#they do have funky powers of shapeshifting
Note
You mentioned you were from the middle east so i am going to start terrorizing your askbox /aff
(I don't want to accidentally disrespect the culture genies originate from)
ehehehe
yep, 2nd generation immigrant here! Grew up in a middle eastern household, so I know a lil bit! feel free to ask whatever you like :) I put some general info in the tags if you wanna look into that
#asks#ehehehe#dude I'm so excited for this au#you have no idea I'm literally SHAKING#okay so the terms genie stems from the arabic word 'jinn'#which is essentially a word for a creature born from fire#they're a bit like humans in the manner that they have free will (unlike angels) and can be good or bad#(and yes jinns are an islamic religious aspect but I'm kinda more agnostic so I'm goin with story part here)#thing is they're more tied in with nature and the elements#they are hidden from the human eye (religious part here is that they can either watch over humans like angels)#(or side with the devil and whisper in the ears of man)#(kinda like how genies do in stories!)#they're kinda seen as inferior to man? (religiously they were the 'failed' creation of god and that's why humans were made)#(well sort of)#in stories (ex: one thousand and one nights which is actually a pretty interesting read) they do interact with humans#in said interactions they're known to be clever#but are also pretty easy to trick#which is pretty handy considering most stories with jinn portray them as evil#even though a lot of them are actually just lil guys doin whatever#they do have funky powers of shapeshifting#they're also really strong!#some people think they can possess humans#not too sure abt that one tho#also if you were wondering abt clothing it kinda depends on the setting#cuz if you're doing this in like the heart of the middle east their outfits are gonna be a bit less revealing#but in places like persia and turkey it's abt accurate (albeit more sleeve and shoulder coverings cuz culture and religion of the time)#richer people wore brighter colors#and satin or silks were seen as a sign of luxury#while poorer people wore duller simpler clothing

I rrrrrrreeeeaaalllllyyyy need marvel to mess around with the whole humans are deathworlders thing cause so far the aliens we got in the MCU are:
Skrulls
Chitauri
Titans (Thanos)
Kree
Asgardians & the other Nine Realms (Frost Giants, etc.)
and then some other things that have less representation but still there:
Gamora
Groot
Drax
Yondu
Howard the Duck???
but anyways, as far as the Chitauri, Skrulls, and Kree (and also Thanos’ children), humans are far less technologically advanced; the Chitauri are controlled from a mothership, which as bad strategy as it is, it’s still a lot more advanced than the tech on Earth. Humans are also looked down upon by everyone from Thanos to Loki to the Kree. Skrulls are shapeshifters, need I say more. The Asgardians are literally gods with magic powers that live for thousands of years and have enhanced strength. Ebony Maw can do neat magic with his hands, and he also has those funky needles that he was poking at Strange with in Infinity War. But I want to see another alien species in the MCU where the characters realize that they are afraid of humans; but not because of tales of the Avengers or Captain Marvel or because the humans are protected by the Gods of Asgard. They’re afraid of humans because it’s built in, because the humans are apex predators. Or maybe the aliens slowly realize that they should fear the humans, once they see the pack bonding and the incredible stamina, and the weird sixth sense of feeling when someone’s watching you. Idk I just think that would be really neat

New AU: Combining the Hunter is raised in human realm and Vee is raised in human realm AUs
Tumblr media
(Vee looks different because she’s disguised as a random scout)
[ID: It’s a comic with characters from The Owl House. First panel: Boots run over red grass. Text: Hunter: “Cmon, cmon!” Second panel: Owlbert’s wing is visible. A bag with “human treasure” written on it is in the middle. Text: Eda: “Nice haul, Owlbert. Hey! Get away from my door!”
Third panel: A hand holds the door frame. On one side, there’s rain. Text: Hunter: “This way!” Fourth panel: A marigold under the rain. Text: Vee: “Hunter, where are we?” Fifth panel: Vee’s arm is around Hunter. She has brown skin and red hair. Her ears are visible. Hunter is in his Golden Guard uniform without a mask. They both have scratches and tears in their clothing. Text: Hunter: “I think… we’re in the human realm.” Luz: “Mami! I hear something!” End ID.]
Lore dump under cut (there’s a lot)
Maybe about 4 years precanon Hunter is just hanging out and meets Vee and they become best friends (but he definitely doesn’t see her as a little sister because that’d be ridiculous and he’s not at all attached). About 2 years precanon the kiddos are just hanging out when Belos finds them and stuff gets bad. They run but Belos has to keep it low key so the people wont know he’s a bitch. Vees disguise is just based on a scout but due to limited magic she still has spots, ears, etc. They find Eda selling her human trash and Vee thinks it’s a great idea to hide behind this funky looking door with the rain behind it. And then, oh my titan, the rain doesn’t boil. Hunter figures out they’re in the human realm.
Luz (who’s maybe about 12?) finds a pointy eared boy with pink eyes and a shapeshifter so this is the best day of her life. But they’re injured! She calls her Mami who is very confused but she sees hurt kids and is like mine now. So now she’s got these magic children on the run from a mysterious realm. Neat. Through the power of plot armor (idk) they’re officially adopted. They take time to warm up to Camila but they take to Luz instantly.
Luz has 2 magic siblings so she’s even more into fantasy now. So, reality check camp. The principal is meaner because this girl is constantly sneaking her homeschooled siblings into school. So yeah, summer camp. Hunter and Vee are not happy but not really confident enough to tell Camila that. So they wait with their sister for the bus.
Then! An owl comes! Luz starts chasing it and then they start chasing her. Hunter and Vee recognize the isles and possibly Eda. They’re all freaked out but Luz is like, yay! Now we can figure out where you’re from! This is like a side mystery. They do the regular adventures but with noceda sib bickering. Occasionally there’s curiosity in finding Hunter and Vees mysterious parents they’re being vague about and not really being helpful.
In AOAW, Hunter and Vee are being really weird about skipping the field trip but okay, they’re weird all the time. Maybe there’s a mini adventure of them bringing Amity her homework or something. So in YBOS they gotta save Eda. This is a horrible idea but sure why not. Luz’s siblings are being especially mean to Lilith even though she’s trying to be better. Luz doesn’t like her either but like why are they being so mean?
In that part where they find Belos her siblings are so scared but then he grabs them. Luz tries to get them but he takes them to some other room. Oh titan. She does the whole biz but doesn’t find her siblings so she’s very scared.
Meanwhile! Vee is returned to the Conformitorium. Belos doesn’t really have anyone to refill his supplies so he kinda needs her and Hunter. He locks Hunter in his old room and gives him an ultimatum. He does his old duties as GG or else he’ll replace him and Vee. He can’t escape during missions because Vees still at the Conformitorium.
In Separate Tides, Hunter catches up Luz and King on the ship and then Eda robs it. They clarify things, figure things out, etc. So Luz has isn’t entirely reunited with her siblings but she knows where they are. She probably tells Willow, Gus, and Amity, too.
