I’m slowly but surely replying to all the old stuff, so once again, thank you for being patient..!

It is a good question, Anon. It’s a bit difficult to answer because I look at the cast and go “but I want everyone to do everything” lol, but I still tried my best to narrow it down a little.

Soooo.

Riddle kind of prefers missionary, at least it feels the most proper to him, but once he is forced to try something different, he’ll be amazed by how much better it feels for him. He’ll never admit that though. Ace prefers doggie, Deuce prefers missionary, and this is a source of conflict for these two. Ace also wants Deuce to do the cowgirl thing, but Deuce refuses: it’s too embarrassing. Trey is a bit of a dark horse, but he actually enjoys missionary too. Cater is always the most difficult for us to talk about, but for some reason I feel like he is a doggie guy.

The Savanaclaw guys prefer doggie in general (even though Ruggie likes to get scratches on his back from his partner), but Jack is actually more of a missionary guy. He just loves hugging and kissing, I guess, but the wolf inside him still makes him choose doggie as a default option.

Azul would enjoy cowgirl in theory, it would make him feel powerful + doesn’t require as much stamina from him, but in practice he is too much of a control freak to let anyone do anything, so he actually likes the missionary position more. The tweels are an interesting case, because they are kind of unhinged when it comes to sex positions, especially Floyd. Floyd just does whatever he feels like, and a lot of times the position he chooses is kind of uncomfortable. He also loves to lift his partner and fuck him against the wall. Jade is pretty much the same way, but I’ll note that he really loves seeing his partner’s face when he tortures I mean fucks him.

Kalim loves is when his partner sits on his dick, but he rolls around a lot, so there is no way he won’t change positions a bunch of times. Jamil, to his own embarrassment, really likes it when he is being taken from behind.

Vil has enough stamina and athletic ability to perform a cowgirl, and he controls his muscles very well, so it’d feel amazing for his partner. But he actually loves changing positions during the intercourse, leaning towards the doggie though. Rook loves kissing and hugging, but he is more animalistic that one would expect, so his go-to is doggie. But he also made it his goal to have sex in every possible position, and he is currently going through the list…

Epel is the type to try to do a cowgirl just to prove a point, get tired because this is much more difficult than he anticipated. He’ll end up getting fucked in a missionary position though, which is good, because he enjoys feeling the weight of a big guy on top of himself.

Idia loves doggie because he can hide his face that way. Of course, the colour of his hair makes his reactions way too obvious anyway, but still… there is some comfort, at least. But his back gets tired, so sometimes he gets finished off in a missionary position. Ortho does literally whatever his heart desires, he is one of the “I want to do every pose” squad. He downloaded a lot of data for that, and all.

Malleus prefers missionary, he really really enjoys maximizing the connection between himself and his partner, so hugs, kisses, hand-holding, it’s on. Sebek prefers missionary too, at least when he is with Malleus: the thought of taking his liege in such a shameful and degrading position that is doggie is too insulting to even think about. Malleus wouldn’t get insulted though…

Lilia is similar to the tweels: he does whatever he wants, but quite enjoys the degrading aspect of whatever position he chooses. He would grab the neck, pull the hair, stuff like that.

Silver probably doesn’t have a favourite pose, he’ll do whatever his partner chooses to do. He is also quite good at cowgirl and has a great stamina for it. And it’s not like he prefers it, but it’s more difficult for him to fall asleep if he is doing something, so…

1. Art programs you have but don't use? I don’t think I have one! I’ve been playing on Photoshop for so long, though I’m thinking on getting Clip Paint Studio for comics at one point!

2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)? Mmmm, often find I draw folks looking to the left, but wouldn’t say I prefer one way or the other, especially when I’m flipping the canvas at least three times to make sure they’re all even!

3. What ideas come from when you were little? Mmm, lots of fantasy things, I have this old story about the green man that I made when I was 16 and it’s been rolling and remade ever since! It really needs another go other, it was my first dip into anything non cisgender before I knew, y’know?

4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw? Mmm, probably cars. Hate drawing cars, so annoying.

5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself? Ohhh, probably, 80%, but that’s what happens when you’re chronically online like me lol

10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw? Mmm, love a big floofy skirt or shirt, all those folds, very hard but so satisfying when I get rolling

12. Easiest part of body to draw? Mmm, eyes n’ mouth? I wanted to get good at them ever since I was a kid, cause they’re the expressive bits! I want to get better at Hands, the gay part of the body.

13. A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing? I honestly can’t think of any? I guess I try n see the good in any art, even if it’s not my vibe; the colours, the lines… There’s always something

15. *Where* do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth)? At home! I try and keep Digital art to my desk, but If I’m doing ink art for fun, it’s on my bedroom floor, praying that I don’t mess the carpet

20. Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy? Mmmmmm, mouths and hair?

21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways? Ohhh, mmm, lineless art! the amount of effort that goes into it, love it!

27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with? Iiii should be doing it more! But it’s usually a pretty lady with voluminous hair and fangs, it’s a good go to!

