Note
if you have the time or inclination, can i ask what the deal with motogp/those boys is about? i don’t mean that in a mean way btw, im just curious and i love drama
i will try to be brief (1/4358)
SO! valentino rossi (born 16 February 1979, aquarius. italian.) is one of the most iconic people in motorsport, CERTAINLY in motogp. he's a 9 time world champion, your favorite driver's favorite driver, and is generally credited with revolutionizing the popularity of the sport by: a. being insanely good at motorcycle racing, and b. in general having a lot of fun about it. lethally charming and charismatic. all time active listening face. just a fun and funny dude that everyone pretty much likes and MANY younger riders idolize. VERY good at handling the media and his legions of cult-like fans. sometimes treated more like a god than a person. i was in the store yesterday and saw one of his themed monster energy drinks despite him retiring two years ago. his fun retirement activity is racing BMWs and running his own motogp team/training facility/cult for young italian racers. (this is where cele and bezz and basically every italian rider not named enea bastianini come from!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
so in 2011ish valentino had won 9 titles, and he decided to leave his current manufacturer and move to italian manufacturer ducati where he generally had a stone-cold terrible time. EXTENDED flop era for a couple years. any time ive watched content that covers this period everyone is so sad. so sad. anyways he GOES BACK to his old manufacturer in 2013 and is much more competitive. kind of just happy to be winning sometimes and be on the podium. 2013 is also where marc comes in. what could go wrong.
marc marquez! (born 17 february 1993, almost exactly 14 years after vale which i'm sure means nothing. also an aquarius. spanish.) childhood sports idols include: dani pedrosa, VALENTINO ROSSI.
marc carved his way up through the feeder championships until casey stoner unexpectedly retired at the end of the 2012 season leaving a seat empty on a VERY good bike for his rookie season. rocked up and was immediately VERY good at winning and very good at being a crazyinsane person on track that made people mad at him lol. hilarious habit of pissing people off via on-track crimes that i really enjoy. motogp riders are already crazy (they do death sport) but marc is famous for taking risks no one else will. basically if he's not winning, he's crashed out or he's maybe crashed YOU out. he wins the championship as a rookie (insane) and the next year's championship as well. heir apparent to the throne. sweet and goofy but is now known as one of the more reserved riders with the press. probably because of all this drama tbh. undisputed GOAT of acting like a slut on camera
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
throughout 2013-2014, marc and valentino had a good relationship! marc very clearly idolizes him and is like. bowled over completely with delight every time valentino looks his way. vale likes him! theyre buds! truly an endless well of pictures of vale explaining something with his hands and marc babygirling at him. highly recommend checking out @pgaslys every rosquez podium tag for contextual brain damage. insane times.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(IT SHOULD BE NOTED: before the 2015 season marc visits valentino at his practice track in italy, where they compete to break the track record and almost kill each other bc they are so pathologically competitive. APPARENTLY, marc showed up with some official mechanics and valentino was a little pissed off because it was supposed to be a like. fun thing. and to marc winning is the most fun! if you dont come to win why come at all! anyways marc breaks the track record and credits that to cooling their relationship a bit. good post about it here.) here they are that day:
Tumblr media
so what could go wrong, right? WELL. valentino has a chance to win his tenth title in 2015. marc is on a flop bike and crashed a bunch so he's not in the championship conversation but vale is leading the standings from the jump, with his main opponent being jorge lorenzo. i think he really wanted that tenth, and dedicated himself to the season in a way he hadnt really ever before (he was a very effortless competitor when he was young. gym-adverse. king).
marc and him start to get into some scraps along the way, notably in argentina (where they made contact and marc crashed out), assen (where they made contact AGAIN and vale won the race), and phillip island (marc won. GREAT race available here for free). phillip island sees vale finishing P4 and jorge lorenzo finishing ahead of him in P3, reducing his championship lead by quite a bit. no real indication of any tension during these races, and they are asked about it!
this is where valentino's delulu era begins! basically, ahead of the next race (🔥🔥SEPANG 2015🔥🔥) in the pre-race press conference, he goes after marc, saying he was deliberately sabotaging valentino in phillip island because marc wanted jorge to win. in valentino's mind. marc wants jorge to win because a. they are both spanish (??) and b. it would mean marc has to win less titles to equal valentino's total. record scratch. freeze frame.
everyone (including marc!) thinks valentino is joking at first bc that is bananascrazyinsane. he was not joking. (it should be noted valentino STILL thinks this lol.) anyways marc is completely blindsided. he thought they were good! yeah they've been chippy on track but that's racing!! truly like. 22 years old and your friend (AND CHILDHOOD IDOL.) is calling you a snake in front of your face with NO prior warning to the entire motogp establishment writ large including your coworkers and REPORTERS. valentino wont even look at him the entire time. the press conference is available here on vimeo. excruciating gifsets of marc's very stiff bewildered PR smile found here.
anyways so. the race. marc is uh. pissed off. he's stuck to valentino like GLUE the entire time and they trade places a bunch of times. now marc is kind of famous for being a little asshole on track anyways, but its not like he's gonna get out of valentino's way and just let him pass after what he said in that press conference so. hand in unlovable hand <3. truly very fun to watch imo even with the sword of damocles hanging over them. marc is fucking on one the entire race and basically refuses to give valentino an inch until vale gets so fed up with his antics that um. well. it certainly looks like he kicked him. vale says he didnt, and that his leg accidently made contact with marc's bike. marcs says. he fucking kicked me. judge for yourself here!
so valentino gets hauled in front of race direction and penalized for the next race (the deciding race for the championship). he has to start from the back of the grid and it kills his chance at a tenth title stone dead. vale places the blame squarely on marc's shoulders and his legions of fans decide marc is public enemy number 1. him and jorge have to get security at the next race because of death threats, someone tries to break into marc's childhood home back in spain, marc's mom throws away all of marc's valentino merchandise from when he was a kid. vale says nothing.
but the thing about marc. is that he loves very hard and chooses his people pretty carefully. didnt really move out of his tiny hometown until he turned 30 and also made his baby brother move in with him kind of guy. so all this is not really enough for him to let go of vale entirely! 2016 is where the pain lives! bc marc is still reaching out and vale himself stays pretty cold for a couple years. they seem to faintly reconcile for a bit but its not anywhere like it was before sepang.
the real nail in the coffin is argentina 2018. another insane race where marc has to start from the back and goes on a rampage through the field and crashes out like three people. i cant remember. this race is also available on youtube for free its very entertaining. every five minutes marc does something insane. vale is one of the people marc crashes out and afterwardshe goes on a big rant about how marc is destroying the sport and is actively dangerous. marc goes to valentino's garage immediately after the race to apologize and vale doesnt even look at him. he gets turned away at the door after vale's best friend/assistant/henchman yells in his face1!!! and thats kind off all she wrote in terms of reconciliation
anyways that's where we are! they are both very much not over it. vale goes on podcasts and is like. in 30 years i will still be mad, im literally never going to get over it it was such a big and unfair thing and i think about it all the time like it was yesterday. and marc (lying) says as time goes by i dont even think about it :) and i care about valentino less and less :))) but yes he hurt me deeply lol. CANNOT stress enough how much this entire thing is now inextricably liked to both of their legacies. the two arguable GOATs of a sport had an epic fleetwood mac-style beatles breakup divorce and everyone wants to talk about it allllll day long including me :)
additional context! really recommend checking out marc's little docuseries he put out this year about his recent struggles with injury. he is so not right in the head and it goes over the valentino drama in ep3. theres also hitting the apex (2015) which goes over the 2013 season (marc's rookie season) and is a really good introduction to all the major players at the time. its like less than 2 hrs long so its not too much of a commitment
also recommend following scholars @babynflames, @its-always-silly-season, @baking-soda, and @f1vegas as well as many others im forgetting rn bc its 2am!

the power of self-talk in the fight against self-sabotage (for binge-eaters and ppl who have never been skinny🫶)
disclaimer: this is not proana. this is for people who struggle with binge eating as a form of self-sabotage, emotional comfort, self harm, etc. overeating can cause just as much harm physically and mentally as undereating. please be safe. now, on with the show!
weight loss, but specifically extreme weight loss, equals change. change equals discomfort, so people tend to subconsciously avoid change. this is why starting to see progress on the scale or your body can trigger the urge to self-sabotage that progress and binge eat.
for people who have been big their whole lives, that fear is heightened by the fact that being thin is completely uncharted territory. by following through, youre entering a new world that youve never navigated before. your brain might get scared, say its much too big a mountain to climb, and tell you to give up. its easier to say fuck it because for most people, unhappiness is a comfort zone. if youre used to hating your body and wanting it to change, then actually *changing* it poses a very serious threat to your comfort and the lifestyle youre used to.
questions like: "what if i reach my goal and im still unhappy/unattractive?" "what if i dont look like myself?" "what if i reach my goal, cant sustain it, and then i gain it all back and humiliate myself?" can all make someone feel anxious about succeeding in their weight loss journey. and for people with overeating issues, this is a big trigger for binge episodes.
so how do you combat this instinct to self sabotage? well, im not a psychologist so take this with a grain of salt, but for me it helps to soothe these subconscious fears and train the brain to fight these urges. self-talk and thought-correction play a HUGE role in rewiring the pathways in your brain that lead you to bingeing. truly, practice and consistency are the only things that are going to cause a big change, so stick with it !
correcting problematic thoughts *immediately* when they form is key to preventing problematic behavior in the future, and that starts with being able to identify those thoughts. the moment you catch yourself thinking about food, cut yourself off with a correction. maybe even think about food on purpose a few times to practice recognizing and correcting it.
for example, if you just ate an hour ago, chances are youre not actually hungry yet. tell yourself that as soon as you realize youre thinking about food. i like to tell myself "i dont need to eat, and im not gonna sabotage myself by eating that." by acknowledging it and calling it what it is--literally an attack, by my brain, on my own progress--i immediately attach a sense of accountability to the actions that follow. there's no deniability. its no longer a passive choice. theres no mindless eating or "i wasnt thinking about it." if i eat after acknowledging the act of eating as self-sabotage, then that is me *actively* choosing self-sabotage over self-control. accountability alone can change a lot if you let it.
what i tell myself changes depending on the situation, but i find that repeating some of these phrases throughout the day helps to fight urges in general, and certain ones help for specific cravings and situations.
below are some examples of things i tell myself that have helped me fight the urge to self sabotage. they dont all have to be true when you first say them, the point is training your brain to think a certain way. it may feel unnatural at first, but the more you say them the more natural it becomes, until eventually it becomes apart of the way you actually think and you dont have to work so hard at it. remember: consistency. is. key.
okay ill stop blabbing! here:
•i allow myself to be thin.
•i accept the change that comes with losing weight.
•i am ready to see myself differently and cope with any complicated feelings that may come with it.
•i am prepared for my body to change.
•i will deal with my wardrobe when the time comes, and im not afraid of dressing differently for my new body.
•i will adjust to my new dietary needs and appetite when i reach my goal weight. i will not always be hungry; eating less will be my new normal, and i will be okay.
•i am not afraid of being hungry.
•food does not comfort me, nor does it solve my problems or make me feel better.
•i am ready to navigate a life that looks different to the one im living now.
•i am not afraid of reaching my goal. if i do feel afraid, i am confident in my ability to work through difficult feelings and continue towards my goal.
•im not going to sabotage myself by eating that.
•i accept that people will perceive me differently, and i am ready to navigate that change.
•i am prepared to receive comments about my weight loss.
•i am not afraid of getting what i want.
•i believe i deserve what i want, and im dedicated to working towards getting it.
•i am capable of adapting to new routines and habits.
•fear is not a reason to give up, and i will continue to work even if the possibility of change makes me uneasy.
•i am prepared to face the future, even though i do not know what it looks like.
•i allow myself to make mistakes, and i will not use them as an excuse to quit.
•my long-term satisfaction is more important than what i want in this moment.
•i am in control of my actions and i am capable of resisting the urge to binge.
•i allow myself to have the body i desire.
•i allow myself to change.
•i allow my life to look different and i am not afraid to see a new person in the mirror.
•i am excited to reach my goal, and prepared to navigate any changes that come with it.
•i am ready to meet and introduce others to the new me.