In Hunting Palismen, they free the palismen and defest Kiki so, high on power, they break Vee out. They kinda sorta come home at they same time as Eda and King do with the wood so that’s an interesting conversation. So the next few eps are the same but with siblings and more trauma. Maybe Hunter and Willow also get together in knock knock knockin or maybe not. Maybe during then Vee thinks about a pretty enby they knew in the human realm. There’s also lumity here and there because lumity. Eclipse Lake Belos never gets the key but they only use half the blood and the key is taken Post hollow mind when the EC takes the owl house. Yesterdays Lie has all 3 Nocedas talking to Camila who does know they’re missing in this one. Cue depressing reunion. ASIAS is just silly kids play sports. Maybe there’s a small run in with the EC. In E&E, Luz is extra sus of phil especially with his drawing (of her ‘mano???) but the others stay home to meet del.
Hollow Mind! Night market incident where they just… bump into the traitors. Oops. Still just Luz and Hunter now with less bickering over if Belos is evil because y’know they know. At the end Hunter still runs so Labyrinth Runners can still happen. Vee is there for the whole “you’re a titan, King” deal and comforts him because she gets it. She’s been there.
The siblings reunite in COTH and there’s some minor changes in with Vee in the Belos fight and maybe she goes back to the demon realm with them? (It also makes sense if she isn’t ready). Plot wise it’s the same after Kings Tide but Camilas closer with Hunter and Vee (calling them mijo and mija more, etc.) and sadder because all her kids were missing and there wasn’t really a doppelgänger so she knew they were gone the whole time.
I hope at least some of this made sense :)

Both Djinn and Oni are seen as evil in the show but they don’t necessarily have to be. I wonder if there’s a Dragon-adjacent species in the Realms? If I squint, you can put Arin who’s Oni-coded with Lloyd’s old helmet or whatever with Nya and Sora with…whoever. But she’s Dragon-coded, AND Creation coded to Arin’s hypothetical Destruction. If I squint really hard I swear you can give Arin a character arc with Nya there’s gotta be more than just them not having any real powers at the start of the show.
I feel like my certified big brain bestie @nyaskitten would also enjoy this ask (and probably with WAY more coherence than me) so I'm inviting them to the party as well.
Before Raine shows up, here's my handful of assorted thoughts about this ask (under the cut for DRS1 spoilers:)
Regarding the Oni-Djinn-Dragon spectrum you imply and that I am about to run away with: what if the djinn are actually the MIDPOINT of that hypothetical range? I'm suggesting this because our sample size for djinn is so small right now (in order of appearance we ONLY have Jackass Supreme, Mr. Expo-Dump-And-Die, and Arrakore (who I do not yet have a funny summarizing nickname for because he's got like ten minutes of screentime under his belt), which isn't enough for me to extrapolate from) and we really don't have a TON of information to suggest that they lean one way or another as a collective. (Obviously if we get a montage of a bunch of resurrected djinn proving that Arrakore is the outlier by, I dunno, committing grand tax fraud or something, THEN we can make an overall assumption.) They do, however, display visual indicators of both Oni and Dragon - Nadakhan's finale evil magic ball things are destruction purple and Arrakore's magic manifests as bright creation gold - and generally otherworldly powers, although we don't know how universal they are. Nadakhan is the only one we ever see using most of the non wish-granting abilities like shapeshifting and teleportation (that reminds me, I still need to get that magic gatekeeping theory out!), but I'd assume that that early Skybound line where all Kai knows of djinn is that they're "sneaky and have great power" probably means this isn't a one-off thing. Anyway, back on track - I do agree that the djinn lean towards the Oni side given what little we've seen so far, but that evidence field is so small that any hint of Dragon coding in there could tip it. And Arrakore might not have done much yet, but I do think he's contributing to the Dragon side and dragging their alignment closer to the middle of the scale.
Regarding the Arin thing: I fully agree that Arin could have a killer connection with Nya right now, but I actually like that his arc is a bit disconnected from the rest of the team at the moment! Ninjago has always had a funky problem of shoving protagonists into relationships straight off the bat, whether that be romantic or not, so it's interesting that Arin's a bit emotionally isolated. He's very much trying to sort himself out, which isn't something I really remember getting in the first fifteen seasons. I feel like that's going to be a huge part of season 2 and I'm really curious to see how it's handled! Too curious to speculate, really, but that might change later, and I do love what you're going for here.
That was kind of a mess, but I hope it made some sense! Thanks for the ask!

if the halo allows ava to phase through walls -> that means the halo is capable of doing funky shit with ava’s atoms arrangement or something -> means that it can possibly use that ability to let ava shapeshift slightly to have the gendered appearance they want at any given time -> ava gets to have peak gender hours anytime
i was actually thinking of the halo giving her special little guy powers that does let ava change her appearance a little bit so like [shakes your hand]

I'm pretty sure I'm the first to ask this so yay
What do the characters with superpowers/inhuman abilities (The Doctor, Teacher etc.) do if they ever get out of control like, say, if the Teacher's neck somehow starts stretching on it's own or something?
Did an Opinions on Their Powers prompt eons ago. But, for this...
The Maw
Six: She honestly has the hardest time controlling her powers. She doesn't like asking for help, even if that's the best idea. The best thing she can do is literally eat everything in sight the Lady: Rarely loses control, even when things get too stressful. If she ever feels her magic getting funky, she'll probably go to the Granny for help the Granny: With what little power she has left, the Granny knows when she feels off. Her usual recovery is just sleep it off, or watch a few tv shows to chill the Runaway Kid: Freaks the fudge out when he can no longer understand the Nomes. He won't ask anyone for help since everyone thinks his ability is weird, so he's fixing himself on his own. But in the meantime, he's coming up with an alternative way to speak to his Nomies
Pale City
Mono: Believe it or not, Mono doesn't lose control on his powers often. The one power he has the hardest time controlling is the world bending one. He's warped cluttered rooms on accident before and just leaves them there... the Teacher: She takes very good care of herself and her neck. She has to, or else she'll be in pain for days. As soon as she feels a twinge in her neck, she's seeing the Doctor about it the Doctor: Probably the only person that doesn't quite understand his abilities, as he just does stuff. So, when gravity actually works on him, he stares at the ceiling dumbfounded. In a couple of minutes or hours, his powers will work again; and he's still not sure why the Thin Man: Like the Lady, he doesn't lose control ever. There was a time he tried to be more powerful by allowing the Eyes to full assimilate into him. It became too painful, and it was one of the few times he slept to recover
The Nest
the Butler: Loses control as often as he gets a headache, which is frequent. He knows what to do and forces himself to go rest in a cool, dark room the Pretender: While she's still working mastery her abilities, she's learned that her dissipation powers work on organic material. When she sees that she accidentally evaporated a hairbrush or a doll, she runs to the Butler for help. She has a pair of special gloves that nullify her powers, and that's the only thing that works
Extras
the Humpback Girl: Won't know her powers are out of wack until she passes by a mirror. Things either start falling out of them or something tries to grab her. She'll run and hide, since she didn't want these powers in the first place and this is the best she can do the Forked Boy: Thinks it's funny that he keeps multiplying until there's about 100 of him. He's discovered that his clones have a low pain tolerance, so he and his clones brawl it out until there's one left
the Ferryman: It's safe to say that none of the master lose control of their powers often, but have in the past. For the Ferryman, he's accidentally shapeshifted into something he didn't intend because of an illness. Depending on what it is, he'll take cover and rest until he can be his old, yellow, saggy self again the Mirror Man: Doesn't lose control of his powers, per se, but losing control of the Mirror Dimension. He can just feel something slip away from him and he looks into it quickly. After that, he's back to spying on people from the other side the North Wind: Loses control when embarrassed, flustered, or angered; and you DON'T want that to happen. They're too powerful when they're fine. An out of control North Wind is exactly like watching a tornado race across the land, but it's every weather phenomenon at full force
The Nowhere Peeps
Low: Knows his powers don't/stopped working when he runs headfirst into a mirror and nothing happens. Kind of pouts and waits until his powers come back, but doesn't know why they stopped at inconvenient times

so i have been writing my ideal version of season 14 in my head laying awake at night for weeks now and someone else needs to hear about it before i go insane. so.