For the fandom ask game, for Tiger & Bunny: could I please have 1, 3, 12, 22 for *rolls mental dice* Antonio and Ryan, and 23, please? 😊🩷

Alrighty! 1: OTP This is honestly a tricky one for both men, and people may be surprised by the answer. Who I pair Antonio with may change later since I still need to read the Manga, but I do picture him as having a 'buried so deep he doesn't acknowledge it' crush on Kotetsu and used to have one on Tomoe as well but of course kept his lips shut (which also answers the OT3 question for him as well haha). With *just* the anime taken into account, his crush on Agnes isn't belivable, you 100% need supplementary material to even have his 'I'm trying to get *Agnes* a gift' thing at the end of S2 come across as believable and not just a cheap expectation divergence for the sake of it. So right now it's kind of, no OTP for him, but Antonio/Kotetsu is crammed into a little box in the corner in my head. As for Ryan, I don't ship him with anyone too strongly bc the only 'older' (aka mid 30s at youngest in my head) women in the show are Agnes and Nathan, and whilst either could be interesting in theory I don't think it would work out for either of them lol. I'm a Ryan Milf Hunter truther, meaning I don't ship him with Karina at all. Like, I dunno man, him flirting with her mother right in front of her is kinda sending clear signals to me. Someone please write Golden Ryan x MILF!Reader fics I think that would be funny.

3: NoTP This one is also tricky. I classify a NOTP as something that is able to render me physically uncomfortable if discussed, which aside from some generally obvious child / adult ships and similar ships in here, I don't think I have that reaction to anything. Closest is for Antonio is that I think Ivan is allowed to have a crush on him but Antonio would like, nephew-zone him, much like how Kotetsu has niece-zoned Karina at least twice now. And similarly while not exactly an NOTP for Ryan, I again just don't see him with Karina, she's not in the age bracket he's interested in; too young.

12: Funniest/Craziest AU? Honestly there's not a lot of AUs I can think of that revolve specifically around a character. Antonio has a bit of a sad one I have saved for him so it's not applicable here, but for Ryan I *did* write a fic where he and Ivan go to the beach bc he wants to help Ivan 'hunt for babes', that was pretty fun to write. Molly comes with, btw. But I don't consider that an AU bc I tried to keep it canon compliant, so...yeah, don't have much for ryan, at the moment.

22: Give us a HC Antonio - He's secretly semi-fluent in Japanese because he wanted to learn due to being friends with Kotetsu and Tomoe and wanting to communicate with them in private when in public (at least when in Sternbild). Ryan - Everyone seems to make fun of just how *fake* of a shade of yellow his hair is, but it's also very hard to get it to that colour if your hair is naturally dark (everyone remember Morita's The Live Incident? Bleached his hair so hard by best he could achieve was some cherry red-brown). Naturally, Ryan is a Platinum Blond like Ivan is, but with the colour being so un-vibrant combined with Ryan's desire to stand out, he dyes it a horrific yellow.

23: Has Fav ship changed overtime? Across all fandoms and my time being alive, certainly. As a young kid I got into Avatar, as one does, and something both outright turned me off from Katara with Aang and hooked me on Katara with Zuko. I don't know, I think it's just a difference of how chemistry can be forced in terms of writing. Tunnel of Love is the bane of like 8yo me's existence is all i'm gonna say.

Next I moved onto sonic and oh man there were so many goddamn ships. Sticking strictly to Canon on Canon, I think my first fav sonic ship was Tails and Cream, and currently it's Sonic with either Blaze or Knuckles (though for Sonaze specifically I view it as starcrossed and I do have a fic idea on exploring that *evil laughs*). If anyone wants a thicker rundown of the sonic ship timeline feel free to ask for 23 again and state sonic only lolll

Then I caved into despair like lord Enoshima would have wanted and got a double whammy of Hetalia and Danganronpa around the same timeframe. For Hetalia, you can rip the old bickering married couple of France and England from my cold dead hands, and then I had several for Danganronpa but the one I think I championed for the hardest out of sheer 'it's getting drowned out by the less interesting shit' was Shuichi x Kaito. Like, my guys, Shuichi catches HIS GAY THOUGHTS ON KAITO IN THE MIDDLE OF AN FTE. I genuinely don't know how other ships have stronger bases bc of that one moment. But also, that would require the DR fandom to know how to read, so (/j).

And then came Persona 5. So many good ships in here, I still adore stuff like Joker with both Yusuke and Ryuji, and I also got a soft spot for Ryuji with Yusuke or Haru. (In fact I have an AU fic I promise I havent abandoned abt Ryukita. The two men are early 20s in the fic with jobs and Ryuji is even a single father.)

And now we arrive at present time, where these petty argument idiots have taken over my brain, send help. Honourable mention will have to go to Keith with Cis bc that episode completley destroyed me it's like a brain worm and I cannot pluck it out.

favorite time of the year: umm this time actually!!! it is usually very hot during the day but I like the nights when it's windy, i can hear the trees moving at night from my window and just standing in the wind reminds me of my childhood and better times T.T also i really like when fall starts (around early september) - at least till i was a uni student, it meant starting over and planning and looking forward to things (and early fall also means my birthday hehe) !!!

comfort food: it has to be khichdi and dahi (khichdi = rice cooked with a bunch of vegetables + spices and dahi = plain yogurt)

do you collect something: umm not really, but i do buy a journal/notebook every time i see a good one and don't ever write in them. i also like to collect the smallest souvenirs from the places i have visited (like little trinkets, bells, small wind chimes etc)

favorite drink: currently it's mocha latte with hazelnut syrup (specifically at this cafe and by these 2 specific baristas only lol) but i am trying to cut off caffeine so instead i just drink water 🧘‍♀️ H2O is my fav

current favorite song: troll by iu ft. dean and raat humari toh by swanand kirkire + k s chithra !!

favorite colour: i was going to say blue cause it has been my favourite for a long time but i have a loooot of pink things so i am going to say pink

w/ Kuroo, Kenma, Lev, Yaku and Yamamoto - gn! reader

RAINBOW masterlist!

