#tim is cloud nine
Text
Jason had been acting strange lately, something everyone except him seemed to notice. It started with Jason bringing Tim a full home-cooked meal into his nest and insisting he needed to eat something decent and wouldn't let him get back to the case he was obsessing over until he did.
Dick got called "Big Wing" for the first time in a while and even got hugged and spun around. He nearly cried.
Bruce keeps getting called Dad. He also nearly cries. He actually does cry when Jason, half asleep, mutters a soft, "love you"
Cass took advantage of Jason's good mood to invite him to chat with her and Steph on a picnic where they both tried to figure out why he's so happy and buy time for Barbara to look through all the places Jason had been and make sure he didn't run foul of a rogue or something.
It didn't take her too long to find out all of this started soon after a party he was invited to via one of his former goons where Jason got drunk and left with an equally drunk guy.
Appearently Jason got laid but the guy disappeared soon after. Whats more mysterious is that this Daniel (Danny) Nightengale was a fake identity and they had no idea who- or what- he really was or what effect he was having on Jason.
Damian made the mistake of insulting this guy and it took Bruce, Dick, Tim and Cass working together to pull a pit raged Jason off of him.
Yeah.
They needed to find this guy.
Plot twist: Jason unknowingly fed on Dannys energy and accidentally got thralled

Dear, my thirst was quenched after weeks and months when I saw Matt and Jonathan together today. How handsome they looked, did they not? I am so eager to hear what you thought of their interactions, their glances at the other and the way they seemed so close😘
Dear Anonymous, thank you for your message.
I'm still high on cloud nine from last night, and I suspect I will never shut up about the event, or our boys/men/babygirls/babyboys/angels/what even are they?? I will never get over Fellow Travelers, Hawk, Tim, Matt, Jonathan or any of it, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I didn't dare to dream we would see them like this again - happy to be together, both with arms around each other, Jonny even holding Matt's hand. Ahhhhhhhh!! They look so good together. None of the doubt and torture of the past months matters now, because they were home together. I'm more convinced than ever that their bond is rare, undeniable, eternal and unbreakable, and they will be like this even after outliving Hawk and Skippy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for their looks, Matt's look wasn't my favourite ever (although it was amazing), and poor baby looked extremely sleep-deprived. But he looked genuinely happy, and that's all that matters. Jonny looked slutty as fuck in that sage green shirt + trousers and brown shoes + white socks outfit. His beauty was dazzling, and this was one of my favourite Jonny looks ever.
This video is everything! It's easily as good as the Maestro premiere videos. Seeing them this content and comfortable... I'm actually at a loss for words. If you look really closely, you can see that Jonny is stroking Matt's back again. I don't care what people say anymore, he is NOT like this with others. And Matt is so much more open than he's appeared to be recently. It's rare to see this kind of public display of affection from him - like when he smiles, gazes at Jonny and puts his arm even tighter around him. He also has this particular micro expression he does when Jonny looks at him, I've seen it before.
Then there's the sweet video of them walking away from the stage. I can't upload another video here so here's a gif of it
Tumblr media
I love how happy they look, and how Jonathan waits for a hug/touch from Matt, like he needs it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm so grateful that we got the Ron/Matt/Jonathan only combo yesterday. Ron is the one person who loves and misses Matt & Jonny even more than the fans do. He loves them so much that he started to cry when he talked about their zoom chemistry read.
And speaking of that, this is how Jonny and Matt looked at each other when Ron mentioned the chemistry read:
Tumblr media
The panel was incredible. I'm in awe of the three of them, and I wish I could thank them personally. They spoke so eloquently and passionately, and I think they gave an extremely good impression. Jonathan's dirty joke was the icing on the cake.
Favourite moments from the panel:
Jonny saying he feels it in his stomach, when he talks about watching the emotional clip they showed during the panel. He says there's a real emotion that has not left him, that is still present. How they've had six months to get on with their lives and try to say goodbye to the characters, but so many people are talking to him about FT, even crying, and it feels amazing to be back and celebrate it. "I know what pride means now." Oh Jonny!!
Ron talking about the chemistry between Matt and Jonny (that I already mentioned above)
I love and adore Matt beyond measure, so I'm allowed to say this. He has a tendency to go into professional/autopilot mode sometimes, and he does just this when the interviewer (who was great btw!) asks him about the sex scenes. He starts repeating things he's already said in dozens of interviews. But then Jonny starts talking, with much more candour, and it's glorious. And you can see, at least in some angles of the video, that Matt starts to blink and swallow a lot. It's like Jonny unlocks him, like he always does...
Jonny's joke: "Obviously you'd want a scene partner like Matt, because he never put a foot wrong..." Nobody makes Matt laugh like Jonny does. I wish their chairs had been just a little closer, because Jonny really tried to put his head on Matt's shoulder.
youtube
Yeah. Yesterday will stay with me for a very long time.

trick or treat!!!
Daaaw thank you!! Enjoy a snippet from my Halloween one shot <3
Danny huffed out a laugh as he looked down at his skipping four year old. Violet was dressed as Discowing for Halloween. Something everyone in the Wayne family pouted about aside from Dick. Tim had simply grimaced when he saw their daughter come out dressed in the tacky costume but said nothing else.
Initially Danny had been confused when each of his brother in laws (and father in law) had given him halloween costumes for the four year old to wear. Tim just took each one with a sigh and the couple presented them to their daughter to see if she actually wanted to be a vigilante for halloween. And as soon as her eyes laid on the discowing costume she was in love.
So there she was, her dark black hair slicked back into a strange little mullet, her bright blue, sequined costume glistening under the street lights of upper Gotham looking like she was floating on cloud nine.

Bruce Wayne x child! male reader
Summary: Bruce didn't think that hosting a gala would attract the criminals to crash his gala. Especially since it was a charity gala for a kids hospital. And he really didn't think that his youngest son would be taken.
Warnings: Child kidnapping, guns, violence, blood, the usual Batman violence, some random criminals kidnapping the youngest Wayne.
Tumblr media
Bruce was a bit nervous. I know, not a word you would hear in the same sentence, but he was nervous for a good reason. He was going to host a gala in the manor and it would be the first gala of his youngest son, (Y/N). The boy is still a toddler and Bruce was worried about him being overwhelmed. Bruce knew that (Y/N) wasn't a fan of strangers. He knew that from the moment (Y/N) came to the manor.
He still remembers the day he came. The boy was around 3 at the time and his mother wanted nothing to do with him. She was one of Bruce's one night stands. At first he was a bit suspicious, but a DNA test was the only conformation he needed. He took the boy in the next day and it was...
Well, it wasn't easy. The boy was closed off and very tense most of the time, so Bruce and Alfred took it upon themselves to make the boy comfortable. Boys got included as well. Dick was playing with him, Tim liked reading to him before bed and Jason would draw with him. Now Damian, he was the most difficult one. He didn't want anything to do with him at first, but over time warmed up to him. (Y/N) had a protection squad consisting of Bruce and his brothers.
Bruce fixed his cufflinks and went to find his youngest. Bruce found him in Damian's room. He was sitting on the bed as Damian was tying his tie. (Y/N) was really excited and was talking while Damian was now fixing his own tie. Bruce couldn't help but smile. He knocked on the door and (Y/N) gasped.
" Papa! " (Y/N) jumped of the bed right into Bruce's arms. Bruce chuckled and picked him up. (Y/N) laughed loudly and hugged Bruce. Bruce hugged him back with his free arm.
" Are you excited? "
" Yes Papa! Damian said it's a lot of fun! "
Bruce mouthed a thank you to Damian before leaving the room. None of the boys are the fan of the galas, but they came to an agreement. For (Y/N), they would speak only good of these galas. They had hoped that (Y/N) would realize that these events are boring. They could only hope.
" Come on boys! "
Bruce smirked at the groans of displeasure.
(Y/N) was on cloud nine. He was having a lot of fun. Bruce made sure that he was always with some of them. Right now, Bruce was carrying him and talking to someone. Bruce looked at the clock. It was getting late for (Y/N) and Bruce was going to put him to bed soon. Bruce knew that he was getting tired despite his excitement. He finished the conversation and he looked for Alfred.
" Is it time for his bedtime master Bruce? "
" Papa no! I want to stay longer. "
"The deal was 20 minutes, no? "
(Y/N) pouted and Bruce gave him a kiss to the cheek.
" But papa... " He tried again, rubbing his eyes.
" You know yourself you are tired. "
" But pa- "
A gunshot rang out and (Y/N) was startled. Bruce was calm and turned him away from the intruders who were knocking out the security guards. (Y/N) was softly crying in Bruce's shoulder from the fear. Bruce was gently whispering into his ear to calm him down, while looking for his sons. They were all unharmed for now, but he wasn't so worried about them right now. He knew they could handle themselves, they had the training to back that up, but Bruce was worried about his youngest. He was patting his back gently.
" Why hello mister Wayne, just the man we were looking for. "
" What do you want? Money? "
" Not your first rodeo it seems. Is this the famous (Y/N)? "
Bruce tried to move away, but the clicks of guns stopped him. His son was the only thing in his mind and his heart broke when the leader took his son out of his arms. (Y/N) wasn't happy with the change.
" Papa! "
" It's okay bud. It's okay. "
Bruce could sense (Y/N)'s distress from a mile away. He was now distressed as well and he could only the imagine the stress levels on his other sons. The leader didn't seem like he was going to hurt him, but Bruce knew better. Being Batman, he saw a lot of things, none that were good.
" Now, me and this little guy are going to go. 20 million, we will tell you when and where. "
" Papa! "
Bruce's heart shattered from the fear and desperation. He smiled softly at his son in order to calm him down.
" It's going to be okay bud, I am going to get you, alright. "
" Papa! "
" Oh don't worry bud, your father simply has to listen to us and you will get back to your papa. "
" Papa... "
Bruce nearly fell to his knees from the weak tone.
" It's going to be okay bud. "
Bruce could only watch helplessly as they took his son away. He clenched his fists and took a deep breath. He couldn't go as Batman, but... There was a certain someone in Metropolis who could find his son in the matter of seconds. Someone called Superman. People were already on the phone with the police calling terrified and scared, but Bruce called Clark Kent. Apparently, Clark knew and was getting ready.
Bruce got off the phone as the police came. His only hope was that Clark could find (Y/N).
(Y/N) was softly crying in the dark room. He curled up and cried softly. He missed his dad and big brothers. He never liked the dark, that's why he had a night light, but the best remedy was sleeping with his brothers or father.
" Papa... " He weakly called into the darkness.
He raised his head when he heard gunshots. He whimpered and tried to curl into himself more. Superman opened the door and nearly cried when he saw his poor nephew.
" Hey bud... It's okay... "
Superman kneeled down as (Y/N) looked up. His eyes lit up and he ran into Superman's arms.
" It's okay, we are going to see your dad, alright? "
Superman gently picked up the boy and waited for Bruce to arrive. He already called the police to let them know where they were. It would be weird if he simply gave him over to Bruce without some formalities. He tilted his head to the right when he heard the sirens coming. He gently rocked him, humming something, trying to calm down his nephew.
