Neteyam x dead Reader Part 4
Tumblr media
Warnings: heavy mentions of death, shit ton of crying, sadness, corpses, mentions of wounds, blood, mentions of knives, Kiri and Jake bonding,
Summary: After Neteyam passed, his family doesn’t know what to do without him.
Note: sorry this is longer than the other chapters guys, I literally couldn’t help myself. The reason I added the Jake and Kiri thing in the middle was because I noticed in ATWOW Jake was always the one who was “strong” and never cried. So he obviously had a reason for that, so I just wanted to show their relationship in this chapter. I really hope you guys like it!
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
There he laid, his stiff body in his own mothers hands. Her wails filling the tree of souls, her yell’s flooding her surroundings. Her own son was gone, dead in seconds. Tears came down like a waterfall, like a river flowing through the forest. They never stopped, not for a second. The salty liquid coming to trickle from her eyes down to her mouth as it layed agape, while she weeped for her son. The boy she loved before he even came out of the womb, the boy she played with for hours. The young man she had raised for years, her own blood was in him.
A part of her family was gone, and it was by his own accord. By his own will, his own hands. Why? Why would Eywa let this happen? Why did it come so sudden? She blamed herself, she shouldn’t have let him get so low in life. She was at fault for this, she was his mother. Her job was to nurture and care for her children, but she couldn’t even do that. She couldn’t do the one job she was assigned as a mother. Her eyes kept switching from the wound her son made, to his pale face. His handsome face that was once smiling and laughing was now gone, with only a frail corpse being left behind.
She should’ve gotten there sooner, but no she took her sweet time. Now her son was gone, he was with Ewya now. He was with his true love, you. You were the cause of this horrible act. But it wasn’t your fault, you pleaded him not to. But he never listened, too caught up in his own sorrow to think of the bigger picture for once. The blood trickled down his cold chest, his soulless frame. The red ivory covering his mothers hands, her soft hands now painted with death. She needed him back, she was supposed to see him grow up. See him become a true man and build a family, but now that reality was just a delusion. She watched as his chest stayed still with no breath coming out. She stared into him, waiting for him to wake up. Waiting for him to come back and for this to just be some bad nightmare. She pleaded to a dead body to come back to be with her for even just one more minute. Just so she could say goodbye to him, for one more moment with her eldest son.
Hours went by as she sat there with him, sitting with a boy who was no longer there. Her cries slowly stopped, instead she just sat there. Not moving, just breathing alone. Admiring her son she held back the tears, she needed to get help. She needed to tell someone, someone who could help her. Mustering up the courage, she picked his up dying corpse and over her shoulder. As she began to walk, her cries started again, her sorrow never ending as she walked down the trail to the village.
“Help, please help!” She screamed, as she collapsed on the ground. Her sounds drawing attention to form a crowd, she was quickly comforted as she heaved in exhaustion from her journey. “Neytiri!” Her mate yelled, running to see what was wrong. To his surprise he found his wife screeching in agony as her son laid lifeless in front of her. Looking at the scene in front of him, realization engulfed his being as his eyes laid onto the knife jabbed into his sons chest. Coming to comfort Neytiri he darted around the crowd and to his wailing mate. Holding her in his arms, he angled her to his chest so she wouldn’t have to see her dead son. His eyes were set on Neteyam as he moved his hands up and down Neytiri’s back.
What had he done so wrong as a father for this to happen? This wasn’t happening, this wasn’t reality. It was too much to bear, too much for his strong heart to take. What were the kids going to think? Their own brother committed suicide, the Na’vi didn’t even have a word for that. It never happened, it wasn’t Ewya’s plan, the great mothers plan couldn’t be this. His thoughts consumed him as he sat there with his mate.
“No- please no” Jake mumbled, a tear daring to fall from his eyes. Quickly wiping it away, he had to stay strong for his mate and more importantly his people. The crowd was mumbling who knows what, scrambled sorrows and wails across the group as they watched their Tsihak and Olo'eyktan cope with the death of their son.
“Baby- baby” he spoke, bringing her face to meet his. “We have to stay strong, remember?” He asked, staring into his wife’s orbs that seemed to have been drowned of life. “Strong heart” he added, and he was right. His people were watching, they needed someone to guide them. They needed their Olo'eyktan and Tsihak to stay strong. Her mouth turning into a frown as she tried to hold in her tears and wails. Taking a deep breathe she nodded, Jake holding her hand as he helped her to his feet. Her legs were weak, she had walked so far with not just her own body but with another on her back. She wobbled underneath him, but soon she found her balance as she stood up.
