a snippet from the fic im writing
speeding bullet content ahead!!
its a lil angsty but im havin fun with it hehe
for a touch of background, scout noticed snipers last name on an item earlier which is Why he knows that. just. for reference.
"Yeah, mate, not a problem. Let me start some tea."
---
A knock at his door woke Sniper with a start. It was dark outside, hardly time for anybody to be up and about. He slid from his bed, pistol in hand as he went to the door.
"Who's there?"
"...Snipes?" Came the quiet reply.
Sniper set down the gun on a nearby ledge, unlocking the door with a questioning look. "Roo? Why're you out here at this hour?"
"Uhhh," Scout scratched the back of his head. "Couldn't sleep. Ya mind if I-"
The two sat in silence as Sniper started a kettle and set aside a few mugs.
"Y'mind tellin' me why you're out here at..." He checked the clock. "4 in the bloody morning?"
"I told ya. Can't sleep." The easygoing smile he shot the Sniper didn't quite reach his eyes.
"Right." Sniper decided not to press it any further. They could talk over a few mugs of tea.
More silence. It felt stifling without Scout's near constant chatter, the way his presence didn't seem to take up the entire room and instead hardly took up the space of his body.
Sniper stirred a spoonful of honey into one of the mugs before turning and offering it to Scout. "Here. Chamomile." He tipped his head a bit at Scout. "My mother used to make it for me. Helps you ease up a bit."
"Sounds good." He took the mug, and Sniper was struck with how strange his hands looked when they weren't wrapped for work. He sat down across from Scout with a sigh, figuring if he didn't speak, the other man would eventually.
"...Snipes?"
"Mm?"
"You ever think about, uh, home?" His eyes darted to the ground before he looked back up. "Like... The people you miss? Wonder if they'd be proud?"
"Well, my mum and dad don't particularly appreciate my line of work..." He twiddled with the spoon in his mug, mixing even though the honey had long dissolved. "Didn't really have too many others."
"Oh."
Scout fell quiet again, sipping his tea thoughtfully.
"Well, I... I miss my ma. I worry about her, y'know?" He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "It's been a while since I've been home, she doesn't know where I am... Been a while since we talked."
"Is that what's buggin' ya?"
Scout looked down. "No, not really."
Sniper placed down his mug and watched Scout carefully as he began to speak again.
"It's my brothers. They, uh... These dogtags, y'know?"
His words were scattered in a characteristically Scout way without any of the energy. It made sense, but for a second Sniper didn't quite catch it. The Scout didn't often talk about his background.
"I just can't imagine how worried my ma must be, the third of her sons to disappear into a war she can't know about. She doesn't know I die every single day, she doesn't know what I do, she doesn't know any of it."
Scout looked uncomfortable, scuffing his feet against the legs of the table. "I wanna go home for a bit. Just let her know I'm okay. She doesn't have to know it all, just know I'm here. I'm not going anywhere." His voice got progressively quieter as he spoke, a far cry from the Scout he'd been just a few hours ago, rowdy in the lounge with the rest of the guys, cards and booze and raucous laughter.
"Mate..."
"Nah, nah, I- I know it's kinda dumb. Like. We all have people back home. I just worry for my ma. I should call her tomorrow." He took a long drink of the tea.
Another long silence, but this one felt a little less quiet.
"...If you'd like," Sniper winced at the sound of his own voice breaking through the quiet. "you can stay here for the night. If the company would help at all."
"...Yeah. Thanks."
"Not a problem." He nodded once and stretched. "Can I get you anything else?"
"Uh... Nah, I don't think so. Thanks, Mundy."
The Sniper stood still, having stood to start cleaning.
"Sorry. Shit. I can, uh-"
"No. No, it's fine, I'm just... Not used to hearing that name. Not anymore. But. It's Mick. Mick Mundy."
"..Jeremy Gallagher."
"Irish, mm?"
"Yeah. Irish."
The two were quiet for a moment longer before Sniper continued, empty mug in hand to place into the sink. "Blankets are in the drawer beside you."
"Alright. Yeah, thanks."
Sniper retreated to his bed, quietly groaning as he got settled. "Don't wake me up too early, now."
"No way. I'm tired enough as is."
This earned Scout a tired laugh. "Right then. I won't worry with the alarm. Five minutes to get ready work for you?"
"Yeah."

“Why… what made you change?” Hilda whispered, her gaze turning down sadly. “Do you think you could tell me, just so I know what I did wrong?” “It wasn’t something you did, sweetheart, I promise.” The words came up easily, soft and gentle, fondness returning after far too long. “It’s just… you know how you feel now, about your adventures? That bad feeling, where you’re scared everyone wants you to change?” “Mhmmm?” “I started feeling like that about taking care of you,” she explained quietly, kneeling down once again. “That’s a feeling that all mums have to deal with at some point, I think, and in my case, it got the best of me. It’s not something you need to worry about, sweetheart, it’s something I need to work on; all you need to do is remember that I love you, always, and if you ever feel like I’m not showing that in the right way.” “Come and tell you?” Hilda asked gingerly, looking up again. Her eyes were still shining, but it wasn’t sadness, not anymore. “Yes, sweetheart. And I know that might be hard, so I promise; I’ll never get upset with you for how you feel.” And just like that, there were arms around her, small, familiar arms, squeezing tighter than they had in months as the last few embers went out, and the last bridge came back open again. And as her daughter held her close, Johanna reached up and held her back, and felt a weight lift off her shoulders at the feeling. Against her, Hilda sniffled just a little, but it was a good sort of sniffle, a release of feelings free from the pain of earlier. “Thanks, Mum.” “It’s okay, sweetheart,” Johanna found herself promising, rubbing a little circle into a jumper under dyed brown hair. “It’s okay.”
@phopollo (go commission them!!) drew this amazing art for my fic, When You Have A Bad Thought, and now I genuinely want to cry :,))

Grievances
Requested by @wosoobsessed
Request - Hi, would you maybe be able to do a bit of an angsty one with Natasha? I lost my mum earlier this year. So maybe the reader's mum passes away and Natasha is just the best partner and comforts her through the Journey of her grief and like holds her while she cries. And goes with her to the funeral. Sorry if this is too sad you don’t have to do it I 100% understand if this isn’t the stuff you would want to write 😂😂But thank you anyway!!
I sat there in shock. I got the phone call everyone dreads, the call from someone letting you know a loved one has passed. My mother, a kind and funny woman, had passed on earlier today, and after getting a call from my sister, my world was crushed. The tears hadn’t set in yet, I was still processing the words that I had been told. Natasha was wrapping up filming for Poker Face season 1 in upstate New York. I wanted to text her, ask her to come back to the apartment with a bottle of liquor and a box of tissues, and fall into her arms. However, I felt bad doing that. It was only 10 a.m. and she had left at 7. This meant that there was most likely a 12-hour shoot day today and that she wouldn’t be home until 11 or midnight. So, I did the next best thing, I drove to the store, got some booze, and came home and cried. And watched sad movies, and cried. It was about 10 pm and I had a lot to drink. I wasn’t on another planet or anything cliche, but I wasn’t sober. And that's how Natasha found me, lying on the couch, staring off into space and mumbling to myself. “Hi Natty!” I slurred. Natasha looked shocked at my state, “Baby? What, uh, what happened?” The question made me remember why I got so drunk in the first place. This time, the tears came. I couldn’t stop them, they just kept pouring down my face. This reaction shocked Natasha, even more. “Ok, ok. Let’s get you to bed, ok honey? We can talk in the morning.” The next thing I knew, I was waking up in our shared bed with a killer hangover. After I emptied my stomach of the booze, I sat down on the bed next to an expectant Natasha. “So, do you wanna tell me what last night was all about? I brought home some beers to celebrate filming wrapping, but when I got home you were 2 sheets to the wind,” Natasha said, looking at me worried. “Nat…I…just…here,” I couldn’t get the words out, so typed it into my phone and handed it to my fiance. I was on the verge of tears again as I waited for her reaction. She didn’t say anything, she just pulled me into her and held me. I cried in her arms for a while. To be honest, I’m not sure how much time passed. All I know is that when I was done, it was no longer morning. We had spent the day cuddling, crying, and sleeping.
“Darling? Are you hungry? I can hear your stomach rumbling,” Natasha said, after multiple hours of grieving. I nodded my head, my throat sore. “What would you like to eat?” She asked again. I only shrugged my shoulders, not currently wanting to make a decision. “Does pizza sound good?” Once again, I only nodded. I got up and made myself look a little more presentable and walked to meet Nat by the door. She took my hand and walked us to her car.
I got in the car and she did too. As she drove, I decided to finally speak. “I’m sorry, bub,” I said, looking at my lap. I felt bad. I felt like I had been clingy and just overall annoying.
“No, no. You don’t have anything to be sorry for. Why would you think that? You’re grieving over the loss of someone who was a giant part of your life. You can be as sad as you want. I’m going to take some time off and I’m going to be with you, ok? Because I don’t want you to think that this is something to be ashamed of. Feeling like this, feeling emotional, even feeling numb, is all a part of the process of grief. Please understand that you don’t have anything to be ashamed of.” Natasha reassured me. I almost cried out of relief. “Really?” I asked, trying to wrap my head around the kindness and acceptance of my partner. She nodded as we pulled into the restaurant parking lot.
“I promise, hon. You have nothing to be ashamed of and you shouldn’t feel weak. Now, I’m gonna go in and get our food. Want your normal?” She asked. After I told her what I wanted, she walked into the store. I was still feeling lost without my mom. She was the kind of woman everyone looked up to. She was a head-turner, yet she put kindness before looks. Even though I knew it would be hard to navigate this world in this new normal without her, I knew that Natasha would help and support me through my grievances.

"There's a man in her bed"
(Y/n finds out about her mum's new boyfriend and is not happy about it.)
Y/N - 16
Rose - 7
Reader POV:
"Y/n.. y/n wake up!" My little sister Rose shouts. I grumble and roll over "noo please y/n I need your help" with Rose's tone of voice I open my eyes and see the concern on her face "what's the matter Rosie?" I ask "I had a nightmare" that sentence makes me frown usually when Rose has a nightmare she would go and sleep in mums room "where's mum?" "She's sleeping" "then what's the problem? Just sneak into bed with her I doubt you'll wake her up" I explain "there's a man in her bed" Rose whispers quieter than before. This is definitely not what I expected to be hearing at 2:00am. "That's okay Rosie hop in" I say as I open the covers for her, she climbs in and snuggles up to me.
It doesn't take too long for Rose to fall asleep so once I know she's asleep I slowly get out of bed and tiptoe down the hall. I open the door to mum's room carefully not knowing what to expect, as Rose said there was a man in the bed. Before I can leave the room again my mum sits up blinking her eyes to wake herself up she looks at me "I can explain y/n it's not what it looks like." I sigh "go back to sleep Mum it's way too early for this conversation".
Scarlett POV:
Y/n said for me to go back to bed but I couldn't stand going back to sleep knowing that she would be overthinking everything. I carefully get out of bed trying not to disturb Colin whose asleep next to me. As I approach y/n's door I hear soft sobs I gently open her door as not to startle her but before I can even see my daughter's face the door gets slammed shut "get out mum I don't want to talk about it" she cries hysterically breathing. "Y/n let me in I can't leave you when you're like this" "FUCK OFF" she screams, great pretty sure everyone's up now and sure enough I hear a tired Rose asking her sister why she's upset and trying to comfort her. "Rosie can you let me in please baby?" "DON'T OPEN THE DOOR GET BACK IN BED" I don't like the way she's yelling at Rose it's way too aggressive and if I didn't know my daughter I would think that she was going to hurt Rose.
Rose POV:
I woke up to Y/n yelling and crying hysterically I was really worried about her so when mummy told me to open the door I walked towards it but Y/n yelled at me and it was really scary so I ran back to bed like she told me to. I'm trying to keep my crying quiet because I don't want to get into trouble again it's my fault that Y/n woke up if I hadn't came into her room she would still be asleep right now although I don't know why she's so angry with mum all she was doing was sleeping.
Scarlett POV:
Y/n is angry but she is also in the middle of a panic attack and all she wants is to be comforted. "Y/n honey I need you to be able to control your breathing if you open the door I can help you." I can hear her short gasps from behind the door which tells me she's still not able to get enough oxygen into her lungs. She opens the door panicked desperately looking into my eyes as if it's going to magically solve the state she's in. I cup her face and make eye contact as she has already done with me. I slowly lay Y/n down on the floor and encourage her to take some deep breaths as I place her and my hand over her heart and hum 'I still haven't found what I'm looking for' because we watched 'Sing 2' earlier today as that's Rose's favourite movie at the moment. Eventually Y/n calms down and her breaths are deep but also shuddery. "I'm sorry mama, for swearing an- and and" she stutters "hey let's not think about that right now. Let's cosy up with Rose in bed and talk about this in the morning" she agrees so I carry her over to the bed Rose must be so exhausted because she's passed out like a starfish snoring and all, I place Y/n on the other side of the bed and scoot Rosie over before getting myself situated in the middle of the bed and bringing my girls closer to either side of me.
I wake up before the girls, as I head to my room the scent of bacon fills the house so I go into the kitchen instead. As I enter I notice Colin setting up three plates at the dining table. I go behind him and wrap my arms around his stomach "whatcha doing?" "Making breakfast for you and your girls" he smiles "well what about you?" "I'll have something at home" "you don't have to leave" he gives me a 'really?' look "I think I do" "so you heard?" "Yeah, it'll just make things worse if I'm still here when they wake up. Talk to them over breakfast, we can take this slowly anyway but those girls are your priority so as much as I want to be with you whatever you decide about us I'm sure it's for the best." "Thank you Colin, Y/n will come around I'm sure it may take a while but I promise I have no intention on ending things that easy."
After a couple moments in each others embrace we hear one of my children coming down the stairs so Colin rushes a kiss before heading out the back door. Rose walks in and I'm glad it was her because Y/n would have noticed me closing the door and would know that was the guy sleeping in my bed and it would've caused a massive problem. "FOOD!!!" Rose screams oblivious to anything. I smile and plate up Rose's and my food as I don't know when Y/n would be down or how much she'd want to eat, as I'm finishing up placing my food on the table Y/n walks in zombishly. "Hey sweetheart" my voice going up a few octaves "hey.." she gets her food and shortly we're all sitting at the table. Right now might not be the best time for this conversation but I won't be able to deal with the tension throughout the day if we don't talk right now. "So I want to apologise to you girls. As you know someone spent the night last night and his name is Colin." "He's not our Dad" Y/n bitterly mumbles "no he's not and he's not here to replace him. I like Colin a lot but you girls are my priority. Whenever you both feel ready to meet him I'll introduce you to him properly" I explain "okay mama!" Rose agrees before putting her dishes in the washer and running off to play. "Sorry for how I reacted last night Mum" "It's okay but I need you to apologise to Rose later you really scared her. I'm also sorry you had to find out the way that you did but I hope someday you'll meet Colin and grow to love him" "I'm sure we can meet Colin soon, I'm actually excited about it seeing the way you are so happy when you speak about him. I'm going to apologise to Rosie now." She says and is about to take off running "Wait! I love you" I exclaim "I love you too mama" she says and brings me into her embrace.

Reflection (A Short Horror Story)
Hey all! I've got another short horror story for you all, this one is in my opinion one of the best I've written, so let me know what you think!
Have you ever taken time to look at yourself in the mirror? I don’t mean to glance at the mirror to fix up your hair or to shave while looking in the mirror. What I’m asking is if you’ve ever really looked at yourself in the mirror, examined your features, the pores in your skin, the colours in your eyes.
I find that there is something so ethereal about mirrors, something brilliant that everybody takes for granted. I also find that there is something unsettling about them, and from what I’ve read online, other people experience this feeling too. Maybe it’s that the image is reversed and that’s why it doesn’t look quite right, or it could be that the mind becomes confused when it sees itself.
In my case, the reason I find mirrors unsettling is not any of the guesses I have made thus far. I am unsettled by mirrors because of an experience I had as a child, an experience that has never repeated itself, but that scarred me nonetheless.
I was around nine years old at the time, and I was living with my Mum and Dad, my younger brother wasn’t born yet for another two years after this event so I was an only child. We’d only recently moved into a new house and even after a couple of months were still working on unpacking our things.
My Dad came into my room one day, a little before lunchtime and placed a couple of boxes on the ground, he told me that this was the last of my possessions and told me that I should unpack them. I told him I would and once he’d left my room I got to work on unpacking my things.
The majority of the contents of the boxes were the ordinary things any nine-year-old would own, toys and children's books, the latter of which I put on my shelf with little regard for organisation and the first I spent more time playing with than I did unpacking the boxes.