Okay, so we’re starting with the amazing scheming captain

He is literally the most wonderful boyfriend and will make sure you’re alright and show you off all the time

But recently he’s been really stressed with nationals coming up and the workload of almost heading into uni

One day he gets back from volleyball practice - Lev was being super annoying and managed to spill water everywhere which he had to clean up and Yamamoto has slammed into him when spiking

So to say the least, he was very angry

You felt that ✨ v i b e ✨coming from him

So, as his ever so wonderful s/o, you walked up to him to comfort him

He was still by the doorway taking off his shoes, he didn’t even bother to call out your name

He probably didn’t notice you either, too busy in his thoughts

So then, when you touch him, he jolts

You ask him what’s wrong

He tells you to back off

You ignore him cause you have to be there for him through thick and thin

That really pisses him off more that he already was and that was the last straw for his patience

This boi was sick of life, he was annoyed and angry

He starts going off at you, telling you how you’re so bad and stuff

This makes you cry, first the sniffles, but he’s too busy ranting to realise your glossy eyes

You start full on crying, running back to your bedroom

He realises you ran off and finally snaps out of it

He feels rlly bad and apologises

You don’t forgive him cause it really hurt you

So he decides to make it up to you, not through whatever way you’re thinking rn, talking to yer perves out there lol

He buys you lots of gifts, devotes all his time to you, takes you on dates, uses dumb science pick up lines on you

Eventually you cave in to his charms and forgive him

Even so, he still apologises again, even tho you assured him you forgive him

He doesn’t want a repeat of that to EVER happen again

Normally he’s a rlly chill dude

The two of you almost never get into fights

Even when you do, he almost always immediately caves in

He just can’t be bothered to fight back cause he knows your always right

He has huge respect for u

But this time you decide to scold him again

He doesn’t think you’re very right

You’re talking about how video games aren’t important and he’s too obsessed with them

Although he loves you, he’s gotta stick by his video games

Very loyal boi to his video games

So, he finally decides to speak up for himself, tired of your blabbering

“You don’t have any right to decide how I spend my time!”

He didn’t mean to say it that loud

At first, you’re lowkey shook

Kenma legit never raises his voice

You must’ve hit a nerve

You feel bad

But to protect your pride, you continue on arguing

Soon, you realise your arguments are ridiculous

They aren’t even good and don’t even make sense

Yet, you stalk off to blow off some steam at the park

There you meet Kuroo

He gives you some advice on what you should do

After all, he has been Kenma’s friend since forever

You follow his advice

And you wait for a day before you do it cause ur still kinda mad ngl

You guys don’t sleep together that day

And you can’t sleep without him

So you stayed up all night, not even a wink of sleep

You missed his warmth

So first thing at like 4 am (he had to get up early for volleyball practice which was at like 5) you went to his room and stood against the wall waiting

When he FINALLY wakes up, you immediately begin apologising

He can’t even make out what you’re saying

I mean, after all, he just woke up

He sees your eyebags and is rlly worried

Asks you about what happened to you

You sheepishly admit you didn’t sleep

He frowns at you and pulls you into the bed with him

You sleep like a baby and he’s happy

The two of you compromise :))

Lev and you always fight over the stupidest things

That’s guaranteed

You were manager for Nekoma

They were currently practicing after school

And here the two of you were

In the middle of the volleyball court, bickering like idiots

The two of you are so lucky that Yaku and Kuroo haven’t arrived yet

Surprisingly Kenma is already here, but he makes no move to stop the two of you

This is normal, he’s used to it, as long as he can play his video games he couldn’t care less

The two of you were arguing about whether Yin or Yang was better

You thought Yang was the best cause legit any colour mixed with white makes pastels

And EVERYONE loves pastels

If you don’t like pastels, idk what to say

Lev was spewing some shit about how Yin was so cool cause it was dark and edgy like ninjas

He wanted to be a ninja

You were legit laughing at that

Who would not notice a 2m giant sneaking around

You didn’t laugh tho cause you’re too nice

And you don’t want karma to bite you back in the butt

And Lev’s smug face if he actually became a ninja

The two of you couldn’t decide

So you both asked Kenma

You legit shoved your faces into his, blocking his view of his console or whatever

You ask him whether Yin or Yang is better

He deadpanned and replied grey

The two of you were so confused and stared at him blankly

Finally he explained that Yin and Yang needed to be balanced and could not survive without the other

You both awed at his smartness

And at that moment, Yaku entered

Just the mere sight of the two of you made him angry

So he slapped you both, for your own good

Yaku the absolute mom of the team

Being a mom means he’s also vry good at arguing

Literally wins every argument

Makes you wonder why he didn’t join the debating club

Lev told you it was because Yaku would frighten everyone away with his ugly face

He got promptly slapped, kicked and hit with a volleyball

“Serves him right”

That’s what Yaku said

You know better than to question the mom

However, one day you got dared to argue with Yaku

And guess who dared you?

