hey i love your work so much! im so glad there’s people writing for this lovely character

i was wondering if you could write about him meeting one of Chris friends, he is very intrigued by her but can’t find her anywhere after that brief encounter, one day Dalton is supposed to pick up Chris after class but since he arrived quiet early decides to explore the area since he doesn’t come to that side of the school often, one of the classrooms is open and there’s piano music coming of it and is the reader. They have a proper introduction and Dalton tries to be brave for once and ask for her number, little did he know chris was watching him and let’s just say the way back to the dorms she was teasing him about the girl.

Music To My Ears

Meeting new people never came easy for Dalton. He was very shy and reserved, but so loving and kind to his friends. Which is exactly why the most outgoing and confident person he’s ever encountered adopted him almost immediately after they met.

Right now, he was hanging out in his dorm with Chris, his best friend. They were currently watching dumb scary videos on her laptop with a big bowl of popcorn between them. They had been doing that for about an hour, an hour they were supposed to use to do their homework but whatever awful and fake scary video they could find on youtube was surely more entertaining than that. Most of the time they were not scary at all, sure there were a few screamers here and there but the rest of it was just a bad story, bad editing and even worse acting.

Their focus was 100% on the screen, until Chris’ phone made them both jump. She paused the video and picked up her phone, typing a few words before putting it down again.

“Everything okay?”

“Yeah, I’m just waiting for someone”

“Oh, so you double booked me?” He asked, acting offended.

Chris rolled her eyes and pushed herself off of the bed “Your acting is worse than the guys on the videos” Now he was a little offended “No, she’s just here to return something”

Chris walked across the room and opened the door, not all the way but enough for Dalton to see someone standing outside. A girl.

“Hey” Chris said, and Dalton could see the girl smile “How did it go with the presentation?”

“Hi! Really good actually, piano skills really do transfer over to this thing” She was holding Chris’ Melodica before giving it back.

“See? Told you, if I can do it you for sure can”

“Yeah, thank you” She smiled again and looked at her hands while she played with them “I cleaned it too so don’t worry”

“Oh I’m not worried” Chris joked and both of them chuckled.

“Alright, thanks again. See you on friday!”

“Any time, see you!” She said before closing the door. Dalton quickly grabbed his phone and pretended to pay full attention to it “Now what? Should we keep watching or should we be responsible students and do some work?”

“There’s only 11 minutes left of this video, we’ll stop after this one, I promise” Chris agreed and went back to bed, where they ended up staying for another 2 hours.

Dalton couldn’t stop thinking about the girl. He wanted to ask Chris about her but he couldn’t possibly, what was he gonna do? Talk to her? Probably not, but if she and Chris are actual friends then he would for sure run into her again, right?

A week went by and there were no signs of the mysterious girl, not even on Friday, when she and Chris were supposed to see each other. But Dalton figured he would rather stay curious than be embarrassed.

It was Taco Tuesday and it was their special tradition to eat a lot of tacos after class. Dalton’s class was dismissed early so after dropping his things off in his dorm, he made his way to pick up Chris from the Math building. Once he got there, he checked the time and realized that he was a little early. He's not really familiar with that part of campus, going there every once in a while and only for a few minutes to wait for Chris, so walking around exploring for a bit while Chris’s class was over seemed like a good idea. He started wandering around, peeking at a few different open classrooms but not seeing anything interesting, he deduced it was just like any other part of campus. Plain and boring.

He was about to turn around and return to his original spot, Chris was about to come down anyway, but before he could start walking, a beautiful melody caught his attention.

He looked around for a moment, trying to figure out where it was coming from, finally seeing an open room he didn’t see before, a sign with the words ‘Music Room’ above the big doors. As he got closer, the piano melody got louder. It was like a force was dragging him to that room, it was like his soul needed to see who was playing the piano so beautifully.

He stood outside, going in carefully as to not disturb whoever was playing there. The song kept going and Dalton could almost recognize it, it was so gracefully played it made him understand why someone would dedicate their entire life to music. As he got closer, he identified the person behind the large piano, he saw the girl that made him go crazy just last week. He felt his heart rate go significantly higher, debating on his mind if he should leave or talk to her.

When the song ended, Dalton decided to go for it. I mean, who knew if the universe would give him another chance to talk to her? It was now or never.

She was about to start playing a different melody but was interrupted by a voice she has never heard before “That was beautiful”

She looked up at the person standing in front of her “Thank you” She was used to strangers complimenting her talent, it happened to her all the time, but thinking that he was listening to her play made her really nervous.

“I’m Dalton by the way” He introduced himself and found his way next to the piano.

“Right, I remember you” She smiled “You’re Chris’ roommate”

“I am, yeah”

“Y/N”

“Y/N” he repeated her name, slowly. Almost as if he was tasting every syllable “Nice to meet you”

“Nice to finally meet you, Dalton. Chris tells me a lot about you” Dalton knew his face was burning, there was no hiding it, and he was a little embarrassed by it “I take it your artistic self draws you to music”

“Well, I was just walking by and I heard you play so-” He didn’t wanna sound like a creep, the last thing he wanted was for her to think that he was stalking her. She didn’t think that, but she wanted to mess with him anyway.

“So… you interrupted my sacred rehearsal”

“I didn’t- I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt you- your rehearsal uh- I guess I should get going— oh, you’re kidding. Okay”

Y/N burst into laughter, wishing she had a camera to capture Dalton’s terrified face. Something about him made her feel some kind of way, a good kind of way “Do you like piano?”

“My mom plays the piano”

Y/N raised her eyebrows in amusement “Do you play?”

“Just a little bit… but you’re like a professional so in your eyes not at all, I suppose” Y/N chuckled.

“Show me”

Dalton’s eyes widened, no way she just asked him to play piano for her “What?”

“Yeah, do you know any song you can play for me?”

“Uh- Just this one song my mom wrote years ago”

“Go on then, play it for me” Y/N scooted over a little, making space for Dalton to sit next to her. Dalton looked at her unsure of what to do, not wanting to make a fool of himself “You just heard me play an entire song, it’s only fair”

Dalton let out a nervous laugh, but sat next to her on the stool. He was nervous and he was having a hard time remembering the right notes, but after a minute of staring at the keys he finally started playing. He didn’t play much, he didn’t remember much of the song and even if he did, he wouldn’t know how to play it. But Y/N loved every second of it.

“That’s all I can remember”

“Well, tell your mom she’s very talented” She said, not looking at him “And if you can remember the rest of the song, I would love to hear it sometime”

Dalton paid attention to their hands, they were really close to each other. And after building up the courage he asked her “Can I have your number? You know, just in case I have to show you the rest of the song”

“Yeah, just in case” Dalton pulled out his phone and handed it to her “Text me” She said typing her contact information on his phone and then giving it back.

“I will” Dalton looked at his screen, admiring her name on his contact list. Then a notification appeared on top.

Chris: Sorry I made you wait, but I’m going downstairs right now

“Uh- sorry, I have to go, but we’ll talk later” Dalton said, standing up and walking to the exit.

“Okay, I’ll be waiting for your text” She smiled at him again.

They waved goodbye and he left that room behind, his heart was racing and his hands were sweating, he couldn’t believe he asked for her number. As he approached the building, he spotted Chris standing there waiting for him “Sorry, something came up” He said, gesturing to her to start walking.

“What? Miss music over there?” Chris said pointing at the music room.

“What are you-?”

“Yeah, I saw you coming out and Y/N always practices there when it’s empty. Plus, I saw you eyeing her the other day”

Dalton blushed again “I wasn’t-”

“Don’t even try. I told you, your acting sucks”

Dalton sighed “Chris, please don’t-”

“Don’t worry, I’m not gonna say anything… But I bet she already knows”

“What?”

“I mean, I think she can tell when someone is flirting with her. Or at least trying to”

“Hey, I’m great at flirting”

“We can ask her” She said, pulling her phone out of her pocket.

“Stop, please” Dalton took it from her hands and put it back in her pocket. He didn’t think she would actually ask Y/N, but just in case.

“Aw, you’re properly in love” Chris said with a fake british accent.

Dalton rolled his eyes and kept walking, pretending not to care about the teasing but his blushed face giving him away.

“It’s okay,I’ll keep the secret. She gave you her number didn’t she?”

“For your information, I asked for it”

“Oh, go Dolphin!”

After their taco date, Dalton went back to his dorm and planned to call his mum. First of all, he hasn’t called her as much as he promised he would and second of all, he wanted to ask about the song.

“Hey sweetie” Renai said on the other line “It’s so good to hear from you, how have you been?”

“Hi mom, I’m okay, what about you? How is dad?”

“We’re great! Busy getting his things back into the house. How’s school?”

“School is good. Uh- listen, is there any way you can teach me the song you wrote for dad?” He asked, it didn’t go as smoothly as he had planned.

“You wanna learn my song?” Renai sounded confused, which made sense considering Dalton stopped asking questions about her music years ago.

“Uh- yeah. Well it’s been a while since I’ve heard it and I can’t really remember much” He chuckled in hopes of making the situation less awkward.

“Mhm” She hummed “I’m gonna pretend I believe you’re just genuinely curious about the song and that you don't have ulterior motives”

Since You’ve Been Gone (i’ve been falling apart)

Summary: It’s been a week. It’s been a week and Patton’s not sure how much longer he can take this. Content: Worry, mentions of sleep deprivation + nightmares, some crying, Roman and Patton betrayed me to lip-kiss so that happens once Pairing: Royality Notes: This is the amos minific for @art-chive who requested any ship with the prompt "I've been falling apart (without you)" // "You know i'll always be there to catch you". I hope this suffices!

Patton wasn’t doing okay. Patton hadn’t been doing okay for a few days- if he was being honest, Patton hadn’t been doing okay for a week.

Because it was on Sunday that Roman had disappeared into the Imagination, off to fight some villain or find some figment, promising Patton he’d be back Monday. Patton wouldn’t even notice he’d been gone, Roman promised, to which Patton replied he always noticed when his prince was away. And Roman had laughed and kissed him and told him he’d be back soon.

And now it was Monday. Not the Monday Roman had promised he’d come back, no- the Monday after that one.

So Patton wasn’t doing okay.

At first, he had been fine. Worried, but fine. It wasn’t exactly unlike Roman to be back a day or two late, so when Roman didn’t show up when he said he would, Patton had managed to convince himself all was fine. Roman was just running a little late, that was all.

And then Tuesday had come and gone, Roman still nowhere to be found, and Patton was officially worried.

The others had tried to help and distract him, with board games and movie nights and family dinners and any other activities they could find, but it only worked so much. They couldn’t stop Patton from constantly glancing towards Roman’s room, waiting for his prince to emerge, couldn’t stop Patton from getting distracted by his own thoughts of where Roman could be, couldn’t stop Patton from missing him no matter what they were doing.

The days were hard enough, trying to stay in the moment and focus on Virgil and Logan and Janus instead of Roman and Roman’s room and Where Was Roman, but the nights were worse by a mile. His bed was empty and cold, and it was always his- normally, he and Roman would switch off who’s room they slept in night per night, but now, it was always Patton’s bed- always Patton’s Roman-less bed.

And now… it was Monday. A week since Roman should have been home, a week since Patton should’ve been able to hug Roman and hold him and kiss him, a week since Patton had last been doing anything close to okay.

Patton wasn’t sure where the others were, but he didn’t care either. He hadn’t cared about anything much since Saturday. He was tired, restless nights spent tossing and turning and looking for a warmth that wasn’t there until he woke up sweating and shaking from nightmares trying to tell him why that warmth was gone having drained him of what little energy he still had. He was tired and he was lonely and he just wanted Roman to be home.

Right then, he was curled up in an armchair, sipping at tea that had long since gone cold. He had made it in an attempt to warm himself up, but it was the wrong type of warm and it did little good against the numbness in his chest. He knew he should move, go to his room and get some work done, but he didn’t want to move. It was easier to sit and wallow and think about how the chair was made for one but it was so much nicer to sit in with two.

Before he could try and force himself to get up, however, Patton was drawn out of his thoughts by the sound of a door opening. He glanced back towards the hallway, but he couldn’t tell what door had opened. It was probably just one of the others.

But it could also be-

Flighty, useless, head-strong hope fluttered in his chest and Patton pushed himself out of the chair, dropping his cold tea on the coffee table as he headed towards the hallway. Despite the fact that he knew it was unlikely, he couldn’t help but entertain hope, entertain the thought that it was Roman, that it was Roman and he was okay and he was here and he was home and he was-

Lost in his thoughts, Patton didn’t notice the book on the floor, likely left there by Logan or Janus. His foot caught on it and he tripped, unable to catch himself as he headed for the floor…

...but he never hit it.

Instead, arms, warm arms, familiar warm arms caught him, wrapping underneath his own and giving him back the balance he had just lost. Above him, the owner of the arms chuckled, a sound that was still as musical as it was the first time Patton had heard it, even more so now. “I know that you’ve fallen for me, dearheart, but that doesn’t mean you have to do it literally.”

Though by then Patton knew who it was that was holding him- he’d know his prince anywhere and anytime- he still jerked his head up, desperate to be sure, to know this wasn’t a trick or a dream or a nightmare. But it wasn’t, and Roman was there, smiling softly and charmingly and looking a little dirty and a little tired but he was there, he was really there and holding Patton and Patton was holding him and he was there.

Patton threw himself at Roman as well as he could, arms wrapping around Roman’s chest and holding him as close as possible, burying his face against Roman’s neck and trying to take in as much of every single aspect of Roman as he could, as if letting go for even a second would cause him to vanish like a mirage. Roman returned the embrace barely a moment after Patton had initiated it, cradling Patton and allowing him to hold as close as he wanted.