Jake let go of his wife as she found her way out of the crowd, leaving him with Neteyam. His eldest son dead, his son who was going to be the next Olo'eyktan, the leader of his people. Standing over his sons body, he bent down to hold him in his arms. Making his way through the crowd, all eyes were on him as his legs guided him. His face was tired, it was pale, drained of any happiness that he had beforehand, his smile turning to a frown as his lips pierced together.
Neytiri called for her children, scared they would have to see their brothers dead body. But sadly she wasn’t mistaken, Tuk had been in the crowd with Kiri by her side. Kiri who had run with Tuk to see what all the commotion was, had turned teary eyed. Covering Tuks eyes she led her away and into their hut. Tuk crying in Kiris arms, sitting in their hut alone with only eachother. Kiri sat there feeling alone, even though Tuk was in her grasp. She felt numb, dead almost, lifeless like her brother. Her body was heavy, her eyelids turned murky just like every other limb attached to her body. This wasn’t happening, her brother couldn’t have done such a horrible thing. She knew he was struggling, by why didn’t he just talk about it to her. She would’ve listened, she would’ve held onto him tight, telling him how much she loves him. Tears ran down her face, her features staying the same as she cried. She was a statue, with a waterfall pouring out of her eyes.
“I- is he really gone Kiri?” Tuk cried, latching onto her sisters knot holding up her loincloth. “I- I think so Tuk” she confessed, did she even believe her own words? Was it really true? She couldn’t imagine a world without him, he was always with her. They were the ones who took care of Lo’ak and Tuk when it was just them. They were the protectors of the family, the duo, now it was just her. A one man show from now on. She held onto Tuk as her thoughts raced through her broken mind. “Kiri, Tuk?” Neytiri spoke, rushing into their hut. She was too late, their eyes had been shown the bloody scene already. The bloodbath her son had made, the agony he put his family through. “Mom?” Tuk asked, looking up at her mother.
“Oh Tuk” she sighed, opening her arms up. Tuk rushed into them, leaving Kiri bare. That’s what she felt, bare, naked with no one to hold onto. “I am so sorry” Neytiri cried, as if she was the one at fault for this. Her happiness had faded, her children’s laughs and giggles seemed like a reality she could never grasp again. Kiri sat there, her eyelids half open, letting the tears come and go as they pleased. “Kiri?” noticing her daughters strange position. “Hm?” She spoke, turning her gaze to her weeping mother. “Where is Lo’ak?” She asked, worried for her youngest son. What if he had already seen his brother, and had left, too frightened to see one more second of this agony. Kiris head hung low, trying to figure out where he was. But she came up with nothing, no location of where he might be. So she sat there, her silence was the only answer she could muster up, her unknowningness was her last resort. She couldn’t comprehend what was being said to her, and she didn’t need to. She just needed to sit there for as long as she needed to, as long as Ewya would let her.
Walking into their hut, Jake was met with sorrow and tears. His head hung low, passing by Kiri and Tuk. Laying his son’s body on the mat in front of everyone to see. He sat on the edge, just watching, waiting for something to happen. For someone to save him from this hell, something that could take him away. His breathe was hitched and heavy, trying his best to be the strong man his family saw him as. But why? Why couldn’t he let himself feel it, feel the sorrow that inflamed him. He needed to mourn his dead son, he needed someone to tell him it was ok to cry, that he didn’t need to be strong anymore. A sign that told him he could let go and bathe in his sorrows. Kiri watched her father fight with himself, and for what? She’d never seen her father cry, never seen him mourn anything. She noticed how he was always the strong one in the family, the one who could uplift everyone, but was never uplifted by anyone else. She could tell he needed someone, he needed that sign to come soon.
So she decided she would be that sign, she could finally help her father, finally give back everything he’s given to her, she could repay her debt she owed as a daughter. Coming over to sit next to him, she patted him on the back as she joined in watching her brothers body. “It is ok to not be strong” she let out, her gaze never leaving Neteyam. Was she trying to comfort him? That wasn’t how it was supposed to go, she was the child and he was the father, he had to comfort her that was his job. But what was this feeling that grew in his heart? He felt seen, and she saw him for what he was, he was a mourning father who needed an outlet. He was tired of the facade he put up for everyone to see. “I see you Dad” she said, looking up at her father. She brought her hand down to intertwine with her fathers. He smiled at the gesture, a tear coming out. His tears falling one by one in a never ending cycle. He held onto Kiris hand, grasping tightly, scared to be vulnerable in front of his own daughter.
