So this guy is looking for whatever Ronan has. Although I don’t think Ronan has a relic that lets him do what he does.

I’m still gonna update, but more of my thoughts are gonna be theories kinda and not in these super huge posts!! I’m still trying to figure out how to live-blog this series without ruining my reading experience so stay tuned 👍

👁• First thoughts on you when he saw what you were like, he was amazed. He didn’t know a human was capable of such cunningness.

👁• Then when stalking you (as per usual) and he sees you manipulating another, possibly someone who got on your nerves, he fell even more in love or well..got more obsessed but what’s the difference when it comes to him?

👁• When you both met face to face the first time, he was somewhat nervous seeing as you are completely different to the others he’s encountered. He wasn’t sure if you’d do something he couldn’t catch onto before hand, seeing as he had noticed how unpredictable you’ve been.

👁• Now that you’re both together though, he’s gotten used to the unpredictable side to you and he loves it soo much. It’s just something about the whole not knowing what’s coming next with you that he loves.

👁• If you ever insult him at some point, he will probably get a bit upset over it but within a matter of seconds, he’s back on you. Basically attached to you, his hair like tendrils wrapping around you tightly whilst he apologises for whatever he had done to make you insult him.

👁• Don’t you worry though, he doesn’t mind whenever you want to just talk away whether it be about your day, someone who’s annoyed you or anything of the kind. This guy will be there for you, running his fingers through your hair and giving small kisses to your cheek as you speak.

👁• He also kind of hopes with all the insulting, you’d be willing to do it in bed with him. Degradation is something he is quite alright with and it gets him going ;)

Duke Thomas - who’s surprised 😭 no but he’s without a doubt my fave bat. i think there are just so many inspiring things about him, and he represents the aspect of comics I love most - stepping up and doing what’s right even when all odds are against you

Carol Ferris - I used to talk about her 24/7 when I was heavy in my GL phase, but I never stopped loving her. I love that she’s deeply flawed and angry and passionate, and she gets to be messy. Also she influenced me to be more comfortable expressing myself femininely which was hard as a brown girl ngl anyways carol <333

Ollie Queen - LMAO idk why but I feel so cliche putting him, but he’s my favorite Arrow and he always has been. I relate to him a lot. He’s really introverted, in his own head despite being is outspoken, he loves nature, cares deeply, and he isolates when he’s sad. I also like his very black-and-white thinking, esp when it gets challenged. live laugh love ollie queen

Talia Al Ghul - I won’t say much about her lmao bc talia stans are like sharks here, but she is also very important to me. Like you ever get that character that just seizes your heart???? Yeah that’s Talia for me 🥺 i don’t post abt her often either, but i love her sm

Khalid Nassour - it’s hell being his fan, but i’ll do it anyways 😭 so Khalid is rlly interesting bc i read his “cool” appearances first then read Dr Fate 2015 where he was more of an annoying 22 yr old. And it was so satisfying watching him grow from someone who was more narrow-minded and whitewashed to an intelligent, capable, and enlightened person. I really enjoy his character’s spin on what fate means in regards to one’s identity, heritage, lifestyle, and faith.

Top 5 comic series (THIS IS ALSO HARD OMG)

Day of Vengeance - this is the one currently living rent free in my head rn bc it’s so FUNNY and random, but also a really interesting storyline in regards to magic in the DCU. It’s just so enjoyable watching this group of mystics handle the hugest threat ever and barely get along, and they’re all weird, and then Lori joins and she’s like the group teenager and it’s so funny

We Are Robin - I honestly wish it was longer ngl but I really wanted to see more of the group together and their stories, especially Izzy and Dre. The premise and duration of this story is SO dear to me bc ofc Duke, but also I love watching kids band together against authorities bc they love their city sm.

Batman: Son of the Demon - as a Talia and sometimes Brutalia fan, how can I not 😭 It’s so sad and actually heartwrenching how happiness was so close to them but taken away, and how much Bruce and Talia sacrificed for each other because they are both loving people, they just love in the wrong way

Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters - perfect Ollie. Perfect depiction of his mind. Really good storytelling. SHADOOOOO she served cunt and dc didn’t like that so they ruined her. Her initial appearance was so charming i literally made it my header. I like ethical dilemmas and the one in this story is so good. Also shoutout to Eddie fr

Green Lantern: Blackest Night - OKAY THIS IS THE ONE I WAS AFRAID OF SHARING 😭 I’m SORRY i love this for so many reasons, nostalgia mostly bc I re-read it over and over again at the peak of my hal obsession era idk why, I like the giant white entity, I like when all the Corps leaders have to team up and they’re all side-eyeing each other sm, and I also love when random heroes get involved and help save the day like Mera, Ray, Barry, Diana, Grant, watching them all try to survive it while battling grief in front of them. It is NOT THE BEST GL COMIC EVER but it’s one of my faves.

