Fictive Dysphoria
When you feel dysphoric because you're a fictive and this body or life just isn't what it's supposed to be. This can overlap with other kinds of dysphoria, such as gender or species. It can be tied into your system's body and how it diverges from your own body. It can also be tied to how you may have lost skills or abilities, or how you may have different skills or abilities here. It can relate to how your mind works differently too.
I'm inclined to include outside factors as well (im not your supervisor so i can't stop you from including it anyways). Perhaps the life you were accustomed to was radically different. Or you miss lived ones. You might have held deep passionate interests or hobbies that just aren't a thing here. Maybe you had a job you really liked that's just not available to you anymore.
There are countless ways that fictive dysphoria can hit. The uniting thing is that there's dysphoria caused by an incongruence between your identity as a fictive and the life you now have.
(We use fictive here, but this can happen for factives, SoulBonds, tulpas, and I'm sure many others)
Is this a thing already and we missed it? I'm sure it's a thing a lot of systems struggle with.

It's odd to see an older post of ours suddenly spark back up in popularity, but while the small amount of attention is on us we may as well direct it towards something positive.
Hi, if you're here from the Soulbonding post I'd like to ask you to take some time to think about and appreciate them and their contributions to the plural community! Without the Soulbonders many things taken for granted now may never of been brought about or occurred within the endogenic and wider plural space.
From having a significant role in early plural history to popularizing terms now seen as generally plural like the word fictive, soulbonders have offered the community a fair amount. Sadly, in return they've been almost wiped off the map, leading to situations like having their terms used as an attempted replacement for tulpamancy as we discussed during the tulpacourse drama last year.
If you'd like to learn more about Souldbonding, we just recently discovered this well made carrd by @the-soulbonded-teaparty which compiles an extensive list of history, terms, and resources on the matter. It could teach you more than we ever could so we highly suggest checking it out.
Syscourse is currently a mess right now, so we hope this little offering can make some people on this site think about what exactly this community is and should be, especially in regards to the communities that have been or are being brought under the plural umbrella. We find that many subcultures like Tulpamancy, Daemonism, and Soulbonding are not well understood or appreciated as their own independent groups and practices within this community, with Soulbonding being an especially egregious example.
The individual identities of each of these subcultures are important to us, and they each have something truly special to offer as both their own entities and as forms of plurality if they so choose to identify as such. Take some time to appreciate them, and for everyone reading this, have a good day.

The soulbonding carrd!
Ahhh I finished it! Also, the history bit is just a quick summary, but since history is my passion- and the profession we're probably going into, I'll write an essay on it eventually.

Thirdpersonviewspace
[PT: Thirdpersonviewspace /END PT]
This term describes a headspace where headmates who access it see their body in the third person, People with this type of headspace have the same view as someone playing with dolls, not the visualization that fronting headmates have of the system body looking in the mirror. this isn't the same as dissociation since it's about the headspace, not in real life.
Attention: [PT: Attention /END ID] If you see other people claiming to have coined this, keep in mind that it was just posted without my consent and credits.
Tumblr media
[IMAGE ID: The image shows a black silhouette of a person standing in the center with their arms by their sides. The silhouette is enveloped in colorful waves, radiating outward and containing the seven colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. These vibrant hues are separated by white lines or areas, creating a dynamic and expressive atmosphere. /END ID]