MY THOUGHTS REGARDING THE NEW DOC
Alrighty, just came back to tumblr after reading the new docs and am gonna detail me thoughts a little here. Might be a bit long so I apologize in advance.
In regard to just the new doc made by Alex, it does confirm a lot of my suspicions regarding Ven, DB, and Alex themself that I haven’t really mentioned anywhere aside from the DMs of a few close friends, the main ones being:
* Alex’s general reasoning over the course of this situation
* How generally uncommunicative (most, if not) everyone related to this situation was
As for actual substance, I wish that Alex had provided more screenshots or at the very least gotten the same screenshots presented in Ven’s argument to, at the very least, supplement his own (ex: how uncommunicative DB was being despite allegedly being uncomfortable with the speed at which the relationship was proceeding).
At this point, it’s just testimony against Ven’s and DB’s testimony AND evidence. While I understand where Alex is coming from that does little to defend against evidence in bulk.
What primarily frustrates me is the lack of mention of anyone else aside from DB, Ven, and, very briefly, the 16 as well as the 14 year old. My assumption is just that Alex wanted to contest the claims made in the original doc, but then wouldn’t have been better if he’d just waited and covered all of his bases?
Hopefully, Alex will get around to addressing those — otherwise I’m just stuck with the bad taste in my mouth.
At the moment, I don’t know my exact stance on the situation, however, what I do know is that l all sides should take a break from the internet after this is over as this clearly has negatively impacted all parties’ health.
I don’t 100% trust Alex, but I feel that Ven’s word should be taken with a grain of salt as they’ve previously professed their desire to releasing evidence in order to bring down Alex’s credibility as a public figure.
As for the other victims (e.g: mitcha, donut, etc.) I’m choosing to continue to follow them and sympathize with their struggles.
For closing stuff,
(You can skip if you don’t want to hear me talk about: kinks and sexual intimacy. I’m not gonna go in graphic detail but I just wanted to discuss for a moment)
I honestly just feel like some of the stuff regarding kinks and shit should’ve just stayed in the drafts as I don’t believe there is any solid evidence that Alex was “forcing” their kinks onto others outside of leaps in logic already applied to other arguments (ex: Alex was manipulating DB from the start based on later convos depicting a relationship where both parties are/appear to be reciprocating).
Sex is a valid means of expressing affection, I know people in my life who require that level of intimacy to truly express their feelings — this is in no way implying that sex is the only way to be in a relationship, just that people need different things. It just feels kinda scummy that demonstrations of sexual attraction between two adults was portrayed so negatively despite both parties matching each other (ex: “I’ll make the next one extra special for you” text).
That’s not all the stuff that I have gripes with from Ven’s original doc, but I don’t feel like being here all day so I’m gonna end it here.
Thank you for reading.

Hi amy! I’m a big fan of your blog, it’s insightful and quite educational!
I previously tried to engage in D/s, but it ended with some traumatic experiences. I want to put myself back out there, but I’m a bit scared. I’m lacking the submission I need but it’s hard to let go of the fear. Do you have any advice?
Hey Anon,
You are too kind, thank you.
I am so sorry that you had some traumatic experiences. I can't tell if you're talking about trying to find submission again within the same relationship or within a new one. I haven't been in your shoes, so this is all just based on what I think would be best in this situation, it's not coming from experience. So take everything with a grain of salt and I'd say to trust your intuition more than anything else.
If you're looking to submit within the same relationship, it may take a while to recover if they did anything 'wrong' that contributed to the experience being traumatic. If they violated your trust, for example - then it may be a really time-consuming process for them to regain your trust. I'd encourage you to not pressure yourself to make that happen any faster than it naturally is inclined to. If they didn't do anything 'wrong' but you still felt traumatized due to bumping up against an unknown trigger or something, then again - time may be a big factor. But discussing what happened, why it was traumatizing, what could/should be done to prevent it from happening that way in the future, etc might help a lot. It may be best to steer clear of any kinks or types of D/s that feel similar to the traumatizing experience. For example, if it was related to penetration, maybe when you start exploring D/s together again you avoid any/all penetration for a while. Utilizing lots of 'check ins' may make you both feel more comfortable when you go back to exploring. If you can think of anything else that may make you feel empowered in your submission, voice those ideas to your partner. For example, maybe you initiate all play sessions for a while rather than your partner initiating. Just an thing you can think of that may make you feel more safe, secure or empowered - try to lean into it.
If you're looking to try again with someone new...then you may find some security in really focusing on red flags and vetting. If you feel like you trusted someone too early, you can intentionally go much slower than you did with the previous person. You may still want to avoid submitting in the same way that you were submitting when traumatized. Setting up lots of check-ins and more elaborate safeword plan (like the stoplight system of having a 'slow down' or 'change activities' safeword in addition to a regular 'stop everything!' safeword). The right person to submit to with trauma is someone who has no interest in pressuring you or pushing you, and 100% wants you to explore kink and/or D/s again at your own timeline, for the sake of making you feel secure. So I'd see it as a red flag if they seem pushy or impatient or take this view of BDSM that their job is to push you. I don't really believe in that stuff in general, but I *really* am against it when it comes to trauma.
I tend to be of the mindset that once your mind and body really, truly know they are safe, then you'll feel capable of submitting. Before that happens, I think it's best to listen to your mind and body and just not engage with the things that it's having that averse reaction to. I think sometimes getting there means giving yourself time to heal from past experiences, and sometimes it means giving yourself time to build up a really deep, trusting relationship with someone so that you feel extremely safe with them. And if those things aren't enough then it might be something you could work through in a therapy type of setting. I've personally seen how therapy can assist with reducing my anxiety related to trauma and not related to trauma.
I hope something in here helps! Best of luck to you as you heal. I hope you find beautiful and healthy experiences with D/s when you're ready. :)

Plzzz you’re even more sweet omg😭 I was anon before the anon you replied to about the fs dream (I had similar to experience of relationship-not as much but ofc that broke my heart in a way that I didn’t know it could be broke. But like you said yours was like a leason, I believe mine was too bcuz it really boosted me into the person I am today honestly. Truly thankful for it💞)
Also both you and the anons dreams are so interesting bcuz I never had a dream like that before except recently with me and my online friend(I cal her my twin and honestly think she’s my soulmate ngl). Lemme tell you. I had a dream that I went over to her house as if I lived very close to her or smth and we were giggling and laughing and just having fun (besides her dad bcuz her dad in the dream didn’t seem to like that😒). BUT GET THIS-Like a few weeks later, she had the SAME dream but it was her pov and she came to my house as if she lived like down the street. She told me that we were talking about ateez concert and I told her that my mom would never let me go, but was like “noo I can convince her”…oh goodness it was hard at first bcuz my mom had THE stoic face but eventually was like “sure” (all this was VERY vivid and realistic for the both of us).
But I remembered smth while I was reading the fs dreams and I want to seem if I’m not going crazy or anything. Even though this was a while ago, I’m wondering again. One night while I was sleeping, my vision was black at first but then slowly I felt myself being cradled(?) like someone was holsing me in in their arms and my upper body across their lap. I would say it was comforting but it honestly did freak me out a little bcuz slowly a fuzzy blue outline of someone being held in someone’s arms. The person was speaking but usually when this happens while I’m sleeping, my hearing can only pick up little to no words. I was definitely awake but I wasn’t awake yk? I was wondering if that was my fs or spirit guide? I’m mostly confused bcuz at that time, I would have “visits” while I would sleep. Literally spirits or whatever coming to me and telling me this and that. Who they are and sometimes showing me a very old photo of them😭 besides that, I was wondering if you can intuitively pick up who the person holding me was?
I wrote way more than intended😭 and I would love to message you but i honestly don’t know what I would say dhvjfh
(Oh P.S Im somewhat going into business too and want to become a businesswoman, so I’ll keep what you said in mind if I don’t forget hfhhi🫶🫶💞)
Mann, your vibes are strangely positive in a familiar but also non-familiar way?? Just very warm energy! Consider me as an older sister and listen to me when I tell you all this; RELATIONSHIPS ARE SO DIFFICULT! However, the lessons you learn from them are so valuable. Just remember; never feel afraid to leave someone, even if it's a life lesson, you need to leave someone you feel is hurting you in any way or upsets you. Prioritize YOU, not your relationships. I'm glad you were thankful for the lessons you got out of it and were able to see the sun hiding behind the storm clouds <3 I find dreams and interpreting them very interesting, because they can mean so many different things. I believe dreams all happen for a reason - that they're not just "manifestation of our desires". There is definitely more to it than that, in my opinion! Hm, platonic soulmates are a thing, too! So, bare that in mind. But those dreams sound really sweet, I definitely think a platonic soulmate thing could be going on here? I don't know enough to be 100% certain on that, so take it with a grain of salt. If you feel a pull towards her romantically, don't be afraid to pursue that connection. It could easily lead to good things, new opportunities, prosperity, a life lesson, etc. Having the same dreams shows that you 2 probably, mutually, spend a lot of time thinking about one another. Having the same dream as well could consider that as the future? It could potentially be something that ACTUALLY happens, especially since it felt vivid/real for you both. You're not going crazy, I promise. Last night, I couldn't sleep, so my FS just hugged me and rubbed my back. He woke me up when my body was overheating/I was sweating, so I could drink water and change sides of my bed before I felt his energy hugging me to sleep again. He teases me loads, but he's very caring. I tend to converse with his energy when he seems to be in a good mood, with tarot cards when his mood seems a bit more down? Either way, he was in a good mood so I was able to talk to him a lot. The words they're saying may not be something you literally hear, but if you feel / "hear" random words in your head that don't feel like your own thoughts, it's probably theirs. I have that sometimes, it feels awkward, so I occasionally ask his energy to go to my friend so she can rely his messages to me - so it feels more like an actual conversation than me having a conversation in my own head. Intuitively, I'd say the energy holding you, from what I felt intuitively, was your FS. I pulled cards and got The Lovers and Page of Cups. Definitely FS, imo !! They seemed a bit shy? Like, the cards took a while to fall out by themselves to I pulled the Lovers from the top of the deck till Page of Cups suddenly fell out once I pulled the Lovers. It's okay, feel free to write as much as you'd like !! This is a safe space, no one will judge you for what you say, what you write, etc. I get that and completely understand don't feel any pressure. If you decide to, just a simple "hi, I'm the anon that sent in this ask" with the link would work just fine !! I may take a bit to respond since sleep, classes, etc, but I'll do so ASAP !! Ah, having more business buddies would be really nice !! I look forward to meeting you at some point (hopefully) if it's meant to be, I shall leave it all to divine timing <3 Also, random update on my FS; He's become so bold?? I realised my upper lip was super swollen randomly during my first class and he was just nodding when I asked if he did it. Then, at the top of my chest area, I saw a little swollen red mark and asked him again if it was his doing. Asshole's energy had the BALLS to start whistling and to just leave?? I was thankful that the chest one wasn't noticeable unless I wear a tank top but wtf do I do about the swollen lip !!