Bruce was going to lose his mind. Nobody heard anything and he wanted nothing more than go out as Batman. Nothing more, but he couldn't.
" We have a location! "
That's when they all jumped into Bruce's car. Jason was going to go with his motorbike. Bruce probably broke 50 different laws and probably got 50 more speeding tickets. He parked near the ambulance and ran out. He was relieved once he saw his son in Superman's arms.
He ran to Superman ignoring the calls of his name.
" Papa! "
Bruce immediately took him into his arms.
" Yes, papa is here. I am here. It's okay. "
The boys made a protective circle and (Y/N) was passed around the boys. They all held him tightly.
" You are never going to go through this ever again. I promise you that son. I promise. "
And Bruce meant it. Bruce was going to make sure he was from now on. The boys also vowed to keep their youngest brother safe. But Bruce was going to make sure that stays true. He was going to make sure his son is protected, as both Batman and as Bruce Wayne. He was going to make sure of that.

THIS KISS
pairing: Steve Harrington/Female Reader
warning/extra tags: cursing, angst tm, understandable trust issues, my oc timothy taylor from just friends makes a comeback aslasjlaja, cheating but not actual cheating, break-up, beta read by the bestie, edited by me
note: first fic of the new year! happy 2023 everyone! i was inspired by a scene in that 70s show during my 1000th rewatch. Anyways, peep the short (well shorter than usual) imagine format I’m trying :) Thank you for reading and enjoy ♥️
✦ ✦ ✦
It was one kiss. One measly kiss that you didn't even really return when it happened. And yet, Steve kept bringing it up whenever he could. You understood why he reacted this way, considering his past relationship's ending was somewhat similar. He was very clearly masking his hurt with a failed attempt at humor of the situation, but it didn’t make his words hurt any less.
Because of this, you let his comments slide. You didn't say anything when he would say 'oh where you'd learn that? Timmy T?' after you tried something new with your tongue when you kissed. Or the time he had joked lamely and said ‘you’re not going to kiss him again, right?’ when he found out you were on a late shift with Tim at your job (because of course the guy was still your co-worker).
In your defense, you and Steve were not together when it happened, as in when Timothy Taylor kissed you. In fact, the words break and up were apart of Steve’s vocabulary of your conversation before it happened, words straight out of his own mouth. You would have never let Tim kiss you when he asked had you and Steve still been together. So, the short kiss came from a broken heart more than anything else. And also, it had been quite sometime since that kiss, since your first break-up as well, and you didn’t know how much more comments you could handle.
It felt a little silly when you couldn’t bring yourself to confront him when he said those stupid things, you'd roll your eyes to show your irritation, but you never actually said anything to him. Eventually though, it could no longer be avoided.
Steve and you were in your bedroom, his body halfway on top of yours, one leg slotted between your thighs. You hardly got time like this together anymore, with both of you working long hours. You were on cloud nine, having missed Steve and his kisses. You could stay underneath him forever if you could, just him holding you or you holding him. It was your personal heaven, one might say…until he pulled away from your lips with a torn expression on his features.
“God- I’m sorry…but it’s like every time I kiss you all I think about is how your tongue was down Taylor’s throat,” he had said, crawling off of you and settling on the edge of his bed with a sigh.
You were still disoriented, barely registering what he had just said and you were leaning upwards on your elbows, eyebrows furrowing as you asked him to repeat himself.
He sighed again, bringing his hand upward to push his brown strands of hair out of his face before he turned his head to rest his eyes on you, “Your stupid kiss with Taylor- I don’t know if you noticed but I just can’t get over it.”
You gave him a look because you doubted he hadn't noticed that you've noticed- as he hadn’t exactly been hiding it, but ignoring that you sat up, fixing your skirt as you did so and replied, “I already told you I was sorry, Steve, and it didn't mean anything.”
You were frowning at him, and he started to frown deeper too, making your heart clench in your chest that this was bothering him so much and understanding why, but still feeling like he was taking it too far.
“Yeah, I remember…it’s just- I can’t get past it okay? I think about it all the time, and you working with him still- I mean the nerve of him-“ Steve started to ramble, and you pressed your lips together, moving to actually sit next to him.
“He’s nobody to me,” you tried to tell him.
You felt the sarcastic remark coming before he even said it.
“Oh he was totally nobody to you when you and him frenched in front of theater 3,” he said, then laughed bitterly. Your jaw tightened at this, and you were moving to stand. He lifted his head to look at you.
“Would you stop saying stupid shit like that?” You demanded, “I told you I was sorry- but I honestly don’t see why I have to be. You broke up with me…we weren’t together for two weeks or did you just forget that part?”
His eyes widened slightly, and he started to say, “Hey! I didn’t want to break up with you, though! I told you…”
You huffed, “But you still did- you know what Steve, I’m sick of you shaming me, news flash I already feel guilty enough even though I shouldn’t have to!”
He dropped his head at your words as if in defeat, an exasperated breath releasing from his lips. You crossed your arms, feeling your eyes well up at the next thing you knew you had to say because you felt like you were at a breaking point.
“I think we should break up…again,”you stated, voice as steady as possible. That made him look up at you, eyebrows furrowing and brown eyes finding your serious ones. He opened his mouth to speak, to probably protest as his eyes became frantic, but you were shaking your head, "You should go, Steve."
"Wait- wait," Steve tried, head following yours as you walked toward your door, pulling it open to indicate further that you request was more like a demand. He stood up, walking toward you and said, "Can we at least talk about this more? Breaking up- I don't..."
He was in a loss of words, clearly not expecting the conversation to end this way. You tightened your jaw, moreso to fight the tears that threatened to well up in your eyes, not wanting Steve to see them. He seemed to have your same reaction, except he wasn't trying to mask it like you. His eyes were growing slightly watery as he met your pointed expression. Then, he dropped his head, causing some strands of his hair falling forward, and he sucked in a tight breath before stepping past you into your hallway.
You followed after him, sticking by the entrance to the hallway as you watched him pick up his things and leave. He did spare you another glance, heartbreak written all over his features that threatened to make you march over and hold him. You didn't do it though, holding your ground and needing him to understand how serious this was. Then, he turned and he left without another word.
He didn't even bother to put on his shoes that he kicked off by your front door, he'd just grabbed them and left the house with a soft slam of your front door.
That was when you started to cry. It wasn't intense, it wasn't angry, it was just sad. Tears just slipped down your cheeks as you went back into your room, and sat on your bed with your head in your hands.
✦ ✦ ✦
You missed Steve. Terribly. And if you were missing him, then he was missing you too.
It had only been a few days, close to a week since you brought your relationship to an end. And it hurt. You had felt a sort of numbness, seeing as most of the things in your home had reminded you of him. Some of his shirts were still there, sitting in a drawer in your bedroom (And he had some of yours too), photographs you've taken together, gifts, and your favorite...notes he had given you still pinned up on your mirror like you were still a high schooler in love.
It wasn't like your prior break-up, which was insanely messier and made you more angry than the melancholic feeling that was there to stay heavy in your chest.
The truth was, you desperately loved Steve, and everything about him. You didn't want it to end like this, you didn't want it to all come to an end because of something like this. You and him...you had been through too much to let this situation that could be fixed ruin your relationship. You wanted him back, badly, but you weren't entirely sure on how to tell him that, feeling stupid crawling back to him after you were the one who broke it off.
Then again, he had come back to you. You decided, after another day of post break-up depression that you weren't going to let him go, or at least not let it end this way that left a bad taste in your mouth and your stomach in knots. You had to at least try and hope Steve wants to too.
Steve hadn't expected to see you coming into the Family Video Store. He himself had been in shambles, still in quite disbelief that you ended it with him. He had hardly been getting sleep, everyone around him had pointed out, especially Robin whom he told about what happened the very next day.
She was also in shock to hear it, but after Steve had told her why, Robin seemed to understand completely why you had...and Steve did too. He'd been beating himself over it for days now, like he knew the things he was saying were stupid and mean, and unfair because you were broken up when it happened, but it's like something takes over him whenever it catches the opportunity to remind you of it. He hated it. He hated it when he said them, he hated it when you would frown at him and become visibly hurt. And yet, he couldn't help it.
Very clearly his behavior from coming from a broken heart, perhaps one that hadn't quite healed since his relationship with Nancy.
Not that he still loved her, no, that was long gone...long over, but the aftermath still affected him in a way he didn't expect it to. In a way that didn't show itself until recently when he saw you and Timothy Taylor kissing in that theater when he wanted to talk you about your relationship, which was stupidly stopping him from seeking you out right now...afraid he'd see that again. He hated his brain sometimes.
So, it was a surprise, a relief even, when he heard the door open and lifted his head to see it was you. He stopped stacking videos almost instantly.
You looked breathless, and tired too, but more importantly, you looked determined, especially when your eyes found his. His heart practically swelled up in his chest as you approached him with urgency in your step.
"Steve-"
He said your name at the same time you said his, the tone of both your voices breathless and colliding with one another. You just stared at each other afterwards, as if unsure who should speak first. Steve did, just as you opened your mouth again to speak.
"I miss you," he said, then shut his mouth quickly, embarrassed because what if you'd just come to tell him to pick his stuff from your house? And to ask for your stuff back as well? He just blurted it out, and swallowed thickly, feeling his cheeks heat up and turn red.
But then, you had said you missed him too.
And as Steve stood there, still processing that you had told him it back, you were walking around the center counter of the video store and joining him behind it. When you were close enough, you said, "I don't want to be broken up, okay? I know I broke it off, and I probably sound stupid-"
"No!" Steve quickly said, shaking his head, "No, no you don't sound stupid."
He wanted to tell you so many things, wanted to bare his soul to you in the way he should've instead of making those stupid, snide comments whenever given the chance. He wanted to tell you how he actually felt about the kiss and why he felt that way, because then you could talk and properly get passed it. Like what you had thought, you and him had been through so much, like surviving three separate attacks from interdimensional creatures who wanted you for their next meal, to let something like this destroy your relationship.
Before he could get the chance to, not caring that you were in the middle of the video store where a group of girls just waltz in making it almost full, not caring that they would hear him confide in you this like he wanted to, like he should've the day you ended things with him, you were speaking.
“I have an idea, okay? If we can't get past this... just kiss some other girl, I won’t be mad I swear,” you said, making Steve's brows furrow with confusion, “We’re broken up right now, everyone knows it so I can’t be mad. So just…kiss any girl you want.”
You were gesturing around the store and all Steve could do was stare at you. You wanted him to kiss another girl? He was not expecting that to come out of your mouth, not at all, and he was genuinely taken back by this.
“Are you…are you serious?” Steve asked more out of shock than excitement, which your saddened expression made him think you mistook it for excitement to kiss somebody else.
You nodded sadly before you sucked in a breath, and said in a bleak tone, as if wanting to sound unbothered, “Any girl okay? In this store, in this town. Anyone.”