Wow, yeah I would’ve never guessed, Lev

You wanted to protec your pride and dignity so duh you did it

You’re no coward

But you seriously forgot how scary Yaku was

You immediately starting sweating bullets when he stared at you, hands on his hips

You regretted it

Would not recommend fighting with a fellow mom

Who knew moms were so scary, brrr...

His precise words were

“Y/n L/n, whatever is passing through your pea head mind, I want you to stop it immediately.”

Yeah he could tell what you were going to do once he saw you approaching him

I guess he had ears everywhere...

The two of you have never had fights before

That’s just how well the two of you fit together

Yamamoto would totally worship the ground you step on

That’s just how he is

In his eyes, you are the most amazing person to have ever stepped on this planet

But you rlly break his trust when you tell Lev about his embarrassing moments

But Lev with his stupidously big blabber mouth can’t keep it shut

He taunts Yamamoto and that boi be rlly angry

He demands to know who told him

He forgot

Yamamoto is rlly upset

Ignores you when he gets home

You start to wonder why he’s ignoring you for ‘no reason’

It’s dinner and he hadn’t even come down

You’re rlly mad

So after you ate you barge into his room yelling at him

He’s rlly angry cause u just broke his trust and starts yelling at him

Things start to get a bit physical

But fortunately, by the next day you figured what had happened at organized an apology to him with the help of his team

He immediately forgave you seeing what you had done

“Sirius, no!” Remus shouted, as the boy in question marched over to Jamie’s and Lily’s table.

“Well, hello there snivellus. Looking positively greasy today aren’t we?” Sirius taunted.

“What are you doing here Black?” Snape sneered.

Sirius hummed before responding, “We just fancied a dinner here. What about you?”

“Looking for something to grease?” Marlene chimed.

“Marlene,” Lily warned.

“Thought I’d visit my friend Lily here. That’s all Black,” Snape answered.

“More like crash her date,” Dorcas muttered, as she joined the group around Lily and Jamie’s table with Remus, Mary, and Peter.

“I am not your friend Snape.” Lily stood up, accompanied by Jamie.

“Lily!” The greasy haired man faced her pleadingly, “I care about you a lot. That’s why I’m telling you to not date Potter! Thinking that you’re bi may well just be a phase that’ll go away, Lily. Moreover, she doesn’t really care about you! She just thinks that you are some sort of prize to be won.”

Jamie looked like she wanted to dislocate Snape’s jaw, her fists curled at her sides. But the warning glance Lily threw her, made her insides calm down

“You know nothing about me Snape,” Lily said, with gritted teeth. “Now go away before I dislocate your nose.” Sirius whistled in support.

“Lily, we’ve been best friends since we were ten. I know you, Lily. Please listen to me,”

“If you were my best friend you’d have supported me instead of behaving like an ignorant ass. Now please go away.”

“Lily, please.”

Barely a moment later, Lily’s fist connected with Snape’s nose. Blood leaked down his front, while the rest of the gang rushed to vocally support her.

“You’ll regret that Lily!” Snape glared threateningly.

Before long, Sirius had tackled Snape to the ground, and accidentally splattered the lasagna the waiter was bringing over to their table, on Snape’s head.

“I...“ Lily began.

“You can save your breath, Lils,” Sirius started, “he’s a harmless, entitled prick”

“Looks like you have a lot of grease to get rid of, Snep,” Marlene announced.

“And Snep, pro tip: the only shampoo that keeps the grease at bay is the Sleakeasy shampoo. You should try it out!” Jamie, ever so helpful, advised, and moved to position her hand behind Lily’s back.

“Sorry about that Sir, we’ll cover the charges for the ill-fated lasagna,” Sirius apologised to the waiter as he helped him up from the ground.

“Could you please get him out of this shop? He’s been troubling us, as you can see,” Dorcas asked, politely.

The waiter simply looked baffled. However, he nodded and successfully escorted Snape out of the restaurant.

“Now this is going to be quite the first date story to tell at the wedding.” Peter spoke up for the first time since they gathered at the table between the hydrangeas and the windows.

Jamie blushed and looked around, anywhere but at Lily, though her hand never left Lily’s back, while the redhead laughed at her.

“Well, since we’re all together, we can have dessert and you can continue spying on us while sitting at our table,” Lily said. “Nice ears you’ve got there, Sirius. Though I’d prefer Dorcas’s floppy hat.”

“Yeah! I personally love the whiskers, Pete. Seriously, Marlene? A gily suit? Inconspicuous much? And Remus, you have enough sense to stop them!” Jamie put on.

Remus just shrugged, his big crescent shaped moon hat toppling Mary’s tree hat downwards. “Sorry,” he said, bending to pick it up.

“Thanks,” she said, when he gave the hat to her, “why did we agree to wear these again?”

“So we would be incognito, Mary”

“And we were successful! These oblivious dorks didn’t even realise that it was us until old snivelly pointed it out,” Sirius stated.

“Also, we did have ice-cream before coming here, so you guys should continue, we’ll leave,” Dorcas said.

“Hey! We didn’t get to eat that ice-cream! You and Remus took it from us,” Marlene reprimanded.

“Yeah! So we’ll be staying here and you guys can shoo away,” Sirius included.

“Well in that case you can all leave and get yourselves ice cream while Lily and I can finally enjoy our date,” Jamie, now pushing Sirius, and shoo-ing the others to the doors, said.