Lo’ak walked through the village, noticing how everyone was giving him weird looks and stares, he couldn’t help but wonder. He knew he was the screw up of the family, but not that much of one. Growing closer to his hut, he picked up the wails of his family. Quickly rushing in he stood there, his eyes widening at his brothers body on the mat, with a knife plunged into his heart. “Mom- what happened” he asked, fighting back tears that fought to come out. “Who did this?” He asked, his voice turning into a huff. Whoever did this was going to feel the wrath of him, he swore it. He ran to his brothers side, mumbling words only him and Ewya would know. A tear dropped onto his brothers frigid body, then another, and another. Till a puddle was created. Lo’ak’s eyes screwed shut trying his best not to let his tears rain down too much. He prayed and prayed for Ewya to bring him back, for relief of some sort. His brother was the only one he could talk to, the only one on this planet that saw him for who he really was. The only one who never judged him for who he was, now who was going to take his place?

Rude (Kiri Version)
Pairing- Kiri x reader
Summary- You try to win over your beloveds father who would rather her date someone else.
Warnings- kissing, fluff that it basically
Tumblr media
You jump out of bed with a huge smile on your face. Today was the day you were going to ask your beloved, Kiri Sully's father, for permission to be her mate. Some would say it was too traditional but it was the way. You grabbed a necklace that had all kinds of weird colorful rocks that you just knew Kiri would love. You waved your mother and father goodbye as you skipped over to the Sully's so happy.
It was a quiet peaceful morning and it seemed Jake and Kiri were the only ones awake as they sat outside talking. You cough a little and they stand up. Kiri smiled sheepishly at you as you bowed your head. Jake looked at the scene in front of him and squinted his eyes at you. "Here for you." You say handing Kiri the necklace. She touched the rocks as she unclasped the back and put it in and her cheeks deepened in color. "Thank you." She said and you only smiled harder. The cute scene was cut short as Jake spoke.
"Is there any particular reason you've come today?" Your back straightens and you turn to him and give him a hopeful smile. "Yes Mr. JakeSully I would like to know if I have your blessing to be Kiri's mate." You say and Kiri had a look of astonishment on her face. She's been talking about you to her family non-stop.
Jake had a stoic look on his face before he spoke. "No you do not have my blessing and you will never have it."
"Dad!" Kiri spoke trying to go to you but he just pushed her inside covering the curtain that acted like a door.
Your face fell, no. You walk and it seemed your friends Ao'nung, Tsireya, and Rotxo had watched the whole thing unfold. "Oh my Eywa well not everything goes as planned but you've got hundreds of Metkayina girls and guys-"
"I'm not going to give up, Kiri is my love, my light, she completes me and I'll do everything in my power to win over JakeSully." You proclaim to your friends. Tsireya giggled as she clapped her hands together and Ao'nung and Rotxo only shook their heads. "How when he literally said he would never give you his blessing-" Rotxo was cut off by you. "Shut it. I already have a plan.
It was true you had cultivated a plan. First you would show him your strength and ability to take care of his daughter, then if that doesn't work you don't really have a back up plan but it's okay.
"Wait so you don't have a back up plan?" Ao'nung butts into your internal monologue. You roll your eyes as you put your spear down into the water slightly . "Yes– well no but I'm sure when I catch the Dinicthoid I'm sure that he will see I am strong enough to kill this vicious beast. I can protect his daughter, and then I will have his blessing, I hope." You say whispering this last part. "And what am I here to do?" He asked. "To make sure I do not die." You smile before something comes out of the water you yell before clutching your spear. It circled around you and you circled around it. You made your move through the spear into its side; it pierced the side of the creature and blood flooded the water. You stepped closer to the beast as I bled out, it flipped in the water, removing the spear it stopped moving only twitching at times. You whispered a prayer to Eywa before killing the beast off clean.
"See, I told you could do it." You laugh as Ao'nung chuckles, helping you put the dinicthoid onto your ilu.
You caught dinner and there would be a celebration. Two of the youngest warriors caught one of the most dangerous and prized prey. And there you would hope to get Jake's blessing.
