Your laugh rang out through the halls as he carried you to your shared bedroom. Collapsing onto the bed you both erupted into giggles.

“I’m so drunk”, you mumbled against his chest, inhaling in his scent.

“Me too”, as he looked down at you, you both started laughing again.

“Why are we even laughing?”, he just shrugged, trying to contain his laughter but failing miserably.

“I fucking love you”, he said, after your laughter died down. Looking at him, a small pout formed onto your lips.

“I love you”, as soon as the words left your mouth, tears started to well up in your eyes. His eyes widened before a small laugh escaped his mouth.

“Are you crying?”

“Don’t laugh”, shoving his shoulder, you glare at him.

“Sorry you’re just so cute”, rolling your eyes you tried not to smile at him.

“It’s just cause I’m drunk”, you mumbled, which earned a chuckle from the equally as drunk man beside you.

“Mhm”, shooting him another glare you leaned on your back looking up at your ceiling fan.

“If you had one more drink you’d be crying about how much you love me too”, you mumbled, closing your eyes, the sleepiness of being drunk hitting you. Smiling in your direction he leaned towards you, pressing a kiss to your lips, tasting like tequila and mint.

“I was thinking.” You trailed off for a moment, wondering if you were really sure if you should ask your question.

“You were thinking?” He mimicked your words and leaned to look at you on the couch next to him. “That’s new.”

“Actually, I changed my mind.” You rolled your eyes at the amused grin on his face, shifting back to sink into the couch further.

“I want to know what you were thinking about.” He leaned his shoulder against you now and slipped his hand in yours, obviously trying to get your attention on him once more. “I take back what I said.”

“Fine.” You spoke after staring at him for a long moment, playing with his fingers nervously. “What if you moved in?”

“What?”

“I mean, you’ve been staying here almost every night anyways.” You waited for a second, trying to get a sense of what he was feeling at your offer. You’d been thinking about this for a while now and never really knew when to bring it up.

“You’re sure you want me to?” He asked, the amusement in his tone morphing into a softer sound as he stared back at you.

“Yes, I think so.”

“Okay.” He smiled even bigger now at the prospect of living with you. “Ask me again.”

“You’re kidding.” You rolled your eyes again at him even though his antics warmed your heart. “Move in with me?”

“Absolutley.” He answered quickly this time, sitting up fully to kiss you before speaking again. “I’ve been waiting forever for this.”

“Oh, you have?” You laughed, pulling him even closer to you to the point he was laying on top of you now. “Sorry I didn’t bring it up sooner.”

“It’s okay, I still love you.” He faked a sigh, pressing another small kiss to your lips before resting his head on your chest. “Wanna go get my stuff?”

“Right now?” You didn’t think he’d move in this fast.

“Yes right now, I can’t wait any longer.”

Ryū didn't necessarily ask you to be his girlfriend. There was no grand gesture a few months into dating or a massive heart-to-heart to confirm that you two were taking that step together. He sort of just started calling you his girlfriend.

Something that surprised you about him is how deeply sentimental he is. During one of your dates, he insisted on taking photobooth pictures together, practically dragging you into the booth with him as he paid the fee and slung an arm around you. "C'mon, doll! It'll be fun, plus, this way, I can keep your picture with me everywhere!"

You two were there for almost an hour, striking pose after pose as you laughed with each other. You feel your cheeks heat up as he kisses you for a photo, his large hands cupping your face as he kisses you deeply. He hums with delight when he sees it printed onto the snapshots. "This one's just for me," he grins, wriggling his eyebrows at you as you smack his chest lightly.

He pouts when you say no after he asks you for one last set of pictures with just you, "Please, babe! That way, I can look at it whenever I miss you."

You roll your eyes playfully but oblige— you're not a monster. "You tell me you miss me all the time, Ryū," you tease, smiling at him as you stay seated.

"Exactly, I can look at your pictures all the time then! It'll totally help to see your face before a game if you can't be there in person— it'll help pump me up!" he grins, feeding the machine another bill as you pose for the pictures. He dropped you off that night with the broadest grin, knowing he didn't have to look far to see you smiling at him. It warms his heart knowing he's found a girl that not only puts up with his antics, but loves him for it.