After a long while I had nearly finished unpacking the boxes, I reached into the box and felt the last object that I needed to pack away. It felt cold to the touch like it had just been removed from a freezer, and I couldn’t imagine what it might be, as it didn’t feel like any of my toys, and it certainly wasn’t a book.
I pulled the object out of the box and to my surprise, what I held in my hands was a handheld mirror. It looked old, I’d go so far as to say Victorian-era old, but despite the apparent age, it was clean, not a speck of dust could be found on the thing.
The handle and outer rim were made out of a bluish-white metal and had beautiful, swirling patterns engraved into it that I couldn’t take my eyes off of. I looked into the mirror at my reflection, at first I noticed nothing out of the ordinary, but after looking at it for a few seconds I had a feeling that something was terribly wrong with what I was seeing in the mirror, although I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.
Feeling freaked out, I put the mirror away. For some reason I didn’t want to leave the mirror where my parents might find it, I was worried that they might tell me that the mirror wasn’t for me, and take it away. I didn’t want them to take the mirror. Not one bit, so I hid the mirror underneath my mattress.
After I hid the mirror I mostly forgot that it was there for at least a few weeks. One night, however, I woke up in the middle of the night after I had a nightmare, I don’t remember the exact context of the nightmare, but I remember that it had something to do with my reflection.
Instead of crying and running to my Mum and Dad’s room like I usually would at that age after having a nightmare, I found myself digging around under my mattress and pulling out the strange mirror I had found weeks earlier.
The mirror was still cold to the touch, and although I felt the patterns I’d been so entranced by previously engraved into it, I could not see them in the dark. That’s what I found most strange about it, although I could barely see my hands in front of me in the darkness, when I looked into the mirror the room was illuminated perfectly. Strangely this did not strike me as odd, it made sense in my mind that the mirror would show me my reflection, not caring whether or not there was light.
As I stared into the mirror, I felt that same feeling I had when I first looked into it, that something was terribly wrong, this time however, I did not put the mirror away. I wanted to keep looking, to try and figure out what was wrong with the reflection in the mirror. I moved my head from side to side, examining every object in my room through the reflection shown in the mirror, and it was as I did so that I realised why the mirror had unsettled me so much.
Mirrors reverse the image that is shown in them, if you were to look into one and move your head left to right it would show you moving it right to left, because it isn’t showing what is in front of you, it’s showing what is behind you. But as I moved my head left to right, the mirror too, moved left to right.
As this realisation dawned on me my mouth opened in surprise, but instead of doing what it was supposed to and open its mouth, the reflection in the mirror smiled at me. It smiled at me.
The reflection in the mirror was smiling at me, and it was not a kind smile, it was the most cruel smile I have ever laid eye upon. The smiling face in the mirror that resembled me continued to widen until it was at an impossible length. The face began to warp as the smile stretched and wrapped itself around the reflection.
I could have screamed, but I didn’t feel the need to. What was going on in front of me had the same normality in my mind as the room in the reflection being lit up. I knew it was wrong, I knew I should have been terrified, I’m even terrified recalling it now. Despite this, I did not scream, I did not put down the mirror, and I didn’t throw it across the room and run to my mother and father.
I sat there as the face in the mirror continued to warp. I sat there as the once cold metal began to glow red hot and burn my hand. I sat there throughout the night, in more pain than I’ve ever felt as the mirror burnt my hand. I sat there as my parents screamed at me to snap out of whatever daze I was in and tried to pry the thing from my hands to no avail as I sat there with a death grip around it and a need to stay there and to observe the reflection. It was only when my father took a baseball bat and smashed the horrid thing to pieces that I dropped it.
The mirror lay there on the ground as my parents tried to tend to my hand, ultimately to no avail, the mirror had burnt it to the point that it would never be usable again, it had to be amputated.
I sat there, dazed and in pain, and I smiled.

Dear diary,
School today sucked! Miss Veridian said that since many families are sick, we are moving to be online again! I hated that! I didn’t see Maya today, which was weird. When I told Miss Veridian she looked sad and said Maya is upstate with all the other sick kids. I don’t know what that means. Is it a farm stay over? We had that once. I thought I was going to see Max up there, since Daddy said he would be up state on a farm. But he wasn’t. I still miss Max, even with buddy here now.
Our neighbour, Misses Smith, has been acting very weird lately, she has been getting stronger then every before. Just like her husband before the scary men in green came and took him. Daddy said not to worry and that someone would be there for her soon, I don’t think she is okay, I will sneak over there tomorrow and give her some cookies while mum and dad aren’t home. I don’t want the scary men in green to take her too.
Tomorrow mom and I are going out to pick up my birthday present for my birthday in 4 days! She says I can pick the puppy I want myself after she is done with work! I am so exci Happy that we get to pick up a puppy!
------------------
Dear Diary
I went to see my neighbour Misses Smith, she said she had never felt better but she was very hungry and she thanked me for the cookies, she was very very sweet. I hope she feels better soon.
Mummy and I picked up the sweetest labrador puppy! She is very very sweet and kinda dumb but  I loooooooove her so much and I will help train her! She is my responsibility!
The green men came when me and mummy was gone, I saw them drive away, Misses Smith’s house has been closed and there is yellow tape all over her door. Daddy said not to go in there because the air was toxic, I just hope he doesn’t find out I was in there earlier.
---------------------
Dear Diary
Hiiiiiiii, sooooo, yesterday I went to see misses smith but I feel soooo much better today, I felt a little sick this morning but I feel fine now, better then fine actually! Must be the new puppy. I played catch with her and threw the ball so hard it broke through the fence, daddy and mommy hasn’t seen yet, I don’t want them to see. I overheard them listening to the president on the tv, I didn’t understand much of what he said, but he said something about there being too many sick people but also having hope, whatever it meant had mommy crying. I don’t know why she was crying.
I saw more of the green men walking around outside, there were many families there were sick and had to be removed, mommy said it was a good thing and that we had to wait to be evacuated, that we would be safe, but she cried while it happened so I don’t think she is happy to leave. Maybe she will miss her bed, I know I would miss my bed if we had to evacuate.
But I am happy! And I keep playing with my puppy! I named her Angelica because she is an angel! Daddy said she was more like a demon but I just think that’s because he has to clean up her pee and pop.
---------------------------------
Dear diary!
Guess what! I have been able to taste so much more today and smell it too! There aren’t many of the neighbours left anymore, I miss them and their smell, it lingers in the air, it’s rich and irony, I don’t know why but it is making me very hungry,
I ate a whole bag of bread with peanut butter earlier today, mommy cried when she saw it, I don’t know why but she went to daddy who just held me close and whispered it was going to be okay that I wasn’t going to be scared.
I am fine! I don’t know why they kept saying that. Apparently Miss Viridian has been sick now, so she isn’t teaching us school anymore. That is sad. But I am just happy to have time to play.
----------------------------------
Dear….
When I woke up mommy and daddy were
still asleep in their bed, they smelled very
good and I was very hungry so I had a bite of them. The green men came visiting today but I pretended
no to be home, they didn’t try
and find us inside, but they did think we were homeeeeeeeeeeeee
--------------
Green men scaring me
                      Hunting me
                      So sad
hungry
Sleep sleep
------------------------
The doctor looked at the last two blood covered pages of the young girl’s journal. She had been just another victim of the zombie virus as the prion disease had been dubbed, he had no doubts about the sicks ability to remember things but for such a small body to remain this active since infection…. It spoke to just how much they didn’t know. He looked over at the body laying on the cold metal table, its organs removed and placed in separate jars and despite all over this, the muscles still occasionally spasmed long since rigor mortis was supposed to have set in. Highly interesting.
“Bring in the next body.” He said through the microphone before stood up. He grabbed the child’s arm to begin moving her to the stretcher so they could burn her when instead the bone snapped in two. He looked down at his hand and hummed. “Ah, right, I forgot.”

"MAMA, YOU OKAY?" jacob pointed to the wet spot on the sofa as you looked down and realised what was happening.
"charlie!" you shouted for your husband and he came tumbling down the steps to where you were sitting.
charlie's eyes trailed to the damp cushions and fainted onto the the floor.
"you would think he would be better the second time round," you huffed as ainsley threw her head back in a laugh, helping you onto your feet.
"okay mrs weasley, time to push," the healer stood in front of your spread legs.
"hold my hand?" you asked ainsley and she offered with no hesitation.
"not going to try and wait for charlie?"
"i tried to last time and looked what happened," you rolled your eyes, irritated at your husband.
"alright little mamas, squeeze as hard as you'd like," ainsley kissed the back of your ringed hand.
"awh, it's a girl!" ainsley sqeualed next to you, as the healers cleaned your daughter and you up.
"i'll go get charlie and the boys," ainsley suggested but you stopped her.
"um actually, is there something else you could do for me?"
you were all dressed and dismissed by the healer to go home. you held your daughter in your arms.
and unlike oliver and jacob, she actually looked like you. she had y/h/c with a blonde streak right down the side of her hair. the blonde hair definitely inherited from your father and the rest of her hair from your mother.
you heard a knock on the door and a familiar platinum blonde walked into the room.
"hey," you smiled at draco.
he had grown since the last time you saw him four years ago. his cheeks were more prominent and his shoulders were broader. he looked much healthier than he had did during the war.
"h-hi," draco stuttered and nervously stood next to you, picking at the sides of his trousers, "e-er i got an owl from rosier that you had been admitted here. i thought you were injured."
"hi baby dray," you reached forward with one hand and beckoned him to come closer to you.
you reached you hands up to place your hand on his cheek lovingly, "i missed you. i'm sorry i didn't reach out earlier, i was just worried father would do something to my kids if he found out about them, but i trust you."
tears burned your eyes as you let the overwhelming feeling of missing your brother all these years take over you.
"don't cry y/n, it's okay. i understand," draco placed his hand over yours that was still on his face and reached to kiss your forehead.
"oh. this is little eta draconis weasley," you smiled at your daughter.
"eta draconis a-as in the star in the draco constellation?" draco felt his heart swell.
"of course, named after the most wonderful little brother a girl could ever be blessed to have. want to hold her?"
draco sucked in a breath and looked away so he could wipe the tears before it could roll down his cheek, "please."
you moved aside so draco could have a seat next to you and put eta in his arms.
"look at you, a natural," you leaned your head on your brother's shoulder and placed a kiss on it.
"she's beautiful. she looks just like you." draco cooed and rubbed his nose with eta's to give it an eskimo kiss.
"thank you for trusting me with knowing about your child," draco leaned his cheek on your head.
"children actually," you corrected.
"huh?" draco frowned.
"i have two boys, jacob and oliver. in fact i think i can hear their giggles from the corridor right now."
sure enough, jacob and oliver cam tumbling into the room.
"mummy!" they cheered as they jumped up and down in front of you.
"hello my baby boys," you pulled them up so the could sit on your lap.
"is this baby?" oliver pointed to eta.
"yep, this is baby sister eta. say hello baby eta."
"hello baby eta!"
draco looked at the red headed twins with the same amount of confusion as the way the twins looked at your brother.
"dis baby too?" oliver tilted his head to the side, seeing the similarities between you and draco.
"no ols, this is uncle draco, my brother."
"uncle dwayco?" jacob and oliver said simultaneously.
draco eyes softened at the term and could just burst into tears all over again. but seeing how his brother in law was in the room with him, he decided to bite his cheek and send his nephews a warm smile.
"hi boys," draco waved.
"jacob's the shorter one and oliver's the taller one," you clarified as you let oliver and jacob hop off your lap to play with their dragon figurines on the floor.
"i named her eta weasley, eta draconis weasley," you spoke to charlie for the first time since he had fainted at home.
"after you?" charlie walked closer to draco.
"oh u-uh i'm sorry if you didn't want that, y/n j-just informed me when i entered i didn't know-" draco quickly passed eta over to her father.
"hey, it's okay. it's alright. y/n speaks highly of you all the time, and i trust her judgement. if you are as how she says you are, i'd be beyond grateful for eta and the boys to have an uncle like you." charlie cut draco off before he could continue his ramble.
draco blushed at charlie's words and ducked his head down.
"plus, i fainted again when y/n's water broke so i don't think she'd let me have a say in baby naming." charlie chuckled.
"wait, again?" draco asked.
"exactly! when the twins were born, he fainted and only woke up after i gave birth! absolutely poor coming from you weasley. you would think the second time round you'd be better," you threw him a dirty glare.
draco stood up so he could watch his neice more closely as charlie held onto her.
you admired your baby brother, he was in fact no longer a baby. a young man who finallly overcame his insecurities and self doubt after living under your father's manipulation for years.
you admired your husband, who although was an absolute dickhead for having a habit of passing out when your water broke, standing there awake and healthy, looking at your daughter with the same loving eyes he looked at you with.
you admired eta. your very first daughter. your little mini-me, you precious baby girl you swore would shower with just as much love as you did your first two children.
your sniffles caused draco and charlie to look away from eta and to you.
"y/n...you're crying again," draco giggled at you.
"i know," you wiped your nose, "i'm just so happy right now with you over here, and eta, and charlie, and the twins. my whole's family's here."
draco opened his arms and you practically jumped into them, tucking your head in the crook of her neck.
"group hug!" oliver and jacob ran to hug you and draco's legs.
"can eta and i join?" charlie asked and you removed one arm that was around draco to rope charlie into the embrace.

The cadets are turned into kids and think you and Levi are their parents (2)
Here is PART 2 of this!
MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
— You were mad at them.
Since the cadets turned into kids you were more stressed than usual – between taking care of them all, doing your paperwork in time and helping Hange with theirs, it was a lot. Adding to this, your sleeping hours were cut in half as well due to kids never sleeping. You were overwhelmed and on edge, ready to snap at any moment.
“Levi,” you called him after lunch, “can you watch over the kids for a few hours? I–.” you took a deep breath, “I just have to take a bath and rest a little bit… it won’t be long!”
“Of course, take your time.” Levi kissed your forehead before leaving your room.
Levi went to the children’s room while you went to relax a bit.
“Where’s mommy?” Eren asked when Levi came in alone.
“She’ll come later.”
“I want mommy now!” Jean shouted frowning.
“Stop whining or she won’t come here at all.” Levi told them which made them all shut up.
They continued to play together when Jean came to Levi. He struggled to climb on the couch but succeeded and sat on Levi’s lap. He turned around so he could face Levi and asked.
“When is mommy coming here?”
“I don’t know.” Levi answered calmly.
“Play with us then!” Jean pouted. “Come with us.” Jean stood on Levi’s lap when Levi ignored him.
“No. Sit down or leave.” Levi told him in a harsh tone. “No, don’t cry.” Levi’s voice softened when he saw Jean’s tears. “I’ll come and play ok? Just… don’t cry.” Levi stood up with Jean in his arms.
For a few hours, Levi had to play dolls with the kids who were really into it – imagining complex stories, doing voices etc. It was dinner time when they all started to get tired of playing.
“Where’s mommy?” Armin asked shyly.
“Aren’t you all hungry?” Levi quickly changed the subject.
“Yay!” they all shouted.
“I’ll go grab something to eat then, don’t move.” Levi ordered before leaving the room.
When Levi left the room, Eren stood up and told the others that he was going to look for you. Sasha, Connie, Mikasa and Armin were against the idea knowing that Levi would not be happy about it, then there was Jean who agreed with Eren.
“Fine, we’ll leave without you!” Eren opened the door with difficulty.
Mikasa quickly followed Eren and Jean as well as Armin because lately, Armin got the habit of following or imitating Jean. Wherever Jean went, Armin would follow – whatever Jean was doing, Armin would do the same. Jean felt irritated when Armin follow or copied him, but he never said anything. He did once – the first time – and Armin cried which made Jean felt bad and he swore never to make Armin cry again.
“Where is mommy?” Armin asked.
“I don’t know.” Eren said.
“Just go to her room.” Mikasa commented.
They all run to your room and it was not locked. You were trying to sleep in your bed after a few hours of work when you suddenly heard the kids yelling.
“Mommy!” Jean yelled, jumping in your bed.
Meanwhile, Levi immediately regretted his decision when he came back to only two kids out of six. He asked them where the rest of them went and Sasha told him that they were looking for you. Levi took them with him and directly went to your room. Armin and Mikasa were clinging onto you while Jean and Eren were shouting and jumping on the bed.
“Stop jumping on the bed or you’ll break it!” you desperately tried to stop them.
“Eren! Jean! Stop.” Levi ordered in a harsh tone which made them immediately stop. “Y/N,” Levi said more softly, “are you ok?”
“Is mommy sick?” Sasha asked.
“No.” you said.
“Then come play us!” Eren shouted.
“Stop screaming.” you warned him. “And let go of me.” you told Armin and Mikasa but none of them listened to you.