The cooks prepared the dinicthoid perfectly and it spread around that you caught it and Kiri smiled before leaning against her father. "See, they are very brave and strong." She whispered to her father as he drank from his cup. "More like stupid they could have died and for what." He scoffed before taking a bite of his dinner.
And there you sat ignoring your food and admired Kiri, it was like she got more beautiful everyday. Her dark blue skin illuminating in the nightlight of Pandora, and her capturing smile that lit up the whole room, was so perfect.
Kiri waved toward you and you did the same before giggling. Jake stood up walking towards you and your smile fell as did her's. "H-hi Mr. Sully." You say and he just glares. "I need to talk to you." He said before walking away and to the beach. You scrambled yourself up and ran after him looking at Kiri who had bug eyes and a terrified look on her face.
Jake stood there in front of the waves as did you. It was silent and your eyes fell.
"I do love her." You say.
He looks at you confused. "What?" He asked and you looked at him with a gentle smile on your face and tears in your eyes.
"I love her. More than anything in the world. I would shout it from the top of the world if I could. If she wanted me to leave and never come back I would, if she wanted me to never talk again I would, I am utterly and completely in love with your daughter. She is my heart, she is what makes me feel alive, she fires my soul. And it may be stupid to be this in love but call me stupid I love her so much it hurts." You confess to the man who denied his blessing.
His expression was of disbelief, shocked most of all. "Really?" You hear a voice that makes your face light up, Kiri.
You both turn to her and your cheeks darken had she heard all of it? You shake your head shyly and she runs up to you as you did, wrapping you into a tight hug. "I see you." She whispers into your ear and your ears perked up and your eyes widened love-blown pupils. "And I see you." You whisper back.
Jake stood there in utter disbelief, his baby girl was finally a grown up and found love. He choked back the tears that threatened to fall as he walked back to the party.
As he walked back you brought Kiri closer, tucking a stray hair behind her ear before giving her a small kiss. Pulling away as soon as she tries to deepen the kiss, you giggle at her eagerness as she laughs as well.
From afar Jake and Neytiri met at the edge of the party watching you hug each other. "She's all grown up." Jake said to Neytiri who only smiled. "It is a good thing Ma' Jake" She whispered as she pulled him back into the party. Leaving you two dumb and in love.

Kiri and Spider are two sides of the same coin. They balance the narrative. A child born from the light and the other from the dark. Jake loves them both but because Spider is the villains son his arc is much more difficult. He has to atone for sins that aren't his.

"You know what?! Get out of my house Y/N!"
You and your mom were thick as thieves, the two of you always had a good and close relationship. Both of you would always hunt together or make new woven mats while discussing the latest gossip in the clan.
You felt like no one could ever sever the strong bond both of you had until He came.
Your mother has been dating her boyfriend, Niptu for almost six months, and ever since he stepped into her life your mother's attitude changed towards you. She used to be loving but now she barely pays you any attention. Both of you use to carve time out of the day to spend some quality time together but now all her time and energy is consumed with her new relationship.
The strong bond both of you once shared began to weaken and as of this moment it was officially broken.
Your mother expressed to you how Niptu was going to move into your marui and you were against it. You never liked him because he was always mean or rude towards you. He always made it seem like you were in the way of his and your mother's relationship.
You have voiced your opinions about him to your mother plenty of times but she just brushed your words off, she didn't believe a word you said about Niptu.
"You're kicking me out?!" You shouted while the feeling of anger began to stir with you. You knew your mother did crazy and outrageous things but this... this was the icing on the cake.
"Yes, I am! You can't respect me and you keep talking nonsense about Niptu! He is a good tutan and if you can't see that or agree with him moving in you will be moving out!" She yelled as she begin to shove your things in a woven basket.
"You would kick out your own child for some tutan you haven't even been dating a year?! H-How could you do this?!" As you watched your mother continue gathering your things it was like you were looking at a different woman.
You couldn't even recognize the woman in front as your mother anymore. She was treating you like a random person, she was treating you as if she didn't carry you in her womb and birth you.
"MY CHILD would be happy that their Sa'nok is happy but you!" She turned around and faced you with fire in her eyes "You can't even be happy for me! You choose to speak ill about Niptu, you choose to not be happy for us!"
"Sa'nok how could I be happy for you when he treats me horribly?! Do you even care that he's rude to me? Do you even care that sometimes he hits me?!"
