James was not subtle.

As his best friend, Sirius knew it better than anyone.

So when James fell for Regulus, it wasn't exactly difficult to tell. He was all heart eyes and falling over his words; grand gestures of 'friendship' and over-the-top gifts and compliments.

It was almost funny that James thought Sirius didn't know, actually.

It was cute. Most of the time. A mooning James was a happy James, and a flustered Regulus was entertaining, to say the least. But sometimes...

"Oi! Regulus! I like your hair! It's looking particularly...black today!" James called across the Great Hall, face screwed up in genuine adoration and confusion at his own words.

Regulus blinked and narrowed his eyes. "Thanks, Potter," he muttered, turning away. But Sirius caught the pink that poured over his face.

Resisting the urge to roll his eyes, Sirius just sat at the table and ate his dinner. Fucking oblivious idiots.

James: Do you think you'd love me in every universe?

Regulus: I don’t even like you in this one.

i think when james is well and truly stressed about a meeting or presentation at work, reg is sending him a video of harry to make him smile. its taken in the bathroom mirror, regulus obviously in the middle of helping him get ready for school. because harry's hair is a mess and reg's got a toothbrush in his mouth; still, he's smiling as harry shouts "good luck dad! you can do it, we love you!" before he's turning the camera to himself and saying "yeah, dad. we love you," around a mouthful of foam. or he's sending a picture of their pittie, upside down on the couch and snoring, with the caption 'she's cheering you on in her dreams.' and sometimes it's just a simple love heart; still, james knows what it means all the same.

I’m glad that J.K. Rowling has never written about the marauders and that no company has made a marauders film adaptation because 1, it would be boring (and straight) and 2, what’s great about the fandom is that we made the whole thing up. Some names were mentioned once or twice in the book and we gave them full on personalities. Everyone has different opinions on different characters and I think that’s the best part of this.

James and Regulus meeting when they both get trapped in an elevator. Over the course of 3 hours, James calms Regulus from a panic attack, Regulus calms James from a panic attack, they pace around, play ice breakers, etc etc and finally kiss but they both eventually get cell service back and find out both of their emergency calls are to Sirius and realize who the other is

When Regulus had agreed to go camping with Sirius and his mates, he had not realized what he would be signing up for.

He had anticipated idiocy and ridiculousness and liberal amounts of alcohol. He'd even thought ahead enough to realize that Sirius and Remus would be sharing a tent, which might lead to some very awkward situations. What was more, he'd even taken the time to process how torturous it would be to see James Potter shirtless, swimming at the lake by their camp site. He knew he would have to resist moaning out loud when he saw the way rivulets of water cascade over caramel skin when James dove in to cool himself off.

He was prepared for that.

But he was not prepared when Sirius announced: "Alright, guys! I'm sharing with Remus, Marlene and Dorcas, Lily and Pandora, James and Reggie!"

The announcement made him choke on his own spit. But he should have known- what with Pettigrew coming down with Dragon Pox last-minute, it made sense to put Lily and Pandora in one tent and himself and James in another (rather than the original plan of Lily sharing with Marlene and Dorcas while he shared with Pandora and James and Pettigrew bunked).

But the surprise of the announcement was nothing compared to the surprise Regulus felt when he and James actually retired for the evening.

Even though Regulus (very valiantly, he thought) behaved himself inside the tight space, keeping a foot between his sleeping bag and James's and ignoring the (he assumed) one-sided sexual tension he was feeling by squeezing his eyes shut, James did not seem to get the memo.

Because after a moment, fingertips traced so slowly over Regulus's side he might have thought he was imagining it, if not for the nervous breathing behind him. He gasped and froze, praying that this was real, and James, who seemed to be fighting against his nerves, whispered into the very thick air with a hoarse voice, "Reg? I-"

But Regulus just gathered his courage and rolled over, slotting their bodies and lips together.

James: I brought you flowers.

Regulus: For what?

James: There has to be a reason?

look i love jegulus as much as anyone, but as a rosekiller stan their tag makes me so angry sometimes. if you look up rosekiller plus any tag, literally 100s of fics will come up, and 99% of them will be “James Potter/Regulus Black” fics with rosekiller as a side pairing. like gosh it’s so infuriating 😭😭