“Kids, come here and let’s go.” Levi tried.
“NO!” Eren shouted loudly, “MOMMY! Come play with us!”
“Mommy!” Jean joined Eren.
“Stop calling me that!” you shouted back which made everyone shut up, “I am not your mother so all of you… just –.” you felt tears falling down, “stop.”
“Mommy?” Mikasa whispered worried.
“I heard shouting outside.” Erwin came in. “What’s happening?” he asked worried.
“Take the kids with you.” Levi said. “And close the door please.”
Erwin did not questioned Levi’s request and took the kids with him in his office. None of the kids wanted to leave you, but Erwin easily took them in his arms. Levi walked to you and wrapped his arms around you.
“Hey, it’s ok.” Levi murmured. “Let’s sit down.”
Levi brought you to bed and sat next you and let you cry on his shoulder. He would just hold you close to him until you stopped crying.
“I feel like shit.” you sobbed. “The kids probably hate me by now too.”
“They don’t.”
“Did you hear what I said? Th-they’re kids! And I- I just yelled at them.” you lamented, “I am the worst mother ever, and they’re not even my real kids!”
“I’m sure everything will work out.”
Erwin on his way to his office with the children saw Hange and brought them with him. Erwin, with Hange’s help, tried to cheer the kids up but they would not stop crying – they wanted to be with you and Levi.
“Is mommy going to leave us?” Armin sobbed.
“No!” Erwin said quickly.
“Y/N, she loves you all very much.” Hange said. “But you have to understand that she was… mh… very tired and she had a lot of work to do.”
“And sometimes,” Erwin continued, “you just have to let that person alone.”
“We have to leave mommy?” Connie asked.
“Yes,” Hange said, “but not forever. It would just be for a day so she can rest.”
“Is mommy not going to be our mommy because we made her upset?” Jean asked shyly.
“No, of course not.” Erwin reassured them. “I’m sure she’ll come back soon.”
Erwin and Hange stayed with the kids until night before Levi came in to put them to bed. Once they cleaned up and changed, they all went to bed without protest.
“Ok, I’ll turn off the lights.” Levi walked out.
“Daddy.” Armin called him before he closed the door, “Is mommy not going to say goodnight to us?”
“She’s n –.” Levi thought about it, “I’ll go and ask her.”
Levi came back to your room and you were already laying in bed, comfortably installed under the blanket. Levi sat next to you and rested his head on your stomach.
“The kids want to see you.”
“Aren’t they upset?” you worried, putting your hand through his hair.
“No, they’re just… they want to see you.”
“I should go then.” you stood up. “I’ll be right back.” you kissed him before leaving.
You walked very quickly toward the kids room and when you opened the door, you noticed they were all still up even though the lights were off. Sasha was the first one to see you and she jumped out of the bed to hug you.
“Hey.” you smiled, kneeling down. “Aren’t you sleepy?”
“No.” Sasha smiled.
“Let’s go back to bed alright?”
You sat down on the bed next to all the kids – they were all staring at you, waiting for you to talk first.
“I’m sorry about what happened earlier.” you apologised. “I should never have yelled at you kids.”
“Don’t stop being my mommy please.” Eren frowned.
“We’re sorry mommy.” Jean said with teary eyes.
“No don’t be.” you comforted them, “I love you all very much.” you smiled.
You opened your arms and they all came to hug you, smiling and happy.
— They sleep between you two — captain dad and squad leader mum.
Armin:
Armin had a nightmare about you leaving for an expedition and not coming back to him. He had Levi coming back devastated and not talking to him or anyone. A stranger – someone from your squad – had to tell him the news that you were never coming back. He woke up panicked and ran to your room. You and Levi agreed that the doors to your room would always be opened if there were any problems.
“Mommy! Daddy!” Armin came in crying.
“Armin?” Levi woke up. “Hey what’s wrong?” he put Armin between you too.
“What’s wrong?” you asked still half asleep.
“Mommy!” Armin cried next to you which woke you up instantly.
“What happened?” you panicked. “Armin, it’s ok.” you patted his head, “I’m here.”
“You didn’t come back.” Armin sobbed.
“What?” you whispered looking at Levi.
“I don’t know.” Levi mouthed.
“Armin,” you wiped his tears away, “what happened?”
“Bad dream.” Armin sobbed harder. “You were n-not here and daddy was s-sad! An-and he wasn’t w-with me!”
“Armin, it’s ok.” you reassured him, “I’m here and daddy’s here too.”
Levi laid on the bed and put Armin next to him. You took the blanket and put it on the three of you and soon enough, Armin calmed down and fell back asleep. In the morning, Armin was found to be sleeping on top of Levi, with his hand resting on Armin’s back so he would not fall.
“This is too much for my heart.” you whispered to yourself.
Jean:
Jean had been feeling slightly sick for the past couple of days but did not tell anyone. He stayed in bed when it was time to eat dinner and you were worried at first which made you bring him dinner but he was asleep already. You brought back the tray and gave it to the kids who were not against the idea of eating more.
Jean woke up in the middle of the night, still slightly sick and extremely hungry. He discreetly go out of bed and went to your room. When Jean came in, he noticed lights were still on – Levi was still awake, probably working.
“Daddy?” Jean asked timidly. Which startled Levi.
“What are you still doing up at this hour?” Levi whispered, scared to wake you up.
“I’m hungry.” Jean admitted.
“Come here.” Levi put away his papers.
Levi took him in his arms and put him on the bed between you two which woke you up.
“Mh. What’s wrong?” you mumbled.
Jean turned his head toward Levi so he could answer for him.
“Jean’s hungry.” Levi said.
“Mh – I’m up.” you dragged yourself out of bed slowly. “I’m going to bring you some food alright?” you patted Jean’s head and noticed his forehead was a little hot. “Are you sick Jean?” you asked worried.
“No.” Jean answered.
“Jean, don’t lie. Are you sick?” Levi asked again.
“I don’t know.” Jean said looking at his hands playing with the blanket.
“Jean,” you said softly, “it’s ok. I’ll go and bring some hot tea too alright?”
You went to the kitchen and prepared some food and started to boil some water as well. You took two cups – one for Jean and another for Levi - and poured some water in it with the tea leafs. You put the smashed potatoes and the vegetables on a plate and put everything on a tray before going back to your room. Levi started to feed Jean while you prepared a cold towel for Jean.
“Jean, what did you forget earlier?” Levi said when you came back.
“Thank you mommy!” Jean smiled.
“You’re welcome baby.” you smiled back.
When Jean finished eating, Levi offered to cleaned it up while you put Jean to sleep. You thanked him and went back to bed. You put the cold towel on Jean’s forehead and laid next to him.
“You can sleep now.” you rest your hand on Jean stomach.
“Good night mommy.”
“Good night.”
“Good night daddy!” Jean said when Levi came back to bed.
Eren:
Just like Armin, Eren had a nightmare that night. When he first woke up, he tried to go back to sleep because he did not want to bother you nor Levi. But after thirty minutes of trying, he went to your bedroom. This time, both of you were asleep.
Eren hesitated a second about whether he should wake you up or not. He quickly decided not to and laid on the floor. Levi woke up not too long after Eren came in because he was thirsty. He only noticed Eren’s presence when he came back from the kitchen.
“Y/N.” Levi whispered
“Mmh?”
“Eren’s on the ground.”
“Mh.” you mumbled, “What?” you asked again a minutes later – your eyes wide open.
“Look.” Levi pointed at Eren.
“What is he doing on the ground?”
“I don’t know.”
“Bring him here.” you told Levi.
“You do it.” Levi argued.
“I’ll wake him up.”
“And I won’t?”
“You never did when I used to fell asleep in your office.” you reminded him.
“Fine.”
Levi miraculously brought Eren on the bed without waking him up and put him between you two. During the night, Eren ended up on Levi’s left side meaning Levi was in the middle. While he had his arms around Eren – so he would not fall – you had yours around Levi.
— Sasha and Connie would often sneak out and sleep with you and Levi.
— Mikasa never did. When she had nightmares she would only hug her teddy bear closer. She was scared to bother you. Once she did wake Sasha up and slept closer to her.
——————————
Shorter Stories
— Mikasa was known to be always quiet – she was afraid to bother people especially you or Levi. Even when she was hurt, she would stay quiet. Once during a meeting, she accidentality cut herself with a piece of paper. It was Eren, ten minutes later who had to tell you.
“Next time, you tell me immediately ok?” you told Mikasa as you cleaned the cut.
“I’m sorry.”
“What for?”
“You had to leave for me.” Mikasa explained.
“You are more important than the meeting, so next time just tell me alright?”
Mikasa only nodded and followed you back to the meeting.
— Jean is known to be a momma’s boy – he would always stay with you and play with you rather than Levi. He often cried when you had to leave without them. He loved to be held by you, he knew how to walk perfectly, but he would rather stay with you.
“Stop spoiling him.” Levi would often say to you.
“I can’t help it. Jean is adorable!”
When others were watching over the kids, you were the one Jean would be asking for, not Levi which surprised you when Hange came because Jean hurt himself while playing.
“Jean’s at the infirmary – nothing serious though!” Hange quickly added.
“I’ll go.” you stood up.
“Mh…” Hange stopped you, “he asked for Levi.”
“Are you sure?” you asked them.
“Yes.”
“Oh,” you gasped dramatically, “did you hear that?”
“What?” Levi asked ready to leave.
“My heart being broken by that kid.” you threw yourself back to bed.
When Jean got better, he immediately came back to you. You tried to be mad at Jean – in a playful way – but when you saw him nearly crying, you apologised and let him stay with you.
— The kids were staying with you in the morning, and it was decided that Levi would watch them after lunch because you had work to do with your squad. You were holding Eren in your arms and he refused to let go of you when Levi arrived.
“I want to stay with mommy please!” Eren cried holding onto you.
“Eren,” you calmed him down, “I will be back really quick, I promise.”
“Noo!” Eren cried as Levi took him.
Eren was desperately trying to hold your arms, but Levi was swift. Eren leaned over and grabbed your hair and pulled it which made you scream and lose your balance.
“Eren!” Levi yelled putting him down. “Y/N, are you ok?” he knelt down.
“I’m fine.” you reassured him, “it’s ok.”
“Mommy?” Eren hesitated.
“Eren,” Levi started, “go to your room with the others.” but Eren did not move, “right now!” Levi ordered.
“Levi.” you put your hands on his face, “I’m ok.” you turned to Eren who was now crying silently. “Eren, it’s ok, I’m fine.”
“’M sorry mommy!”
“It’s ok, now go with daddy and listen to him ok?”
Eren nodded and took Levi’s hand and left.
“Sorry daddy.” Eren sobbed.
“Mh.” Levi answered. “Don’t ever do that again am I clear?”
“Never!”
——————————
Short HCs:
— Sasha’s birthday happened that year when they were still kids. You all baked a cake together.
— Connie would often draw pictures of you all as a family during meetings.
— Erwin loved staying with the kids. He would often put them to bed.
— Hange loved the kids too – they would always play with them outside with Moblit, Mike and Nanaba.

---
Harry was quite stressed out. He wasn’t sure how his wife did it all the time. She was constantly packing up Sasha and toting her around the globe to meet up with him for concerts and events when he was away.
The little family had been staying in their Los Angeles home for nearly three months now as Harry had been writing for his third solo album. It involved a lot of late nights were Y/N were putting Sasha to bed by herself.
Harry was eternally grateful that she was so patient and understanding when he snuck into bed quarter past three after finding a rift that fit a new song perfectly or when Mitch had an idea that had Harry on Skype for hours with him.
The stress was overwhelming for her though. She was usually good at self-care and taking time for herself but Sasha had been so needy lately and crabby when her father wasn’t at her beck and call.
The toddler was going through a bout where she struggled to sleep through the night and had a tendency to scream bloody murder when she didn’t get her way.
It was nearly three weeks of this and she hadn’t mentioned it too much to Harry because she didn’t want him to be as stressed out as she was.
Tonight, Y/N had rocked, sang, hummed, and read to her daughter to stop the angry tears that were rolling down her cheeks but nothing was working. It was near eleven at night and she had took Sasha out in the car for a long ride where she finally fell asleep.
But as soon as Y/N unlocked the front door, she startled awake even angrier than before, squirming out her mother’s grip and bolting through the house. When she tried to round a corner, she slipped on her bum.
Y/N felt her anxiety level break.
Sasha began screaming once again, “Mummy! No! No!”
When Y/N picked her up after her slight tumble, she was absolutely not hurt but had become even more frustrated. Y/N was starting to feel overwhelmed - which didn’t happen often.
“Baby, what do you want? What can mummy do?” Y/N asks with desperation, searching her baby’s watery green eyes. She looked so much like her dad it was absurd.
“No! Down! Stop!” The two year old orders with a furrowed brow, lips in a tight line with her nose scrunched up in displeasure.
“Sasha, you just hurt yourself. You can’t run in the house, the floor is slippery,” Y/N tells her firmly despite it falling upon deaf ears.
“Bad mummy,” Sasha shrieks, “Daddy! Want Daddy! Now!”
Y/N is embarrassed to admit that she has tears welling up in her eyes. She was trying everything in her power to soothe her baby. It’s midnight at this point and she’d been at it since seven this morning.
Sasha had refused a nap all day - giving Y/N no respite at all. Harry had left at eight in the morning and hadn’t returned yet. Even though Sasha was only two and a half, Y/N felt a pang at the words ‘bad mummy.’
She didn’t feel any other option at this point than to call Harry for help. She wanted to be capable of being at stay home mum but sometimes it was really fucking hard but she felt guilty because she should be able to do this. Harry was out there working hard, providing, constantly.
When he doesn’t answer, the tears freely start streaming down her face in silence. She scrubs at them quickly so that her daughter doesn’t see them but it’s hard to catch them all - sobs threatening to bubble through her lips.
“Daddy’s working, we need to go to sleep,” Y/N replies to her daughter, jaw clenched to hold back the upset she feels. She needs a minute alone but she doubts her toddler will let her.
“Pool?” Sasha piques, “Swim?”
Y/N wants to laugh, it’s so fucking late and Sasha should have been in bed nearly four hours ago. The mother was so beyond her routine at this point, that she actually just gave in to her daughter.
Sasha’s mood turns around when Y/N wrangles them both into their swimsuits ***and trails out of the back patio, switching on all the lights around as well as in the pool. The California air was still extremely warm, enough to cause a sweat. ***
She tugs a little donut raft into the pool with them that Sasha can float around on while Y/N guides it to keep her safe. She was so tired by this point that her bones felt like they weighed a million pounds.
Sasha’s eyes droop until they finally flutter close within minutes of being in the warm water. Her eyelids splotchy pink from all of the fits and tears from the day. And when she is completely asleep, Y/N lets herself cry as she continues to float the baby around the pool to keep her asleep.
She hasn’t been doing it for more than ten minutes when the patio door opens and Harry is stepping into the back with a confused expression that she can’t see because her back is turned to him.
“Love, why are you in the pool? S’late,” Harry asks softly but he doesn’t get an answer, so he’s slipping out of his plain tee and striped pants, dirty vans kicked to the side ***.
Just in his briefs, he quietly enters the pool to not disrupt the ebb and flow of the water. When he makes his way over to her, he slides in front of his wife, alarmed at the exhausted, tearful expression on her face.
“Baby, what’s happened? Talk t’me,” Harry whispers, hands coming to cup his wife’s face in between his large hands. Rings cold against her hot, wet cheeks. He looks to his sleeping daughter, running his eyes over her a few times and decides she seems completely okay.
“M’fine,” Y/N chokes out but the lie causes a fresh wave of tears.
Harry frowns, “Don’t lie to me, pet. Please, don’t shut me out. M’always here for you.”
“I’m a bad mum,” She sobs silently, her eyes closing as she leans into his palms before moving to rest her head heavily on the crook of his tattooed shoulder, his chest damp from the salty tears.
“Wha-What’s brought this on? Y’the best mum in the world, best wife in the world. The best at everythin’, why are you doubtin’ that, my heart?” Harry murmurs, taking over the rocking motions of Sasha’s raft.
“She wouldn’t settle today, Harry. Like at all, refusing to nap, eat any healthy food, or bathe. She screamed at me the whole day no matter what I did and then she told me I was bad and she wanted you.”
“Love, she’s in the midst of her terrible twos. She loves you more than anythin’ on this earth. Y’her mummy and a damn good one at that. Why didn’t y’call me? I’d come home, work is never more important than our family.”
Y/N doesn’t bring up the fact she did try to call, “I need to be able to do this myself, Harry. M’a stay at home mum, taking care of Sash is literally my only job and I can’t even do that.”
Harry’s face hardens but he tries to not take it personally, knowing his wife is just upset with herself, “That’s not fair to me, dove. M’her daddy, she’s half mine too. She’s just as much of my responsibility as yours, no matter what my job is.”