Hi, there. I'm seeking more scholarly, academic or formalized information on endogenic plurality. Could you recommend books? Thank you.
We don't know of any books, but there are academic articles on endogenics!
General Articles:
Enacted Identities: Multiplicity, Plurality, and Tulpamancy: It's talking about plurality, but is heavily focused on the non-traumagenic sides of the community.
Multiplicity: An Explorative Interview Study on Personal Experiences of People with Multiple Selves: One endogenic system took part in the study, and the researchers discuss their overall findings and the possibility of some sort of hereditary component to some systems.
Dissociation and Transformation: Talks about the possibility of dissociation being a symptom of good health, rather than always pathological.
Dissociative Experiences in the General Population (pdf): Surveys a city for dissociative experiences, and found that at least some spontaneous dissociative experiences may be due to endogenous factors.
Alterity: Learning polyvalent selves, resisting disabling notions of the self
Differences Between Trance Channeling and Multiple Personality Disorder on Structured Interview: Compares trance channeling and MPD (what is now called DID), and concludes that differences in experiences may have to do with whether they're trauma-based or not. (Channelers aren't necessarily endogenic, but it does go into why despite having multiple identities, trance channelers don't have DID. This may be relevant for some forms of spiritual endogenic plurality.)
New Age 'Channeling' and Theories of Dissociation: Applying a 'Structural Dissociation of the Personality' Model to the Case of Jane Roberts: A really good thesis comparing a famous channeler (Jane Roberts) with dissociative identity disorder. (Channelers aren't necessarily endogenic, but it does go into why despite having multiple identities she didn't have DID. This may be relevant for some forms of spiritual endogenic plurality.)
Soulbonding:
The illusion of independent agency: Do adult fiction writers experience their characters as having minds of their own?
Uncharted features and dynamics of reading: Voices, characters, and crossing of experiences: Many readers seem to hear the voices of the characters they're reading about in books as they're reading it, with a rare few even hearing their voices even after they're finished reading.
Most Authors Can 'Hear' Their Characters' Voices Talking to Them, Survey Reveals: Up to 63% of authors hear their characters talking to them, showing that this is a fairly common phenomenon.
Tulpas/Thoughtforms:
Tulpas and Mental Health: A Study of Non-Traumagenic Plural Experiences
Varieties of Tulpa Experiences: Sentient Imaginary Friends, Embodied Joint Attention, and Hypnotic Sociality in a Wired World
Learning to Discern the Voices of Gods, Spirits, Tulpas and the Dead: compares and contrasts tulpamancy and other communities centered around voices, spirits or disembodied entities
Hopefully this helps! If any of our followers know of any books talking about endogenic plurality (or any other resources in general) please feel free to add on!

hey sorry for the bother we're the people who sent that ask to sophieinwonderland abt divination and we wanted to ask if you'd been down to offer like. advice, or something? since you mentioned you guys got good results and stuff. no pressure ofc, sorry if this is uncomfortable or anything! /gen
Some plural pendulum divination advice? Sure!
- make sure to ask what your yes and no is, especially if it's your first time with the specific pendulum. It can vary from pendulum to pendulum and even from system member to system member
- a good warmup exercise to make sure your pendulum is working is to will it into a circle with good rotational weight, ask your yes and allow it to swing yes, ask it to return to neutral and allow it to return, ask your no and allow it to swing no, then return it to neutral once more. If you can do that then it's a good chance your reading will be fine
- if you're doing the drop method make sure you have a place to stabilize your arm on so the shakiness doesn't mess up the reading
- If you're looking to get responses from a certain system member, try charging the pendulum with things that remind you of that member, as well as meditating on the connection between you and channeling that feeling into it.
- We have a few different pendulums for different magic-using frequent fronters! Different members might have more or less luck with different materials or feel drawn to different tools.
- if you're especially spiritual, don't forget that while the pendulum is a divination tool, you're still communing with it and using it as a proxy between you and another member. It still has its own unique energy and presence, so consider its own flow as well as that of whom you're trying to communicate with.
(if anyone's reading this without context, while this is written with metaphysical intent, the tips here should still work regardless of the origin of the member or personal belief in spirituality. If your belief is that of using the pendulum as an inanimate tool to trigger subconscious responses from purely psychological-based system members, then these should still work just as well.)

A while ago I posted a server interest check for a metaphysical kin server. That server is now active.
--21+ --metaphysical/spiritual kin and fictives --lightly moderated-- no long topic/word blacklist --no irl political discussion --no discussion of kin/fictives from a mental health standpoint --no fandom wank (fandom talk fine, fandom politics bad). --primarily but not exclusively geared toward villain kin and fictives. --2012 skype community vibes
If you're interested in this server, please reach out to me with an ask (off anonymous) with your discord handle and a little bit about why you'd like to be part of the server.