He took the photos of you everywhere. His wallet, his phone case, his gym locker, taped up on his room's wall. You name it, your face is plastered there. You had to physically restrain him from ordering t-shirts with the photos on them, much to his dismay. "Fine," he grumbled. "I'll just show people the pictures of you then."

It's safe to say he loves being with you, showing you off as the brilliant woman who had, in your folly and his delight, chosen to be with him. The first time you'd visited him after practice, the team's eyes practically jumped out of their skulls after you ran up to him and kissed him on the cheek, asking him how it went.

"So she is real?!" Nishinoya yells as he runs up to Ryū to give him a high-five. "Holy shit, sorry, Tanaka. We all thought you made her up—"

He turns to you, introducing himself as Karasuno's libero and Tanaka's friend. "I've heard a lot about you, Nishinoya," you smile, giving him a friendly pat on the shoulder. You swear he swoons a little as you do.

"Babe," he whines when you peel his arm off you as Daichi calls him into the gym. "I wanna keep my arm on you until we get in!" he complains, earning a snicker from Nishinoya and Kageyama, who are a few steps ahead of you.

You laugh, "Oh god, you big baby. Do you really want your opponents to see you pouting? Think of what message that'd send, Tanaka." You tease, knowing exactly how to rile him up for the match.

You laugh even harder as he crosses his arms and gives you a "Hmph!" as he lets you go. "Fine, but you better be cheering the loudest in there, doll."

He blushes as you kiss him quickly, "You know I always am, honey." You marvel at how quickly he runs into the gym, energized by your affection as his teammates run in to catch up with him.

You sit beside a friend from class as the team warms up, beaming at him whenever he looks at you after nailing a spike. "Let's go, Ryū!" you yell as the crowd thickens.

Soon enough, the match starts, and you're as energetic as he is as the team plays, whooping when they score and yelling encouragements when the other team scores. "C'mon, boys! You've got this!"

He turns to point to you after every kill, grinning up at you like you're his sun, and when he gets the game-winning point, he screams your name as he lands back on the gym floor.

The team is huddled and celebrating as you run down to congratulate them and celebrate with him. You raise an eyebrow at Daichi when you don't spot Ryū in the huddle. He shakes his head, jerking a thumb back over to where Ryū is standing, arguing with a player from the opposing team.

You hurriedly walk over to try to pull him away, knowing that he can get a little too hyped up after winning games—especially when he's the one who scored the match point.

You're about to call out to him when his voice cuts you off, yelling at the player as he grabs his gym bag from the team's manager, ruffling through the contents to grab something.

Oh no.

"Uh yeah! I so, too, have a girlfriend, dipshit!" He yells as he smiles wickedly at the brown leather wallet in his hand, unfurling it with a dramatic finish.

Oh, god, no.

"Look and weep, dickhead." He bellows, the proud undertone incredibly clear in his voice as he puts a hand on his hip. To your dismay, the player actually looks, stuttering as he tries to downplay the photo, "Y-Yeah, whatever. That's probably just a random picture you printed off the internet, weirdo."

Ryū scoffs, his hand still on his hip and wallet still extended at the gawking player. "Ha! You'd think so, right? I mean, she's so gorgeous that there's no way she's real. I thought so, too, when I first saw her. Why'd you think I worked so hard to impress her?" He says, his voice brimming with pride and affection, before folding the wallet.

"Yeah? She's not even here, so she can't be that good!" The player argues, and you roll your eyes.

You take a breath, about to call out to him, but Daichi's voice beats you, "Tanaka!" He waits for a beat as Ryū turns to him slowly before gesturing to where you are, "Your girlfriend's been here waiting for you, dummy."

You give Daichi a thankful look and giggle as Ryū turns quickly to where you are, scooping you up in his arms as he celebrates the win with you. "Congrats, babe!" You cheer as you kiss him deeply.

He pulls away from you, giving your nose a delicate kiss, before turning to look at the player who's already walking away, one arm hooked under you to keep you held up as he points at the player before pointing to you.

"Hey! Asshole! Take a look at my girlfriend!"

