I think a lot about how Leo’s rescue could have easily ended in him losing a leg as the portal snaps shut on the Krang still clutching the limb, or, alternatively, only having Leo’s right arm make it out, still held dearly in his brother’s hand as the rest of Leo is left behind. (The latter hits even harder, as it directly parallels his future self in the worst of ways.)
I think a lot about how so many things could have gone wrong during the course of the movie with even a little bit of a change, but it really is harrowing how much of a coin-flip the entirety of the Prison Dimension rescue was.

New thing to think about dropped. I've been losing it for a week now.
So, Whisper of the Worm mission always had a portal, in the big room just before the first enemy encounter. You could always get to the portal and look into it and it would show you... Vault of Glass! Even back in the day, before VoG was in D2, you could see it. There's a corresponding portal inside of Vault of Glass from which, in D2, you could see the Whisper mission.
This area with the portal was also a part of the mission, as oracles would appear and had to be shot in the right order for the exotic ship. Original view of the portal from before vaulting, looking into the Vault of Glass:
View into Whisper from VoG when it was released in D2 in Splicer:
These two things were never in the game at the same time until Into the Light! With the return of Whisper, they're finally together so you can go into VoG and look into Whisper, and vice versa. Or at least.... you can... Once.
When I did Whisper the first time it returned, I naturally went to the portal to check. It was showing the same image as it did before; Vault of Glass. This was the situation in Into the Light, on first clear (screenshot from a friend because I only have footage of it, this is much clearer):
All is well! The portals link!
Except when I did the mission again... The portal image changed and remained changed. It's not showing Vault of Glass anymore. This is what it shows for every clear after:
Absolutely bizarre. Going through the trouble of changing the image is quite wild if done for no reason. You don't really have to go to that area! And you would have to go to that area on your first clear to even notice the difference, so you would have to know that it's there and what it looked like before.
So what is the Whisper portal showing now? Absolutely no clue. The area is still in some sort of a cave, and it's very purple/dark. There's lights that might be Vex lights. The big central light could also be radiolaria? It's super hard to tell. I don't think it's looking into another area in VoG and I've tried comparing it to some other places mainly from Io or Venus, but I couldn't find something that matches from what little we can see.
But the fact that they changed the portal image can't be random. There's no need to do that at all in the first place, unless it's supposed to serve some purpose. Maybe some hint? I wonder if it will change again with reset, or maybe become clearer. I doubt there will be a lot of alterations going forward, if any, but I'll be checking every week for sure.
Also, there's oracles to shoot every week (2 available this week), for the new exotic ship associated with the mission. The original, A Thousand Wings and the new one, Karve of the Worm, comparison:
The only difference is the Vex effects on the new one, and a new flavour text. To get the new one, you have to destroy a total of 7 oracles to get the ship. At least one of these will for sure be somewhere near the portal, because that's where the ship quest originally was, and it involved oracles. I wonder if something might happen with the portal when that triumph becomes finishable and the ship obtainable. Not hoping for something huge, but I feel like changing that portal image means something and we'll eventually find out what.

Prime Minister Kate Sharma and Downing Street Aide Anthony Bridgerton in ‘tis the damn season, write this down by Moomin_94 (newtonsheffield)
“This is Anthony, he’s your office aide.”
The man, Anthony apparently, smiled, offering his hand to her, “Lovely to meet you, Kate.” Everyone else seemed to realise his mistake before Kate did, and Anthony’s eyes widened in surprise, “Prime Minister! Oh God, Madam Prime Minister!”
“It’s fine.” Kate said, taking his hand and trying not to react to the jolt that shot through her as their hands met, “Truth be told I’m not quite used to it either.”
“Still I’m… so sorry.” He said quickly, “I… fuck, I bothered Sophie to get this job for months and now I’ve… And now I’ve sworn in front of you as well.”
“For god’s sake, Anthony.” Sophie hissed, “Stop swearing at the Prime Minister.”
“It’s fine.” Kate chuckled, “It’s honestly fine. Probably shouldn’t do it again though.”
“Right, yes, no.” Anthony said, his free hand twitching nervously towards his hair, “I promise, it won’t happen again.”
Anthony squeezed her hand once more, “Well, it was lovely to meet you, Prime Minister.”
Kate snatched her hand back as her stomach swooped uncomformably again and stepped back, “Right, yes. You as well… Anthony.”