concepts that would make miss ruby sunday ✨interesting and spicy✨ without going against the evidence we already have:
she is from the near future (2046 possibly?? i heard that year floating around in relation to robert ap gwillam)
she is from the further future, potentially WAY further, but was sent back in time by weeping angels hence her seemingly modern clothing. also this makes way for a weeping angels episode. you’re welcome.
she either has splinters like clara or there is a spatial genetic multiplicity thing going on (like with gwen cooper and gwyneth), and she exists in multiple time periods (eg, 60s and regency like we have seen in promo photos)
she is some kind of creation of jinkx monsoon’s character or “the duchess”. we don’t know anything about these characters but they are described as “the doctors most powerful enemy yet” and “beware the duchess”. i think creating a companion would be a pretty cool thing for a villain to do (and would probably end in utter tragedy, in the interest of fucking the doctor up, which is always fun)
she is a zygon, other alien or even a time lord who thinks she is human living on earth. i have thought about this and it’s my absolute favourite. there is potential for a queer / outsider allegory which is always great (i don’t belong here, i feel like i’m hiding, etc). she can still be from the modern era, but would have a unique perspective and presence on the show due to actually not being from earth. if a zygon, she would be able to shapeshift, a helpful and never-before-seen skill to have on adventures with loads of fun possibilities. and it would just make the whoniverse feel interconnected, not just retconning important world events with “time can be rewritten” but actually acknowledging that yeah, there are zygons living on earth! remember that? now that ive thought about it, i really want this option…
she is actually from the 1960s or the regency era, and we are seeing it out of sync and/or assuming based on promo stuff that her modern clothing is her everyday clothing and the historical stuff is just for funsies. i would love a 60s companion because a character from the time of the shows creation next to a black doctor?? what a fucking boss move it would be so awesome
she is mia tyler. im adding this because it’s popular, but people are really grasping at straws here in my opinion and i just… don’t like this idea? if mia tyler ever appears i want them to make it damn well clear, at least with foreshadowing and stuff. i’m going into season 14 wanting new and fresh and original. not supernatural nostalgia-bait soap opera shit. “I’M YOUR DAUGHTER FROM ANOTHER UNIVERSE” gimme a break i don’t like this one
she’s a unit or torchwood agent. this could actually be real! i like this one it’s fun, we know there’s gonna be a unit episode including kate stewart, why not have her be involved? love me a badass spy lady, plus it could open up martha jones and spin-off opportunities so….
she’s a secret villain. very broad and vague i know, but it’s never happened before and the shock horror twist of it all would just be so awesome, especially because millie has a background in soap operas lmao
her timeline is funky in some way. maybe she’s like river song, maybe she’s like clara, maybe she’s stuck in a time loop or is from an alternate universe or there’s something very wrong about the events of her life that means timey wimey stuff ensues
she’s a time lord / gallifreyan and possibly a relative of the doctor. possibly linked to susan in some way, or an otherwise relative of the doctor’s. a secret sibling (again, millie gibson’s soap opera background!!), his child / susan’s parent, someone linked to the doctors daughter jenny, etc etc
she’s a time agent. the idea of time agents is really cool but woefully unexplored, we only ever meet jack and john and sure you can’t beat the wives but i want to see the full potential of them, there’s so much you could do
if you can think of any more, please do share in tags and comments i wanna know other ways i can get my hopes up way too high!! :))

I wanna speculate on this cg that iz posted on twitter as a teaser for wilardo’s conclusion. I wish I could find the og tweet because I’m pretty sure they posted other teaser cgs along with it but it’s so old now :(
anyway! I have three ideas for what’s going on with this possible new demon:
1. paralleling wilardo’s scenario, claire gets cursed and possessed by a demon as a result. (I think the demon possessing her is lucy, the horned hater demon who runs the deep sea fantasy space shop with coco, which I’ll get into)
- it looks like this demon possesses claire’s entire body instead of just her mouth like invective did, considering her entire color palette changed instead of just her eye color, and the demon appears to be in control of claire’s hand in this cg.
- I think the skin tone is of note because, while it can be inconsistent and difficult to notice, rouge and zizel are often portrayed with unnatural paper-white skin tones, probably because they’re purebred demons. claire is still pale-skinned here obviously but she’s not literally the color white, so while that doesn’t prove anything I think it’s slightly more likely that a hater demon is possessing claire?
that leads us to why I think it’s lucy!
Tumblr media
- in wilardo’s scenario, zizel reads claire a scary story about a depopulating town that sacrifices it’s residents for prosperity. this is a weirdly irrelevant scene until bonus stage when the deep sea shop becomes accessible. the bookshelves in the shop tell you (when playing as sirius/ashe) lucy’s backstory: that she was sacrificed for the prosperity of a depopulating town. as we’ve established, wilardo’s conclusion is probably going to parallel his scenario from the first game. wouldn’t it be fitting for lucy to become relevant in wilardo’s conclusion since her backstory was revealed in his scenario?
- when lucy introduces herself, she says she’s “in charge of cuteness”. similarly to how invective wanted claire’s body because she desired beauty, maybe lucy wants claire’s body so she can be cuter?
- lucy’s general vibes suit the demon seen in the teaser cg pretty well. in the above sprite she has the exact same expression but with her eyes closed and I think her manner of speaking matches up pretty well too
- the cg shows claire with funky eyes. we haven’t seen lucy’s eyes yet so who knows what they look like!
- this is all a huge reach I just want lucy to be important because she’s silly and I like her
2. this cg isn’t of claire at all, it’s of a demon that’s shapeshifted to look like claire for some reason
- something that points to this cg not actually being of claire at all is that it takes place in hell. as far as I can remember claire never visits hell except for when she dies and when zizel transports her and sirius there so they can finally leave the mansion. perhaps this is a new demon introducing themself to the other demons?
- if this is true, I doubt it’s a hater demon as they aren’t very powerful. (charlotte couldn’t even wipe claire’s memories of noel correctly lol) but, since the purebred demons were never human, we can assume that their appearances are simply based off of how they want to look, so I don’t think it’s that far-fetched to say that they can shapeshift. -if we’re going with the idea that this a shapeshifting purebred, it could be a purebred we haven’t met before, but I feel like it’d be weird if there were purebred demons other than rouge and zizel in the mansion? and I don’t see rouge being behind this so that leaves zizel.
