File: Brightburn
SCP#: AEX
Code Name: Brightburn: Agent of Earth's Destruction.
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-AEX is contained in one of the lower levels of Site-AF. He is locked within an anomalous humanoid coffin reinforced with the same metal of the pod he came to earth on as a baby. Attached to the coffin is a Pygmalion Bio Editor Station designed to feed him, collect his waist through tubes, and collect DNA samples from his body. The machine will also be used to measure his growth through the years so that the coffin can be updated every time he has a growth spurt.
In the event of a growth spurt, SCP-AEX is to be sedated and taken out of the coffin. Foundation technical staff are to weld and alter the coffin so that it can fit his body. This process must be done within 4 hours as no sedative can keep SCP-AEX asleep for any longer. Commander Wells is to be present during this process as she is currently the only Foundation staff member that can stand toe to toe against SCP-AEX. Though as an added precaution Mobile Task Force Epsilon-11 "Nine-Tailed Fox" will also be present with shields and batons made of steel infused with the same metal to help combat against SCP-AEX.
Description: SCP-AEX is a humanoid anomaly that, despite his human appearance, is extraterrestrial in nature. Unfortunately, even after obtaining the technology within SCP-AEX's ship and extensive DNA testing, it is unknown where exactly SCP-AEX hails from. He is much more durable and stronger than the average human able to withstand an attack from steel blades and even the impact of continuous shots from an M134 Minigun. SCP-AEX also has numerous anomalous abilities like being able to manipulate the gravity around his body allowing him to fly without restrictions. His eyes can generate energy and they reflect through the iris of the eyes allowing him to generate concentrated lasers. These lasers are hot enough to burn through steel and vaporize flesh ease.
Surprisingly, SCP-AEX doesn't actually like cutting up with his laser eyes but instead like to ram through them while flying. Because nothing can hurt him, he can tear through metal and flesh easily leaving nothing but splats of blood. SCP-AEX doesn't like over relying on his powers and instead goes for stealth tactics. He doesn't do this out of caution but merely to mock his prey to show them how powerless they are. He normally only uses his laser vision when they have barricaded themselves form him using fortified metal doors and walls.
Though SCP-AEX's psychology seems to be of psychopathic nature, it's also a possibility that SCP-AEX was genetically made to be like this so that he could blend in and conquer the world. SCP-AEX claims his purpose was to "take the world" though for who and why is a question even he seems to have no answer too.
SCP-AEX was discovered in 2018 when a small series of unexplained disappearances and murderers were reported in the small town of [data expunged]. Foundation agents found the clues leading to a farmhouse in [data expunged], unfortunately the agents were spotted by SCP-AEX and slaughtered. The next day SCP-AEX crashed a plain into the farmhouse to coverup the evidence, but the Foundation had already gotten an ID of SCP-AEX from the body cameras on the Agents. After SCP-AEX was taken into local police custody to later be adopted by a local family. Mobile Task Force Alpha-9 "Last Hope" was assigned to his capture. Commander Wells and a few Agents she handpicked were the only ones assigned to the mission, she refused to allow anyone else to participate given how strong SCP-AEX was.
Because of her control over all forms of energy, Commander Wells was able to make SCP-AEX's eyes burn himself and incapacitate him by trapping him in a magnetic bubble. After his ship was found and shown to be able to harm him it was dismantled and used to reinforce the coffin he was later placed in. SCP-AEX's DNA is used to see if it's possible to create genetic mutations or Foundation medication to increase Foundation personal strength and maybe give MTF units his anomalous abilities. Unfortunately, this has been met with zero success; none-the-less, testing on SCP-AEX's DNA has continued to see where his origin is, how exactly his anomalous abilities work, and if they are even considered anomalous where he's form.

“I could have stopped [bad thing] and chose not to, therefore every [bad thing] ever is now my fault if I fail to intervene” hero complex versus “I could have stopped [bad thing] and chose not to, therefore I must behave in a manner that’s ideologically consistent with being okay with [bad thing]“ villain complex, fight.