hiii, how are you? I'm so sorry if this is annoying but, what happened? what was Baekhyun talking about in his live? I watched a bit of it and he seemed tired and upset but I don't speak Korean so I couldn't understand what he was talking about :( only caught SM and EXO sometimes. Please forgive me if I'm asking something dumb, I just don't really use Twitter and you're like my go-to blog for Baekhyun (I love your blog BTW!!)

hi (..◜ᴗ◝..) sorry for the delay !! I had to get offline last night cause I was really too upset and it was also my bedtime so sorry I couldn’t get back to you faster :c I think you might be caught up to speed by now but just in case you aren’t, I’ll try to give a short summary of what happened, to my understanding at least, but even I am missing some context pieces bc I do not and will not seek out speculative, slanderous articles/forum posts abt baekhyun like I refuse to do that so idek how some of these things got brought up to the public attention but here’s what what little I did pick up, but mostly what baekhyun said

he came on live to clarify rumors that had started going around earlier that day and addressed 4 points in particular

1. the legal dispute that he took part in, along with jongdae and minseok, back in May. he didn’t say very much regarding that topic, he was so courteous and didn’t say one bad thing abt SM honestly he was so nice

2. the new company. so from what I gathered, yesterday it got leaked that baekhyun was starting his own company, and that’s I think the largest factor that pushed him to come out and clear the air cause speculations started ramping up like crazy. baekhyun confirmed that he is in the process of setting up a company with kasper and that it is done with SM’s approval, he will still be a part of the company and a part of EXO

3. his new house and the loan he took. ok so you might know that news broke out last week that baekhyun bought a new house. and… apparently, again idk who leaked this information or where but, it got out that baekhyun has taken out a very large loan and ppl got angry over it… I guess(?) honestly I don’t feel very comfortable talking abt this, it feels weird to me discussing smth that is quite frankly none of our business, but anyway baekhyun said that he took it to hold himself accountable in a way and put pressure on himself to achieve success with his company, and that he’s paying everything back and that he doesn’t understand how that’s an issue and honestly neither do I so .

4. and finally, his 4th solo album. talking abt this is reigniting my boiling rage, but I guess ppl where saying that he lost his path bc he’s not currently working on his next solo project and baekhyun said that he wants to do things correctly and it doesn’t feel right rn working on an album while also setting up smth as big as his own private company and that he’s sorry for keeping us waiting and not being able to go on tour and see us and that breaks my heart the most I won’t bore you with my personal output but I seriously need ppl to leave him alone I swear since he’s been back from the military ppl have been at his neck trying to get him for everything that he does and he….

having Sad Girl Time(tm) thoughts about steve and bucky rn.

for both of them they’re in the same place they grew up and know and love but now it’s so wildly diffrent. like going to an old childhood house someone else moved into. it’s the same house but it’s not quite right. everyone they knew is dead or almost gone while they’re young and healthy. almost everything from their home has been replaced or changed drastically. the only consistent they have is eachother and even that becomes wary with bucky’s altered mind. i’m by no means a cap stan and he’s not one of my favorite characters really but no wonder he was so stubborn in civil war and willing to sacrifice it all for bucky. quite literally that’s all he had. okay fine done angsting now any thoughts aswell?

HIIIIII. I’M SORRY ABOUT THE SAD GIRL TIME. ALSO ABOUT NOT ANSWERING DURING SAD GIRL TIME. I HAVE THOUGHTS FOR YOU IN RETURN <3

you’re right, they are in a weird position. well. bucky is. steve kind of ditched.

but I kind of want to talk about that more, so I’m going to. one of the things that always annoyed me slightly about mcu steve was how he just…did not attempt to keep living. and that statement sounds harsh, but you have to consider that he was in the 21st century for- what, four years? it’s completely understandable to be lost. you are in your home, but it’s not your home, it’s someone else’s. however. four years is plenty of time to make a new home.

again, you might be thinking I’m being too harsh. but in that time span, all steve ever did was look forward to the next mission. he was aimless, and had nothing to live for. I wouldn’t even really consider bucky something to live for, because it definitely was, but it was also in a big part just a distraction that he let go of pretty quickly once he realized it didn’t make him happy. this is consistent with comics cap. it’s just very interesting to me that in four years, he never stepped out of the nice little bubble/containment center SHIELD put him in. no personalized apartment, no therapy, one friend made without their help.

AND THEN. WE TURN TO MR. JAMES BUCHANAN BARNES.

whomst, by the way, was brain washed for seventy years.

in his first six months of actually being able to make decisions for himself (I don’t count civil war, or the two years afterwards. sir never asked for that.), he got himself in an apartment in a country he felt safe in, and bought fruit. then, when he gets back to the states, he goes to therapy (which, admittedly, wasn’t really his choice), follows the instructions he’s given, and attempts to form a new life. after a couple months, he’s even making friends. MAJOR steps compared to steve.

so, yes, you are completely right about their situation. I simply think that looking at it, and considering what they did with it really shows what kind of people they are, and who they’re trying to be. love the characterization, thank you sm for the ask. if you have more, PLEASE share them.

