LOL, you shitheads again? You must really love getting your asses kicked if you're coming to me, of all people.
For anybody unaware, the Satanists behind the website mentioned in this ask are a bunch of openly antisemitic conspiracy theorists appropriating Eastern traditions, and they've been trying to advertise themselves and increase their SEO by sending asks like these. Each ask is tailored to appeal to whatever they think your beliefs might be, but they all follow a similar template that goes something like:
What do you think of [URL redacted]? They claim to follow [insert gods here], they [something about supporting abortion], and they're the largest [insert group here] group in the world."
The spirituality promoted on this website is rooted in deeply antisemitic conspiracy theories and pseudohistory. If I addressed every single claim they made, I'd be here all day, so I'm going to stick to a few examples:
They claim that Satanism isn't a reaction to Christianity, but is in fact older than Christianity. This is straight-up pseudohistorical bullshit.
They claim that Jews have perpetrated a grand conspiracy to conceal true spiritual knowledge from the masses. They outright cite The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, a Czarist hoax created to justify violence against Russian Jews in the late 19th century. They claim that Christianity is a Jewish tool of world domination and mind control.
They claim that "Jewish ritual murder" is a thing. This is blood libel, an old conspiracy theory used to demonize Jews.
They claim that Jesus was a fictional creation made out of tropes "stolen" from various pagan gods. There is no actual evidence for this; it's another conspiracy theory. For a scholarly look at what most probably happened, I recommend How Jesus Became God: The Exaltation of a Jewish Preacher from Galilee by Bart D. Erhman. Or if you can't get your hands on the books, just look into Dr. Ehrman's videos/lectures on the topic on YouTube.
They push the extremely racist ancient aliens bullshit, claiming that the pagan gods were actually aliens.
They claim that the serpent actually represents human DNA, life force, and kundalini. This is a conspiracy theory that disregards the diversity of lore about serpents in various belief systems and traditions around the world, and culturally appropriates from Eastern traditions.
Their idea of what constitutes genuine Satanic practices is basically New Agers' bastardized versions of Eastern concepts and practices.
They claim that the "Tree of Life" is actually a stolen pagan symbol that maps the human soul. Again, an unsubstantiated conspiracy theory that disregards the actual significance of trees within the various traditions that involve them.
They claim that the Pentateuch was ripped off from the five suits of the tarot, and that tarot has ancient origins with alchemical significance. Tarot was actually invented in the 15th century for playing games. Mystical symbolism was applied by occultists in the 18th century.
The creators of the site apparently believe that the Simon Necronomicon is a genuine translation of older documents. It's not. The Necronomicon was a literary device created by HP Lovecraft; every text purporting to be a translation of the Necronomicon is a modern creation.
If you get an anon message like this in your inbox, do not post it. These people want you to share their URL to get more publicity and spread their antisemitic conspirituality. Don't give them what they want.

bang chan
chan spun around in his chair at the sound of the door opening, perking up. he expected the warm smile and hug that he craved so badly, only to be met with a shell of his favorite person. but instead, your slumped shoulders fell into the mattress by his desk.
“y/n?” chan questioned, growing increasingly concerned at the quiet sobs and running to your side.
but when you fell asleep that night in his arms, after watching your favorite movies and eating your favorite snacks, chan would tuck you into bed and sneak out of the house quietly, careful to not disturb your sleep. he would, however, disturb multiple other’s sleep that night.
chan rarely liked to resort to murder, but his breaking point was seeing you cry in the way that you did. just the thought was enough motivation to slice the worthless girl’s throat, seeing nothing but red.
this was just the beginning of his killing spree. you would never have to worry about them bothering you again.
lee minho
you didn’t think he knew, and you never planned to tell him either in fear of your bullies well-beings. while you hated them just as much as they claimed to hate you, there was no way you could subject them to your sadistic boyfriend. it would make you a monster to do so. instead, you chose to deal with the cruel words thrown at you in hopes of him never finding out.
obviously, you had underestimated exactly how much minho knew about you, which was quite a lot, especially when he spent his free time following you around aimlessly with a small smile on his face.
the truth was, minho knew the whole time that you had problems with these bullies of yours. he knew that you put on a smile when you’d come back home and lied as you skipped past that part of the day.
minho never felt the need to interfere until the day that they laid their hands on you. the shove took both you and him by surprise, anger bubbling inside of him that he couldn’t release just yet.
when you came home that night, faking a smile and giving a brief story about your day as you ate the dinner prepared for you, minho decided to tell you about the gift he had gotten you today.
a big smile spread across his face as you tore open the box, watching your face contour into panic.
“i wouldn’t let them keep the hands that they touched you with, or the tongues that they talked to you with. so now they’re yours!”
seo changbin
“how was your day, love?” “it was alright.”
these were your only words when you came home. at first, changbin thought he had done something wrong, but when he questioned it, you told him that you were just tired.
after a week of ‘alright’s, he knew that there was something that you didn’t want to tell him, something that he would have to find out himself.
he watched you throughout the day very carefully, trying to spot any changes in your behavior. for the most part, you were tired and miserable, but it only got worse as the day continued.
around noon while walking around campus, you began to speed up your walking pace, suddenly very aware of your surrounding. changbin would soon understand why as laughter suddenly rose from a group of students. the scene escalated quickly before his eyes and he tried to keep his cool, until one of them shoved you.
that was his breaking point, absolutely losing it as he threw a punch to the bastard’s nose. everything was hazy, his body going into autopilot as he easily threw the other guy to the ground, a crowd forming around as you tried to pry changbin off of him.
it wasn’t until the man was beaten to a pulp that changbin let you drag him away, heart dropping at your tear stained cheeks.
“are you okay? did he hurt you that badly? i’ll fucking kill him, i promise you, y/n.”
hwang hyunjin
you knew that the bullying you’d receive would be inevitable, considering that you were dating the hwang hyunjin, the boy that everyone dreamed of being with.
dealing with a few comments about how he was too attractive for you here and there was no problem and easy to shrug off, but you never realized the extent that a few certain girls were willing to go in order to tear down your confidence enough to think that hyunjin was too good for you.
eventually, it worked. you grew more and more distant from him, barely considering how often he tried to make plans to see you more, how devastated he had been becoming without you. it wasn’t until he showed up at your door late at night, flowers clutched tightly in his hands as he begged you to talk to him that you finally broke down.
“i can’t keep doing this hyunjin. do you see yourself? you’re so attractive. you’re so kind. and look at me, do you even like me? or are you just keeping me around to make yourself look even more handsome?”
hyunjin barely heard the words coming from your mouth as you spilled out all the reasons why he was too good for you. he knew that somebody had been making you feel this way.
“who told you all of this?” he questioned calmly, dark thoughts clouding his mind. he needed names. addresses. ways to make them disappear. ways to get you back.
han jisung
you never thought to tell jisung about the stupid girls who would pick fun at you in class. they were childish and jealous, that was all. while some comments hurt, you never paid much mind to it. after all, you weren’t there to entertain them.
“holy shit, is that y/n?“ you heard a familiar voice whilst shopping with jisung, both of you whipping your heads around to find where the snickering voices were coming from.
“who is that guy with her? i didn’t know she had a boyfriend,” your classmate mused, “what’s he doing with her? does he have a thing for ugly girls?”
with a grumble, you turned your head back around to continue walking, deciding once again that they weren’t worth your time. jisung followed, too focused on your hand squeezing his own to care about anyone but you.
they continued to follow you around for a while, making snide comments in hopes that you’d turn around to give them something else to make fun of. but when you didn’t, the girls grew aggravated, going as far as to grab your wrist and yank you away from jisung to get your attention.
it was only then that his eyes widened, hand reaching into his jacket pocket to grab his favorite switchblade, leaving a nasty slice on the hand that touched yours.
“she’s mine, you can’t have her.”
lee felix
it had all started when a girl noticed felix in her dance class. she told her friends about her newfound love interest, and they did some investigating on him only to find out that he had a girlfriend. but the girls didn’t give up there, instead they confronted you, which ended in them ganging up on you once you refused to leave him.
they told you that if you told felix, they would make your life even more of a living hell than it had already become dealing with them. they knew people— they knew how to ruin your life.
but there were things felix would pick up on about you that even you wouldn’t notice. he was very observant, which made it hard for you to keep things from him. that had never been a problem for you, because you were very open and honest with him. but now, the one time that you wanted to keep something from him, it was.
“where do these bruises keep coming from?” he traced his finger across your newest forming one, causing you to let out a whimper at the pressure.
“does it hurt that bad? there’s no way you don’t know what happened,” his voice was stern as he stared at you in the eyes, “tell me now, who has been hurting you? i need to know and take care of them.”
it was then that you broke down, telling him everything that had been going on recently.
in the time you finished, he had pulled on his shoes and brushed out his hair, a knife tucked away into his pocket, slamming the door.
kim seungmin
you had confided in seungmin when it had all started. you trusted him more than anyone in your world, so ranting to him about your problems came as natural as breathing air.
he would nod his head slowly, taking in the information as his hands found their way into your hair, playing with it to calm himself down. his stern face would worry you, and you would almost think he was spacing out if you didn’t know him well enough to know how pissed he was.
“would you like me to get rid of them?” he looked down at you laying across his lap, heart softening at the way you played with the hem of his shirt.
“please,” you hummed, half asleep at this point in the night.
when he told you he would get rid of them, you thought that he would tell them off or perhaps notify somebody. but that wasn’t what he had meant at all.
seungmin watched you drift off on top of him, cooing at the way you clung so tightly to him. you whined in protest as he hooked his arms under your body and lifted you off of him, whispering about how your back would hurt in the morning if he didn’t get you to bed.
it didn’t take long for you to fall back asleep thinking that he was at your side. but in reality, he was already out the door and figuring out how to get rid of everyone you had talked about before you would wake up.
yang jeongin
he felt betrayed. it was his own friends who were the reason why you were sobbing into the material of his shirt at the moment. his jaw was clenched tightly, scrolling through the texts on your phone.
his friend group had added you into a group chat solely to shame you. they made fun of you for everything. your body, your face, the way you dressed, how you talked, every part of you that he loved so much was targeted by the ones he hung out with when he wasn’t with you.
what upset him even more was knowing that you weren’t planning to tell him any of this. only by chance did he happen to see a notification light up your screen as you two were watching a movie, only one of many terrible texts that were sent to your phone. and now the tv was long forgotten about.
“if you feel this way too, i get it,” you hiccuped, “they’re right about a lot of it, and they’re your friends, if they don’t like me then you can always break—“
“don’t you dare finish that sentence,” jeongin interrupted, gently shoving you off of him to look you in the eyes.
“i couldn’t care less about any of these people. i’m going to go. i need to take care of this.”
he didn’t specify how he was going to, knowing that you would beg him not to, but there was no way that he would ever let this slide. he would tear each of them up, piece by piece. nobody was allowed to make you think that he would ever think about leaving you.

PLEASE MORE OF THE HOTUB MEETING THINGS ITS SO FUNNY AND I LOVE UR WORK FOR LOOKISM
Hey Anon! I responded to the other anon but I got inspired to write more crack. What is continuity, you ask? Well who the hell knows.
Men of Lookism: Bathhouse Meeting Part 3... with Guests
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 4: Women of Lookism
What is this, a crossover episode?
Tumblr media
As more naked bodies file in, the tension could be cut with a knife.
The establishment was supposed to close off the bathhouse for the rest of the night. Any further admittance being strictly forbidden. This has never happened before, there must be some scheduling mistake.
Even with the fights and squabbling breaking out from before, the easy air was no longer.
All eyes are on the men entering.
Recognition dawns.
Turns out, they are not out of place here.
Gun Park makes the first move.
"Warai Oni," he bows, "We finally meet."
Baek Seongjun returns the greeting with reverence, "Shiro Oni."
"The fuck is wrong with your eyes?" A rude voice cuts through.
"Taehoon!" Yoo Hobin scolds under his breath, elbowing him swiftly in the stomach. He'd much rather face the wrath of Taehoon, who would likely just kick him a few times, than the infamous Gun Park, who would probably murder him. "Don't you know who that is?!"
"Why the fuck would I know?" Seong Taehoon does indeed throw a kick at Hobin, who manages to jump out of the way in time. How dare that little asshole elbow him.
"That's Gun Park!" Snapper is practically vibrating with excitement to be in the same place as him. "He was voted most popular by a fricking HUGE margin!"
Gun smirks at the last part but of course his partner comes to rain on his parade.
"So what? His eyes are freaky, aren't they?" Goo Kim teases, materialising next to Taehoon and resting his head on his shoulder. "He's so ugly."
"Get off!" Goo pouts as Taehoon pushes him away.
"Hey," Jason Yoon nudges Johan Seong, "There's that Taehoon. Do you think we should say hi?"
Johan doesn't bother to look, making a move to get out of the water anyway. "Whatever. Any crossover was years ago."
"So what's your backstory?" Baek Hangyul asks the man sitting to his right.
"Nothing interesting," Jinho shrugs. "I'm just crazy."
"Same." Hangyul smiles at him, having found a kindred spirit.
Seo Haesu studies the menu on the wall, mind never too far from food, and wondering what he should eat next.
"Hi," he greets the guy now next to him, eyes also scanning the menu.
Johan looks over and nods.
"Welcome to the Sad Boy Simp Club!" Ryuhei throws his arm around Kim Munseong.
"Sup," Zack Lee says, joined by Xiaolong and Warren Chae.
"I... guess that's me." Munseong grimaces, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Can I join?" Wangguk overhears, thinking that he deserves at least an honorary membership.
Confusion paints Munseong's face. "I thought you and Rumi...?"
"Sort of. It's all very rushed. No one's satisfied-"
Xiaolong suddenly breaks off from the group "Sorry, excuse me!" having spotted someone in the distance.
Ji Yeonwoo feels strangely exposed as he walks nude into the room. Not that he's shy, but he feels vulnerable. Like someone is constantly watching. He heads for the water as quickly as he can, wanting to cover up.
Mangi relaxes in the water as Yeonwoo settles next to him.
Two bald heads belonging to Jerry Kwon and Brad Lee catches his eye. He smiles to himself, comforted by the sight of his bald brethren.
A set of doppelgangers meet up.
"Baek Seongjun!" Xiaolong calls out. The other blue haired man smiles politely at him.
"I'm sorry for stealing your design," Xiaolong, contrite, executes a 90 degree bow.
"Don't worry," Seongjun dismisses any concern or ill-will, "It's not your fault. Besides, I'm dead."
From afar, Eugene keeps a close eye on Yeonwoo, observing him from the moment the latter walked in. Almost a doppelganger of his own if his growth spurt would kick in and if he could put on 30lb of muscle.
Goddamnit. He wants a glow-up too.

Chasing Clouds - Prologue

→ Author Note: my favorite kdrama of all time is descendants of the sun and in honor of my fifth rewatch, I wanted to write this series! it takes place about a year after the show ends, just so you know the timeline :) i would recommend that you watch it first, but it’s not a requirement - it just gives insight to some of the character's personalities (plus i’ll take any opportunity to tell people to watch it lol)
Tumblr media
Prologue
MAY 02 - 0340 - USTANA
The darkness of the night feels heavy; its weight is unsettling as the soldiers start their most recent assignment. Namjoon has an odd feeling in the pit of his stomach. It’s twisting and turning like never before. He isn’t usually nervous before missions; he hasn’t had a reason to be. He's always followed through and completed his tasks without issue; which is one of the main reasons everyone has such high hopes for him.
Tonight is different though, and he knows the others have the same odd feeling as they all take off their dog tags and set them aside. If captured, they need to remain anonymous.
"You guys know the drill. Once we locate the hostage, everyone will need to be attentive because it'll only be a matter of time until the whole building knows it's been breached. This isn't another exercise boys, lives are at stake here,” Big Boss, Captain Yoo Shijin, says to his team of special force soldiers.
"As this is the last mission of your training term, I expect nothing but excellence in your delivery of the hostage. We've orchestrated the specifics of this mission in such a way that will prove whether or not you are cut for these types of diplomatic high-profile assignments," Wolf, Big Bosses best friend Seo Daeyoung, adds.
"Whatever you do, don't compromise the mission. Don’t use your birth name to communicate, use the nicknames you were given, as well as ours," Big Boss hollers, finishing off their short speech as the back door of the aircraft opened.
Ustana, the country they’re secretly entering, is known for its drug and weapons problem due to its corrupt government. If things end badly, it will reflect on Korea. That’s why the team’s identities and nationalities can’t be known.
The plane jolts, narrowly missing the projectile that was aimed at the steel bird in the sky, solidifying the seriousness of the current situation below.
Namjoon repeats his orders to keep some level of sanity and peace of mind as he descended from the sky with the rest of the Puppy Pack, the soldiers in training to join the Alpha Team.
‘Find the hostage. Mislead the enemy. Return home. Stay alive.’