“I don’t want to stress you out more than necessary,” Y/N mutters into his skin.
“Me coming home to my wife in tears and my baby in the pool at midnight is more stressful than you ringin’ me to come home,” Harry tells her, smearing a few kisses to the top of her hair.
“I’m sorry for worrying you. I’m just tired.”
Harry pulls her back so he can look her in the eyes, “Never apologize for somethin’ like that. Go get a bath and let me put the bub to sleep, okay? I love y’mumma.”
--
Harry calls his mum the next morning while Y/N is out getting a manicure with Glenne. He’d called her favorite salon earlier in the day, coercing them into opening a spot for her with a monetary bribe.
Y/N had hesitated at the door as Sasha threw a fit at her mother leaving the house. She clung onto her calf until Harry had to physically pull her off and hold her tightly in his arms.
Currently, Sasha was playing with a set of dolls on the floor of her bedroom as Harry sat next to her. She’d originally been happy with the presence of her father until he told her he needed to make a phone call.
Harry had to be stern with her when she went to grab at the phone pressed to his ear, gently gripping her wrist and frowning, “We don’t do that, s’not nice.”
Sasha had attempted to grab at it again and managed to tangle Harry’s long locks into his fist, tugging at them. Harry unraveled the small fingers before telling his daughter, “If you do that one more time, y’going on the step for two minutes.”
The threat had her pouting harshly but turning back to her toys to occupy herself, sighing when his mum finally answered the phone, “Hi darling.”
“Hi mum, you alright?” Harry asks, relaxing at the sound of his mother’s melodic voice.
“I’m perfect, you don’t sound okay, dear,” Anne replies with a concerned twinge.
Harry didn’t call much to complain, didn’t like worrying her and most of the time Y/N was able to provide the support he needed or Jeff.
“Y/N’s really overwhelmed,” Harry tells her before choking up a bit, “And I don’t know what to do mum, I feel like m’bein’ a bad husband. Came home to her crying last night and she feels like she’s a bad mum.”
When Sasha hears her father’s voice crack, she looks up at him curiously before recognizing that he’s upset. She crawls into his lap, fitting herself against his chest before playing with a doll there. Comforting him.
Harry wraps his free arm around her, pulling her as close as possible. His precious little baby. A little blessing as sweet as her mother.
“Oh honey, that happens. Mums, good mums especially are so critical when they don’t need to be. Baby’s are overwhelming, plus I know she’s been alone a lot with her. But you’re not a bad husband, dear.”
“It feels like it,” Harry sniffles, burying his face in his daughter’s lavender-scented curls from her bath earlier.
“If you were, you wouldn’t be calling,” Anne chuckles at her son, “Now how can we make this situation better?”
-
The phone call helped Harry not feel so hopeless in helping his wife. He’d come up with the plan to fly to England with Sasha so that Anne could see her but Y/N could have some alone time for a long weekend.
When Y/N enters the front door after her appointment, she’s met by a very excited little human who rushes to her mother and demands to be picked up. Of course, Y/N obliges, looking a bit more refreshed and awake as she tucks the baby against her hip.
Harry had ordered their favorite salads from a shop in the city and had it ready for her, “Oh, looks delicious. Thank you, H,” She smiles at him, leaning to give his stubbly cheek a kiss.
As they dig in, Y/N feeding bits of chicken and veggies to her daughter as they eat, Harry clears his throat, “I’m taking Sash to Holmes Chapel for the long weekend to see my mum.”
Y/N smiles, “That sounds great!”
Harry gives her a perplexed look, he’d thought she’d put up a fight. She despised being away from Sasha - couldn’t go a day without seeing her daughter.
“Really?” Her husband asks, putting down his fork.
“Mhm, I just have to pack a bag for Sash and I. When are we leaving?” Y/N replies eagerly, ready to go back home and get away from California for a bit.
Harry’s stomach clenches, “Erm, I meant just me and the baba? I thought you could stay here and relax for a weekend. Sleep, hang out, shop.”
Y/N’s face falls and is replaced with a devastated look, “You don’t think I’m being a good mum.”
Harry backpedals, realizing he shouldn’t have approached it in the lax way he did.
“No, no, of course not, baby. I think you’re such a good mum that you need a break. You never get breaks, m’the one who always does. S’not fair to you. I just need you to have some time to take care of yourself,” Harry explains, his heart shattering a bit at the tears brimming again.
“I don’t want a break, don’t leave me here,” Y/N begs, tucking a piece of tomato in her daughter’s expectant mouth before Sasha chews and smiles at her mother.
“Mummy, more please?” Sasha chirps, her mood a little bit brighter than it had been the last few days.
“Thank you for using your manners, here baby,” Her mother responds, popping another into her mouth after she sliced it in half.
“Did you book a commercial flight?” She asks her husband with an angry tone.
“No, private but we have to catch it at LAX,” Harry explains, the private airport they usually fly out of was filled to capacity at the moment.
“Either I’m coming or you’re going alone. You’re not taking Sasha without me,” Y/N replies firmly. She stands up and shuffles Sasha into his lap before leaving the room without another word.
Harry didn’t expect that. He should have thought it through more. If Y/N wanted to come, of course she could, but he’d never meant to offend her or act like he was taking Sasha away from her.
--
Harry had attempted to reason his way out of going to the studio with Jeff today. However, with the final cuts and adjustments were being made - he was quickly turned down and demanded in the studio.
When he’d trailed into the quiet house that night, relieved to find his baby in her crib instead of the pool, he went to his bedroom where the lights were still on.
The closet doors were open and Y/N was on the ground folding and sorting Sasha’s clothes before placing them in her suitcase. ***
Y/N’s suitcase already laying zipped and ready to go by the entrance of the closet. Her toiletry bag was placed neatly on top of it. Then his heart pings a bit when he sees that she’s already packed up his suitcase as well.
Harry pads over to his wife, plopping down behind her and tugging her back into him - long arms wrapping around her upper chest.
“Missed you, mumma.”
She hums, “I missed you too. Miss you always.”
“Y’the love of my life, y’know that?” Harry asks, kissing the back of her neck.
“I better be or you married the wrong person,” Y/N laughs softly, her tone still off but lighter than before.
“Married the right person, knocked up the right person.”
Y/N barks out a laugh, rolling her eyes, “How romantic.”
“Baby, y’know what I’m getting at. You’re the best mum and wife. I just wanted you to have a few days to yourself. To lower your stress level and let you do some self-care,” Harry murmurs, pushing the baby clothes out of her hands.
“But your mum can watch her for a bit while we’re there, right? I don’t want alone time, I need the exact opposite. I need company,” She tells him, twisting herself until she’s seated in his lap - straddling him.
“Mmm, can definitely have some alone time,” Harry agrees instantly, his mouth finding her throat - beginning to lay a path of wet, hot kisses down the column down to her collarbones.
“H, I have t’pack, we’re leaving tomorrow morning,” Y/N weakly argues but can’t help but bear down against her husband when she feels him harden in his loose pants quickly.
“S’just a quickie? Yeah, pet? Lemme fuck you,” Harry’s hands dragging the shirt she’s wearing up and over her head. Eyes lighting up boyishly when he realizes she didn’t have a bra on.
She can’t argue as he darts down to wrap his lips around her pert bud, sucking between long swipes of his tongue - just how she liked it. “Missed y’body so much,” Harry states against her heated skin.
“Just had me two days ago,” Y/N laughs but it cuts off into a moan when his hand slides into her pajama shorts and finds her clit over her thin underwear.
“Never enough,” Harry replies easily, “Remember the song I wrote f’you?”
Y/N snarkily asks, “Which one? Nearly all your songs are about me.”
And well...Harry can’t even argue how true her statement is. “The one titled ‘Never Enough’, pet? Remember?”
Before she can speak, he lowly croons out the chorus of the song he wrote for One Direction years ago, “Lips so good I forget my name. I swear I would give you everything. It’s never enough, never enough.”
Harry knows his sweet as syrup singing gets her immensely turned on and so he’s not surprised when she whimpers against his lips, “Fuck me, c’mon.”
He’s delighted at his wife’s pleas and quickly moves them, leaning forward with her until she’s on her back on the ground of their walk-in closet. He accidentally kicks over a pile of Sasha’s dresses but neither even notice.
There is no time wasted as Harry removed every single article from Y/N’s body quickly as well as his own. He’s leaning forward to suck a few more kisses to her chest as his fingers slip down to crook right up into her hot center.
“No teasing,” Y/N complains, wrapping hands around his biceps and bringing him on top of her more fully. She’s squeezing around his two fingers with need, it has him groaning when he brings them up and sucks them between his pouty lips.
Then she’s not waiting any longer, reaching down and grabbing a hold of his thick length. Harry lets out rumble from his chest at the contact before she’s guiding him into her without any further ado.
“Baby,” Harry chastises as soon as she starts goading him into thrusts with her feet against him bum, pushing him into her harder than he’d usually start, “Y’squeezin’ me s’tight, you missed me too?”
Y/N nods, whining every time he pushes against her spot and sends a zip of arousal through her body. His trimmed hair around his base brushing against her clit causing delicious friction for her.
“No, y’need to tell me,” Harry huffs, hand gripping her jaw harsher than he would if they were having slow, intimate sex. He knew she loved it by the way her eyes twinkle with stubbornness.
“No,” She replies coyly, heels of her feet pressing hard against him to the point it itches with a slight pain. Harry loved his wife so much it was looney.
“It’s fine, don’t need y’to come for me to get off, dove,” Harry replies simply, speeding up his thrusts with his hand holding her jaw for him to press bruising kisses against. His teeth are coming to pull her bottom lip in between.
Something switches in her demeanor though without warning, her voice softer and pliant, “Tell me you love me.”
It has Harry slowing down his hips until he’s rocking deeper into her, going down on his elbows so their noses are bumping. He releases the grip of her chin and instead moves to her bum to encourage her to meet him halfway.
“I love you, s’much it hurts most days,” Harry replies obediently, knowing what his wife needed at that moment. Reassurance. “Most beautiful thing I’ve ever laid eyes on, then you made us a perfect little baby.”
She’s looking up at him with loving, grateful eyes, landing a gentle peck to his upper lip and letting her head fall back onto the floor. This is what she needed right now from her husband and he was so good at providing.
“Breaks my heart when y’don’t think your a good mum or wife. ‘Cause you’re everythin’ I ever wanted. Why’d you think I write every song about you, lovie? S’cause you’re my soulmate.”
“H,” She whimpers, emotion thick in her throat as she meets his eyes, “I love you so much. You’re the best husband and dad ever.”
“Baby,” Harry murmurs into her cheek, picking up speed as she starts to clench around him in a warning of her oncoming orgasm. He slips his hand down to press a few light rubs to her clit before she’s arching her back and moaning with pleasure.
“You look s’good, coming ‘round my cock,” Harry tells her, helping her ride through it before hitching her hips up even further and thrusting harshly until his hips stutter and he’s coming as well.
“Harry,” Y/N sighs, her breathing coming back to normal as she roams a hand down his shoulders and back - scratching lightly.
“Hmm, dove? Y’want my cock again? Need a few,” He replies into her neck, ever the teenage boy.
She giggles, “No, we have to catch a flight at eight in the morning and it’s currently four-thirty.”
Harry grunts before pulling out and sitting up, “Y’better have packed my favorite pajama pants or I’m goin’ to be cross with you.”
--
Y/N now regrets the second round of fun as soon as their alarm goes off. Her body sore from the position he’d twisted her into against the shower wall after they packed the rest of Sasha necessities.
They were nearly at the airport with Sasha nodding back off in the carseat. She was excited to see her Nana and Aunt Gemma once again.
Their daughter was in the cutest, comfiest jumpsuit with comic hearts all over it *** and adorable little sock sneakers*** that slide right on and off her feet.
Harry had chucked on black sunglasses, a black jumper with green lettering, black joggers, and blue checkered van with white socks. He was attempting to fly under the radar as much as possible because he knew paparazzi just sit outside the entrances to spot celebrities. ***
It was annoying but he could deal with it when he was mobbed at the airport when he was by himself. But when it was with his wife and baby - he couldn’t stomach it. It’s part of the reason they fly private from a private port.
When they pull up to the curb, a staff member is waiting for them and helps Harry as well as the driver put his luggage on a cart to be brought to the awaiting jet.
Y/N unbuckles the baby who is awake now but bleary-eyed as she’s sitting on the curve of her mother’s hip.
And well - that’s when the madness begins. A pap spots them within seconds of exiting the car and is pulling up his camera for the first shots, the other photographers sitting around follow suit.
As soon as one of them screams, “Harry Styles - look this way!” The jam packed area looks towards them, seeming fans of his start murmuring before following behind the paparazzi pulling their phones out.
Y/N is used to the crowds by now - but just like Harry, not with Sasha around. They tried to avoid situations like this as much as possible. The lights and loud noises were scary to the little girl.
“Mummy,” Sasha whines, picking her head up from her mother’s shoulder to stare wide-eyed at the gathering in front of them.
Harry started to feel anxiety because this was becoming a massive crowd - scratch that, it wasn’t a crowd it was a fucking mob of people. They were all too close, blinding the family with their flashes despite security attempting to push them back.
Fans were shoving and thrusting their phones in Harry’s face, shoving random things for him to sign in front of him. Paparazzi were screaming questions and taking thousands of pictures in a minute’s time.
Harry grabs onto Y/N’s hand tightly, their diaper bag on Harry’s shoulder, and begins to attempt to guide them through the swarm. It was like trying to move through cement, the crowd not budging despite security’s screams.
Sasha is full blown crying at this point into her mother’s neck. Y/N’s hand cupping the back of her head to keep her head down and out of the photographs - holding her as tightly as possible.
Y/N can hear Harry began to curse - signaling that he’s becoming stressed out because he would usually never be rude to the public despite their actions. But he couldn’t give a fuck when it came to his family.
“Move out of the way.”
“D’you not see I have a fuckin’ baby?”
“Get those fuckin’ cameras out of their faces.”
“Back the fuck away from my wife and baby.”
Then Y/N is being shoved by a teenage girl who trips when she thrusts her arm towards Harry. She tumbles into Y/N with her full weight and Y/N’s loses her footing, falling forward - letting go of Harry’s hand.
When she falls, she manages to catch herself with the arm that’s not holding her daughter. But she feels pain in her knees and Sasha emits a sharp wail that alerts Y/N her daughter is hurt.
“Sash, fuck,” Y/N gasps, her motherly instincts automatically kicking in and she’s cradling her daughter as tightly to her chest as she can, shielding her from the swarm who had quieted only a bit.
It must take Harry a second to realize that something had happened, he turns around - eyes frantic as he absolutely roars, “Back the fuck up! I’ll fuckin’ break each and everyone of your cameras! Fucking leeches.”
With that, he’s helping to pull you up and grasping at the two, “Are you okay? Wha’s hurt?”
Y/N just shakes her head, having a panic attack as she shuffles the crying baby into his arms. “Please, just...Sasha. I think she hurt her arm when I fell.”
“Daddy, ouch,” Sasha shrieks loudly into his sweatshirt as he hikes her up onto his chest, her little legs wrapped around his midsection.
“Ssh, y’okay,” Harry tries to reassure her, matching his wife’s panic.
The crowd seems to give way now, the parents rushing their daughter into the airport.
Employees guide them to the medical office on-site where it’s now silent and calm but the family feels anything but.
Sasha’s sobs have turned into moans and whimpers at this point - but come back with a vengeance when Harry has to set her on the exam table and wrestle her out of her clothes until she’s just sat in her diaper.
The nurse was so amazing and kind. She checked Sasha thoroughly for any signs of trauma or broken bones but luckily, it was just a nasty scrape on her forearm that was hurting her. It wasn’t anything serious.
The parents had such concern for their daughter that Y/N didn’t even realize she had bled through her white joggers at the knees ***. The nurse frowns, “Honey, you’re still bleeding.”
“I’m fine,” She insisted even though her knees were aching.
“I’d like to examine your legs, dear,” The nurse tells her sternly, signaling that Harry can dress Sasha again.
He’s digging into the diaper bag for a spare out that they were always ready with. She was calming even more when Harry dressed her in a comfy pink set of clothes with little deer on them. ***
“Love, please let her,” Harry asks softly, pulling Sasha back onto his chest. Her thumb tucked into her mouth and her father hands her a plushie that Y/N had shoved in the bag last minute.
Y/N obliges with the pressure, wiggling the loose fabric down her legs until she’s just in her underwear and shirt - sits up on the table with her knees off to the side for her to examine.
Harry grimaces when he sees the multiple cuts and scrapes tainting her skin. A few slow trickles of blood still oozing from the gashes. The skin is already slowly covering purple and blue with bruises.