Super specific placements astro notes/rants
Usual disclaimer: take this with a grain of salt and only what resonates.
You can look at Chiron and the planets it touches to see conflicts/trauma regarding family remembers or people in general
Sun - father, masculine figures
Moon - mother, feminine figures
Mercury - siblings/cousins (not sure with this one)
Venus - feminine figures.
I want to elaborate on this one. I personally don't like assigning gender to placements, but energies. Feminine and masculine don't directly point to gender, only behavioural characteristics.
Mars - masculine figures
Jupiter - masculine/mentor figures
Saturn - authority figures (you may also look at the midheaven for this one, although its meaning is a little distorted)
That moment when you even hint at mercury-uranus, mercury-saturn, mercury-mc, mercury in the 1H/3H/6H/7H/9H/10H/11H that they are stupid 😀🔪 I am calling myself out with this one.
Mercury-uranus makes someone's intellect their pride, what makes them stand out. Mercury-saturn go through a lot of wrestling with how intelligent they are.
Mercury-mc suggests that they are known for their smarts, and they are truly pragmatic(they look up to intelligence as well).
Mercury in the 1st house makes intellect part of their core identity, meanwhile mercury in the 3rd is in its home, how can you insult something in its more comfortable place?
Mercury in the 6th may doubt their intelligence a lot, despite how logical they most likely are in their day to day life.
Mercury in the 7th brings rationality in their relationships, and its also something they are recognized for.
Mercury in the 9th, I have this one, really ties intellect to personal beliefs. Insulting their brains is like Insulting what they believe in.
Mercury in the 10th, just like mercury-mc. And mercury in the 11th house is also probably thought of as rational as well. Their friends know it, their community knows it.
Trines are lazy. These aspects give so much potential but it's so easy to lose focus with them, this is why I prefer sextiles over trines.
Your 12th house represents your dreams. Whatever you have on your 12th house can point to how your dreams are.
F.e I have moon in the 12th. My dreams tend to include lots of feminine figures and emotions. I also have capricorn on my 12th house, so routine and constant reminders of my responsibilities keep popping up
Scorpio on the 12th house may have nightmares often
Gemini/Sagittarius on rhe 12th may have very bizzare dreams.
Libra on the 12th may dream a lot about relationships
We tend to turn towards the opposite house we have our Chiron in.
9th house? The person may turn towards facts, logic and education (3rd house) to make up for their wounded beliefs (others may have said they're too drastic or simply stupid, or religious trauma etc)
1st house? We tend to turn to others (7th house)
4th house Chiron can indulge too much in their career or public image(10th house)
Not much of an astro note but, any other Libra venus in the 8th house here? I swear I could have been such a flirt if I had it in the 7th house or 9th, LMAO. 8th house venus kind of hides the venus sign's traits. Only when you get to know me I truly display the Libra qualities. Until then I am like :|
Also, talking about libra venus, I saw it get a lot of hate in the community despite it being one of the best venus placements objectively.
If anyone here has Virgo sun in the 7th, please focus more on yourself and less on what others think. It is indeed a quality to be considerate, but you also have to not lose yourself
The ascendnat doesn't only represent looks amd first impressions, but also your identity and self. I don't think ascendant aspects in synastry get a lot of credit, being shunned as superficial and simply physical attraction. I believe they are the representation of how the people involved see each other and shape their identity, what sides they bring out of each other.
I think that the best compability is shown by asteroid Juno. If someone has major or prominent sign placements as your juno sign, then you are most likely a good match (especially if it's mutual)
Mars in pisces may be passive, but don't confuse that with weakness. I noticed that most of the time these people tend to brush off or try to forget conflict, which in the end can actually be beneficial (most of the time, there are moments when confrontation is needed). While some may describe them as fickle, when developed they can be very resillient ngl.
You don't relate to the physical descriptions of your ascendant? That's totally fine! There can he multiple reasons for this, first one being that astrology cannot determine how we look, genetics do that, and second you should look at your ascendant aspects and other planets you have in the 1st house.
I have aquarius rising. Most descriptions say thay we're tall, meanwhile I'm here at 5'2, buuut I also have neptune in the 1st and ascendant conjunct chiron. I don't mean to discredit people who do these descriptions, they're actually accurate! My friend also has an aquarius rising and Uranus in the 1st and they look exactly like that--
I personally love the 5th house in astrology. Mine is empty but I've met some people with stelliums in it and my god they're so fun to be around!
5th house stelliums are naturally focused on hobbies, fun activities, children and the self (not necessarily inna selfsih way lmao). They are most likely very artistic and knowledgeable in their interests.
Many squares to the midheaven can point towards difficulty in reaching dreams, but also lots lots of potential. I've read somewhere that squares are blessings in disguise, so people with an extremely squared mc will have to go through a lot but it will definitely be worth it in the end.
Not much of a note again but I have an empty 10th house but a lot of focus on the 9th and 11th house. If anyone has these as well, are you career/project oriented but very little interested in the public eye?
If you really want to get into astrology, I recommend checking out your vedic chart. You get introduced to a bunch of new aspects and systems, but in the end I personally found the analysis I got very accurate. (You can check out @meandmypeace their blog is very insightful!)
Taurus risings are really down to earth, but I noticed they tend to space out a lot
Oh, you have a Leo venus? Let me tell you how cool you are. My bestie has this placement and my god they're one of the best people to offer comfort and affection. Their way of displaying it is very cute but also rather intense. It makes my libra venus go <3 they love attention and praise but they deserve it too lmao- when healthy they really care for the people close to them and are truly protective of them. Also side note, they may or may not pride themselves in the relationships they have
And that's it. Thanks for reading!

I have watched Lucifer series finale yesterday and I am still reeling from feelings, feelings I need to work through to be able to move on.
Unfortunately, I am late to the party and I have started watching Lucifer (despite the show being on my radar for a few years already) when season 6 came out, and this turned avoiding spoilers about the ending as well as the show itself into an extremely hard task. I have, of course, seen some reactions to the ending and it was obvious that the viewers were divided between "the ending was amazing, they really did the story and the characters justice" and "what the fuck was that". I always take these reactions, especially when they come instantly after the episode has ended, with a grain of salt because, realistically, I haven't been fully satisfied with the way a tv show has ended - any tv show - since, like, 2010. However, I also know that there is a difference between "okay, the ending was anticlimactic/disappointing/etc, however, it is the journey that matters and I am still pretty happy with the show" and HIMYM type of ending where you are like "I want this show wiped from my memory because the final hour has ruined the entire experience for me". So, I took some time to reflect on the events that took place, gather my thoughts, and make my peace with the ending. After doing that, I can comfortably say that I am not fully satisfied with the ending because of one very simple reason - I can make sense of the choices taken by the character at the very end of the show only if I use "Lucifer gave Rory his word" rationale, and not because I believe in the theory they provided or the choices they make. So here are some of my thoughts about the ending of this beloved show, including both the things I liked and disliked. Be warned, there are spoilers ahead so if you haven't seen the show, the final season or the series finale, please stop reading because you don't want to manifest spoilery energy into your life!
The main thing I have a problem with is the time loop. I will begin by saying that I really dislike time travel in general - I think that it is an overly used plot divice that more than often creates holes in the story instead of driving the narrative where it needs to go, unless the concept of time travel is integral to the show, like for example in Timeless and Fringe. However, in this case, I dislike that the major characters have made a major decision (a serious, impactful, life-altering decision) based on a flimsy theory. And since they have told us exactly what will happen in the end, we simply didn't know why and how, I have expected a more bulletproof reasoning instead of a rushed conversation wrapped up in five minutes and sealed by a promise. Lucifer leaves Chloe and Rory and goes back to hell, Rory grows up resenting him and she becomes so angry she travels through time to confront him only to end up being the reason for his departure, therefore creating an unbreakable time loop. She makes her parents give her their word that they won't change a thing in order to make sure that Lucifer discovers his true calling, which is helping souls in Hell break their hell loops and ascend to Heaven. And the reason I am so hesitant to accept this is because of two reasons:
1. Lucifer has made amazing progress through the show when it comes to his character development, finding his worth and making peace with his identity, and yet you are trying to tell me that this is the only way he would discover his true calling, especially now when he has a higher level of understanding himself than ever before? And especially since these thoughts and doubts have already been in his mind aka him postponing to become God long before Rory's arrival into their timeline!
2. The consequences of our actions are the results of the choices we make, not the other way around. And sometimes, different choices can lead to different outcomes and sometimes the array of choices we make lead to the same outcome. It is absolutely possible that if they broke the time loop and made different choices, that their actions would lead them to the same outcome aka Lucifer finding his calling while remaining in their lives. I think that it is fully possible for them to make a timeline B (the timeline that would have been created if they broke the time loop) based on the discoveries from the timeline A (their current timeline). There's no reason for me to believe otherwise.
Apart from the discovery of Lucifer's calling, the only thing that came out of the time loop was pain, suffering and probably a lot of loneliness. Even the good things that came out of the time loop (like Lucifer and Rory bonding) are a consequence of the pain that it caused. Of course, if they broke a time loop and created a completely new timeline, choices they would make there could theoretically end up having worse consequences on their lives. They could also be better, or they could be completely the same. The thing is, we don't know, we can only speculate and that is exactly what bothers me. The main characters made a major decision based on a speculation. I don't necessarily have a problem with the things that have happened, but rather with how they happened and how they were explained. Or better to say, how they weren't. I think that they should have completely dedicated the season to exploring this and reassuring us that this is the right choice to make and the right way to go.
Also, the concept of free will and making one's own choices has been pretty integral to the show. We have watched Lucifer struggle with the concept since the beginning of the show because he was convinced he is only a puppet in his father's grand plans. There were many events in the show reinforcing that belief, like Chloe being the gift from God. It took him seasons to accept that he chose to stay in her life, to be close to her, to be her partner in work as well as in life and in that acceptance he finally found the strength to tell her that he loves her. He chose her and she chose him. And while one can argue that leaving them and going back to hell was Lucifer's choice (since, technically, he could have chosen to break his word to his daughter and change things), it is one he didn't want to make. In the final episode he says that he desires to watch his daughter grow up and before he leaves for Hell he tells Chloe he doesn't want to leave her (she even responds that she doesn't want him to leave either, but that this is the choice that they are making for Rory's sake), making me feel like he is making this choice out of duty, out of fear and not because he wants to. He finally accepted that the choices he makes are his and his only, and the final choice in the show was made for him instead by him - I really don't think that the character deserved this. Lucifer gave Rory his word and we know he always goes by his word - they have turned one of the most essential qualities of his character into a plot device and an instrument that caused pain. Additionally, since Rory asked him not to change anything, it was implied that Lucifer can't come back to Earth in order not to risk changing anything even though it is completely possible for him to balance his work hours in Hell and his family time on Earth, like Amenadiel did. I also found this completely unfair and it felt like Lucifer was "banished" to Hell, not only missing out on being with Chloe and watching Rory grow up, but also staying away from his friends and the life he had built for himself. However, on the brighter side, Lucifer doing this - something he doesn't completely understand, something he doesn't want to do - is incredibly selfless of him and only shows how much he has grown. A character who has been described as selfish and self-serving from the very beginning does something so ultimately selfless, something that doesn't serve him in any way - quite the opposite, it pains him. As I said, I don't necessarily mind how things played out, I mind the lack of guarantee that they had to be this way. The only thing we don't know is if Lucifer and Chloe were in contact over the years since Chloe could have kept in touch with him behind Rory's back - maybe she sent him pictures of Rory, and maybe they exchanged letters. I am very doubtful because this would probably make the whole situation harder on them nor do I think that they would risk it because they wouldn't be able to know if their actions are breaking the time loop or if they are a part of the original timeline but hey, this is the stuff that fan fictions are made of!
And finally, I very much disliked the parallel between Lucifer and God - Lucifer abandoning his child for the sake of doing his job and that child growing up resenting him - if it was their intention to draw such a parallel. I think that God somewhat "redeemed" himself in Lucifer's eyes and that through accepting himself Lucifer also learned how to stop resenting his father for the things that transpired between them, and I don't necessarily believe that Lucifer had to walk in his father's shoes to understand him. So, in my opinion, this was completely unnecessary. Something I did like was Lucifer's calling - I think that it shows nicely the full circle he has made and that the souls he thought he is supposed to torture he is now helping heal. In a way, Hell is also the reflection of who Lucifer is - when he saw himself as broken, as evil, as unworthy and undeserving, Hell was also a place of torture - it was a reflection of him. And now that he accepted himself and that others have accepted him for who he is as well, it is a place of healing. In the end, Hell is his kingdom and he can choose to rule it the way he wants to. He broke his own hell loop and he truly became a lightbringer.
And, of course, Lucifer and Chloe (they are so soft and I am so soft for them). Taking into consideration my very bad OTP track reckord, I kinda expected a much, much worse ending for them - I mean, the Devil falling in love with a human, what could possibly go wrong, right? I knew from the very beginning that they aren't getting a pure, wholeseome, family-like ending. In order for that to happen, she would either have to become immortal (leaving Trixie, losing her detective identity), or he would have to become mortal - both of these scenarios feel cheap and I never would have wanted this for them or the show. Another option was to give them their happy life on Earth but then they would either have to leave a somewhat open ending or deal with the fact that ultimately, as a mortal, Chloe will die. And if they were given their happy ending on Earth, who knows if they would end up together in afterlife. Even if they did, it definitely wouldn't feel as emotional and as gratifying as it does now. The thing is, it is easy to give in to the pain of their separation when we measure it by the pivotal moments of happiness and loss that drive the lives of humans - him not being there when Rory was born or when she grew wings or when she started school - and it is even harder when you know how much she needed him and how much he wanted to be there for her. It is even more painful when you think about Chloe spending her entire lifetime without him, carrying all that pain inside of her, and him spending what had to be centuries alone in Hell. However, this is a fantasy show and many of our characters are immortal, celestial beings who have a different understanding of time, so maybe the idea of what a happy ending is and the rules for measuring happiness aren't the same as they would have been under other circumstances. Chloe became lieutenant and tried to make a difference, and she got to raise her daughters and see them grow up, and Lucifer helped so many souls heal, doing so much good. And now they get to spend the eternity together, solving crimes and kicking ass in the afterlife! Many of their friends and family are immortal, celestial beings too and (I am pretty sure) they can pay a visit to their human friends in Heaven... or see them in Hell, but let's hope not! In the end, what is one lifetime compared to eternity? Of course, none of this makes for the time they have lost, the momories they didn't get to make and the moments he wasn't there for, but now there are so many new memories they will get to make and so many moments to catch up on. It is bittersweet, but I think that's how it was supposed to be - in the end, pain is part of life.
I also have a few (dis)honourable mentions:
1. I am really sad and disappointed Lucifer didn't get to say goodbye to Trixie. She was gone for the majority of the season, but she was also a very important person in his life and he loved her. And we know how much she loved him.
2. I can't get over Rory travelling through time to kill her father because she is angry at him... sis, you kill him before he makes you, you wipe yourself out of existence.
3. I can't believe that they were surprised that Chloe got pregnant after having loads of superhuman sex (without any protection, apparently) after another human already got pregnant with an angel not that long ago.
4. Lucifer saying goodbye to Maze will forever remain one of the most beautiful scenes in the show.
5. The final major scene between Chloe and Lucifer, where they say goodbye before he leaves for hell, lives in my head rent free. I was choking on tears watching that scene, I literally had to pause and rewind three times. Such a beautiful(ly painful) scene. Also, when you have a ship and a person A says to the person B "close your eyes", pain is coming. I swear I travelled back to 1999 when Buffy said the same thing to Angel before sending him to a hell dimension.
6. When Chloe dies and goes to Heaven and Amenadiel greets her and asks her if she's ready to go home and then takes her to Lucifer was so pure. Her Heaven is being in Hell with Lucifer and there's something deeply poetic about that.
7. Hearing hello detective for the last time cleared my skin.
I have really and truly enjoyed the show, and the minor inconsistencies I see in its ending can't change that. I loved the show because it told stories about people and it allowed them to drive the narrative, and I can't say many shows these days do that.