“Say what you want Jamie, I am enjoying our date,” expressed Lily.

“You are?” Jamie turned around, completely forgetting the others in the room.

“Well, looks like they’re more nauseating and lame than before. Should we go?” Asked Marlene.

“Nah. Let’s just sit outside and spy on them through the window,” Sirius smirked.

Homecookings [Oct ed]

How is everyone doing? My October went by surprisingly quickly - the 1st half was my vacation & then the days just flew by.

One of the highlights was that I donated to World Visions; wasn’t much, but have been consistent for the past few yrs. Long story short, thanks to a friend, I found out that World Vision actually uses the donations well - meaning, a high percentage of the donations goes to the actual event or recipient. So from a ‘spender’ perspective, the most bang comes out of your buck, which is great, esp since it’s charity. & I also find the work they do aligns with my values, so it’s great. I’m making it an annual thing around Thanksgiving time =)

Another October highlight is that I passed my Red Cross First Aid & CPR (level C) re-certification. This would my 3rd time taking the course, so it was shrunk down to being a 1-day course. Class size was small, which has its pros & cons; the material was pretty dry. .. NGL haha. However, I did learn about some new things, which was interesting. I found out that the Red Cross curriculum teaches about Naloxone spray. In fact, the rest of Canada uses it, besides Alberta (we use injection system). Why does AB always gotta be different? lol so we talked about both a little bit. I’m not even sure if AB has the spray version...

Anyway, enough about that- fooooood~

This looks so sad XD but everything was good~ Nujungji tang, with a plate of food: chicken breast, napa cabbage, eggplant, & shrimps.

Cheese gnocchi with pasta sauce.

Fish cake & lettuce with rice noodles. The broth was so good. I don’t usually add Korean soy sauce but I did this time, hence the slightly brown colour.

Curry chicken with rice noodles. Besides instant noodles, thick rice noodles is my 2nd fav noodle type. For this curry, I added some of the gluten free red miso I blogged about before. Not bad :P

Green onion & seaweed pancake (with a slightly diluted ssam-jang)

I made kimchi again~ Heavy on the carrots this time bcos I didn’t want to taste jar space haha I had 2 small-ish cabbages so I knew I had room left to be filled, hence I stuffed it with carrot.

... please do NOT try/buy this. I mean, you can, but I don’t recommend it. The “rice dough” was really. . . rice dough =/ Compared to soft mochis, this one was like hard. The filling also wasn’t very good. Strong lemon scent but lacking flavour. Therefore, it wasn’t soft nor sweet.

Stir-fry rice cake with green cabbage, carrot, & garlic.

I know I used this plate like a million times but I just really like it, okay? It’s light & I like the simple design & neutral colour. It also looks kinda flat but it actually holds quite a lot of liquid - not as flat as it looks.

Fried chicken. Bcos I can :D

Trying to be a little more creative with baking salmon. Here I used the Evoolution dill olive oil with parmesan powder on top.

YUM!

Stir-fry pork + green cabbage in Korean spicy oyster sauce on top of thin noodles, topped with a pile of seaweed.

Last but not least, thick rice noodles with tomato + cabbage :D it has been a while since I’ve had anything in tomato broth. I added a bit of the Knorr chicken broth for some extra flavour.

okay so i’ve basically dropped out of school at this point for multiple health reasons so i don’t really do much tbh lol. which means i have quite a lot of time for editing stuff, so i usually make at least one edit everyday, sometimes if i'm having a really creative spell i can make several in one day and i just keep them in my drafts to post for another day. but if i'm just really not feeling it or have no inspo or motivation i either won’t edit or just go onto photoshop and just play around until i make smth random haha. but sometimes i’ll just get a few screencaps and add some colouring and post that if i’m rly tired. so yeah sometimes i don’t edit every single day. but i have somehow managed to consistently post everyday for a while now, tho i’m not sure how long that’s going to last ahsjdkdj.

late night rambling cuz why not

time to dive of what i remember of tf2 fandom over the years

tldr: fandom is alright. fandom also ruined a few things to me

sort of luckily, it seems like the fandom itself didn’t ruin the franchise. i still love a lot of things about tf2. but oh man, the fandom...oh the fandom. it can turn into a dumpster fire sometimes. but also that’s fandoms in general

now to go to the point, this is my experience in general, most of the time it’s what I’ve witnessed mostly on tumblr

let’s start with the classes

Scout

oh boi there is a lot. i guess i could describe it as the fandom’s beloved fuckboi punching bag. i saw a fuck ton of people kinning scout. being very loud that scout is 110% trans. I’ve seen so many fanart of trans scout. and of course the fucking..popular ship that is speeding bullet. 😅 also saw many that sees scout as a soft uwu boi. there’s also the usual obnoxious (it’s on point though) scouts with the pink and green coloured cosmetics. Another on point thing is how dumb scout is

Soldier

first off, rest in peace rick may. i love that the fandom mourn for the beloved patriotic mercenary class. i did and do adore that people made him goofy in a lot of times. and i really love the fanart of him and zhanna. i also liked helmet party a bit. i sadly hardly saw brotp type of art of him and demo. overall i guess the overly patriotic is on point? i don’t get the stupidity part of soldier though

Pyro

😅 where to start, there is a lot of mixed stuffs that i’ve seen. firstly what i do like is that pyro is confirmed to be a man under that mysterious suit. although active players deny heavily and say it’s a woman or gender unknown. even though canon comics say it’s a guy. least fav is when people do pyro as oversized infant/toddler. but like you do you. idk if its to satisfy your fetishes. luckily i saw wonderful pyro ocs.