- zizel so far has not been an antagonist and is probably the least malicious of the demons even though she still takes joy in human suffering. however, she does like screwing around with claire in ultimately harmless but freaky ways (ex: russian roulette) so I could potentially see her doing this for… some reason??
- it’s also of note that zizel is wilardo’s associated demon, but this hasn’t really come up at all yet? like, zizel’s consistently a relevant character throughout all the wh games because she’s claire’s pact partner and support, but she doesn’t get any more screentime than usual in wilardo’s scenario unlike the other demons in their respective scenarios. lime, being sirius’s associated demon, gets the most screentime in sirius’s conclusion, so I think it’d be cool if that was true for zizel in wilardo’s conclusion as well.
3. claire looks and acts strange in this cg because she’s under some other kind of curse that doesn’t involve possession
- I don’t have much to say here I just wanted to throw the possibility out there! this would also parallel wilardo’s scenario (and wilardo himself) but it would be a different kind of curse.
that’s it, thank you for reading this far! I was just thinking about what the hell’s going on in this cg while I was redrawing it (that art is scheduled to post tomorrow I think?) but I didn’t realize I would be able to ramble about it for this long

Heya,
I really like all the ideas you have for the Quarry gang in different AUs, like the superpowers or lingering werewolf changes.
But if each one of them was a different mystical/paranormal creature in hiding, who do you think would be what? Like maybe Max and Laura would still be werewolves, but we could have a vampire, harpy, kelpie, mermaid etc.
Can either be classic monsters or mythological creatures in hiding.
Thanks for the awesome content!
HERE WE GO
I apologize for how long it took me to answer this I rly needed to think about it.
I wanted to stick with a kinda spooky theme for all of them while also picking things that I felt matched with their vibes but I'm so happy with these.
Almost all of these creatures murder people for fun but we're going Teen Wolf style where these funky kids are doing their best not to murder anyone because they don't want to, also they're in hiding.
Also turned this into a full-on story Au. Apparently I can't help myself.
👇 The Quarry counselors as mythical creatures in hiding 👇
Max&Laura
I love the idea of them still being werewolves. And I love the headcanon of them being a cryptid hunting duo even more and I think that's where they all meet in this universe. I say that like I have the ability to write a fanfic. I do not. But I'll obsess anyway.
They're both werewolves, though they look more furry than the game designs. Still big and freaky but not as gobliny
They get paid to investigate "mysterious deaths" typically caused by creatures posing as humans. They probably get paid by Travis who's just a human cop who knows that monsters exist and hide among humans and needs a way to get rid of them without seeming like a crazy person. They hunt down said creatures and that's how they meet the others.
They're all innocent but Laura and Max need to scope out their vibes before they can find the things actually repsonsible.
Emma
Emma was the first one I thought of because there's so many hot monster ladies who kill men and she just has that vibe to her, but also I was looking for a real specific energy for the love of my life.
Lamia in Greek mythology are half snake half women who eat kids. They also seduce men and convince them to give them their kids and then kill the men too. They're known to pose as performers to get attention and scope out vulnerable targets and lure them in with their ethereal beauty.
They're basically spicy land mermaids and that's on being hot. Though they're technically a type of demon. Like I said, hot.
Some stories pitch them to have mind control abilities as an alternative to seducing their victims. They can also straight up induce fear to make people leave them alone or just outright scare them to death.
They can shapeshift to change their size to be like an eight feet tall monster snake lady and also shed the snake skin to just be hot human ladies. They can see into the future and they practice witchcraft 😌🤌💕
Emma is just the local beautiful woman™. She definitely still has a YouTube channel or a Tiktok account and sometimes does her scarily accurate tarot card readings. She just lives her life doin whatever because it's pretty easy for her the hide. She travels a lot because she wants to see what the world has to offer but this makes her suspicious to the lil hunting duo who assume she's roaming around leaving bodies behind.
Laura and Max find her minding her own business. Maybe she did kill someone but if Emma was killing anyone, they definitely deserved it.
Abi
For Abi I almost went with something cutesy but I was also leaning towards something ghosty related because of how much contact she has with Eliza in the game. I just wanted her to be powerful but completely unaware of it, like it was something dormant she had to unlock and I actually had two that are basically the same thing but with very different aesthetics.
Banshees are fairy/spirit ladies who appear when you are close to death. If you can hear her wails it means someone you know is going to die or you're going to be in danger sometime soon.
Dullahan's are also fairies and are also omens of death but they're headless (lol) and ride around on horses holding their magic heads that can see massively long distances. Both are rad but I'm sticking with Banshee for now which is also a Teen Wolf thing.
She can disorient you with her scream and deafen you if you're close enough. Tinnitus all around. They also have visions of the future. (blygbank fortune teller duo)
Eventually she works out how to see and talk to ghosts but for most of her life she's just plagued with confusing dreams and gets weird feelings in certain places that later turn out to be haunted, and around certain people who end up dying shortly after.
Abi doesn't know about her powers she just thinks she has the worst luck. Every now and then, she'll go somewhere and she'll see someone get hit by a car or spontaneously have a heart attack. She aimlessly goes for walks and always ends up near where an ambulance is parked in front of someone's house or on the side of the road. Because she's always around the scenes of crimes, Laura and Max think she's their target but they eventually see that's not the case.
She's subconsciously using her powers and I think Laura and Max are the ones who tell her that she's a banshee when they realise that she's clueless and definitely not a serial murderer.
Ryan
For Ryan I was thinking along the lines of mythical creatures who kept to themselves/had some kind of camoflauge or shapeshifting abilities but most of them were tiny chaotic creatures or things that seduced humans to kill them and none of that matches up with Ryan
Then I read about djinn/jinn/genies and they seemed more like what I was looking for.👀
They're typically reclusive, only interacting with humans they deem to be wise/intelligent enough to offer their power to. They're antisocial and picky about their company just like our good good boy.
But more specifically I was thinking Ryan would be a half-djinn. Since Djinn are invisible, wispy beings with god-like powers associated with demons since they can possess humans. But their offspring pass as slender, pretty humans. Which is kinda boring but I think his eyes glow and he gets all these coloured tattoos all over him if he's in his djinn form 😌🤌
Their powers are limited to shapeshifting and psychic-like abilities where they can make humans hallucinate, experience false realities and basically just mess with their minds in general. They can also see into or interfere with humans dreams like Djinn. But Djinn cause sleep paralysis and try to possess sleeping humans.
But since Ryan canonically has one (or two depending on your hc) absent parents. It matches up with a human getting down with a potentially evil being and having a funky magic baby.
Ryan mainly uses his powers to avoid people. He's not out looking to make people go crazy by breaking their brains, he just doesn't want to be cornered into a conversation with an acquaintance when he's trying to do his grocery shopping. So he'll do some minor mind-fucking to make them forget they saw him.
It also makes it SUPER hard for Laura and Max to find him. The first time one of them try to approach him, he instinctively makes them forget him because he's too shy to talk to strangers and then they have to start from square one again. Then they come back and accuse him of messing with their brain and he gets nervous, so he messes with their brains again.
Djinn also have the silver weakness and can be killed or trapped inside anything made of silver. So there's something in common with Laura and Max. Also it's super funny to think about them trying to get proof that he's a djinn by using silver while trying to not touch it themselves.