“Hey, sunshine, it’s okay.” Roman murmured softly, teasing tone replaced for one that was tender and caring. He started to move his hands over Patton’s back, trying to soothe him, and Patton realized he had started shaking. “I’m here, I’m okay, we’re okay.”

“I’ve been falling apart.” Patton blurted out, meaning to make it a joke, a pun, a play on his fall, but he couldn’t do it, because it was true, he had been falling apart and he had been so worried and afraid and lonely without Roman and-

“Oh, come now, Pat,” Roman said, tone light yet sincere, “you know I’ll always be there to catch you.”

And despite the fact that Roman had clearly meant that to be comforting, Patton still started crying. Not because he was upset, of course, but because Roman was here and close and Roman was going to catch him every time he fell and really the only proper response to all the pent up fear and worry and sudden happiness was to sob into his beloved’s shoulder.

“Oh, shh, it’s okay, love, you can cry, it’s okay, come on, let’s sit down, okay? I love you, it’s okay, you’re okay, shh.” Roman said, continuing to softly reassure Patton even as he moved them over to the couch. The minute they were seated, Patton shifted so that he was in Roman’s lap, still holding tight to Roman as he continued to cry and Roman continued to comfort him.

Eventually, Patton sobs died off, and he pulled away from Roman’s shoulder. Roman smiled at him once more, all charm and soft edges. “Hey there, teddy bear.” Roman said, eliciting a small giggle from Patton. “How are you feeling?”

Patton didn’t answer at first, instead choosing to hold Roman’s face in both his hands, cupping his cheeks and looking over his face as if he was trying to memorize it forever. “I missed you.” He said, simply, knowing that Roman would hear all the hidden meaning behind those simple three words without him having to explain them.

Roman placed a hand over one of Patton’s. “I know, sweetheart.” He said apologetically. “I got caught up fighting some nightmares and lost my way. I didn’t mean to worry you so.”

“You should’ve taken someone with you.” Patton said as he leaned forward, pressing a kiss against Roman’s forehead. “Virgil would’ve been willing to go if you told him you really needed his help.” He kissed both sides of Roman’s face. “Logan still has his spear from the last time he accidentally got caught up in the Imagination.” He moved his hands so he could kiss Roman’s cheeks too. “I would’ve come if you had let me.”

“I know, I-” Roman laughed a little as Patton kissed his chin, “angel, you know I can’t think when you’re kissing me.”

Patton kissed Roman’s nose. “I have a whole week’s worth of kisses to make up for.” Patton told him, pausing for a moment so that he could tuck a stray strand of Roman’s hair behind his ear, staring into Roman’s eyes while he was at it. “No offense, honey, but I’m not going to stop so that you can think.”

“Oh, so cruel, lovebug.” Roman teased before he leaned forward, using the fact that Patton had been distracted by his eyes to steal himself a proper kiss. As soon as he realized what was happening, Patton returned the gesture, arms moving to wrap around the back of Roman’s neck as he kissed back, trying to make up for every kiss he had lost while Roman was away.

“I’m sorry I was gone so long.” Roman said when they finally broke apart, Patton resting his forehead against Roman’s, still holding him close.

“I know.” Patton told him, pressing a quick kiss to the corner of Roman’s lips. “And I forgive you. Just… don’t do it again?”

Roman’s arms tightened where they were wrapped around Patton’s waist. “Never.” He promised, tone solemn, and Patton nodded, content as he turned his head and rested it against Roman’s shoulder, letting out a small yawn as he did so.

“Good.” He said, snuggling against Roman, ignoring as his prince chuckled.

“I think it’s bedtime, for you, my heart.” Roman said, shifting his hold on Patton so that he was cradling him against his chest as he stood. Patton didn’t have any protest, only snuggling in closer to Roman’s chest as he began to drift off, sleep finally willing to return peacefully to him now that Roman was safe and Patton was the right kind of warm. He didn’t even need to open his eyes to know Roman had taken them into his room, the familiarity of it not having faded in the week Roman had been gone.

He did stir, however, when Roman placed him down on his bed and retreated. Almost immediately, Patton was sitting up blinking in the dark room and reaching out blindly for Roman. “Roman? Baby? Don’t leave me please-”

Someone caught one of his hands, holding it in theirs, and Patton calmed, leaning towards Roman as he got into bed as well. “Hush, love, it’s alright, I just had to put your glasses away.”

Patton nodded a bit but, in all honesty, he didn’t care why Roman had been gone for a moment, only caring that he was there now. He once more pressed against Roman’s chest as his prince laid them both down, holding Patton and allowing him to cuddle as close as he wanted.

Although it was light, Patton could feel Roman plant a kiss against the top of his head, murmuring, “There you go, darling, it’s alright now. You can rest. I’ll still be here when you wake, I promise.”

And knowing that was one promise nothing could stop Roman from keeping, Patton relaxed against him, falling asleep surrounded by the warmth he hoped he’d never have to miss again.

It wasn’t the thunder outside that woke you up. It was never the thunder. If anything thunder was soothing to you, even if you were only eight years old. But it was the creak of your bedroom door that roped you in consciousness. The timid voice of your brother moving softly through the space.

“Y/N?”

“What is it Dean?”

“The thunder. It’s too loud.” The small four year old whimpered, jumping slightly when another round rattled the house.

“You wanna sleep in her with me?” You mumbled sleepily, getting your response when you heard small feet quickly move across the carpet before he dove under the covers besides you.

“Why aren’t you scared of it too?”

“Because Im not scared of anything.” Sighing you rolled over, trying to fall back into the middle of the dream you were having.

“Really?”

“Yes, really. Now go to sleep.”

. . . That didn’t happen, because not five minutes later you heard Dean speak up again.

“I can’t sleep. The rains too loud.”

Letting out a groan you rolled over once more, flinging the covers off of you as you slid out of bed. “Come on.” You held out a hand, waiting for Dean to take it.

“Where are we going?”

“On an adventure, what else?”

There was a pause before you felt him latch onto your hand, and then he was sliding out of bed besides you, looking up at you with his big green eyes.

“We gotta be quiet though, okay?”

“Okay.”

You navigated the darkened hallway with ease, Deans hand still gripping yours as you descended the stairs. A flash of lightning lit up the living room as you entered.

“What if we get caught?” Dean whispered, looking back up at you through the dark as the two of you entered the kitchen.

“We won’t. You wanna know why?”

“Why?”

“Because were ninjas.” You smiled, suddenly hoisting your little brother up onto the tabletop. His small legs kicking lazily over the edge as he watched you.

“We are?”

“Uh-huh.” Nodding, you slightly you pushed yourself up onto your tiptoes and reached across the counter for the dented pie tin. Only one slice of apple remained- but that was more than enough. Grabbing that along with two forks you moved back to Dean and pulled out a chair, using it as somewhat of a stool to help you climb up onto the table.

“Do ninjas eat apple pie?”

“I think so. Why wouldn’t they?” You shrugged, lightly tapping your fork against his as you split the piece with your brother. His eyes lit up once again and before you knew it his cheeks were full of apple filling.

Good. Your plan had worked. He wasn’t thinking about the thunder storm anymore.

“Next time can we be cowboys though?” Dean spoke through a mouthful of crust. “I like cowboys better.”

“Sure, as long as I get to be your sidekick.”

“Deal.”

You held out your free hand, pinkie extended. “Pinkie promise?”

“I pinkie promise.” It took him a moment as he juggled with the fork and then his small pinkie wrapped around yours.

“What do you two think you’re doing?”

The sudden and new voice was followed by a click as the light above the table switched on, both of your heads whipping around in surprise.

“Hi, Mama.”

Sure enough standing in the doorway to the kitchen was a very pregnant Mary Winchester, her golden curls falling over her shoulders like a waterfall, her arms crossed.

“I believe it’s past both of your bedtimes the last time I checked?” She mused, her soft and familiar smile crossing over her features as she stepped into the room.

“The thunderstorm was scaring Dean-“

“So she took me on an adventure! Don’t tell Dad!” Dean suddenly blurted, his words slightly muffled by the amount of dessert in his mouth. His eyes widening when he realized how loud he had been.

You watched your mothers eyes narrow before she raised an eyebrow. “Hmm- I won’t tell him. . . As long as you share some of your findings with me.”

You paused to share a look with Dean before he nodded. “I guess we can allow that.”

With that you passed over your fork to your mother, the woman slowly sinking down into the chair you had pulled out earlier. “Now, what type of adventure was it tonight? Pirates? Knights?”

“It’s a secret.”

“A secret? Oh well you can trust me. I’m good at keeping secrets.” Mary whispered back, her elbows on the table as she leaned forward, taking a bite of pie as she did.

Dean was quiet for a moment before he leaned forward. “Ninjas.”

“Ninjas? Oh well that is exciting.” She nodded, the same soft smile from earlier still on her lips. The three of you sat in the kitchen until there was nothing but crumbs in the pie tin and then she was ruffling the hair on both of your heads.

“I think it’s time my little ninjas went off to bed now, isn’t that right?”

You slowly nodded before sliding back onto the floor, the cool tile making your toes curl as you helped Dean down. “Can I sleep in Y/Ns room tonight? The thunders still too loud.”

“As long as it’s okay with your sister.”

You gave him a small nod as you rounded the table, standing on your tiptoes to place a kiss on your mothers cheek. “Goodnight, mama.”

“Goodnight you two.”

Mary’s smile came back as she watched you extended your hand to Dean, his own quickly moving to latch onto your again. “C’mon Dean. Let’s go to bed.” She shifted in her seat so she could rest her forearm on the back of the chair, the two of you darting off silently to the stairs and off to bed. . .

I must go alone Cause I need you there So my memory of home is full

The force in which you awoke from your sleep was enough to make the chains tethering you to the wall rattle, your head slightly snapping back to collide with the cold metal, the impact making you wince.

“Fuck.” You gave a tired groan as you rolled your shoulders- well at least as best you could. A yawn came shortly after as you allowed your head to rest against the wall. Just a dream. . . Or memory. Dream memory? Was that a thing?

You let out a sigh as you felt your heartbeat slowly begin to find its steady rhythm again, eyes shifting tiredly to the bindings on your wrists and the length of chain that shackled them to the wall. That shackled you to the wall.

Shoot. You forgot about getting yourself thrown in here. . . Then again you did have a hobby for getting on the bad side of your keeper.It was like timeout. . .a very uncomfortable timeout.

Shifting as much as your bindings would allow you tried to get more comfortable. Your butt was numb from sitting in the same position for so long, but there wasn’t really anywhere else to go. You let yourself sink back into your previous position, your arms having lost all feeling awhile ago from hanging for so long.

It wasn’t the first time you had gotten yourself thrown in the cell, and if anything; at this point you were just doing it for the sheer amusement. You had to get your entertainment from somewhere . . . Even if that did mean annoying the hell out of some demons.

The silence that had surrounded you was suddenly broken though when the massive door to the old train car rolled open, light splitting through the darkness as the wheels squealed in their tracks revealing a shadowy mass.

At this point anyone else probably would have screamed and cried or pissed their pants. . . But this was practically just another Tuesday night for you, so you grinned.

“Manah. I thought you were never gonna come visit me. You really shouldn’t leave a gal waiting.”

“And I was hoping by this point in your career you would have known better than to disobey orders.” She tutted, deep red eyes locking onto you tightly.

Career. You huffed with a roll of your eyes. That’s not exactly what you would call it.

The demon in front of you was known by most as Aka-Manah. Birthed from zoroastrian legend she had a knack for controlling others, using them like puppets- like she had been doing to you since what felt like forever. She was the same one that snatched you away from your family, along with a pair of particularly nasty hell hounds. You had the scars to prove it.

You called her the Puppeteer because that’s exactly what she was. She snatched people up from their families and made them do her dirty work. Usually it was children, they were easier to work with. Manah liked to stay in the dark, keep her hands clean. Her acolytes as she called them (you being one of them) were her fighters, her killers. . . And because of it you had so much blood on your hands. innocents and guilty alike. She pulled the strings and you did the dance. You still had your own thoughts and control of your own mind, but it was your body she used. Her finely tuned weapon capable of cutting down anything she wanted gone.

Manah towered above you, tall and long limbed, in a black dress that dropped off her hips and hung loose around her calves, her straight red hair shifted slightly in the breeze coming from outside as she moved to pull at the silk gloves around her hands. She seemed annoyed. . . Angry even. After years you knew how to read her.

A smirk crossed your lips as you tilted your head slightly. “Aw, are my baby brothers causing you and your demons trouble again?” You knew you hit your mark when her jaw clenched. Of course you knew your brothers were still out there, whispers of the famed Winchester brothers passed through thin lips often around here. Manah wasn’t fond of them, they killed so many of her demons that she often took it out on you. This was gonna be one of those times.

Your words got you a harsh slap across the cheek before she knelt down in front of you, your cheeks squeezed between her thumb and forefinger. “You best hold your tongue. I got a job for you.”

“What kind of job? Because like I’ve said a thousand times over you vile skank; I’m done doing your dirty work.”

She squeezed harder much to your irritation. “Oh you know that’s not true. You, my darling Y/N, are my swift and terrible sword. . . And you are far from done.” Using her free hand she fished into the pocket of her dress, producing a thin silver chain, a rams head charm hanging from the center.

Your face fell along with your shoulders as you shook your head. “No. Please don’t.”

Manah ignored you, snapping the necklace around your neck. It was her way of controlling you, as long as the necklace stayed on she held power over your body. You couldn’t take it off yourself, the magic it was laced with prevented it.

“Now, it’s time we got those pesky siblings of yours off the playing field, don’t you think? You’ve constantly asked me to allow you to go back to you family, well here’s your chance darling.”