Once on the ground, he waits for the signal to ambush the guards watching the doors and proceeds to lead the group. Shijin and Daeyoung follow behind with the rest of the soldiers at their feet.
Daeyoung nods, giving Namjoon the go-ahead to align his gun on the enemy. This is the part he often tunes out. You need to be able to turn the switch, as he calls it, on and off with this kind of job.
He aligns his scope with the target and quickly pulls the trigger before moving to the others nearby before they even realize what’s happening. He watches as their bodies drop, waiting to see if anyone else runs into the room, but it’s quiet. Almost too quiet…
"Wildcat, All clear,” he says into his mic, letting the others know their access point is now safe for entry.
‘Find the hostage. Mislead the enemy. Return home. Stay alive.’
It takes less than two minutes for the group of highly trained soldiers to find the hostage. He’s badly beaten and unconscious, his body hunched over in the chair he’s tied to.
Wolf keeps watch by the side door while the team works on releasing the man. Jihoon, another one of the Puppy Pack trainees, helps Namjoon carry the man back to where the transport aircraft is waiting.
“I don’t want to jinx anything, but that was almost too easy…” Jihoon says, looking at Namjoon.
He agrees. Something’s not adding up…
He peers through the open door of the transport helicopter, gazing outside. They’re waiting for the last of the group to make their way onto the craft, and he just wants to ensure that everyone is safe. His shoulders relax when he can see their dark forms exiting the building.
Namjoon turns to look back at Jihoon, “I see them, they’re-” his sentence ends unfinished.
“What is that?” he says, taking a step closer to the unconscious hostage that Jihoon and a combat medic are helping. He points out the red blinking light on the man’s neck. It’s not a laser from a gun. It’s coming from inside his skin. ‘It’s almost as if…’ His thought trails off. “Run!” he screams, though it’s too late.
The bomb’s detonation rips through the helicopter, unleashing an intense burst of energy. In an instant, the searing shockwave propels fragments of debris outward. The air vibrates with a deafening roar, drowning out all other sounds.
The chaotic energy tears apart surroundings and scatters the remnants in all directions. A plume of smoke and fire billows upward, consuming everything in its path. The impact leaves a scene of devastation, marked by shattered glass, twisted metal, and a sense of raw destruction.
Namjoon feels the force of the explosion in his chest and is thrown far from his comrade, and debris crashes around him. His head bounces against the ground, and the ringing in his ears is so intense, he believes he will never hear again.
Jihoon is several feet away. His eyes are frozen open, and blood trails down his face from the head injury he suffers from. Namjoon reaches for his lifeless friend but it’s all too much.
Then, everything fades to black.

Can you do yandere!3RACHA reaction to fem!reader get hurt? (I hope you understand me cuz English not my first language haha😅)
Dw your English is great! Thanks for requesting! (btw I’m testing out a new format!)
warnings: yandere, blood
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
방찬 - Bangchan
He knows what he’s doing, the moment you yelped in pain he’s there with all the supplies needed. You don’t even have to explain why you got hurt cause he knows somehow. “I know it’s just a cut but you have to be more careful.” Chan wrapped your index finger with the bandage carefully, while you’re there a little stunt back, you didn’t tell him that???
If it’s someone that hurt you, he’s gonna comfort you make sure all your injuries are okay, give you soothing words, good food, everything you want when you are sick/hurt. to whoever did that you’re done for
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
한지숭 - Han Jisung
It depends if you are okay with the injury or not. If you are just chill about it, he’ll help you but in a chill, teasing way, but if you are clearly mad and upset about it then Jisung would comfort you and try to cheer you up. It’s a “if you are annoyed then I’m annoyed” with him.
But if it’s someone attacking you then he switches immediately, asking who did this to you and pampering you with whatever you needed in the moment, he gets way more serious. Even if you try to say it’s alright he insists that it’s not, Jisung lets you know that no one gets to treat you that way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
서청빈 - Seo Changbin
The moment you step home with an injured knee, he attacks you with questions so fast that you can’t catch up and answer all of it. He scolds you (lovingly ofc) to be more careful. He would patch you up very carefully but he’ll continue to tell you how you have to tell him when you get hurt like this, who did it and why.
Changbin would pick on you if you fell and hurt your knee, but he’d murder if it was someone else. And it’s obvious he would just by his expression, you get absolutely terrified when he stops scolding you and instead just asks who is it sternly. Terrifying.
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for requesting!!! I’m actually not very far into skz as I am to other groups! I hope this didn’t disappoint! (I’m not very good with heavy idol!Yandere either 😓)

“honestly, you’re useless. should’ve stayed eliminated.” the manager scoffed, rolling his eyes.
a look of hurt flashed across minho’s face before he ran off, soon followed by chan and felix.
“what. did you say to him?” jisung had a scary look on his face as he smiled sweetly.
“i SAID, he should’ve stayed eliminated.” the manager repeated, towering over the small jisung.
it took the combined efforts of hyunjin and jeongin to hold seungmin back.
“you UTTER ASSHOLE!” seungmin screeched, twisting in their hold.
the manager gasped and looked offended, and jeongin tried not to laugh.
“SHUT UP!” hannie screamed when the manager tried to speak again, reaching for the doorknob.
the man flinched at the sheer volume of the words, and tried to flee, just to get caught around the wrist by the one and only seo changbin.
changbin held him tightly to avoid escape, and the entire group went off on the man, screaming and shouting in his ears as loud as they can.
the manager twisted and shouted as his eardrums nearly exploded, shaking in changbin’s hold.
he was pushed out of the room, glasses and hat askew on his head.
he ran out of the building, and was never seen again.
some say that he had to go to the doctor, cause he went deaf.
hopefully.

I haven’t done a major tv watching update since last June. It almost feels overwhelming at this point but I really love writing down my thoughts. So I’ve decided to break it up into two posts. This post will be all of the shows I watched from June through December 2022.
finished:
The Uncanny Counter - A misfit teen is randomly chosen to join a group of demon hunters. A supernatural, found family, action adventure with heart.
Age of Youth (Hello My Twenties!) - An off-campus house for female college students as they navigate school, work, love, friendship and potential murder. Interesting characters but the plot is as messy as some of their rooms.
Link: Eat, Kill, Love - A chef develops a mysterious psychic connection with a young woman who enters his life causing him to feel all her turbulent emotions as he searches for his long lost twin sister. Another show that mixes love and murder. I love the main couple and all the food porn as the chef preps to open a new restaurant. Less happy about the murder plotline.
Abyss - I hate watched this for Ahn Hyo Seop. I’m a completionist. lol This is my lowest-rated kdrama so far.
Hotel Del Luna - A woman with a tragic past is magically tied to hotel for ghost on their way to the afterlife until a young man is summoned to fulfill his father’s debt to help her run the hotel and possibly set her free. A gender-swapped Beauty and the Beast retelling with ghosts.
I’m Not a Robot - A young chaebol with an allergy to humans is interested in financing a humanoid robot but, after a malfunction with the prototype, the scientist in charge recruits his ex-girlfriend to pose as the robot until it’s fixed. Enemies to lovers and star-crossed lovers as their fates align to heal their wounds and let their love blossom. I’ve watched it twice so far.
Extraordinary Attorney Woo - An autistic attorney fresh out of school joins her first law firm as she struggles to pursue her career and unexpectedly falls in love. Cute and heartwarming.
Café Minamdang - A former profiler becomes a shaman to investigate his friend’s death and runs into his friend’s sister who is searching for the truth herself. Even Seo In Guk couldn’t save this mess.
Alchemy of Souls - An assassin magically swaps bodies to stay alive and is secretly recruited to train a young mage and unlock his powers. This show is a Top 3 Kdrama for me. I LOVE IT. Fantasy, Romance, Humor, Action, Symbolism. A great ensemble cast but Lee Jae Wook really carries this drama. The ride or die main ship is everything.
While You Were Sleeping - Three people’s fates are tied together as they try to stop the bad premonitions they have from happening. It got a little cumbersome every time a new bad potential thing was revealed but I love the cast: Lee Jong Suk, Bae Suzy, Jung Hae In.
Never Have I Ever (S3) - This show is still firing on all cylinders and I’m here for the ride. Can’t wait for the finale season.
Pinocchio - A boy who lost his family in a tragedy gets adopted into a family that has a girl his own age who can’t lie. They grow up to be reporters to uncover the truth of everyday events and their simmering feelings for each other. I really enjoyed the found family, mystery and romance here.
Reacher - A lone wolf stumbles into a small town murder that hits closer to home that he could expect. A fun mystery and action jaunt through the countryside.
Dali and the Cocky Prince - A boisterous uncultured business man with alot of bravado crosses paths with a reserved art gallery director looking for investors. A sweet romance blossoms and the meaning of real family is explored. There was a lot of great comedy and romance but also some gut wrenching drama.
Little Women - Three sisters get entangled in a web of conspiracy surrounding a secret organization. There were some interesting things here but I was mostly bored.
Flower of Evil - A man who may be a serial killer and his wife who’s investigating the decades old murders as the truth slowly unravels their relationship. Sadly, this wasn’t for me. There were a few things that were interesting but again mostly bored. Also, when we got to the end I had the epiphany that I’ve seen this story before and I have: Fringe Season 3 Episode 2 is basically the whole main plot in one episode.
The Law Cafe - Two longtime but estranged friends end up using their law degrees to help everyday folks and go up against a big corporation together as they finally allow the sparks between them to ignite. A really cute romance with a few good cases but the overall show is a bit lacking.
W: Two Worlds - Fiction and reality begin to blend as the daughter of a comic book author is sucked into her father’s popular comic and is thrust into the life of the main character, a handsome adventurous CEO. An interesting premise with excellent chemistry between the leads, but gets repetitive in the second half and stunts the growth of our leads.
Love Between Fairy and Devil - My first cdrama and already one of my favorite shows ever! It’s literally a fairy tale with amazing bickering enemy to lovers leads, gorgeous costumes, sets and vfx, and a fantastic story with great foreshadowing, parallels and symbolism that pays off. I’m currently on my 5th rewatch. I regret nothing.
Star Trek: Picard (S1 & S2) - While I’m happy to see the og characters back on my screen and get to know a few new ones, I had major but differing issues for both of these seasons of Picard.
Bad Prosecutor - While I really like Do Kyung Soo and Lee Se Hee, the story was rather flat. Even the action couldn’t save it.
What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim - I now understand the hype for Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young. They are fantastic in their roles of chaebol and his assistant falling in love. I really enjoyed it but there was something I couldn’t put my finger on that held me back from loving it.
Kiss Goblin - I wanted to watch Bae In Hyuk in something while I was waiting for new episodes of Cheer Up. This cute web series was the perfect little show to get my fix.
Do You Like Brahms? - Park Eun Bin and Kim Min Jae star as a pair of introverted classical musicians with their own set of problems that find light in each other to grow in confidence as their relationship progresses. This is a very low-key show but it kept my attention throughout.
Fanletter, Please - A cute romcom mini-series about a widower, his ailing daughter, and the actress the daughter adores, who comes to visit the hospital where she’s being treated.
Cheer Up - If Bring It On was slightly more realistic and set in college but upped the spirit stick curse to a “someone will die” slasher movie prophecy. I loved the team spirit and the romance between the plucky yet reluctant new recruit and the practical dreamer Team Captain. There were a few things I wasn’t crazy about but I had a fun time.
May I Help You - If Lee Junyoung is in it, I will eventually watch it. lol This is about a young woman who gets the power to talk with the dead in the funeral parlor she works in to help them fix something they didn’t accomplish in their life. She keeps crossing path with a young man who works for an errand service company. As they fall in love, past secrets and present heartbreaks unfold putting their relationship to the test. I had a really good time until the last few episodes but it did end well.
Summer Strike - Another love story for introverts. A depressed city dweller decides to sell all her possessions that don’t fit in her backpack and travel the country. She lands in a small town, where she begins to heal as she’s slowly creates a new family for herself and falls in love with the local reclusive librarian who is a former math wiz, played by Im Siwan. This one was tough at times but very sweet too. Plus a great soundtrack. I had ‘Color’ by Sunnie on repeat.
Love is for Suckers - A variety show producer convinces her longtime friend to be a contestant on the dating show she’s producing right as they start to realize they are in deeply in love with each other. This had so much potential and started off strong but quickly became a mess when the dating show began filming. The romance between chef and the cartoonist kinda ended up stealing the show.

It’s not in a pirate's nature to work with other pirates.
This is the main sentiment that Hongjoong instilled into his crew from the moment they all joined him. He was adamant that, for as strong as his crew was, they would never need to or want to work with another crew. Funny how these things turn out, right?
After a fierce battle in the Caribbean sea against a rival crew, Hongjoong’s ship ‘The Aurora’ found herself with a sizeable hole in the side of her hull. Now, with his ship beached and unable to go anywhere or be fixed for the time being due to lack of resources, he had no choice but to ask for help. Hongjoong had sent out a message to the nearest ship, not knowing who would receive it, hoping and praying that he and his crew wouldn’t end up any worse than they already were.
A week had passed on the island that they had been stranded on, with nothing to show for it. The crew of the Aurora fared well, though; they were still able to sleep and cook on the ship, anyone with lost quarters now sharing with those who hadn’t. On day eight, a voice called out from the crow's nest “A ship! I see a ship on the horizon!” The joyful yell called down to the crew that sat on the deck below, “Someone get the Captain!” Everyone sprung into action in order to find their Captain who came out of his quarters at the urgent knocks on his door.
“Yunho! The flag, can you see it?” Hongjoong called up to the crow's nest, his voice booming across the quiet deck.
“Barely! But I can make out parts of it” Yunho called back, his telescope moving about to get a better look, “I can make out the three letters on their flag? It’s just an S, K and Z, Captain!”
Murmurs of confusion rang around the deck, hushing at the raise of their Captain's hand. Hongjoong knew exactly who it was. He had no grievances with the crew of the 0325 despite not knowing them well, but you? By the gods, you drove him insane. From the one encounter that he had shared with you in a tavern, he knew you held a similar amount of power as him. But compared to him, you were far more mischievous despite being two years his elder. He couldn’t stand the way you threw playful jeers at him and mocked the state of his drunken crew that night. Hate was a strong word for how he felt about you but nothing could knock away the twisting of his stomach when your eyes scanned his face that night.
“Seonghwa, San, Mingi!” He called out, knowing they weren’t too far behind him, “Prepare to disembark. We have negotiations to make.”
That’s how Hongjoong found himself face to face with you on the stark white beaches of this desolate island, cane at his side despite how it sunk further and further into the sand every time he moved it.
“My, my, Hongjoong!” You grinned, clapping your hands together in glee. “When I got your message I knew you needed help. But I didn’t think it would be this bad.”
In all honesty, you were lying. You had been the only one to read his message that held a detailed description of the damages done to his ship, but the thought of annoying him even the smallest amount was far too appealing in this moment. Your crew had been confused as to why you wanted to help but all voted to help nonetheless once they saw the mischievous glint in your eye. To your sides stood two shorter males, one of broad stature and the other slightly slimmer, but no less intimidating with the way his cat-like gaze scanned the three opposite him.
“Cut the shit, Y/N. You know why both of us are here; are we going to negotiate the agreement we’re coming to or what?” Hongjoong gritted out, his teeth grinding as he gripped his cane harder.
“Temper, Hongjoong. Having one will get you nowhere with me.” The grin never left your face, but no one missed the way that your eyes hardened when locking with the other Captains, “But please do step aboard and I’ll be happy to discuss this with you. Though- Your dear navigator, quartermaster and weapons master will have to stay here. My crew aren’t expecting other guests right now.”
“How can I expect you not to pull anything if you have your entire crew and I have no one?” Hongjoong questioned, face unamused and his eyebrow quirked.
You let out a low hum in response. “I suppose that’s fair, but you have my word. Chan and Minho will stay here to keep your crew company. The rest of my crew is busy so no need to worry about them.”
“Loose words from a Captain, Y/n.”
“You have my word Hongjoong. Captain’s and pirate’s honour.”
“I suppose that will do.” Hongjoong sighed.
Turning back to the three behind him, he made sure to give them a look that read, ‘Do not let anything happen while I’m away, and be on your guard’ before turning back and nodding to you. The walk aboard your ship was in silence, which gave the shorter Captain time to observe the vessel he was now on. It was spotless, not a speck of mess on the deck; the roping was bundled up and out the way much like your crew it seemed. Where were they? And why did it matter if they knew you had guests aboard?