- I actually like smalltalk, it even annoys me when people are like “I hate smalltalk sm, I only want to talk about deep stuff everything else is meaningless” ever thought that smalltalk comes before the meaningful conversations? Besides that, I’m not gonna talk with you deep when I just meet u, how do you guys build such strong connections in a eye of a second?

- fatphobia has his roots in racism, you heard me right

- I don’t get how girls can like these crusty dusty “gamer” e- boy dudes that don’t even shower right. They all looked so wretched and they’re so misogynistic🤢

- I’m sorry but people who like it when other people wear tales make me uncomfortable

- the normalization of hookup culture especially around girls should be illegal, no you’re not empowering feminisms by doing guys the favor to play with you without them putting in any effort

- I will never ever befriend a girl who compares herself to other girls again

- or someone I don’t feel comfortable saying my opinion to

- You will be shocked by the amount of guy friends you have, who would love to sleep with you (they’re just really good at hiding it)

- Men who want 50/50 relationships are trash

- leaving work/ class because of my period IS A VALID REASON🤨

I had to do some schoolwork with a girl who has it and she was always changing the topic (talking about her personal stuff) even though I asked her a question about the work we had to do and she was staring at my phone and reading what was on the display n stuff, I was hella annoyed

- I don’t see a problem with ignoring someone you don’t like, in fact it’s problematic to force someone to interact with people they don’t like because otherwise they are “rude”

- Our grandparents are to 85% the reason why our parents traumatized us

- old people scare me sometimes, u guys have no chills

- Ben & Jerry’s are are worth the money

- I actually prefer gatekeeping myself

- people who are intelligent and have humanitarian morels are so hot

- I like tumblr more since it has stricter community-guidelines

- I love eating salad, I just love it

- I can’t go a day without drinking at least one glass of cranberry juice, I never really meet someone who likes cranberry juice - it’s way to underrated

- I don’t like using swear words actually and it makes me uncomfortable when people around me talk so vulgar 🤔

- psychology is something I never get tired of

Dang Hana, you had one job and that was too not make me hate her more MISSION FAILED WJSNMA, like it’s so obvious that she is using Hyunjin as a way to move on or as a rebound from her ex ?? This is displayed especially when she keeps talking about her ex and his new girl and I’m like tf ??? WHY DO YOU CARE SM SMH. And also tbh Hana just kissed him and honestly idk why that didn’t sit right w me?? Like ok you guys kiss but also don’t do it Orin front of your friends and without consent from the other party ?? I mean maybe because I’m also seeing Hana from a 3rd party perspective so I’m kinda JWHAJAJA. But idk this chapter just made her seem and look like an inconsiderate person tbh. She clearly doesn’t know the mc well because she keeps making assumptions about her which aren’t true? Like talking about how the mc isn’t serious about dating but she just hasn’t found the right one yet !! Honestly she pisses me off and it’s tiring to see how the mc is just letting Hana take advantage of her kindness. Honestly I am just down right upset. Like stop using fate and stuff as a way to make him your hubby or smthg, actually try to appreciate him and get to know him. Tbh the only time that I agreed with Hana was when she said the mc and Hyunjin would get along really well. LIKE FINALLS SMH BAE URE SO DENSE ITS SO IRRITATING. like yo someone has to tell her that she is just so INTOLERABLE RN IMO !!!! Like how can one just be so inconsiderate ? She cant accept the fact Hyunjin asked her not to post the photo, BUT IMO considering he is a celebrity, it’s a valid reason because he obv wants to avoid scandals. I feel like she wants to post it simply because her ex posted a picture with his new love interest and that’s what kinda makes me annoyed also is how it’s so painfully obvious that she is just using Hyunjin as a way to rebound from her ex. Like I said idt Hana likes Hyunjin for who he is, it’s all just physical attraction. This can be seen how she always finds a way to shut down the things Hyunjin talks about, like how he and the mc were talking about the onion volcano. Honestly if I had her as a friend I would’ve dropped her SORRY J SAID IT SJSJSJ. Like it’s so obv her intentions are no longer pure ??? Like yea sure she did approach Hyunjin c bc she was genuinely interested in him, but as the story progressed, it became so alarmingly obvious that she is simply trying to use Hyunjin as a way to show everyone that “she is fine”, “I’m doing better without yeonjun”. She clearly cares too much about what people think and I think in a way she kind of uses his fame as a way to show yeonjun “I’m dating a celebrity. Someone handsome and better than you and your new girl”. Like tbh those intentions in itself are no longer pure. She is just using him for his fame, but idt she is doing it on purpose ofc. I think it’s more subconscious.

