#she was experimented on by her father's best friend who was a scientist

Note
When I finished making her. She had a thick looking eyepatch, a facemask that covered both her mouth and neck. Has albinism because i thought there wasn't creepypastas that had albinism at the time. Plus she a tomboy and around 4'11 tall.
(this is where the BATIM sorta comes in) The youngest of the quintuplets. 1 sacrificed himself for her to live. So quintuplets turned to quadruplets now. All grown-up to be around 19 to 20 yrs old. They were a group called Quadra Death/Quadra Fatality/Quadra Suicide. Though I am leaning more towards Quadra de la Muerte (It's too much cringe I know ಠ ل͟ ಠ )
She has 3 more older brothers. In total there are 8 of them (including the one who died). They are all special ink demons. Except the one who died.
Her hoodie ended up looking like Toby with the stripes so I changed it to a black ripped up poncho to match her ripped jeans. BUT THEN PUSS IN BOOTS THE LAST CAME OUT and her top ended up looking like Death (the poncho).
Why does she traumatize and kill people? Because in order for her to continue living she has to make people believe she exists so she does not slowly fade away (in other words die) she is pretty immortal. unless all the people she met and befriended even her enemies. They forget who she is and don't believe she is real.
I am very much aware I made her too overpowered so I never bothered to anything with her. Other than let her live rent free in my head. The lore is pretty confusing to make sense but I'm trying to make it realistic. Been wanting to make comics and art about her and the brothers tho. But wouldn't know if anyone would be interested in the possible chaos they do
English is not my 1st language ಥ‿ಥ
VERY VALID REASON TO KILL PEOPLE TBH i too would do heinous nefarious things if my existence relied solely on whether or not people believed i was real

Lo’akxFem!Human!Reader
This is a longer one
Index: the reader and lo’ak have been bestfriends for years and soon grew feelings for each other but Neytiri doesn't want her son to be with a human
warning/notes: cussing, near death experience, somewhat jealous Lo'ak, angst (if you blink you’ll miss it), not proof read, the war between humans and Na’vi is still going on, in the first part Lo’ak and reader are 15, when the year time skip comes read and Lo’ak are 16, Tsireya is one of my favorite characters but for this story she might be a bitch, i picture y/n as black in all my story’s but i don’t mention skin color nor hair type etc but in this her hair is curly (3b-3c)

You’ve been on pandora since you could remember you were born here along with Spider, but the difference was you were curious about life on earth both your parents were scientist and worked on making you an avatar to just survive around here and it was fully mature when you were the age of 12 even though you were 15 your parents wanted to run a few tests on it before you used it, so your mother gave you her music player that you could take with you anywhere.
It had many songs on it, and you would listen to it all the time. Lo'ak who was your best friend was interested in the music that would play.
Neytiri wasn't very happy about this let alone the fact Lo'ak was friends with you, but Jake brushed it off for he was also human at one point.
As a human girl you weren't that tall compared to the Na'vi only standing at 5'8 the same height at Tuk which you hated mainly because she was 8 years old, and you were 15 years old.
One morning you woke up and grabbed your music player from off the table and started listening to "kill bill" by SZA sining the song as you got dressed for the day unlike Spider you actually got somewhat dressed you walked out your room with your music player and headed outside saying good morning to your parents who were looking over things with your avatar "Heading out" you say as you walk pass them "Mask" your father yelled "Got it" you said as you grabbed the mask and put it on your face walking out the door.
you seen Spider running past you "Bet ill be you there first" you rolled your eyes "Unlike you im in no rush to get there" you say slightly annoyed he would even talk to you you started to ignore him which made him annoyed and just leave you alone.
Finally, after a few minutes you made it to where the Sully kids were Neteyam looked over and noticed you and smiled and walked up to you and hugged you "Hey Tey" you said smiling Lo'ak looked over hearing your voice and a sight pain hit his heart as he watched you hug Neteyam.
You walked over to him and sat next to him he pouted you rolled your eyes smiling "Oh my what is it this time" you crossed his arms and turned his head away from you kind of like a baby who doesn't get what they wanted "Im offended you hugged Neteyam before me" you looked at him with disbelief and started laughing "This is what its about," you continued to laugh he only glared at you "Lo'ak i apologize i hugged Tey before you even if he greeted me before you" you said sarcastically before hugging him dramatically before jumping up and turning to your group of friends "Who want to go swimming?" Everyone nodded and headed to the river.
it was starting to get late the sun was almost setting and you and kiri were talking on a rock about random things, and laughing while watching everyone play in the water you looked at Kiri and asked her “What would i do if i liked someone…you know more than a friend” she looked at you wide eyed.
Lo’ak had looked over at the sound of your laugh and only heard little bit of the conversation “What would i do if i liked someone… you know more than a friend” he didn’t know why but your words hurt him his energy was off the rest of the day and he just headed back home before it got to late and he didn’t tell you goodbye you weren’t the only on who noticed this Kiri noticed too.
You all went back to the mountains where the Na’vi stayed Kiri told Jake she would be walking you back home since it would eclipse “Bye Lo’ak, bye Neteyam” Neteyam waved bye but Lo’ak just ignored you making you stare at him in confusion.
As you and Kiri walked you were thinking about how Lo’ak was acting “What’s wrong?” you looked at her “I’m just thinking about how Lo’ak was acting back at home” you look away from her and at the path ahead of you both “Well, i mean Lo’ak likes you and we all know that you like him back and maybe he heard some of our conversation and took it as you liked someone else” you looked at her slightly guilty “I hope not…I would feel terrible.”
Kiri and you arrived at your home you turned to her and hugged her “Thanks for the talk love you bye” she smiled “No problem love you too bye” she waved as she walked back towards her home as you shut the door behind you.
Your parents looked at you with warm smiles but their expressions changed after seeing your face your mom was the first to speak “You okay baby?” you nodded and took the mask off hanging it up where it’s meant to and walked to your room.
Your parents were left there confused after a few minutes and getting ready for bed and everything you came back to your room and laid under the blankets just sitting alone with your thoughts until your bedroom door opened and you looked up.
“Oh hi momma” you sat up in your bed your back resting against the head board looking at her “What’s wrong?” “Noth-“ she cut you off before you could finish talking “And don’t say nothing your a shitty lier” you sighed “Tell me what happened”
You told her everything and for a moment it was quiet “Look here’s what i’d tell you to do talk him one on one, no friends, no eavesdroppers, just you and him then tell him about how you feel and shit” you laughed at her words “Maybe” “Love ya” “Love you too” she headed for the door and was about to close it then stopped turning around “Oh yea your avatars almost fully matured” you smiled “Hell yea.”
The next night you told Kiri about your plan and went and found Lo’ak dragging him along with you “Bro hurry up” he laughed at you sprinting ahead of him “Hey! don’t fall your mask might break” he said his voice full of worry as you ran, even if he’s not the one you like he couldn’t bring himself to stop caring for you.
You came to a stop at the top of a tree overlooking some of Pandora “Shit” Lo’ak said as he stopped almost running into you grabbing you by your shoulders to keep you both steady.
You laughed at his face but didn’t ignore the fact his energy was still off your turned away from him and sat down allowing your legs to hang off the tree edge, staring at the world in front of you the world looked as if it was almost fake, it was dark but the bioluminescence forest lit up the night, the moon hung over Pandora like a blanket, you could hear animals running around and making noises, and the air smelled like fresh grass and free soil the smell relaxed you.
You stared at the world in front of you. There was a comfortable silence between the both of you for sometime Lo’ak broke it with his voice to “So why’d you bring me out here” you looked at him having to think of your words “Well i want to tell you something I-“ Lo’ak cut you off “Y/n i’m happy for you really i’m glad you found someone” you looked at him confused “I’m sorry what,” you then started to laugh “your joking right, please tell me your joking.”
You noticed he was being serious, and your laughing stopped as you sighed and looked at him "Lo'ak who do you think i like?" He looked out at Pandora "Neteyam" you burst out laughing "Fuck no i do not like Neteyam" he looked at you shocked "What do you mean" you looked at him "Holy shit Lo’ak your slow are you gonna make me do something to get it threw your head.”
“What-“ before he could finish you kissed him Lo’ak’s eyes widened his heart rate increased he relaxed and melted into the kiss, the two of you broke apart you then hugged him just sitting there looking at pandora.
“Lo’ak” Neytiri was looking for her son because it was past eclipse the sight she saw was one she never wanted to see again her son was kissing the human girl she had never wanted around he eyes widened and she ran over to the two of you ripping you apart she hissed at you causing you to stand up and get as far away as you could “Mo-“ Neytiri looked at her son the anger in her eyes causing his words to get caught in his throat “I don’t want you around my son nor my family do i make myself clear” she said anger lacing her words you only nodded and headed back to your humble abode.
That night you laid in bed you couldn’t tell if you were mad or sad, you really didn’t feel anything besides the tears pooling down your face you were mainly just confused as to how Spider can still hangout with them even with all the shit going on between him and Kiri that’s what you were mad and sad because you no longer could you ended up just watching Nexflix on your tablet since your parents still had a connection from earth you could watch movies here so that what you did.
Lo’ak was angry at dinner Neytiri seemed to think she did a good job as a mother telling Y/n she didn’t want her around her kids she had yet to tell Jake of this Lo’am was to angry to be hungry.
Jake noticed “What’s wrong Lo’ak” all the anger that had built up exploded out of him “Mom told Y/n she doesn’t want her around me or any of us she thinks Y/n’s just like the other people, even though you were a human too the only difference was you went into your avatars body so i don’t fucking understand what the difference is between you and Y/n you had a avatar to put your soul in while Y/n doesn’t THATS the only fucking difference she’s still a human and so is dad with or without his Na’vi body and not even you,” Lo’ak pointed to his mom “can deny that you still choose to save him in his human form so before you say anything about Y/n think about how hypocritical your being!” with that he stood up and stomped out of the hut and grabbed his Ikran and flew away.
Jake looked at Neytiri a anger she’s never seen before in his eyes “Neteyam, Kiri take Tuk outside and do something i need to have a talk with your mother” they nodded and headed outside.
“What’s wrong with you” she looked offended “Me ?! Y/n’s kind killed my father, my sister, ruined my home, her and Lo’ak kissed and you ask me what wrong with me” Jake sighs “Me and her father are close He’s like my brother Y/n is like my niece and for you to just push her away and forbid her from seeing our children is bullshit, Tuk loves her like a sister, you have no right to do that Neytiri.”
Lo’ak flew to the lab you lived at and landed his Ikran and crept to your window he peaked inside the room seeing you laying there watching people moving on your screen he recalled you had called it ‘Netflix’ whatever that is he noticed your tear stained face, your red nose, and puffy eyes as if you’ve been crying your whole life made his ears press flat against his head and his his expression change to that of sadness, sadness because he knew it was his mom who said those hurtful things to you, sadness because he knew he couldn’t disobey his mom and be with a human.
Lo’ak hated that word human what was the point of that word honestly every human he’s seen looked the same besides skin color, hair color, hair texture, and gender but they all had hair, five fingers like himself, without tails, and weren’t blue, Na’vi have the same thing most are blue or some shade of blue, have four fingers, no hair besides their head and ends of their tails.
Lo’ak knew his dad was once human which is why he was angry when his mom yelled at you to never come back, means no more hanging out with him, no more making flower crowns with Tuk or telling her stories, no more making fun of Neteyam with him, no more annoying kiri, nothing at all just how it was before he met you, the thought made his sick to his stomach.
Ears still flat against his head and nervousness flooded his body and mind he hesitantly knocked on your window waiting for you to notice him, when you finally did you’re glum expression changed to one of happiness as you paused your show and climbed across your bed to the window to open it you had no idea why he went to your window when your parents always allow him over no matter the time but still you opened the window and allowed him to clime inside his tail bumping your vines and tabistrys hanging off your wall and ceiling.
“Lo’ak watch the tail” he looked confused then noticed he had pulled down a vine and was now wrapped around his tail you helped him get out of the vine before sitting back down in the bed and covering yourself up allowing your body to claim back its warmth.
Lo’ak sits on the edge of your bed not knowing where to start you just watch him waiting for him to do something as your waiting your mom walks in the room and stops before she’s all the way in “Lo’ak when’d you get here, why didn’t you just use the door?,” she laughs slightly “anyways Y/n your avatar will be read to be taken out next week” she said a large smile on her face and shut the door and walked back down the hall, which made you smile.
Lo’ak looked confused “What’s an avatar?” you laughed slightly “It’s my Na’vi body, that looks like me, it just has some human things to it like you” you said smiling before everything was quiet again.
“I’m sorry” you looked confused “for what?” his ears were now flat against his head while his face showed sadness “My mom…” you smiled sadly at him “It’s okay, you’ve got nothing to do with it, but you shouldn’t come around here anymore since i don’t want you to get into anymore trouble” you weren’t sure if it was possible but his ears laid even flatter against his head sad by what you said but he knew it was true.
“We can watch Netflix, listen to music before you go?” he smiled it made him happy you still wanted him around you just didn’t want to get him in trouble, the two of you cuddled the rest of the night watching a show until it was time for him to leave.
“Bye Lo’ak.”
It had been a year since the last time you or Lo’ak seen each other, you had somewhat gotten over the fact Neytiri had forbid you from seeing Lo’ak and the rest of them, you’ve gotten used to fact Neytiri forbid you from seeing Lo’ak and the rest of them, you’ve gotten used to using your avatar along side your parents, even joining them in the lab and doing experiments which you loved, celebrating your 16th birthday, you missed Lo’ak with your whole soul but what were you to do.
Lo’ak on the other hand hated he hadn’t seen you, his family had to leave to find a place to protect them and the people, him and his family went to the Metkayina a few months before, but then Kiri had a seizure and Jake contacted Norm and Max to come see what was wrong.
“Uncle Norm, uncle Max where are we going?” you asked as you were packing your things “Something happened so hurry and meet us at the helicopter” uncle Max said before him and Norm walked out the lab.
You had gotten the rest of your stuff around and walked out heading for the helicopter. You were interested in knowing where you were going but your uncles would tell you anything, Max was your biological uncle because of your mom while Norm was kinda just a close friend of your dad.
You sat there looking at the landscape in-front of you “Holy shit!” you laughed with a smile your Uncle Max smiled at your reaction “Language” he said “Please you were smiling at me” you said rolling your eyes.
This was your first time seeing the ocean and the animals jumping out of it “This is amazing” you said while smiling.
Soon you had landed when you hopped out many pale-ish blue Na’vi were staring at you whispers coming from each of them things like “Her hairs curly like ours but with more noticeable curls” etc. you get it, you walked past then and seen Jake you ran to him and hugged him he gladly hugged you back “Hey kid” he said laughing you let him go forgetting how tall Na’vi are Max and Norm walked up to him “Where is she?” Jake nodded and led them through the village to their marui your eyes widened at the sight “Holy shit, what the hell is wrong with my friend!” you say to Jake “Take it easy, we don’t know” you sigh “I’ll take some scans” Max and Norm nodded.
You scanned her body “So Jake what happened?” Jake had to recall what happened “The kids said she connected her queue to the tree the Metkayina people have her similar to the tree of souls and she just passed out” you look closely “She had a seizure, but it shows nothing wrong with her, her brain work seems perfect, you can let her do it again” Jakes eyes widened “What never??” you sighed standing up “If she does this again and has a seizure under water, she may not survive this time she was lucky.”
Ronal walks in and looks at you and your uncles “It seems i am not needed here” she turns to walk away Neytiri says something to her before your all kicked out Max and Norm are ready to go as they walk back to the helicopter and seen Neteyam and hugged him smiling “Holy shit- Y/n, i’ve missed you” he said hugging you back disbelief in his voice “i gotta go catch up with my Uncles ill see you later” you jogged off catching up with the two grown men “We aren’t leaving yet, not until i know Kiri is gonna be okay” They looked at each other knowing you weren’t gonna let this one slide “Fine” they both said you put your stuff in the helicopter and grabbed your music player and a hair tie you put your hair into a makeshift bun just so it could hold your curls securely and put the headphones on and walked along the beach.
You thought about life a year ago, how you missed Lo’ak, but now you’ve changed within that year gap of not seeing him, you’ve matured a bit more and acted somewhat differently, you didn’t take that many adventures around Pandora anymore, you worked in the lab with your parents and other scientists, became less naive, became more closed off in a way, kept to yourself, got a hell of a lot stronger, you wondered what Lo’ak would think of you now it was eating you alive thinking of all the possibilities.
What if he found a mate.
What if he doesn’t like the person you’ve become.
What if he forgot about you.
No, Lo’ak couldn’t have forgotten about you, but then again where was he you only seen Neteyam, Lo’ak was no where to be found you sighed and dipped you feet into the water allowing yourself to relax and breath.
Soon your thoughts were interrupted by laughing this caught your attention so you walked over your eyes widened seeing Lo’ak with another girl it kinda hurt you knowing he probably moved on from you, but it hurt knowing he made a friendship like your and his with someone else.
You turned to walk away leaving you in your thoughts once again with tears rolling down your face and your curls sticking to the tear trail, before you were pulled out your thoughts ones again “Hey! who are you come back here!” the person yelled based off the voice it was Lo’aks just slightly deeper.
You started to walk faster your face already cleared of tears your only focus was getting as far away from here as you could.
A hand landed on your shoulder to your shock without thinking you grabbed the arm twisted it and pulled it forward flipping the person onto the ground then landing with a thud you eyes widened “Shit i’m sorry” you say quickly before helping the person up.
“It’s all good” the person said brushing the sand out their hair you were very short compared to the Na’vi in front of you “You sure? I did kinda just flip you onto your back” you nervously laugh the Na’vi looks at you then their eyes widen with shock.
Lo’ak and Tsireya were laughing in the water, oh how he wished he was laughing with Y/n.
Lo’ak longed for Y/n everyday since the last time he saw her but when he started to hang out with tsireya the more he longed. That was until he noticed a small human looking figure walking away from the beach where they were “Lo’ak someone’s watching us” reya pointed to the fleeing figure making Lo’ak go after them and end up where he was now in front of the person that flipped him onto his back.
You stood there not sure if he recognized you, the other Na’vi walks up to Lo’ak and rest her hands on his arms giving you a bitchy look you roll your eyes not caring she was taller than you.
The girl looked at you as she held Lo’ak tightly against her “If you don’t mind we’re hanging out at the moment” you rolled your eyes “Yup, my bad” you said moving your body past Lo’aks.
The pair watched you leave Lo’ak thinking you looked and sounded familiar but he didn’t have much time to think about it since reya pulled him along with her Lo’ak kept watching your figure that was until he heard Tuk scream a name he hasn’t heard in years.
“Y/n!!!.”
Lo’aks eyes widened and he ripped his arm from reyas “Lo’ak?” she asked confused “Not right now Reya” Lo’ak ran until he caught sight of the you.
“Hey Tuk” you said looking at her “You’ve gotten shorter” Tuk laughed “Oh? maybe it’s because you’ve gotten taller-“ your words were cut off as you hit the ground “I missed you so so much” you looked down it was Lo’ak he had his arms wrapped around your waist while tears streamed down his face “I missed you too Lo’ak” you said kissing the top of his head over and over again.
When Neytiri seen you a Lo’ak hanging out she hated it, Jake on the other hand was happy to see his son so happy.
Tsireya on the other hand was not so much she blamed you for taking Lo’ak away from her even though it had only been a few months she knew she wanted to mate with him, you were extremely nice to her wanting to get to know her after Lo’ak introduced the two of you, when meeting her you could tell she hated you but you stayed being nice no matter what.
You and Lo’ak spent time together all the time from morning to night, when Kiri finally woke up it was time to leave.
Lo’ak greeted you that morning only to find out you had to leave “You leaving already?!” you smiled sadly “Lo’ak you know i can’t stay here even when if wanted to i couldn’t there no place for a human here” you said looking around eyes settling on Tsireya knowing she would be happier if you left “But when would i see you again?!” you smiled sadly “I’m not sure Lo’ak, but i can promise it’ll be very soon.”
You hugged Lo’ak he hugged you back just as tightly his tail wrapping around your human figure, Tsireya felt a growl in her throat as she watched.
You and Lo’ak parted ways once you’re feet hit the helicopter floor but you knew you’d be seeing him sooner than you thought.