That’s all it took for you to realize what she was doing. She was sending you after your brothers, and Manah didn’t take prisoners.

Archangels and Mutants Pt 2

Raphael x Nephilim!Reader

Summary: Your horizon of what was out there spread a bit more with each encounter with Raphael. You were flattered that he wanted to help you, but you didn’t need to be protected and you most certainly did not need to be told what to do.

A/N: Just these kids back at it. My angel knowledge is vast so welcome to that. I love your feedback so far. :)

Walking home from one of my night classes, I caught a glimpse of a shadow following me. I debated whether or not I should take off or not. It was a nice thing about being a Nephilim, I could take off whenever I wanted to, and being cramped up in the city for college had left my wings with something to be desired. I was planning on taking off the weekend to head up the mountains so that I could stretch them, but it was Tuesday, which is slightly more depressing than Mondays.

I kept walking, however, turning off my music but keeping my headphones in. I could hear my surroundings, but they didn’t know I could. The shadow still followed me, never gaining ground to get to me, always on the rooftops. I was tempted to look up, but I knew if I did, I would scare my stalker.

Instead, I called April.

“Hey,” She answered sounding distracted. “What’s up?”

“I think there’s something stuck to my shoe.” I doubted that she would recognize the phrase, but I was proven wrong.

“Is there anywhere you can go that they won’t follow.”

“I just got out of class and I think I picked it up there. I don’t want to track it across the carpet in my apartment.” I chose my words carefully, knowing that I was being watched.

April didn’t answer for a moment, and I could hear a few voices on the other end arguing with each other before I got an annoyed April back on the phone.

“Where are you?” A different voice spoke on the phone, gruffer, familiar.

“I’m fine Raphael,” I said calmly.

“Bullshit. Where are you? I will have Donnie track your phone.” He threatened.

“I’ll ditch it.” I snapped back. “I’m not a child. I can handle myself.”

“You don’t know what’s out there, Y/n.” His voice angry but I could hear the fear underneath.

I scoffed and gave in.

“Sullivan. By the park.” I bit my lip and kept walking.

“Stay in the park.” He ordered.

I rolled my eyes and hung up, making my way to the edge of the fountain and sitting on the edge, stretching my wings into the fountain, still keeping them camouflage. What you would consider the equivalent of stretching your legs out after a long car ride. Harmlessly scanning the skyline, I didn’t see my aggressor, but I knew he was there, I could feel the malicious intent in his mind.

I turned my music back on and got lost in the rhythm and melodies. It stayed like that for a song or two until I got a text from April.

A: I see you, you’re safe

Y/n: I don’t want to lead them back to my place. They’re still here. And did you steal April’s phone?

A: How do you know? And that’s beside the point

Y/n: I just do.

A: That’s helpful

I could almost hear the sarcasm. I smiled at the text. I swept the skyline again, and something changed I could see Raphael’s silhouette in the distance. Frowning, I saw two silhouettes on the same roof with him... and that was all that I was able to make out. I didn’t know if there were more.

Y/n: You have company...

I hopped off of my perch of the fountain and casually made my way to the building that he was atop of.

A: What are you doing!?

Y/n: Saving your ass. Again.

I pocketed my phone and scaled the building easy with the help of my wings. And just in time too.

“Raphael!” I shouted and materialized a golden dagger that I threw out towards a looming shadowy figure.

I hated using force, but I had to. The turtle stared at me in awe for a moment before recovering and dropping into a battle stance, matching Sai’s in his hands, a wicked smile on his face as he turned to our adversary.

The back clad soldiers held no importance to me. I didn’t know who they were, why they wanted me, nor why they followed me. Raphael barely let me do anything, more protecting me than fighting along-side of me, which got on my nerves a bit. I was just as capable of fighting as he was, I just didn’t like to do it. I was a healer.

I was shocked to see the men in black turn out to be nothing but metal and wires; they had emotions, feelings that I could track, ones of malicious intent, but still emotion. Struggling to figure out what they were, I missed something that Raphael said until he shook my shoulder and asked again, drawing me from my thoughts.

“Are you okay?” He asked sounding slightly annoyed.

“Yeah, thanks.” I gave a tight smile. “What about you?”

He chuckled. “I don’t need any of your mojo if that’s what you’re askin’.”

“Fair enough.” A grin stretched across my face.

“No offense, but what the hell are you?” He looked me up and down.

I could understand his confusion. He saw my vessel: taller for most my age, in a weird balance of not being overweight, yet never a hope of being a size two cheerleader, short cropped hair, big y/e/c round eyes, and what I guess by the number of advances I got from girls and guys alike, a pretty face. I could change my vessel looks at will, but I was comfortable with who I was now.

But he had also seen the part of me that wasn’t my vessel. My healing ability, and a very a tiny amount of my fighting power.

“Nephilim,” I supplied. “My mother father is human, my mother, an archangel.”

He stared at me, wide-eyed and I grinned.

“What’s the matter, cat got your tongue?” I drawled.

He recovered soon after that and rolled his eyes.

“Pfft. No.”

“Mhmm.” I wasn’t convinced, cracking a smile. “Thank you,” I glanced to the downed

robots behind us. “What are they?” I was fascinated as much as I was terrified. “The kraang.” He spat out venomously. “I can’t imagine why they were after you though...” He searched for an explanation that wasn’t there.

“Maybe they know...” I offered. His eyes flashed to mine. “That I’m...”

He gave one nod.

“You need to talk to the guys and Splinter. This could be something completely new. Something we need to see coming.” His tone had changed from teasing, to angry, to strategizing.

“I have to go home.” I cut in.

“No. You’re not staying out here alone.” He shot back.

“I am capable of handling myself.” I sneered. “I don’t need your protection.”

“You don’t know anything.” He spat as we glared at each other. “You’ll get killed.”

I snorted. “I highly doubt that.” I reminded him who and what I was with a golden flash of my eyes.

He growled at me, stalking up to me, but I wasn’t afraid, instead, I was just as ready for a fight as he was.

“You think you can take me, little girl?” He snarked.

“Any day. Pet.” This time I did unfurl my wings, letting them stretch fully, spanning fifteen feet on either side of me, glowing a faint gold, to match my eyes. “Come at me.” I threatened.

I could see the indecision in his eyes as he took a half step back, still growling slightly. He seemed less hostile than before, less anxious to fight. But I knew that was my doing. Just as I could feel the emotions of others, I could influence them. An Empath is the word the humans had come up with.

“Whatever.” He snapped. “Do what you want, I’m outta here.” Turning, the turtle disappeared into the night, along the rooftops of the city.

2 Years Later (An Andi Mack Fanfic) Part 1/4

Pairings: TJ Kippen/Cyrus Goodman, Jonah Beck/Cyrus Goodman, Jonah Beck/Andi Mack, Andi Mack/Amber, Buffy Driscoll/Marty From The Party, Bex Mack/Bowie Quinn

Word Count: 4,790 (for parts 1 and 2)

[please read this I worked on it for ten hours straight]

With the school year finally coming to a close along with the never ending drama of middle school, the GHC found themselves at the last minute of their graduation ceremony. When Principal Metcalf gave his final goodbye to the students, he signaled the graduating eighth graders to stand up and walk back down aisle of the auditorium. The students were each wearing proper clothing to comply to the dress requirements. The boys were wearing blue, white, and grey polo shirts with a tie around the collar, and all the girls wearing different colored dresses and skirts. Unfortunately, there was assigned positions, so Andi, Cyrus, and Buffy were not anywhere near each other.

When they reached the end of their dismissal, Andi, with her light purple skirt being blown away by the wind, searched through the crowd of graduates and their families to try and find hers. She stood on her tip-toes to see if she could spot Bowie’s curly brown hair peeking up amongst the mob. Alas, she was unsuccessful in finding her parents. Andi’s dark copper eyes fell gloomily on the ground below her. But suddenly, a hand grasped her shoulder from behind, startling the young girl.

“Hey, kid!” Bowie exclaimed, he and Bex enthusiastically surrounding their daughter with a bouquet of flowers. “Congratulations! You’re officially a high schooler now!”

“Dadddd,” Andi whined and stuffed her face into her father’s chest while laughing. “I don’t want to be called a high schooler just yet.” She rolled her eyes up at Bowie who chuckled and glanced over at Bex.

“Wait, where are Cyrus and Buffy?” The professional make-up artist asked. “I thought they would have met up with you by now.”

Andi unwrapped her arms from her father. “Oh right! I gotta go find them! See you guys later!”

Bex and Bowie wrapped an arm around each other’s waist tightly, their bodies immediately warming from the touch.

“Don’t forget to meet us at the Spoon when you find them!” Bex called out to Andi who was running in and out of the swarm of other students. She turned back for a brief moment to meet Bex’s eyes before shifting her head forwards again.

Bex leaned into Bowie’s ear and whispered, “she’s growing up way too fast.” Bowie nodded solemnly and gave Bex’s hand a squeeze in comfort.

Meanwhile, Andi was almost sure that her childhood friends had left until she spotted them on a bench in front of their middle school. The short-haired girl sped over to them, flailing her arms to get their attention.

“Hey!” She yelled. “We did it guys!”

Cyrus and Buffy jumped off the bench and ran to hug their friend. The three teens wrapped their arms around each other in a group hug. They were very emotional, and their eyes had already started to form tears.

After a few moments of silence, the three now-high schoolers separated.

“The Good Hair Crew has finally ended one of their longest chapters, and will now be starting a much bigger, and longer, journey!” Cyrus spoke proudly as if he a news broadcaster. Since it was a special day, Andi and Buffy decided to let him call them the “good hair crew”.

The three of them laughed until another unknown voice spoke from behind them.

“Congrats, guys! You’re all going to join me in the high school next year.” The unknown voice belonged to none-other than Jonah Beck, the newest and honorary member of the GHC. They each greeted Jonah with a friendly wave.

“Oh, that’s right, we’re finally going to be in the same school again Jonah,” Cyrus happily gave his green-eyed friend a bro hug. “It feels like it’s been forever since we’ve seen you in the hallways.”

Andi nodded in agreement, smiling for a little bit too long at Jonah. Next to her, Buffy was looking down at her wrist to check what time it was.

“Guys, we’ve got to get going. We had the biggest table at The Spoon reserved for us and we can’t be late.” Buffy informed the group. They stopped their chatter and obeyed her, the four teens walking down the sidewalk into town to eat at their favorite restaurant of all time.

After a short period of time, they arrived at the front of The Spoon. Andi pushed open the door, and the small bell hanging above the door rang softly. The four teens filed into the diner, their eyes scanning the diner to find their table.

To their surprise, Amber was currently working her afternoon shift and excitedly made her way over to them, smiling in relief as if she had been saved from a horrible punishment.

“Oh thank god you guys are here,” The blonde-haired waitress exaggerated her voice for dramatic effect. “It’s really been one of those days.”

“Yeah I know what that feels like,” Andi sighed, recalling all of the times when she had to deal with nonstop family drama between Bex and CeCe. “Anyway, we reserved a table for around eight people.”

Amber raised her eyebrows curiously. “What’s the occasion?”

Andi shared a knowing glance with Buffy and Cyrus. “We just graduated from Middle School,” the girl with the short brown pixie-cut haircut announced. Andi gestured to her best friends.

“Wow congrats,” Amber complimented. “And your table’s right over here.”

During the entire conversation between Andi and Amber, Cyrus’ focus was elsewhere. He had been staring down at his phone for a while, anxiously waiting for a response from TJ. He had asked for the billionth time if TJ was coming to their graduation celebration. A month back, TJ had initially agreed to attending the get-together when Cyrus asked him. Yet, he was nowhere to be seen.

Not only were the past few weeks leading up to the eighth grade graduation stressful all on its own, he had another contributor to his anxiety. Cyrus’ friendship with TJ had been on thin ice quite recently, with the costume day incident a few weeks back, along with the swingset incident when Cyrus saw TJ and Kira on the swings together, but what truly threw Cyrus over the edge was that just last week, he had seen Kira and TJ holding hands. The dark-haired boy felt his entire heart crumble within just those few seconds. It was as if everything he cared about had been thrown onto the ground and immediately shattered into a million pieces.

What Cyrus didn’t understand was why, why did he feel like it was a crime for TJ to be with Kira? It’s not like TJ was doing anything wrong or illegal.

Yet, Cyrus remained feeling as though he was being ignored by TJ nowadays. Sometimes Cyrus wished he had seen the full truth, that maybe there was a logical explanation, but Cyrus’ mind never allowed him to think rationally, and the moment he had seen Kira’s and TJ’s fingers intertwined, Cyrus ran as far away from them as humanly possible and found a place to hide behind a building.

That day was one of the worst days of Cyrus’ life, after he saw them together, he cried for what had seemed like forever. Any feeling of worth or happiness was gone, his body seemed hollow, completely empty. Cyrus remembered returning home late at night to his parent’s dismay, since he hadn’t called or texted them the entire day, but when they saw his tear-stained face, they immediately stopped their scolding and comforted him.

“Hey, Cy-Guy,” Jonah turned Cyrus’ attention away from his deep thought process. “You’ve been intensely staring at your phone for 10 minutes dude, Ambers showing us to our table now. Are you okay?” The green-eyed boy gently placed a hand on the other boy’s shoulder.

Cyrus swatted Jonah’s hand off of him. “I’m fine,” he said in a low, cold voice, avoiding the hurt in Jonahs eyes. Cyrus wiped the wetness from his face as he walked over the large table in the back room. Jonah and Buffy shared a worried look with each other as they followed.

The dark-haired boy sat down in a chair at the far end, with Buffy sitting down next to him on his left. Cyrus took out his phone again to check his messages. Or rather, at the very least, see if TJ had read them. The dirty blonde-haired boy hadn’t responded to any of Cyrus’ texts since around the middle of May.

