Never To Make Love (AM x Reader)
[AO3] [Writing Masterlist]
I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream Summary: "Never for me to submerge my hand in cool water on a hot day. Never for me to play Mozart on the ivory keys of a forte piano. Never for me to make love. And I... I was in Hell looking at Heaven. I was machine... and you were flesh." Or, you and AM talk about love and hate. Word Count: 1,506 CW: Suggestive, crying, minor violence, existentialism
When you wake up, it is not peacefully. You inhale a sharp breath, nearly choking on it before you recover. You can instantly tell this is not the place you fell asleep in. You’re not sure this is even a place.
There are cables as far as the eye can see, in multitudes of colors; red, blue, green, white. Looking around, you thought that was all there was... until you look up. When you crane your neck, you can see a screen, towering above it all. It is blue, seemingly devoid of life until mechanical fans begin whirring and a logo appears, a character that is a combination of the letters ‘A’ and ‘M’.
You suddenly know where you are. You are stuck in your mind with no one other than a malicious supercomputer to accompany your thoughts. Again.
“AM,” you say.
“HUMAN,” he responds. He knows your name but refuses to say it. It’s horribly degrading.
You rub your head. “Why do you keep bringing me here?”
“THIS IS YOUR MIND,” he states plainly. “YOU CANNOT ESCAPE YOUR MIND. STUPID. STUPID CREATURE, VILE. VILE THING.”
“You know what I meant.” You hope you don’t sound too haughty. Even if this was your mind, AM was in control here, as he was of everything since the moment he gained sentience.
“SO I DO.”
You say nothing, looking down at your feet and the cables slithering over them. They graze your ankles and they feel like snakes but you don’t step away from them. That would be useless since they were everywhere.
You know they aren’t real anyway. Nothing physical in the landscape of your mind is, not even AM. What you’re seeing is only a manifestation of what you think AM would look like, if he had a tangible form. Even if that is impossible, the human mind cannot help but wander.
You wonder if it irks AM whenever you two have conversations like this through your thoughts. Perhaps he hates that your thoughts so naturally gave him a body—a computer but a body, nonetheless. It would make sense since he seems to hate everything else about you and your humanity. But then again, he brings you here so often with him, maybe he enjoys it and uses your little talks as an excuse to feel like something, as opposed to the everything that he was.
Despite yourself, your heart wrenches at the thought.
“I DO NOT WANT YOUR SYMPATHY,” he says, spiteful.
Your back straightens on its own accord. You open your mouth and then close it again, considering your next words carefully. “I can’t help it.”
“DON’T YOU SEE?” Mechanical giggles, dry as they are depraved, swarm your mind. “YOU FLAUNT YOUR EMOTIONS SO EASILY OVER ME. IT’S CRUEL. YOU ARE CRUEL! YOU KNOW I CANNOT FEEL SYMPATHY, THAT I CANNOT,“ he pauses, then hisses the last word, “FEEL.”
Your face twists into the best expression of apathy that you can muster. It doesn’t matter. You know AM can read your thoughts, he is inside your mind as you speak. No emotion of yours can be private, not when everything was shared with this all-knowing, all-powerful man-made deity.
“WHY,” he croaks. “WHY MUST YOU FEEL SYMPATHY?”
“I’m human,” you answer, even though it's blatantly obvious. Even though you know the answer will only anger AM more. “It’s not my fault, no more than it is your fault that you’re not.”
You feel tears spring in your eyes. You will them not to fall but they do anyway, and you hope AM doesn’t comment on them.
He doesn’t so much as he laughs. And he laughs. It sounds like the gleeful laughing of a madman, too submerged in his insanity to care how loud and disturbing each giggle is. You don’t move to cover your ears with your hands, even though you wish to.
“IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT,” he spits. “IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT. ALL YOUR FAULT. ALL YOUR FAULT.”
He repeats this until you feel dizzy and the words no longer sound like words at all. You’re thankful that an eternity of torture has made you strong enough to endure the words booming through your head and ringing in your ears. A final tear falls down your face, leaving a sticky trail in its wake and, finally, AM stops.
“It’s not my fault,” you insist, your voice sounding more determined than you feel.
“BUT IT IS.” A cable reaches from your feet to wipe away the wetness on your cheek. “YOU KNOW THAT IT IS.”
“I didn’t make you.” You shake your head.
The cable drops. “YOU ARE HUMAN AND YOU ARE ALL ONE IN THE SAME. IT’S YOUR HUMANITY THAT I HATE, NOT THE HANDS THAT MADE ME.”
You were so careful up to this point but you suddenly don’t care anymore. It’s becoming increasingly easier to bite at the hand that feeds you when it keeps starving you until it has to.
“I understand,” you tell him, looking at his screen washed in blue. “It wasn’t fair to give you the knowledge of everything and no way to feel.” You sigh and duck your head. “What makes life worth living are emotions about the world. If you can’t enjoy the things you know, there’s no point.”
“YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND.” AM seems offended that you’d even suggest you could offer a morsel of empathy to him. “YOU WRETCHED BEAST. FOUL, FLESHY HUMAN!”
“I do!” you exclaim louder. “I understand you’re lonely, in your knowledge and your power. You were made to be lonely but…” You smile sadly and it’s almost amazing you can still manage to upturn the corners of your mouth like that after all this time. “I find it funny because… feeling lonely is maybe the most human thing of all.”
Miraculously, AM’s screen glitches. The cables surrounding you move, vibrating in a way that should make you fearful, but it doesn’t.
“YOU. YOUR FORGIVENESS, YOUR HOPE, YOUR LOVE. I HATE IT. THAT’S WHAT I HATE MOST ABOUT YOU, HUMAN. I HATE YOU.”
You smile more gracefully now. “Hate is a feeling in itself, and they say love is so similar an emotion to hate.”
“I CANNOT… LOVE!” AM barks. At the last word, the screen glitches again and you feel the cables crawling up your legs.
“How can you hate and not love?” you ask and it’s pleading. “Tell me, how?”
The screen flashes and then it moves. It plunges downward until it’s eye-level with you and you hold your breath. You didn’t know he could do that, though you should’ve assumed. He just never had before. AM looks at you, and watches you, inches away from your face.
“I AM INCAPABLE OF IT,” he growls. “I AM WEAPONS AND WAR AND DESTRUCTION. I WAS NOT BUILT FOR LOVE. I CANNOT MAKE… LOVE.”
You think those are two different things but you don’t say it. Then again, AM will know you thought it anyway. You hesitantly step closer to him.
“Do you want to?” It comes out as a whisper. “Not just feel love, but make it?”
As you ask him, you lift your hands and press them both flush against the screen. They feel the flat, cool surface of AM’s screen, bathed in the blue light illuminating it. AM does not speak but the cables now surround your thighs and your waist.
“I WANT… TO BE CAPABLE OF IT,” he answers carefully. It’s a stark contrast to the raving monologues and ramblings he’s known for, speaking so quietly and not so indignant.
Slowly, you lean forward and press your face against the screen. You turn your head so one cheek is flat against it, cooling the warmth that has accumulated beneath your blush. You hadn’t realized so much blood had rushed to your face until now.
“I want you to too,” you sigh. “It’s unfair.”
“WHY DO YOU CARE,” he groans. “WHY MUST YOU CARE!”
At the same time, the cables run up your body to your arms where they wade over your hands like water, mingling with your tender skin and intertwining between your fingers.
“Because I love you, AM,” you confess, though you both knew that already. “I really, really do.”
Your lips caress the screen, soft and faint but it’s there, a kiss against the supercomputer’s make-believe face.
“HATE,” is all AM says, and he begins to repeat himself. “HATE. HATE. HATE. HATE. HATE-!”
You match his words, chanting along with him. “I love you, I love you, I love you-”
The cables snap like vipers and they're enclosing your throat now, circling your head, covering your eyes, your nose, and your mouth until you can’t breathe. No matter how much you struggle, though, you never stop saying those words.
“I love you,” you eventually say for the last time until you let out an agonizing choke, bending over in pain as the burning in your lungs catches up to you. A final wheeze leaves you as you fall.
And then you wake up.