He blinked, still in disbelief that you’d just said that and he absentmindedly did look around the video store, eyes finding the group of girls that were around both of your ages that had just entered the video store. Two of them had looked over at him, flashing him flirtatious smiles as they must've heard you.
He pressed his lips together, and looked back at you. You weren’t looking at him anymore, your gaze set at the girls as well after following his quick glance. You were very clearly bothered as you more than likely wondered which one he had chosen in the span of the 3 seconds he'd been looking at them.
Steve shook his head before he was reaching forward, gently grasping your chin and making you turn your head to him. Before you could react, before you could even really make eye contact with him, Steve was leaning in and pressing his lips against yours.
He felt you go still against his lips as he kissed you softly, fingers still holding your chin upward. After a few seconds, Steve was leaning away and said with a smile on lips in the softest his voice had ever been, "I choose you."
You were visibly taken back by this, looking up at him as your eyes began to shine.
In fact, your heart was actually fluttering in your chest, body once overcome with melancholy turned into nothing but pure warmth for Steve. You hadn't expected it to to this way, you’re mind overcome with heartbreak convincing you this would be the only way to rekindle your relationship.
That didn't matter anymore though, because Steve had chose to kiss you and you wanted to melt on the spot. It felt very similar to how it felt when your friend Steve had kissed you for the first time and you became something more. His brown stare just as intense underneath his thick lashes, but there was something stronger underlying them. You don’t know why you expected him to kiss another girl because despite everything, you were always aware that Steve desperately loved you too...as if you ever should've doubted it.
It was a nice reminder too that Steve Harrington still had his overtly romantic charm to him, and it was all you found yourself commenting about with a blissful smile growing on your lips.
"That...that was so romantic," you said, voice still breathless but this time because he had taken your breath away. Steve chuckled softly, eyes flickering downward to look at the smile on yours lip, having missed seeing it these past days since your break-up.
"I mean it," he told you, moving his hand to gently cup your cheek, his eyes growing serious, "I choose you."
And you knew, even if he hadn't of kissed you, that he meant it. You nodded, and told him that you would always choose him too.
Then, it was you who was kissing him, pressing your lips tenderly against his the way you always did, but there was a sort of desperateness behind it fueled by being apart. Steve kissed you back with just as much intensity, like you were in private and not in the middle of his job. This time you did melt into his lips and arms.
The two girls Steve had initially glanced at turned away with frown on their lips, a handful gave a double take as if they were aghast by such a sight, and a man holding some tapes had rolled his eyes and knocked on the counter impatiently.
Steve opened one eye, lips still connected to yours, and he leaned away as he told him he was on break. You laughed, and pulled his lips back to yours with little care of the audience. The man left after that, tossing the tapes aside and you were quite sure that Steve was probably going to get a stern talking to by Keith about PDA in the workplace.
And you two would talk as well, Steve would tell you what he wanted to before, and you would listen and talk through it with him. Because that's what people in love should do when things get hard, especially if they don't want to let the other go.

HEY!! I’m just wondering if you could do a fic where Tim tells his sister he’s going to be a dad, Genny tells him how proud she is of him, Tim tells her his worry’s about being like their dad and they talk about their past..
[just a Bradford sibling scene]
I hope you enjoy!
HEY!! I’m just wondering if you could do a fic where Tim tells his sister he’s going to be a dad, Genny tells him how proud she is of him, Tim tells her his worry’s about being like their dad and they talk about their past.
Oh sister, (brother)I will help you out Oh, if the sky comes falling down For you
“Hey.” Says Tim sitting at the table across from Genny. He crosses his legs underneath the table and the uncrosses them. He’s not sure why he’s so nervous, this is his sister. Genny raises her eyebrows at him clearly sensing his nervousness.
“What’s up? Why did you want to meet?” She asks and there’s a pause. “Is Lucy okay?” Tim’s lip twitches a little bit at his wife’s name. Lucy is absolutely fine, Lucy is pregnant with their first child and though it was a bit of a surprise especially since she had to pull from an UC OP, it was absolutely amazing news.
He was going to be a dad. Lucy was going to be a mom. They were going to be parents.
And now he was going to tell Genny she was going to be an aunt. He knows she will be thrilled and will love this little baby so much.
“Lucy’s fine. Great actually. We planned to tell you this together but she has to work and—” Tim trails off and Genny’s eyes widen a little.
“What?”
“Lucy’s pregnant. We are having a baby.” He says. Genny’s face immediately breaks out into a smile.
“Oh my gosh Tim!” Genny says and she jumps up from the table to hug him. Tim feels himself relax a little. “That’s wonderful news.” His sister is beaming and he can’t help but smile too.
“Yeah.” He says softly as she sits back down. “It is wonderful.” Genny smiles at him and reaches out to squeeze his hand.
“What’s wrong?” She asks. He blows out a breath and looks up at the clear blue sky. He’s excited and he has been on cloud nine since he found out but the was this seed of doubt pushing through
It was a little voice inside his head that sounded a lot like his father’s. Berating him. Telling him he will never be good enough. Tormenting him. You are just like me son.
“What if I’m like dad?” He asks. Genny reels back a little bit, their father was a sore subject with them. They never really talked about him, he was not Tim’s favorite subject and Genny understood that.
“Tim. You are nothing like our father.” She says fiercely. “You have come so far. You have grown so much and been through so much. And somehow you come out stronger every single time.”
Tim stares at her, the words rolling over in his mind but the seed of doubt still there and growing. It’s tight in his chest and he knows he should talk to Lucy about this too.
“What if I’m someone who shouldn’t have kids?” He asks Genny. “Just like dad? Lucy is going to be a great mom. She already is. She just has this instinct about her but—”
“And you will make a wonderful father Tim.” Genny says. “You have already proven time and time again you are not dad. You never will be. You are such a good man. You found the woman you love, a job you love. Friends and family. Dad never had any of that. He was miserable and you are already proving that you are 100 times the man he ever was. Just by talking it out.”
Tim nods and Genny squeezes his hand again. “I’m so proud of you Tim. You made it through with Isabel and dad. I know it wasn’t easy but you did it.”
“Lucy pulled me out of my spiral.” He says. “I had this darkness and she just made it better.”
Genny smiles. “Lucy is pretty great.” She says and Tim smiles in agreement. “But you are pretty great too Tim.”
There’s a long silence and it’s only broken by Tim tapping on the table nervously. “Do you think we would be where we are today if it wasn’t for dad?” He asks. Genny sighs and leans back pushing some hair behind her ear.
“I don’t know Tim. I didn’t—you protected me.” She says. Tim nods running his hand through his hair. He did protect Genny from their father, he always got the brunt of it. And he would do it again. He never wanted his little sister to be as scarred as he was, traumatized even though she probably was in her own way.
“If I didn’t have all these scars. This trauma of dad..” Tim says and he wonders where he would be. He joined the military, became a cop, got married to Isabel. Divorced Isabel and met the love his life in the middle of all that. He wonders if his father hadn’t been a abusive bastard if he would even be a cop.
“I hate that you went through that Tim.” Genny says. “I’m so grateful you were there to protect me but I hate that you went through it.”
This time Tim squeezes her hands. “I would do it for you Gen. you are my sister after all. It was my job.”
Genny smiles sadly. “You were just a kid Tim.” She says. Tim nods and maybe he wishes things went differently but it wouldn’t change anything. And he would still protect Genny.
He will protect Lucy and their child, he will protect everyone he loves. And he’s going to do his best not to be his father. He can’t be because he already loves this baby more than anything.
“I’m excited for you Tim.” Genny says breaking the silence again.
“You are going to be a great aunt.” He says. “Just don’t spoil my kid too much.”
“Oh like you don’t spoil my kids?” She snaps back. “And I can’t wait to be an aunt. This baby will know nothing but love.”
Tim smiles and nods. That’s his goal, to show this baby and his future children exactly what a family is suppose to be. Love. Unconditional support.
Tim’s phone rings and he smiles when he sees who it is. Lucy. He answers and puts it on speaker phone.
“Hey Luce.” He says. “Genny’s here with me.” Genny looks down at the phone.
“Hey Lucy congratulations. You guys are going to be great parents.” She says and Tim can hear Lucy shuffling around.
“Thanks Genny. You are going to be a great aunt.” Lucy says. Tim smiles at the look on Genny’s face and he knows she’s excited. Just like he is.
He’s going to be a dad.
He has known that for awhile but it’s finally setting in. He’s going to be a dad like he has always wanted with the woman he loves more than life itself.
“Hey Tim. I got to go but I will see you when you get home.” Lucy’s voice pulls him out of his thoughts.
“Okay bye Luce. Love you.” He says and they hang up.
Genny smiles at him. “You know I’m just gonna use this baby to talk smack about you right?” She asks in amusement. Tim groans. Angela said the same thing. But really he wouldn’t have it any other way.
He had a wife and growing family and family and friends who loved him and would do anything for him.
Genny was right, their father never had that. And he was so grateful that he did have it. That he could be the feather he always wanted in his life.
He couldn’t wait to shower this baby with more love than he ever got. He couldn’t wait to be a dad.
He couldn’t wait for Lucy to be a mom and Genny to be an aunt. For his nephews to be cousins.
And he knows this is just the beginning.

(Not my gif)(Requested by anonymous)
- Something tells me that Tim was a late bloomer both sexually and aesthetically. I don’t know how else to say it but I think you know what I mean: he was a dorky and slightly gangly looking teenager who only really got “hot” towards the end of high school; which directly coincided with his lack of sexual experience.
- Nevertheless, by the time you’d met him, he’d already made up for this late start with a bunch of odd and experienced/experimental girlfriends so in the grand scheme of things, he’s got a low “body count” and a surprisingly in depth knowledge of the world of kinks: which means you’ve kind of won the lottery.
- The only thing that’s a downside of being in the bedroom with him is his occasional attempts at abstinence or similar paths to enlightenment. But even that isn’t really a problem. He’s pretty prone to accepting loopholes when it comes to sex because he feels bad about “not providing for you” and because; technically, he’s not receiving pleasure by going down on you; which is a complete and total lie but okay.
- You don’t even give him much grief: you probably just sigh and look slightly disappointed and he caves like you just spent an hour begging him to take you to bed. Which he subsequently does and boy is it nice.
- But, since we’re on the topic of oral, let’s talk about blowjobs. He’s a fan of them like most other men but he’s more likely to turn them down in favor of going down on you because of the whole “depriving himself of pleasure” thing.
- That being said: when he isn’t trying to torture himself, he’s a nasty little fiend and that’s sort of just a fact. To him, there’s nothing better than some good old fashioned lewdness and depraved debauchery; sloppiness lovingly included.
- Sometimes, he’ll be too riled up and desperate to spend a lot of time on foreplay but more often than not, he’ll enjoy it quite a bit and consider it a very necessary part of sex; even just for himself. Just know that on occasion, he won’t be able to stop himself from ravaging you in a school bathroom because he spread himself too thin on his path to enlightenment.