“Some of my crew are sensitive to guests. Due to… previous transgressions with past guests.” You spoke up as if reading his mind, opening the door to your quarters. Your quarters were just as tidy as the rest of the ship, the only mess being the maps spread across your desk. Hongjoong noted messy notes that sat on top of them, not surprised to see a rough sketch of how to get to the island they were currently on. The shelves behind your desk were overflowing, there were so many books, some in languages Hongjoong couldn’t read and some handwritten. Next to the shelves were some plants. How you kept them alive while being at sea most of the time Hongjoong would never know but he was impressed nonetheless - they looked to be thriving based on the multitude of new and old plants that scattered the room. Towards the corner of the room was a hammock, not an uncommon sight aboard ships given the constant rocking. What stood out to him was how new it looked. Either you had recently got a new one or you weren’t much for sleeping like himself.
“Surprisingly clean quarters you have here.” Hongjoong murmured out.
“Were you expecting them to be messier?” You replied from your place across the room with an amused tone, “Minho likes things clean, my quarters are no exception to his cleanliness. Oh, please do take a seat.”
With a nod, Hongjoong sat himself at one of the chairs in front of your desk, pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they were.
“Listen, I’d like to get this over and done with as soon as possible. My crew is waiting on me after all.” He said, resting his cane against the desk in front of him. He watched as you removed your long coat and draped it over the back of the chair before sitting down with a nod.
“I agree that it would be nice to get this over and done with but it’s not like you and your crew are going anywhere any time soon. Right, Captain?” Hongjoong couldn’t help but scowl at your words and before he could speak up you continued, “I’ll cut to the chase. My crew and ship don’t have the resources to help fix the Aurora either. That’s why I’m offering to take you to the nearest market city to get what you need and get back.”
“If you didn’t have the resources, why come at all?”
“Would you rather it was one of your enemies that got the message and came to massacre your crew?” You questioned with a quirk of an eyebrow, leaning forwards to rest your chin on clasped hands. “We’ll head to Maglen, they have plenty of carpenters who should have spare wood for your Aurora. The journey should take three weeks total, should there be no storms along the way. I can’t have your entire crew aboard my ship due to limited space but you’re welcome to bring the main crew you seem to have. They’ll all have their own rooms but they’re welcome to share if it makes them feel safer. Any questions?”
You had managed to cover most bases with ease but something sat in the pit of Hongjoong’s stomach, an unease for the safety of his crew. “I know nothing about your crew; how can you ensure the safety of mine?”
“Despite any rumours of my crew, I can assure you that they won’t harm yours while they are aboard my ship. Should your crew step out of line, they’re free to deal with the issue how they see fit. If my crew step out of line, I will deal with it personally.” You sighed out, “I’ll make it clear now that I expect your crew to be on their best behaviour while aboard. That goes for you as well.”
“That hardly seems fair that your crew would get to punish my own-“ Hongjoong spoke, his mouth set in a hard line.
“Oh don’t get me wrong, it’s merely a precaution,” You grinned back. “Your crew is free to retaliate however they’d like. But know that if it is out of pettiness, the punishments will be given by myself.”
Hongjoong did not enjoy the implications of your words but it was clear you weren’t going to budge, not while you could dangle the chance of his ship getting back out to sea over his head. His eyes made contact with yours, the grin on your face betraying the steel that was in your eyes. “Fine. Consider it a done deal.” He grumbled, “I’ll let my crew know and we’ll meet you at the gangway just before sunset.” He watched as you leaned back in your seat, legs crossing as a more-than-pleased smile met your lips.
“Pleasure to do negotiations with you Hongjoong. I’ll show you out.”
Once he was back aboard his own ship, Hongjoong couldn’t help but let out a frustrated groan. Everyone watched their Captain practically throw his hat and coat atop the nearest barrel, breath held as they waited for him to speak.
“Listen up!” He called out. “The main crew and I will have to take a trip to Maglen with the crew of the 0325. There are enough resources to keep you all alive and functioning for the three weeks that we’re going to be away so I expect there to be no issues when we get back!” Murmurs filled the deck; with the entire main crew away, what were the rest going to do if there was an attack? If someone got hurt?
“Captain, we didn't even vote on this!” Someone spoke up from the crowd.
“I’m well aware of that but we have no choice-“ The Captain responded, lips twisting as he remembered how pleased you seemed at his agreement to travel with your crew. “It’s either this or we’re permanently stuck here. You’re all trained in how to do things without us and there are enough supplies for all of you so, if everything goes to plan, we’ll be back at sea in four weeks.”
As he had said, Hongjoong met you and your crew just as the skies had started to turn burnt due to the setting sun. The eight of his crew lined up side by side to meet the nine of your crew
“Glad to see you could join us Hongjoong.” You said, the smile on your face not quite meeting your eyes.
“Stop dragging this out, Y/n,” Hongjoong replied, rolling his eyes. “Let’s get this over with.”
“Very well then- It’s my pleasure to welcome you aboard the 0325. I’m the Captain of the 0325 and this is my quartermaster, Chan.” You greeted, hands gesturing to the male at your right and then back to the ship behind you. “Treat her with the respect you’d give your dear Aurora and I’m sure we’ll have no problems.”
“What kind of name is 0325 for a ship?” a voice scoffed with disbelief, “Sounds more like a sla-“ Click- The two groups fell into silence at the familiar sound of a pistol being cocked, trigger ready in a moment's notice.
You couldn’t help but sigh, a small smirk drifting to your lips as you turned and set off up the gangway and towards the helm.
“Stand down, Changbin.” You paused, turning to face the crew of the Aurora once more but with a scowl; any sense of amicability thrown overboard. “I’ll remind you again that I would recommend keeping your crew in line while aboard my ship, Hongjoong. I won’t take action against them unless needed- But I’m sure some of my crew would be more than happy to see it that the troublemakers here don’t get to see your Aurora again.”
Hongjoong couldn’t help but let out a low growl at your words. Who did you think you were to threaten his crew? However, he knew he had to tread carefully with his words; saying the wrong thing would not end well for either side. “It’s Captain Hongjoong to you.”
“My apologies, Captain.“ You grinned, voice lilting, knowing you had the upper hand, “Chan will show you where your quarters are. I do hope you can make yourselves useful while you’re here~” With that, you disappeared off to the helm; this left your crew alone with Hoongjoongs crew. The silence was suffocating, no one willing to speak up and break the tension between the two groups.
“Well, as Captain Y/n said, my name is Chan and I’m the quartermaster here. I’ll introduce the rest and then we can get on our way.“ Chan finally spoke, “The one who, oh so kindly raised a gun to you all is Changbin. He’s our weapons master. Next to him are our rigging monkeys, Jisung and Jeongin. You’ll find them on the ropes most of the time and Jisung more so in the crow's nest. On the end there is Seungmin, our gunner mate; he works with Changbin on the cannons when they need to be used and is mostly in charge of keeping them in a battle-ready condition. To my left is Minho, our navigator-“
“Stay out of my way and don’t touch my maps and we’ll have no problems.“ Minho cut in, his cat-like gaze grazing across the crew in front of him.
Chan couldn’t help the sigh that escaped his lips “Anyways…” He began again with a shake of his head at the attitude of his crewmate. “Next to Minho is our medic, Hyunjin, and our chef, Felix. Captain has asked me to inform you all that you’ll all still be working the same positions as you did aboard the Aurora, just so that we can keep this journey as streamlined as possible. Now if you’ll all follow me, I’ll take you to your rooms.”
“Surely we should introduce ourselves too?” Yunho spoke up
“Oh, there’s no need!” Felix chirped from where he stood, his hands deftly adjusting the apron around his hips, “We already know who you all are.”
“That’s not suspicious at all…” Wooyoung mumbled. The two crews fell into silence once more as they followed Chan aboard the ship and down into where the quarters were, the crew of the Aurora now alone with the quartermaster as the others went back to their work.
“Here’s where you all will be staying. It’s not much compared to the Aurora, I’m sure.” Chan grimaced as he turned back to the crew behind him, gesturing to the eight doors behind him. “You’re welcome to double up or be on your own, it’s all up to you. I’ll leave you to get settled. Dinner will be in a few hours, you’ll hear the bell when it's ready. We hope you’ll join us, Felix is an amazing cook.” With a small smile and nod of his head, the crew of the Aurora watched as Chan headed back up the deck, no doubt to your side at the helm.
They all piled into one of the small rooms, taking seats in any place they could. “I don’t like this Hongjoong.“ Wooyoung spoke up from his spot on the floor, “This feels all too suspicious for my liking.” The rest let out murmurs of agreement at the cook's words.
“I know. I don’t like it either but if we want to get back to sea we have to do this.” Hongjoong grumbled.
“What did Captain Y/n even say to you to get you to agree without letting us vote anyways?” Seonghwa questioned, his eyes showing concern for the predicament they had found themselves in. “And how do they all know who we are but we didn’t know who they were?”
“Seonghwa, I wish I knew. I really do. But we’re just going to have to deal with this the best we can-“ Stress was visible on the Captain's features as his hand gripped at his cane, “actually- I think I have an idea. Wooyoung?”
“Yes, Captain?”
“I have a small mission for you. Think you can do it?”
A more than mischievous grin met Wooyoungs lips. “When have I ever let you down, Captain?”
It wasn’t long before the 0325 was at sea and the familiar gentle rocking of the sea filled everyone’s bodies. Everyone had agreed on rooming arrangements, most opting to stay on their own while Wooyoung and San chose to share a room. None of them had left the one room they all piled into yet, discussions of their situation at hand filling the room and a few small side conversations flitting in between every so often. Suddenly, ringing from the main deck could be heard. Dinner was ready. Slowly, they all piled out of the room and out to the deck; there they found that a table and a few smaller tables had been pulled together to create a larger one, enough to fit all of both crews around it. Plates were spread across the tables, some larger plates of meats, vegetables and grains towards the middle
“Ah, so you are joining us!” came a gleeful voice from behind the crew making them all turn around at once; it was Felix. “I hope you don’t mind the mess of tables. We don’t usually have guests of this amount very often.” A heavy thunk filled everyone’s ears as a larger stew pot was placed in the centre of the tables. Felix was stronger than he looked given how full the pot was. “Everyone else will be out in a moment. They always take their time.” The chef pouted, wiping his hands on his apron.
As if on cue, whooping could be heard from above. “Oi, Felix! Is that beef stew I see?” A voice yapped from above.
“Jisung, you and I both know that you can see exactly what’s on this table. Even from the crow's nest,” Felix yelled back, “Now get your ass down here so we can eat!” Seconds later, two sets of footsteps joined them all on the deck; one quicker than the other as Jisung stumbled onto the deck.
“God I have got to get better at that.” The lookout whined, letting go of the rope he had swung down on.
“You’ve been here longer than I have and you still can’t do it.” Jeongin chimed in, “I don’t think you ever will be able to.“
Jisung let out a mock gasp, grabbing at his shirt as if he had been shot. “How could you do this to me Jeongin! My own baby!” He cried out before reaching out for the younger. “C’mere you lil’ shit-“
“Can we have at least one meal with some semblance of peace?” Sighed a voice, the tone not holding any actual malice to it, “Please?”
Behind Felix now stood the rest of the crew of the 0325, the voice belonging to Minho. The only member of the crew that seemed to be missing was you; of course, this made sense. Someone had to steer the ship while everyone ate and with the nerves of having guests on the ship, it didn’t seem likely you were willing to leave your post at the helm any time soon.
“Is it always this… chaotic?” Seonghwa quizzed, the question aimed at Chan, who seemed to appear out of thin air at his side.
The quartermaster let out an amused hum. “Usually it’s worse. But I suppose they’re on better behaviour today.” He replied, “Oh, please, do sit. Captain won’t be joining us but no need to worry, he’ll eat later.”
Dinner time with both crews went surprisingly smoothly despite the tension that loomed in the air. While Hongjoong’s crew were all visibly on edge, the others didn’t seem to be worried at all; at least, if they were, they didn’t show it at all. Minor pleasantries about the food were passed around the table, much to Felix’s joy. Other than this, not many conversations were had. Once everyone had their fill, Hongjoong watched as Felix pulled together a plate of food from what was left and how he scurried off towards the helm. Chan followed not too far behind, likely in order to take over steering. Throughout the meal, Hongjoong made sure to take in how the members of your crew interacted with each other in the presence of his crew, and how they interacted with his own; on the surface, everything seemed neutral, no one making any kind of remark towards his crew and only to each other. He could see how they all got along and how the dynamics of each relationship they had worked. He noted how Minho and Jisung seemed to be a lot closer to each other compared to the rest of the group, their comments to each other filled with mischief but their actions filled with love as he watched Minho put more stew on Jisung’s plate when the latter wasn’t looking. Chan and Felix also seemed close; their voices, tinted with a similar accent hinted that they hailed from the same place, possibly that they lived close when they were younger. Changbin, Hyunjin, Seungmin and Jeongin remained enigmas to him; the four opting to keep to themselves instead of interacting like the others, choosing to speak when spoken to.
“You can all head back to your quarters if you’d like?” Felix chimed, now back at the table, “We can clean up. You should all get settled in if you haven’t already.”
“Felix- Y/n said that they should pull their weight when aboard,” Minho mused, “Let them help.”
Hongjoong could hear the small gasps that escaped some of his crew; This was the first that any of them had heard you be addressed by name alone, no honourifics used. It was a shock at first but not surprising, they all did the same with their Captain. While Hongjoong didn’t particularly want his crew helping out on their first night aboard, the mission that he had given Wooyoung flit back into his memory
“Actually, we’d be more than happy to help.” Hongjoong spoke as he stood, dusting off the invisible dust from his trousers. “I’m sure you don’t need all of us so Wooyoung and I will help.”
Wooyoung couldn’t help the gawped sound that left his mouth. He began to protest but the look that his Captain gave was enough to tell him to just do as he said, “Y-Yeah! I suppose it’ll give me a chance to get to know the kitchen more since we’ll be working together. Right?” He sputtered out, quickly moving to his Captains side.
“Ah, perfect! If you two could just grab any plates left over and then follow me, I’ll show you where the kitchen is.” Felix’s grin was almost blinding. The two couldn’t help but question how he ended up on a pirate ship with a personality like his; with his skill of cooking, he could have easily been a chef in a peaceful town, leading a lawful life. Nevertheless, the two scooped up the remaining plates and followed the blond down to the kitchen.
The kitchen wasn’t small but it wasn’t huge either. It was clearly made for a much bigger crew than what was currently residing on the 0325.
“You can just put the plates down there on the side. Don’t worry about cleaning them,“ Felix said, placing what he held down on the side, “I have a certain way I like to clean them. Ah! Wooyoung you’re more than welcome to stick around and familiarise yourself with the kitchen if you’d like? I’m sure Captain Hongjoong would like some rest.”
The two members of the Aurora gave a subtle nod to each other, an agreement to stick to what they came here for. With that, Hongjoong headed off and Wooyoung began looking around; the kitchen was spotless, much like the rest of the ship. There were a few barrels towards the corner of the room and a long table and bench to the side of them; nearer to the stoves were lines of knives on the wall. There were far too many for them to all be used for cooking. Surely Felix didn’t use them for battles?
“That’s a rather extensive knife collection you have going on…” Wooyoung murmured out, taking one off the wall and marvelling at how sharp it was.
“I don’t use all of them if that’s what you’re wondering” Felix replied, mirth evident in his voice. “Changbin has a penchant for buying pretty knives when we stop off in merchant towns. The collection seems to have gotten out of hand if you ask me.”
Putting the knife back, the taller of the two watched how quickly the other went about the task of cleaning dishes. The speed that Felix could clean dishes was far above what he could do, that’s for sure. The two worked around each other in silence for a little while, Wooyoung opting to observe the mannerisms of Felix. From the small tune that he hummed to himself to how he glided around the kitchen as if it was his second home, Wooyoung couldn’t imagine a negative bone ever existing in the pixie-like boy’s body. However, he knew his Captain would be a little annoyed if he came back with no information to show.
“So, how come your Captain eats after everyone else?” He pried, hoping it wasn’t too early to be so personal.
“He’s always been like that…” Felix mused, “Even in times of famine aboard our ship, Captain would make sure that we all ate before he did. He really does take care of us, you know?”
Wooyoung couldn’t say much in response but nodded his head; Hongjoong had been the same with his crew. When hard times hit, he made sure that everyone was taken care of, even if it meant putting his health last.
“He seems like the more mischievous type than the caring type. No offence-“ Wooyoung replied.
“None taken-“ The other waved him off, “Captain seems like that at first- it’s a justified assumption based on what you’ve seen of him so far- but I promise you that there’s far more to him than just baseless teasing.”
“Oh? You say he’s a lot more caring but he seemed pretty angry earlier at the gangway.” The memory still fresh on his brain, Wooyoung recalled the pistol being readied with vividness. Clearly, he had said something wrong when he spoke up about the ship’s naming.
“Captain tends to share his crew mates' anger. You managed to piss off Changbin so you managed to piss him off too.” Felix sighed, now drying his hands off with his apron. “Don’t take it personally… Or do. I’d just suggest not making the Captain angry directly. Because that’s something no one likes to experience.”