DCxDP: Dead guys stick together
(A Batman 138 fix-it)
After Bizarro becomes King of Hell he watches the mortal world and is distraught to find that his brother/best friend/sorta father-figure has been hurt very badly and is calling out for help.
Distraught, he goes to another lord of the netherworld who he's heard has access to a portal (and subjects a bit more compatible with the act of helping someone). He asks King Phantom would he please please help him protect his brother/friend, and if he does Bizarro will owe him a favor and leave his realm alone.
When the inferno had initially breached the Ghost Zone Danny had thought he was going to have to deal with f*cking Trigon again, but as it turns out that guy's been replaced and the new guy is pretty nice. After a brief cosmic battle and a clearing of misunderstandings, Danny agrees to Bizarro’s request.
While Gotham's vigilante civil war continues on its rooftops, Jason is in a cell. He is trembling, practically catatonic again, and losing his mind. He’s seeing the flaming figure of a knight on horseback appear from the shadowy far wall of his room, like some kind of fairytale nightmare version of Batman. It takes a while for Jason to realize he’s talking.
“... part of the treaty between the King of Ghosts and King of Demons, Jason Todd: Prince of Demons has been granted special status and is henceforth a protected and honorary citizen of the Infinite Realms.”
Nightmare-Bruce touches his flaming sword on Jason’s shoulder and the unearthly fire instantly engulfs him. Relief washes through Jason, and it’s so strong he nearly drops asleep.
Bruce is apologetic when everything’s over and he realizes the mistakes he’s made... but nothing really changes. (It is a relief to Bruce that no one died or was permanently injured, Jason's condition resolved itself somehow, and Bruce is normal now so really everything is fixed or at least it will be fixed.)
Just like when Jason first came back from the dead, Bruce's response makes him hurt deeper than the physical torture itself. Jason is the one who died but Bruce acts like the ghost. Singleminded, possessive, stuck in time and blind to it; bound to repeat the same cycles again and again. Jason is the ghost but he's died multiple times now, and maybe that's kind of like living and maybe that means he can move on.
Dani and Bizarro become friends, and she gets Danny's friend Tucker to somehow set up a working Wi-Fi connection in hell so they can all play games together. (He’s not going to question it. Everything about Amity Park is abnormal. They helped him and they’re good to Bizarro, that’s all that matters.)
Jason forges a fake identity for Dani. He might ask Babs to make a better one for her if she ever needs it but he doubts that's likely. He hasn’t had a living identity for years now after all, he’s an old hand at fake identities. Dani is delighted and starts attending school soon after.
Danny has good friends, and as far as Jason can tell plenty of reliable mentors in the ghost world. You wouldn’t think it, but Jason’s less worried about Danny in his role as a little godling than in his civilian life. He’s got too much on his plate- too much power yet not enough to actually resolve his real issues. Not enough to protect himself where he’s vulnerable.
The “Guys in White” that Danny likes to complain about are concerning. So is the fact that Danny’s lives with mad-scientist parents who are trying to hunt down his alternate identity. So is his ever grinding cold-war with the mayor of his town… And something else too that had been niggling at the back of Jason’s mind ever since he’d first gotten to talk to these kids.
One day Danny’s sister, Jazz asks to talk to him. He’s an adult she says. That’s true he replies. He’s capable of protecting himself and other people, she says. Well, he has the training and experience for it, he agrees. If things go wrong, would Jason let Danny or Dani stay with him- just until she becomes a legal adult? She asks. Jason’s... not the sort of person who should be taking kids in. Danny saved his life though. He won’t say no. He says of course.
Jason knew it. Everything about Amity Park is abnormal.
The town doesn’t technically exist- there are no maps that include it and even satellite imaging is corrupted where Danny describes his hometown is supposed to be. There are no references to it on the internet that couldn’t be referring to a totally different Amity Park elsewhere, and judging by the problems they occasionally had on gaming nights and the odd offhand remarks Danny and his friends sometimes made, it was looking extremely likely that all communications between Amity Park and the outside were being heavily censored. Before Jason knew it he had started a full-on investigation on the GIW, Mayor Vlad Masters, former Mayor Montez, and Axion Labs.
Hope and fear lodges itself in Danny’s chest. Jason’s an adult and he’s actually going to help.

Characters from TMNT 2003 that I personally miss (and kinda wish were in other versions)
Nano: baby robot who had a scientist mom and a criminal dad who each just wanted to use him, either just as a science experiment or to commit crimes, but all Nano wanted was a family (and he should have been adopted by the turtles, he should have been their 12!Metalhead/S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N.)
Silver Sentry: Superman? The American Ideal of Truth and Justice is a Kind and Funny Black Man who is genuinely good friends with Mikey? Sign me up!
Nobody: An Ex-cop who tried to go after the corruption in his own precinct, and while he could be less of a cop, he just wanted to stop crime and make sure no one got hurt, even the gang members he went after and the billionaire that bought his old precinct and got him fired.
The Justice Force: Having a superhero team in the TMNT universe just feels right. It's a superhero universe, the Turtles are Superheros; having fellow heroes to work with and both be mentored and mentor others gives the wider world so much depth on top of the turtles having a reliable group of people to call on when things got too dangerous and out of hand.
Angel: She wasn't Casey's sister, but he treated her like a little sister and she was a good mirror character to Casey. She had all of his flaws but as a younger person he had taken responsibility for she provided a way for Casey to address those flaws in himself while helping her avoid taking a bad path.
Professor (and the knockoff Jay and Silent Bob who hung out with him): Homeless characters need to be People. Professor was a person and a fully round character and I hate it when homeless people are just props and not people.
Augustus O'Neil: April's uncle who gave her her adventurous spirit! You can really feel his influence on her personality and can tell that he encouraged her to become a scientist. (though I think it would also be fun to make him her dad. Come on! April and August? The Father-Daughter duo we deserve.)
Casey's Mom/Ma Jones: Look, sure, she was rude to April, "testing" her to see if she really cared about Casey, but that's kinda understandable given the kind of people Casey would likely hang out with (criminals and vigilantes) and she apologized immediately after. And, Ma Jones knew Splinter (the master ninja) and Leo (his best ninja student) were there and helping April pass her "girlfriend test" the whole time, but she didn't want to say anything about it to not offend her son and his friends.
The Daimyō: Even if he's not the runner of the Battle Nexus, he was Splinter's Friend. His relationship with Splinter let the audience know Splinter had a life outside of his family, that there are other people Splinter knows and can go to, who he can talk to about being a parent and just hang out with.

After the Applause (Ch. 6)
Tumblr media
Header and linebreaks by @awrkives
Single Dad Jimin x Female OC
SUMMARY: Jimin doesn't know how he would have made it this far after the shattering of his world without the support of his thoughtful, generous, helpful neighbor. Hanbyul has lived next to hottie Jimin and his adorable daughter for years now, long enough to remember the wife he was so devoted to and lost far too young. With each safely ensconced on their side of the brick wall of the Parks' grief, it will take an enterprising little scientist to set the stage for a second chance at love.