So the final character turns out to be based on Ryugen, but it feels kinda weird how there is also one based on Zangetsu and they aren't brothers
Or what if plot reveals they are brothers and he was actually adopted or stollen
I CAN'T BELIEVE HE'S ACTUALLY RYUUGEN?! I made a joke about it when Toten got revealed but I didn't actually expect... (I'm counting it as a win though, which means I guessed three out of sixteen! ...given how wacky some of these got, I'm actually pretty proud of that.)
he seems very sweet though! I hope he and his secret hamsters are very happy together. 🐹

THIS WAS MY EXACT TRAIN OF THOUGHT TOO! either this is an incredible bit of meta foreshadowing, or an incredible bit of Takahashi trolling, and I -- I honestly don't know which is more likely)

the thing about steve rogers is that the only logical outcome for him would be to make him ant*fa or gay retired so they had to nerf him because marvel studios is the us government's PR little sub piss bottom and they accidentally funneled him into being a revolutionary with tws. but in my heart i know what he's up to. but also i dont care about superheroes

U know what makes me so weak?? Imagining Adam coming to earth as a kid, scared of everything. The people, customs, expectations, EVERYTHING. And slowly realizes people can be chill actually but still is very reserved until he meets Steven “I loved the latest entry of your diary” Boxleitner. Mr. “Obsessed with birdwatching but you’re the bird”.
Like he slowly realizes that Steven sees EVERYTHING. The good, the uncomfortable, the stressful, everything!! And he continues his lifelong devotion to Adam anyway. It’s like, for the first time in his life, the logic outweighs the low self-esteem.

Hettie Cutburn
“One of the former heads in the Empire Society now a Female Furie and Odaila’s pet.”
Hettie was in charge of healing distributions for the empire’s society and other factions. However, after the failed attack led by Darkseid many of the empire’s allies were held for their actions against selling out their own people including the healer. With no other place to find peace they turned to their allies on the hellish world Apokolips but were greatly mistaken for anything especially safety.
The Witch saw half of the society used for the evil warlords own entertainment and use when it came time for her fate Mother Blight intervened having spared the witch’s life but only to have her be added to the greedy woman’s female furries army. After her surgical procedure transforming Hettie along with Kikimora into the latest ‘New-Gods’, the former witch quickly exceeded further then the other furries even gaining Odaila’s favor.
Alongside Mother Blight Hettie now known as…
The Twisted Caretaker… Seisma
Seisma is Odaila’s spy within the ‘Female Furies’ she reports to her mistress and takes joy in tormenting others with her newfound abilities. However, like all of the Blights pets is subjected to humiliation as a slave by Darkseid’s 2nd in command for failure.
Powers & Abilities
Knowledge of the body: Due to being a past healer for the empire society Hettie/Seisma known how to locate and rearrange the broken bodies of her allies or how to enforce more pain then possible to her enemies. New-God Physiology: Hettie now a God herself is much stronger, faster & smarter than her former species despite their resemblance. She now has the following.
Immortality
Super Strength: As one of the most powerful members of the Female Furies. Seisma is strong enough to lift more than 70 tons and can jump great distances creating powerful shock waves upon impact, break steel and impact craters. I addition, to being both a formidable healer/warrior giving Superwoman a run for her money.
durability & reflexes
Anti-matter boots: Enhance her already impressive strength of her legs. Theses boots can crush her victims, and create earthquakes or tremors by stomping onto the ground. Scalpel knife: A personal weapon the new god uses to torture her victims. Magic: After becoming a New God, Hettie magic bile was restored replacing the artificial one to her heart. Now her powers in healing are more then ever before, matching perfectly to her cold-blooded nature. Earning her the title of, Wicked doctor.
Healing Magic: Hettie can cast spells that allow her to heal or protect herself from injuries. She also uses this ability to manipulate and control her victims healing system to increase the level of pain to a whole higher level. Tractor beam emission: Hettie can conjure beams to hold moving objects in place to prevent them from harming her and lose their momentum. Allowing her to attack her targets in place while absorbing their build-up for herself. Weapon Brandishing: Skilled at throwing & using projectiles with ease.
Weakness
Vulnerability to Radion: An unknown substance but its effects are toxic to New Gods.
Power Limiter: Despite her loyalty towards Mistress Blight, Seisma is still forced to wear the power control collar around her neck so, that Odaila remains in full control of her pets. Should she angry or fail she is powerless to the pain unleashed by the collar as are her follow furies. With a flip of a switch Odaila controls the brawny healers powers neutralizing them or empowering her toy. Speed: Seisma is large and powerful but due to her large build and powers of the anti-matter boots. She is the slowest of the Furies. If she were to impact to heavy to an area she could find herself wedged & stuck in place for a counter attack.