I'm very new to this and don't know any theories yet. Anyway, what's up with Joe? Is it (double) bearding/pr? To my knowledge it all clashes with Kaylor and I also can't figure out how Jaylor could even be real. To my understanding Kaylor also broke up, am I right in assuming that it's what "we" assume?
Let me start by saying that there is no real consensus among gaylors. There is not really a “we”. Most gaylors have our own views and some overlap, but not all.
There are gaylors who think Taylor is bi/queer and is really with Joe. There are others who think she is bi/queer and Joe is a beard (maybe originally for Karlie and/or Lily Donaldson, but was extended due to quarantine).
There are gaylors who think Taylor is a lesbian, but only some of the boyfriends have been beards (meaning some think she dealt with comphet beyond high school). Then there are gaylors like me who believe that Taylor probably dated guys in high school because of peer pressure or comphet, but is a lesbian and all of the public boyfriends have been beards.
My best advice for someone just starting to look into gaylor, is to read up on the theories and look at all the evidence and decide what makes the most sense to you. None of us can really know the truth because we don’t know Taylor like that, where she is divulging her secrets to us. If we did, we probably wouldn’t be speculating about it online (and probably signed a NDA anyway). Or, at least, I hope no one in her inner circle who she truly trusts would do that.
Some suggestions:
Start here with a Kaylor leaning master post that touches on Swiftgron and Taymily.
Then check out this more in-depth Swiftgron master post.
You can read the Tayliz master post, but not many gaylors believe in Tayliz. It’s my favorite to speculate about, but I’m still not totally convinced.
Another speculated relationship, but not very popular, is Tily. You can read up on it here.
There are things in most of the master posts that don’t really line up for me, but overall, they provide a decent overview because they usually include all or most of the known pictures, mentions, tweets, ig posts, etc. of Taylor and that woman. I’m sure you can find others by googling “Gaylor Swift timeline” or “Gaylor Swift master post”, but, again, keep in mind that there will likely always be some bias thrown in by the creator. I am not saying that in a bad way. It’s very difficult not to do that, as I have done it myself when writing certain things.
Long story short… (or not so short)
I believe Joe is a beard and probably a close friend who was meant to cover for Karlie and/or Lily and maybe some other woman/women over the last 5 years. I don’t really have enough of an opinion to speculate if it’s a double bearding set up or if it’s purely bearding for her and PR for him. There are blind items suggesting he is a beard and that he secretly hooked up with men, but take all that with a grain of salt, ofc.
I believe Kaylor broke up in 2016 and Taylor dated Lily for a couple years, while Joe acted as cover so she could have a reason for being in London so much. Some think Kaylor may have been on and off until 2020, but I just don’t think that’s the case. IMO, Kaylor was falling apart in early-mid 2016 (Cruel Summer), Taylor may have tried to keep things going, but Karlie chose Josh and ended things with Taylor in late 2016 and Taylor rebounded with Lily and ran away to London. Kaylor may have hooked up a couple more times after that, but they were only seen together once after November 2016 and that was when Karlie attended a 2018 Reputation Tour show in Nashville during her bachelorette week (could be part of what Taylor is talking about in MTR with “And you're the hero flying around, saving face”).
I think Taylor is single or was for a while after 2018. She may have hooked up with other women in the meantime or may have a super secret girlfriend. I mean, she has written/spoken plenty about being in a relationship that no one knows about with someone living a normal, private life, which would not apply to Joe, Lily, or Karlie, all of whom were involved in the entertainment industry prior to meeting Taylor, meaning they have some kind of not normal life and at least some interest in being a celebrity, or at least being a known/respected actor in Joe’s case. Otherwise, why pursue that kind of career, expecting to get any work?
Like I said, this is just what I think and I could be wrong. I suggest looking at all the “evidence” that is out there and figuring out what makes the most sense to you. I tend to lurk more often than not because I see a lot of gaylors, especially the newer ones, have much different views than I do and I’d rather not get in a disagreement about something that we’re all kind of just viewing through our own perspectives, you know?
I hope this was helpful in some way, Anon. I may not be the best help because I have what I think some would see as a pretty out there gaylor stance and have held it for quite some time and I think some people just don’t understand how someone could go to the certain lengths it would take for Taylor to have stayed in the closet, but I do.
Anyway, happy researching, Anon. Welcome to the rabbit hole. I must warn you, once you enter, you may find it very difficult to get out.

BRF Reading, 5/7/2021
I am planning to continue reading for the rest of the BRF members on how their July would be, but I had this question popping on my mind when I had my tea earlier today, so I feel like I need to draw on this. I've been seeing allegations and teas of Meghan did this, Meghan did that, she's crazy jealous towards Catherine, she's overly obsessed with William, she is abusive towards Harry, she wants to be the Queen Consort, etc etc yadda yadda. This honestly had me wondering, how does Meghan look at herself? What does she see when she sees herself in the mirror? How does she perceive herself? This is also one reading I'd like to try a new spread of cards, so there is also that.
As written, this is merely a speculation and therefore must be taken with a grain of salt. This speculation is not true until proven otherwise.
Naturally, my question is, how does Meghan perceive herself?
Cards drawn: Six of Pentacles, Three of Pentacles, Five of Wands, King of Wands, Three of Cups, The High Priestess, The Fool, Temperance, The Hanged Man, Knight of Pentacles
Remarks/Comment: I tell you, working with a spread where half of the cards are major arcana is honestly shit. So many energies to read from, so many energies pulling the reading this and that way.
To make it more digestible and bearable to read for us all (and for me to type), I will divide the cards I've drawn into two parts. I will start my analysis with the first part, and then I'll be going over to the second part, and then the conclusion will be an overall overview of the spread.
First part: Six of Pentacles, Three of Pentacles, Five of Wands, King of Wands, Three of Cups, The High Priestess.
This section of the spread is the so-called "the cross" part, where these cards represent the happenings of the subject's life, internally and externally.
Now, the cross part itself can be divided into two parts: the axis and the wheel. The axis is the two centre cards, which are the heart of the matter, the foundation of the reading, the energy of the reading, whatever the semantics are. The rest of the cards are the wheel, the events that revolve around the central issue.
First card: Six of Pentacles. This is the so-called "present situation" card, mostly about what is currently happening at the present time, and also reflects someone's state of mind and how they perceive the situation (or themselves). Now, this is interesting, because this reaffirms what I have been seeing a lot with other readers: that Meghan and Harry are in debt. Six of Pentacles is generally a card of generosity, self-care, sharing wealth, and charity -- but one of its meanings is also unpaid debts and that meaning just jumped out of the cards. As one of the two cards of the axis, this tells me that this is one of the two parts of the heart of the matter. Meghan and Harry are in debt and they cannot pay for it.
Second card: Three of Pentacles. The so-called "problem" card. Generally, this card represents teamwork and collaboration, but because of its place, this card tells me that Meghan perceives herself as working alone and without allies. There are disagreements, or to be more Shakespeare-ish, disharmony. Combined with the Six of Pentacles, this tells me that Meghan and Harry are in disharmony, probably because of the outstanding debts that they cannot pay.
Third card: Five of Wands. The card of fighting for the sake of fighting. This is the "past" card, and as such, this is also similar to the card of "past influence". There have been fighting in the past. There is a change. There is tension. This card tells us that everyone is fighting to be heard, but no one is listening. This is how Meghan viewed herself: that no one is listening to her. She has told herself in the past that she was a victim, that no one listened to her when she spoke, and she used it as a weapon in public. Remember how she told Oprah in that interview that she was not "heard"? That she was "belittled" and "bullied"? That the Royal Family "bullied" her by allegedly asking what Archie's skin colour would be?
Fourth card: King of Wands. This is the so-called future card. Along with the tenth card, this usually speaks about how the near future would impact the final resolution/the outcome. King of Wands is a card about someone who is a natural-born leader, a visionary, honoured, and an entrepreneur. So, this card could mean that in the future, Meghan perceives herself and wants to be perceived as all these good things. But in reality, she is someone who is impulsive and ruthless. She doesn't think things through and cannot decide which lies to keep feeding the public with, which is why her stories are riddled with lies and holes. And the more she gives in to her impulsiveness, the more that everyone can see those holes in her stories. And even if she decides on one lie to keep and feed the public with, that can be debunked. Very easily.
Fifth card: Three of Cups. This is the "conscious" card of the cross part, talking about assumptions and desires. Cups are the suit of emotions, and Three of Cups is strongly associated with celebration, and it is an interesting card to come up with, to say the least. She desires to be celebrated. The centre of attention. But, this could also say that she's been partying very hard or is just overspending in general, which could answer why she had those outstanding debts she cannot pay.
Sixth card: The High Priestess. This is the so-called "unconscious" card, the underlying reasons for the manifestation of desires/assumptions seen in the fifth card. The High Priestess is a feminine card, speaking about intuition, the subconscious mind, secrets, withdrawal, and silence. This is interesting because at least for me, the cards do not match. When we celebrate something, it is because of something that has been answered. A birth, a promotion, a big event that brings such joy that it is worth celebrating. The High Priestess is the card of being quiet, trusting your intuition, and discarding all the unnecessary influence in order to understand your mind and what your intuition is telling you. This tells me that Meghan's desires and her underlying unconscious, the things she cannot control, are not matching, meaning she does not even understand what she wants.
But, as I am not confident in this interpretation, I decided to draw a clarifier on The High Priestess.
Clarified by: Three of Wands. Man, what's up with the Threes today? This card is about progress, expansion, foresight, but also about the lack of foresight. This tells me that Meghan lacks the foresight to see ahead, and so she doesn't understand what she wants and how to get there.
This part explains the second part of the spread, the so-called "staff" section. This part is given context by the cross-part, and this part is generally about someone's life outside of the situation presented by the first part of the spread.
Second part: The Fool, Temperance, The Hanged Man, Knight of Pentacles.
Honest to god, I do not like working on this part. The energy here is confusing, it feels like four people are pulling me in different directions at the same time. I've tried my best.
First card: The Fool. This is the card of beginnings, innocence, holding back, recklessness and risk-taking. Position wise, this is the card of the so-called "influence of self", so this card shows us that Meghan put herself in the situation represented by the six earlier cards by being reckless.
Second card: Temperance. This is the card of balance, moderation, patience. This is also the card of imbalance and excess. As the card of external influence, this led me to believe that people close to Meghan may have been advising her (and probably advising Harry as well) to not live excessively. To temper their emotions and not to get set off by the slightest of things. Now, as we all know, this is not their forte.
Third card: The Hanged Man. The card of waiting, stagnancy, resistance, indecision, and sacrifice. This is the card of hopes and fears -- so this card can be interpreted two ways. First is the interpretation of hope: this card might be interpreted that Harry and Meghan are hoping that people would be waiting to hear from them (aka positive PR), that everyone would bend their backs and knees at their whim, available at their every beck and call. That everyone would sacrifice everything for them.
The second interpretation would be that the fear of sacrifice. They feared sacrifice, particularly Meghan. Meghan does not want to leave Hollywood and the US, the reason she moved back to California soon after Megxit. I am thinking that she wants to be a non-working royal while she still has those juicy royal connections, something that we are all familiar with. She is asking for benefits but does not want the sacrifice that comes with it.
Fourth card: Knight of Pentacles. The so-called card of "possible outcome", this card is closely tied with the fourth card of the first part, the King of Wands. The Knight of Pentacles is the card of hard work, productivity, routine, self-discipline, boredom, and perfectionism. The King of Wands tells us that Meghan is way too impulsive to be able to be productive and do something more worthwhile other than doing PRs attacking BRF and sending out the same narrative again and again (productivity). She is too impulsive to have any kind of self-discipline and to accept responsibility.
Conclusion: This is one long and exhausting reading. Meghan and Harry are presumably in some kind of situation, money-wise, most probably outstanding debt. But instead of acknowledging that, Meghan still insists on pushing the narratives to make her the Diana 2.0, the People's Princess, the person that BRF throws away because she stands against "injustice", and above all, a victim. She desires to be celebrated, but she doesn't even know why she wants to be celebrated; she doesn't even know what she truly wants. She lacks the foresight to get what she desires. She wants the benefit of being a working royal but does not want the sacrifice that comes with it. So yes, she perceives herself as someone so important that she must always get what she wants, but she doesn't even know what she wants.