Hanbyul stared at the website confirmation page and felt certain she’d fucked something up. She hated this feeling, like she’d done something wrong. She’d probably attached the wrong thing, or missed some egregious typo, or maybe she sounded annoying in the cover letter. Maybe her headshot wasn’t actually a good likeness.
Thank you for submitting your resume and application. One of our recruiters will be in touch with you shortly.
She belatedly felt stupid to have done this on a Friday afternoon. Now the soonest someone would contact her would be Monday, which gave her at least forty-eight hours to convince herself that applying was the most embarrassing thing she’d ever done and that they were going to laugh at her application and print it out just so they could chuck it in the trash.
Enough of that. She steeled her resolve (to do the thing she had in fact already done) and closed her laptop and crossed her arms in an attempt to look as confident as she wanted to feel. She deserved that job. Some parts were outside of her skillset or experience but most of it was familiar. A man wouldn’t let some pieces hold him back from applying. A man would apply and convince the interviewer why he was still the best candidate for the job, and so that’s exactly what Hanbyul was going to do.
Because only about 20% of boardrooms in the country consisted of women and while Hanbyul wasn’t applying for a board position, that’s where she was reaching. Someday she was going to get there, and she’d take Sun-young –maybe by then a successful young scientist– out for coffee and say Thank you. Thank you for reminding me that we face extra challenges in the workplace and it’s our responsibility not to hold ourselves back because others will gladly do that for us.
Hanbyul would not be held back! She’d give it her all to get this new position with its better pay and improved benefits. If it didn’t work out, she’d apply for others. She’d call her parents more. She’d clean her apartment this weekend. She’d stop putting Namjoon off and finally have a truthful conversation with him –her responses had been vague and she was certain he could tell. Right now, she could do anything! Even with her trembling hands!
Because a nine-year-old had convinced her she could. Sun-young had inspired her, it was true. Her determination and serious efforts to convince her father that she ought to do science club had shamed Hanbyul into applying because she refused to be a woman who let her childhood confidence fade away. Not that she had ever been as confident as Sun-young, but it wasn’t too late to catch up! She wanted to be the kind of woman Sun-young apparently thought she was.
So she needed to do that other thing, even though she’d been dreading it: she took Hudu on a walk and called Namjoon.
He picked up on the third ring, a little breathless but cheerful sounding. Not for the first time she wished she could just text him about this but he deserved more than that. Hopefully he wouldn’t be too upset. Hopefully he wasn’t that invested. He couldn’t be, right?
“Hanbyul? Hey, I was just thinking of messaging you–”
“Hi Namjoon. I, um… I’m sorry, I have sort of disappointing, um…”
“Bad news? Are you ok?”
She cursed how sweet he sounded. The confidence after submitting her resume began to drain away. Why was she doing all these exhausting things in the same day? She had foolishly overestimated herself.
“I’m ok but… I know I haven’t been very responsive lately and I wanted to just be direct because you’re really great and you deserve that.”
“Ah.”
“I’m really sorry but I’m just…”
There was silence on the line. She appreciated that he seemed to understand without her saying much. Or maybe he was just shocked. Stunned. Heartbroken?! Oh god, she’d never broken anyone’s heart before.
“Look if you’re just really busy right now or something, I get it. I know I’m traveling for work a lot too, so…”
“It’s not that. I mean, I am busy, and I just applied for a better job so maybe I’ll get even busier but–”
“Oh congratulations, I hope it goes well–”
“Aish, don’t be so nice,” she complained. “I feel awful, Namjoon. You’re such a great guy and–”
“You don’t have to do that. I mean you don’t have to comfort me. I mean, it sucks, because you’re… but…”
She tugged Hudu to the side of the path so she could stop and squeezed her eyes shut. Why couldn’t he be an asshole about this? She’d feel so much better. She was aware that she was stupid, that this was stupid, that she was ending what could become something good with a great guy for no reason. Or at least not a good reason.
“I feel like shit.”
“It’s ok.”
“No, don’t you comfort me!”
“Can I just ask… it’s ok if you don’t feel comfortable, but I just…”
She waited, trying to ignore the way her stomach twisted and her face flushed and the blood rushed in her ears. This was awful. She didn’t have much experience calling things off with men and when she did, the guy had usually seen it coming and not cared that much anyway.
“Did I do something? Is there some… feedback you can give me or…”
“You didn’t do anything wrong at all,” she quickly insisted. And then because she felt too miserable and clung to a piece of driftwood she thought might make it better: “You’re such a great guy. To be honest, I kind of have feelings for someone else and I thought I could get over it but I can’t and you deserve better than that.”
For a moment he was silent again. She could hear his breathing; he always seemed to hold the phone so close to his mouth when he spoke.
“I get it,” he said. “That really sucks. Sorry you’re in that situation, and I hope he figures it out quick.”
“I don’t think he will but… um… thanks. And I’m really sorry, Namjoon.”
“Don’t be sorry. I had fun.”
“Yeah, me too.”
“And uh, give me a call or something if you’re ever not… not feeling things for someone else, I guess.”
“I will,” she blurted out because she couldn’t think quickly enough on her feet. She ended the call before she could say anything else stupid and pressed it to her forehead. Had that gone well or not well? She couldn’t tell. She supposed it could have been worse… but she felt like she shouldn’t have mentioned having feelings for someone else. What if he somehow figured out she meant Jimin?! And it was a cop out anyway because that wasn’t the only reason. She was emotionally compromised, but she didn’t break off with Namjoon for Jimin. Jimin wasn’t an option! She just didn’t see a future right now with anyone who wasn’t… Jimin.
She felt punchy in a different way now. She practically jogged home with Hudu, which she never did and clearly confused him; he kept looking up at her like he expected someone else might be holding the leash. Once home, she dug through her cabinets looking for anything to soothe or distract but her cupboards were practically bare. Why did she have so many ingredients but no food or alcohol?
It was in this state of desperation that she received a message from Jungkook.
Jeon Jungkook: hey re hitting up hongdae club aura and youre coming
Hanbyul: ok I’m in
Jeon Jungkook: wait really???
Hanbyul: did you mean to invite someone else? 😅
Jeon Jungkook: you but you never take me up on it!
Hanbyul: I don’t want to sit at home tonight
Jeon Jungkook: ok ouch didn’t need to make an excuse
Jeon Jungkook: whatever, you can’t bring me down, see you at 10
Hanbyul: TEN?!
Jeon Jungkook: why are all my friends grandpas? 10 is early! Don’t you bail on me too
Hanbyul: I’ll see you at 10 if you can actually get us in…
Jeon Jungkook: you’re cute, you’ll get us in
Hanbyul laughed. Hard. She knew she ought to be giddy for a man who looked like Jungkook to say that kind of thing, but he said that kind of thing all the time in a way that didn’t actually feel very specific anymore. Only after the date was set did she have a rush of terror realizing she had just agreed to go out clubbing with Jungkook… but it was true that she felt jittery and didn’t want to be home this evening. She felt like she could do anything! Even stay awake until 10pm to go clubbing on a Friday night!
She had a sneaking suspicion she knew exactly which of Jungkook’s friends had insisted ten was too late at night. Though he’d obviously be the hottest one there, she didn’t think Jimin was into the scene –certainly not in the time she’d known him. She had absolutely no concern that Jimin would be at the club. She also felt like this might be a good chance to really establish a platonic friendship with Jungkook and quiet her slight fear that she was leading Jimin’s close friend on. You know, since she’d already slept with and ghosted then dumped another…
Her dress was short. It was the shortest dress she owned. She didn’t really own revealing clothing, nothing sexy for hitting the clubs, but she’d bought this dress that was a little too small and so that would have to do. She’d just have to remember not to raise her arms or… disaster!
She kept tugging it down as she made her way inside with no issue –Jungkook had put her “on the list” and texted her to come on in, which seemed really suspicious. He was easy to find, practically spot-lighted under a round table in a distant corner, animated and laughing with another guy and two girls.
She carried herself bravely forward, nerves instantly frazzled by the loud music, pulsing lights, and close bodies she had to weave her way through to reach them.
“Hey you didn’t bail!” Jungkook cheered when she reached his elbow. “My only true friend.”
The use of friend instantly set her at ease, though she wasn’t prepared for the names lobbied instantly at her amidst their shouts of protest at his remark: Jung Hoseok, Park Andi, and Han Chun. Years and connections were shared and she tried to keep up over the noise of the club, answering the questions as formally as a job interview. She had hoped no one noticed how nervous she was to be out with people she didn’t know, but Jungkook seemed to because he insisted on buying her a drink, which she was overwhelmed into agreeing to. Only when he returned with her cucumber something in hand did she realize there were two men and two women and Jungkook had just bought her a drink and maybe calling her his friend was all part of his plan. Even though that seemed absolutely ridiculous when both those women looked–
Oh. Hanbyul realized she had miscounted.
“I can’t even count!” she groaned and let her face fall against her hand, not even caring that the slump might smudge her makeup or transfer oil to her chin and give her acne. Who cared what a girl who couldn’t even count looked like!
“Who’s counting? You don’t need to count anything right now,” Jungkook laughed. “You want me to do some math for you?”
“He can’t do math,” Hoseok immediately ratted him out. “Don’t ask him to do math, he just picks a number.”
“That’s not true!”
Andi giggled and leaned in close to agree, “He acts like he’s thinking really hard and then confidently gives a very wrong answer.”
“He doesn’t need math, he’s so pretty,” Chun suggested, though Hanbyul couldn’t tell if her smirk at Jungkook was predatory or just teasing. She didn’t know these people, and clearly her day was beginning to take a toll, so she really shouldn’t have come out.
“Shut up, don’t blow my cover. Hanbyul’s a smarty, don’t make me look stupid,” Jungkook laughed.
Hoseok nodded and agreed, “I’ve heard about it.”
“About… me?” Hanbyul clarified, tilting her head.
“Neighbor Hanbyul,” Hoseok confirmed, which made more sense, even if it made her a little sad to be still Neighbor Hanbyul. “Sunnie talks about you a lot too.”
“Ahhh that girl.” Hanbyul grinned as a warmth blossomed in her chest. That was better, at least. “She’s amazing, isn’t she?”
Jungkook’s stare and slow grin made her nervous as he nodded, the others confirming. It was quickly made clear they all knew Jimin and Sun-young –Hoseok was a teacher at Jimin’s studio, Hanbyul was quickly educated on, and Chun and Andi both danced with him and Jimin. When asked if she’d ever seen Jimin dance she admitted that she hadn’t and chose not to disclose her YouTube history. There weren’t many videos on there but there were a few! Anyway, they clearly meant seen him dance live, so it wasn’t a total lie.
“We hear a lot about your son, too,” Hoseok added. Hanbyul, mid-sip of her cucumber something, promptly choked. Jungkook seemed to take great glee in pounding her on the back.
“My what?”
“Hudu?”
“He’s a dog!”
“A dog can be a son!” Hoseok laughed with the rest of the table. He smiled with his whole face and it reminded her so much of Jimin she could almost believe they were related.
“Honestly a dog is the best son,” Andi insisted. “Like, I love Sunnie with my whole heart, but I don’t want kids of my own. I’ve got a cat and I want a dog too but I don’t think I’m tough enough to walk one in the winter.”
“You’re not tough enough,” Jungkook agreed; Andi dipped her fingers into her glass and flicked the droplets his direction.
“I would die for my dog,” Chun announced. “I can never have kids while he’s alive, it wouldn’t be fair to him.”
Hoseok sighed and admitted, “My dog still lives with my parents.”
“It’s their dog,” Jungkook snorted.
“It was my dog but I couldn’t have him with me at university housing when I was younger, and they were all so attached by the time I moved out on my own so– but we could get a dog,” he said, pouting his lips in Jungkook’s direction as if it all came down to his choice.
“I want a dog,” Jungkook agreed.
“Well fuck, let’s get a dog! Woah, but is it a betrayal of Mickey, that’s what I’m worried about…” Hoseok sighed and slumped.
Hanbyul murmured sympathetically and sipped her drink faster. She did not understand what was happening. On the surface she appeared to have joined a group of very fun, down to earth people who just happened to look insanely gorgeous and not of this world in shiny button-up shirts and sequined dresses. It was a complete injustice for these people to be both fun and look like that, and Hanbyul the boring dowager in her plain dress.
Yet at the same time it made perfect sense because these were Jimin’s friends, and he was like that too! Hanbyul felt utterly stupid for having agreed to come out and yet simultaneously, selfishly fascinated. She felt like Jungkook had opened a door for her that Jimin had not, letting her see this adult social aspect of Jimin’s life –arguably without his permission. Not that he owned these people or anything… but if part of her reason for being here was to learn more about Jimin and get closer to him in that way… fuck, she was a creep! Would she have ever even talked to Jungkook if he wasn’t Jimin’s friend? She doubted herself now.
“I’m getting another, do you want one?” Andi asked, nudging Hanbyul in a friendly, familiar way that she was flattered to have somehow already earned .She didn’t want another one, but she also did.
“I can buy you something back,” she offered Jungkook before following Andi.
“It’s fine.”
“I insist.”
“Ok, whatever you get.”
“Even if it’s girly?” she checked.
He gave her a horrified look and clarified, “It’s a drink, there’s no gender.”
Hanbyul too was horrified and insisted, “No, I know! But sometimes men are so–”
“I’m just fucking with you. Girly is fine, I don’t discriminate.”
Hanbyul did not know what to make of him, especially since Hoseok was now leaning to the side laughing into the final sips of his beer.
“Forget this, I’m coming too,” Chun decided. “They just want to stand around and drink.”
“We’re going to get more drinks…” Andi pointed out.
“But we can dance on the way and back!”
In that way Hanbyul found herself boxed onto the dance floor for a period of time that could have been ten minutes or an hour, she couldn’t have said. The music was high energy and heavy-bass and she couldn’t tell when one song ended and another began. Her movements felt painfully clumsy next to the graceful way Andi and Chun twisted and swayed. It would be obvious to anyone observing that she was no dancer –but everyone was packed too tightly for anyone to really observe. Hopefully.
She was glad when it ended, and that relief led her to agree to the round of shots Andi bought. Chun missed her mouth slightly, the rum dribbling down the cleavage of her dress, which Andi dramatically helped her wipe. Then they leaned in close with Hanbyul and scouted out the hotties along the bar, of which they considered there to be very few.
Hanbyul kept waiting for one of them to ask her something pressing or private –maybe why Jungkook had suddenly invited her along, or why she’d come, or why she thought she should delve further into Jimin’s life when she was just his neighbor– but they didn’t.
The closest was Chun asking, “What do you think, Hanbyul? Anyone at this bar catch your eye? What’s your type?” But she didn’t have any malicious twinkle in her eye or bullying smirk, it really seemed like just a sincere question! And Hanbyul began to realize that maybe she was getting too used to workplace politics and competitiveness and it was interfering with her ability to just make friends. Was that what was happening here?
Maybe it was that hope, or maybe it was the alcohol starting to do numbers in her blood, but she admitted, “I don’t think I have a type… at least not one that has worked out for me.”
“Oh no. Something recent?”
“Oh… I did end something recently… but it wasn’t his fault, it was…” Oops. Just in time she realized she couldn’t say more about this without revealing way too much –not only because all roads led to their friend Jimin but also because she’d only just met these girls! “It didn’t work out,” she summarized.
“Another shot?” Andi asked, already signaling for the bartender.
“No, wait–”
“Yes!” Chun agreed. “You can feel sad about it tomorrow if you really want to, but tonight there’s dancing!”
“I’m a terrible dancer,” Hanbyul found herself confessing. They were overwhelming, both of these women, pressing another shot into her hand. It was bitter this time and made all three grimace and smack their lips.
She thought they’d missed what she said anyway but Andi insisted, “There’s no such thing as a terrible dancer. Technique? Sure. But dancing is just… feeling! It’s just moving! It’s just breathing.”
“You have clearly not seen me.”
“I was dancing with you five minutes ago!” Andi laughed. “And now I’ll dance with you again, let’s go!”
Hanbyul had Jungkook’s and her drinks in her hand, but did her best to shimmy and sway adequately along with Chun and Andi in the direction of the table. She felt ridiculous but their acceptance was a balm on her self-conscious soul. Jungkook and Hoseok leapt up at their approach and began dancing as well. It was just such a completely different club experience than Hanbyul was used to when she would go out with work peers, or longer ago when it was college friends rotation around her, drinking too much, picking at each other’s appearances and achievements to feel better about themselves in what felt like a hunting grounds for sex.
This didn’t feel that way at all! Hanbyul found her nerves dissolving with each sip, with each song (assuming it wasn’t just one long song playing which she thought entirely possible), with each moment of shared laughter. It was impossible but she began to feel as though she had known these people for a very long time.
Also the alcohol helped.
Hoseok spun her around –vaguely she recalled making some comment about ballerinas– which led to her promptly over-balancing against him, or it was possible Jungkook had bumped into her, and possibly on purpose because they were dancing near their table and the space was tight and everyone was very close together. She felt barely on her feet and slid around to lean against the table instead and catch her breath so she didn’t accidentally drag Hoseok down. Their empties were gone and she hesitated over the waters, which had now sat unguarded for some period of time. She ought to get water fresh–
“Hey hey! You came out after all!”
Hanbyul didn’t know how she even heard Jungkook’s shout over the noise other than her sixth sense suddenly shooting an alarm up her spine. She turned, not even bothering to hope it was literally any other friend of Jungkook’s than Jimin.
No, worse.
There was Jimin, an eyebrow lifted and his mouth open in surprise aimed clearly, undeniably in her direction.
And there beside him, both eyebrows lifted and mouth open in surprise aimed clearly, undeniably in her direction, was Namjoon.
“Fuck!” she choked out.
Jungkook gasped and grabbed her arm, asking, “Did I step on your foot?”
“No but I suddenly need to go home– I mean yes, I need to go home.”
“Shit, how bad–?” Jungkook dropped to a crouch, reaching for her foot. Which was a very bad look, she thought. She leapt away from him, but teetered again because the alcohol. The alcohol! Shit, she could not be drunk at a club like this in the presence of either Jimin or Namjoon and most definitely not together!
“I’m fine, but I’m heading out. Goodnight!” Would they believe that she hadn’t seen them and that’s why she wasn’t greeting either one of them? All of this had happened in the span of four seconds.
No, it wouldn’t make sense, even her alcohol-riddled brain knew they were directly in front of her.
“You really don’t have to leave on my account–” Namjoon said.
“Why do you have to go, just because I’m here–” Jimin said at the exact same time.
They stopped and looked at each other and Hanbyul lost at least three years off her life.
And then mercifully, before they could say anything, Andi flung her arms around their shoulders and cheered, “You sad sacks came out after all? Let’s get you some motherfucking drinks!”
“Wait, you’re both really here? You never come out!”
“I have a kid,” Jimin defended, suddenly all smiles as Chun descended, pinching his arm and brushing something off his shoulder.
“I, uh,” Namjoon coughed and looked over their heads. “I just don’t like places like this.”
“Oh sorry it’s not refined enough for you,” Andi tittered. “Too busy at art galas and restaurant openings to consort with club scum, huh?”
“Andi,” he complained, dimples flashing, all the charm Hanbyul had initially liked about him. And yet she felt so closed off from it now, like she could recognize but not really connect with that charm. How could she when Jimin was there beside him, glowing like her north star?
Hanbyul saw her chance and took it. She ducked around them all and tried to flee for the door. She could call an Uber and be speeding away, looking back through the rear window, before anyone even noticed she was gone.
Unfortunately, the club was a confusing place and after weaving across the throng of dancers, she’d been carried by the current upstream to the bathrooms.
“Shit-shit,” she mumbled to herself and darted inside because she really did need to pee too and better to do that now. Maybe they’d think she was already gone and stop looking for her and she could still escape. She took her time, braced every time the door opened for it to be Andi or Chun ruining her escape. But as some amount of minutes (uncountable because alcohol) ticked by, she steeled herself and found her confidence. She could get out of here. Whatever Namjoon and Jimin talked about in her absence, at least she wouldn’t be here to face it. That was a Tomorrow Hanbyul problem. Today Hanbyul needed to get the hell out of here.
She stepped boldly from the bathroom in the direction she was certain was the front door –and ran boldly into Namjoon.
“Hey.”
“Oh, hey, Namjoon,” she said, thinking as she said it how casual and cool she sounded. Might as well tack on hey, wow, I didn’t see you, didn’t know you were here!
“Hey look, I– sorry, I guess I surprised you… I didn’t know that you uh… knew these people… or would be out at a club… tonight. This club. With these people.”
“Oh, yeah, it was sort of a… a spur of the moment thing. Jungkook invited me along and I didn’t want to just sit at home so…” Her words caught up to her and she realized how terrible that sounded. I dumped you but I also didn’t want to be bored so I just went clubbing.
“Ah. So Jungkook uh… is the guy…? I didn’t even know you knew him…”
“What guy?”
“That you said…” He leaned in close as the music took a turn, and the warm scent of his cologne was unkind as he said closer to be heard, “You said you had feelings for–”
“Oh! NO THAT’S NOT HIM!” she shouted, stiff-arming him away. A little too roughly, she realized, and quickly grabbed his arm and apologized, “Sorry, I– I forgot I told you that. No, it’s not him. He’s just a friend. Sort of. And I– sorry, I’m a little drunk right now kind of?”
“Ah.”
“I didn’t just break things off with you and go party, I was feeling pretty bummed so I thought I’d do something out of the ordinary…I mean, it was the right thing to do but like I said, um… but now you’re here and…” And Jimin is here…
“Hey, it’s fine,” Namjoon assured her. “If you aren’t comfortable with me here, I can leave but if it’s ok, I can be cool.”
“You’re very cool,” she agreed.
He smiled, a handsome dimpled smirk like she hadn’t answered his question correctly, and corrected, “I just mean, I’m only going to be here for a drink and then I’ll go. This isn’t really my scene so don’t let me chase you away.”
“Ok.”
“And uh, just so it’s out there, if you… ha, nevermind. I’m just going to get my drink, don’t mind me.” He held his hands up and backed away and Hanbyul hated not knowing what he’d been about to say. Maybe: if you want to be friends, that’s cool, I can refrain from ever letting anyone know we had sex and a few dates. She hated that he was probably not saying that.
Almost as much as she hated seeing Jimin standing not too far off, having clearly watched their interaction.
She couldn’t go talk to him. Not while Namjoon would see her and she would probably say or do something that would make it immediately obvious who Jimin was to her because damn he looked so good! He’d gelled his hair back and rolled the sleeves of his dark button-up to his elbows. The club lights flickered off his earring, as if he needed any help from a spotlight to draw eyes to him. Hanbyul felt like the crowd dramatically parted, like the lights shone specifically for him, from him.
She couldn’t read his expression, couldn’t tell if he was confused or annoyed to see her invading his friend group, or if he had a guess as to what had happened between her and Namjoon. For all she knew, Namjoon had told him everything before they came tonight, or in the time since she’d fled the table, and Jimin had come to demand what the fuck was wrong with her.
But Namjoon was a class act, maybe he hadn’t said anything. Maybe Jimin was only curious about why she and Namjoon had been speaking so closely. If she left now, all Jimin would know was whatever Namjoon said about it. If she stayed and everything seemed cool, maybe Jimin wouldn’t think anything weird was happening. She’d mentioned before she spoke to Jungkook through the app, so it couldn’t be a total surprise she was here.
It made sense in her mind, and was a better excuse than that other thought: I just want to hang out at a club with Jimin.
Who was she kidding, she couldn’t stay here!
He was walking towards her and she couldn’t move.
“Hey,” he greeted when he reached her and she wondered if he ever used that line on women at the club because it would totally work, looking like that.
“Jungkook invited me and I had a really long day so I thought it would be good to get out of my apartment,” she blurted out in an attempt to distance herself from Namjoon in one sweep.
“It is a good idea,” Jimin said. “I didn’t know you went clubbing.”
“Rarely.”
“Me neither.”
“You look like a natural,” she assured him.
“Clubber?”
“Huh?”
Jimin shook his head and laughed, “Can I buy you a drink?”
“Me?”
“Uh… yes?”
“Yes,” she said, despite knowing she really shouldn’t. More alcohol was the last thing she needed but Jimin had offered! Jimin twisted his hand behind his back so she could hold onto it and trail him through the club to the bar. Jimin asked her what she wanted and paid and she felt bad to let him pay but he’d bought her a drink!
Drink in hand, she was the one to lead them back to the table, though it had been abandoned; all Jimin’s friends were dancing. She thought to join, but Jimin leaned against the wall and she felt anchored to his side.
He nudged her arm and asked, “So how do you know Namjoon?”
“Dating app,” she answered quickly. “And Jungkook. I think all your friends are on there… I make a lot of friends on there… it’s not just for dating!” What was she even saying? She thought maybe if she said “friend” enough it would be enough to save her.
“Friends, huh?” He was practically shouting to be heard, not leaning in as close as Namjoon had. She wished he would; she felt like the distance meant something. “I don’t know anything about apps but I started an account today. Guess I’ll see you on there, huh?”
Hanbyul didn’t know what to do with that information. Why had he made an account on a dating app?!
Same reason as you, moron. Park Jimin was ready to start dating again, that’s what it told her. He’d come to the club looking like that, so maybe he’d been hoping to meet someone here. He must be, to come out when he didn’t normally. The thought of watching him pick up a woman made her break out in a cold sweat. What if she ran into her leaving Jimin’s apartment in the morning–no, probably he wouldn’t take someone there with Sun-young at home, but maybe she was spending the night somewhere else?
“I hear it’s tough though,” Jimin said, still shouting. “Namjoon had a thing going I guess and it ended today so I made him come out too.”
Oh god, he knows.
“I’d rather meet people the traditional way,” he continued.
“Here?” she asked, face twisting into a grimace. “I guess it depends on what you’re looking for.”
“Ah… I don’t know…”
“Not all of us meet people as easily as you but I don’t think you’ll have a hard time,” she shouted back.
He pressed his hand over his eyes and then laughed, “I don’t know what I’m doing.”
“Do you need a pep talk before you go hit on someone?” she asked, drawing on all of her strength to be what he needed in this moment and not do what her drunk brain was encouraging her to (lean in and kiss.) “You are brave and smart and funny and–”
“Are you giving me the same speech you gave my daughter?”
“Maybe!” she laughed because he was laughing and because it all felt briefly very funny, having this shouted conversation in the club with Jimin. Encouraging him to go meet a woman “the traditional way” (drunk in a bar) to take home and do the things she wanted to do with him and hope he didn’t find out she’d done those things with his friend already… but different things! Similar in theme but different!
He finally did lean in and begin, “You know what she told me today? She– hey, maybe we should go somewhere we can hear–”
“HEY!” Chun suddenly appeared, followed in short order by Hoseok. “The fuck are you wallflowers doing?”
“Come dance,” Hoseok agreed. “You can talk at home!”
There wasn’t room left to argue. She and Jimin were dragged out, downing their drinks on the way to abandon on a table, and then pressed into the dancing mob. Hanbyul had hoped to position herself so she could at least dance near Jimin, but her hesitation when faced with Namjoon and what he might realize about her feelings towards his friend was just enough time for Andi and Chun to slide in between. Instead Hanbyul found herself on the fringe with Jungkook and Hoseok.
Maybe that was for the best. She was like a baby: without Namjoon or Jimin in sight she was able to forget them, aided by alcohol and loud music and the antics of these two of Jimin’s friends. Despite being physically graceful men, they were clearly just having fun with dancing; both grinned and laughed and didn’t take themselves too seriously which helped her feel less self conscious about what her less-drunk brain would have termed “awkward motions at best.” Maybe she was getting the hang of dancing in the club! Maybe she’d be confident enough now to dance over closer to Jimin!
Abort abort abort!! Hanbyul froze at the familiar way a random woman danced with Jimin, her hands trailing over his body. Maybe she wasn’t random? Jimin did not seem put off by it, just laughed and lifted her hands but kept her close. Hanbyul wasn’t sure what to make of that. Was Jimin really that bold or did he already know that woman? Hanbyul couldn’t imagine dancing with a man like that. The envy flooded her.
She tried not to look again but it was hard not to. She felt suddenly like a switch had flipped and all the fun she’d been having abruptly turned off. She was being stupid jealous. Hadn’t she just encouraged Jimin to go meet someone? And they were just dancing. And even if it went somewhere, it wasn’t any of her business.
“I need water,” she announced to no one in particular and disappeared again, responsibly leading herself to the bar. It tasted weird and unpleasant in her mouth, and at the first sip she had the urgent need to pee, which meant another swim upstream through the crowds to reach the restrooms. The club was becoming less fun by the minute.
She didn’t think that much time had passed but when she tried to find the group again, they’d scattered. Trying to locate them was a fool’s errand; she’d think she saw one only to squeeze her way there and find it to be someone else. She was all twisted around. The room felt overly loud, the music too loud, the lights too bright.
There, Jimin!
At the bar, nodding as the woman from earlier leaned in close to say something in his ear. He said something back, right in her ear, then appeared to look around before shaking his head. The woman touched his arm.
Hanbyul knew her night was over. She couldn’t stay here and watch him pick up a woman. She shouldn’t have been here in the first place. She could still see Namjoon out of the corner of her eye, that good guy she’d dumped for no reason other than that it was casual fun when she wanted something serious with someone who was not available, only for him to immediately find her out at the club. She couldn’t find Jungkook. She barely knew Andi and Chun. Her feet hurt and her head was swimming and she felt like she kept getting drunker even though she hadn’t had anything to drink in a while.
Oh no, she realized with a longing for sobriety. I drank too much. Control of her arms and legs felt exaggerated, and the music felt like it was leaking into her skull, and she had the impulse to take off her clothes because it was so hot in here.
Don’t do it! The last tendril of her rational self pleaded with her to behave. She shushed it gently with a finger to her lips.
“You!” a voice at her elbow called. She spun, expecting Jimin, finding Jungkook.
“You were lost!” she cried.
He glared and wagged his finger, “You disappeared! I’ll be in deep shit if I lose you!”
“With the proper authorities?”
“Wha?”
Someone bumped into her and she edged closer to Jungkook with a pout. She didn’t want to be here anymore. She wished Jimin would take her home –no, Jimin wouldn’t take her home, even though they lived right now to each other. Jimin might be taking someone else home.
“He’s still talking to her,” she realized, her eyes landing on Jimin despite the crowd. She couldn’t tell if it was the same woman but it didn’t matter. Jimin was going to take home whatever woman he wanted and meet more women on the dating app and Hanbyul was going to have to just sit back and cheer him on. She wanted to cry.
“Hey, you ok? You look like you’re about to cry.”
“I want to go home,” she said in a small voice. “I’m too drunk…”
“Ah, damn. No, don’t cry.”
“I won’t cry,” she vowed, though didn’t quite believe it herself.
“What? I can’t hear you… let’s just get you home,” he said, as best she could tell. When he nudged her towards the door, she let him guide her out. It had cooled off considerably outside and she shivered. The sudden shift in volume left her feeling teetery, as if she’d been leaning on the noise and body heat.
“How drunk are you?” he asked, hand gripping her arm.
“Um, just a little bit… I can get a cab…” she pulled her phone out of her purse and promptly dropped it on the ground. “Oops.” It was embarrassing for Jungkook to see her like this. She didn’t know how she’d gotten this far, just one drink leading to another, and it was all fine until suddenly she fully understood she was watching the love of her life–
“He’s not the love of my life,” she insisted.
“What now?”
“I don’t know, where’s my phone?”
Jungkook held it up, but promptly overbalanced and fell on his ass. Only when he started laughing did Hanbyul consider she wasn’t the only drunk one, and it was overwhelmingly comforting in that moment. A few tears did leak out then.
“Shit, you’re crying. Let me go get Jimin, he’s better with that kind of–”
“NO!”
“No… Jimin?”
“Can I sleep at your place?”
“Uh…” Jungkook looked up at her from the curb. “Yes… but–”
“Not to have sex!”
“Ok geez.”
“No, I have to get home to Hudu… where’s my phone…”
“It’s dead,” Jungkook told her.
Hanbyul promptly sat down beside him on the curb and sighed, “Well shit.”
“I’ll get you home.”
“You don’t have to.”
“No? I should just wave and let you walk off? Jimin would shred my balls and peel the skin off my body.”
“Ew,” she gasped.
“Oh he can take you home, he lives right by you.” Jungkook began to rise but Hanbyul knocked against him to send him sprawling again. “What the–”
“No!” she cried on a delay. “Anyone but him.”
“Anyone?”
“It can’t be him. He’s… busy.”
“Busy…?”
“Like… flirting. I don’t want to get in the way.”
“Nah, he won’t mind.”
“I can’t! He can’t see me like this! Who knows what I’ll say?!”
“What’s the worst you can say?” Jungkook laughed. “‘I’m in love with you’?”
Hanbyul grabbed his arm, eyes going wide, and demanded, “Did I say that?!”
“Wha?”
“How did you know that?!”
“The… fucking… wait… do you?”
“Did Namjoon tell you that?!”
“What does Namjoon have to do with anything?”
“I didn’t tell him who but I didn’t think he would show up today and why is Jimin friends with everyone in this city–”
“He’s a friendly guy.”
“I know and I know I’m just a friend so you don’t have to tell me but I still didn’t mean to…” She trailed off, unable to bring herself to admit she’d fallen in love with him, or unknowingly slept with his friend, or that her jealousy over him even talking to other women in the bar right now was going to consume her.
“Hey.” Jungkook nudged her arm with his. She gave him a miserable look. “I don’t think you’re just a friend.”
“Thanks, Jungkook. That’s sweet of you… I think…”
“No, I mean–” A car interrupted him, pulling to a stop so close that they both scrambled backwards. “Oh that’s our car.” She thought it was too soon for a car to have arrived. How had he even ordered one on his phone without her seeing? They scrambled into the car like a pair of street rats.
“Oh my god I’m too drunk I shouldn’t have been saying any of this! Stop making me talk!”
“It thinks it’s the alcohol.”
“Too much,” she sighed. “Why did I come out with you?”
“To have fun. Admit it, you were having fun.”
“I was, until…”
“So you’re like… in love with–”
“Stop saying it! I didn’t say that.”
“You pretty much did,” he tittered.
“You can’t tell him. Promise me. Promise me, Jungkook, not a word!”
“Why would I tell him your business?” Jungkook snickered. “I think you should tell him. And let me watch.”
“Jungkook. Jungkook Jungkook Jungkook–”
“Hanbyul, what.”
“We can never tell him,” she said with utmost sincerity, grabbing his hand and squeezing as tightly as she could. “He can never know.”
“Why not?”
“He and Sun-young are too important to me. Do you understand?”
“Yeah but what if you’re important to him too?”
“I am. I get to take care of Sun-young sometimes and he likes my cooking…” She closed her eyes because the car ride was making her dizzy. At least thinking of Jimin helped settle her head just enough she didn’t think she was going to puke in the backseat of the Uber. Probably.
“Yeah but what if he thinks you’re more important than your cooking?”
She smiled and wished she could move enough to pat his head as she explained, “He doesn’t but I can be happy with being neighbor Hanbyul, but not less than that if I make him uncomfortable and he stops talking to me.”
“I don’t really know you a lot but I don’t think you should settle.”
“That’s sweet.”
“Yeah, I’m sweet,” he agreed. “I think it matters, love and romance and… and thinking someone is the best part of your day…”
“Are you a romantic?” she gasped.
“That’s what I’m saying!”
“I thought you were a…”
“A what?!”
“A flirt…” Fuckboy.
“I am a flirt. I can be both. And I’m not setting for anything less than… I’m waiting to meet someone who gets all red faced talking about me like you do about Jimin.”
“I do not! I’m just drunk!”
“It’s cute.”
“I wish I could fall out of this car and have it run me over.”
Jungkook laughed hard and Hanbyul actually felt all right for him to know her secret. At least for right now. Even though he was one of Jimin’s best friends, at least right now her drunk mind did not perceive a threat that he would run and tell. Right now he felt like her friend too, like they were just two drunk girls in the bathroom sharing secrets. Except it was the back of a cab and his only secret was that he wanted to be in consuming love someday. To be honest, Hanbyul did not think being in love agreed with her so far.
Because yes, she was a little bit in love with Jimin and so far it was nothing but stomachaches.
They walked together up to her apartment. She thought he was just being a gentleman, but when she got back from the quickest pee she’d ever taken Hudu on, she found Jungkook puking in her bathroom.
“Mixed my alcohols,” he groaned.
Well, Hanbyul was drunk enough to spill her secrets but not enough to puke. With any luck, Jungkook wouldn’t even remember these conversations tomorrow; she hadn’t realized he was as or even more drunk than she was.
“You can sleep on the couch,” she told him.
“The couch? Come on, let me share your bed.”
“Jungkook!”
“We don’t have to fuck! Jimin would never forgive me–”
“Stop talking about it!”
“About fucking? Or Jimin? Or fucking Jimin–”
“Jungkook!”
“Come on, you’re practically my sister in law at this point, just let me sleep in your–”
“I am not! What are you talking about?!” She covered her face and leaned against the wall. And refused to admit that she felt some secret little thrill in this teasing, in someone else making her connection to Jimin seem real and acceptable and possible. Even though she knew it wasn’t and that Jungkook was just a brat who was enjoying teasing her –which was sweet in its own way but she was definitely going to die of embarrassment tomorrow if he remembered any of this.
When she uncovered her face, Jungkook was holding Hudu, swaying slowly with the pup under his chin, and humming.
Until he suddenly set Hudu down and sprinted to the bathroom again. At that point he decided he wanted the couch after all, since it was closer to the toilet. Hanbyul brought him a trash can too and a glass of water, by which point he was already asleep. Not that she was far behind. The room spun as she lay in bed, the events of the day sliding and jostling over each other.
Jimin was so handsome. And sweet. And charming. And kind. And handsome.
It didn’t matter what Jungkook said. Jimin wasn’t interested in her like that, as evidenced by his attention to other women, as evidenced by his mentioning dating other people to her several times now, as evidenced by his joining of a dating app when there was a perfectly ok Hanbyul down the hall.
Plus… Namjoon.
Well. This had been fun. But Hanbyul was never going to drink again and never going to go out with Jungkook and their friends again.
But first she made sure Jungkook was asleep with traitor Hudu curled up on his legs, and closed her bedroom door, and let her vibrator walk her through the memories of the way Jimin had looked and danced, except this time around her, kissing the lingering taste of his drink into her mouth…
Tumblr media
Jimin slept like shit. Every time he’d start to doze, he’d grab his phone again, squinting at the blinding brightness to see if there was a message back. Occasionally he’d manage to fall asleep only to bolt up, certain he’d heard his phone ring –that obnoxious awful ring he’d put on ever since that one time Sunnie’s school hadn’t been able to get hold of him because he always kept his phone on silent and they’d called Hoseok, the second emergency contact, to go get Sunnie and she’d thought it meant her dad died too.
There was never an obnoxious ring going off. Instead he drifted in and out of sleep until Sun-young was awake, enough of an excuse to get out of bed and go through the motions of making them both breakfast and rattling off their plans for the day. Not that there was much for this one blessed weekend. Jimin wasn’t teaching any classes or partaking of any workshops or attending any performances by fellow dancers. Sun-young wanted to see her friends but there was nothing planned yet, and she had no weekend dance since there was no reason for her to take on extra. It wasn’t time for dress rehearsals yet. For her final recital.
“We need to grocery shop,” Jimin suggested, because their fridge was empty and that made him think of cooking and food and Hanbyul, which was better than thinking of Sunnie quitting dance. Hanbyul who had not answered his phone call or either of his texts asking if she got home all right. That wasn’t excessive, was it? But she’d been very drunk, and every time he’d tried to make his way over to her, Kim Hayoon kept catching hold of him again –and he couldn’t exactly just shove her off because she sat on the board of a scholarship that aided many of his students, which in turn kept his lights on and doors open.
Hanbyul must be ok. Just hung over. Hoseok said he’d seen Jungkook getting her an Uber and while Jimin would have greatly preferred that someone let him know Hanbyul was heading out so he could catch a ride home with her, he knew he could trust Jungkook. The fact she was drunk was both obvious and endearing, he could see it in the way she danced without her usual reserve, and the exaggerated way she responded when anyone talked to her. She just had a different look in the club when they’d talked that he couldn’t quite explain but it had just felt… different. He hadn’t understood she was drunk at first when they spoke, and maybe she wasn’t yet then, maybe that came later. He didn’t know, she just seemed happy. He had gotten painfully little actual time with her and the injustice of that was palpable. She’d looked amazing and he had never in his life expected to be at a club with her and he would have liked to dance together. Preferably just the two of them… and what the fuck was wrong with him that he hadn’t managed to make it happen?!
“I’m not hungry,” Sun-young said, possibly related to his comment about grocery shopping. He closed the refrigerator, now several degrees warmer, and looked over where Sunnie poked at her gyeran bap, cheek resting on her hand.
“You want cereal instead? We have…” He trailed off, realizing they had none. Hanbyul might have some he could bum off her…
“No,” Sun-young sighed. “Can I watch TV?”
“Sure, but we should go grocery shopping today and figure out what else we need to do… laundry… do you have homework?” Even as he said these things, he frowned. He did need to do these tasks, but he also wanted to just have fun with his daughter. Maybe Hanbyul could come along? He could tease her about last night, make sure she understood he had wanted to dance with her–
But to what end? He’d dance with her and maybe she’d humor him and only think to herself a little why is this old dad wanting to dance with me at the club? Why is he even here? He didn’t usually go to clubs –not because he didn’t enjoy them but because he didn’t usually have the time or energy. But Namjoon was bummed because that girl he’d been dating had called things off and it wasn’t serious but it kinda sucked and so Jimin had called in a favor with Yoongi and put himself together and gone to the clubs.
And there was Hanbyul, for no reason he could comprehend at the time, long hair pulled back to show off her neck, wearing a cute very short dress he’d never seen her in before… vibing with Jungkook. For a moment he’d lit up like a holiday tree with surprise and envy and relief, because here was an opportunity to spend time with Hanbyul in an adult setting except she was already spending that time with Jungkook!
And then there was whatever Namjoon and Hanbyul had been talking about by the bathroom. He didn’t realize she’d gotten to know so many of his friends around him and now he felt even more like an idiot not to have invited her into his circle long ago. They clearly got along with her, she seemed happy –except for that moment she spoke with Namjoon, and looked so distressed it was hard to hold himself back from running in to save her. Maybe he should have. At the time he’d hesitated because Hanbyul wasn’t his to save and whatever they were talking about wasn’t his business. He’d been anchored by that twist of displeasure that she was young and single and pretty and so were his friends.
Sun-young curled up on the couch with a blanket and watched some kid drama with an unblinking, disconnected stare. It dragged Jimin from his thoughts of Hanbyul.
“You ok, Sunnie?”
“I’m tired.”
That was wildly unlike her. Jimin perched on the edge of her couch and touched her forehead but couldn’t decide whether it was unusually warm or not.
“Does anything hurt?” he asked.
“I don’t know.”
“Your head? Your stomach? Your throat?”
“I don’t know, I just feel…”
“Yes?” he prodded, waiting for the revelation.
“Tired.”
Illness in Sun-young always raised a panic in him on par with what he’d experienced when she was only an infant and he and Subin young, inexperienced parents convinced every sniffle could be the first sign of something fatal. Most parents learned over time through proof of the contrary that colds were common and their child was healthy, though the fear always lurked in the shadows. But when Subin was suddenly very sick, and only a short time later died, it broke that security in Jimin. Any illness could be the last one.
The doctor’s office was used to his overreactions at this point. He didn’t care, though he tried to reign it in once Sun-young made clear she found the coddling overbearing. He tried to trust her assessment of her own body, but she was a child! She gave him nothing to go on this time anyway, just tired, so Jimin checked ears and nose and throat, took her temperature, pressed on her belly, took her temperature again.
“A small fever,” he murmured.
“I think it’s just a cold,” she said, drooping to the couch again. She nudged his leg. “I can’t see.”
“Your vision is hazy?!”
“You’re blocking the TV.”
“Oh…”
“My throat hurts a little,” she conceded, as if throwing him a bone in his worry. He had thought it looked a little red, her lymph nodes a bit swollen to touch.
This called for an aggressive offense of yuzu jelly tea, popsicles, and Sunnie’s favorite stew samgyetang. But they were out of popsicles, there was only a scrape of yuzu jelly left in the jar to make tea with, and of course he had no samgyetang readily on hand.
He glanced at the clock. It was nearing ten now. Surely Hanbyul would be waking up –even if she’d slept in with a hangover. In fact, he had some Easy Tomorrow she could drink! He should have taken it over last night and regretted his thoughtlessness now. She might be having a rotten morning and it would be shitty of him to show up and ask if she had any yuzu jelly or could make samgyetang for his sick daughter.
But she might be already making it for herself, and she might not mind sharing the jelly, and she might appreciate the Easy Tomorrow later than never. Plus he could confirm with his own eyes she’d gotten home safe.
“I’ll be right back.”
“Where are you going?”
“Just to see if Hanbyul has yuzu jelly.”
“Tell her to come watch TV with me,” Sun-young said from her blanket burrito. “You can say I’m sick if it makes her come.”
“I think you are sick, kiddo.”
“I’m just a little tired.”
She coughed immediately afterwards, as if even her body couldn’t stand by the dismissal of her symptoms. Jimin would never. Already he was evaluating just how far he’d let her symptoms get before he’d take her to the doctor. The answer: not very far.
He felt a twinge of guilt as he knocked on Hanbyul’s door. She might have a headache so he started quietly but when he didn’t hear anything, graduated to the buzzer.
He tracked footsteps to the door and then a pause during which he assumed Hanbyul was peeking through the peephole to see who was bothering her on a Saturday morning. He ran his hand through his hair, hoping he didn’t look too rough.
The door swung open to reveal Jungkook wearing yesterday’s clothes and looking puffy-eyed and crusty. He yawned and scratched at his cheek and gave Jimin a sleepy grin.
“Hey, Easy Tomorrow, thanks,” he said, reaching for the bottle. “I was just heading out. Hanbyul’s still asleep if that’s who you’re looking for.”
Jimin was so completely stunned to be confronted by Jungkook answering Hanbyul’s door that he could only stammer out, “Who else would I be looking for at Hanbyul’s apartment?”
“Yeah, good point.” Jungkook unscrewed the cap from the bottle and downed it in one long chug while Jimin just stood there, waiting for an answer to any of the questions he couldn’t find his voice for: why are you waking up inside Hanbyul’s apartment wearing yesterday’s clothes? Why did you go home with her? Why did you invite her out in the first place? Are you two dating now? Did you fuck?
Bottle empty, Jungkook handed it back to Jimin and clapped him on the shoulder as he said, “It was good you came out last night. I think everyone had a lot of fun.”
“Uh… yeah, uh…”
“Fuck. Think I’ll get some more sleep at home… see ya later. Tell Sunnie I said hey.”
Jungkook did not seem to realize that Jimin was stunned speechless. He set off down the hall, leaving Hanbyul’s door open as if Jimin was going to just waltz right in. She wasn’t even out of bed yet! Had she slept naked after Jungkook…
Jimin pulled the door shut, making sure he heard the click of the lock before sprinting back to the safety of his own apartment. There he snuggled down beside Sun-young and pulled out his phone to order yuzu jelly tea and stew and anything else he could think of that they wanted for delivery, cost be damned.
What the fuck?! Had Jungkook really gone home with and slept with Hanbyul?
Jimin couldn’t even process it. Jungkook ought to know she was off limits! But also, of course Jungkook wouldn’t think she was off limits, because Jimin never said so, because she wasn’t off limits. Even if it felt wrong for her to not be off limits. Even if Jimin and Hanbyul weren’t dating, she shouldn’t be dating any of his friends either, right?? Because… because there was still an emotional connection there…
Jimin flat out didn’t know what to do. Everything in him warred between marching right over, coming out with it and seeing what she said… and doing anything in the world except that.
But coming out with what? What did Jimin have to offer Hanbyul? Absolutely nothing in some areas and too much in others. A single father, a dead wife, a heart still trying to adjust to the idea of letting someone else in. If Hanbyul was interested in Jungkook, then Jimin was not the guy for her. Jimin should be looking for someone older and settled or something anyway, right? Maybe someone with a kid too, so they could mutually burden each other –not that he thought Sun-young was in any way a burden, but it was a lot to ask someone who wasn’t a parent to suddenly become one!
“Is unnie coming?” Sunnie asked, sitting up and leveling a pink-faced pout in his direction.
“Oh uh, I don’t know, she wasn’t awake yet.”
“Can you call her? I really want her to come over.”
Jimin stroked Sun-young’s hair and took her acceptance of this touch as proof she was very sick.
Would it be such a bad thing if Hanbyul wound up with Jungkook? He could use someone to look after him, and she could use someone who could be fun and free with her. And she’d still be in Sunnie’s life, just as an aunt instead of…
Was he really thinking of Hanbyul like this? It wasn’t in any explicit way, words still seemed impossible and ill-fitting and heavy. He didn’t know what he wanted, he doubted Hanbyul wanted this nameless space, he was too afraid to look directly at this thing taking hazy shape in his mind, this future starting to come into focus. Did the future have to be big and scary? Wouldn’t it be the easiest thing in the world right now for Hanbyul to walk in from the other room and settle on the couch with them, legs folded beneath her, Jimin’s arm around her shoulder and Sun-young draped across their laps? Hanbyul’s head settling onto his shoulder…
The physical closeness was the only thing that would be new, and he wanted it. He craved it in such a sudden, overwhelming rush that it almost drove him from the couch to take a lap around the apartment to work out this restless energy. He wanted Hanbyul here and it wasn’t fair that she wasn’t. Sunnie wanted her here too! Couldn’t they just have what they wanted this time? The scene was playing out in his mind, the casual affection, Hanbyul’s hand stroking Sunnie’s hair, Jimin’s fond smile, maybe a soft shared kiss once Sun-young drifted off to sleep halfway through the movie. God, to kiss Hanbyul, to share a warm, close embrace that he’d been deprived of for years! And for the first time in as long, the longing for it didn’t bring him to his knees in grief. Subin was there in his heart, forever and always, but there was space for Hanbyul too, space he desperately wanted her to fill. Butterflies fluttered in his stomach as he stared at the empty space on the couch as if she was really there, as if they were sharing the phantom first kiss. His flush was as real as if they had.
God, he was pathetic. Lonely, and latching on to a fantasy of his neighbor. He tried to push the thoughts from his head with limited success and turned to narrating the TV show to Sun-young instead until she insisted he stop.
“Is this what you want to watch? Here, let me get you socks and your stuffie. Maybe you need some medicine too? I think delivery will be here soon–”
“Appa just stay still with me.”
He immediately froze, still as a statue as Sun-young adjusted in his arms, her little warm body curled up with his in a way he’d feared she had outgrown.
Well he sure fucking wasn’t moving now.
“Ok. I’ll stay,” he assured her.
“Did you message unnie?”
“Yes,” he partially lied. “But she has something else going on. It’s just going to be us, ok?”
“Ok,” Sunnie sighed and he felt her head getting heavier against his chest.
There. There, if she could accept it, he could too. They didn’t need Hanbyul or anyone else in their lives. The two of them and the memory of Subin were a whole-enough family. Things were already getting better between them since he’d budged on the dance and science, and the future would be ok.
He’d let Jungkook know to take care because Hanbyul was a good woman, and then he’d let go of that silly dream he’d almost fallen into.
He had Sunnie and Sunnie had him and they didn’t need anyone else in the world.
Except maybe someone to get the delivery at the door so he didn’t have to unsettle his sleeping daughter. Shit!

