regulus who drunkenly casts a forbidden love spell on his crush of 4 years who also happens to be the gryffindor golden boy and his brother’s best friend, only to wake up to the dreadful memory of what he did, the lack of an anti-love spell in any of the forbidden books, and an infatuated james potter who keeps following him around the castle in hopes to take him on a date

turns out, there is no anti-love spell but an anti-love potion. which is very difficult to make. in the meantime, he agrees to go on a date with james because would it really hurt to enjoy it a little bit while it lasts? but the date was at the magic lake in the forest, and regulus couldn’t possibly know the magic waters would wash off the spell (descendants inspired part oop)

james starts feeling weird, not less in love, but weird. so he goes to madam pomfrey to see if everything is okay. after some tests, she detects some remains of a love spell in his brain, and she lets him know. after lots of thinking, james understands what had happened.

when regulus finally manages to make the potion and gives it to him, he expects things to change immediately but nothing happens. foolish of him to think that james wasn’t already in love with him before the spell.

I just saw someone say that Evan has a pet bat so here i am thinking about what pets the skittles would have

I absolutely 100% agree to Evan having a pet bat. Its simply the most PERFECT thing ever.

Regulus definitely owns a cat, and it is a mirror of him. When Regulus is pissed off and angry, the cat is pissed of and angry. When he's feeling good, the cat is feeling good.

Barty is the type of guy to own a very poisonous snake (idk any snakes sadly, im not rlly in the scene), but he would be like "whaaat, this snake isnt poisonous, its totally undangerous and totally safe to play with!!". But he would go into the woods with it and let it haunt little animals as a way of feeding it, even though Dorcas told him multiple times that it's dangerous and the snake could run off, yet that never happend because the snake loves Barty and the skittles so much and trust them.

Dorcas would totally have a crow. It seems unusual at first but she loves having a little spy to stalk people *cough* marlene *cough*, and i imagine she trained it to deliver letters and packages just like owls. Dorcas in general is a stereotypical witch and would only be half of herself without her -in fact from time to time violent- crow

Pandora is a person to have lots of insects. She's obsessing over anything thats small and crawling. She definitely own several butterflies, an ant colony, and a bunch of bees that she lets free on the school grounds and from which she gets the best honey. Also Pandora picks up every bug she finds interesting and takes it home with her, just to study it and make it its own terrarium. She would watch her insects and bugs day and night and everyone else would just go "wtf is wrong with her"

Hi yall. So I have finally calmed down from my sobbing crying. Yes I’m a dramatic person. No I’m not being dramatic when I say I sobbed. Art heist baby was an experience and I will never be the same. So if you know me (talking to you @kiwibirb1 ) and I start tearing up because I saw or ate and orange muffin, looked at my picture of the gathering storm painting, am normally drinking tea, or looking at shudders. I have my reasons.

That’s was to much but it was amazing and some really really amazing writing. I will always feel so much emotion towards fictional characters and knowing that I can’t show them that breaks my heart.

This will make no sense, and it's why it didn't happen.

But when I first started writing Choices, like at the very, very start. I had this vague idea that Regulus and James were going to spend the summer together (between fifth and sixth year) not like, the WHOLE summer, obviously, but at some point they were going to meet up in the Muggle world and James was gonna be like, "see? we're just kids. we can just be kids. we can have fun and be silly. I can take you to the beach."

And it was gonna be real cute and nice and ultimately very sad when Regulus goes back to Grimmauld and they never really have that again.

Anyway, didn't really work out logistically, but that was definitely in my head for a while. SO here is a tiny snippet:

James stands on the corner of a busy road, people and cars rushing past him as he waits - hands in his pockets, dark sunglasses covering his face. They might be Sirius's, he isn't sure.

Kids are running along the pavement with their parents shouting after them, a group of girls walking by and giving James a once over. He smiles at them and they giggle.

He loves the summer. When time feels endless. No longer in a hurry, no longer with anywhere to be. One day melting into the next. Nothing feels like it matters.

Which isn't true of course.

But he can pretend can't he?

The minute Regulus comes into view James feels his heart tumble. It takes everything in him to stay where he is, to not run towards him. He can't help it. There's something between them - a string. A chain. A hand that grabs hold of James and yanks. That says

come here.

Over here.

Why are you so far away when we were meant to always be together?

When we were meant to fill one another in?

"Hi," James straightens up as Regulus stops in front of him, eyes nervously darting around, shoulders tense. He looks pale, and maybe like he's lost weight since the last time James saw him. It's only been three weeks.

"I shouldn't be here."

"Reg."

"This was a stupid idea."

"Reg."

"They'll know. They'll know. I shouldn't be here," and then, looking James over coldly before his eyes dart away again. "I'm surprised Sirius let you out of his sight."

James doesn't bother pointing out that him and Sirius have spent most of this summer out of one another's sight. Doesn't want to get into it. Not right now.

"Hey," he says softly, voice slipping beneath the noise of the busy street. He wants to reach out. But he doesn't. "Would you look at me? Please?"

There's a moment, when James thinks that maybe he won't. That he might just turn around and walk away. James was never afraid of being left before he fell in love with Regulus Black.

But Regulus doesn't.

Leave that is.

Grey eyes dart up to meet James's. And he sees it, there, hiding beneath the fear and bitterness. He sees the want.

James tries to smile. "I've missed you."

Regulus keeps holding his gaze, and James can see his throat work as he swallows. "Yeah. Yeah I've...yeah me too."

James quirks his brow. "You've missed me?"

Regulus rolls his eyes. "Are you going to make me say it?"

"Obviously."

The younger boy shakes his head, curls tickling his ears as he bites down on a smile. "I've missed you," and then, closing his eyes. "I always miss you."

James's breath catches. And somehow, right there, right in the middle of the busy street, the world goes quiet. And everything is made of them.

Regulus sways into James's space, and the older boy holds perfectly still, waiting. Wanting. When Regulus finally rests his forehead against James's chest his whole body shudders, weeks of tension draining out of him until he's giving James his whole weight.

"Can I--"

"Please."

James's arms come around Regulus instantly, pulling him close, holding him tight.

"Hey, hi," he says, dropping his face into Regulus's curls. "I'm so glad you came."

"I shouldn't have," Regulus murmurs. "Fuck James I don't know what I'm doing. But I shouldn't be here. You need to stop wanting me to be."

James's chest aches but he ignores it. "Sorry, can't do that."

"James--"

"So I'm thinking," he says, kissing the top of Regulus's head, though he probably shouldn't. They're in public and people can be weird about this sort of thing. He thinks he sees an old woman across the street giving them dirty looks.

Fuck it.

He kisses Regulus again.

"Beach?"

Regulus looks up at him. "Beach?"

"You ever been? They have like rides and sweets and...beach, obviously."

A dry smirk pulls at Regulus's mouth. "Obviously."

James smiles back, giving him a squeeze. "Come on Reg, come to the beach with me yeah? Lets just...lets just have fun. For once."

Regulus is staring at him, and try as he might, James can't work out what he's thinking. What that look in his eyes means.

Please, he doesn't say, though he wants to. Desperately.

Please let us have this.

After a few more seconds Regulus pulls away, though James almost doesn't let him. He watches as the younger boy straightens himself out, pulling his shoulders back, the veneer of respectability sliding into place.

Please.

"Okay," Regulus says finally, giving James a shy kind of smile that the older boy doesn't know if he's ever seen before. "Lets go to the beach."

James's happiness is so bright it hurts.