- Tim is flexible when it comes to his role in the bedroom. He tends to be a soft dom but he’s also a bit of a masochistic submissive so as long as you’re not expecting him to be a hardcore bdsm brat tamer, you’ll wind up with your perfect sexual partner.
- Everchanging speeds and varying levels of roughness. Tim doesn’t have a preferred or tried and true method of thrusting into you so you pretty much just play roulette whenever you go into the bedroom with him.
- Experimentation. He’s the type of person who’s willing to try just about anything once but he does find it difficult to hurt you; even if you outright ask him to: which is kind of funny considering how much he enjoys a little pain with his pleasure.
- Prone bone, missionary, against a wall, in the shower, doggystyle, etc: he’s happy to try any position you can think of; sometimes multiple in a single night.
- He can and will just pick you up and rearrange your guts without breaking a sweat and it never fails to both surprise and impress you. You’ll be making out against a wall or one of you will be on your knees and surprise! He’s got you off your feet in a matter of seconds: making you feel like you’re on cloud nine and entirely weightless.
- After one of his bouts of celibacy, the two of you christened every room in your apartment and a majority of the flat surfaces in his hockey teams locker room and you still feel kind of flustered every time he brings you into the room because of how many memories you get while standing there.
- Speaking of: he is absolutely none the wiser to how often you fantasize about him. He’s ridiculously attractive and makes everything look good and you can’t help but remember all of the ways he makes you feel good; even when he’s just acting adorably sweet. He’ll come to sit with you after hockey practice, panting and sweating and just gushing about how fun it was or saying how tired he is but all you can think about is how the sounds he’s making remind you of the ones he makes in your ear as he-
- His roommate definitely heard the two of you having sex before; though you probably try to smash when he’s gone or occasionally rent a motel or something. That being said: Tim probably just pats him on the back and casually tells him that he might want to head out for a while “dog” before heading into the bedroom himself.
- Honestly, you guys probably casually look at different porn together like it’s a normal thing to watch on a random Wednesday night. You never have to worry about whether or not he’ll walk into the room; or vice versa, because the most he’ll do is question what you put on and watch over your shoulder for a couple minutes before carrying on; unless you’re asking for “help” or something.
- He’s definitely bought one of those Kama Sutra-esque books or searched around online in order to find out what position is best for the girl during sex; or something of the sort. He has a binder full of research that revolves around making sure you enjoy yourself in different types of situations: like days where you’re on your period or if you have specific need that need to be met.
- You honestly never have to feel insecure about anything. He’s the sweetest guy ever and makes you feel completely comfortable regardless of your level of experience or your opinion of yourself. Just confide in him and he’ll either reassure you or avoid whatever makes you uncomfortable without a second thought: and trust that he’ll be checking in with you anytime he senses that you’re not into something any more.
- Giggly sex. Tim is not a serious person and sometimes that translates in the bedroom.
- He absolutely loves when you kiss his neck; it never fails to get him going. Just be careful of when you do it because he’ll either jump your bones or, if he’s already on top of you, get too distracted from what he’s doing and wind up accidentally edging you.
- He’s a boob guy and that’s just a fact. He loves every kind but he has a particular affinity for ones with piercings so congratulations if you have them.
- Your naked figure definitely turns him on but he also just finds himself innocently admiring you. He’s more likely to catch you getting changed and just feel lucky that he got to see you in the nude rather than popping a boner for thirty minutes after the fact. It’s kind of sweet actually.
- He has an infatuation with seeing you in leather and other more alternative types of lingerie so if you really want to get him going, surprise him with that.
- Tim is probably at least somewhat into the whole dominatrix thing so keep that in mind when you’re with him. He said it himself: without pain and deprivation, one can never experience true pleasure.
- Pull his hair, scrape your nails down his back, bite him a little; what have you. You probably did it the first time without thinking and immediately thought to yourself “oh shit, oh shit, what the fuck did I just do” but he responded with a broken moan and you were suddenly not so nervous any more. He’s constantly leaving the bedroom with bruises and a smile on his face.
- Dripping candle wax on him. I told you he was depraved.
- Bondage. He likes having your hands on him too much to tie you up but you’re more than welcome to tie him. And given how good he looks when he’s attached to your bed frame, you’re probably gonna wanna take him up on that offer.
- Threesomes. Tim's the type of guy to happily bring another dude into the bedroom but don’t expect him to just sit back and watch. If you’re having a guest, he’ll want one that he can experiment with as well so try to plan accordingly.
- He’s probably into pegging and that’s all I’ll say about that.
- He has a big dick; I know this for a fact, and his big dick is pierced so do with that information what you will.
- He’s impartial to how he finishes so it’s really just up to you to decide.
- Tim’s great at after care but he’s also the type of person who needs it himself. Don’t be surprised if he’s the one who requests to cuddle or shower together, or whatever else a person could need/want.

Of plants and loops
So I thought about that loop as requested (@zuzla33 (manip @awerager))and it got a little weird, sorry. And not even really smutty, just fluff. I'm sorry about that too. 😅
I hope someone will like it anyway!
*
Armie ran his thumb firmly over the line just behind Tim's jawline while kissing the area around Tim's larynx with his lips, then slid his tongue around the neck to behind his ear while his fingers wrapped around Tim's throat, fingertips digging into the muscles, just lightly, yet determined, so that he felt the larynx move noticeably as Tim swallowed.
He'd been doing this for quite a while now, devoting himself to Tim's throat. Tim loved it when Armie gave all his attention to it. And Armie loved doing this just as much. He knew every millimeter, knew where Tim liked it best, how soft, how strong, with his lips, with his tongue, his fingers, or rather a light sucking, with teeth or without.
And when Tim couldn't get enough, he would stretch his head back a little more, whisper "Tongue..." or "Thumb…" and point to the appropriate spot, or simply demand "Hands! Both!"
When Armie followed these instructions, he was usually gifted with a blissful smile, often accompanied by a soft sound that was not far from a cat purr.
Like now.
Tim smiled, Tim purred.
So much so that Armie thought that now that he had almost sent Tim to cloud nine with his massage, they might as well get on with it.
But when Armie let his one hand slide between Tim's legs, Tim uttered a completely indignant "No!"
And stood up and left.
At first, Armie was quite confused, he had to admit, when it slowly dawned on him why Tim probably had reacted the way he did.
Armie had had a real cleaning frenzy that morning. He had felt the great need to have the living room a little more tidy, which on the one hand was due to the fact that Tim really left everything lying around but on the other hand could also be due to the fact that Armie sometimes liked to have a certain clarity around him - if everything was already going haywire in his head. Kitchen psychology saying hello.
So he had tidied up and in his tidying mania had seen the plants, if you could still call them that, on the windowsill. Pitiful, almost - but only almost - dead plants from the Joshua Desert that Tim had once dug up and dragged along to stuff into various pots.
Well, their miserable condition could not be explained because they were not watered enough, after all, they were desert plants. But they seemed to lack the right soil or the hot sun, or whatever; fact was that neither their housekeeper seemed to find a way to make them bloom again, nor he and certainly not Tim, because he never managed to take care of such things.
So Armie decided, these plants had to go.
When Tim strolled through the apartment a little later, chewing, the cereal bowl in his hand, it was somehow clear that he noticed the absence immediately.
"Where are the plants?"
After Armie pleaded guilty, the outrage was great, but somehow so was Armie's petulance.
"You never took care of them anyway! Besides, they were ugly!"
"They weren't ugly! They were beautiful!"
"I'm not arguing with you now about the inner beauty of a stunted, ugly plant!"
"But they meant a lot to me! They stood for us, for our relationship!"
"I sincerely hope they did not stand for our relationship, because that would mean our relationship has completely withered away!"
Well, if looks could kill….
He was sorry, really sorry and he had apologized immediately.
It was strange, because it had actually looked as if Tim had forgotten the whole thing by now. But now Armie was obviously taught a better lesson.
Two hours later, Tim was sitting on the sofa reading, and Armie thought it would be a nice excuse to massage Tim's feet.
So Armie sat down next to him on the couch, took Tim's feet on his lap, took off his socks and massaged first one foot, then the other. For a very long time.
And Tim seemed to enjoy it, smiling at him every now and then, even closing his eyes with a satisfied grin, stretching so that his one foot pushed up against Armie's cock, and - intentionally or not - Armie of course didn't mind.
When this happened a second time, and Tim's foot really did push against Armie's already quite stiff cock with great relish, Armie could be sure that this was now purely intentional and therefore wanted to lean forward to kiss Tim’s lips, but was vehemently stopped from doing so by that very foot.
Moreover, Armie was punished with a look by Tim that seemed to ask how the hell Armie got the absurd idea of wanting to kiss him, followed by Tim's subsequent ignorance of Armie’s presence, which consisted of Tim simply continuing to read his book, so that Armie finally stood up, completely unnerved. And tried to calm himself down by telling himself that sometimes Tim just took a little longer.
Then at dinner everything seemed normal again, they chatted about this and that as if nothing had been wrong, and when they sat together on the sofa afterwards and watched a movie, Tim laid his head in Armie's lap as he almost always did.
After the movie they even made out. A lot, for a long time, extensively, lots of those hot and teasing licks from Tim, until Armie was already really worked up and out of sheer habit let his hand slide between Tim's legs.
"No!"
"Tim!" Armie groaned, because he just couldn't believe it. "You can't be serious, you're flying to London in two days!"
"Am I?"
And the way Tim couldn't help a tiny little evil twitch of the corners of his mouth, not to mention the most faked expression of surprise ever, showed Armie that he did have a real little bitch of a partner doing all this only to let him run aground and suffer.
Armie's eyebrows narrowed, he had to take a deep breath, but he knew he was going to get the short end of the stick, so he just said "Fine!", got up, went upstairs to the bathroom, brushed his teeth and went to bed.
When Tim crawled into bed sometime later, Armie pretended to be asleep. If Tim was acting like that...he could do it too!
The next morning, Armie decided to just turn the tables and ignore Tim completely, let him see where he got with his games.
Unfortunately, Armie quickly realized that Tim didn't seem to mind Armie's behavior at all!
Much more it seemed to move him to teasingly brush his curls out of his face while biting his bottom lip, to pleasurably suck on the cereal spoon, to very consciously bite into a banana, to expose his buttocks while scratching his ass, to stick out his ass while bending down, to grab his crotch, God knows what else, and why was he wearing almost nothing at this time of year, anyway, when he was cold all the time, even at 70 degrees in the shade?!
It made Armie furious, but he didn't really know what he could do about it, because he had the feeling that no matter what he would do, he would only make it worse.
Fact was, his desire and Tim's behavior were making him hornier by the minute.
But he had his pride, he didn't want to run after Tim like a dumb horny moose, and didn't want to make the impression it was all about sex. And that's why, when Tim told him he wanted to go out with friends in the evening, he said, Oscar-worthy indifferently, "Yeah, sure," while it tore him up inside.
At least it gave him a little bit of satisfaction that it seemed that Tim looked at him a second longer than intended.
Little bitch.
Still, the more the probability vanished that he would have sex with Tim today, the worse his desire became, until his thoughts turned exclusively to x-rated images in his mind.