“What do you think, kid?” Quentin Beck asked after Peter Parker’s insistence on him trying on Peter’s ‘EDITH’ glasses, and Quentin’s reluctance to put them on. Peter watches his new mentor as he looks around wearing the gift from his former mentor and father figure, Tony Stark. As Peter thought about his late father figure and his inheritance of the high tech Stark glasses, he thought about the question that has been on his mind since he got the glasses, why did he get them? It was only when he looked back at Quentin when Peter Parker Parker was suddenly hit with realization.
“"Next Tony Stark, I trust you."” Peter mutters faintly, seemingly sorting something out.
“"For the next Tony Stark, I trust you."” Peter repeats confidently.
“What?” Quentin questions.
”Mr. Stark left me a message with those glasses: "For the next Tony Stark, I trust you."”
“I'm still not following. How many lemonades have you had?” Quentin jokes, not seemingly understanding what the young Parker is saying.
“He knew every mistake I ever made, okay? So he must've known that I was not ready for something like this.”
“Why would he give it to you?”
”Because maybe he didn't trust me to have EDITH, he just trusted me to pick who should. It makes so much more sense. He always knew I would do what's right. And he's not gonna give them to Fury because Fury would give himself EDITH.”
”Aye, you're probably right about that.”
“Right, so the world needs the next Iron Man. And it's not gonna be me. I mean, I'm a 16-year-old kid from Queens. It needs to be an adult with some experience and that's good, like Tony Stark, like you.” Peter looks up at Quentin in hope.
Quentin, visibly perplexed, shakes his head and immediately removes the glasses from his face.
“No. Peter, come on. No.”
Peter grabs the glasses and activates E.D.I.T.H.
“EDITH?” Peter asks.
“Hello, Peter.” The E.D.I.T.H. AI responds.
**”**Hi. Yeah... Um, I'd like to transfer control over to Quentin Beck.”
“Peter, what are you doing?”
“Doing the right thing.” Peter says confidently.
“Any transfer will require confirmation.”
Mysterio holds back, evidently not eager to take control of the glasses.
“Stark gave you the glasses!”
“Stark gave me a choice. It's my choice to make, okay? And I'm gonna make it. You're a soldier, a leader. You stopped the Elementals. You saved my life. You saved the world, okay? He'd want you to have them.”
Beck remains silent, now somewhat resigned.
”Waiting for confirmation.”
“Confirm.” Peter confirms with a new found sense of confidence.
Peter takes the glasses off of his face and as he moves to pass them to Quentin, a hand intervenes, grabbing the glasses from Peter’s hand.
“Stark Override.” The voice is so familiar to Peter that it only takes a beat for him to register who it belongs too. The one and only, [Name]Stark; his best friend.
“Hey! What are you doing [Name]???” Peter asked accusingly. He had just figured out what Mr. Stark wanted him to do with the glasses and now she takes them?
“EDITH transfer control to [Name]Stark.” [Name]continues, seemingly ignoring Peter’s words.
“Transfer complete.”
Peter just looks at her with his eyebrows furrowed and an annoyed glint in his eyes. Quentin Beck, on the other hand, had balled his fists and was staring daggers at the young Stark girl.
“Why did you do that [Name]? And how did you know I was here?” Peter asked incredulously, standing up.
“Do you even know who he is?”
“Yes. Quentin Beck.” Peter looks her dead in the eye before whispering. “Mysterio.”
“No, not that. Did you know that he was a scientist working on the highly advanced "illusion tech” for Stark Industries?”
“Well no, but–”
“Did you know that he did not like that we ended up using the tech as device used by therapists?”
“No.” Peter started to rethink what he knew about the man. Was he really like this? Was he ever going to tell him? If he didn’t want Mr. Stark to use the tech for therapy, what did he want to use it for?
“But he is not a bad guy!” Peter defended. “He has been helping be defeating the elementals!”
[Name]looked at Quentin with a look Peter could only interpret as a death threat. Scratch that. Promise.
“Another thing,” [Name] started, before looking back at Peter Parker. “This man, he has no powers. And guess what? There are no elementals! None, that you have fought at least.”
“What!? But we fought them! I felt them, they ruined property, and put people in danger and you are going to say they weren’t real?!” Peter’s mind was spinning, confusion was flooding his mind like when the elementals flooded Venice. Or didn’t flood Venice. What was happening?
“Peter, those were real, they just weren’t “elementals” as this man has seemed to put it.” [Name]stated as she pointed her finger right in the face of “Mysterio”.
“Did you really think you would get away with it? You put all of those people in danger, for what? More of the tech, a chance to get Peter’s glasses? What did you really want to do with them?”
He doesn’t have powers? How was [Name] here? How did he fight things that weren’t there? Why has he been so kept out of the loop? Didn’t Quentin put an effort in to deny the glasses?
“It doesn’t matter now. You have stolen tech from Stark Industries and have used it to cause harm. You are under arrest.” As she said it, about a dozen agents stormed the bar and arrested Quentin Beck and several others in the bar.
“Peter Parker you have been manipulated and if you know what’s good for you, you will go back to where the rest of our class is and go confess to MJ or whatever, okay?”
Peter looks around aimlessly, trying to get a grasp of what just happened.
“What you’re just leaving me like that? What the hell just happened?”
“Peter, please tell me you don’t actually think that Tony Stark gave you to the glasses because he wanted you to find the next Tony Stark.” [Name] watched Peter with a soft and sad gaze, all Peter could think is how much he miss Mr. Stark.
“I- I just wanted to make him proud.”
“Peter Parker, you were like a son to him. You have no idea how proud he was of you. That is why he gave you the glasses. He trusts you.”
“He was proud of me?” Peter asks carefully.
“Of course he was proud of you. He knew how smart and worthy you are. Now, you are not getting these glasses back until you know that you are already worthy of them. Goodbye Peter.”
“Goodbye [Name].”

