How they deal with outliving you

Some angst I've been having on the brain; particularly for the characters that dont age/live for a long time + adding a new character to the base list!!

Obvious CW for loss of a loved one/partner + the grief that comes with it, cause of d3ath across all is by natural causes

S/o is mortal, of course

Slenderman;

Considering the fact that he's an ancient creature that's existed for lord knows how long, it was inevitable that he would outlive you

The concept of you one day being gone was something he already thought about before pursuing you romantically

I feel like out of all the ones on this list, he's the most calm about it, he isn't obviously broken up about the loss

That's not to say he doesn't care; he does. You were very likely his first love; and you will likely be his only love. It'd be a different story if your life was snatched away by someone else; but if it were something natural like for these scenarios, he grieves quietly. In fact, deaths in his woods temporarily slow down during this period

He has a designated area in the woods dedicated to you; flowers, pretty rocks, mementos, etcetera

He does 'guard' over your old home, for a while. That's likely the most drastic thing he'd do; he can't bare the idea of someone taking your place when the wound is still so fresh

Splendorman;

How ironic to add in this new character; someone so bubbly and sweet, with a prompt so... sad..

He doesn't handle it as smoothly as slenderman does; he's an absolute wreck. You were his absolute favorite person in the whole wide world, and just like that, you were gone

Is visibly wilted for a long time after your passing; only really putting on his usual happy face when he's needed

He cries, loudly, and he almost looks lost as he sits; almost as if he's awaiting your return

He understands mortality and the concept of death, but he never prepared himself for this

How could loving someone hurt so bad?

He talks about you to everyone who'll listen; both so he doesn't ever forget you, and so others can hear how amazing he thought you were

I like to think that when you were alive he gave you flowers... daisies, probably... he always keeps a daisy on him; either pinned to his coat or hat

Laughing Jack;

Denial

Denial. It will take him so so so long to finally come to terms that you'll never be coming back

He sprials; at first selfishly believing that you had purposefully abandoned him.. and given his past with being forgotten; he first responds with rage... before fully caving in on himself

Rumors are spread in town that your old house is haunted; thanks to Jack's howling cries

Hoards a lot of your belongings

It takes him a while to recover; and he's more irritable after all is said and done

Eyeless Jack;

This one's gonna hurt; because Jack is already gloomy and reclusive as is

Unlike the others, he's mortal; however he ages on a slower rate

So while he retained his youth he saw you change

After you're gone, he just

Sits in his cabin for a few days

He doesn't really leave unless his monstrous hunger gnaws away at him enough to prompt him to go into one of his feral episodes

I feel like he'd be similar to slenderman; in terms of the fact he will likely never love again

It feels...

Odd, for him to return to his lonely life, the one he had before you stumbled into his life

Some days he found himself wishing to relive the day he met you; or to wake up one day in your arms

As if this were all some long nightmare

But it never comes

Headcannons Slender 's Brothers

The lineage of the Faceless

▫️Kabadath had a younger brother. They lived in different parts of the forest, but at the same time they had a good relationship.

▫️Like Kabadath, the younger one also had a wife (they had only one child in their marriage – a Trenderman).

▫️Kabadath had a wife Miranda (in their marriage there were 4 children – Splendorman, Slenderman, Tenderman and Loverman)

▫️The oldest children can be considered Splendorman and Loverman – they are twins (Although Splendi is still a few minutes older than Lovera)

▫️Trenderman's parents died (mother died in childbirth, and father shortly after that). Kabadath took Trender under the care of his family and raised him as a native.

▫️Slenderman and Tenderman are twins. Despite the fact that they are twins they do not have a very good relationship

▫️The Offenrman appeared later than everyone else, because he is not 100% faceless. He was human. Splendorman found Off and saved him.

Jeff the Killer

Jeff and flattery don’t really mix, he’s not all too big on compliments as a whole. While he’s not always an asshole about them, most of the time he is. I’d guarantee he’d laugh in your face about it before pushing you out of his way to go on his not-so-merry little way.

Homicidal Liu

“Handsome?.. Oh.. I’m not so sure thats.. true. But- but regardless. Thank you.. for the kind words.”

Liu makes it a point to avoid looking at his face. Often times thats a point of self consciousness for him, so while he may appreciate the words you’ve said. He may be more uncomfortable because you’ve seen it first place. I’d imagine he’d pull his scarf up, and nod before walking around you.