Like from how I see it the mc is just hurting but not to the point where it’s like OUCH MY HEART JABSJA. It’s more like she is starting to realize her feelings for Hyunjin. I honestly feel bad for her because I actually don’t know how Hyunjin feels for the mc and Hana so I hope we can see a chapter on that real soon !! But other than that I just pity the mc at this point bc they guy she is attracted to is dating someone else, and she even had to watch her “best friend” and said boy kiss. It’s like the universe is rubbing it into her face that she can’t have him. And that sucks !!! And also, her so called “best friend” (Hana) treats the mc like ABSOLUTE GARBAGE !!! Like gurl … MC HAS GONE AND SEEN ENOUGH PLSSSSS !!! But tbh the mc is such a good person to a fault imo. Like she takes whatever shiz Hana gives her and it’s just irritating. Like it’s obvious that the mc is always there for Hana. This is seen when Hana keeps calling the mc and how Hana always expects her to be there, and how she gets mad when the mc says “I cant rn I’m busy”. That could imply that Hana isn’t used to the mc not being there for her when she needs to rant or needs help. And it’s also so painfully obvious how loyal the mc is. Loyal to a daily imo. Like even though the mc is hurting, and sees the guy she is attracted to and Hana kiss, she tolerates it because she just wants Hana, a person she cares about, to be happy. Tbh this story in a way also kind of reflects the true nature of human kind. How very kind ppl like the mc are always and frequently taken advantage of their kindness. Bc I’ve seen many situations like this happen with ppl like these and it’s sucks on their part because they don’t deserve it !!! But also based off her last statement, I hope she won’t be the one to blatantly point out Hana’s true intentions. Because imo it might cause more harm than good, and I think it would be better if Hyunjin found out Hana’s true intentions himself. Although idk if that’s going to happen or if it’s possible, but let’s see what happens !!! But also tbh I find it inspiring how the mc always tries to find the goodness in other ppl !! Like how it’s so obv that Hana is just using Hyunjin as a rebound and constantly comparing him to her ex’s new girl and how she is better off. I like how the mc continues to believe that Hana’s intentions were true and pure (which they initially were), but slowly it just deviated away from that imo. And the mc notices that which is good, but also it’s just a pity that she clearly likes Hyunjin, and I know I kept mentioning she wouldn’t admit it, she did mention in one of the later parts in chapter 5 that “although she and Hana might like him differently”. Kind of a signifier that she sort of has a feeling that she indeed likes Hyunjin and j think she subconsciously admitted it to herself. THATS A GOOD AND BAD THING bc she will just hurt more, but also it’s a step forward to growth :>.

And as for Hyunjin, he is just confusing I’m sorry ISBAKAJ. Like to the point I’m getting really annoyed JHSJAHAA. bc like it’s obv he is attracted to the mc but idk how he feels about her so I’m kinda lost. But my initial thought still stands wherein I do think he is attracted to the mc hence why he even asked about the mc in the date between him and Hana. But I think he now feels discouraged because he feels like he may not have a chance due to the things that Hana mentioned. How the mc doesn’t take dating seriously etc. but I still do think that he likes her either way ! But idt he is admitting it to himself yet. It’s very endearing how Hyunjin is so observant of the mc and can literally READ but does not see through Hana HELPPP AJDHSJS but it could be bc Hyunjin doesn’t know about Hana’s past with Yeonjun. And tbh I think another reason why Hyunjin isn’t admitting his feelings to the mc is because he thinks that there’s either smthg going on between the mc and Felix, or Felix already likes the mc (or vice versa). This can be seen how when the mc answered the call, he immediately assumed it was Felix. Also I think he likes the mc because literally when they were talking about what could inspire art etc, when he said “A person”, BRO LITERALLY STARED OUR CUTE LIL MC DOWN LIKE SHEEEESH AJBSJAJA. but tbh I also feel bad for Hyunjin bc poor boy must be confused rn ab his feelings bc I think it’s more like, he is already seeing someone but he can’t be feelin these things for someone else, ESPECIALLY FOR THE BEST FRIEND IF THE OERSON HE JS SEEJNG SJSJSJ, so I think he is also “forcing” himself to see the mc in a light wherein they are “just friends” but bae all the signs and actions just make me think he likes the mc more and more AJBSJAHAJA. Sorry Hyunjin you are VERY VERG BAD AG HUDING UR FEELINGS DONT EVEN ESPECIALLY FROM US WE SEE EVERYTHING AISHJAJS. But huge tbh though, I do think Hyunjin is slowly starting to realize his feelings for the mc. This is shown when Hyunjin proposes to cancel his pre made plans with Hana to hang out with the mc !!! I bet if the mc hadn’t said anything, he would’ve really cancelled it. ALSO HELP DID HYUNJIN AND HANA RLLY KISS DOE DURING THEIR DATE ? Doesn’t seem like smthg for Hyunjin’s character in the story to do doe so idk I was shocked sjsbjs