Dylan
I really wanted something intelligence or music related for my sweet boy and as I was searching GUESS WHAT I LEARNT
Sirens! Were originally! depicted as half-BIRD MEN! Who hung out on big rocks in the middle of the ocean and sang or played music. The stories varied between them doing it to cause mischief and get sailors killed or lost at sea. Or singing to warn sailors travelling through fog that were was stuff to hit their boat on or that a storm was coming. Then later they added lady sirens (or stories with lady sirens got more popular) and stories of them exclusively trying to lure sailors in with their voices to kill them started up. Then they changed it to fish people, then some boring asshole decided that it was just female sirens who lured men to their death. Probably some lame ass who didn't want to be lured to his death by a hot man. But I'm not a coward so I'm going with the OG lore.
The idea of Dylan with wings does in fact, make me go feral. Maybe he just has wings or maybe he gets feathers on his arms and bird feet when he's not in human form but either way he's ethereal. He has super soft hair. Beautiful bird boy.
He uses his charm powers mostly for his own gain, occasionally to help his friends out. If he gets lonely he'll go somewhere and hum or whistle a song and people will immediately come over to him and talk to him 🥰 He makes music and anyone who hears it feels compelled to reach out to him in some way. He has used it to get money many times and he'll do it again. But he doesn't make people fall in love with him because that's where his morals kick in. He doesn't use his powers to kill people, he just likes the attention. Because you can't convince me that if Dylan had the ability to make people pay attention to him, he wouldn't abuse the hell out of it.
I imagine that creatures with mind control-esq abilities are immune to his charm and he gets real mopey about it. Not because he's run into a potentially dangerous creature but because he got rejected and he's not used to that.
I think he singles out Max and lures him in because he's smart and figured out Max and Laura were tracking him. Cue Laura going to save her bf and her and Dylan recreating that picture of the cat with the shit-eating grin surrounded by knives (Laura's holding the knives)
I have another similar one for Dylan but Sirens are more noteable so I went with that.
Kaitlyn
I wasn't sure about Kaitlyn. My only prerequisite was that it had to be dope. I wanted to find some way to make her a dragon then I remembered wyverns were a thing and I saw stars.
The difference between dragons and wyverns is that wyverns are smaller and bipedal. They still walk on their hands and feet but they have hand claws instead of four legs. Some of them breathe fire, others have some kind of poison smog breath or spit acid. I can see Kaitlyn's bite and claws being poison when she's not in human form.
She has three forms. A human form, a half wyvern lady form and a full on wyvern. They're smart and like collecting/hoarding things. They're independent but inquisitive and like learning about human things which works with their interest in mechanics and engineering 😌🤌
She minds her own business and rarely goes into creature mode. She's a human 99.9% of the time because she's a responsible, tax paying member of society who doesn't feel the need to randomly use her powers for any reason. But when she does use it you better make sure you're on her side because she'll whoop your ass.
I'm also obsessed with Kaitlyn and Dylan being winged buddies. I think they met from Dylan luring her in when he was bored and once it wore off, she decided he was funny and harmless enough to not immediately kill. Now they're besties, They have to be besties in every au, I don't make the rules.
Laura and Max are real careful with tracking her because they know how tough she is and I'm debating whether they even tried to do so or not. Kaitlyn could definitely immediately tell they're werewolves and vice versa. Their animal instincts clocked each other right away. I think Kaitlyn went to them to find out why they were following her and then probably helped them find the real culprits after she scares the shit out of them.
Nick
I wanted SOMEONE to be a water dwelling creature and I had good arguments for most of them. I almost made Ryan the merman but I eventually settled on Nick.
My final decision was ultimately based on Nick being an adorable Australian shark merman since Australians are all about the beautiful beaches and swimming and the coral reef and all that good stuff.
Specifically he's a tiger shark, they have stripes down their sides, they're a little stupid and they're entirely food motivated. Like they'll swim through disaster weather just on the off-chance they'll find dead things to eat when every other species of shark swims away from the area for safety.
There's a bunch of different stories about merfolk and what they're capable of in terms of shapeshifting but I'm going with the style where they can either have the half fish body or human legs whenever they want. They can live on land for as long as they want without it affecting them physically but they do feel an urge to be near water. Which is why I think Nick is a lifeguard in his spare time. He just has the vibe of those handsome, charming lifeguards.
There are stories about how merfolk would innocently try to take humans they liked to their underwater kingdoms, which resulted in the humans drowning or their lungs crushing from the sudden change in pressure because they swim down so fast. Which is so bimbo/himbo of them tbh but it makes sense they wouldn't know humans can't breathe in both air and water like they can. But that's why Nick's a lifeguard because he's well aware these humans are fragile and they need a lot of taking care of.
They can read minds which is how they talk underwater but Nick knows not to pry. He's polite. Living on land gave him human etiquette.
He has a set of human teeth and a set of pointy shark teeth that he can retract and he's real strong. Similar to the werewolves, he can smell blood and it can potentially send him into a bit of a frenzy if he's hungry or you just catch him on a bad day mentally. Luckily he's a generally happy boy and doesn't have a lot of bad days but when he has a bad day, it's a real bad day. (Future cryptid friend group HC is that Dylan or Emma have to calm him down by charming him before he goes rabid and tried to eat someone. Same with the werewolves.)
Laura and Max absolutely hate this job because it's entirely water based. The dude is constantly in and out of water and covered in water. In the end, Max literally just walks up to Nick and chats to him about the weird deaths in the area and Nick is SO friendly and helpful and after half a conversation with him they know he's not the culprit but they DO wanna hang out with him.
Jacob
I was at a loss for Jacob, I truly just had no idea he could be. We don't have any info about his family dynamics or his interests that could spawn some train of inspiration in my head like the others do and this was sixty percent of the reason it took me so long to write this.
He has a similar energy to Abi where he just doesn't know what's going on most of the time so I played off that. Eventually I decided on him being a mythical creature by proxy. As in, he's possessed by something that turns him into a monster.
Y'all heard of a show called Teen Wolf?/sarcasm
There's a being called the Kanima which is a South American myth that involves a shapeshifter in the form of a were-jaguar. It's known as a demonic spirit that brings misfortune to everyone it's near. If you're out in the woods and you keep experiencing bad luck; tripping, stuff from trees falling on you, getting attacked by animals, it's a sign that the Kanima is after you.
It has the power to posses humans or animals and it's stare can drive the recipient insane. They have a paralyzing poisonIt can't fully suppress the consciousness of the one they're possessing unless they're asleep or knocked out. The spirit is only released if the one they're possessing dies and I think this is the final chapter in this little cryptid hunting story.
Jacob went out for a walk one day, was even more unlucky than usual and didn't come home. Kaitlyn and him are definitely still friends in this universe and she started getting concerned/suspicious when Jacob popped up the next morning acting like he didn't know what happened the previous night.
Her instincts are telling her something's wrong, she calls Laura and Max and they also can't do anything. When the Kanima reveals itself they can't get close to it because if the stare and the poison. Not only that, everything goes wrong, their car breaks down, they hurt themselves in ridiculous ways, all because of the Kanima. Kaitlyn can fight him but her poison doesn't work on him and the stare would make her go crazy.