Phone Calls with Karasuno

What a phone call between the two of you might look like/when you might call

Daichi

Daichi calls you whenever you walk home alone. He always walks you home if you go to his practice, and he usually does the same when he doesn't have practice, but sometimes you need to go straight home, or you have too much work to come see him practice. On those days, he calls you on his way home to make sure you got home safe.

Suga

He honestly calls you most mornings when he's on his way to practice, which is about the time you wake up. He likes to get the chance to talk to you since you two don't see each other much during the day due to your schedules, and he knows you like to hear his voice in the morning.

Asahi

He's such a sweetheart, he calls you whenever he has the chance. He just calls you when he's bored and always gets super shy when you pick up. He calls you every night when he's at training camp, which he got scolded for by Daichi because he's keeping the others awake. He really just likes to hear your voice all the time because it's familiar and calming.

Noya

He usually calls you every so often, generally just to check in if he hasn't seen you much that day. You guys don't usually call because you're constantly snapping each other silly photos, which gets you both in trouble in school. When he's at training camp though- he'll just drop off the face of the earth for a while because he's so into practice, but then he'll turn around and call you half a million times to gush about all the awesome things that happened today, and usually ends up keeping you awake until way past your bed time.

Tanaka

He's not usually one for calling, since y'all are together almost all the time, and you text a lot when you aren't hanging out. But every so often, when he finds himself feeling lonely or down, you'll be woken in the middle of the night by the sound of your phone ringing. He'll apologize over and over again for waking you up, but when you prompt him he'll shyly admit that he needed to hear your voice. Those are usually the times when you guys are the sweetest.

Ennoshita

He calls you every so often, usually just to check up on you. He prefers to interact with you in person, but he'll call you up just to say hi if he knows you're both too busy to hang out for a while. When practice has been taking up a lot of his time lately, he calls you most every night because he doesn't want you to feel at all neglected or lonely, even though you completely understand he's just busy.

Kageyama

Oh he had to work up the guts to call you the first few times. This boy's just shy and you know it, so you were the one to call him in the beginning, usually just to say hi, tell him to do his best, and remind him to eat and take breaks so he doesn't overwork himself. But he got more comfortable initiating conversations and stuff with you, so now he calls you all the time. He literally calls you every morning after practice to make sure you got to school ok, and every night to make sure you got home. He's super protective, but it's ok with you because you know if you told him to stop it he'd back down right away.

Hinata

He doesn't have to call you. He basically orbits around you. Of course he can't always be with you, but he texts you at basically every spare minute. Yes he overuses exclamation points. It's just facts. He does call sometimes, but that's usually when he's off at training camp and won't see you for a while, or when he's really excited about something and just has to tell you everything right now. Calls with Hinata usually last forever and typically end with the both of you getting yelled at to go to bed already, but it's always worth it. He's a literal ball of sunshine and you can't say no to him.

Tsukishima

He doesn't call. We're not sure he knows or cares how to use a phone. He doesn't really like digital interactions, so, because he's conveniently your neighbor, whenever he wants to see you or talk to you he just shows up at your front door. He'll usually just hang out with you in your room, sometimes you'll both just sit next to each other quietly doing your own thing, sometimes you'll study together or listen to music. When he's been really busy with practice, he'll usually come see you, and you can probably convince him to cuddle with you, sometimes because he feels a little bad for not seeing you much lately, and sometimes because he's just done with practice and wants to be comforted (though he'll never admit it).

Yamaguchi

You call him all the time to tell him about your classes, your day, how good he did in practice, etc. He humors you because he thinks it's cute how excitable you are. Your enthusiasm has been rubbing off on him though, and he's started calling you a lot more to tell you about all sorts of goofy things that happened during practice, or something really smart that Tsukki said in class today.

lmao sorry I didn't write for Kinnishita or Narita, I just don't think we know enough about them for me to be able to write for them.

He just stares. Jaw down to the ground. He doesn't even know what shocked him: the fact that you were that strong to do that or how your thighs looked while. He would take it as a competition, he would be like: "Oh yeah? I can do that too!" Then he like grabs a small chunk of crushed (by your majestic thighs) watermelon and puts it between his legs. The he tries to squeeze it, but fails miserably. You take it the chunk in your hand and crush it and he says: "Well, I got it loosed for you" he hufs and then we would act so dramatic, pleaseee.