All in all the new chapter was beautifully written as usual !!! But it broke my heart more than it brought me butterflies :<< ITS LIKE there’s always a good moment and then suddenly It’s just gone HUHU SHEBJA. i hope the time wherein everything h folds is soon bc idk how much more heart ace I can take for our poor mc JSBAJA IM TOO INVESTED IN THIS SJSHJSS. im so here for otis & ruby, the relationship makes both characters more interesting and less unbearable, plus they are so much better than maeve & otis, i can actually ship them.

i love cal. i want to see more of them. it was heartbreaking to see the bathrooms aka their safe space being demolished.

since season one adam has been my favorite character (after maeve), and i’m so happy to see his development. he makes me go 🥺 every time he’s on screen.

eric and adam are so cute. i really hope they work out.

you’re more than embarrassed, as today was supposed to be your big introduction and announcement to all of the cultivation world as the fiancee to the Jin Lanling sect leader

but said sect leader

may have had too much fun talking with you last night

you let out an annoyed huff, too busy working around the different styles of hair that can cover your open neckline to notice your fiance enter the bedchambers

only when soft hands part your long hair from the back of your head and lay them over your shoulders do you notice that you are no longer alone

“i can’t believe you,” you mumble out to Jin Ling only to continue to pout when he lets out an amused laugh

“well, no better way to announce our marriage, right?” Jin Ling teases and you roll your eyes, turning around to glare at him in return

but Jin Ling is unintimidated, even going so far as to lean in to steal an extra kiss

but you put a hand over his mouth, leaning in as close as you can

(but never enough)

you place the gentlest, most teasing, kiss on the tip of his nose

and turn away to leave, your hair parted by his hands

Lan Sizhui

the hands that are currently wrapped around you are warm, skin only separated by your inner robes

“how am i supposed to change with you like this, hmm? A-Yuan?” you ask gently,

you feel the smallest press of lips at the nape of your neck, a response that lingers and then moves up to all the ticklish spots that Sizhui had always known well

it’s an enticing predicament that you are in, but your meeting with his fathers, Hanguang-Jun and the Yiling Patriach give you enough of a mind to wiggle of out of his grasp, lest he continue like he did last night with his heated kisses on your body

“hey, naughty boy, don’t add any more,” you tell Sizhui, turning in his hold to stare at him,

when you meet eyes with him, he doesn’t seem too convinced to listen to your words

you pout at him

“i’m already embarrassed enough as it is...meeting your fathers like this” you admit

and you see the way that his eyes lighten with a softness that only you could cause in them

“you know, you make it really hard not to,” Sizhui admits, and sometimes the words that he uses with you make you breathless

you blink at him,

“well you’ve got to try, don’t you?” you tell him

and Sizhui feels winded by the wide doe eyes that you always use to stare at him

he takes in a small breath, leans in to press a long reminiscing kiss against your lips

when he leaves your lips, slowly, longingly,

he feels that that should be enough to sate him

for now

Xiao Xingchen

“Daozhang,” you say, warningly

the man that answers to that only huffs a small laugh, though he still stands immensely close to you as you’re dressing yourself for the discussion conference meeting waiting for you just outside the wooden door

you let out a light disbelieving laugh as your eyes hover the red and pinkish hues at the bottom of your neck

who would have thought that some one as “bright as the moon with the gentleness of a breeze” was capable of well

whatever happened to your entire neck and shoulders

anyways

when you look at yourself in the mirror, you catch Xiao Xingchen’s eyes linger on the neckline of your robes

you let out a little breath at him then, meeting eyes with him in the mirror

you watch him as he reaches a strong arm around your shoulder, moving your robes just a slightest bit higher, covering the pinkish tint of your skin as best as he can

his gentleness in moments like this, surprise you, considering the way that you both were last night (lmaooooo)

but with the way that his hand smooths your robes, fixes the wrinkles and brushes off the non-existent dust from your shoulders

it brings a small smile to your face, a shy look despite how well you both know each other

from behind you Xingchen returns your smile,

feeling the butterflies for each other all over again

Xue Yang

you turn your neck to the side, staring at the colors littered all across your skin, the different shades and hues

your hands linger slightly, still careful of the gingerness that you feel

if you turn your neck a certain way, you can still feel the sting and heat of the bites against each inch of your skin...