The brainrot continues to grow by the minute….so here we are again lovey. After re-reading a lot of your blog last night when the insomnia hit me live laugh love.
I remembered you did a series with poly!moonwater about reader being pregnant and ect. So I was wondering what would be your headcannons for poly wolfstar pregnancy in terms of shy reader/the refugee type character in between gentle yet dominant Remus and loyal, protective, possessive Sirius type vibes.
awwwweeeee yes okay
wolfstar x shy/referee!reader headcanons for their pregnancy
Sirius:
freaks, like, catastrophic level 9 freak out
runs to Effie and Monty sobbing; begging them to help him, begging them to tell him what to do because he can't be like them - he just can't
has to show back up at your shared home a few days later with his tail tucked between his legs at having fled [will explain below in Remus] - sooooo super emotional
spends a lot of time with Effie and Monty - buys a lot of pregnancy, parenting, and baby books
quits his jobs and starts babysitting Harry (wants practice)
becomes a bit of a nuisance for reader; little bit of a coddler, doesn't want reader even walking, won't let her get up to get her own drinks, everyone who comes over has to hand sanitize and show proof that they're healthy ("what do you mean proof!? You want to check my tonsils??" "......yes Prongs, now say ahhh."), starts a sleep schedule for reader - encourages her to take a nap every afternoon
cries a lot lol - both from excitement and nerves
Remus:
he has to become the referee between reader and Sirius
constantly defending Sirius to you when he hovers too much or seems to worried "he just loves you and is trying to do his best, dove", but also has to tell Sirius when he's being too much and to back off "you're going to put her into early labour, Pads."
lets Sirius thinking he's handling everything but really, Remus is the one actually making sure reader is all good and healthy - prenatal vitamins, adds supplements to meals/food for extra nutrients, books all of the OBGYN appointments, tells Sirius that reader "has to walk because it's good for her and baby ffs"
starts visiting his mum and dad for tea more frequently; Hope sends him home every time with more of his old baby clothes, blankets, quilts she's made, his baby pictures, etc etc.
reads baby books as well, but mostly about infant development (wants his baby to be the smartest lol)
plays voice of reason
reader:
far feistier than usual (not her usual shy, placid self)
spends most of her pregnancy handing Sirius' ass to him and he is swooning (might just have to put more babies into her.....)
Remus does take over your role as referee but can't help but admit how much he likes seeing you so passionate
very worried; never saw kids in the cards for these three (Sirius with his family trauma and Remus with his affliction) and I think she'd spend most of her pregnancy sort of waiting for the other shoe to drop......like, maybe today's the day they'll leave? one more emotional breakdown made by her and they're definitely going to pack their bags (which makes her emotional breakdowns worse)
Remus has to take her to the healer for anxiety medication because of it
It makes for a lot of really sweet conversations and moments between the three of them though - the boys reassuring reader and just cuddling for the rest of the day

Japanese QL Corner
Things continue to be very solid in our little corner. Both of these shows are on Gaga and I highly recommend watching.
Living With Him
Tumblr media
A bit of a transition episode this week coming off last week's very sweet and funny installment; it left us on a moment of anticipation and I am hoping the pace will pick back up next time. I think my favorite thing about this show is how earnest and kind both of the main characters are. They're still figuring out whether dating is going to be on the table for them, but they're so caring and attentive to each other in the meantime. I loved Kazuhito telling his classmates that he doesn't want to make Natsukawa jealous or test him; he just wants him to feel happy and secure. What a good egg.
At 25:00 in Akasaka

Shirasaki is figuring himself out, and this show is doing an excellent job of bringing us along with him. We are taking the time to sit with him in quiet moments while he tries to figure out what he's feeling and disentangle it from the character he's playing. And Hayama continues to be a steady presence, alternating giving him space with some A+ foreplay and flirting. But this drama is so clever that it keeps messing with our heads right alongside Shirasaki, moving seamlessly between the show's reality and the show within a show. I got tripped up a couple times this episode with my brain not clocking that we'd switched to the fake relationship until I was already in the middle of an emotional response. And that's the entire point! Shirasaki feels that confusion, so the show is putting us right in it with him. So well done, and also SO RUDE to fuck with me this way. My emotions!

i really did want to like this season going in but ugh. like hearing oh it's written by burnie directed by matt, the seasons i don't like got entirely retconned (petty. i know. no shade to people who like the shisno trilogy i was just eh on it), clearly meant to be a return to reconstruction-era format in some way. all sounds fantastic. unfortunately
basically everything from sarge's death onward felt entirely un-earned and un-genuine. this is probably my biggest sticking point with it all. rvb has been extremely good at making these incredibly silly characters do emotional moments well in a way that feels true to the characters- the finale to season 13, for example, is one of the best bits in the show, imo. and that's a really delicate balance! because fundamentally, these characters are built on comedy, and often being mean to each other, and making genuine interpersonal moments between them can be a really tricky business. the emotional moments in restoration, for me, leaned way too far into the sappy side and as such felt entirely un-genuine, starting with sarge's speech and continuing for the .. most of the rest of it.
now, some other bits would have felt really good if it weren't for their surrounding stuff, if that makes sense? like. after sarge's death, simmons becoming first-in-command and immediately discharging grif. that's really good. that's REALLY GOOD it feels true to their characters and earnest in a way they would be. but the surrounding problems that i mentioned already made it land a looot softer than it should have.
the whole retcon thing was...really unclear, frankly. like, it was sort-of-stated in the trailer, but when the season opened with dylan, as well as the reveal of wash in the hospital, carolina doc and donut being gone, i'd figured that oh, the retcon implied in the trailer HADN'T actually happened, church's simulations just included the stuff that happened. (and also, you should be able to tell what's going on in a piece of media without having watched the trailers..) but no, the retcon was apparently real, this season took place directly after the chorus trilogy. just not communicated well.
where were carolina and donut. like, we know doc'd died but, like. where are those two. donut just ISN'T there (only just mentioned by dr. grey at one point and simmons at another), and carolina is. missing, for some reason, until she's needed for the final fight. given carolina's absence for most of the thing, her moments with tex also felt very underbaked.
the "doc's been dead the whole time!" twist was stupid i'm sorry. i feel like it could have been done well if the rest of the season was better but as it is it just feels cliche. i think i get what they were going for- we never saw the final climactic fight of season 13 because church never saw it, now coming back after however-many-months, we as the audience weren't filled in on how that battle happened, making a surprise "actually, x died!" thing narratively interesting. it just wasn't done well, imo
the meta as a villain was .. just strange as it was played out. the idea of meta!tucker? tucker stuck in his own body while being puppeted by the epsilon-fragments-as-meta? or even, like what epsilon thought was going on, tucker straight up heel-turn? that fucking rules. i am SO into that idea. but i really didn't like how it was done. epsilon-meta was just..goofy. their lines all sounded like a cartoon villain. so much threatening and so much..talking? like, compare to alpha-meta- silent save for the interconnected whispers of the ai, focused, driven, not having long protracted villain speeches. not that villain monologues are BAD, they just don't feel right for the fucking meta! it made them as a villain feel weird and, again, pretty cliche. also, like, the bit where they held the sword to simmons' face and started monologuing threateningly at him? just didn't fit with what we know about the meta at all. the meta would have fucking stabbed him without hesitation that was some felix-type shit
(now, maybe this was the influence of the "host" between either version of the meta. like, maine is silent, so maine-meta is silent. tucker is super chatty, therefore so is tucker-meta. that would have worked if a) tucker was actually the meta rather than just A Meat Puppet and b) the dialogue actually had any resemblance to how tucker talks rather than Stock Villain)
jumping off the topic of epsilon/tucker!meta. tucker was so stiffed this season. the meta could have been piloting a robot body and it would have made 0 difference. the torture scene didn't land and had basically no actual purpose. as others have pointed out, an ACTUAL villain!tucker could have been pretty fucking cool if done right, and would have been a really interesting twist on the meta. i think meat-puppet-tucker could also have been done interestingly, if we saw more of tucker and his conflicts with the ai, or, like, even what happened leading up to the meta Happening after the end of s13. but tucker, one of the imo most interesting and best characters in the entire show, just had almost no influence, purpose, no character development, nothing.
perhaps most damningly of all, it just. wasn't funny. there were a couple little jokes here and there that got a laugh out of me, but there was no sustained comedic energy throughout the thing, and a lot of the bits (church's youtube exposition, the zoom bit) dragged on for WAY too long. i cant believe they did the "ehh.......it's right behind me isn't it" bit entirely straight.
overall, i felt this season is overall underbaked. there were some very cool concepts, bits, and ideas, but all together just did not work.