The two entered silence once more. With the dishes now done, there wasn’t much more reason for Wooyoung to stick around. “It’s been nice talking to you, Felix, but I should head off now.”
“It was nice talking to you too. Don’t worry about helping with breakfast tomorrow, I’ll have that covered. But I will need your help from lunch onwards,” Felix grinned, watching as the other waved from the doorway and disappeared. “Sleep well!”
When Wooyoung had reported everything he could to his Captain, he didn’t miss the disgruntled look that flickered across Hongjoong’s face. Hongjoong knew that it would be hard to get any kind of information about your crew, but he didn’t expect even your friendliest crew member to be a tough nut to crack. While he and Wooyoung relayed information back and forth in hushed tones, gentle thuds came across the floorboards outside the Captain's quarters. The two went silent, breaths bated; they couldn’t hear much past the footfall of boots but they were able to pick up a few words: ‘Felix’, ‘need to talk’ and ‘Captain’. Hongjoong grimaced, surely it was a coincidence that you wanted to talk to Felix? Especially after Wooyoung had spent time questioning him. Hongjoong shared a look with his chef and Wooyoung knew what he had to do.
It was time for him to make use of some skills he didn’t get to use very often.
Days went by and Hongjoong still had nothing to show for his efforts; not a lick of information on you or your crew. At this point, he was questioning why he was even trying to find out more about you and your crew. What was the whole point of this? It was frustrating.
At this point, he was considering going directly to the source and asking you just how you knew so much about him and his crew. Your knowing of him was unsurprising given the one night he had seen you in that beaten-down tavern, but the rest of his crew? None of it made sense to him. With a groan, Hongjoong hauled himself from the desk that he was sitting at, cringing at the cracking his knees let out. His guts twisted with nerves as he climbed up to the deck and made his way towards your quarters; why the hell was he nervous? He had fought multitudes of enemies and gone on life-threatening missions and not experienced feelings like this. Just why was he so nervous about asking you a simple question? Glancing at the helm, the Captain made eye contact with your quartermaster at the wheel. Not wanting to stick around, Hongjoong offered him a small nod before continuing, stopping in front of your door. Letting out a deep sigh, he knocked on the door, clenching his fist when he heard a gruff “Come in!” through the door.
When he entered the room, Hongjoong could see the stress on your features. Your coat had been tossed over your hammock and the tunic you wore hung loosely around your neck, offering glimpses of a scarred chest. You ran a hand through your already messed up hair, placing the quill that was in the other hand down as you looked up to see who had entered.
“Captain Hongjoong, a pleasant surprise. Please, take a seat” You greeted, eyes never leaving him as he remained where he was. “What can I do for you?”
Hongjoong took a deep breath and steeled himself once more.
“How do you know so much about my crew and I?” He queried, getting straight to the point, “How is it that you know so much about us and I know so little of you and your crew?”
“My, my! Straight to the point today. I was wondering how long it was going to take for you to ask me this.” You laughed, leaning back in your chair.
“What do you mean ‘how long'?” Hongjoong had been caught off guard once more, he wasn’t expecting you to expect his questions.
“It’s been quite obvious from the beginning that you wanted to know more about us, Captain.” You replied, “I was simply wondering how long it would take for you to stop observing my crew and ask me. Surely you had to know you wouldn’t get any answers out of them just by watching?”
“That still doesn’t answer my question, Y/n-“ Hongjoong seethed, watching as you stood to put the book that you had been reading back where it belonged “Just how do you know so much about us?”
You turned and met eyes with the others, his eyes a burning flame. “Tell me, Hongjoong. Do you remember that night we met in Tortuga?” You questioned, coming to stand behind your desk.
“Tortuga? Of course, I do.” He grumbled out “I don’t see what this has to do with anything-“
“Ahhhh just listen- Did you see my crew that night? In the tavern?” You continued, “I remember your crew very vividly. Despite not interacting with them once, I do remember that they were very… intoxicated.”
“I don’t recall seeing your crew. Why?” Now Hongjoong was very confused. What did your crew have to do with any of this?
“They were there that night. You may not have noticed them but they all managed to converse with your crew.” The grin that was on your face widened as you placed your hands down on the desk, leaning forwards to get closer to the other Captain. “In fact, I’m pretty sure one of yours decided to bed one of my crew that night. Seonghwa is your quartermaster, is he not? Minho told me all about him.”
At this point, Hongjoong had flushed red. He didn’t want to think about that night much more but knowing that one of his crew had slept with someone from your crew? His head was spinning. In an attempt to preserve any sense of dignity he had as a Captain, Hongjoong tried to look anywhere but your eyes. His eyes darted around the room and then back to you, but not to your face. To the open gap of your shirt, where he could clearly see down to your bare chest. He quickly looked away, clearing his throat before bringing his eyes to yours once more.
“I didn’t know of… their endeavours… together” Hongjoong almost wheezed out, his stomach curling at the smug look your face held.
“You're looking rather flustered there, Hongjoong.” You teased with a tilt of your head, leaning forwards, having not missed where his gaze went earlier. “Who would have thought you’d get flustered over a little sex.”
Hongjoong felt trapped under your gaze, the intensifying swirling of his stomach all too familiar for his liking. He watched as your eyes scanned his face, then his neck and finally the rest of his body.
“What they do or did is none of my business.” He stated, shifting where he stood. “Sex doesn’t bother me in the slightest.” He tried to sound firm in his words but the way his words trailed off were a clear indication of his embarrassment.
“Never suggested that it did-“ Hongjoong startled when you suddenly stood, his eyes immediately drawn back to your face “-but the way you reacted gave me a feeling. You’re not the type to indulge, are you, Captain?” The shorter stuttered and stammered as he tried to formulate a response, not that you were expecting one anyways. As you made your way around the desk and towards him, Hongjoong took equal steps backwards, the pair finding themselves against the door to your quarters. Hongjoong could have almost dropped his cane when your hand landed next to his head, effectively pinning him against the door; his knees weakened and his pulse raised. What were you doing to him?
“What are you-“
“You may not be the type to indulge in more… salacious encounters. But there’s only so long you can go without one.” You muttered out, voice dropping into a deeper, raspy tone. “I wonder just how long it’ll take before you break, Captain.” Your knee had found a place between the other's legs as your head dipped down, lips dangerously close to Hongjoong’s ear.
Despite the long coat and loose trousers that Hongjoong wore, nothing could hide the slowly growing problem below the surface of the fabrics. The Captain was almost repulsed by himself. How dare you have this effect on him, just who did you think you were?
As he was about to retort, a knock came at the door.
“Captain?”
It was Jeongin.
With a sigh, you stepped back, Hongjoong not missing the adjustments you made to your shirt and trousers as you went back to take a seat on the edge of your desk. Hongjoong made quick work of moving himself away from the door, opting to button up his coat partially to hide any signs of what had been happening. He situated himself a few metres away from you, not missing the way you whispered, “this isn’t over,” before calling your youngest crew member in.
Jeongin looked nervous, immediately sensing the tension in the room. His hand gripped at the handle of his sword as he eyed up Hongjoong and then you, trying to figure out if there was any aggression between the two of you.
“Captain we need to speak.” He finally spoke up, once again eyeing up Hongjoong. “Privately. If you could.”
“That’s alright Jeongin. Captain Hongjoong was just on his way out. Weren’t you?” The oh-so-familiar teasing tone back in your voice as if nothing had happened just moments ago.
Hongjoong could do nothing but nod mutely, making his way to the door. Before closing it, he took one more glance behind him; only to be met with your lookout’s steely, dark eyes.
Then the door shut in his face. Muffled voices could only be heard now and they were too quiet for him to listen into. Defeated, the Captain headed back to his temporary quarters; as he walked across the deck, the lingering feeling of eyes settled on his back causing him to shudder. Glancing around and seeing nothing had Hongjoong shrugging, assuming it was just the wind, and continuing with his short journey.
The next days came with nothing to show in terms of information; Wooyoung often came to visit with licks of information on various crew members but never anything of sustenance. Soon, both crews would be in Maglen and Hongjoong still had nothing gained from his efforts.
Hongjoong couldn’t help but let out a deep sigh of frustration, fingers rubbing over the decorative top of his cane in an attempt to soothe himself. It really wasn’t in a pirate's nature to willingly work with another pirate, so why did his stomach twist pleasantly every time he was close to you? At first, he thought there could be some foul magic at play. Maybe one of your crew were secretly of magical lineage? What a stupid assumption, Hongjoongs thoughts would berate him.
Before he could spiral deeper into his own world, the door to his room slammed open with a bang.
“You’re one vile excuse of a Captain, Kim Hongjoong.” A voice snarled from behind him. The chair he was sat in was forced to turn round, the cane that was once in the Captain's hand being snatched up by whoever had barged into his quarters. As he was about to yell at whoever had just interrupted his privacy, Hongjoong’s chin was forced up by his cane; the back of his chair hitting the desk behind him with force. With his head being forced up, he met eyes with the flames that were lit behind your own. Of course, it was you.
It always was.
“I offer my help to you and your crew and this is how you repay me?” Your voice was filled with venom that lit a fire under the other Captain's skin, “On my own ship nonetheless?”
“What are you on about?” Hongjoong grit out, grimacing when he glanced down; only to have the top of his cane pressed harder into his chin.
“You think it’s funny to have your little chef spy on my crew?” You questioned, bringing your face closer to his, “He’s not as stealthy as you think he is, Hongjoong. Even if he was a trained assassin at one point in his life.”
Hongjoongs eyes blew wide with surprise. How did you even know that? Especially when everything of Wooyoung’s past had been removed from existence. “Ho-“
“How do I know?” You cut in, “Let me tell you something, Captain.” You took a step back, watching as Hongjoong rubbed at his chin with a slight grimace. “You and your crew aren’t as subtle as you think you are.”
With that you let the protective cover of Hongjoong’s cane drop, exposing the blade that lay beneath.
Shit.
Hongjoong was fucked; royally fucked.
“Jeongin noticed something fishy going on with your crew. I didn’t want to believe him at first but when I decided to do a little investigation of my own, his words couldn’t have been more true.” Your words spat down at him like venom, “Who do I find creeping around at night? And watching every single thing my crew do? Even taking peeks at my armoury and handling weapons that aren’t his own? None other than your dear Wooyoung. I have half a mind to kill you right here and cause a bloodbath on this ship.” The sharp point of his own sword found itself at Hongjoong’s neck, a less than gentle pressure causing a small dribble of scarlet to trail down his throat.
“You wouldn’t do that-“ He started.
“Wouldn’t I?” You interrupted once more, eyes devoid of emotion. “You know nothing of me, Hongjoong. I’ll happily slit your throat here and now, but I won’t. For the sake of your crew and my own, I’d rather have the satisfaction of blowing your Aurora to pieces and leaving your bodies as food for the fish.”
The shorter felt the pressure on his neck lessen. And, in a moment of what could only be seen as absolute stupidity, he decided to take the time to slip in a snide remark “Coward.“
He didn’t have time to react as a fist collided with the side of his face, sending him flying onto his side. The sound of metal hitting the floor rang through his ears, becoming a high-pitched whine as the heel of your boot kicked into his stomach and ribs repeatedly. What were only seconds felt like minutes as Hongjoong heaved up the contents of his stomach and gasped for air. Maybe calling you a coward wasn’t the smartest idea-
“I thought you’d be better than this, Hongjoong” You mocked, crouching down and gripping at his hair to pull his head up and out of his own sick. “I suppose you’re no better than me, though. After all, we are pirates, aren’t we?” His head dropped back down onto the floor with a dull thud, Hongjoong was only able to watch as you stood and stepped over his body to the desk. He knew exactly what you were going for, the notebook that sat open; the contents being any and all information he had on your crew. He let out a garbled groan of protest, his stomach threatening to come up again at the attempt to speak; you made no move to acknowledge him as you hummed a sailor's tune. Snapping the notebook shut and shoving it in your pocket immediately quietened the Captain that lay on the floor. You’re a fucking idiot, Hongjoong’s thoughts reminded him.
“It’s a shame it had to come to this, really” You spoke, once again crouching down in front of the other. “Hmmmm even in a puddle of your own vomit, you somehow still manage to look good… I can’t wait to see you ruined, pretty boy.'' And with a sick grin, you left, leaving Hongjoong to process what had just happened.
Was that a threat? The idea made his stomach twist more, or was that the pain and nausea? Who knew? His crew was in danger, that’s the main thought that rang through his head at the moment.
With all the noise and commotion, it wasn’t surprising that Hongjoong soon heard Jongho and Seonghwa entering his room; the two always slept the latest. Noises of alarm left the two, Seonghwa rushing to his Captain's side as Jongho ran off to get Yeosang.
“Joong, what happened?!” Seonghwa’s tone was erratic with panic and concern.
Hongjoong could only groan in reply, curling in on himself more, not caring for the vomit that now found itself home in his long hair.
“I’m a fucking idiot. That’s what happened-“ his stomach emptied once more “-We’ve been figured out, Hwa. Y/n knows that I’ve been trying to get more information.”
Seonghwa didn’t press further, knowing this was a discussion to be had later when his Captain wasn’t chucking his guts up anymore. The Quartermaster moved aside as he heard their medic enter the room. Yeosang let out a squawk of alarm, rushing to Hongjoong’s side much like Seonghwa had.
“I… I called him a coward” Hongjoong muttered out, letting Yeosang pull him up and lean him back against the foot of the bed.
“Why the hell would you call him a coward, Hongjoong?” Yeosang questioned, attempting to get off the Captains vomit stained tunic. “Are you stupid?”
Hongjoong shot a glare at Jongho when he heard the youngest mutter out, “Clearly”
“He found out and threatened to kill me. But said he wouldn’t because he’d rather have the satisfaction of blowing up the Aurora.” He sighed out, wincing as the medic poked and prodded at his side, “So he punched me… and then kicked me. He also took the notebook of information I had been making-“
“Oh, my seas… you really are stupid Hongjoong” Seonghwa groaned, pinching at his furrowed brow.
The four sat in silence as Yeosang continued to treat his captain.
“Okay, so, there’s gonna be a lot of bruising, but nothing seems to be broken… and you didn’t vomit any blood so that’s always a plus.” Yeosang summarised.
“We need to have a crew meeting about this.” Hongjoong jumped in immediately
“ ‘We’ are going to be doing nothing, for now, Hongjoong.” Yeosang replied quickly. “You are going to rest and we are going back to sleep. It’s the middle of the night-“
“But-“
“No buts. I know you’re stupid but you’re not stupid enough to go against your medics' advice, are you, Captain?”
“How many times are you all going to call me stupid for this?” Hongjoong whined out.
“As many times as it takes for you to learn your lesson, Joong” Seonghwa added in, amusement in his features but not enough to hide the stress he was clearly experiencing. “Just wait until the rest hear about this-“
“Oh for fuck’s sake- San’s going to have a field day with this, isn’t he?”
“Yes he is.“
Neither crew spoke or interacted till the ship arrived in Maglen, both crews immediately disembarking the moment the port authorities approved the 0325’s docking. Since the carpenter contact you had would need a day to prepare the materials needed, both crews opted to stay at an inn for the night; this inn also happened to double as a tavern. This is how both crews drew a truce and ended up in the situation they were currently in.
All of the members of each crew sat at a long table that resided in a darker corner of the tavern, a crew to each side of the table. Tankards of ale and rum, some empty but most not, were scattered across the table and everyone seemed to be in various states of drunkenness. While Jongho, Hongjoong, Changbin and you all seemed entirely sober. The same could not be said for Felix, Chan, San and Wooyoung. The four were entirely wasted, spouting meaningless words in conversation and groaning every time they continued to sip at the alcohol that remained in their hands.
“Changbin, remind me to not let Chan steer at all tomorrow when we set off.” You commented, sipping at the rum in your cup as you eyed up the mess that was your Quartermaster.
“‘Course Captain.” Changbin agreed with a nod, “Who’s going to steer when you’re not though? Minho?”
The weapons master glanced curiously at you when he heard you chuckle.
“By the looks of it, Minho will be a little occupied tonight.” you glanced down at the mentioned, watching as he eyed up Seonghwa across the table with hunger, “Possibly busy the rest of the day too.”
Changbin made a face of disgust when he spotted the glances his friend shared with Hongjoong’s Quartermaster, the hints clicking together in his head.
“Gross-“
“I’m going to get Chan some water,” You sighed, watching as his head hit the table with a groan, “He’s going to have a mean hangover tomorrow and I’d rather he wasn’t sick right now.”
Hongjoong’s head shot up at the mention of sick, the word pulling memories from the other night to the front of his mind. He watched as you got up and weaved your way through the busy tavern towards the bar; for a moment he thought of joining you but hesitation pulled his feet to the ground, keeping him in place. He wanted to talk to you and justify what he did even though he had no reason to. As he began to get lost in his thoughts again, a loud squawk of a voice rang out across the table.