“pretty?” a deep voice interrupts your thoughts

you startle slightly at the close proximity of Xue Yang’s lips against the shell of your ear

once you regain yourself, you let out a huff as you turn to look at him, an annoyed eyebrow raised at him,

“what will the other cultivators think when i go to the conference later?” you ask, not necessarily to him but more so a thought to yourself,

“that you have a very dedicated lover,” Xue Yang answers anyways and you take in a deep breath and turn to meet eyes with him

catch that annoying, infuriatingly handsome way that he has with his devious smile

“my lover might very well cost me a fine for public indecency,” you tell him bluntly and that gets a very unattractive snort out of Xue Yang in response,

“then don’t be indecent in public, just stay here with me,” Xue Yang persuades, and you’re angry at yourself that it’s kind of working

but you have a conference to attend

a time and place to be

a name to clear

when you share a look at him, you lean in for one final kiss, one that is long and leaves your breathless

but gives you all the strength that you need to depart

He shrugs. “How am I supposed to party when my best girl is stuck at work?”

Everything changes during a late night in Penelope's batcave. But really, nothing changes at all.

Friday nights without a case are a rare treasure for SSA Hotchner’s highly sought after team of profilers. Normally, Derek and Penelope would be taking advantage of the freedom by dancing all night, but sometimes the universe has other plans.

Penelope used this week’s case-free time to put the finishing touches on an antivirus and security software of her own creation. The personal information of her beloved BAU babies was a hot commodity well worth the additional protection, and she’s always looking for a reason to fiddle with Quantico’s servers. It ended up being a whole production, taking the entire afternoon and then some. Apparently, she still doesn’t have all of the permissions required to make certain adjustments which means that she’s fiddling and bending her way into all of the things she needs to do. If that wasn’t bad enough, the whole damn thing crashed around 4:00. She managed not to pull her hair out, but it was a close thing and it set her back at least an extra hour.

Derek stops by a little after 5, his jacket slung over his shoulder. “Baby girl, I can hear the bottles of DC’s finest vodka and Hennessy calling our names, are you almost ready to leave for the day?” He pauses in the door, taking in her furious typing and furrowed brow. “Whoa, Mama, what’s the matter? You’ve got Hotch’s eyebrows.”

She throws her arms up. “The entirety of the FBI and also the world is getting on my nerves!” He walks over to her, leaning on the side of her chair and turning her away from her monitor. His hands gently grab both of hers and he rubs a soothing circle with one of his thumbs.

“Explain, baby girl.”

She does, eventually just ranting and raving about how annoying it is to still be put in metaphorical handcuffs by the FBI as if she can’t just do what she wants anyway. “I’m not even breaking any rules, technically, they’re just making things annoying and long winded.” She sighs, moving her hands to interlock their fingers. “But now that it’s started, it would be doubly annoying to stop it and come back later. So I’m stuck here until it’s done, which might take a while.”

He nods, thinking. Then he straightens up, grabs the extra rolling chair, and sits down.

Penelope splutters. “Sugar, you don’t have to stay here with me, it’s really not that big of a deal.”

He shrugs. “How am I supposed to party when my best girl is stuck at work?” She blushes, turning away to hide it on instinct.

“You cheeseball.” She spins around to lightly push on his arm. He just smiles.

They sit together for 20 minutes in relative silence as she continues her work. It’s a comfortable silence; his occasional humming soothes her rising annoyance at how needlessly long this is taking. She can hear him playing with one of the fidget toys she keeps on her desk behind him. When she gets to another point of sitting and waiting, she turns towards him and asks him about his day. He tells her about how Prentiss helped him get Reid back for a prank by distracting him in the break room while he switched out the keyboard of Reid’s computer with an identical one with a grass garden planted inside. “It’s a long con for sure, but I’m hoping it sprouts this weekend.”

She laughs. “How long did it take you to set this up, dumpling?” She already knows the answer, but it’s nice to see his slightly sheepish but proud look about his dedication to his prank war. Her computer beeps at her, and she spins back around to begin working again.

He rolls closer, avoiding her question and wrapping an arm around her shoulders. “You getting hungry yet?”

She relaxes, leaning against him. As if on cue, her stomach grumbles. “Yes, I’d say so.”

He leans over and moves a strand of hair out of her face. “Okay baby girl, I’ll go grab us food and be right back.” She nods, lifting her cheek on instinct to meet the kiss she knows is coming. He stands and sure enough, leans down to kiss her cheek. “I’ll be quick. Be good.”

“How can I do anything else if you’re not here?” She bats her eyes up at him.

He grins. “Oh, I’m sure you’d think of something.” He brushes his knuckles against her cheek. It makes her shiver.

She watches him leave, catching the kiss he blows at her from the door. Turning back to focus on her work, it feels like she blinks and he’s back. A glance at the clock tells her it’s been over a half hour. He puts the bag of food onto the table before coming to pull her away from the computer.

“One minute, I promise, I’m so close to just letting this thing run for a little.” He twirls her hair around his fingers before dropping his hands onto her shoulders, rubbing away the tension. A minute and a half later, she leans back in her chair with a sigh. She tilts her head back and sticks her tongue out at him. He smiles at her.