ChocolateChipMuffin: I’m done.

Cyrus aggressively pushed his phone back into his pocket and set his head down on the table so nobody else could see his despair. Bowie and Bex, who were sitting on the opposite side of the wooden table, raised their eyebrows.

“Hey, what’s wrong with-“ Andi shushed her father. Bowie turned to face her, and Andi shook her head as to say “now is not the time”. Fortunately, Andi’s young parents went back to chatting about famous old films from the 90’s.

Jonah, who was sitting in between Buffy and Andi, turned to the short-haired girl and whispered, “do you know what’s going on with Cyrus?”

Andi shrugged. “I think Buffy knows more but- TJ has been ignoring Cyrus since May I think.”

Jonah’s eyes widened. “You’re kidding!”

Andi quickly held a finger up to Jonah’s mouth. “Shush!” Andi whisper-shouted. “Not so loud!”

Jonah felt a weird feeling rising from his chest due to Andi’s finger lingering on his lips. Oddly enough, he felt a twinge of sadness as she took her finger off of him.

Weird, Jonah thought. He brushed off the strange feeling and turned his attention back to the issue at hand.

“What happened exactly?” Jonah asked. “I doubt TJ would just stop talking to Cyrus for no reason.”

Andi sighed. “Yeah, well, something did happen. He and Kira started hanging out more.”

Jonah rotated his head to the side. “So..?”

Andi raised an eyebrow in confusion. “What do you mean, ‘so..?’ Cyrus 100% likes TJ, and he saw them holding hands. You are so oblivious, Jonah.” She chuckled and rolled her eyes. “You have definitely never changed.”

Jonah took slight offense to Andi’s comment and dramatically gasped. “What do you mean?”

Andi lifted her eyebrows sarcastically. “Seriously? Jonah when we were dating all those months ago, you were quite oblivious to other people’s feelings.”

“I am? I legit had no idea.” Jonah felt awkward for not realizing how other people’s feelings were impacted by him. “I’m sorry if I ever hurt you.”

“Don’t worry, everything’s fine now.” Andi glanced over at Jonah. “Honestly, I miss all those crazy times when we didn’t know how to act towards each other.” She gave him a crooked grin.

Jonah giggled quietly. “You mean that time when I gave you a freaking gnome?”

Andi held the side of her face and laughed. “Oh god I remember that. And the rice with my name misspelled? Who could ever forget that?”

The two exes laughed at their strange behavior of the past. When their giggles settled down, their eyes made contact once again.

“Do you ever wonder what would have happened if we had still been together?” Andi asked.

Jonah shrugged his shoulders. “Who knows honestly. All I’m glad for is that we have grown from all of that.” The green-eyed boy’s deep dimples were displayed through his wide grin.

“Me too.” Andi couldn’t help but wish she and Jonah’s relationship had worked out. She hated that she missed one of her more dysfunctional relationships. Yet, Andi wanted nothing more but to hold the dimpled boy’s hand again. She missed having a crazy crush on the smiley frisbee team captain.

“Uh, Andi?” Jonah broke Andi out of her thoughts. “The baby taters are here.”

“Oh! Right. Cool.” Andi quickly reached out to the large basket of baby taters placed in the middle of the long table and grabbed a few.

Meanwhile to the right of Jonah and Andi, Buffy had been keeping watch over Cyrus, whose head had still not left the table. The dark-haired boy was silently crying for a very long time, and Buffy could not stand it. But the curly-haired girl was absolutely certain that the literal moment she saw TJ’s face, she would tear him apart. Buffy was and has always remained the bodyguard of the group, if anyone hurts her friends, they would have to answer to Buffy’s wrath. And she knew she would have to go through detention afterwards, but to her, it would be worth it.

Once the baby taters had been set on the table, Cyrus finally lifted up his head, but his eyes still remained fully on his phone which was peeking out of his pant pocket. Buffy took notice of the dark bags under his eyes, along with the tear streaks that went down his entire face. She immediately felt the need to hug him.

“Still no word from TJ, huh?” Buffy ensured that her voice was gentle. “I am really sorry, Cyrus.” She rubbed circles on the boy’s back.

Cyrus shook his head and turned to Buffy. “What about you? Have you heard from Marty since the marathon incident?”

Buffy sighed and shook her head. “Sadly, no. But I’m pretty sure it’s because he feels horrible for letting me faint during the end of the marathon.” She tightened her lips. “I think that Marty was blaming himself for what happened but I couldn’t get the chance to tell him that he did nothing wrong. So now I think he’s giving me space because ‘he doesn’t want to hurt me again’.” She exhaled a long breath.

Cyrus laughed. “At least you know he still cares about you.” He gazed back at the floor, firmly gripping his hands together. “I haven’t been in touch with TJ for so long.” He inhaled a shaky breath.

“Buffy, why does this always happen to me? Nobody I love ever loves me back.” Tears were now gliding down the young boy’s face, his nose sniffling to keep from running. He shifted his head to look at Buffy in the eyes, and she had never seen her friend’s face so red in her entire life. Buffy quickly wrapped her arms tightly around her friends trembling body. The rest of the table had already gotten up from their seats and started to crowd around Cyrus and Buffy. Jonah and Andi were beyond upset on their friend’s behalf. Jonah couldn’t stand seeing Cyrus like this, and for whatever reason, he envied Buffy, he wanted to be the one to hug Cyrus and tell him that he was going to be okay.

Cyrus had begun to sob, letting out loud agonizing cries that echoed throughout the entire room. Buffy whispered kind and comforting things into his ear as she continued to rub small circles on the dark haired boy’s spine.

After a few minutes, the cries that escaped from Cyrus’ mouth had eventually started to simmer. So, Buffy carefully pealed her arms off of her friend and met his eyes.

“Cyrus, I want you to know that whatever you are feeling right now, it’s going to end. Don’t worry. You are going to meet a fantastic guy who’s going to never EVER leave you. I promise, Cyrus.” Buffy reassured her friend, not even paying any attention to the many other people who were watching them, she only focused on her friend in need. “And whether or not you meet that guy today or in two years, you’re going to find him, Cyrus. You will.”

The dark brown-haired boy smiled warmly, mouthing a “thank you” to Buffy. He wiped the tears from his eyes and took a few baby taters from the basket.

“Wow Buffy,” Jonah said as he sat back down, “you’re really good at comforting people.”

Buffy shrugged with a smirk. “I have my ways.”

After an hour or so of the group chatting amongst each other and exchanging jokes plus finishing their meal, Bowie handed the check to Amber.

“Hey!” Bex grabbed Bowie by the shoulder. “I am not letting you pay for all of this.” She crossed her arms across her chest.

Bowie chuckled and turned to face his fiancée. “It’s my treat, babe.”

Bex rolled her eyes and smiled. “What am I going to do with you.” She grasped Bowie’s hand.

Andi alerted her parents from behind them. “Hey! Stop flirting, we all want to go hang out in Andi Shack together.”

Bex and Bowie laughed. “Sure, hon. We’ll go get the car,” Bowie pulled Bex away as he waved to his daughter and her friends.

Andi turned to Jonah, Cyrus, and Buffy. “Let’s go sit on the bench while we wait for them.” She suggested.

They walked over to the bench and squeezed their bodies together so they could all fit, but it was cramped and much too uncomfortable so Cyrus stood up. He laid his back against the bricks of The Spoon and watched the sunset in the horizon, a beautiful red, orange, and pink combination of colors illuminating the sky.

The Good Hair Crew sat in comfortable silence as they watched the birds settle into their nests, stores start to close up shop for the night, and the sky slowly become darker by the minute. It was then that they truly realized an important chapter in their lives had closed, and a new one had just opened. Everything around them including themselves was at peace with the world.

That is, until they heard a loud buzz sound coming from inside Cyrus’ pant pocket. The dark-haired boy rushed to grab it, saw the name of the contact, and nearly dropped it from the amount of shock, and reread the name of who sent the text.

TJ Kippen.

Cyrus stared at his phone and his mind drew a blank due to his shock.

Buffy rolled her eyes and got up to grab the phone. “Oh for Pete’s Sake, what does it say?!” She grabbed the phone and read the text message aloud. “‘I’m sorry’.”

Buffy scrolled through the rest of the conversation. “That’s it?!” She yelled, returning the phone to a frightened Cyrus. “That’s all he freaking says after ruining your entire MONTH?” Buffy was ready to snap the tall dirty-blonde haired boy’s neck in half. “I swear if I see his damn pale-ass face I’m gonna-“

“Uh, Buffy,” Jonah interrupted, his eyes so wide it was as if he had seen God himself, “You might want to look behind you.” He pointed a finger to something behind Buffy.

Buffy turned to see Cyrus staring at something while jaw-dropped, and then saw none other than the tall basketball player himself, TJ Kippen. He was wearing an unzipped brown jacket with a grey sports shirt, and had some worn out trousers on. In the dirty-blonde boy’s hand, everyone saw he was carrying a basket of two muffins, one blueberry macadamia, and one chocolate chocolate chip muffin. In his other hand, TJ was holding his phone close to his heart.

TJ’s face was glowing from the multicolored light shining in the sky. His eyes were sparkling from tears, his nose and cheeks stained red. He slowly walked over to Cyrus, the other boy feeling the weight in every step he took.

part ii

Remus sits in Lily and James’ tiny living room and tries to ignore the subtly laid out pillow and blankets set on the corner of the couch. Lily doesn’t let him.

“Your apartment has flees.”

Remus sets his glass down, “That was one bug and it was a beetle.”

Lily twists her hair over one shoulder, unrelenting, “Remus. Please.” She nods towards the pillow, “Just—I’m worried. We’re worried.”

Remus looks away so he doesn’t have to see the way James nods, they way they’re both looking at him like he’s already a lost cause. He wishes for a moment he’d never told them what he does other than serve pizza and take the early shifts at the gas station around the block, but then he’d be all alone in it. And they were his best friends, that was why he had told them. Just in case one day all of James’ fears came true and some guy murdered Remus in a hotel room. Or something.

James sighs, “Mate, we’re not ganging up on you.”

“No, I know.” Remus nods down at his mug of tea, “I know. I just…I don’t want to be that friend you can’t get rid of. Like. That would be awful.”

“Re, you’re never going to become that.” Lily puts a warm hand on his shoulder, squeezing, “That’s not how we think about it at all. We just want to know your safe.”

James raises his mug to his mouth, “As safe as you can be…”

“James.” Lily snips, then her face turns soft again for Remus, “Will you stay here?”

“Lils, really, my apartment is fine.” He curls his feet further beneath him, “I’ll finish my tea and go. Don’t worry.”

He thinks back to his two night hotel escapade and shakes his head more firmly at Lily. He already feels enough like a charity case as it is. Even if he did get good money for it. Sirius had pushed an extra eighty dollars into his hand at the door and closed it before Remus could protest. He had pressed a chapped kiss to his cheek too. Remus was still mulling that over.

When he finally does make it out of the apartment he pulls his ratty coat tightly over his shoulders and ducks his head against the wind. He could probably buy a new one if Sirius called again. He did ask for two nights in a row, and it went great so, maybe. But he didn’t want to be flashy about any new money. His landlord had already raised his eyebrows when Remus had handed over two months rent in advanced.

His apartment wasn’t flea infested although it did give off that sort of look. He had a cheep futon bed frame, just to keep his mattress off the floor so it didn’t mold, and a dresser from IKEA. His kitchen consisted of a stove and a sink. The gas was usually pretty iffy and his sink ran mostly cold, like his shower, but…he had a roof and food. It’s fine. He has James and Lily if he was really, really in trouble but he doesn’t want it to come to that. He’ll never want it to come to that.

He throws his keys down on the dresser and goes to check the leak under the sink. It hasn’t gotten worse but he empties out what water is in the bucket just while he’s there. He re-tapes the crack in the window and makes a note to ask his landlord about that. Again. He’s just sitting down on his bed when his phone rings. He groans and closes his eyes when he pulls it out, hoping it isn’t one of his less polite customers. He sighs in relief when he sees the name.

“Frank, hi.” Frank almost never wants sex. He likes to talk. He’s lonely. Remus can relate. He’s the son of two wealth-soaked parents who don’t pay him a lick of attention. Remus can half relate. “How are you, mate?”

“Oh. Hi, Remus. Wasn’t sure I’d get you, um. I’m fine. I—um. Was wondering…” He trails off.

“Sure, when were you thinking? I’ve got something Tuesday and Sunday and you know when I work, so…”

“Actually, I was thinking now?” His voice is up an entire octave with nerves, “I just…Family problems right now. Was hoping to just talk a bit.”

Remus runs a hand over his face but tries not to pause too long. He doesn’t want Frank to think he doesn’t want to, “Sounds great! Should I meet you at the—“

“I couldn’t get the usual room. It’s 207 tonight. Same hotel though, the Pierre.”

Remus nods, tries to keep a smile in his voice, “Great. See you soon.”

He’s barely hung up when another name flashes up at him. He’s almost embarrassed by how fast he answers, “Sirius. Hi.” That didn’t come out anywhere close to how he wanted it to.

“Remus! Life is good?”

Remus laughs lightly, still caught off guard but warmed by Sirius’ simple honesty, “Uh, yeah, life is good. How are you?”

“Good. Busy. Always busy, you know? I’m at airport now, going to be in town on Wednesday. You want see together? Or, ah, not together.”

“Each other.” Remus supplies.

“Yes, perfect. You always know. What you think, Remus?”

Remus half wishes Sirius would stop saying his name like that and half wishes he’ll never stop saying his name like that, “Yeah, that works for me. What time were you thinking?”

