on his face. Argyle doesn’t even think the music swells along with his heart and he leans in to kiss Jonathan.
Jonathan eyes open and he has a look of surprise on his face but that passes quickly as a large smile breaks out on Jonathan’s face. He reaches out to Argyle and kisses him back with everything he’s got.
Argyle may not like Cocteau Twins as much as Jonathan and he doesn’t understand a word of what she is singing. But Pearly Dewdrops Drops will forever be one of his favorite songs.