"Come eat, baby girl. Don't think you're getting out of eating my hard won dinner." He moves to the table and pulls out her chair. She follows and sits.

"Hard won — mon cher, you didn't tackle a wild animal and lug it home to our log cabin in the woods, you drove your car 20 minutes."

He kisses her temple, handing her a pair of chopsticks. "Yeah, but I would lug home whatever you needed anytime, so the sentiment is the same."

She smiles and knocks their feet together under the table lightly. He moves his chair, so they are sitting right next to each other on the same side of the table. The heat from his arm is palpable.

Derek grabs a box from the bag and splits the vegan pad thai within onto two paper plates. He opens the box of spring rolls and places it in between them while she places napkins in front of them both. He pops the cap off of her bottle of lemonade without her asking, and sets that in front of her too. “Thank you, handsome.” He smiles in response. They start eating and the comfortable silence returns.

She talks him through what she still needs to do to fix everything in between bites, even though she knows he doesn't really understand her technobabble. But Penelope can feel his eyes on her, and without looking, she somehow knows that something has shifted in the air around them.

"What?" she asks, turning her attention away from gesturing at her computer with the chopsticks. "Do I have something on my face?"

He chuckles. "Actually, yes, c'mere." He brushes away a stray spot of sauce on the corner of her lips with a gentle swipe of his thumb. The rest of his hand stills on her cheek. She shivers. She can see him notice it, his attention focusing in on her. Penelope's blood is thundering in her ears as he glances in between her lips and her eyes.

She leans purposefully into his hand. His thumb brushes over her lips again and her mouth falls open a little.

"Penelope, I-" he cuts himself off with a hard swallow. "Penelope." His eyes flicker down to her lips and back up to her eyes quickly again.

She can only blink at him for a moment. "Yes, Derek?"

"I don't kn- um. Can I-" She's never seen him flustered and unsure like this. But they've never been out of sync before and they aren't about to start now, so she nods, bringing up a hand to rest on his. A smile grows on his face before he starts to lean in. His hand slides along her cheek to more firmly grip her face- it makes her gasp.

He pauses, thinking something is wrong. "Penelope, are y-" Her heart swells at how careful he is to take care of her always, and she meets him in the middle, pressing their lips together in a soft, purposeful kiss.

For a moment, all is still. The world boils down to just the place where their lips are touching. Their lips barely brush against one another, but already Penelope feels light headed. Derek separates their lips for a moment before kissing her again, a firmer touch this time. She sucks in a breath through her nose. His lips are incredibly kind- that’s the only word for it. He doesn’t seem to know the word “take” right now because all she can feel from him is “give.” As he presses into the kiss and gently cups the side of her face, her brain wildly spins through thoughts about how of course he’s like this even when kissing her and how good he smells and how she can’t believe they haven’t done this sooner.

He draws her closer against him, pressing into the kiss more insistently before bringing his other hand up to her face and holding her. His fingers move to cup the sides of her neck and she tilts her head to the left a touch, letting her mouth fall open in a sigh. He makes a soft noise before tentatively sliding their tongues together. A full body shiver runs down her spine and through her limbs. Another small noise falls from the back of his throat. Her stomach swoops like they've just dropped down the side of a huge arch in a roller coaster. She places both hands on his chest, pressing forward. He moves with her, chair squeaking underneath him as he presses closer, one arm snaking around her back. Penelope’s heart pounds even louder. His tongue is gentle even in its insistence as their kiss turns slightly desperate.

It feels like someone has lit a fire underneath Penelope’s chair, warmth washing over her whole body and radiating out from everywhere they touch. One of his hands tangles into her hair as he gently tilts her head back. If she wasn’t sitting her knees would have buckled so long ago, but now she would absolutely be on the floor. It’s no surprise that Derek Morgan is an incredible kisser, but knowing something and knowing something is so different.

He pulls back, letting their foreheads rest together. Her eyes stay closed, tingles radiating from everywhere his fingers are tenderly holding her face. She tightens her grip on his shirt. He kisses the tip of her nose. "You still with me, baby girl?"

She nods, breathless. She slowly opens her eyes and smiles at him. "Hi." It's the first thing she thinks to say.

He laughs. "Hey you."

She has so many questions- how long have you wanted to do that, can we do that again right now, can we do so much more right now, right here- but before she can ask any of them, her computer beeps loudly. "Oh!" She jumps at the sudden noise. He drops his hands and leans back, looking far too much like the cat who got the cream. "I should- right, I should deal with that," she says, standing on shaky legs. Heels were never so precarious. Of course, there is no hiding from a profiler.

He grins up at her. "Need some assistance?" His eyes are shining like he's hiding a joke. She scrunches her nose at him, biting back a smile.