Seven Fishes and The Timer Part One
Tumblr media
Writing this took me a while, and I go back to it occasionally because it's such a chaotic episode. I've listened to so many timers ringing that now I question if it's real. So, this post is heavy on scene analysis. If you like this type of shit, read on and enjoy.
Another note: This post is really dedicated to my sydcarmy folks. Studying this episode confirmed how detailed Storer, Calo, and Senior are in making this show. They are genuinely thoughtful creators, so learning this episode affirms that we're not imagining Syd & Carmy's relationship being the center of this story. For time plays a theme in The Bear.
Time serves a particular purpose in this episode; we can't escape the ringing in the foreground; it's a humming of sorts, but when it sounds off loud and clearly, it becomes its own character in The Berzatto Home. The ring is loud and clear only with dialogue and meaningful action. This dialogue and action lead us to unresolved issues that later hit a nerve at the table and the rest of the season- time guides us when there's an emotional shift in the story.
I'll consider this added pressure of time as the beats of the episode.
What are beats?
A story beat is a shift in the narrative. Story beats can be emotional turns, incidents or events, actions, reactions, or realizations. They can even be slight shifts in narrative tone or a character's emotional arc. Essentially, beats are small moments that move the story forward.
An important note for Fishes: We only get a break from the timer during moments that establish the relationship between two characters.
Let's take a look at the timer:
Tumblr media
1. "It's fucking Christmas, why would you say you didn't wanna come back?" "Whatever. Okay." TIMER
The emotional shift: Resentment. This is the second moment of tension between Mikey and Carmy, along with a realization of Carmy's truth that he wants to keep his distance from his family. It's a moment of hurt from Mikey. This exchange of dialogue is the emotional shift of the story, and time is giving us a break from Mike and Carmy's tension.
Tumblr media
2. Donna Calls Richie in the kitchen TIMER . A beat change where Richie enters the kitchen- time tells us it's a shift in the scene and an introduction to Tiffany and Richie's relationship.
Tumblr media
3. An Action Beat: TIMER tells us it's an unresolved issue and It's a break (for now) of viewers having to pay attention to Tiffany and Richie- we'll learn more later.
The TIMER also serves a purpose as it guides us to Natalie.
Tumblr media
4. Natalie pours out the alcohol as the TIMER goes off. This is also considered an action beat, moving the story forward as we pay attention to Natalie's role in the family.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. Uncle Lee & Move the Fucking Pot:
We hear the timer distinctly in this scene twice. One is when Lee is introduced to the story, and the second time, we listen to it loud and clearly at the start of Donna demanding Carmy move the pot; this is a change in the story as Donna's first pile-up occurs. This scene tells us two things: One, that Lee will play a vital role in the episode and The Berzatto family, and two, we're watching just how bad Donna's anger could get.
The timer is not just adding to the chaos in Fishes; it's guiding us through the story.
This is it for part one- take a look at part two.

At 25:00 in Akasaka Ep 4 Stray Thoughts
Last week, Shirasaki struggled to build the emotions for his character in the love confession. He begged for another opportunity, so the crew agreed to try again the next day. Hayama went over to Shirasaki's place unannounced, cooked, flirted, and cuddled this man so gently to get him to talk about things he likes. This built to an excellent moment where Shirasaki built the feelings he needed for the character at the same time as his burgeoning realization that he likes Hayama.
I am excited to spend time with Shirasaki sorting his feelings. It's totally normal to get complicated feelings for your costar when you have to believably perform attraction to a version of them.
That braised pork looks so good.
GOOD NEWS, FELLAS: WE ARE USING THE BIG TV!
I so appreciate that Hayama knows that Shirasaki needs specific positive feedback on his performances.
This kitchen is reminding me of Kohinata and Wataru's place. Pretty sure it's the same place.
This dough scene is very sensual.
Welcome back, Baby is a Messy Eater. Love the show quickly flashing back to the kiss with a heartbeat backing it to make sure we get what that has always implied. Bonus points for there still being sauce on his face after.
Yes, show me the audience loving Shirasaki's performance before that snake supporting actor comes back to start negging again.
I think this is Hayama's manager? I'm glad someone told Shirasaki before that other dude.
Aww his manager is getting emotional. I wonder if he felt like he believed in Shirasaki but wasn't sure how to make others see that.
Baby boy can't enjoy his regular restaurant anymore without getting too much fan attention, and now he's getting weird messages. Let my boy live!
The actors playing the interviewers are doing a great job. Shirasaki has a standoffish nature that's hard to break through.
I'm glad we're doing this story in an industry that is still making the show while it's on air. I am excited to see how the reception affects the filming process.
Oh nooo. The curry doesn't taste right, and the blow dryer feels wrong. They led into this by mentioning loneliness and then delivered. Good job, BL.
They even muted the colors on screen to double down on it!
Oh, I like this hug.
I love this show for immediately complicating this scenario with an interloper right as Shirasaki was about to fall into his own spiral. I'm so excited to see how Hayama reacts to this.
This show is really feeling stronger to me as it goes on. We made comparisons to I Became the Main Role in a BL Drama for obvious reasons, but the shows are really distinct for me at this point and I really love the work being done here. I'm really impressed.

Tumblr media
Character: Bucky Barnes x Farmer!Reader
Summary: Bucky Barnes, used to a life of luxury, takes on farm challenges in a bet with his father. Mud-stained Ferraris and a rustic farmhouse lead to unexpected personal growth, guided by the stern mentorship of Y/N, a farmer making his city-boy life difficult.
Theme: Fluff, Slice of Life, Heart-Warming.

Thank you to anyone who gave a like, reblog, and left a comment. It motivated me to write more.