Prompt #18
The entire fight was broadcasted all over the city.
The Civilian who had once been a nobody was now all anyone ever talked about, as their recent kidnapping by Supervillain was plastered everywhere. There was somehow always a news team who discovered Supervillain's newest hideouts, and everything was well documented.
Now thousands watched with bated breaths as the final fight had broken out. Superhero had tracked Supervillain down, and they were now locked in the fight of the decade as Civilian sat in a corner, tied to a chair.
Some bet Supervillain was going to win and Civilian would be their prisoner forever, others had their money on Superhero. Superhero, they reasoned, was stronger than Supervillain, and could beat them easily if it came down to skill and strength. The only reason Supervillain was even able to fight was their cunning head and devious weapons. In real hand to hand combat, they couldn't stand a chance.
But somehow, they were. The fight went back and forth, everyone watching- even Civilian, who the news teams occasionally cut back to- on the edge of their seats.
At one point, Superhero had Supervillain pinned down by their neck. Ten minutes later, Supervillain had Superhero cornered with a knife to their throat.
On and on it went, all of it too exciting to look away.
Finally, finally, Superhero struck the winning blow. Kicking Supervillain hard in the side, throwing them violently backwards. Supervillain hit hard up against one of the wooden boxes scattered around their lair, smacking their head and slumping to the ground, blood trickling from their nose.
Superhero stood over the dazed villain, their chest puffed out in victory as they smiled dazzlingly down at their fallen foe.
"Your reign is over, Supervillain." Superhero told them as the reporters' cameras zoomed in on their face. Their heaving chest, their bruised and bloody arms. "You will no longer terrorize the Civilian and the rest of the city. Let this be a lesson."
And with that they swept away, their cape swishing behind them as they went to untie Civilian.
At home, and even in the crowds surrounding the lair everyone went wild. Cheering, screaming, crying. Relieved that the Civilian had been saved, letting out cries of victory or woe as the fight turned out differently than they thought it would.
There was too much hype going on, no one noticed Supervillain dragging themself away to lick their wounds. Superhero and Civilian had vanished, likely trying to get away from the crowds to properly recover before making a public appearance.
Nobody cared, however. The police were too busy trying to wrangle the crowds around the lair, the reporters too preoccupied with trying to summarize the fight. Hardly anyone noticed when Supervillain's lair was suddenly empty of the three people the city had spent the last half hour watching.
In a dark narrow and foggy alley several blocks from all of the commotion, Superhero let out a breath as they relaxed against a wall, Civilian still in their arms.
Civilian blushed, grinning at them. "T-thank you for saving me."
"Oh cut that out," Superhero rolled their eyes, they were still trying to catch their breath after their quick retreat.
Civilian just giggled and kissed their cheek.
Both of them looked up as there came the sound of rushed and faulty footsteps to their right, and witnessed a very dejected looking Supervillain stumbling into the alley.
Civilian gasped and clutched tighter to Superhero. "It's Supervillain!" They cried. "They're back to kidnap me!"
Supervillain was out of breath and shaking, but they looked up with a determined and deadly smirk. "You bet, Civilian. And this time nothing can-"
"You two are ridiculous," Superhero grumbled, setting Civilian down.
Supervillain and Civilian both burst out laughing, and Superhero only rolled their eyes again. Civilian was the first to rush to their partner, throwing their arms around Supervillain in a tight hug. "You were amazing!"
"Thanks," Supervillain said with a smile. "That hurts though get off of me-"
Civilian quickly retracted their arms as Superhero stepped over to them. "I'm sorry," they said softly. "I didn't mean to hit you that hard."
"It's okay," Supervillain had to stand on the tips of their toes to reach Superhero's cheek with a small kiss. "It's just a few bruises, I'll live."
"But you weren't supposed to get hurt, it was all just meant to be staged-"
"I'm fine, Superhero." They took their partner's hand. "I knew one of us might get hurt, you knew that too."
Civilian smiled warmly. "Now what? We all become famous actors?"
"What's the use?" Superhero asked. They seemed to be lightening up after they realized Supervillain had forgiven them. "That performance was already our magnum opus."
Civilian and Supervillain laughed, and Supervillain let themself collapse against Superhero. "I think going home right now sounds fantastic." They sighed.
"Home it is!" Civilian exclaimed as Superhero swept Supervillain up into their arms.
"Takeout dinner's on me," Superhero said resolutely as the three made their way down the alleyway.
The crime stopper chuckled as their partners gave various exclamations of excitement.
Before they left the alley, Supervillain groaned suddenly from their place in Superhero's arms. "'Let this be a lesson'?" They quoted, frowning at their partner. "Really?!"
Civilian nodded. "That was pretty terrible."
"I'm not mad at you for accidentally hitting me, I'm mad at you for that line. I think that bruised me more."
"Give me a break!" Superhero defended. "I didn't know what else to say!"
"Yeah, but that? Along with 'your reign is over'? Try harder, do better."
A third eye roll and a chuckle. "Oh, shut up."