Tim naked and willing in bed, Tim moaning and gasping, Tim begging to suck his big cock, Tim sucking his big cock, Tim begging to fuck him harder. Tim begging... Tim begging....
The important thing was: Tim begging!
So since afternoon, Armie had been walking around with a semi-hard-on at the latest, while his mind was happily saying goodbye to him, leaving him with a purely pornographic heap of hormones.
His need, of course, was not satisfied so by evening he was nothing but a pile of misery, his pride all but shattered. He was not far away from being the one who was begging now, his only desire being to touch Tim, which made him feel like a street dog, whimpering for the slightest bit of affection.
He stepped into the bathroom where Tim was standing in front of the mirror, getting ready for the evening, looking gorgeous as always.
And everything in Armie ached because he wanted nothing more than to touch him.
Why hadn’t he tried harder to make up for it? Why did he waste all day being stubborn?
"So what are you doing tonight?" asked Tim softly.
Armie shrugged his shoulders at first but then corrected his posture and tried to scrape together the last of his pride, saying bravely in an almost firm voice, "I'll probably stop by Nick's."
Tim smiled. "Say hi to them, okay?"
Armie nodded and continued to look at Tim. Getting more and more lost in his thoughts.
How he would love to touch him now.
How much he'd like to push his curls up now so he could kiss his neck, how much he'd like to just wrap his arms around him, give him a kiss on the cheek.
How much he...
How much he would love to at least just put his hands on Tim's goddamn hips.
At least that.
Armie’s gaze grazed the loop on Tim's shiny cloth pants.
Tim rarely wore pants with belt loops. Mostly he wore sweatpants with elastic. It looked kind of unusual.
That loop… the way it stuck out there… That hole… that you could put something through....
Armie inwardly rolled his eyes at himself. Now he was finally going crazy. If belt loops made him hot!
"Can you help me close the chain? The clasp is freakishly small." Tim held up a chain and Armie, as if in a trance, took a step behind Tim and took the chain in his hand, while secretly inhaling Tim’s scent.
Tim held up his curls and waited for Armie to put the chain around his neck.
Armie had done this many times before, admiring the little hairs on Tim's neck in the course of it, putting his lips on them afterwards.
This time he didn't dare. He didn’t want another rejection. Couldn’t take it.
Once he finished closing the clasp, he looked down in frustration as the loop on the pants caught his eye again. This hole... through which one could put something...
He wondered if he could -
Tim shouldn't have anything against that, should he?
Very slowly, he reached out and slipped his thumb through the loop and almost started to smile, because it felt like a triumph that Tim didn't turn him down.
Just looked at him intently instead, smiled gently.
"You like that?"
Yeah. Even though this was beyond weirdness.
But he enjoyed it, this little touch that had such great meaning to him right now. Longing for that little connection with Tim. And Tim let him. It made him remember that nothing should be taken for granted.
Tim could have made fun of him but he didn’t. Said gently smiling, "How about you do that again when I get back? Put your thumb through my loop. Would you like that?”
And as weird as it seemed, Armie more than happy took the offer.
As soon as Tim was out the door, though, Armie wondered if he shouldn't have asked Tim to stay. But he had been still so caught up in his ridiculously huge self-pity that he hadn’t dared.
So he vegetated the evening on the sofa, with a pillow between his legs, zapping through the channels, because of course neither Nick nor his other friends had time for him.
But nothing could catch his interest, nothing could distract him from longing for Tim.
Tim.
Sweet Tim.
Beautiful Tim.
Hot Tim.
Tim.
He must have fallen asleep on the couch because suddenly he felt Tim nudging his knee against his.
Smiling down at him.
Saying "Hey," softly and so tenderly. "Did you fall asleep?"
Armie tried to get his thoughts in order. Hadn't he just dreamed something odd? Something about eating cereal loops and trying to put his tongue and then his fingers through the loops and miserably failing?
Tim kept looking at him, so gently. Everything was so soft about him. Like if Armie touched him, everything would feel like cloud soft cotton.
If he ever got to touch him again, that was.
He would love to touch him so much.
His longing was so intense, so unbearable.
Tim smiled and pushed his left hip a little forward. "You wanted to put your thumb through my hole - oops - loop again, didn't you? Sleepy bear?"
Armie alternately looked up at Tim and then back at the loop.
Tim, who looked like a beautiful angel just descending from heaven, smiling at him with a cheeky smile. And then the loop sticking out, this seductive hole, which seemed to be just waiting for something to be pushed through it and Armie wondered if one could somehow get so aroused and come just from putting one’s thumb through a trivial loop, as a substitute action so to speak.
Because at the moment it almost felt like that.
Armie didn't come, of course, as he put his thumb through the loop once more, but - even if the weirdness of it remained - it still felt so damn special.
And he thought, if he was never allowed to touch Tim again, but was still allowed to do this, he would still be happy.
Weird.
Completely weird.
"I like that too, you know,” Tim whispered.
Well then, at least he wasn't weird alone.
Then maybe they did belong together somehow after all.
"And I’m thinking of other things I'd like you to do, you know. Do you want me to tell you?"
Armie nodded, his thumb still stuck in the loop, playing with it, jerking a little, testing his limits.
"For example," Tim continued, his voice soft and sensual. "I'd like it if you sucked my cock through my pants."
Armie blinked, felt some synapses in his brain burst, the blood rushing through his veins, and a little, happy smile flitting through his face, so excited was he to be able to touch Tim again. In this fucking hot way.
He leaned forward, opened his mouth and eagerly enclosed Tim's cock, together with the cloth pants, sucked on it, felt the silky fabric on his tongue, pressed with his tongue again and again against the hardening cock until the fabric slowly soaked through.
But he wanted, needed better access, so he resolutely pulled Tim by the loop to the couch, pulled him up so that Tim was now standing over him, pushed Tim's one knee to the backrest so that Tim could put his shin on it, spread Tim's leg, guided Tim's crotch so that Tim was now sitting on his face while his head rested on the backrest, had his mouth wide open, taking as much in as he could, his lips and teeth around Tim's cock under the fabric, and he sucked on it, until the cloth was soaking wet and smiled as good as one could with a cock in one’s mouth when he was finally rewarded with a panting Tim above him.
No need to say he was hard as a rock himself.
At some point the teasing seemed to be enough, though, because Tim opened his pants hastily, took out his cock and propped himself up on the back of the sofa so he could slowly push it into Armie's mouth. Very slowly. And Armie enjoyed the silky feel of Tim's hard cock sliding deep into his mouth, enjoying the thickness, enjoying the way it spread his mouth, and then slowly pulled out again. Tim bit his lower lip and repeated the act with relish, clearly enjoying the sight.
In... and out.
In...and out.
And Armie just loved how much Tim loved it.
"You know what else I want?" asked Tim, looking down at Armie as he continued to push his cock slowly in and out of Armie's mouth.
“I want to fuck you.
I want you to fuck me...
I want to come on your face...
I want you to fuck my mouth and come down my throat."
And Armie’s cock twitched in response.
Tim pulled his cock out of Armie's mouth, put his hand on Armie's cheek, his thumb in Armie's mouth and felt his tongue curl around it.
"But that's just the rough outline."
Armie had to grin at that because he just loved Tim saying filthy things and couldn’t wait for more. "Yes, of course, just a very rough outline."
"And maybe I'll change something along the way. But I'll always tell you what I want. Would you like that?"
"Yes, I'd like that. Every detail please."
And a jolt of pure happiness ran through his body as Tim leaned down to kiss him tenderly.
He would do anything Tim wanted. After all, that was what he was here for. To worship Tim. He was sure that this was one of the reasons why he was here on earth. If he had done that, then he had done something right in his life.
Later, as they lay there intertwined, both more than satisfied, sweat coated, cum-stained, the heavy smell of sex in the air, Tim played with Armie's hair on his chest and whispered:
"I'm sorry if I overreacted like that. The most important thing is us, right? I forget that sometimes. And I'm sorry for that." A small grin flitted across his face, his nose wrinkled. "Although I kind of liked how sweet and lost you were today."
He would be so lost without Tim.
Armie kissed Tim's temple.
He wasn't mad that Tim had let him suffer.
But he knew now what he would do when Tim was in London.
He would borrow Tyler's truck and, if necessary, transport the entire Joshua Desert to their house for Tim.
Because the plants did have meaning, Armie had realized.
They stood for hanging in there, no matter what they had to go through.
His hand gently brushed Tim's upper arm. "I love you. Even though you're a mean little bitch sometimes. Or maybe because of that. After today, I'm not so sure anymore."
Tim's naked body vibrated against his as he giggled and he couldn't feel happier.
It was good to have symbols.
They could remind you not to take anything for granted.
A plant, a loop, whatever.

Tim ran to her, faster than he ever would care to admit. Zoe’s words were swirling through his brain. She was awake! She was! For the first time since her accident, Tim felt his heart finally stop beating so rapidly.
Tim's heart races as he rushes towards Lucy's room, his mind clouded with worry and urgency. Bursting through the door, he freezes at the sight before him. There stands Lucy, her form still that of a wolf, her fur bristling as she emits low, threatening growls directed at Grace. Despite the fierce display, Tim senses her fear, evident in the trembling of her body. Taking a step closer, he speaks in a soothing tone, his voice gentle yet firm. "Lucy," he calls out, extending a hand towards her. "It's okay." He holds her gaze, willing her to recognize him amidst the chaos, hoping to calm her with his presence.
Her eyes darted from him and Grace, she was fearful of Grace. Lucy had woken up to Grace checking her wound, and the cold air coming into contact with her wound had awoken Lucy, and she was startled to see the stranger above her.

TO: @chefgretamorrison
LOCATION: Their home.
Lake had been on cloud nine for so long, that she almost forgot what this felt like. Almost. She could honestly say she didn't miss it, and that fact that it was the woman she deemed the love of her life making her feel this way was truly the cherry on top of a weird week. She sat with her legs crossed underneath her, one of the frilly throw pillows rested on her lap, as she mindlessly played with one of the white tessles that hung off it. Her attention was forward, her eyes never leaving the front door, as she stared; the last two hours had replayed in her head. Over, and over, and over again. 'I know you're mad at me, and I got kind of carried away the other day, but I think there's something you really need to see...' Her editor, Tim, who unbeknownst to him, would be her former just as soon as this book was done; said to her over the table at Lucile's dinner. She wasn't particularly in the mood for whatever he had for her, but whatever disdain she had for the man who was supposed to be her friend took a back seat when she looked down at a yellow envelope, and on top was a smaller white one that had her fiance's name scribbled across it. Confusion had laced her features, only for him to tell her to open them. What she'd find within both would've bought her lunch back up had she had any. A front and back love letter had been written to the woman she was supposed to be marrying, and underneath were pictures of her fiance and another woman at a restaurant. Both looking awfully too comfortable with one another. If it wasn't for the rapid beating of her heart, and the way she continued to swallow as if to keep whatever food she had in her system down; she may have been more concerned about how he got these. Apart of her was, until he told her he had been in New York the week of valentine's. Suddenly things started clicking, and her mind had been racing ever since. Surely Greta wouldn't, she knew her soon-to-be wife. But she couldn't shake the questions. Or the nagging in the back of her head, the nauseous feeling, nor the verge of a her heart breaking. She had been cheated on before, she had been left before, she most definitely had her heart shattered before; but she never expected Greta of any of those things. Not only was she feeling sick, but she was also feeling stupid. The confession at the beginning of their relationship; when Greta said she didn't do serious relationships. Was that her warning, and she chose to ignore it? It couldn't be. Why would she ask her to marry her then? Before she could keep running theories and questions through her head, the front door opened, and there before her stood what could very likely be her beginning of the end. Without formalities, Lake simply eyed her fiance. Doing her absolute best to remain calm, before she said, "I'm going to give you one chance not to lie to me." There was a pause, then a scoff, "Again." She paused once again, mainly to remind herself to remain calm because she wanted to start screaming. But they weren't there yet, maybe this wasn't what she thought it was. Just... maybe. "The week of valentine's, when you went to New York. What were you doing?"

Okay going to continue my explanation of young: just us with an explanation of season one!
so since a lot of the early yj stuff was very secret focused, season one is focused on Greta. So after the series premiere, as documented in my first post about this, we come to episode five, where the team has their first encounter with Harm. During this fight, it is made very clear that Secret is uncomfortable with Harm but isn't sure why. The team isn't sure what to do and they're losing pretty badly, tim is being thrown around, cassie isn't doing all that much damage, bart is lying face down on the road, kon's ttk isn't doing all that much, all of cissie's arrows are being thrown back at her, he's dodging all anita's attacks and her powers aren't working on him, slobo got thrown into the sky and hasn't come down yet, shits hitting the fan. so tim makes an executive decision to book it and no one is complaining.
Episode six they have a parent teacher conference <3 this goes roughly the same as it did in the comics but +agent fite. yaknow how it is, silly goofy fun camping times with the kids, everyone ragging on bonnie, kon seeming vaguely suicidal, tim being paranoid enough to wear two masks. just some team bonding and a look in on their home lives (or lack thereof)
Episode Seven they have to deal with something unimportant and in the background kon's trying to catch cissie's arrows because he thinks he should be able to (this will be important)
Episode eight, they meet with harm again while stopping him from killing the pope (wtf was the point of this???? gonna use it anyway). And everyones starting to feel somethings fucking off when hardly any of their attacks are working. Only Secret's. Anita is able to do a tiny bit of damage but not much. So Cassie says run and they run. (tims still the leader but people listen to cassie)
Episode nine theyre having a pool day but most of the team runs off, leaving greta alone by the pool. She's looking into the water and starts to see things. A brother. A sister. A stereo and a bathtub. She's terrified. Immediately runs to go find the others and tell them she knows who Harm is, who she is. And she knows something else, too. Harm is dead and so is she.
Episode ten is a ghost battle for the ages with the others running around trying to tip things in greta's favor. It's working, but barely. She's only just barely winning by an inch. At the end of the fight, they disappear into a cloud of dust. No one knows what to do so after hours of waiting in silence they just go home.
And that's season one :)

Batmarch Finale: Batman (1989) Review: At Long Last Joker Dancing on Parade Float
Tumblr media
Hello all you happy batpeople and it's time for the finale of Batmarch! It's been a fun ride that really made me love the character again and it ends here with something i've been wanting to do since the start of this blog: IT's time to talk about Tim Burton's Batman, the 1989 classic blockbuster that created the first superhero movie boom, solidified the caped crusader as a dark brooding vigilante in the public eye, and gave us not one but two iconic scenes of joker dancing to prince music that live rent free in my head forevermore.
Batman took almost a decade to get going, with Producer Micheal Uslan, a comic book historian who taught a succesful course on comics as literature, wanting to take batman back to his earlier days as a mysterious figure of darkness. His timing was great as by the late 70's when he started his crusade for the caped crusader, Batman had been on a course back to those very roots thanks to the works of Neil Adams and Denny O'Neil. Comic fans ate up a darker batman and Batman returned to being a creature of the night.
The problem was for most audiences.. he was a creature of camp. While I adore the Adam West Batman, i'm honestly shocked i've only covered ONE episode of that gloriously goofy series, it left a mark on the character, with everyone assuming "Well that's what batman is". It's a common trait in comic book adaptations: TV and Movies reach a wide audience. It's why most people think Scott Summers is a plank of wood instead of a tatctical genius with a lot of baggage.
Thus studios either flat out rejected them or wanted a comedy in the vein of the adam wast show. Or rejected it for reasons like "It would be called Batman and Robin and we just had a film with robin in the name tha tbombed" or "It and Annie are both "from the funnie" pages and Annie just bombed (yet did INCREDIBLY well on home video)"
Tumblr media
Thankfully the film got rescued as, with John "Giant Mechanical Spider Peters" getting on board, he suggested they do what they did with superman: promote the hell out of the film and the script they had and hope someone buys into the hype. Sure enough it worked as Warner Bros picked up the film and to my suprise they already owned DC Comics, the rights simply got sold off for the reasons film rights to properties often do
Tumblr media
So Warner was eager to get the property back in house and profit off it.
With that it was time for a full script by Tom Mankiewicz who based it largely on Steve Englehart and Marshall Rogers short but memorable run on Detective Comics I wasn't aware of till doing research for this review, but now happily own. Rogers was even brought on to do concept art. The script went through NINE revisions according to wikipedia, but all were based largely on tom's original. Directing wise Joe Dante and Wes Craven were both considered and i'd loved to see what their version of the film would've been like. Ivan Reitman also was, but wanted a comedy starring billl murray with the studio eyeing eddie murphy for robin.
Tumblr media
Thankfully the success of Pee Wee's Big Adventure lead Warner Bros to go with their new golden boy, who was just coming off production of another soon to be hit, Beetlejuice, Tim Burton, pictured here looking like Batman's goth best friend he takes in the batmobile to get him out of the house.
Tumblr media
I'd pay so much to see that version of this movie.
Burton wasn't a comic fan , but upon getting the project was a fan of recent hits The Dark Knight Returns and The Killing Joke, and was fascinated with what batman could be. Meanwhile Warner brought in Englehart himself to make a draft. Burton then brought in Sam Hamm, a rookie screenwriter and HUGE fan of the character who quickly proved to be the perfect fit, tightening up the screenplay: he removed Robin (something no one was sad about as he was a studio mandate), replaced Silver St Cloud (Bruce's love intrest during the Englehart Run) and Rupert Throne with Vicki Vale and Carl Grissom and the script was set.
So casting began. After a number of more traditional leads were considered, Burton went with Micheal Keaton at the suggestion of Peters, who felt Keaton has the tortured quality batman needed. It was a great call as he fit both sides: he was stoic and comanding as batman, but as bruce was perfectly absentminded, as if he was far away, yet still charastmatic and likeable. It was a good contrast and also made it easy to see why no one suspect this guy was batman.
Unfortuantely the fans.. were not pleased. Yes even then peopl ewere liable to throw hands over casting decisions before seeing them proper. I've not been imune to this: I liked Ben Affleck but wasn't sure he fit batman, only to be proven wrong when he was easily one of the saving graces of Batman V Superman and it's regretful he couldn't be batman in a better movie.
Fans worried that Keaton , who up to this point had mostly been in comedies, meant the film would be camp like the tv series and film again, to the point this MADE HEADLINES. The studio even breifly considered reasting, but burton held firm.
If your curious other actors considered were Pierce Brosnan (who had no intrest in doing a comic book movie), Mel Gibson (dodged a bullet there), Kevin Costner, Charlie Sheen (Another bullet dodged, too much tiger blood to be a bat man), Tom Selleck, Harrison Ford and Dennis Quaid. None of these really.. feel right, and it's burton's first choice before realizing Keaton was it , the green goblin himself Willam Dafoe, that woul'dve worked with what he was going for. None of these actors are bad, even sheen and gibson are good actors just..awful human beings, they just don't fit the part. Sheen in paticular feels like the worst timeline and I pity the earth that got saddled with frat bro batman.
Naturally every hero needs a good villian and while another row of talent was considered, the studio and Peters heavily pushed for Jack Nicholson over other competiors such as Brad Douriff, Tim Curry, and David Bowie, all versions of this film i'd LOVE to see in some other timeline. That said Nichelson was the perfect choice.
How they finally nailed him down is my faviorite story I found from the documentary: So Nicholson was open to it, liking the part but to lock it down wanted them to meet him for horseback riding. Burton , nature's perfect indoor kid, was naturally deeply uncomfortable on a horse and i'd pay good money to get the picture they claimed existed of Tim Burton on a horse with Jack Nicholson. I find it fascinating in of itself that Jack Nicholson rides horses and has a deep love of horses. That's a thing that fits, but just never occured to me. The most uncomfortbale horse ride ever netted him the part and Nicholson trusted burton completely on set and spoke highly of him in the documentary.
The final main cast addition came due to , of all the possile reasons, a horse riding accident. No it wasn't tim burton himself, but Sean Young, who'd been cast as Bruce's reporter love intrest Vicky Vale and had to bow out, replaced by Kim Bassinger.
Rounding out the cast we have Robert Whul as local reporter and only one digging into this batman case Knox, Cool School owner and operator Billy Dee Williams as Harvey Dent, Pat Hingle as Comissioner Gordon, acting legend Jack Palance as crime boss and the joker's boss Carl Grissom, and Tracey Walter as Joker's NUMBER. ONE. GUY. Bob.
Promotion for the film was something unique. Nowadays we're used to big, omnipresent ad blitzes with our blockbusters, a huge swath of adds to let you know THIS FILM'S A COMIN. YOU CANNOT ESCAPE THIS FILM. I DON'T CARE IF YOUR AMBVILENT ABOUT ARTHUR AND THE KING YOU WILL GET 20 ADDS FOR IT JACOB. THE HYPE MACHINE HATH SPOKEN.
To start Jon Peters helped cut a teaser trailer, wanting to get SOMETHING out to show that no, this wasn't going to be like the Adam West show stop calling me about it dennis. The trailer was only a minute and a half, had no music behind it, something I only found out, and is clearly just whatever clips they had that were ready. You can find it here. It's throughly intresting.
It also.. works. While it's only a short teaser, it gets across what this film is, shows both joker and batman enough to get hyped, all while not spoiling the film. Granted they probably didn't have enough footage yet TO do that but still, it's a well done teaser with only one or two bits feeling like their just.. thrown in there and given the time crunch to get this in front of a teast audence, I can salute that it's still works.
And it worked MASSIVELY. People bought tickets JUST to see this teaser, bootlegs of it sold like hot cakes. It was meant to get people hyped up for what this film actually was.. and it DID, erasing doubts Keaton wasn't batman and showing people just what they were getting.
Warner then went all in promoting the hell out of this film, to the point Marvel's she hulk did a parody of this where a new super heroine does a simliar add blitz: There was cereal, tiger games, merchandising of all kinds. It was a huge gamble as if the film failed to live up to the hype... it'd be a joke NOTHING could live down, would sink the careers of everyone involved from production on down, and possibly destroy warner.
Naturally though.. it didn't. The gamble paid off. It's almost like if you actually RELEASE a film and have faith in the creators, you'll make money. The film was a massive success leading to three more films in this series and a mind boggling 11 theatrical and 60+ total films JUST starring the batman. That's not getting into team movies.
So join me under the cut as we see if , after 35 years of excellence, this film still lives up to the hype in a genre now packed with classics.
Bat Class and Bat Style:
Starting out with the style of the film, it can't be overstated the sheer impact this film had on Gotham city as a place. Before this it was mostly a standard city, just more of a crime hole than most. It was weird reading some of that very Steve Englehart run I mentioned and seeing Gotham. .as a pretty standard metropolis, if not obviously THE metropolis.
Batman is where , to my shock, Gotham was first portrayed as this art deco 40's style hellscape, a city of old buildings with the crime built into it's very foundations: a city of frequent nights, heavy shadows and plenty of places for an up and coming here ot perch and brood. It's an atmosphere that almost feels consuming: you can't escape gotham and it won't let you. It's a monster as much of a city. Batman the Animated series would build on this, making this what gotham was: a city with it's dark history seeped into it's stone that feels massive and endless, like no matter how much batman does the city is almost too big for him to ever fully save.
The rest of the style is after the 40's, a nice nod to batman premiering JUST before they started in 1939. We have large flashes on the cameras, reporters in suits the like.
I also realized this wasn't just a cool style choice, it's a thematic one: Most of Gotham wears these types of clothes, fitting with how Gotham is: a city with a long proud history.. but one it finds itself stuck in. A lot of those men in suits are either helpless goverment types who WANT to make things better but can only do so much like Gordon or Dent, or outright corrupt men like the various mob bosses who control it from the shadow. Even Knox , who tries to go for the scoop, is stuck in the old behaviors of sexisim, hitting on his photographer and creative partner vicki a lot nad being a possesive dick about her romance when it's none of his damn buinsess.
The people who may actually change this city are the ones who come off more with the time: Bruce most of the time wears looser suits or , in one scene casual clothes. The one time he dosen't is to fit in at his own party, to blend in so well Knox and Vale don't even notice he was behind them for a whole scene. When he's himself he's awkward, but also kind and charming. When he's his truest self batman he's calm, intmidating and of course dressed in a lot of rubber. He dosen't fit with Gotham.. but by doing so he can change it for the better.
Vicki is diffrent, fitting in a bit better but her hair and styles tend more toward practical, often wearing her glasses which look neat. Wish I had a pair like that. She brushes off Knox's comments, dosen't want anyone taking ownership of her and rightly calls bruce out for ghosting her (Granted he's also right ot try and get her to stop for one minute so he can tell her she's batman). She's trying to change it more by simply finding the batman, but it's still someone diffrent.
Finally we have the Joker, who stylistically dosen't deviate greately as jack.. but once he becomes something else, he changes. he wears the suit sure... but it's a bright purple with a giant boutiner. He wears makeup, but it's barely covering and by the time of the art heist there more for a joke than actual cover. His attempts to fit in are really more a joke than an actual attempt. Napier never really fit in... he simply stopped putting on the pretense once he became the joker.
Joker's moderness also comes through in othe rways; his biggest scheme heavily involves the rise of cosmetics and the television, using his then modern Smilex adds to stow paranoia. He vandalizes classic art for funsies to a dope prince song. And for his final masterstroke he captalizes on the greedhead nature of the 80's: he correctly figures if you throw enough money at people they'll forgive anything, and throws a ton of money into the crowd in the film's best scene, capering and hamming it up as he prepares to kill them all by luring them into one place. It's telling that the only two places in the film itself Prince's songs show up are with the Joker, who embodies the excess of the 80's while still having his classic 40's born design.
And since we're talking about him...
The Devil in the Pale Moon Light
Nicholson's joker is fantastic. I wasn't big on him for a long time.. but I realized on rewatch it wasn't the performance. Nicholson fucking nails it, having that manic energy hid with a genial calm that makes a good joker to me, that sort of charisma where you geninely can't tell if you'll end the scene as his NUMBER. ONE. GUY. or with a bullet in the belly. He's hammy as hell when he wants to be, deathly calm when he wants to be, and the only one who truly understands himself always.
Nicholson's joker strikes me as a mad Performanceartist, an interpretation I like: his jokes are carefully crafted pieces always done for a terrified audience of some kind. Only one of his kills or crimes post putting a smile on that face dosen't have an audience, Grissom, and he STILL puts on a show for him, shooting him to opera music while giggling like a mad man. Every other crime is a big show, which isn't inconsitant for joker. Every joker has theater kid tendencies, this joker is just the one who has the most thespian energy.
His schemes are also fantastic, props to Burton and the writers: their the right mix of operartic performance art and ghastly crime. From defacing a museum for the attention, to the utterly brillaint smilex ad which parodies the hell out of 80's ad trends and is one of the best joker scenes in media, perfectly capturing his sort of scheme, this versions love of a good performance, and the time it was in. The poor editing and his "Chances are you already own some" and the laugh after.. it's genius. Every piece is great. I also love the pen stabbing which I didn't really pay much attention to before but the mimes, the awesome as hell outfit, the "Uncle bingo" line.. it's so damn fun and the mundanety of the stabbing, feather quill or not makes it a shocker
The two best though are the ones embeded on my mind from childhood to present day: THe art scene is awesome and I love the way he says lawrence, with him just getting into general dicking around shenanigans because it's fun, saving a picture because it's horrifying. I also love his dickish "date" with vicky where he just calls all her glamour photo's crap. You can tell Jack Nicholson is loving EVERY second of this. Granted who wouldn't love grooving to Party Man, which is a truly awesome song. Prince didn't half ass it for this album and while his inclusion is a clear studio mandate Tim Burton didn't seem enthused about in the documentary, Burton still made it work perfectly. It's really hard to not make prince work granted, but it's still flawlessly used.
My faviorite scene of the film though... is Trust aka "Jack nicholson fucking destroys while riding on a blimp" Those hand moves, his expressions, bob and lawrence's grins as they throw money, the banger that is Trust behind him. While Partyman is good and really fits Joker, Trust is a fun banger jam that fits the party atmosphere of Joker's final gambit. The sight of joker throwing money everywhere while mugging is just.. peak joker and one of the best moments of the character and in superhero cinema period.
While Nicholson's joker is mostly celebrated there are two big points of contention, two elephants in the room to tackle.
The first is the fact we get Joker's name at all, that we know anything about him before he became joker as a huge part of his mystique is being this mysterious murder clown who just.. fell in a vat one day and that's all we know before he started chasing batman.
I prefer his past to be a mystery, it adds to the charm and the terror of this guy... but on this watch I felt the Jack Napier version still really works. Nichson does a good job making both Jack and Joker feel like two very diffrent people: Jack was a fairly unambitious hood who WANTED to run everything, but had no real plans for it, content to screw the bosses mistress and be done with it. It's easy to buy into corrupt cop Eckhart's view Jack has no future.. because he didn't. The second Grissom found out what he was doing, he set Jack up to die. Jack ONLY escapes ace chemicals alive due to pure luck: Gordon got informed in time to take over and stop a potetial execution and Bob turned out to be the best guy ever and held said Gordon hostage to get batman to let Jack go. And even then Jack's own impulsiveness nearly killed him, falling into the vat. He's ONLY alive because of sheer luck and knowing a good back alley doctor using tools he got from a dentist who mysteriously died a few decades back.
Jack is an impulsive trainwreck.. the joker.. is Jack with all his inhibitions stripped.. and tha'ts why knowing Jack works. Jack was a pretty common hood: even the Wayne murder, we'll get to that shortly, was just buisness as usual. Jack had ambitious DREAMS, but seemed content to just wait for Grissom to die naturally then take his empire.
Joker by contrast is a mad artist: he sees gotham as his canvas, a toy to play with. He has all of jack's greed and drive, but none of his hesitance to act on it. He's impulsive but unlike jack, he thinks out his impulsive plans. He wants vicky kidnapped, but has his minons bring her, has a bunch of stuff ready and has a whole music video ready after. He barges in on her apartment but brings goons just in case. He's still impulsive enough to be the joker: He dosen't have a plan b for the parade, the pen stabbing comes off as "wouldn't this be neat let's do that", but it's still more than jack ever thought. Jack is truly gone: vestiges of him remain in his new self, he makes sure Grissom dies and wants to control gotham.. but he's now got the higher calling of mayhem: ruling gotham isn't because it's there.. it's because it's FUN. It works because it shows just how FAR joker can go, going from a midly high level enforcer, to a mad god whose only stopped by batman yanking hard enough. Jack works because, ala killing joke, it shows a mostly normal person becoming something far worse. The Joker has an origin and it informs him a bit.. but who jack was is gone by the joker and it's fascinating watching hwat he became.
So that brings us to the OTHER big change: Jack Napier killed Batman's parents. Now this one I agree was a bad idea: the tragedy of the wayne murders. .is that it was just some guy. Some random hood, sometimes named joe hill, shot two innocent people and doing so broke a child and created a bat. It being his future arch enemy feels contrived. Like IT HAD to be someone important because it was his destiny to be a vengeful orphan man! It can't have been just some guy it had to be a number one guy yes yes. It misses the point entirely and it just feels dumb and that reveal clouded my judgement. Jack on his own isn't bad but making him batman's parent's killer is just.. too much. That part sucks but everything ELSE about Uncle Bingo rules and one bad decision, that writer Sam Hamm swears wasn't his idea and came after it was in Burton's hands so blame accordingly, shoudln't negate such a fine performance.
Let's Get Nuts
Speaking of fine performances, let's talk about the Batman of the hour himself. While I went Joker first, Keaton's batman is awesome and has gotten it's due praise over the last few years.
Ironically a lot of what fans hated about him, his everyman looks and not being "muscular" are what make this bruce work. Much like Robert Pattinson's brilliant turn after, this is a Bruce who doesn't really socialize. Unlike Pattinsons he does put in the bare minimum, throwing parties and such... but it's clear while bruce is a known philanthropist, he's not really a big name figure in gotham beyond that. He's an inconspcious guy, so much that Vicky and Knox dont' even notice him or realize it is him. And that suits what he does great: he's so nondescript that once people start looking for batman they won't look there.
Not tha this secret identity being in danger is a big issue at first: Batman's experinced here, but also early enough he's just a myth: Only Knox thinks he's real and even he has no idea what this guy looks like. The criminals know, but both bruce and batman are unknowns at first and prefer it this way.