Wyatt: I could’ve had a bath at home.
Brynn: Tch, is not the same.
Gael: I was beginning to think you weren’t coming back.
[Brynn rolled her eyes, gesturing over her shoulder]
Brynn: This is Wy-…
Wyatt: Kaito.
Brynn: [hums] Kaito, meet Gael.
Gael: Did you have fun mountaineering with my better half all day?
Brynn: [scoffs] Gael, please-.. this is my friend, not yours.
[Gael huffed, twiddling with the drawstrings on his trunks uncomfortably]
Gael: So, what do you do?
Wyatt: You already know.
Gael: I do?
Wyatt: I’m a waiter?
Gael: Oh, right-.. is that it?
Wyatt: That’s it.
After exchanging a few painful pleasantries, Wyatt zoned out. Gael had launched into a wearisome soliloquy about his career and various other achievements, none of which were particularly interesting or impressive. Brynn wasn’t listening either, her eyes glazing over as he wittered to himself. He’d address her occasionally, growing more and more desperate for attention each time his prompts to involve her fell flat.
Intent on dropping hints about how wealthy and important he was, Gael’s one-sided conversation should’ve been deliciously interesting to pick apart, but Wyatt was too tired and hungry to think straight. He briefly wondered who Gael was trying to impress; Brynn, Wyatt or himself? His gut told him it was the latter, though he wasn’t sure why-.. he needed a full stomach and a warm bed.
Wyatt: I’d love to stay and be chatted at, but I have better things to do.
[Brynn swallowed a snicker as Gael balked, halting mid-sentence]
Brynn: I see you soon.
Wyatt: I’m sure you will…
Gael: Well, that was rude.
Brynn: You are rude, and embarrassing.
Gael: Embarrassing?!
Brynn: Why you think a stranger in another country gives a shit about you and your boring work is beyond my brain.
[Gael sighed, trying not to feel too offended; Brynn was just tired…]

i think its bobs parents fault for his, johnny, and dally's deaths. not darry's, or pony's, or even bob
his parents never told him no or disciplined him, which was why he was drunk out of his mind that night (the park when he drowned pony). he wanted (needed) for someone to tell him no, set limits, etc. him being intoxicated directly led to his death, later johnny and dally would follow; if his parents told him no/disciplined him, he wouldn't have gotten drunk that night and could've prevented his and the other two deaths
reminder this is just my opinion, though. although i'm literally putting the blame on someone in this post, it's everyone's fault. everyone had a part in it

I keep starting and abandoning posts that go into my drafts, as I try to stay tasteful about how fucking revolted this part makes me. Like, I'm legitimately unsure if the very relevant trauma I have is making me see things that aren't here
But first we see that Star Flower is trying to ingratiate herself to the group, just after she reappears from chapter 5. Chapter 5 is about how Clear Sky is still abusive towards his son, and she comes in after stroking his ego, stressing how alone she is, and appealing to how she'll be loyal unlike his child. (She glances over at Thunder, directly implying this.)
Now in Chapter 9, she's babysitting and trying to care for Milkweed's kits (in spite of discomfort from Milkweed), taking a wet sleeping space away from the others, and pulling more than her own weight "without complaint." Putting herself through harsh sitations to prove her worth.
All while trying to appear extra attractive to Thunder, and later Clear Sky. Basically every man in power who can "protect her"
Like, am I going fucking crazy? With how we later find out that Star Flower was "promised as a mate" to One Eye's subordinate Slash, is... is that hypersexualization? One of the extremely stigmatized symptoms of sexual abuse?
She goes to find Clear Sky alone to throw herself at his paws, and he's very quickly attracted to how she promises to perfectly obey him, have no needs of her own, and finally be the perfect servant that he desires
"I don't deserve your trust because I am dirt. I understand you because I also regret something. I'd die for you. I'll never betray you unlike those who have."
This isn't manipulation. She means this. The story is playing their romance sincerely. She's comparing "betraying" Thunder by telling her own father about an assassination ambush to Clear Sky's history of child abuse, physical assault, and murder
She believes she's on the same level as this; a monster who murdered a childhood friend in a fit of entitled rage. She was a victim of One Eye who really believes that the way her father used her means she "understands" this monster, deserves this treatment.
And Clear Sky LIKES that.
He likes that she will have COMPLETE FAITH in him. That she will follow him WITHOUT QUESTION. That she will OBEY his orders. That's fucking verbatim, that's THE TEXT!!!
WHILE HE'S STILL CRYING ABOUT "ive tried to atone every day" FOLLOWING THE LAST TWO BOOKS WHERE THE ONLY SHITTY THING HE DOESN'T DO IS MURDER INNOCENT WOMEN
Am I insane?? Am I wrong??? Am I missing something here???? Why the fuck is the fandom takeaway "haha sexy girl steals his dad." Did I read the same book

I adore your lunara comic stuff! but I must ask if she's a drow or an elf because it greatly confuses me
also your art is actually incredible
she's a seldarine drow! i can't go too much into her lore yet because i have another ask regarding that BUT!! what i will say is that she's lived on the surface a good majority of her life and has grown accustomed to it!
ALSO THANK YOU!! that is so incredibly sweet of you to say. seriously made my day. im glad you enjoy my work <33
