I want to see Wukong as a serious and powerful king outside of the mountain of flowers and fruits, but gentle and affectionate with his subjects when he returns home after showdowns with various monsters.

my hot take for today, rwby gets better when you realise that blake definitely did have a crush on sun in the early days but didn’t follow up on it because she realised post-fall that her feelings were stronger for yang and that sun just wasn’t the one.

1) it makes all the eclipse moments in early volumes not feel like they’re shitting on bumbleby (the eventual canon couple)

2) it highlights that yes, blake is indeed bi

3) it tells a very realistic story of how some crushes just aren’t meant to be

do i still think blake had a bit of a crush on yang at beacon? absolutely. do i still think yang fell first and was so head over heels for blake at beacon? absolutely! blake seriously has a type, and sun and yang are both that type.

the difference comes in how they treat her. sun may be fun and flirty, but he’s also senseless and pushes blake out of her comfort zones far too often without realizing why she doesn’t appreciate it. yang on the other hand is patient with her, invites her into her life to have fun without pushing her way in and trampling all over her boundaries.

and that’s what’s fun about sun and yang being so similar !! like, not only does blake have a type, but it shows the variance in that type and what she needs in a relationship. it’s a great narrative !!

and it works extra well when you consider that sun doesn’t get jealous and actively encourages blake to go on her own way (subtext: to get her girl), because then it makes him somewhat of a narrative foil to ilia, who was jealous of adam and let that jealousy fester, as opposed to sun, who let go of those conflicting feelings to let blake — who he undoubtedly loves — be herself and do what she wants. (it’s also why i really love the dynamic of sun and ilia, himbo and lesbian duo getting over the girl they loved)

long story short, eclipse isn’t bad but it also wasn’t meant to be and that’s okay. better, even, for the story they wanted to tell for blake.

This was an interesting one, got me thinkin about a lil story that might come out through this sort of circumstance

I would think most of the celestials would be very cautious about Wukong. He did cause all those problems for them so long ago, so I’m sure at first a Goddess!Nà would be very careful about encountering this monkey (and his second hand). So….what if she encountered him without knowing it was him…..under the circumstances that she is a goddess that enjoys helping her feathered friends.

And then she goes back to the celestial realm talking about a strange bird she has never seen before… tan in color, strange markings and a very apparent red bushy tail feather (very much reminiscent of a …monkey tail)

Oh man everyone is all up on her case about helping Wukong. I mean how was she supposed to know, she thought she was doing a heavenly duty.

To Wukong, I would think he wouldn’t like the company of the celestials after everything either. He in fact thinks he is still better than them, of course he would never hang out with them all buddy buddy. So when this naive goddess comes to help him, he becomes very interested…

A little headcannon (?) I have for EclispeDuo (Chang'e and Sun Wukong) is that Sun Wukong visits Chang'e whenever he has time. He likes hanging out with her and she appreciates someone that can actually visit her.

Problem is she never wants him to leave. Chang'e has been alone for a long time. She never really got used to being by herself. Yes she has her rabbits but she misses other people, specially celestials.

Chang'e tries her hardest to make sure Wukong doesn't leave. She'll distract him with her rabbits, offer to teach him a new recipe, or have him tell her the drama that she's missed out on.

Wukong doesn't mind spending a while longer with her but he does have to leave eventually. He has to take care if the baby monkies after all.

My headcanon that I would probably make art for is that Chang'e is so desperate for interation that she tries to keep Wukong with her as much as possible. Sometimes he stays, sometimes he leaves.

Both Wukong and Chang'e are lonely so the like to be lonely together.

I just miss Chang'e and I like Eclipse duo and these two are just cool and we need more Chang'e content. ☀🌙

Ever since I discovered your Ghost Macaque au I’ve been wondering…since Wukong is a streamer does the viewers know about ghost macaque? Or whether if the camera picks up some strange movements whenever he goes across?

It must be said that Liu Er usually doesn’t interfere much with Wukong’s streams well he tries to attract his attention with falling objects, whispers and touches, but Wukong tries to ignore everything while broadcasting live

and the camera usually reacts with slight interference to Liu Er

The Wukongverse isn't a linear au/story, so they just hang out whenever.

That being said, if Dawn/LMK!SWK experiences the Stone Matriarch au and all that it implies...