"Oh, hush you. I’m perfectly capable of walking 3 feet, thank you very much." Her tenacity is a little undercut from the way her hands are trembling a little as she smooths her skirt, but still. The point remains.

He raises his hands in surrender. "Alright baby girl, go on then."

She walks over to her computer and stays standing to fiddle with the wires behind it before bending over at the keyboard and reading the report on the screen. "It shouldn't be much longer now, it just needs to run the last new anti-virus- what?" He's leaning back in his seat and staring at her, a small smile dancing on his lips.

"What, Mama?" But he knows what, clearly evident from the way he is trying to school his expression into something innocent.

She blushes. "Derek Morgan, I don't know what I'm going to do if you keep looking at me like that."

"Oh, I don't know. I might have some ideas."

She sucks in a sharp inhale through her nose. Playing nonchalant, she turns back to her computer. "Well, I might have to hear your ideas out."

"Yeah?"

She glances at him out of the corner of her eye and he's grinning.

"Yeah." she says, not trusting what will come out of her mouth if she elaborates (probably something along the lines of “I’d listen to all your ideas, do your ideas include any semblance of forever, if you keep grinning like that I'm gonna lock the door and do something reckless”).

They sit in relative silence, just the sounds of her typing filling the room. When she finishes, she spins her chair around. "Hi," she says again.

"Hi baby," he responds.

Her fingers twist and curl the hem of her skirt. "So, uh, well, that's gonna take at least another 30 minutes to finish running."

He raises one eyebrow. "30 minutes, huh?"

She nods. "Might be a good time for some of those ideas."

He stands and walks across the room to her. She takes his offered hand and stands as well. They stay there, inches apart and holding hands as the charged atmosphere around them seems to crackle. In the same breath, they lean in to kiss again. Both of her arms wrap around his neck as he tucks his around her waist. He pulls her against him, fully pressed together as the soft kiss deepens into something heated and desperate.

He bites her bottom lip gently before the kiss turns open mouthed and slick. She arches against him as they slide into a slow rhythm. She feels fluttery, like his arms are the only anchor point in the whole world and if he let her go, she’d simply float away. He tastes like lemonade, sweet and alive. She hums as he tracks his hands in a slow circle at the base of her spine. Her knees really do buckle a little as he attempts to tug her closer, but he holds her steady. She rests a hand on his cheek and grounds herself by using the other to grip the back of his neck. She’s utterly swallowed up by him, his arms and his mouth and just him surrounding her in their own little cocoon. He separates their mouths to kiss across her jaw and down her neck, hands flattening on her back. He places a line of long kisses down to the crook of her neck. She lets out a sigh, letting her head fall to the side to give him more room. He sinks his teeth into the same spot lightly, and she shudders.

"Derek," she whispers. She can feel his smile against his skin as he kisses the same place again.

They slow to a stop, tucked against each other. He rests his face against her neck and mumbles something against her skin. "Hmm honey?" she says, hand rubbing a circle on the nape of his neck.

"I got us that Talenti ice cream you like," he says, only moving enough to be heard. “Chocolate peanut butter cup, and the color changing spoons are still in the break room.”

"Oh Der, that's so sweet, you didn't have to do all of that." Her heart skips a beat.

He shrugs, kissing the side of her neck. "I wanted to."

She is half tempted to haul him in for another kiss, but as if on cue, her stomach grumbles. He picks his head up and smiles at her. "Come eat now," he says before giving her another quick peck.

She lets him pull her to the table, but before they sit, she pulls him in again. He chuckles into the kiss. "Eat, you menace." He mumbles against her lips. Pulling back, he plants a kiss on the apple of her cheek as he guides her into her seat.

She bites a retort about how she was trying to but he sees it on her face anyway.

"Later, baby girl. Dinner first."

“Then dessert?” She tilts her head and gives him a flirty smile.

He runs his thumb along her bottom lip. “All the dessert you want, Penelope.”

Much the same as before, they eat in comfortable silence. Except this time he rests a hand on her thigh, and traces a slow lazy circle with his thumb. The conversation picks back up and turns to unrelated things. Derek muses about possible retaliations from Spencer once he notices his new desk plants as he casually offers her a bite from his plate. She takes it, humming.

Something Penelope did not realize had lost its footing resettles in her chest. Nothing is different, not in any way that would scare her or be a loss. They are just the same as they've always been, but also more. (Though she'd be hard pressed to think of a time when this wasn't the way they were. Maybe things are just being unveiled, not changed.)

When they finish eating, he goes to get the ice cream and two of the fun spoons from the break room. They split the pint and laugh far too loudly for how late it is. The computer beeps for a final time, software finally fully uploaded and settled. She still has to run tests and double check that everything is working, but that can wait. Derek offers her a bite of ice cream, and if he kisses her again to remove the ice cream from her bottom lip, she can't say she minds.