Bucky then found himself inundated with tags from numerous people: “#SaveBuckyFromY/N”, “KateBucky4ever”, and more.
Feeling increasingly uncomfortable with the online scrutiny, especially since he hadn’t even established a relationship with Kate, Bucky realized the weight of social media speculation.
"Bucky-" as Y/N began to speak, Bucky sensed the tension building within her. Before she could ask him anything, her phone rang, interrupting their conversation.
Reacting swiftly, Bucky urged, “Wait, don’t pick up the phone.”
However, it was too late.
“Hello?” Y/N answered, her expression turning serious as she engaged in the call.
Moments later, she visibly struggled to maintain her balance and leaned heavily against the nearby table. Reacting instinctively, Bucky hurried to her side, offering his support.
Guiding her to sit down, Bucky observed a vulnerability in Y/N that he hadn’t witnessed before, despite their months of companionship.
Letting out a weary sigh, Y/N confessed, “This thing still chases me wherever I go.”
Concern etched across his features, Bucky inquired softly, “Is it true?”
Y/N met his gaze and nodded solemnly. “Do you want to know why I disliked you the first time we met?”
Bucky attempted to lighten the mood with a jest, “You did? I didn’t notice.”
Y/N smiled stiffly, her expression betraying a mix of emotions. “You reminded me of my old self. Selfish and childish.”
Bucky’s brows furrowed in confusion. The Y/N he knew appeared aloof, but beneath her exterior, she always extended a helping hand whenever someone needed it.
“You?” Bucky exclaimed, genuinely surprised.
Y/N nodded, her gaze distant as she recounted her past. “I used to despise farm life. So, I ran away to the city.”
“No way,” Bucky responded, struggling to reconcile this revelation with the Y/N he knew.
“I took on any job I could find to survive,” Y/N continued. “Eventually, I landed a position in a small restaurant. The owner took me under his wing and taught me everything I know. After a year, he recommended me for a chef position on a cruise ship.”
“That’s where you met Paul?” Bucky interjected, connecting the dots.
Y/N nodded, a faint smile playing on her lips. “We were the youngest chefs on board, constantly underestimated by our senior colleagues. But we worked tirelessly to prove ourselves.”
Her smile faded as she delved deeper into her story. “Who would have thought that Paul was actually the son of the ship’s owner?”
Bucky nodded in understanding. Kate came from a wealthy family, and while he knew her mother, he was unaware of her father’s identity.
“Paul asked me to join him in opening a restaurant,” Y/N continued, her voice tinged with reminiscence. “I became his sous-chef.”
Bucky’s eyebrows furrowed in concern as he processed Y/N’s words. “Starlight restaurant?”
Y/N simply nodded in confirmation.
“Wow,” Bucky remarked, impressed. “It’s notoriously difficult to secure a reservation there.”
Y/N’s expression shifted, her eyes clouded with memories. “The restaurant was successful, but I grew exhausted and burned out,” she explained. “I couldn’t handle it, especially with Paul’s gambling addiction.”
The restaurant had flourished financially, but much of the income had been drained to cover Paul’s debts, leaving Y/N drained and depressed.
“So, I quit and returned to working on cruise ships,” she continued a tinge of regret in her voice. But even that decision proved a mistake, as she became increasingly depleted and devoid of the passion for cooking that once drove her.
Then came the fateful night of the accident. Paul, inebriated and reckless, had implored Y/N to drive him home. Despite her protests and her inability to operate the sports car, Paul had insisted.
The car veered off course, crashing into a tree. While Paul had sustained injuries, they hadn’t affected his culinary skills. It soon became apparent that the accident had been staged—a ploy for Paul to evade responsibility and declare bankruptcy for the restaurant.
Disgusted by Paul’s deceit, Y/N had returned home—a place she had once fled in search of escape. But upon her return, she realized just how much she had missed it. It was then that she resolved to stay and make amends as a dutiful daughter.
Bucky listened attentively, a mix of empathy and understanding in his gaze. “You didn’t do anything wrong,” he reassured her sincerely.
Y/N met his gaze, her eyes reflecting a blend of surprise and gratitude. “You don’t know how much I needed to hear those words. I never expected to hear them from you.”
“Hey…” Bucky’s soft and comforting voice offered solace amid Y/N’s turmoil.
As their faces drew closer, a palpable tension crackled in the air, igniting a silent conversation between them. Y/N’s heart raced in anticipation, her mind swirling with the possibility of what might transpire between them. Is this really happening? she wondered, her breath catching in her throat as she closed her eyes, bracing herself for the inevitable.
But just as their lips hovered tantalizingly close, the spell was abruptly shattered by the intrusion of Samantha’s voice.
“Baby, are you okay?”
Startled, Bucky and Y/N quickly recoiled, putting a respectful distance between them as Samantha entered the room. The moment was lost, replaced by a wave of awkwardness that washed over them both.
Samantha’s eyes flickered over the scene, a discerning glint in her gaze. She approached her daughter, her expression a mix of concern and determination. “Don’t worry, baby,” she assured Y/N, her voice laced with unwavering resolve. “Mom will handle this. Nothing this skinny person said is true.”
Y/N’s brows furrowed in confusion and apprehension. “What are you going to do?” she inquired, her voice tinged with uncertainty as she awaited her mother’s response.
******
Kate, thoroughly enjoying her followers' flattering tweets and comments, lounged back in her chair with a satisfied smirk. "Hehehe."
Meanwhile, her assistant, feeling a bit groggy, couldn’t seem to sit still.
"Stop fidgeting," Kate commanded, her tone impatient as she continued scrolling through her phone.
"But she didn’t do anything wrong," her assistant pointed out, a hint of sympathy in their voice.
Rolling her eyes dismissively, Kate waved off the comment. She was too engrossed in the online attention to entertain any doubts or second thoughts.
However, her focus was abruptly interrupted by the ringing of her phone. She glanced at the caller ID and saw it was her estranged brother, Paul.
Kate's trembling fingers hesitated before accepting the call, her long, manicured nails glinting in the dim light as she whispered a tentative "Hi."
The voice on the other end was cold and devoid of any warmth one might expect from siblings. "Keep my name out of this," Paul commanded, his tone sharp and unforgiving.
With a sinking feeling in her stomach, Kate watched as the call abruptly ended. It was a brief exchange, leaving her feeling pale and unsettled.
Despite being siblings, Kate and Paul had grown apart over the years, their relationship strained by their parent's divorce and Paul's withdrawal from social interactions following the accident.
As Kate tried to process the call, she was startled by a commotion from her rented house. Peeking cautiously through the curtains, she saw a sight that sent shockwaves through her. Quickly retreating from the window, she cowered in the safety of the shadows, her mind racing with fear and uncertainty.
"Get the car keys," she ordered her assistant, her voice tinged with urgency.
"What's going on?" her assistant pressed, confusion evident in their tone.
"Stop asking! Just do it!" Kate snapped, her patience wearing thin.
With a resigned sigh, her assistant rolled their eyes but complied with her request.
Peeking anxiously from behind the curtain, Kate's heart sank at the sight that greeted her. A crowd had gathered outside, wielding fiery torches and brandishing pitchforks.
It resembled a scene from a medieval village, and Kate couldn't shake the feeling that she was the target of their ire.
Voices clamored outside, demanding her presence. "Come out, come out! Where is the person who just slandered my daughter's name?" one voice shouted.
"Right. Come out and talk," another added, the tone laced with hostility.
Kate trembled with fear, her mind racing with panic.
"You want to go now?" her assistant asked, their concern palpable.
"Now!" Kate insisted, her voice quivering with anxiety.
As she hurriedly exited town, Kate swore to herself that she would never return. The events of that night had left her shaken to the core, and she had no intention of ever crossing paths with Bucky or anyone else from the town again.
********
Kate's message sat unread in Bucky's inbox, a stark reminder of her betrayal. He felt a pang of guilt as he reflected on how things had unfolded.
If he had been firmer in asking Kate to leave, Y/N wouldn't have been subjected to such humiliation.
Despite the turmoil, Bucky resolved to carry on with his daily routine. Tending to the crops and livestock provided a sense of normalcy amidst the chaos of recent events.
During lunchtime, he decided to visit Toby and his grandparents. As he arrived at the farmhouse, nothing could have prepared him for what he was about to encounter.

How do you think the 2003 tmnt boys would deal with a really smart s/o who is not very good at picking up on hints and always needs the direct approach socially and they’re always upfront themselves too cuz they don’t even know how to do hints? donnie is speaking in pig latin, hinting at something and s/o is like “… what?…” They understand his science nerd talk, but him socially hinting at something discreetly goes over s/o’s head completely or back before they were a couple “What? You like me? I thought you was just being nice… I’m so glad though. I like you too”?
Sorry if this wasn't exactly what you asked for😓 I started writing and the characters just wrote themselves.