Demoman

overall very loved mercenary! :D least favourite is when demo is done that he is passed out drunk or so drunk that he is dumb. i like casual demo the most. most of the time i see positive stuffs about demo, and i seem to always miss the drama that seem to plague him. i also feel like he is easily a forgettable one

Heavy

fandom’s mascot and fandom’s fav big softy big bro. canon heavy he has a facade to protect his family. sadly or maybe on point? a handful of time he is portrayed dumb. but he is a big bro softy. there are many other things i could add but i feel like i’d start something really bad

Engineer

to describe what the fandom thinks of him: the one that takes care of everyone. i do like the fatherly figure the fandom does of him. although i feel like people forget that engineer can be very serious but choose not to. the edgy headcanon stories for his mechanic hand though is crazy lol

Medic

the slut for all of the team. from early days ive mostly seen medic smut. a lot of which involves with heavy. i did like the change of pace when classic heavy came into frame. smut aside, a lot of crazy experiments and his unruly nature of medical stuffs.

Sniper

a shit ton of smut and lovely art of sniperspy. a lot of piss jokes as well. not enough of him sleeping though. there was a lot of lovely art of him alone though. i adored the occasional bush medicine. when it came to commissioned art, there was a lot of edgy stuffs

Spy

people are horny for the french man. the fanservice that valve does just fuels it. fandom has been supportive of dad!spy. a lot of what ive remember is handful seen spy as hoity toity and “mon dieu why me“ type of thing. and my god valve broke spy fandom with that proud of you scene.

Saxton Hale

so. much. bara. hyper. smut. I’ve only seen on occasion that it wasn’t like fetish based. it was when an update either comic or video came along. to meme about. i like the character but fandom kinda ruined him for me 😅

Miss Pauling

man i miss the days of the ship art of pauling and scout. or that miss pauling is ace. there was rare smut of her and administrator. i liked art of her with spy being casual friends. now these days is ship art of pauling and zhanna. and a lot of people are so fucking rabid of her being a lesbian (not confirmed by valve but you do you) that if you ship her with any man, you’re a homophobic trash. like god damn let people enjoy things

Classic Heavy

at some point it was a lot of people’s fav asshole. fav horrible person to love. the ship art with medic. I’m not sure what the hell happened for people to go silent on him.

next it’s the ships

oh the ships. ship wars, and rare pairs. so many possibilities. people kinda respected other people’s ships. and then as tumblr do, tf2 got plagued of “ZOMG IF YOU SHIP X AND Y THEN YOU’RE A HOMOPHOBIC PRICK! FUCK YOU AND I HOPE YOU BURN IN HELL AND OH IF YOU SHIP THIS MERC WITH THIS MERC THEN YOU’RE A VILE PIECE OF SHIT FOR SHIPPING ABUSIVE THINGS“

...BOI...calm your tits down. if the content triggers you in any sort of way, why the flying fucks did you even look it up? why haven’t you blacklisted so you wouldn’t even see the ship? wouldn’t see the trigger content? why the fuck did you look it up? is it an excuse to bully an innocent person over fictional characters? because then you’re the asshole in this. they’re not harming anyone with smut art. unless it’s illegal things then, pretty harmless.

i’ll end it here. I miss some content creators cuz the fandom decided to go witch hunt on some of them. some of them never deserved the harassment and left traumatized.

I’ve been on the sidelines most of the time and seem to have dodged a handful of drama. but it’s unfortunate to witness some of it happen. and i think ill stay on the sidelines. cuz ive learned trying to interact with people would lead to unfortunate events. so i just want to enjoy things

Okay so I'm gonna break this down into segments and header it with a different colour some will he shorter than others. Also sorry if I spell names of county wrong and rember this is just my opinion

Story

Also heads up I played it in this order conquest -> rev -> birthrights I know I should have swapped rev and birthrights but it was really expensive and I was like 14

Fates story is not the best but deffently not as bad as some people said. Overall I'll be honst I liked conquest story but not birthrights which I know most people have the opposite oppion on but like I found conquest to be more fun I enjoyed the idea of sneaking around garons back with your siblings and being powerless at times to stop a lot of the things like the massacre where scarlet dies and ryoma death there where moments I just groaned at the screen but apart from that I had more fun. Birthrights I'll be real the story kind of bored me i only really found certain parts interesting but my favourite moment from fates actually came from birthrights and it was the Xander fight where he killed elise and then let corrin kill him it was tragic and sad and I live for angst ngl. rev story I don't remember to much sorry I mostly fouced on the characters ngl but that sence with the kid turning into the faceless was really cool and also the one with makoto and she fucks with you and the doors but idk if that's classed as story or gameplay but either way that was sick

Gameplay

Fates gameplay was soild as fuck I will die on this hill. The pair up was cool, the skills and classes where sick and the character balancing minor some major problems *cough xander ryoma takumi cough* was pretty cool and corrin is not nearly as broken as Robin or byleth. I like to play conquest the most because I'm a maschoist lol but even though most of revs maps where gimmicks I love them there so iconic, tbh most of fates maps are like I understand most of fates criticism but the maps, apart from rev as not everyone likes gimmicks, I just dont understand

Phoenix mode

Honstly play the game how you want to if that's on normal Phoenix go a head I dont care you play the game how you want to. Like yeah Phoenix mode may take away all the difficulty but casual took away perma death and that's the most played game mode because that's what people want and if people want Phoenix then just let them have it doesn't bother me I will never play it but I dont care if others do.