The nurse cleans her up, Y/N wincing when the alcohol brushes the cuts but Sasha is smiling again like nothing ever happened and cooing at her mum. It makes them both feel a lot better.
--
When they’re finally on the private jet, up high into the clouds away from the crowds and paparazzi - it feels like relief. ***
They had tucked their daughter onto the couch with her favorite fuzzy blanket and she’s asleep nearly as soon as her head hits the pillow.
They trail back into the other part of the cabin so that they don’t disturb her, cuddling up on the couch together.
“M’so sorry, I’m such a bad fa-”
Y/N cuts him off before he begins, “If I’m not allowed to be a bad mum - you’re not allowed to be a bad father. It wasn’t y’fault that happened - it’s those careless, crazed people who have nothing better to do.”
Y/N was always the voice of reason in Harry’s head when he started to spiral.
Spiral because his fame was so overwhelming and got his family into difficult situations sometimes. She brought him back to reality.
“Hey, we’re both okay. Just a few scrapes. It was just a lesson, Harry. We just need to be safer and plan better, alright?” Y/N assures him softly, kissing under his chin before resting back - ready to sleep.
“Y’the best. Best mum, best wife,” Harry tells her, encompassing her in his loving hold.

Little Harry meets Baby Mia
@joyseuphoria and @funbunnypotter26 asked me to write about Harry meeting Mia because I shared this amazing video and told it reminded me of Harry.
so here it is
I feel like it was the cutest thing I've ever written in my life
----------------
Harry went to Mia's crib every day. And every day he saw nothing but blankets, folded clothes, and pillows. No baby his parents promised, just a mess.
Was that what a baby was? A mess?
Harry had heard his mum say that today was the last day with the belly, but he didn't understand why, how was she going to get the belly out of her? And where would Mia live if Mum took her house, which was her belly?
Mia was roomy, Harry knew that, several times his mum said that and he noticed how her belly got bigger every day. It was like it was going to burst like a soap bubble (his father had promised him it wouldn't and that Lily was safe, but Harry didn't believe it, so he was always mindful of his mum's belly, taking care never to poke her skin. He loved her, didn't want her to explode).
Harry has waited every day since his parents told them. Every day he waited, watched the calendar his dad gave him, waiting for the month of April to come, which was when his mum promised him that Mia would arrive - Harry didn't understand how she was going to arrive either, if she was already there in his mother's belly, but Lily told him that there would come a time when she would take the baby out of her.
When April came, Harry ran to his sister's crib, hoping she was already there, but again, there was nothing.
But today was different.
Sirius arrived at dawn and took Harry out of his bed and took him to his parents' bed, his father gave him a kiss and said he would be back soon, and his mother seemed to be in a lot of pain so Harry was worried about her but she was crying and smiling, saying it was okay when he said he wanted to go along with them to protect her. Sirius would stay with him while his parents were wherever they went, and soon Harry fell asleep again, too tired to fight.
When he woke up, his parents still hadn't come back. Sirius made him pancakes, but he wasn't happy like he used to be. Sirius was worried, pacing back and forth, and every now and then he would send a patron to wherever dad was asking if everything was okay.
His parents were away for another two days. Harry was worried and missing them, crying to sleep and wanting his dad to read him a bedtime story, not Sirius. Not that Sirius wasn't good, but he wanted his dad. He wanted his mum. He missed them.
On Thursday night, his parents arrived.
Mum looked tired, very tired, and she seemed to have been crying too, Harry was worried about her because her belly wasn't as big as it used to be.
"Have you lost Mia?" He asked, confused, placing his hand on his mother's stomach that wasn't as round anymore.
Lily smiled, grumbling to pick him up, then full him with kisses and hugs, whispering against his forehead. "Mommy is fine," One more kiss. Harry had missed her so much that he didn't even care. "Have you been to see your sister's crib yet?"
"Not yet! Sirius said I couldn't go in!" Harry complained, because he had tried to get into the room earlier, but Sirius said the room needed to be…clean, it needed to be clean for some reason.
"Let's go then?" Lily set him down, giving Harry a hand, who quickly accepted. He wanted to run but realized that his mum was in pain so he walked slowly.
"Are you hurt Mommy?" he asked again.
"Mommy is fine, just a little pain, but nothing to worry," She smiled, and opened Mia's bedroom door for him. Harry saw that his father was there, by the side of the crib, also looking tired but not in pain.
Why had only Mom felt pain???
"Come see, we have a surprise for you," James called after him, and Harry walked over, climbing over the crib and managing to climb up until he could look inside, and where once it had been blankets and clothes, there was now a baby, small and all wrapped up on a blanket that he chose some weeks before.
The baby was so small that Harry thought it was a fake.
But as if to prove it was for real, Mia made a noise, softly and that Harry didn't quite recognize, but she seemed to say hi and that cheered him up. He finally had a sister!
"There's a baby in here!" he yelled, climbing over the crib to go inside. Harry had waited so long to meet her, it wasn't the same thing as talking to Mom's belly, now he could see that Mia was really real! She existed! And now Harry was her brother.
He didn't quite know what that changed in his life other than the fact that he wasn't the only child in the house anymore, but that seemed to be important because Dad always told him that by now, he was going to be a big brother.
Anyway, there was Mia!
“Hey, hey, calm down.” Mum took his arm, and Dad helped him into the crib, always reminding him to be careful.
Of course he would be careful, she was so small she looked almost like those dolls Mum kept in the attic.
"Hi," Harry greeted her, but Mia didn't seem to understand what that was. Dad had told him babies took time to learn to speak, so maybe that was why.
But she yawned, opening her mouth wide, and Harry took it as she greeted him, and it was enough to make him smile and laugh with glee, touching her head carefully. Her eyes didn't open like his, maybe she was too sleepy? Her nose was very small, as was her mouth, but Harry noticed that her hair was different from his.
Harry had messy black hair, mum always said, and Mia had a few hairs on her head, and a much lighter color, looking a lot like the golden color he used to paint the golden snitch, in a drawing that mum put it in a picture frame and hung it in Mia's room. He had made it for her, it was him, mum - with Mia in her belly - and dad. The Snitch was flying under them.
"Do you want to hold her?" Mum asked, standing in front of the crib, for some reason her eyes were watery. Was it the pain she was feeling that made her cry?
Harry nodded.
"So, have a seat," Dad helped him get ready, he taught him how to hold his arms straight while mum took the package that was Mia, and placed her in his arms. She looked even smaller there, but it was heavy, not too much, but enough for Harry to brace his arms on his outstretched legs while Dad held her head.
Couldn't she keep her head up?
"Hi," Harry said again, only because she made a noise that sounded like a whimper, and maybe it was hello in babies' language.
Harry hadn't been a baby for a long time now, Dad said he was a little man now, so Harry didn't speak Mia's language.
“I'm your brother,” He smiled. "I was waiting for you," Mia started to cry. For some reason, maybe she was in pain too. This despaired Harry. “No, don't cry, I'm cool, I promise.” Did she understand what was cool? Harry bent down and kissed her forehead like his parents did to him whenever he cried. Mia was still mumbling, but she wasn't crying. Maybe she understood what he was talking about, because he was once a baby too!
‘’We are gonna play a lot, ok? I have a lot of toys so it will be a lot of fun!’’

A/N: I did it guys! I actually managed to break myself with this mini fic by digging into my own abandonment issues. It was fun- cathartic almost. Please enjoy! Also, spoilers for the lesson 16 incident.
What does it feel like to be replaced? If you were to ask Arella, she’d say it felt bitter and painful. Like someone was holding a white-hot branding iron to her stomach and pushing it in to the point it ate through all the layers of her skin and was now searing through her stomach or like someone was rubbing salt into a open, festering wound.
When Diavolo had announced to the other student council officers that a new exchange student would be joining their ranks, Arella was excited- especially when she found out the new student was a female- there was only so much Arella could talk about in a house full of men and one genderless individual that they would understand, all of them having been assigned male at birth and whatnot. So, another woman among their ranks would be a breath of fresh air for her. And it was for a time being- until the brothers had taken favor to this new human.
It started within months of this new exchange student arriving. One by one, her favorite demons started hanging around her more often. It wasn't like Arella could be mad at them. This human was novel and oh so different from Arella. She was everything Arella was not, from her blonde hair to her well-developed body- even her height, which matched closer to the brothers. She was everything human world media told a girl she should be. She even looked like she fit in with them- having taken to the Devildom like a duck to water even without being able to use magic.
Arella wants to be angry with this girl, but she can’t. This girl, named Melissa, was so sweet it was almost enough to make Arella sick. She was smart, innocent, and -above all else- selfless. It was apparent the boys adored her immediately. One by one, Arella was losing them to the charms of this new girl. The first to go was Satan, clearly smitten by her love of books and knowledge of obscure but very talented authors. The second to go was Asmo, often taking her out to clubs or on long shopping trips that often lasted well past curfew. And just like that the other brothers started to follow suit. Game nights between her and Levi? Gone. Drawing up budgets with Lucifer? Not anymore. Going out with Beel to cafes? Not in her wildest dreams. Naptimes up in the attic with Belphie? Hah! Fat chance. The last and most painful to pull away was Mammon- her first man. The one who swore he would always be there for her when she needed him. And oh how she needed him.
Just like when Arella had first come to the Devildom, Mammon was given the task of watching over Melissa by Lucifer. At first Arella tried to justify it as Lucifer worrying about the girl’s safety as even though his brothers had gotten better at controlling themselves, they still had their moments.
As time went on however, she started to notice the little things. Missed movie nights between them, date nights often forgotten about in favor of showing Melissa his favorite spots around the city, the loss of any physical intimacy. Soon, he stopped seeing her all together. Things that she and Mammon did together were now reserved for Melissa: casino trips, movie nights, pranks on Lucifer that would have the eldest chasing after them, running around the city until it was nearly what could considered to be the Devildom’s equivalent of dawn. She knew he was completely gone when she walked down to the dining room for supper one evening and overheard them just casually flirting. Mammon didn’t even make any attempts to dissuade Melissa’s advances. He remembered he actually had a girlfriend, right? Right?!
Or were they even a thing anymore? It had been months since they’d spent any substantial time together outside of classes and even then, he’d moved seats to sit closer to the new human. He’d either ignore her texts or straight up just ghost her altogether. As she listened to them, she had to push down the possessive tendencies that tried to force their way out of her. She pushed them back down into the flimsily locked box they had always been contained in and burying them down in the deepest parts of her mind, forcing herself to accept that she was no longer wanted- no longer loved by the family she thought she’d found. She returned to her room for the rest of the night and for the first time since the initial weeks after arriving here on her first visit, cried herself to sleep.
The next time she interacted with any of the Avatars, it was Lucifer ordering her off to school telling her that she had better not be late and tarnish the good name Lord Diavolo and the exchange programme. Arella only nodded and promptly left the house, not even bothering to finish her morning cup of tea. The walk to school was lonely, Mammon had left earlier with Melissa and it was then, with a broken heart, Arella decided she would leave them all to their new toy. They wouldn’t bother her. They didn’t need her. At least she had Solomon and the angels, didn’t she? No, it didn’t seem to be the case either judging by the mass of unanswered texts.
As she entered class, Arella took her usual seat only hoping Mammon would choose to sit with her for once, would just choose her for once in general. But it wasn’t meant to be. Of course, it wouldn’t. Why would he bother to choose her when there was someone who was much better for him than her? Someone who wasn’t selfish or possessive or... or... worthless... She subtilty looked over her shoulder to watch as they cracked jokes and laughed together and she felt tears pool in her eyes- heart aching at the thought that she would never have that again and the sweet memories she’d made with the demon. The spot she once saved for him was now taken by another demon.
-------------------------------------------------
Two months more of this- it had been eleven since Melissa joined them. None of the brothers even looked Arella’s way anymore- often forgetting she lived in the house with them in the first place. When she tried to reach out to any of them it was Melissa needs this or Melissa and I are doing this, so she just stopped. She stopped eating, stopped taking care of herself save for basic hygiene needs. No one came to check on her. There were no texts, no calls, nothing. They’d gotten all they wanted out of her and now she was like a cast aside doll. She thought about reaching out to any of them but decided against it. They were demons and she was just an insignificant human. It's not like they actually cared and Arella was a fool for allowing herself to entertain the thought.
She should just go home. But where was home? The human world held nothing for her to return to. Sure, she had that degree in biochemical engineering to fall back on but after having a taste of true happiness, would she even enjoy a life doing that? Maybe she could just go back to her original plan. The plan she had made when she first signed on to the exchange programme. 23 years was certainly long enough to experience everything life had to offer, right? She always did tell herself if the year on the exchange programme didn’t work out, she’d end it all. The idea was sounding more and more appealing by the minute.
With her mind made up, Arella swung her legs over the side of the bed. A smile was painted on her face. Her cheeks stained with tears; emerald-green eyes bleary from all the crying she’d done over the past two months. No one would miss her. They left her- abandoned for the better human like she was an unwanted pet. What did she expect though? No one ever stayed. No one ever cared. No one ever loved her enough to begin with. She was always thrown away like the trash she was after her purpose was fulfilled.
With what little strength she could muster, Arella stood as she uttered a spell and a portal opened. She gladly stepped through it, finding herself in her childhood home as it closed- a place filled with nothing but suffering and pain for her. What a fitting place for her own painful end.
“Hello, Mum, Myles...I’m... home... Isn’t it lovely... that you were right after all? I’ll be with you... soon...”
-------------------------------------------------
Missing his call on her D.D.D. was the first thing that Mammon noticed. He knew he hadn’t been the best boyfriend ever since the new human arrived and the demon felt guilty for that. He’d put so much energy into helping Melissa get a date with his younger brother that he hadn’t realized how much time had actually passed- how it had been almost a year since he’d done literally anything with his girlfriend. She was probably pissed at him and rightfully so. Now that he had actually looked at his calendar, there had been so many planned dates and movie nights he had missed with her and all he wanted to do was make it up to her somehow. She probably thought he didn’t want her anymore which couldn’t have been further from the truth. He missed her- missed hanging out with her, missed the dumb jokes they would crack and the laughter that followed, missed the pranks they would play on Lucifer that often ended up with them strung up from the ceiling together. He missed the late-night cuddles and having her tucked up under his arm at night as he held her close. The bed they had once shared was considerably colder now that she was no longer there.
Mammon made his way down to her room. That was the only place she could be. Arella never left her room anymore. She always left for school earlier than anyone else too, choosing to skip breakfast outright, so Mammon couldn’t even catch her to talk then. He thought about reclaiming his seat next to his human but every morning he found her chatting up another demon that had taken his old seat. He often felt his possessiveness spike most during those times but did he even have the right to feel that way after neglecting her for the past eleven months?
As he drew closer to her room, he could see Beel knocking at her door, asking if she’d like to go visit that new café she had mentioned a couple weeks ago. When there was no answer, the Avatar of Gluttony would frown, unsure if she was just asleep or just actively ignoring him. That was the second sign something was wrong. No matter what happened, at the end of the day, Arella was always happy to entertain their whims.
“She’s not answerin’ ya, is she?” The second-born asks as the sixth-born shakes his head, looking like an abandoned puppy on the side of the road. “I’ll go in ‘n see if she’s awake. I have to talk to ‘er anyway.”
Beelzebub nodded as he left back to the kitchen- likely to eat his hurt feelings away. None of them really had the right to feel this way after they’d just ghosted their favorite human though. As he opened the door, Mammon stopped dead in his tracks. She wasn’t there, her phone lay on the bed lit up with missed texts from Asmo and Levi.
Immediately, he took off for Lucifer’s study. If anyone would know her whereabouts it would be Lucifer, right? The family patriarch had the uncanny ability to know exactly where every resident of the House of Lamentation was at any given time so long as they were still in the Devildom.
-------------------------------------------------
After considering her options, Arella was left indecisive. There were a number of ways she could end her own life. She wouldn’t lie, before the exchange programme she would fantasize about the many ways she could kill herself. Would it be by hanging like she found Myles? Or perhaps she could slit her wrists like her beloved mother. If the car in the garage still worked, carbon monoxide poisoning was a valid option too. There were sleeping pills up in the medicine cabinet- a large handful of those would definitely do the trick... Ah choices, choices. As she smiled to herself, the human wondered if any of the brothers had noticed she wasn’t in the house anymore. The chances were unlikely as they were all too busy with their new human but if they had, who was it?
Would it be Asmo, Levi, Belphegor? Surely, it wouldn’t have been Mammon. He’d long since moved on, probably enjoying the start of a new relationship with Melissa. It hurt that he couldn’t have been bothered to even break up with Arella in the first place. What happened to forever? Had it all been the honeyed words of a liar?
