not to be whiny or anything but just thinking about the way my art always flops on every platform without fail, especially compared to other low effort stuff usually, and it’s gone from ‘that’s just how it be algorithms suck’ to ‘maybe I just suck at art and am deluding myself’ which isn’t fun

anyway here’s a hearth doodle I like bcs I’m trying to not fall into that mindset even if it means clawing my way out w my bare hands

i actually find it a bit funny, that male side characters in girl meets world that had an interest in riley (charlie and evan) ends up with one of them saying their dream role is jason todd and the other actually played jason todd, and i find that so fucking hilarious for some reason

My eczema is really bad. Is there anything over the counter i can use thats stronger than the 1% hydrocortisone cream?

I'm gonna call my doctor and see if he'll call in the prescription strength cortisone cream since that's fixed me in the past when I was a teen and it got this bad. But it's a new doctor and when I was a teen I had to go in person and id really rather just call it in then make an appt wait a month with red itchy peeling face before I can finally get something to fix this

#rant #eczema #anyone else have eczema? help me out with any tips u got? please #i usually use rose oil to moisturize to keep it away #and over the counter hydrocortizone 1% cream when it starts getting Super Red and dry during flare ups #but its not gotten this bad since i was like 15 #im putting hydrocortizone on 4 times a day and its keeping it from peeling/getting worse #but theres clear huge red patches on both cheeks next to my mouth and nose #and they just are NOT healing up #i read uv rays might help but idk how long theyd help and its getting cloudy here so i cant lay in sun #i could go to a tanner but only once not daily ToT #i just need to get it under control enough that over the counter hydrocortizone and my rose hip oil will be enoygh again #edit: its definitely eczema as only hydrocortizone cream seems to be calming it a bit. but its still large red patches just less itchy #slightly less raised with the hydrocortizone. but its just not strong enough ;-;

this’ll probably stay in the drafts but in a weird headspace about my art again (both writing and drawing but mostly the latter) which is fun!!/s

I know likes don’t quantify talent I know algorithms suck I know it’s dependent on the media/fandoms. I know all of that and yet posting stuff to three separate platforms for barely ten combined likes fucking sucks

I try to draw and write for myself but at the same time it’s disheartening and I hate it and hate more that I can’t do anything about it. I think the need for validation through likes/affirmation is definitely a neurodivergent thing with how intense it can be and I also wonder if anyone else experiences said stuff the same way I do. I crave affirmation on what I create and also struggle to believe said affirmation when I receive it if I go out of my way to show said thing to people. I just can’t accept that it’s not a pity sort of comment unless it’s come across without any intervention from me which?? is dumb but when does feeling bad ever make sense

I think it gets me a lot because my art used to be terrible (just because I was learning and what’s important is I was happy w it at the time) but get upwards of 30/40 likes and now that I’m in a position where I feel like I know what I’m doing, I’m consistent w my style etc for barely 5 likes sometimes, it makes that progress feels. pointless I guess? the more I take a step back and look at myself the more I realise how much I buffer most things I share w stuff like ‘you don’t/no one cares but’ ‘this isn’t that good btw’ and that’s?? I really shouldn’t do that but I can’t help it cause I’m caught in this weird mentality of trying to make myself not care so much but I do about it by knocking myself down preemptively

basically I feel like a kid excitedly showing a parent a play doh sculpture only to be inevitably brushed off each time and it’s definitely an experience and maybe that analogy comes from somewhere specific who knows but yeah that’s where my head is at rn

OMG A LIL RANT: a pet peeve of mine is when people spend so much time in comparing percy and harry potter saying they look alike just because they have green eyes and messy black hair.

like i can name sm people that fit the description but look so different irl. things like face structure, ethnic features, the way you carry yourself, are also factors that people seem to forget.

first of all, percy much tanner, leaner, and holds himself like a proud leader

harry is a sickly, malnourished pale boy that typically keeps to himself and avoids attention (unless to banter with malfoy)

also, while their eyes are green, percy's is a very distinct color that was passed down from LITERALLY poseidon. and most importantly, harry has such a nerd-ish vibe in comparison to percy's athletic nature. they couldn't be more different. also i feel like british people are like a whole another species, it's wild to compare him to our lovely lil new yorker