hi!!! I’m a puertorriqueño/nicaragüense enby looking into resources for learning bruja stuff, any good place you know to start?
I’ve gotten a couple of asks about this lately, and i’m so happy to know there are more latinos finding their way to the practice, tumblr’s brujeria tag often gives the impression that theres so little of us out there reclaiming our practices but getting asks like these brings me a lot of faith that thats not true :) first and foremost:
GETTING INTO BRUJERIA IS HARD.
it really is. baby brujos like us know that better than anyone- getting started, is often the hardest part of doing anything, and its no different with brujeria. it can feel so overwhelming and feeling lost is natural. from my experience, although i am still a newbie ive been able to find a lot of information out there, here are the best places to find info, sorted by priority:
FAMILY! a little self explanatory, but brujeria at its best is truly is an inherited, familial practice. If you can, before delving into internet resources, definitely connect w your family if you’re able to and ask them for guidance and about their experiences!
Your family is always the best resource over anything you can find online; theres so much misinformation out there or information not relevant to your region and if someone in your family already has established practices, always trust them first
Do some thinking back to all your cultural traditions, quirks, stories, and superstitions that you’ve  learned from your family across time and never thought too much about- and rediscover them under a new light
KEEP IN MIND: brujeria is NOT a singular , concrete practice w concrete rules in itself, the term blankets a lot of traditions across latam, the caribbean, mexico, but imo its always best to stick with brujeria related to your heritage and where your connection is.
this can be hard for people (like me!) with huge family taboos toward brujeria that make it unsafe to ask around about, and/or limitations in family connections (also like me unfortunately). I personally can really only get the tidbits and stories that my family accidentally slips out when I occasionally see them. i try to write them down as much as possible, but the info i can get is limited... and thats where the following comes in.
ONLINE COMMUNITIES. i.e, youtube, tumblr, instagram brujx communities. notice I haven’t said “internet” in general- the reason why i trust community based social media more than random individual websites you find on google is because, in the case of brujeria and honestly any non-european craft, you’re often gonna find a LOT of white people writing blogs, books, etc about their “spiritual experiences” in latam countries and wrongly/incorrectly taking ATR or indigenous traditions (like with smudging). I know, with social media, although those same white people are also on insta and tumblr, it’s a LOT easier to see the face behind the accounts and differentiate who to trust, who’s legit and has real experience to share, rather than a nameless, faceless, website that is actually some colonizer sharing colonized ideas who thinks theyre on a spiritual journey taking traditions all willy nilly. And the fact that in social media, its much easier to find a lot of good brujas at once bc they tend to follow each other lmao.what ive personally done to find information tho is essentially SCOUR tumblrs, insta accs, and watching tons of youtube videos for posts, accounts, videos, etc, and narrowing down good info from there through , namely:
CHECKING WHO YOUR SOURCE IS!!!
ASKING YOURSELF FROM WHAT EXPERIENCE THEYRE SPEAKING FROM
ALWAYS TAKING EVERYTHING WITH A GRAIN OF SALT
AND STICKING TO INFO FROM CULTURES OPEN AND RELEVANT TO ME.
again, brujería is different depending on where your family is from in latam, and if you have an established connection to indigenous and/or black roots, so it’s useful to use keywords relating to that when searching (like if ur black, you can look into ATRs(african traditional religions) which tend to mix deeply with brujeria, if ur indigenous, finding other people from your tribe is great, and if youre not pursuing your already learned traditions you can think about connecting to them more deeply(altho indigenous traditions are their own thing, sometimes they do mix with brujeria too), and apart from familial roots, if ur catholic/christian and/or want to explore it, saint work/catholic brujeria might be a good fit for you!)
tumblr: there are a couple of fantastic brujxs on this site with great blogs and resources who have sadly left the site, but i still go through their posts heavily for spells, rituals, scraps of info! etting started w brujería is hard bc there’s really not that much info out there right now, but i compile as many good brujeria posts i find on my acc.
@brujeria-n-bongs great for catholic brujeria, now at @Upliftherbs on instagram
@brujeria-lost @barberwitch @reina-morada @highbrujita
@naomi121406 is by far the most active and informative tumblr resource ive found, shes an afro-indigenous diaguita curandera from argentina so shes also really helpful if ATRs are in your path!
Im not black myself and dont follow ATRs so i don’t really know many good blogs for afrolatine brujxs out there but if anyone would like to tag some in the replies thatd be awesome!
instagram: Ive found that instagram #brujeria tags has a pretty healthy active stream of posts. You’re gonna have to sift through a lot of them to get to the good stuff though- imo a lot of hispanics use the brujería tag not to mean “latine brujería” but just the spanish word for witchcraft, so a lot of white hispanics will put wicca/neo witchcraft in the tag. imo that’s really not something i’m personally interested in bc it’s not true to brujeria’s traditional nature, is very white/eruropean , and that wicca shit basically just got here. its a relatively a recent thing😭 so i try to stick to bruja accounts that aren’t influenced by that.
youtube: The youtube brujería tag is hit or miss? and again, contains a lot of wicca. But there are some good practitioners on there like The Mexican Witch! You just gonna look around, and dont be afraid to click on videos by really really small youtubers; they often are the ones with the most informative and legit things to say!
Everyone’s path as a bruja/o/x (sjdf trying to be inclusive w gendered language is difficult) is different but here are some topics i think are great to look into as a beginner!
ancestors: start at the bottom and figure out who they are, where theyre from, and set up an altar. it’ll help you a lot with figuring out your identity and path as a bruja later on.
setting up a grimoire
divination: tarot is actually what got me into brujeria at first! tarot isnt strictly traditional and is european in itself but its a wonderful tool for connecting to dieties, saints, etc as well as super fun and helps a lot with introspection
ritual abrecaminos, aka road opening spells!
amarres (love spells... proceed with caution)
limpias, mal de ojo
saint work: even if you’re not catholic (im ex catholic), a growing number of us (especially lgbt latines like @/upliftherbs on instagram) are starting to take back and decolonize our view of saints like La Virgen Maria and removing her from the rigid european/colonized interpretation thats been forced into us
candle spells in general (i fucking love candles tbh, cheap, easy, fun, and WORKS)
spiritual colognes, how to cleanse
finally, here are some helpful posts yall should definitely read and think about moving forward!
about using tumblr as a resource
about looking into brujeria as a part-white part latine
bruja psa + about reclaiming lost indiginety
honestly naomi’s entire brujeria tag is great and super informative for beginners and basically holds answers for almost anything at this point
hope this post helps yall out!
Tumblr media
EDIT: oh lord now that this is posted the outline format i tried to use is all kinds of fucked up please dont mind the odd numbering lmfao tumbr hates organized formats

Practical Tips for ADHD College Students
I know a few posts like this already exist, but I wanted to add my own experiences to the mix in case it would be helpful to someone else. Some of these will look familiar, some not so much.
Disclaimers: 1) What works for me may not work for you, take everything with a grain of salt and experiment, 2) These are what I’m using for a 4-year school but I imagine it would be applicable for any college? I wish I’d known to do some of these things when I was at CC, 3) I won’t pretend that I am an ADHD success story, not yet. I’m still finding my way, learning to cope, learning to thrive. It’s a process.
NOTE: This post is kinda long; if it’s too long I recommend just reading the bolded/italicized headings and only reading the ones that pique your interest :)
Sensory Issues:
Wear comfortable clothing: Screw the mentality that you always have to look your best in college. At the end of the day, feeling hot but ridiculously uncomfortable will trigger sensory issues (especially if you’re someone who is sensitive to certain materials/styles of clothing) and it will impact concentration and can cause a lot of distress. Are you comfortable in those sweatpants, pajama bottoms, baggy shirts? Cool, wear them.
Stim toys: Love yourself, buy (or make!) stim toys and bring them to school. Can’t speak for CC because I didn’t use stim toys when I went, but at my 4-year school everyone is too busy drowning in deadlines to notice you squishing thinking putty or using a fidget cube under the table.
Try different stim toys: I used to get caught up on trying to make the more popular stim toys work for me when they didn’t, so I had to experiment a bit to see what worked. It’s not always as simple as cubes, spinners, squishy toys, etc. If you have issues with texture you’ll want to really experiment, especially with things like putty, squishibles, etc. to see what is comfortable and what isn’t. But there’s a big ol’ market out there!
Headphones/Earplugs: The single most helpful sensory detail for me was always bringing my headphones to campus. I get easily overstimulated in uncontrolled situations with lots of different sounds. I make sure my volume is enough to block the noise out, but the songs I choose in these instances are usually familiar, so they don’t provide too much new stimulation when I can’t handle it. I also keep earplugs in my backpack for exams.
Studying/School Related:
If possible, leave your house: This has been one of the hardest changes I’ve had to make because I’m an introvert and genuinely prefer being home. But I’m starting to learn that my ass will not do work 9/10 times when I’m home. Too much to do, too many other things to get done, lots of fun distractions, and cats! So many cats! Unfortunately cats won’t take my exams. I’ve found that the library is okay, but for me small cafes worked much better. Armed with my headphones, some coffee, and an atmosphere that caters to silently getting work done, I’m able to focus longer, and to focus on what I really need to.
Note-taker: Admittedly I’m talking out of my ass on this one, because I haven’t yet done this. But that’s exactly why I want to stress getting a note-taker. My college life would be infinitely better if I’d done this when the semester started; instead, my notes have gaps where I couldn’t concentrate, or couldn’t process what was being discussed, etc.
Other accommodations: Accommodations for ADHD differ depending on the college, but some of the common ones are: note-takers, silent exam spaces, assignment extensions, and use of tech such as recorders, speech-to-text software... If you’re like I was and are worried that you’re asking too much asking for accommodations, remember two important things: 1) Accommodations exist to level the playing field, not to give us an edge, and 2) YOU PAY FOR THIS SERVICES. That huge, overwhelming tuition bill with all those “extra fees”? You’re paying for these services already, might as well take advantage of them!
Talk to your professors: This part is truly terrifying for me, but I’ve started opening up this semester to my professors and it has made a difference. The professor for my hardest class actually has a son with adhd so she understood and was even able to provide me with some resources that would help. At the very least, it made my professors aware of my struggles and aware that I wasn’t just being lazy, which calmed my RSD a bit.
Organization: Staying organized is important for any college student, but especially for those with adhd. We lose things a lot, and if things aren’t in obvious, constant places it becomes so much easier to lose or forget where we put things. That being said, your ‘organized’ will probably not be other peoples ‘organized’. For example, I use my Ipsy bags for organization. One holds any writing utensils, flashcards, and post-its, another holds anything medical-related, etc. It seems a bit cluttered and disorganized to other people but it works for me. So try keeping things in the same spot if possible, but remember that finding what organizational structures work for you might take time and effort. If your school has success coaching, I highly recommend it for this purpose! Which brings me to the next point.
Success Coaching: Most colleges offer some kind of program like this, though names may differ. Success Coaching is designed for students of any academic level in order to help them get and stay on track. My college offers study skills, schedule planning, test prep, time management, help navigating campus resources, and a whole host of others. And the people doing the coaching are usually grad students who’ve been through the process. They’re typically trained in working with students with adhd, because that tends to be a significant portion of their students. They’re also just really nice to talk to. Almost like a therapist, but not quite.
Really forgetful? The best thing you can do is change your environment, not try to change yourself. You probably won’t be able to stop your brain from forgetting your notebook at home, but you can get a five subject and keep it in your backpack at all times. Same with folders. Keep losing pens/pencils? Just get a fuckton and shove them in a pouch in your backpack in the beginning of the semester. I’m not kidding when I say I have at least 20 pens and pencils in mine, not including the glitter pens and highlighters.
Planners: Many people have said that it will take time to find just the right planner for you, and they’re correct. The planner I use right now is 8x11 with wide boxes. Some prefer smaller planners, others will use planner apps or just the calendar in their phone. You’ll have to mess around a bit to see what works for you, but you do have options!
Printables: Oh man I love printables so much, but a lot of the time I find that they’re more trouble maintaining than my adhd can handle. You can find a ton on tumblr, free to download and print, and some very beautiful packs for sale on etsy. Right now I use a monthly budget printable and one for studying terms/definitions. Sometimes the adhd mind needs something pretty and different to cling to, so I try to switch things up every so often.
Color-coding: This absolutely will not work for everyone (I’ve seen people say color-coding notes gets the hung up on the coding and not the notes, and I can definitely see that happening). For me, I use color-coding in my planner. Each class gets its own color. This keeps me from seeing a page covered in the same color of ink or pencil and mentally blocking it out. Gelly roll has the most amazing glitter pens!
Test prep: Will vary depending on the person and how they learn best, but for me I’ve found that no one method will work on its own. I have class notes, typed notes, hand-written flashcards, flashcards on quizlet. I won’t pretend that it’s easy; it’s fuck-all time consuming and sometimes I don’t have energy for it, but depending on the class I usually need a combination of at least two different methods to work. This is definitely something success coaching can work with you to figure out!
General Life Advice (that will impact college):
Get on a sleep schedule: I don’t even care what your particular schedule is (because it’ll vary person to person) but just get on one. Much easier said than done, because our brains never want to shut up at night, but lack of a consistent sleep schedule will mess with your concentration, focus, hypersensitivity, etc.
I’ll just do this later...: is the adhd monster talking. What even is later? Does it exist? Sometimes I have to tell myself “nope, we’re doing this right now!” Doesn’t always work, but I try my hardest to do things in the moment if executive dysfunction isn’t at my door.
Develop a support system: This can be difficult because sometimes making and maintaining friendships with adhd can be hard, and sometimes family members aren’t very receptive or supportive. But a strong support system can make all the difference in the world! If your current friends don’t understand the extent of what you’re dealing with, send some resources their way and you might be surprised how fast they get in your corner. But sometimes people without adhd just don’t get it. If your college has a meet-up for students with adhd like mine does, this is a great place to meet like-minded students who understand what you’re going through and can provide support and advice!
I’m going to stop this here because it’s already too long, but I hope this is helpful to someone and I’d love it if you could add your own tips as well!