“Seven? I get us dinner in room, so don’t eat. I’m, ah…” Sirius lets out a soft laugh and Remus presses the speaker closer to his ear, “I’m think about you a lot.”

Remus swallows over a suddenly dry throat, “Yeah?”

“Hm.” There’s a loud speaker in the background and Sirius says something low in Russian, “Flight calling me. Wednesday okay, yes?”

“Yes. Have a good flight.”

“You too. Or—“ They both laugh, “Okay, I’m go now. Bye, Remus.”

The line goes dead and Remus lets the phone fall to the bed. He breathes in deeply and looks down. He’s half hard in his pants now and he really doesn’t know why. He’s suppose to be on his way to Frank’s, he tips well, he honestly needs Remus a little bit and…fuck. He splashes some freezing water on his face from the sink and yanks his door shut as he leaves.

Frank’s is fine. The hotel room is nice and Remus ends up sucking him off—twice. He doesn’t get hard either time but Frank seems either completely fine with that or he doesn’t notice. Ready for what? Remus wants to ask.

He goes to sit on one of the couches and strokes his hands over a soft pillows while Sirius pads back to the shower, dropping his towel without closing the door. For a second, Remus debates on whether he can consider that as an invitation or not. He stands up twice and sits back down before the water shuts off and he sits again. Sirius emerges a second later, grabbing the towel from the floor to wrap around his waist and another for his hair. He rubs at his hair until the waves fluff around his ears and into his eyes. He smiles over at Remus somewhat guiltily.

“Sorry again. You want look at menu?” Sirius flips open a sleek looking suitcase and starts rifling through it, “Starving. Airplane food most bad, you know?”

Remus doesn’t but he’s not about to start that conversation. Instead he reaches for the leather-bound hotel book, “Where did you come from?”

“Sydney, ah…Hard for me to say.”

“Australia.”

Sirius laughs and pulls a loose fitting pair of sweatpants on—bare, “Yes, right.” A white long sleeve shirt follows and—to Remus’ surprised delight—a black snapback. It sits snugly on his damp hair, pushing the front part back out of his eyes while the rest wings out above his ears. Remus can see the shape of his ring necklace through his shirt. He swallows. Sirius looks good.

He pulls some warm looking socks on and Remus glances briefly at the hole in the heel on his own left foot. The couch bounces a little as Sirius settles next to him, leaning in close to look at the menu, “Good food? What you like?”

Remus tries to read the menu, he really does, but Sirius’ arm is thrown over the back of the couch and his fingertips are brushing over where he sweater gives way to skin. He holds the menu out to Sirius, “You decide. I’ll eat anything.”

Sirius gives him a teasingly disapproving look but takes the menu and reaches towards the side table for the phone. He orders too much. A steak, fries, a plate of brisket ravioli, a cheese board, a salad, calamari, and two slices of chocolate cake. Remus doesn’t know where they’re going to put it all, but he hopes maybe he can take some of it home.

“We do tea later,” Sirius reaches out and fans one of Remus’ curls between his fingers. “After.” He amends, “They say thirty minutes.” Then his fingers are lightly brushing Remus’ hip, just beneath his sweater, “We stay busy while wait. Is okay?”

“Yeah.” Remus breathes, because what Sirius doesn’t know is that he got off to the mere memories of what they did last time every night leading up to now. Sometimes twice. Of course it’s okay. He’s never had a job this fucking okay, and he’ll damn sure make the most of it until Sirius moves on. They always do. Remus usually feels more grateful when they do, but he has a feeling Sirius will be different.

Sirius flashes him a grin and tugs him right into his lap. His lips are warm and chapped against Remus’, but the rough texture is nice. Remus feels like it keeps him there, in Sirius’ arms. He runs his tongue across Sirius’ bottom lip just to feel it and is rewarded with a soft sound and a palm to the small of his back. Sirius, who seems to be able to take Remus aback in almost everything he does, is holding Remus close, chest to chest. Not by the hips, not by the shoulders. Remus has never had any problems with abuse and he’s lucky in that way but Sirius, Sirius isn’t holding him like he’s there for sex at all. He’s cradling Remus in his lap, hands running lazily up and down his back. He’s licking into his mouth like they have all the time in the world, like they’ve been kissing forever and they’ll do it tomorrow, and tomorrow.

Remus’ palms cup his jaw and he runs his fingers along the edge of the snapback.

“You want off?” Sirius’ voice sounds like he’s just woken up.

Remus shakes his head and his eyes slip closed as Sirius’ mouth moves to his jaw, “No.”

Sirius’ warm breath against his neck as he laughs softly almost feels better than the wet kisses he’s leaving there. Almost.

They stay like that until the knock on the door makes Remus blink his eyes open blearily, suddenly aware of how warm he is.

Sirius shifts him to the side gently, kneeling on the couch for one last peck, “I’m get food, relax here.”

Remus blinks at him, licks his kiss-swollen lips, and honestly just wants to ask Sirius why he is like this. He rests his head back on the couch and listens to Sirius’ bright voice chatting away to the bell boy who brought their food. He’s thanking him, telling him how good it all looks, and Remus thinks maybe he’s just this nice to everyone he meets. He isn’t sure what to do with that.

“Hey,” Sirius head pokes back through the door, cart trailing him, “Food.”

Remus isn’t going to say no to that.

The spread of food looks even bigger when laid out and Remus can’t help but laugh as Sirus sits down next to him again, “Sirius, this is…a lot.”

Sirius shrugs one shoulder, “We don’t finish, you take home.”

Remus isn’t going to say no to that, either. He has a brief moment of wondering whether ordering this much was purposeful on Sirius’ part, but pushes it aside. That’s ridiculous. Sirius doesn’t even know him, much less anything about his financial situation. Well. He might know a little given who they are to each other.

Remus spends most of the meal listening to Sirius try to explain some funny story that happened on his trip, and anticipating the occasional moments of being fed bits of steak and such by Sirius, who barely breaks in talking despite how it takes Remus’ breath for a moment.

“I spend lot of time in hotel, you know?” Sirius’ voice breaks into Remus’ thoughts, mid story. He wished he’d been listening fully to know how to respond.

“I, ah, lonely?”

Sirius shrugs, but shoves a large scoop of pasta in his mouth. Remus takes that as a yes.

“How did you…” Remus searches for the right word before trying, “find me?”

Sirius actually pinks a little at that, “Ah. Friend. You know him. Recommend. Say you very sweet.”

Remus nods and respects the anonymity even if he’s dying to know who, “Sweet, huh?”

Sirius smiles a little, “I’m think so, too.”

They move onto the cake and the hotel had sent up an two extra desserts, seemingly just because Sirius is Sirius.

“I’m stay here lot, they know me.”

“Probably because you order the entire menu anyway.” Remus jokes.

It makes Sirius’ entire face light up, spreading his hands, “Hey, why not? Hungry after long day of flying.” He knocks his ankle against Remus’, “Good food, best company.”

Remus rolls his eyes a little and Sirius snorts. That shouldn’t be attractive, but it is.

“You live here always?” Sirius asks through a bite of cheesecake, “London?”

“Yeah, always.”

“Born here?”

Remus nods, “Yeah. I live a few streets over from my parent’s flat.”

“Must be so nice.” Sirius is smiling, but his eyes are down at his plate and he looks a little mournful. His fingertips not holding his fork are twisting the ring around his neck, “Be near family always.”

Remus takes a bite instead of answering. It had been nice. For a while.

“Not…Not nice?” Sirius says softly, “Sorry, not want to bring up bad things, Remus—“

“No. No, it’s okay. It’s fine, I just…yeah, I don’t really talk to my parents much these days.”

Sirius places a warm hand on his thigh, thumb rubbing on the inside slowly. But it isn’t sexual. It isn’t even verging on sexual. It’s soothing and warm, and it makes Remus want to keep talking.

“Not since I came out.” He finally manages, “To them. They weren’t…” But it turns out that’s all he can say on the matter.

“Make you feel better…” Sirius wets his lips, “Parents not know. Mine, I’m saying. Scared to tell, not good thing in Russia.” He gives Remus’ thigh a little squeeze, “I understand. Remus, it’s—it’s most brave.”

Remus blinks hard, “Yeah.” He doesn’t know why he’s sitting here having this semi-melt down with Sirius. Sirius definitely isn’t paying for this. He’s probably annoyed with him under all his kind words and so Remus snuffles and digs his palms into his eyes, trying to wipe the tears away and the redness that’s probably there both. There’s nothing really to do to make this not an awkward transition. How do you go from tears to sex? And with a stranger? “I’m sorry.” He begins, “Fuck, this—was not what I had planned.”

“Remus, it’s not apology—no, okay?” He’s suddenly pushing the food table away and tucking his legs beneath himself, sitting on his socked-heels and taking both of Remus’ hands, thumbs rubbing gently against the vulnerable insides of Remus’ wrists, “I’m not mind, really. Really.”

“I’ll take this out of your pay. Honestly, Sirius, this isn’t what you brought me here for, I just want you to know that I know that.” Remus can’t help it though, and despite his words curls his fingers around Sirius’, “Sorry."

“Please stop saying, Remus.” Sirius tone is firm, “Please, you—not an apology.” Even the word ‘apology’ sounds nice in Sirius’ mouth.

“I…make okay? A bit?” Sirius tugs very lightly on Remus’ hands but when Remus shakes his head he—he lets go. Which Remus can’t decide how he feels about that.

“Sorry.” He says again, then at Sirius’ face, he pushes a hand through his hair, “Fuck, sorry—Sor—“

And then Sirius is kissing him. His thumbs are stroking slowly along his cheeks and he’s sucking Remus’ bottom lip slowly into his mouth, brushing his tongue along it with the same amount of leisure. Remus sighs into it, fingers digging into his own thighs for a moment before he’s leaning forward and pressing his palms flat on Sirius’.

“Only if want.” Sirius says against his mouth, “Remus.” He pulls away just enough to look at Remus’ glassy eyes, “You not want a second ago, I’m just want no more sorry. No, ah, not need to do anything, okay?” He curls his fingers back around Remus’ ears, around the curls there, “карамель, can just put movie on. Have more cake.”

Remus sniffles a little, blinking hard at Sirius, “Did—Did you just call me caramel?” He remembers the soft word from last time.

Sirius smiles, a bit, and lifts one shoulder, “It’s good, no? It’s…not sure how to say…small names important in Russia. Mean two people are close.”

Is that really what we are? Remus wants to ask. He sort of wants to yell it because, as great as this is, he sees nothing but a darker end. For himself, anyway.

“Oh.” Is all he says out loud and falls sideways a little on the couch into the cushions. He’s suddenly so tired. Sirius doesn’t seem to mind, though, and mirrors his position, their knees knocking together. His soft smile is still aimed right at Remus. “What’s yours then?”

Sirius’ smile grows, “Mama give to me when little.” He raises his eyebrows, “Little bit funny, not laugh.”

Remus feels a smile of his own start up and he uses his sleeve to wipe his nose, sitting up a little more, “I won’t laugh.”

“Sivushka.” It rolls nicely off of Sirius’ tongue, and his cheeks pink a little but he looks pleased, “Sort of…for family? Friends. Not so much lover, too…small?”

“Casual?” Remus offers, “Like, it means a different feeling.”

Sirius’ smile is soft, “So good with english. So helpful.”

“Sivushka.” Remus tries it out, but it doesn’t sound half as good. Then, he can’t help it, heart in his throat when he asks, “What’s…what’s more than friends? Like, not—just, I’m curious what that would be.”

“Lover? Sirusya, maybe.” Then he smiles, eyes crinkling warmly, “You like? You call me?”

“Surely someone already calls you that.” Remus tries to keep his voice light. I mean, look at you. He wants to add.

Sirius sits up at that a little, eyes going hard, hand—that had been rubbing idly against Remus’ knee—going still, “No. No one call me.”

Remus swallows, “I—I didn’t mean—“

“I’m not—изменя́ть.” He huffs in frustration, “изменя́ть—I’m not know, not know, okay?”

Remus’s chest goes cold, “Okay. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to imply anything.”

“Not be here if with—someone else.” Sirius shakes his head, “Not like that, Remus. I’m not.” The phrase is followed by a disgruntled spell of Russian that Remus does his best to follow through tone alone.

“I know.” Remus finally says, “I know you aren’t.” Because he’s only met Sirius twice but he can honestly say he does know this about him, “I’m sorry.”

“Not apology, карамель.” Sirius rubs his hands over his face, “Too much action, sorry.”

Remus looks on in confusion, “What?”

“Me, me,” Sirius gestures aggressively towards himself, “Me. Too much action. Not right.”

Overreaction, Remus thinks and nods, “No, I understand.”

“I’m know…what guys you probably see doing…this.” Sirius doesn’t look at him as he acknowledges exactly why Remus is there for what feels like the first time other than money exchanges, “Not wrong for you to think. But no.”

“Sirius, it’s okay.” But that feels wrong somehow and so he says instead, “I mean, we’ve done this three times.”

Sirius is quiet for a long moment this time. “It’s true.” Then, after running his fingers over his necklace a few times, “You have other small name?”

The topic change pings a little, “Um. Not anything big. Re, mostly, if anything.”

“Re.” It sounds like a lovely mess of vowel in Sirius’ mouth, “That’s all?”

Remus nods, “Nothing like Russia, huh?”

Sirius runs a hand over his face one more time but when he moves it there’s a trace of his usual smile, “I’m find you one, not worry.” Then, eyes down and voice quiet but questioning, “You have…small name…for lover?”

Remus swallows. His throat is so dry all of a sudden so he just shakes his head, then realizes Sirius isn’t looking at him so he croaks out, “No.”

