If I had a nickel for every time a fictional apocalypse-thwarting angel went feral and consumed truly upsetting amounts of beef, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice

I need people to realize that binge eating disorders aren’t just ‘overeating’. this is a disability, this is a mental illness, it is a disorder, not a moral failing and people, esp fat people, with it are not pathetic or weak willed or gluttonous or disgusting. We’re people, and deserve to be treated as such.
Support your friends who binge. Don’t make assumptions. Do research and watch out for fatphobia and diet culture centered rhetoric. Respect us, regardless on how or why or when we do or do not recover. Show us love, because god knows very few people do

some tips on food fixation and binging urges
hellooo, ive been thinking about compiling some things that have helped me get my mind off of food and overall just writing down some rant -- so here it is!
keep in mind, im not an expert and this is mostly just me babbling. im writing this as a motivation for myself, and it will probably not work for everyone, but if you find any of this stuff helpful -- my pleasure! ★ mindfulness ★
`` first of all -- ive found that that strong-urge-to-binge thing is more of a state, not a feeling. it helps me to treat it as such: a mental state, a spiral, and to come out of that spiral you can:
◌ stop! ◌ breath in, breath out. ground yourself. have that thought of "wait, what am i doing?" in the space between you and the fridge ◌ check in with your body. what position are you in? does something hurt? are you cold? are you tired? overenergized? ◌ check in with your mind. is there any buzz? are you overwhelmed? ◌ if you located the issue (eg. im tired! i want comfort! so food = comfort!) -- great! move on from there to resolving this issue in a more mindful, not-involving-food way (then i should nap, do yoga, just lie on the floor, watch comfort movie) why are we doing that? in my opinon, its very important to train that "what am i doing" moment of conciousness, because through that you can see better why you want to binge. is it a mental thing? how can you cope without food? is it a physical feeling? an effect of restriction? how can you tweak your eating to make it better (imo, fasting does better job at managing binges than plain restriction) you cant just showe thinspo at your face everytime you crave something, after all : ) ★ activities ★ `` make something with your hands! ohh my god! i cant stress it enough, it can help you to not get fixated on thinking about food so much! it can be something easy like drawing, or you can look up something new for yourself `` go on a walk. i know, it can be very tiring to even think about, but t does wonders at distracting you `` yoga. very simple and very effective. or, alternatively `` do nothing at all for a bit. just. lie down, turn off your phone, no sound, no nothing (helps if your binging urge feels overwhelming) ★ other stuff ★
`` if you havent already, try drinking coffee. it really is called an appetite supressant for a reason `` i wasnt the one who told you that, but you can look up some gross stuff involving food.. f*eeding k*ink usually freaks me out on multiple levels for long enough to forget about food `` test yourself and allow yourself to feel bored. put down your phone. watch a really long flm. boredom is a part of our lives, and if you teach yourself to feel it in such small portions without binging youll be so so proud of yourself
tried to keep it all low-energy friendly : ) kind of nervous to post stuff like this -- if somethings not right, please dont come at me hahaha reblogs are very appreciated <33

Fasting Sweetspo Motivation
My lovely, you’ve been working and fighting so hard to get where you’re at. Are you hungry? That’s okay, I’ll tell you what to do. Get up slowly. Now as you walk feel how light you are without having eaten. You glide across the floor and leaving no sound or mark behind you. Make yourself your favourite tea. Focus on the progress: the water boiling, the tea brewing how water changes colours. Pick you cup up and glide across the house as the light being that you are. Have a sit, cover with a nice warm blanket, play your comfort show and drink that lovely tea. Feel the warmth slowly washing that hunger away. Remind yourself how far you’ve come in your fast. Lastly, what doesn’t challenge you won’t change you.

Upgrading time!
Tumblr media
(The GIF has no relevance, I thought it was cute).
Hey everyone! I have decided to make some changes to this account in order to bring in more traffic and more people into a non-toxic eating disorder community. I have been so happy with the interaction from the ed community. It is such an invisible disorder until it is not so I truly appreciate all of the invisible warriors (sorry if that sounds corny but it's true!) who support my content in any way. <3
Some changes I would like to emphasize:
There is now an anonymous "ask me" section. Feel free to ask about any recovery advice OR share some personal stories about a topic in the eating disorder community!
I will change the weekly polls to bi-weekly. The weeks in between will be a dedicated space for my followers/invisible warriors to share or ask questions about the ed-community.
Those are all of the changes for now. To keep full transparency I will blaze this post but it will be the last blazed post in a while. I want to reach out to as many people in the community who want to be a part of the good energy and vibes I intend to create on this blog.
<3

seeing as it’s christmas eve tomorrow, and that’s when festivities begin for a lot of people, a gentle reminder to those who
are neurodivergent
have anxiety
have depressive disorders
are battling addiction, especially alcoholism
are fighting an eating disorder
the holidays can be really hard. a reminder that you’re allowed to feel overwhelmed, you’re allowed to feel upset. you are allowed to not feel wonderful. holidays are stressful, especially when there’s a lot of people, a lot of noise, a lot of food, and usually a lot of alcohol.
please, for your own sake and that of your loved ones, do not put yourself in risky situations. do not force food upon yourself. do not put yourself around alcohol if that’s a risk for you. separate yourself from festivities if you need to.
i’d take a guess that your family want you safe more than they want you present. and if i’m wrong, they don’t deserve to have you around in the first place.
take care of yourself these holidays. dm me if you want a listening ear, even if i don’t know you, i’ll be here.
please support each other for the holidays.

tips i found to avoid binging
1. Tell yourself, “If I’m really hungry, I’ll eat something in 20 minutes.” And grab a glass of water in the meantime (you could be thirsty, not hungry). By setting a short delay, you give yourself time to figure out whether it's real hunger or just a food craving.
2. Is your brain focusing on eating just one very specific thing? That isn’t hunger, that is a craving. It’s normal to have cravings, but it’s best to ignore it. Ask yourself, “Would cold chicken/boiled broccoli satisfy me right now?” If yes, then it’s real hunger.
3. Is your stomach growling after you just ate a meal? Your stomach can growl while digesting! Try to eat slower. Drink more water between bites. Give yourself a bit of time to digest because a growl doesn’t always mean hunger.
Bonus: Are you dizzy/shaking? Eat some fruit! Your blood sugar could be low, and fruit is the good kind of sugar your body needs (and low cal).
Stay safe everyone.