Nina the Killer

Bubbly bubbly bubbly. Nina’s all for compliments of different types as long as they aren’t, ya know, weird! She’s bound give her signature sweet but purely friendly smile before heading off into another direction. Whether or not she truly takes in what you’ve said to her however, is a mystery.

Slender brother headcanons also with their proxies

Slender Bros Headcanons

Each brother owns a different forest that is near the general area of the main forest. This is subject, though, to a lot of different aspects. For example, Offenderman usually likes to live closer to urban areas, and has adapted to look like a street post. Trenderman likes cities and suburbs and will blend to look like birch trees. Splendorman is the closest to Slender in terms of living conditions.

Offenderman grows flowers in the forest. He uses his pheromones to lure people in and will attach the scents to the flowers.

Despite his name, Offenderman is quite considerate when choosing victims and people to become proxies.

Trenderman uses an old cottage for his base. He has a shop closer to the suburbs, and has his proxies dispatched there.

Trenderman is SUPER picky about his proxies, opting for fashion students and visual arts majors.

Splendorman is the least picky out of all of the brothers. Opting to live in solitude in his own mansion, he doesn't keep very many proxies.

Splendorman offered some salvation for Slenderman's residents, but keeps it secret to not fight with his brother. He focuses more on his own wellbeing than keeping others around him.

The brothers fight quite often, leaving each other bloody and bruised at times. This makes them all very territorial and possessive to those that they do keep around.

So far, Offenderman is the only one to produce offspring. (Although he doesn't really take care of them.) Their species is a dying breed, however, slowly dissipating into extinction. It's very hard for the other brothers to find a mate, at all to be honest.

Slender BY FAR has the highest turning point for proxies. Killing them off every day and replacing them with new ones constantly.

The second runner up is Offender, usually killing them off a few weeks to a month at a time.

Trender is third, usually opting to fire them over murder, but still opting to occasionally do the job.

Splendor is last, with the least amount of proxies and only using murder as a means to survive.

All in all, they all want to be like their parents. In love, with kids and a home to call their own. But it's least possible that any of them will achieve that, at least at the rate they are going.

Slender bros & Plantlife

Off topic from what I normally post but I got inspo and need to get it out.

So Slenderman lives in the forest right and he seems very connect to this forest; I’ve seen some art of slender using his tendrils to camouflaged into a tree. His brother Splender is always seen with flowers and Offender is seen with roses so what if his species were connected to and able to communicate to plants?

Seems to make sense across the board so here is some stuff that i came up with using this headcannon.

Slenderman

slender is mainly connected to trees

him being around trees causes them to grow taller than they would normally be

he can somehow communicate to the trees meaning he knows when anyone enters or leaves his forest

the proxys figured this out after the countless times his looming angry figure met jeff at the door after he went out to do “stuff” on a day slender specifically said not to

jeff is highkey mad at the trees for “snitching” on him and has kicked them in retaliation

Splenderman

splender is connected to any flowering plants

he has multiple big flowering trees that take days to clean up after the petals fall

has many smaller gardens that house variants of tulips, peonies, lilies, and hydrangeas just to name a few

plants will become more vibrant in reaction to splender

he walks around everything form large community gardens to small backyard personal gardens just to make people happier at the vibrant colors and success of the garden

Offenderman

Offender is connected to any plants with thorns

this means he is connected to mistletoe go figure

his 2nd favorite are roses first being pink and red tulips

Has a huge greenhouse connected to his house just for his plants

spends much time of his day watering his babies and even has a separate calendar on his wall dedicated to watering so he doesn’t forget

since all of his plants are covered in thorns and he walks around in mostly boxers and a coat his legs, as well as hands, are quite scratched up and rough

he started smoking green cigaretts and ones with seeds in them out of his love for his plants so he wouldn’t hurt them

plays music on the violin to his plants all the time they love it

Trenderman

Trenderman is connected to bushes

he has picked up topiary as a result

has multiple hidden wine cellars on his property guarded by these bushes

has gone to gardens and redone the bush work there at night just for something to do

will use his bushes in photoshoots he dose

takes about three days to trim all of his bushes when the time comes around because there are so many to do

has gotten full on hedges when he doesn’t have any other bushes to sculpt

like splender can sense when critters are nearby

had a small rebellious phase as a kid and instead of tagging buildings he would “redo” bushes he saw and no one, no one was going to stop him from doing so