Can I get some ES from Nat too? If it’s ok. Feels like I exist for one thing and that thing only. But I already tried to go for that as a career and it left me more destroyed than motivated. So when I tried to prove myself I could do something else, I couldn’t. No matter how hard I tried, it seems my only trait is doing that and that’s it. So, now that is exam season, I’m not sure if I just wanna suck it up and choose a random career or keep trying to make my way with that thing.
1. Are you happy doing this thing
2. Does it fulfill you in a significant way
3. Do you have to profit from it for it to be enjoyable
I ask these three questions, because I see a couple of different potential issues and solutions here. I have seen a lot especially in creative careers, that it's very common to burn out trying desperately to make a living at it and taking a lot of the passion and adoration of what you do out of it and replacing that with your bank account. So, if that's the sort of issue we're talking about, it may be worth considering continuing on with this thing that you feel utterly called to do, and feel as part of your life, but take the profit out of it. Something doesn't have to be monetized or profitable to be worthwhile. your worth does not rely on your productivity or profitability.
Secondarily, I'm seeing you mention that you have tried to do something else, but couldn't . I would ask if it's something that you were very new to and didn't have a lot of practice at... In which case, it may just have been you judging yourself on a new thing by the standards of the thing that you've been doing forever, have lots of experience and practice with, and so will be on a different level automatically.
I am not your academic or career advisor, and you should take everything I say with a grain of salt, but I would absolutely never advise to simply go for something random. you may end up miserable all over again doing something that you didn't even want to do in the first place.
I would try to divorce personal fulfillment from employment or career. jobs and companies and employers will come and go, and it can be incredibly dangerous to place any of your self-esteem or how you value yourself on your employment status or potential career.
Your career is not your worth as a person. I really cannot emphasize that enough.
I would take a little bit of time, without making yourself feel pressured to pick something in that time, to make a list of potential areas of interest career-wise. Art - graphic design, illustration. English - writing, journalism, etc. Statistics, math, history, etc. Maybe do a little research on what careers are available within those areas of interest, whichever ones call to you most. see if there's something that you could be just as passionate about, or even if you're not passionate, happy doing so that you can afford to come home and do the thing you are passionate about.
whatever it is, I guarantee that this trait you are discussing is not the only thing that matters about you, it is not all that you are, it does not define your worth or your value. You are more than that.
But please do not just "choose a random career". That could be truly disastrous and you don't want to spend years studying something you're miserable in only to work at something you're miserable in.

The Disney Princess Reviews: Introduction
When I was a little girl, I was obsessed with animation... okay as an adult I still am. The difference though is now I’ve seen so much and know overall what to expect. But as a kid? It was a whole new world. Every film, every show was a new adventure. It’s a feeling that you can honestly ever get as a kid. But of course, out of everything, the animations that I have always gone back to over and over are the Disney Animated Features. They followed me as a child. As a teenager. Even now as an adult. They are timeless. Even as a cynical adult more aware of Disney’s... not so great side, nothing will ever rip the joy that these films have given me and the love for animation that they inspired in me.
But there is one certain group of films that has always stood out to me above the rest: the Disney Princess films. I mean I WAS int he target demographic and was a little girl who liked pink, dresses, and tiaras. Only my love of pink has stood firm when older, but still. The Disney Princesses are some of the most well-known films and characters... as well as some of the most controversial due to arguments over sexism and how well they truly are as role models. There is no argument that the marketing can border on sexist, as with most marketing. But does that inherently make the films and the Princesses themselves bad?
I had debated about doing this review series for years. I’m not a professional critic. I barely even qualify as a critic. My reviewing chops has been limited to two web cartoons, after all. But after much thought... I’ve decided to go ahead and do it. Why? The main reason being if I keep saying ‘I wanna do it, but I’m afraid to’, it’s never gonna be done. I do reviews for fun and to let out my own viewpoint. I’m not here to change anyone’s views on anything or make some Earth-shattering revelations about these films/characters. I’m just a Disney fangirl who wants to talk about the stories that inspired me. These characters mean a lot to me. Sure I love some more than others, but there’s always at least something to appreciate with them. Long story short, I’m here to have fun. Why should I be afraid to do that?
So every month beginning in August, I will be reviewing every one of the Disney Princess films. I will be covering them in chronological order, with one exception. The reason will be explained at the bottom. So releases will go something like this:
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Cinderella
Sleeping Beauty
The Little Mermaid
Beauty and the Beast
Aladdin
Pocahontas
Mulan
The Princess and the Frog
Tangled
Brave
Moana
Frozen/Frozen 2 (Elsa Edition)
Frozen/Frozen 2 (Anna Edition)
Okay, so the exception. Now officially, Frozen does NOT count as part of the franchise, hence why they are at the very bottom (that and I gotta do two parts). I’m including them because they are usually included unofficially, they are mainstream enough that I think it’s justified, and because I want to since I have a lot to say. But they will go after Moana since that’s the final official Princess chronologically (at least for now).
So that’s fourteen princesses, fourteen films. Simple! So, here are a few ground rules for how this will work:
As previously mentioned, all will be done in chronological order barring the Frozen exception
I am watching all of these via Disney+. Brave and Frozen are the only ones I have a physical copy of. If for whatever reason a movie gets taken off, I will have to put it off. If we lose Disney+ for whatever reason, I’ll have to put everything on hold until I can figure out something.
The current plan is to go via a monthly schedule, aiming for the first or second week of the month. Might go faster once we get into certain territory, or might go slower due to research/other commitments. We shall see.
I am ONLY covering the films in the animated canon. So no direct-to-video films, TV shows, live-action remakes, etc. I will only use supplementary material for stuff like names if necessary. Otherwise, they do not influence these reviews aside form maybe a passing mention.
This is only my personal opinion. I will do my best to explain my point, but it may greatly differ from yours. I’m here to have fun, not start any arguments, or make people feel bad. I will do my best to be mindful of certain topics like race, gender identity, etc. Remember to take anything that I say about the films with a grain of salt. It all only my opinion.
Okay, think that’s all the important parts. I’ll add/adjust as necessary. Man... after putting it off for so long, I am finally doing this. It’s crazy! I’m so excited to relive these old favorites though! Hopefully, I can do them justice. Okay, I think that’s it for now! Thank you everyone for reading! The first review will be for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and is all set for August! Hope you all will enjoy it! Until then, keep dreaming everyone~