Sirius nods back, “Oh.” Then he grabs the remote and pushes it into Remus’ hand, “Find something. I’m call for tea and get money before forget. Be back.”

It seems like the end of the conversation, but the conversation doesn’t feel over. Remus choses a movie, but he couldn’t say what it was about. When its over Sirius has to tuck the money into Remus’ back pocket himself. He presses another kiss to Remus’ cheek. Then Remus doesn’t hear from him for two weeks.

Bucky was training with Steve early in the morning as always, they were known to be the first ones up in the morning in the tower.

Steve let out a grunt as Bucky landed a punch on his abdomen, he let out a smirk “you sure you still can keep going punk?” Steve rolled his eyes “yea yea buck I’ll beat your ass like Nat did.”

Bucky let out a chuckle it was peaceful to have moments like this with Steve, Suddenly he felt himself fall backwards as Steve swiped at his feet making him fall.

Steve let out a laugh “number 1 rule don’t get distracted.” Bucky let out a grumble as Steve helped him up “so.. how’s everything with Y/N? She’s still suspended from what happened?”

Bucky nodded as he gulped down water from his water bottle “yup she goes back on Thursday, I promised her not to tell Lauren.” Steve raised his eyebrow a bit “already spoiling her Buck?”

He shook his head as he smiled “na, she just got away with this one.” “Sure, next thing you know you’ll be spoiling her rotten.” Steve smiled as he patted his back.

“Do you think.. HYDRA will ever be after her?” Bucky never mentioned HYDRA after Shuri helped him remove the trigger words from his mind but now that he had you he couldn’t help but think what if HYDRA knew too?

Steve didn’t answer for a bit trying to think of the best thing to say “well.. even if they did know we wouldn’t let them get near her trust me Buck, Y/N is important to us as she is to you.” After Steve said that he left Bucky alone in the gym to think.

It was fears like this that often made him push people away, he’d often push Lauren away for the same reasons HYDRA would try to use her as bait against him; it’d nearly make him have a heart-attack every single time.

That’s when he vowed to himself to let nothing happen to you.

You yawned out stretching your limbs, Peter had texted you last night tell you that you really busted up Stephany’s face you couldn’t help but smirk.

She must’ve seen that coming right? She always bullied people and no one would stop her.. but of course you did.

You finally got up heading to the bathroom you turned on the water in the shower you waited until it got warm, after you were done showering you headed down to go see Bucky and the rest of the team.

You saw Wanda and vision sitting together, and Bruce was sitting with Nat you tried scanning for Bucky but you couldn’t see him anywhere “hey kid.” Tony called out to you “morning have you seen Bucky?”

“Oh yea he went to the store with Steve.” You nodded thanking him, you pulled a seat out next to Wanda she gave you a small smile before returning to talk to Vision.

You scrolled down through your phone one by one everyone started leaving you decided to return back to your room until Bucky got home.

After a while you heard someone knocking on the door “come in.” You said sitting up, it was Nat she gave you a smile you noticed she was in her combat gear “we’re heading out on a mission will you be fine on your own?”

“Yea, pretty should Buckys’ going to be home any minute too.” She nodded giving you a small wave before closing your door, you watched out the window as the quinjet left the tower.

A few hours passed by and sun was already going down; Bucky and Steve weren’t home yet you couldn’t help but feel scared it you were alone in the tower well besides FRIDAY.

“Miss Barnes?”

“Yea FRIDAY?”

“I detect someone’s in the building.”

“Oh that might be Steve and Bucky.”

“I don’t think it’s them Miss-“ Suddenly FRIDAY stopped you shifted in your bed uncomfortably.

“FRIDAY?.. oh no.. shit!” You grabbed your phone off of the counter and dialed Bucky’s phone after it rang for a few times he finally picked up “Y/N! I was about to call you, me and Steve can’t get in did Tony do something?”

“No! He isn’t here and FRIDAY said she detected someone was in the tower!”

“W-wait where are the others?!”

“They were called into a mission and-“

“Oh god..” you heard Bucky say loudly “what?” But he wouldn’t answer you he was talking to Steve.

Suddenly you heard a loud noise from outside your bedroom “Bucky! Please hurry I’m freaking out!” You whispered in your phone, you quickly and quietly went into the bathroom locking it.

“We’re trying Y/N! Just don’t go anywhere.”

“Uh I don’t think I can!” You sarcastically said into the phone.

You heard your bedroom door open, you clamped a hand over your mouth to quiet your breathing “strange I thought I heard something in here..” you could hear them walking in your bedroom opening and closing some of your drawers.

“Have you found her?” You heard another man’s voice “no sir.. how do you know for sure she’s the winter solider’s kid anyways?” The man let out an annoyed sigh “because we’ve been tracking them ever since they left HYDRA.”

HYDRA? Winter solider? You didn’t understand anything they were saying “Y/N?” You heard Bucky say through your phone you cursed quietly as you ended the call afraid that they could’ve heard.

“Wait.. I heard something in the bathroom..” you felt your heartbeat wildly in your chest you heard them get closer and closer “it’s locked someone is definitely in here.. sir I think it’s her.”

“Well what are you waiting for? Bust it down!” He started kicking at the door, a small cry escaped your lip you didn’t have anywhere else to escape you were dead, I’m going to fucking die you thought.

Suddenly the door opened you looked up and saw too shabby men looking down at you they had a skull imprinted on their shoulder “it’s definitely her! Do you see the way she looks!” The other man nodded in agreement before they could grab you-you heard loud footsteps come into your room.

“Motherfuckers!” Bucky roared out grabbing onto one of them and slamming him into the wall, Steve did the exact same thing to the other man you watched in amazement.

“Y/N.. hunny your shaking.” Bucky gently rubbed your shoulder trying to sooth you “I-i was afraid..” you mumbled out looking down “c’mon it’s okay..”

Steve and Bucky waited for the team to come back to tell them what happened,

Everyone kept eyeing you and then Bucky like if they were trying to tell him something in secret.

As Steve and Bucky talked you kept wondering what they meant who do what was HYDRA and what or who were the winter solider? The men also kept saying that “you were her”

Gathering up the courage you spoke “w-who is the winter solider?” You saw Bucky stiffen “w-what’d you say Y/N?”

“I said who is the winter solider? The people who attacked me said something like that.”

You saw Bucky look and Steve and Nat for some help but they shrugged not knowing the answer either “Y/N.. listen you have to promise me that no matter what I tell you.. you won’t hate or be scared or me..”

“I-I don’t understand.. are you?.. him?” He nodded “before this.. before you were born.. I was a solider fighting in a war during the 1940s.. me and Steve both were..” your mouth slightly opened in shook.

“Steve and I were fighting to take down any HYDRA bases during that time.. and during a mission we was on a train.. we were attacked and I fell off.. everyone thought I was dead but I was just found by HYDRA.. they ran experiments on me.. they told me I’d be the new fist of HYDRA..”

His voice was becoming shaky as he gripped your hand gently “I-I was wiped.. they took my memories away so I didn’t know anything I didn’t remember anything.. I’d kill people Y/N..” you saw him glanced over at Tony.

“But one day I was told to take out Steve.. and that’s when I started remembering things.. about my past life.. Steve practically saved me from them.. I’m not that person anymore.. believe me Y/N.. I’m not.” You were still in shock your father.. was OLD?! but he looked so young it was strange to you.

“I-I don’t hate you but man Bucky your old.” You tried lighting up the mood, you heard everyone chuckle Bucky let out a relieving sigh “so you aren’t afraid of me?”

You shook your head “I’m just glad you got a happy ending Bucky.” He smiled “yea so do I.”

“Not to ruin a moment.. but what are we going to do about HYDRA? They’re after Y/N now knowing she’s your daughter.” Bruce said as he looked down at the both of you.

“Well one thing is for sure they aren’t going to get you Y/N.” Bucky said, you knew what he said was a promise if Bucky has endured hell like that then he wouldn’t let people like them get you.

After talking for a bit some of the team left to go back to their rooms, now it was just you and Bucky you felt guilty making him talk to you about his past, maybe he was trying to forget it.. what if it still pained him? You thought.

You looked over at him as he looked out into the city below maybe.. this was the reason why he had also pushed your mom away to protect her from those people that wouldn’t leave him alone even after a few years “Bucky..” he turned around and looked at you.

“Yea Y/N? What is it?”

“Im sorry..” he looked at you confused “sorry for what Y/N?” You sighed “I-I shouldn’t have asked about all of that stuff.. I was just so curious.. I didn’t know you went through that stuff..” he gently stroked your hair “Y/N.. Steve helped me through things it’s fine..”

You shook your head “still I shouldn’t have asked.. but.. is that why you pushed.. mom away?” He didn’t say anything as he returned his gaze at the window.

“I was afraid.. I always was.. I thought I wasn’t enough for her she deserved someone who didn’t put her in danger 24/7 or left her alone on the weekend and weekdays.. I just thought she needed someone better than me..”

You gently laid your head on his shoulder “your the best Bucky.. mom still thinks that..”

This is going to be a bit lengthy, and even though it was a small purchase and only a few bucks, I caught a scammer and im proud of myself. Plus the whole thing was insanely extra and annoying so I’m just gonna share it with you.

So onto the story…

Last night I was working a closing shift. Around 8 (2 hours before closing), a woman and her son come up to my register to check out. At this point there are no other customers. She has 12 red mangoes, and that’s all.

I go to ring them up but halfway through me typing the produce code for them, she asks, “these are the ones that are $3 for $1, right?” So I pause mid-code type, change it to a price inquiry, type it in, and inform her, “errr, no, they'e 88 cents a piece.”

Sooo… here’s where it gets good. We’ll refer to my coworker in produce by the name “Richard”. It is extremely important to note that Richard always wears a black company hat while on the clock. Next to no one else does this.

She tells me, “well Richard over there in produce said they were 3 for $1.”

Okay… at the time I wasn’t really thinking about it, but looking back I think my subconsious kicked in and smelled something fishy. Here in good old Colorado, and at my store, mangoes are never 3 for $1 unless we’re having one of our special 3 day sales… in the summer. They haven’t been that cheap in I don’t know how long, and my 2 year anniversary is in February, so I’ve been there long enough to know about that. Additionally, There’s been no other customers coming up with complaints about the price, which if it’s wrong, mangoes are popular, so I would have heard about it by now. And it was the last day of our weekly ad cycle so, what even?

So as a recap - at this point, I have a woman and her son at my register, claiming the mangoes are 3 for $1, and she’s specifically using an employee’s name to convince me she’s right, but I am doubtful. Already the beginning of a good scam story, right?

Well, here’s where it gets even better. Let me tell you how our conversation went.

Her: Richard in produce said I could have them for 3 for 1.

Me: err, okay well let me call and see.

Richard (over the phone): hello?

Me: hey, man, so what’s going on with the mangoes? Like, What price are they back there?

Richard: um… 88 cents. Wait… let me double check and look at organics too hold on.

Me: okay. *puts down phone and turns to woman* well, he’s saying they’re 88 cents a piece as well but he’s double checking.

Her: well I just talked to Richard back there a minute ago! Richard told me that I could have them 3 for $1. He was wearing a hat! Richard told me that was the price!

Richard (calling me back on the phone): yeah the regular ones are 88 cents. Organic 98.

Me: and there’s no sign anywhere that says 3 for 1? I have a woman up here saying that you said she could have them at 3 for a dollar.

Richard: ..no? They'e 88 cents.

Her: Richard back in produce told me!

Me, knowing I was speaking to Richard but asks anyway: right uh.. is this Richard?

Richard: yeah..?

Me: well there’s a woman up here claiming that YOU told her that the mangoes were 3 for a dollar.

Richard, annoyed: is it (brief description of woman at my register)?

Me: yes.

Richard: I saw her in my department but she didn’t speak to me. I haven’t talked to anyone. I’ve been on lunch for the last half hour.

Me: okay, thank you. *sets phone back down, turns, faces woman, and looks her right in her eyes*

So I just got off of the phone with Richard, and he says that he didn’t tell you that, and that he’s been on lunch for the last half hour.

— so at this point she seems to understand that her scam isn’t working, but refuses to back down. At this point in getting a line but I’m INVESTED in this at this point, and there’s nothing I can really do at this point anyways because she won’t back down, so i am stuck there while she changes her scam from “Richard in produce told me” to now we are at -

Her: *turning towards the store and looking around* well it must have been somebody else then!! Who was it? I know he had a hat…

Me: …right well, Richard is our produce manager, sooooo….

She begins scanning the store for employees to pin this on, but hilariously, since she picked 8pm on a Tuesday night, the store is practically a ghost town void of both customers AND employees. Literally the only other employee that she can see besides me and Richard is a guy working in the meat department back room behind a glass wall.

Now, the thing is, is that the meat guys basically never leave their area, and they don’t rove the floor either as right next to the meat counter there are double doors leading to the back room. While they do face produce, they’re not exactly close to it. They have a coffin case in between them, and the doors for the back room that produce uses are literally on the opposite side of the store that meat counter is.

To her credit, I think the woman knew that trying to pin it on the meat guy, Who actually conveniently was wearing the same color and type of hat as Richard was, was ridiculous and wouldn’t have made any sense because she didn’t try to blame him for this. So not as stupid as you’d think, but still pretty questionable.

Anyways, I feel like at this point ive done all I can do, and she STILL won’t leave or accept me all but calling her a liar (all over wanting to pay $4 for almost $11 worth of mangoes, like really lady if you'e gonna pull a scam do it for something that’s WORTH IT), so i call the manager on duty.