Bex: out of all the things to argue about I get mad this morning that Bill didn't show concern for me accidentally choking myself while taking meds. Like, it was a stupid reason for me to be upset (Bill actually was kinda asleep anyway, and was confused) but I hate being in fights.
I got over it quickly, but Bill went quiet over something else. I feel so bad. I didn't mean to hurt him, but I was scared and then I dunno...
Currently been feeding him hot chocolate under blankets to comfort him. I want him to know no matter what we fight about, I won't leave him or stop loving him.

Coming out of retirement to talk about something real quick, hopefully this post only. We're staying out of the tulpa discourse now, we said our piece, our views, and nothing has really changed on any side since except more pain caused. That said we'd like to address a new alternative term being tossed at tulpa systems which is just so not cool.
No, Soulbond/Soulbonding does not exist to replace tulpamancy and shows a real lack of knowledge on Plural history. These are entirely seperate communities with well over a decade to each of their name, multiple decades for Soulbonding, and Soulbonders have already had so much taken from them.
Soulbonders are one of the first endogenic plural communities to form into a significant group and have no connection to the CDD community up until cross pollination between the two communities back around 2003. Soulbonders are what the tulpamancy community might call a writers tulpa, when an author or superfan interacts and thinks about a character enough in such a way that it induces a state of plurality and the character becomes a headmate. The how's for this vary but the early communities had a big mix of psychological and spiritual beliefs for this, ranging from explanations similar to what we'd call a tulpa all the way to multiversal brain travel.
Soulbonders have their own unique plural subculture, and they've been hurt by syscourse probably more than any other endogenic community since they were here from the start, from the empowered multiplicity days, and sadly got wrapped up in it. Unlike daemonism or tulpamancy their communities nowadays are barely extant beyond some tumblr blogs. We personally can't find any still active forum or modern internet community for them. They have basically been eliminated as an independent group and absorbed into the general haze of the endogenic community, losing much of their own identity.
Regardless of your current stances, please don't take away what little the Soulbonders have left, remember their community and don't just slap their name onto the tulpamancy community of all things.

Know what I hate? Having to tell people I'm single when in reality I am in a polyamorous relationship with two wonderful people but I can't just openly say it because they're known as fictional characters in this world and it would only come across as me simping or having husbandos instead of actual romantic partners.

soulbonds & other metaphysical origins of headmates don’t eliminate your ability for your plurality to be disordered. they’re not mutually exclusive experiences and i’m tired of folks acting like they are.

So fucking glad that soulbonding is being talked about more!!
We sometimes wish that we had discovered the broad plural community much earlier, but if we're being honest, it wouldn't have lead to our syscovery happening earlier I don't think. Like, I think the events that happened in our life that lead to our syscovery kinda had to happen in the order that they did, or else Moxie wouldn't have had the wherewithal to say hi when she did.
But with soulbonding, oh fuck! After our syscovery and diving into the plural community we could tell right away that soulbonding was what we were doing like 10-15 years ago. And if we came across the concept back then, I think we would have identified with it. I wonder if the connections we made back then would have stuck around. I wonder if we would have embraced it and in turn identified our system as a whole.
And we are absolutely here for soulbonding to make a come back/regain popularity. Hell just calling Ny a soulbond feels really good. Talking about day trippers makes so much more sense to us than other terms for "visitors" we have. Being able to distinguish between the experiences of soulbonds and other introtives is so fucking cool to us.

Would anybody have any interest for a source call / canon call blog oriented towards spiritual and metaphysical fictotypes?
It wouldn't have to be strictly spiritual, would be for mixed origin / uncertain / unlabeled as well, as long as the calls are interested in meeting those with metaphysical connections to their types.
Would be open to any source, "problematic" or otherwise.