Corrin

Okay so I actually like corrin and before you look away I will explain why I think their dislikes and why I do like them and think how they could be improved

I think the promblem people have with Corrin is that they dont have enough personilty to be a regular character but they have to much that they can't be an avatar if you know what I mean. Like with Robin they deffently had a personily but they weren't the main character chrom was so it wasn't in your face as much yeah they made some important decisions whitch often did nothing but at the end of the day it lopped back to chrom and this is something corrin cant do everything has to be about corrin as there the main lord. But corrin is kind they dont want to kill common soldiers and that's never really addressed (as far as I can remember) why corrin wont kill like the sibling bit make sense but the common solider whitch could have killed there spouse is just frustrating at times and something not many people feel while playing. Corrin would have worked better if they wasn't a self insert that went against the average players emotions. But yeah I do feel people are to harsh on corrin as well though like with the whole not earning the Yaot witch is like they kind of did though it was the fact that who ever held the yaot would bring the world peace and they did it was there destiny to do so to fight in a war and mabey kill there family but even then I don't see people giving the three houses leaders shit for there wepons and they did less all they did was be born from a group of people that committed genocide! But also many people say nothing bad happens to them but at least in conquest and birthrights corrin suffers, in conquest the blood of what you think are your siblings are on your hands one forced to commit sucide and the other painful possed and then there the amount of murder they just had to watch and then birthrights watching elise die for them and xander pretty much letting corrin kill him and everything else like bruh this shit is sad and is also the reson I pray fe stops using self inserts and goes back to the older ways

Translation

Why! Why! Who thought that was a good idea Xander what did they do to him 🥺 I haven't finshed reading a direct translation of fates yet but its like so much better then the English version if you have the chance to read through it's worth it so much. Also same with three houses it wasn't as bad but like certain scenes are better like the really cringy reponse el had to dimitri on gronder feild actually makes sense and just especially if you like crimson flower as out of all the routs edelgard and cf feels like it got changed the most its just interesting ngl anyway onto fates again

The petting game

I know I would hate it as I already hate the wake the slug a bug up and the "you didn't blow niles hard enough" stuff but it was also optional so like idk i don't really have an oppion

Fan service (camilla)

I like big tits (as long as there not mine lol) as much as the next person who also likes that stuff but even I'll admit It was way to much at times especially the did you miss you big sister part like I enjoy camillas character I'm a sucker for a character with a tragic backstory, loves there family, cares for others a bit to much and could bench press me but the times where she was just fan severse sucked.

Overall I like the majority of characters, here are my top 3 favs girls and boy

Best girls : Charlotte, orochi and Nyx

I always see people being like (x) was wasted in fates i wished they were in a different game but literally 3/4 of the cast have that said about them so like do yall hate the cast or love it :/

My overall oppion

I have mixed oppions over all I do like fates conquest is one of my favourite fe and I hope mabey in twenty years it will get re made with a better translation and some adjustments to corrin and the story

OHH omg?? 😭 thank you for asking this, amazing surprise!! mhajsjsj I ended up writing something verrrry long bc my brain kept throwing info at me, so now this a meta I guess rip

For Shinji’s personal thoughts / relationship with Unit-01, there’s extra long detail mainly of Ep1 bc of first impressions / context ( then I’ll try to summarize ). Insight into some tiny details like Shinji’s unspoken thoughts that were maybe missed:

Shinji’s early and personal impressions of Unit-01 is mostly fear if we’re summing things up. The very first scene with it is even a jump scare to emphasize that:

The frame is black, and then after the lights turn on, boom, this:

A GIANT FACE WITH MONSTER EYES THAT GLOW YES I AM LOOKING DIRECTLY AT YOU NOW SON ( with bby framed right in the middle so you know how tiny he is in comparison / and narratively, that he’s also the subject of focus )

.... can confirm scare. Plz no

Much fear. But even before this scene, it’s great to remember that Shinji is already terrified bc he saw Fourth Angel-kun AKA Sachiel wrecking havoc outside, understandably freaked out by its monster appearance / how it was shooting down military planes like they were pieces of paper. Shinji was also directly caught in that earlier crossfire and legit could’ve died just bc everything happening was too close for comfort until Misato finally shows up in her car to pick him up. Best uber But after that they get caught in a huge N2 mine explosion that hits Sachiel dead on but it comes out with barely a scratch / casually just regrows a head or something. Sachiel seems invincible to Shinji by this point and that fact already scares him— as it should.

But back to the Unit-01 scene: as far as Shinji can remember, he’s never seen an Eva or heard of one and he lets everyone know this once Gendo starts pressuring him to pilot it and do the thing to save the world right now plz or else everyone in city dead including Shinji-kun gg

Ofc to Shinji, it’s not a good feeling at all, he’s running through all the sudden facts : Unit-01 is manmade, looks powerful, and it’s supposed to protect us. It isn’t an Angel destroying the city and nonchalantly killing things of military force so there’s no need to hide and run from it— but it’s still alien to me and scary and now my impression of it is even worse because my estranged father and adult strangers are forcing me to get comfortable with it immediately to fight the ‘Angel’ I saw earlier. So I might die after all today.