Whenever your mother left to run an errand around the village she would leave Niptu home with you. You hated when she did this because every time Niptu felt like you were 'out of line' or doing something he felt like you shouldn't be he would hit you. He would call it 'disciplining you' but you didn't see it that way especially since it was for no reason.
"Niptu must've had a reason, you must've done something to provoke him to act that way" she spoke in a nonchalant manner, as if it didn't bother her one bit that her boyfriend did those things to you.
"Provoked him?! Sa'nok you can't be serious... is this tutan blinding you this much that you don't even see him hitting your daughter as a problem? You think that it's my fault that he does that to me?!"
Instead of your mother responding to you she just shoved the woven basket contained with your belongings inside towards your chest, "Leave! Now!"
As you felt the material of the basket scrape against your skin you just stood there in shock, shocked that your own mother was actually putting you out of your home.
As you and your mother continued arguing you could hear Niptu walk in, "Ah! Hello my love!" your mother ran over to him and gave him a warm hug as if everything was normal.
Niptu could see the bag in your hand and an evil smile spread across his face, "I see your sa’nok finally took my advice" he said with a dark chuckle. Niptu has been feeding your mother's words, telling her that you were causing a drift into their relationship and that you would have to leave or he would break up with her.
"Took your advice? Sa'nok what is he talking about?!" As you look between your mother and Niptu with confused eyes begging for answers your mother finally decides to speak up.
"Niptu told me that you should leave…"
"And you actually listened to him?! You let him warp your mind to think that I should leave? That I'm causing a 'drift' in your relationship?!"
Years ago your mother would have never acted like this, she would have never been kicking her daughter out into the dark forest to fend for herself but now... now things were different. She wanted to be and feel loved by a man in any way she could so if she had to do some things to continue receiving that love she did it.
"Yes I listened to him, he's the tutan of the house now" As your mother spoke about Niptu it just stroked his ego and it made you even more upset at the situation.
"Tutan of the house? Please he's not even half a man, he's a boy! I wish Sempul was still here, you would have never done—" Your words are cut off by the feeling of pain on your right cheek. Hearing you speak of your father triggered something so deep in your mother that the first thing she decided to do was slap you across the face.
As you felt the sting of her hand, tears welled up in your eyes. That was the final straw for you, you knew that the woman you called 'Sa'nok' wasn't there anymore.
"Don't you ever speak of your Sempul in this house again!"
"Fine, I won't because I'm leaving just like you wanted! I don't want to ever speak to you again" You put your woven basket behind your back and stormed out of your marui... well your old mauri.
You began wandering around the forest, trying to figure out what your next steps would be. You knew that you needed to find shelter and a new home so you began to look for an empty marui to rest your head for the night until you found something more permanent.
As you stumbled upon an empty marui you saw your best friend Kiri walking up to you with a concerned look in her eyes.
"y/n are you okay? What happened?" She took notice of the dried tear stains on your blue skin and how it looked like everything you owned was shoved into your woven basket.
"It's my sa'nok..."
Kiri wasn't oblivious to your mother's treatment toward you. Sometimes both of you would sit together in the forest and you would rant to her about your mother, hoping that your best friend could give you some advice, and just be a listening ear.
"What did she do now?"
"S-She kicked me out today..."
Kiri's eyes went from glazed with concern to slight anger. As she spoke her tail began to swing behind her, "What?! What do you mean she kicked you out?!"
Kiri never liked the way your mother treated you since she started dating Niptu. She thought it was disgraceful for a mother to treat their child like that just because they have a love interest. She never could understand why your mother did the things she does and you couldn't either.
You begin to tell Kiri everything that happened a few moments ago, from how your mother yelled at you to how she kicked you out just because of Niptu. You brought up how you only mentioned your father and she decided to raise your hand and slap you.
As Kiri heard you tell her everything that occurred her heart was broken for you, "y/n I'm sorry that happened to you" Kiri pulled you into a hug and wrapped her slender arms around you hoping she could make you feel better.
"Your mom should have never kicked you out for some stupid tutan, your her child for Eywa's sake!" Kiri was visibly upset about the whole situation, she would have gone to your mother and given her piece of her mind but she knew being with her best friend was more important.
"Are you okay y/n? How are you doing?"
"I'm fine... I'm just glad I don't have to be there anymore. I can't deal with her like I use to Kiri, I've had it up to here with her" You use to be able to tolerate your mother's behavior when it was just minimal things but now it's just too much for you to handle.