“Ayeeeee! Captain!” Oh by the seas, it was Wooyoung. “Another round!”
Clearly, the chef had lost his manners in his drunkenness; his decency seemed to have also left the building given by the way he clung to San’s side and occasionally placed messy kisses and licks on his lover's neck. Hongjoong stood with a sigh, not even dignifying his friend with a response, and began weaving his way through the busy crowd.
Given his shorter stature, it was hard for him to make his way through the crowd and be taken seriously when he told people to move. Somehow, he ended up getting stuck behind a group of men, their bodies much broader and taller than his own.
“Move!” He barked out, gaining the attention of the group in front of him.
As they turned around, their looks of anger from the command fell into smirks.
“Now, now! What’s this?” The one that seemed to be the leader slurred. “What’s a pretty little thing like you doing in a place like this? Hm?” God his voice was grating. Maybe it's the fact that Hongjoong had longer hair than most or that the men were drunk but surely they didn’t think he was a woman?
As he was about to push past, the tallest one of the group grabbed at his arm “Let me g-“
“Hey, little lady we’re just tryna talk to ya’! No need to be a bitch!”
“Oh, I’ll show you a bitch-“ As Hongjoong went to throw out a punch, his wrist was caught by a male behind him. Fuck. He was trapped on all sides.
“Whas’ a pretty girl like you doin' wearing those dirty man clothes huh?” This one probed, his other hand coming to grab at Hongjoongs waist, “Bet you’d look even better without them. How’s ‘bout we all get out of here and we show you a good time?”
Before he could protest, Hongjoong felt himself be pulled out of the vice grip that held him and into another, this time the hands resting on his hips.
“My darling isn’t giving you gentlemen problems is she?” Came an all-too-familiar voice, hidden venom in each syllable. “Little pirate, we spoke about this.” You tutted, hand gripping harder at the other's hips to stop him from making any sudden moves.
“She’s yours?” One of the men questioned, “What a score! Fancy sharing? We’ll help you punish her for being such a harlot.”
“Gentlemen, is that any way to talk about a lady in front of her?” You rolled your eyes, “But I won’t be sharing. I don’t share what’s mine.”
“Whatever, didn’t want a whore like that anyways.” The leader scoffed, “Probably been run through like a prostitute-“
Hongjoong could feel himself turning red with anger. As he went to move, your grip on his hips became vice-like. “Make one fucking wrong move and I’ll make good of that threat I made darling.” You hissed in his ear, chest rumbling on his back.
Once the group had left, Hongjoong made quick work of spinning around and had to hold himself back from spitting at your face.
“What the fuck was that?!” He almost screamed.
“There was no way you would have gotten out of that situation in a better way had I not been there, Hongjoong.” You scowled, “You were trapped on all sides.”
“I fucking had it handled.”
“You were going to start a bar fight, like an idiot,” You snarled, “Maybe I should have let it happen. You probably would have liked being treated like a whore.” Hongjoong’s jaw dropped open, the feeling of twisting in his stomach that he had become all too familiar with returning at your words. With a lack of reaction from Hongjoong, you let out a sigh and began weaving your way back through the crowd. Hongjoong was quick to grab your wrist in the spur of the moment and almost blanched white as you turned to look at him, his hand and then back at his face with a smug look on your lips.
At that moment, Hongjoong found himself staring at your lips. They were just… there. He could feel himself flush a little as your tongue darted out to wet them; for all those mean words your tongue sprouted, the Captain found himself dreaming of other words- No- Sounds. Without another thought, Hongjoong found himself dragging you off to a darkened corner of the tavern. Busy enough to not be seen but not so busy everyone would pay attention to the two of you. He placed his back against the wall and pulled you towards him with a particularly harsh tug on your wrist. A shudder raked his body as memories flashed forwards, one of your hands on his hip and the other on the wall next to his head. Hongjoong grabbed at the lapels of your coat.
“I fucking hate you” He sneered.
“Doesn’t seem like it right now darling.“ you purred back, head dropping down to his level. “In fact, it feels like the exact opposite.”
If that was a comment about the obvious boner he had that pressed against your leg or on the tension, Hongjoong didn’t have time to question; with another harsh tug on your jacket, Hongjoong found his lips crashing together with yours. It was a messy kiss, a clash of teeth and dominance as Hongjoong attempted to overpower you. He let out a small gasp as he felt your hand that once held his hip now squeeze at his ass, your tongue now against his own as you took the opportunity to slip it in. Hongjoong couldn’t help the small whimper that left his mouth as you continued to squeeze, his hips jumping slightly as you moved him closer to press against you. A small thread of spit connected the two of you as Hongjoong stopped for a breath; the breath catching when your lips found themselves at the juncture of his neck and jaw, the little nibble you gave sending sparks through his body.
“You gonna be a good boy for me Hongjoong?” You mumbled out, breath fanning against his neck, “Gonna be a good boy and let me ruin you? Treat you like a whore?”
He could only nod, words evading him as your lips attached to his neck again. The trail of hickies that you had started to make marked the expanse of his throat, Hongjoong’s neck now a galaxy of purples and reds swirling together in sin. “P-Please…” He whimpered out, hands now holding your shoulders for dear life.
“Please what?” He could feel you grin against his neck.
“Please touch me.“ Hongjoongs voice came out as a whisper.
“You’ll have to try a lot harder to get me to do anything. You’re gonna have to beg.” Your voice came out now in a growl, “I’m still mad at you, you know? So you’re gonna work for it.”
Hongjoong could only shudder at your words,
“Nothing to say huh? Maybe you really are stupid?” You mocked, hand gripping at the base of his hair and pulling, making him look up at you. “You’re stupid enough to call me a coward but I’m going to have you so dumb you won't even remember your name by the time I’m done with you.”
Hongjoong couldn’t help but let out a pathetic moan, his head spinning as you grabbed his hand and pulled him off in the direction of the stairs; if your intentions weren’t clear in his foggy mind before, they were now. He had to stop himself from falling up the stairs as you dragged him, the weakness of his knees being no help in the situation.
It wasn’t long before he found himself in your tidy room, of course, it was tidy.
“What’s going on in that pretty little head, hm?” Hongjoong couldn’t help the shiver that racked his body, the feeling of your lips on the shell of his ear almost erotic.
“Your room is tidy…” Hongjoong replied, a haze still over his mind, “You’re always so clean and tidy.”
The chuckle you let out reverberated through the room.
“I think you’ll find, once I’m done with you, that I’m actually quite the opposite of clean and tidy.” Your words had the smaller captain letting out a drawn-out groan. The thought of being treated in such a disgusting way was becoming more and more enticing as the seconds passed. Not a second later, Hongjoong could feel your lips attach to his neck once more, your hands beginning to wander from his chest to his waist, to his hips and then to-
The once silent room filled with a strangled moan thanks to Hongjoong; he wasn’t expecting to be so blunt and grab at his crotch the way that you did. His hips bucked back out of shock, only to be met with the feeling of your own bulge grinding against his lower back. At least the situation was affecting you in the same ways it was affecting him. “For someone who acts like they hate me,” You murmured out, continuing to palm the other through his trousers, “You sure do show it in a funny way.”
“I- I do hate you.” Hongjoong panted out, “As I said, I fucking hate you.”
“And then you proceeded to kiss me, press your boner into my leg and ask me to touch you.” Came your reply, “Do you want me to hate you? Treat you like I hate you? Naughty boy, who would have thought that the captain would like it rough?”
Hongjoong let out a groan as his head dropped back onto your shoulder, gasping at the feeling of your hand suddenly gripping at his neck. “P-please-“
“Please what? Hm? What does the little slut want?” You grinned out.
“More-“ Hongjoong let out a wheeze as your hand gripped at his neck harder “-I need more!”
He took a deep breath as your hand left his throat, only to find himself being stripped of his coat and tunic; Hongjoong opting to kick off his boots in order to help out. As he kicked off his boots, Hongjoong could hear your own coat hit the floor followed by your tunic. With two of you in similar states of undress, Hongjoong couldn’t help but marvel at your physique. While you didn’t have a six-pack, you were incredibly lean. His eyes trailed up, taking in every nick and scar that littered your torso; one that stretched from your centre chest up and over your right shoulder catching his attention. It was clearly inflicted by a sword and badly given how gnarled the scar was. He didn’t have much more of a chance to take in the sight of you as you pulled him towards you and began an assault on his neck and now-bare shoulders. During the assault on his neck, Hongjoong found himself pressing against your thigh once more as the two of you had moved backwards, your body now leaning against the desk that pressed against the wall.
In a moment of bravery, once you had stopped to take a breath, Hongjoong let his lips attach to your neck. The sound of your soft sigh encouraged him to continue as he suckled harshly at a particular spot that had you moan; Hongjoong could feel the spit and dribble accumulating at the corners of his mouth and in a split-second decision, he detached before licking a stripe up the expanse of your neck, then quickly bit down where your neck and shoulder met. Seconds later, he found himself crumpled to the floor holding his cheek. Did you slap him? You slapped him. He didn’t have a moment to retort or fight back, as in the next second he found himself being pulled up to his knees by his hair, your grip getting harsher as you forced his head back to look at your still standing figure.
“Now just who do you think you are?” You questioned, your face blank but words filled with venom, “It’s almost like you want me to hurt you. Is that what you want? To be treated like a little bitch? Is that why you let those men from earlier say what they said?”
As you leant down closer to the others face, you recoiled. Hongjoong spat at you.
“You’re really pushing it, Hongjoong. Acting like a fucking brat.” You growled lowly while wiping away the spit that landed on your cheek, “Fine.” Your foot met with Hongjoong’s chest, kicking him down onto his back. Hongjoong let out a groan, his chest shaking with a choked breath as your foot trailed down his chest; he let out a moan that filled to the corners of the room as your boot pressed against his crotch with an intense amount of pressure. His hips jumped up in an attempt to get more friction, whining as your foot let up and pressed back down.
“You’re so dirty, Hongjoong, humping against my foot like a bitch in heat.” You teased, foot pressing with even more pressure as you leaned over him, “Maybe you really are a dumb whore. Do you think it was smart to bite me? Or maybe you just decided to be a brat in order to be treated like one.”
Hongjoong let out another loud whine, his hands grasping at the floorboards as he didn’t know what to do with them. He attempted to formulate a response but all that left his mouth was incoherent babbles.
“You’re so cute, humping against my foot like this. And you can’t even form a sentence? You really are my dumb little whore.” Hongjoong let out a pitching whine that had you rolling your eyes. “By the seas, you’re so noisy. Maybe you need something in your mouth to shut you up, hm? What do you think, baby? I think you’d look amazing with your mouth stuffed.”
As you stepped back, Hongjoong clambered up from his position, his eagerness amusing you and surprising himself. He watched as you leaned back on the desk once more, shuffling forwards on his knees and placing himself at your feet. Watching you untie the sash that held your trousers up was a sight that he wished he could watch again and again but he had no time to even think about replaying the memory as you pulled out your cock from its confines. Hongjoong could swear he was drooling out the corner of his mouth, tongue licking at his lips in anticipation. He shuffled forwards a little more, falling forwards and placing his hands on your thighs as you tugged at his hair once more.
Now with his face pressed against the rough fabric of your trousers, the length next to him became daunting; he wondered if it would fit inside him at all. His breaths came out shallow pants as he watched you stroke yourself once, twice and then once more for good measure, precum dripping off your fingers. Oh, how he wanted to taste you. Much to his luck, the tapping of your fingers on his lips told him that he would get the chance. Hongjoong opened his mouth and let his tongue loll out, your fingers smearing what they held against the wet muscle.
“Swallow it.” You commanded.
Hongjoong obeyed.
Even though it was a minuscule amount of precum, he savoured the taste with a low hum of approval. He let his mouth open once more to show that he had swallowed and preened when he saw you nod your head in approval.
“Such a good boy for me” you cooed, “I think you deserve a treat.”
While your tone was softer than before, your actions were not. The hand that he had missed petting at his hair came to grip at his roots, your hand moving his head from where it rested to your cock. You tapped the tip off of his tongue a few times and gave a few experimental thrusts before lowering the other’s head down slowly, admiring as his jaw dropped more to allow more room.
“Well? What are you waiting for?” Your eyes met with his glassy ones, “Get to work, slut.”
Hongjoong didn’t need any more telling. His hands gripped harder at your thighs as he began to bob his head slowly, savouring the feeling of veins on his tongue. When he came back off, he would give a few kitten licks to your tip and then take as much as he could back into his mouth. He loved how full his mouth felt, it was addicting, his own personal aphrodisiac. Hongjoong began to pick up pace and revelled in the sounds of your soft groans; this only spurred him on, choosing to pick up the pace once more and try to fit even more of you into his mouth. He glanced up at you and let a moan out at the sight of you, your head tilted back in pleasure and a light sheen of sweat covering your torso. The vibrations of Hongjoong’s moan had you moaning, even more, a sudden thrust making the other gag and cough, coming off to try and catch his breath.
You looked down at him, being met with the sight of Hongjoong flushed red and puffy-faced had your stomach curling but what made it really twist was the pooling of spit that dripped down from the corners of his mouth. You let out a low groan and thumbed at one corner of his mouth, bringing your now spit-covered thumb up to your mouth and licking it off in a dirty display.
“I’m gonna fuck your mouth now.” It was more of a statement than a question, no room for negotiations as both of your hands came to grip at Hongjoong’s long locks once more. With the grip you had on his hair, Hongjoong could barely nod as he let his lips part once again.
Hongjoong wasn’t expecting you to bottom out into his throat in one go. It caught him by surprise. But he couldn’t help the way it made his hips jump and his eyes roll back, tears that had been threatening to fall once now streaming down his cheeks. All he could do was moan around your length as you used him as a toy. His nose constantly brushed against your pubic hair but he didn’t care; how could he? Your grunts and growls that you let out were like a song to him, spurring him on to do better and take it all. Just for you.
“God you’re so- Fuck-“ You grunted out, your hips bucking as you bottomed out once more. The feeling of his throat swallowing around you easily pulled you closer to the edge, “You’re so ruined for me. All I’m doing is fucking your mouth and you’re already crying. Should have done this sooner- Shit!” Hongjoong let out a noise of surprise as you pulled him as far down as you could, your cum spilling down his throat and pooling up in his mouth. He pulled himself off of your length and attempted to swallow what he could but the overwhelming need to cough had a lot of it spilling out of his mouth and onto the floor, some even finding itself coming out of his nose. Once he had caught his breath, Hongjoong looked up at you and pouted at the displeased look on your face.
“Don’t look at me like that. You could have easily swallowed but didn’t. Now there’s cum all over the floor.” You mockingly pouted back, coming to crouch down at his level. “But that’s okay, I like it dirty and you’ll be a lot worse off than this floor once I’m done with you.” Hongjoong attempted to stammer out a reply only to let out another pathetic whine as he felt your tongue lick up some of the cum that dripped down from the corner of his mouth.
The world was spinning in Hongjoong’s vision, his head dizzy from the heat and intensity of what had just happened to him; this only increased tenfold as you suddenly picked him up and, after a short journey across the room, threw him down onto the bed. You stepped back to drink in the sight of the smaller captain on your bed, looking oh-so-ruined by a simple facefucking. Hongjoong looked away and tried to cover his face as he felt your predatory eyes scrape across his body, a rather girly squeal leaving him as your hands yanked the trousers he was wearing off of his body. Before he could even attempt to cover himself up, your hands grabbed at his wrists and pinned them down above his head. He made further attempts to cover his exposed lower half with his legs but couldn’t do anything as he felt the rough fabric of your trousers scratching at his skin as you used your own legs to keep his in place, boots having been kicked off somewhere in the process of you climbing on to the bed to pin him down.
“I can’t wait to absolutely demolish you, Joongie” You purred out, switching the two-handed grip you had on his wrists to just one in order to let the other wander over the expanse of his torso. “Should I prep you? You’ve been such a bad boy this past week so I don’t think I should.”
Your words had Hongjoong writhing in your grip, the attempt at escaping almost admirable. “W-Wait no! Please, I'll be a good boy!” He panicked, the thought of taking you and not being prepped sounding more painful than pleasurable, “M’ be a good boy, please! Could take you so much better with prep…” His words sounded slurred and the look behind his eyes could be described as foggy at best.
“If I prep you, you better not touch yourself,” You responded with a sly grin on your face at the idea that had just formulated, “Actually, I have a better idea.”
Hongjoong watched as you reached back for the sash that stuck out of your pocket. As you brought it upwards towards his wrists, he attempted to squirm away out of your hold only to stop and whine as you quickly slapped his thigh. The idea of not being able to use his hands was torturous to his mind, he wanted to be able to grab at your hair and feel his nails scrape down your back. He could only watch as you tied the red fabric around his wrists, the feel of it a lot nicer than the fabric of your trousers that continued to press into his legs.