Fear of death on top of feeling useless / cowardly / abandoned etc is a lot. Then injured Rei scene AKA Gendo’s master guilt tripping plan happens, and it works, but this is also where his impression of Unit-01 changes for the better : There’s a huge tremor, Rei falls off her stretcher, and giant debris is coming down from the ceiling right above her Shinji—

Unit-01 moves on its own does a giant good thing

So this part : It saved him? This robot that he’s only had bad feelings about so far? Shinji is confused af but now feels a strangely positive connection to Unit-01, one he probably can’t put into words, but it ultimately influences his decision on not to run away. bc now it finally feels like there’ll be at least something on his side if he agrees to do this— AKA Unit-01 is the literal “something that can protect / help him”, which we all know is a concept Shinji desperately wants and chases. In this terrifying mess, it’s encouraging to him. And then Shinji says the thing:

Brave bby ( it’s nice to know that he ends up saving Rei again a few eps later, shamelessly serious and gallant / heroic Shinji is underrated don’t @ me )

Fast forward : after that he gets in, syncs perfectly with it, fights Sachiel but almost dies bc he missteps once, starts to panic, but mainly bc he’s never had any proper training prior gg NERV. Unit-01 goes berserk, violently kicks Sachiel’s ass, scares the living hell out of everyone watching etc.

At the end of Ep 2, after Shinji wakes up in the hospital and moves in with Misato, he remembers everything that night, traumatized:

The blood has settled, an already freaked out Shinji turns to see Unit-01 without its cool sci-fi unicorn headplate thing that it shed earlier in battle:

Oh.

It’s once again looking straight at him. Oh no this is much scarier than the first time plz no I want the yellow sci-fi Spiderman mask eyes back

Then Shinji understandably screams his lungs out ( and that’s when he probably fell unconscious? ) So now he’s back to fearing Unit-01 bc his Eva is a beast of a robot, on top of now having PTSD from the fight with Sachiel. Unit-01 protected Shinji twice now by going berserk, sure, but it’s also extremely unknown and frightening to him after in ways he couldn’t have expected when he first saw it— the primal kind of fear. ( side note: Primal fear, primal wants, and primal feelings, primal anything in general are a big thematic thing in nge, so it really lingers and comes back even harder in eoe )

Finally for the rest of his personal thoughts on Unit-01, badly summarized bc this is already 2 fucking long thank you to whoever’s still reading LMAOO: Shinji eventually gets used to piloting and tries to push the existential fear of his Eva to the back of his mind, mostly. He always wonders what it is exactly, once admitting that he really doesn’t know anything about Evas while peering into his NERV manual episodes later ( bc NERV is weird about everything and he’s too scared anyone ask past a certain point, ect ). Shinji thinks his Eva smells / feels weirdly calming to him inside despite being scary, but only when his life isn’t in violent danger. Things only suck whenever Unit-01 goes berserk / he loses control somehow / when he finds out certain truths about it. Youknow

On his opinions about Unit-01 aesthetically, I don’t think Shinji has any preferences that make him go ‘YES I totally vibe with this neon genesis green and purple it’s so me’ or anything, he’s just not caught up in the awesome looking giant robot idea at all ( Unlike Kensuke and Asuka ). For example his reaction was just ‘huh? oh... ok. I see?’ at Asuka when they first met when she was showing off shiny and red Unit-02 to him ( which is cool and cooler with a cape ). If you tell Shinji his giant robot is awesome and that you’re in love with the purple paint job, other than demurely acknowledge your praise, he might try to thank you surface level, very awkwardly bc he can’t take credit for that ( also will 1000/10 think that you remind him of Kensuke depending on who’s more intense LOL )

Confused and serious, I guess that’s Shinji’s attitude towards Evas in general ( minus when he’s not freaking out mhajsja ) and it fits the rest of his mild / boring / unassuming personality— like Kaji and Kaworu both said to his face, he can be clueless about his own position as a pilot and how it affects everyone around him. Like the random girls in his class, lots of people think Shinji’s cool for what he gets to do but to him it’s just a thing he has to do, for the most part.

On a sadder note, makes sense bc the only time we see Shinji enjoying something as a hobby is when he’s playing the cello and smiling, even then he just downplays his talent when asked. I think he would be a lot more passionate about music if his circumstances were better. That probably contributes to why he doesn’t care much about Evas in an aesthetic way either. But I think eventually, he’d come to prefer his own Eva just because of how familiar it would look and feel to him, plus his past experiences with it. Many ones.

Unrelated bonus note!! It’s interesting that Unit-01 is the only Eva with a completely different colour scheme when compared to its respective pilot’s plugsuit— in this case, Shinji’s plugsuit being blue and white instead ( as a side note Unit-13 is also purple and green but Shinji and Kaworu’s plugsuits match this time ) But why purple huh? My guess is that aside from wanting the main character’s giant robot to also stand out bc it’s special and awesome, Yui also wears a purple shirt in one of the later episodes showing a long flashback. That screencap stuck with me, idk why. Purple shirt confirmed in nge holy shit mind blown LOL jk in all seriousness we can only speculate. Maybe Yui’s fav colour was purple and Gendo decided to pay tribute to that when they made the Evas. Whatever headcanon hurts us more!
