[R/n looks at him mortified before Tregear bursts out laughing.]
Tregear: Relax, I'm joking.
R/n: Wha?
Tregear: Do I seems like some sleazy brute to you? I wouldn't brother with you while you're inebriated. *Notices R/n seemed upset by his rejection*...Unless, were you hoping that something had happened?
R/n, gets flustered: What!? No!
Tregear: Hmmm... That defensive tone says otherwise.
R/n: Get out of my room dammit!
{Tregear leaves but jumps back a bit when he find Taro sitting non-nonchalantly the living room.]
Taro: Y'know, you should stop teasing R/n and start taking her feelings more seriously.
Tregear: I really don't think you're the right person to be lecturing me about relationships, Taro.
Taro, waves him off: What happened between the two of us is in the past. I'm talking about the now, Tregear. You gotta start treating R/n right, otherwise you'll lose her forever.
Tregear:...Get out of my house, Taro.
Taro: It's R/n's house (Tregear glares at him.) I'm leaving.

Blue Phantom has me feeling diseased today so I’m making it everyone else’s problem. I am constantly thinking about how accepting darkness was never so much as a true fall for Tregear as much as it was a line in the sand he was already prior contemplating crossing. It was the part of himself he tried to repress even when he was young because he thought he could count on Taro to always bring him back. Protecting humanity was never Tregear’s dream, it was always Taro’s and Tregear would have been happy to follow along as long as Taro remained the sunlight in his life but then as their paths diverged Tregear couldn’t rely on Taro to bring him back from the brink anymore.
Additionally, I think another one of their discrepancies that slowly grew over time was that as Taro was really leaning into his identity as an ultra brother and member of the IDF it made Tregear resentful because it felt like a step back. Even as a child, Tregear was never concerned about the expectations Taro placed on himself or his identity as a hero as much as he cared about Taro himself. It was never Taro’s identity as a hero that kept Tregear anchored, it was always Taro himself that was essentially Tregear’s light.

since ben's ultimate waybig is inspired by ultraman taro but in dyna colours, @poisonbat suggested albedo's should be based on tregear and i decided to compliment that with evil tiga colours
lore-wise, maybe this is a different strain of to'kustar in the hyperstress ultimate evolution simulation that albedo liked better for personal use bc it's better at being evil and fucked up despite being physically kinda wimpy in comparison to the ultimate strain default to the ultimatrix (just like tregear compared to taro)
for the uninitiated in ultra, this is tregear, if you're wondering about the... interesting design choices:
