I'm coming out

Now, this may seem like a joke. "Ash, you've been out for years." "You've always hinted to it." "You literally act like a boy online." But I've never directly said, I've never admitted it to anyone 'cause I haven't admitted it to myself. Just last night, I came out to my bsf, her brother, and her sister. It was scary even though I knew they didn't care, and would accept me. I went to my therapist today, and learned that I need to do this. So.. here I am.

i’ve started to feel like a bird in a cage as of late

you clipped my wings, forced me into a cage small enough it squeezed my sides and snatched away what little oxygen i had left

you gave the other birds beautiful cages, coated with floral life and big enough to suit at least a dozen others, you even let them out most of the time

you let me out sometimes, for a few minutes maybe, and when you did i would be praised, you would tell me how good i was

you always apologized for my cage, you promised that i would get a bigger one some day

but as days and nights passed, as i watched your love bloom for my siblings, i had only felt more neglected, the time spent outside of my cramped enclosure grew smaller

but i kept hoping, waiting for those few minutes you’d allow me

but then you stopped

i told myself it was my fault, that my wings were smaller or my songs were not as beautiful

and then one day you forgot to lock my prison

i’ve realized now, if the others enclosures could fit a dozen, could i not have joined them?

maybe it wasn’t my fault

21. A random fact: I fell asleep in a makeup chair once, to be fair it was very comfy and the woman very nice, very calming presence. I also ate a lightbulb once and did not got cut (did not swallow it) According to my mom i once stripped to win an argument and did in fact win, stunned the other speechless (i was a small kid tho).

24. tattoos i want: oh i definitely want as much covered as possible, filling up my right sleeve with more eyes but make them bleeding galaxies instead of rotting flesh, my left arm i have plans to make a colourful sleeve with a certain rat cardinal, mothman in victorian style clothing portrait style with a frame, a friends drawing in her style, surrounded by colourful clouds (bright, greens, blues, violets), a wolpertinger (a bavarian mystical creature, similar to a jackalope but with wings, usually duck wings)

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

Sticky - How even though he deals with a lot of anxiety and fear, he is still shown as a strong character who loves his friends and is willing to stand up for them. He is more than his brain, and while that is a part of him, it's a tool at his disposal, not his whole identity <3

Reynie - This kid is anything but average. He may feel like it, but there is so much more to him and, as a kid who always felt average and boring, that meant a lot to me <3

Kate - How brave she is! Not just in fighting and protecting, but against emotional things that really scare her. It takes a lot of courage to stay when you've been running your whole life <3

Constance - She loves her family so much, and I simply adore that her personality isn't changed to show that. You can be a snarky little poet and still love your people with your whole heart; the two aren't mutually exclusive <3