She shook her head. It was best not to think too much on it but she still couldn’t help it. Once she was gone- once their pact faded away- would he regret this? Would he regret losing the person who loved him so unconditionally that it was almost embarrassing?
With her mind made up, Arella grabbed a knife from one of the drawers in the kitchen and carried herself up to the master bedroom where she had found her mother four years prior. As she lie on the bed, she pressed the knife to her wrist deep enough to cause substantial bleeding. She drags the blade up her arm, watching as the crimson liquid gushed from the from the wound. She thinks it’s beautiful- a fitting end for a vile creature such as herself.
-------------------------------------------------
“Lucifer!”
“What, Mammon?” The eldest didn’t even bother to look up from the ever-growing stack of paperwork on his desk.
“Did Arella have plans tonight?” The Avatar of Greed asks as his brother finally looks up at him.
“Not that I’m aware of, but I also haven’t seen her all day. As her mate, you should know, shouldn’t you? As far as I’m aware, Arella hasn’t left the house and is still in her room probably practicing her mag-”
In that moment, both demons felt a sharp pain shoot up their arm as if someone had taken a knife and was drawing a line up the inside of their arm. The same pain was radiating from the places where their pact marks were located. Mammon clutched at his chest as he fell to his knees, the symbol representing his girlfriend radiating with pain that reached down to his heart. If the screams of the others were anything to go by, they felt the same thing.
“She’s not in her room!” The white-hair demon manages to gasp out. What scares him most is that he can feel their pact fading away.
Lucifer’s heart leapt up in his throat as the realization hit him. It wasn’t her practicing magic that he had sensed earlier, it was her casting a spell. She opened a portal to the human world and had gone through. He now realizes the mistake they’ve made as he remembers back to the confession she had made to him over a year ago one night when neither of them could sleep and opted for a late-night cup of tea. She had told him that he and his brothers had saved her life that first year during the exchange programme. That if things hadn’t worked out so well, she had planned to take her own life. Back then, he thought nothing much of it since the problem had resolved itself. But with how they had essentially pushed her aside in favor of Melissa, she would have felt unwanted bringing the suicidal thoughts back full force. They had to get to her and fast before it was too late.
Always fast on his feet the eldest, opens a portal of his own, knowing of only one place she would go to take her own life. Both brothers would hop through, landing in the dusty house with a thud. The smell hit them faster than either of them could process it. Blood. And a lot of it at that.
Mammon was the first to scramble for the stairs while Lucifer made a break for the phone, having forgotten his D.D.D. on his desk in the rush to get through the portal. The second-born knows the layout of Arella's house too well, having been here with her multiple times before this. Back in better times when she knew just how much he loved her. As the smell of fresh blood grows stronger, he finds her resting on the bed, a smile on her face as the knife lay between her body and the arm that was still slowly losing blood.
Faster than a flash of lightning, the demon tore his belt off and was on the bed immediately. He took her arm, fastening his belt around the upper part in a tourniquet to stop the blood flow. He shook her frantically, tears spilling down his face freely.
“Arella! Arella! C'mon, baby, wake up! Please!” His voice came out in a scream and he could only vaguely hear his brother speaking on the phone with emergency services. “We’re sorry! Don’t leave us! Don’t leave me!”
With every passing second, Mammon could feel her life slipping away through the pact that was still searing his heart. This was the price of his actions- of all their actions. Her blood was on his hands, literally. He should have done more. He should have been there. He could have called or texted or even just picked up the damn phone when she had called him, but instead just like the blood that had slipped from her arm, the Avatar of Greed let her slip through his fingers. She was gone and there was no bringing his human back this time like they had when Belphie threw her body down the stairs after he’d strangle her to death. He and his brothers had spent all that time protecting her from other demons but they couldn’t protect her from themselves.
Once the EMT’s got there, the demon stepped back from the blood-soaked bed in a state of shock- a state of disbelief. There was nothing they could do for her now. She had no pulse, no signs of life. He dropped to his knees unable to believe that his human was truly gone. His throat felt tight as more tears came. He was only just able to register the feeling of the Avatar of Pride’s embrace as they cried together- something they hadn’t done since the fall, since Lilith passed.
The two demons were informed that the coroner would arrive to collect her body shortly as they left the room. Slowly they got up, Mammon taking her body in his arms as he fought back the urge to sob. The pair returned to the House of Lamentation with Arella’s body in tow, cradled carefully in her mate’s arms. As they stepped through, they were met by their brothers and Melissa. Even the Angels, Solomon, and the Royals were there waiting.
“She’s gone,” The eldest’s voice cracked as a pained grimace formed on his face, more tears slipping down his face. Mammon couldn’t even lift his head to look them in the eyes as the crying, wailing, sobbing started.
“We didn’t deserve ‘er.” The second-born chokes on his tears, feeling utterly broken inside. “We did this to ‘er. All... All seven of us did this... She reached out to alla us ‘n we ignored ‘er.” He’s the angriest with himself.
The prince and his butler only watch on, tears in their eyes. Diavolo remembers all the good times they’ve had with Arella. The way she made the lives of the Avatars better, the fun she brought to the student council meetings, the beautiful light she’d brought to the Devildom. She’d made such an impact on the lives of all of these demons and angels. As selfish as it was, Diavolo didn’t want to let any of that go.
“Bring her back, Barbatos.” He orders and his loyal servant steps forward.
“Place her on the ground, Mammon.” Barbatos says calmly, almost as if he’s done this a thousand times and for some reason the Avatar of Greed obeys the order.
Once she’s on the ground, the green-haired demon pulls open her mouth and takes Mammon’s hand in his, producing a dagger and slicing the white-haired demon’s palm tipping it to side and allows the blood to drop into Arella’s mouth. As the crimson liquid flows down her throat, the effect is immediate- Arella's body convulsing violently before she gasps for breath as the gash along the inside of her arm heals.
Everyone- demons, angels, and humans alike- stare wide-eyed at the scene. Lucifer looks up to his longtime friend in disbelief. He had just...
“Let this teach you all a very painful lesson. I’ve given her life as a demon, do not take this chance for granted. You will not get it again. She needs rest for now, but in a day or two, Arella will reawaken.” The prince’s voice is stern as he peers down at the former human who would now become a very powerful demon. “Treat her right this time.”
It’s with that that Diavolo and Barbatos take their leave. The rest was up to the brothers now to care for her and right the wrongs they’ve made.

Once Again (PT.4) | Iwaizumi Hajime (Haikyu!)
Tumblr media
ONCE AGAIN | PART FOUR
Summary
Iwaizumi’s broken marriage results in his five-year-old son trying to match him up with his primary school teacher, whom he thinks will make a wonderful replacement for a mother.
Genre: fluff, angst, f! Reader x dad! Iwaizumi
PREVIOUS PART | NEXT PART
----
"Miss Y/N, is daddy okay?" Hoisuke peers up at you from the backseat as you pull up to your apartment unit. You glance at him through the rearview mirror and smile, "don't worry, he's fine. He's just going to be slightly late."
Iwaizumi had called you earlier that day, sounding breathless and stressed out as he iterated how slow traffic was moving. On impulse, you'd proposed to bring Hoisuke over to your house to make things more comfortable and after a slight bout of hesitation, he'd agreed to pick his son up in the comfort of your home.
"This is the first time I come to your place, miss Y/N," Hoisuke's eyes are darting back and forth across the tiny kitchenette to your right to the small tv screen plugged to the wall on the left. Granted, your flat is merely anything special and far from ready for unexpected guests. But the sharp curiosity gleaming in your student's eyes holds no judgement and for that you apprrciate him all the more.
"You hungry?" You ask while settling him down at your tiny dinner table compact enough to fit snuggly up to your kitchen counter.
Hoisuke purses his lips in thought and you swear he's learnt this facial expression from observing his father, "hm yeah. A little bit," before throwing you a sheepish grin.
So you whip up something simple; omelette rice with your special Korean chilli sauce as a sudden downpour splatters through the cityscape, the rain dancing to its own rhythm as it splatters over your windowpane. The TV plays in the background, a random cartoon that gets interrupted with Hoisuke's giggles and that ignites an affectionate smile on your lips as you chide himto eat. And you're not really sure why your chest feels tight and filled to the brim with comfort, but you realise you don't actually mind having the small human around that much.
Teachers aren't supposed to have favourites. But you admit to yourself that teachers are only human. And if you are to choose, Hoisuke would be one of yours.
"Miss Y/N, do you have a boyfriend?" Hoisuke's voice pierces through your thoughts and as you blink down at him, you shake your head, "no, I'm single as a pringle."
"You are not married then."
"No I'm not."
"Great!" Hoisuke jumps up on his seat, eyes twinkling with mischief, "then do you want to marry daddy?"
"What?" You laugh out, "it doesn't work that way Hoisuke."
"But I like you miss Y/N," he replies with the seriousness of a child wanting his way, "You'd be a great mum. Can you be my mum?"
"Oh gosh kiddo," your hand reachea out to ruffle his hair, heart twisting at how easily he leans into your touch, "I'd love to be your mum, but--"
"Then marry my dad," Hoisuke's mumble is muffled against your side. He unconsciously snuggles up to you and you caress the top of his head down to his nape, "daddy likes you too. He really likes you. You make him happy. He laughs a lot when you're around, and he doesn't get sad like he usually does when Mama is here."
"But that would be unfair to your mum wouldn't it?" You say softly, "you can't have two mums. She'll be upset."
There's a slight pause where you can see the cogs turning in his brain, "yeah," he says eventually, "but I don't really like going to Mama's anyway--"
The sound of your doorbell jolts you both to attention. You give Hoisuke's head one more ruffle before getting up to unlock the door.
Only to come face to face with none other than Hoisuke's mother.
You blink. Once. Twice. Unconsciously taking a step back.
She's pretty. Prettier up close, with those feline cat eyes and that full mouth that renders any man crazy. Standing a few inches higher than you, there is no doubt as to why Iwaizumi had fallen for her charms in the first place. She looks like the kind of woman that would still be elegant even dressed in a mechanician's uniform.
"H-Hello," your eyes dart from hers to a blank spot on the wall opposite, "can I help?"
"Where's Hoisuke?" Her voice is smooth, yet hard enough to make you wince.
"I--" your mind races. Isn't Iwaizumi supposed to pick him up? And how the hell does she know where you live?
She seems to read your face as she says, "I saw you with my son leaving the school. You're his...teacher, aren't you? I was waiting to pick him up."
"I thought Iwaizumi-san--"
"I don't need a reason to see my son," she arches her brows at you in a way that makes you want to crawl under a carpet and hide.
"Mama?" Hoisuke's voice floats from behind you, a tentative waver of nervousness as you hear him pad up to the door.
"Does Iwaizumi-san know you're picking him up?" You hope your tone is diplomatic, but the way her body tenses proves you otherwise, "You can tell him Hoisuke's with his mother," she nods at her child, "now come on Hoisuke. Let's go home."
Maybe feeling the tension in the air, Hoisuke merely shrinks back, "but it's Daddy that picks me up."
"Yes well, Daddy's not here now is he?" She gestures aggressively towards him, "now come on."
"Maybe we should wait until Iwaizumi-san gets here," you try to smooth things over, "he's on his way--"
"Don't tell me what to do with my child," Mizune snaps and without warning, grabbing hold of Hoisuke's arm before pulling him out of the flat. He resists.
"Mama no, let's wait for Daddy--"
"Daddy isn't coming. Now stop being so difficult," she doesn't relent against the way her son twists and kicks at the ground while you stand there, mind blind with panic because you've never actually had to deal with such a situation before.
"Mama please!" Hoisuke cries out with a sob.
You want to move. You urge yourself to. But your feet won't budge. It's like you're rooted in place.
Hoisuke has started crying at this point and in an attempt to smoothen things out, you try again by saying, "I'm sure we can all calm down and talk this out. As a teacher, I cannot--"
"That's right," Mizune's feline pupils narrow down on you, making you flinch at the rage simmering through those dark orbs, "you're his teacher. And as a teacher, you should know how to keep your boundaries. You're not his mother and you never will be. So fucking stay out of my family's life."
The words burn as they etch themselves into memory and you can only watch, hand clutched to the door as Mizune drags her crying son away. His cries are loud enough that they bounce throughout the corridor and keeps resonating even when he's long gone, as you try to comb through the last fifteen minutes where everything has turned upside down.
Fucking stay out of my family's life.
Your brain reels. Your heart feels heavy. You don't know what to do, what to say.
And Mizune's words are as sharp as a knife.
Don't tell me what to do with my child.
A sob slowly catches the back of your throat, eyes slowly brimming with an onset of tears.
You're not his mother.
The truth hurts. You know that Hoisuke is not your child, know that all this time it's merely Iwaizumi and his son, and then you watching on the sidelines. But hearing the cold rejection thrust in your face hurts more than you'll admit.
You aren't quite sure how long you stand there gazing into the empty corridor as if if you will it hard enough, Hoisuke will come running back to you. It is only when a familiar alto reaches your ears that you snap back to attention:
"Y/N?"
Jerking at the sound and looking up to see none other than Iwaizumi, drenched and breathless, standing a few feet away from you, your breath hitches in warning.
He closes the distance between you, frowning upon noticing the tears at the corner or your eyes, "what's wrong? Where is Hoisuke--"
"I'm..." your eyes drop to the ground, "I'm sorry," your whimper is barely above a whisper and you feel him move closee, his hand gently grasping your arm.
"Y/N?" His voice is gentle, though ragged and breathy, "what happened?"
It's probably the gentlest he's ever been with you. Turning away to cup your mouth with your hand, your teeth clamp down onto your lower lip in hopes of keeping the emotion from spilling over.
"Mizune came," you murmur out, "she took Hoisuke home."
There's a sharp intake of breath on his part. A pause, "how did--"
"She followed us."
Iwaizumi lets out a sigh as he moves towards you and you stagger back to hide your tears, but it proves useless when his hand grasps your arm to pull your hand away.
Deep brown mocha meet yours. Your throat tightens.
"Sorry," you breathe out a forced chuckle but it's clear from Iwaizumi's face that he's spotted your tears, and that he just knows that there is something bothering you.
But he doesn't ask. Doesn't question your intent or your feelings.
Instead, he pulls you close, close enough you're stumbling into him, before his hand wounds around the back of your head and presses you against his shoulder.
It shocks you, the sudden intimacy of his touch. His citrus smell once again invades your space and you can't find it in yourself to keep on holding on before you break down.
Maybe it's because you had felt-- at this point in time -- that you were someone significant in Hoisuke and Iwaizumi's life that you're not crying into Iwaizumi's shoulder as if everything is going downhill in your life. But you're comforted by the casual way he holds you with his head turned away so that you can bury yourself in the crook of his collarbone.
"Sorry," you manage to mumble out after you've managed to calm down. He's moved you back into your flat and has sat you down onto your kitchen chair, having rummaged through your utensils to bring you a cup of water that you sip on gratefully, if only to act as a distraction from the way he's gazing at you.
Iwaizumi shakes his head silently, looks away and clears his throat, "I'm gonna call her. You good?"
You nod and after searching your face for a few more seconds, he slides out of his seat and walks away with the device already presses to his ear. Bowing your head and gulping down the rest of the water, you manage to block out his angry alto resonating through the compact space as you focus on regaining control of yourself. You rarely fall to pieces like that, rarely give in to the downward pull of your emotions because the nature of your job obliges you to.
"Y/N."
You jump involuntarily and look up to see the said man sporting a frown, "is Hoisuke okay?" You ask.
"He's fine," a sigh escapes his lips as he slides back into the chair as if there's a weight pressing down onto his shoulders, "I'll pick him up tomorrow after school."
You nod. Good, the last thing you need is for Hoisuke to be disrupted by problems that don't concern him.
When he speaks next though, his alto is hoarse and thick, "I'm sorry Y/N. You don't deserve to get in the middle of all this."
"It's okay."
His eyes pierce yours with burning hot intensity, causing your gaze to drop to your fists laying across the table, knuckles so tight they're turning white.
A bout of silence ensues, lest for the pounding in your heart while your thoughts take on a tumultous turn for the worse. What if Mizune is angry? What if she stops Hoisuke from coming to school altogether? What if she makes her child move just for the sake of keeping him away from his teacher who can't seem to keep her nose out of anyone's business? What if--
Warmth floods your hands so suddenly that it interrupts your train of thought. Head jerking up in surprise to see Iwaizumi's hands clasp yours, your blood suddenly pulses through your limbs upon feeling his thumb gently stroke over your knuckles.
Iwaizumi is not a man of words. That much you know, but this evening has been full of surprises for you both. So you force yourself to relax, almost enjoying the gentlest of his touches fluttering across your skin.