Tanaka, BOKUTO, Hinata, Oikawa (do not argue on this-).

Complains and acts like he didn't just drool over your gorgeous thighs. "You ruined the watermelon." You look offended like you just wanted to help. "I'm sorry, i didn't mean to do that,we just, didn't have other ways to do it" He sees that you looked at him with a pout so he quickly says "It looked kinda cool tho.." You end up teasing him all night, teehee, he loves you so much, he loves everything about you.

Tsukisima (of course), Kenma, Kageyama, Kyotani.

He would flirt so much pleaseeeee. He would stare at your thighs, then at the watermelon and then at you and with the biggest smirk and a bit of blush, he would say: "DAAAMN, DO THAT TO ME" you look at him like -__- but when he sees that you blushed too he would tease you,omg.

Thinking about Tanaka, who despite all the muscles and tough exterior, treats you so extremely gently.

Thinking about him cuddling you against him in the middle of the night during the summer, your bedroom window wide open, cool breeze flirting with your curtains as it swirls around the room. You’d be wearing sleep shorts and one of his bigger t-shirts, your hands and legs cold from the breeze as you snuggle against him, pressing as close as you can to him in the summer before your last year of high school.

And thinking about him crying with you when your childhood dog passes away from old age; after all, good ole’ Buster loved Tanaka like he loved your family, and while you’d only been with Tanaka for a little over a year, they were the best of buds. So when you call him, barely able to tell him what’s wrong through your sobs, his heart feels like it cracks in half. He’s toeing on his shoes as quick as he can, swiping Saeko’s keys from the bowl by their front door and before she can even inquire about where he’s going, he’s long gone. When he finds you in your room, curled up on the floor with Buster’s favorite toy, he drops to his knees and cries with you. And it’s so nice, you think, that even though your boyfriend looks and acts tough, he’s so gentle. So empathetic.

And if you’re feeling sad, Tanaka would be the first to pick you up, make sure you’re fed and hydrated. He’d doing anything he could to see you smile, whispering a soft there she is, there’s my girl, when you do.

Also thinking about Tanaka, who is stretched for money, but goes out and buys you a beautiful ring right before he proposes, because even though he can barely make it through the month sometimes, he loves you so much and wants you to know that.

Thinking about Tanaka, who swears up and down that he isn’t good with kids, but would do anything for his newborn daughter. Thinking about him having chest time with her, where he takes his shirt off and lays her down on his chest because it’s good for her, he says. You know that means that it’s good for him. He likes to know that the little human he helped create is his, and that she’s loved.

It wasn’t even four minutes after your last class got out for the day before he texted you. Even though you’d been expecting it, seeing it brought a smile to your face.

-him: “how was class?”

-him: “you fell asleep again didn’t you”

Despite the way your heart sped up at the texts you couldn’t stop from rolling your eyes, of course he’d say something like that.

-you: “no you weirdo i watched every second of the boring lecture”

-you: “give me some credit.”

-him: “mhm sure”

-him: “whatever you say”

-him: “call me i miss you”

Your heart jumped for what felt like the hundredth time on the short walk across campus, his text shouldn’t have come as a surprise to you.

He didn’t give you enough time to process what he said though. Your phone lit up with his name, not even a full minute after.

“I’m sorry, I don’t answer solicitors.” You said, trying your best to sound disappointed as you answered the call.

“Oh, well this is awkward then, I was going to try to sell you some insurance.” He paused for a second and you had to stop yourself from laughing at that, “Another time maybe?”

“For sure.” You rolled your eyes at that, smiling even more than you had before. “You back at your apartment yet?”

“You ruined the bit!” The groan sounding through the phone was obviously forced, you could almost hear the smile hiding in it. “But yeah, I got back a while ago, finished all my homework right on campus so I’m bored.”

“Oh, that’s why you’re calling me then? You’re bored?”

“Yup. Needed someone to bother.” His laugh was bright as it echoed through you phone and it sounded just as good as it usually did.

“Oh, you must have some pretty good luck then, it just so happens that I don’t have any homework left too.” You mused, knowing exactly where this was leading.

“Oh, so you’re coming over then?”

“Are you asking me to come over?” You mocked trying to mimic the same tone he had, you had already started walking towards his place.