They end up calling all their new friends to see if any of them can help. Abi's new to this, she might be able to help but she's not ready for combat. Nicks strong enough to fight it and would love to help but one look from the Kanima would make Nick go into a frenzy. Dylan could pacify and lure him in but he absolutely does not want to get close to it because he'd get messed up by the poison and the stare.
At the end of the day Emma and Ryan are also demon-esq and they're the only ones immune to the poison and insanity stare. Emma pacifys him while Ryan roots around in his mind to essentially disable the Kanima so it can't take control of Jacob anymore.
Now Jacob just has the strength and speed of the Kanima. In Teen Wolf it's like a gross lizard thing but when I look up were-jaguars, they're just these big ol' hell-demon-cats so that's what he can turn into because that's sick. Parkour time for this lad.

Any genshin headcannons or thoughts you'd like to share? :)
SDFSDFAWSFSDFSD okay so I had to sit down and think about this for all of like 5 minutes before a lightbulb went off in my head and i was like Yes. ASFSDFSDSDF Okay so prepare for the ARCHON RAMBLE (aka me creating headcanons specifically to torture Zhongli)
Okay so like, the Archons are immortal, right? Okay but we also know they're not Invulnerable. Many MANY archons have died at this point. we Know Zhongli is the only remaining original, and that's all well and good. But its fun to think about why that's physically possible. So i came up with my own system??? Kinda??? Its not very refined cause its mostly me throwing sticky hands at a wall and seeing what sticks but i have fun with it SDFSDFASFSDFSDFSDFSDF Part one of the headcanon has to do with the idea of Energy. Okay. So like. Everybody and their dog headcanons that Vision users have a certain level of energy usage they can hit before its like... they're out of energy/tired/in pain so on and so forth. So and Archon has that same threshold, its just a lot further out. On top of that, an Archon WITH A GNOSIS probably lasts a lot longer. But there's a point, regardless, where and Archon will run out of energy and then be in trouble. When we headcanon this for vision users there's usually some kind of adverse effect. And I headcanon the same for Archons. Things like, getting shaky, exhausted, physically weak, those kinds of things. Like they have terrible low blood sugar or something SDFSDFASFSDFSDFSDFSDFS They also become incapable of using their powers, because essentially they're trying to pull from a well that is dry. So essentially an Archon runs on a battery, and they can dry that battery up if they push themselves hard enough. There's some fun stuff to play with here that i've completely made up for Whumps convenience AHAHAHAAHAHA like for example. the smaller the physical mass of an Archon, they less energy they take up to "power the body" Now to be clear, if they run out of energy they are still very much physically there (although it'd be fun to play with a concept where that wasn't true) Its just that they're very physically weak/can't shapeshift/can't "use their vision" essentially. But like a battery, say Venti needs a decent sized battery to run human Venti. If he turns into a wisp his battery need becomes much smaller. Now by default an Archon has more than enough energy to run themselves no matter what form they're in, Form to battery ratio only becomes an issue if they're struggling with an energy low/leakage. Like Venti Might turn into a wisp if he's running out of power, because that moves him from nearly passing out to be okay dokay again. This is fun for all sorts of reasons AHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA Another funky headcanon I have in correlation with this is energy sharing. So like, Every vision user has the same energy an archon has, just much much smaller. And much like an Archon, they contain an excess (more than they need on average) to "run the ship". Except in a vision user's case, they're battery isn't running anything unless they're using their vision. This means that in a pinch, a vision user can pass their Vision Battery Energy to an Archon to help them out. Now the fun part is, any Archon can take any kind of Vision to recharge their battery. Zhongli can take vision energy from Childe, Diluc, Tighnari, Jean, or Itto. It doesn't matter the element. As long as Zhongli has more Natural energy of Geo left, he will slowly convert their mismatch element to his own. However. An Archon is more or less compatible with different Elements. Like Zhongli is 100% compatible with Geo. Itto could give him a Geo energy boost and its probably like getting an instantaneous energy boost. However, he is nearly 100% Incompatible with Pryo. Now Zhongli can take Pyro for recharge.. he can do that. it is just very. very. Painful. But in a pinch, sometimes the pain is better than being vulnerable. The lack of compatibility also means that an Archon takes longer to convert the incorrect element to the element of their abilities. ON TOP OF THAT If an Archon runs out of their Natural element... but they still contain an element that's not theirs... Yeah Their Body Does Not Like That. And this is all like, Archon 101 to Zhongli, but its highly likely some of the younger Archons Do Not Know xD (Zhongli probably mostly knows through trial and error on top of that SDFSDFASFSDFSDFS Celestia did not give them a manual) Other Immortal/elementally sensitive beings (Yaksha and Adepti for Example) have the ability to tap into/sense this energy. Its something they have the innate ability to do, but it takes training to do it really? Or at least in a way that's not dangerous/wild. For example Madame Ping could easily check Zhongli's energy flow/Pulse just by putting her fingers where a normal human pulse will be. They can also use things like channeling crystals to more easily/thoroughly check another person's energy flow. A vision user could probably learn to do this too, and there might be a few who do know how. But due to the fact that Archon's aren't frequently chummy with vision users (at least up to this point) its not common knowledge and most Allogenes have no idea that this is a thing. A lot of Immortals/Supernatural beings probably don't realize Allogenes can help too because they often don't know themselves lol xD Crystals of certain kinds can also be used to convert elemental energy before transferring it, that way they skip the whole like, Conversion process. Only Adepti/supernatural being healers usually know how to do this or do it in the first place. There used to be more and it was much more common knowledge Pre-Archon war. But so many different beings perished during that time, so there are a lot fewer who know its even a thing in the first place. Zhongli's been kicked around enough that probably all the Adepti know how to do it xD Transfer of energy is pretty much always only done in an emergency. An Archon or other elemental/supernatural being will replenish their energy naturally through rest and managing their health and not blowing through their remaining reserves. Even if they reach flat zero, it will start to re-accumulate as long as they take care of themselves. ASFSDDSFASFSDFSDSDFSDFSD ANYWHO THAT WAS SUCH A LONG RAMBLE. I've had a lot of fun playing around/coming up with this system as i kick around Genshin in my head like a football SDFSDFSDF so it was nice to put it into words finally :D thank you for the ask anon!! <3

Part 13 - DC Madlib Advneture
"You believe best in everyone. You self sacrifice for greater good," the anteater said. "Makes think of brothers sisters at home."
The anteater made a wistful squeak, and Jason felt pity for it. Must be a weird life getting controlled by whatever funky animal powers Cheetah now had. But believing in others and self sacrificing? Jason wasn't sure how those traits being attributed to him made him feel. There were certainly people he would be willing to do anything for, but what did this little anteater know of it?
"But Red Hood weak now," the anteater continued forlornly. "My fault. Cheetah fault. I pass knowledge onto you. You help. You save us."