With a final tug at the knot you had tied around his wrists, you knelt back to admire your handy work with a more than pleased look in your eyes. You stepped back off of the bed, offering Hongjoong some relief from the pressure that was once against his legs. He watched as you shucked off your trousers, then as you crawled back onto the bed.
“You’re doing so well for me, darling.” You murmured out in a moment of softness, your hands caressing at the other's hips. Hongjoong could only watch with wide eyes as the momentary softness in your eyes disappeared and your hands gripped harshly, his body suddenly being flipped and his head pressing down into the pillow that was below him. He could feel your hands graze up his sides and then back down, a harsh spank coming to his ass that has him moaning louder than he ever had before.
You shuffled down the bed a bit, the small frame not allowing for much movement. Your hands cupped at his ass, gripping as they parted his cheeks to let a glob of spit land on the smaller man’s hole. The sensation had Hongjoong writhing, the feeling of his cock rubbing against the bedsheets below him causing him to moan out and rut his hips forwards to get more of the sensation. This was met with another spank only making him moan out even more.
“At this rate, everyone in the tavern will hear you sweetheart.”
Hongjoong didn’t care, all he could focus on was the feeling of your finger pressing against his entrance, “I’m sure you’d like that though. Everyone being able to hear you whoring yourself out for me.”
He couldn’t even formulate a response past a whine as he felt your finger press into him. “You’re so tight Joongie. I don’t think you’ll be able to take me at this rate.”
“M’, can take you!” He whined back, the world blurring together at the feeling of your finger working in and out of him, “‘nother. More! Can take more.”
“If you say so.” You purred in response, letting another of your fingers enter him. You let out a low chuckle at the whine the other let out as you worked him open; the constant back and forth of your fingers and scissoring of them to work him open made him pant and rut into the bed. This went on for a few minutes, these minutes making Hongjoong restless. He wanted, no, needed you inside him soon or he’d definitely cum untouched and onto your bedsheets.
“Cock…” He slurred out, craning his head in an attempt to meet your eyes, “Want your cock, please.”
“Such a well-mannered boy,” You cooed, a whine drawing from below as you removed your fingers, “Shame you’ll forget all of them once you're dumb from my cock, isn't it?” You watched as he shoved his hips up in an attempt to display himself better to you as if attempting to entice you to go faster and get inside of him quicker. You knelt back once more, pulling Hongjoong up with you only to push him onto all fours and then press at the top of his back. Without much warning, you slid your cock between his asscheeks a few times before pressing forwards and bottoming out in one go, a sick grin on your face at the strangled moan that the male below you let out. You watched as he squirmed and tried to get away, only to be pulled back by his hips to keep him where he was.
“You said you could take it, so take it.” You commanded.
Hongjoong grasped at the pillow below him the best he could with bound wrists, feeling tears drip down his cheeks and stain the pillow below him. He knew he could take it, he didn’t want you to stop; but the burn was so much, having only spit as a form of lubrication wasn’t enough but it would have to do in the situation. Once he felt that he had adjusted enough, Hongjoong tried to move his hips to get some sort of stimulation but couldn’t help the whine that left him as it proved not enough. His silent prayers seemed to be answered when he felt you grip at his hips, draw out and then slam back in. A choked moan left him at the sudden movement, but it didn’t stop there. Your pace was brutal from the beginning, not taking one moment to slow down as you panted above him. Your administrations were brutal but not unwelcome, the harsh speed and rough thrusts you provided bringing Hongjoong dangerously close to the edge. He tried to look back at your figure once again but you appeared blurred thanks to the jostling your thrusts supplied; when he finally did catch a glimpse of you he could only moan even more than he had been already. Sweat trailed down your torso and the snarl that sat on your lips made his hole twitch.
Feeling the clench he gave, you looked over at Hongjoong. He looked so destroyed at that moment, tears streaming down his face and saliva pooling on the pillow below him. You admired the way his body shone from sweat and shook from stimulation, his bare back looking all too bare. As you leaned over him and caged him in, you pressed into him at a different angle and watched as his eyes rolled back in silent prayer. You lowered your head and placed subtle kisses across his shoulders, only to quickly replace them with harsh bites, making Hongjoong shake.
“‘M gonna cum if you do that!” He whined in complaint.
“Then cum. Cum all over these sheets and make them dirty just like you.” You mocked back, “I want to watch you unravel just for me.”
Hongjoong let out a pitching whine as your hips worked even quicker, the jostling making his cock rub against the sheets even more. When you placed a bite on his shoulder, he found himself spilling all over the sheets. His head went blank as his vision filled with white and his ears went static. While he wasn’t present in the moment, he could feel you pick up pace as he rode his high; the fluttering of his walls pulling you in and closer to your own high. Suddenly, it was warm. You had come inside of him but didn’t show any signs of stopping or slowing down. Hongjoong could feel himself quickly reaching his high once again, the overstimulation becoming too much for him.
“‘M gonna cum again!” He babbled out, hands straining against the ties that held strong.
“Then cum again. And again and again.” You growled out into his ear, “You won't be able to even walk when I’m done with you so cum again or don’t cum at all.”
The next morning, Hongjoong woke up to an empty bed and a note on the bedside table. He winced as he sat up, the light of the morning illuminating the room and his marked-up body. He picked up the note and gave it a quick once-over knowing he would have to vacate the room soon in order to go back to the 0325.
“Captain Hongjoong,
You may notice that you have woken up alone but do not be alarmed. I had to head down to the carpenter’s in the early hours of the morning to help them get the materials you needed onto my ship. The inn owners have informed me that we need to vacate our rooms by eleven o’clock and I have asked everyone to be back aboard the ship by noon so that anyone may grab things that they want or need before heading back to the Aurora. You will find your clothes on the desk (I took the liberty of folding them and your boots are off to the side of the desk). I will be at the carpenter's till around half past eleven so you are welcome to join me should you wish to. If not, I will see you back aboard the ship.
Yours,
Captain Y/n”
Hongjoong was surprised to find that there were no mentions of the night's activities in your note but he can’t say he was disappointed. As memories of the night flashed in his mind, he didn’t know how to feel. His original intentions had been to give you a stern telling off but somehow he ended up getting fucked by you and rather roughly at that; he glanced down at the blossoming purples and blues that littered his chest and stomach and could feel a pink glow take to his face. The ones on his neck he knew he wouldn’t be able to hide at all which left him with no choice but to face his crew with a small sliver of dignity that remained in his body.
Eventually, he hauled himself out of bed and got dressed. He pulled his hat over mussed hair and grabbed the handle to the door; as he stepped out he came face-to- face with Seonghwa. The two made eye contact, glanced down at each other- taking in the state of the other's neck- and gave a small nod of agreement to one another “Not a word-“ Hongjoong began before the other cut him off.
“Not a word of this to anyone, Captain.” The quartermaster mused, “I agree.”
Neither said any more words as Seonghwa passed his captain his cane that he left in the tavern the night before and the two headed down the stairs and out into the streets.
“This is going to be a long journey back.” Hongjoong sighed.
Seonghwa couldn’t help but let out a loud laugh. “Just wait till San and Wooyoung see the state of you. They’re going to have a field day.”
“By the seas… Someone kill me now.”

The half of me Chapter 15
Tumblr media
Chapter 14 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I decide to go back to the store and continue cleaning. I know it's forcing my hand, but I can't be at home knowing that the window will come on Monday, I need the place to at least look decent. I put on my headphones and while I clean I start to sing. It's the favorite playlist that Daliah and I had.
From time to time I have to put the broom down because my hand still hurts, but I don't decide to stop. I have to be responsible and fix everything I did. When I turn around, I freak out when I see Mason. I put a hand to my chest thinking that my heart was going to come out. He claps and I blush embarrassed that he heard me. I take off my headphones and look at him confused.    "You sing well." he tells me, approaching me "Have you thought about doing musicals?"    "What are you doing here?" I ask, gripping the broomstick tightly. I don't trust anyone anymore except Jake and my friends from Duskwood.    "I've been trying to get through to Seo-ah all day, but she's not answering" he says, shrugging ", and I've been wondering if…"    "If I know something because we are both two shy girls that we would be able to talk to each other." I answered with some annoyance.     I see him wince and he sits on the arm of the sofa. He keeps his eyes on the ground and I can see sadness. Seo-ah said that she was from Evergreed, so being in that town, she might have had trouble contacting us for some reason. Although I don't think it's because something happened to her, I'm sure we would have found out by now.    "It's not-" he sighs and nods ". Okay, maybe so, but knowing that there is a murderer around Rosenschwarz, it terrifies me that something could happen to her."     I move a little closer until I reach the sofa, sitting away from him, in case he might attack me. Maybe he's putting on a role, like Richy.    "Do you care about Seo-ah that much?" I ask, looking at him doubtfully.    "It's…" I see a small smile escape him "Perhaps the first person that worries me in my whole life other than me" he looks at me and I smile when I hear him ". I don't know if you understand."    "The feeling of having to lose that person in any dangerous situation?" I ask rhetorically "Or that because of you they can take him away from you?"    "Okay, I guess it's not about me or Seo-ah anymore" he laughs and I want to hide my face with my hair, but unfortunately, I had it up in a ponytail ". I also want to ask you if you suspect that Carter might be Daliah's killer."     I frown, a little confused. His words surprise me a bit, because to say that means that there is some doubt behind it. But then again, Mason and Carter don't get along.    "And why do you say that?" I ask slowly, wanting to know more.    "From what he said in the chat, don't you find it strange?" He looks at me confused "First he defends you and then he accuses you of being guilty. Why would he do that?"    "To get me to stop accusing Jane."    "And if it was both?" He gets closer to me, whispering "Maybe he did Jane a favor and to please her girlfriend, he agreed to kill her."     Right, he doesn't know that Jane is out as the murdered because I talked to her. I think he's even a worse detective than me.    "I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I spoke to Jane and we've already fixed it" I replied with a grimace ", I've added her to the group again."    "Oh..." He gets up and I see him uncomfortable. He scratches his neck nervously "Well, then, discarded theory, right?" He approaches the door, waving his hand as a farewell "It was good to talk to you in person MC. You'll tell us the next clue."    "Sure, bye, Mason."     He waves goodbye and leaves.
The conversation makes me feel uncomfortable. I don't know if he was really accusing them or perhaps he wanted to divert suspicion from him. I don't have it yet.
I'm still waiting for Jake to get me the next clue from the journal. But he worries me more that he hasn't told me yet about Jane's conversation. Will he be okay? Or perhaps Nymos's chat has failed and he has been detected?
Nervous, I go straight to the chat to see if he answers me. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MC Jake? Please, Jake, tell me that everything is alright…. I'm a little worried…. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I put the phone away leaving the volume on high, waiting for his message.
I finish cleaning and throw myself on the sofa exhausted. I have managed to put all the destruction in the bags and make a little line. As soon as I hear the mobile notification, it doesn't take me long to answer the Nymos chat. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----Nym-0s has been connected----
Nym-0s Hello MC. Excuse me for the delay.
MC Jake! Are you OK?! Has something happened to you?! 😢
Nym-0s I am perfectly fine, do not worry :) Did I worry you too much?
MC You always reply quickly to messages, so yeah 😞
Nym-0s Do not worry, you will know when something has happened to me.
MC That's not very nice...
Nym-0s I am sorry. Well, I just read the whole chat with you and Jane.
MC I really don't know what to think of her words about Daliah I know that she is not the murderer, but for her to say that she was a horrible person…
Nym-0s I am sorry that it affected you. Knowing they had a rivalry, her opinion of her is different from the rest.
MC I guess…
Nym-0s What happen?
MC It's just…. After learning that she used my name in that place What other things has she done that I don't know about?
Nym-0s At least what we really know is that he never involved you in her affairs. She always kept you away to protect you.
MC Yes I hope so By the way, something strange happened with Mason.
Nym-0s What happened?
MC We've talked
Nym-0s How strange, I have not received any chat.
MC Because he has come expressly to talk to me at the store ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jake remains silent. He does not write or send any messages.
I frowned, confused. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MC Uh… Jake? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A second later, I receive his call. I sigh with relief, I thought that he was angry about Mason.
I end up accepting the call, anyway, without understanding why he had not continued writing.    "Sorry" he says nervously ", I wanted to continue talking on the call, I wanted to hear your voice."     I let out a small laugh. I wanted to hear his voice too, but I'm embarrassed to admit it.    “It’s okay” I say, bringing my legs up and hugging them to my chest “I…I wanted to do it too.” I admit with a small smile.   I hear him laugh and I get nervous. I remember when I heard him laugh when I was in his room. I liked listening to him so much...    “Well” he says, slowly ceasing to laugh “, I am glad we agree."     I put my phone away for a moment, breathing deeply. His voice had sounded deep and calm as he had put that laugh away.   "Tell me" now more serious, he begins to focus "What did he tell you?"    “Let's just say he said if I can suspect that Carter is Daliah's killer” I says slowly, trying to focus on remembering the conversation with Mason. I'm distracted ", by how he's been behaving in the group chat."    "Yes, I understand why he can think like that" I hear him make a sound, as if he were thinking ", you went after his girlfriend, he messed with you and now they can think if it was him."    "Though…"    "Yes?"     I breathe in calming down. I remember how Mason is gone.    “He was disappointed when I told him that I don't suspect Jane or that she and Carter worked together to kill Daliah.    “As I have been reading, Carter and Mason are just like Jane and Daliah” I hear him write. It may sound crazy, but it's the most beautiful type I've ever heard ", it is normal to want your rival to be involved in something mess up."    "But wish he was involved in murder?"    "Maybe it is that he could benefit if he was" I nod at his words ". But Mason first accused Jane when she talked to Seo-ah, and now he wants to accuse Carter. I think he must know something more than we think or..."    "Diverting my eyes from him so that I suspect other people…"    "By the way, there is something I have to tell you about Mike" I listen to him carefully, sitting better on the sofa ", I was talking to him and he changed his mind."    "Aren't he going to make the program for us?"    "No, it is not that" he says with a laugh ". I have managed to get him to do it for us without us having to pay him."    "That's great!" I exclaim with a smile "How did you do it?"    "I am pretty persuasive when negotiating" I let out a laugh as I heard him speak proudly ". He will actually do it to help us since it is a murder case, he does not want you to feel bad about having to pay him."    "Really?" I hear him make a sound as if he were nodding "Well, he didn't seem too honest the other night."    "Last night the situation was different, he was quite confused." I notice something strange in his voice, it seems... different now. Like cold ", he feels bad because Daliah lied to him and as an apology and to help us, he goes to work for free."     I bite the inside of my cheek, confused by his words. I feel that something is wrong.
I start to get nervous. I think he's done something, but I'm afraid to ask him. It's not that I don't trust him, it's just that I made him promise never to lie to me again after I talked to Thomas when he tried to break into Hannah's cell. I don't want him to break that promise...    "Jake?"    "What is going on, MC?" I can tell by his tone that he's too calm.    "Tell me you haven't done something foolish..."     I don't hear anything, neither his breathing nor that he makes any sound, it's as if he had moved away from the phone or... I look to see if he has hung up, but no. He stay on call    "Jake, answer me, I beg you." My voice trembles, thinking that it could be something dangerous.    “Alright” He finally speaks and I hear him take a breath ". I may have threatened him a bit."     I pinch the bridge of my nose, remembering how he could have choked him to death last night. I try to calm down, but I can't. It scares me to think... That maybe I'm seeing a different Jake than he was showing me.    "Please don't keep getting yourself into trouble..." I plead, hugging myself "Remember how Evergreed is, if you mess with the wrong person, they could kill you."    "It is the last thing I will ever do, I promise."    “Okay."    "Especially because I have yet to see you again."     I bite my lip to control a nervous laugh. I remember the kiss from this morning again and the tingle returns. It was so much better than Elliot's kiss, with Jake's kiss, I felt a lot of things I hadn't felt before. They were new sensations and I wanted to feel them with him again. I caress my lip, noticing his phantom kiss.    "It's strange" I begin to say in a low voice ", we said goodbye this morning and I feel as if it had been many years" I get up and start pacing the place, remembering every moment we've had since last night ". I think it's the last time I'm not going to see you again."    "I wish I could go" he sighs and I hear the springs of the bed, is he adjusting himself perhaps? ". But with so much vigilance, it would be dangerous for me."    "And I wouldn't let you come here either" I lean on the doorway, looking at the ground "who knows if someone from the FBI could have been watching the town for a year waiting for you to come for me."    "To be honest, even though I am in Evergreed, I am still insecure" Hearing his words makes me worry about him. I don't think he ever feels safe anywhere, as easy as it is to be in a place where the law is largely ignored ". I feel like everyone is looking at me."    "I wish there was something I could do to ease your concern…"    "Do not worry, talking to you relieves me more than you can imagine."     I chuckled, going back inside the store.