Kiri then realized you were in need of shelter, "So where are you going to sleep tonight? Where are you going to live?"
All you could do is shrug your shoulders, "Kiri... I don't know yet, I'm just going to stay here tonight and figure out everything else tomorrow..." you of course didn't have everything figured out right now since it just happened and you were still in a little shock about everything that occurred.
As you pointed to the empty marui in front of you Kiri began to look inside. It was dark, dirty with dust covering every surface, the sleeping mats inside were so old that if touched them they would probably deteriorate.
"No y/n you can not sleep here, it's not safe. You can come to my marui"
"No Kiri I can't do that, you have a family and I don't want to impose or anything" You didn't want to burden her and her family with your problems.
"Come on you spend the night all the time, this will be nothing different other than it's a longer stay. My parents won't mind they love when you come over and my siblings already love you. Everything would be happy to have you." Kiri kept giving you reasons, hoping you would decide to come with her. She didn't want you to be out here all alone when you could be around people who care about you.
"Okay, okay Kiri you convinced me I'll come..."
A bright smile spread across Kiri's face as she heard you agree, "Let's go, my sa'nok should have dinner ready any minute now" Kiri grabbed your hand and began leading you to her marui.
As you walked with Kiri you were so glad that you have a best friend like her. You always knew you could count on her and in this moment it showed. You knew that she had your back no matter the situation and would help you out in any way she could.

I also loved this other beautiful fanart of the Avatar 2 ship and I sincerely appreciate adorable myself. Especially since in the Aonung and Kiri are kissing underwater. Honestly, I can already imagine them in the same way in Avatar 3.
Tumblr media
By the way, this beautiful fanart of Aonung and Kiri is not mine and the credits are not for me but right here I am going to leave you the link of the true creator of this masterpiece on Twitter.

Kiri / Grace thoughts because I saw the film and lost my mind: spoilers for Avatar: The way of Water below the read more! (Maybe reads a bit messy, I saw it an hour ago and I am reeling. Seeing it again tomorrow so maybe I’ll be more coherrent then).
At this point I am relatively certain of the fact that Kiri does not actually have a dad, not in the bloodline kind of way, not in the physical sense. Sure, the Sullys adopted her but I’m talking about a dad in the direct off-spring sort of way here.
One of the first things said in the film is that Kiri was born of Grace’s Avatar, with it being a mystery who her dad is.
It’s clearly not Norm, even though teased by others, Kiri basically stated she’d rather die and dismissed it completely.
Kiri’s connection to Eywa is so strong she doesn’t always realise she’s getting sucked into it, connected through Tsaheylu.
Kiri’s first Tsaheylu to the Metkayina’s Spirit Tree goes well, she sees Grace both as a human and as her Avatar. All is alright until she starts asking about Eywa, and who her dad is. At which point she has a ‘seizure’ and has to be disconnected by someone else.
The first point I am pretty sure they could have tested for it, since Avatars share DNA with their drivers and the RDA definitely has the tech for it. Even if Grace got it on with a Na’vi, they would have been able to find that out but the implications are very much that they really do not know.
The Kiri/Grace scene had me feeling all sorts of feelings but that aside it sort of reaffirmed my theory? All goes well until she starts rambling off the specific questions, and it reminded me very much of Mo’at’s prayer in the first film.
"Take this spirit into you, and breathe her back to us. Let her walk among us, as one of the People.”
Though Grace did die, and was taken into Eywa, the lack of consciousness did not mean her Avatar had died. If anything it was still alive. What if Eywa saw an opportunity, adhered by the prayer, and while not giving Grace back, gave someone else back through her, someone new: Kiri!
And Kiri... born of Grace... walks among the Na’vi, as one of the People. Prayer fullfilled.
So, TLDR; I’m pretty sure Kiri has two moms and a Great Mother?

Kiri x flirty Reader (female, Metkayina)
Tumblr media
Summary: Your favorite thing to do is annoy Toruk Maktos eldest daughter. Who knew she actually enjoyed it?
Note: this has been in my drafts for a month I’m so happy I’m posting it lmao 🫣
You had always been a flirt ever since you were little. Before you even knew what flirting was you would do it. It was never a problem and nobody ever made a big fuss about it either. You love making the other na’vi of your age get flustered or look down in embarrassment as you complimented them or when they curled their hair in your presence just waiting for another snarky remark from you. It was your specialty and you would always deliver.