The heart of the Universe
We have encountered extraordinary characters in the Star Trek universe over the last five decades. One of those amazing characters is none other than Dr. Beverly Crusher, the Chief Medical Officer of the Starship Enterprise-D. Not only was she an accomplished doctor and scientist, but she was also a mother. This is where her story showcases just what kind of person Beverly is.
Tumblr media
Let's take a quick trip down memory lane, shall we?
Beverly didn't exactly have the most amazing upbringing. She was orphaned at a young age and was raised by the only family she knew; her Grandmother, Felisa. Beverly mentioned she was an awkward child, often lonely, and didn't have many friends. She survived a cataclysmic disaster on Arvada III before settling down in Caldos with her Grandmother. Beverly found solace in helping others and it gave her a sense of gratification and she decided to take those ambitions to Starfleet to become a Doctor. This is where she meets Jack Crusher, they marry and have a son named Wesley. Her new life with her family was a stark comparison to how she grew up and for Beverly, life couldn't be more perfect… or so she thought.
When Jack died in a Mission accident, Beverly was now a single mom of her 5-year-old son and was determined to make his life the best possible. She continued her career in Medicine and Science, even becoming a Commander. She also made sure Wesley had every opportunity to grow his interest and become who he needed to be. This leads them to Enterprise-D, where Beverly is now the Chief Medical Officer and her son can have hands-on experience with his interests. Though, her complicated relationship with the Captain, didn't deter her from doing what was best for not only Wesley but for herself. However, as Jean-Luc and Beverly grew closer, her relationship with Wesley grew apart.
As Wesley got older, he realized that following in his parent's footsteps and joining Starfleet was not the path he should be on. Wesley joined the Travelers, magical space and time beings, leaving Beverly behind. This was the hardest decision for Beverly because she always wanted to make sure to be there for Wesley and now that he was on a path she didn't fully understand, she was completely out of her element. This wasn't a typical empty nest syndrome, this was complete uncertainty about if she will ever see her son again. And sadly, she never really did…
Tumblr media
Beverly's career and love life (to Jean-Luc Picard) was the only thing she had left in her life. Her family was now gone and all she had was her crew. She loved her crew of the Enterprise and they loved her just the same, but Beverly had a void in her she never thought she could fill. She wanted more children, but because the on-again off-again relationship she had with the Captain was uncertain, she didn't think it would happen. Especially because he made it very clear he didn't want to have a family. Yes, she could have moved on to someone else, but in typical "Beverly" fashion, she put others before herself and loved wholeheartedly and loved Jean-Luc very much to the point that it hurt. I do not believe she could have easily moved on and she wouldn't want a child just out of need. That part of her life was now over and she had to figure out what to do next.
After one last attempt at their relationship, Beverly and Jean-Luc broke up and she left the Enterprise. Even though Beverly was now alone and with only her career at hand, she was surprised to find out she was pregnant. Even though she attempted to tell Jean-Luc the news, she had a hard time getting it to him as he was always in some sort of danger. This is where Beverly's maternal instincts kicked in and she felt she had a second chance at being a mother and she wasn't going to let anyone hurt her child, not even the father. As much as she wanted to be a family with Jean-Luc, she couldn't in good conscience risk her child's life of the uncertainty of being the son of Jean-Luc Picard. It was bad enough that she had to endure the pain of his life being at risk, she couldn't do that to her unborn child. And after losing Wesley, she couldn't risk losing another child.
Tumblr media
Beverly left her career and her entire life behind to raise and protect her son, Jack. This time was going to be different in Beverly's mind. With Wesley, she gave him the space he needed to grow and didn't hover over him, but she still lost him nonetheless. Since Jack was her second chance, she wanted to be a part of his life in a different way, expose him to many great things and share that experience with him. Though Jean-Luc was not far from her mind, she kept him close by telling Jack stories about him and playing songs that Jean-Luc shared. She made it clear his father was a wonderful man, even if he couldn't be there with them. Beverly would have never exposed Jack to being a fatherless child, but she never could shake the feeling that if the universe knew who Jack's father was, the consequences would be dire.
As we saw in the recent Star Trek: Picard installment, Beverly was right. Beverly could no longer protect Jack from the villainous beings that were now after him, and she had to turn to the only family she knew: The Crew of the Enterprise. Beverly felt she failed in protecting Jack, but after a week of letting the news that he is a father settle, and seeing just the kind of danger Jack was in, Jean-Luc reassured Beverly that it was a testament to her strength, love, and loyalty that kept Jack safe all this time.
Finding out that Jack was special with abilities beyond her comprehension, didn't help in the matter. Losing one son to an unpredictable cosmic journey, but both sons? Beverly was always the hardest on herself and so failure wasn't far from her mind. She had to endure the most difficult challenges while trying to save Jack but the end didn't happen like she expected. Her life had always ended in a heartbreaking manner, losing those she loves and leaving her behind. But instead, Jack was saved, Jean-Luc was saved, the universe was saved… It was a feeling Beverly never had experienced before: relief and gratification.
Tumblr media
Many may think Beverly was wrong in keeping Jack away from Jean-Luc, and many are right. However, when you break down just what Beverly had gone through in her life and just what kind of man Jean-Luc was, it is only a human reaction to fall victim to fear. But it wasn't just fear she had, she had maternal instincts. Like Beverly said:
"As a mother, your whole being is about protecting your child"
She may have done the wrong thing but she did it for the right reasons. As much as we associate Beverly with her fierce determination, dedication, and empathy, we also must showcase the love she has for not only her children but the love of Jean-Luc, her friends, her crew, and her patients. This is what makes Beverly what fans call "The heart of the crew" -- But I want to take it a step further and say she is "The heart of the universe" -- willing to always put herself last, and as a mother, she is willing to sacrifice everything for her children no matter what the consequences that may be. Being a mother has always been Beverly's top priority since the day Wesley was born. It is that protective nature and unconditional love she has for her children that make her such an amazing character. That IS Beverly Crusher.
Beverly may be a flawed character but it is those flaws that fans love about her and understand her the most. We understand her drive, we understand her commitment and we understand that no matter the best intentions, it doesn't always come out the way we want it. Beverly is the fan's character, the most relatable. She has taught us that Love is always the most powerful and most rewarding gift of all.
Happy Mother's Day