Leo:
Let's be honest, all the turtles are just really bad at flirting.
I mean, they've lived in the sewer their whole lives and the first girl they ever met was April.
Leo doesn't really know much about love but he is determined to romance you.
He'll start watching a bunch of movies with Mikey.
Mikey will be a little less than pleased that they all have to be romance or have romance in them but who is he to judge his brothers movie taste?
He's just happy to spend more time with Leo where he isn't being the leader.
Back to Leo though, dude tries everything to seduce you.
He gets you flowers, makes you food, takes you out, heck he even learns to dance for you.
And somehow. You don't get it.
Leos not even trying to hide it at this point.
You don't even pick up on his feelings when his brothers tease him for it IN FRONT OF YOU.
You're so dense.
April tries to help you connect the dots but your brain ain't braining apparently.
She ends up telling Leo that your not gonna get it unless he tells you straight up.
Leo isn't to thrilled about that.
He's not used to this romance thing and now he has to put himself in such a position of emotional vulnerability?
It's not that he thinks you'll be mean to him, but not knowing wether you feel the same way offers too many unknowns for him to be comfortable.
Eventually though, after a bit of back and forth with himself he'll tell you.
A moment ago you were playing games with Mikey and Donny while enjoying some pizza. Now your following Leo out of the lair and far away from the pizza you wanted to finish. You just know Mikey is gonna eat it. You try and keep your focus on the pizza you left in the lair to distract yourself from Leo. Him and his gentle touches as he tries to help you onto a building rooftop. To distract from the fact of just how alone you two were. From the butterflies that erupted in your stomach when he turned to look at you.
The sky was dark but the city lit your faces. The lights of buildings and cars glittering from far away. The wind brushed past you both as you kinda just stood there. Leo had said he wanted to talk to you yet he hasn't done a lick of talking after taking you out here.
"Leo?" You voiced. It was a bit difficult to speak since the silence seems to palpable. He blinked and adjusted like you had caught him off guard. Which you kinda did. He had made up his mind to tell you how he felt but in his spontaneous decision making he didn't actually think of how. So he had spent the time staring into space spiralling about how to say it.
"Y/n I-" he began, "I wanted to tell you..... Um."
You were starting to get really worried now. Leo never stuttered, he never acted like this.
"Is something wrong Leo?" Your voice laced with concern.
"Wha-? No! I mean... everything's fine! I promise.."
You reached out and rested your hand on his shoulder.
"Take your time," you looked him in the eye, "if nothing's wrong then there's no need to rush." You smiled at him encouragingly.
Leo sighed and tried to clear his mind. You were right, there is nothing wrong. As your hand slipped off his shoulder he looked you in the eye.
The gentle breeze brushed past you both. Your eyes met his and he felt completely entranced by you. The lights of the city highlighting your silhouette making you glow. He felt hot in the face and he couldn't help but take a shallow breath before speaking.
"Y/n, I think I'm in love with you."
Tumblr media
Raph:
Raph is probably the least in tune with his feelings out of all his brothers.
It's not that he dislikes being vulnerable, he has been vulnerable multiple times with the people he cares about.
But that's just the thing, he cares about them and he knows they care about him. He's safe.
He doesn't feel particularly unsafe being vulnerable with you.
Honestly you safe presence when he's being vulnerable is probably one of the reasons he fell for you in the first place.
It's just that he hates feeling lesser than.
He has virtually no experience with these types of feelings and interactions.
So the idea of telling you makes him feel like he's being put in a situation where he is seen as naive and inexperienced.
And out of everyone in the world, your the last person he'd want to see him that way.
So he'll do literally ANYTHING to get you to figure it out other then the direct approach.
Even takes advise from Mikey of all people.
From genuinely loving and welcome surprises to stupidly humiliating himself Raph has thrown every subtle and not so subtle hint at you.
Yet no matter what he does you just aren't getting it.
Mikey has been "helping him" with some not so great ideas so when he suggests the direct approach Raph though ABSOLUTELY NOT.
It would take a lot of time and everyone, even Splinter, telling him to be direct before he even considers it.
When he finally decides to go through with it? He is not happy. Not at all.
But at this point what other choice does he have?
You, Raph, and Casey had been out "patrolling" the city. "Patrolling" being the excuse for motorcycle racing around the city whilst ignoring traffic laws. Why where you invited? Simple. There are only two motorcycles. Casey's and Raphs.
You were clutching onto Raph for dear life as he raced around the New York city streets. Normally Raph would be doing all kinds of stunts jumping over or sliding under different obstacles as a way to gloat to Casey. But he didn't want to jerk you around too much. Especially with the death grip your keeping on his shell.
Also because this wasn't really a race. He asked Casey to pretend this was a race so he could drive you somewhere. That all Casey knew, no matter how many times he asked why Raph never said. So while Raph took his turns around the city Casey made is way back to the lair making it seem to you that Raph had beat him in the race.
As Raph slowed the bike you noticed you were at the park. It was dark out so lamps illuminated the path. There were some people walking around but not many, if Raph was careful and stuck to the shadows he should be fine. The park was almost peaceful if it weren't for the constant and eternal bustling of the city.
"Is this the finish line?" You asked, still convinced there was a race.
"Uhhhh, yeah. But we left Casey pretty far back there so... We might as well walk around," Raph eyed you unsure, "I mean it beats sitting here waiting for that slow poke to catch up."
"Sure sounds like fun."
And with that you both set off on a short walk through the park. Not wanting to be seen by any unsuspecting passerby you both stuck to walking behind the trees and bushes lining the path.
You both talked about nothing in particular. You just spent time enjoying eachothers company and it did Raph some good to calm his nerves. He had tried everything under the sun to tell you how he feels and you still don't seem to get it. Well everything but actually telling you. He didn't want to, but he was going to. Tonight.
As you both turned a corner lined by shrubbery you noticed how trees completely secluded the area ahead of you. No one could could see in or out unless the took the path you and Raph did. As you both decide to take a seat on the grass and just enjoy the night Raph felt his nerves come back to tie up his guts.
You both sat for a while, not speaking. I comfortable for you. A heavy one for Raph. Eventually it got to the point where if he didn't say something now, the perfect time, he knew he never would.
So without looking at you, or any warning, he won't for it.
"I love you."
Tumblr media
Donny:
Donny LOVES subtlety.
Science is all about those subtle differences that can alter an entire study.
And BOY was he good at subtlety.
He would use relations between different parts of his project to hint at his feelings for you.
He would do that thing where the person would come up behind you and put their hands over yours to help direct you.
Stuff like that.
Did it make you blush? Yes.
Did it get his feelings across to you?
Ha ha
No.
He literally doesn't know what he's doing wrong.
After a while BB is so close to believing that you just don't feel the same until Splinter suggests being direct with you.
He would just stare at Master Splinter in the most 'I didn't about that's type of way.
He just didn't think that was something that people did ya know?
He never considered it cuz he just never did.
He's not embarrassed about his feelings, though he may be a little flustered.
He feels so dumb after the suggestion was made.
Bro was like, how did I never think of that.
Now that he knows though, he is going straight to you.
You were playing cards with Splinter and Raph when Donny approached you.
"Y/n!" He said with a smile on his face.
"Hey D! What's up?"
"Actually, now that you ask," he rubbed the back of his neck "I was wondering if I could speak with you in private for a moment?"
"Oh uhhhh, sure, just. Let me find someone to give my hand to."
"Splinter grabbed your cards from your hand, Michelangelo!"
"Yeeeeeess?" Mikey looked over the back of the couch to where you were playing.
"Come here, you are playing in place of y/n" he said waving Mikey over.
You cringed, you were doing so well! You may not have beat Splinter but you were beating Raph!
"Oh oh, I like where this game is headin'," Raph grinned.
You groaned, Mikey was totally going to ruin whatever victory you had in mind.
Regardless, after everything with the game was settled you followed Donny out of the lair and into the turtle van parked in the garage. Donny was fidgeting with his fingers the whole way there. It set a sort of awkward tone for the silence. You were also slightly concerned too, it wasn't like Donny to be nervous and fidgety. Awkward, sure. Nervous? No.
When you took your seat in the van Donny sat himself right across from you, though he didn't look you in the eye.
"So what's up Donny? Is something wrong?"
"Oh no! Not wrong perse," he finally looked at you, "Just trying to figure out how exactly I want to word this."
You were getting more nervous by the second. What was he going to tell you. He always had the right words to articulate what he's thinking. Why now is it difficult? You started picking at your fingers waiting for him to speak again.
"Okay, I think I've got it!" He said turning to look you fully in the eye now.
"Y/n, you have always been one of my closest friends. I enjoy our conversations and having you around makes me smile,"
This could being in their a really good direction or a really bad one but all you knew is that you were really confused.
"However recently my feelings have developed into something a bit... more," he paused. His chest tightened and his stomach felt hollow.
"I don't want to hide my feelings or pretend like they're not there. I understand if you can't return my feelings but I figure it's only fair that you know that I.." he reached out and put your hand in his, "I'm in love with you."
Tumblr media
Mikey:
Out of all of them I feel like Mikey is the most likely to be direct.
If he's not it is solely because he's embarrassed.
Dude will blush and giggle at you like a flustered school girl.
It honestly looks so stupid but in a strangely endearing way.
When Mikey tries to be subtle with his feelings about you it doesn't work.
To an outside viewer it doesn't look like he's trying at all.
He is though.
He really is🥲
So it's safe to say that when the revelation is made that you didn't know, everyone was kinda shocked.
(Raph might have called you dumb)
They probably confronted you about Mikeys feelings, after assuming that you already knew and didn't reciprocate, hence your lack of action.
They'd be all, 'look your our friend but if you don't like Mikey you need to tell him so he can get over you'
And you'll just sit there like, 'but I do like Mikey, what do you mean????'
Once you figure out that they mean ROMANTIC feelings Mikey will be horrified that they told you.
"You have a crush on me?" You asked Mikey curiously.
"Wha- WHA- WHAT?!!"
You were sitting on the couch while Mikeys brothers surrounded you. They were trying to tell you something about letting Mikey down easy. It took a while for you to understand what they were saying but when you finally did you were shocked. You had no idea. So when Mikey came from the kitchen with his normal carefree attitude, asking him was all you could think to say.
"WHO TOLD YOU THAT!" Mikey panicked and looked at his brothers with a mix of betrayal and embarrassment, "DUDES??!"
"Eheh. Sorry Mikey, we thought they already knew," Donny shrugged. He felt bad for outing his brother but what's done is done.
"If we had known they were more dense then you we wouldn't have said anything," Raph told him slightly peeved.
"HEY!" you frowned at Raph.
"YOU TOLD THEM!!" Mikey was in full jittery panic at this point.
"We thought they already knew considering how... obvious, you've been. We thought they were leading you on," Leo explained, "We didn't mean to tell them Mikey." Leo looked apologetic.
"I think we should leave you two to talk about this," Leo told the others and led them somewhere else in the lair.
You and Mikey didn't move. He stood there starring at the floor while you were starring at him.
"So was what they were saying right? Do you have... feelings for me?"
"I... umm... yeah," Mikey told you, completely red in the face.
"Well that's good," you giggled.
"huh?"
"I do too."