It was different though when Jake sully and his family seeked refuge in your home. Kiri Augustine was the first Na’vi to ever really catch your eye. She was beautiful and didn’t look like the average na’vi you would usually see. She was half human of course but it wasn’t just that it was the way she carried herself she moved so smoothly it almost got you flustered the first time you two held a conversation.
You had been helping the sullys unpack their luggage when you offered to help her.
“Let me take that, I wouldn’t want your pretty little hands getting dirty” quickly taking the box from her hands.
“And what makes you think that?”
“I-I didn’t mean it li-“ you were quickly cut off as she walked away grabbing another box.
After that incident you had been tormenting her everyday whenever and wherever you could. And you loved it, she would get so annoyed with you but never telling you to stop. You took that as a yes and continued your torment.
Today you had scheduled breathing lessons earlier than usual just to get on everyone’s nerves. Watching everyone one by one finally join you on a large rock near the shore. You noticed Kiri hadn’t joined you yet.
Turning to your twin sister Tsireya “Dyk where Kiri is?”
“Hmm no” she answered.
Lo’ak butting in “She couldn’t pick what she should wear today”
Causing a ripple effect of laughs to effect the group including you. That wasn’t like her though, she didn’t really care for things like that. Ridding your thoughts you noticed Kiri walking up to the rock and noticing your stare.
“Ah there she is!” You announced, with a fat smirk growing across your face.
“Yes here I am” she replied with an annoyed tone. Noticing your smirk she just glared you down only making the smirk grow.
“Come sit here Kiri, I saved a spot just for you” you implied, knowing that was the last thing she could’ve asked for.
Aa she say next to you she made sure that you knew she didn’t wanna be there. Sending you glares every few seconds as you taught the lesson.
Watching her practice your breathing techniques you noticed her heartbeat was fast.
“Here breathe in from here, and slow down your heartbeat” looking up at her, as you placed your hands onto her core.
Breathing in again she looked down at you, which only made her heartbeat pick up “Mhm” she agreed as you applied pressure onto her stomach trying to feel her breathe.
“No, you have to breathe from your core not your chest” you couldn’t help but smirk at her heart fastening from your touch.
She couldn’t even get a word out from her thoughts racing. She looked around at the group to only being met with stares and giggles at the scene unfolding in front of them. Were you flirting with her, or were you just trying to be helpful? She seriously couldn’t tell, her thoughts were quickly corrected as that smile crept onto your expression once again.
“I think I got it” pushing you off her, she did not have it in fact. She had no idea what she was doing, she just couldn’t take the stares anymore. The group got back to what they were doing as you went back to teaching them. You had gotten exactly what you wanted for the day.
The rest of the lesson you let her alone, afraid you might push too hard. That was the last thing you needed was for her to hate you. You enjoyed your little thing you two had.
Nearing the end of your lesson you watched as Kiri stood up and walked to her pod. Following her you quickly ran up to stop her from going any further.
“Hey kiri!” You smiled at her, you only got an eye roll in response.
“Yes?” Adding a bit of attitude to her response
“I was wondering if you wanted to come ilu riding with me at eclipse tonight?” You notcied your face getting flustered, hoping she wouldn’t notice you wiped some imaginary thing off your face trying to hide it.
“No thanks y/n” walking past you too annoyed to be hanging out with anyone atm.
“Cmon it’ll be fun!” turning around to walk side by side with her. She was a few inches taller than you, you didn’t mind as long as she didn’t make fun of you for it.
“I don’t think so y/n I will be tired”
“It’ll be so much fun Kiri i promise i won’t be weird” you promised, knowing damn well you would be.
“Hm-I guess, sure I’ll go” she answered, arriving at her pod she said goodbye and quickly entered.
It would be eclipse in about an hour so she was stressing out. She didn’t know why though. She didn’t like you at all, so why did she care about how she looked around you?
“Hello Kiri” Neytiri greeted her eldest daughter as she cut up fruit on a woven mat.
“Hello mum” she responded as she rushed to find a fitting outfit.
Noticing her daughters state she slowly stopped cutting and watched as she rushed “What is wrong Kiri?” She asked confused.
“I-i uhm have a date mother” still looking through clothes.
“Oh? And with who?” She was intrigued, she knew Kiri wasn’t one to be into these kind of things. So who could be so special that was making her unbothered daughter so bothered?