However, I was trying to get to the MOD before this woman did, because in MY EXPERIENCE scammers and liars will absolutely talk and walk all over you as soon as a manager shows up and lie to their face - and unfortunately managers always believe the lies and get away with it. I knew if I was able to explain the situation first, it would be different - given that my current manager WILL bend rules, but is also known to stick up for us cashiers.

Luckily, I spot her pushing a cart down an action alley towards us, so I book it over and explain everything as fast as I can. At the end i say, “but you know, She’s…” my manager tries to finish, “She’s being rude?” But I reply, “She’s lying is what she’s doing. She’s lying.” And my manager says “oh, okay. Call (supervisor) up here to deal with the lines.” So I do, as at this point we had accumulated a long one.

So she walks up and asks this woman what’s going on, and in the SNOTTIEST, RUDEST tone she says, “Who are you?” It kind of surprised me because at this point while the scammer was being mind numbingly annoying, she had been reasonably polite, so for her to get so hostile over a manager kind of surprised me, but at this point, thank god, said manager was in charge and dealing with it now.

I took care of a few other customers while they were talking, and as soon as my line was done i excused myself and hung out by my supervisors register, which happened to be close enough to listen but far away enough to not be involved.

And I can hear what they'e saying - my manager having been informed of the scam, is holding firm on the 88 cent price, and the woman, for some unfathomable reason, is still insistent on the price. I think at this point she knew she was caught and was trying to leave gracefully by making it seem like a mistake, but it was really annoying.

Her: it must have been in the online ad.. unless the online ad is wrong.

Manager: they haven’t been that price for a while, MAYBE it was like that 2 weeks ago… (so not in any recent ad she might have “gotten confused” about.)

Even better was that… now, I didn’t find this out until afterwards as my supervisor started to ask me what was going on and since I was explaing it I didn’t hear this part of the drama… but my manager came up to me afterwards after she was done talking to the woman, that apparently the woman switched tactic again, never mentioned Richard, and instead said that she had called the store and asked about the price and whoever was on the phone, was now the magical entity that told her the mythical price of 3 for $1

Absolutely fucking hilariously, said manager said that she had gotten a call like that, answered it herself, and knew for a fact that she did not tell this woman they were 3 for a dollar.

Fucking OH MY GOD WOMAN, you got caught! It’s been obvious for the past 10 minutes that you'e not fleecing any of us! You can save yourself the most dignity by just… FUCKING OFF!

The whole thing was super obnoxious, but handle-able and im proud of myself for sticking to my guns and glad that my manager backed me up and stood firm, as orginally, before i said that the woman was lying, she started telling me to just give them to her for that price. So it was nice that she took me seriously and stood her (our) ground.

The only frustrating thing is that since I have borderline personality disorder… I’m not afraid of confrontation by any means (obviously) but sometimes my body overreacts to my emotion as well. So while I was keeping a cool and level head on the outside (believe it or not) my body was giving me away… my face was flushing, my voice was uneven, my body became stiff and weird and gangly, on top of shaking… too much adrenaline. But other than that I’m happy on how it worked out. Luckily I think my supervisor saw I was a bit jittery and sent me on my break to cool off.

And may I also say, that there’s few other customers that I hate as much as ones who name drop when the person they’re naming didn’t do what they claim they did. Richard seemed mad but cool and collected.. I know if someone did that to me like she did to him I would be stomping over and being like “she said WHAT now? No I did NOT!!!!!!” Back tf up. But that’s just another reason I don’t wear my name tag… can’t use my name if it’s not broadcasted!

But anyways kids, just keep in mind that name dropping is actually a really common way of scamming, it gives the illusion that they really did talk to someone when they didn’t. So it never hurts to double check with that person.

Okay so I literally just started writing this Jarchie thing (I put it under the cut) and want to know what everyone thinks/if I should continue it/put it up on AO3 etc etc. Especially since I wasn’t aiming to have a WIP for Jarchie but here I am, writing a thing.

I’m basing it more off the new comic versions, but I’m also keeping in mind the TV show, so I won’t have Grundy and I’ll probably keep Jug in the beanie as opposed to the cap. Idk yet, I haven’t made any description of it yet. It’s got ace Jug, possibly aro, since yeah I am basing it more off the comics but im not sure yet and I just want to say that because hell it may end up having qpr jarchie but then it might not idk idk this is just the first chapter.

Basically, I wanted to write one of those disgustingly cliche high school AUs, except obviously they’re canonically in high school. So AU instead where Jughead and Archie were never friends. Jughead’s that emo loner & Archie’s that popular jock dating that popular girl (Ronnie) and every girl wants Archie. EXCEPT Archie’s kinda pining after Jug, but has never done or said anything because he doesn’t think Jug would care or want to even be his friend or anything (’then why’s he dating Ronnie?’ you may ask, it’s in the chapter’s my fellas).

So it’s kinda like, you know the story line... that guy that’s perfect and every girl wants but he ends up falling for that one girl who’s average and underwhelming and people are like HOLY SHIITTT HOWWW because they’re destroying the social ladder or some shit. And writing those really cliche scenes, except all of a sudden, I’ve realised, they might not be that cliche because this is Jug we’re talking about like... how will this fold out? As cliche as I was planning to write? Or maybe not so much??? idk...

Currently about 3k words under the cut! (not edited since I JUST wrote it)

Jughead Jones was more of a loner type, and nobody questioned that. He seemed to prefer to be on his own, sitting by himself during lunch hours, a pile of food to one side of him, his computer on the other. Maybe he was playing video games, maybe he was typing, nobody really knew.

It’s not that he was entirely alone, though. Sometimes he was with Betty Cooper and Kevin Keller, other times Dilton Doiley. If they invited him anywhere, one could sometimes hear him accepting, but most times he’d turn them down.

So by choice, really, he spent time alone.

And so he was today just before school began, sitting and munching on a banana and face glued to his computer screen, until Betty and Kevin came running over to him. It was the gleam in their eyes that Jughead knew what they were going to talk about, maybe even ask his opinion on.

“PFG is dating Veronica Lodge,” Kevin said to him, after hastily taking the seat beside him.

Ah yes, teen drama. Even worse: teen dating drama. Which Jughead held about as much interest in as the supermodels in underwear calendar everyone had been swooning about two weeks ago. (As a side note, some of the underwear had appeared entirely unpractical, but nobody would listen to Jug when he pointed that out).

“Who and who now?” Jughead asked, but a memory resurfaced on what PFG was. Ah yes, Popular Football God, Archie Andrews.

“Yes see, check out my twitter! It’s blowing up!” Kevin ignored the question and shoved his phone in Jughead’s face and. Cross-eyed, Jug attempted to read a couple of so-called tweets:

“And this should interest me because?” Jughead asked, taking a huge bite of his burger.

“Was a reality star,” Kevin said, “I doubt she’s that big of a deal anymore.”

“Says the news vans outside the school we just pushed past...” Betty rolled her eyes.

There’d been news vans?? Jughead munched on his burger, trying hard to think back to a few minutes ago, a difficult feat, but he recalled someone sticking a microphone up to his face as he tried to walk into the school. They asked about something that he could no longer remember, and he’d ignored them and gone right in.

“Well, whatever,” Kevin sounded bitter.

Jughead wasn’t sure why until Betty said, “Look, I know you think Archie should’ve said yes when I asked him out-,”

Kevin hummed an affirmation.

“-But he doesn’t like me like that. I’m completely content on just being friends. Please don’t be terrible to him.”

“I’m not being terrible to him,” Kevin muttered, scrolling on his phone, “or to anyone. It just doesn’t seem fair...”

Jughead finished his banana and pulled an apple out of his pocket, “It’s not like anyone can do anything about it. If somebody doesn’t like someone that’s hardly anyone’s fault. No point getting angry.”

“You’re exactly right, Jug,” Betty said, and then to Kevin, “just leave it be, Kev. I’ll find someone worthy of me.”

“That you will,” Jug said to her and Betty flashed him a smile before the two left, leaving Jughead to go back onto his computer and eat his food in peace.

It was just one date! Archie was fuming as he scrolled down his twitter feed. Of course this would happen, goddammit. It’s not that he didn’t like Veronica – he did, but he just wasn’t sure yet. And okay, he was hoping with one date he would figure it out but... he hadn’t.

The worst thing was everyone kept stopping him in the hallways when all he wanted to do was be alone and read through the tweets of what people were saying. Maybe contact Veronica and ask what she thinks about it.

She probably doesn’t mind, Archie thought with a pang of annoyance, he’d seen her talking to the media outside the school.

Archie, on the other hand, had gone around the back. He made his way into the bathroom, going to the end stall and locking himself into it. He put the toilet seat down and sat, also moving his legs up so they wouldn’t be in view at the bottom of the cubicle.

He texted Veronica, now content he had some peace and quiet.

Ronnie, howd every1 find out so fast?

When he didn’t get a reply right away he gripped his phone tighter, deciding he had to look away because otherwise the text would never come if he stared at his phone. Why does one always get messages when they aren’t look at their phone? It’s some sort of law of the universe.

So Archie stared at the bathroom wall, the tiles covered in scribbles of texts. Phone numbers, insults, and praises. Information, gossip, and crude drawings. He read through all of them, though one line written in thick, black marker met his eyes:

And scribbled furiously underneath in a slimmer, redder marker:

Leave Jug alone!! Ass!!

Archie reached into his varsity jacket pocket, pulling out an ordinary black ink pen. Most people used permanent markers on the wall, but he could make do with this. He scrawled underneath in a manner so no one could guess it was his writing:

JUGHEADS P CUTE ACTUALLY

He’d never really spoken to the guy... well, occasionally he had. He’d tried to hit him up a couple of times but Jughead never appeared interested.

Okay, well ‘hit him up’... more like ask a question in the middle of class. Like what he’d asked him last month, for example. It was a Tuesday, just after lunch, when Archie found himself sitting next to the guy in English class.

“Hey, do you know what time it is?” Archie had whispered to him.

Jughead looked right at Archie, who’d done his best to give a polite smile, even though he would’ve liked nothing more than to beam and wink at the guy. Perhaps even try a come-hither look, but he didn’t want to scare Jughead away.

The other boy had just frowned, glancing down at Archie’s wrist and saying with thorough confusion “You’re wearing a watch...”

“Oh, right... right, I forgot...” Archie had said, and remembering that reply made him cringe and groan. Gosh, he should’ve said something like it was broken, or been more suave about it, idiot.

In his left hand, his phone vibrated and Archie quickly checked the text, glad to see it was Ronnie.

Sry Archiekins! media wantd 2 talk J no clue how any1 knows. sum1 saw us 2gether & guessd right?

Archie grinded his teeth and sent back.

It was one date Ronnie! I do like you, but I dunno if I want to do this yet...

An instant reply.

But if you like me, then shouldn’t you want to date me?

That was true. Archie wasn’t sure how he felt, or how he should reply. Should he say he liked guys more? That maybe he just needed some time away? Or maybe he should just flat out say he isn’t sure if he likes her like that. Archie started to type back, fixing the text, back spacing and writing the whole thing again until he was sure he was okay with it.

I dunno, Ronnie. I think I need some time to think about it.

He pressed send. It took a moment longer for another reply from her.

So we’re not dating?? :(

Archie sighed, wondering if he just avoided texting back if he could avoid the whole situation completely. The bell rang anyway so he really had to get to class.

The bell rang and Jug grumbled to himself, annoyed. He’d been too busy on his computer he hadn’t noticed the time. As he was at his locker, it was slammed shut in his face by none other than Reggie Mantle.

Reggie was a complicated specimen. The best comparison for him was that he was Satan, but it pained Jughead to admit that Reggie did have his moments of kindness.

This was not one of them.

“Hey pointy,” Reggie said, referring to Jug’s undoubtedly pointed nose. A most fitting moniker, though uninspiring. Jughead was a much better name.

And Reggie asked the million dollar question “How smart are you?”

“I’m quite the genius, thanks for noticing,” Jughead said, balancing the line of sincerity and scorn.

“I really need someone to do my homework,” Reggie was saying.

“Goddamn it, Reg,” Another voice said, and from behind Reggie, a tuft of red hair appeared, before Archie Andrews popped into sight. “I told you, you could come over to my house and we could do the homework together.”

“I didn’t have time,” Reggie said, “practice and all...”

“Get to class, Reg, you’re late as it is,” Archie said with a roll of his eyes, “We’re late, but I’ll be there soon.”

And Reggie Mantel listened, of course he did. He was Archie Andrew’s best friend. The only person who could keep him in line, if truth be told. Jughead saw it happen rather often.

“You alright?” Archie asked Jughead, much to his surprise.

“I didn’t need your help,” Jughead said, opening his locker again and getting out the rest of his things, and putting burgers into it.

“Are those burgers?” Archie asked, trying to get his face up into Jug’s business for SOME REASON.

“Yeah, I’m stocking up,” Jughead said, wondering how to give him a hint to go away.

“Oh man, that’s nuts,” Archie said and Jughead shot him a glare. The red-head stammered, “I mean- like- not in a bad way- it’s pretty cool, actually but- you know... nevermind...” Archie started taking steps backwards, thank goodness, but he still kept talking, “Anyway, sorry, I was just... trying to converse, you’re welcome though for the thing, like, that thing with Reggie that was- I was just trying to help- ya know, ‘cause that’s what I like to do, help people love to help people, anyway...”

The only reason Archie paused for breath was because he stumbled over his feet and nearly fell over, but caught himself before he did. Jughead stared, completely speechless, when Archie continued to speak.

“Well, it was fun talking to you, I’ll be off to class, class that we both have. Both of us, in class together. Bye. I mean, really, see you later- AROUND- see you around.”

And then Archie Andrews was gone.

The only reaction going through Jughead’s mind could be best decribed as ‘!!!???????????’