NAME — arden olivia rockefeller.
NICKNAMES — n/a?
PRONOUNS — she/her.
AGE & DOB — 21 & august 23, 1998.
PLACE OF BIRTH — new york city, new york.
NATIONALITY — american.
MAJOR — psychology & political science.
EDUCATION — cape coral international school.
CLUBS — student government, unicef campus initiative, and lacrosse.
* background overview !
arden is twins with her brother, neels, both first born to this half of the rockefeller generation (he’s older by several minutes, but she’ll never attest to that) they’ve always been kinda close but never attached at the hip.
you know, i honestly feel like she had a fairly decent? childhood? like nothing was really wrong, just that her parents were always busy and never really gave the attention they should’ve to young children.
she was typically always very bright and cheery to everyone, evoking a “your daughter’s so sweet” from most people she met, which felt like the biggest compliment to her, because it meant that someone thought she was nice even if they disliked the rest of her family for any given reason, kind of like a twisted self worth?
her parents definitely would’ve preferred she did something that seemed more feminine, but arden found a love for kickboxing and later lacrosse, the two sports a great place for her to channel her energy into, letting her mellow out when she’s going through her day to day routine.
arden’s still figuring out how to be both who she’s expected to be and who she wants to be without facing any real repercussions, but hasn’t quite gotten that part down yet.
it was always known she could come to cape coral, considering her family, but she’s lowkey really grateful that she was given the opportunity to study what she wanted where she wanted.
that being said.... she’s still kinda a bitch. i mean, someone she knew from outside of cape coral wanted to applied and had gotten accepted, but arden had worried that they would interfere from her getting idk maybe a spot in the student government or accepted into her research program etc etc, so she talked to her grandfather and had their admission deferred a year so that her studies wouldn’t be affected.
* personality !
okay so,,,she is New so i’m still working out all the kinks but for the most part, she’s just.. neutral
before, she used to be like aggressively happy and cheery and nice. probably to compensate for the fact that everyone around her just seemed so mean.
she’s always hated being seen as weaker than or less than anyone else, which is partially why she’s taken up lacrosse and boxing, much to her grandfather’s distaste.
now she’s more focused on herself and is capable of being able to brush off any kind of comment that comes from people she doesn’t feel like directly affect her, which isn’t a great mentality to have but neither is caring too much about what other people think
the part of her that was very kind and viewed life with a sweet naivety is there, but heavily guarded and buried. she just feels like, it’s not something that’ll do her much good rather than leave her looking a mess or fool when someone takes advantage of it.
she’s like,,,the person that isn’t afraid to knock you down a few pegs but will do so with the sweetest smile on her face to really seal the deal.
she found an interest in politics, actually hating the way things were run but really enjoying finding out why people did and voted and favored the things they did, so she’s double majoring in psychology and political science
she tries to do everything on her own and hates asking for help, like even when she really needs to, but it’s mostly because really needing someone makes her uneasy because she’s always wondering if they’re going to leave her eventually or if they’re just using her or if they really don’t care about her the way she cares for them
that being said, she’s loyal as all hell to her loved ones. like will literally help you get away with murder if you asked her for help, once you’ve reached that point you are absolutely important to her.
* character tropes !
so she’s basically the maiden in the sense that she’s typically overly self confident and finds herself in positions where she’s stuck and needs help, whether it’s being in too many things at once and being too spread out or like in actual danger. arden heavily takes after her parents in the sense that she wants to be wholly capable of taking care of herself, the feeling of being dependent on someone making her uneasy. because of this, she finds herself in situations that could’ve been completely avoided if she had just taken a step off her high horse and admitted or realized she couldn’t do it on her own. the confidence she exhibits today was a learned trait however, arden getting her heartbroken by someone she had really loved taught her how to be comfortable with herself and just be a Badass, but protect the softer side to herself from then on.
* playlist !
wasabi — little mix:
stick like toffee, sip like coffee wake up, change your mind and drop me love to hate me, crazy, shady spit me out like hot wasabi lick me up, I'm sweet and salty mix it up and down my body love to hate me, praise me, shame me either way you talk about me
arden’s a strong believer in the quote by william shakespeare “love me or hate me, both are in my favour. If you love me, i will always be in your heart… if you hate me, i’ll always be in your mind.” she’s really aware of how she can come across as, but is really selective in who she cares to spend time showing her full self to. everyone else and every other opinion gets taken with a grain of salt. she’s definitely had friends that only used her for her name and then dropped her once they were done, she wasted no time moving on.
hold me while you wait — lewis capaldi:
i wish you'd cared a little more (hold me while you wait) i wish you'd told me this before (hold me while you wait) my love, my love, my love, my love won't you stay a while? (hold me while you wait)
a few years ago, she was in a relationship where she had cared a little bit too much about what they thought of her, finding herself seeking their approval for everything, truly believing this person was the sun. she fell hard and fast for them and they took advantage of this and cheated on her, thinking that they would get away with it… and they did for a while. arden tried to excuse it because of how much she loved them, but was starting to feel like she was never going to be good enough for them, but staying with them until things ultimately came to an end, still holding onto the hope that things would change. eventually she realized that she couldn’t keep holding onto that relationship forever and things ended.
winter — relic:
where am i going? i can’t see nothing but the road that’s out in front of me i think it’s snowing
arden’s the worst at multitasking and it shows even in her life. she’s very one track minded and knows what she wants out of it, but only sees one way to get there, so everything that’s the tiniest bit off her track, she gets thrown off completely and needs someone to just nicely push her back in the direction she was headed.
* aesthetics !
candle lights, the breathlessness felt when seeing big city skylines, scrunchies, tart strawberries dipped in sugar, iced coffee in mason jars, long swooping cursive, high-waisted jeans, half opened jewelry boxes, setting a new pen against fresh paper, standing outside during the middle of a sun-shower, tucked in shirts, a hand reaching out to catch you when you fall, golden hour.
* wanted plots !
i’m the worst at coming up with things but,,,,, here’s a few
general friends: honestly some from childhood, some from high school, others from college, give me New friend with the people coming on scholarship, anything
best friends: someone that’s been by her side for years, someone she’d literally trust with her whole life
ride or dies: honestly what it says, maybe like two or three of them that have been through the thick and thin of it but still have a really strong friendship in the end?
confidant: honestly, probably someone she’s close with, but doesn’t see on a regular basis? maybe they just box together from time to time to blow off steam? it helps if they’re not someone she’d see all the time, that way she’s not constantly staring her admission in the face
bad influence: someone who can teach her to let go and get out more, care even less about what others think, especially her parents. even if that’s taking her to parties or drinking/smoking alone in a room
exes ( good, bad, anything in between ): you know the drill, hit me with the good angst. (male, female, nb)
roommate ( probably a cape coral student ): arden doesn’t like needing people but that doesn’t mean she wants to be alone, they probably have a pretty nice place together ngl. i picture it being really cozy and nicely decorated?
hook ups: you also know this drill, sometimes you gotta blow off steam. (male, female, nb)

Hey op, I was wondering if you could give me some advice? High school senior here and I have no idea what to do with my life. Is accounting really as painfully boring as it's reputed to be? I'm a perfectionist and a good student and I feel like that might be helpful, but I've also nearly fallen asleep many times in math class. (I'm more a science and humanities person.) Is accounting actually as tedious and unfulfilling as people say? Do you like your job? Do you have any career advice??
Oh, no, advice ...
I've been sitting on this because I wanted to do your ask justice, and then it ended up extremely long - I'm apparently constitutionally incapable of giving advice without giving all the advice, just to be thorough. I started with my impressions of the accounting field and why I went into it (in case any of that resonates with you either way) and made it all the way to a probably-too-abstract meditation/ramble on careers, work, and purpose. Since I'm just a dumb 27 year old who is not entirely successful (yet) in any area of my life, you should maybe (definitely) take everything below with a grain of salt. But here are some things I think I've learned:
I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life either. I went to an engineering high school, but decided it wasn't for me because I didn't really care about it and wasn't spending my spare time tinkering with robots like some of my classmates. I almost majored in physics, but switched to accounting at the last second because I decided I probably didn't want to spend my whole life in a basement fine-tuning lasers.
I went into accounting because I thought math was boring but I was good at it, and I figured accounting might straddle the math-type-brain with the people-stories-humanities things that were more interesting to me. This is somewhat true - financial accounting is not math (thank goodness), but someone who is good at one will probably be good at the other and it is quite satisfying the way balance sheets always balance. (You can get into more math-and-statistics-intensive applications, but base accounting is just adding and Microsoft Excel, which is unironically one of the greatest tools humankind has ever created. How you feel about that opinion might tell you a lot about whether it's the right field for you lol.)
'Accounting' is really (at least) three entirely different types of job:
‘Industry accounting’ is the accountants who work for a business and keep track of its numbers. They record everything, analyze the data, and organize it into reports called financial statements, which are then given to the CEO, the board of directors, the shareholders, etc. to tell them how the company is doing.
‘Public accounting’ (as in Certified Public Accountant) has two main subclasses:
Audit, where you get hired by businesses to independently examine their financial statements and provide some verification that the managers who prepared them aren't lying or mistaken.
Tax, where you do taxes for people and businesses.
(+1: If you're a tech-savvy person, there's a huge amount of potential for crossover into technology work - data science, financial software, etc, etc. Though IT work has its own delights and frustrations.)
All three flavors of accounting require not only technical accounting knowledge but also at least some degree of business acumen to be truly good at (you'll develop this over time; I barely have any, the partners at my firm are very astute), and any of them can can put you literally anywhere, because everyone in every industry and lots of individuals need an accountant. (There are cross-state licensing issues that can affect how literal 'anywhere' is, so if you want to work somewhere specific that's a good thing to research in advance when planning out your degree, but even these are for the most part eminently surmountable). So particularly on the public side of things, it's a field that can expose you to a lot of different people and situations, and that's interesting. I like getting a glimpse of someone's life when I prepare their tax return. (I think I prefer individual returns to business returns for this reason, among others.) And if you're someone who likes business, it is a fantastic field from which to study it and could position you well for a more generally-businessy position down the road. (I have frankly found that I ... do not, so much. So keep that in mind when considering the rest of this opinion piece.)
All three types of accounting are, by their very nature, repetitive, in the sense that they're cyclical - you do the journal entries and close the books on one month, or you do a hundred tax returns and get through tax season, and then you do it all over again. Accounting isn't a field that really makes or does things - it measures what other people are doing, over and over and over again. It's a keeping-the-lights-on-and-wheels-running kind of field. It matters, because all three of those functions above are important in the context of our current economic arrangement. But some people are going to be happy doing that and some people are not.
Public accounting also has pretty punishing work schedules during crunch times. I can attest to that for tax (my current field), and have heard it's at least partially true for audit. This can be a good thing in some ways (I happen to like it), because it means there are some relaxed times as well - but again, some people are going to like the up-and-down rhythm and some people are going to want something more steady. (If you find this one isn't for you, you can always leave public accounting after a year or two and go into industry - that's what many people's planned trajectories are from the get go.)
In all three corners it's a field about developing expertise. You're doing something complicated for people which they don't know how to do for themselves, and you do sometimes get to come up with crucial information and/or creative solutions to help them. And in the broad societal scopes of public policy and the health of the economy, people having that expertise - in tax and its ramifications, in business, in financial accounting, in principled and accurate auditing - is important.
In a world where most of us regrettably have to do something for money, accounting is a pretty okay thing to do, and it pays money.
Being in the workforce for a few years has made me come to imagine a lot of things are tedious in some ways and important and interesting in others. Our incredibly complex global civilization goes because different people become experts in the minute, tedious details of their own different things, and then they all work in their own corners of the huge, infinitely complex machine. Tinkering with robots and living in laser-filled-basements are not that dissimilar to reading discourse over the minutia of the United States tax code. (These are all examples from relatively technical/'professional' career areas, because I don't really have first-hand experience with anything else (yet) - but maybe someone will chime in on that front in the notes.)
The extremely good news, which I can't emphasize enough, is that you're going to have a lot of opportunities to pivot, or change direction, or try different things, to eventually find the thing that at worst you don't mind becoming something of an expert in, and at best you absolutely love. I've already had three extremely different jobs, all of which have been very informative in terms of what I Do and Do Not like. It's surprising how often that doesn't line up with what I expected when I was younger. You might of course have a different experience - the point is you have plenty of time to experiment and find out.
But if I don't LOVE my career, isn't that terrible? Time for a confession, or something: I've always been an achiever-type, and in my youthier youth I would've answered the above question 'yes' - but in my first few of years out of school, whenever anyone would ask me what my future plans were, my answer was always '... I don't know? Try to get promoted, I guess?' I was really leaning on the external validation of what a 'good career' was without running that past whether it was what I wanted to achieve with my life. And over time that had a noticeable effect on my wellbeing. You're right that perfectionism will help, no matter what you go into - but you should be careful to keep an eye on whether it's really mostly helping your boss, and whether it's doing it at your expense. Don't get me wrong, this will make you a fantastic and therefore valued (read: employed) employee. Just be wary of it getting out of hand. (You might find you need to practice figuring out how and when to prioritize yourself even if it's inconvenient for others. I'm still practicing that now.)
Anyway, after a lot of reflection, I began to refine my idea of my capital-P Purpose, and it has little to do with working in a shiny fancy office or having a successful-sounding job title next to a well-known employer's name or really anything to do with accounting. Those things were only superficially rewarding. I'm working on rearranging my life to abandon some of the more costly ones to make room for my Purpose as I've come to understand it, and my license keeps me in overpriced coffees and, like, a house. It means even an occasionally disastrous person like me is doing reasonably okay (so far).
Some people love careers like that, though. Some people love living in basements full of lasers. It's really so individual. For me, it became clearer when I connected the dots between the things I kept coming back to time and time again, even in my most difficult moments, even years or decades apart. For other people, it might be very different.
But at the moment, you may not have all the information you need yet to make determinations about Purpose. Why would you, you're a baby; heck, so am I. It might evolve over the whole course your life. My main advice for you would be to just try something, or several things - whatever seems most interesting, or most practical, or ideally both! - and see how it goes. Like I said above, that will give you experiences instead of guesses, which will help you know. And you really do have so much time to work with. The most important thing, the thing I would tell my younger self, is to make sure that every so often you pause and honestly look. How do I feel about what I'm doing? Does it feel good because I like it, or because other people like it? Am I actually interested in building on and using the things I'm learning? Do I have a plan for the future? Is there anything about it I want to change, or add, or that doesn't actually matter to me? (And perhaps "What would I be doing right now/want to be doing in five years if I didn't have to make money?", because that might give you hints to what you want your money-career - if it isn't the same thing as your Purpose - to give you room for.)
Did I mention I think it's very individual? I think it's very individual. I invite anyone to add their own numerous-cents to this post - alternate takes on the accounting field (do you love it passionately? please tell this person why), additional career or life advice, etc. I'm just one person who's walking my one narrow path through the world with its particular terrain. Everyone's is going to look different.
P.S. Ask a Manager is imo an indispensable resource for getting a job - resumes, cover letters, interviews. Literally it has gotten me all my jobs.
It also gives a lot of great advice about what to consider in an employer and potential red flags - and I can attest that the culture of the company you work for and the management skills and style of your supervisor(s) matter more than almost anything when it comes to your day-to-day happiness in a job. This is part personal fit, part objective competence. It's not the end of the world if you take a misstep here either - it's something you figure out, just like everything else. You can do almost anything for a year - and you are NOT COMPELLED to even stay that long if it's really not working out.
P.P.P.S - and this is way out there ... I was exceptionally good at both reading/English and math as a young person - and it’s interesting that when that’s true, the careers people throw at you are all STEM-related. It’s almost as if people are predisposed to thinking STEM fields are more important, and that smart people belong in them. I have come to feel strongly that isn’t the case.
A lot of people (at least in my western/US culture) feel the humanities are an afterthought, but when I think about it, I think there are and have always been two main sources of human suffering in the world: nature and its limitations (hunger, health and disease, weather and environment, etc.) and other humans (war, murder, racism/sexism/all oppression and hatred, conquering and imperialism, poverty/socioeconomic inequality, and also elements of the way societies are organized that affect hunger, and health and disease, and weather and the environment, and so on).
STEM work is hugely important to making improvements in the first category, and helps with the second (it gives us the internet and weapons to defend ourselves from evil people who want to destroy us, for example). But a lot of the fundamental root issues in that second category are in the sphere of culture and the humanities - law and politics, sure, but those are derived from history, sociology and psychology, literature, cultural studies, philosophy, ethics, education, journalism, literature and the arts and pop culture (which informs and is informed by all of the above). The world needs smart people in those fields as well as STEM and business.
STEM fields often offer more money, or more certain money. Business fields offer sometimes significantly more. That’s a practical element to consider. And if you like a STEM thing, or a business thing, and want to go into it, please do and do fabulous things with it. All I mean is that if you find yourself considering a career in a humanities field, don’t be dissuaded only because people seem to think you’re too smart for it and would be better off doing something else.