I hear a background sound, it seemed like the computer. I hear Jake make a sound of surprise and wait for the news from him.    “I have managed to decrypt one more file” he says quickly, as he types “, but this time it is not a diary entry, it is an image capture."    "About what?"    "It is a chat, now I will pass it to you."     I nod and wait for him to pass it to me. I get a notification sound and start reading the chat.
A chat between Daliah and Mason. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mason Hey Daliah Wouldn't you happen to be hanging around Professor Lange's office the day before yesterday?
Daliah Why do you ask?
Mason I For nothing It doesn't matter
Daliah Is everything okay?
Mason Yes, I just thought I saw you around
Daliah No But what if it were yes? 😚
Mason I wanted to ask if you've seen anything
Daliah Something? Mason, is there something I should know about?
Mason No, everything's fine I was just curious if you'd been around, nothing more
Daliah By the way, Carter has been quite angry today. He has said that Professor Lange has been disappointed with his short film Because according to Carter, he seemed to be incomplete 🤔
Mason Oh What a pity
Daliah Yeah I mean… It's not as if someone had taken the flash drive and modified the video, right?
Mason No idea Maybe he just doesn't want to look bad with the teacher having a lousy short film 🙄
Daliah Maybe, maybe Although it would be VERY disappointing to know that someone stole the flash drive to modify the short, right?
Mason Well, whoever did it, I guess he'll get punished.
Daliah Mason, Mason, Maaason… Are you seriously going to keep hiding it?
Mason Hiding what?
Daliah Come on… 🥺 Who could benefit from this more than you? They could kick you out if they find out, you know that right?
Mason What are you insinuating?
Daliah That you lie very badly 🤭 I already know that you have But I wanted to play dumb a little
Mason Oh… So how come you haven't said anything yet?
Daliah Because I think I can do something good with this 😏
Mason …. I have nothing to offer you
Daliah Tell me, your mother doesn't work in an acting agency?
Mason …. Yeah
Daliah It means that you are very influenced by the world of cinema, right?
Mason You want me to talk about you, don't you?
Daliah Showbiz doesn't want such cheating people Mason And you've always been number one in the academy How do you think everyone will take it when they find out what you are because maybe you have been cheating all this time? And also when there are only a few months left for them to recommend us to big film production companies if our work has been a success among the festival to show our abilities What will happen to you if they find out that you are nothing more than a liar?
Mason Ok I will talk to my mother and I will recommend you
Daliah Another thing I want that when it is your turn to direct the class projects, I want you to always choose me as the protagonist
Mason But Daliah, that's against the rules!
Daliah But, but, buuuut… Mason… Honey…. I took the picture And not just one I know you've done it more times With more people How do you think Grace will act knowing that she was the first one whose video you ruined? Or better What about poor Seo-ah? When she know you're screwing everyone who turns in their papers? She will be very disappointed Like your mother You don't want to work with someone who ruins colleagues
Mason I didn't know you had this cruel mind, Daliah
Daliah Well I have my moments And since I'm not the one who has ruined other people's projects, technically I'm not doing anything wrong by being the lead in your shorts You are a good director, Mason And I'm a good actress We can both benefit from all this
Mason But will you delete the photos if I accept?
Daliah Of course! Even the videos
Mason Are there videos too?
Daliah I'm prepared for everything
Mason I guess I'll have to accept then...
Daliah You'll see Mason It’ll be worth it
Mason This is also to ruin Jane when we do projects together right?
Daliah I want to get the attention of any director or agency at all costs And Jane gets in the way of my dream I know that for many it may seem ridiculous, but for me it is important I need her out of everyone's sight
Mason Wow… Well, Jane is Carter's girlfriend And if I can continue to ruin Carter in a roundabout way with that, fine Just please don't show anything I promise to help you in everything you need
Daliah Thanks Mason! You are a great friend!
Mason And... Where do you have all those photos and videos?
Daliah On my phone Where do you want me to have it? 🤭 They are just one 'enter' away from being sent all So if at any time you fail me...
Mason Ruined reputation I know
Daliah Great, you got it Ok see you in class
Mason I'll see you in class ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am surprised to read that Daliah was so obsessed with getting any role at all costs. So, she blackmailed Mason with his reputation. According to Carter, Mason has a lot of ego. If anyone knew that he was ruining fellow projects, surely that ego of attention would be destroyed by being branded as a cheater. But that's not all, according to Daliah, she had all the photos and videos on her phone. And the phone has not appeared.    "Is it known when the capture is from?" I ask Jake, prepared to talk about the conversation.    "According to the properties of the photo, it is from less than a year ago."    "So, Daliah has been accumulating evidence against Mason for when the final projects come in-"    "And blackmail Mason so that he could get kicked out of the academy and ruin his reputation if he didn't agree to her terms" I hear him typing quickly before continuing ". I remember you said that Daliah's cell phone had not turned up."    "Okay, I know it's a little hard to think about" I start to say, sitting back on the couch ". But kill her to get her phone?"    "They have killed each other for smaller things" I nod and continue listening to him ". Mason cares a lot about his image, even what his mother might think about it, no wonder he feared for his reputation."    "Do you think he thinks I knew?" I hug myself, fearful "Since Daliah and I told each other everything, maybe she suspected something…"    "The important thing is that he has not attacked you" Jake sounds a bit tense ", but you are in a public place, it is not convenient for him to attack you, especially with the police watching."     Still, I need to know something else, why wait so long to kill her?    "It wasn't him" I finally answered ". I feel like Mason isn't the culprit."    "Anything that makes you think about why is not him?"    "The time" I answered, remembering what Jake had said ". You said it's less than a year ago, he could have killed her sooner."    "Then why would your sister save this conversation?"     I swallow nervously. It was obvious why she had done it. She also became suspicious of him when she began receiving news clippings from her, thinking that perhaps after that year of blackmailing him, she was returning it to scare her.    "She suspected him because of everything that was happening to her as well" I commented with fear ". I wouldn't be surprised if Mason got fed up and wanted that evidence as soon as possible if he cared so much about his image."    "Psychological torture is a good method" Jake's words worry me ". Since we do not quite know the order of all the evidence, we do not know if her suspicions with Mason were before or after what happened with Jane."    "It's incredible" I let out a soft laugh, shaking my head while still unable to believe what he had read ". Reading Daliah in this way… I didn't expect it…"     I run a hand across my forehead, massaging myself. It was horrible to think... To think that my sister had this character. That she was capable of doing these things.
I remain silent, thinking of my sister. Perhaps Jane was right? Was Daliah really the horrible person she said she was? I want to reject the thought. Daliah never blackmailed or manipulated me. No. These matters were personal, I will not think that she was capable of doing something to me as well.    "Can you imagine?" The imaginary Daliah appears next to me "That all this time I have been manipulating you at will?” she asks me with a charming smile.    "No, of course not."    "MC, who are you talking to?" I hear Jake ask me and I remember I was on the phone with him.    "With…" I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I can't tell him either that I'm talking with a mental image of my sister. It would worry him much more than anyone else "I was thinking out loud."    "I think you need to rest" His soft voice calms me down a bit ". Let us leave it for tomorrow, you have already done enough research."    "I can't tomorrow" I answer with a sigh ". I've decided to go see my parents."    "It is right, enjoy the day with them" I smiled when he heard his words ". They still need their daughter's support."     I chuckle, nodding.    "Thanks Jake" I smiled, with a slight blush ". It’s being very hard..."    "I can imagine... I want to clarify this whole matter for them too, so they can feel relieved to find her killer."    "Thank you for your words, they encourage me a lot." I start to pull the laces of my sneakers, a little nervous ". I wish you could say it to their face, they would be happy about everything you do for us."    "In the future, surely they will be able to thank me."     I get a message and laugh when I see it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nym-0s ;) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"It is the only way to wink." he says with a laugh.     I sigh still laughing. It was truly adorable that he still kept making me smile in order to calm me down.
I get a notification from the group. Grace had sent a message. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Grace I got an idea 😊 Since we're a little stressed, I thought that tomorrow we can go to Colville, so that MC can go out with us and see that we're not so… How to say it?
----Ralph has connected----
Ralph Extremely insane and explosive?

---- Grace has disconnected---- ---- Ralph has disconnected ----
Carter See you again
----Carter has disconnected----
Jane Bye mc
----Jane has disconnected----
Mason Bye, bye MC 😁
----Mason has disconnected---- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“They seem to be calmer.” Jake says after reading the chat.    "Yeah, but…" I bite the inside of my cheek, worried "What about Seo-ah? It's strange that she hasn't said anything yet…"    “You say that because she is from Evergreed, right?"    "I just hope that Daliah's killer didn't take her for some reason…"    "Do not worry, I am sure not." he tells me more calmly.    "I hope so" I sigh, looking at the garbage bags ". Well Jake, I have to hang up, I was serious that I have to finish throwing out the trash bags."     He chuckles and I blush hearing him. It's a magnificent laugh.    "Then I won't keep you anymore, love." His voice sounds sweet and I am completely mesmerized by how he has penetrated my ear.     Sounds escape me of getting nervous hearing him call me that. It's like a stupid laugh mixed with nonsense words. Jake laughs again, knowing what he can do to me.    "Ta-talk soon." I say nervously.     When I hang up, I feel a little bit stupid
I wonder if I'll get used to this sensation, to how he makes me feel.
My heart beats very fast.    "Love… "I whisper, taking the phone to my chest "I like the way it sounded…"
*Jake POV*
I lean back on the bed, my cheeks burning. It is the longest conversation we have had today on the phone and even so, I have not had my fill of that need.
I close my eyes, trying to calm down, even though I still remember the warmth of his body against mine.    “Well Jake,” I say to myself, sitting up “we better think about what we found out today."    I try to focus on something else before I let myself go. It is not the time and I just spoke with MC a moment ago. I would not be able to talk to her if...
I shake my head free of these thoughts and focus on reading Daliah and Mason's chat. It does not seem like a conversation where we should be concerned because Mason seems pretty calm. But if that phone has disappeared...    "We cannot let our guard down that he was acting normal, either" I commented, reading the part where Mason asks that he delete the photos and videos. He agreed to help her, but she kept this screenshot, implying that she never got around to removing any of the evidence. And Mason must have found out.     Daliah… I just hope you did not cause MC any trouble with everything you were doing, I am not getting a good image of you with everything I am finding out, but I cannot tell MC.
I hear the sound of message notification. But it is not that of Nymos. Surprised, I look at my phone and get terrified when reading the messages. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----Mike has connected----
Mike Hey Jakie You should protect your phone better. Lest a hacker with a phone detecting program, he wouldn't recognize the unidentified phone number of everyone he knew from before that was in the bar 😉 I would like to be able to get in touch with MC ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I clench my jaw at the two things that upset me: That he got my number and that he wants to talk to MC.
I refuse to let him talk to her. I am not going to let him talk to her again. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
??? Forget it. I will not give you her number.
Mike Do you think I want something with her? She's not my type ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I pinch the bridge of my nose, trying to relax. Well, it did not seem like it when I saw him on top of her. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
??? No.
Mike So let her be with you When you can come to Evergreed It is important, it is about Daliah
??? You can tell me.
Mike I'm sorry, but it's enough that I'm making you the program for free And I think it's something that will interest her ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I stare at the screen. Thinking if it is a good idea. I do not trust him.
I decide then to have his cell phone hacked, to protect myself. If he has gained access to my cell phone, I must be on the alert that he does not say anything about me. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
??? And just now you remembered and not yesterday right?
Mike Well, not that I saw it as important. But maybe it can be ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I try to calm down. It is incredible that he was agreed at just this precise moment. I must not give my arm to twist. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
??? I am sorry, but even if she wanted to, she cannot. The police protect her, she would have a hard time coming to Evergreed.
Mike How come? Why protect her?
??? The killer is after her too.
Mike Shit, what the fuck... Well, I can't go to Rosenschwarz either, the police have a bit of a file on me
??? What a surprise.
Mike A small fight, nothing more A brat didn't tell me that what I was hacking his girlfriend's cell phone And as you can see, I don't get involved in those issues I stopped doing work as soon as the police confiscated my computer Luckily, on that computer I did not have the important programs
??? Always go prepared.
Mike Exactly 😉 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I keep wondering if it is a good idea or not to agree to meet him again.
But, if it is something important about Daliah, MC will want to know what he has to tell, doing everything she can to come back. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
??? I will let her know. But I cannot promise that she will come. As I said, she is being protected.
Mike Okay Then let me know
??? Good.
Mike See you soon Jakie
----Mike has disconnected---- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I smile when I have access to his cell phone. Meanwhile, I protect myself with Nymos. It seems he has not talked about me.
I see him start typing in a chat, and when I see the name, I am shocked. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike Hey Seo-ah I've already done my part I hope you're happy Now it's your turn You promised me ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Your part?" I look doubtfully at the messages.     Seo-ah has been missing all day, could she have anything to do with Daliah's murder?

Why you should watch Law School?
Last year or about, I found myself searching for a new drama to watch. As I was scrolling on Netflix, I happened to look at a drama called Law School. Nothing in particular predisposed me to watch it: I am not particularly fond of the judiciary system as a setting, there was no mention of any romance, and the summary was rather vague. However, either because of the reference to an investigation in the summary, because of the preview pictures or, more likely, because I was bored, I decided to watch the first episode.
This turned out to be a great decision, and I watched the rest in about three or four days (a great feat for me, as I only do this kind of binging if the story captivates me).
Law School, as the name implies, takes place in a law school. We follow a group of law students and their criminal law professor, Yang Jong Hoon (aka Yangcrates as he is nicknamed by the students) as they face various legal cases, not the least among which is the murder of one of the most eminent professor of the university, a murder that Professor Yang is suspected of committing.
As the show progresses, the students will face the limits of the law and the way it can be used by powerful people to serve their own interests, but they will also discover their future role in the legal world and the responsibility they have in shaping the future.
This summary can seem rather vague, and it is, but that is because the drama covers so many themes, focuses on so many characters and so many plot lines, that it is practically impossible to summarize it succinctly.
Regarding the plot, it is well structured and well paced. There is never a dull moment, the plot twists are effective, and it is fairly credible as a law drama; not being realistic to the point of boring the viewer, not being outlandish to the point that it feels more like a soap opera (strong side eye to HTGAWM), yet still being entertaining and “dramatic” enough to pull the viewer in. The plot lines flow naturally from one to another and they are given the right amount of time to develop and resolve.
Regarding the depiction of the law setting, I am nowhere near qualified enough to tell whether the characters’ actions or behavior in a court of law are realistic or not, although I strongly suspect that some things are exaggerated for dramatic effect and the sake of the plot. It did not pull me out of the story, but some people who are more familiar with the judicial system might find more to criticize. One thing I appreciated was that the students are actually shown studying and struggling with all-nighters, exams, grades and all the constraints of actually being in law school. Very few of the students are actually perfect or even great students, in fact most of them are quite average in terms of grades. Compared to all the dramas where the characters are supposed to be in university and are never shown studying except when the plot requires it, this was extremely refreshing and relatable to see.
However, while the plot itself is good and effective, the two strengths of the drama are its characters and its themes.
The characters are well-written and interesting. They feel distinct from one another, with each character having their own strengths, weaknesses, desires, struggles and viewpoints on the law system. They also have incredible chemistry with one another, with the stand outs being the relationship between Kang Sol A and Han Joon Hwi’s, the relationship between Kang Sol A and Kang Sol B, the relationship between Kang Sol A and Jeon Ye Seul and the relationship between Han Joon Hwi and Seo Ji Ho.
To properly demonstrate how good these characters are, I will here introduce three of them, who can be considered to be the most important in terms of screen time. Note that they are far from being the only major characters, and that some characters (especially Jeon Ye Seul) cannot be introduced without spoiling the story.
Kang Sol A (another character is also named Kang Sol, so they receive the “A” and “B” to distinguish them from one another) is as close to a protagonist as you can get in this drama, at least when it comes to the student side, and she fulfills that role effectively. A former delinquent, due to a complicated familial environment, she is determined to pursue justice and is struggling with the limitations of the law, especially as powerful people and criminal exploits its loopholes to their own advantage. This strong sense is justice is completed by a strong loyalty to her friends and a determination to help them, which makes her the moral center among her group of friends. Despite these qualities, she is an average to bad student, often struggling with studying and grades. While this is often used as a way to provide comedy in more serious moments, it also serves to contrast her with other characters who are better students, but whose relationship with the law is more complex.