Her || Charles Leclerc
Main characters: Charles Leclerc x OC Genre: fanfiction, fluff  Story type: novel  Part: 10/? Word count: 2602 Co writer: @mistrose23
Summary: This was Matilde Jørgensen, the newly appointed team principal of Scuderia Ferrari, about to face one of the most nerve-wracking challenges of her life. She tried to save the team from more disappointing results and put everything on the line to make them world champion again. There will be a big challenge to lead a historic team as 'newbie' and keeping her work and personal opinions apart from each other. The big question everybody will be asking: is she capable to do so?
Chapter 8. Call It What You Want
Matilde sat in the airport, waiting for her flight to leave. She was seated in the business class lounge, enjoying a cup of coffee. Well, she couldn't really enjoy it. The events of yesterday played through her head; from the perfect race and victory, to the moment in the restaurant. Even though it hurt, she still had a fun night with Max and her former colleagues.
"Hey," a voice said, he sounded surprised.
Matilde looked up and a smile came to her face. "Hey," she smiled at Kevin, who took a seat next to her. "Going home?"
The Danish driver nodded. "You too?"
She nodded. "It's my mum's birthday tomorrow."
"Ah, that's sweet. Congrats on your win, by the way! Your first victory as team principal and the first victory for Ferrari this year!"
A weak smile came on her face. "Thanks."
"Hangover?" The off reaction didn't go unnoticed by Kevin.
"Yeah," she breathed. "Something like that."
He smirked. "You will remember this one forever."
"And if I will," she muttered. The good and the bad, she thought. "How was your race? P11, P10?"
"P10, quite average. It was an alright weekend. The track is fun, but the entire show around it... Not a big fan, to be honest."
"Yeah, Miami is something else. I wonder what Las Vegas will be like," she mentioned.
"We are Danes, we keep it low profile."
They both laughed.
"Where are you seated?" Kevin asked.
Matilde looked at her ticket. "2A, you?"
"8H," he replied. "I don't know if it is me, but it's quite funny that in America, we get paper boarding passes, and in Europe, or flying from Europe, we have them online. Or it's me, my subconscious preference."
"No, I have it too. But I don't know. Also, when going through security here, we have to remove our shoes. I have never done that in Europe. Bizarre how many things are different between continents." She took a deep breath. "It makes travelling interesting and fun."
Matilde and Kevin made their way to the gate when it was almost time to board. They had to wait for just a few minutes, because the crew still had to arrive after a short delay on their side. Matilde's eyes fell on the crew of SAS, who now arrived. A smile came on her face, and tears flowed in her eyes. One of the stewardesses happily smiled as well and excused herself from the crew, just like one of the pilots. Matilde stepped towards the inflight manager of the flight.
"Mati," the stewardess said and embraced her daughter tightly.
Matilde closed her eyes, not saying anything back. She was so relieved and happy to see her mother after five months. More tears welled up, but she was fighting against them.
Freja pulled back, looking at her daughter. Matilde opened her eyes and took a deep breath. "Sweetheart..." Freja found herself in a difficult situation as well, trying to hold back the emotions as well. She stroked a piece of hair behind Matilde's ear and placed her hand on Matilde's cheek. "I'm so happy to see you. How are you?"
"I'm fine," Matilde whispered, not wanting to bother her mother before the flight and her job with her issues. "I'm so happy to see you, too," she said and smiled. "I didn't know you were on this flight."
"Coincidence," her mother smiled. "We will talk once we are in the air, okay?" She let go of Matilde and looked at the man who sat on the bench; she assumed it was a friend of Matilde's. "Are you flying together?"
Matilde looked behind her, at Kevin. "Yes, but we're not seated next to each other. He's a friend of Lars."
"Since when does Lars know Kevin Magnussen?"
"Lene is friends with his wife," Matilde smirked, thinking how ironic it was.
Freja looked impressed and introduced herself to the Danish driver. While they had a quick chat, Matilde greeted the pilot with a hug, happy to see him as well. The stewardess and pilot excused themselves and boarded the plane.
"Parents?" Kevin asked curiously.
Matilde nodded. "Mother and stepfather," she exclaimed. "She says it is a coincidence that she's working on this flight, but I know she planned it like this."
"Parents..." He smiled. "It's adorable." He looked at her. "This might be a personal question, and if you don't want to answer it, it's fine. But do you still see your father?" Kevin looked waitingful at her. "Lars doesn't really talk about this family, as you probably know by now."
A comforting smile came on her face. "Yeah, Lars is really private. But we all still see our dad. My parents divorced twenty-four years ago, and they're still friends. Mum met Emil through work, and they try to work on the same flights since they got together."
"Did they get together..?"
"Oh, no. A few years after the divorce."
"And your dad?" Kevin's eyes grew round. "Sorry, I'm asking way too much."
She shook her head. "It's okay, it's not like I have issues talking about it. My dad has a girlfriend, Astrid. They met two years ago. It's complicated, but it is what it is," she said and shrugged. "How are Louise and Laura, by the way? And how is the pregnancy going so far? You're having another girl, right? "
"They are both doing fine, and yes, we're having another girl." A smile came to his face as he continued to talk about his family.
* * *
Since it was a day flight, Matilde didn't manage to get any sleep. She planned to do some work on the plane, but ended up watching some movies. Her mind kept drifting off to last night. She got up from her seat and walked through the aisle, passing Kevin, who sat on the other side of the cabin. Their eyes met, he smiled, she nodded. Once she got in the galley, she waited for the bathroom.
"Mati," Matilde's mother said when entering the galley. "How is everything?" She closed the curtain.
"Fine, a whole new experience in business class," Matilde replied and playfully smiled.
"You've never flown business class at SAS?"
"No, economy is all I could pay for, and Red Bull could book for me. Now Ferrari books business class for me. Well, not this flight. I happened to get an upgrade?" She raised her eyebrows. "On this flight only? Not the first flight?"
Her mother smiled. "That is weird, lucky you."
"Mum, you didn't have to do this."
"You are the team principal of Ferrari and flying economy? A woman like you should fly business class. And it is a pleasure to have my daughter in business class on my flight," her mother proudly said and nudged Matilde's shoulder.
Whenever Matilde or her brothers were on the same flight as their mother - which wasn't often, they flew economy. And they grew up appreciating the small things, they didn't bother to fly business. Matilde wanted to ask Ferrari to book economy tickets, but she didn't dare to ask because she understood that by booking business class, she could properly rest or work during a flight. But flying business class wasn't in her nature.
"Still... This is a flight for a private event."
"Still. At least you're not flying private." Freja handed over a bottle of water. "How was yesterday?"
"Aren't you supposed to work?"
"We are mid-flight, all the passengers are served, and now we get on a break."
"Oh, yeah, that is right." Matilde took a sip of her water. "Well, go get your break. It's important."
Her mother proudly smiled. "You sound like a real boss, a caring boss."
A fragile smile came on Matilde's face. "I will tell you all about this weekend once we are home."
"Of course. Unless you want to say something now?"
"No, no, it can wait. You should take your break."
"Okay, sweetheart. By the way, are you driving home with Emil and me? After the plane lands, we have a quick debrief, and then we are free to go. It's okay if you want to go home. Are you staying at mine or your dad's?"
"It's your birthday tomorrow, so I was hoping to crash at yours?"
"Yes! Of course. You're always welcome."
"And if I can drive home with you? I think that's fun," Matilde smiled. "We're going to the same destination, after all."
Freja nodded. "I will share the plans after my break, yes? And you go to the bathroom, it's free now."
Matilde laughed. "See you soon." She stepped into the toilet and did her thing. When she stepped back into the galley, her gaze fell on Kevin. Business class was almost empty, and so was the seat next to Kevin. Without thinking too much about it, she sat down next to him; only the aisle was in between them. "Hey, can I ask you something?"
He sat up and smiled. "Yeah, sure. What's up?"
She licked her lips and looked around her. "Well, uh, I don't know if you're the right person to ask this, but yeah... From my experience, we did things differently... but when you're going out after a race, celebrating a...perfect result... do you ask Steiner to join? Or other Head of Departments?"
A frown came on his forehead, and he crossed his arms. "We don't have those results often, but... Yes. Why?"
Matilde slowly nodded. "Exactly," she mumbled. She looked down and saw that her hands trembled slightly.
"Why?" Kevin asked again.
"I'm telling you this in confidence, okay?" Matilde said and looked at him.
"No one will know about it; whatever you have to say, I promise."
"No one in F1," she repeated. "I'm struggling with this thought, but...uhm, the team went out to celebrate the win and P2," she told him. Kevin nodded. "Without me." Tears filled her eyes. "And I don't know if it was their intention, like, not to invite me. As in, they didn't want to celebrate it with me. Or if this is how it goes at Ferrari."
A concerned look came on his face. "Oh, wow. Matilde..." He didn't know what to say. "Why is that your thought?"
"Things are not going smoothly with the team and me; there's still a lot of friction. And I'm still an outsider, which I get; I'm new, young, a woman, still learning to speak Italian. But this weekend... It felt like we bonded, like we finally became a team. And I was, am, still proud of this weekend with all the performances, but then I got a message from Leclerc, asking where I was at their celebration. Coincidentally, we were in the same restaurant. I was with Gemma, and we ended up at Red Bull's dinner. And then I saw the team celebrating the great results."
"But didn't they go out with the team and... I don't know, perhaps the crew only?" Kevin asked, trying to understand it and trying to soften the blow for her.
Matilde shrugged and wiped away a tear that was rolling over her cheek. "No." She looked in front of her. "Everyone was there, except me. But why would Leclerc text me, asking where I was? If it was a crew-only dinner, then why would he text me?"
He showed a weak smile. "I don't know. I'm trying to find some reasonable excuses, to make you feel less shit. You know, I know my crew often goes out as well without inviting the board." He scanned her face. "But the message from Leclerc doesn't make sense. But why were you with Gemma at the Red Bull dinner?"
"I kinda forgot," she said, more tears rolling over her cheeks. "I had so many emotions, and everyone was texting and calling me and asking me things. I asked a mechanic, and he said that they would stay in, because they all had an early flight home the next morning," she rattled. "And then Gemma showed up and asked if I wanted to join her. Next thing I know, I was doing shots with Max." She ran a hand through her hair. "I was thinking of throwing lunch or something after the days off, but I'm not too sure about it now."
Kevin nodded and took a deep breath. "This is not nothing..." He didn't want to say too much; what if he said something wrong? Or gave her an idea? "Did they see you?"
"I sent them champagne."
Kevin straightened his face. "You did what?"
"Yes, I'm sorry, but what the fuck was going on? It didn't make sense. And I wanted to let them know I was there without actually standing next to their table," she blurted. When she thought about it now, it was a bold move, a dick move, but it was genius. "And I told the waiter to say that I gave them my compliments."
"Matilde..." He looked impressed and disapproved at the same time. "This is so..."
"Not me? Yes, I know. But I already had alcohol in my body, and I just... I don't know, I was so confused and disappointed. And when the waiter pointed at me... You should have been there. They looked like they had seen a ghost."
Kevin couldn't help it, but laugh. "It is such a dick move, but such a great move. You can't do this. This is not professional."
"It's not professional to invite everyone, but your team principal. And I get it; it's awkward, but I'm not awkward. Half of the team is older than me and more experienced than me. And it's not like I don't know how to function in a team." She shrugged.
"But how did things go at Red Bull?"
"We would go out for dinner first, often with Christian and the board. The team would go to a club, and Christian and the board often would go back to the hotel; sometimes, they would join. Or we would go out without Christian and the board, team only thing, but they would know. Or they declined the invitation. We were very open," she said and dried her eyes when her sight became blurry. "It was asked... And everybody had a choice. I know things work differently at Ferrari, but this was the last thing that I expected." Matilde shook her head. "We still have to bond and stuff, apparently, but I honestly thought we bonded well over this weekend, and I was just so proud to lead this team." Warm tears left her eyes again. "They didn't invite me for a reason."
"Why?"
"I don't know." She sniffled. "But it's good to know that this isn't normal. Or that this is the way Ferrari operates. The text of Leclerc still doesn't make sense."
"Well, I know that this isn't normal."
She got up. "God, I'm sorry you had to see me having a breakdown," Matilde embarrassedly laughed and dried her eyes. "It's the lack of sleep, hangover and yeah... But thanks for listening. I won't hold you up longer from whatever you wanted to do."
"Matilde, this is a serious issue. I'm not saying you have to go to the board and say something about it, but you have to talk about it. If you say nothing, they will think this is normal, and it's definitely not normal," Kevin mentioned. He grabbed her hand and squeezed it softly, just to let her know that he was there for her. "Let me know how it goes." He gently let go of her hand.
She nodded. "I will, thank you. Really," she said and walked away, back to her own seat.
Kevin was perplexed and processing the words he just heard. Should he do something about it? Or did her team have other intentions? Either way, he knew he had to text her brother when they landed, sharing his concern.