"How," your words are choked, "how angry is she?"
"That doesn't matter."
"But what if--"
"None of this is your fault, Y/N," he replies firmly, followed by a gentle squeeze, "whatever you have cooking in that head of yours, stop."
Nodding and sighing in defeat, you lapse into a more comfortable silence as the time dwindles on. It's different to have someone else occupying your flat, considering that you've gotten so used to living along after your horrible breakup. A good kind of different.
When you bid him goodbye that evening -- granted you shall wake up with dark circles and puffy eyes the next day -- he suprises you with another casual, one-armed hug which signifies so much more for the usually reserved man, Hoisuke's bag hanging loosely from the other. He holds you close, his grip strong and secure and making you wish you can melt in a puddle of warmth at his feet, while his cheek pillows atop your temple against the side of your head. You lean in, cozy and warm, while his heart beats underneath your ear like a gentle drum easing you of today's worries and you wish you have the willpower to keep yourself away, in vain.
He pulls away slightly, mutters a soft "night" before a ghost of a kiss imprints itself on your temple.
Your breath hitches but the moment is gone all too son. He's already swivelling around and making his way down the corridor, leaving you to stare after him with a wild, raging heart.
You know, without a doubt, that you're already a little too skin-deep.
----
Iwaizumi is furious. Filled to the brim with a rage that's threatening to bubble over his insides.
He'd gone round to fetch Hoisuke in the morning as promised, just managing to keep himself from knocking his ex-wife's double mahogany doors down only to be greeted by that stupid bastard who'd stolen his wife away.
Todoka had always roamed within the same circle of friends as Iwaizumi and Mixune, having met under the same dormitory roof and sharing common sports interests. So imagine how big of a slap it was to hear that he'd been the one stealing kisses and sharing soft subtle touches with his wife behind his back.
"I could've driven him if only you'd let me," Mizune had told him as they waited for Hoisuke to finish brushing his teeth. is ex-wife's familiar soprano made him tense. Her face was a cold mask of indifference that covered up her silent anger. She'd folded her arms, chin jutted out and lips pursed, "he's my son too, you know."
"Was he still your son when you went and fucked Todoka?"
She'd sighed. As if dealing with the tantrum of a child, "Why are you bringing this up again?"
"Because you never put him first. Not when he threw his tantrums, not when he cried for you. Not even when he was sick," Iwaizumi spat out, the words tasting bitter upon his tongue.
"I had issues Hajime, you know that--"
"Like what? Like we weren't good enough for you? Like I wasn't pulling myself apart while you were out for nights on end?" Iwaizumi would've continued with an onslaught of pent-up statements if his son hadn't spoken out:
"Daddy?"
"Hey bud," Iwaizumi's anger had deflated like a hot air balloon, "you ready to go?"
And so he packed his son up in the car, his ex-wife watching his every move, and just after he'd closed his vehicle door did Mizune mention something about you.
"Do you like her?"
He'd bristled, "none of your business."
"Hoisuke is my son," Mizune's eyes had hardened into steel, "I don't need anyone else filling up his head with stupid ideas, nor do I want him to get hurt--"
"Like you did?" The words were fire burning upon his tongue. His shoulders were squared as he faced her fully, "stop beating around the bush, Mizune. We both know you hate the fact that Hoisuke loves spending time with Y/N."
"That's not it, I--"
"Y/N has spent more time with Hoisuke in a week than you did in a month. She's wiped his tears more timesthat you've seen him cry," he swivels towards his car then, "are we done?"
"You're acting like a child."
"I'm not the one picking a fight because of some petty jealousy," Iwaizumi had snapped.
"I'm not jealous!" Mizune burst out, her patience finally wearing thin, "I'm trying to look out for him, for you! She's not right for you--"
"Don't. Talk about her like that,” Anger had flared at how dismissively she spoke of you, visible as his knuckles tightened and a vein throbbed in his forehead, "and if you know what's good for you, you'll stay the fuck out of my life."
He'd driven off without looking back, knowing full well he'd shocked her into silence and if he were to be honest with himself, that outburst had eased some of the knots in his stomach. Dealing with Hoisuke's anxiety after witnessing yet another argument though, that was something else.
"Daddy, I don't understand why you and Mama fight so much," Hoisuke finally finds his voice when they stop inside the school gtounds. His small chubby hand, fitting into Iwaizumi's large one, cling to him with more force than necessary as they make their way to his respective class.
"Your mama and I...have different opinions on things," Iwaizumi tries to explain, suddenly guilty that his son has to pick up all the broken pieces. Impulsively, he ruffles Hoisuke's locks, "don't worry."
And that's when his son stops in mid-walk, looks him dead in the eye, and tells him, "Mama doesn't like miss Y/N, does she?"
It's a different kind of slap, but he shouldn't have understimated the little five year old. Children know much more than they let on snd here's the proof of it.
Iwaizumi allows both his hands to clasp Hoisuke's shoulders and bends down until they are face to face, "hey," dark mocha meets lighter caramel tinged with a fear of a child desperate for a family that all his friends can take for granted, "that doesn't matter. Do you like miss Y/N?"
Hoisuke nods, eyes wet.
Iwaizumi's heart swells and he swears he doesn't ever want to see that expression on his son's face, not if he can help it.
"Then it doesn’t matter what your Mom tells you," he squeezes the child's shoulder for good measure, "no one can boss you around and tell you that you're not allowed to like who you like," he brushes a few hairs off Hoisuke's forehead, "not me, not even your mom. Got that?"
“Will we be able to invite miss Y/N again?” Hoisuke asks with a trembling bottom lip.
“If you want to.”
“Do you want to, daddy?”
That question takes him by surprise, the familiar guilt lurching through his stomach as he tries to comb through an excuse to hide his growing feelings.
Except, why does he have to hide in the first place?
It takes a moment, before Iwaizumi nods, “yeah,” he murmurs gently with the softest of smiles, “I want to.”
Hoisuke nods once more, which is shortly followed by lurching into Iwaizumi's arms as a sob echoes from his throat. His father holds him close, glad that the earlier tension from Hoisuke's has dissipated into relief for now.
What he doesn’t know though, is that you stand just a few feet away, body tucked into the corner of the wall and holding up your racing heart against your chest.
------
The more you spend more time with the Iwaizumis, the more your heart gets invested in the coaxing warmth that makes up their family. You try to dismiss what you've overheard back in the school corridor but it's an itch you can't quite erase now that you've been exposed to Iwaizumi's feelings, which does nothing to stop the way your heart skips a beat whenever his gaze lingers upon yours for too long.
And you've taken notice. Or you think you do. Of how he sounds more gentle whenever he talks to you, how whenever you play hands they drift towards each other for a few extra seconds that causes your skin to tingle with warmth. How it is so goddamn easy to fall into this familiar routine of playing families with Hoisuke around like a human sunshine.
But there's still one thing nagging you. Which is why you corner him once you have tucked Hoisuke into bed on Saturday night, seeking him out on the small terrace tucked beside his kitchen that overlooks the glowing city lights.
"Can I ask you something?"
His gaze flits to yours. He nods.
Swallowing back the sudden knot of anxiety in your throat, your question comes out more like a soft proposition rather than a demand fot answers.
"I know it's none of my business, but-- I overheard you and Hoisuke a few days ago in the school corridor," your words are rushed and quick as you fold your arms over your chest, "did you and Mizune have a fight...about me?"
Iwaizumi shifts in your peripheral to face you, but your eyes adamantly find purchase onto the cement ledge splattered with dirt. For a split second, you wonder whether it wouldn't have been better to keep your mouth shut.
"What did you hear?" He asks quietly.
With a slow breath, you tell him what you've heard, underlining that this whole encounter was an accident.
"And from the way she acted when she saw me...well, it's not hard to put two and two together," you finish off in a mumble, then quickly adding, "look I--I don't want to come in-between you and your family. I just don't want Hoisuke to get hurt."
Surprise flits through his features. He regards you for a long moment, long enough that you feel like squirming underneath his gaze.
Then, taking you by surprise, he chuckles softly and shifts his elbows onto the edge of the terrace, "No wonder he likes you."
You blink at him. It suddenly feels a little too warm.
"None of this is your fault, Y/N," you wonder since when have the formalities dropped from Miss Y/N to just Y/N and decide that you like the way your name rolls off his tongue, "Mizune gets jealous over stupid shit and if she can't see someone else making her son happy then that's not our problem."
Your teeth unconsciously find purchase onto your lower lip, which he notices. That doesn't stop him from reaching over to press his thumb against your lower lip, "don't."
You freeze at the touch. His thumb is warm against your mouth, calloused and sending a series of tingles down your spine.
He must realize the intimacy of his touch, for he drops his hand away and mutters, "he's...livelier. when you're around. Happier, even. I've never seen him like that with his Mama."
"What about you?"
You feel like slapping yourself. The audacity coming out of your mouth surprises you and you swear your cheeks burst into flames.
Iwaizumi looks at you almost at the same time your pupils focus on his, causing your breath to hitch.
Why the hell can't you just keep your mouth shut?
Iwaizumi's voice is merely a murmur when he speaks next, deep and laced with a roughness.
"What about me?"
Your brain seems to turn to mush, "do you like having me around?" You hope you don't sound too pathetic.
Your heart almost stops at his next set of words.
"I do."
And there's that smile, barely there but enough that your own lips stretch to mirror his action. Until you realize you are smiling at him like a fool and quickly look away like you've just been burnt.
Something shifts in the air between you, spurred on by the way your eyes keep searching each other's with a growing tension that makes your skin rattle. Iwaizumi's frown is present, yet not unpleasant and you're not quite sure who moves, just that he's suddenly a little closer. Close enough you get a whiff of the citrus smell you've come to recognize as his own.
"Miss Y/N?"
Hoisuke's voice suddenly snaps you out of your daze. Quickly whipping around to see the said boy rubbing his eyes, a hand unconscioudly scratching his tummy, your entire countenance softens as he blinks up at you sleepily.
"I can't sleep," he mumbles out with sleep still in his eyes, "can you come back to bed with me?"
"Yeah sure," you're already on your way over to him, scooping the child up in your arms. He takes this chance to bury his face into the crook of your neck, sighing contently.
You turn back to his father, a dark silhouette against the bright landscape, "I'll be right back."
But Hoisuke surprises you by saying, "you too, Daddy."
Iwaizumi stills, "what?"
"Come to bed too, Daddy."
For one single moment, it's like time stops. You can't see Iwaizumi's face but a moment later he straightens and walks over, nodding at you when he's close enough. You don't realize your heart is besting like a hummingbird until you hear it throbbing through your chest as you try squeezing into Hoisuke's bed, you in the corner and his father barely hanging onto the edge, Hoisuke squished in-between.
It's like an instinct for the boy to latch onto your shirt. He turns to burrow himself into the curve you've made with your body, facing Iwaizumi who is half-sitting, half-lying down in an angle that surely isn't comfortable.
So you decide to point it out to him, patting the bed for good measure in hopes that he doesn't notice the warm flush of your neck.
"It's okay," your whisper tickles Hoisuke's hair, "it's only until he falls asleep."
He hesitates, before you see his head nod and he slides his body a little closer, chest curving into Hoisuke's back and close enough for you to get bathed in his warmth.
He smells good. He looks good. God. Why does he look so damn good?
Stop! You squeeze your eyes shut aa if that might help your racing thoughts, and you are so caught up in your own head that you almost miss the gentle brush of Iwaizumi's fingers against your shoulder.
You tense up right before realizing that his action is intentional. Your shoulders slowly relax, a shaky exhale escaping your lips as he takes the chance to linger over your arm a little longer, before falling away onto the mattress.
You fall asleep that night listening to not just Hoisuke's, but Iwaizumi's heartbeat.

Possesive!Larry x reader
i said it would be out tomorrow but i’m god so it’s here now haha
let me know if you would like me to make one with gender neutral pronouns
word count: 2593
she/her pronouns
Warnings: smut, alcohol, possesive behaviour, sal x reader kiss,
You had been dating Larry for a while now, he’s your first boyfriend and you couldn’t be happier with him. He always comes to your work during your breaks and even sits down at a table and orders drinks while he waits you to finish your shift, so there he sat now looking at you so tenderly it made your heart race. He had been here for around 2 hours, ordering various drinks while switching between watching you and going on his phone, the only thing you worried about was how long he had been waiting for you, and that you still had another hour ‘till knock off. So, you continued serving tables and taking orders, making sure he was okay when you could to which he’d reply “I love you enough to wait” with a squeeze of your arm, it didn’t really answer the question but nothing stopped him from leaving so it stayed like that until you finished and as you took of the apron which the restaurant made you wear you felt a pair of arms around your waist and a face nestling into your neck, you laughed. Spinning around to face him and peck his cheek. “I don’t like you talking to all those guys” he pouted “why can’t you just stay with me” he finished the sentence with a kiss to your head and you had never felt more loved.
“I would love to stay with you, Larry, but I have to work so I can pay rent” you smiled, setting down the apron, taking his hand in yours and lightly squeezing it. “lets go, love”
You and Larry walked back to the apartments, hand in hand, until you reached his room. Flopping down on the bed he opened his arms for you to come cuddle him, you happily obliged settling between his legs, your head on his chest as you listened to his heart, his hand made its way to your hair tugging on some strands as he brushed through it with his fingers. “I’ve seen all of you and your flaws ,I still love all of you so much” he said into your hair “I don’t think many others would”
The sentence sat wrongly in your stomach, you couldn’t tell why though. He was right. Not many people would love you flaws and all. So in response you lifted your head, pressed a kiss to his lips
“I know” you said lips still so close you could feel his breath.
The two of you laid like that for hours before Larry spoke again. “Sal invited me over for a movie tomorrow, I want you to come too seems its your day off. I hate when we’re apart” you agreed to go and before you knew it you were asleep, nestled closely to Larry.
The next day you and Larry were at Sal, Todd and Neil’s place snacks in hand, Larry’s arm was around your waist as you waited for Sal to answer the door. Todd and Neil were out for a date for the day so Sal had the place to himself. The front door opened revealing Sal, his hair down and mask on but with the lower straps unbuckled to allow him to eat, he stepped back allowing you and Larry through the door. “hey guys, good to see you” you couldn’t se his face but you assumed he was smiling by the way his mask moved upward. You walked inside Larry’s hand on your waist felt much tighter now.
“yeah dude, wouldn’t miss watching a horror movie with you man” Larry said while making himself comfortable on the couch in front of the tv, snacks discarded on the coffee table, the horror you were about to be watching was sitting beside them , ‘Scream’ it had been released earlier this year but you had never gotten around to seeing it. Sal came over sitting beside Larry, putting himself in the middle, you sat beside him turning to look at Larry he looked a little annoyed.
“you alright, love?” you asked, trying to make sure he was alright.
“come here” he said his voice was soft but far too stern, your eyebrows perked up as you got up going to stand in front of him awkwardly, he grabbed your hands a little too hard as he pulled you into his lap. You were shocked as he wrapped his arms around you caging you in, his chin resting on your shoulder.
“how’s your day been dude” Larry asked Sal, Sal seemed just as surprised as you were, his ears were red. He was probably embarrassed to be sitting right next to Larry as that happened.
“uh, uhm, alright I guess” he said, grabbing the movie and putting it into the DVD player. “are you guys going to that party on Saturday?”
“I mean I would like to..” You looked to Larry, you wanted to go but wouldn’t go if he wasn’t coming.
Larry obviously got the hint as he said “Yeah, it’d be cool to see everyone” and that was the end of the conversation. You each settled in, getting comfortable as Sal pressed play on the movie
The movie was great and you all ended up more comfortable at the end of it, despit the multiple scares you had.
“oh yeah! Sal you just got the Nintendo 64, right?” you said, you nearly completely forgot to ask, you had heard Larry mention it briefly and you wanted to see if Sal would let you come over so you and him could play together sometime.
“yeah, I did, why? You wanna play sometime?” he asked
“omg, yes please! I was gifted Mario Cart but I haven’t been able to play it yet” you pouted and Sal laughed “but yeah I’d love to play it together if that chill with you?” you hardly noticed Larry grip tightening around your hips as you talked.
“yeah, that’d be awesome! Come ‘round whenever, you’re always welcome” you smiled at the words and he rubbed the back his neck; that’s when Larry started lightly biting the sweet spot on your neck, your back arched and you had to clamp a hand over your mouth to stop any sounds. Your face was hot and you felt far too embarrassed to stay in the room.
“i-I-I I’m just gonna quickly go to the bath-bathroom” your words struggled to come out smoothly due to the embarrassment. You quickly rushed to the bathroom; hands braced against the bathroom sink as you tried to calm down. Once your face was no longer burning and your heart and breathing were steady once more you stood up as straight as you could and walked out hearing the hushed whispers of Sal and Larry, they were fighting. You didn’t wanna intrude but it was hard not to let curiosity beat you.
