It might not have Jaune- but the second justice league crossover movie is worth seeing! It's better than the first (which hopefully balances out no Jaune?)

But seriously, I hate to say it, but the FNDM turned me off on the movie
Because V10 hadn’t been greenlit at the time it came out, and everyone was desperate for scraps of post-V9, SO MANY PEOPLE in the FNDM started treating the Vacuo portion of the second movie as canon. All the emotional Ruby talks in the movie people were just like “Oh yeah! This is canon! And Batman is here but that’s fine :)”
And I’m just like… No?? No it fucking isn’t??
I appreciate that it’s PROBABLY SIMILAR to what CRWBY have in mind for the next leg of the story. But the movies aren’t fucking canon! Any character development that happened in the movies will NOT carry over to the show, and it doesn’t make sense to keep acting like these films with fucking Superman and Green Lantern in them are canon to the plot of the story!
If they were, then Salem would already be gone! Because then I guess Superman is canon, so all bets are off!
And don’t get me wrong, I really like the first movie, and I bet that the second one is just as good. It just irks the hell out me that people are treating them as canon
So yeah I just… I just can’t with Justice League Pt. 2. At least not until V10 is released

Some of your posts got me thinking, and I'd like to hear your perspective.
How do you see the line between friendship and romance? Is there a line? Should there be a line? What separates platonic attraction from romantic attraction? What makes something romantic?
Regarding amatonormativity, what is it? How does it manifest in society, and what effect does it have?
Okay, I apologize for the very long delay in responding to this. Finals week kicked my butt, and I had little energy to respond. But, I'm going to respond now. And, the answer very well may surprise at how simple it is.
What separates platonic attraction from romantic attraction? What makes something romantic?
The answer to this is so, so simple and yet complicated to someone who might not see things out of the amatonormative lens:
Intent.
What makes separates romantic and platonic attraction is intent. If you're holding hands with someone, and you feel romantic attraction towards them, then that action is romantic.
If you're you're hugging someone and they're your friend and you feel absolutely nothing romantic towards them, only platonic love, then the action is platonic.
Now, what is amatonormativity? Amatonormativity is the societal concept that the highest achievement that a human can attain is to get into a heterosexual, romantic relationship, get married, have children, the whole shebang.
In other words, it's the societal concept that one must engage in romance in order to have a fulfilling life, in order to be human.
It manifests EVERYWHERE in society. Any talk about love you can think of. The list is too long to type. And it's very potentially harmful, especially to people who don't fit within those boundaries.
Poly, gay, arospec, acespec, all of these individuals are harmed by amatonormativity because it attempts to regulate our lives and demonize us and shame our way of living because we reject it.

Do you think Winters sword has a name? Some time ago I saw a blog arguing that if there was any character who wouldn't name their weapon, it was Winter.
that's an excellent question that i feel like doesn't really have an answer.
most of the weapon names came from the companion book – which even gave team crdl's weapons their names – but from what i've heard, not only did they not give winter's sword a name, they didn't even note it as something she simply decided against. they also haven't noted the lack of name in the show so who knows. it could have a name in-universe, but they haven't found the perfect one yet which is why it's still unknown, or it could not have a name.
the only thing currently that i could see pointing towards winter not naming her sword is her whole "my life doesn't matter" thing:
"just weapons? they're an extensions of ourselves! they're part of us!"
if you think your life doesn't matter, why would you name something and create a stronger bond to it if it doesn't matter?
in that sense, i could see it, but they haven't exactly focused on her sword or its lack of name, so it doesn't feel like a storyline they're necessarily going for.

Have you always liked Emerald or are there certain scenes / volumes that made her one of your favorite characters?
To be honest, I didn’t really have strong feelings about Emerald when I first watched V2-V4 (I didn’t hate her, I just wasn’t as invested in her character as I am now). It wasn’t until after a rewatch that I did/watching V5 that I started to see her in a different light. At that point, she became one of my all time favourite RWBY characters, currently she’s my #1 favourite character in RWBY (with Yang very close behind in the #2 spot).
V3 was good at getting me attached to Emerald and showing us that she’s not as “far gone” as some of the other villains. She’s the only one watching the Fall of Beacon that’s not reveling in it/smiling about it. Her saying “It’s almost sad...” with this look on her face, shows that clearly she’s not a truly awful person (while still being a villain, I didn’t forget that) and that she possibly felt some form of guilt.
The talk between her & Mercury is one of my favourite moments from that volume (granted every moment with Emerald in V6 is great but still). She’s clearly going through something, what with her asking Mercury “Why did you come with us, the night Cinder & I found you” and all, trying to get his perspective. With Cinder gone, she’s been questioning what she’s even doing at this point... unfortunately Mercury was not the best person to talk to about that, considering the two were/still are in completely different headspaces mentally.
I could talk about Emerald for hours, I just find her to be so interesting as a character. This girl just wants to be loved so badly and she deserves to have people in her life that genuinely love her. With her redemption arc just getting starting as of V8, the future looks bright and I can’t wait to see how she grows as a character.
TLDR: I love Emerald a whole heckin’ lot, sorry for rambling and in short -Marge Simpson VC- I just think she’s neat!!

I liked your reblog that was a "guide" to writing aro characters. Of course it's not a literal guide and ends with: you want to know write aro characters? Talk to aro people.
So, I wanted to ask you to share a bit about your aro experiences. How did you come to realize you were aro? What does being aro mean to you? How has being aro affected your views on related topics like friendship, family, and love?
Sorry for the late response, but it's finals week, so I'm busy! busy! busy!
Now, to answer your questions:
How did I know I was aro? It was actually a recent development, 3 years or so, when I got to college and go into a relationship. I knew I was ace since 9th grade, but aro was something I realized when I entered college.
I realized that the longer we were together, the less I felt like I did when we first met and stuff. I learned about the difference between platonic, aesthetic, sensual, familial, emotional attraction, and realized that because she and I had really hit it off with our interest in magic and witchcraft and paganism, I wanted to get to know her better so we could learn more and practice more together.
I realized that it wasn't romantic attraction, it was platonic attraction.
Being aro is really important to me, it's such an empowering feeling for me. My entire perspective changed once I realized I was aro, and I was able to see the world outside of an amatonormative lens.
The line between friendship and romantic relationships that society set was blurred and so much of my life changed. I feel like I see things in an entirely different way than many of the people I know because I'm aromantic.