The silky anteater explained that Cheetah had discovered an ancient recipe book during an archaeological dig. But it was no ordinary recipe book. It contained instructions on the ability to drain the powers of others if they ate certain foods. And in turn, those powers would become an ingredient infused into other foods that could be eaten by her in order to gain the abilities. Cheetah had already gotten the drop on a few other heroes and villains, which is how she was able to mind control them. It was also why Jason had felt so nauseous and weak. All of it was Cheetah's doing by meddling with these powers.
But like a good meal, the powers are not forever. They fade over time, which is why Cheetah must keep eating the powers of others.
Jason looked over at Tim's slender body laying in a heap in the next cage over.
"But he doesn't have any powers."
"True. But bait for Red Hood. Lure," the anteater explained. "Cheetah needs for skill..."

Genuine question, I saw a screenshot of one of your posts, and how can some trans people get euphoria from not passing? I thought to be trans you had to have some form of gender dysphoria, gender euphoria, or both. I don't mean any malice with this question, I'm just trying to understand perspectives outside my own. I've never heard of trans people getting euphoria from not passing and I would like to learn more!
i appreciate you taking the time to ask!
dysphoria is not required to be trans! i that doesn't really make much sense. i don't know where people have gotten that from over time. i think people might be getting confused with the diagnostic criteria for Gender Identity Disorder, which is not required to be trans and is pretty outdated, if you ask me. we don't have to pathologize transness to accept the validity of the experience. being trans just means identifying as a gender that differs from your assigned gender at birth, dysphoria is not a required part of the experience.
misery is not inherent to the experience for every trans person. the discomfort that comes from being misgendered is crushing and evading it is very important to some of us- but some of us simply do not care what others think about us or how they address us, and for some of us, being addressed incorrectly gives us power. some trans people just literally don't care about being misgendered, or don't view it as entirely inaccurate.
for me, confusing people is part of the experience. as someone who doesn't have a sex or gender to "pass" as, i enjoy my niche of being a funky little gender shapeshifter who nobody can seem to figure out what they are. = ) it's fun! try it some time. i literally got the most gender euphoria i've ever received in my life when someone came up to me and addressed me by "Sir? ....... Ma'am?? .... Look, I'm sorry, I can't tell."
the only "criteria" for being trans is identifying as a gender that differs from your AGAB. the rest of the experience is up to the individual trans person. some trans people may never ever get gender euphoria- many people don't! many trans people don't experience dysphoria OR euphoria and simply just have moments of gentle realization. it's not always a life-consuming experience- some trans people don't even transition! some of us do. it really just depends on the individual
some people don't have a gender to pass as- some people are nonbinary, genderqueer, crossdressers, drag performers, genderfuckers, genderfluid and gender non conforming people or have "other" genders that you can't "pass" as. hell, most of the point of genderqueer and gender non conforming identities IS to "look trans" and not pass. some people just don't care if they pass at all. i don't care if i pass, because i never will due to being intersex. there's nothing to pass as, no matter how i've tried to gender myself, it's always "wrong" in the eyes of greater society because i'm "too manly" to be a girl but "can't be a guy".
genderfuckers, nonbinary people, neutrois people, genderqueer people, gender non conforming people, and any binary trans man or woman who don't pass and don't care about passing are just as trans as anyone else. every trans person who "doesn't pass" doesn't take away from those who have to for their own safety and survival- there's as many ways to be trans as there are people on this planet! it doesn't help to force every single trans person into a box of "you have to meet all of these check boxes Or Else" and it really doesn't help to enforce the idea that trans people Have to be miserable in order to Earn their transness.
hope that helps! take care, and have a great day =)

More Dragon Marshalate AU Stuff
Post 1 Post 2 Soult's ADCs snippet napoleonic marshalate dragons au chronological tag
Answering questions because I love the sound of my own typing and then some nattering about psychic dragons which get funky because you should never trust me with worldbuilding
i'll write dragon snippets for the other dragon marshals i just am easily baited into writing stuff based on what people say to me
@impetuous-impulse
If Desirée is a dragon, then her sister Julie and her niece, Honorine Anthoine de Saint-Joseph, would also be dragons. This would mean that Joseph Bonaparte and Marshal Suchet both married dragons.
Checks out! I think if we do turn a bunch of people into dragons but leave a bunch of people as human, and we don't want to break history too unbelievably in this era, we are probably going to have to treat dragon-marriage as equivalent to human marriage. But then some of the humans can also be simultaneously dragon married and human married probably.
Also, thinking of the Clary clan as some kind of urban dragon family is kind of funny.
i also love the idea of urban dragons, they'd have to be fairly small but yes
but also im going to babble a bit about psychic powers and how urban dragons miiiight work maybe
Other question: are the dragons ladies subject to similar constraints as human ladies in this era?
I want to say nope! Which probably raises more questions about the ladies that we've turned into dragons, but as I've written, dragons have no physical sex, any two dragons can make eggs, both dragons get sleepy and broody after having eggs.
---
@josefavomjaaga
Also, now I wonder if maybe, this whole "shapeshifting into a human" thing is something that all/most dragons might be able to learn. […] Unless of course they want to be closer to their favourite humans… Okay, so admittedly I just want to see Soult getting desperate over trying to learn shapeshifting so he can be with Louise 😋.
The younger and smaller dragons can learn enough dexterity with their claws to flip the pages of a book, to manipulate a quill, to peruse their own correspondence privately. The larger ones boast more strength and fire, flying higher but not further, but their claws that can take down horses and monsters with a single slash lose the precision for such delicate affairs.
Perhaps that is why the dragon Soult, once called "Jean-de-Dieu" by his family, admires the paintings he is so well known for collecting. No dragon as he can craft such deft and delicate brush strokes.
It is in the presence of these paintings that he asks his ADCs to place the letters before him, so he may read with eyes as sharp as an eagle's sight. But he must ask them to turn the pages, and he must ask them to draft his replies, and ever since the dragon grew beyond the size of a horse he has been so very frustrated with this lack of privacy.
But he must do with what he can.
Today it is Saint-Chamans at his side, and Saint-Chamans can hardly hide his confusion as he reads the letter. "Your excellency, this is a children's tale- why are you asking after such things?"
The great maroon dragon lets out a huff of hot air. He is not interested either in fairy stories and children's games, but… There is a line of inquiry I am pursuing personally.
He does have his valet perform this job for him, often. He does not strictly need the ADCs to do this.
But the valet is friendly with Louise, and he cannot have her worry.
And if there is a chance that one day he may come up to her and embrace her as an equal, then he must pursue it.
----
Thought process here:
Dragons in Pern are telepathic as in they communicate by speaking in your head -> to really differentiate this AU from Temeraire, we can focus more on Weird Magic but not to the extent that it's Extremely High Fantasy -> telepathy can be extrapolated to other things -> how do we get large dragons participating in city life????
So
Dragons here can telepathically communicate with people that they can see and that are in a small radius around them, equivalent to shouting at them
Dragons with their favourite people can extend that reach further and can communicate with them even without seeing them in that extended reach
Berthier Dragon is a weirdo who has managed to have a very large range with people he isn't connected to and can also multitask a little bit so he's. like a phone operator. yes this does change a bunch of things to have that instant feedback but I think both he and Napoleon are aware of the dangers of relying on a single tiny dragon
(obviously berthier dragon is. in love with madam visconti. and has a shrine to her.)