“dude, I don’t like her what the fuck, I would never do that” it was Sal
“why were you eye-fucking her since we walked through the door then” Larry was angrier than you had heard him before.
“I wasn’t, dude, I don’t know what’s going on but you can’t just embarrass a girl like that, she looked ready to cry before”
“so you do like her?”
“what! NO!” they weren’t whispering and you decided to make them stop by heading back to te bathroom and yelling back to them.
“you guys aright out there?” Larry was the one who answered
“yeah babe but I think we should get going now, I forgot that my mum asked me to help out with putting up a shelf”
“okay then” you walked back out to them, smiling, they couldn’t know that you had heard them. Sal was refusing to even look at you, you held onto Larry’s arm “thanks so much, for inviting us we had a lot of fun, right babe?” you tugged softly on Larry’s arm.
“yeah, sure” he rubbed his neck with his free hand and looked anywhere but at Sal.
“it was no problem, thanks for coming” you felt bad for leaving with Larry while they were on such bad terms but there wasn’t much else you could do. The entire walk back to the apartments Larry was pouty, stealing kisses when he could. As you got back he went to Lisa reluctantly following through with his lie to leave Sal’s. it was only an hour before he was back with you in his room listening to Sanity falls and acting like nothing was wrong.
You could hear the music and see the flashing lights of the party from a few houses away, you and Larry walked hand in hand, He squeezed three times ‘i.love.you’ you smiled squeezing back. It was a comfortable silence around you two, you had already talked about your days’ and what you planned to do tomorrow and your plans to move in together once you’d saved up enough money. It was nice, knowing you weren’t going to have to face all the new adult stuff you had to do now you were 20 and fully out of school, alone. As the party came into view you could see most people were already wasted, red cups littered across the lawn along with steamers and someone’s pants. You laughed at the sight; it was a bigger party than you had originally expected but you had no doubt you would at least know most the people there considering how small Nockfell was.
The music was some upbeat pop band and the house was smelt like beer and sweaty bodies. People were dancing and you and Larry had to force yourself through the crowd, it took a while but you eventually found the gang, even ash was there. You hugged each of them, complimented ash on her new hair and you all fell into conversation but the tension between Sal and Larry was obvious. Larry stopped you from drinking saying that he just wants you to be sober and that the alcohol isn’t good for you even as he made his way through his own drinks and after two hours the gang -minus Todd and Neil who had disappeared into a random bedroom earlier- and some kids you went to school with were in a game of spin the bottle. Larry and Sal sat opposite you and ash was a couple people away so far neither you, Larry or Sal had had to kiss anyone and it was soon Sals turn, he leaned forward spinning the bottle, it spun around quickly but a few seconds later it slowed. Landing on you.
The tension in the air was thick and you expected Sal to spin again, but he looked between you and Larry, once and then again; and just like that he was in front of you a hand to your cheek, he lifted his mask enough for his lips to show; you could feel him shaking through the hand on your cheek, your heart was hammering and you were to shocked to do anything but sit and desperately hope he was joking, but his lips brushed yours and then he pressed a soft kiss to you lips.
Larry had stood up, pushing Sal out of the way and grabbing your wrist tightly enough to bruise, he dragged you through the crowd of people and kicked people out of the bathroom before pushing you in and locking the door behind himself.
“Larry? I’m so sorry I was too shocked to move and i-“you were against the wall, Larry’s hands beside your head. He kissed you. It was burning, different to before, he was burning, and you would burn with him. His tongue was in your mouth exploring ever crevice of you, his knee rubbing between your legs
“can i?” despite the alcohol and anger, he cared enough to ask. You nodded
Pushed against the bathroom wall, the heat between your legs growing hotter as Larry licked a line up your neck stopping just before your ear where he softly bit your earlobe, you bucked your hips up to him trying to get any friction against your core. He chuckled in your ear his voice deep and arousing, it sent shivers down your spine as he started sucking and biting at your neck while he trailed one hand down your chest to the waist of your pants. You wrapped your arms around his neck, a hand through his hair softly tugging at strands, he groaned as he trailed his hand down further; you could feel his fingers through the fabric of your pants and desperately tried to get him to touch you more.
“such a needy little thing…” he whispered into your ear before removing your pants, he lifted your leg, holding it just under the underside of your knee. “up”. You happily obliged jumping up, wrapping your legs around his waist as he caught your other leg pressing you harder against the wall to keep you up.
You could feel his length through his jeans and you grinded against it moaning softly as you did. “fuck” his hand slid upward to your inner thigh just below where you need him.
“tell me how much you need me” he growled, and the dark look in his eyes wasn’t like any expression you’d seen him make before. It was hot. So hot. Your arousal was dripping between your legs, you needed him like he was some form of drug and you loved it.
“I need you” you panted “so bad, Larry, please fuck me” you rolled your hips against his to emphasize and just like that something snapped in Larry. Within a couple movement his pants and boxers were at his ankles and his erection ready to enter your dripping sex, pre-cum leaked through the slit and tip was a gorgeous red. You stoked it lightly and Larry’s head tipped back, a moan echoing through the bathroom. His grip on your hips tightened and he positioned himself at your entrance, he rested his head on your shoulder.
“mine, mine, mine, mine, mine” with each word he started thrusting into you, your head hit the wall and you couldn’t hold back the chorus of moans that escaped you, his name fell off your lips like a prayer and he only went harder as you got louder.
His finger circled your clit, his mouth leaving hickeys across your chest. Your tears stained your cheeks at the overstimulation he was giving you. “every time I see you talk to someone, I wanna kill them. You’re mine, mine!” he hit your g-spot with each word, your fingers clawed down his back leaving marks. The knot that had developed in your abdomen was ready to burst and as your eyes rolled back you were no longer capable of words, only senseless babbles.
“I love you, I’d die without you” he moaned, as you came around his dick; And seconds later he was shooting his load inside you. He didn’t slow down though, and as you grasped onto his shoulders panting from your orgasm you realized he would continue fucking you until you couldn’t move.
“Larry” you pressed your forehead to his, your lips brushing softly despite how hard he was slamming himself into you “I love you, I’m not leaving” a tear slipped from his eye landing on your chest. You knew why he was acting this way, he was scared you’d disappear, leave, like his dad and he would try and do everything in his power to make sure that you didn’t.

Kili took a deep breath, as he looked over Dale. The town was beautiful, and he was lucky to be able to look at it during sunrise, every day, before he had to get back to his duties.
He felt the soft wind, running through his hair, and sun glittered in his deep brown eyes. He thought of his wife and daughter, and his mouth had soft dreamy smile in second.
When Kili came back to their shared chambers, he noticed Tauriel, gently stroking their ten months old Y/N's cheek.
"How are my two beautiful girls?" He chuckled, and his eyes were soft, as he looked down at his daughter and wife.
"Papa!" Y/N suddenly let out, and Tauriel and Kili looked at each other in shock and surprise. Their daughter just said her first word!
"You did it, Y/N! You did it!" Kili cried out, and started dancing across the room with his daughter in his arms. You giggled, and Tauriel watched the moment with tears in her eyes.
Five years later
"Papa?"
"Hm?"
"What are you doing?" You frowned, when you noticed your father.
Kili was trying to make a surprise for Tauriel - his wife's birthday was a very special day to him, as well as your birthday - and this year, as any other, it was something sweet. Last year he made her a pair of twin daggers and got all her favourite sweets from bakeries around Dale.
This year, he decided to bake a cake.
Needless to say, it was very funny.
To watch, obviously.
You sat up on the chair, and Kili put his hands on his hips. You looked into the bowl, and giggled. You tasted a bit of it, and frowned.
"Uncle Fili said you can't bake, daddy." You shook your head. Kili nervously looked at you.
"What did uncle Fili say?" You looked at your dad, and decided to tell him everything.
"Well, Uncle Fili said you cannot bake, and that you only eat in the kitchen, and he was right," you said. Kili looked at the light-coloured dough.
"It is salty," you said, and Kili's eyes widened. He slapped his forehead.
"I really switched sugar and salt," Kili sat down to the table, and put his chin on his hands. You wanted to say something, but you noticed his eyes were filling with tears. You jumped off of the chair, and walked to him.
"Why are you crying, daddy?"
"I'm not crying," he said, and got up.
"Can I help you?" You gave him your best puppy-eye look, and Kili sighed.
You just had to get this from him.
"Okay."
When you finally finished the cake, the sun was rising, but you and Kili fell asleep, sitting by the table.
The finished cake was, however, worth it.
Twelve years later
"What did you say?" Kili frowned at you. You shrugged.
"What do you mean?" Kili's usually kind brown eyes had a spark of anger in them.
"That I don't care about you."
"Oh, this. Well, because it's true! You literally make any guy run away from me, and then you make me stay inside! How am I supposed to get to know at least one?"
"You have still enough time for boys." Your father shook his head, as if he tried to get out the idea of dating out as quickly as he could.
"Fine. But if anyone asks, it's your fault," you said half-upset, half-joking.
You almost opened the door, when you heard your father speak.
"You know I want you to have someone who truly loves you," you turned around.
"I...I, um..." Kili deeply sighed. He felt a bit of guilt about the misunderstanding.
"Sit down, please." You did as he said, and he gently took your hands to his.
"When I met your mother, I knew she was...the One. My One. I fell for her even more, when we talked for the first time. And a few years later, there was also you. I was holding you after you were born, and I promised I will make sure you will have the same kind of love, the person you will roll your eyes at, but know you wouldn't want them any other way."
"Dad, I-"
"I didn't mean to upset you. I'm just worried about you and want the best for you, but...the problem is, that in my eyes, nobody is good enough for you. I know you think it's the other way, but, it isn't. At least to me." You felt tears in your eyes.
"What do you think...mom would say?" You quietly whispered, as you felt tears in your eyes. He took a deep breath, probably to try to stop tears, too.
"Your mother would...secretly agree with me, but let you...let you go on an adventure, as long as you promise you are safe." Kili blinked to stop a tear, and sadly chuckled.
"You never know who you meet on an adventure."
You took his hands into yours, and gave him sad smile.
"She is alive. Trying to find her way back, from the orcs. Mom is a fighter."
"I believe too," he said, and looked outside. The sun slid across his face, and made his eyes spark, and showed you the way they used to shine when your mother was still there.
It's been a few months since you and your father talked, and you were on a ride from Hobbition. You liked to visit Bilbo and Frodo, and, as always, told each other news. When you almost got to Rivendell, you noticed someone lying down - with red hair. You stopped your horse, and jumped off of it.
You felt a rush of shock, when you realized who it was. She was full of cuts, but breathing.
You got to Rivendell safely, and when Lindir saw you, you let out just a whisper.
"Help her,"
You had no idea how did you end up in the working space of lord Elrond.
But, having soft blanket over your shoulders and sipping warm tea, after the shock, you wouldn't complain.
"Can I see her?" You whispered. Lord Elrond talked to a healer, and both of them looked at you.
"Your mother is asleep now," the healer carefully said. You nodded.
"Is she-"
"She is alive. We cleaned her injuries, and luckily, they were not even infected yet. You found her just in the right moment." You let out a breath. It felt like a huge weight fell off of your shoulders.
"Get some rest, princess Y/N. It will be good." The healer said, and helped you to get to other chambers, you guessed for guests. You laid down to bed, and fell asleep. You didn't even notice the healer turned around in the door, and slightly bowed, before he walked away.
You woke up into bright sunlight. You realized it was afternoon, and when you properly woke up, you found out you slept almost whole day and night.
When you took a bath and changed into light dress, you decided to go ask healer how was your mother doing.
You carefully knocked on the door. Someone slowly opened the door, and you realized it was the healer you already knew. After a short talk, he told you to get some rest. You decided to listen to him.
You didn't expect to fall asleep next to the bushes of lavender in Rivendell gardens, but the sweet, calming scent was strong.
You woke up with slight headache, and sat aside from the plants. You watched the sunset, and yawned. You also realized you haven't eaten whole day, and looked around for some fruit. You got up, and soon you found a few servants, who were actually looking for you, and as they mentioned dinner, you had no more questions.
At the dinner, you noticed the male healer you met earlier. You blushed when he noticed you looking at him, but he didn't do anything. Later, he catched your eyes again, and send you a tiny smile. You felt yourself smile as well.
After the dinner, Lindir walked you to your chambers. You took a bath, and when you got dressed, you opened your window and put a pillow and a blanket on the floor, to continue watching the sunset, and look at the stars. The sky was bright, and the fresh air made you feel lot better.
You got back to bed, but left the window open.
Your felt familiar smell, as you woke up. For a moment, you were five again, in your chambers in Erebor, and it was your birthday. Only other thing was the itchy feeling on your arms and legs.
Damn mosquitos.
"Mum?"
"I didn't mean to wake you, wildflower," you gasped and sat up, wide awake.
It was really her. Your mother, her red hair shining in the morning sun, looking at you.
Her face was full of cuts, which were in process of healing, and fading scars. Her hair was literally chopped off, now down to her chin.
Her green eyes were, however, full of motherly love. Just as you always knew them.
"This-this is a dream!" You let out a cry. She hug you tightly, and let out a cry too.
"I'm so glad you're safe..."
"What happened to you?" You whispered, as your arms tightened around her, afraid of it being just a dream.
"The orcs prisoned me, I tried to escape, but I was weak and didn't have any weapons. This time, I was finally lucky," she whispered, as she brushed your hair by her fingers.
"I'm here, Y/N. I promise it isn't a dream. I was fighting to run away every single day, and nothing could keep me away from you anymore."
Later that day, you sat down, to write a letter to Erebor.
Dear father,
I had to stay in Rivendell for longer, but, as you will find out - it was worth it...
Two years later
"Kili," Tauriel frowned at her husband. Kili looked at his wife with raised eyebrow.
"It's a boy, Tauriel!"
"And?"
"She's my little girl! She was born like...yesterday," Kili wiped off a tear from the corner of his eye.
"Well, our little girl is having a lovely partner. You will like him." Kili's eyes widened, and Tauriel tried not to laugh.
"You already met him? And didn't tell me?!"
"Well..." Tauriel would roll her eyes. Her husband was literally freaking out.
She didn't have the heart to tell him the reason you went to Rivendell or Mirkwood was because of your love, not because of political...anything.
Before she answered, you walked in, nervously smiling at both of them.
"I have, um...someone I want to introduce to you," you said. Your mother nodded at you with smile, and you sighed and patted your father's shoulder.
"It's fine, dad." You opened the door, and 'the elven healer from Rivendell', as you knew him two years ago, walked in.
"Mum, dad...this is, um, my boyfr-"
"Nice to meet you," Tauriel said, but looked at her husband by the corner of her eye.
"So...you are the elf my daughter is courting," Kili said, and you looked at your boyfriend. Him and your father were watching each other, and you gently took your lover's hand into yours, worried they might start fighting. Until...
They both broke a smile.
"Nice to meet you, Prince Kili. Y/N has told me a lot of good things about you."
"Y/N, would you come and prepare some tea with me?" Your mother asked you, and you both got out of the room.
You listened their conversation, talking about your meeting, and, your dad's, and your lover's, favourite - archery.
"I can't believe it!" You said, whispering.
"I know," your mother tried to hold in laugh.
"They literally-"
"Yes. Seems like they go along well."
"Now my dad will spend more time with my lover than I do," you pretend to be dramatic, but secretly you thought if it wouldn't be better if they didn't like each other.
You walked back in the room, with cups with steaming tea.
"Don't worry. Both of them know who are the best archers in the family," Your mother gave you a smile, and you proudly nodded, as you placed the cups down on table.
"That's not true, I always let you win!" They said at the same time, and you and your mother shared a look.
Later that day, you were with your father in the gardens. He was enjoying the quiet evening, and you were reading.
"Dad?"
"Hm?"
"You know...you said, about boys...that nobody would be good enough for me. In your eyes."
"Yeah." He nodded, and turned towards you.
"So, um...what do you think, now when you met my boyfriend?" You nervously waited for his answer.
"I think...I would never expect to say this, but...I approve him." You let out a laugh.
"Just because you're both good at archery?" He rolled his eyes.
"I wanted to say he seems to be very nice, but that too. We gotta keep the skill in family, don't we?" You shook your head and snorted with laugh.
"As well as recognizing elf men and elf maids." You started laughing when you noticed your father's wide eyes and flushed cheeks under his beard.
"Who told you that story?"
"Well...Uncle Fili has told me many interesting stories from your adventures," you said. Your father quickly stood up.
"Uncle Fili will quickly be reminded of what does it feels like to have younger brother," Your father muttered, as he walked inside the castle.