The Time Traveller and the Eternal Queen
If Layton and Janice parallel one another, then so do their partners, Claire and Melina.
In the present of their respective stories, Claire and Melina are both ghosts. Memories. Dead women walking.
One died ten years prior to PL3 in an experiment gone wrong. The other died of illness a year before Eternal Diva.
It’s easy to blame Bill Hawks for Claire’s ‘killing’, but what if they hadn’t run the experiment early, behind Dimitri’s back? What if they have worked through those fatal complications? Travelling through time still would have been a dangerous endeavour, regardless, and I think Claire still would have offered to be the test subject.
There’s no one to blame for Melina’s illness, unless you believe the Azran marked her with the same fate as the Ambrosian queen. (It’s me, I believe that because Azran were awful.) I’m sure Whister and Descole did everything they could to cure Melina. Maybe a Golden Garden with its pure air could have helped…
Although Claire appears in the present, her body shows signs of molecular instability. Dimitri— gripped by heartbreak and guilt and pride— struggles to stabilise Claire’s existence, like Whistler and even Janice fight to stabilise Melina’s existence.
In the Eternal Diva novelisation, after Melina’s death, Melina describes waking up in Janice’s body and communicating with Janice. Melina is determined to ‘disappear’ (much like Claire wanted to disappear) but Janice insists she needs to stay.
“I’ve just found you again… Do you realise how much I missed you? I can’t let you go on like this. This isn’t just for you. This is also for me. Melina, you may not understand, but the grief and suffering of those left behind is so strong… Losing my best friend not once, but twice, would surely break my heart…”
Janice’s determination and desperation here reminds me so much of Dimitri!
Melina champions Janice’s self-sacrifice and her noble, pure heart. If you look at Dimitri in another light, his ten long years of dedication to the time travel and saving Claire could be seen as noble and self-sacrificing… kidnapping scientists aside!
Janice voluntarily buries her personality and persuades Melina to stay, so there’s no problem, right…?
I love how Melina enjoys living life through Janice and it takes Melina a while (Maybe a couple of months?) to realise this is wrong, both for her and for Janice. The two of them need to move on, even if it hurts.
It makes Melina feel more flawed and realistic. It makes me wonder if Claire had similar hopes of surviving when she first landed in the present.
Claire and Melinas’ lives were preserved through scientific means that broke the laws of nature— requiring memories— by grieving loved ones, who were manipulated by a mastermind.
Claire begged Dimitri to quit his work on the time machine and to free the kidnapped scientists. Melina wanted her father to stop stealing the lives with the Detragon so that she could survive.
When Claire and Melina felt they alone couldn’t get through to their misguided ‘saviours’, they turned to Hershel Layton.
‘Celeste’, after helping the gang escape from the research facility, confides to Layton that she knows Claire was quite fond of him. Melina, after her identity is revealed, admits that Janice is very fond of the Professor indeed.
Melina, through Janice, wrote to the professor. Although Janice had assured Melina he would be able to help, Melina kept her identity hidden. Maybe Melina feared her father and Descole would find out, which would have made it difficult for her to slip away.
Claire pretended to be ‘Celeste’, her younger sister. This would have spared Layton, Paul and others from more heartbreak…
Unfortunately, when Layton reveals Melina’s identity, this enables Descole to complete his plan. He whisks Melina away on the Detra-Gigant and orders her to sing A Song of the Sea. Melina— hoping to save her father and friends— complies. Layton and Luke, in turn, fly up to save Melina.
There’s nothing wrong with a character needing to be saved, as long as they’re given time to interact with others and actually… be a character, as Melina is. Layton isn’t there insisting Janice stays in the shed while he and Luke investigate the gothic castle. See Level 5 where was this writing for Flora
Luke convinces Layton that he should be the one to leap onto the giant machine to rescue Melina…
Similarly, Claire convinces Layton to let her go back for Clive on the Mobile Fortress, because Clive isn’t the only one to blame.
Both Claire and Melina take an underserved amount of self-recrimination and regret for the grief that their deaths caused others. Even Claire, knowing the risks of time travel, didn’t ask to die. She didn’t ask Dimitri to build another Time Machine, anymore than Melina asked Whistler to use the Detragon.
It’s not fair how Claire and Melina each lost the futures they were looking forward to - it’s not fair how Layton and Janice were left grieving twice - it’s not fair that Bill and Descole got away with their crimes (Redemption or not, how many of those kidnapped people needed therapy?) - but fate isn’t fair.
At the very least, Claire and Melina live on through everyone’s memories. The time traveller and the eternal diva, immortalised.