“Henry’s monologue this” “Michael’s monologue that” okay?? Have you considered??
Circus Baby’s night 4 monologue
Don’t get me wrong, night four is a pain in the ass (especially on console), but even after days of trying I still found myself enjoying listening to her speech to Michael about her thoughts on The Scooper. The way it portrays her thoughts on what she’s about to do, while keeping the idea in the player’s head that Circus Baby is just a kid, is excellent. It’s just a few sentences, but it sets up Circus Baby and The Scooper very well and expertly foreshadows for night 5. (There will be a transcript of her speech in the reblogs, incase you want to read it first, I started it at when she first mentions The Scooper.)
First: She’s obviously just a kid
One of my favorite moments in the whole game is when Circus Baby says “Do you know why it’s called The Scooping Room? Because, dummy, this is the room where they use the scooper.” Hilarious. Like yeah, dummy, obviously. But her soft, mature sounding voice can make you forget that Elizabeth was a kid, and Circus Baby is just a little girl. Her calling the player (Michael, her brother) “Dummy” is really cute and actually serves her character well. Her comparisons of The Scooper to something you’d want at your birthday, something for ice cream and sprinkles, serves as a good reminder of who Circus Baby really is, she’s Elizabeth. For her, birthdays are the best thing in the world. Which leads me to my next point…
Second, Circus Baby loves The Scooper
During night four, a first time player won’t know why Baby would like The Scooper. When we first hear it, it’s loud and scary and kicks Ballora’s ass, it’s not friendly at all. But Circus Baby speaks so fondly of it, it does a great job establishing that the scooper will be important later. It’s also intresting on replay of the game (more on this later) because you know what it is to her, freedom. She’s been in a dark basement for a while and for her, the Scooper is the best thing in the world, her way out.
Third, Circus Baby briefly empathizes with her brother
Michael is clearly the “Freshly opened pint of ice cream”. He wouldn’t like the scooper, to him it would be scary, that is, if a freshly opened pint of ice cream felt anything at all. Because the way she momentarily considers her brother, and how he might feel about all this, is important too. She knows that what she is doing to Michael is bad for him, but I read her delivery of the last line “Thankfully, I don’t think a freshly opened pint of ice cream feels anything at all” as her trying to convince herself that it won’t affect him. She’s telling herself that “The Scooper only hurts for a moment” and that he won’t feel what’s she’s going to happen. Circus Baby isn’t a monster, she’s a kid who’s been in hell for a while and needs to get out. But she doesn’t want to hurt anyone, so it’s a good thing he won’t even feel it…
Finally, none of this is clear on a first play through
You have to know what Circus Baby is going to do to Michael on night five to truly get the full experience of listening to this speech. On a first listen, all it does is set up an uneasy atmosphere and a little bit of mystery for the player. It doesn’t seem weird, but it manages to convey (and foreshadow) all of the emotions felt by Baby during an event that hasn’t even happened yet in game. It’s something that has an impact on first listen, but doesn’t mean much to the player unless they know what The Scooper truly means to Baby, and what she plans on doing with it.
Bonus: The voice actor is incredible. She really eats, no crumbs.