“With the chiefs daughter, Y/n” Finally picking a top she found fitting for the occasion.
“Hmm, I heard she’s a flirt”
“Yes she is- Is this cute?” Lifting up a top she had brought from her home clan.
“Yes, but do not be out for long Kiri” she warned, she didn’t know the sea very well. So she was skeptical of this place as she was with most things.
“Yes mom” she responded as she left to try on her top.
You on the other hand were excited, you were finally getting Toruk Maktos daughter all alone. You saw this as the perfect time to confess your feelings. It didn’t matter if she would reciprocate them or not. It was the fact that you were going to get them out. You enjoyed your little thing you two had but it wasn’t enough for you. You needed someone to rely on, someone you could talk to and she was perfect for you.
You were always asking Tsireya about her whenever they would hang out, and of course she told you. You were thorough ofc, you would ask ‘what was she wearing?’ or ‘what kind of jokes did she laugh at?’ or ‘what did you guys talk about?’. You enjoyed learning more and more about this woman, you were obsessed the day you met her. As eclipse came you mounted your ilu and waited for Kiri at the dock.
“I must go now mother goodbye” planting a soft kiss on her mothers forehead before running out
“Have a good time Kiri” she just smiled, the thought of what it felt like to be with Jake when they were young was running through her head.
As she ran out of the pod, she dusted off her clothes though they were perfectly clean. She had never been on a date before, since the boys of the clan just saw her as weird. It never wore on her confidence though, that’s what you liked abt her. She never let anyone define her self confidence, that’s what was so attractive abt her. She was so sure of everything about herself.
Noticing her figure drawing near, you put on your best face. Walking up, you lent out a hand to help her down, accepting it she smiled back.
“Your on time today!” You teased.
“Yeah yeah whatever, where are we gonna go?” In all honesty, you hadn’t really planned anything. You were too excited to think about the details.
“Hm I didn’t plan anything, we can go looking for seashells?”
“That’s sounds like fun” agreeing you both rode your ilu’s to the nearest island. It was a beautiful island. The trees there were different from your owns. They grew taller than any you’ve ever seen, they were still beach trees but still they grew in different directions. The beach there was also beautiful, the island was known for its waters. It was a calm place, you and your friends would go to.
As you planted your feet onto the familiar ground you noticed Kiri admiring the scenery. You patted yourself on the back mentally, you knew she would love this place. Her curiosity always got the best of her, and this was new so why not bring her to it?
“Wow y/n this place to beautiful” getting off her ilu, and taking in her new found environment.
“I thought you would like it” reaching for her hand you led her farther into the island. There was a watering hole in the middle of the island.
“Where are we going y/n?” Watching as your grip didn’t loosen as you picked up the pace till you were full out running through the island.
“You’ll see” letting her hand go as you got to the edge of watering hole.
“Isn’t it cool?” You asked, the watering holes water was pink due to the flowers that grew underneath it. During eclipse the moon hit the water at just the perfect angle, causing the water to sparkle from the light.
Dipping your feet in you encouraged her to join you, finally letting the water submerge your body. Kiri quickly hopped in causing a loud splash to scare the nearby animals away. Coming up for air you laughed at the way her hair looked wet, getting a push on the shoulder from her as she giggled.
“Hey!” You yelled as you pushed her back.
Pushing your shoulders down into the water, she laughed as you tried to fight back. Pulling her legs you got the upper hand as you clinged onto her for support. As you both came up for air again, you put your hands up in defeat.
“That’s what I thought” she mocked as she splashed around.
“So why’d you invite me here y/n?” As she pulled herself up from the water and into the sand.
Joining her on the sand you sat next to her catching you breathe. “Hm cause I wanted to tell you something”
A silence hung between you two, as you opened your mouth to speak.
“I enjoy hanging out with you Kiri- and I know you probably don’t feel the way I do, but I wanted to tell you I have feelings for you”
She looked at your amber eyes as you looked into hers, she hadn’t expected that. She just thought you saw her as another girl you could play with.
“I-I think I like you too y/n” inching closer, you let her lips slowly graze yours as she slipped her tongue in. Moving your hands onto her shoulders you leaned into the kiss as her hands held onto your curls. Her lips tasted like ecstasy in a jar. You had waited for this moment for so long. Pulling away you let out a breathe of relief. Catching your breathe you let out a low laugh.
“What’s so funny?” She asked still smiling from seconds ago.
“It’s nothing”