Lockdown Bath Bombs
Tumblr media
At the moment, the chances are that you can’t get hold of your favourite products from stores like Lush cosmetics - not to mention they cost a bomb (excuse the pun!) in the first place. That being the case, why not learn something new and enjoy making your own tailor-made at home? If you can get to the supermarket, the chances are you’ll be able to get most of these ingredients at home; if you can’t, don’t worry, you can order them online on either Amazon or eBay.
In order to make these truly cost-effective, you’ll need to buy the ingredients in bulk - but if you’re just doing this for a bit of fun, then there’s no harm in just scaling the recipe down and making whatever quantity you want.
I’d recommend reading this entire post first to give you an idea of what you’re doing, rather than starting and getting frustrated if you get lost on your way.
Before you begin, you’ll need some equipment on standby, including cup measures, tablespoon and teaspoon measures, a large bowl, a whisk, and a small bowl or jug. You’ll also need a spray bottle that creates a fine mist; ideally the spray bottle should be full of a 100% alcohol solution, but you can use water provided you don’t dampen the mix too much. You’ll also need some bath bomb moulds, which you can find cheap on eBay or Amazon. It’s up to you what size and shape you buy, and you can buy either clip-together moulds or press-together moulds (which is what I use).
Tumblr media
The moulds I use are stainless steel and make bombs that are roughly 2.6-inches in diameter. If you can find stainless steel moulds, I’d recommend them, as the clip-together plastic moulds can sometimes break when you pull them apart, and the cheaper tin moulds can dent a bit easily. Here’s a few suggestions that you might want to investigate, but it’s entirely up to you - buy whatever suits your budget or whatever you like the look of:
Stainless Steel Sphere Moulds
Metal Moulds (Mixed Shapes)
Plastic Sphere Moulds
If you’ve been successful, then you should end up with a lovely, fizzy bomb that does something like this when you drop it in the bath:
youtube
So, what is going in to these bath bombs? Well, if you search the internet, you’ll find that there’s dozens of different recipes for these bombs; everyone has their own mix of things they like to include, so this is just my recipe. It’s the one I have success with, but I am not going to claim mine is the definitive recipe - play about and see what works for you.
Based on my 2.6-inch moulds, this gets me roughly 8 bath bombs, although on this occasion I only moulded 6 bombs and kept the rest to use as bath fizz - more on this later!
Ingredient Tip #1: One suggestion I have in regard to making bath bombs is regarding the use of vegetable glycerine (or any glycerine) in the mix. Some recipes do suggest it, but don’t do it, it can ruin your bombs! This is because glycerine is a natural humectant - which is the technical term to describe something that retains or preserves moisture. That makes it brilliant for the skin - but not so good for bath bombs. The reason for this is because bath bombs contain sodium bicarbonate (or Baking Soda, in the common tongue) which, if you didn’t already know, reacts with water and creates the fizz of the bombs. So including an ingredient that will draw in moisture from the air is a bad idea as it can start the fizzing reaction early, either ruining the bomb altogether or making it so that when you go to use the bomb, the fizz is all but gone.
Ingredient Tip #2: If you can find them, use fine Epsom salts as these will mix in better with the other ingredients and larger grains can make the mix very crumbly and harder to mould. It should also be noted that larger grains of salt can draw in moisture in a similar fashion to glycerine.
Ingredient Tip #3: Make sure all your ingredients are either food or cosmetic grade.
Ingredient Tip #4: If using colourants, make sure they’re water soluble otherwise they can stain your bath and ruin your life! You might also want to wear gloves if you’re using liquid or gel colours so they don’t stain your hands; you should be okay if working with mica powders.
Ingredient Tip #5: You can use whatever carrier oils you like for your mix, they don’t have to be the same as mine.
Ingredient Tip #6: If you’re using liquid dyes, remember that they will lighten once mixed with the dry ingredients, so you might want to add a little extra if you want to end up with stronger coloured bombs.
Dry Ingredients
2 Cups Cornflour
1.5 Cups Baking Soda
1.5 Cups Citric Acid
Two-thirds of a cup Epsom salts
.5 Cup Cream of Tartar
Mica powder (if you’re using powder and not a liquid dye)
Note: If you want to make a bubble bath bomb, then you can ditch the Cream of Tartar and use SLSA instead.
Wet Ingredients
3 Tablespoons of Fractioned Coconut Oil
2 Tablespoons of Vitamin E Oil
2 Teaspoons of Witch Hazel
Colourant
Scent (make this as strong or as weak as you like)
Method
1. Add all of your dry ingredients to a large bowl and mix them together with a whisk, until you have a fine white powder that looks like snow - and there are no large clumps of any one ingredient present. I used a liquid dye to colour my bombs, so I did that in the next step - but if you’re using a mica powder, add that now until you have the depth of colour that you want. Remember that with mica powder, a little usually goes a long way! If you have a respiratory problem, such as asthma, then I would recommend wearing a face mask while mixing these ingredients - especially if using SLSA which is a very fine powder and can easily irritate your lungs. You might also want to consider safety glasses if you are concerned about your eyes.
You can guy mica powders on eBay or Amazon, or through a specialist soap making site like these ones over at The Soap Kitchen.
If you want to make bombs that are multicoloured, my suggestion would be to wait until after you have mixed the dry and wet ingredients together, then to split the mix equally by weight to make however many colours you want, and then to add the colour - whether it be a liquid or powder. You’ll just need to give it a very thorough mix to blend it in.
Tumblr media
2. In a bowl or jug, mix together the wet ingredients to the best of your ability. Obviously the Witch Hazel and oils will not mix as one is water based and the other isn’t - but that’s not to worry too much. Now is also the time to add in your liquid colours if doing so. On this occasion, I actually used a food gel colourant as I didn’t happen to have a soap dye in the colour I wanted, and the colour of food gels is very concentrated, so you generally don’t need to use a lot. Plus they can be cheaper to buy than some of the more expensive liquid dyes - not that any of the dyes are hugely expensive.
Tumblr media
You can find a wide range of different dyes from natural to synthetic. The ‘cheaper’ ones can be more inclined to stain your bath, but this generally doesn’t happen unless you use a lot of it.
Tumblr media
With some liquid dyes, you may need to dilute these in water first. If you have to do this, you might want to consider using the dye in place of the Witch Hazel and not as well as, as too much liquid can cause the reaction with the baking soda to begin and ruin your bombs - or make them a lot less fizzy!
Some dyes I found that you might want to check out:
Natural Dyes - The Soap Kitchen
Liquid Dyes - The Soap Kitchen
Zwanzer Dyes (20 Colour Assortment)
Now is also the time for you to add your scents. Again, there are loads of different brands that you can buy. I used the ones pictured below - because they come in some really ‘fun’ scents like Blueberry Muffin, Chocolate Orange and Pina Colada (which I used for this recipe) etc.
Pure Life (which I think may just be a rebrand of the ones pictured below) has all the traditional scents you would expect to find like lavender, rose, ylang ylang, sandalwood etc., but also has these funky fragrances too. You can buy their range here.
Tumblr media
3. Now the time has come to add your wet ingredients to your dry ingredients. My suggestion here would be to add this in thirds, and give the mix a very thorough stir with your whisk before adding more. This is to mitigate your chances that the Witch Hazel or other water-based ingredients you use will cause a reaction with the baking soda. The oil-based products will not cause a reaction.
Tumblr media
Once mixed together, you should end up with a snowy powder which is coloured and scented, but now also holds shape when you squeeze it - as if you were making a snowball.
Tumblr media
4. Now is the time for the fun bit: making the bombs. This can be a little tricky, as it is somewhat dependent on the conditions you are working in: for instance, if you’re in a particularly dry climate, you might need to use a little more moisture than if you’re in a humid climate. But the principle is essentially the same: using your spray bottle of pure alcohol (ideally) or water if not, give the mix a couple of very quick sprays just to dampen it slightly. You do not want to soak the mix, only make it mouldable!
Now work quickly to get the mix into the moulds - alcohol spray will evaporate quite quickly, which is what makes it preferable, as it will evaporate out of the bombs, leaving them dry, and not giving them a chance to start a reaction.
Using a spoon, or your palm, press the mix into the mould until it’s quite condensed. Before pushing or clipping the moulds together, remember to slightly overfill them so that the two halves fuse together and join.
Tumblr media
If you’re using clip-together moulds, then you can leave them in the mould to set overnight before gently opening the mould and tapping them out. If you’re using a push-together mould, using your finger or a spoon, very gently tap the mould to release the mix.
Tumblr media
Carefully set these bombs aside to dry out. Depending on the humidity level, this could take anywhere from an hour or two, to overnight. You can, of course, run straight up to the bath and use them there and then if the mood takes you!
Once dried, the bombs should last for a few weeks, but I’d recommend keeping them stored in a dry place, ideally in a sealed container, lest they fall victim to humid conditions. Now, you should have plenty to keep you going for a while - so go have a bath and relax.
Tumblr media
Troubleshooting:
My bombs are hissing and increasing in size and not drying out.
Unfortunately, too much moisture went in to these bombs and the reaction has started. Really all you can do is run yourself a bath and use them there and then - or discard them, and remember to mist the next bomb / batch with less alcohol or water solution.
My bombs are cracking or falling apart.
Okay, so this isn’t a complete disaster - it just means your bombs were too dry. If this is the case, remember to use a little more mist on the next bomb / batch or you can do what I do and ‘rebrand’ the product. The mix will still work perfectly well when added to the bath, so there’s no need to discard it! Get yourself an air-tight container (Mason jars work well) and spoon the mix into that. You no longer have bath bombs, you have bath fizz! And if anyone asks: that is absolutely what you intended to end up with in the first place! ;) Just shake some of this into the bath when you next have one, and you’ll get the same relaxing feeling, it just won’t involve a bomb fizzing round the bath!
Tumblr media
Someone also once asked me, what each ingredient in this recipe is there for. If you’re really that interested, then the gist is this:
Cornflour: it’s a bulking agent and also makes the water ‘fluffy’
Baking Soda & Citric Acid: this is what creates all the fizzy goodness
Cream of Tartar: Helps the bomb float so it doesn’t just sink and fizz away at the bottom
SLSA: This is the ingredient that creates the bubbles (if you’re making a bubble bomb)
Oils / Witch Hazel / Epsom salts: Soothes the skin
Colour: Makes it look pretty
Scent: Makes it smell nice