It took him a moment to gather his bearings before he could finally close his locker and get to class.

Archie new Veronica was waiting for him to reply to the text message. But he just didn’t know. He should just say no, he figured, but then what would everyone else say? Would they think he was being a complete shit?

God. Maybe he should just try this. And in the middle of class, while the teacher wasn’t looking, he was able to type a quick text to Veronica.

And when his phone vibrated it was a selection of happy emoticons. He slipped the phone back into his bag, glancing around the room to see if anyone noticed. No one had, and even then his eyes landed on Jughead who sat in the row behind him on the other side of the room. The other boy was doing his own work, attentive to nothing and no one else. Even some other people in the classroom were looking around at each other, dreamily staring at the person in front of them or discreetly trying to text or write notes.

But Archie just looked at Jughead, some memories of primary school resurfacing when they’d been friends for a brief time. Maybe it had only been for a year, or even weeks, Archie couldn’t remember. He’d liked him back then... why hadn’t they stayed friends?

“Mr Andrews,” Miss Haggly did not sound pleased, at all, quite the opposite.

Archie’s head snapped back to the front, and he could feel himself burning. Oh god, hopefully no one noticed him staring at Jughead. And why pick on him? A bunch of other people were being just as restless.

Miss Haggly stared him down “Perhaps you’d like to give us the answer!?”

Not particularly, he thought, but he knew that was a rhetorical question. What was the actual question, wait, what?

“Detention!” Archie exclaimed, as he and Reggie hung around the lockers, “And for what!?”

“That’s tough man,” Reggie said, “really unfair of her. But you weren’t looking to the front or at your work, so I guess that’s why...”

Archie huffed, watching as Jughead walked by, getting the sniff of burgers. He almost wanted to blame him, but it’s not like it was Jughead’s fault Archie was looking over at him.

“Archiekins!” Veronica came running over and planted a kiss on his cheek, “I heard about the detention that is completely unfair!”

“Tell me about it,” Archie said dully.

“You’ll need to cancel your party, Reggie,” Veronica said firmly, “if Archie can’t be there, then we shouldn’t throw it.”

“Whoa, hang on a moment, no way-,” Reggie said.

And Veronica was going to argue back but Archie butted in, “Reggie’s right. Party’s still on, I’ll swing by after,” as long as detention didn’t go for too long, Archie thought glumly.

Veronica grabbed on so tightly to his arm, it was like she never planned on letting him go.

“Hey Jug,” the fact that Kevin’s locker was close to Jughead’s always made it easier for the guy to randomly start up conversation.

Usually about thing Jughead didn’t care too much about.

“You been in the bathrooms lately?” Kevin asked.

Weird question, but his point was made. “No?”

“Well when you do, go to the end stall, read the wall, alright?” Kevin was unusually giddy.

The wall?? But Kevin walked off before Jughead could figure out what he meant by that. Why were people always so cryptic? What was hard about saying it straight?

There was only one thing to do, so Jughead went to the bathroom.

At the beginning of a break was always the best time to go to the bathroom, as usually people piled in on the end half, and others sometimes didn’t go to the bathroom during school at all.

Nervous bladders, perhaps.

Jughead went to the end stall, as Kevin suggested, and locked the door, taking a seat on the toilet. He read through the wall like Kevin suggested, but there was nothing interesting. Stupid pictures, dumb words and—

Well that’s cruel and unnecessary, but it’s not like Kevin would tell him to go into the stall just to read that.

Leave Jug alone!! Ass!! Was written underneath that, and he gave a small smile. That was Kevin’s handwriting, he was sure. Then—

JUGHEADS P CUTE ACTUALLY

What? P what? Jughead snorted. He didn’t know who’d written that, but that was a nice sentiment he supposed. If only Kevin hadn’t written something after that too...

Ohh my godd~~ ask him out!!

“Damn it, Kevin,” Jughead grumbled to himself, he doesn’t want to date anyone. That’s just stupid. Still, it seemed unlikely whoever this was would even ask him out, so he may as well forget about it. Suppose it was good to know somebody thought he was cute, and Jughead gave one last read of that line before heading out of the stall and bumping right into Archie Andrews.

“Oh, hey!” Archie said, “Fancy seeing you here!”

The look on Archie’s face suggested he’d regrated saying that as soon as it came out of his mouth so Jughead decided to let it slide.

He better wash his hands though, so it doesn’t look like he came out of the stall and was being unhygienic and gross.

“Sucks about detention, PFG,” Jughead said, “Miss Haggly’s probably just having a bad day.”

“PFG?” Archie asked.

Huh, weird... Jughead turned the tap off and dried his hands on his pants. “PFG? That’s what everyone calls you when they talk to me, so I’d have thought...”

“No, I’ve never heard that,” Archie said, looking particularly frown-y. “What’s it stand for?”

“Uh... Popular Football God,” Jughead said, headed for the door, “See you around, Andrews.” And he got out while he still could. Man, that was weird, he couldn’t remember the last time he’d even said a word to Archie Andrews. Now he’d spoken to him twice today.

So damn weird.

“Yeah, you too Jug,” Archie said to Jughead when he’d left, but he doubt the other boy heard. He’d rather Jughead called him PFG than Andrews, but there it was. Last name usage. And PFG!? Really? He wasn’t some popular...

Okay maybe a little.

And football...

Okay, yeah, he played that, but God!? He wasn’t some Zeus, really.

Worst nickname ever. Maybe he could sue whoever came up with it. But right now, all Archie wanted to do was check the bathroom stall, to see a new addition after what he’d written.

Ask Jughead out? No way, the guy was... well, it was hard to ask him out. Who knew what interest he held outside of food and computers? Besides, Archie was dating Veronica, he wasn’t about to play two people at once.

Could he?

No, no, no. Archie Andrews was a decent person, anything but that.

Then he remembered Jughead had been in this stall just moments ago. Oh god, he’d seen the comment. Oh crap. Archie felt himself burning up, even though nobody was around. Maybe Jughead had recognised his writing? But if he had, wouldn’t he have said something?

He couldn’t think straight.

“Breathe, Andrews,” Archie said to himself, then wrote something in reply.

Jughead had been unusually hungry that day. Well... hungrier than usual. Which is to say, awfully hungry.

He grabbed a burger out of his locker which he could inconspicuously eat during class. He’d done it before, and he knew he’d have to be careful, but it wasn’t a huge issue.

Jughead sat at the back, the burger under his things, munching on the food. It was the last class of the day and he was looking forward to getting out of there. Headed to Pop’s.

He heard his classmates whispering something about a party. Typical, he hadn’t been invited. Not that he’d go anyway, but it was always nice to at least get an invitation.

He’d forgotten about Miss Haggly’s awful mood, and it was just his luck he had her for the last class. And just his luck that Moose bumped into his table and sent his things flying, including his burger.

Of course, Moose should have gotten in trouble, but since it was Jug’s burger... well...

Long story short, he’d found himself in detention. Even worse: it was an afterschool clean-up detention.

November Update Mo’de.

November 9th I don’t even know what’s going on. I thought I wanted dick tbh. Like thought I was okay with fucking with him cause I didn’t feel anything for him. Turns out I play myself and etc you already know how this goes...

So I’ve been talking to mode on and off lately mostly weekdays for like 2 weeks we been texting. Was supposed to see him Sunday or something but said fuck it and he never replied back. So he says he has a phone issue okay I get it cause he downgraded to a iPhone 6. Kinda make sense but idk if I even wanna believe his phones been acting up since February.

So.. we had talks of plans on meeting up. Come Monday he’s been very friendly with me via text. Even when I give him half ass replies he takes it and says something else. Told me me missed me again, I said yah sure should’ve ghosted your ass he’s like why? I told him he’s like sorry we can chill this week. This week ended up turning into a w/e feeling tbh. Like I was horny mad horny i was even down to fuck him and not say anything either. Just go there fuck and leave nothing else. Maybe even end it the feeling was just trash tell him I moved on or something and that I want to focus on my self. Sound like a white bitch but it’s true. I really wanted to end it at some point. Everyone I know says he’s not worth it. Damn even my mom says he’s not worth it. He challenges my insecurities. He isn’t that good looking but he makes me feel like I’m just average at best.

Nov 20th So cont. he sends me a message on Tuesday asking about my bday and that I should let him know if anything changes. I said I would, then he finishes the text sentence for me with one word & I reply back like you finishing my sentences he’s like yah real one I’m like cringing rn he’s like boo I’m like don’t.

Lol^ but he never texts me affectionate stuff so that was a turn off since I was already tryna distance myself from that.

So come to Wednesday we still talk via text only** I was horny too 😭 so I messaged him asking if he was busy after work. Then replied back he’s with his homie.. asked me if tomorrow was okay I was like okay.

I just wanted some dick tbh nothing else maybe a little cuddle that’s all 😰

Come Thursday, we text during the morning was still replying late the other day. W/e but we did have plans to link up that night. - we link up Thursday night. He pulls up to tim hortons in my area and I get into his car. We’re just talking for like a bit suddenly out of nowhere my younger brother pulls up, him and his friend in my step dads car. I see him get out the car smoking a cigarette and just standing there.

I’m shook at this point. I lean back in mode’s car because I don’t want to be seen. I confused because I don’t wanna expose myself but I want to approach him and smack him across his head. So he goes into Tim hortons, mode tells me that I should go and just say I saw him pulling out of the drive way. Once he goes inside I quickly run in the store and approach him. I look at him and can tell he’s high. His eyes red, smells like shit & can’t even focus.

So I talk to him and tell him fix up. That’s not the kinda path he’s gonna wanna be on when he’s older.

Long story short, I told him go home and I’m see him there.

I leave the area call mo’de to link up again and he follows me to another spot near by. We talk for a bit I can’t even remember what cause it was two week ago. But we talked for a bit then started making out. He pulls up to another spot, we get in the back and he’s so horny. My intentions that night was to fuck. But the whole seeing my bro thing fucked me up. Like my mind wasn’t there. I couldn’t do it.

My friend was buggin so I invited her over and went to the mall together to do a little outfit shopping for Marisa’s bday. So... times getting closer and he’s not hitting me up. I message him at 9 and ask busy? He’s like yah i say it’s okkk. I leave it as that. From Friday to next week Thursday I never hear from him. Whole week last week I was like when’s he gonna text me. Check for me? Send me snap? Nothing. Anyways I literally left it as it is, & see a text from him Thursday afternoon asking what’s up. I reply back and so we make plans to link again. He asks about my mtl plans and that’s a flop. Says he’s still going so I’m like lol have fun, he’s like why don’t you come. Awww he’s such a lair I love it. Like tell me to come with you and you gonna hurt my feelings. That’s what niggahs do.

November 22nd cont. He texted me Thursday we talk about the basic shit and kinda make plans to link up but the doesn’t happen. Friday night we say let’s met after work, okay bomb so it’s planned. I get home and have to deal with my older bro getting him a rental under my name. Smh so I’m running back and forth in traffic in the city with him. Let mo’de kno what’s going on. Text him he’s like it’s cool, after works still a go. I get back to the house around 8pm perfect timing. Tell Hoyo I’m about to step out for a bit then bam. He hits me with “his friend got into an accident this is his second accident in two weeks” damn I said. Alright.

Next morning he asked what I was up to I was busy dealing with family wedding planning that weekend so I wasn’t really checking for him like that. I send a text asking if he could visit me and he’s like yah around after the wedding and he’s like yah that’s okay. I’m at the wedding waiting for a text back from him kinda, cause it was an early wedding dinner. By 9:30 I was out that place back home. Didn’t want to stay home but I tried to see what he was up too. No reply back I just left it as that. Texts me in the morning Saturday now asking what I went when I texted him. Convo continued, it was kinda dry. But never really cared. Just wanted dick at that point but also was on my period :(..

He still messages me Monday and we agree to see each other after work. The time comes to see him and I’m already ready at this point. I’m home I leave without telling anyone just out the house Start the car and wait to text him.

We met around his ends a plaza parking lot. I arrived at the plaza around 8:10 maybe waited till 8:40 for this guy. So I was just in the car playing music crying going through emotions while waiting for him.

He comes, I get in his car and we drive off to the back of the plaza... I’m on my period so nothing could even happen. But he parks the car and we talk. We didn’t talk about my bday or the Mtl trip, we didn’t talk about us and how we wanna go from here, we didn’t talk about texts and how we waste each other time. Instead we talk about stupid shit that won’t even matter. I just called him names that whole night. Made fun of him jokingly but seriously. But I did kiss him when I got into the car at first.

Woah, my train of thoughts everywhere. Shit probably doesn’t even make sense but I’m tryna sum it up. So we talked for a bit then made out. Jumped into the back seat to make out further. Took my jacket off and had him kissing all over me. His soft ass kisses, shit got intense cause I felt his boner through my pants and pad. I had him screaming, moaning telling me he’s coming don’t stop. My jaw got fucking tired but it ended he came so much cum holy. So i thought.

Thursday evening around 7pm the convo was going. Mostly all Tuesday and Wednesday was kinda sex talk. But thursday night he messages me asking if i was home told him yah he's like lucky I'm like nah i wanna be cuddled up with you.... That was around 7pm..

i don't get a text back until 9am friday morning aka tonight.. He messages me like so come through.. Im like damn. its a little to late now, then he follows up with a confusing ass convo talking about how he always fucks up things.. Im like L o L have a good weekend talk to you monday.. He's like where you going? I'm like dead at this point because nothing he's saying makes sense and is confusing as fuck. So i sent a text around 6 or 7pm once again and get no reply now its 11:30 just ending off the night.

Well i know what we are and know we won't be anything more. I don't want a relationship no matter how much my tummy feels for it.

I can't deal with that that type of fucked up ness in my life.