But what if dragons with their favourite people can not just pass on their communications but other senses
It may depend on the dragon? Some can send impressions of the emotions they feel, some can send sensory information, but also it might be fun if the human can send stuff back
this is a little funky but I am imagining that some dragon-human pairs can have this weird kind of consensual possession thing going on where the dragon "rides" along with the human's senses
So human cities are not really built for really large dragons - the edges of the city do have dragon and human accommodations, but only dragons horse sized and smaller can really go into the middle of the city
The "riding along" or weird possession thing is basically, large dragons who are too big to go into cities and ballrooms can "ride along" with their favourite people and experience things like extremely expensive balls
To prevent this from being used for spycraft too much, maybe the possessed person's eyes turn the colour of the dragon's
this is kinda creepy and weird but i think it can be romantic, and of course the possessed person can stop the possession at any time, the dragon doesn't actually have control over the human's actions and can only just experience sensory input and telepathically speak to them, so the human has to convey what the dragon's saying

@krueger4eva said: What do you think of trope of characters gaining powers that relate to their personalities? For example, Violet in “The Incredibles” is a shy wallflower and has the ability to be invisible. Or Camilo in “Encanto” whose gift is shapeshifting but has trouble figuring out who he really is.
Tumblr media
I mean. It’s good?? that’s just good character writing on Violet’s part. but Camilo didn’t actually have that plot line in canon, that’s just how most people write him in fanon. His powers are shapeshifting because his name is Camilo, like a chameleon. it’s great that people give him that headcanon, but really he’s just a funky little freewheeling guy in the movie.

TftW: How To Be A Hamon User.
Lisa Lisa (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure) TG
Nathan Forester wasn't very big on anime transformations…well, he occassionally did do Pokemon and Digimon and Dragon Ball ones but there was a specific rule in which he stated if he has to do an anime tf, it has to be one he was familiar with and on his tumblr page there had been a bunch of questions about Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, initially he never understood the show or the manga, he wanted to see it but didn't have a crunchyroll account, he had a netflix account but it wasn't paid for, money was never his speciality. He knew a selection of things about the show but wasn't entirely familiar with it, he knew about the 'stands' and also the theme naming aspect and of course he was aware of the pillar men and the vampires since he was always looking for new vampire related movies. He was looking all over for something that could help him understand the lore of the show and why some people enjoyed writing fanfics about it so much.
He wanted to know what the attraction was to the show, and he wanted to learn more so he watched a few review videos and reblogged several jojo things on tumblr to get into it, he was still curious about it and wanted to know what it was about, and that's when he discovered a way to do so. He remembered he came up with a special tv show finder outer app which he decided to use, he looked up Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and came across a means to summon a character, so he used it to summon Josuke and Okuyashu.
'This is a most unusual place. I don't think we've been here before.' 'Hey Josuke, I think that someone must have used the za hando to teleport us here. Huh…my own stand being used on me, that's definitely quirky.' 'Have we been kidnapped?' 'Relax fellas…both of you have not been kidnapped, but you have been summoned. '
"Look, maybe this guy can help us. Did you summon us?"
'Yes, uhhh…hi, my name is Nathan and i'm new to the show you guys are from and I want to know how it works and what it's all about.' Nathan responded nervously. He blushed, but Josuke looked over at him and sensed something…he sensed there was a supernatural aura to him. 'I'm sure you know who we are. Hmmm…you have a very powerful aura, are you a Do you have powers?' 'Well I do have some magical abilities, but I don't think I have a stand but i'd think i'd make a good hamon user.' 'You don't? Would you like to learn from us about our world?'
Nathan nodded as the two guys taught him about where they came from, they gave him a funky history lesson including a lesson explaining the history of the Joestar family, he had a bit of a hard time digesting it all at first but he adjusted to it and even took up a few lessons in making his own set of moves and how to use hamon. 'Woah…I was wrong about this stuff, this is amazing. Your world sounds a lot like the one I live in.' 'You've got vampires in your world too?' 'Oh yes, all kinds of vampires but we haven't seen them yet.'
Josuke knew Nathan was going to make a good student (but he didn't expect to be such a good teacher since he was usually just a rebel with ridiculously good hair) and that's where he got an idea…'I notice you've read a lot of fiction in your world about people turning into the characters from our world.' 'Yes…I'd like to understand why they do it though.' 'Would you like to be transformed yourself? You don't have to if you don't want to.'
"Actually, yes…"
He thought for a few minutes and explained to the duo he was a shapeshifter, he could turn into anyone as long as they were human or humanoid. 'Can you show us?' 'Sure..i'm going to need to concentrate though.' He closed his eyes and concentrated and as he did, his skin slowly lost imperfections and smoothened. 'Woah…this actually feels comfortable.' 'I can tell that you definitely think that.' 'Yeah, the fiction i've read featuring these kind of transformations always came across as being graphic or scary with same depressing elements, but I guess experiencing it personally is different.'
Nathan examined himself as his arms lengthened and his hands shrank in size while his nails lengthened, his chest developed out a bit, becoming slender but also a bit muscled as a pair of breasts developed on them, his torso also slimmed as his clothing remained the same but took on a more radical looking style, in addition to this his back arched while his hips flared out…Josuke was amazed at what he was watching. 'How are you able to do that? Does your stand give you this power?' 'Although you taught me how to use one, I've always been able to morph.'
He chuckled as his stomach slimmed and his legs lengthened, he didn't mind the slurping sensation that was what was going on down below as his privates retracted, he actually thought this was pleasant, as his feet shrank. His shoulders shrank inward as his hair lengthened, turning from brown to jet black. A blue earring formed from a beam of light and flew onto one of his two ears, as his eyebrows thinned and his eyes turned from brown to blue, becoming quite hypnotic as eyelashes blossomed around them. 'Blue…my favorite eye color.'
In addition to this his features softened and feminized, his nose shrank while his lips plumped up, his features warping into those of Lisa Lisa..he couldn't believe it, he was turning into her and it felt nice, he was becoming a Jojo character and he was actually liking it, he dreaded it would be painful like what he had read but it wasn't, it was nice and soothing. As his voice feminized and contorted to match, becoming identical to his appearance.
His or rather 'her' transformation came to a close, 'she' was still Nathan but she looked and sounded like Lisa Lisa herself. 'I gotta say, the women in your world are pretty gorgeous. And so are the guys for that matter.' She examined herself in the mirror, examining herself…this had been the first time 'Nathan' had become a character from that world and she actually liked it.
"How does it feel to be her?"
"Peculiar but nice…"
Josuke chuckled, he knew that he had taught 'Nathan' well. 'Your magic is very versatile I must say.' 'Why thank you. I've spent years practicing how to control it. The first time it was uncontrollable, but over time one does get used to it.' Nathan/Lisa Lisa twirled around for a bit and then discovered there was a new spell in her spellbook a bonding spell which she used to connect them together.
It was through this bond that Nathan/Lisa warmed up to Jojo in general and learned to understand what it was all about and he/she appreciated it even more, which of course proved to be useful later on. And thus brings us to the lesson of the story, sometimes if you are new to something, it's good to give it a go yourself and learn what it's all about by experiencing it yourself.