Keeping up with my series, and do not worry, I have plans on making a master post with all of the Mercs and a summary of how each team operates as a sort of reflection of Redmon and Blutarch feel and treat their staff.
Anyway, onto the post, story is under read more and warning, this is all being written on mobile
Also, some information might not aligned with the ones presented on the drawing above.
Mr Ludwig, first name unknown, was born in Germany and raised by a brilliant Scientist named Ada and a shy but hard working field doctor name Alice.
The two women fell in love after Ada had a accident in her lab and was greeted by a kind and beautiful woman who nursed her back to health...without a license.
Alice had gone through med school despite how against it her family was but she did not care, she went to med school and graduated but once back home, her family kicked her out and she wasn't able to get a license, but in her heart, she believed that medicine should be for everyone, even if you cannot afford it.
Ada was so touched with the story that she offered to let her use her own laboratory as a facility to house and treat her patients, and in return, those who she treated would have their DNA samples given to her, blood, organs, bones, anything, as unlike Alice, Ada had a right to perform her experiments, she was trying to create life, but needed the right materials, this was all so she could create her own child without the need of a father, as she had no interest in them and in her eyes, they were only useful when she dissected them for materials for her experiments when In life, all they ever done was question her intelligence.
And so the Two worked together, Alice would sometimes comment that perhaps she could extract just the sperm cells of some of her subjects, but Ada said no, that it felt easy to simply get pregnant, she wanted a challenge, show mother nature what she could do with the pieces she had. And Ada would ask her how come the hospitals would not accept her, she was not only doing a good job for the community but without charging a nickel, Alice repeated that she believed Medicine should be for everyone, and sadly her family was one of power, so any hospital would get the risk of being shut down if they took her in, no matter how good at her job she was.
One time while Ada was looking over at blood samples, Alice accidentally cut herself, and in a act of impulse, Ada asked Alice for a blood sample from her, surprisingly, she agreed. As she looked over the sample, Ada Screamed Eureka and Ran to Alice and called her a angel from above, only to lock herself in her lab for days, Alice had no idea what she had done, but she argued that the scientist was the Saint, letting her using a facility that was basically her home with the threat of being put in jail and not having the child she wished to? She was putting a lot on the line for a stranger.
The days were over and Ada called Alice to her lab, and there, inside a glowing glass container was a embryo, she looked over the monitors and saw that it was in stable condition, the two women hugged but Alice had to ask who's blood she took, and Ada responded that her blood was the answer, she was trying to get a good sample that had AB type in it, as the other types aside from Ada's were not stable enough, and that played a bigger part than she expected, the organs weren't the problem, blood was, and thankfully, with Alice's help, she managed to make a stable embryo.
As the months went by and the embryo developed, Ada would sometimes see Alice checking the vitals, putting in the formula she helped Ada make for the future baby, and even buying a stuffed animal and blanket, even if it did not need it, Alice felt like giving those to them.
As time passed, Alice and Ada grew closer from simply best friends, and it all started when Alice said hello to the 4 month old Embryo saying
"hi there little one! I'm your other mommy" and Ada just stood there and asked
"You want to be that for him?"
She found it adorable when Alice kept saying sorry but Ada was not offended in the slightest, in fact, if she could ask anyone to be the other parent of her child, it would be Alice, and so the Two started dating.
However, disaster struck when police found the lab facility, Ada and Alice ran away with the baby still in the capsule, ready to be born. They traveled far until they reached the empty wagon of a train, where Ludwig was born. The conductor did not apprehended the two women once the train stopped, as he believed that Ada had just given birth and Alice was her best friend who ran away with her to help, instead he called a cab for them to go find a hotel and stay there for a while.
The years went by and Ludwig grew up to be a fine and respectable young man in his neighborhood, however he had one quirk that he shared with his mother Ada, a fascination for human anatomy and biology.
It started small, although it could be seen as a big step, Ludwig would go to the nurse's office and ask questions about how to treat injuries, the nurse thought it was okay and even decided to take him in as a assistant so he could learn, however she regretted as soon as Ludwig was left alone with his first "patient", when she was back, she screamed in horror as the boy was about to saw the arm of the other boy who was crying.
Once he was suspended, his moms grounded him but Alice could not deny that she saw potential in him, Ada did the Same, but not on his wants of treating humans, but the desire to experiment
Alice taught him about medicine and it's importance to the community, that at that time, free health care wasn't available yet, and Ludwig kept that code of never letting a patient die, EVER.
As for Ada, she introduced her son to her line of work, even showing him how he came to be, the blueprints for various machines as well as various chemicals with odd properties.
As time went by, Ludwig enlisted himself in world War 2, as a field doctor like Alice, who had sadly passed away by the time he was at the battle field, the news bring delivered via a letter sent by his mother Ada.
The man was distraught and in so much pain due to grief and guilt for not being present to mourn with his mother, that he did not notice that his base was under attack, and shot right in the head.
In his short time in the heavens, he met his mother (is canon in the TF2 universe, no joke) once more, he told her that as much as he wanted to stay, he wanted to keep helping the men in the battlefield, but he knew he couldn't just go back, so Alice confided in him a secret, a passage that went from heaven to hell, and the Devil would probably want something in return, she said it was the only option, he took it and hugged her while saying goodbye, hoping he would get to see her once more, one way or another.
The Medic walked down the Golden stairs that soon turned into silver, then bronze, then coper, and finally obsidian. He found the Devil rather quickly and decided to strike a deal, bring him back to earth, and in return, he could take the soul on each soldier he operated, the Devil was pleased, so much so that he took the doctor out for dinner. It felt like years passed there, but when Ludwig was finally brought back after a messy break up, the war was still going on.
The soldiers were frightened when he simply spat out the bullet that was lodged in his head, sat up and got out of the morgue and put back his uniform to act fast in the fields.
However, something was different about Ludwig, maybe it was his psyche from being in the Underworld for what felt like a year without seeing his mother, or perhaps he now saw himself as a God because of the same reason and the fact that he was back from the dead, or both, but he had become unhinged, he would request various organs to ensure the survival of the soldiers, some not even belonging to humans, and the soldiers would come back stronger...and unstable.
The Medic was kicked out near the end of the war, when he took out the skeleton of a perfectly healthy patient for the sake of experiment. He got back home and was happy to see his mother Ada, she even commented that he looked younger somehow, but he couldn't tell her that he got the Devil's touch.
Once Ada Passed and was buried next to Ada, Ludwig decided to move to New York, his small town felt too peaceful, he wanted a challenge, so he took the first boat he saw that would take that route and arrived in the city that never sleeps, and in the pier, he saw a individual that looked quite lost , his name was Misha.
The man that would become the Heavy had arrived in America to look for work to help his family, but he had never been to the city before and his English wasn't that understandable to the locals, but Ludwig managed to understand the man well enough to offer directions, they were staying in the same hotel in fact, and from there, they went from strangers to friends, to best friends, to lovers...but it did not last, as Heavy feared for the Doctor's life, some men he recognized from when he and his family ran from their home were now walking around the city, he wasn't sure that they were looking for him specifically, but he could not risk it, so he bid goodbye to the Doctor, who instead said "this doesn't feel like a goodbye...this feels like a see you later", as both had hopes to see one another again and about 3 years later, Redmon from Mann.Co hired both of them for the RED Team, and Ludwig and Misha were full of joy upon seeing each other.
They caught up in any news in their lives, they learned to work together as a team, and re-learned to work together as a couple, and by the end of the first year, Ludwig proposed, and Misha accepted, of course, in their contracts that just meant they had access to each other's contracts and other benefits, but they did not care.
Some time passed, and the Medic had a desperate experience, most of his team was either injured or dying as the BLU Team invaded the abandoned hospital they were taking as refuge, and during the despair, Ludwig discovered a new element, a mixture of blood, Jarate, and a Sandvich.
The element in question was one he recognized from his stay in Hell, a liquid that would keep sinners alive as they went through lethal acts of torture. On earth, it was formed of 1 Atom of Gallium, and 2 of Oxygen, he called it GOO.
He the proceeded to design a new model for his Medigun, and with the help of the engineer, not only was the new and improved Medigun was built, but also various other gadgets that would be later used in various adventures the RED and BLU team would encounter.
Ludwig made quite a lot of money after selling the rights and the composition of the formula to Mann.CO, which led to the mass production of Medkits, he gets paid a lot and is the main reason the RED team arguably has a more comfortable life compared to the BLU Team.