“Mmm, I don’t think it’s an option actually.” His answer was laced with a bit more of serious now, as if he thought you’d think it was a joke. “Grab some dinner for us? I’m seriously lacking on groceries right now, I’ll venmo you.”

“You’re always lacking on groceries, what’s new?”

You had to laugh at that, the amount of times you’d been grocery shopping with him always resulting in nothing.

“Yeah yeah, I’ll see you soon.” You could almost hear him rolling his eyes through the phone at that.

“Okay, see you soon. I’m staying the night by the way.”

“I’d expect nothing less.” His voice softened at that and it warmed your chest. “That wasn’t an option either.”

Tanaka won’t stop staring at you.

At first it was sweet - the way he had his head propped up by his hand, cheeks squished and a charming, dopey smile plastered on his face.

Then, it became a little bit annoying - the way his chest would heave with what you assume to be a longing sigh, the sound drifting across the table in the library while you scribble your notes just that little bit harder into your copybook.

Now you’re considering contacting a teacher, or even a god damn police officer because this is getting a little bit ridiculous and bordering on harassment because he hasn’t looked away from you once since you sat down at the table to go over maths with him an hour ago and you’re beginning to get a little freaked out.

Was there something on your face? A pimple, a wart, a missing eye? Was he picturing someone else when he looked at you? Like Kiyoko, with her stunning, otherworldly looks and angel-like nature. You know he had a thing for her before, it wouldn’t be too far fetched, as much as it saddens you to admit. For all his idiocy and brashness, Tanaka was somebody you’ve come to care for a little more than a friend would.

…maybe he hit his head in practice, and wasn’t 100% there. Suffering brain damage right in front of you.

Whatever it is, you’ve reached your limit of blushing and sweaty palms for the day.

“Can you stop staring at me? You’re really starting to freak me out. Like do I have a second head I don’t know about, Ryuu?”

Tanaka startles, his shaved head whipping up so fast, cheeks burning red with the embarrassment of being told off so blatantly. His eyes flicker from side to side, but when no immediate laughter comes from strangers, he deflates, and shoots you that same, silly grin he’s been sporting since you arrived.

“No second head,” he beams happily. You narrow your eyes.

“Ugly pimple?”

“Nope, and even if you did have one, I wouldn’t care!”

You squirm in your seat. “Then what? I can’t be that interesting to look at. I don’t think you’ve heard a single thing that came out of my mouth since we started studying.”

Tanaka looks like he vibrating nervously in his seat, but before you can question if he’s going to puke or not, he blurts out:

“I just…adore you.”

You blink. You stare. You struggle to open your mouth and reply. Tanaka holds the stars in his eyes for you, laying them bare for you to touch.

And just like him, a dopey smile blooms on your face, which you promptly bury in the pages of your textbook, but you’re sure he sees the burning of your ears, if his happy laugh is anything to go by.

But the hand on your head is so gentle, and now you suddenly crave the stars in his eyes.

“I adore you too,” you whisper so quietly, and the fingers in your hair shake.

helicopter trip. to show the written will you marry me on the beach or somewhere else. ok let’s say he’s a rich ceo, or just rented out a helicopter for a while, and youre in a helicopter with him flying over the beach or some high buildings. the beach would have the words “will you marry me?” dug into it. or, it could he shells, but aligning them is a pain in the ass. but who wouldnt go extra measures for their love? and for the buildings, he sets up flowers in those very words. you DID in fact say yes, and it was a total success!!

(you both know morse code) and he proposes through the wall. maybe while youre showering? ok, so you were like studying or doing things in the room right next to his, so he decided to knock on the wall in morse code. you were thrown off guard by the question. so you went outside and there he was, kneeling, ready to ask for your hand in marriage. and the showering situation, LMAO, that just sounds awkward 💀

they hang the sign on your ceiling. so its the first thing you see waking up. (lets pretend everyone sleeps facing up). funny funny. waits until like the ass crack of dawn when they know youre KNOCKED out and they start taping up the poster board with the question. and luckily, the first thing you wake up to, is the sign. except, it was UPSIDE DOWN… but you were able to understand it and thats all that mattered. now youre 4 years in the marriage living a lavish and happy life 😼