Bruce is a kind, gentle, down to earth guy: he quickly wins Vicki Vale over.. simply by showing an intrest in her work. It's subtly contrasted with the other two men in her life: Knox first notices her legs, hits on her mildly agresively and is a possesive tool, while Joker outright claims her and tries to kill bruce for stepping on his territory. Bruce wins Vicky over.. because he sees her as a PERSON and not boobs or a prize to be one. Basinger and Keaton have really great chemistry and while the two don't get a ton of scenes together, you see why Bruce takes to her so quickly.. and why he pushe sher away. His war on crime is ALL he has, and he dosen't want her getting caught in it, ironically taking away the agency that brought him to her. It's only when he realizes HOW much she means that he tries to open up. Then a clown shoots him but you know , thems the breka. It's telling when Alfred, to finally break this will they or won't they stalemate, brings her down he's not the least bit mad and is honest with Vicki and continues seeing her.. until she didn't come back for the sequel but that's a review for another day. A christmas day.
I bring up the relatoinship because it's what defines bruce, and while romances can be rushed in these movies.. this one works and fleshes bruce out. It creates a nice divide between the man he thinks he should be, the creatue of the night who scares a cowardly and superstitious lot, who dosen't flinch in any situation and is always calm.. with the all too human bruce who simply dosen't want to be alone. Well he has alfred but he can't rely on his dad forever.
As batman.. there isn't a ton to talk about as he's mostly stoic and badass. Keaton does a really good job of that.. but there's not a ton of expression other than "scowling and it's only in his final confrontation with the joker, his parents murderer he really emotes with pure unyielding rage. It's not bad.
There is one aspect that needs to be talked about though: This batman.. kills. It's a divisive idea as by this point batman's no killing rule was in place... but it's one I get Burton not using. He and those around him based this film on the earliest works, and in those.. Batman had no issue killing if he had to.
It works for me largely because Batman isn't wontonly killing: he uses the machine guns primarily to clear the way and presumibly, like the dark knight returns which is where Burton probably got the machine gun, their likely rubber bullets. The only person he truly tries to kill repeadetly is Jack. Not at the plant, as while it's said he drops him .. it really dosen't come off that way. It's left ambigious if batman did it on purpose or simply COULDN'T hold onto jack much longer. The only person Batman truly wants dead.. is the man who created him. Any other kills are mostly just life or death struggles. I prefer batman not to kill... but one who does so judciously still fits the character.
Finally before we move on we have the way his origin's done: While I said I didn't like the jack part the film tries to treat this as some big mystery.. with the problem being even in a post adam west pre burton world.. most people probably knew batman's parents were dead. It works to a point, but out of all the things in the film.. it feels like padding. We know why he's doing this, we're just waiting for Vicky to catch up and i'd be fine with that but ther'es juts.. nothing really added. She finds out his parents died. A matter of public record he didn't really bury. The only shocking reveal she finds is who killed his parents, which while a decen tswerve, couldv'e been hidden until the reveal. It just.. pads the film slightly, but not so much it obstructs it
The People of Gotham
Now for our side cast. Starting with our third lead we have Vicky Vale, she of the 80's hair, neat glasses and inconstient spelling in this review. Kim Bassinger does a great job with the character and they do TRY to flesh her out: she's been both a war reporter and a fashion photographer, is great at her career and while enamored with Bruce only takes his shit so far.
That being said while I do LIKE Vicky, it's largely down to the performance: Bassinger is a talented actress and i'd like to see her in more films. I mean i've only seen her in this, Wayne's World 2 and bits of Cool World. She did fine in all three, it's just clear she has talent and I hope to see her make a comeback if she wants. She makes a character given just enough sparkle.
That being said... plot wise.. Vicky's just there for exposition and as an object. They give her some depth, being a former war photographer, but the film's unintrested in exploring her as a person, instead having her explore bruce.
Tumblr media
And get put in danger three diffrent times. I mean she only gets kidnapped once but it feels like she's mostly there to get scared or romance bruce. The romance plot IS important as it fleshes Bruce out as a person... but it's telling it's mostly to flesh HIM out. Vicky and him have chemistry.. but again that's because her actress is that good. I can kinda see why she didn't want to return for the sequel, and feel bad that her replacement of sorts got way more with her character. Vicky.. deserved better.
Onto Alexander Knox, who is probably confusing those of you who haven't seen the film. Knox is a reporter and is intended as mild comic relief at times. In practice he's aged like fine cheese on a sidewalk covered in radioactive ants and pudding. His first words upon seeing Vicky "Hello Legs"
Tumblr media
He then offers to do nudes and in general just.. tends to hit on her often, while she clearly just wants to work with him and is only putting up with her bullshit because she's so clearly used to sexist bullshit and come ons at this point. I DO think some of this is intetional as there's a contrast in how he greets her and how Bruce greets her: Knox recognizes her work, but is mostly interested in
Tumblr media
While Bruce you know.. sees her as a person. That said Knox.. is also creepily posessive, telling her not to go out with bruce, not getting what she sees in him, and clearly being jealous. He's just kinda there to set up that batman's been a thing and is mostly seen as a myth then ceases to be relevant but sticks around the film anyway. He does go after some guys with a baseball bat but it's too little too late.
Finally out of our heroes side, we have Alfred. Micheal Gogh dosen't get a ton to do, but really owns the roll, giving you the impression of a man who simply dosen't want to see his surrogate son spend his whole life in a cave. he says as much outright but you can see just how HAPPY he is that Bruce has Vicky and how much he dosen't want him to loose her. He dosen't get to do much.. but his one big action was a source of contention for Sam Hamm, as it was added after. Alfred takes Vicky to the batcave. In Hamm's words "That would be his last day of employment"
Tumblr media
Alfred... is Bruce's dad. Not biologically, that we know of, but he raised Bruce. Even by this point in the comics it was clear Alfred was just as much a faithful retainer as he was Bruce's dad. Bruce would get mad about something like this.. but he'd never fire Alfred as a snap judgement, especially when Bruce WAS GOING TO TELL VICKY ANYWAY. Alfred likely knew this. All Alfred did was eliminate a step. It wasn't like Alfred invited his acapella group, the Alfredpellas, down there.
We then have Alicia. Alicia dosen't get much to do as this script REALLY wasn't intrested in women but is intresting. My friend Jess the Vampire pointed out when we watched this she's kind of a proto harley quinn: someone deeply intrested in the Joker despite how he abuses her. At first it's fairly equal: Jack gives her attention Grissom isn't and him becoming joker shocks her but isn't bad. Then he horribly scars her as an art piece, and abandons her for Vicky and the sheer trauma causes her to throw herself off a building. It's a tragic story as she didn't relaly do anything wrong, she just had bad taste in men: first Grissom then Jack then Joker. It's not as layered as poor harley, but it's a good first draft and adds to what a monster Joker is. He just makes her into his horrifying art then throws her away when he's done.
Finally out of the major characters we have Bob. Bob is a quiet MVP in this film, Jack's best friend and #2 and Joker's Number. One. Guy.
What I hadn't noticed before is even pre joker.. Bob is LOYAL to Jack. He gets Eckhart not to shoot jack, and most importantly saves Jack from Batman at Ace Chemicals, holding Gordon hostage. From the go he's invauable to his bestie, helping make up for Jack's impulsivness. And while Jack just kinda shrugs, as he tends to, Joker recognizes this. He instantly makes Bob his NUMBER. ONE. GUY. and unlike grissom, who only said it in jest and as a veiled threat, Joker really seems to mean it. He has Bob stalk vicky for him, lure her to the musuem, all creepy shit sure but all stuff Joker needs vitally done and trusts Bob to do without any ulterior motive. And he does. Bob's also just fun: he capers a lot during partyman and is one of the best parts of Trust, his expression as he's throwing money gives me life. It also makes his death tragic. Bob was not a good guy, again he stalked a woman because he was told to.. but he was loyal and friendly.. and joker kills him simply because he got pissed off. His death is, fitting the joker, hilarious, just the casual way he asks for a gunt hen shoots bob with it, but it's a sad end to a NUMBER. ONE. GUY.
The rest of the side cast.. is pretty one note. Gordon is just the police chief, something that carries over to most other versions we've seen on film, Dark Knight being the exception. He has a great moment at ace chemicals but does fuck all the rest of the film except light up the bat signal. Harvey Dent is there to set up a future role that never comes for Billy Dee Williams. Grissom is memorable thanks to Jack Palance's delivery of "NUMBER. ONE. GUY. ", but otherwise is just a standard gangster man. The rest of the cast is mostly there to do plot and they do do it well but don't do much else.
Conclusion: And with that Bat March comes to a belated end. I enjoyed this review as it made me take a close look at a film I loved... and ended up loving it MORE. Batman has rough edges, some due to age some due to simply being one of the earlier comic book movies, but it' sstill damn good even today. It's a classic, a fun ride with banger performances, a lot of detail and deft direction from Burton. If you haven't watched it in a while, please do. If you have.. well do anyway it's that good.
Thanks for reading and thanks for enjoying batmarch

Agreste-Wayne 11
It was a quiet night in Wayne Manor for once. The girls were already tucked into their beds, fast asleep. Alfred had turned in for the night. Bruce was off on a vacation, he had promised Selina, and the rest of the boys were out with friends. Adrien, Damian, and Marinette had already changed into their pajamas and sat comfortably by the fireplace to relax. Adrien laid across one of the arm chairs reading another parenting book. Marinette was looking at the latest fashion magazine, while Damian rested his head against her shoulder. Suddenly, Marinette felt a large kick. She quickly got up, startling her husband awake. Damian quickly panicked, but found Marinette standing in front of Adrien.
"Gimmie your hands." she demanded.
Damian sighed in relief and settled back into the couch cushions. He let out a small smile, realizing what was happening. Adrien still confused, held out his hands to Marinette. She smiled at placed them on her stomach.
"Mari, what-" Adrien began to question, but froze.
'Was-Was that a kick?'
Adrien gently pressed his hand on Marinette's stomach, where he thought he felt something against his hand. Sure enough, there was a faint press back. Adrien's eyes lit up in wonder.
"Emma kicked me! She kicked me!" Adrien smiled, happily.
Marinette giggled as Adrien hugged her and pressed his face to her belly.
"Hi, Emma. I'm your Daddy. I can't wait to meet you, Princess." Adrien quickly placing a kiss on her stomach and pulled away, "Sorry, Damian."
"You kissed the baby; it's fine." The Wayne answered
"Damian!" Marinette scolded, slapping his arm.
Damian merely yawned in rebuttal. Adrien chuckled and pulled away from Marinette.
"Come on, Sleepy Head. You have work at five in the morning." Mari spoke, helping him to his feet.
Damian growled in response, "Stupid Father and his stupid random trips."
"You know as well as I do; they are not random." Marinette smirked.
Damian yawned again, "I know; the coward. He should be here for the board review, not me."
"At least you will have Tim to call them out on their bullshit." she reminded him.
"If he's not passed out next to me." the Wayne heir grumbled.
Marinette laughed, as she gently tugged her husband to their room.
Adrien smiled, as he watched the flames flicker on the log. He was still on Cloud Nine from feeling Baby Emma kick his hand. She was getting bigger and it only made him more excited.
'My Little Princess.'