Han Joon Hwi is the most prominent male character in the student side. While Kang Sol A counts amount the “worst” students in her class, Han Joon Hwi is probably the best. He is charismatic, intelligent, funny with something of a troll side, and shares Kang Sol A’s determination for justice. However, Han Joon Hwi is in a different position, as his sense of justice has been challenged by the illegal actions of a member of his family, causing him to struggle between his affection for them and his belief that criminals should be punished. This moral dilemma causes him to be somewhat distant from other people despite his jovial attitude, rarely opening up about his true feelings and often hiding important clues and facts during investigations. He is a good counterpart to Kang Sol A, with whom he has the closest relationship with. While they are strongly implied to have romantic feelings for one another, nothing is ever resolved and the drama does not dwell too much into it, something that I am personally grateful for, as I think it would have taken a space that is better utilized elsewhere
Kang Sol B is Kang Sol A’s roommate and like Han Joon Hwi, she is one of the best students. However, while Han Joon Hwi and Kang Sol A share a strong sense of justice, Kang Sol B’s vision of justice is more complex. She is willing to be deceptive and commit illegal actions if it can suit her purposes. Furthermore, she is a far colder and distant character, whose ambition is clear to see. However, she is portrayed in a very sympathetic manner and never becomes a villain or even an antagonist. We are introduced to her familial environment and we get to understand how her family, especially her mother, has shaped the way she is. Throughout the drama, she grows into a friendlier, more balanced person, and slowly breaks free from toxic influences and patterns of thinking, to the point that she has one of the biggest character growth in the drama.
This cast of student is guided by Professor Yang Jong Hoon, who teaches criminal law, and by Professor Kim Eun Sook, who teaches civil law.
Yang Jong Hoon is one of the best teachers I have seen in media and probably one of the best characters in the drama, at the very least one of my favorites. While he is a strict and demanding teacher, he is also incredibly devoted to his work and to his students. His goal, as a teacher, is to push them to mature and to give their absolute best. However, when his students are “attacked”, he is quick to defend them against anything, no matter how powerful the threat may seem. Yang Jong Hoon takes his responsibility as a teacher very seriously, especially as it pertains to his students’ understanding of how the law works and what goals it should aspire to. Like Kang Sol A, he has a strong sense of justice, but his, due to his older age and his experiences of the judicial system, is far more mature. He is aware of how the law can be exploited, where the judicial system fails and how it can be exploited by greedy and powerful people, but is determined to teach his students that they should constantly strive for justice. The speeches he makes while in court, both as a lawyer and as a defendant, are some of my favorite moments of his, where his aspiration for justice shines wonderfully. He can also be quite eccentric, especially when he teaches. One of his best moments is when he brings the court case he is involved with as a murder suspect in class, and asks them to study it. Truly a wonderful moment.
Yang Jong Hoon shares his role as mentor with Professor Kim Eun Sook, who is probably my favorite character and a wonderfully written one. Kim Eun Sook shares Yang Jong Hoon’s sense of justice, but she can be far more cunning than him. She knows how to trick powerful people into doing things that benefit her while not compromising her morals. This aspect of her makes for delightful scenes where she is playing antagonists like fiddles all to benefit her and her students. Kim Eun Sook also displays a deep knowledge of the limitations of the law, especially when it comes to the protection of vulnerable people such as women in abusive relationships for example. She handles situations like this with grace and empathy, determined to protect her “clients” but also well aware that she sometimes needs to think outside the box to get the best results.
While this is a much less important aspect of her character, I strongly appreciate that there is absolutely no romance between her and Professor Yang and that she is played by a middle aged actress with a middle age body, and not by a younger more conventionally beautiful actress.
When it comes to the antagonists, it is difficult to talk about them without spoilers. I will however say that they are well-written and painfully realistic, which adds to the feelings of frustration we and the characters sometimes have when we see them scheme to not face the consequences of their actions. They are meant to show how the law can be exploited by powerful people and how these same people can gain sympathy from the public. The drama does not shy away from showing the damage they can do and how despicable and self-serving these people are. The fact that there are people in this world who are in similar positions and use similar tactics makes them all the more easier to hate.
As I have said before, the second great strength of the show is its themes. Unlike some dramas, TV shows and movies who portray the judicial system in either a cynical or an idealistic way, I would say that Law School depicts the judicial system in an inspirational way. As I have said throughout this review, the drama is not afraid to show the limits of the law, how it can be used to oppress people such as victims and protesters, how it is imperfect and flawed, and how the judicial system can be corrupted by powerful people like politicians for their own self-serving reasons. We see the police fail to investigate a crime properly, being pressured to solve the crime quickly and to put the blame on an innocent man, we see victims being re-traumatized in court, we see people who are fighting to protect innocents being put on trial because of their methods, we see how attorneys can be bought and how they can deceive the jury with rhetorical skills, we even see witnesses and defendants failing to use their rights because no one explained it to them, and thus damaging their cases. We see how the law can be unjust and corrupted and how it can hurt people.
And yet, the drama does not stop there. The drama shows how good and moral people can work to protect people, how they can fight to pass legislation to protect people, how the law can be changed and improved, how it is a work constantly in progress and how it must constantly adapt to new situations and cases. Instead of falling into a cynical pit, the drama uses the fact that the characters are students and teachers to show how future generations can improve a broken system and protect the marginalized and the victims. In today’s world where we are constantly confronted with the failures of our judicial system, this drama reminds us that there is still hope, and I respect it for this message.
I cannot in good faith end this review without talking about one of the most powerful plot line in the drama. I will try to keep spoilers to a minimum, but for those who have not watched the drama or do not want to be spoiled, you can stop now.
CONTENT WARNING : The following will contain references to abusive relationships, sexual assault, recording of sexual intercourse without the parties’ consent, blackmail with a recording of sexual intercourse, and references to the judicial system’s awful treatment of victims of rape and of abusive relationships. Please proceed with caution.
One running plot line from the very beginning of the drama is Jeon Ye Seul’s abusive relationship with her boyfriend, a young man named Ko Young Chang who is the only son of a powerful family. This plot line culminates with him blackmailing her with a recording of him sexually assaulting her, and her seriously injuring him while trying to prevent him from uploading it online.
This is not the first time that law dramas and TV shows have dealt with sexual assault and abusive relationships. In fact, we have a whole spin off of Law&Order specially dedicated to that. However this is by far the most sensitive depiction of this topic I have ever watched.
By spending a respectful amount of time on the portrayal of the abusive relationship itself, the drama shows us how Jeon Ye Seul is pressured into staying in the relationship even as she is harmed both physically and psychologically. It also shows the mentality of the abuser, how he manipulates his victim and finds justification for his actions. When Ko Young Chang ends up injured, Jeon Ye Seul is so broken mentally that she cannot even bring herself to defend herself against his lawsuit, let alone press charges herself. In this moment, the support of her professors is wonderfully depicted, as they refute every justification she brings up in his defense.
“Jeon Ye Seul: It wasn’t an assault. We were in love.
Kim Eun Sook: It’s sexual assault to film you secretly.
Jeon Ye Seul: Please don’t put it like that. How is spending time with someone I love….
Kim Eun Sook: […] The moment you were forced to have intercourse and began to hide signs of assault behind your sunglasses, you couldn’t call it love.”
“Jeon Ye Seul: I know he hurt me, but he’s paying for it already.
Yang Jong Hoon: Let’s get the facts straight. He’s not paying for what he did to you. While committing the crime, an accident happened. It’s his own fault, not yours.”
We are confronted, painfully, with how the judicial system hurts Jeon Ye Seul. How the invasive questions, hypothesis and suspicions re-traumatize her. How Ko Young Chang and his father (a politician) do all they can to hurt her. Yet, her classmates and her professors rally around her and this support eventually gives her the strength to acknowledge the abuse and the rape. The climax of this plot line is a wonderfully written defense of Jeon Ye Seul during her trial, first by herself (the moment she finally expresses her anger gives me chills every time) and then by Professor Yang. The harm he caused her, the pain she endures and the anger she feels are perfectly portrayed and the resolution of the case is a victory for her, but also for future victims who may face the same situation. While it takes her the rest of the drama to fully recover, she ends the drama counseling a woman in an abusive marriage, which is the most perfect resolution I could think of.
I would like to end this review with a quote by Professor Yang, which in my opinion perfectly captures both his perception of this duty as a teacher and the message the drama is trying to convey.
“As a professor who teaches criminal law, I never tell my students that the law is just. What makes the law just are the judges’ decisions based on the presumption of innocence and the law of evidence. That is what I tell my students!”

9 Alternate endings for Reborn Rich
I just finished the last two episodes of Reborn Rich and oh boy.
This post is going to contain spoilers for this show, so skip this if you don't want to know what happened.
So if you are not familiar with Reborn Rich I will start with a summary.
Reborn Rich is a Korean show that centers around this guy:
Tumblr media
Yoon Hyun Woo is a man who worked his way up from poverty to become a secretary for the Jin family, the owners of the lucrative Soonyang Group. Hyun Woo worked with a philosophy of never questioning his orders or thinking for himself. This way of working allowed Hyun Woo to make his way up the cooperate ladder and he dedicated his life and loyalty to the Jin family. This philosophy also became his downfall.
The Jin family set Hyun Woo up to take the fall for embezzlement and ultimately led to Hyun Woo being murdered after he was sent on a job by the Vice Chairman of the Soonyang Group.
Tumblr media
(Right before Hyun Woo is shot in the head and falls off a cliff.)
Hyun Woo dies and then he wakes up in the body of a child who happens to be the youngest grandson of the Jin family, Jin Do Jun.
Tumblr media
(Young Do Jun. This young actor did an excellent job in the two episodes he was in)
He finds himself thirty years in the past as a different person but with all of the memories of his past life. Do Jun then sets out to find out who was responsible for his murder and to destroy the chance for any of the Jin heirs to take control of the company and the wealth that goes along with it.
So, my first sentence was a lie. This show actually centers around Jin Do Jun who was once but is no longer Yoon Hyun Woo.
Tumblr media
(Jin Do Jun who looks exactly like Yoon Hyun Woo to the audience, but not to any of the characters in the show apparently)
However, all of Do Jun’s actions are influenced by his previous life. But the show spends so much time in the past that finding out who was responsible for his murder no longer seems so important.
Now for the real reason for this post. Episode 16.
This post is going to get long and spoiler-y so I will continue under the cut...
So episode 15 ends with our male lead Jin Do Jun in a fatal accident. (this accident happens in 2002) At the beginning of episode 16, we are in a hospital in what I believe is Turkey but we are not with Jin Do Jun.
The show jumped back to 2022 and to Yoon Hyun Woo, who apparently did not die when he was shot in the head and fell off a cliff. He was somehow saved by Seo Min Young (the love interest of Jin Do Jun and the prosecutor fighting against the Jin family) who wants to use him to finally take down the Jin family.
We find out with Hyun Woo what happened in the past (kind of). The takedown of the Jin family happens with the testimony of Hyun Woo but not for their attempted murder of Hyun Woo. No, he was an accomplice to Jin Do Jun's murder and recorded a conversation that implicated the oldest son.
Ultimately, an unsatisfying ending that made the last 14 episodes pointless.
I am calling the next part of this post:
(9) Alternate endings for Reborn Rich that would have been significantly less dumb and not ruined the last 14 episodes
1.Grandpa didn’t die a year before Do Jun’s supposed death. Grandpa’s assistant spirits Do Jun away after the accident to where Grandpa is hiding. They pretend Do Jun is dead and the three of them continue to work to put Soonyang in Do Jun’s hands.
2. Do Jun doesn’t die in the accident but those who are on his side pretend he is dead. His recovery and plans take 20 years and everyone is surprised to see him return.
3. Do Jun’s spirit enters into Yoon Hyun Woo when he dies from the accident and that is why he was reborn as a Jin. The two of them are tied together and will continue with this cycle until the Jin family is taken down.
4. Do Jun doesn’t die but still loses everything he worked for and ends up being the one responsible for Yoon Hyun Woo’s death because he needs him to start again as Do Jun (they are in some sort of time loop, similar to the last scenario).
5. Do Jun dies in the car accident but Hyun Woo and Do Jun are actually physically identical. The Jin family is shocked when they see Hyun Woo show up to take them down. The return of their late nephew/cousin unnerves them and they make even more mistakes than they already did. (I know that Hyun Woo worked for the Jin family for a long time and someone would have noticed a while ago that he looks like the youngest grandson, but with the way this show was written, this totally would have worked)
6. The accident is less serious but still happens and the people responsible kidnap Do Jun until the management rights are officially assigned. They make sure that Do Jun will be unable to get those rights in the future. But Do Jun planned for something like this and with the help of Seo Min Young and Oh Se Hyun, they take down the Jin family.
7. Do Jun goes to the hospital after the accident but when he recovers the hospital staff drugs him so he is unable to leave. The Jin family member responsible for the accident keeps Do Jun in this state and tells the world that he died in the accident. He eventually escapes and takes down the family.
8. Do Jun is rescued after the accident but is seriously injured. Seo Min Young and Oh Se Hyun take care of him and continue the takedown of the Soonyang Group.
9. Yoon Hyun Woo was working for Do Jun all along and he went under deep cover and risked his life to take down the Jin family.
All of these are absolutely ridiculous but I had fun coming up with them. Are they really any more ridiculous than the ending we got?
If you watched the show, please add your own alternate ending in the comments.

Big Five General Headcanons:
Because it's been a while since I've last talked about my boys <3
They're a one big, sometimes happy, sometimes crazy family. Gakushuu and Araki are like the parents since they're the most mature out of the five. Yes, Araki has had his fair share of shenanigans (usually he goes along with Seo), but he can act responsible when he wants to or when the situation calls for it.
And Gakushuu can't claim to always be the brain cell of the group because he's had his fair share of petty, immature moments. Most of the time, it's because he let Karma and Seo get under his skin.
Ren's like the cool older brother, which is ironic since he's the youngest.
Meanwhile, Seo and Koyama are the annoying younger siblings who can't not get in trouble.
So yeah, they're all idiots, but on different parts of the "Stupid Spectrum"
Yes, Seo actually invented the Stupid Spectrum for their stupid group, and placed himself on the "Not Stupid" side, above Gakusuu!! >:O
This lead to an argument between him and Gakushuu, which resulted in the other three adding their own two cents on how they should be ranked on the "Stupid Spectrum" which resulted in a full-blown debate between them all. Ren was the only one who wasn't yelling. How he maintains his composure is a mystery.
Gakushuu secretly envies Ren for his height. Why does he have to be the second tallest of the group?
The Big Five are well aware of this as well as Gakushuu's general disdain of being 2nd place, but Seo's the only one who brings it up to tease the hell out of his leader.
Seo has a death wish, okay?
Despite all that, the Big Five is still an organized and functional and, especially when it comes to studying.
However, after Gakushuu loosens a little in high school, things get chaotic little by little, and Gakushuu finds himself entangled into various crazy schemes prepetruated by either Seo, Koyama, or both.
After every study session, they hang out to destress. Gakushuu is not allowed to say no.
If he tries making excuses, Seo, Araki, and Koyama stare at his eye bags with matching looks that basically say "go on, I dare you to skip out on relaxing with your best buds."
And what does Ren, his best friend, do? He just stands there smiling before patting his shoulder and getting him to walk with them.
They usually chill at cafes or family restaurants. Sometimes, they go to Karaoke bars where Seo and Gakushuu have a singing competition. Ren'll join in if he feels like it, but his lack of competitiveness ticks the other two off.
While Gakushuu envies Ren for his height, the other three, especially Araki, envy him for his popularity with girls.
Araki has a romantic side and really wants to get a girlfriend so it really ticks him off when he sees Ren change girlfriends faster than his underwear. (Yes, he once said that and everyone laughed except Gakushuu, who shot the flustered Ren an amused smile)
Honestly, if these guys start giving Gakushuu grey hairs, he'll murder them! Of course, he'll hire hitmen to do that; wouldn't wanna get his hands dirty at the tender age of 16.

- you were born into wealth. how lucky , only you are so sheltered you know nothing else. a liturgy of men surround your father. you assume this means he is a god.
- your mother dies before your tenth birthday. there is little time for mourning. your father moves you to new york. you think : if he is a god , he must not be a good one.
- the american nightmare dream takes over. your father is home even less than before. you drink , you smoke , you party. wealth becomes of you.
- eighteen years on this earth before your father is murdered. the fingers suddenly point in your way. for money! they cry. do they not see you already have all the money you desire? the jury does not listen to you. you are branded a murderer.
- prison brings no wealth of the monetary value , but a priceless abundance of knowledge. you can fight. you can charm. you can plan.
- word passes to you of a group : not some petty prison yard gangs , but a well — oiled machine of avengers on the outside of these walls. borne from the same misfortune as yourself , the executioners take the pain from wrongful imprisonment & look to protect the innocent from the failure of the law. they work their magic to help you get a retrial. you are exonerated. 5 years behind bars , now over.
- the blood soaked arms of the executioners encircle you. you find a home. and you fight to protect that home. the ranks of the organisation are golden rungs upon which you scale with ease. years pass happily , then : lead with me , whispers ellaria. and so you lead.