Thinking about Flowey.
Thinking about how he lived and died through something horrifically traumatizing at an insanely young age. Thinking about how he wakes up one day years later-- long enough later that several if not all of the fallen children fell and died, and Alphys became the royal scientist and started her experiments. He wakes up and finds that he is no longer a monster, but a flower in his father's flowerbed, and he cries. He cries and cries as long as he can, calling for his mom and dad until eventually, his dad finds him. He finds him and he holds him, crying for his son, promising that everything will be alright. Flowey can see how emotional his dad is, and he realizes that he feels nothing. He should feel something, right? But it's just nothing, blank, numb. Then he finds out that his best friend is dead, that it's been years or even decades since they died, and his parents had been divorced that whole time. He should be sad, he should be angry, he should be anything, but still nothing. He stays with his dad for a while, hoping that with time it will all come back, but it never does. Eventually, it becomes too much for him, and he decides to find the one person who should be able to help-- his mom. He leaves and finds his mom, isolated in the ruins where he grew up. He explains everything to her, and she probably holds him and cries for him too, just like his dad did, and he tries again to feel something. He fails again. He eventually decides it's not worth it and leaves her too, he doesn't want to live in a world where he can't love her anymore. He decides to end it, but as he dies, he realizes he doesn't want to. He realizes he wants to live, and that he's too scared to die.
Then he wakes up again, in his father's flowerbed once more, weeks or months earlier. Once he figures out that he can't die, he starts doing everything he can, experimenting with the world, until he drives himself crazy. He resets over and over again, and when he gets bored enough, he resorts to killing-- not because he wants to, of course, he just has to know what happens.
Then I think about Asgore and Toriel.
I think about Asgore finding his son in his garden, only he isn't his son anymore-- he's a flower-- but he's his son nonetheless. He is overjoyed to have his son back, but he can't help but wish his wife were there to experience it with him. Over time, he notices how distant his son is growing, but he hopes it will go away with time-- that he is just getting used to the way his world is now. One day, though, without warning, he disappears, leaving Asgore alone once again.
Then Toriel finds her son in the bed of golden flowers where he found Chara, only he's now a golden flower too-- but he's her son nonetheless. She takes him in, overjoyed to have him back, to tell him all of the things she's learned over the years, to have a permanent new mouth to feed who wouldn't leave her to die. She notices him growing distant, and she worries, but she doesn't push-- hoping he'll open up when he's ready.
Then he disappears again.
Asgore and Toriel lost so much over the years, and now they must mourn their son again.
Then one day, they wake up, weeks or months earlier. The time spent with their son is gone-- it is just a weird, distant, bittersweet dream that they will forget as their morning goes on. A dream that will forever leave a hole in their hearts-- a hole they will never be able to fill.
I wonder if Flowey felt something when he killed his mother. I wonder if somewhere, deep down, something broke every time he saw her die. I wonder if, even soulless, he cried for her.

I was sleepy, until I read "Jake biological father of Spider" my little love Spider, so much that he has suffered. The reaction of the entire Sully family is necessary.
Jake he would have a heart attack, and maybe remembering in second he realizes that Spider looks like one of his parents, (Jake's). Max would be the one to tell Spider and she would run away. It would be too much for him.
Neytiri would go wild. 💀
Tuk and Lo ak always wanted Spider. 🌟
Kiri has always called Spider his person and now he knows that they ARE brothers. 💖
Neteyam, if he is alive, Since I am also an older sister, I understand that we are the experiment, who is asked for perfection, to be a better copy of our parents, the caregivers of our siblings even when we are children. So I imagine that when they were children they were very close even more than Kiri and Spider. But wanting to be pleasing to his parents, seeing how Jake doesn't pay too much attention to him and Neytiri's obvious hatred, he began to distance himself and they went from being brothers, to strangers who talk from time to time.and to discover that they are really brothers, would be to open a box of good, bad and horrible memories.
And now he is missing.
No one can take it from my head that Spider spent nights in Pandora alone since he was little. And he only survived because Eywa took care of him. But still I go hungry, pain and fear.
I am realizing that we are masochists we like to suffer and cry.
We really want to suffer and cry dear anon, we really do. And poor Spider is always the one suffering the most.
I explored a bit what I thought how would Jake and Neytiri react here
Lo’ak is overjoyed, his best friend and brother in spirit is actually his brother. He wouldn’t really feel as much as an outsider anymore, Spider is as much as a troublemaker as him and with him being officially part of the family he feels like he fully belongs.
Kiri is happy for Spider, she doesn’t feel any different than before, in her heart she always believed them to be tied in a way or another. She asks Jake for the name of Spider’s mom and asks the scientists to find her video logs. After they find them both Kiri and Spider spend hours watching them, and she keeps pointing out their resemblances, the color of his hair, the shape of his eyes and so on.
Tuk is, as described in the official book as a happy little pixie and her reaction is very positive! Being a little kid I can see her asking questions Jake hoped would be dealt in a different way, like what was Spider’s mom like? She’s a curious girl asking if Spider looks more like her or his human self. Neytiri is upset, hates the idea of this woman because it means that while Jake was with her he was also with the other woman in a way or another.
Neteyam (if he survived) would still act the same way towards Spider, I see him as being the closest to Neytiri and he feels also kinda betrayed by his father, why didn’t he ever mention this woman when talking about his old life? He told them about his dead brother, how he took his place but failed to mention he had someone on base that he got pregnant? One time he gets curious and goes investigate Spider’s mom and he’s furious, how could his dad not see the resemblance. He would start to resent Jake for always asking perfection and constantly reminding him to be responsible when he himself wasn’t any of those things, the image of his father is forever branded as an hypocrite.
After Spider runs away Jake doesn’t know how to feel, he is his kid but he’s also the reminder of how abusive he was. He wants to find him to make things right, to make the guilt of letting a kid wonder alone at night in a dangerous forest go away. He keeps remembering all his faults, from sending him away during meal times, to the harsh ways he would reprimand him even when it wasn’t his fault.
Kiri, Lo’ak and Tuk are distraught, asking themselves why would he leave them. Didn’t they showed him how much they loved him? How much they were happy to officially have him as their brother?
Neytiri and Neteyam are almost relived, maybe it’s a chance to fix things and make them go back into the old equilibrium. Or even make it better.

Notes- Dan Feng & Scientist (Prequel to Reason)
Return to File
Recovery date: April 22nd, 2024
Description: Hello I'm the one who requested the story where the reader is Dan Feng's child and I really liked it, I'm not exactly asking for a part two but rather a prequel exploring the relationship of Dan Feng and the reader's mother before the reader was born, of that's alright with you that is.
Notes: Recovered in conjunction with an anonymous researcher, we thank them for their contributions. I hope you don't mind this being in headcanon format, it was the easiest way for me to write this.
Back to directory
Tumblr media
Reader's mother was a scientist who was best friends with a Vidyadhara/human couple
She was friends with Yingxing who introduced her to Dan Feng
She brought it up completely off handedly while doing theoretical research on it and Dan Feng was like “let me know of I can help”
Seriously, Dan Feng was willing to bring Baiheng back to life, he would definitely help a researcher try and give biological children to Vidyadhara
To ensure the fewest repercussions from their work, the child is mostly human (using the scientists DNA) with select sections of Vidyadhara DNA (Dan Feng)
Essentially they made sure the child would have a mortal life span and wouldn't inherit any of Dan Feng's abilities, but that when applied to couples the child would be no different from a naturally conceived offspring
I think their relationship was very friendly, the scientist definitely became close with all of the High Cloud Quintet
Dan Feng could have just received regular updates, but he tried to be as involved as possible
He would visit the lab with lunch and have the scientist explain what was going on, he was super excited when the fetus started to develop from the initial cluster of cells
If you’ve ever see the episode from “Bones” where Brennan asks Booth to father a child for her, that’s basically these two but without the romantic feelings
I imagine the scientist at some point the scientist got married and Dan Feng would attend
When reader’s mother dies, Dan Feng organizes her funeral according to her wishes
The scientist dies kind of young in the same event that killed Baiheng, the war against Shuhu, so Dan Feng tried to both bring her back so she could finish her work and bring Baiheng back
I mentioned in the fic that the hybrids development is super slow, Dan Feng is the only reason the project wasn’t terminated after the scientists death
The scientist sets up automatons to run everything, in case of her untimely demise, and Dan Feng just has to keep an eye on everything because at this point it really is just a waiting game
Then he gets executed and Jing Yuan keeps the project going both because he believes in the idea, and to honor his two friends
The child finishes gestating, as indicated by predicted vital signs and brain activity, around the same time Dan Heng is born (aka Dan Feng is reincarnated)
Obviously this experiment doesn't produce a viable way for Vidayadhara's to have children, the gestation time for the child is too long, and maybe there's ways to make it viable but no one's allowed to look into it for the same reason searching for immortality is banned

(Link to site if anyone wants to use it) It's my first time using picrew. I used it to make my Ultraman OCs, This it kind of what I'd picture them looking like, not rock solid but close enough, I really got to get around drawing them myself…]
Starting from the top: we got the Morimoto twins: Nayaka (left) and Mile (Right) their ages are equivalent to a young adult in their early to mid 20s.
Nayaka and Mile are two genetically modified clones of two ultramen that were created on Earth as Anti-Kaiju weapons before being rescued by Anne Yuri and the Ultra Guard. Nayaka's genetic donor is Zoffy and Mile's donor is Leo. Of course neither Zoffy or Leo knew about their existence until recently.
Second row: We got Akari Yuri (left)the teenage daughter of Anne Yuri and Dan Moroboshi (Ultraseven) her age is 54 but but due to her being half alien she ages very slowly so physically she looks around 15 years old.
When she was around 6 Anne passed away; no one knew who her father was since Anne kept it a well guarded secret.
Akari was put into the foster system until they found out she was an alien or at least half-alien, when they noticed she wasn't aging like a normal human would; And Akari was quickly transferred to the Alien Refugee District, She grew up in the slum's orphanage where she was often bullied and ostracized by the other kids and staff due to her human appearance. The scar on her face is from fighting with the older kids at the orphanage before running away at 13.
Next to her we got Z's childhood friend Nieve(Right). She's around 5,000 years old. and is a Cyexian-Ultra hybrid but takes heavily after her Cyexian mother. Nieve is Ultraman Hikari's niece and is an amputee she lost her left arm in an accident.
She currently works as a lab assistant for her uncle Hikari.
(My oc aliens: Cyexians are species of of humanoid aliens who are renowned for being for being some of the best scientists and doctors in the galaxy.)
Final row: We got the aunt & niece duo: Shio (Right) and Reiya (left) in their human forms. Shio and Reiya are from almost extinct race of aliens known as the Zodlestials, whose planet was destroyed when their sun exploded leaving the two of them the last survivors they are… or rather were part of the royal family before the planet's destruction.
Shio's age is around 4,798 which is the equivalent to a young human in their mid-teens. While her aunt Reiya's age is equivalent to an adult human in their 30s.
Reiya was a scientist on her planet and briefly worked with Tregear for a solution in slowing down her Sun's expansion years before his descent into darkness. Reiya's alien form is based of the zodiac sign Scorpio.
The scars on Shio's body are from her aunt using her as a guinea-pig for her experiments before she managed to escape. Shio's alien form is based off of the Ophiuchus and Serpens constellations and her Kaiju form is based off of Jörmungandr.
[Another oc species: Zodlestials (I based them off of the constellations and zodiac signs) they were an introverted people who were wary of all outsiders but reluctantly they sought outside counsel when they noticed that their sun was rapidly expanding without explanation; threatening to wipe out all life on the planet.]

I have risen again and want to show my work during my absence. There aren't many of them, but I really try my best…
So! New residents of Saforex!Tale have appeared :D Time to tell you a little about them :)
Papyrus: A scientist of the king, one of the main and close ones among science, which is illegal if you are not registered with the king and do not benefit the entire dungeon. He is also a cinnamon bun, and he has also been nicknamed “Northern Bear”. He is not as naive as he might seem, but still he was not so attentive to some individuals and, for good reason, considers them rather good-natured monsters (including the king, who is a rather harsh person, often committing some bad deeds from his own motives of their own benefit). He learned a lot from his father and his older brother Sans, although he had previously wanted to become a guardsman, no worse than his brother, but the dream had long been unfulfilled, because the monster’s body could not withstand such a load of mana during the experiments, which can now cause severe waste lead to death. Paps wanted to be useful, which is why he did not lose heart and began to fully study books on science.
Saforex Alphys is in many ways similar to its base, but! Unlike the base, she is more timid, she cannot play the role of some kind of cool person, she is afraid of many, but there is nothing to condemn her for, chaos reigns around her Alphys went through a lot during this period, which greatly affected her morale, but even so she has an outlet in science and anime! When she is close to the monsters dear to her or even alone, she immediately comes to life and becomes even more active, which is unrecognizable. In my world, she is more confined to herself precisely for the reason that she is only an assistant to the main scientist of the kingdom, because… Papyrus became the basis. Their relationship was not always good, but now she completely trusts him, and he trusts her, from which she opens up to him completely, trying to captivate him in the anime. She is very glad that Paps has become her friend, after all, initially, given Sans and Gaster, she expected everything but good… But Papyrus, to her surprise, turned out to be God’s dandelion and is now devoted to him like no one else, partly remembers in him a piece of that same kind Gaster, she was too attached to him, and now his place has been taken by his own son.. Paps also treats Alphys very well and even in a family way.
Muffet. In Saforex, she owns a large number of outlets for selling her confectionery products due to the same wider distribution of residential locations. Muffet is one of the oldest monsters in the dungeon and is something of a keeper of history, essentially because of this she knows every monster in the dungeon living in the present time of the story. Therefore, in many ways, she also dislikes people, she is angry with them for their imprisonment, but she is still more attentive to her principles, which means that a person, being her client, has safety on her territory. The spider loves to chat with guests, listen to new rumors and stories. Spiders - her eyes are all over the dungeon, telepathically communicating with her babies, she can know the location of everyone and therefore often watches a person, during the course of the story there are often cobwebs and little scoundrels that are considered sacred in the dungeon, from which the inhabitants cannot even lay a finger those, usually leaving them a place in the attic or basement