Superhero family au
I blame myself for rewatching The Thundermans so when I look at it. I think of Dire and Clara fsmily
Except Dire is a retired villain known as “Gracious Raven” and I see Clara a retired beloved superhero. And these two didn’t knew each other after their wedding and also Sialia. So they got a surprise for it when both had a secret identity. They mutually understood each other retiring for a normal life and honest family. And they got what they wanted. Their identities isn’t changing anything.
We have honest chef dad, cool business mom, flower girl, frilly girl, pastel girl, and babey

@heartofstanding tagged me in this meme months ago and unfortunately it took me this long to get to it because I had a mild crisis over how long it's been since I've read a novel, let alone one that I loved 😅 so this is nine of my favourite novels (not books, because if I included manga/short stories/comics/etc this would be giant)
Tumblr media
0The Picture of Dorian Gray -- Oscar Wilde// Pyrrhus-- Mark Merlis//The Scarecrow--Ronald Hugh Morrieson//Unnatural History--Kate Osman//Tunnels of Blood--Darren Shan//The Coffin Dancer--Jeffery Deaver//Hero--Perry Moore//Frankenstein--Mary Shelley//One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest-- Ken Kasey
#TPODG I feel like is obvious. But a genuinely hilarious book that is also poignant and tragic and so /so/ compelling#The more work you put into it the more you get out of it and I get so sad every time I see people#not wanting to look deeper than what's beyond the surface#Pyrrhus gets the extremely high honour of Greek Myth Retelling That is Actually Good#it's less about the Trojan War and more about the journey there set in the 1980s gay scene#the cursed spot that gets Philoctetes abandoned is an effective allegory right until the moment it isn't an allegory at all#and you should see the gut punch coming but somehow you don't#The Scarecrow is my Token Kiwi Representation and it's also the one that got me into the genre I now write almost exclusively#reading it feels like watching a cheesy low budget slasher that accidentally says some really interesting things about sexism and misogyny#(I say accidentally because it is the 20s and my tutor very loudly hated this book for being sexist)#(and I both totally agree and disagree because Prue is the prototypical final girl and needs an adaptation that does her justice)#Also the story of this novel's publication is freaking hilarious and why I will only write under a pseudonym because I would be next#Unnatural History is an exact blueprint of what I love about sci-fi done well in the way we've only very recently started to see on screen#and I hate that the show of Doctor Who rarely if ever reaches this level#Tunnels of Blood is my favourite of the Darren Shan Saga but really is just a stand in for the entire series#yes it's a kids series but it's a kid series that got me into horror and surrealism#and delivers the most effective and heartbreaking plot twist that not even Hannibal pulled off as well#The Coffin Dancer is just some damn good crime fiction and I wish Jeffery Deaver wasn't so slept on#(yes I know The Bone Collector got an adaptation but The Bone Collector isn't even in the top ten of the Lincoln Rhyme series)#unfortunately Deaver's strongest point is his use of point of view#but he still manages to get the twist to be shocking (and Coffin Dancer is the best example of it) in a way that other media fails at#Hero is about a gay disabled teen with superpowers and somehow tumblr does not know about it#It is such a fun riff on superheroes while also being genuinely sweet and touching and sad#It was meant to get a tv show but the writer passed so it got stuck in production hell :(#Frankenstein is Frankenstein. It's just good on like every level. Victor is my problematic fave. I will take no criticism.#I am however on my knees hoping the Guillermo Del Toro adaptation finally gets it right#one flew over the cuckoo's nest means so much to me but no one ever talks about it beyond the Ratched and Mcmurphy stuff#who are the least interesting characters to me. And I find the debate about the sexism ignores that the novel is about the structural abuse#of the mentally ill

I feel like someone who thinks AI art is real art (if not better than real art) would immediately fail a high school class analysing any single work by Haruki Murakami.