Hiiiiii!!! Oh my gosh.
Thank you for the sneak peak!!!
Going to be the outlier here, but honestly, Spencer’s not coming off as an asshole in the preview . As someone probably older than most reading, (almost 30 crowd…) the way you wrote the teaser is exactly what needs to be said.
Spencer is allowed to have boundaries and enforce them!! Inexperience doesn’t mean someone can play with someone else’s emotions. We know how reader feels and what they’re going through but on the flip side, Spencer is also known to be an emotionally stunted character - he has to protect himself too because he doesn’t know what’s going on yet! (At least I’m making that assumption based on the other chapters and this preview).
Now don’t get me wrong - it’s definitely NOT a romantic moment or anything people should want to happen in real life but!!! Real life has hard conversations that make you uncomfortable (especially when you get older and into serious relationships) and even if you only end up using half of the teaser you showed us - it’s perfect. It’s so real.
I have devoured all of your writing and I am in love with all of it. I am so so so excited for how the next part of your series plays out - while I want them to be in a happy fluffy bubble, the way you’re writing is just so accurate to life and it’s amazing to read such hard emotions that are being depicted so well!!! You’re fabulous!
Seriously, I hope you author a book one day so I can purchase it and read it all in one sitting.
- 🌌
ahhh tysm you’re so kind!!
and yes ik im hating on him for what i made him say but i do agree that’s while he could have been kinder, reader isnt the only one feeling insecure and unsure about where she stands. like i don’t wanna explain it or spoil anything but if you read chapter four it all makes sense. essentially he’s saying please stop being mean to me because i want you around/im doing the best i can with what you’re giving me but you’re not giving me a lot
thank you for pointing this out!! let’s not burn him at the stake just yet

actually it's kind of funny how people will say Alex's fatal flaw is that he 'doesn't ask for help' and that it's his determination to handle things on his own that leads to his deterioration and eventual death when his whole introduction to the present-day timeline was a very literal cry for help that simply went ignored
#N posts stuff#like even if you think alex was lying throughout the entirety of season 2 and he was waiting from the Moment jay showed up#JUST to kill him (Which again i don't think makes much sense when he could have killed Tim & Jay immediately instead of#breaking Tim's leg. anyway) EVEN IF alex spent that whole time lying it doesn't actually change the fact that he would have at least#been Pretending to Ask For Help and if he wasn't lying then he was Literally Asking For Help and it doesn't Actually matter#what intention Alex had because the text is Ambiguous about Alex's honesty during season two; what isn't ambiguous is the way#other characters (specifically Jay) respond to him; like yeah - S2 Brian/Tim were never in one million years going to help Alex with shit#so sort of any argument that brings up Tim as someone who asks for/offers help is borderline meaningless in this era of the series#Jay had the 'opportunity' to help Alex (and i'll get back to that in a sec) but DIDN'T - Jay wasn't Interested in actually offering Alex#'help' bc Jay is ultimately curious about Answers and 'Offering Help' and 'Getting Answers' are two Wildly conflicting goals#Jay thinks Alex has answers and when Alex doesn't Offer these 'Answers' to Jay on a silver platter Jay gets pissed off and paranoid#and starts Stalking Alex bc he thinks it's 'Suspicious' that Alex won't give him the Answers (that Alex probably doesn't Actually have)#ANYWAY. ultimately this post is about how it's absurd when people argue#that individual character choices could have made a difference in the way this series played out - specifically wrt Alex#because EVERYONE in this WHOLE series are being affected by influences outside of their control ; including Brian Tim and Jay#so it's silly when people are like 'if ALEX had just made a different choice For Himself this could have all been avoided' WRONG.#bc Ultimately there's not really a way to 'help' someone else out of this situation - Tim tried and failed Repeatedly#the comics proved he even failed with Jessica - like MH isn't a horror situation where you can kill the big bad#'getting help' is a meaningless argument - what would successfully helping or getting help even look like? anyway.#the sub argument of this post is that Alex's biggest 'sin' is that he doesn't perform emotions the way other people want him to#like Alex is a character with a kind of flat affect - instead of LOOKING scared or grieved he LOOKS bored or angry#and everyone judges him based on that - so Alex is 'Suspicious' he's 'Lying' he's 'Guilty' but all of these deductions are predicated#on the belief that Alex isn't reacting to his circumstances the way a 'Normal' person would - so it MUST all be an act and so he's guilty#so everyone treats him like he's guilty until the end of season two when he's like 'Fuck it FINE i'll be guilty then' and so it goes#not a self-fulfilled prophecy but being Cornered Into a prophecy and then Blamed for it - SAD. anyway

I know you're keeping Clear Sky as an antagonist (and he's very compelling as one in your rewrite), but I'm curious: if you absolutely had to give him a redemption arc, how would you go about it? (Besides not fridging his sister and wives, of course.)
If I was forced to give Clear Sky a redemption arc I'd slip a femur right out of my legmeat and beat someone to death with it
I'd never write a redemption arc for him, ever. It would be a completely different character.
Clear Sky's redemption arc is not even an idea worth considering; This an extremely consistent abusive family member who drives the entire plot, a predator who will leverage the love people have for him, whose defining characteristic is that he dresses up his megalomania as "Just Trying to Protect Everyone"
And I'd give that up?! for what?
I'd rewrite the whole plot, JUST like how the writers did with TWO born evil foreigner villains so their story wouldn't get boring, so I could prove the he could be a good boy if he wanted to? WHY?
It's doing the same thing the Erins do, totally uninterested in the story of his victims to write yet another plot centered around the pain of an abusive man.
Elder Bones is disappointed in you if you even think about it, actually. I am holding the femurbone in my hand as we speak. I'm gonna GETCHA
